Tension As Suspected Herdsmen Kill Woman In Enugu (Photos) By Wisdom Nwedene Suspected Fulani Herdsmen have killed another middle aged woman in Nchatancha, Enugu State, Igbere TV reports. As at the time of filing this report, angry youths have blocked the whole Major Roads, protesting the killing of the innocent woman. Igbere TV recalls that last three weeks, suspected Fulani Herdsmen killed, Rev FR Paul Offu in Enugu State. . He was reportedly shot by the suspected Fulani herdsmen on Thursday evening. Recall that last two week, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi sent anti-kidnapping bill to state assembly, to employ 1,700 forest guards The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Ortuanya, stated that the state government upon reviewing the security situation in the state, resolved to send an Anti-kidnapping Bill to the state assembly as an Executive Bill, to ensure maximum security. Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration further resolved to employ 1,700 Forest Guards within 30 days, comprising 100 persons per Local Government Area, in compliance with the recent decision of the South East Governors Forum on Community Policing. LIB reported earlier that the widow was murdered by suspected herdsmen after harvesting cassava from her farm on Wednesday August 21. Corpse of the deceased was found in a bush near a stream, after the villagers organized a search party to look for her. Upon visiting the farm on Wednesday, the search party only found the wheelbarrow Regina took to the farm. The community however received information that the mutilated corpse of a woman was dumped by the Asaba River on Thursday. Quote:One of the community leaders, Ejike Nnaji told newsmen “When the youth rushed to the place, they discovered that the corpse was that of the missing woman. Security operatives were deployed to the area after the incident led to a protest and destruction of properties. Giving an update on investigation into the murder incident, Enugu State's Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu appealed to aggrieved residents to be calm.
