An APGA House of Representative member, Chinedu Obidigwe, representing Anambra west/East has been dragged on social media after pictures emerged where he was offering  stomach Infrastructure to his constituents as one of his Christmas routines since finding himself in the corridors of power.

While some politically aware Anambrarians have regarded this gesture as cheapening his constituents, Some others have come forward with other deeds of the HoR member. According to one facebook comment; "He also gave them about one thousand bags of rice, thousands of tuber of yam and 30 sienna bus. Some others will still not do anything close to what they were voted for and will still not provide even toothpick"

The Federal High Court in Warri, Delta State, has awarded N50m damages against the Nigerian Army for the murder of Ajayi Oladele, who was said to have died as a result of a spinal cord injury he sustained when he was arrested and beaten by some soldiers in Warri in 2017.

Oladele was said to have been arrested and beaten by soldiers in their bid to help a businessman to recover a debt from the deceased.

Following his death, his widow, Esther Oladele, and their three children, filed the fundamental rights enforcement suit marked FHC/WR/CS/93/2017 against the Nigerian Army, one Lt. Col. T. A. Yakubu and Sergeant Hassan Hassan.

The suit was instituted on behalf of the plaintiffs by their lawyer, Mr Kunle Edun, who prosecuted the case for them free of charge.

Justice Emeka Nwite in the judgment delivered on December 10, 2019, declared that the four “plaintiffs’ right to life and therefore good and reasonable comfort of life have been violated by the acts of the defendants by the unlawful killing of Otunba Ajayi Oladele being that the deceased was the parent of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th plaintiffs and husband to the 1st plaintiff and also the breadwinner of the family.”

In the copy of the judgment seen by Punch correspondent on Wednesday, the judge made an order, “awarding the sum of N50,000,000 as general and exemplary damages jointly and severally against the defendants in favour of the plaintiffs as a result of the unlawful/wrongful death of Otunba Ajayi Oladele and for loss of consort, fatherly love/care, comfort and disruption of the family life of the plaintiffs.”

The judge also awarded N100,000 against the defendants and in favour of the plaintiffs as cost of prosecuting the case.

@FemAdesina .

I guess you also believe that the world would have been a better place if Lucifer had triumphed in Heaven and if Hitler had won WW2.

I say it again, Femi Adesina has lost his mind!

Quote:"Femi Adesina, spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari, says Nigeria would have been a better country if the president’s military regime had lasted longer...According to Adesina, Buhari’s regime led Nigeria on the right path “till forces of reaction struck, and we were back to worse than square one”.

“And if that regime had lasted for longer, Nigeria would not be in the doldrums that she found herself. It was a tough administration, but which was leading us on the right path.

“You could imagine my joy when Buhari eventually emerged civilian President after 12 years of struggle. I didn’t think I was going to ever serve in government, but I found myself in it. Just because it was Buhari.”

Adesina added that he remains a “dyed-in-the-wool Buharist” irrespective of what others see as “foibles and failings of the administration”.

The last two paragraphs were the reasons for his sycophancy.Imagine this man being over joy because this unparalleled failure unfortunately came back again to our national life.Does Adeshina truly know the hell Nigerians undergo during the military days of this tyranny?

Such a shame a journalist of repute of Adeshina kind can reduce himself to an asslicker.Sycophancy is more treacherous than backstabbing with a dagger. This is how Adolf Hitler led Nazi Germany into infamy, ingnomity and disaster.May the ills of this evil government follow Femi Adeshina & his generation. [Image: angry.png]

IEA maintains oil glut projection for 2020 as prices steady at $65

IEA maintains oil glut projection for 2020 as prices steady at $65

Despite the OPEC+ cuts, the oil market is still facing a supply surplus in 2020, according to a new report from the International Energy Agency (IEA).

According to the IEA, its demand outlook remains unchanged, as there could still be a surplus of 0.7 mb/d in the market in the first quarter of 2020, even if all the countries comply with their new allocations and Saudi Arabia delivers the rest of its voluntary cut of 0.4 mb/d.

Though oil prices have remained stable at $65 per barrel since the last OPEC meeting, there are worries for oil producers if a glut happens. For instance, Nigeria in its proposed 2020 budget, estimated oil sales to stand at 2.18 million bpd at a price of $57 per barrel, while the exchange rate is expected to remain N305 per dollar.

OPEC+ announced additional cuts of 500,000 bpd, even though the group is already producing under its limit. In November, for instance, OPEC was producing 440,000 bpd below the agreed upon ceiling.Saudi Arabia agreed to shoulder an additional 400,000 bpd of voluntary cuts. But the deal also exempts 1.5 million barrels per day (mb/d) of Russia’s condensate production, allowing Russia to actually increase condensate output by 0.8 mb/d.

Still, the deal should take supply off the market. “If all the countries comply with their new allocations and Saudi Arabia delivers the rest of its voluntary cut of 0.4 mb/d, the fall in production volume versus today will be about 0.5 mb/d,” the IEA said.OPEC said in its own report that the oil market would be largely in balance in 2020, albeit with a temporary glut in the early part of the year. The IEA sees inventories building at a rate of 0.7 mb/d in the first quarter.

The IEA cut its forecast for non-OPEC supply growth from 2.3 mb/d to 2.1 mb/d, due to weaker growth from Brazil, Ghana and the United States. The U.S. typically gets all of the attention, but disappointing news from Brazil and Ghana also led the IEA to revise forecasts lower.

But even the combined effect of slower non-OPEC production growth and the OPEC+ cuts is not enough to erase the glut entirely. “With our demand outlook unchanged, there could still be a surplus of 0.7 mb/d in the market in 1Q20,” the IEA said.

“Even if they adhere strictly to the cut, there is still likely to be a strong build in inventories during the first half of next year,” the IEA warned. But the forecasted glut largely depends on ongoing production growth from U.S. shale drillers. The IEA admits that there will be a slowdown, but is still optimistic on production growth, with gains of 1.1 mb/d in 2020, compared to 1.6 mb/d this year.

The agency has consistently been at the optimistic end of the spectrum regarding shale growth, even as major investment banks long ago slashed their forecasts. The IEA cut its U.S. supply forecast by 110,000 bpd from last month’s report, but at 1.1 mb/d, its figure still seems generous. The IEA is betting that the oil majors, who are less responsive to lower prices and problems with cash flow, will continue to scale up drilling.

Meanwhile, a new report from IHS Markit highlights the accelerating rate of decline among the U.S. shale complex, a decline rate that grows in tandem with production increases. “Oil and gas operators in the Permian Basin, the most prolific hydrocarbon resource basin in North America, will have to drill substantially more wells just to maintain current production levels and even more to grow production, owing to the high level of recent growth,” IHS said in a statement. The base decline rate in the Permian has “increased dramatically” since 2010.

FG projects rise in LPG consumption as price soars

The Federal Government, through its downstream regulator, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) linked the recent increase in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), otherwise called cooking gas, on attacks launched against some vessels.

Though the agency noted that the LPG market is deregulated and functions on the realities of demand and supply, stakeholders at the agency, in the course of the week, in Abuja, blamed the current increase in the price of cooking gas on attacks of vessels by pirates.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Abdulkadir Saidu had similarly said local consumption of witnessed a quantum leap from 1.8 kilogram per capital in 2015 to 4.4 kilogram this year, adding that LPG consumption would double from 400,000 metric tonnes to over 800,000 metric tonnes before the end of 2019, thanks to new policies aimed at encouraging use of cleaner energy sources.

PPPRA equally disclosed that the Federal Government has removed Value Added Tax (VAT) on LPG to increase its penetration, while taken strategic steps to address the challenges in the value chain.

While Nigeria is reportedly a fast a fast-growing market for LPG, 600,000MTPA of LPG was said to be consumed in 2018, through approximately 15,000 retailers, trading 1,500,000 units of LPG cylinders and serving 1,500,000 households which makes up only about five per cent total households in the country.

However, General Manager, Gas and Renewable Energy at PPPRA, Olasupo Agbaje said a coordinated approach is being chaired by the agency to urgently address the limitations facing LPG penetration in the country, including rolling out cylinders and other interventions that would encourage the masses to use cooking gas.

In the absent of cleaner cooking options, over 70 per cent of households in Nigeria use firewood, a development which has post challenge to deforestation, climate and leads to the death of over 93, 000 Nigerians yearly, according to the International Centre for Energy and Environmental Development (ICEED).

PPPRA had noted that government would encourage domestic gas utilisation through deepening liberalisation of domestic supply source, addressing domestic shipping logistics that encourage import over local production, addressing the issue of levies and taxes on LPG equipment, ensuring semi urban and rural penetration and sustained policy intervention in supply and distribution architecture.

The agency further disclosed that while Nigeria Natural Gas Production as at December 2018 stood at 44.25 billion cubic metre, less than 25 per cent of the quantity is utilized domestically while about 80 per cent is exported.
Saidu said some of the challenges confronting domestic LPG utilization are: infrastructure deficit which include, limited pipelines, inefficient and lopsided distribution system, funding limitation, low demand, low incentive regime, high starter pack cost, pricing issues, unsafe cylinder population, and absence of conversion facilities.

Others are storage and jetty limitations/constraints, limited shuttle or supply vessels, high risk of LPG utilisation, low level of awareness and sensitization, abysmally low auto gas utilization, high cost of conversion, kits etc.

The regulator also noted that government policy for the sector in Nigeria is to ensure the development of a strong and rapidly growing LPG market in the country, adding that government is addressing these issues by ensuring infrastructure challenges are addressed, import jetties are opened up to enable third party access, port clearance is improved and entry cost for consumers is minimized.

TCN insists 10,000MW wheeling capacity feasible by July 2020

[Image: Usman-Mohammed.jpg]Usman Mohammed

Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has said the country would record a wheeling capacity of 10,000 megawatts (MW) by July 2020.

Managing Director of the agency, Usman Mohammed, who stated that the company installed 68 transformers nationwide since 2017, said increasing the capacity is feasible by next year. He however stressed on the need to improve the capacity of the power Distribution Companies (DisCos) to enable them to evacuate more power should the upgrade come on stream.

The implication of the increase “means that we can generate electricity, create employment for our people and earn foreign exchange. We create an electricity market that is sustainable and that would actually help the growth of our GDP and the economy,” Mohammed said.

Reportedly, wheeling in electricity is the transportation of electric energy (megawatt-hours) from within an electrical grid to an electrical load outside the grid boundaries, especially distribution companies.

The agency had set 2020 target to boost power transmission wheeling capacity to 10,000 megawatts (MW), as part of a Transmission Master Plan.TCN had last year, said it has about 8,100MW transmission capacity, but in the real sense, only an average 4,00MW is wheeled to consumer making most stakeholders to believe the target was fabricated for political propaganda as power supply in Nigeria has remained epileptic.

Giving run down of the company’s activities in the year, Mohammed said massive milestones were achieved between February 2017 and October 2019 through the implementation of the Transmission Rehabilitation and Expansion Programme (TREP).Mohammed said TCN helped the country in debt recovery from international customers, stating that the debt for the Republics of Benin and Togo reduced from $100 million to $7m, adding that Niger Republic owe below $2m.

He said: “Electricity is not charity. We cannot allow people to consume electricity and leave us like that; they pay. We are also determined that they complete the payment. In fact, as at now, we have restricted their supply to only their contractual debts and we are insisting that they pay all their outstanding before we reconnect them.”

To him, the TREP would increase bulk power transmission wheeling capacity from 6,500MW to 10,000MW in 2020 and reaching 20,000MW by 2021.Disclosing some of the conductors to be used in boosting the capacity are already in the country, Mohammed said: “We believe that by June, July we should be able to complete those reconductoring and come up with that capacity.”

DPR eyes Q1 2020 to show results for sector’s priorities

[Image: Ahmad-Shakur.jpg]Acting Director DPR, Ahmad Shakur

There are indications that the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) will by first quarter of next year, show its scorecard on some priority agendas the Federal Government is working to reposition the oil and gas sector in the next four years.

At a meeting held in Abuja to fast-track its part of the government strategies, Acting Director DPR, Ahmad Shakur, who met with top management of the agency alongside the Minister of State Petroleum for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva said a new approach is urgently required to deliver some key government priorities before the end of the current administration.

Shakur, who spoke at the event specifically said, the attempt by DPR would significantly aid implementation of the plan to eradicate Premium Motor Spirit or petrol smuggling across Nigerian border, complete gas flare commercialisation, LPG penetration and other gas utilisation projects, increase of crude oil production to three million barrel per day, reduce the cost of crude oil extraction by at least five percent, ensure passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, increase of domestic refining capacity as well as aiding creating of well-paying jobs for youths.

He said: “We are developing a very strong measuring standard to measure performance. That will form the basis of our work going forward. The proper measurement of performance would be from first quarter of 2020. We need to end 2019 with clear vision of what is expected of us by the government.

“This time around it is not going to be business as usual. If it is not going to be business as usual from the top then it won’t be across the agency.

“We have signed agreement with the Minister on our deliverables for the next four years.

This is like a death warrant that we are committed to delivering these things in the next four years and there will be a quarterly review of these deliverables to check if you are on course or not.

There is also modifications to see whether the agencies are on track or not.”Shakur said that the strategic management retreat would further assist the DPR to sustain the tempo of ongoing reforms in the agency which is geared towards aligning with the agency’s vision to be a world class regulator

Nigeria’s annual inflation stood at 11.85 per cent in November, up from 11.61 per cent in October, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Tuesday.

A separate food price index showed inflation at 14.48 per cent in November, up from 14.09 per cent in October.

The NBS explained that the increases were recorded in all Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP) divisions that yielded the headline index. The NBS said in month-on-month basis, the headline index increased by 1.02 per cent in November 2019, adding that it was 0.05 per cent rate lower than the rate recorded in October 2019 which was 1.07 per cent.

The bureau said that the percentage change in the average composite CPI for the twelve months period ending November 2019 over the average of the CPI for the previous twelve months period was 11.35 per cent.

‘$39.32bn reserves can ensure naira stability’

Although they have been on a downtrend in recent months, the current level of the nation’s external reserves is still strong, enough to ensure naira stability well into the first half of next year, analysts at Coronation Research have said.

The analysts stated this in a note obtained by New Telegraph at the weekend.

As the analysts put it: “The Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) foreign exchange reserves have shed $381.40million so far in December bringing the gross figure to $39.3billion( a 30-day moving average).  One-year Open Market Operations (OMO) yields at 14.64 per cent are 264bps below what they were at the start of the year (17.28 per cent).

“In our view this may pose a challenge for the CBN in attracting much-needed Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI), and the recent negative ratings outlook on Nigeria from Moody’s may not help.

In our view, however, the current level of FX reserves is sufficient to sustain the naira at current levels for the rest of 2019 and well into H1 2020.”

CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, had stated at the opening of the 2019 Annual Bankers’ Committee Retreat in Ogun State at the weekend that  the apex bank’s measures  had resulted in the  naira-dollar exchange rate remaining stable at the Investors and Exporters’ (I&E)  foreign exchange window over the past 30 months at N360 – $1, adding that  there has been significant convergence in the exchange rate across the various market windows.

He disclosed that over $60billion worth of transactions had taken place on the I&E window since it was established by the CBN on April 2017.

The CBN Governor, who attributed the huge volume of transactions on the I&E window to the impact of the  regulator’s   tight monetary policy regime, as well as  its measures aimed at ensuring  attractive yields in the money market,  stated  that the  country’s foreign exchange reserves,  which are currently  at  $39 billion, compared with  $23billion in October 2016, could finance nine months of current import commitments.

I am a ‘MOM’ first and that is what I will always be. Divorce is no joke and shouldn’t be an option in your marriage, but if it puts your life and your kids life at risk, all I will say to you is please be brave. .

The suspension followed bloodbath between rival gangs in Aguda and Ijeshatedo axis of Coker-Aguda and Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Areas of Lagos.

Three persons have been confirmed dead with many injured.

The Nation learnt that two police officers were injured in the process of restoring peace.
The suspension, according to the council boss, becomes necessary to ensure safety of lives and properties of the people of Coker-Aguda LCDA.

Mrs. Akinyemi-Obe said the peace of the community was threatened by the clash between rival unions in the area on Sunday and the reprisal attack on Monday which led to the deaths of two and arrest of many others.

Lagos State Police Command said 75 persons have been arrested in connection with the fracas.
NURTW Lagos State Council Chairman Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (a.k.a MC Oluomo) described the council chairman’s action as a welcome development.

Though, he denied the involvement of members of his union in the commotion, Akinsanya however said he would support any action that would guaranty peace in the area.

Mrs. Akinyemi-Obe also directed operators of ‘Beer parlours’/Bars and viewing centres in the council area to close shop for their activities latest by 6pm until further notice.

According to her, the sale of local gin otherwise known as Paraga should be discontinued henceforth.

“We have adopted a security strategy and measures to forestall various attacks and activities that disrupt communal peace. We would not deviate from our zero-tolerance for violence and other nefarious activities.

“Any act that negates our peaceful coexistence would be not with full wrath of law,” she said.
She urged residents and visitors to the council to go about their businesses without fear as the situation has been brought under control by the prompt response of the Special Strike ‘F’ on social miscreants, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Area C Command, Aguda/ljeshatedo Police Division, Surulere and we have resolved to intensify patrol and surveillance in and around the Local Government.

Mrs. Akinyemi-Obe, who later went out to ascertain the level of havoc wrecked by the hoodlums, commiserated with those whose property were vandalised and looted.
The hoodlums were said to have burgled many shops during the melee and carted away goods worth millions of naira.

Banks Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) were not spared.

A clothier attendant, Michael Onyekachi, said the hoodlums destroyed the glasses and his brother’s shop and looted clothes and pair of shoes.

“We don’t know the worth of the goods stolen until we take proper stock. I am still waiting for my brother to come,” he said.

NURTW boss Akinsanya maintained that the fracas was between hoodlums.

He admitted that some of the union members might be involved in the commotion but quickly warned that such members if identified would be dismissed from the union.

“I have asked the chairmen of our branches in those areas and they said they were not involved in the fight. I learnt the police had arrested 75 suspects.

“We will appreciate if the police could profile them and let us know if there are union members among them.

“We will definitely punish those involve after they might have faced the wrath of the law. We want the police and the council chief to help identify any of our members involve.

Edo 2020: Obaseki, Ize- Iyamu To Battle For APC Ticket
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-19-2019, 09:59 AM - No Replies

Quote:Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos
Godwin Obaseki, Edo State governor, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, his main challenger in the governorship election in 2016, will both slug it out for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s governorship election in the state.

Although the two are expected to be the main contenders, others who may also contest on the APC platform are Chris Ogiemwonyi, Charles Airhiavbere, Pius Odubu, the yet-to-be-sworn in Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) board chairman.

Though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to announce a date for the governorship election, political analysts believe that the primary to determine the party’s flag bearers will likely take place in June while the election may hold in September.

Ize-Iyamu, who recently defected to the APC, was formally welcomed into the party last week at his residence by a faction of the APC loyal to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the party’s national chairman and former governor of the state.

Both Oshiomhole and Obaseki have been at loggerheads over unresolved political differences.

It has been speculated that Oshiomhole persuaded Ize-Iyamu, a grassroots politician with a strong followership in the state, to join the APC where he would use his influence as national chairman to give him the party’s ticket.

There are also speculations that Obaseki may find his way to the PDP, the major opposition party in the state. However, he has repeatedly denied this, saying he had no plans to quit the APC.

“If a handful of individuals start misbehaving and feel we will leave the party for them, they will be the ones to leave,” Obaseki had said.

Also, Charles Idahosa, a former Commissioner for Information in the state, said the governor had no plans to dump the APC for another political platform in order to secure the ticket for his re-election.

He said despite the feud between Obaseki and Oshiomhole, the governor had done so much to deserve his second term and therefore could not be pushed aside by Oshiomhole and his foot soldiers in the APC.

“There is nothing like that. It is a black lie that the governor is leaving the party for another. Governor Obaseki is not leaving the APC for anybody. He is getting the party’s ticket and he must do his second term,” Idahosa declared.

However, leaders of the APC in Edo State, under the aegis of the Edo Peoples Movement (EPM), have said the governor does not deserve a second term, insisting they would shop for a better candidate that would fly the party’s flag in 2020.

Samson Osagie, a former minority whip of the House of Representatives, said: “Governor Obaseki is only dreaming to think that because he is the custodian of our collective patrimony he will intimidate us and hoodwink Edo people to shy away from giving him a run for our money he is amassing to run for second term.

“Let this serve as notice to him that some of us are going to present ourselves for next year’s gubernatorial elections and by the time the array of contestants are unveiled, Edo people will not choose deceit over sincerity, rhetoric over substance, and a government that has encouraged capital flight from the state over a government that will make sure the resources of the state circulates among its citizens.”

On the mode of the primary to be adopted, a credible source in the party said since there were two factions in the state, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party led by Oshiomhole would determine the mode of primary to be used in selecting the party’s candidate.

“The APC has three methods for the primary. They are direct, indirect, and consensus. The party usually gives the states to choose the method they want.

“But just as it happened in Kogi APC during the just concluded governorship election, the NWC may step in and adopt a method if the party is factionalised.
“In Edo today, the party is factionalised with two state chairmen. Col. David Imuse, who is from the Oshiomhole camp, is claiming to be the state chairman of the party while Anselm Ojezua, who is solidly behind Governor Obaseki, has also said he remains the authentic chairman.

“If this is not resolved, the NWC may wade in adopt the mode of primary for the election,” he said.

Speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday, Ize-Iyamu said he would do all he could to ensure that the misunderstanding in the party was resolved. He also said he had instructed his followers who defected with him from the PDP to register at their ward levels.

“We will continue to do all we can to ensure that the little misunderstanding is resolved. But we have told all our people to go and join the party at the ward level, just as I did. Luckily, in many of the wards, we don’t have any faction there.

“We will try and bring more people into the APC in the coming days. I believe the whole tension will soon come down and we will have a united party,” he said.
Also speaking on whether he would contest the governorship election on the APC platform, Ize-Iyamu said only God would determine that.

He said: “We leave that to God and for our people. Next year may appear near but it is still far. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see how it goes.”
However, Barrister Anselm Ojezua, Edo State chairman of the APC, said on Wednesday that the membership status of Ize-Iyamu was not clear as a lot of people believed that he defected to Edo People’s Mandate (EPM) and not the APC.

According to Ojezua, “What is more important and fundamental is that we have to, first of all, establish his (Ize-Iyamu) status. There are some people who believe that what he joined was EPM, not APC.

“Can he effectively join APC without the leadership of the party knowing about it? That is not possible.”

…Advises against the $29.6bn loan

Quote:Human Right lawyer, Chief Femi Falana, Wednesday, warned President Muhammadu Buhari against allotting oil blocs to individuals in the country.

Falana vowed to drag the President to court if he does otherwise.

He spoke as a guest lecturer at a Public lecture entitled: “Politics In Nigeria, Finding A Balance Between Political Interest And The Demand For Good Governance” organised by Imeri Convergence 2019.

On the proposed $29.6bn loan approval being sought by the President at the Senate, Falana said the nation would be plunged into perpetual indebtedness which generation unborn would bear part of the brunt if the Senate should approve the loan.

The nation according to him “is currently serving its debt with 50 per cent of its annual budget.
Instead of taking loans, he advised the present administration to block leakages in the system.

He, therefore, called on Nigerians to take their destiny in their hands.

On the allocation of oil blocs, the human right lawyer said “non of the beneficiaries of oil blocs in the past had the technology to explore the oil, but rather they travel abroad to look for companies they sell or lease the oil blocs to at huge amount of money.

Falana described the sharing of oil blocs as a corrupt way politicians share the wealth among themselves and their associates.

On restructuring, he said that the present administration was not interested in the issue of restructuring and that Nigerians should stop thinking President Buhari will do it.

On Sowore travails, Falana expressed worries that the present administration prefers obeying other country’s court verdicts while disobeying the ones in Nigeria.

” If you continue to disobey court orders no country will invest in this country. If you want Nigeria to work then our government must obey court orders.

He described Sowore as a victim of injustice.
Senator Bode Olajumoke charged politicians to shun politics of bitterness for the development of the nation.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu enjoined the people to always express their grievances in a way that would not encroach the rights of others.

One of the discussants, Chief Sola Ebiseni condemned the lopsidedness in the appointment in the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC), saying Ondo State should produce the next Managing Director of the commission.

He was, however, advised by Falana to drag the Federal Government to court , saying it’s a breach of the Act that established the Commission.

Danish aid worker rescues another boy who was forced to live in uncompleted buildings for 5 years after being branded a witch and abandoned by his family

Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Loven and her husband David Emmanuel Umem have rescued another young boy who was abandoned by his family after being branded a "witch".

The couple rescued Uduak about 4 months ago, on the 24 of August, but just shared the story to Facebook.

Uduak was accused of being responsible for his mother's death and being the reason why his father ran away.

As a result, no one wanted to take him in so he was forced to sleep in an uncompleted building and fend for himself alone for 5 years. He survived by climbing palm trees to pick palm kernels and sell.

I’m sure you remember the rescue. If not, go to the 26 of August on my timeline to read the whole story.
The villagers said that Uduak was a witch. They claimed that he killed his own mother and that was the reason the father ran away.
Uduak’s uncle did not allow him to stay in his house because of the witchcraft allegations. Uduak was forced to take care of himself and for 5 years he struggled to survive, taking shelter in an abandoned house.
In the first update from August I did not take pictures from the abandoned house where Uduak stayed. But yesterday I took pictures and made a video. It was so sad. I cannot imagine the pain and extreme loneliness Uduak must have felt living in such inhuman conditions. He is only a child.
Yesterday the local villagers and Uduak’s uncle were surprised to see Uduak again. His transformation in just 4 months made them look twice.
Uduak would have died long ago if it was not for his survival skills. He became very good at climbing palm trees to get the fruits that is used in producing palm olie and palm wine. The money he could get from the fruits was not much and he would often spend it on smoking marijuana. He was desperate to escape reality.
Look at these pictures and video and you will understand why.

Former Governor of Borno State, Mohammed Goni has lost a lawsuit he filed seeking the payment of his pension and other benefits.

The lawsuit filed by Goni who was the first civilian governor of the former Borno from October 1979 to October 1983 was dismissed by the National Industrial Court, Abuja on grounds of lacking merit.

The former Governor asked the court to declare that he is entitled to receiving monthly pension for life and the additional benefits enumerated in Sections 3 (1) and (3) of the Borno State, subsection 3 (i) – (ix) of the Borno State (Grant of pension to Governors and Deputy Governors) Law, 2005 (as amended in 2009).

Goni who sought for a mandatory order of the court directing the defendants to immediately pay him the accrued pension and also provide him the additional benefits, however admitted being paid his pension only for four years, starting from July 2014 till date.

Delivering her judgement on the case, Justice Edith Agbakoba stated that the Borno State (Grant of pension to Governors and Deputy Governors) Law, 2005 (as amended in 2009) did not apply to the claimant.

Agbakoba added that the law had no retrospective provision covering Governors and Deputy Governors who were not elected in accordance to any law in force immediately before the coming into force of the 1999 Constitution as amended. She thereafter dismissed the suit for lacking merit and awarded no cost.

Six dead and many injured in collapsed mining pit in Jos

At least six persons have died with many injured after a mining pit collapsed on Tuesday, December 17, at Zawan Community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau.

About 50 persons were reportedly inside the mining pit when it collapsed on them.

Mr. Gwottson Fom, Member representing Jos South Constituency in the State House of Assembly confirmed the sad incident in a statement on Wednesday, December 18.

He said the victims (aged from 20 to 27) were carrying out an illegal activity when the mining pit collapse.

“We know that these young persons died carrying out an illegal activity but it is obvious unemployment led them into doing it.

“People go out of their way to do things considered illegal just to fend for themselves and their families.

“This is not time to apportion blames but it is sad and unfortunate that a community will lose six youths in a day,’’ he said.

Fom also issued a warning to illegal miners to desist from the act, or if they must engage in it they must be licensed to do it

“If people must engage in mining activities, they should do it the right way. They must ensure they are licensed to do it,’’ he advised.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 19TH DECEMBER.

FOCUS ON HIS SPIRITUALITY

…even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint and as a man, yet now...we know Him no longer [in terms of the flesh] (2 Corinthians 5:16 AMPC).

When some people say, “I want to be like Jesus,” what they really mean is to be like the “Jewish man” who walked the streets of Galilee and Capernaum. Some even get enthused at discussions about His physical stature: His build, height, physique, looks, etc., losing sight of what’s more important—His spirituality. Beyond His physicality, you should focus on “Jesus—the Word!”

The limitations of the “physical” Jesus were Jewish. As a Jew, for example, He celebrated Passover, but Passover meant nothing to the non-Jew. Therefore, our focus should be on Jesus the Son of God; God in flesh. See Him in, and through the Word, because He’s the living Word. The Apostle Paul, at some point, mistakenly thought of Christ as though He were merely an ordinary man of Jewish descent. But then, he realized that even though Jesus walked the earth in a physical frame, and lived as a Jewish man, He wasn’t ordinary.

Paul’s focus henceforth was on Jesus—the Word— and he went on to be so successful in his ministry! John 1:14 tells us that God’s Word was personified, and the result was the man, Christ Jesus: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us….” So, see Him as the Word incarnate; see Him as the totality of God’s thoughts, ideas, opinions, will, and emotions tabernacled in human flesh. Focus on Him as God’s perfect imprint, the icon of the unseen God, just as Hebrews 1:3 reveals.

Moreover, here’s something quite supreme: as He is the Word made flesh, so are you an offspring of the Word. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 John 4:17 says as He is, so are we in this world. Not as He was, in Galilee, but as He is now, risen in glory, power, strength and excellence, so are you now. You have His righteousness, life, and nature in you NOW. You’re the effulgence of His glory and the express image of His person. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I refuse to be recognized according to my physical or earthly features or nativity, but I see myself in, and through the Word. As Jesus is, in His glory, power, strength and excellence now, so am I in this world. Blessed be God!

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

19TH DECEMBER.

I affirm that I am alive unto God! I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

I am the expression of God's beauty! His beauty in my spirit is bursting forth on the outside in an undeniable fashion. Excellence, glory, virtue, and success are the hallmarks of my life.

I am triumphant, victorious, prosperous, and successful in all things. My life is for His glory, and His righteousness is expressed in, and through me. Daily, I am propelled in the direction of God’s perfect will and destiny for my life! I grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The blessing of the Lord is at work in me in an increasing measure, and everywhere I go; I am blessed and highly favored. I am born with a glorious life, and success is rooted in my spirit. The Word of God has made me wise unto salvation, and the forces of success, prosperity, and divine health are let loose in my life.

I can never be disadvantaged, for I am in God's place for my life. I am the salt of the earth. I was called and chosen to give purpose and meaning to the lives of men and women in my world. I was born as the answer to the cry of many, and I am responding to that call by impacting my generation with the knowledge of Christ's salvation.

I recognize God's divine ability, efficiency and might that is at work in me today, and by virtue of the divine life of Christ in me, I forbid the enemy from functioning and perpetuating evil in my sphere of contact. Hallelujah.

I reign, win and dominate by the power of the Holy Spirit. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

God bless you

A Kansas City sports radio host has been taken off the air for comments about Chiefs coach Andy Reid lacking discipline De’Anthony Thomas Jersey , citing Reid’s son, who died of a drug overdose.“We are aware of the controversial comments made by Kevin Kietzman during yesterday’s broadcast of Between the Lines,” Sports Radio WHB said in a statement. “We have decided to take the immediate step to take Kevin off the air until further notice as we review this matter. We take Kevin’s comments and those of all on-air staff seriously. Kevin’s comments were clearly not to his or our standards. Please know that we will take necessary appropriate actions. We sincerely apologize to Andy Reid and his family, the Kansas City Chiefs organization and our loyal listeners and share their concerns.”Discussing whether the Chiefs would discipline Tyreek Hill, Kietzman said that Reid has never been big on discipline.“Andy Reid does not have a great record of fixing players,” Kietzman said on the air. “He doesn’t. Discipline is not his thing. It did not work out particularly well in his family life, and that needs to be added to this, as we’re talking about the Chiefs. He wasn’t real great at that either. He’s had a lot of things go bad on him, family and players. He is not good at fixing people. He is not good at discipline. That is not his strength. His strength is designing football plays.”Reid’s son, Garrett Reid, died of a drug overdose at the Eagles’ training camp in 2012 Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Jersey , when Reid was the Eagles’ head coach. Many who heard Kietzman’s statement interpreted it as a reference to Garrett’s death, but Kietzman denied that, saying he was referring to legal troubles Garrett and his brother had before Garrett died.“I never mentioned one word about the tragic death of Andy Reid’s son and quickly corrected a caller who did,” Kietzman wrote on Twitter. “I was talking about the owner’s record of ‘fixing’ players, the team’s record and Andy’s record. I was referencing the drug addiction and convictions for dealing drugs. When they served time and Reid hired them to work for his football teams, it was no longer a private matter. But blaming a parent for the death of their child in these circumstances is unthinkable and reprehensible.”Kietzman’s bosses apparently didn’t buy that explanation. It is unclear whether he will ever be back on the air. The Chiefs wrapped up training camp in St. Joseph on Thursday." Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Patrick Mahomes and the first-team offense and defense will get the first half, the second team will get the third quarter and the third team and beyond will take the fourth.Reid explained he has never really considered sitting quarterback Patrick Mahomes Ron Parker Jersey , even if he is the MVP of the National Football League.“He works, he wants to work, and we go with that,” Reid said. “You never know about injuries. You never know about them during the season, you don’t know about them during the preseason. When the guys go play, they’re not going out there worried about injuries and all of that stuff.”Mahomes told reporters Thursday he treats the preseason like the regular season, and his goals are simple.“I just want to be successful at moving the ball down the field,” Mahomes said. “It’s not so much about throwing touchdowns or going out there and getting the big play but it’s just about positive gains, moving the ball the right way, and hopefully that turns into points.”In the mind of Reid—and by proxy, the Chiefs—training camp means more than what takes place on the football field. Reid has said the past that part of the reason he likes traveling to St. Joseph is to build team fellowship Allen Bailey Jersey , and that rang true in St. Joseph in 2019. “We’re together here so much,” Reid said. “We’re here and that’s part of it. A lot of teams don’t do this anymore. The fact that you’re meeting together, you’re eating together and you’re working hard together, it develops a certain camaraderie there that I appreciate. You find out a lot about people, each team member. You can’t hide a lot when you’re doing that. That helps bond you as a team.”Bonding is one thing, but performing is another. Now more than ever, the expectation for the Chiefs is the Super Bowl, and training camp served as a foundation for that goal. Asked about whether the Chiefs were able to accomplish that, and Reid answered affirmatively. ”I feel like we have to this point,” he said. “Now, do we have a bunch of work to get done yet? Yeah Eric Fisher Jersey , we do, before the season starts. The guys came out with what I thought was a great attitude. They had a purpose of wanting to be better. That’s the way they approached it. Every day, they came with something individually to make themselves better, and then collectively as a team to make themselves better.”ObservationsThe Chiefs wrapped up St. Joseph with a cooler practice than the past few days—the temperature stayed right in the low-to-mid-70s. Andy Reid ran a 10-10-10 practice, a lighter day in which the Chiefs wear shorts and shells. Reid on 10-10-10 practice earlier this camp: “With 10-10-10’s, we service each other. Offense services defense, defense services offense. You get into specific things that you want to work on that particular day.”Hard to take anything of substance away from this type of practice, but I did notice that while the top offensive personnel is set, for the most part, I could see the Chiefs rotating players quite a bit on defense this year. That could mean a decent percentage of snaps for defensive linemen Tanoh Kpassagnon and Breeland Speaks, as well as Xavier Williams Cameron Erving Jersey , if he makes the roster. In my mind, Juan Thornhill wins the starting safety job, but Daniel Sorensen will still remain an integral part of the defense with the Chiefs using three-safety looks. While we’re talking about safeties, Tyrann Mathieu tipped a pass to himself for a pick during Thursday’s practice. It was Military Appreciation Day at training camp, so the Chiefs welcomed members of the military onto the practice field after the workout concluded. Military members took pictures with and received autographs from the Chiefs (videos below). Injury reportThe four Kansas City Chiefs who did not participate in practice Thursday have been ruled out by Andy Reid for the game. Read our full injury report from Friday here.Tweets of noteQuote of the dayPatrick Mahomes on spending training camp away from Kansas City at Missouri Western State in St. Joseph: “I always say the third floor is the most fun floor. We were always messing with each other’s rooms and trying to do this and that to try to keep people trapped in their rooms. That is just building chemistry and it’s kind of that thing where you get to be around people that you might not get to be around all the time like you are in St. Joseph. It’s been a good experience for me every year.”What’s next? The Chiefs will take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. Arrowhead Time. They will resume practice at their facility in Kansas City next week.

Wilkins played his decision close to the chest and announced he would be attending Clemson late in the recruiting season. He chose the Tigers over Penn State, Alabama, Ohio State, and Stanford to name a few. He got to work immediately as a freshman contributing on the field behind Kevin Dodd and Carlos Watkins. Wilkins entered the starting lineup the next season after Dodd graduated to the NFL. He quickly and clearly established himself as a force not only on Clemson’s defensive line but in the country. Wilkins could have left for the NFL after the 2017 season. He finished his degree in 2.5 years so schoolwork wasn’t a concern but at the end of that season got a 2nd round grade from the draft advisory board. Wilkins knew he was a 1st round talent, and most of the draft pundit thought so too, but he wanted to go back to school to solidify that. Wilkins had another great season and won another championship with his teammates. Outside of his success on the football field he is known for his high character, attractive personality, and leadership skills. The team that selects Wilkins will not only be getting a first round talent but also a potential ‘face of the franchise’ type player. StrengthsGood size, strength, and agility for the position.Disruptive, plays with explosive burst and agility. Can split gaps and give offensive linemen fits. Shows power and good functional strength. Can overpower linemen and even at times take them off their feet. Shows good lateral movement for a defensive linemen and can pursue and close in on the ball carrier quickly. Shows really good awareness and vision and knows how to fight through blocks and match the trajectory of the ball carrier in the run game.As a pass rusher he also uses his strength https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/au...rin-jersey , power, and lower body to collapse the pocket. Hands are heavy and powerful. Uses his agility, flexibility, and speed to work inside and is relentless in his effort to get to the quarterback. Commands double teams. Forces QBs to move and affects throws. Hands are also active in passing lanes and he can bat them down.Team player. Asked to do everything under the sun for Clemson. Play RB? Check. Play Linebacker? Check. Play Safety? Check. Catch passes on punt fakes? Check. Drop into coverage? Check.Regarded as a likable, high character person with great leadership abilities. WeaknessesDoesn’t have the ideal length you want out of your DL players. When faced with more quality OL he had a harder time separating himself. Let’s see his work:More Christian Wilkins videosHow He Would Fit On The RedskinsWilkins is a player I would categorize as too good to pass up on if he made it to 15. From a talent perspective he’s a top 10 pick but because of the depth of other positions in this draft and the desperation for quarterbacks it could be possible that Wilkins somehow slips. He could play any position on the defensive line but I think its best if he move outside to DE where he could show off all his physical skills. Adding a player of his caliber and with his potential could arguably make the Redskins defensive line the best in the league especially after he learns some things from coach Tomsula. As I mentioned in Zach Allen’s profile the Redskins identity is their defensive line. Wilkins not only would elevate the unit but really hammer home some of the character and leadership rebuilding that the team has needed and has just started to undergo. If Wilkins is there at 15 the Redskins have to consider him. A football organization extends far beyond the football field, and in Washington the portion of the football organization extending beyond the football field appears to be in disarray.Chris Russell of 106.7 The Fan in D.C. said Wednesday that Washington has endured a “mass exodus” of employees since January.“I’ve been told this by multiple, multiple people,” Russell said. “Almost 40 people have left, behind the scenes. We’re not talking about football players or coaches or anything like that. . . . Nobody wants to work there. It’s a terrible culture.”That won’t come as a terrible shock to anyone who has been paying attention to the team in recent years, highlighted by the clumsy termination of G.M. Scot McCloughan. While responsibility for the business ultimately rests with owner Daniel Snyder, the focal point of criticism has been, and continues to be Montez Sweat Jersey , team president Bruce Allen.“Everybody thinks on my end that I just have it out for Bruce Allen,” Russell said. “If I’m being honest, I don’t think he’s a good leader. I don’t think he’s a good person, I don’t think he treats people well. . . .  and the leadership of that franchise.”Allen has managed to finagle a position that makes him immune from accountability for the performance of the football team, even though he still has fingerprints all over the football operation.“From everything that I here, there is this split between the coaching staff and Bruce, where the coaching staff kind of thinks it’s all a joke and they’re wondering, ‘What the hell are you guys doing?'” Russell said.Through it all, a vague sense of optimism regarding the team has emerged, highlighted by the selection of quarterback Dwayne Haskins and the ability to trade back into round one and (potentially) steal pass rusher Montez Sweat. And there’s nothing like winning to alter the perception of a football team. The problem is that Washington hasn’t done much winning since winning Super Bowl XXVI — the team hasn’t even been back to the NFC Championship game since then, which ties them with the Lions for the longest drought in the conference.

The #PFTPM podcast gives me a way to react to news that emerges during the day (after concludes) Womens Joejuan Williams Jersey , to answer questions from you, and/or to babble on and on about whatever I’d like to babble on and on about. Sometimes, in the process of babbling on and on about something, I get an idea. While discussing the status of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott‘s holdout and the latest offer that reportedly was made to Elliott by the them, it occurred to me that, at their core, these contractual conundrums that the Cowboys currently are confronting reflect deep-seated envy of a franchise that has appeared in 10 Super Bowls since the last time the Cowboys played in the NFL’s championship game. Indeed, the Cowboys haven’t even been back to the NFC title game during a 23-year run that has included 10 AFC championship and six Super Bowl trophies for the New England Patriots, eclipsing along the way the five that the Cowboys won from 1971 through 1995.The Patriots have mastered the ability to persuade players to take less than full market value, which has become a key ingredient in both holding together a nucleus of great talent and having enough cap space left to maintain a solid middle class of backups who can step in when injuries inevitably happen. The Cowboys Authentic Joejuan Williams Jersey , who currently have the most talent they’ve had since the salary cap began to chip away at the Jimmy Johnson-built roster that won three titles in four years from 1992 through 1995, are trying to impose that mindset on their players, but they can’t. And it seems to be driving them a little batty.Yes, it’s good to have a bunch of great players. And now the Cowboys will either do what the Vikings have done, paying all of them at or close to market value and hoping for the best when it comes to the second- and third-string players, or persuade the likes of Elliott and Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper to act like Patriots.Of course, the envy between the franchises quite possibly runs both ways. No matter how many championships the Patriots win, the Cowboys remain America’s Team, drawing eyeballs like no one else, even in down years. Still Joejuan Williams Jersey Boys , it’s better to have the championships, and the Cowboys want more of them. They’ll be more likely to get more if they can get their best players to do what most of the best Patriots players always do: Take less. The only problem for the Cowboys is that Zeke, Dak, and Amari aren’t inclined to do that. Earlier this year, Prescott made it clear that a team-friendly deal is an unfriendly proposition. “Nobody’s wife makes as much money as [Tom Brady’s] wife does,” Prescott told said at the time. “When Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in the home, then that’s a great problem to have.”This means that the Cowboys eventually have to choose between finding a way to make it work (even if they end up with a subpar collection of backups) or making tough decisions about trading certain players or letting them become free agents, relying on the organization’s ability to draft and develop cheaper replacements. It would be a lot easier if the best players would simply take less, like the best Patriots do. The sooner the Cowboys realize that’s just not happening, the sooner they’ll get these contractual disputes resolved Youth Irving Fryar Jerseys , one way or the other. <em>Last week: 8-5-1</em><em>Weeks 1 through 4: 31-29-2</em>Home teams shown in bold. PITTSBURGH (AP) — Now it’s Mark Barron’s turn to try and replace Ryan Shazier. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Barron to a two-year deal on Tuesday and tasked him with filling the void left by Shazier. The Pro Bowl linebacker’s career is on hiatus while he recovers from a spinal injury suffered in a win over Cincinnati in December 2017.The 29-year-old Barron comes to Pittsburgh from the Los Angeles Rams. Barron spent four-plus seasons with the Rams Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , starting 66 games while developing a reputation as a sure tackler despite being a bit undersized for the position at 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds. The Rams released Barron earlier this month before Barron began the fourth season of a five-year, $45 million deal. Barron admitted getting cut came as a bit of a surprise but added “I do know the business of football.”The Steelers are hoping Barron can create a role for himself alongside veteran Vince Williams. Jon Bostic finished with 2½ sacks in 14 games in 2018 but saw his playing time decrease late in the year. L.J. Fort, who took over for Bostic, signed with Philadelphia last week.Barron, who entered the NFL as a safety when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him with the seventh overall pick of the 2012 draft, believes he is the kind of linebacker who doesn’t have to leave the field based on the situation.“As far as what all they’ll ask me to do, I’m not sure,” Barron said. “I’m a versatile guy. I feel like I can do whatever is needed and I’m here to do whatever is needed to help this team win.”Barron made the transition to linebacker in 2015 when Alec Ogletree went down with an injury. He called it a blessing and believes his background as a safety helped him thrive Womens James Conner Jersey , despite giving away 70-plus pounds to opposing offensive linemen.“If a guy is going to be a smaller linebacker, he has to be tough, has to be physical, has to be strong and has to be smart and realize you’re undersized so you have to do some things differently,” Barron said.Barron finished with eight tackles for the Rams in their 13-3 loss to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. He called it a “great experience” despite the result but added “I’m not the type of guy to be in the Super Bowl, I want to win the Super Bowl.” FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — If there’s been a blueprint to having success against the Patriots defense this season, it’s started with running the football.Seven times in 2018 New England has allowed an opponent to rush for 100 or more yards. On four of those occasions it’s ended in a Patriots loss. In includes last week’s 34-33 loss at Miami in which New England gave up a season-high 189 yards to the Dolphins prior to their miraculous final play.“The run game’s been something that we need to do a much better job of coaching T. J. Watt Jersey White , do a better job of playing,” Patriots linebacker coach Brian Flores said. “Teams are going to keep running the ball or attempting to run the ball until we do something to stop it. Obviously, that’s at the top of my priority list and our priority list as a defensive staff.”While it is an issue that will need to be corrected if the Patriots hope to go deep in the playoffs, they get a reprieve of sorts this week as they prepare for a trip to Pittsburgh .This will be just the second time in five meetings since 2013 (regular season and playoffs) that New England won’t be facing running back Le’Veon Bell, who last month refused to sign a one-year, $14.4 million franchise tender making him ineligible to play this season.Bell also missed the 2015 regular-season meeting with the Patriots while serving a two-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy (The Steelers lost 28-21).Pittsburgh hasn’t beaten New England with Bell on the roster. But it came closest last season, when Bell rushed 24 times for 117 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ 27-24 comeback win.Asked if his team is missing Bell’s presence on offense this season, coach Mike Tomlin initially responded simply “No” on Wednesday. On the specific topic of whether Bell’s decision to sit out has affected Pittsburgh’s locker room at all Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , Tomlin also downplayed the impact.“It’s not something that this group of men have missed,” he said. “It’s a part of business, unfortunately, at this level. We all know and understand it. We’ve been focused on the people that have been here and working.”Pittsburgh started the season 1-2-1 before going on a six-game win streak that included four straight 100-yard rushing games by Bell’s replacement James Conner. That production has tailed off during the Steelers’ current three-game losing streak, which has included losses to the Broncos, Chargers and Raiders.Conner suffered an ankle injury against Los Angeles and sat out last week’s loss to Oakland.  him out.Pittsburgh is averaging 89 rushing yards per game, ranking 29th in the NFL. If Conner can’t go Womens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey , the primary rushing duties will fall to rookie Jaylen Samuels and former Patriot Stevan Ridley. But both are averaging just 2.6 yards per carry and have only one rushing touchdown between them.New England’s defense is ranked 15th in the NFL, allowing 113 rushing yards. It also hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher in 10 straight games.Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Samuels, listed as a tight end coming out of college, presents a unique challenge whenever he’s on the field.“He’s a guy they try to get the ball to and they put him in a lot of different spots,” Belichick said.Numbers aside, Tomlin said he likes what he’s seen from Samuels lately.“He’s just working in all areas to be the type of player that we need him to be, obviously, which is a complete one Womens T. J. Watt Jersey ,” Tomlin said. “He’s got that type of focus and he’s a sharp, young man so it’s not unreasonable to expect improvement in all areas.”Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy said this week is big for them no matter who is available for Pittsburgh.“We’re ready for the Steelers,” he said. “It’s going to be an amazing atmosphere there. It’s going to be a playoff atmosphere. They need a win. We need a win. So it’s going to be a highly competitive game.”

Mark Davis would like the Oakland A’s to know he is sorry. About his language. After a profane tirade about his baseball neighbors and how they complicated his life in Oakland Womens Derek Carr Jersey , the Raiders owner felt bad about his word choice.“I am not sorry for the things I said,” Davis told Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com. “But I am sorry for the way I said them.”Davis was upset about the way the A’s handled some renovations to the stadium that displaced Raiders season-ticket holders, among other things. But he voiced in feelings in a rather colorful manner (blue), saying “the front office has been real pricks,” and that the A’s had “been really f—ing around with us up there, taking advantage of the situation.”He probably feels the exact same way this morning, as he prepares for his final season in Oakland, after which some more such language might be pointed at him on his way to Las Vegas. The Raiders sent scouts home, and have been rumored to be prepared to make a “surprise pick” at 4 overall. There are a few scenarios where a player like Nick Bosa or Quinnen Williams potentially falls to 4 overall but most likely they should be gone before the Raiders make their selection.Looking at Mayock’s top 10 prospects going back to 2013 it seems he favors size and athletic ability more than anything. If you look at the Buccaneers drafts from 2002-2009, Gruden would frequently take a WR with one of his first picks. So in predicting this “surprise pick” I’ve narrowed it down to a few players.Round 1, Pick 4: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa StateBefore you get too upset, think of the possibilities here. Butler has the potential to become the next Calvin Johnson type receiver in the NFL. At the very least he should pan out similarly to Mike Evans. Both Johnson and Evans were 6’5 225+ pound receivers taken in the top 10 of the NFL draft. Butler is the same size but comes into the NFL even more advanced as a route runner, considering he’s played in an air raid scheme that asked him to line up at every WR position, a skillset Jon Gruden covets. Butler has even been working out with Calvin Johnson this off-season as he prepares for his NFL career. His addition to the already crowded reRound 1 Womens Bo Jackson Jersey , Pick 24: Dalton Risner, OL, Kansas StateIf one player epitomizes a Gruden Grinder in this draft its Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner. Risner started at center, right guard, and right tackle during four years at Kansas State earning All-American honors twice.Noted for his nasty attitude and physical play style,Risner hasn’t given up a sack for the last two seasons at right tackle. Many predictions point to Risner being better suited as a guard in the NFL and this is likely where he’ll latch on with the Raiders if taken. Getting a skilled offensive lineman who can play multiple spots along the line adds value to Risner’s stock.Round 1, Pick 27: Jerry Tillery, DL, Notre DameWith all the top rated edge rushers off the board here, Tillery makes sense for the Raiders to target at the end of round 1. The 6’6 290lb defensive tackle is more of a pass rusher than a traditional run stuffer in fact his pass rush grade per Pro Football Focus was tied with Quinnen Williams among all interior defenders. Tillery has the length and body type to play base defensive end, and he may be suited better there on run downs before sliding inside and adding to the defensive tackle rotation on passing downs. Hurst and Tillery providing push up the middle would make the interior rush something to behold.Round 2, Pick 35: Anthony Nelson, DE, IowaLevi tells me Nelson isn’t going as high as I have him mocked, but this is one player I’d bet on getting drafted higher than the narrative predicts. Nelson first off is huge, standing at 6’7and 270lbs, he has the length that Paul Guenther loves. After his combine performance, Nelson has been compared to Pro-Bowlers from JJ Watt, to Joey Bosa to Chandler Jones in terms of athletic testing. Nelson is a player who can step in right away as a run defender and pass rusher. Nelson isn’t flashy but has the tools and blue collar demeanor that should make him successful in the NFL for the next 8-10 years.Round 4, Pick 106: Germaine Pratt, LB, NC StateRound 4 linebackers are the type of player who usually end up on the roster bubble and special teams. Pratt has a tough scheme change ahead of him in the NFL Antonio Brown Raiders Jersey , only playing linebacker for 2 seasons after converting from safety, the 2018 ACC leader in tackles was asked to play as a hybrid linebacker/pass rusher in a role that simply isn’t used in the NFL. For this reason Pratt could fall to the 4th round, but with his ability to knock ball carriers backwards, nose for the ball, and added value as a blitzer (6 sacks in 2018), Pratt could be one of those late round LBs Guenther has always talked about developing.Round 5, Pick 140: Alexander Mattison, RB, Boise StateMattison is one of the most polarizing runningbacks in this class. Some think he’s the best, some think there’s no way he is able to replicate his success at Boise State in the NFL. The type of plays that Mattison put in his highlight reel are pretty spectacular, weaving through defenses, stepping through arm tackles, and even leaping over defenders, Mattison won’t be denied on his quest to tote the rock to the promise land. Maybe his long speed is lackingRound 7, Pick 218: Iman Marshall DB, USCFew corners put up the type of tackle production that Marshall posted at Southern Cal. Racking up a whopping 218 tackles in 48 games played, Marshall fits the physicality that Guenther seems to be looking for in cornerbacks. There is also discussion if Marshall would be better suited as a free safety in the NFL because his production on the ball (passes defensed and interceptions) doesn’t quite match what NFL teams are looking for on the outside. Having a versatile defensive back in the secondary can never hurt your team and would provide insurance at multiple positions.Round 7, Pick 235: Hunter Renfrow, WR, ClemsonRaiders fans have been clamouring for a true slot receiver for years. Renfrow is not a flashy player but his knack for making a big play in a big moment helped power Clemson to 2 National Championships in 3 years. Renfrow showed he is a highly skilled route runner at the Senior Bowl, putting opposing defensive backs in the spin cycle and uncovering with ease. Size concerns are legitimate and Renfrow’s hands and arms measured amongst the smallest at any position in this draft process. He is a gamer and would compete for a spot in this crowded WR room.

HOUSTON (AP) — Texans second-year general manager Brian Gaine felt the team addressed several areas of need in the draft.“That was one of the emphasis Bradley Roby Jersey , we wanted to increase team speed, team size, team length, team strength,” Gaine said. “We feel we were able to fortify those things through this draft weekend.”In the first two rounds, it was evident the Texans wanted to improve the protection around Deshaun Watson, who was sacked a league-high 62 times last season. Houston drafted two offensive lineman in Tytus Howard (No. 23 overall) and Max Scharping (No. 55 overall) within its first three selections. This is the first time the Texans have spent a first-round pick on an offensive lineman since taking Duane Brown in 2006 with the 26th overall pick. It is also the first time Houston has taken two offensive linemen in the same draft since 2017 when it drafted Julien Davenport and Kyle Fuller.Houston also invested in the secondary Tashaun Gipson Jersey , drafting a pair of cornerbacks in 6-foot-2 Lonnie Johnson Jr. (54th overall) and 5-foot-11 Xavier Crawford (195th overall), who both bring some length.“We’re very excited about this draft class,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “We really feel good about every single guy and their potential contribution to the roster and we’re excited to get started with them.”The Texans will now finish filling additional needs through undrafted free agency with rookie minicamp on the horizon.WHO THEY GOTThe Texans added yet another tight end to the room by drafting Kahale Warring (86th overall) in their final pick of the second round.Warring adds another tight end to the roster. The 6-foot-5, 252-pound player didn’t play football until his final year of high school.University of Texas defensive end Charles Omenihu (161st overall), the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2018, is the first defensive end taken by the Texans since 2017 and will now come in and learn from one of the best.“I think I can learn from J.J. (Watt), especially Zach Fulton Jersey ,” Omenihu said. “Just because we play the same position. Just hand work, how to use my length a little bit better and with Jadeveon (Clowney) he’s played multiple positions with the Texans. Crazy enough I wore No. 7 because of him in high school, wore No. 90 because of him as well. A guy I just watched and I want to be just like him.”SURPRISE MOVEWith their final pick, the Texans took the “12th Man” from Texas A&M. Cullen Gillaspia (220th overall), who was originally a walk-on, wore No. 12 for the Aggies and this past season played fullback for the first time in his college career.Gillaspia is a native of Houston, playing high school football at Katy Taylor Nick Martin Jersey , and attended the Texans local pro day. Gillaspia becomes the first 12th man to get drafted.“Going from a special teams guy to a first-year fullback hearing that call you hope for it, but you don’t necessarily expect it,” said Gillaspia, who was emotional when he received the call while at a family crawfish boil. “You prepare for the best and expect the worst. When I got that call in the seventh round, I couldn’t have been happier. Brian Gaine called me and made me a Texan and this is a dream come true.”HOW THEY DIDThe Texans had a plan entering the draft and seemed to have executed it.Gaine, who didn’t have a first or second-round pick last year, didn’t change how he approached this year’s draft.“Our whole goal for the draft was to honor the process Cullen Gillaspia Houston Texans Jersey ,” Gaine said. “We had a very good balance of best available, mixed with the opportunity to meet team needs.”WHAT’S NEXT?The Texans addressed a lot of needs in this draft. It looks as though Houston has added plenty of depth in the secondary and on the offensive line with the draft and free agency.Houston could look to add some more wide receivers to help DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller and Keke Coutee. Also in the backfield some more help for Lamar Miller and D’Onta Foreman.“We’re trying to do the best job possible to create the most competitive roster possible,” O’Brien said about approaching undrafted free agency. “That’s when you have a good football team. When at every stage of the year you have a very competitive roster. That’s what we’re going to work to do.” It’s two rounds of mock drafting."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Texans StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Texans NewsYahoo Texans Team PageYahoo Texans ReportYahoo Texans Depth ChartYahoo Texans TransactionsYahoo Texans PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕2019 NFL Draft2019 Houston Texans Offseason2019 NFL Mock Draft: Mocking The Draft Has The Texans Selecting...New,20commentsIt’s two rounds of mock drafting. GLENDALE Womens Derek Carr Jersey , Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals had scored a go-ahead touchdown. They had the Oakland Raiders right where they wanted them after three straight incompletions forced the Raiders to punt the ball with 2:50 remaining in Sunday’s game. The Cardinals took possession with Oakland having only one timeout. But two critical penalties cost them dearly, and gave the Raiders just enough time to mount a drive for the winning field goal in a 23-21 win.An unnecessary roughness penalty against Cardinals tight end Jermaine Gresham on second down not only cost Arizona 15 yards, it stopped the game clock. On the very next play, running back David Johnson ran 57 yards for what was sure to be the clinching score, only to have the play called back on a holding call against tight end Ricky Seals-Jones.Two plays later, the Cardinals punted. The Raiders and Carr, given the gift of one more opportunity with 1:53 to play, drove 63 yards and won as the clock expired on Daniel Carlson’s 35-yard field goal.Gresham vehemently protested the call against him, to no avail.“It was just a dumb play by me,” Gresham, a nine-year veteran Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , said after the game. “I turned around and saw my guy on the ground. We’re not coached to that. We’re not taught that. They didn’t bring me in here to do that, and it was stupid. I cost us the game.”Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks said Gresham told him a Raiders player was “doing something at the bottom of the pile.”“Regardless of the situation, we can’t be enticed like that,” Wilks said.Wilks also labeled unacceptable the long completion from Carr to rookie Marcell Ateman with cornerback Bene Benwikere in coverage 32 yards down the sideline to set up Carlson’s winner. The Cardinals led 14-7 in the first half, but trailed 20-14 on the second of two Carlson field goals in the third quarter. Arizona’s defense couldn’t get off the field, as the Raiders chewed up 7 minutes, 39 seconds of clock time leading up to Carlson’s 21-yard kick. The Cardinals took advantage of the Raiders’ decision not to go for a first down on a fourth-and-1 at the Arizona 38 with 7:48. Johnson, who later had a key drop, set up the go-ahead touchdown with a 53-yard run.In a game the two-win Cardinals had to figure was winnable against the previously one-win Raiders, Arizona had victory in its grasp despite two turnovers. But the Cardinals self-destructed in the final minutes.Afterward, there were questions about who was most at fault for such a difficult loss. Wilks Antonio Brown Jersey White , hired in January and 2-8 in a tumultuous first season in Arizona, was asked how comfortable he is with his job status.“I’m just worried about trying to win a football game,” he said. “I have so many other things to worry about right now, I’m not concerned with that right now.” It has come to pass (so to speak) that Derek Carr, in the second game of his sixth NFL season, has taken over as the all-time passing leader in Raiders franchise history.  Darren Waller for 16 yards.Carr came into the season needing just 340 passing yards to overtake Ken Stabler’s Raiders record of 19,078 passing yards.Carr passed for 259 yards in the team’s season opening win over the Broncos, making it a near certainty this week we would be recognizing him for the accomplishment. The former second round pick has been a starter in Oakland from day one and has missed just two starts in five NFL seasons.Stabler too was a second round pick by the Raiders (52 overall) in the 168 draft. He played ten seasons with the Raiders from 1970-79.A Hall of Famer from a very different era, Stabler only once passed for more than 3000 yards in a season – a mark that is commonplace in today’s NFL by even the most marginal starting quarterbacks. Carr has surpassed 3000 yards in each of his five seasons and last season passed 4000 yards for the first time in his career. The last major passing record in Derek Carr’s sights is touchdown passes. He has 123 for his career, which means he needs 28 to surpass Stabler’s franchise record of 150.Follow @LeviDamien

ALLEN PARK Danny Amendola Jersey , Mich. (AP) — Trey Flowers‘ 6-year old daughter has already experienced plenty of success during her father’s NFL career.“She’s been fortunate to be at three Super Bowls. She has known that her daddy played for the Patriots,” Flowers said. “I just kind of hinted it to her: ‘What if daddy is a Lion? Do you like lions?’ “Flowers’ daughter Skyler was apparently a bit skeptical, but the 25-year-old defensive end says her favorite color is blue. So that’s a start. The big question is whether there will be any more Super Bowls in Flowers’ future. The Detroit Lions have never been to one, but they can hope that the three free agents they introduced Thursday will bring them a step closer. The Lions introduced Flowers, cornerback Justin Coleman and tight end Jesse James at their practice facility on Thursday. Detroit needed an edge rusher like Flowers because the oft-injured Ziggy Ansah was on the open market after playing with the Lions on the franchise tag last year.Later Thursday, Detroit announced it had signed offensive lineman Oday Aboushi and safety Andrew Adams.Like a lot of Lions, Flowers and Coleman have ties to the New England Patriots. Flowers had a career-high 7 ½ sacks last season for the Super Bowl champions and 21 over the last three years in New England. The Patriots drafted him in the fourth round out of Arkansas in 2015.Flowers joins a defensive line that got a boost in the middle of last season when Detroit traded for tackle Damon Harrison . Flowers says he hopes he can blend in and be a good teammate.“I think that’s very important — a new guy coming in, to just kind of gain the trust from his teammates and things before he kind of just comes in and acts like he knows it all,” Flowers said.Coleman started his career in New England in 2015, when Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia — the Lions’ current general manager and coach — worked for the Patriots. Coleman became a standout nickel cornerback over the last two seasons in Seattle.Coleman went to Brunswick High School in Georgia, the same school as Detroit cornerback Darius Slay and Lions defensive back Tracy Walker. Slay turned 28 in January. Coleman is 25 and Walker is 24.“I got a couple years with Darius. It was great playing with him,” Coleman said. “We never knew that we were both going to get to this point, but in high school he was one of the best players that was on the field. He kind of just motivated me to get on the field and play a lot more. He kind of helped me along the way, just being the leader that he is. I tried to just compete with him, just so I could get better myself.”The Lions were looking to upgrade their options at tight end a year after releasing Eric Ebron. James had 120 receptions for 1,189 yards and nine touchdowns in four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.“Offensively Trey Flowers Jersey , I wasn’t used the way that I feel like I could be used here. I feel like my ceiling here is going to be much higher than it was in the past,” James said. “I feel like I’m coming here, I’m going to be a key part of this offense. In Pittsburgh, I was a key part, but I think my role here could be greater.”Although James is hopeful this move will be good for his career, he’s leaving his home state. He was born in Pennsylvania and went to Penn State.“It’s a hard place to leave,” James said. “I grew up in Pittsburgh. My dream was to be a Steeler. I got to do that for four years. Didn’t get the job done — never got to bring a Super Bowl to Pittsburgh — but my time there was a success. I’ve gotten a lot better, grew as a football player.”Aboushi spent the 2018 season with the Arizona Cardinals, playing in eight games and making six starts. He’s entering his sixth NFL season.Adams spent the 2018 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in 13 games and making four starts. He played in two seasons for the New York Giants prior to that. When practice ends at UC Irvine and Aaron Donald is done chasing down the Los Angeles Rams' quarterbacks, he immediately starts after a high-energy 4-year-old with the same haircut as his All-Pro dad.A.J. Donald and his 6-year-old sister, Jaeda, are getting their first chance to go to training camp with their father, who missed the Rams' past two camps while holding out in search of a massive new contract.Aaron Donald finally got that six-year, $135 million extension with $87 million guaranteed last season, and he eagerly showed up to his first training camp since 2016 this month to pursue his third straight NFL Defensive Player of the Year award — and little A.J. Damon Harrison Jersey , too.Donald said Jaeda "doesn't remember the last time she was at camp, and my son has never seen camp. So to have them being around and watching me play football, and them getting to run around the field, these are the types of memories that last forever."The Rams have endured plenty of contract drama and high-stakes negotiations over the past few years, but everything is calm this summer. The defending NFC champions have no holdouts or drama in this camp, with the likes of Marcus Peters and Jared Goff eagerly showing up for work to earn their next deals instead of staying away."I feel that you just keep coming and you do what you need to do, and everything will get taken care of, man," said Peters, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback starting the fifth year of his rookie contract. "We've got bigger goals, really. All that other stuff will take care of itself."Donald's presence is the biggest difference for the Rams, and his impact is felt on both sides of the ball.He serves as an example and a teaching resource for his teammates — particularly rookie nose tackle Greg Gaines, who is competing for the starting job to replace Ndamukong Suh.Donald's relentless rushes also force the Rams' offensive line to be at its best. Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen have been tapped for starting jobs after scarcely playing last season, and no challenge in the NFL is much bigger than Donald bearing down at full speed. When Sean McVay was asked how he plans to monitor Donald's workload in his first training camp in three years, the head coach quipped: "Depends on how much he's wrecking practice. If he's really upsetting me by winning a lot, then he'll be standing next to me a lot."McVay is grateful to have Donald and running back Todd Gurley Ricky Jean Francois Jersey , who will work out sparingly until the regular season begins in a bid to keep him fresh. Even if they don't take every practice snap — and Donald has been as busy as anyone on the field — their veteran presence boosts McVay's workouts."The biggest thing is just the way that (Donald) affects his teammates," McVay said. "Having him here, what that represents when he turns it up. You see why the production is what it is, and why he's the special player that he is."Donald's absence from camp for the past two years clearly didn't affect him when the Rams finally reached the games that count, as his All-Pro selections and individual trophies attest.Yet Donald hopes the early start to his season will translate into quicker starts overall. He had just one sack in the first three games during the past two seasons before going on to rack up spectacular totals, including an NFL-best 20½ sacks last season — a record for an interior lineman."Being here and getting myself in football shape and working my moves, hopefully it won't take me four games to get going this year," Donald said. "I think it's going to be a plus for me getting here, getting going right away. If anything, I should be better."NOTES: Donald and most of the Rams' veterans sat out of practice Monday as part of McVay's schedule to keep his older players rested. Todd Gurley participated in workouts after sitting out Sunday, but the running back is likely to sit out Tuesday when the Rams wear full pads for the first time. ... With LT Andrew Whitworth sitting out, Noteboom moved from left guard to left tackle with the first-team offense, and Jamil Demby took Noteboom's regular spot at guard. ... The Rams have Wednesday off before the first of two joint practices with the Chargers on Thursday.

We’re going to kick their ass. They’re going to get our best this week.’’We’re used to seeing Miller pay his respects to Broncos’ opponents most weeks, but he has clearly had enough of that. He and rookieBradley Chubb combined for 4.5 sacks on Sunday and if they can fix their run defense issues that suddenly went from a mild concern to historically bad in a matter of weeks, then they might be able to turn things around.Head Coach Vance Joseph is 1-9 in road games since being hired in 2017, so its not like this will be a gimmie for Miller and that defense. KANSAS CITY Drew Sample Jersey 2019 , Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes bobbled the snap, picked the ball off the turf and threw a laser to Tyreek Hill in the corner of the end zone, giving the Kansas City Chiefs another touchdown on a night full of them.Even the young quarterback’s mistakes rarely end up awry. The Chiefs’ record-setting quarterback wound up throwing for 358 yards and four touchdowns Sunday night, Kareem Hunt totaled three scores and Kansas City rebounded from a last-second loss in New England by throttling the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10 before a boisterous crowd at Arrowhead Stadium.“I mean, you always think you’re going to have success,” said Mahomes, whose 22 touchdown passes in his first eight career games set an NFL record, “but I didn’t think it would happen this much.”Mahomes was 28 of 39 with his only costly mistake an underthrown interception, though the Chiefs (6-1) were already so far ahead of Cincinnati (4-3) by that point it didn’t really matter. He spread the wealth, too, connecting with eight targets. Hill had seven catches for 68 yards and a touchdown Color Rush Drew Sample Jersey , Travis Kelce had five catches for 95 yards, and Demetrius Harris hauled in the other TD catch as the Chiefs piled up 551 yards total offense.“We’re just rolling,” Harris said. “We’re unstoppable when it’s clicking like that.”Meanwhile, the Bengals’ Andy Dalton was held to just 148 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception by the NFL’s worst defense. Joe Mixon managed only 50 yards rushing.“We had a lot of plays,” Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said, “where we’ve got to do better.”The Chiefs, wearing their all-red uniforms for the primetime matchup, flexed some rare defensive muscle to open the game, creating a three-and-out for their first forced punt in 17 possessions.Mahomes and Hunt immediately went to work. With their quarterback shredding the Bengals’ depleted backfield, and Hunt making the rest of the defense look downright foolish, the Chiefs marched 95 yards for a score. Hunt capped it with a short TD grab Cheap Drew Sample Jersey , but it was his play immediately before that set social media ablaze.Hunt spun loose from a clutch of Bengals, then hurdled safety Jessie Bates on a 21-yard run .“That was just one of those to get the team going,” Hunt said. “You just got to want it. You need touchdowns instead of threes in the red zone. We learned that last week.”Mahomes connected with Hunt again early in the second quarter, when the Pro Bowl running back left Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict grasping at air on his way to the end zone. And he answered a TD toss by Dalton with one to Harris as the Chiefs took a 24-7 lead into halftime.Run the ball and protect the lead? Nah.Mahomes opened the second half by hitting Sammy Watkins for 50 yards. And six plays later, Hunt punched it in from a couple yards out for his third touchdown and first on the ground.Ron Parker’s pick-6 on the ensuing play gave Kansas City two TDs in 9 seconds, and Mahomes connected with Hill — just after the speedster dropped a touchdown catch — to make it 45-10 in the fourth.By that point, it was hard to tell what was more entertaining — the Chiefs’ offense or their crazy touchdown celebrations — because the reality is there were plenty of both.Harris celebrated his score by jumping into a camera well and using it as a foxhole while chucking the football as if it were a grenade. Hill fainted at the foot of an official and got CPR from offensive lineman Eric Fisher after his score, then reeled off a backflip before sprinting to the sideline. The Bengals certainly weren’t enjoying it. They got dinged for a pair of personal fouls down the stretch, including a late helmet-to-helmet hit on Hunt by safety Shawn Williams.“A lot of season left,” Dalton said. “Everything’s in front of us. It’s just one game.”QUOTABLE“That was a great feeling, man Drew Sample Jersey Womens ,” Parker said after his interception return for a touchdown. “That’s what I was waiting on my whole career. It was crazy. My daughter asked before the game like, ‘Daddy, how come you don’t score touchdowns?’ So that one was for her.”STATS AND STREAKSThe Bengals are 3-16 on Sunday night, losing nine straight. … The Bengals’ A.J. This year, it was Jim Turner.Once it was known that Zac Taylor would take over as head coach, news of Pollack’s departure soon followed. As it turns out, it was Taylor’s call to oust Pollack, and the path for Taylor to hire Turner became clear. Most of the coaches Taylor has hired are connected to him, and Turner is the prime example. It took him 13 years and eight different jobs before he ended up back at his alma mater Boston College, and became an established offensive line coach by then.He leaped from Boston College to Texas A&M when Mike Sherman took over as head coach and Taylor was brought on as a graduate assistant. The trio then left together in 2012 for Miami and the NFL, though Sherman and Turner only lasted two years with the Dolphins while Taylor stayed through 2015. Turner was let go because of the Jonathan Martin bullying scandal that NFL investigator Ted Wells found Turner not only allowed, but took part in.Turner had trouble finding work in the aftermath of the scandal, but Taylor attempted to hire him as the running backs coach at the University of Cincinnati in 2016. Turner accepted the position, but chose to go back to Texas A&M instead to become an offensive line coach again. Before his second stint began there, he was involved in another scandal where he inputted inappropriate jokes in a football clinic for women. The incident resulted in a suspension for Turner, but he remained with the school through the 2018 season.Experience coaching with Taylor and baggage is what Turner brings to Cincinnati, now it’s up to him to coach up an offensive line that’s still finding itself.

God save us from enemies that call us friends" - Woman finds out that her best friend of over 25 years married her husband

A woman has just received the shock of her life having discovered that her husband recently got married to her best friend of over 25 years.

A Facebook user named Christine Aluyi, who has known both women for decades, took to Facebook to share the shocking story.

Christine revealed that two women named Rukevwe and Cordelia have been friends for over 25 years. Rukevwe got married and later divorced. She eventually had a child after her divorce but didn't remarry. As for Cordelia, she was married and her marriage seemed happy. Her home in Warri was open to Rukevwe.

10 years ago, Cordelia and her husband moved to the UK and Rukevwe was welcomed whenever she comes to visit them in the UK.

The women also had another friend named Bawo but she was married and mostly focused on her own family.

In July this year, Cordelia's husband started pressuring her for a divorce. She granted his wish and moved on with her life.

She later planned a trip to Nigeria and asked to stay at her best friend Rukevwe's home in Nigeria. But Rukevwe kept avoiding her and claimed she wouldn't be around.

Cordelia came to Nigeria all the same and discovered, to her shock, that Rukevwe was avoiding her because she has married Cordelia's husband. Apparently, Rukevwe was the one who encouraged Cordelia's husband to seek a divorce from her best friend and marry her.

"Betrayal of the century. God save us from enemies that call us friends," Christine said as she shared the story.

Read the shocking story as narrated by Christine Aluyi below.

Quote:The Face of a Betrayer....
I don't know if I am dreaming or if this is true, Bawo I will need you to tell me that it is not a dream.... I cannot believe this. Rukevwe, you? You of all people? So all these tens of years that you have been acting like Cordelia Ufuoma Rowayinor Ovakporae 's best friend and sister, you have been hating her? You hated her so much that you pulled the trigger. It would have been better, if you had shot her. Rukevwe, why? Of all the men in the world, it is Cordy's husband that you can marry. Cordy your best friend and sister?
Friends, pls forgive my ranting this morning, I just got the rudest shock of my life now. Maybe I am dreaming o. My former neighbour and friend, Cordilia Rowayinor on the right in the two photos and wearing red hat, woke me up with this heartbreaking news, that Rukevwe, on the left in the two photos, wearing white hat, whom I have always known to be her bestie just married her husband. Rukevwe and Bawo were the closest friends she has had for over 25yrs since I knew them. They are all younger than me, so I was not in their click of friends but I am more of a big sister to Cordy.
Cordy, her husband and I and my husband used to live in the same estate in Warri . We had our children in that estate until they relocated abroad for about 10yrs now and I moved out. Rukevwe has been part of her life. She was married briefly and divorced and later had a child for a man she was dating before she got married. All through, she has been having a very good relationship with Cordy and Cordy has invited her to spend time with her in the UK a couple of times. Rukevwe and Bawo are the friends who became sisters to Cordy. Since, Bawo got married, her marriage keeps her occupied, but the close friendship still exists. Rukevwe is the free one who was available until now.
Though, Cordy and her husband has been having a rough time, it never got to asking for divorce. He pestered her for divorce in July this year, which she granted unknowing to her, that it was to enable him marry her best friend and supposed sister. Apparently, it was Rukevwe who was pestering him to divorce her.
Cordy came to Nigeria for a marriage ceremony. She would have put up with Rukevwe, but Rukevwe told her she was out of town to prevent her from going to her house. Only for her to find out that, in the month of July when her husband was pestering her for divorce, he came to Nigeria to marry Rukevwe.
This is a very big blow to Cordilia cos it never crossed her mind that even if her husband wants another wife, it would be her best friend. A friend she has shared all her life with. Rukevwe gave Cordy the deepest cut, the biggest heartbreak.
Who knows when he started sleeping with her? Probably, the relationship has been on all the while they were in Warri before they relocated abroad and the times Rukevwe went to visit them in the UK, he has been having it out with her when Cordy went on night duty. Na only God know.
This is sleeping with the enemy part 2. I cannot comprehend this. I still want to believe that the call Cordilia put through to me this morning was in a dream. I am looking forward to waking up from it.
Cordy, it is well. You will recover from the shock. God will strengthen you and give you reason to be happy that both of them have left your life. Thank God that in her desperation to marry your husband, she didn't poison you or kill you through other means, she only asked him to divorce you. We should be thanking God for your life.
Rukevwe, it is only God that can judge and reward you. I hear you people want to relocate to Canada. Know that God is omnipresent.
This is a true life movie and it has just been acted.
I am Christine Aluyi, a living witness to this friendship.

Can you believe that I will be impeached today. Say a prayer" panicked Donald Trump tweets

President Donald Trump expressed disbelief today before the House was set to formally impeach him for his conduct involving Ukraine.

"Can you believe that I will be impeached today by the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats, AND I DID NOTHING WRONG! A terrible Thing. Read the Transcripts. This should never happen to another President again. Say a PRAYER!" Trump wrote on Twitter.

The House is set to vote Wednesday on two articles of impeachment against Trump. One article charges Trump with abusing his power for pushing Ukraine to announce investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden and Democrats and for withholding nearly $400 million in military aid to the country as well as an official White House meeting with Zelenskiy as he pursued those probes. The other article charges Trump with obstruction of Congress for stonewalling impeachment investigators examining his conduct.

The House is expected to pass both articles. Hours before the House was set to formally impeach him, he took to Twitter to tweet about it.

Herdsmen Hoist Flag In Orin-Ekiti, Near Fayemi’s Hometown

Quote:Some suspected herdsmen have reportedly taken over some areas covering about 8km in Orin-Ekiti, Ido/Osi local government area of Ekiti State near Governor Kayode Fayemi’s hometown, Isan-Ekiti.

The Nation gathered that the herders hoisted a red flag at the ‘annexed’ farmlands where they warned farmers to keep off or face death.

Residents told journalist on Wednesday during a protest that the herders occupied and destroyed crops planted on the abandoned 2500 acres of land at Orin Farm settlement.

The protesters, comprising old and young men and women, chanted derisive songs against the invaders with placards bearing their thoughts and agitations including ‘What is our sin?’; ‘Enough is Enough’; ‘Save Orin Ekiti from herdsmen invasion’; ‘We are tired of molestation by herdsmen’; ‘Government must relocate Fulani Herdsmen’, among others.

While addressing journalists, the Onikare of Orin-Ekiti, Chief Bamidele Fasuyi, alleged one Emmanuel Ilori had been allegedly killed by suspected herders while the Tiv people farming in the town were chased away.

He regretted that the suspected herdsmen, had destroyed crops worth over N50million belonging to 70 farmers.

“What they wanted is to invade our land and chase us away. They even killed one of our able bodied men this year. They are imposing some curfew in this town, because our youths can’t go to farm freely and government has not been doing something. Several hectares of land had been destroyed. They used to operate at night with AK 47 rifle.

“Over 70 farmers were affected in our record. Crops worth N50 million have been ravaged . They ate up their products like Coco yam, yam, cassava and others and made them to incur debts.

“We appeal to government to use the 2500 acres of land for farming. The state and federal government as well as private bodies should come to our aid. There were facilities like electricity, buildings and equipment that can aid farming if they want to invest “.

A youth leader, Mr. Omotoso Mathew Kayode, alleged that the suspected herders had hoisted a flag at the farm settlement, where they warned the farmers to keep off or face death.

“They wrote keep off with a picture of a cattle rearer on the flag. This is a serious threat. The police , NSCDC and soldiers removed the flag last year but they had hoisted another one.

“We used to do night guard to ward off attack, because the police had found it difficult to arrest them. Our graduates who have no jobs were going into farming but they are suffering losses because of destruction by cows.

“They must vacate the place. Governor Kayode Fayemi must relocate them. From our findings, they used to enter into this place from neighbouring towns like Isan, Ayede and Ido and we are suspecting conspiracy .There may be famine in the land with the way things are going .

“We are not compromising our stand on this relocation. Chief Obafemi Awolowo-led government in the old Western region acquired the land in 1958 for arable farming and not for cattle ranching”.

Omotoso, however, appealed to Fayemi to assist them in getting back their farmland and compensate the farmers.

He further urged the state government to provide adequate security in the community, noting residents could no longer sleep with two eyes closed as they all live in trepidation.

The Oniwaro of Orin, Chief Mathew Oke, said Fayemi should comply with his promise to build a police station in the town and rejuvenate the farm settlement to ward off herdsmen invasion in the area.

Supreme court upholds elections of Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state

The Supreme Court today Wednesday December 18th, affirmed the election of Nasir El-Rufai as Kaduna State governor.

In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Centus Nweze, the apex court ruled that the appeal filed by Mr Isa Ashiru of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) challenging El-Rufai's election is lacking in merit and it is therefore dismissed.  Ashiru had asked the court to set aside the decisions of the Court of Appeal and the Kaduna State tribunal which both affirmed El-Rufai’s elections. El-Rufai had been declared winner of the Kaduna state governorship elections held on March 9th with 1, 045, 427 votes, defeating Mr Ashiru with over 200,000 votes.

In a related development, the Supreme court today also affirmed the election of Seyin Makinde as governor of Oyo state. The apex court ruled that Makinde was validly elected as the governor of the state in the last general election.  The court dismissed the appeal of Adelabu, the APC candidate in the election which held in March this year.

The Supreme Court also upheld the election of Nasarawa state governor Abdullahi Sule. In a judgement delievered this morning, the apex court dismissed the appeal of David Ombugadu and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the March 9th 2019 victory of Sule. According to the judges led by Justice Mary Peter-Odili, the petition filed by Ombugadu lacked merit.

Buhari, Osinbajo To Spend N9.06bn On Food, Travel, Cars, Others in 2020 Budget
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-18-2019, 03:56 PM - Replies (1)

Quote:The National Assembly has retained the N3. 327 billion which the executive proposed as travel expenses for President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the federal government’s 2020 budget.

The budget as passed by the legislators and signed into law by President Buhari, yesterday, indicated that the President would spend a total of N2. 526 billion on local and international travels, while Vice President Osinbajo was allocated N801 .035 million.

A breakdown showed that President Buhari would spend N1.751 billion travelling across the globe, while N775.602 million had been earmarked for his local travel.

The Vice President was allocated N517.060 million for international travel; while he would be expected to spend N 283. 974 million travelling within the country.

President Buhari would spend about N98. 306 million on food stuff and catering materials; while the VP was allocated N50. 888 million for the same purpose.

The State House was earmarked a total capital expenditure of N4.806 billion, of which about N474 million would be spent on the purchase of motor vehicles.

General maintenance services were allocated about NN416 million and another N380.534 million for materials and supplies; while N476 . 869 million would be spent on utilities, such as electricity, water, internet and sewage.

N996. 908 million would go to miscellaneous expenditure, with honorarium and sitting allowances taking the bulk of N478. 313 million. Welfare packages were allocated N240.730 million.

Conservation upgrade of the Villa ranch and construction of wildlife conservation capture was allocated N12.945 million.

Frivolous items in FG 2020 budget

The federal government budget is replete with items which monitoring would literally be impossible, an indication that a lot of items would be impossible to track, especially by the media, Civil Society Organisations and, indeed, the public.

For instance, under the Ministry of Works and Housing, budget item with code ERGP 12142038, entitled “Payment for other on-going projects and retention,” was allocated N571. 6 million. The affected projects and their locations were not mentioned.

Similarly, item ERGP 12142047 Routine intervention on the road network in the 36 states by Federal Controllers of Works was allocated N1. 039 billion; while ERGP 12142022 was allocated N886 million. The item is for intervention on internal roads of tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Construction of drainages across

Malumfashi/Kafur Federal Constituency, Kastina, which was allocated the sum of N100 million, had no specific site addresses.

Similarly, construction of culverts across Yobe North senatorial district which was allocated N300 million, had no accompanying addresses.

Other strange line items in the Ministry of Works and Housing budget included construction of Community Centres in 6 LGAS of Yobe North, allocated N420 million; provision of starter packs economic empowerment materials across the federation, with emphasis on hunger and learning, allocated N1 billion; while provision and installation of sign and signages across 6 geopolitical zones was allocated N500 million.

The ministry budgeted N2. 8 billion for solar boreholes, which is the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources; N5. 962 billion for settlement of MGDs, SGDs and direct mandate liabilities; as well as another N952. 280 billion for provision of Maternity Centres which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Health .

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday signed the 2020 Appropriation Bill of N10.594 trillion into law.

The signing ceremony witnessed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Dr.Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of State, Budget and others, took place at the President’s office, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This is even as the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, said the federal government would depend on borrowing and Production Sharing Contract, PSC, to finance the 2020 budget.

In his speech at the ceremony, President Buhari commended the leadership of the National Assembly for passing the budget before year end, saying that he planned to send a borrowing plan bill for passage by the parliament.

The 2020 Budget passed by the National Assembly provides for aggregate expenditures of N10.594 trillion, an increase of N263.95 billion over what the executive proposed when it was submitted in October 2019.

President Buhari said he has examined the adjustments and might revert to the National Assembly with a request for virement or other relevant amendments.

The President said: “I am very pleased that the National Assembly worked uncommonly long hours in the interest of our people and the national economy to ensure detailed legislative review and passage of the budget within two months.

“This patriotic zeal adopted by the Ninth National Assembly has restored our budget cycle to a predictable January to December fiscal year. Furthermore, in the twenty years since the return to civilian democracy, this will be just the fourth time that the federal budget was passed before the end of the previous year, and this is the earliest.

“The passage of the Finance Bill, which I am told will be done in the coming days, will also be a landmark achievement worthy of recognition, being the first time this has been done in the last twenty years.

“We look forward to receiving this bill shortly for Presidential assent. Once passed into law, the Finance Bill will support funding and implementation of the 2020 Budget. We shall sustain this tradition by ensuring that subsequent budgets are also accompanied by a Finance Bill.”

He thanked the Ninth National Assembly for supporting important legislation, such as the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract Amendment Act and the 2019 Finance Bill. According to him, these laws are vital to the successful implementation of the 2020 Budget.

“I am aware of the regular high-level discussions that took place, between senior officials of the Executive and the Legislature during this period. I commend this renewed partnership, the mutual understanding as well as collaboration between these two arms of government.

“Now, we are well positioned to effectively implement the budget and deliver our promises to Nigerians. Businesses will also benefit as they are now in a position to plan more effectively. We have to sustain this harmonious working relationship. I expect that, going forward, this will be the norm.

“I have directed that efforts be made to ensure the presentation of the 2021 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly in September 2020. I am confident that all Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies will cooperate with the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning to keep to this timeline.

“I will work with the Ninth National Assembly to give effect to the constitutional, legislative and other actions that may be necessary to address the various challenges currently associated with our federal budgeting process, including the enactment of an Organic Budget Bill.”

Recall that sometime in November, baby Gold Kolawole was declared missing in the church. He had gone to the church with his mother who dropped him off at the children's department in the church but when she returned to pick him up after the close of church, he was nowhere to be found. The church workers were also unable to give her an explanation as to his whereabouts.

Alfa Babatunde, the founder of the church was arrested following the incident, and has been in the custody of the DSS.

This morning, the youths acting on rumors that the corpse of the child was allegedly exhumed from the altar, besieged the church and set it on fire.

Reps reject Bill on six-year single tenure for President, governors

•Atiku unhappy with lawmakers
December 18, 2019

The House of Representatives on Tuesday rejected a Bill seeking to amend the 1999 Constitution to accommodate a six-year single tenure for the President and governors in the future.

The Bill, sponsored by John Dyegh (APC, Benue),  also seeks a six-year multiple tenure for federal and state legislators.

When the Bill was presented Tuesday for second reading, the House became rowdy as members started shouting “put the question, put the question” immediately Deputy Speaker Ahmed Idris Wase, who presided over the House, read out the Bill.

Some members saw the Bill as a third term ploy for the President.

Dyegh’s attempts to get his colleagues to support the second reading failed.

House Leader Peter Akpatason informed the House that the President had told the nation that he was not interested in another tenure, after his second, adding that the wishes of the President should be respected.

Sergius Oguns (PDP, Edo), who was the only supporters of the Bill, said it was meant to curtail huge spending on elections for second term.

He said: “If the Executive will be honest to tell us what they spend in search of second term, you will be shocked. The Bill wants to address that. When you don’t work for the people, your party will lose that state.”

Archibong Okon (PDP, Akwa Ibom) said the House should be concerned about how to make the electoral process better.

Yusuf Gagdi (APC, Plateau) said it was important for the House to gauge the mood of the nation before taking any step towards giving governors and the President a six-year single tenure.

Haruna Isa Dederi (APC, Kano) argued that after every four years, there is an opportunity for the electorate to appraise the performance of their elected leaders and decide whether to return them or not.

Minority Leader Ndudi Elumelu also opposed the Bill.

After the debate, the House unanimously voted against it.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar expressed displeasure at the speed with which the House yesterday rejected the six-year single term Bill

In a statement in Abuja by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, the former Vice-President said: “In view of the challenges facing our current democratic order, especially the culture of rigging that subverts the will of the people, a six-year single term would have ended such untoward practices in our electoral process.

“The desperation for second term by the incumbents is the main reason they go for broke and set the rules book on fire, thereby making free and fair elections impossible by legitimising rigging at the expense of their challengers that have no access to public funds.”

“A situation where the incumbents deploy more public resources to their second term projects than using the funds for people’s welfare encourages massive rigging that undermines electoral integrity.

“Six-year single term would remove such desperation and enable the incumbents concentrate on the job for which they were elected in the first place.

“Eight-year term of office rewards incompetence because even incumbents that have failed would use their access to public funds to return to power by fair or foul means.

“I don’t agree with the logic that eight years would give elected leaders better opportunity to fulfil their

campaign promises. An inherently incompetent incumbent will perform below average even if you give him/her 20 years in office or give him or her $20 billion dollars”.

According to him, it is not how long a man spends in office, but how well he is adequately prepared for the job.

He further argued that the desperation for second term is not necessarily driven by patriotism or the passion for service, but by the obsession with the greed for power for its own sake.

“Second term obsession rewards incompetence by allowing failed incumbents to be reelected regardless of their performance record. It also denies political parties the opportunity to replace failed incumbents with better candidates within the parties in the name of right of first refusal”.

The former Vice- President noted that the rejection of the six-year single term was a mistake because little attention was paid to its merits, adding that eight years tenure of four years each sacrifices merit because the incumbents are automatically entitled to re-election regardless of their performance records.

Buhari-led government descending Nigeria into State Police—-Ohanaeze

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has berated the invasion of The Sun Newspapers office by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

DAILY POST had reported that armed policemen and officials of the EFCC, on Saturday stormed The Sun Lagos headquarters, marking the building “EFCC, keep off”.

The EFCC had in a statement issued after the operation, attributed their actions to the recent judgement delivered against Slok Nigeria Limited by the Lagos state High Court.
The Sun however faulted the claim by EFCC, saying the newspaper was not a party to the case of EFCC vs. Orji Kalu & 2 others, wondering why its premises should then be marked.

Reacting to the development in a statement sent to Igbere TV, President-General of Ohaneze, Chief John Nwodo, said Nigeria was gradually turning into a police state.

But, reacting in a telephone interview on Wednesday, Nwodo faulted the EFCC for its action, saying Sun Newspaper was not joined in the suit involving Senator Orji Kalu.

He said, “EFCC must make a distinction between private liability and corporate liability. Sun Newspapers was not mentioned in the court judgement against Orji Kalu. The sealing of Sun newspapers must be explained otherwise we are descending into a police state”.

Sad! Groom beaten to death at his wedding reception after two uninvited men showed up

Friends and family members are mourning the death of a 30-year-old California man who was killed at his wedding reception just hours after he exchanged wedding vows with his wife.

It was reported that two uninvited brothers came to the newlyweds' reception over the weekend and beat the groom to death with baseball bats.

The Groom, Joe Melgoza, 30, suffered from a blunt-force trauma to the head after he was attacked across the street from the reception venue in Chino, California, at around 2.20am on Sunday.  He was rushed to Chino Valley Medical Center, where he died.

Police have identified the suspects in the groom's brutal killing as brothers Rony Aristides Castaneda Ramirez, 28, and 19-year-old Josue Daniel Castaneda Ramirez.

According to the Chino Police Department, the siblings did not know Melgoza, but lived not far from the home of his wife's family in the 13200 block of 17th Street where the wedding reception was being held, and showed up at the celebration uninvited, reported KTLA5.

The wedding crashers allegedly got into a fight with some of the guests and were asked to leave, which they did, only to return a short time later armed with baseball bats, according to Melgoza's brother Andy Velasquez.

Velasquez told NBC Los Angeles through sobs that his brother tried to confront the 'cowards,' who then pulled him away and killed him.

My brother did not deserve to die like that, he was a good man, he was a solid man,' Velasquez said, while comforted by his two surviving brothers and a sister. 'My brother was protecting his family. They came and they murdered him.'

Joe Melgoza is survived by his wife of just a few hours, Esther Bustamante Melgoza, and his 11-year-old daughter.

I can’t sit and watch Buhari squander our children’s future with his $29.6bn loan request - Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Buhari's $29.6 billion loan request which he described as irresponsible.

The Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections alleged that Buhari was trying to ruin the future of Nigerians with the loan request which Senate President Ahmad Lawan said will be approved despite its rejection in the 8th senate.

Atiku who recalled how he and former President Olusegun Obasanjo worked to clear Nigeria’s foreign debt after the return of democracy in 1999, affirmed that Nigeria's problem is not the lack of money but the inability of Nigerians to make the right leadership decisions.

He said;

Quote:“The fact that Nigeria currently budgets more money for debt servicing (?2.7 trillion), than we do on capital expenditure (?2.4 trillion) is already an indicator that we have borrowed more money than we can afford to borrow. And the thing is that debt servicing is not debt repayment. Debt servicing just means that we are paying the barest minimum allowable by our creditors.
“And while spending 50% of our current revenue on debt servicing, this administration wants to take further loans of $29.6 billion! To say that this is irresponsible is itself an understatement.
“President Olusegun Obasanjo and I paid off this nation’s debt, and I will not stand idly by and watch while Nigeria is plunged into second slavery by those who only know how to reap where they have not sown.”

Atiku also pointed out a way the Buhari-led administration can get the loan they seek for without neccesarily plunging the nation into debt. He disclosed that deploying Saudi Arabia’s ARAMCO strategy to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will generate the loan and also increase foreign direct investment.

He added;

Quote:“In my economic blueprint, I said that rather than turn in regular losses (which it has consistently been doing), the best thing to do with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is to reform it. Of course, the administration’s paid propagandists went into overdrive, accusing me of planning to sell the NNPC to my friends.
“But just last week, Saudi Arabia’s ARAMCO, the most profitable company in the world, took that route and almost broke the global stock market with the most successful initial IPOs in world history, bar none. Ironically, Saudi Aramco raised $29.4 billion via this IPO. Just the amount this administration wants to borrow.
“That could have been Nigeria’s story, but for our failure of leadership. By reforming the NNPC, Nigeria can raise the $29.6 billion the Buhari regime wants to borrow, and we will raise the money without going into debt.”

He also called on Nigerian youths to speak up against the loan request by an administration without vision. Atiku wrote;

Quote:"Nigerian youths should identify the Senator representing their senatorial zones and write to them, urging them to vote against this request.
“I was part of a team that paid off Nigeria’s entire foreign debt. I, therefore, cannot sit and watch an administration without vision squander our children’s future by taking and wasting loans that they do not even have the capacity to utilise properly,” he wrote.
“Our youth must have something better to inherit from us than unsustainable debt fuelled by insatiable greed. That is why I call on the Senate of the National Assembly to show loyalty to Nigeria and reconsider its decision with regards to approving Buhari’s $29.6 billion loan request.”

Eight members of a local music group in Kebbi State were physically assaulted, following an alleged order from Governor Bagudu's Personal Assistant, Faruku Musa Yaro popularly known as Enabo.

They alleged victims are Kabiru Arzila, Musa Alle, Ayuba Ibrahim, Shamsu Attahiru, Bello Aljannare, Otono and others.

According to Sahara Reporters, the musicians were said to have incurred the wrath of the governor's aide after using satirical songs to criticise the administration of Gov. Bagudu.

One of the musicians, Arzila, reported that they were picked up at Abacha Hotel around 3:30am on Monday by ten "hoodlums" who broke the door and took them to the residence of Faruku Musa.

He admitted that they criticized the government through their songs because they felt it was their obligation as citizens of the state to condemn whatever is not right.
"It is true that we have criticised the government; as musicians of Kebbi State origin, we owe our people a duty to criticise bad governance and that's exactly what we did in one of our songs''  he told Sahara Reporters.
"We couldn't keep quiet while Governor Bagudu continues to ruin our state through bad governance.
"But we never believed they could resort to violence.
"We were at Abacha Hotel when some hoodlums came and broke the door and took us to the residence of Faruku Musa.
"In his living room, he ordered some hefty men to beat us until we disclosed who sponsored us to criticise the governor with our songs.
"In fact, he pulled out an AK47 rifle threatening to kill Bello Aljanare.
"Thereafter, he warned us never to malign either the governor or any official of the Kebbi State Government before we were released."

The victims are currently undergoing medical attention and treatment at the hospital.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 18TH DECEMBER.

REMAIN HUMBLE

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted (Luke 14:11).

The Scriptures show us examples of many who accomplished extraordinary feats, rose to kingly positions, and went from obscurity to limelight when they were yet humble.

Sadly, some of these who were elevated to such regal positions became haughty, arrogant, and proud; they became “big” in their own eyes, and were abased by God. The story of King Saul is a ready case in point Saul was given the grace of leadership and anointed as king over Israel.

This happened “when he was little in his own sight,” according to the Bible (1 Samuel 15:17). Soon after, he went against spiritual instructions: he offered a burnt offering, against God’s commandment (1 Samuel 13:9-11). At another instance, he wouldn’t completely destroy the Amalekites as the Lord expressly instructed (1 Samuel 15:1-11). As a result of his pride, he was rejected by God from being king over Israel (1 Samuel 15:26). Sad!

But look at Jesus! Even though He knew who He was—the blessed, Sovereign (Ruler), the King of kings and the Lord of lords—He was humble. Luke 4:16-21 shows when He came to Nazareth where He had been brought up, He went into the synagogue as His custom was on the Sabbath day, and He stood up to read from the Holy Scrolls. He didn’t yell at the priest,

“Look, the King of kings is here!” The Lord simply got up and read as He was asked. And when He was done reading, “…He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down…” (Luke 4:20 NKJV). What a show of humility!

If you’re a leader or pastor, for example, was there a time when it was such a great honour for you to be asked to speak before a congregation? Or have you suddenly become so big in your own eyes that you get offended if you aren’t called upon?

1 Peter 5:5 says, “…be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” True humility is submitting yourself to the authority, influence, and impact of God’s Word and His instructions. When you do, you’ll receive more grace, wherein lies the power for promotion, increase, and supernatural progress.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m submitted to the lordship, authority, and influence of your Word, in all humility. Therefore, I enjoy the effects of your superabundant grace, which causes me to walk in promotion, excellence, victory and dominion, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
