RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 24TH AUGUST

KINGDOM LIFE THROUGH THE WORD

For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is living by God’s power (1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT).

God’s Word is so powerful; it enlightens and unveils the Kingdom of God to your spirit. As you study and meditate on the Word, there’s a communication between your spirit and the Spirit of God.

The more of God’s Word you have in your spirit, the greater the understanding of the Kingdom of God you’d have, and the more real that Kingdom would be to you. You’ll become Kingdom-conscio
us, walking and living the Kingdom-life “now.”

Through the knowledge deposited in your spirit, you’ll function with Kingdom principles, and superimpose those principles upon this world and all its circumstances.

Always take the ministry of the Word seriously. Consciously invest time, energy, resources, in the education and training of your spirit. In our ministry, we have a vast reservoir of faith-building teachings for the development and edification of your spirit. Order these materials, which are available in different formats. Subscribe to The Pastor Chris Digital Library and have access to audio and video messages that’ll transform your life and teach you to have Kingdom consciousness, and help you live an ever-winning, victorious, and triumphant life.

That’s not all! You must also help, and keep helping the lost in your world to come into the same divine experience—this Kingdom-life of triumph. It’s our responsibility to spread this message around the world.

We’re called to pull men out of darkness, into the Kingdom of light, and this is what Jesus came for: “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). We’re the ones making His dream come to fruition today. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I rejoice at the investment of your Word in my spirit, and the enlightenment and development it brings to me. I’m inspired, taught, trained, nurtured and fortified for the Kingdom-life, in and by the Word. I’m positioned for greatness, living the triumphant, prosperous life through the power and effectual working of your Word in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Full Spectrum CBD The R in REAL wellness, namely reason, can also be identified as critical thinking, respect for evidence and science and rationality, among other terms that mean the same things. An emphasis on reason is a counter to the Full Spectrum CBD absence or undervalued nature of these qualities associated with superstitions - and much of alternative, so-called complementary medicine. The latter are subjective, unsupported by facts and impressionistic and/or spiritual.   Gloria Makanjuola Jailed In UK For Robbery And Theft (Photo)

Nigerian woman in the United Kingdom, Gloria Makanjuola, who committed a series of robberies and theft on buses in Hackney, even targeting an 87-year-old woman, has been jailed.

Makanjuola, 28, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court to two years and eight months' imprisonment after pleading guilty to eight counts of robbery, four counts of theft and four counts of fraud at an earlier hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court.

Makanjuola committed the offences between September 2018 and October 2018 across Hackney. Her victims were aged between 18 and 87 years and all the offences occurred on buses in Hackney. One victim, an 87-year-old man, was targeted by Makanjuola as he travelled on a route around Wick Road.

She sat next to the victim and tried to put her hands in his pocket, he told her to stop but she managed to grab around £80 in cash. On another occasion, an 18-year-old woman was on board a route 277 bus in the area of Mare Street, E5 when Makanjuola started talking to her. During the conversation, she kept touching the victim and was crying.

The victim told her to leave her alone, Makanjuola then left the bus by pressing the emergency exit button. When the victim got up to leave the bus, she noticed that her purse and oyster card had been stolen. Detective Sergeant Coleman, the senior investigating officer from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, said;

“Gloria Makanjuola was a prolific offender in the Hackney area. She targeted vulnerable passengers using the bus network system, committing robbery or theft offences. If bank cards were stolen, she used the opportunity to use the cards to make contactless payments at local stores.

“Working in partnership with the Safer Transport Teams and Transport for London, Makanjuola was identified and arrested for various robbery and theft related offences. I would like to thank the victims in this investigation who had the courage to report these matters and assist in the police investigation. Without their support, this outcome would not have been possible.”

CCTV footage was obtained from the buses and Makanjuola was identified by the investigation team and Safer Transport Team officers A number of the victims were able to recognise Makanjuola during the course of formal identification parades. Detective Superintendent Andy Cox, the lead investigator for transport network crime across London, said;

“We are focused on targeting prolific criminals like Makanjuola who target and prey on the most vulnerable commuters. Through extensive CCTV coverage across the transport network, we are able to identify and bring offenders to justice.”

The court also heard that Makanjuola is currently serving a sentence for similar offences which she committed last year in the Hackney area. She was imprisoned for two years.

Nigerian man sentenced to four years in prison for $8.3 million fraud in U.S

47-year-old Ayodeji Fatunmbi, has been handed a 4-year-jail sentence after being found guilty of defrauding the United States government of $8.3 million through a fraudulent durable medical equipment (DME) scheme.

The Nigerian man was sentenced to 4 years in prison by U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder, and also ordered to pay $1.1 million in restitution to American government.

He was charged for the fraudulent act alongside 47-year-old Olufunke Fadojutimi of Carson in California and 44-year-old Maritza Elizabeth Velasquez from Las Vegas in Nevada. The statement on the US Department of State Website reads in part;

Quote:As part of his guilty plea, Fatunmbi admitted that he and others paid cash kickbacks to patient recruiters and physicians for fraudulent prescriptions for DME such as power wheelchairs, which the Medicare beneficiaries did not have a legitimate medical need.  Fatunmbi and co-conspirators caused Lutemi Medical Supply (Lutemi), a DME supply company that he co-ran, to submit approximately $8.3 million in claims to Medicare, which resulted in the company being paid over $3.5 million.
Fatunmbi further admitted that he was responsible for $2,090,434 in false and fraudulent claims for medically unnecessary DME and that as a result of his conduct, Medicare paid Lutemi a total of $1,076,893.  In furtherance of this scheme, Fatunmbi and a co-conspirator wrote checks from Lutemi’s bank account to Lutemi employees and others, and Fatunmbi instructed that those monies be returned to him to pay the illegal cash kickbacks to the patient recruiters and doctors, he admitted.  Fatummbi admittedly directed others at Lutemi to engage in these tranactions to conceal the nature and source of the proceeds of the health care fraud conspiracy.
Velasquez pleaded guilty on July 24, 2013, to one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison and restitution in the amount of $3,411,428.  Fadojutimi was found guilty after a jury trial on July 31, 2014, of one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, seven counts of health care fraud and one count of money laundering, and was sentenced to four years in prison and restitution in the amount of $4,372,466.
This case was investigated by the HHS-OIG, the FBI and IRS-CI.  Trial Attorneys Claire Yan, Emily Z. Culbertson and Justin P. Givens of the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section are prosecuting the case.  The Asset Forfeiture Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California is handling the asset forfeiture aspects of the case.

President Buhari departs Nigeria for Japan

President Buhari will depart Abuja on Sunday August 25th for Japan to participate in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in the City of Yokohama, August 28-30, 2019.

According to a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s participation will be his second, having attended TICAD6 in Nairobi, Kenya, in August 2016.

With the theme, “Africa and Yokohama, Sharing Passion for the Future,” the Opening Session of TICAD7 will be performed by the Japanese Prime Minister and host, Shinzo Abe.

At the event, President Buhari will deliver Nigeria’s statement during Plenary Session Three in which he will appraise Nigeria-Japan relations and takeaways from TICAD6. He will attend a State Banquet and also honour the invitation of Emperor Naruhito to a Tea Reception at the Imperial Palace, Tokyo. In addition to a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Abe, the Nigerian President will also attend some side-events and meet chief executive officers of some Japanese companies with huge investments in Nigeria.

Formed in 1993, the now triennial TICAD, which has been convened alternately in Japan and Africa since TICAD6, according to the organisers, is the largest international conference held in Japan which “provides an open forum that generates innovative discussion among various stakeholders on African development.” Participants are drawn not only from African countries, but also international organisations, private companies and civil society organisations involved in development.

TCAD7 is expected to focus on Africa’s “economic transformation and improvements in business environment and institution through private investment and innovation; promotion of resilient and sustainable African society for human security; and peace and stability in support of Africa’s domestic proactive efforts.”

Nigeria has gained tremendously since her participation in TICAD6 at the highest level, during which Japan pledged $30 billion investment “for the future of Africa combined with the private sector;” $10 billion infrastructure investment, and $500 million for vocational training of 50,000 Africans.

Since the Nairobi Conference, Japanese government and companies have been very active in supporting Nigeria’s agriculture, healthcare, electricity and youth empowerment.

President Buhari and his delegation are expected in Yokohama to push for broader Japanese assistance in the areas of science and technology, innovation, human resource development, education, agriculture, power, health and disaster risk reduction, among others.

President Buhari will be accompanied by Governors Babagana Zulum, AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Borno, Kwara and Lagos States respectively; ministers and other top government officials.

The President is expected back in Nigeria on Saturday, August 31.

Med-View ‘shuts’ operations as planes go out of service

Med-View ‘shuts’ operations as planes go out of service

Staffers and shareholders of Med-View Airlines Plc may be in for more difficult times, as the airline has shut down flight operations.
The blackout, as observed Monday, was not unconnected with the airline’s only operating aircraft, B737-500, suddenly going out-of-service.
The development has, however, thrown some workers into panic mode as they groan over harsh realities due to an unpaid salary that varies between three months and one year.

The management of the airline told The Guardian that the “downtime” was temporary, as the technical issues were due to be resolved for operations to resume shortly.

Med-View is the only local commercial operator on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). But the airline has lately been in dire straits, posting at its last July annual general meeting a record after-tax loss of N10.33 billion, a 293 per cent drop from 2017 profit.
The management, at the stormy Y2018 meeting in Lagos, pleaded with stakeholders to bear with the zero dividend declared, as it assured that fortunes would soon improve when three aircraft on routine C-checks returned to operations.

Recall that the airline pulled out of the London Gatwick and Dubai routes last year after a brief stint in the international market, citing harsh local operating environment, aircraft leasing programme that went awry and aggressive aeropolitics.
The workers are also feeling the pinch. Between November 2017 and June 2018, the airline laid off a huge chunk of its workforce especially the outstation offices.

The surviving workforce is now alleging unpaid salary against the management. Sources disclosed that the airline last paid crewmember last March, while pilots are owed six months. Other categories of workers are owed for as much one year.
“We no longer have regular staff captains, but captains on contract. That is what they can afford,” an inside source said.
A member of the crew, who preferred anonymity, said they had been off duty since last week, “but for me, it is good radiance to bad rubbish.”

“The essence of working is to earn a living but when such efforts are jettisoned by management that deliberately denies the workers of their wages, life becomes the cheapest commodity without value.
“The survival of the airline is anchored on the only existing serviceable Boeing 737-500 deplored to service her Abuja route, which is not enough commitment to pay a workforce with a reduced staff strength following series of retrenchment.
“Today, no staff of the airline can pride themselves of paying their children’s school fees as their children and wards are constantly been harassed and driven from school.
“Many of these staff have resorted to signing a series of undertaking to allow their wards the chance to study in schools. My question is that, for how long can these undertakings be signed by these parents without hope of paying anytime soon?”

Another worker said they trusted the management for so long but lately got fed up after several failed promises.
The staff explained that the Chief Executive Officer had in a parley last January, pledged to pay up the accumulated salary.

The recommendation submitted observed that 50 per cent of April to September salary would be paid as an addition to a full salary from October upward.
“Nothing of such was implemented; rather we saw a payment plan that we were paid half month salaries. But where is that done?”

The airline is estimated to owe sacked and existing workers over N1.5billion in salary arrears, pension, and other entitlements.

Top official of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), observed that the airline has for some months operated an airplane for commercial services, contrary to the minimum of two mandated by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.

“Yes, our rules say two aircraft minimum but we do allow one aircraft with some service conditions. An airline that is grounded cannot pay salary or service debt.

“This airline in question is heavily indebted to NCAA. They used to pay promptly before but along the line, they started to owe. That explains some of the concession granted but on the unpaid salary claims, we will look into it.”
Spokesperson of the NCAA, Sam Adurogboye, said the apex regulator was aware of the alleged outstanding and it was investigated between June and July this year.

Adurogboye said the airline was summoned but both management and selected workers came forward with evidence of payment, which made it difficult for NCAA to probe further.

The Chief Accountable Officer of the airline, Michael Ajigbotosho, didn’t deny the outstanding claims, citing good relationship and understanding between the parties.

Ajigbotosho added that the operating aircraft had technical issues that are currently been addressed.
“Our workers are part of the family. None of them is complaining. If there are complaints, they are from outside. We are having downtime but we will be back shortly,” he said.
CEO of the airline, Muneer Bankole, had recently assured the stakeholders that the airline was restrategising its fleet operations to return to prominence on the local front.

Bankole said: “We have three classic aircraft that were all due for C-check at the same time. One is in Israel, another in Estonia and third was flying, but we got the money from the bank to put the second aircraft to use and so, it had been taken to Aero Maintenance base. I assure you that the third aircraft would soon be on the ground, because the domestic operation is our major market.

“We promise to do more than expected. Expect beautiful operations when the three aircraft get fully operational soon and each aircraft would be yielding about N376 million monthly. We also assure you that we will not lease aircraft, as we are working with a strategic partner in order to get a new aircraft into our fleet.”

Godwin Uba
In every nation of the world, an economic reform is a continuous process. Agricultural & economic reforms aimed at improving on the self-sufficiency rate of food. This reforms aim to reviewing the basic law of food, Agriculture and Rural Areas promulgated and to increase the self-sufficiency rate of food on a calorie basis from its present level to 45 percent as at the year 2018.

Despite the advent of Globalization all the developed economies of the world are very keen on the issue of self-sufficiency especially as relates to food and drinks.
The same view of self-sufficiency led to the Japanese Government comparison with other developed economies in the area of self-sufficiency rate which led them to think of Agricultural reforms.

Based on the efforts of other parts of the world, the present Government had introduced Agricultural reforms which led banning of imported frozen chicken and turkey. The main objective behind this policy is to encourage local poultry farmers as well as creation of new industries that will process the chicken produced by the nation’s numerous poultry farmers into the so called “frozen chicken”.

The ban has created another lucrative business opportunities for Nigeria investors. If this opportunity is well utilized it will go a long way to discourage the importation of frozen chicken/turkey and other similar products into the country. It will make poultry/ livestock farming more lucrative, since more farmers would be created out of the policy.

From study carried out, the ban has led to high cost of available frozen chicken and other such related food items.
Furthermore, the ban on importation of the frozen chicken has thrown some Nigerians out of business since a lot of the petty traders cannot afford the cost of running the business.

Moreover some merchants still smuggle frozen chicken and turkey into the country, but their prices are out of the reach of the teeming population of poor masses. These smugglers pay through their noses to pass through customs check points. By the time their products arrive into the country, the prices of the commodities will go up.

The only solution to these problems is to develop a project that will compete favorably with the imported products in terms of quality and quantity.
This project is considered a very good one and will be in a position to replace the imported products.
There is no doubt that the demand for chicken/ turkey grows expands every day with the rapid increase in population of Nigeria (now estimated at about 140 million) there is need to increase food items as well.

The level of consumption of any food (including chicken) is direct proportional with the increase in population. As the population increases, urbanization also increases. All this creates awareness and changes in tastes and preferences.
With the fast increase in the numbers of fast food centers, the need for increase in the setting up of local chicken processing and packaging plants will not be over emphasis. There are so many fast food centers that require several tons of processed chicken. There are so many market women that are in need of where to purchase that processed live chicken for sales. Therefore study has shown that there is wide market for this product.
For one to set up this project there is need to asses some vital requirements to ensure the success of this project. One of such requirement is availability of raw materials.

One may ask how we can get sufficient live chicken on daily basis so as to remain in business.
From research carried out, so many poultry farmers are looking forward to seeing where they will sell their products for immediate cash on maturity. From survey carried out, raw material will not be a problem.

Details will be given to prospective investors on contacting the writer.
Another important thing is the Technology. The major machines required are processing machines, Deep freezers and other miscellaneous equipment.
There is need to have a very good standby generator so as to store the products as they are produced. All the machines are locally available. They can as well be imported from oversea.

Detail will be given to prospective investors.
It is very imported to mention that NAFDAC consent must be sought since this project related to foods & drinks. Therefore, all the rules and regulations of NAFDAC must be followed.
Based on our rough estimate the promoter(s) should provide at least N29, 000, 000 for take-off. This can be sealed down as well depending on the promoter.

The payback period is about two (2) yeas. The return on investment is 58%. The cost-benefit ratio analysis is in the ratio of 1:3 tons.
Finally, this project will go a long way to increase the supply base of frozen chicken to bridge the gap between the short in supply as a result of the ban; increase employment opportunities, create more selling points for the numerous poultry/livestock farmers and at the same time generate huge income to prospective investors.

Interested investors should also note that they can take advantage of the SMIEs funding scheme to obtain part of the funds required to set up this project.

Some poultry farmers or those who may wish to set up poultry livestock farms can benefit so much from investing in this project.
For details on the procurement and installations for the machines (both local & foreign), preparation of comprehensive & bankable feasibility studies/reports, sourcing of the required funds as well as other investment advisory services on industrial projects please contact the writer.

FG to overhaul refineries for three years to drive local production

[Image: Untitled-1-5.jpg]Port Harcourt Refinery

To achieve its 2023 target of ensuring local refineries operate optimally, the Federal Government has said it has begun the overhauling of the facilities, commencing with the Port Harcourt refinery.Giving itself a three-year deadline, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said it plans to review operations of the refineries, support condensate plants, and open the midstream sector.

Indeed, the nation’s four refineries recorded operation of just 5.55 per cent of their combined nameplate capacity of around 445,000 barrels per day (b/d), according to data released in late Ma,y by the NNPC, underlining that the oil-rich nation still relies heavily on imports for its fuel needs.

Nigeria’s refineries, which include the northern Kaduna refinery and two plants located in Port Harcourt, and the Warri refinery, have not operated beyond a quarter of their nameplate capacity for some time, mainly due to sabotage attacks on pipelines carrying crude to the plants as well as technical problems after years of neglect.

NNPC announced in March, that it had secured the service of Italy’s Maire Tecnimont to handle the overhaul of the 210,000 b/d Port Harcourt refinery complex, with oil major Eni appointed as a technical adviser.

Group Managing Director, NNPC, Mele Kyari, while speaking on ‘Harnessing oil and gas potential for national development’, at the yearly conference of the Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC), said Nigeria remains a net importer of petroleum products due to the current state of the refineries, and the long absence of private investment in the refining sector.

Kyari, who was represented by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Corporation, Umar Ajiya, said the refineries had not been rehabilitated for a long time, adding that rehabilitation programme will aid local production.

“Thus, we require more investment to revamp and expand our domestic refineries and associated infrastructures to support the growth of the downstream sector and guaranty energy security to the nation. In this respect, NNPC under my purview would leave no stone unturned to ensure our 445,000-barrel refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna work to an appreciable level or capacity.

“We are progressing with the establishment of condensate refineries to fast-track domestic supply of petroleum products. In the same vein, the corporation would support the actualisation of the 650Kbbl/day Dangote Refinery, as well as other private initiatives along this line. Our plan is for Nigeria to become a net exporter of petroleum products by 2023,” he said.Kyari, however, emphasised the need for an enabling environment to attract the right investment that is being subdued by the nation’s fiscal regimes.

According to him, the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), must run its full cycle this 9th National Assembly, implying that there is an absolute need to fast track its enactment processes. “Related to this is the fact that we need to build on the security of the nation’s Industry assets across the country. As stakeholders in the commonwealth, we must ensure we keep away miscreants from our pipelines to pave the way for efficient operations in the sector,” he added.

On his part, the Chairman, Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS), and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Nigeria, Paul McGrath, expressed concerns about the cost of doing business in the country, adding that security costs were escalating.McGrath urged government and operators to explore modalities and mechanisms for cost reduction, while advocating stable and competitive fiscal policies and a healthy contract integrity culture.

‘Local Refining of Aviation Fuel Will Save Nigerian Carriers’

Chinedu Eze
Airline operators have called for local refining of aviation fuel, known as Jet A1, in order to enable them survive and operate profitably.
The product takes over 30 per cent of the airlines’ operational cost.
The operators said if locally refined, the product would become cheaper and available and this would help them project their cost and plan ahead in their operations.
Currently, the product is imported and the prices fluctuate according to landing cost and availability, as the prices could go up without warning, which hampers long term planning.

Also because of the high cost of the product in Nigeria, foreign airlines that operate into the country buy their fuel from Ghana and some from Togo, which has functioning refineries; unlike in Nigeria where the existing refineries are in comatose.

Owing to this, operators are demanding that now the refineries are slated for turnaround maintenance, the ones in Warri and Kaduna should prioritise refining of Jet A1 in addition to other products so that while the Kaduna refinery distributes the product in the northern part of the country, the Warri refinery would supply to the southern airports.

The Executive Chairman of Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), Captain Nogie Meggison, said Nigerian airlines would significantly improve their revenue and spend less on operations if aviation fuel is produced locally because the prices would be lower than what is currently obtained and would also be more stable.
He, however, lamented that the refineries have not been rehabilitated for a long time, hoping that this time the turnaround maintenance would be executed as planned and priority given to aviation fuel refining.

The Director of Consumer Protection Directorate of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Adamu Abdullahi, said in the past, the Kaduna and the Warri refineries were dedicated to aviation fuel refining, which made the product available but since the refineries went under, Nigeria has continued to import the product, which keep the prices very high in Nigeria, while it is sold cheaper in Ghana, Togo and all West African countries.
In fact, THISDAY learnt that the cost of aviation fuel in Nigeria is the highest among countries that are in peace in Africa and that there are cartels that encourage the continued import of the product.

Former Managing Director of Capital Airlines and currently industry consultant with Etimfri Group, Amos Akpan, told THISDAY that as at today, aviation fuel constitutes 40– 45 per cent of the cost of operating a Boeing 737 aircraft in Nigeria for one hour.
“The unit price of aviation fuel is between N220 to N240 per litre. The B737 burns between 3000 litres and 3500 litres per hour on flight. This varies per aircraft type but it’s safe to say that same principle can be applied in accordance with the aircraft type.
“This means all other components share 55 per cent – 60 per cent of the cost of operations. We must remember that insurance cost has risen, cost of funding is higher, maintenance and crew cost have also risen.
“Airlines are still paying customs duty and double taxes – CIT and VAT. In the light of the above, lower price of aviation fuel will help reduce the high cost of airline operations in Nigeria.

“I remember when we used to operate cargo flights into Nigeria. We planned our flights such that we took fuel in and out at Benghazi in Libya to cut our cost. Benghazi airport gained in handling and landing fees because of lower fuel cost.
“I can’t verify but I have heard in aviation circles that some foreign airlines operating into Nigeria prefer to stop in Accra for refuel,” Akpan said.
He also noted that there was absolutely no reason for Nigeria to be importing aviation fuel, diesel, kerosene, diesel, or liquefied natural gas.
“Models of refineries abound in countries all over the world. There are sufficient Nigerian technical personnel all over this world to build and manage refineries. Why we have not done so has not been lack of money, and not lack of crude oil.
“Whenever we Nigerians decide to refine our fuel from our oil in our refineries nobody will stop us. Which refinery we will then decide to allocate for production of aviation fuel will also be decided by us. For now, we seem to be interested in individual and small group gains. “The world is moving on and when it becomes obvious that decisions at the world stage are taken without due consideration or the influence of Nigeria, we will do the needful,” he said.

African LNG to Attract $103bn in 2019

Africa is an exciting frontier in the global natural gas sector, as Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Mozambique, Senegal and Mauritania lead investment across supply and demand driven projects.
The continent holds 7.1 percent of proven global gas reserves and is expected to contribute nearly 10 percent of global production growth through to 2024. This was disclosed at the 5th Gas Summit in Africa, Malabo 2019.
On the demand side, Africa’s large, urbanised and industrialised societies of the future would require reliable and sustainable power generation. With greenfield investments in Nigeria, Egypt, Mozambique and elsewhere reaching nearly $103 billion this year it is clear that liquefaction is viewed as the most profitable strategy for realizing Africa’s gas potential. Nigeria accounts for over 50 per cent of current LNG production capacity on the continent With October 2019 seeing a final investment decision on the $12 billion expansion of the country’s liquefaction plant at Bonny Island in Rivers State.

The Train 7 expansion project would increase Nigerian LNG production capacity by 35 percent, from 22 million tons per annum to 30 million. Current indications point to a positive verdict The twenty-year-old facility is owned and operated by a consortium, which includes NNPC, Shell, Total and Eni.
In North Africa, Egypt has successfully re-established itself as an important investment destination following the downturn in the gas sector in 2014. In the first half of 2019, the behemoth Zohr offshore gas field produced 11.3 billion cubic meters – 3.6 times more than it did in 1H2018. The success is set to continue with reports earlier this year of a new Eni discovery in the Nour North Sinai Concession Evaluation is ongoing but there are hopes that the new field could rival the Zohr, which would open significant opportunities for investment in new liquification plants. In February, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Corporation awarded five new gas exploration concessions to Shell, ExxonMobil, Petronas, DEA and Eni in which it expects to see 20 wells drilled
In June, Anadarko gave its final approval for a $20 billion gas liquefaction and export terminal in Mozambique. The Area 1 project is the single largest LNG project ever approved in Africa And, it could be closely followed by Exxon’s $14.7 billion Area 4 development – FID is expected before the end of the year Political stability and access to east Asian markets could see Mozambique become a major global gas market over the next decade.

Omashola Oburoh, a housemate in the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show, has stunned fans with his creative project, ‘Omashola TV’.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Omashola’s makeshift television was part of the wager presentation by his group, ‘The Icons’.

The television was modeled after the old box televisions that required aerial tuning, and contained programmes such as the BBNaija show and Warri TV.
Omashola designed the television entirely from scrap, waste material in line with the theme of the wager task.
The innovation earned him praise from other housemates, especially Mike who specially congratulated him.

NAN reports that Ike’s handmade chess board was another highlight of the wager presentation.
He collaborated with Cindy and Khafi to paint and make chess miniatures from waste materials.

Omashola TV, Ike’s chess/checkers board and Khafi’s quote were major contributors to ‘The Icons’ win over ‘Cruisetopia’.
The team had their third win in a row on Thursday, following their last wager and nomination task win.

The Kogi State National Assembly/State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal has quashed the victory of Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial district. Melaye (PDP) was declared winner in the February election by INEC but Senator Smart Adeyemi (APC) approached the tribunal, challenging INEC declaration on three grounds of irregularities, over voting and non compliance with the electoral acts.

He tweeted,

Quote:On Tribunal judgement. No cause 4 alarm at all. Even if it went my way they will still go to the Appeal Court. Our mandate can not be taken. We will get judgment at the Appeal Court. There will be fresh election in Kogi West bc I will be Governor. For my Senate mandate no shaking.

Police salaries unchanged 10 months after FG-approved increment
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 08-23-2019, 12:51 PM - No Replies

Ten months after President Muhammadu Buhari approved an increase in police salaries and allowances, men of the Nigeria Police Force have yet to receive the pay rise.

The directive had not been implemented going by complaints from the rank and file of the force who lamented that they were still being paid old salaries.

The President had in November 2018, approved an enhanced salary structure for the NPF.

By the approval of the Rank Salary Structure Adjustment, salaries, allowances and pension of policemen were expected to be increased, though the percentage of the increment was not disclosed.

But junior and senior police officers, who spoke to our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday, flayed the government, describing the directive as “an empty promise.”

Speaking on condition of anonymity, an Assistant Superintendent of Police stated that his expectations had been dashed following the failure of the government to implement the new salary structure.

The ASP, who is serving in the Federal Capital Territory, noted that the delayed implementation of the presidential directive showed that the FG was not serious about the welfare of the police.

He said, “When we heard about the pay rise for policemen, we were excited, but what did we get for our expectations? We have nothing but disappointment.

“If the pay rise was meant for the political class, it would have been implemented within weeks. The non-implementation of the new salary structure has demoralised many of us.”

A Commissioner of Police, who pleaded not to be named, also knocked the government for not prioritising the welfare of the police.

A mobile policeman in Lagos also lamented that the wait for the new salary was getting long.

The Force spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, declined to comment.

However, a security analyst, Ben Okezie, said it was unfortunate that the government could pay the furniture and car allowances for new members of the National Assembly while ignoring police welfare.

He added, “The President should do everything possible to implement the pay rise. They (FG) don’t have any excuse not to pay the new salary structure.”

The Executive Director, United Global Resolve for Peace, Shalom Olaseni, argued that the failure of the Buhari administration to enforce the directive on pay rise would demoralise the men of the Force.

“Low remuneration has long been identified as part of the reasons Nigerian police officers compromise on their sworn duties to uphold the law; the increase in their salaries allowances would go a long way to discourage such misconduct,” he said.

An activist and Convener, Free Nigeria Movement, Raphael Adebayo, said the non-implementation of the pay rise showed that the much-touted commitment of the President to national security was suspect.

Olaseni stated, “It is an indictment on the often-mouthed commitment of the Federal Government to ending the insecurity crises in the country. You cannot be promising to end insecurity on the one hand and continue to deprive those who would bring about the fulfilment of that promise on the other.”

17 die in auto-crash along Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa expressway in Kwara State

17-people were killed in an auto-crash on Thursday, August 22nd at Bacita junction, on Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa expressway in Kwara State.

The accident involved an 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus and an articulated DAF trunk carrying container. An eyewitness account revealed that the accident was due to speeding and dangerous driving as the two vehicles had an head-on collision at a bend along the highway.

The source said that while 17 passengers in the bus were killed, two occupants of the articulated vehicle suffered various degrees of injuries. Udeme Eshiet, the Head of Operations of the Kwara command, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the road mishap.  He explained that the DAF container truck was going towards Jebba, in the Kwara North District, while the passengers’ bus was coming to Ilorin, the state capital, from the Northern Nigeria when the crash occurred.

The FRSC official said the crash occurred at a sharp bend, as a result of speeding, which led to head-on collision by the two vehicles.

Quote:“Due to excess speeding in which the two drivers were involved while driving their vehicles at the time when the crash occurred, they could not negotiate the sharp bend properly, and when they eventually met, it resulted in head on collision,” he said.
He said the remains of the deceased had been taken to a hospital in Ilorin, with the injured victims for treatment.

Jada Pinkett Smith says sex toys are the key to her successful marriage with Will Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith has credited the use of sex toys for her successful marriage to Will Smith.

The celebrity couple have been married for 22 years and Jada confessed the reason her marriage has lasted over two decades is their spicy sex life.

She told The Sun's Bizarre column: "People are shocked about my love for using sex toys. I know damn well I'm not the only one that uses them. Nobody has to feel any shame about it but I'm still surprised how people relate to sex, specifically female sexuality - it's still such a taboo."

The Red Table Talk host also said opening up about their marriage problems has brought her and Smith, 50, closer and she hopes it inspires others when they see that their relationship isn't perfect.

She said: "Will and I really wanted to dissolve the myths that surround partnerships that are in the public eye, as if they're easy. Those partnerships are going through the exact kind of difficulties everyone else is going through. We got a lot of positive responses from people in our industry. I think it gave people the opportunity to sit down with their partner."

The mother-of-two previously admitted her relationship with Smith is not a "conventional marriage".

She said: "I knew that I was not built for conventional marriage. Even the word 'wife': it's a golden cage, swallow the key. Even before I was married, I was like, 'That'll kill me.' And it damn near did! So why wouldn't you share what you've been through, when you see that other people are out there, trying to figure this crap out? We decided to make it public because it's part of the healing. I feel like if we don't have real understanding about it, I don't know if interpersonal relationships are possible."

Serial killer who killed six gay men after his girlfriend dumped him becomes 13th person to be executed in America this year

Gary Ray Bowles a 57-year-old man who admitted to killing six gay men in 1994 from Florida to Maryland has been executed.

Bowles confessed to all six killings, but has been tried, convicted and sentenced to death for just one - that of Walter Hinton, who was killed in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

He met his victims in bars and, in each case, the victims were found with objects shoved down their throats.

These included a sex toy, toilet paper and a towel, prosecutors said.

Hinton was the last of the six murders, carried out in a gruesome eight-month period across Florida, Georgia and Maryland.

Investigators say Bowles left an abusive household as a child and worked as a prostitute to gay men for a number of years before beginning his killing spree.

After two jail sentences for grand theft, robbery, assault and rape, he moved to Daytona Beach in 1993.

During this time he continued to work as a prostitute, and was living with a girlfriend who left him after discovering his sex work.

He later told authorities that he blamed gay men for their break-up, and was angered to learn that his girlfriend had done an abortion.

He is the 13th person to be executed in the US so far this year, the Death Penalty Information Center says.

Buhari appointed EFCC guests as ministers – Timi Frank

Political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank has said that the corrupt pedigree of some personalities that now populate President Muhammadu Buhari’s new cabinet shows that governance in the country has been officially and effectively handed over to looters and manifestly corrupt individuals.
He called on Nigerians to lower their expectations for true dividends of democracy but should rather expect unprecedented and astronomical rise in the level of corruption in the country during the period the current administration will remain in office.

Reacting to the inauguration of new Ministers and assignment of portfolios released on Wednesday, Frank, in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, said nothing positive can come from the new Ministers because “70 to 80 per cent of them have at one time or the other been guests of the anti-corruption agencies with most of them still battling corruption charges in court.”
According to Frank, “there will be more corruption in this cabinet than in any other administration in the history of Nigeria as some of the Ministers purchased their slots and would want to recoup their investments at the detriment of Nigeria and Nigerians.
“Therefore, I urge Nigerians to brace up for more hardships as corruption and incompetence have been enthroned with corruption masters turned Ministers to run the affairs of government in Nigeria.

“Buhari told Nigerians in 2015 that he will cut his salary by 50 per cent, reduce the aircraft in the presidential fleet before he became President. He also said he would reduce the cars in the Presidential convoy.
“But Nigerians can testify that this was never done. He neither reduced his salary, aircraft in the presidential fleet nor cars in his convoy.
“With this therefore, it is clear to Nigerians that General Buhari is a product of lies who has continued to live and rule with falsehood. It is clear that Nigeria cannot move forward under this circumstances because darkness and light have nothing in common.”

Reacting to Buhari’s directive that ministers who want to see him must go through his Chief of Staff or the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Frank queried: “What is the President still doing in office? By this action, he has completely abdicated his responsibilities and declared himself unavailable and unfit to occupy the Office of President.
“To subordinate ministers to the whims and caprices of his aides represent a gross abuse of office and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“This is impunity of the highest order and a criminal alienation of the states of the federation that these ministers represent. Effectively, General Buhari’s misguided order means that the CoS and SGF are the de facto presidents.”
He said that another reason why Nigerians must not take Buhari and his cabinet serious is that he is not a man of integrity.
“In 2015, while campaigning, General Buhari promised to reduce the cost of governance if elected. After his election, he appointed 36 Ministers in apparent fulfilment of the promise. Why did he appoint 43 Ministers in 2019?
“We don’t need seer to know that ballooning of the cabinet would greatly increase government administrative cost and impact negatively on his ability to deliver on infrastructural development in the face of dwindling national revenue.
“Never in the history of Nigeria has any President appointed 43 Ministers. What has changed between 2015 and 2019 that led to this atrocious expansion of the cabinet?” Frank asked.

Ex-INEC boss, Iwu reveals when his ordeal with EFCC started
[Image: Maurice-Iwu.jpg]

Prof. Maurice Iwu, embattled former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has disclosed that his troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) began during the last presidential election.
In a statement he personally signed and issued to reporters in Owerri, Iwu claimed EFCC operatives seized his international passport and prevented him from voting in the February 23, 2019 presidential poll.

Recall that the EFCC had arraigned Iwu before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on a four-count charge bordering on money laundering.

Quote:Ex-INEC Chair, Iwu arrives court over alleged money laundering
Iwu’s press statement read in part, “The journey I have found myself on began brewing on February 23, 2019 when I was deprived of my civic duty of voting in the presidential election as a result of the EFCC investigations.

“From the seizure of my international passport that February till this recent ordeal with actual charges and detention, God’s goodness has remained manifest as I recite Te Deum in thanksgiving.
“I want to thank Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora for their enormous show of concern, support and the spiritual discipline (for not crucifying me before my day in the court of law).
“My gratitude goes to Ndi Igbo, umu Imo, Okigwe indigenes (both at home and abroad), and clerics from various denominations, especially of the Catholic faith, which I belong to.

“The support was not just in words of encouragement but more in actions of prayers; for in it all, the glory of God was made manifest. Though I ask the same question Ps. 4:2a stated, “How long, oh men will you turn my glory into shame?’
“It is noteworthy that none of the charges against me has to do with my tenure as Chairman of INEC.
“And to the scientific community, please be assured that this would not negatively affect the several ongoing work by Bioresources Institute of Nigeria (BION) in contributing to the discovery and development of phytomedicines for tropical and emergent diseases, and the use of our world-class research facility for the standardisation of African Medicinal Plants,” he said.

Quote:Ado-Ekiti – A commercial motorcyclist has reportedly raped his landlady to death in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.

The shocking incident occurred on Thursday at Olorunda area of the state. Vanguard gathered that the mother of three, described by family member as a middle-aged woman, was at home alone after her husband had gone to work while the children were said to have gone for holiday coaching when the incident happened.

The suspected tenant was alleged to have broken into the woman’s room, threatened her with a cutlass and tied her up before performing the dastardly act

It was also gathered that after the act, the tenant fled the house but some of his belongings were found in the room which suggested that he was responsible for the act. One of the children of the deceased who spoke with Vanguard said he saw the tenant on a bike while coming home but never knew he had killed his mum at home.

The question on the lips of the residents of the area who gathered at the house of the deceased was what strange spirit could have taken possession of the young man to have committed such a dastard act.

The husband of the deceased and her children could not hold their tears as they wept profusely. The police public Relations Officer Caleb Ikechukwu, who confirmed the incident, said the police had swung into action to bring the suspect to book.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 23RD AUGUST

APPRAISE YOUR SOUL-WINNING EFFORTS

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV)..

The Message Translation renders our opening verse beautifully. It says, “Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups….” This is one of the things you must learn to do for yourself as a Christian; having an honest self appraisal of how far you’ve grown and are growing in your faith-walk.

For example, you should be able to appraise yourself on your soul-winning efforts. You ought to do this from time to time. Review your convictions about the Gospel. If you’ve been a Christian for a long period, and you’ve been receiving the Word, it’ll be inappropriate for you to require cajoling or “encouraging” to actively win souls for Christ. You should be self-motivated through the Spirit.

Remember, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only hope for the world today, and no sacrifice could be too great for this course. Paul said, “…woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). So, have an honest assessment of your involvement in soul winning. Don’t say, “It’s for the Pastors and leaders of the Church”; no! It’s the personal responsibility of every Christian. Therefore, set personal targets for the number of souls to win for Christ and do it.

It’s like what we read in the parable of the sower; Jesus said, “…A sower went out to sow” (Matthew 13:3 NKJV). The seeds sown, which fell on good ground produced a harvest: “…some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold” (Matthew 13:8). The Word that was sown “brought forth!” The question then is, at what level are you “bringing forth”; reproducing souls for the Kingdom?

Are you still at the same “thirty-fold” level of soul winning that you were when you initially gave your heart to Christ? You should move to the hundred-fold level. In other words, be all out for the Gospel as though it depended on you alone to reach the whole world. That’s the right attitude you must have for the Gospel.

Review and increase your commitment to the Gospel; and as you increase your commitment, the Lord will grant you more grace for greater effectiveness and capacity to win more souls to Christ. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for counting me faithful, putting me in the ministry to deliver those bound by the shackles of darkness, into the glorious liberty of the sons of God. More than ever, I’m totally sold-out to soul winning, led on by your grace to do greater exploits for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#TALKINGSESSION

23RD AUGUST.

Dear Father, I thank You for the Word, by which I am transformed. The Word is in my heart, working on my mind and giving me the right mindset. Your Word, oh Lord, is my meditation day and night, and it produces in and through me, the character of its message. The Holy Spirit unveils the truth of God’s Word to my spirit, enlightening the eyes of my understanding to know the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.

I am what the Word says I am, and I have what He says I have, because the Word is Truth. I am strengthened, fortified, and energized for victory through the power of God’s Word, and the might of the Spirit. I maintain my victory and dominion over Satan and the forces of darkness today, and with my divine armoury, I extinguish all the fiery darts of the wicked, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

God Bless you

Moment teenager was bitten by rattlesnake outside California home

A teenager is recovering after a snake bit him on the foot as he stepped out his front door in California.

Bryce Russell, 19, was attacked by the venomous snake after he stepped out onto his front porch barefoot while looking for his car keys on August 18.

His sister killed the poisonous snake after it bit him and the teenager was rushed to the hospital. He received 24 vials of anti-venom over two days in the hospital. He is now recovering at home.

The 19-year-old has spoken about his encounter with a rattlesnake that bit him outside his home in Norco, California.

He told CBS Los Angeles: "I was going to go dirt bike riding with one of my friends so I was looking for car keys and that's when it gets me. I was texting him and that's when it bit me."

Surveillance footage from the family's home shows Russell ljumping up after the snake, which was coiled up underneath a chair on the porch, bit his foot.

Speaking to KABC, Russell said: "It didn't really hurt to get bit, just a prick, but I definitely felt a sense of dread because you could see the venom start to inflame my foot and work its way up."

Russell's mother and sister are nurses and were able to provide first aid until paramedics arrived at the scene. His mother sprayed the snake with a hose to get it away from the front door so she could go back inside. His 24-year-old sister then picked up a shovel and beheaded it.

Russell said he plans to take the snake's body to a taxidermist and make a belt out of it.

The teenager spent two days recovering at the Corona Regional Medical Center after receiving 24 vials of anti-venom. "My face, tongue and lips were kind of tingling, I guess that's an effect of the venom," he said.

"[My foot was] bleeding a decent amount for how small the hole was. I guess the venom kind of messes up your clotting," he added to CBS.

The family said it is not unusual to see rattlesnakes in the area, but this was the first time that one has come so close to the home.

Quote: Multimillion Dollars Fraud: 80 Nigerians trends On Twitter

DEFENDANTS IN U.S. AND NIGERIA, INCLUDING 11 IN L.A. COUNTY, CHARGED IN CYBERFRAUD CONSPIRACY TO STEAL MILLIONS

"Those money exchangers, in turn, used a Nigerian banking application to transfer other funds in naira (₦), from Nigerian bank accounts they controlled to the Nigerian bank accounts specified by Iro and Igbokwe," the statement said.

The co-conspirators allegedly contacted Valentine Iro, 31, of Carson, and Chukwudi Christogunus Igbokwe, 38, of Gardena, both Nigerian citizens, for bank and money-service accounts that could receive funds fraudulently obtained from victims.

The criminal complaint says Iro and Igbokwe, who were among the suspects arrested Thursday, conducted schemes that resulted in the transfer of at least $6 million in fraudulently obtained funds.

"The overall conspiracy was responsible for the attempted theft of at least $40 million," the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement.

We won't rest until we deliver on our commitments on quality education to Nigerians' - President Buhari

President Buhari has assured Nigerians that his administration will not rest until it delivers on its commitments on quality education, including investing more resources in the sector and providing a conducive learning environment in the academia.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Post Graduate Centre of Excellence built by the Central Bank of Nigeria at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, the President said the Federal government have invested close to N1.3 trillion towards the development of the education sector in the past 4 years, excluding funds spent on overhead and personnel costs.

Commending the CBN for providing the Centre sited at the Samaru campus of the institution, the President said:

Quote:‘‘By this exercise, we are building on the vision of the founder of this great institution, Late and great Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, who, as Premier of Northern Nigeria, established this institution almost six decades ago.
‘‘It is on record that this University has made giant contributions towards the development of our nation and we remain grateful to the Founder of this vision.’’
Expressing concern over the state of facilities in Nigerian universities, due to long years of perennial funding challenges, the President promised that his administration will continue to place premium on education at all levels.
Quote:‘‘It is no longer a secret that the state of facilities in our universities and other institutions of higher learning has not kept pace with the requirements of the ever-growing population of students and other stakeholders or with modern methods of learning.
‘‘This has largely been due to the perennial funding challenge over the years. As an administration, we are committed and determined to continue to fund our vital institutions, even in the face of limited financial resources.
‘‘Let me reiterate here that this administration places much premium on education at all levels, as it is the bedrock of society’s progress, and the way to overcome poverty,’’ he said.
The President expressed confidence that efforts at improving access to quality education in tertiary institutions will enable young Nigerians to make meaningful contributions towards the nation’s development.
Quote:‘‘The wealth of nations today is being shaped by investment in education rather than emphasis on mineral resources.
‘‘Investment in education is a critical factor in driving innovation, technological advancements and employment opportunities in advanced economies,’’ he said.

The Pool Party That Got Many People Wasted(WET WILD 'N' WASTED BY DJ VAL)

The Pool Party That Got Many People Wasted(WET WILD 'N' WASTED BY DJ VAL)

This party was expected to provide fun, it lived up to that expectation, but it overstepped its boundaries. It exceeded partying, that mere constellation of noise, band and jams. What DJ Val and his cohorts brought to Awka became a legendary commemoration: an intensive festival of good music, laughter and enjoyment.
The enjoyment was marked with love and perhaps it began with Oxlade’s spirited display. The entertaining artiste, in the middle of his performance, ordered Fireboy to the stage as they hugged the crowd into a frantic shouting. That was love, a joyous affection that quickly spread to the audience as the two gifted musicians performed a song titled Sing together.
This happy atmosphere was marked with a dramatic sequence that occurred while Oxlade sang his acclaimed track Sugar. Obviously elated, her face flushed with irrepressible admiration, a lady waltzed unto the stage, throwing her buttocks to Oxlade’s groin, rocking the young musician to stupor.
For a night repeatedly confirmed to have achieved more than it set out to, one of the characteristics that made it do so was consistency. This quality ensured that even as a motivated performer takes his leave, an equally excited one takes over, keeping the audience on their toes, giving them excess enjoyment.
That was exactly what DNA twins offered with their appearance: energy. DNA twins aroused the party. They made sure no one pressed their phones because by aspiring all available waist to a vigorous exercise, men and women were kept busy shouting, dancing, laughing. The Twins walked around the pool as they performed, dramatizing their show, bringing it to epic zenith when they plunged into the pool, drawing so many of the audience into same act and at the moment, everyone became a performer.
And then Fireboy took the stage, singing, but more like asking: “what if I say, make you come chill with me in my place.” But the audience took over from him, they sang along, melodiously, their voice rising to high heaven with a spirit of community, making the gathering seem like one big ritual. Yet the sharp guys around, wise and fast to understand the agency of the hit track’s lyric, employed the lines, in cunning disguise, to woo whatever women around them. Again, ‘what if I say, make you come chill with me in my place, when you go fit come, maybe this Friday’. We can agree without further ado, that any lady in that party, enmeshed in the moment’s numbing grasp, will definitely say yes. Fireboy set such atmosphere, DJ Val by his beautiful convention, made it possible.
But he was not done, Fireboy, that emancipating singer who frees you from the hold of life worries and struggles. By the time he opened his mouth to sing and perform Jealous, it was so good the crowd demand he sing it again; so wonderful that the audience becoming backup singers, terrorized the city of Awka that night, keeping innocent men and women awake, making everyone within earshot compelled party attenders.
Yet the power of such nights cannot possibly reside on few men, but through the collective offerings of diverse talents: Rhatti, NunoZigi, Will and YGB. Entertaining in their own capacities, through their diverse music genres, one wonders if there was a careful selection of artistes present that night, meticulously picked to ensure the frequency of liveliness that occupied the party.
The numerous DJ’s took the partiers on a time travel, riding them from time immemorial to present, changing songs in crazily creative manners, alternating songs of different altitudes, making even the worst of all dancers to go into a lizard-like nodding spree. DJ Donzilly, DJ Share, DJ Feelingx, DJ Breezy, DJ Murphy did their thing, digging hands on their turntables and laptops, feeding the crowded partiers that one thing that satisfies the soul: music.
But the buck stops at the table of DJ Val. He put on an electric performance, conducting the crowd to frenzy, killing the right song at the right time, putting another at the order of his fast fingers skillfully commanding his disc jockeying tools. At a point, spurred by the rapturous atmosphere, he threw money into the crowd and the party entered its fourth gear of cacophonous madness.
Yet despite the magical show he put up, it may pale in comparison to the true element that distinguished DJ Val about the night: his incredible ability to convene such unforgettable party. Event packaged by OscarWhylle entertainment, presented by Black Sheep Entertainment; named Wet, Wild and Wasted: everything about its presentation and naming best describes it. Held by the pool, it was wet; defined by its crazy moments, it was wild; and although the attenders didn’t waste their time coming to such occasion, they were wasted by time the party was over.

Ekweremadu Attack: Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues travel advisory to dignitaries

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised officials and dignitaries wishing to travel abroad to notify it of their itinerary to enable the Ministry to thoroughly scrutinise the security status of the organisations inviting them.

According to the ministry, this would also enable it to take concrete steps to ensure that host’s law enforcement agencies were on hand to guarantee their security.

This was contained in a statement by the MFA spokesman,  Ferdinand Nwoye, in Abuja saying the advisory was a followup to the attack on the former Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu by the Indigenous People of Biafra in Nuremberg, Germany, last Saturday.

Quote:It said, “The ministry wishes to empathize with the distinguished Senator as well as remind all dignitaries to endeavor to bring to the notice of the Ministry and Missions their impending travel schedules to enable the Ministry thoroughly scrutinize the security status of the organisations inviting them for the meeting, and to make adequate preparation, as well as concrete steps to ensure that host law enforcement agencies are on hand to guarantee their comprehensive security. This advice is not to monitor their activities but to ensure their safety.”

COZA Vs Busola Dakolo: Biodun Fatoyinbo Shunned Our Investigative Panel - PFN
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 08-22-2019, 05:46 PM - Replies (1)

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, on Thursday, released its report on the investigation into the rape scandal surrounding the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo.

CAN had given the PFN two weeks to submit report of its probe into the rape allegation against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Speaking to newsmen on Thursday, PFN’s National Publicity Secretary, Bishop Emma Isong disclosed that Fatoyinbo ignored the panel that was set up to investigate the accusations against him.

PFN, while declaring the investigation ‘inconclusive’, stated however that Busola and her husband, Timi Dakolo appeared before the panel.

Recall that Busola, wife of Timi Dakolo had in weeks past disclosed details of how Fatoyinbo allegedly raped her when she was a teenager.

Fatoyinbo, however, denied the allegation, saying he has never forced himself on any woman in his life.

Alleged Tax Default: FIRS’ Action Embarrassing – Assemblies Of God Church
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 08-22-2019, 05:42 PM - No Replies

The Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, has described as embarrassing the listing of the Church by the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, as one of the tax defaulting companies.

It was gathered that the Government revenue agency had listed the church alongside 19,901 other accounts that were yet to regularise their tax status.

A statement it posted to that effect had read: “This is to notify all Companies, which had their Bank Accounts placed under Lien by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) pursuant to Section 31 of the FIRS Act, but are yet to regularise their tax status with the FIRS, that if they fail, refuse or neglect to pay the tax due within 30 days of this Notice, the FIRS shall in accordance with Section 49 (2) (a- d) of the FIRS Act proceed and enforce the payment of the said tax against all the Directors, Managers, Secretaries and every other person concerned in the management of the Companies and recover the said tax from such persons without further notice.”

Reacting on Thursday through a statement in Enugu by its General Secretary Rev Dr Godwin Amaowoh, Assemblies of God Church said its listing among the category of tax defaulters was a height of official recklessness.

While describing the development as an act fueled by ignorance, the Church demanded the immediate retraction of the said publication.

“We received with bewilderment and embarrassment publications classifying the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria among tax defaulting companies.

“It came to us with huge surprise considering that at no time had religious organizations been taxable in Nigeria, and how the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, now became an exception beats our imagination.

“It is either the person who did this categorization and fueled the publications in some online media outfits did so out of ignorance or it was an act of mischief. We say ignorance in the sense that the person who listed the Assemblies of God into list of defaulters may need to be taught that Churches are not taxable, or mischief as the person may have chosen to deliberately embarrass the Church.

“Either way, we demand that for whatever intent and purpose, the said misleading and embarrassing publication should be retracted by the FIRS.

“The Assemblies of God is a law-abiding Church and would not allow its name to be dragged into an act of lawlessness and disobedience to the extant laws of the land.

“For the avoidance of doubts, The Assemblies of God Nigeria as Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission is a non-profit making Organization and the Law respects That”

“While we await the FIRS to do the needful in this regard, we urge all our members to remain calm as there is no cause for alarm,” he said.

‘Government Of Fulani’ - Femi Fani-Kayode Reacts To Buhari’s Ministers
User Avatar Forum: News

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has in less than 24 hours, reacted twice to the inauguration of president Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV had reported that Buhari on Wednesday formally assigned portfolios to all 43 ministers-designates, 84 days after his inauguration for a second term.

He had last month, sent the list of ministers to the Nigerian Senate for screening and confirmation, in an exercise that lasted just five days.

Reacting, the former minister and chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wrote;

“Don't complain that @MBuhari gave the largest number of Ministries and the biggest and most strategic Ministerial portfolios to the NW. What do u expect? His is a Govt of the Fulani, by the Fulani and for the Fulani.Under him non-Fulanis are regarded as nothing more than slaves.

His previous comment which came about 12 hours earlier, read;

“I will judge each of @MBuhari's Ministers based on their performance and not based on my disdain and contempt for his administration. Any Minister, whether friend or foe, that performs well will receive my commendation/support and any that does not will get hell from my pen.”

Sadiya, The Missing Girl In Jos, Found With A Man In Abuja (Photos)

Posted by: Edoman - 08-22-2019, 12:47 PM - No Replies

It was reported earlier that a girl, sadiya from jos went missing after a facebook friend visited her. Well, According to a post by the cousin of the missing girl on Facebook, she made it known that this man(pictures below) took her cousin from jos to abuja(for reasons not yet known). And according to her, many other girls were also found in captivity of the man.

This is the English translation of what she wrote in Hausa:

"The identity of the man who took my cousin sister out has been revealed. And she is not the only one at the house he took her to in Abuja. there many other girls there too. May God continue to unveil their evil plans. Thank you all for the prayers. More details coming By God's grace"..

But it wasn't made clear if she was forcefully taken or voluntarily went for what a Nigerian would say, "chilling and flexing".
