Akinwunmi Ambode, the former governor of Lagos State has urged his supporters and the general public to remain calm and law-abiding as there was no cause for alarm over search of his houses by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ambode, in a statement by his media aide, Habib Aruna, spoke on the backdrop of a search by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on his Epe Country home and Parkview Ikoyi residence, where the anti-graft agency conducted the exercise without any incident.

He said the Commission, till date, has not opened any direct communication with him on any issue, adding that he was ready and willing to respond if or when they do so.  The statement reads:

Quote:“This morning, operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission visited the Epe Country home and Parkview Ikoyi residence of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, former Governor of Lagos State, with warrants to conduct a search. These searches were carried out extensively and at the end of the exercise the operatives left without any incident.
“The former Governor reiterates that the EFCC has till date not had any direct communication with him on any subject matter whatsoever and if or when it occurs he is ready and willing to respond.
“The former governor wishes to assure his supporters and the generality of Lagosians to continue to remain calm and law-abiding as there is no cause for alarm.”
The former governor reiterated his belief in the rule of law and due process and remained grateful for the opportunity to have served Lagos State diligently and conscientiously.

Ambode, had in an earlier response to allegations by the EFCC that it had frozen certain accounts linked to him, insisted that no account of his contained N9.9bn let alone being frozen by the Commission as those accounts were opened and operated by the Lagos State Government.

Ambode’s Lawyers: We Foiled EFCC Plot Of Planting Foreign Currency In His House
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 08-20-2019, 11:04 PM - No Replies

Quote:The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) tried implicating Akinwunmi Ambode, former governor of Lagos state, with some foreign currency, according to some lawyers.

Operatives of the anti-graft agency had invaded the Epe residence of the ex-governor on Tuesday.

In a statement, Fatai Adebanjo, Busari Olanrewaju and Samson Okuneye, all lawyers, said they stood their ground and resisted pressure from the agency.

Tony Orilade, spokesman of the agency, had said the operation was part of investigation of the former governor.

But Ambode later said the EFCC had not told him he was being investigated.

The lawyers said officials of the commission initially told them that they would go into the house alone but they did not allow that happen.

“At early hours of today, we were duly briefed that some officers of the EFCC invaded the apartment of the Former Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode with the intention to search the premises,” they said.

“We got to the scene and met with the officials of the EFCC to inquire whether they have a search warrant to search the premises of the Ex Governor.

“Having confirmed the Search Warrant, the EFCC officials told us that nobody will follow them in as they will only go in alone. We resisted as young Lawyers and stated expressly that the principle of search is that the owner of the premises of his representatives must be present to observe the search.

“They succumbed to our superior argument and allowed us and the people who has the key to the Ex Governor’s house into the apartment with them. Before they entered, we searched all the officials of the EFCC who intended to go in to effect the search.

“There was a blue bag which they were holding with them, we requested to see the content of the bag before they could take it in. They got angry and said we cannot see the content. Having said that, we strongly resisted them to take it in since they cant allow us to see it, which they later agreed. We later got to know that the bag contained foreign currency which they brought to plant in the house of the Ex Governor to incriminate him.”

The lawyers narrated how they handed over their phones to the EFCC team led by Rotimi Oyedepo, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

“It is important to inform the public that before the entered the house, we all submitted our phones to them as they requested that the only person required to go in with phone is one of them who will record the whole process,” they said.

“Flowing from the aforesaid, they searched the nooks and crannies of the Ex Governor’s house and they couldn’t find any incriminating documents or materials. We authoritatively assert that, they did not find anything in the house and they didn’t leave the house with anything.

“We followed them as they entered from one place to the other, when our presence was intimidating them, they said we should sit down while they will do the search. We resisted that we must follow them to observe every of their activities in the premises.

“To our greatest consternation, the officials of EFCC led by Rotimi Oyedepo, Esq held on to our phones and told us to follow them to their office in Ikoyi to get our phones. All efforts to get back our phones was abortive as the EFCC officials led by Rotimi Oyedepo, Esq rushed into their white Hiace Bus with our phones and instructed that since we have resisted their efforts to take “the said blue bag” into the main premises of the Ex Governor, they will hold on to the phone. Thus, almost six (6) phones were forcefully taken away, iPhones inclusive.

“It is our happiness as Young Lawyers in Epe to be part of the process to legally and successfully resist the EFCC from incriminating the Ex Governor with the blue bag they brought with them from an unknown destination, and we also compelled them to conduct the search within the ambit of the law. Hence, the success.”

A federal high court in Lagos had ordered the freezing of three bank accounts allegedly linked to the former governor over a N9.9 billion fraud.

Ambode later denied having any personal link to the account.

Shock As Sanwo-Olu Appoints Joe Igbokwe Special Adviser On Drainage
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 08-20-2019, 11:03 PM - No Replies

Lagos State APC Spokesman, Joe Igbokwe, has been appointed as Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources, Igbere TV reports.

Governor Sanwo-Olu had nominated Mr Igbokwe as Commissioner in the list sent to the Lagos State House of Assembly, last week.

Igbere TV reports that the Assembly had confirmed 35 out of the 38 nominees, with Igbokwe among those confirmed as Commissioner designate.

Many had expected that the Governor would announce Igbokwe as Commissioner during today's swearing in at the Alausa Government House, Ikeja, Lagos.

But shockingly, the APC Spokesman was unveiled as Special Adviser, as against the earlier announced Commissioner designate.

Joe Igbokwe had sparked controversy online over his “I am not Igbo...” comment during the screening exercise before the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The controversial APC Spokesman had come under fire, recently, over a mockery comment on popular Lagos motorbike hailing service, GoKada.

Igbokwe had mocked GoKada operators for shutting down operations in Lagos to rebrand and restrategize.

“Instead of partnering with govt on BRT, you invested “5.3 million dollars” in Okada business and expect that Lagos state will allow you jeopardise its muliti-billion naira mass transit investments.

“Call it ‘bike-hailing start up’ or whatever, okada na okada… it is not sustainable in a city of high density population Lagos”, Igbokwe had said.

The comment, however, did not go down well with many Nigerians lambasting Igbokwe and reporting him to Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Many Nigerians have reacted to the latest development, with many mocking the APC Spokesman for being “dumped” by the government despite his “overzealousness” and “eye-service”.

Nnamdi Kanu Blasts PDP, APC For Calling For Prosecution Of Ekweremadu’s Attacker
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 08-20-2019, 04:11 PM - No Replies

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has knocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for calling for the arrest and prosecution of the attackers of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

Ekweremadu who was attending a cultural event by the Ndi-igbo Germany community as a speaker/special guest of honour was on Saturday beaten up and egged publicly by members of IPOB.

The lawmaker was accused by IPOB members of conspiring with the Federal Government to proscribe the group in the South East and the killing of its followers.

German police said no arrest had been made as the people have a right to protest. The authorities said they only were at the venue of the event to restore order, Igbere TV reports.

The APC and PDP both condemned the attack and called for the arrest and prosecution of the attackers.

However, Mr Kanu, in a tweet on Tuesday, said ‘Fulani apologists’ in the two main parties were still ‘blinded’ to the ‘storm’ that is gathering to envelop them.

“The popular revolt against Ekweremadu has been ruled non-criminal by German govt, yet Fulani apologists (both APC & PDP) are still blinded to the gathering storm that will soon envelop them. It’s no longer about #IPOB alone; it’s about the long-suffering masses of Nigeria,” he said.

Moment Epe residents stopped EFCC operatives from entering Ambode's house (videos/photos)

A video making rounds online captured the moment Epe residents stopped operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from entering former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode's house.

Indigenes of the Lagos community reportedly stopped operatives of the anti-graft agency from going on with the raid on grounds of it being a witch-hunt. Here are photos and videos taken from the scene below;

This is coming after the EFCC denied raiding the residence of the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode. A statement from the anti-graft agency read;

Quote:The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has since early hours of today, been inundated with calls that operatives of the Commission raided the residence of the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
We need to state for the records that the EFCC did not raid Ambode’s house. It is instructive that his administration, like other former governors is under investigation, since they no longer constitutionally enjoy immunity against prosecution.
The Commission hereby states with high sense of responsibility that the operatives did not raid Ambode’s residence. Whatever the Commission is presently doing with regards to the investigation is in line with its mandate and the rule of law.
We wish to inform the social media to be circumspect in the reportage of any news with regards to investigation activities of the Commission.
As a tradition, the Commission does not carry out investigation on the pages of the newspapers or through the media. Our operations are always covert until at a time when we file charges in court.
Therefore, the attempt to cast the Commission in a bad light is unacceptable as the EFCC will never engage in illegal act. We remain committed to the war against corruption.''

Hamisu Wadume, a suspected kidnap lord in Taraba State, has been re-arrested, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt from official sources.
It was not immediately clear when and where Mr Wadume was taken into custody, but a source informed about the development informed PREMIUM TIMES about it on Tuesday.
Mr Wadume was sighted at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

The police are expected to release a statement on his arrest later.

Mr Wadume was the ‘high profile’ kidnapping suspectarrested by the police on August 6. He was being driven to Jalingo by the police team when soldiers opened fire on them along Ibi-Wukari Road, killing three police officers and a civilian.

The attack immediatelysparked friction between police and the Nigerian Army, as well as a nationwide apprehension, prompting President Muhammadu Buhari to order an investigation. The investigation panel, which includes persons with police and military background, was initially scheduled to conclude its findings last week, but the team sought additional two weeks to wrap up.

Details soon…

BBNaija: ‘Mike is real pepper’ – Nigerians react as Tacha clashes with housemate
[Image: Mike-Tacha.jpeg]

A cross-section of Nigerians has described Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemate, Mike as the real ‘Pepper’ in the reality show.
This followed the recent war of words between Tacha and Mike on Tuesday morning.

DAILY POST had reported that an argument broke out on Tuesday morning between Mike and Tacha at the gym.
The argument started after Tacha warned Mike to stop cheering her at the gym but he continued.
This led to a serious argument with some housemates taking sides and others trying to calm the situation.

Tacha who was upset that Mike refused to listen to her ‘rained’ insults at him.
She said, ”You don’t want to have sense, you carried ‘busy-body’ from secondary school to Big Brother House.I have been saying the same thing every time. Keep your freaking encouragement to yourself, I don’t want it,” she added.
But, Mike in reaction, maintained that there was nothing wrong in cheering Tacha.

The recent development has stirred reactions from BBNaija housemates.
While some hailed Mike and described him as the real ‘Pepper dem’ housemates, others criticized his attitude for disrespecting Tacha’s decision.
Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter:
@itunes0900 “It is so funny how Tacha fans are calling Mike brainless, I’m laughing in characteristics.”
@RadPisces “I stan a trendsetter the only original pepper.. baby boy Mike keep fucking shit up.I stan harder. Mike trending at number one let’s keep voting.”
@Stilowonda “Mike don’t like meat and all the HMs respected that, why won’t he respect Tacha’s decision that she doesn’t like people cheering her up. The same thing that he did to Seyi. Married man that will not respect himself. Nonsense.”
@Girooud “Mike has always been an asshole but people don’t notice, he’d use accent and confuse both the viewers and his fans. “I wanna wanna”.
@Ola_Yide “Again, Mike has said it over time that his personality is something not everyone can understand. He says it is only fans that can decide his fate. This is a reality show and not everyone will entertain by shouting or faking drama. Mike is a type of pepper.”
@Mike_Westan “Mike said He’s stubborn and when he sets his mind on something, he doesn’t relent. Weeping hasn’t started, you all haven’t seen anything yet! He’s the real pepper.”
@nxncy_x “from the way Mike acts, you’d see that he’s used to cheering people on and people cheering for him. You don’t like being cheered that’s your business. He won’t stop cheering. But for you to say he has a stinking attitude? How does it relate?
@Phanask34 “Mike continue being you, be yourself don’t allow anyone to damper your positive energy.”
@Leemha2 “Some people will die today on top Mike’s matter. The content I signed up for. The Real Pepper.”

"I wanted to cry but I thought crying would not bring my fiancé to church" - Rwandan woman recalls how she was dumped at the altar

A Rwandan woman Jenny Mutale has opened up on how she found courage after being
dumped at the altar by her fiancé, second chances and finding love again.

Speaking to Ugandan journalist, Phionah Nassanga, Mutale recalled how she was clad in her beautiful Cinderella white gown with a bouquet of roses, on February 25, 2017, excited about making the vows with the man she thought was the love of her life.
But her fiance never showed up.

Quote:“I called my fiancé’s phone countless times, but it was off,” she recalls. I proceeded to church, with a lot running on my mind. I kept hoping that he was delayed somewhere or his battery was off. I was convinced he would make it. I asked to be alone. I believe that something could ruin the most beautiful day in every girl’s life- the wedding day. I started praying and meditating on some scriptures. After 30 minutes of waiting, I got the courage to walk to church. The pastor went on to preach words of encouragement to the congregation. As the choir sang, my guardian walked me down the aisle.”
"Too many thoughts engulfed me. I wanted to cry but I thought crying would not bring my fiancé to church. Just when I thought my life was getting a whole new meaning, my wedding day got ruined. I did not know what to do,” Mutale recalls.

Mutale and her ex-fiancé had first met at a prayer gathering. And as he was ministering, he crushed on her. Before they knew it, they had become good friends.
Promising to stand by each other’s side, Mutale and her ex-finance decided to make things official both at the church and to the parents. She knew she had found a shoulder to cry on. Unfortunately he wasn’t the one.

Mutale’s father died in a motor accident at the Uganda-Congo border when the last born of four siblings was still an infant. Mutale says her mother, who was in the same car with her father, also suffered an acute spinal cord injury and passed on too.
“I was only five years old,” she recalls.

Raised by relatives, Mutale says no one seemed to like her. Tired of being shouted at, denied access to toys, stopped from playing with other children, harrowing words of failure, the little girl decided to leave home. Homeless, roofless and almost forgotten, she existed only on the fringes of Kigali. Unsure of where to spend the night, every evening Mutale found solace in different bars.

After losing her identity, with no one to call mummy or daddy, Mutale joined a group of peers who introduced her to smoking and drinking alcohol.
“I was introduced to drugs at 12. The first time I got high, I forgot about all the misery I was going through at the moment” she recalls.

For every sip and puff she had every single day, Mutale did not know that she was slowly slipping into a ditch of addiction. She says cleaning bars and miming songs earned her some pennies to buy cigarettes and alcohol.

Though it’s hard to recall the exact year it was, Mutale says she was later taken off the streets by a Muslim family.
“One night, a woman approached me, asking who I was and why I was on the streets. After listening to my story, she decided to adopt me,” she recalls. But in her new home, Mutale was not liked by everyone, except the caretaker. “I was molested, but feared telling anyone because no one believes stories of a street child,” she says.

She got the opportunity to resume school but even then she could not give up on drugs. Sneaking packets of vodka and cigarettes into school, Mutale was always ‘high’. When her caretaker passed away, she became homeless again and dropped out in Senior Four. At this point, she contemplated committing suicide.
“I took about 60 tablets. I wanted to die and bring an end to all this misery. I relapsed into coma,” she recalls. “But the most depressing time was when I got back to my senses on a hospital bed. You would think someone is more depressed they decide to commit suicide, but it’s more depressing when you realise you are still breathing.”

Tired and confused, Mutale left her ancestral home and crossed to Uganda. One morning, Mutale boarded a bus to Uganda, set to settle in a country where she knew no one.
“Out of desperation, running away was the only option for me.” she said.

She travelled for hours without eating anything. The lady who was seating next to her got concerned and asked who she was. “Where are you going? What is your name?  What are you going to do in Uganda and do you know anyone there? She asked me all these questions but I had no answer.”

The bus arrived in Uganda in the evening and they both parted ways. But Mutale wasn’t sure of where to go until she was picked by other strangers.
“They first asked me if I knew how to dance Kinyarwanda. I didn’t know, but promised to learn,” she recalls.

At least the beginning was promising. She got a home and hope for a job. The following morning, she was introduced to a dancing group where she started learning dancing skills. Earning Shs200,000 per month, Mutale envisioned a good life, until the day she was forced to quit the dancing group.
“I learnt all sorts of traditional dances. But the director of the dancing group started harassing me sexually. It was too much. I returned to Rwanda.”

With a few savings from her hustle while in Uganda, Mutale invested in fashion and modelling which she says was her childhood dream.

After years of working as a model with Veromoda- a modelling company in Rwanda, she returned to Uganda, intending to work with Arapapa, a fashion house. After everything she had been through, Mutale found love at last.

But before she presented her documents and photos, Mutale suffered a mental breakdown (perhaps the reason she forgets exact timelines and details of her story).
“Moving to the taxi park, I started hearing uncomfortable noise. The last thing I remember was undressing,” she recalls. She woke up in Butabika, the mental health national referral hospital, where she spent three months. With no relatives or friends showing up, she says, her case was reported to the Rwandan embassy in Uganda.

The embassy found her family. From Butabika she was admitted to another mental hospital in Kigali.
“I was mentally ill for two years. But upon recovery I returned to Uganda and did several menial jobs for a living. Loss of parents, mental illness, sexual abuse, drug addiction, rejection. How unlucky could I be? How much more pain did I have to endure?” Mutale recalls the unanswered questions that echoed in her mind.

She says in 2010, she decided to go to the shores of Lake Victoria in Entebbe, where she would have a clear view the waters and the waves.
“Just like the waves on the lake, that is how your life is being wasted,” says she heard the voice. “Just like your family was destroyed, so will you, if you do not give your life to Christ.” She smiles recalling this moment.

She accepted to give her life to Christ and confessed her sins. Gradually she started letting go of the hatred and anger she had harboured for years.
“For the first time, as an adult I was able to share my story in a multitude of people, without caring about what they would think of me.”

After sharing her story, one couple decided to adopt her- the second time she was being adopted. For first two years, she was taken through counselling and Bible study lessons.

Between 2013 and 2014, she pursued a diploma in theology at the Bible College in Nsambya. In 2016, she joined Makerere University for a certificate in Counseling and Guidance.

After seven years of revival, in 2017, Mutale and her then boyfriend decided to tie the knot.
“When he proposed, I knew he was the man for me and with him, all my dreams would come true,” she recalls.

The wedding date was set. The preparations were in high gear, we invited guests and service providers showed up on the wedding day, ready to host guests. As fate would have it, a few hours to the wedding, she received a phone call telling her the groom had not arrived.

After she decided to control her emotions, from the church service, she had photo moments with her family and friends. They went to the reception at Kabira Country Club. Eating, dancing, with different dance troupes performing, she at some point forgot that she had been deserted on one of the most important moments in a woman’s life.

Looking back at all the episodes of her sorrow, Mutale says, being left at the altar strengthened her.
“Having faith in God gave me courage to overcome the shame,” she shares.

After the wedding debacle, Mutale and her ex-fiance tried to talk things over but he did not show interest.
" I sought to understand why he decided not to show up at the wedding day, but he has never explained anything"

Mutale got married in December 2018. She met her ex-lover at church in the same counselling class.
“I am happily married to the person God had planned for me and so is my ex-boyfriend. We had both moved on with new spouses.”

Mutale says her new partner’s gentleness has healed her tattered and weary soul.
Victory at last. Looking back at all the episodes of her sorrow, Mutale says, being left at the altar strengthened her.

“Having faith in God helped me a lot. I just had to pray to Him to give me the strength and courage to overcome the shame,” she shares.

Mutale says love with her new partner is calmness after a shipwreck.
“His gentleness healed my tattered and weary soul and he earnestly wants the best for me. I have walked through the fire but now I can attest to the goodness of the Lord,” she reveals.

Human Rights lawyer backs IPOB on Ekweremadu attack

While condemnation from different quarters have greeted the attack on senator Ike Ekweremadu by IPOB members in Germany, a human rights lawyer, Femi Aborisade, said IPOB was right to question the senator.

Aborisade argued that the action of IPOB towards Ekweremadu should serve as warning signals to current public officeholders that they would account for their actions in office.

He said: “My perception of the video that I watched showed that they were asking him questions, and Nigerians, anywhere they are, have the right to ask questions from their leaders either former or current. The reason was to get clarification on issues and for them to justify their actions. There is no offense in that.

“They were only asking that he should justify his statement, position, and attitude towards supporting the proscription of the IPOB. There is no attack. It is an issue of asking questions.

“It is a lesson to all current public office holders because one time or the other, all those that are depriving us democratic rights today will answer for a crime against humanity,”

DHQ on Taraba killings: Arrest of principal suspect key to investigation

Military and police detectives have widened their search for Taraba kidnap suspect Hamisu Bala Wadume beyond the boundaries of the land, The Nation learnt on Monday.
This was as the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) gave reasons for the extension of the time given to the Joint Investigative Panel (JIP) to submit its report.

It noted also that the arrest of Wadume as a principal suspect would not only accelerate the work of the panel but was very important to the investigations.
Security operatives were said to have extended their search for the kidnap kingpin to border towns in the Northeast and Southeast.

Wadume is on the run, more than 10 days after he escaped in controversial circumstances that led to the killing of three police detectives and a civilian when soldiers attached to the 93 Battalion in Takum, Taraba State, fired gunshots at the vehicle conveying them on Ibi-Jalingo road.
Wadume, who was in handcuffs, was allegedly set free by the soldiers who, Army spokesman Col. Musa Sagir said, were acting on a distress call by a kidnap victim.
Sources at the DHQ yesterday said that Wadume had not been apprehended by detectives and intelligence personnel combing the nooks and crannies of states in the Middle Belt, the Northeast and Southeast.

It was gathered that besides the efforts of the security agents in combing likely hideouts of the kidnap kingpin, the services of Interpol might have been enlisted to tighten the noose on him.
The source expressed optimism that Wadume would soon be arrested as the security agencies are aware of the onerous responsibility placed on them to ensure the arrest of the principal suspect.
The DHQ source also confirmed the time frame given to the panel to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of three police personnel.
The source said: “We could not give the panel a time frame because we were not sure of the magnitude of the problem. But as events unfolded, we realised they could not finish up with the work within a week or two. So, I can tell you that the time has been extended. But still, there is no time frame.

“What we are concerned about is that the panel will do a thorough job the outcome of which will be commendable. And if you look at the composition of the panel, you will know that these are officers who have distinguished themselves professionally over the years in their various services.”
The Nation further learnt that the panel was reviewing the preliminary evidence obtained in the past few days from various sources, while police and military personnel as well as civilians connected with the matter were facing various levels of interrogations and grilling.

Afropop star, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid has become the first African artist to hit eight million monthly streams on Spotify.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that streaming records revealed Wizkid’s popularity on the platform on Monday.
The previous record was held by Congolese rapper and singer, Maitre Gims. He had seven million monthly listeners.
This win follows Wizkid’s recent collaboration with DJ Spinall and Tiwa Savage on ‘Dis Love’.

The singer also featured on ‘Like,’ a new single by British-Ghanaian rapper and singer, Kojo Funds.

The music star is also the first African artist to walk the runway at a Dolce and Gabbana fashion show while his music `Soco’ played at the background.

Wizkid started recording music at age 11 and managed to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed.
In 2018, he became the first African artiste to sell out Skyway Theatre. The only other artist who has achieved same feat in Minnesota, is Beyonce .
The ‘Sweet Love’ singer recently made Billboard entry for his collaboration with Beyonce on her ‘Lion King’-inspired album.

More revelations have come to light about the activities of soldiers attached to Battalion 93, Takum, including how they allegedly shielded a drug dealer who was about to be arrested by the police.

Special Forces from the battalion were said to have also attacked the five policemen who went on an operation to arrest a narcotics dealer in Kwesati village, Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State, last year.

The policemen who stormed the village to arrest one Endurance Mike for allegedly selling tramadol and other banned psychotropic drugs were allegedly beaten up by 10 soldiers attached to the Operation Whirlstroke.

A police report on the incident, obtained from police archives on Monday by one of our correspondents in Abuja, stated that the incident, which occurred on June 30,2018, almost led to a violent confrontation between policemen and soldiers of Battalion 93.

The report, with reference number CK4161/AC/TK/TRS/VOL.1/2 dated July 7, was written by the Area Commander, Takum Area Command, ACP Ayuba Dickson, to the Commissioner of Police, state headquarters, Jalingo.

It explained that when the policemen got to Mike’s shop where he also sold medicines, they met a soldier who exchanged hot words with them on learning that they wanted to arrest the shop owner.

It said, “While the police team was still inside the shop, the unnamed soldier went out and mobilised more than 10 fellow soldiers who came on motorcycles and beat up the policemen, seized the confiscated drugs and set the suspect free. One of the men also seized and chewed the search warrant and swallowed it.

“The soldiers also forcefully seized two rifles from the police team and took them to their makeshift office.”

The report identified the injured policemen as the Divisional Crime Officer, Ussa Division, ASP Usman Madugu, Inspector Ishaku Garba, Sergeants Moses Ashoon and Punadanda Ahmadu and Cpl. Manasseh Alfred.

BBNaija: Nigerians react to brewing romance between Diane, Elozonam

Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemate Diane recently has developed likeness and closeness for fellow housemate Elozonam.
Both housemates have been seen severally having private personal conversations and being together in the past few days.

On Monday night after a little argument over eviction this week, Elozonam and Diane were seen on the same bed after lights out whispering to each other.
Although their relationship and love interest has not been declared officially like that of lovebirds ‘Gedoni and Khafi’ and ‘Ike and Mercy,’ there are obvious signs.
Some Nigerians and BBNaija fans on social media have noticed a brewing romance and relationship set to happen between both housemates soon.

DAILY POST had reported that Diane alongside six Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemates, Mike, Seyi, Mercy, , Frodd, Jackie and Gedoni were selected for possible eviction this week.

The housemates were nominated after ‘Cruistopia team’ were defeated during the arena game challenge.
Elozonam, who won the veto power on Sunday saved Venita not Diane and replaced him with Frodd from her team, ‘Cruistopia’ rather than Diane his closest friend which has stirred reactions online.

Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter:
@Nash_Cee “Elo and Diane are having relationship problems whilist they are not in a relationship.”
@Funkysteve7 “Love is blind that is why Elozonam did not see Diane to save.”
@Amina_rx “I’m voting Diane because I want to see more slow burn secondary love between her and Elozonam.”
@Fabiantrue “What ever Elozonam and Diane have or feel for each other looks so real like i never digged any BBN ship especially this season but this right here melts my heart .”
@Ulasielizabeth “To be honest Elozonam he saved Diane then he’s not okay. People need to be taught what loyalty is all about. Elo likes Diane but she took him for a fool. So let her see how it feels.”
@FannyMvula1 “Is that Diane and Elo in bed, at this point i have no say let me go throw in some votes.”
@zionmariam “Elozonam is smart and calculative, it’s all about the #60m not Diane.”
@OsejiAda “This Elozonam and Diane love reminds me of my 100 level days. it’s so cute and confusing altogether.”
@Queenannabel01 “This kind love is soo peaceful. Elo and Diane .”
@TeamDiane “This people can’t stay away from each other sha Diane and Elo in bed.”
@Edyspearles2 “I said it o. Their fight was not about veto power. Elozonam and Diane are having a slow sail towards love. They’ll find the balance eventually.”
@Jnrvalent “Diane is pained because Elozonam didn’t save her. Karma is a bitch girl and it came at you quick, you had the chance to save him but you refused and now you expect him to save you? You must be kidding, we keep same energy.”
@Ohloowatoscene “I think it’s safe to say the save and replace thing is moving things to another level between Elo and Diane.”

Conoil shareholders get N1.4b dividend

The board of Conoil Plc at the weekend assured shareholders that the company has been positioned to continue to grow and deliver better returns despite operating challenges.
The assurance came at the annual general meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State where shareholders approved the payment of N1.4 billion as cash dividend for the 2018 business year. Shareholders will receive a dividend of N2  per share.

In his address to shareholders at the meeting, Chairman, Conoil Plc, Dr. Mike Adenuga (Jr), stated that Conoil has continued to improve on its performance and shareholder’s value despite the tough operating environment in the downstream oil sector.
Key extracts of the audited report and accounts for the year ended December 31, 2018 showed that profit before tax rose by 11.4 per cent N2.57 billion in 2018 as against N2.30 billion in 2017. Profit after tax grew by 13.8 per cent from N1.58 billion to N1.80 billion. Turnover had risen by 5.8 per cent to N122.21 billion in 2018 as against N115.51 billion in 2017. Earnings per share consequently increased from N2.27 in 2017 to N2.59 in 2018. The company’s net assets per share rose from N25.78 in 2017 to N26.37 in 2018.
Adenuga said Conoil has been able to weather the challenges in the downstream oil sector and the general economy by remaining focused on its strategic growth plans, drawing from its inherent resilience and dynamism as a world-class company and the marketer of choice.
According to him, the company had embarked on strategic cost reduction without hampering the future growth potential of the business while it took pragmatic steps to tackle the turbulent conditions in some of its key markets.
“Every segment of our business will continue to receive the desired attention with a view to maintaining world class levels of operating and capital discipline. We believe that the future holds a lot of promise for our shareholders, the company will surely reward them for their steadfastness and unwavering faith in its prospects,” Adenuga said.

He assured that the company would not relent in its efforts to maintain its leading position in the downstream petroleum sector by continuously developing its product portfolio, improving service delivery and best practices while delivering value to all stakeholders.
He said Conoil would leverage on its proven pedigree and cutting-edge advantage in technical expertise and service delivery to take maximum advantage of any emerging growth opportunities in the economy, noting that the company has significantly invested in new facilities and level of support behind its brands.
“In the face of uncertainties, what counts is being trusted to deliver, we are committed to delivering excellent returns and building value for our customers, our employees and of course, our distinguished shareholders,” Adenuga said.
Shareholders who spoke at the meeting praised the performance of the company and lauded the board and management for sustaining growth and profitability. Shareholders particularly noted the company’s unbroken dividend payment records.
Founder, Independent Shareholders Association of Nigeria (ISAN), Sir Sunny Nwosu said the continuing profitability and dividend payment by Conoil has set it apart as a resilient and leading company in the downstream oil sector.
“I must commend the board and management of Conoil for sustaining profitability and also able to pay dividend to its shareholders notwithstanding the very tough operating environment during the financial year in review. I know of some companies in the downstream oil sector that could not pay dividend to shareholders,” Nwosu said.

The NSE Banking Index appreciated by 1.34 per cent while the NSE Oil & Gas Index rose by 0.59 per cent. However, the NSE Insurance Index depreciated by 2.41 per cent. The NSE Consumer Goods Index declined by 1.59 per cent while the NSE Industrials Goods Index dipped by 0.25 per cent.

Zenith Bank declares N9.42b interim dividend

The board of Zenith Bank International Plc yesterday said it would be distributing N9.42 billion to shareholders as interim dividend as the bank sustained steady growths across key performance indices in the first half of this year.
Shareholders on the register of the bank as at August 29, 2019 will receive an interim dividend per share of 30 kobo. The dividend will be paid on September 2, 2019.

Key extracts of the audited report and accounts for the six-month report ended June 30, 2019 released at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) showed that gross earnings grew by 3.0 per cent from N322.2 billion in first half of 2018 to N331.6 billion in first half 2019. The top-line performance was driven by a significant growth of 24 per cent in non-interest income from N88.6 billion to N109.7 billion. Fees from electronic products increased by 168 per cent from N10 billion to N27 billion, underlining significant progress in the bank’s retail banking initiatives.

Profit before tax rose by 4.0 per cent to N111.7 billion in first half 2019 compared with N107.4 billion in comparable period of 2018. After taxes, net profit rose from N81.74 billion in first half 2018 to N88.88 billion in first half 2019. With this, earnings per share improved by 9.0 per cent from N2.60 to N2.83.

The balance sheet also improved with increases in deposits and total assets. Group’s total deposit increased by 3.0 per cent from N861 billion by the close of the year on December 31, 2018 to close June 30, 2019 at N1.1 trillion. Despite the growth in deposit base, the bank optimised interest expense leading to a 4.0 per cent reduction from N74.7 billion to N72.1 billion due to the bank’s improved funding mix and profound treasury management skills.

Net interest margins (NIMs) however depressed from 10 per cent in first half 2018 to 8.6 per cent in first half 2019, as a result of the declining yield environment but cost of funds improved from 3.4 per cent to 3.0 per cent.
Further analysis showed that gross non-performing loans (NPLs) remained flat. The marginal movement in NPL ratio was as a result of the 3.0 per cent reduction in loan book from N2.02 trillion as at December 2018 to N1.95 trillion at the end of the period.

“We are creatively deploying new retail loan products to ensure we capture a reasonable share of the retail loan market. We remain committed to maintaining our strong balance sheet with liquidity ratio at 74.6 per cent and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) at 25 per cent, ensuring we remain above regulatory thresholds,” the bank stated yesterday.
The bank assured that it will in the second half continue to consolidate its leadership in the corporate space as well as its retail banking franchise with a view to delivering drive will continue unabated.
“We expect to see an improvement in economic activities even as we maintain our promise of delivering a unique service experience to our customers,” Zenith Bank stated.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY, 20TH AUGUST

BUILD YOUR LIFE WITH THE WORD

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever (1 Peter 1:23).

Christianity is an exciting life—a life of victory through the Word. In true Christianity, you don’t need to struggle to please God, because the Holy Spirit helps you live the faith life that pleases Him. All you have to do is pay attention to Him through the Word. Live in, and by His Word.

When you live according to the Word of God, you won’t need to keep watching your life to know whether or not you’re pleasing God. It takes faith to please Him (Hebrews 11:6), and faith is acting on the Word.

The Lord Jesus described for us the life and wisdom of the one who acts on God’s Word. According to the Master, “He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock” (Luke 6:48).

It parallels what James 1:22-25 says: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

When your life is built on the Word, you’ll forever stand strong and tall, even in the midst of the harshest of storms. The Word of God will make you what God wants you to be, without you having to struggle. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:19; He said, “...Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” All they had to do was to follow, and He’ll make them a success. The Word will keep you in health, strength, and victory, and you’ll experience unprecedented progress, peace and prosperity in your life

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for your gracious, enlightening, and inspiring Word, which continually builds me up and sets me on an upward course. I’m completely yielded to the ministry of the Word, in study and meditation; therefore, I walk in health, strength, and victory, peace and prosperity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

How to make Homemade Mayonnaise in a blender
[Image: mayonnaise-004.jpg?resize=308%2C229&ssl=1]How to make mayonnaise at home in a blender
Homemade mayonnaise in a blender is very easy. The ingredients are what we have in the kitchen always. For this mayonnaise. I used five ingredients because I love Heinz mayonnaise and wanted a taste like that. I found that all the ingredients were available in my kitchen so, I used them and the result is very good.
Many people in Naija call every mayonnaise Bama but that’s not true because there are very many brands of mayonnaise in the market. I think Bama is a brand name for the mayonnaise that most people in Nigeria have in the kitchen. I love Bama mayonnaise and some other brands of mayonnaise but Heinz just gives me that balanced taste that makes me want to spread some more homemade mayonnaise on my bread.
With just a few ingredients, you can make very good mayonnaise. I added some more here but they are all optional as just eggs, lemon and vegetable oil can give us very good delicious homemade mayonnaise. The reason I add mustard and vinegar is just to increase the tanginess and make me know that ‘yes’ this is mayonnaise i’m enjoying, not margarine or butter.
Mayonnaise is a major ingredient in Nigerian Kitchens why? aside using as an instant hair conditioner, we use mayonnaise for salads. Aside that, who doesn’t like a mayonnaise spread on slices of bread and even when we make sandwiches in Nigeria, mayonnaise is an ingredient.
Instead of going shopping everytime we want to use mayonnaise on bread or salads or even our natural hair, why not just get a blender, combine the simple ingredients and blend to taste. That’s all.
INGREDIENTS:
To make 3 cups of mayonnaise, we need;
3 large eggs
450 ml soya oil or any vegetable oil of choice
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon of vinegar (Optional but necessary because of raw eggs used)
1/4 teaspoon of mustard (Optional)

HOW TO MAKE MAYONNAISE IN A BLENDER
When your mayonnaise is homemade, you are very sure of what you put inside and can control the quantity and thickness to what you want.

 1. Add the eggs and lemon with other ingredients in a food blender.
 2. Blend for just 10 seconds before you stop and start adding the oil gradually as you blend.
 3. Check the taste and thickness of your lovely mayonnaise, blend until it becomes light in colour and stop adding the oil once you are ok with the consistency of your blender  homemade mayonnaise
 4. Pour already made mayonnaise  in a sterile container. Because you added vinegar, you need to let the mayonnaise stand for a while to enable the vinegar kill any bacteria in the raw egg  before storing for use. It’s not recommended that we eat raw eggs because of the risk of salmonella, that’s why it’s important to add vinegar to help with the raw eggs.
 5. You can pour in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. Do not freeze your homemade mayonnaise please. If your fridge is cold and you are sure of electricity, keep in the fridge.

How to make plate moi moi that tastes like leaf moi moi
[Image: nigerian-plate-moi-moi.jpg?resize=513%2C347&ssl=1]Hot moi moi like butter just removed from 2 plates. Leave to cool a bit and harden. For me, I like it fluffy and hot.
Here is how to make plate moi moi that tastes like leaf moi, I had to make the moi moi using both broad moi moi leaves and moi moi plates. Plate moi moi here is moi  moi made using bowls like the moi moi bowls sold at markets that have come to help those who have tried but can’t really wrap  in leaves.
Nigerians started making moi moi in plates (bowls) long ago but I never bothered even though that’s an easier moi moi making method. The reason is that I feel leaf moi moi has that natural leaf taste that makes it better for me and my family. I also felt like cooking  in leaves adds more nutrients.
HOW TO MAKE PLATE MOI MOI, COOKING  IN PICTURES:
[Image: moi-moi-with-plates-002.jpg?resize=340%2C255&ssl=1]Plates lined with leaves before pouring in the batter
[Image: moi-moi-with-plates-003.jpg?resize=365%2C248&ssl=1]moi moi in plates arranged in a pot on the stove. This is how to make
[Image: moi-moi-with-plates-008.jpg?resize=323%2C228&ssl=1]The ones lined with leaves tasted like moi moi wrapped in leaves
[Image: moi-moi-with-plates-018.jpg?resize=330%2C213&ssl=1]Here is how to make moi moi in plates and leaves for the beginner
[Image: plate-moi-moi.jpg?resize=339%2C254&ssl=1]Corned beef and egg made the meal really delicious[Image: moi-moi-with-plates-047.jpg?resize=306%2C276&ssl=1]Moi moi like butter cooked in plates, loaded with corned beef and garnished with boiled eggs. Served hot!
Why we made moi moi with plates that taste like leaf moi moi

My daughter didn’t want to learn how to wrap with leaves and just wanted the easy method of pouring blended beans in bowls and cooking the moi moi with ease. While teaching her how to make moi moi with plates, I had to think of a way to incorporate the leafy moi moi flavour into the plate moi moi and that’s how we lined the moi moi bowls with leaves. Very thankful that I thought of this because when the moi moi was cooked, the ones lined with leaves got rushed because the taste was exactly like when you wrap and cook in leaves.
When moi  moi plates are lined with leaves before adding the blended beans, the cooking has a way of making it taste like leaf moi moi. I don’t know how but it tastes  just like it. If you like moi moi cooked with leaves but cannot wrap, don’t worry. or stress.
Use both your moi moi leaves and the bowls to get that natural original Nigerian moi moi flavour plus the nutrients in the leaves make this method a healthier option.
First, let me explain how to make moi moi using plates (Bowls) before we show how to line moi moi plates with leaves for original moi moi taste.

Before you make moi moi in plates
[Image: moi-moi-with-plates-031-1.jpg?resize=339%2C236&ssl=1]
Before we get to where the blended beans is poured into plates , the steps are simple.
So, before you start greasing plates for moi moi, first ensure that the beans is washed quickly using a blender to skin and rinse. Next, you blend the washed beans with red bell pepper (Tatashey and onion. After blending,  add your salt and beef seasoning cubes to taste. Add vegetable oil. Here we used soya oil. Stir well and add warm water till you get a consistency as light as pancake batter.
Blend the beans in batches, small quantity at a time to avoid ruining your food blender.

 • First step with using moi moi plates is to wash the aluminium plates or any other plate ou chose o usei, grease lightly and set aside

Get the moi moi bowls lightly greased to prevent your moi moi sticking to the bowls during cooking. To see how to wash beans for moi moi, we have a post already explaining that. For other moi moi making options like making moi moi with old ceramic tea mugs or in disposable cups, we have all the different recipes on the blog already.
Let’s start cooking

INGREDIENTS FOR MY MOI MOI IN PLATES THAT TASTES LIKE LEAF MOI MOI
We used the following ingredients to make 12 plates (bowls) of moi moi
 • 2 cups beans
 • 2 small sized red onion
 • 4 large red bell peppers
 • 2 beef seasoning cubes
 • 1 cup vegetable oil. We used soya oil here.
 • 1 small can exeter corned beef
 • 5 hard boiled eggs cut into pieces
 • Salt to taste
 • pieces of moi moi leaves for lining the plates.

To make your plate moi moi taste like local Nigerian moi moi, just cut the leaves and line the plates before pouring in your blended beans for cooking.
HOW TO MAKE NIGERIAN MOI MOI WITH PLATES (BOWLS)
 • Now you have blended the washed beans with peppers and onion to a very smooth paste.
 •  Check for taste and thickness. Should be a light consistency like pancake batter like I mentioned earlier.
 • Pour in the vegetable oil and stir very well to mix.
 • Add seasoning cubes and salt to taste, feel free to add more peppers if you want.
 • Add the corned beef in bits and stir gently. Check again for salt and adjust if more is needed.
 • Using a scoop, pour small quantities of the blended beans into the bowls but do not fill them because while cooking, moi moi rises. Just pour half way or cover about three quarters of the bowl and leave room for rising.
 • Drop in the hard boiled eggs or pieces like we used here.
 • Put the lids on the moi moi plates, arrange in layers in a deep cooking pot .
 • Add hot water to the bottom of the pot, the water shouldn’t cover your moi moi bowls so it doesn’t boil into them. Water should get to the middle of the plates seated on the bottom of the cooking pot.
 • Turn on the heat and leave to cook for 35 to 45 minutes. Plate moi moi cooks faster than the ones wrapped in leaves.
 • Check for doneness, turn off the heat and your delicious cooked moi moi sit for a few minutes and cool a bit before serving. You can heat hot if you prefer it soft because cooling hardens them.

Quote:A man pranked his girlfriend by setting up a dummy to make it look like he had another woman in the house. The girlfriend's reaction when she walked in will have you watching the video multiple times.

In the viral video, the man can be seen putting the dummy in place as he awaited the arrival of his girlfriend. He then lay back on a chair and waited until he heard her footsteps.

When he noticed she was approaching, he stood and got close to the dummy, touching it, as though he were handling a woman.

His girlfriend walked in on this sight and didn't miss a bit. She immediately leaped towards the man and the "side chick", jumping them in one swift, athletic move. As she did, she raised her feet and kicked the dummy's head.

Her quick reaction has amused Instagram users but what people find most amusing is the kick she aimed at the head of the "side chic". Most said if the dummy were a real woman she would have suffered some serious injuries.

President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, on Monday, paid a visit to Senator Ike Ekweremadu at his Abuja residence, Igbere TV reports.

The visit comes after Senator Ekweremadu returned to the country from Germany, and barely 48 hours after an assault on him.

Igbere TV had reported that Ekweremadu was physically assaulted in Germany, on Saturday, by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The former Deputy Senate President was invited as a guest speaker at the 2nd Annual Igbo Cultural Festival in Nuremberg, when the assault took place.

Other dignitaries who visited the lawmaker include Senator Chris Ngige, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji, Hon. Kingsley Ebenyi, Senator Gil Nnaji, among others.

Meanwhile, Igbere TV had reported that Senator Ike Ekweremadu said he has forgiven his attackers and would not be seeking their punishment.

Speaking to journalists at the Abuja Airport, on Monday, the Senator said the attack was not a representation of the character of Nigerians both at home and abroad.

He, therefore, advised Nigerians and Igbo leaders to feel free to travel to any part of the world they wish, reiterating that he has since put the issue behind him.

Ondo health school students allegedly gang-rape mate
[Image: 5d5b8253ea575.jpg]
Three students of the School of Health and Technology in Ondo state's capital Akure, have been arrested by the state's police command for allegedly gang-raping their schoolmate.

The suspects identified as Damilola Aderoboye, Charles Eyitayo and Blessing Michael have been transferred to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the command for investigation following their arrest over the sad incident which occurred at the residence of the victim’s boyfriend on Wednesday August 14.

“We have commenced investigation into the matter, and after the investigation, the suspect will be charged" Femi Joseph, the state police spokesperson said.

Recounting how she got subjected to gang-rape, the victim said

“I was in the room when the three men forced their way in and pounced on me. I was shocked when they entered the room and they asked me to take off my dress and lay on the bed with my back.

“I begged them to leave me alone, but they refused. They asked one of them to forcefully undress me and before I knew what was happening, the three of them had raped me.

“They threatened me that they had the recording of the action and would upload the footage on the social media if I told anyone about it.

“But I could not keep the trauma to myself and I had to tell one of my friends, who reported the issue to the police and the boys were tracked and arrested.

“I knew one of them, Eyitayo, who had once asked me out, but I rejected his advances. I have to speak out now because I cannot keep it to myself and I really want justice. Those boys took advantage of and abused me.”

The school's provost, Dr Felix Olawoye also stated that the male students will get punished by the school’s disciplinary committee.

“The suspected student rapists have been arrested and as an institution, we believe that the law must take its rightful course after which the school’s disciplinary committee will also present its recommendations to the political head, the Commissioner for Health. We don’t tolerate any form of indiscipline,” he said.I'm

US Customs officers have seized nearly four tons of marijuana worth $2.3 million hidden in a consignment of jalapeno peppers. A sniffer dog alerted officers to a trailer with a shipment of peppers in San Diego on the border with Mexico.

According to the Customs and Border Protection, “a 37-year-old male Mexican citizen entered the port of entry driving a tractor pulling a trailer with cargo manifested as jalapeno peppers.” Officers at Otay Mesa cargo facility found 314 packages of marijuana weighing 7,560 pounds (3.4 tonnes) mixed among the jalapeno peppers.

“I am proud of the officers for seizing this significant marijuana load,” said Otay Mesa Port director Rosa Hernandez. The acting Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Mark Morgan also shared image of the seized marijuana on his verified Twitter handle and hailed the officers for a job well done.

CBP has seized 113 tons (103 tonnes) of marijuana so far this year, along with 41 tons of cocaine and 27 tons of methamphetamine. In July authorities seized nearly 20 tons of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $1 billion from a ship at the port of Philadelphia in one of the largest drug busts in US history.

Peak Male Performance Now the basics are in place it's on to steps 3 and 4 to really get your libido enhanced and your sex drive up. Step 4 - Targeting Optimum Sexual Health There are a few supplements you need to take to target total sexual health. Firstly the most common cause of mild erectile dysfunction is lack of nitric oxide. This chemical is the one that relaxes the walls of the blood vessels to allow sufficient blood to flow in and create an erection so you need it! You can get it by taking L Arginnine which is naturally produced by the body (but declines with age) to give you a top up of this vital chemical. Another good source is the ancient Chinese herb Horny Goat Weed. Add these two supplements in and you will find they work. In a test 90% of men taking these two supplements together reported better sex drive and increased sexual satisfaction. https://www.alertpills.com/peak-male-performance/

WHATSAPP DOWN: MAJOR OUTAGE LEAVES SOME USERS UNABLE TO SEND OR RECEIVE MESSAGES

Whatsapp has stopped working properly for a large number of both Android and iOS users, leaving some unable to send messages.
Those trying to use the app in the American cities New York and Boston, appeared to be suffering problems, while on the US west coast, people were experiencing problems in San Francisco and Los Angeles, according to Downdetentor.com a site that monitors outages on social media.

Users in the Canadian cities of Toronto and Vancouver were also affected.

Elsewhere a number of users in Brazil reported problems, while parts of Europe including areas of Spain and the Netherlands appeared to be having problems with the messaging app.

DownDetector reported that the problems began shortly before 7pm EST in the US, or midnight in the UK.

With such outages, it is impossible to know how long each lasts, since the services opt not to be very transparent about the problems or what could have caused them.

Often, they are fixed within less an hour, sometimes within minutes. Even a short outage can affected tens of millions of users.

Unlike many other major services, WhatsApp does not maintain a status page to allow people to check whether its systems are online. It does have a Twitter account that was once used to alert people to issues, but it has not been used for five years.
Users seemed fairly philosophical about the latest outage

One called Gabriella tweeted: "I think it was a warning from the universe."
Other said they would move to rival messaging service, Telegram.
Last month Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all stopped working properly. All three of the apps simultaneously started to suffer for problems and unusually, the services did not simply go down, or stop working for some users.
Instead, specific parts of the apps have stopped working: both WhatsApp and Facebook are struggling to show photos, for instance, and other parts of them are showing error message

Can I cut a synthetic wig?
User Avatar Forum: Market Place
Posted by: Ivy Wang - 08-20-2019, 03:07 AM - No Replies

Cutting a wig is not the same thing as cutting your own hair. If your wig isn't looking good, you might not like it and throw it in the trash.

If you're not a hairstylist, it's recommended that you wear a straight synthetic wig, considering the size of your synthetic wig budget. If you want to cut your own hair at home, here's a tutorial for you.
1. Put the wig on the wig rack and hold it in place with several t-pins.Please check if the wig rack is vertical to ensure symmetry! If necessary, clean your wig, comb your hair to make it smooth, and spray hair removal spray from root to tip to remove tangles.
2. Divide the hair into two sections from the middle of the wig and clip each section so you can focus on one section at a time.Move your fingers down your hair until they reach your desired length.
3. Cut your hair at a 40-degree Angle with a good quality hair clipper. This will remove some volume from the ends and create a more natural line to avoid popping up and looking strange.First, keep your hair short by 1 to 2 inches, if there is any accident, it is helpful for you to repair and trim your hair.
4. Try putting your hair between your middle and index fingers so it flattens out rather than clumps together.Carefully cut a little piece, pay attention to your fingers. The smaller and lighter the cut, the more natural your wig will look.
5.Continue to loosen each area and carefully trim to the desired length.Trim your entire wig until all ends are the same length. At the same time, you can trim your bangs to remove any loose hair you miss in the process.
You can decide if you want to go ahead with styling, layering, side bangs, etc., or if you're thinking of a new hairstyle, you can consult a wig designer to help you trim your wig.
That's all for today's sharing. Bye!

  How to maintain synthetic wigs?
User Avatar Forum: Market Place
Posted by: Ivy Wang - 08-20-2019, 03:07 AM - No Replies

Nowadays, more and more people wear wigs, but not all of them know how to maintain wigs.Today, we're going to teach you what you can do to maintain a wig.

Things to do:
1.Be sure to maintain your synthetic wigs with specially designed hair products.
2.Be sure to comb your wig from top to bottom.Synthetic wigs are made of plastic. It's best to start at the top of the wig, brush it a few inches at a time, then comb it down gradually.
3. When buying a wig for the first time, be sure to choose the right color according to the sample. The only advantage of wearing a wig is that you can easily get the color you want without causing chemical damage to your hair.
Things not to do:
1. Don't use regular human shampoos, conditioners, and gels on your wigs, as they can build up on your wigs, shorten lifespan, and blunt hair fibers.
2.Don't comb your wig when it's wet, as this will damage hair fibers.Remember to use combs designed specifically for synthetic wigs, such as stainless steel combs.
3.Don't dye synthetic wigs.If you dye a synthetic wig, it will shorten its life span, and it may end up not being as colorful as you'd like, and the wig will dry out.(the life span of synthetic wigs is usually six months.)

4. Don't use heated styling tools, such as curlers.Synthetic wigs should not be exposed to high temperatures as this will damage and burn the hair fibers.Especially when cooking, be careful to keep your hair away from the oven, stove or grill.

37 FRSC Officials Arrested For Extortion

August 19, 2019

A joint inter-agency team led by the anti-corruption agency, ICPC, has arrested 37 officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for allegedly extorting money from motorists on Nigerian highways.
A statement by the ICPC spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa, on Monday, said the team comprised officials of ICPC, FRSC and the State Security Service (SSS).
The commission also said the team arrested five persons said to be agents of the corps officials in a sting operation carried out simultaneously in the six geo-political zones.

The ICPC said the team struck on Friday following the receipt of a complaint from the management of the Corps of massive extortion of money from motorists on the highways by its patrol teams.
The FRSC management had, in the complaint to the Commission, observed that incidents of extortion were rife in the six states of Kaduna, Bauchi, Abia, Rivers, Kogi, and Ogun.
”Based on this, the ICPC-led Team went into action and identified the notorious spots in each of the aforementioned states to include Aba in Abia State; Ahoada, Ajaokuta, Itori, Torro and Gwantu in Rivers, Kogi, Ogun, Bauchi, and the Kaduna states, respectively.

”13 FRSC officials and two civilians were arrested in Aba in the South-east while 24 other FRSC officials and three civilians were arrested from various spots on roads spread across the other geo-political zones.

”Findings from the Joint Inter-Agency Team indicated that various sums of money were found on the arrested Corps officials during the sting operations before they were taken into ICPC custody.

However, all the officials arrested and the three civilian accomplices have been granted administrative bail and will be prosecuted by the commission at the conclusion of investigations.

Falana: ‘Buhari Knows Those Causing Unrest In Nigeria'

Falana kicks as police disrupt planned event, 'arrest three'

Quote:by Precious Igbonwelundu

Activist lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) on Monday said the government of President Muhammadu Buhari knows those causing unrest in the country and should go after them.

He spoke at the Coalition for Revolution’s (CORE) working consultative assembly themed “Democracy, state repression and the state of insecurity in Nigeria,” held at the Lagos Centre, Oregun.

The event which was billed to start at 11 am did not commence as scheduled following obstruction by policemen said to have barricaded the venue and allegedly arrested three persons.

Condemning the alleged arrest as well as that of Omoyele Sowore and other #RevolutionNow protesters, Falana said the federal government should deploy security forces to tackle terrorism, banditry kidnapping and other crimes that breach public peace and not protesters.

He said: “Our right to assembly and associate peacefully in the country is constitutional. I want to assure you that we are going to ensure that all the rights of Nigerian people that we have fought for and won will not be allowed to be eroded by any regime in this country.

“When we were told that we will not be allowed to meet, my mind went back 30-years-ago when we had the Buhari, Babangida and other juntas. We defeated the regimes and I want to assure you all that any other dictator will not be allowed to raise their head again in Nigeria.

“I heard that about three persons have been arrested. But I want to assure you that after the programme, I will demand for their release because they have not committed any offence. I want to assure you that all those that were arrested and charged during the #RevolutionNow for unlawful assembly and peace will be given adequate defense at the court of law.

“The President Muhammadu Buhari led administration knows those that are breaching the peace of the country- terrorist, armed robbers, coup plotters and others.

“Those who went to the street to protest in exercise of their right to assembly and complain against injustice, corruption and maladministration in the country cannot be said to have breached the law of the country.

“Therefore, the man (Sowore) who was arrested and detained before the protest will be adequately defended at the law court. This is because he has committed no offense.”

Falana reminded the gathering how Nigerians fought for their rights even under the colonial era, recalling how nationalists like Chief Anthony Enahoro chaired lectures organised on the need for revolution.

“So, let the authority in Abuja know that the call for revolution is not new in Nigeria. Political leaders in this country have over time called for revolution and they have never been arrested and prosecuted. If there is a mistake now, such must be corrected. This country belongs to all of us.
“Before today, they claimed that we must not engage in any activity on the street. We are trying to gather inside the hall, they claimed that we cannot do that. But because of our resolve, we won.

“Revolution is not a dinner party. It is a serious, rigorous and consistent battle for the soul of a country like Nigeria. Therefore, what we have done is a mere declaration of our resolve.

“The struggle is going to be in pains and it will require time. But I believe that we have started and there is no going back. What we have done is to challenge the Nigerian people to appreciate the enormity of crisis of underdevelopment that is confronting the country.

“We do not have revolution yet in Nigeria. But there are revolutionary pressure in Nigeria. We must seize the advantage of the moment and mobilise Nigerians on the need for revolution; tell them that it will come sooner than later.

“We all should have hope in the exercise. We have to go round the country and tell Nigerians. Nigeria occupies a prominent place globally. It is the only country with the largest concentration of black race. So, if we fail to get it right in Nigeria, the black race is doomed.

“That is why we all must declare our resolve to double our energy towards achieving the aim of revolution for the country,” he said.

Also at the event were Femi Aborisade, Seun Kuti, Martin Onovo, former governorship candidate for the National Conscience Party (NCP) Funsho Awe and former student unionist Lanre Legacy.

In his remark, Onovo expressed dissatisfaction over the state of affairs in the country, demanding the president’s resignation because his government “has failed.”

He lamented that Nigeria had the worst police in the world, attributing same to the mayhem being wreaked by murderous herdsmen.

“We understand how herdsmen have become the greatest threat overtaking Boko Haram. The government has failed and the leader of the government must resign. There is no democracy in Nigeria.”

Awe said there was need to correct all the bad things noticed in the country, adding that the time was right for revolution.
For Kuti, the movement was fighting for the collective interest of Nigerians and the country’s future.

“We all need to wake the citizens up to understand their rights. Until the people of Nigeria are ready to save themselves, no one will safe them. We all have the right to peaceful protest. We must demand for the release of Sowore today,” he said.

Aborishade accused the President of criminalising the people’s constitutional right to peaceful protest, noting that it was constitutional for citizens to revolt against any policy that affects them.

“The failure of government to provide employment violates the dictates of the constitution. President Muhammadu Buhari is criminalising the rights of the people. If they say that I am a terrorist for asking for free medical care for the masses, free education for all, then, I am guilty for that and will like to be prosecuted.

“I demand that Sowore and others be released by the government. Nigeria has been turned to prison. We will ensure that the citizens enjoy the tenets of democracy. The law is taller than the president. I refuse to live in any society that is governed by the whims and caprices of the president and not the constitution. We reject enslavement,” he said.

However, the police denied obstructing the gathering nor arresting anyone, insisting they were at the venue to maintain the peace.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of Operations Mohammed Ali told The Nation on telephone that it was normal to deploy cops to avoid any breakdown of law and order.

“It is not true that the police disrupted their gathering. They were billed to have a press conference and they did. There was no disruption whatsoever and I do not have information of any arrest there,” he said.

Ekweremadu: Shehu Sani lists 4 safety steps public office holders should take when invited abroad

Quote:It is no longer news that Ike Ekweremadu, a former deputy Senate President, was assaulted when he attended a cultural festival in Germany at the weekend.

Mr Ekweremadu was attacked by members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) for allegedly contributing to proscribe the group demanding an independent state of Biafra.

After the tussle, the leader of the secessionist group, Nnamdi Kanu, said the treatment meted out to the Enugu-born lawmaker was a far cry from what his group plan to do to other leaders from the geo-political zone.

Advising public office holders on security measures to take whenever they are invited abroad for engagement, Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, listed four points they must take to ensure their safety.

Mr Sani advised the public office holders to turn down any invitation abroad if their security is not guaranteed.

“My Advice to public office holders; Whenever you are invited abroad take the following steps; Call Abike Dabiri to verify, Call Farooq Kperogi to attest, Call the embassy to vet, Send your protocol staff to cross check; If no green light, just chill at home,” the former lawmaker said in a tweet Monday.

While Mrs Dabiri who heads Nigerians in Diaspora Commission condemned the attack, saying the culprits have been arrested, Mr Kanu said none of the members of his group who staged the attack has been apprehended.

Alhaji Salisu Garba-Kubayo, Chairman, Kirikasamma Local Government, who spoke on the development, said that the houses collapsed “during heavy rainfall”.
“Three persons – a mother, Halima Manu, her daughter, Aisha Manu, and son, Dauda Manu, were killed in Kuraduge village, while a man, Musa Wuliwuli, and his wife, Hauwa Musa, were killed in Madachi village.
“The rain also destroyed 200 houses in Kukadabu, 100 houses in Mattafari and 30 houses in Kuraduge,” he said, adding that most parts of the local government were affected by the flood disaster.

He called on the state and the federal governments to come to the aid of the victims.
“As we speak, more than 30 villages in Kirikasamma have been taken over by flood as a result of heavy rain.
“We have provided thousands of sacks to residents of these villages to erect sandbag embankments to check the flood; they have spent days and nights doing this.

“But, containing this problem is beyond our capacity; we want the Jigawa and Federal Government to come to our aid,” he pleaded

Angry side Chick Burns Down The house Of Her Boo After He called Her For Sex

August 19, 2019

A New Jersey woman identified as Taija Russell, 29, has been arrested and accused of burning a man’s house after he invited her over for late-night sex, then fell asleep before she arrived.

Taija Russell was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fire that destroyed a home earlier this month, said Woodbury police.

Police accuse Russell of sending a series of angry texts to her ‘man’ before she burned his house. Some of the texts she sent on the night of the incident includes, “You wasted my money to come out here,” “U smoked,” “I see you wanna die,” and “I swear to god I hope you die,” police said.
The man told police he’d invited Russell to his home “and stated that she was a ‘side chick’ whom he had been having a sexual relationship with”. The victim woke up around 4:30 a.m. to find flames blocking the exit from his smoke-filled residence. He escaped by physically removing a window frame and climbing through the opening, police said.
He was taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation and first- and second-degree burns, according to police. His dog was also rescued and treated for smoke inhalation.

Surveillance video captures Russell buying matches, a lighter and lighter fluid from a local gas station. From there, another camera shows her knocking on his door around 4 a.m. Russell is being held on charges of attempted murder, aggravated arson, endangering and criminal mischief.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today August 19th, arraigned Mrs. Isabella Oshodin and Bob Oshodin Organisation Ltd before Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja on a 25-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N22,964,228,414 (Twenty-two Billion, Nine Hundred and Sixty-four Million, Two Hundred and Twenty-eight Thousand Four Hundred and Fourteen Naira).

According to a press statement from the antigraft agency, Oshodin is alleged to have on 16 occasions, received the sums of N500,000,000; N750,000,000; N125,000,000; N350,000,000; N170,000,000; N85,000,000; N60,000,000; N50,000,000 and others which totalled N2,366,000,000 (Two Billion, Three Hundred and Sixty Six Million Naira) from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA under then NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).

EFCC in its statemet, said investigations further revealed that Oshodin on eight occasions received from Dasuki’s ONSA sums totalling $57,217,301.15 (Fifty-seven Million, Two Hundred and Seventeen Thousand, Three Hundred and One US Dollars, Fifteen Cents) into the Escrow accounts of Bob Oshodin Organisation Ltd.

Count two of the charges reads

Quote:“That you, Mrs. Isabela Mimie Oshodin, Bob Oshodin Organisation Ltd and Mr. Robert (Bob) Oshodin (still at large) on or about 22nd June, 2014 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court directly transferred the sum of $7,712,598 (Seven Million, Seven Hundred and Twelve Thousand, Five Hundred and Ninety-eight Dollars) to one Portfolio Escrow Company with account number 3102004330 domiciled in California Republic Bank, United States of America which sum you reasonably ought to have known to be proceed of an unlawful act of Sambo Dasuki (rtd), the then National Security Adviser to wit: criminal breach of trust and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15 (2) (b) of the Money Laundering (Provision) Act, 2011as amended in 2012 and punishable under Section 15(3) of the same Act.”

He pleaded “not guilty” to the charges when read to her.

In view of her plea, prosecuting counsel, Aisha Tahar Habib prayed the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial.

Quote:“I have noticed my lord the second defendant is not represented, notwithstanding, in view of the first defendant’s plea of not guilty, I will like to ask for a date for trial,” she said.

However, counsel for the defendant, Osahor Odemodia, informed the court of the bail application for his client, and urged the court to grant her bail on liberal terms, pending the commencement of trial.

But Habib opposed the application for bail, informing the court of a counter-affidavit filed on July 10, 2019, and so urged the court to refuse her bail, and instead, give the case accelerated hearing.

The trial judge, thereafter, adjourned to August 21, 2019 and ordered the defendant to be remanded in EFCC custody pending the ruling on the bail application.

Order EFCC to release my $40m jewellery- Diezani Alison-Madueke tells Lagos court

Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, has filed an appeal at the Federal High Court Lagos for the reversal of an interim order secured by the EFCC for the interim forfeiture of her 2,149 pieces of jewellery and a customised gold iPhone all valued at $40m, seized by the antigraft agency last month.

Recall that on July 5th, the agency secured an interim order to confiscate the former Minister's jewelries and iphone which is believed to be proceeds from acts of corruption perpetrated while she was in office.

In an application filed by her counsel, Professor Awa Kalu, Diezani who is currently in the United Kingdom, accused the EFCC of entering her apartment illegally and taking the items without any court order. She said the anti-graft agency violated her fundamental “right to own property and to appropriate them at her discretion,” under sections 43 and 44 of the Constitution.

She urged the court to reject the prayer by the EFCC to permanently forfeit the jewellery and the gold iPhone to the Federal Government.

According to the court papers, the jewelleries categorised into 33 sets, include “419 expensive bangles; 315 expensive rings; 304 expensive earrings; 267 expensive necklaces; 189 expensive wristwatches; 174 expensive necklaces and earrings; 78 expensive bracelets; 77 expensive brooches; and 74 expensive pendants.”

The former Minister argued that the entry into her apartment by EFCC operatives was illegal as it was without a court order.

Justice Nichola Oweibo adjourned the case till August 29.

Your tree has matured, enjoy its bitter fruit - Reno Omokri mocks Wole Soyinka as police seal off venue of his press conference

Today, Lagos State police command sealed off the venue of a symposium where Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka and other speakers where to address the state of insecurity in the country.

The programme organised by a group known as Coalition for Revolution (CORE) was billed to hold at 46, Ibijoke street, Oluyole bus-stop, Oregun, Lagos.  Femi Falana, human rights lawyer, Affiong Affiong, a lawyer, and Femi Aborishade, an activist, has as its theme: “Democracy, State Repression and the State of insecurity in Nigeria”.

Reacting to the situation on Twitter, Reno Omokri, a former presidential media aide wrote, 'Wole Soyinka co-created the Frankenstein monster that General Buhari has become with his 'anyone but Jonathan' mantra. Now Jonathan  is OUT of POWER and Soyinka is OUT of FREEDOM and he wants us to come OUT on the streets?  No. Enjoy your monster!

Quote:So disappointed that a Professor, who is also a Nobel Laureate, expected a man of doubtful school certificate to be his messiah. Soyinka is crying dictatorship? Dry your crocodile tears. You produced & directed the nightmare starring General Buhari.
Soyinka and co removed Jonathan, whose "political ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian" and CROWNED Buhari, who threatened that "the dog and baboon will be soaked in blood" and they are surprised when there is blood all over Nigeria?
Herdsmen who STEAL, KILL and DESTROY, held a meeting in Zamfara to explain why they decided to kill Nigerian citizens, and General Buhari did not shut down the venue.
But he shuts Soyinka's venue. Imagine! Anyway, Soyinka’s is reaping what he sowed. Dear Wole Soyinka,  Are you not endorsing again? What happened to your romance with General Buhari ? Have you forgotten 'anyone but Jonathan'? Have you forgotten when you were campaigning for Buhari? Your tree has matured. Enjoy its bitter fruit!

The Big Brother Naija reality TV show continues with more fun and twists from the housemates. Last Sunday Live eviction show saw another two housemates evicted from the show.
Joe and Enkay were evicted from Big Brother house after the pulled the least number of votes from the fans. Shortly after a game of chance was played where Elozonam won the Veto Power to save and replace.

In another game, Esther has won the Head of House after making it to the last round of the game between herself and Elozonam. As the new head of house, Esther would have access to the HoH suite.
She chose Frodd to be a beneficiary of the Head of House privilege.

President Trump confirms Mike Pence will be his running mate in 2020

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday, August 18th said he would keep Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate when he seeks re-election in November 2020.

“I’m very happy with Mike Pence,” Trump, who is expected to easily win the Republican nomination for a second term, told reporters before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey.

At the formal launch of his 2020 campaign, Donald Trump vowed to deliver another “earthquake at the ballot box” in 2020, speaking before 20,000 cheering supporters in Orlando, Florida.

The US president warned that “the swamp” he had vowed to drain during his 2016 campaign was “fighting back so viciously and violently” that he needed another four years in office.  Mr Trump boasted of his presidential achievements including creating a US economy that was “the envy of the world”, declaring: “The American dream is back.”

He also painted the Democratic Party, his political opponents, as “radical socialists”, warning: “They want to destroy you, they want to destroy our country as we know it.”  The rally in a key swing state was well received among supporters in the stadium, who cheered and jeered at Trump’s punch lines – including repeatedly booing the “fake news” media.

#BBNaija: “If I decide to set my eye on you, Khafi will not stand a chance” - Venita tells Gedoni (Video)

Following last night's eviction of Joe and Enkay from the Big Brother Naija house and Ebuka’s chat with the housemates during the Live Eviction Show, Venita stated that she was not happy with the fact that Khafi told others about their 'little misunderstanding'.

This was evident in her conversation with Gedoni where she vented her anger to him and said “If I decided to set my compass on you, she (Khafi) will not stand a chance.”

Confused and short of words, Gedoni’s solution was to offer Venita a hug which calmed her down a bit, but Venita was not done yet.

Popular Pastor, Zabulon Buthelezi impregnates Zion Christian Church leader's wife

Popular South African televangelist, Pastor Zabulon Buthelezi has been accused of impregnating the wife of a community leader and member of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) in Boksburg.

Narrating how his wife denied him sex for 6 years while allegedly giving it to the televangelist on the side, the ZCC leader alleged that his wife of 20 years also abused him emotionally by insisting on bathing naked in his presence without allowing him touch her. He disclosed that his wife backed her refusal to give in to his conjugal rights by citing the differences in their religious belief.

In the affidavit filed at Boksburg magistrate's court, the jilted man also accused the founder of Revelations of Christ Apostolic Mission Church of threatening his life when he confronted him with proof.

The ZCC leader also stated he never suspected his wife was in an amorous relationship with Pastor Zabulon Buthelezi even with his repeated visits to their house, till he overheard his wife telling their daughter that she was in love with him.

Quote:"Every time I tried to touch her, she would parry my hand and threaten to open a case of rape against me if I continued to try my luck.
"I was not aware of their relationship and that my wife was pregnant by Pastor Buthelezi. After a few days I realised when my wife was speaking to my daughter that she is in love with Pastor Buthelezi" he said.
"He said he has a lot of beautiful women at his church, and he is going to deal with me because I dirtymark (sic) his name," he wrote in his court papers.

Sunday World reported that Buthelezi refused to subject himself to a paternity test to determine if he was the father to the man's wife's child born on June 22. The popular South African Pastor and the man's wife also declined commenting on the case already in court.

The case was adjourned to September for the court to determine if the founder of Revelations of Christ Apostolic Mission Church will be forced to go through the paternity test.

Police seal venue of #RevolutionNow summit in Lagos (Photos)

Officials of the Lagos State Police Command on Monday, August 19th sealed the venue of a gathering of pro-RevolutionNow activists to discuss the affairs of the nation.

According to reports, scores of well armed police officers from the command invaded the venue of the gathering very early in the morning and barricaded the entrance of 46 Ibijoke Street, Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria. Activists and journalists who arrived the area were driven far away as no one could access the venue.

Activist, Femi Falana and others were supposed to speak at the gathering aimed at discussing a repressive regime and wanton insecurity in the nation but armed policemen were  on ground and made sure no one gained entrance into the venue.
Activists and journalists were however emboldened to come closer to the venue of the event when Falana arrived and had discussion with the police officers. Falana told them that the Commissioner of Police did not have the right to stop a peaceful gathering anywhere in the state.

The leader of the police team, Sodiq Yusuf however told Falana that they were acting on the order of the police commissioner not to allow anyone into the venue in order to avoid violence. Falana assured them that as long as he is around, there would not be violence, but Yusuf insisted that he must get clearance from his boss first and then after sometimes, he came back to say that the commissioner of police had now permitted them into the venue, but not until after thorough screening of those going inside the venue.

Journalists and others were later allowed in after showing of identity cards.

Kenya deports Nigerian, Dibia Obinna linked with drugs and human trafficking

A Nigerian man identified as Dibia Obinna has been deported by Kenyan authorities, after police accused him of being a drug and human trafficker.

His deportation followed his arrest in Nairobi and after interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi signed the deportation order, reported The Standard newspaper. Obinna also known as Agumuo Nnamdi was arrested after being on the run for a month when immigration and police announced they wanted him for questioning in connection with an incident in which 27 Nigerians were seized from an apartment in Kilimani area of Nairobi last month.

The 27 Nigerians were deported immediately. They had entered Kenya as businessmen when officials were alerted. Officials said Obinna is linked to cases of drug trafficking and human trafficking in the region.

He posed as a consultant to Nigerian high commissioner and chairman of Igbo community in Kenya. He was initially linked to another Nigerian, Anthony Chinedu who was deported in 2013 over drug trafficking claims.

The Standard reported that the police were puzzled how he managed to evade police web in the last few years, amidst a campaign to remove suspected illegal immigrants engaged in criminal activities. More than 1,000 foreigners have been deported from the country in the past two years in a campaign that officials say is aimed at sanitizing Kenya. Most of them were in the country illegally and were engaged in illegal activities including drug trafficking and gambling

Ekweremadu Attack: PDP were the main cheerleaders of IPOB and they owe this country an apology  - APC

The APC while condemning the shameful assault on former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Nuremberg, Germany says the opposition party, PDP owes the country an apology for its support to IPOB in the past.

In a statement signed by APC's national publicity secretary Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC said, 'It is clear that PDP and its other shortsighted co-travelers who were the main cheerleaders of IPOB owe this country an apology. IPOB hid under regional identity to perpetrate criminality having recruited some misguided elements and miscreants'.

See the full statement below....

Quote:The All Progressives Congress (APC) strongly condemns the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu, immediate past Senate President and serving Senator by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany.
Those involved in the despicable actions and the organisation they represent are unworthy in character. No Nigerian should be assaulted in the manner Senator Ekweremadu was.
It is an indecent action and it is below the acceptable standard of behaviour expected of our citizens whether in Nigeria or abroad. It is however regrettable that some of the people and organizations who had offered these irresponsible elements open support in the past are raising their voices now. It would be recalled that the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leaders chose to play politics over a matter that called for collective patriotic actions when IPOB raised a terror group in the South East.
It is clear that PDP and its other shortsighted co-travelers who were the main cheerleaders of IPOB owe this country an apology. IPOB hid under regional identity to perpetrate criminality having recruited some misguided elements and miscreants.
Are we surprised by the PDP's hypocritical reaction to the unfortunate attack on Senator Ekweremadu? No! The PDP and their leaders have acted true to type. This is what happens when politicians become myopic and allow narrow sentiments becloud their sense of judgement.
We all have a responsibility to collectively rise against evil wherever we find it and in whatever guise it appears. We hope lessons have been learnt from this unfortunate incident. SIGNED

His spokesman, Israel Ibeleme said Amaechi was conferred with the honour at the Pope John Paul II Catholic Centre in Abuja for his service to the Order and humanity for over 20 years. He quoted Monsignor Kenneth Enang, in charge of the Pope John II Catholic Centre, as saying that the promotion was premised on Amaechi’s support toward the growth of the Catholic church.

Quote:“We want to thank you Knights of St John’s, all the other knights, college of knights for the work you are doing for the church. For the support we get from the Knights in many areas not only the financial support but the moral support.
”The Knights built the seminary we have now at Kuje when Cardinal Ekandem Dominic was alive and many of the Knights have built churches and handed over to the church. We ask God to bless you and your good works and let your labours not be in vain,” Enang was quoted as saying.

According to Ibeleme, the former minister, while accepting the honour, expressed joy for the promotion and thanked the leaders and grandmaster of the Knight for considering him and his friends worthy of the promotion.

A British man was left in a critical condition after he and his lover fell from a balcony while having sex.

The unnamed man, 30, and his Canadian lover, 28, were having a "passionate sex session" on a balcony that placed them in full glare of anyone watching. In the process, they fell 12ft in the resort of Le Cannet, near Cannes in the South of France.

They fell over the railings at around 12.30am on Saturday, August 17, and were rushed to Pasteur Hospital, Nice. The woman reportedly suffered minor injuries because she was cushioned by the man's body when they landed.

An investigator said: "The couple were seen making love on the balcony of their holiday rental flat. They were becoming very passionate indeed, and suddenly toppled from the first floor of the villa into the street below. Neighbours called the emergency services immediately."

Police are now investigating whether the couple were drunk or on drugs and nobody else is believed to have been involved.
