Ciroma said the drop in supply and availability of fuel in the state is a confirmation “that 70 percent of the products lifted by some marketers were smuggled out of the country.

“I want the people of Adamawa to be rest assured that there will be no scarcity. We have substantial quantity at the Yola depot and all filling stations are selling except those in prohibited zones.”

The federal government had closed the land borders in August to check smuggling.

In November, the government also directed that petroleum products should not be supplied to fuel stations within 20km of the borders.

Maikanti Baru, a former group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), had raised the alarm about the increasing number of filling stations in border towns, saying they were funnels for fuel smuggling to neighbouring countries.

Quote:Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, has described as embarrassing, the delay by the China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation (CCECC) in completing the 10 railway stations along Lagos-Ibadan standard guage rail line.

Amaechi said this on Friday during an inspection of the rail project.

According to him, CCECC, the contractor handling the 156km rail line, reduced the pace of work between November and December.

He said the government needed to meet with the construction company to sort out the issue.

“The delay is becoming an embarrassment and I think we need to meet with the CCECC. We cannot continue like this. The speed has reduced drastically this time, we need to meet with the management of CCECC. We have a problem with CCECC honestly,” Amaechi said.

He also expressed displeasure over the work pace at Agbado, Kajola, Papalanto and Abeokuta railways stations.

He said the contractor had promised to finish the stations within three months.

The minister insisted that the stations should be completed by the end of January 2020, and not by April when the project is expected to be inaugurated.

The minister said three years after the inauguration of the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge rail line, the contractor was still at the site working on power.

The federal government had commenced a free train ride from Lagos to Ibadan in November. The free ride, which is part of the testing phase of the project, will last till March 2020.

Smart Adeyemi gets Dino Melaye’s Senate appointment



The Senate has appointed Sen. Smart Adeyemi (APC-Kogi West) as Chairman Senate Committee on Aviation.

Similarly, Sen. Ibrahim Danbaba (PDP-Sokoto South) was appointed Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Police Affairs.
Adeyemi replaced Sen. Dino Melaye, who was head of the committee before the court upturned his election.

Melaye was defeated at the November 16 Kogi rerun election.

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, made the announcement on Friday as the chamber adjourned sitting to Jan. 28, 2020 for the Christmas and New Year break.

The motion moved by the Senate Leader Yahaya Abdullahi during Friday’s plenary was seconded by Deputy Minority Leader, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha.

In his remark, Ahmad Lawan, thanked the Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Ayewoh and his team for the unflinching support.
“I want to thank the media generally for the wonderful job they have been doing and Nigerians for showing understanding.This legislature is yours.

A 25-year-old man identified as Daniel, was allegedly killed by men of the Oodua Peoples Congress OPC guarding his neighborhood at Cele street at Volks bus stop along the Badagry expressway on Wednesday December 18th.

 

According to a friend of the deceased who reached out to LIB, trouble started for late Daniel on Monday December 16th when he returned home from an outing in the night and had a faceoff with an OPC member. Both men exchanged words and afterwards Daniel retired to his hoouse.

 



 

On Wednesday night, December 18th while he was at home in company of his friends, Daniel received a phone call from his girlfriend and stepped out of his apartment to receive the call. While he was outside, he saw the head of the OPC security officers and decided to narrate what transpired the other day between him and one of his officers.

 

According to the friend, as Daniel was narrating what happened, the suspect stepped forward with a gun and threatened to shoot him dead, accusing him of making false claims to his boss. Daniel got angry and told the suspect he couldn't shoot him in a place where others are. Within a split second, the OPC officer pulled the trigger and fired a shot at Daniel on the chest. He died instantly.

 

The suspect fled the scene of the incident and has been on the run since then. The matter was reported to the Ojo state police command and the head of the security agent was arrested but has reportedly been released on bail.

Nigerian woman jailed over £114K benefits fraud in UK






A Nigerian woman who fraudulently obtained over £114,000 from a local council in the UK, has been handed a two-year jail sentence. 
 
The 49-year-old mother of three identified as Olusola Owoeye, rented out an apartment she bought with fraudulent mortgage while claiming she was homeless, to get a flat given out by a local council. She was nabbed after one of her tenants she charged as much as £820 a month made a complaint at the council. 
 

 
The Nigerian woman arrived the UK in 2002 and reportedly bought her house with a fraudulent mortgage application. She was able to buy a house in Erith, south-east London for £156,000 in June 2008 while claiming she was working in the software industry and earning £41,000 a year.
 
The prosecutors told the court that Owoeye moved out of the house she bought four years later, lived with a friend for some time before approaching the Bexley Council in 2013 for support, claiming to be homeless. 
 

 
Owoeye who obtained over £114,000 in five years with a status which does not allow an immigrant to access the mainstream benefits system, homelessness assistance from a local authority or social housing, is thought to be the first person in London to be convicted of fraud after receiving payments while under ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF) immigration status.
 
Justice Jonathan Mann who presided over the case, found her guilty of three charges of fraud following a four-day trial at Woolwich Crown Court last month. She was subsequently handed a two-year jail sentence.

The one who’s born again doesn’t have two lives or natures; he only has one, and that’s the divine life. When you were born again, a new life was introduced into your spirit, and the human life with which you were born of your earthly parents ceased to be; it was supplanted by the life and nature of God! It’s not something that can be figured out in the laboratory; it’s spiritual.

Moreover, this change isn’t one to take place in heaven, as some also think; it’s already happened.

That’s the message of Christ. He came to give us the divine life; to make us sons of God: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). Our theme verse further buttresses this; it says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Notice the phrase, “new creature”; it connotes something that’s not known; it’s new, or even “strange.” It’s like thinking you saw something sneak by, but couldn’t really make out what it was, and the best way you could describe it was to say, “I saw a creature; it’s neither a cat nor a dog; but I’m not sure what it is; it’s something strange.” It wasn’t like anything you’ve ever seen.

This is exactly Paul’s inference in 2 Corinthians 5:17. We’re a new species; a kind of creature that never existed before; a new type of man! When you come to this realization and understanding that what you have isn’t a mix of the divine and human natures, you’ll cease from the struggles to live right, and you’ll find yourself fulfilling God’s will for your life gloriously from a position of rest. Hallelujah!

Student, 17, is jailed for 16 years for encouraging her boyfriend to 'prove his love' by killing his ex-girlfriend






A student was jailed on Friday, December 20, for urging her boyfriend to prove his love for her by killing his ex-girlfriend during a macabre plot 'to prove himself'  
 
Sarah Mohamed, 17, loitered outside the victim's home in Openshaw, Manchester for two hours while she waited for her boyfriend, Rhett Carty-Shaw, also 17, to kill the mother of his child.
 

 
As she waited outside, she sent more than 50 text messages to encourage him to carry out the brutal attack in May earlier this year.
 
One of the messages she sent to her boyfriend while he was inside with the mother of his child reads: "Why you taking so long? Hurry up and do it."
 
The pair were both jailed for 16 years on December 20, 2019.
 
Mohamed had first plotted the murder after she discovered that her boyfriend was continuing his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, 17-year-old Imam Nasir.
 
Manchester Crown Court heard during the trial that she was angered and "felt humiliated". She proceeded to end her relationship with him and said that he had "let her down" and that she "cannot trust him". 
 
But Carty-Shaw was upset about the relationship coming to an end and arranged to meet with Mohamed at lunchtime the day before the attack in an attempt to talk her round.
 
Just hours after the meeting, Carty-Shaw made Google searches on asphyxiation and "how long do people get sentenced for murder". 
 

 
The court heard that the boy turned up at the victim's home the following day with a change of clothes along with a large kitchen knife in his bag.
 
Ms Nasir described how Carty-Shaw had told her that he had to kill her. She said he also asked her whether she would kill herself for him, whether he could kill her and how he should kill her.  He told her that he was being pressured to kill her and that people would harm his family if he did not go through with it. 
 
Miss Nasir recalled how at one stage he had asked her to give the appearance of strangulation so that he could take a photograph and send it as fake evidence of her death.
 
She applied make-up to her neck to fake strangulation and closed her eyes so that he could take a photo but when she opened her eyes she saw him holding a knife. 
 

 
Miss Nasir tried to call 999 as well as one of her friend's but he prevented her from doing so. She instructed him to leave and tried to push him down the stairs and out of the house into the garden which is when Carty-Shaw became extremely violent.
 
He inflicted numerous blows that left her with wounds to her face, neck and armpit plus three to her back and shewas lucky to escape with her life.
 
Carty-Shaw left the scene shortly after and made his way to his girlfriend Mohamed who was waiting outside. The pair talked and embraced after returning to Mohamed's home before he left and she returned inside the property. 
 
Carty-Shaw was arrested a short time later while standing at a bus stop close to his co-defendant's address.
 

 
It became apparent that he had changed his clothes and trainers and was in possession of two plastic bags which contained an open packet of Dettol wipes, some of which had already been used.
 
It is thought that they had been purchased in order to clean the large kitchen knife, a green sports bag and his blood stained clothing and trainers. 
 
His accomplice, Mohamed, was arrested soon after and her phone was seized. 
 
Phone analysis showed that she was constantly pressuring the boy, repeatedly texting him instructing him to video what he was doing and send the footage to her video so that she knew that it had been done. 
 
She wrote: "Vid it then delete it when I see it please... Did you get rid of the phone?"
 
Police also found a message telling Carty-Shaw not to do anything stupid and leave his DNA behind or he would be going to prison. 
 
In one exchange Carty-Shaw wrote "I did it to prove I love you - there was no other way to keep you" 
 
And Miss Mohamed replied: "I know there wasn't -I'm gonna protect you at all costs."
 
Miss Nasir, who is said to have been lucky not to have been killed in the attack, was taken to hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. 
 
Mohamed has now been jailed for intentionally encouraging or assisting a person to commit murder. 
 
She denied wrongdoing claiming she thought Carty-Shaw was simply going to end his relationship with the victim and she wanted him to record the break up on his phone as proof. 
 
Carty-Shaw was originally charged with rape but was found not guilty. But he admitted causing GBH but was convicted of the more serious charge of attempted murder.
 
Both were sentenced onFriday, December 20, 2019, to 16 years behind bars. 
 
A judge ordered they be named due to the "strong public interest" in the case.

“On 17 November my estranged husband Manfield Nhemachena came to my house to drop off the child.

We are on separation pending divorce and according to a court order he is supposed to leave the child by the gate, but on this particular day when I sent my child-minder to collect him (her son), he refused to give her saying he wanted me to come there personally.

“As I was about to go, I was shocked when I saw him already inside the house with the child. He went straight to disconnect the Television set saying he has a right over it since our divorce has not yet been finalised.

“From the lounge he stormed into my bedroom and took my laptop which he bought for me when we were still staying together. When I tried to stop him, he violently pushed me against the wall. He grabbed me by the throat and strangled me,” recounted Tariro.

In self-defence, Tariro revealed that she also aggressively grabbed him by his shirt, causing the buttons to fall off.

“I started screaming and he rushed out of the house with the laptop and I followed him as I wanted the laptop which has personal information. Outside the house, he grabbed me by the neck and tackled me. I fell headlong to the ground and neighbours later came to my rescue after I screamed. For a moment, I blacked out and when I woke up, that is when I discovered that I had sustained injuries all over my body,” further narrated Tariro.

A scorned Manfield, however, hit back accusing his estranged wife’s mother of being a sex pest.
“She is always after fixing me by fabricating stories. She once claimed that I wanted to stab our child with a kitchen knife. As if that is not enough, she also reported me to Justice for Children claiming I had kidnapped the child.

“For the past four years she would not allow me to see the child. She and her mother were controlling me to the extent that her mother once entered my bedroom and wanted to be intimate with me. The whole family is aware of the incident and it is the one that also led me to walk out of the marriage,” claimed a livid Manfield.

With regards to the TV set, he said: “I asked her to give me one since she had two sets so that when the child comes to where I am now staying, he could also have access to TV. She refused and I forcibly took it. Turning to the issue of laptop, she lied to me that it was stolen. When I wanted to collect it that is when she screamed”.
Taririo however, refuted Manfield’s submissions before labelling him a “serial liar”.

“He is a liar. He abused me for years. He once assaulted me and I was admitted in hospital for two-and-a-half weeks. He is such an embarrassment, on the divorce summons he even demands that the table flowers and teaspoons should be shared equally,” retaliated Tariro.

In her ruling the presiding magistrate Adelaide Mbeure granted a reciprocal order which compels both parties to stay away from each other’s premises.

She also stopped unreasonable disposal of matrimonial property before the parties’ divorce is finalised.

The magistrate further ordered Manfield not to physically abuse or threaten his estranged wife.

Oduola Gbenga, a 37- year-old commercial motorcyclist, who raped a woman and killed her 5- year -old boy on Friday explained how he committed the heinous act. .

The following day, the suspect took the victim’s son to another room where he beheaded him with a cutlass. He claimed to have dumped the remaining body part which was later recovered at the backyard of his house.” .

While speaking with Vanguard, the suspect said, he could not say specifically what prompted him to commit the inhuman act. .

Contrary to the report that he kidnapped them, he claimed that the mother of the deceased was his mistress and that they both had a mutual agreement before taking her and the boy home. .

When asked if the boy was disturbing them from their illicit affairs, he said no. He said: “No, he didn’t disturb us. In fact, we had met privately before I went to the other room to kill the boy and took his remaining body part to the backyard. I don’t know what came over me.”

Tupac's former bodyguard 'who helped rapper fake his death' claims he has proof the rapper never died






Tupac's former bodyguard claims he has proof the rapper faked his death.
 
Michael Nice was reported to have died last year, but he has revealed he faked his own death in a video to prove it can be done.  He says he has proof Tupac is still alive too.
 
Michael, who was Tupac's former bodyguard, made headlines when he claimed Tupac had been smuggled into Cuba with the help of former President Fidel Castro after the drive by shooting that police said claimed his life. He promised to release evidence. 
 
However, in December last year, it was reported that Michael Nice had died just days before he was due to release evidence that proved Tupac is still alive. Now, Michael has revealed that he faked his own death.
 
In a video posted to YouTube, he says that he did what he did to evade his enemies.
 

 
He says: "My name's Michael Nice. I faked my death on the 18th of December, 2018 and I'm here today, back from the dead to show why and how I faked my death. I'm going to put the record straight."
 
Speaking from an unknown location, he continues: "I know it's a shock to all the people who know me but I'm back, I'm back to explain everything. I confess I faked my death and I feel quite ashamed about it but it had to be done and I'm here now to explain the reasons why."
 
Michael says the fact that he faked his own death proves that he also helped Tupac fake his death because he's got the "experience" required to pull it off.
 
He says: "I've done it again with myself. It proves that I've got those capabilities."
 
Michael also says he had been receiving threats and that if he hadn't faked his death when he did he would have been dead by now anyway.
 
Michael says he arranged for an ambulance to collect him after he faked his death and that he'd used a magic trick he learned as a youngster to stop his pulse so that when a paramedic checked him they believed he was dead.
 
He says his "body" was taken to the hospital and that his contacts in the funeral home business arranged to pick him up and switch him out for an actual dead body which was taken to the morgue.
 
He says he then made his escape and that he couldn't believe how smoothly it all went.
 
Michael goes on: "I laid low for a year and I'm back now to tell my story, put things straight and get on with the mission.
 
"There's only one thing I can guarantee out of all of this, it doesn't matter whether you believe it or not, retribution is coming."

Yahoo boy arrested for impersonating CBN governor (photos)






An internet fraudster, Onyebuchi Nwalozie Julius, is currently cooling off in one of the detention facilities of the EFCC, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for impersonating the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Emefiele.
 
Onyebuchi, a native of Ngor-Okpala, Imo State, who said he is into Estate Management, allegedly confessed via verbal and written statements that he posed as the CBN Governor, Dr. Godwin Emefiele with email account: emefilegodwin586@yahoo.com to defraud his victims.
 
A statement released by the antigraft agency says Onyebuchi confessed to have defrauded one Mr. Omar Es Sh Deeb, an Arab National, who he said made payments to him through Western Union. He also allegedly confessed that he specialized in Business Email Compromise, BEC, and his modus operandi involves searching for email addresses via Google search and sending convincing emails to his prospective victims and defrauding them as soon as they fall prey to whatever scam he had planned out.
 
According to EFCC, though Onyebuchi allegedly confessed to have benefited as much as N4.5million from his criminality on the cyber space, the evidence gathered so far, may prove otherwise as investigation is still ongoing and responses are still being awaited from some of the finance houses he transacted with.

Woman who allegedly lured homeless girls from churches into prostitution, arrested






A 32-year-old mother of two identified simply as Busola has been arrested by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP),  for allegedly luring homeless girls from churches into prostitution. 
 
The suspect who goes to churches with claims of providing accommodation for the homeless, convinces the churches to allow the girls stay with her before allegedly initiating them into prostitution.
 
Busola was accused of sending out the girls to different brothels in Lagos and also collecting the money they made from sleeping with men. The suspect was busted after a NAPTIP decoy team was deployed to Oshodi area of Lagos state after receiving information about her activities. 
 
NAPTIP's state Zonal Head, Mr. Daniel Atokolo who confirmed the arrest said; 
 

Quote:“She lied to the girls that she was keeping the money for them. After we were done with our underground investigation, we arrested her. She was arrested in her house and there were four girls in her apartment.
“The suspect goes to churches to tell pastors that she wanted to help some of the girls having accommodation problems. It is because these pastors believed in her and were deceived by the way she presented herself that they attended to her.
“Some of these pastors had no reason to doubt her. Unknown to them, she was using the girls for prostitution. One of the girls rescued in her apartment is an underage. What the suspect is doing is modern slavery. Aside from the four girls we found in her apartment, she still has others working for her. There was even a time the suspect forced one of the girls to have sex with her boyfriend.”

He said he wanted to make love to me, I told him it wouldn’t be possible because I was menstruating. Abigail was with me in the room when my boyfriend came. I told my boyfriend that I wouldn’t be able to do what he asked. He then said that if I couldn’t do it, I should allow my sister to do it. When I called Abigail for him, I didn’t know what he discussed with her. What I later saw with Abigail was money, which I believed was from my boyfriend. While their discussion was going on, I had earlier left the room for them. It is also true that I’m a prostitute. I went into it in order to take care of my two children after their father abandoned us. I have tried several businesses, but none worked.”

She also told the Court that her husband, Mr. Stanley, was a chronic womanizer. She narrated that apart from numerous cases of her husband chasing women around, her husband used to sneak into their house maid’s room at night to sleep with her.

“I have caught him severally on my maid’s bed sexually assaulting her. A neighbour once approached me and told me to warn my husband to desist from asking her daughter to have a love affair with him. I once caught him sucking the breasts of my niece, who is a minor and he is also fond of wooing my friends” she said.

An embittered Mrs. Anyasi also accused her husband, Stanley, of threatening her life. She also accused the him of always telling her that he will kill her and that he had once succeeded in poisoning her through food.

“He bought food for me and after eating the food, I started having serious pain and vomiting. I was rushed to the hospital by my neighbours and when I was diagnosed by the doctors, it was detected that the food I ate had been poisoned” she claimed.

The petitioner also said that her husband had equally turned her into a punching bag, beating her at the slightest provocation, and had been calling her a thief and a prostitute in public. She added that her husband is irresponsible and unable to provide food for the family or pay the children’s school fees. She therefore urged the Court to dissolve her marriage with Stanley.
The President of the Court, Mr. Adeniyi Koledoye, further adjourned the matter for continuation of hearing when Stanley was expected to open his defence.

9- year-old boy arrested for hacking into 75 phones and stealing $1M in cryptocurrency







A young boy has been arrested for stealing the identities of 75 people and swiping $1 million in cryptocurrency. 
 
19- year-old Yousef Selassie used a sophisticated SIM-swapping scheme to take over the phones of people in 20 different states between Jan. 20 and May 19, 2019, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

He allegedly transferred his victims’ phone numbers to his own iPhones, enabling him to reset their passwords and gain access to their Gmail, cryptocurrency and other accounts. 
 
The stolen $1 million came from just two victims, authorities said. Selassie was arrested in Corona, California, and extradited to New York.

He was arraigned this week in Manhattan Supreme Court, where he pleaded not guilty to 87 counts of grand larceny, identity theft, and other charges.
 
Justice Mark Dwyer ordered him to surrender his passport and check in weekly with a supervised release program. But the judge did not set bail.

Authorities executed search warrants on Selassie’s Brooklyn and California residences, where they seized half a dozen iPhones, two Rolex watches, a monogrammed Gucci wallet and numerous pieces of high-end jewelry, according to court papers.

South African court dismisses Henry Okah’s lawsuit challenging his conviction for terrorism






A lawsuit filed by the leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) Henry Okah, challenging his 2013 conviction and sentencing to 24 years in South African prison for the 2010 bombings in Abuja and Warri which left about three people dead, has been dismissed by a Pretoria High Court. 
 
Justice Moses Mavundla who presided over Okah's lawsuit which challenged his trial and conviction on 13 counts of terrorism-related activities, pointed out that the MEND leader has already appealed his conviction at the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court.
 
Mavundla disclosed that the general principle is that a convicted and sentenced person cannot appeal against his conviction more than once. He held that a decision contrary to that general principle will lead to a chaotic judicial situation.
 
The South African Judge who ordered Okah to pay the taxes and allowed costs for the first, second and third respondents, (The State, The Director of Public Prosecutions and the Minister of Police), insisted that the MEND leader pleaded not guilty and exercised his rights to silence. Mavunlda said it is deemed that the court has jurisdiction in the absence of lack of jurisdiction plea. 
 
Speaking to Channels Television after his lawsuit was dismissed by the South African court, Okah stated that he is still fighting on. 

Emir Sanusi given two days to accept or reject appointment as head of Kano chiefs’






Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has been given two days to accept or reject his appointment as head of Kano state’s council of chiefs by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. 
 
In a letter dated December 19 and signed by Musa Bichi, the Permanent Secretary of the Special Duties Ministry on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, the Kano Monarch was also directed to summon the inaugural meeting of the council in accordance with the provisions of the law.
 
The letter made available to TheCable reads;

The Federal Government has mapped out N10 billion as Trader Moni loan to petty traders and artisans in the 2020 fiscal year, IgbereTV reports.

The loan is part of the social intervention programmes under President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

According to IgbereTV reports, N10 billion was allocated to BOI as ‘Grants to BOI to support low interest loan to SMEs’. This was contained in the 2020 Appropriation Bill signed into law on Monday by the President.

The Federal Government, through the Bank of Industry (BOI) provides interest free and collateral free loan to petty traders and artisans, under the Trader Moni micro credit scheme. The loan ranges from N10, 000 to N100,000 per beneficiary.

According to the Trader Moni guidelines, the first loan to an individual is N10,000. Upon payment of the first loan, the individual qualifies for a higher amount. The maximum amount allowed is N100,000.

Breaking: Court orders Mohammed Adoke to be remanded in EFCC custody for 14 days






A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in Maitama, Abuja has granted the request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to remand former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mohamed Adoke for 14 days pending investigation.    
 
Justice Othman Musa, who is the court’s sitting vacation judge granted an ex-parte motion moved this morning by EFCC’s lawyer, Fatima Mustapha to that effect.

The pair were seen at the back of the 135 bus having 'sex' as they travelled through Prestwich, Greater Manchester, on Tuesday afternoon (Dec.17)
 
Gas engineer, John Dolan who sat in his van waiting for his friend, noticed 'movement' in the bus which was heading in the direction of a local secondary school, before he quickly filmed the sex act and sent it to his wife.
 

 
The post has gone viral online and has attracted more than 460,000 views with social media users blasting the pair. 
 
John Paul Dolan, from Manchester, said: "It was mad - very strange. It's just wrong.
"It looked quite vigorous. They slowed down a bit when the bus stopped but were still at it, then carried on again as it pulled off.
"I can't imagine if an old lady got on the bus and saw them. She'd probably have a heart attack.
"I just hope they're a couple and not doing it on the sly because now they've gone viral."
 
As he sent the video to his wife, she also commented on how 'disgusting' the lovers were.
 
John said: "There's a sandwich shop round the corner and I was waiting in the van for my mates to come out.
 

 
"The bus pulled in at the bus stop and I looked up from my phone because I saw movement and thought 'what's going on there?'
"There was another woman crossing the road at the time with a smirk on her face. She must have seen it because she looked about embarrassed.
"It's funny the bus driver didn't spot them in his mirror or on CCTV.
"There's kids on that road. There's a high school about a minute down the road and it was heading in that direction.
"I sent the video my wife and she said 'that's disgusting'. Obviously I'm a lad and I find it funny."

Three people dead, one injured in truck accident on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway






The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Friday, December 20th said three persons died while one person sustained injuries in an accident involving a truck and a Bajaj motorcycle around Toll-Gate on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.  
 
Clement Oladele, Sector Commander of FRSC said the accident happened at about 12.59 p.m. on Thursday. Oladele explained that the truck with registration number, KRD 72 XY, had brake failure and rammed into the Bajaj motorcycle, marked AKM039 UP, conveying two female passengers who were just disembarking from the bike.  
 
The sector commander said that five persons, comprising 3 male adults and two female adults, were involved in the accident. According to him, a passerby died instantly while a female passenger later died after getting to the General Hospital, Ota.

Governor Matawalle revokes N79.6bn contract awarded to ex-Kebbi Governor Adamu Aliero and others






Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has revoked contracts worth N79.6 billion, awarded to different companies including Alliance Trading Company Limited which is owned by Adamu Aliero, a former governor of Kebbi state.
 
A N25 billion contract awarded to Alliance Trading Company Limited and contracts worth N27 billion awarded to China Zhonghao in 2013 and 2018 were revoked by the Zamfara State Governor during the state’s executive council meeting on Wednesday December 18. 
 
Zamfara State Commissioner of works,  Ibrahim Isa Mayana confirmed the development and also told newsmen that the contractors have been asked to return the funds or face prosecution.
 
He also disclosed that some of revoked contracts were not executed properly or abandoned after the contractors received huge sums. 
 
Mayana said; 
 

Quote:“China Zhonghao was also awarded another 84 boreholes rural water scheme phase two worth over N27.694 billion in 2018 and was paid N14.477 billion but has abandoned the contract just at 13 percent completion. 
“Alliance trading was awarded N25.992 billion contract for rural electrification across the 14 local government areas in 2013 and was paid N22.599 billion but the company abandoned the contract after reaching just 67 percent completion.”

Rivers APC crisis: Amaechi’s ally mocks Senator Abe, predicts his political future



A former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described Wednesday’s court ruling against Senator Magnus Abe as conscientious and thorough.

The court had on Wednesday dismissed the prayers of Abe, a former Rivers South-East Senator against the APC, and set aside the interim order which halted the ward, local government and state congresses of the Rivers APC earlier scheduled by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

Eze, who made his position known via a statement he signed and made available to DAILY POST, said the judgement has laid to rest all speculations and uncertainties about the future of the Rivers APC which has been engulfed in a raging internal crisis.

The court had, in a judgement struck out the prayers of the claimants and vacated the interlocutory injunction against the conduct of congresses, citing that the action was instituted by a wrong procedure of law and further averring that the judgement of a court cannot be interpreted by another court of coordinate jurisdiction.

The cost of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira only) was also awarded against the claimants – Ibrahim Umah & 22 Ors. in favour of the Defendant – the APC.


Eze noted that with the outcome of the ‘historical judgement’, Abe’s political woes had just increased, saying “after distancing himself from the political family that brought him to limelight, for reasons only known to him, he has been courting series of woes at every step of his unholy political manoeuvre.

“After losing his senatorial seat that would have made him the Deputy Senate President and his dream of becoming a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria nosediving, other unfortunate vicissitudes have occurred to him: his inability to continue to hold the APC structure in the state to hostage, refusal of Governor Wike to accommodate a reasonable number of his disgruntled group, as well as Wike’s refusal to anoint him for 2023 gubernatorial election. “However, as soon as Police arrived the house, armed men suspected to be IPOB members descended on the Police, set ablaze one Patrol vehicle and attacked them with rifles and machetes. As a result of the attack, two Police officers whose identities are being withheld were killed by the suspected IPOB members while others were inflicted with machete cuts. The injured personnels were rushed to the Hospital for medical attention and are presently receiving treatment.

Court remands Kelly Nworgu in prison till January 17th over alleged real estate fraud






A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has ordered that the Managing Director of the Livelihood Homes Limited known as De – Villa, Kelly Nworgu, a 42-year old indigene of Abia State, be remanded in Prison until January 17, 2020.  
 
Justice H. I .O Oshoma gave the order after the counsel to Kelly Nworgu told the court that he was yet to be served any of the court processes by the prosecution counsel.  
 
The trail judge, therefore, could not allow the charges to be read and also any plea to be taken, but ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody and adjourned till 17th of January 2020.  
 
Rivers State police command through the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, Chuks Enwonwu, had in a media briefing revealed that Nworgu would be arraigned on 494 count charges bordering on fraud before Federal High Court Sitting in Port Harcourt.  
 
Nworgu, under De-Villa, an estate company with the motto of “increasing landlords and reducing tenants” launched  a promo package of buying 2 plots of land and getting one free with a very affordable price of one million Naira (N1,000,000) for outright payment per plot, and one million three hundred thousand naira (N1,300.000) per plot for flexible payment within 12 months with an initial cash deposit of N300,000.  
 
He claimed the land was located within 5 minute-drive from Port Harcourt International Airport.  However, according to the subscribers, after collecting over N800m from them the suspect bolted away with their money.  Consequent upon to a petition to the police by the victims, CP Mustapha Dandaura ordered for the arrest of Kelly Nwogu.    
 
He was arrested and detained in October, but less than 72 hours he regained his freedom after meeting his bail conditions. However, according to the Rivers State Police Command, attempts to invite him for further negotiations and investigations were stalled temporarily because for about three weeks he refused to show up at Police headquarters.  
 
Therefore the police went after him again, and when the pressure became unbearable for him, he came out of hiding and submitted himself to the police. When the matter resumes at the Federal High Court in January, Nworgu is expected to take his plea on the charges before him by the police based on petition written and signed by over 400 individuals who claimed to have been defrauded by the suspect.  
 
There was mild drama at the premises the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt on Monday Dec. 16 when over 200 complainants in the case, after waiting for about four hours inside the court room for their matter to be called, but was informed that the Federal High Court 2 presided over by Hon. Justice Emmanuel. A. Obile would be unable to entertain the matter.  
 
The complainants who did not take the announcement lightly started raining abuses and curses on the suspect inside the court room as soon as Hon Justice Emmanuel. A. Obile left. They surged towards him in anger, but the security personnel quickly intervened and shielded him from the angry crow and whisked him to court 4 Presided over by Justice I.O Oshomah where the case was re-assigned.  
 
Taking over the matter, Justice Oshomah asked the police legal team led by Officer in Charge of Legal Department (OC) Legal in Rivers State, SP Gladys Enoho Imegu, to come back with the accused on Tuesday December 17 when he was eventually arraigned and ordered remanded in prison till January 17 2020.

The coming days promise to be interesting in the Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of next year’s governorship election in the state.

Both Oshiomhole and Obaseki have been at loggerheads over unresolved political differences.

There are also speculations that Obaseki may find his way to the PDP, the major opposition party in the state. However, he has repeatedly denied this, saying he had no plans to quit the APC.

“If a handful of individuals start misbehaving and feel we will leave the party for them, they will be the ones to leave,” Obaseki had said.

Also, Charles Idahosa, a former Commissioner for Information in the state, said the governor had no plans to dump the APC for another political platform in order to secure the ticket for his re-election.

He said despite the feud between Obaseki and Oshiomhole, the governor had done so much to deserve his second term and therefore could not be pushed aside by Oshiomhole and his foot soldiers in the APC.

“There is nothing like that. It is a black lie that the governor is leaving the party for another. Governor Obaseki is not leaving the APC for anybody. He is getting the party’s ticket and he must do his second term,” Idahosa declared.

However, leaders of the APC in Edo State, under the aegis of the Edo Peoples Movement (EPM), have said the governor does not deserve a second term, insisting they would shop for a better candidate that would fly the party’s flag in 2020.

Samson Osagie, a former minority whip of the House of Representatives, said: “Governor Obaseki is only dreaming to think that because he is the custodian of our collective patrimony he will intimidate us and hoodwink Edo people to shy away from giving him a run for our money he is amassing to run for second term.

“Let this serve as notice to him that some of us are going to present ourselves for next year’s gubernatorial elections and by the time the array of contestants are unveiled, Edo people will not choose deceit over sincerity, rhetoric over substance, and a government that has encouraged capital flight from the state over a government that will make sure the resources of the state circulates among its citizens.”

On the mode of the primary to be adopted, a credible source in the party said since there were two factions in the state, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party led by Oshiomhole would determine the mode of primary to be used in selecting the party’s candidate.

“The APC has three methods for the primary. They are direct, indirect, and consensus. The party usually gives the states to choose the method they want.

“But just as it happened in Kogi APC during the just concluded governorship election, the NWC may step in and adopt a method if the party is factionalised.

“In Edo today, the party is factionalised with two state chairmen. Col. David Imuse, who is from the Oshiomhole camp, is claiming to be the state chairman of the party while Anselm Ojezua, who is solidly behind Governor Obaseki, has also said he remains the authentic chairman.

“If this is not resolved, the NWC may wade in adopt the mode of primary for the election,” he said.

Speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday, Ize-Iyamu said he would do all he could to ensure that the misunderstanding in the party was resolved. He also said he had instructed his followers who defected with him from the PDP to register at their ward levels.

“We will continue to do all we can to ensure that the little misunderstanding is resolved. But we have told all our people to go and join the party at the ward level, just as I did. Luckily, in many of the wards, we don’t have any faction there.

“We will try and bring more people into the APC in the coming days. I believe the whole tension will soon come down and we will have a united party,” he said.

Also speaking on whether he would contest the governorship election on the APC platform, Ize-Iyamu said only God would determine that.
He said: “We leave that to God and for our people. Next year may appear near but it is still far. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see how it goes.”

However, Barrister Anselm Ojezua, Edo State chairman of the APC, said on Wednesday that the membership status of Ize-Iyamu was not clear as a lot of people believed that he defected to Edo People’s Mandate (EPM) and not the APC.
According to Ojezua, “What is more important and fundamental is that we have to, first of all, establish his (Ize- Iyamu) status. There are some people who believe that what he joined was EPM, not APC. Can he effectively join APC without the leadership of the party knowing about it? That is not possible.

14 civilians killed, 13 others missing as Boko Haram terrorists attack Chad






Boko Haram militants killed 14 Chadian civilians and wounded five others in an overnight attack on a fishermens’ camp in the northeastern part of Lake Chad.
 
According to reports, the latest attack struck a camp of fishermen near the village of Kaiga on Lake Chad, which has been plagued by the militants since 2009.
“The assailants arrived in the night and attacked the fishermen,” official Dimoya Souapebe said. Thirteen people are missing in addition to the 14 killed, he added.
 
In March, Boko Haram militants killed at least 23 Chadian soldiers in an overnight raid, one of the deadliest of such attacks inside Chad by the insurgents. Chadian soldiers are part of a U.S.-trained West African task force deployed to counter Boko Haram.
 
The violence over the past decade has killed more than 30,000 people and forced about 2 million to leave their homes.
Boko Haram has been fighting for a decade to carve out an Islamist caliphate in northeast Nigeria and has carried out regular raids over loosely guarded borders into neighbouring Chad, Niger and Cameroon.

The Apostle Paul understood this truth. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.” Refuse the worldly categorization of people according to their physical or earthly descent. The Gospel is for everybody. Go all out this season and reach out to everyone with the message of Christ’s salvation.

Kidnappers kill gang member for fleeing with N5m and buying a car






Operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT)  have arrested two suspected kidnappers,  28-year-old Best Kevwe Iweh and 30-year-old Emmanuel Tomson for reportedly killing their gang member Raymond Enahon.
 
The arrested suspects reportedly killed Enahon on August 19 for fleeing with a N5m ransom they got from a victim's family, buying a Lexus ‘Jeep’ and lavishing the rest on his numerous girlfriends. The deceased's remains was then buried in a shallow grave at Obiaruku village in Delta State. 
 
Upon being arrested, Iweh and Tomson led the IRT operatives to the grave where Enahon's remains was exhumed. 
 
A police source who confirmed the arrest said; 
 

Quote: “The downfall of the gang started after IRT operatives, on the instruction of the IG, went to Delta State on the trail of a notorious kidnapping gang, led by Best Kevwe Iweh. The gang, who is a native of Oria Abaraka in Delta State, was successfully arrested. He is a notorious kidnapper and had been terrorising Delta State. The second suspect, Emmanuel Tomson, was arrested on August 18.

“Both suspects have confessed to several kidnappings, including the kidnapping of a former finance officer in Delta State in August 2018. They also admitted to kidnapping and killing Raymond Enahon, their gang member. Raymond bought a Lexus RS 330 from N5 million ransom realised from one of their kidnappings.

“Raymond collected the ransom and fled. They confirmed that Raymond bought a Lexus from the money and spent the remaining part of the ransom with his girlfriends. According to the suspects, they lured Raymond somewhere and killed him. After killing Raymond, they sold the jeep for N1.8 million.”

Known for his run-stopping capabilities, Covington is a 3-4 defensive end, which means he generally lines up directly over the offensive tackle. He usually steps onto the field when the Texans are in nickel and he can line up further inside.For all of his contributions, Blackson goes relatively unnoticed on the defense, leaving the flashy plays and stats to players like Clowney, Reader, and Watt. With one sack and one tackle for loss on the year, keeping Blackson as a Texan may not be the most inspiring move the team makes this offseason. He isn't a stat sheet hero, but a valuable piece to the middle of the front-seven. Along with Blackson, Brandon Dunn can be lumped into the “under the radar” category of Texans. The Texans signed Dunn off of the Bears practice squad in 2015. He has been with the team for four years now and has progressed into a starting nose guard for the defense. At 6’2” and 310 pounds, he is a tough man to move off of the ball. Dunn’s upper body strength enables him to shed blockers and maintain the defensive line of scrimmage for the Texans. Dunn had the pleasure and fortune to learn under Vince Wilfork for two years in Houston and he demonstrated those lessons quite often in 2018.Of the four free agents on the defensive line White Kahale Warring Jersey , Dunn should be the most coveted by opposing teams. A cost-effective defensive tackle is a valuable asset in a league where defensive linemen are garnering enormous salaries. Heath contributed early in the season, but a knee injury, illness, and a lack of production kept him off of the game day roster for the second half of the season. In 2017, Heath had production comparable to what Dunn and Blackson did this past season. But with just five games played in 2018, Heath’s value to the team may not be as high as it once was. With a restricted free agent qualifying offer placed on him, there is a good chance Heath stays with the Texans unless someone actively pursues him this offseason.Each of the four players has several advantages worth keeping them in the mix to be a part of the 2019 version of the Texans d-line. In terms ofsnap counts, Blackson led the way with 430 plays on defense and played in all 16 games. Boyd should have a bigger role this time around, but Ross gives them a dynamic they wouldn’t have had otherwise.His speed is incredible. While Okowa, his deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro and former governor, Chief James Ibori, were selected to be honoured, Uduaghan was missing on the honour roll.

Taking to his Facebook page to express displeasure, the immediate past governor stated the infrastructural projects, peace, security and human capital development being enjoyed in the state are some of his administration’s achievements.

He listed some of the star projects he executed to include the Asaba International Airport, Government House, Asaba and the Dome Event Centre where the honorary event took place.
There has been no love-lost between Uduaghan and Okowa.

The bad blood forced the former governor to decamp from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) where he contested the Delta South Senatorial seat in the March 2 polls.

Man with 17 children from different women arrested for impregnating his teenage daughter in Ogun






A man with 17 children from different women has been arrested for impregnating his 16-year-old biological daughter in Ogun State. 
 
42-year-old Taofeek Oyeyemi was arrested after the girl's mother reported the issue at the Ewekoro Police Station that her daughter who had been living with her ex-husband got pregnant for him. 
 
She reportedly told Police that after her daughter got pregnant for her ex-husband, he took the young girl to a quack doctor who assisted her in aborting the child. And ever since the alleged abortion was carried out, the woman claimed that the child has been bleeding non-stop. 
 
Confirming the incident in a news release, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was picked up after the report was made by the girl's mother. 
 
During an interrogation with the suspect, the Deputy Superintendent of Police said that the man revealed that he has 17 children from different women and even confessed to sleeping with his daughter multiple times before he got her pregnant and forced her to have an abortion. 
 
According to the Police Spokesman, the girl’s mother separated from him years back and was living with her daughter until about six months ago when he came to forcefully take the girl away from her. 
 
"All efforts made by the mother to take custody of her daughter proved abortive. It was when the mother came to visit her daughter that she discovered the great atrocity committed by the suspect against her daughter,” Abimbola stated.
 
The suspect is expected to be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for thorough investigation and prosecution.
