El-Zakzaky: Falana makes fresh demand from Buhari govt

Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), the lawyer to Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, has called the Federal Government to provide an alternative and adequate treatment for the couple in Nigeria.
The Senior lawyer also said that he would file a fresh application for El-Zakzaky and his wife to be re-flown abroad for treatment if his demand was not met.

The leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky on Friday returned to Nigeria, after refusing treatment in India.

Recall that El-Zakzaky, who is facing an 8-count charge in a case of homicide filed by the Kaduna State Government, was granted leave for medical treatment by a Kaduna High Court on Aug. 5.
Subsequently, El-Zakzaky and his wife travelled to India via Dubai for medical treatment after the Federal Government and relevant agencies took steps to comply with the order in spite of protestation by Kaduna State Government.

Falana, in a statement yesterday, said: “It is disturbing that the planned medical treatment of Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife in India was aborted and that they have since returned to Nigeria.
“However, in view of their critical health conditions, the El-Zakzakys and the Federal Government should urgently reach an understanding to facilitate their medical treatment in Nigeria.
“In other words, since the Federal Government is apparently not prepared to allow the couple to seek medical treatment abroad for fear that they may seek political asylum, the authorities should provide adequate medical equipment for their treatment in Nigeria without any further delay.

“The unfortunate episode had embarrassed the Federal Government and that Nigeria has become a laughing stock to the extent that her leaders and citizens (who have the financial wherewithal) have to travel abroad for medical treatment.
“For goodness sake in what way was the Indian Government offended by the insistence of the El-Zakzakys to be treated by doctors of their choice?”

Atiku vs Buhari: UK police, DSS petitioned over Cambridge certificate

The Department of State Services (DSS) and the London Metropolitan Police Service have received petitions to investigate the documents President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential election tribunal.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the February 23, presidential election,
Atiku Abubakar and his party had questioned the certificate.

Abba Kyari, Buhari’s chief of staff, had told the election tribunal that he obtained the president’s “assessment” documents from Cambridge University.
The separate petitions both dated August 14, 2019, and which were forwarded by a legal practitioner, Kalu Agu.
The lawyer questioned the authenticity of the “certifying statement” said to have been obtained from the Cambridge Assessment International Education.

He asked the UK police and the DSS to probe the following: “Where did Mr. Abba Kyari get the certificate which he enclosed alongside his application form for the issuance of the said certifying statement which he claimed he procured from Cambridge Assessment International Education.
“Whether Mr Abba Kyari as an individual can apply for the said certifying statement not being an academic institution or an employer of the candidate.
“Whether the said certifying statement can be delivered to Mr Abba Kyari by hand as he claimed he signed and personally collected same by hand in the UK.

“Evidence of the said application and of the candidate’s authorisation to the Cambridge Assessment International Education for the release of the said certifying statement to Mr Abba Kyari.”
He added that “in the circumstance that the certifying statement is found to be forged, it will be of great service to both Nigeria and the United Kingdom that Mr. Abba Kyari is arrested and arraigned in a court of competent jurisdiction for forgery.”
Atiku and PDP had in a 43-page final address filed by their lead counsel, Dr Levy Uzoukwu SAN, Atiku and PDP claimed to have established the fact that Buhari does not possess the requisite academic qualification for the position of President of Nigeria.

In Final address filed on August 14, the petitioners said even Buhari’s own witnesses under cross examination admitted to the fact that Buhari does not possess a school certificate, being the basic requirements for contesting for the office of the president.
“We therefore submit that all the purported evidence led by the 2nd respondent (Buhari) to prove that he attended a secondary school or a primary school or that he attended some courses, is irrelevant because he did not rely on any of those purported qualifications in exhibit P1, he relied on primary school certificate, WASC and Officer Cadet.
“Equally futile is his attempt to prove that he can speak and write in the English language. That is all irrelevant to his inability to produce his primary school certificate, secondary school certificate or WASC and his Officer Cadet qualification, whatever that means. Officer Cadet is not a qualification or certificate under the Constitution and Electoral Act; nor is it known to any law.

On the purported Cambridge University certificate tendered by Buhari before the tribunal, the petitioners asked why, “it was easier for Buhari to go all the way to Cambridge in the United Kingdom to obtain a bogus documents that his own witnesses said was not a certificate, instead of just driving down the street in Abuja to the Army Headquarters or placing a phone call to the Secretary of the Military Board in Abuja to hurry over with his certificate or certificates.”
Still on the Cambridge University documents, the petitioners submitted that, “A comparison of the purported Cambridge Assessment International Education Certifying Statement of the purported West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate and a certified true copy of the purported confidential result sheet of the University of Cambridge West African School Certificate of 1961 for the Provincial Secondary School, Katsina reveals many discrepancies in the suppose result.

The drugs were intercepted when its smugglers attempted to move them from Lagos to other parts of the country during the last the Eid-el-Kabir.  National Public Relations Officer (NPRO) of NCS, Assistant Comptroller Joseph Attah confirmed the seizure and further disclosed that the warehouse where the drugs were stocked was immediately sealed with a detachment of well armed officers to guard the place.

Quote:”On Aug. 13, at about 2 am, operatives of the Headquarters Strike Force Zone A intercepted a truck laden with dreaded codeine, tramadol and other controlled pain killers along Maryland, Ikeja road.
“The intercepted trailer contains illicit drugs and was immediately brought to the attention of the team leader of the force, Assist. Comptroller of Customs Usman Yahya, who deepened preliminary investigation that led to the discovery of a warehouse along Oshodi-Mile 2 road.
“The warehouse was stocked with tramadol, codeine and other unregistered pharmaceutical products without the National Agency for Foods Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) number,” Attah said.

According to them, the alleged killer came to the hotel at about 10 pm on Wednesday night and offered to pay Jennifer N10,000, which to her was a big deal.

The late Jennifer’s friends later raised alarm at about 8 am the next day.The killer had also stolen her phone and her money before fleeing the hotel.

According to one of her friends,” when the killer came into the hotel, he requested that Jennifer be called for her, describing her as “that neat girl”.

“Later Jennifer came and whispered to me that they had negotiated and settled for N10,000 for the night. I left them as the late Jennifer said the man had opted to sleep with her in her room.

“The next day, at about 8am, we found out that Jennifer had not woken up and when her door was opened, she was found Unclad with her hands tied behind her back with pillow case and another pillow case was used to tie her neck, perhaps to strangle her.”

Detectives from the homicide department of the state police command promptly arrested Jennifer’s friends for interrogation.

Her manner of her death was similar to the killing of Precious Ewuru in a hotel in D/Line about two weeks ago.

Nnamdi Omoni DSP and spokesman of the Rivers Police Command said a Task Force would be set up by the Command to enforce the directive that CCTV Cameras be installed in all hotels.

Provexum uk Race, creed, color or time in history seems to have little to do with gender male's preoccupation with his sexual prowess and penis health. The question remains why these pursuits tend to be conducted in a private manner. Whether a man is heterosexual, bisexual or gay, it appears to be a custom to keep sexual concerns private from others. It is truly unfortunate that men cannot openly discuss their sexual concerns or goals with their spouses, friends, and loved ones. The first step to male sexual enhancement and improvement of erectile issues due to medical and/or psychological factors is to remove sexual performance endeavors from the realm of covert isolation. Given that all men want some form or type of sexual enhancement or improvements, it is crucial to become comfortable with the decision to embark on improving erectile functions.  https://www.alertpills.com/provexum/

Wife Of Hero Who Died Saving 6 In Boat Mishap Cries: ‘rivers Gov’t Hasn’t Kept Promises

Mrs. Blessing Blackson is the wife of late Joe Blackson, who saved 13 passengers, but lost his life during a boat accident that claimed the lives of six persons, in July last year. One year after his death, the family of the unsung hero still misses their bread winner dearly.

Daily Trust: How has it been since the death of your husband?

Mrs. Blessing Blackson: Life has not been the same since I lost my husband. It has not been easy, especially because he was the father of the family and our breadwinner. His death has created a big vacuum in the family. All the same, we thank God for keeping us alive and for sustaining us.

DT: A few days after his death, the Rivers State governor promised automatic employment for you and also to take care of the children’s education. Have these promises been fulfilled?

Blackson: No. Nothing has been done. The promises haves not been fulfilled. DT: Why? Blackson: I don’t know. But I know that the governor is a good man and noted for keeping his promises. He is a very busy man and may have forgotten but I know that God will touch his heart to fulfill the promises made to this family.

DT: Have you made inquiries on why the promise is yet to be fulfilled?

Blackson: I have tried on my own to reach out to the government on this matter but nothing has happened yet. I have written letters which were addressed to the Chairman of Degema Local Government Council. I was also advised to meet the Head of Service. I tried severally but nothing has come my way. However, I was able to meet the Deputy Governor who advised me to write another letter to the governor on the promise. I have written the letter and the Deputy Governor promised to follow it up.

DT: I learnt that you set up a foundation in honour of your late husband

Blackson: Yes, I set up a foundation, as well as a swimming academy, which was launched on the 29th of last month to commemorate the one year anniversary of my husband’s death. The foundation is to teach both children and adults the rudiments of swimming in order to prevent what happened to my husband happening to others. I have started a process for the project but I need fund to implement it. I am working towards building an Olympic size swimming pool for the academy. I want to appeal to the state to come to our aid by fulfilling all the promises made to the family. My daughter will start school in September and I need fund to enroll her in school and also sustain my family.

2023: Northern Youths Endorse Tinubu, Carpet El-rufai Over Zoning
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 08-17-2019, 11:40 AM - No Replies

Northern youths under the auspices of United Northern Youth and Students (UNYS) have endorsed former Lagos State governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for Presidency in 2023.

The group also condemned the call by Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai for the abolition of power rotation in the country.

Coordinator of the youth group, Comrade Jabir Maiturare, who addressed a press conference in Kaduna on Friday, said Tinubu has contributed immensely to the North politically, particularly his coordination of the South West for an overwhelming support that brought about the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 as well as his re-election in 2019.

Maiturare said: “Let it be known that Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has not declared to contest for any position yet. Instead, he is solidly behind President Muhammadu Buhari and giving him the required support.

“In any case, whenever he seeks to contest for any position, including the presidency in 2023, we are ready to give him overwhelming support, and we therefore dissociate ourselves from such irresponsible act of some minority youth from the North.

“In the same vein, we wish to state categorically that Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai’s statement against the zoning arrangement in place is uncalled for and should not be given any serious thought because he speaks only for himself and not for the North.”

The group noted that Tinubu has shown himself as a man of integrity and a party man to the core, whose efforts and contribution to the party has produced good results over time.

Answers to Are You Wearing a Wig

The truth is, most of us aren't happy with how we look.Hair is an important part of our appearance, as long as you have the right hairstyle, everything is right. But there may also be moments when a stranger, or even a friend, asks a question like, "is that your real hair?""Are you wearing a wig?"Well, we hate these problems, but how do we deal with them? It's best to have a backup plan for these stupid people and awkward questions! Here we've gathered some answers for you to avoid, deflect or accept such questions.

1. Why do you ask?
Asking a question and letting them answer instead of you is always the quickest way to deal with an unpleasant question. When you ask them, "why do you ask that?"In most cases, they won't give a good answer soon, or any answer at all. They don't care about your feelings.Let them think how rude they might find themselves.
2. Yes, it's my hair.
You buy clothes, shoes, and many other things you need. They belong to you. They are yours! Why not hair?It doesn't matter if your hair grows out of your head, the hair you choose is your hair.
2. Why?Yes, it is. Thanks for asking!
There's no shame in wearing a wig!More and more people wear wigs, even though they have beautiful hair of their own.Use wigs as beautiful accessories and be proud of  their beauty!
4. Yes, it is.No, you can't touch it.
Hair is also part of the body, even if you only use it as a beauty accessory. When they're worn, they're in your personal space, and strangers and even good friends shouldn't just touch them out of curiosity or "fun."
5. Yes, it is.I love it!
There's no shame in wearing a wig!Just like clothes, shoes and earrings, fake send you bring beauty and confidence. You should be proud of such a good thing!Let the world know - you wear a wig, you love a wig!

What is a front lace wig?
User Avatar Forum: Market Place
Posted by: Ivy Wang - 08-17-2019, 11:12 AM - No Replies

Prelace false hair refers to a wig structure that attaches a transparent piece of lace (any shape) to the front of the wig.The hair is hand-woven on similar tops.Former lace wigs are popular for several reasons:

1. The lace part almost perfectly mimics the naturally growing wig and blends in with human skin, especially at the front of the hairline, where people can't even see you wearing a wig.
2. Since each hair is hand-woven in lace, you can part it in any way you want.
3. Lace is breathable, so you don't need to worry about your hair and skin not coming into contact with air.

Now, you're bound to have a question: with all the benefits of a pre-lace wig, why aren't some wigs constructed this way?
Answer: there are some full lace wigs, they have full Chinese border hats and the lace around them, they must be 100 percent hand-woven.But lace is transparent, one-year-old, and without proper care, it easily breaks down. The higher the quality of the wig, the more delicate your lace should be.High-quality lace is softer and more prone to wear out.

The front lace wig combines the advantages of lace and in most ways becomes a durable hat that can provide other benefits. This is a great wig choice for everyone and you'll love it!

UTME candidate arrested for forging his score to study medicine

A 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidate incurred the wrath of the management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for editing his result in the examination, and will now be handed over to the police.

Kingsley Unekwe reportedly increased his score from 201 to 269 after contacting some fraudsters, in a bid to deceive his parents who wanted him to study Medicine. He was however apprehended.

JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede revealed that the boy confessed to tampering with the original UTME result in the presence of his mother and other officials on Friday August 16, while pleading for mercy amid claim of not knowing it came off a fraudulent act.

Quote:The registrar said, “Anybody who does post-result infraction will have their results withdrawn by the board. You (Unekwe) are the fifth person. Two of the other candidates are already being prosecuted because we showed them clearly that they forged their results to deceive their parents who are desperate, like your parents are, to study medicine.
We will prosecute you for attempting to tarnish the image of the board. We told your father that we have all the facts; since we now see that your claims are not correct, you will be prosecuted.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 17TH AUGUST

BEYOND HUMAN ABILITIES

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power (1 Corinthians 2:4).

That you have a gift of the gab or have your way with words doesn’t mean you’ll be able to persuade sinners to be saved or turn them to righteousness. Beyond one’s intellectual prowess, charisma or ability to persuade others with enticing words, there’s a spirituality of ministry that must be understood.

Being an effective Christian or minister of the Gospel has nothing to do with your human ability; your ability and competence must be by the Spirit! The Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, expresses this clearly for us in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6: “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (NIV).

Life in the Kingdom, and our service to God, have to be by faith, through the power of the Holy Spirit. That’s why the greatest sermons in the world may never change anybody’s life. The wisest words may never change the hardest of hearts. The greatest communicators of the world may never be able to go into the deepest core of the human nature, no matter how smartly they communicate; no matter their choice of words! Without the Holy Spirit, it’ll all be lifeless.

It’s the Spirit that “quickeneth”; that means gives life. Zechariah 4:6 says, “...Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Hallelujah! 1 Corinthians 4:20 (NKJV) declares, “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power”; the power of the Holy Ghost!

Prioritise fellowship with the Holy Spirit and meditation on the Word. That’s where you get more acquainted with Him to know His will, with power to walk accordingly, and be an effective witness for the Lord.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for making me an effective witness for Christ; my competence is born of you to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ. My words are operative, efficacious, productive, fruitful and potent with grace, producing righteousness in the hearts of sinners, and bringing them to the true and accurate knowledge of your love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Father, I thank You for the investment of Your Word in me, and the training that I receive through the Spirit, which has helped me form an excellent character. I recognize and take advantage of Your grace in me to do more, and attain higher heights
of greatness.

I thank You for granting me the grace to receive and believe the Gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. I thank You for separating me from the destructions that ruin men’s lives, and the judgment of this world. I am identified with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection, and now walk in newness of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Customs seize N5b worth of banned tramadol in Lagos (Photos)

The Nigerian Customs Service has intercepted truck-loads of banned drugs including tramadol and other illicit drugs worth N5 billion in Lagos.

Joseph Attah, the spokesman for the service conducted newsmen round a warehouse where the trucks of the intercepted items were parked at the Ikeja Training College of the service. Attah said the Comptroller-General of Customs Strike Force in Zone ‘A’ stumbled on the contraband.
According to him, the smugglers believe that festive period is a time of merriment and less vigilance, “but our officers intercepted the illicit drugs as the smugglers attempted to move it from Lagos to other parts of the country’’.

Quote:“On Aug. 13, at about 2 a.m, operatives of the Headquarters Strike Force Zone A intercepted a truck laden with dreaded codeine, tramadol and other controlled pain killers along Maryland, Ikeja road.
He said the warehouse was immediately sealed with a detachment of well armed officers to guard the place. Attah said the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), had already directed a thorough investigation with a view to bringing all those connected to the drugs to justice.
He said that evaluation of those intercepted drugs had commenced, adding that a suspect who happened to be the truck driver was apprehended and in custody for judicial process.

CRS teacher allegedly impregnates 15-year-old student in Ondo

A Christian Religious Studies (CRS) teacher identified as Sola Akinyemi, has been accused of impregnating a 15-year-old student after having repeated sex with her.

The teacher allegedly lured the girl to different hotels and his house in Ondo state, with a promise of getting back her phone which was seized in school. It was learnt that the teacher reportedly invited policemen to arrest the girl and her parents, after his car tyres got deflated for denying the pregnancy.

A Good Samaritan, Mr Ogunfiditimi has taken up the case and also petitioned the state Governor over it.

Quote:He told newsmen “I was in Ondo during the last break and stayed at my Mother in law's place. .

I overheard a woman talking to her about her daughter getting impregnated by one of her teachers at JUBILEE SECONDARY SCHOOL . I got interested in the case and went to see the young lady today.

The teacher's name is Sola Akinyemi and he teaches Christian Religious Studies. She is 15 years of age. She told me the entire story. Her phone was seized in school and the so called teacher used the phone as a bait to lure her to different hotels in Ondo and his House to sleep with her.

The lady got pregnant and her parents went to Akinyemi's house at Sabo. He denied the pregnancy after which her uncle deflated his tires in anger.

The man thereafter brought policemen from Akure to arrest the parents and the girl too!! What effrontery????. The police actually released them and they got back to Ondo around 8:30pm.

The woman told me she had to borrow some money from the policemen to transport themselves to Ondo ( They are poor oo, I went to the house today, not funny at all)

I am really interested in this case, what can we do to bring this man to book? I learnt from her that the school is not aware but that some of his friends are calling the woman that they should not escalate the issue because the man has connections and will deal with them.

This to me is not fair at all. How can a teacher do that to a student and he is trying to intimidate them as well. As we speak, the Ondo State government are trying to investigate this matter. The ministry of education have sent delegates to the school. I pray we get justice for her.”

A 21-year-old South African lady whose nude photos were leaked by her ex-boyfriend on Wednesday August 14, has shut down the torrent of backlash that trailed the leak.

While female residents of the small town of Dewetsdorp in Free State felt it was embarassing, Daily Sun reported that most men said they loved brave women like her. Speaking on the leak, the lady identfied as Mamokete Matsepe stated that the leak never broke her as she is not ashamed of her beautiful body.

Mamokete revealed that the photos were taken by a professional photographer three months ago, and she only sent it to her boyfriend after she had a change of mind on sharing it on social media. She also affirmed she won't be opening a criminal case against him.

Quote:“I wasn’t ashamed but I just didn’t expect someone to post them before I did. People have told me I’m beautiful.
“I love women who take nude photos, so I wanted to show that I also embrace my body and want women not to be ashamed of their bodies" she said.

Shi'ites vow to resume protest as El-Zakzaky, wife return

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) otherwise known as Shittes, have vowed to resume their street protests following the return of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife,Zeenat. The Shi'ites say their street protest will continue until their leader and his wife are given proper medical attention.

El-Zakzaky and wife arrived the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport aboard an Ethiopian airline flight and were immediately taken away by the security operatives.

A statement by the President Media Forum of IMN, Ibrahim Musa reads

Quote:“It is glaringly clear that the Nigerian government had an ULTERIOR MOTIVE it was nursing using its connections in India when it violated court order and interfered with the procedures of the Sheikh’s treatment. This can also be deduced from the way the security agents whisked him away to unknown destination after arrival at Abuja International airport, without allowing him to have audience with the journalists that were waiting for his arrival.
The Islamic Movement will however continue its struggle to ensure that our leader gets the appropriate medical treatment he deserves as ordered by the Kaduna High court. And as we continue with the struggle, we wish to reiterate our call for the federal government to comply with an earlier Abuja high court that has freed him since 2016. We believe obedience to this court order will finally solve the crisis that has been lingering since the Zaria genocide of December 2015.
As our leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has landed safely at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport today, we wish to set the records straight in order to disabuse the minds of Nigerians from the false claims perpetrated in some sponsored stories and articles in the media concerning his aborted medical treatment in India.
However before we do that, we vehemently condemn the way the security agents whisked him away upon arrival without allowing the multitude of journalists that were waiting for him for hours to have a chat with him. We urge the security agency holding him hostage to declare to the public where they are keeping him in the country.
It is a well-known fact that the Nigerian authorities had tried all their antics to see that the Sheikh wasn’t given a medical leave. Distrustful of the Nigerian government’s offer of a jet to take him to the destination, having survived its attempts to poison and kill him while in detention, our leader Sheikh Zakzaky declined the offer and chose to pay for his trip through the Emirates Airline.
Their ordeal started right here in Nigeria when they were schedule to board the plane to Dubai. After a 2 hours’ drive from Kaduna to Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport in Abuja, they were not given enough time to rest before boarding the plane. They endured an 8 hours flight to Dubai and another 3 hours flight to New Delhi. Under normal circumstances, as patients suffering life threatening ailments they shouldn’t have been subjected to such exhaustion. Nonetheless our leader and his wife endured the journey hoping that they will get good treatment when they reached New Delhi.
However, despite their need for rest, they were forcibly wheeled to a hospital on arrival without their personal physician that accompanied them from Nigeria. They were then subjected to physical examination in the absence of the doctors that initially examined them in Nigeria and when they requested for their presence, it was turned down. Another physician that came from London was also denied access to them despite his familiarity with the Sheikh’s case from Nigeria. It was at this point that Sheikh Zakzaky lost confidence in the whole process and refused any further attempt to have him forcibly treated.

Moreso, the Hospital compromised its independence and medical ethics, treating without obtaining consent of the patients. The health workers were further more interested in taking selfie with the Sheikh and posting on social media, thereby violating their privacies.

When the Sheikh noticed some physical assault in addition to the background circumstances, he lost complete confidence in the hospital and demanded to see his own doctors for a substitute arrangement. It is well within every patient’s right to decide whether or not to be treated and to also decide who attends to his health.

It is called giving of consent, which every sane autonomous person with capacity is entitled to. Contrary to the Nigerian government’s press statement, that misinformed that it was against “medical ethics and standard practice,” it is in fact at the very essence of medical ethics, which every elementary medical person knows.” the statement read

BBNaija: I am not complaining and his wife is not complaining- Jackye's boyfriend defends her closeness and pillow fight with Mike (video)

Few hours after Jackye trended over a pillow fight with Mike, her boyfriend Oluwasegun Kosemani has lashed out at those making it an issue.

Pointing out that Mike complained some time ago that Jackye has been staying away from him since the new housemates were unveiled, Oluwasegun called out people who claimed she wasn’t loyal to their friendship, alleged she was boring and acting too holy at that time.

Insisting that Mike's wife is also not complaining about their closeness, Jackye's boyfriend claimed that most people watch the show for lustful reasons which clouds their thoughts in identifying intellectual activities showcased by the smartest housemates.

He wrote;

Quote:Sometime ago when Mike complained to another male housemates that Jackye has been staying away from him since the new housemates came in, all the women shading Jackye now kept quite and some even hailed Mike saying Jackye wasn’t loyal to their friendship. They say Jackye is boring, Jackye is acting too holy, now Jackye plays freely with Mike with no strings attached and same females/women are the ones saying negative things about Jackye! Ah walaha dey ooh!SMH.
I see why women keep pulling down other women, I see why women don’t vote for women who are truly impactful in positive ways, I see why majority like to watch big brother; obviously for lustful reasons especially nudity and immoral acts thereby failing to identify, acknowledge and celebrate the intellectual activities of the show showcased by the smartest housemates. I see why the popular and highly recommended women equality thing may never be achieved real soon at least not in our insane clime.
Like for heaven sake, I ain’t even complaining and Mike’s wife ain’t either, rather I’m so happy that Jackye is becoming more free in the house especially with the guys. Jackye likes smart people who can hold their head up and be free. It took Jackye a while to get this free in the house and now that she’s getting her groove on, people who are already unhappy with themselves and most likely unhappy about Jackye’s intellectual and emotional strength and the changes she is capable of being to our society are the ones who want to drive us insane with their unsubstantiated rhetorics all over the internet.
Naso una abuse Cee’c sooo tey the young girl blow scatter come begin get paid more than una gbanjo favs! Ok o! Make una kontinu, as long as my Jackye is writing a good history for young Nigerian and African ladies to admire and emulate, I, her family and her true well wishers and the awaiting brands will keep enjoying the show till the 99th day when we would all be celebrating her as the finalist and or winner of the #bbnaija seasons 4.

Nigeria loses in British court, to forfeit N3.2 trillion assets

The Nigerian government will be forfeiting N3.2 trillion ($9 billion) in assets to a company Process & Industrial Development Limited (P&ID), over its failure to honor a contract.

Justice Butcher of The High Court of Justice, Business and Property Courts of England and Wales ruled on the case on Friday August 16, 2 years after the Nigerian government objected to an arbitration that ordered payment of $6.6 billion as damages to the company. The money increased it to $9 billion (approximately N3.24 trillion) in accumulated interest in 2019, Premium Times reported.

P&ID have already signified its intention to target Nigerian assets in order to satisfy the judgement. It sued the Nigerian government and secured the monetary award after arbitration by a three-member panel including Nigeria’s former attorney-general, Bayo Ojo.

The company's lead counsel, Andrew Stafford said in a statement;

Quote:“We are pleased that the Court has rejected Nigeria’s objections both to the arbitration process and to the amount of the award and that it will grant permission to P&ID to begin enforcement of the award in the United Kingdom. The Court has ruled decisively in P&ID’s favour and has comprehensively rejected Nigeria’s efforts to avoid payment of this award of over $9.6 Billion. P&ID is committed to vigorously enforcing its rights, and we intend to begin the process of seizing Nigerian assets in order to satisfy this award as soon as possible.
“Process and Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID) is an engineering and project management company founded and led by Brendan Cahill and the late Michael Quinn, who had over 30 years’ experience of project management and execution in Nigeria.
“P&ID and Nigeria entered into a 20-year Agreement – known as the Gas Supply and Processing Agreement (GSPA) – to refine natural gas for Nigeria’s electricity grid. The GSPA would have been very profitable for both P&ID and Nigeria. The GSPA failed when the government did not uphold its commitments. In August 2012, after several attempts over two and a half years by P&ID to salvage the agreement, including offers to renegotiate the deal, the company initiated arbitration proceedings. The tribunal was organised in London under the rules of the Nigerian Arbitration and Conciliation Act as part of the original contractual agreement between parties. In January 2017, the tribunal ruled that Nigeria was liable for $6.6 billion in damages, which by now has increased to well over $9 billion with interest accruing daily.”

Soldier who raped AAU student says he is mentally unstable, begs for bail

Lance Corporal Sunday Awolola, the 33-year-old soldier who allegedly raped a 300-level female student of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAAU), has asked a chief magistrate's court in Akure, Ondo State, to grant him bail, claiming he is mentally unstable.

The magistrate court today heard his bail application. The prosecution counsel, Adeoye Adesegun, had asked the court to remand the suspect in prison.

The defence counsel, Kayode Ikotun, however objected to the remand request. According to Ikotun, Awolola was facing "psychiatric health challenges" and should be granted bail. He argued that the suspect, whose wife recently put to bed, was deployed to Akure from Maiduguri to take care of his health and family.

After much arguments,Mayowa Olanipekun of the magistrate court ordered that the soldier be remanded in custody at the Olokuta Maximum Prison pending legal advice from the Ministry of Justice. He added that the original case file of the suspect should be duplicated in the office of Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) of the Ministry.

The case was adjourned until November 15th.

Wrong computation of election results in 11 states caused my defeat - Atiku

The Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, have filed their final written addresses in which they explained how they were allegedly robbed of victory in the February 23, 2019 presidential election through wrongful computation in 11 states.

The states, according to them, are Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Yobe, and Zamfara. The petitioners stated through their lawyer, Dr. Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), that a correct computation of the results would give them a margin of lead of 222,332 votes over President Buhari and his All Progressives Congress.

They stated this in their response to Buhari’s final address, contending that the correct computation showed that they scored 9,426,082 votes against Buhari’s 9,203,750. They claimed that reports tendered by a statistician, who was called as one of their witnesses pointing out faults in the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, was not challenged by the respondents to their petition.

Quote:The petitioners said, “These reports (P90-K) are unchallenged and remained so as none of the respondents controverted the detailed analysis of unlawful votes extracted from Exhibits PNG1 – PNG3464, PYB1731, PKT1 PKT3377; PKB1 – PKB2105; PB01 – PB03471; PJG1 – PJG 3161; PGB1 – PGB 1911; PBC1 – PBC3598; PKD1 – PKD3334; PKN1 – PKN7159 and PZF1 – PZF 1000 as summarised hereunder.”
The petitioners also contended that there were “polling units where Forms EC8A were altered or tampered with to reflect new votes/scores.” They added that on Forms EC8B (ward result sheets), the similar errors were also observed, adding that there were discrepancies in the collated figures on Forms EC8A and the Forms EC8B.

They stated, “It is submitted that when the votes credited to the parties on account of various errors listed in paragraph 4.54(a) – (f) and (a) – (d), respectively, above are deducted from the results declared in the 11 focal states, the under listed figures now represent the overall lawful votes cast in the presidential election held on February 23, 2019 across Nigeria:
Quote:“Election result: PDP – 11, 262,978; APC – 15,191,847. Void votes: PDP – 1,836,896; APC -5,988,097. New result: PDP – 9,426,082; APC -9,203,750.”
Atiku and his party had by their petition urged the five-man tribunal led by Justice Mohammed Garba to declare them the winner of the February 23, 2019 poll or nullify Buhari’s election.  In their final address filed in response to Buhari’s, the petitioners raised five issues for determination, including that Buhari was neither duly elected by the majority of lawful votes nor qualified to contest as of the time of the election.
The respondents had earlier, through their lawyers, filed their respective final addresses.  The tribunal had fixed August 21 for adoption of the final addresses by the parties.

A young soldier Ifeanyi Sunday and two others died reportedly on Wednesday August 14, when troops of Operation Lafiya Dole averted a Boko Haram attack on Molai village in Borno State.

According to a friend of the slain soldier, they had chatted on Tuesday August 13 and on the said day he was killed.

"It is very difficult for me to believe we just chatted on Tuesday and even yesterday. I don't know it will be the last one. God protect the living heroes and may the souls of Falling one rest in peace. Anyi may Your Soul rest in peace ." he wrote.

The troops engaged the insurgents in a gunfight on Wednesday night in Mammanti, a deserted village near Maiduguri.

The insurgents who came in large numbers were on their way to attack Molai, a settlement barely two kilometres away from the capital city before the gun duel broke out.

Molai residents were thrown in panic as sounds of explosions and ammunitions
in the dead of the night were heard even in some parts of Maiduguri where the people found them disturbing.

Soldiers around Mammanti who had been on red alert had, however, faced the assailants squarely, foiling their plans to infiltrate Molai village or go beyond.

The gun battle which begun at about 10pm is said to have lasted till 2:30am on Thursday when the last gunshot was heard.

Nigerian medical doctor stabbed to death by Ukrainian lady with her father's help

A young Nigerian medical doctor has died after being stabbed by a lady from Ukraine with the support of her father.

Gbolade Ibukun Ejemai was stabbed by a lady identified as Victoria Popravko after which her father hit him on the head with a hammer in Ukraine.

According to reports, Gbolade was in a relationship with Victoria, a mother-of-two. They got into an argument and she went for a weapon.

Narrating how Gbolade was stabbed to death, Dr. Ajayi, a friend of the deceased, said: "Victoria Popravko invited Gbolade Ejemai over to her house on on Friday, August 8, 2019, to talk things over in the morning.

"They’ve had some prior discussions which nobody really knew for sure as they were in a relationship. He went over to hers, it wasn’t his first time visiting her but turned out to be his last.

"They got into some arguments and one thing led to another, she stabbed him in his abdomen, twice, puncturing a couple of organs and landing him in coma. He lost about 40% of his blood volume and that led him to a very critical condition.

"He was taken in for the first surgery on the same day and we waited almost 24 hours for him to get conscious. On Sunday, he opened his eyes and was able to recognize people.

"Then he told his side of the story about how Victoria’s father realized that he wasn’t dead after the stab wound and went ahead to hit him with a hammer on his head.

"We didn’t know about the hammer and its impact until Gbolade himself woke up and spoke up. We were hoping for a miracle and praying he got better until Monday when he developed a complication and had to be operated on the second time

"He was taken in for the second surgery and it went well. He didn’t come conscious though. By Tuesday afternoon, he gave up the ghost."

Victoria was arrested at the scene of the incident but has now been released on bail less than 24 hours later because "she had two kids to cater for" and they couldn’t keep her until the investigation was done and over with.

Lamenting the injustice, Dr. Ajayi said: "This is unfair judgement because she was caught at a murder scene. It is a serious case and we need to put our voices together to avenge our brother’s death. We will not be silenced! We will not be cheated! Gbolade deserves justice and we can make it happen."

Quote:Twitter went wild last night and early hours of today, after spotting Mercy using a vibrator in the BBNaija house.

It later turned into a war of words between Khafi's fans and Mercy's who claimed it was absolute hypocrisy if they could swiftly judge Khafi's for having sex with Gedoni and laugh over Mercy's act.

A fan of Mercy who said "Khafi and Gedoni should try to respect other housemates when they start having sex openly. The lights are still on for f*^ks sake!!! Even Esther and Frodd are watching and yet... what kind of Hot could they be to be this shameless? I'm tired!!!" was seriously lampooned for being judgemental, neglecting her idols action.

Man called young woman a "prostitute" as he stabbed her to death in anger after she refused his sexual advances

A man stabbed a young woman to death in an "explosive rage" after she refused to have sex with him.

Karar, 29, has been jailed for life after he stabbed Jodi Miller, 21, with a kitchen knife 15 times to the head and body to "teach her a lesson" after she repeatedly rejected his sexual advances in a Leeds flat.

The drug-fueled attack took place on February 26, 2019, in the presence of a 15-year-old schoolboy. The attack was so vicious that it broke the murder weapon into three pieces. It took place at the home of a friend of Miss Miller where she would often meet with a group.

According to Metro UK, Karar, who lived in the flat above with Abdi Dhoobe, was on the "periphery" of the group and began pestering Miss Miller for sex in the days leading up to the violence, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Prosecuting, Jason Pitter QC, said: "He was becoming increasingly desperate, frustrated and ultimately angry in his efforts, even offering her money to do so.

Miss Miller was understandably having none of it and displayed no interest in the defendant whatsoever."

On February 26, a fight broke out in the basement flat as others warned Karar to leave her alone, saying she was "not that type of person".

CCTV footage showed Karar leave and come back to the flat several times, before arming himself with a kitchen knife from his own home and returning to kill his victim.

Mr Pitter said: "He was so enraged and frustrated by her rejection that he decided, in his mind, to teach her a lesson. To confront her and ultimately kill her."

Miss Miller attempted to flee the property, but was tripped up by Karar, who told police he stabbed her because she had slapped him.

At one point, Karar, who was an asylum seeker who had come to the UK from Sudan four years ago to escape political persecution, paused the violence to kick his victim and call her a "prostitute".

Mr Dhoobe, another man and a 15-year-old boy attempted to help but failed to save Miss Miller, who died in hospital following the three-minute attack.

After the attack, Karar warned the eyewitnesses and threatened to kill them if they "snitch".

Sentencing Karar, Judge Rodney Jameson QC said: "There appears to have been something of a break in your attack before you kicked her, calling her a prostitute. There is a bitter irony in that. You attacked her precisely because she was not prepared to act in that way, which is what you were demanding."

Karar was given a life sentence after pleading guilty to murder yesterday. He must serve a minimum of 25 years in prison.

  Basic wig caps

Basic wig caps, sometimes they are also called traditional weft caps, open weft caps, standard hats, or classic caps.
Some basic wigs are also known as headless wigs. It's a bit of a misnomer, because there's a wig and a cap. An appropriate name would be the open-weft wig hat, which has a lower density of weft and a larger spacing.
The advantage of open-weft wigs is that they are lighter and more breathable, and people like to wear them in warm weather because they keep your head cool.

Basic wig caps features:

1.Affordability: the basic wig hat is by far the cheapest wig hat type.If you want to buy several different wig styles at the same time, a basic wig hat is the most affordable way.
2.Durability: these wigs are durable.Since weft is sewn together, they do not loosen over time.
3.Precombed: the basic wig hat is precombed at the roots, which means you can put the wig directly on your head and go out.

Disadvantages of basic wigs caps:

1.Styling cons: if you're going to buy a basic wig hat, make sure you choose the hairstyle you like, because you can't take it off and restyle it, or it won't look natural.
2.Lack of hair fiber: since basic wigs are considered a cheaper option, they are usually only available for synthetic wigs, not human hair.

One tip: if you want to look the most natural, you can add a few natural strands to your hairline.

Capless basic wig:

1. Top: can be monofilament, silk or some ordinary fabric material. In addition, there is another kind of hat called " topless", which is also made of open weft at the top.
2. Open wet back: through wet back of the machine, the scalp can get the best ventilation effect and the maximum cooling of the scalp.
3. Velvet hairline: adds comfort to the hairline.
4. Adjustable label: allow the wearer to adjust.

  Wig color selection guide
User Avatar Forum: Market Place
Posted by: Ivy Wang - 08-16-2019, 11:20 AM - Replies (1)

One of the great things about wearing a wig is that you can easily get the color you want without causing chemical damage to your hair. From skin tone to eye color, there are many factors that determine which color is best for you. Here are some tips to help you decide what color is right for your wig.

1. Be sure to avoid colors that are two or more shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color.
2. Choose a color that matches your skin tone and eye color.
3. When you want blond hair, consider what color your hair was when you were a child.
4. Like bright hair?Don't worry, because synthetic wigs and human hair are naturally colored and shiny.
Here's something else to remember -- blonde hair will brighten your complexion and make you look younger. If your hair is auburn, choose copper.Naturally, dark brown and caramel colors work best, while gold and honey colors work best.
Buying a new wig can be exciting, as can trying out a new hair color.Plus, with a beautiful wig, you can use a salon to make it easier, cheaper, and it won't damage your own hair.

It's important to choose a color that matches you and your personality, and once you find your own "color," you'll be well on your way to finding and feeling more confident.

Well, that's all for today's sharing. Bye.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 16TH AUGUST

DIVINE WISDOM

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs 4:7).

1 Corinthians 1:30 says Christ has been made unto us wisdom; insight granted us by the Spirit of God to understand knowledge. We read in our opening verse: “…with all thy getting, get understanding”; that’s the insight of knowledge. By that, you’ll know how to judge the voices you hear and put the principles of God’s Word together and know what steps to take.

With this divine insight, it makes no difference what your field is—your business or profession—you’ll always be a success! You’ll always talk, act, and live beyond what you see, knowing exactly what to do at any given moment, irrespective of the situation.

Think about this: a group of prophets who had invited Prophet Elisha to come with them to Jordan to get house beams seemed to be in a dilemma. One of them, as he was hewing wood, lost an axe head; a heavy metal. It fell into the river. He cried out to Elisha and said, “...Alas, master! for it was borrowed” (2 Kings 6:5). Then Elisha asked, “Where did it fall?” They then pointed out the exact spot where the metal fell and sank into the waters.

Forthwith, Elisha did something most unusual and unexpected: He cut a stick off a branch, threw it at the spot where the axe head had sunk, and the heavy metal floated to the surface! How did Elisha know what to do to get the metal out?

He had insight of knowledge; spiritual understanding. It’s the will of God for every one of us to function with such divine insight. No wonder He prays that we be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9).

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you, for I’m in Christ, and therefore, endued with an extraordinary amplitude of comprehension, superior mental, as well as supernatural sagacity to excel in all that I do: in my job, business, academics, finances, ministry. My thought-pattern is excellent; my ingenuity, creativity, intuition, sharp-wittedness are beyond the limitations of the human mind, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#TALKINGSESSION

16TH AUGUST.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. He lives in me in His fullness, and in Him I live, move and have my being. No challenge is big enough to weigh me down because I am born of God and complete in Christ. I am alive to God—spirit, soul, and body. There’re no impossibilities with me, for Christ is my sufficiency.

I thank You for giving me Your Word—the infallible instruction manual—for the successful and victorious life in Christ! I live in health, victory, and peace; and I am making progress with giant strides, as I live in Your Word, conscious of its power and ability to transform my life and cause me to excel from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

Stock Prices’ Free Fall Widens Investment Opportunities

August 16, 2019

The Nigerian equity market is offering long-term investors opportunities to invest as most of the stock prices have declined significantly below their opening values, Akelicious’s investigation has revealed.

Akelicious checks showed that the bear run in the stock market, which has depressed the benchmark Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share Index (ASI) by 13.1 per cent so far, has cut the prices of many stocks by over 25 per cent.

The price reduction, according to analysts, is an entry opportunity for investors considering the fact that the price declines are not necessary as a result of weak fundamentals of the stocks.

The stock market has been fluctuating since the beginning of the year following negative reactions by investors to political risks that characterised the general election in the first quarter of the year.

There were expectations that the market would rebound after the successful elections.

However, the delay in the composition of the federal cabinet that will show economic direction of the Buhari administration and those to drive it, has kept the market under the pressure of bears.

Foreign investors are reluctant to take advantage of the low valuations as they appear to be more interested in seeing the economic policy direction of President Muhammadu Buhari in his second term, while domestic investors are also waiting for foreign investors to move first, as usual, before increasing their stakes in the market.

Consequently, all the sectoral indices are in negative, safe for the Premium Index that gained 3.3 per cent year-to-date.

Similarly, most stocks have dipped to their two-year low, thereby offering investors an opportunity to buy the stocks at very attractive prices.
For instance, Okomu Oil Palm Plc is selling 32 per cent below its year’s opening price, while Presco Plc is trading 30.9 per cent lower than its opening price.

Transcorp Plc is selling 44 per cent lower than the price it was at the beginning of the year, while UAC of Nigeria Plc offers 44 per cent discount below its opening price.

Guinness Nigeria Plc is 42 price lower, just as International Breweries Plc, Nigerian Breweries Plc and Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc are 60 per cent, 42 per cent and 35 per cent lower respectively.

PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc is 50 per cent lower than its opening price, while Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Fidelity Bank Plc, Jaiz Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, Unity Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc are 48.2 per cent; 26.1 per cent; 23.1 per cent; 27.9 per cent; 40 per cent; and 29.1 per cent in that order.

Investors buying the shares of FBN Holdings Plc, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc and United Capital Plc will do so at a rate that is 37.7 per cent, 20.5 per cent and 32.6 per cent cheaper respectively.

Other stocks depressed by the bears are: Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc(21 per cent); Goldlink Insurance Plc (62.2 per cent); Law Union & Rock Insurance Plc (35 per cent); Linkage Assurance Plc (27.7 per cent); NEM Insurance Plc(25.5 per cent); Glaxosmithkline Consumer Nigeria Plc (42 per cent); Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc(27.8 per cent); Conoil Plc (24.1 per cent); Eterna Plc (44.6 per cent); Forte Oil Plc (40.7 per cent); Total Nigeria Plc (43.4 per cent).
Commenting on the low prices, a stockbroker and Chief Executive Officer of Sofunix Investment and Communications, Mr. Sola Oni, said many shares were trading below their intrinsic values, describing it as a buy signal for any investor that wants to take position and beef up portfolio.

He said: “This is a buyers’ market where investors should contact their stockbrokers for informed investment advice. Market has never been static, hence, bull run is at the back of the door. As ministers commence operations, there will be activities in all facets of the economy and this is expected to impact positively on the capital market. Informed investors are quietly taking advantage of the current bearish run to increase their holdings.

No time to buy stocks is better than this moment. Investors buy into future of companies. The current results of many of our quoted companies are heart- warming but they are historical. Expectation of every buyer is that the company will performance better and churn out higher returns,” he stated.
On their part, analysts at United Capital Plc said in second half of the year, policy uncertainties would remain one of the biggest concerns for investors.
“This position is buttressed by several factors. For instance, President Buhari is unlikely to form his cabinet until the end of Q3, 2019, if the experience from 2015 is anything to go by. This is likely to slow investment planning as important decision in the strategic sectors of the economy as well as policy formulation across the sectors, have to wait for the ministers to settle in,” the analysts said.

Nigeria Is Losing Trillions To Corruption, Say Forensic Experts
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 08-16-2019, 07:45 AM - No Replies

Forensic experts yesterday alleged growing cases of fraud, cybercrime and corruption in the country despite government’s effort to address these problems.

At a press conference in Abuja, the Pro tem President of the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Auditors of Nigeria, Ayishetu Enape, said that the country’s loss to corruption “currently is in the region of trillions of naira.”

The institute said: “It is more worrisome to know that despite the Federal Government’s renewed efforts in tackling fraud, corruption and cybercrime, very little result has been achieved, especially in the area of securing conviction against perpetrators of fraud in Nigeria.

“This is because many of the cases, especially the high-profile ones, are either thrown out for want of evidence or are unnecessarily delayed and stuck in court for years, due to one reason or the other,” Enape said.

According to the institute, whose bill awaits assent by President Muhammadu Buhari, forensic investigation remains one of the potent means by which the country can tame the growing cases of fraud, cybercrime and corruption.

Enape stated that fraudsters could only be prevented if those who commit crimes are prosecuted with forensic evidence, stressing that the application of forensic investigation would create no hiding place for corrupt citizens.

Citing data from the Nigerian InterBank Settlement System (NIBBS), which show that Nigerian banks lost N12.30 billions to fraud in the past four years, and other data, which show that fraud volume in the banks increased from N1.461 billion in 2014 to staggering N23.043 billion in 2017, Enape said: “the situation right now is worse than the above analysis because fraud volume in Nigeria has now moved to trillions, and no longer in billions.”

On the bill for an act to establish the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Professionals of Nigeria (CIFIPN), which is now before the president for assent, Enape said it was important “to clarify that CIFIPN is neither an accounting body nor coming as a duplicate to the functions of any existing accounting bodies in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it had sent an invitation letter to the suspended Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), Okoi Obono-Obla.

The spokesperson of the commission, Rasheedat Okoduwa, told The Guardian yesterday in Abuja that the letter was sent through the office of the Solicitor General of the Federation.

On when Obono-Obla would report to the commission, she said: “He would have been given the letter stating the date and time to come because when we invite anybody, we don’t leave it open- ended, it is always within a particular time frame. When other developments occur, we will let you know, but he has been invited,” Okoduwa said.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday ordered the suspension of Obono-Obla as the chairman of the panel.

The presidency said the “suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of ongoing Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) investigations into a number of cases relating to Mr. Obono-Obla.”

The suspension came after an extensive investigation conducted into Obono – Obla ‘s academic credentials by the anti-graft agency.

He is facing allegations of certificate forgery and other corruption-related charges. On Friday, his office located in Asokoro was sealed by some armed police officers.

Obono-Obla, however, in a statement said it was difficult to know why his office was sealed because of the Eid-el-Kabir holidays. He alleged that some highly placed Nigerians “wishing to protect some persons under investigation were arm-twisting the panel officials, thereby distracting the panel from carrying out its lawful mandate.”

According to him, the panel has examples of many high-profile cases in which misappropriated public funds were traced to the personal bank accounts of public servants, and rather than explain the sources of the funds, they resort to false petitions and unfairly attacking the officials of the panel.

A 49-year-old self-acclaimed Evangelist, Mr Akinjide Durojaiye got more than he bargained for as he was beaten for allegedly stealing two new mobile phones from a shop he preached at in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

The Evangelist at Dominion Assembly in Ilare-Ijesa area of Osun state, claimed the "spirit" directed him to preach to the people at a phone shop in Femi Johnson Building located at Dugbe area of Ibadan.

He however left the shop with two phones valued at N70,000, hid in a shop within the complex when chased but eventually got busted by an attendant at the shop. The phones were retrieved from him by the mob that manhandled him.

Confessing to the crime, Durojaiye blamed it all on the devil as he disclosed that he stole to raise money to offset the medical bill of his 7-year-old son who jumped down from a 2-storey building.

The father of four who was released after some persons intervened, further revealed that his wife 'abandoned' the kids with him after they got divorced.

Abuja based lawyer files suit seeking to prevent President Buhari from swearing-in ministers over the exclusion of an FCT indigene from cabinet list

The Federal High Court, Abuja will on Monday, August 19th deliver its ruling in a suit, seeking to stop President Buhari from inaugurating the 43 ministerial nominees over the exclusion of an FCT indigene from his cabinet list.

The applicant, Musa Baba-panya, who was also the counsel in the case on Thursday, August 15th approached the court with an exparte motion, asking the court to stop the president from going ahead with the inauguration.

In suit number: number: FHC/ABJ/CS/878/19, Baba-panya, who is also an indigene of Karu in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said the president’s action was contrary to an Appeal Court judgment delivered on March 15, 2018. President Buhari is the 1st defendant while the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) is the 2nd defendant in the case.

The president will be inaugurating the 43 ministers-designate earlier confirmed by the Senate on Aug. 21.  The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation had, on Aug. 6, said that the inauguration would hold at the Federal Executive Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.  Baba-panya, who argued that the Appeal Court’s ruling was a compelling order, said it was served on the president through the AGF.

The lawyer, in an originating summons dated August 7 and filed August 8, said that ”the 43 confirmed ministerial appointees now awaiting swearing-in or inauguration as the Federal Executive Council is incomplete, illegal, unconstitutional, null, void and of no effect whatsoever. The 1st defendant stands in contempt of law and court for his brazen refusal to comply with the tenor of the Abuja Division of Court of Appeal judgment of 15/1/2018 compelling him to the immediate and forthwith appointment off an indigene of FCT, Abuja as minister of the federation,” he said.

Baba-panya, who was in court with another lawyer, Sylvanus Tanko, prayed the court to grant an interim injunction restraining the president from inaugurating the confirmed ministers-designate pending the determination of the motion on notice. He said allowing the president to go on with his decision would mean that ”he is going to constitute an illegal cabinet.”

According to him, the violation of the FCT indigene’s rights to ministerial representation has been going on since May 29, 1999.  ”So it is not a personal issue. All previous presidents have also violated our rights,” he said.

He said despite the fact that President Buhari presently has 43 ministerial-designate, he was yet to meet ”the minimum requirement of the constitution which is at least one minister each from the 36 states including FCT, making a total of 37.”

The lawyer, however, wanted the court to determine ”whether 1st defendant is an offender of the Oath of Allegiance and Office, and a contemptnor of a valid court judgment and the rule of law.  ”Whether 1st defendant is no longer a fit and proper person to continue holding or remain in the office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and if so what consequences?  ”Whether damages and costs are not only warranted but same are to be so awarded.”

Justice Taiwo Taiwo, therefore, ordered that the suit should commence during the vacation period of the court. The judge struck out the initial application restraining the Senate from conducting the confirmation of the ministerial nominees as prayed by the plaintiff and adjourned the matter until August 19 for ruling.

FSARS operatives arrest a fleeing pastor for stealing SUV from a car dealer in Lagos

Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad. FSARS, Lagos have arrested the fleeing Pastor in charge of Jesu Miracle Church, Sango-Ota, Ogun State,  Pastor Jeremiah Ehindero, 41, for allegedly stealing a Toyota High Lander valued N1.2 million from a car dealer.

He was alleged to have sold the Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV, in Ore, Ondo State for N600,000 and escaped. Other suspects arrested with him over their involvement in the alleged crime included Lateef Oyetunde who allegedly purchased the stolen SUV from the pastors; Jamiu Abiodun, 35 and Lukman Moyoyesa, both of who allegedly introduced the buyer to the pastor.

According to the police, trouble started for the pastor when he went to the car sales outlet belonging to one Jamiu located in Sango–Ota, Ogun State to introduced himself as a pastor and that he needed a Toyota Highlander to purchase for evangelism purpose.

Police further alleged that after the car dealer and the pastor agreed on the purchasing price for the SUV, put at N1.2 million, he trusted the pastor and allowed him to fast drive the SUV, only for the pastor to remove the number plate marked LND 816CK and drove the SUV straight to Ondo State and sold it for N600,000 and escaped.

When the car dealer waited for 24 hours without seeing the Pastor and his SUV, he reported the matter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP in charge of FSARS, Lagos, DCP Kola Okunola Kamaldeen who directed his team led by SP Olaniyi Festus to do everything possible to arrest the pastor and recover the stolen vehicle.

Following the directives, Festus and his team swung into action and tracked the stolen SUV to Ore in Ondo State and recovered the vehicle and arrested the buyer and two others at the scene. The police also traced the Pastor to his residence in Sango-Ota in Ogun State and arrested him.

During investigation, the pastor allegedly confessed to the crime and said that the devil pushed him to commit the crime. In his alleged confessional statement to the police, Ehindero allegedly stated:

Quote:“I decided to steal the SUV and use the proceeds to settle the N650,000 I borrowed from Mirco-finance bank in Lagos. I borrowed the sum of N650,000 from a Micro-finance Bank to renovate my church and to recover the investment from tithes and offerings, I was surprised that for three months, no money was realized to repay the loan.
“When the pressure from the micro Finance became too unbearable for me, the devil told me to steal a vehicle from a car dealer to sell and use the proceeds to repay the loan. I regret my action Ehindero.”
The alleged buyer of the SUV, Oyetunde allegedly stated: “If I had known that the Pastor stole the SUV, I would not have purchased it.”  A police source said that all the suspects would be charged to court after conclusion of investigation.

Mbaka Speaks About Killing Of Father Offu, Insists Buhari Is Not Our Problem
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 08-15-2019, 11:09 PM - No Replies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5A9iVlS5SE

Father Mbaka yesterday spoke about the alleged killing of Catholic priest Fr. Offu by suspected Fulani herdsmen. He also spoke about how people tried to blackmail him by circulating his photoshop and said that he participated in the Catholic priests' protest.According to him,he was in Abuja for an interview at Chinese Embassy during the protest and never participated in the protest. He also used the opportunity to distance himself from a viral fake news that there will be heavy rain in Aso Rock on October 1st.

Speaking at yesterday at Wednesday's 'E No Dey' programmed,he insisted that President Buhari is not the problem of Nigeria.

Watch the video on the link above(he spoke about the killing and President Buhari from 36th minute of the video). One thing about is that he stands for the truth and not bothered by what people say.

Can we just think very well?A reverend father was assassinated and we just said Fulani herdsmen shot him?Do you remember when a reverend father was shot in Imo State recently? To be frank, the killers may be robbers, kidnappers or herdsmen.Nobody knows the actual killers. Coming out to protest and labelling herdsmen as the actual killers without facts and investigations is unfair.

What if tomorrow the killers are caught?Father last week said that the killers will be caught and they will sing.So if the killers are not herdsmen, it will be a kind of disgrace to the protesters.

Breaking: El-Zakzaky, wife on their way back to Nigeria

Barely 96 hours after leaving Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, leader of Shi'ites and his wife, Zeenat, are on their way back to Nigeria.

A top member of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shi'ites,Yahaya Muhammad Soje, announced this in a statement released today August 15th.

According to Soje, the decision to leave India was based on the poor condition of the hospital their leader and his wife were taken to by the Nigerian High Commission in India.

Quote:”Following lack of breakthrough in the impasse that ensued in the treatment in New Delhi of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, it is now confirmed that the Sheikh is on his way back to Abuja.
In a video message sent through his office, the Sheikh said it was decided that they will be taken to the airport to be flown back to Nigeria. He has left Delhi by 17:00 Nigerian time. He prayed that may that be the best option in the circumstances.”
The Nigerian government’s interference and scuttling of the whole process rather than supervision as ordered by the court is the direct cause of the impasse. The government never wanted the medical leave in the first place, and did whatever to stop it by all means possible” the statement read

El-Zakzaky in an audio recording released yesterday August 14th, accused the Federal government of frustrating Indian doctors from treating him and his wife.

After several diagnosis doctors said El-Zakzaky is suffering about eight ailments, including glaucoma, symptoms of Ischemic heart disease, which could lead to Myocardial infraction, severe cervical spondylosis which has resulted to nerve root compression and causing insomnia, among others.

Ban on FOREX for food importation is anti-people- PDP tells President Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described President Buhari’s directive to the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN against the issuance of FOREX to importers of food products, as ''anti-people'', mean, ill-timed and completely against the wellbeing of Nigerians.

Recall that during the SALLAH break, President Buhari announced that he has ordered the CBN not to issue FOREX to food importers. According to President Buhari, the agricultural sector has grown tremendously and his administration has been able to attain full food security.

In a statement released by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP frowned at the directive. The party believes the directive will worsen food scarcity and will in the long run increase the level of depression and frustation witnessed under this administration. Read the full statement below

Quote:The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) describes President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to stifle food importation in the country as mean, ill-timed and completely against the wellbeing of Nigerians.
The PDP states that this directive will worsen food scarcity, exacerbate the already harsh economic situation and the general depression, frustration, resentment and despair in our country under President Buhari’s watch.
It is indeed appalling that instead of bringing solutions to the depreciating living conditions in our nation, President Buhari is rather imposing more suffering by ordering the removal of subsidy on food even when it is manifestly clear that he had failed on all fronts to achieve any level of food security despite the huge resources available to his administration.
The party says by the directive, the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have again demonstrated their insensitivity towards millions of Nigerians who are already suffering acute hunger and starvation due to severe food shortage and high prices brought by President Buhari’s misrule.
The PDP states strongly that Nigerians do not, in any way, deserve such suffering being foisted on them by such directive on food.
Such situation will only breed further despondency among our citizens, heighten our security challenges and put more pressure on compatriots, many of who, in the face of suffering occasioned by APC misrule, are resorting to suicide and slavery mission as options.
Instead of removing subsidy on food and putting more suffering on Nigerians, the PDP urges President Buhari to cut the billions of naira being wasted on luxuries in his Presidency and free the funds for the welfare of the masses.
Furthermore, the PDP urges President Buhari to recover the over N14 trillion siphoned by APC interests under his administration including the stolen N9 trillion detailed in the leaked NNPC memo and channel the resources towards food security for Nigerians.
The PDP states that it is a complete disservice to Nigerians for the government to place restrictive directives on food for the masses, while interests condoned by the same administration are frittering our common patrimony.
The PDP wants to believe that while Mr. President enjoys the comfort, luxury, sufficiency and safety of the government house, he is barely aware of the sufferings of Nigerians.
Our party therefore charges President Buhari to immediately rescind his directive before it inflicts more damage on the polity.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested a 30-year-old head teacher of a private school in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for allegedly raping a 6-year-old pupil of his school.

The suspect identified as Shedrach Nwekeagu, allegedly started off by inserting a finger into the minor and raping her a week after the first assault. He was however arrested after the victim’s father noticed blood stains on her underwear following a stomach ache complaint.

Stella Nezan, the head of Press and Public Relations Unit of NAPTIP confirmed the arrest of the headteacher in a statement.

Quote:The statement read “Operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have arrested 30 years’ old Shedrach Ozoemena Nwekeagu for allegedly raping a 6 years’ old school pupil.
“The suspect, who hails from Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, is the Head Teacher in one of the private schools in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
“According to the victim’s father who reported the matter to NAPTIP, he observed that his daughter complained of stomachache and saw bloodstains on her underwear when she came back from school. Upon enquiry, she informed her parents that the Mr. Shedrach Ozoemena Nwekeagu had inserted his finger into her vagina the previous week, and a week later, he brutally raped her in the classroom after school hours while they waited to be picked up by their parents.
“Some teachers in the school also informed NAPTIP that they had their suspicions about Mr. Shedrach Nwekeagu sexually molesting pupils in the school, but were afraid of speaking out because the suspect is a relative of the proprietress of the School, and they were afraid they would lose their jobs.
“Reacting to the news of the arrest, the Director-General of NAPTIP, Dame Julie Okah-Donli, condemned in strong terms, the alleged rape, and assured that the suspect will be thoroughly prosecuted under the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.
“She cautioned school proprietors to “ensure they run a background check on the teacher they employ to teach the children, so as to avoid horrible incidents such as this”. She added, “It is quite unfortunate that the teacher who is meant to guide and shield a pupil is the one who ends up molesting the child”.
“The NAPTIP Boss also encouraged members of the public to be vigilant and observe any lewd act being meted towards any child, and not to hesitate in reporting such to NAPTIP for investigations.”

Senate allegedly plans to spend N5.5bn on official cars for members

The Nigerian senate allegedly plans to N5.5bn on official cars for its members following the non-recommendation of Sports Utility Vehicles assembled by local firms by its ad hoc Welfare Committee headed by Senator Abubakar Kyari.

The committee constituted immediately after the inauguration of the 9th National Assembly with a job description of ensuring allocation of offices to members and also determing loans for officials’ vehicles and accommodation, reportedly rejected suggestions of patronizing local automobile firms by some of its members.  The excuse given was the non-assurance of the quality of the vehicles assembled in Nigeria, as reported by Punch.

The committee reportedly opted for a Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs for its 109 members at an estimated cost of about N50m each. N5.5bn will be needed to buy the vehicles including a few additional ones for the Presiding officers.

Quote:The source said, “It was true that we considered suggestions in some quarters to patronise the automobile firms in Nigeria but the fear of their products’ quality, stalled the plans.
“Since the vehicles would be given to members on loans,  we should be careful not to purchase vehicles that we may not be able to guarantee their quality and durability.
“There was a time that the House of Representatives purchased ‘Made-in-Nigeria’  cars for their members but we know the complaints that greeted the exercise.
“We want to avoid such situation that is why we settled for the importation of brand new jeeps that would meet the standard and specification of our members who would pay for them from their salaries and allowances."

The purchase which is expected to be concluded before the lawmakers resume on September 24, is coming on the heels of the N4 billion the Bukola Saraki-led eighth Senate spent on cars.

Suhaila Zakzaky: El-zakzaky Could Die Of Lead Poisoning - Daughter
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Suhaila Zakzaky, daughter of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, has revealed her fears for his father’s life whom she says is suffering from lead poisoning.

Suhaila said in an interview that the poisoning may be from shrapnel when her father was shot in 2015.

“I am really worried… especially because of the lead and cadmium poisoning,” she said.

“His doctors say if he gets to a certain level his organs could start failing and that’s really scary because that means he could just die at any moment.”

El-Zakzaky, who arrived at Medanta Hospital, New Delhi, India on Tuesday, alleged “pathetic and worrisome” situation in an audio message made public on Wednesday.

He said the Federal Government had frustrated his treatment in India.

He complained about the tight security he was subjected to which he described as “worse than a prison setting”.

“Contrary to what was agreed before our arrival, that our own personal doctors would supervise this treatment. Now they’ve changed the arrangement. So, we objected receiving treatment from strange doctors without the supervision of our own trusted physicians,” El-Zakzaky had said.

The Federal Government, however, replied that the IMN leader was up to something, saying he was making unreasonable demands, including wanting to check into a 5-star hotel.

The IMN leader and his wife have been in detention since their arrest in December 2015 after violence that saw the army kill some 350 of his followers, Igbere TV reports.
