19 Fulani herdsmen have been confirmed dead after engaging in a gunfight with Boko Haram terrorists targeting their cattle outside Fuhe Village near Ngala, close to the border with Cameroon. 
 
Anti-jihadist militia leader, Umar Kachalla told AFP that they brought corpse of the late herdsmen to the police. 
 
Kachalla said; 
 

Quote:“The insurgents killed 19 of the herdsmen in the fight. The herdsmen were subdued by the better-armed Boko Haram gunmen."

British father, 50, shot dead by armed robbers outside a five-star hotel in Argentina (Photos)






The British father shot dead by armed robbers who also wounded his stepson outside a five-star hotel in Argentina has been identified as Matthew Charles Gibbard, 50.
 
He was gunned down by motorbike-riding thugs in an ambush in Buenos Aires on the morning of Saturday, December 14th. His stepson Stefan Joshua Zone, 28, was shot in the leg after the pair refused to hand over their luggage and tried to fight off the robbers outside the Faena Art Hotel.  
 
CCTV footage shows one of the crooks flying off the motorcycle to tackle one of the Britons to the ground, before the other man, believed to be Mr Gibbard, bravely rushes in to kick an assailant. There is a ferocious struggle for their bags before shots are fired by an attacker with a pistol. 
 

 
According to local media reports, a bullet fatally passed through Mr Gibbard's right armpit and possibly penetrated his lung. Meanwhile, Mr Zone was rushed to hospital and remains in a serious condition after he was shot in the thigh.
 
Gibbard was head of retirement homes company Tingdene which has an annual turnover of £20million. He is married to 52-year-old Suzanne and the family home is in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

Man arrested for beating Ikorodu ''Actor'' to death (photo)






The Lagos state police command has arrested one Amos Ekuma in connection with the alleged murder of a dry cleaner, popularly known as ‘Actor’ in Ikorodu, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
 
A statement released by Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, said on  Saturday at about 2.00pm, Ekuma of No 59 Ajipon Street, Ohio, Ogun State, submitted himself to the Police in Ikorodu that he was in his shop the previous day at about 7.00pm along Sabo road by Kokoro Abu, Ikorodu, when one dry cleaner beside his shop, popularly known as Actor attacked him with iron rod as a result of an argument that ensued between them earlier in the day that was resolved by neighbours.
 
Ekuma reportedly pushed the said actor, who fell down and was rushed to Ikorodu General Hospital for treatment but died while on admission.
 
Elkana said the corpse was deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

‘We’re not a party to Orji Kalu’s case’ - Sun Newspaper kicks against EFCC’s move to seal its building






The management of The Sun newspaper has kicked against the marking of its corporate office in Lagos for seizure by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).  
 
EFCC on Saturday, December 14th had marked properties belonging to Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia state governor. Muhammed Idris, a judge of the federal high court in Ikoyi, sentenced the former governor to 12 years in prison for diverting N7 billion from the coffers of Abia state.  
 
In a statement, the company stated that it is not a party to the case instituted against Kalu and Slok Nigeria Limited. The company noted that it is a limited liability company with its shares owned by various individuals apart from Kalu.

Quote:“We do not understand the legal basis for this EFCC action. It is on record that there is a pending appeal at the Supreme Court with Suit No: SC/546/2018 wherein The Sun Publishing Limited  appealed  against the Judgement delivered by the Court of Appeal on the interim forfeiture order made against it by a Federal High Court in 2007 based on ex parte proceeding. The Notice of Appeal and Motion for Stay of Execution were duly served on EFCC by the bailiffs of the Court,” the management said.  
“It is also pertinent to state that  EFCC vide a letter written by Counsel to The Sun Publishing Limited, dated 22nd May, 2018 and duly received by one Caleb Peter on behalf of Rotimi Jacobs & Co. was further put on notice of the pending appeal at the Supreme Court and advised to stay action in the matter  pending the hearing of the Motion for Stay of execution and the appeal.  
“Again, it is instructive to state that The Sun Publishing Limited was not a party to the case of EFCC vs. Orji Uzor Kalu & 2 Others, so we do not see why the Judgment in that case should lead to attempt to seal The Sun Publishing Limited premises.  
“Further more, we are aware that both Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Slok Nig Limited have since appealed the Judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Idris and a hearing date given.  
“We wish to reiterate that The Sun Publishing Limited is an ongoing corporate limited liability company and its shares are owned by various individuals distinct  from Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. Therefore, the recent Judgment against Senator Orji Uzor Kalu should not be used to disturb the operations of the company and the proprietary rights of  its innocent  shareholders until the matters are dispensed with at the  Supreme Court.”

Wife of Zimbabwe's vice-president, Mary Chiwenga arrested on charges of money laundering






Mary Chiwenga, wife of Zimbabwe's vice president has been arrested on charges of money laundering and externalisation of foreign currency at a time the couple is on the verge of a nasty divorce.  
 
Mary, who has not been seen in public since her husband returned from China where he was hospitalised for over four months, was arrested by detectives from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
 
John Makamure, the ZACC spokesperson said he could only confirm that Marry was detained at a Harare police station as part of investigations into allegations that she was involved in money laundering.

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has reacted to comments by governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his deputy Philip Shaibu, that he (Oshiomhole) taught them all they are executing today in the state including the fight against godfatherism.

Oshiomhole who reacted in a television programme weekend said he never thought them violence being exhibited today in the state and losing elections because “I have always been a winner”.

According to him, “I have read them several saying that I thought them all they are doing today. This is laughable because I never thought them how to lose elections. As we speak today, the governor (Obaseki) lost his ward, Local Government and senatorial district in the last Presidential election. As we speak, the governor is being represented by the PDP in his Federal constituency and senatorial district. These in my view were early morning signals about need to change tactics., stop threatening people, saying you will crush, who are you crushing?

“But I won my entire senatorial district for Mr President and I am being represented by an APC senator and House of Representatives. Then his Deputy Philip, in Jattu where he comes from, in his polling booth where he and his family voted, Philip Shaibu lost. He lost his booth during his own governorship election in which he was standing as Deputy governorship candidate. So if he learnt from me, he should have learnt well because I never lost election in my village.

“There is nobody in my village who can work against me because when I go home I relate with them, I am an ordinary man. You see when you have power and you don’t use it you are even more powerful. And you must know when to talk tough and when to talk soft. When I am in my village I am just like an ordinary man. I argue and play with my people. The only man that was doing PDP in my village, the youths said how can he be doing PDP but I said no, you have to persuade him to join us.

“And today that young man is one of my PAs. So he (Philip) is one of my very poor students, Kakhi is not a lesson and fighters must be tactful and strategic. No sensible man will fight people who vote for them. Those they are fighting now, some of them delivered 95 per cent of the votes in their units while they lost their own areas” he said.

Regretting that Governor Obaseki and his deputy have unleashed mayhem on APC members in Edo state, Oshiomhole narrated that “Even a professional fighter you choose your fight. The other day when Shaibu led thugs to my village with Okada riders and he said during my court case Okada people were following us. It shows how poorly he can interpret situations. Did we ever use Okada riders to intimidate ACN elements then, never.

“And those Okada riders were not hired by me, they bought into my vision. They have heard of me as President of NLC and on that basis they all voted for me, so when I was rigged out they took the fight to the PDP. The problem is that Philip does not know the difference between family disagreement that can be settled through conversation and political opponents that need to be fought and defeated. But even my language is defeat my opponent and not crush my party members.

“It is only Philip and his boss that talks about crushing APC members. If you become a crushing machine and God enable you to crush your people who will you govern assuming you win. When elections start between us and PDP unleash that energy, you cannot possibly be making electoral sense by using your office or position to attack, brutalize and intimidate and even lie against your party members. And all I have tried to do is to tell him (Obaseki) that you will never have a political party that looks like a golf course.

“A political party is like a forest, in that forest you have many animals. The politician is the guy who goes into this forest, knowing fully well that all the dangerous animals are there but he is going for the antelope or the grass cutter which he wants to use to feed his family. He goes there get his antelope or grass cutter home and feast without being crashed.

“So the minimum requirement of political leadership is to be able to deal with all kinds of characters, use them to get what you want. And I said to him, you have to manage these people because for me as long as they deliver their units on the day of election you have to manage them. In my first term election when I don’t know the politicians too well, I won Oredo, Egor, Ikpoba Okhai, we were only rigged out in Ovia and Orhiomwon in 2007.

“It is those Benin votes and the small we got from Edo North that we used to defend my mandate in court. Look at the way they humiliated Ogbemudia’s daughter for refusing to abuse me, the woman only said I cannot abuse Comrade rather as a mother I will join hands to settle the dispute between you people. But they said they don’t want settlement they want to crush. Three days later they crushed the woman by suspending her as chairman of Egor Local Government.

“So it is a pity that they don’t know the difference between internal contestation and internal mechanism for resolving them and fighting the opposition. Killing is out of the kind of politics we practice, maiming is out of it. Now I told him Mr governor, with all the reservation people, were raising, talking about history, we convinced them to support you and it worked for you and you got elected, even if the margin of defeat was not as much as my own, but they worked for you.

“Then why do you now want to distort the system by creating so-called new political structure, is there a structural defect? He said he will retire all the politicians but I said to him will you retire somebody you did not hire. Most of these politicians I met them in the business. I have to go to their houses to convince them I want their support and when they give me that support I work hard to appreciate them. So if this is being foolish I want to remain foolish. As long as they work for me and Edo remain the only state in the South South that we have APC.

“The only thing I invested in defeating PDP in Edo state is my integrity and my capacity to persuade and mobilize. Politics is a leveler, people who are detained by their ego can’t make it in politics. And I do not know any political party where you don’t have disagreement but as leaders, all you need to do is to call them and explain yourself. If it happens they are right and you are wrong, you apologize. For me this remains the way to go calling everybody together. Not the clapping society where you selected those who praise you to high heaven” he stated.

IgbereTV reports that the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on Saturday evening spoke on issues concerning the Nigerian government and the agitation for Biafra.

Kanu who spoke in a radio broadcast cited the continued insurgency and terrorism in the country which he attributed to the agenda of the Fulanis to fully islamise Nigeria and have full control over its people and resources. He said that ISIL and other terrorist group are gradually gaining entrance into the country because the Nigerian government supports terrorism which it uses to achieve the Fulani agenda. He also blasted the Nigeria News media houses for reporting as false, the discovery made by the IPOB about the Nigerian army secretly burying 71 Nigerian soldiers killed by the ISWAP Terrorist group. He said that the Fulanis are planning to keep Nigeria in bondage by preaching a deceptive unity.

He went further to cite the present inequalities in wealth distribution which he said was a means the Fulanis are using to achieve the Fulani's goal of control of the whole country. He also said that all the policies of the government which includes political appointment, migration laws are centered on achieving the Fulani agenda.

He said that Buhari is not alive and the government is fully hijacked by the cabals as can be evidenced by the recent quarrel between Aisha Buhari and Garba Shehu.

According to Kanu, the Sultan of Sokoto owns 23 Oil Wells in Nigeria.

He said the government is using the lack of electricity to impoverish the people of southern Nigeria.

He spoke of Nigeria's lack of visionary leadership, as she still exports crude oil and imports petrol, with no plans to establish refineries.

He equally said that some people from the marginalized parts of the country who are supposed to be supporting the Biafran cause are not doing so but are rather fighting against it. Such people include some leaders of Igbo groups and some governors from the south.

He said that the agitation for Biafra will continue as Biafra and Nigeria are not meant to be together.

He ended his address by stating that Nnia Nwodo, the president of Ohaneze Ndigbo will no longer be the leader of Ohanaeze after 31st December 2019.

Quote:A 22-year old man, Friday Udeme, who was arrested for having sex with a 15-year old girl in Lagos insisted that the victim was his lover and they had enjoyed sex several times before they were caught.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Udeme told the Police that they enjoyed the romp and that was why both of them kept it to themselves before the girl’s parents later knew and reported to the Police.

The incident happened at Amodu Bello Street, Papa Ashafa area of Agege, where they reside.

They were said to have secretly been having sex and hid it from the neighbours over a period.
However, when the lovers were caught, the matter was reported to the Police and Udeme was arrested and later handed over to the Gender Section of the Police Command for further interrogation.

The Police found the suspect culpable because of the age of the victim. The suspect was later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the matter involved a minor.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, did not take his plea or grant him bail after the prosecutor moved the motion for the DPP’s advice.

Udeme was remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of DPP’s advice.

The matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP’s report finds Udeme culpable and recommends that he should be tried for defilement as alleged by the Police.

Reno Omokri has kicked against on-demand movie platform, Netflix, showing a movie about a ''gay Jesus.''

The movie titled, The First Temptation of Christ was made by a YouTube comedy group and was released by Netflix in Brazil on December 3rd. The movie implied that Jesus was in a sexual relationship with his male friend Orlando.

Reno in a post shared on his IG page this afternoon, appealed to Netflix not to take the tolerance of Christians for granted. He wondered if the platform can venture doing such about the Quaran. He also shaded comedian, Etinosa, who recently used the bible as an ashtray in one of her videos.

Fowler: How FIRS ‘N40bn election campaign fund’ triggered cold war in Nigeria’s presidency

The cold war within the Nigeria’s presidency was, among other issues, caused by alleged misappropriation of N40 billion by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) under the immediate past Chairman, Babatunde Fowler.

Fowler was last week denied a second term as superintendent of Nigeria’s apex tax office. He was replaced with a tax consultant, Muhammad M. Nami.


On Sunday, PRNigeria, relying on strong sources within the presidency, reported that the ‘misappropriated’ money, which was purportedly used for ‘political campaign funding’ for 2019 did not go down well with the seat of power which has ordered investigation and prosecution of culprits.

Officials are said to be angry and unsatisfied with Folwer’s explanations on how the fund was ‘shared,’ and have vowed to punish other collaborators, including a very powerful figure within the presidency.

Also connected to the N40 billion sharing bazaar is a political gladiator in the Southwest who was said to have received N3 billion which is less than 10 percent of the ‘campaign fund.’



Already, some top management staff of FIRS have been quietly arrested and are being interrogated on corruption allegations by anti-graft agencies.
A presidential source told PRNigeria: “Some senior FIRS staff, about nine of them who were arrested in connection with the money are being interrogated by an anti-corruption agency.

“Some are accused of being involved in a multi-billion naira fraudulent actions and contract awards. This is added to the extravagant lifestyle of these stooges and aides, poor governance structure, audit reports and general mismanagement at FIRS”.


Recall that the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, had on August 8, 2019 queried the former top man of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) for what the presidency called dwindling tax revenue since 2015 when the Buhari’s administration took the helm of governance.

Kyari ordered Fowler to explain why in 2015, FIRS set N4.7 trillion target but was only able to make N3.7 trillion in the actual collection. In 2016, 2017 and 2018, the target collections were N4.2 trillion, N4.8 trillion and N6.7 trillion but the actual collections were N3.3 trillion, N4.0 trillion and N5.3 trillion, respectively.

“You are kindly invited to submit a comprehensive variance analysis explaining the reasons for the variances between the budgeted collections and actual collections for each main tax item for each of the years 2015 to 2018,” Kyari demanded in the query.


Fowler, in his response, defended the performance of FIRS under him citing the fact that what was considered a fall in revenue was not as a result of misappropriated funds but a reflection of the state of the economy during the years under review.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari, in an apparent signal, fully backed his Chief of Staff’s actions against Fowler in his October 1, 2019 Independence Anniversary Speech.
Buhari said: “Our revenue-generating and reporting agencies will come under much greater scrutiny, going forward, as the new performance management framework will reward exceptional revenue performance, while severe consequences will attend failures to achieve agreed revenue targets.”


Also, more damaging to Fowler and his benefactors who are said to be on the brink of complete humiliation were the allegations by the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank.

Sources confirmed that the allegations, which are still being investigated, combined to stack up against Fowler whose fate was officially sealed by Buhari on December 9.

“Mind you that Fowler’s sack has not closed this chapter. Expect more casualties as more revelations are unravelled. More heads may roll including very top figures who are already roped in and cornered by the scandals,” the source said.



Also, the presidency was said to have been amazed by Fowler’s letter to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) seeking his tenure renewal.

The letter with reference number FIRS/EC/CWOSGF/0476/19/006, read in part: “I wish to present myself for re-appointment for a second term. This is consistent with provisions of the FIRS Establishment Act 2007 and would grant me the opportunity to consolidate and build on the achievements we have recorded in the past four years.

“Please find attached the highlight of my achievements during my first tenure in office. I would like to put on record my gratitude to Mr. President for the opportunity to serve the nation. I am also thankful for your support in the course of the discharge of my duties,” part of the letter read.


But the appeal for reappointment was immediately rejected because of the gravity of the allegations against Fowler. The letter was believed to have been leaked to embarrass Fowler.

The source further disclosed that not only were the allegations being taken seriously by the Presidency but there are “concerns on how to recover the money”.

“Recovering the embezzled money is of top priority and believe me those found culpable will eventually pay the price,” the source added.

Nigerians react after The Nation newspaper shares article tackling President Buhari






Nigerians are reacting to an article posted by the Nation newspaper today Sunday December 15th which tackled President Buhari on the various political appointments.
 
The article written by one of the newpapers columnist, Femi Orebe, queried why most of the appointments were being handed to Nigerians from a particular region.
 

The article and tweet on the newspaper's verified twitter handle has got people talking on Twitter especially since the newspaper, according to those on twitter, is allegedly owned by APC National leader,  Bola Tinubu. Many wonder why the article criticing President Buhari would be approved for publishing. 
 
The article is coming few days after Punch newspaper editorial took a stand to henceforth refer to President Buhari as ''Major General'' Buhari in protest of his style of governance.

I wrote all  the above to show, in unmistakable terms, not just  where I stand on the Nigerian political spectrum, but to let President Buhari  himself know that in asking what are bound to be thoroughly uncomfortable, if not ‘nauseating’ questions, they are not coming from enemy territory. Rather, they are coming from the tortured  soul of a supporter of his, who has been at the receiving end of  almost  daily flagellation by those Nigerians who say I was one of those who sold them ‘a pig in a poke’ as well as  the most tribalistic, and insular, Nigerian president, ever.
Even though, I will not go as far as to describe the president in those lurid terms, I often, in fairness to the critics, personally wonder as to how the president still manages to sleep, that is, if he is able to sleep, when he takes a hard look at how the North has come to so completely dominate the Nigerian public space under his watch to the extent that one would be right to say Nigeria is under a northern stranglehold.
Worse, really, is the fact that this seeming internal colonialism shows no signs of remission as various stratagems are ongoing, an example being the case of the Federal Commission on Nomadic Education, which has failed miserably in its core function given the number of out-of-school children in that part of the country, but is now coyly trying to embed itself in the contentious grazing reserves matter which many have said is aimed at sexing up Nigeria’s demographics in favour of the Fulani.
Mr President, Sir, I belong to many Whatsapp groups apart from individuals with the result that I have up to 1000 entities I receive chats from.
Many from these sources are daily bombarding me, as one of your arch supporters, with questions I haven’t the capacity to answer.
To these I shall return.
Like Dr Junaid Mohammed, US-based Professor Farooq A. Kperogi has in fact gone to the extent of describing your government as ‘Government of Buhari’s Family, by His Family, and for His Family’. He writes further:  Before he was sworn in as President in May 2015, Muhammadu Buhari, without prompting from anybody, publicly told his immediate and extended family members to stand back from his incoming government. He even warned that any family member who used his name to peddle influence would face dire consequences”. ”I was so impressed by this declaration that in my May 16, 2015 column titled “6 Reasons Why Incoming Buhari Government Fills Me with Hope,” I isolated it as one of the six reasons I thought Buhari’s administration would “represent a qualitative departure from the legalised banditry that has passed for governance in Nigeria for so long.” Specifically, he continued: “Buhari’s symbolic but nonetheless significant gestures like telling family members to steer clear of his government and telling aides to obey traffic laws inspire me.”
I remember the president saying that and I was beside myself with joy. You could have ridden a horse in my belly. But all those soon  dramatically  changed that the First Lady had to cry out, protesting what she called a hijack of your government. I thought that was impossible.
Back then to my Whatsapp groups and friends where all that  the First Lady complained of, important as they are, pales into almost nothing as the questions these ones  raise, are so telling and Pan –
Nigerian; far beyond family.
If His Excellency would kindly overlook the impertinence, could you please get the Presidency – no, not you in person Mr President, to provide answers to the following posers from a younger friend of mine, an Ekiti like me and retired Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – a Ph.D holder to boot – who has seen something of the world, but never ceases to taunt me with questions pertaining to ‘our’ administration.
The latest, which came via a Whatsapp chat, goes as follows:
“Oga (Ekiti salutation for elders), these are your latest achievements at the NEXT LEVEL. Any comment?
He didn’t have to repeat the ‘any comment’, as he always, unerringly, got a defence from me whenever he sends me these inquisitorial chats, which is almost daily.
This time around, Your Excellency, I am in a complete fix, and so do need help. Indeed, to taunt me maximally, he wrote that this one is only an observation.
Here they go:
“Finance, Customs, Immigration, FIRS, NPA, NNPC, AMCON, NDIC, Federal Mortgage Bank, are now firmly in the hands of northerners!
Executive, Legislature, the Judiciary, Police, DSS, Armed Forces, minus the CDS, Oil, Airports and Seaports, are all in the hands of northerners.
The rout is complete.
Chief of Army Staff tenure is over. He is still in office
Chief of Naval Staff tenure is over. He is still in office.
EFCC acting Chairman’s tenure is over. He is still in office.
But FIRS boss, Tunde Fowler’s tenure expired today and he is already replaced”.
As I indicated above, I know that the First Lady  had once observed that you do not know many of  those working in your government,  but that notwithstanding, I think it is necessary  I remind  your Excellency, that Nigeria presently has no less than 250 ethnic groups divided into  six geo – political zones . Under no circumstances should all these happen as they are totally unconscionable, and a matter of great discomfort for us your supporters in this part of the country. It is extremely nauseating that a part can so torridly dominate the rest when those others are no slaves.
No genuine supporter of yours can be happy, or roll out the drums, for this state of affairs as they are not only unthinkable, but ungodly. It is even worse, given Nigeria’s current realities of mass poverty, unremitting insecurity, all on top of a seeming northernisation policy, as if the other ethnic groups are non- Nigerians. Unfortunately, Nigerians are not hearing a word from non northern APC leaders as to what negative  consequences all these may have on the party come 2023, and one begins to wonder as to how they explain all these to their people. This failure on their part can serve as a mitigating factor for the President, but even then, it would be pointless and unhelpful,
Whatever the president can do to correct these incredible anomalies will be of great help to the party, will mollify the people, and most probably, secure a positive legacy for you.
Otherwise all your positive contributions to Nigeria, at these extremely difficult times, may come to naught, which I pray, God forbid.
RE: THE RULING ON EX-GOVERNORS’ PENSION LAW
“Long time. I don’t miss Nation on Sunday  because  of your column. God bless   SERAP people for the judge’s ruling on ex-governors’  bogus pension package. I believe that  all the  ex-governors must have met Mr Malami “ in chamber” before he wrote that law- student piece.  Mark it, he may not last Pres Buhari’s 4  years. Whatever a man sows he shall reap. By the way, is it not  Mr Malami who should have gone to court to challenge NASS N14m & N12m  monthly pay?  All he will ask is for the   court to declare whether NASS  pay is reasonable or not in the light of the level of  unemployment  in Nigeria today and workers’ minimum wage of only N30,000 a month.. A verdict of “unreasonable” is all Nigerians need to march on NASS.  May God bless our country..

LAPD officer charged with fondling dead woman's breast, faces three years in jail






The LAPD officer who was accused of fondling a dead woman's breasts has been officially charged.
 
David Rojas, 27, could be sent to prison for three years if found guilty of having sexual contact with human remains without authority, according to a statement by Los Angeles County district attorney.
 
The veteran cop was placed on leave after his bodycam footage reportedly showed him groping a corpse, the LA Times reported.
 
The incident occurred when the officer and his partner were called to investigate a report of a fatality at a residential unit in Los Angeles. After entering the premises and confirming the death, the partner left the room to retrieve something from the patrol car.  
 
The accused officer then turned off his bodycam, before switching it back on a short time later.  However the device has a two-minute buffer; it is constantly recording video and audio, even when switched off. When re-activated, it saves the previous two minutes of footage.  
 
The disturbing video allegedly shows him lifting the sheet off the woman's body, before feeling her nipples and fondling her breasts. The incident came to light during a random inspection of bodycam footage, when a supervisor discovered it and reported him.

Woman left shocked after finding $37 million accidentally deposited in her bank account






An American woman received the shock of her life after she checked the balance in her bank account and found $37,000,000 extra in it. 
 
The woman, Ruth Balloon from Dallas said she had thought it was an early Christmas gift from someone until she reached out to her bank and discovered it was only an error. 
 
“I was like, ‘wow, we have a lot of money’!, Ruth Balloon said after she checked her bank account balance with LegacyTexas Bank. “I hoped someone really gifted us with that $37-million,” she added. 
 
After she told her husband about the shocking discovery, they called the Bank who then told them it was a clerical error. 
 
According to her, the bank apologized and took back the money they had mistakenly deposited in Balloon's account. 
 
“I was a millionaire, I have a screenshot of it so I can say that now,” said Balloon. “It’s quite a story.”
 
She also hopes the bank will give her a reward for notifying them as soon as possible. .
 
“A ‘thank you’ reward would be a little bit good. Just for being a good customer and notifying them as soon as possible,” she said.
 
On what she would have done with money if it wasn't a mistake, she said: “First I was going to do 10% tithing. Then I was going to donate some money and then I would have invested in real estate.”
 
The Bank later released a statement addressing the error.

Due to the fluctuation in exchange rates, all foreign currency transactions must be manually entered into our system through our back office. When our client’s deposit was being keyed in, our representative entered her account number into the amount field by mistake.
 
Although our client brought the error to our attention and the transaction was immediately reversed, less the amount of her original deposit, it would have been caught and corrected during our evening processing. Rest assured, our systems are sound, and this manual entry error has been addressed.

Father jailed for 8 -years for beating man to death after he attempted to violate his 16-year-old daughter








An Arizona father who beat a man to death after he tried to violate his daughter has been jailed for eight years. 
 
40-year-old Melvin Harris III was arrested in August 2018 after beating Leon Leevon Armstrong, 27, to death in the parking lot of a convenience store in Phoenix, Arizona. 
 
According to court records, Melvin had gone to pick up his teenage daughter and her two friends at the QT near 19th and Dunlap avenues just after 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 2. Harris was waiting in the parking lot when a man approached and asked him for money, records show. Harris gave him change and the man walked into the store.
 

 
While Harris was waiting in his car for his daughter and her friends, they told him Armstrong had tried forcefully to get into the bathroom stall she was in. 
 
Security guards were reportedly alerted and police were called but Harris still went ahead to beat Armstrong to death in the parking lot. 
 
Witnesses said Harris punched him in the face and kick and stomp on him, records show. Following the incident, Harris got into his car and drove home.
 
The man died in the hospital from brain swelling, a nasal fracture and loss of oxygen. 
 
Harris was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder but after he accepted a plea deal, the charge reduced to manslaughter. As part of the agreement, he will spend eight years behind bars.

CAN demands Tanko’s removal as Chief Justice of Nigeria






The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has reacted to Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad's call for the amendment of the constitution to accomodate more aspects of the Shari’a law.
 
Recall LIB reported that Tanko urged academics to champion the cause of redesigning the methods of teaching Shari’a law, while pointing out that implementation of his suggestions would be more feasible if universities give the Shari’a law its own faculty.
 
Reacting to the comment credited to the CJN, CAN raised an alarm of a plan to islamize Nigeria and backed its claim by pointing out that the President's recent appointment was in favour of a certain religion. 
 
The Christian group also called for the removal of Tanko and the Chief Justice of Nigeria over the comment it described as reprehensible, reckless and insensitive. According to the CAN, the CJN is religiously compromised and no longer trustworthy in the dispensation of justice. 
 
A statement by CAN President, His Eminence, Rev Dr. Samson Ayokunle which issued by his Special Assistant (Media & Communications) Pastor Adebayo Oladeji reads; 
 

Quote:“Our attention has been drawn to the advocacy of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed for the amendment of the Constitution with a view to adding more Sharia contents.
“Justice Muhammed reportedly made the call while declaring open the 20th Annual Judges Conference at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria Faculty of Law’s Moot Court.
“We have not seen the full text of the paper presented and we learnt the Chief Justice was represented at the event. So, it is difficult to know if the speech was that of the Chief Justice or his representative.
“We don’t believe that such a reckless and provocative statement could be made by the number one judicial officer in the country. How could the CJN say ‘We as Muslims have the numbers to amend the constitution’? It is not possible. It is either he was misquoted outright or quoted out of context.
“Asking for constitutional amendment with a view to adding more to the Sharia contents is ill-timed, provocative and unacceptable. Was the Chief Justice of Nigeria put there deliberately for the promotion of Islamic matters or to be unbiased and fair judge for all irrespective of religion? It appears from this statement (if he made it) that he was put there for Islamisation agenda.
“Those in government are warned not to use the cheap popularity or acceptance they seek to set two religious practitioners against each other.
“This type of statement, if true, is enough for the President of the country to initiate the removal of this Chief Justice from office. He is religiously biased and partisan. We have no more confidence in him. And we once again reiterate our advocacy for religious balanced in the appointments that are being made by the President.
“Lopsided appointments are direct contradictions to some portions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). These include but not limited to Sections 10, 13 (3-4), 15 (2) (d) and (4). It is widely believed that no country survives two civil wars. Our leaders should be mindful of the complexities of the people they are leading.
“There have been Presidents, who are Christians. During their time, there was never a time they promoted their religion at the expense of others. Our leaders should stop paying lip service to the unity and peace of the country. 
“Do we take it that what he said is the official position of this regime on inter-faith relations? Why has no one in leadership, either, the Executive or Legislative arm of government taken him up on it? The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is eagerly awaiting the rebuttal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria on the unfortunate and unguarded utterances that can provoke a religious crisis in the country."

A viral video of a pastor bathing in church and serving his church members his bath water to drink has sparked up mixed reactions on social media. 
 
The Ghanaian pastor was spotted in his boxers taking a dip in a barrel filled with water in the church. However shortly after speaking to his church members, they were spotted lining up to drink from a cup filled with his bath water. 
 
Local news platforms reported that the Pastor told his members that God instructed him to pull off the act. According to him, anyone who drinks from his bath water will get more blessings.

Nigerian church in the UK investigated over claims pastors 'pushed congregration members into selling their blood to raise funds for the church'






Spac Nation church, a church headed by a Nigerian in the UK is reportedly under investigation over its alleged methods of raising funds.
 
The church which is headed by Tobi Adegboyega who came to Britain in 2005, has been accused of pushing its young members into selling their blood and also taking bank loans which they allegedly donate to the church to fund the lavish lifestyle of its pastors.
 

 
The church which was praised by politicians in the past for rehabilitating youths linked to gang violence, came under scrutiny following a number of exposés which alleged that it was pressuring young members to beg, borrow and steal money for the church.
 
UK's Charity Commission who confirmed the probe, said it was looking into the governance, management, policies and practices of Spac Nation church, a registered charity set up to spread Christianity, particularly in relation to the safeguarding of its beneficiaries and its financial arrangements.
 

 
Earlier this week, HuffPost UK reported that some Spac nation members allegedly took teenagers to donate blood for medical trials, in a practice known as “bleeding for seed”. The church has however denied the claim.
 
Labour MP Steve Reed, the Shadow Children’s Minister, previously told The Mail on Sunday:

‘Victims are saying it is run like a cult. I want there to be a full investigation.’

“The opening of this inquiry is an important step that will allow us to examine these concerns further and establish the facts. We will seek to provide assurance to the public and the community that these matters will be considered fully and, where necessary, resolved.”

Stay and advance the cause of your motherland - Buhari to Nigerian youths






President Buhari has appealed to Nigerian youths in a haste to leave the country to stay back and advance the cause of their motherland. 
 
The President who was represented at 44th convocation ceremony of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife on Saturday December 14 by Suleiman Raman-Yusuf, the deputy executive secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC) urged universities to work out ways to increase their internally generated revenue (IGR) to enhance sustainable education.
 
He said;

Former Catholic archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Okogie has likened the current state of the nation to the military era and when laws were interpreted without any regard for fundamental human right. 
 
The cleric who accused the Buhari-led administration of disobeying court orders, stated that one can't enforce laws when they don't obey it. 
 
Okogie wondered if Nigerians can candidly say they have democrats at the helm of affairs at this point in time. 
 
He said; 
 

Quote:“If the executive disobeys court rulings, and if it intimidates and humiliates the judiciary, then we are back to the era when a military junta made laws and interpreted them without any regard for fundamental human rights,” the cardinal said.

“They do not arrogate to themselves the power to accuse, arrest, prosecute and convict. But can we candidly say we have democrats at the helm of affairs in this country at this point in time?
“How can we claim to live in a democracy when presidential spokespersons tell us the presidency is always right?”

Niger republic, Togo and Benin cannot cheat Nigeria, they should pay up $9m electricity bills - TCN






The managing director of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Usman Mohammed has asked the country's international electricity customers to pay $9 million outstanding power bills.
 
He disclosed that international electricity customers have accumulated a bill of over $100 million since he assumed office as he warned that they will get disconnected if they don't pay up. 
 
Mohammed who is also the chairman of West African Power Pool (WAAP) said; 
 

Quote:“It is not because I am the chairman of the West African Power Pool (WAAP) that I will be allowing international customers to cheat Nigeria. 
“When I took over as MD TCN, both Benin and Togo were owing Nigeria more than $100 million. The debt now remains $7 million.
“Niger is owing less than $2 million. In short, we are not leaving them. We disconnect them as we disconnect customers here in Nigeria. Electricity is not charity. We cannot just allow people to consume electricity and leave us like that.
“As at now, we have restricted their supply to only their contracted ones. We are insisting they pay all their outstanding bills before we reconnect them and we increase the off-take.”

Unknown gunmen on Thursday abducted Evans Odibo Akponana, a chieftain and former Ughelli North Local Government Area chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ughelli, Delta State.

According to an eyewitness, the Kidnappers laid ambush around his country home in Afiesere town awaiting his arrival and immediately opened fire at his vehicle which unfortunately hit his security guard.

Akponana tried to escape with bullet wounds he sustained but was overpowered by his abductors who absconded with him leaving behind the corpse of his murdered security guard and a frightened neighborhood.

Reports gathered revealed that the operation was a failed assassination attempt on the chieftain over a degenerated community issue bothering on having a constitution and opening a community bank account for accountability.

As at the time of filing the report, police officers have removed the corpse of the deceased security man.

The abductors of the chieftain reportedly established contact with the family demanding for a whopping #30m ransom.

Calls put across to the Ughelli Police Headquarters for comments were neither answered nor replied at press time.

It was supposed to be a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, but some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors had other plans – the removal of National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole.

It took the swift intervention of Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum to kill the plot hatched by Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa) and Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi).

Zulum was said to have spilled the beans when he saw that the quartet wanted to use the other governors to get the President’s backing for Oshiomhole’s removal, The Nation learnt on Sunday.

Sources said he told the President that El-Rufai, Fayemi, Bagudu and Badaru, among others, want to hijack the party leadership because they want one of them to be president in 2023. The quartet see Oshiomhole as an obstacle to the project.

”It is all about 2023. They want a pliant person as chairman, someone they can manipulate. That is why they want Oshiomhole out”, he told a stunned President Buhari, adding: ”They want to hijack the APC for selfish reason”. The President agreed to the meeting after being told by the El-Rufai group that the governors wanted to see him on an issue of national importance.

The four governors told their colleagues that the President wanted to see them penultimate Thursday. They informed them about the meeting late on Wednesday, ostensibly to make it difficult for them to attend. Apparently wary of the quartet’s motive, the pro-Oshiomhole governors shelved other state matters and travelled to Abuja.

At the meeting, the President sought to know the governors’ mission.

El-Rufai responded that the governors have resolved that Oshiomhole should go because he is not running the party well. He said they came to inform the President about their plan.

Zulum and other pro-Oshiomhole governors were stunned by the disclosure. Other pro-Oshiomhole governors at the meeting were Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Gboyega Oyetola (Osun). Zulum countered: ”Who are the APC governors with you? Where and when did we meet to agree that the national chairman should resign?” he asked El-Rufai.

He told the President that the governors were told he wanted to compare notes with them. Zulum said they were shocked to hear that El-Rufai and those with him asked for the meeting.
A source privy to the meeting and how it went said Zulum told the President to be wary of the four governors.

He told the President that El-Rufai and his collaborators had sinister motive. Zulum revealed that Bagudu once pleaded with him to support former Zamfara State Governor Abdulazeez Yari in his (Yari) bid to replace Oshiomhole. He challenged Bagudu to deny it.

Oyetola told the President that what El-Rufai said was a figment of his imagination. ”No APC governors meeting took place where it was resolved that Oshiomhole should be replaced”, he said.

The source also quoted Zulum as saying: “Mr. President, you see all these governors seeking the removal of Oshiomhole are doing so because they are aspiring to be President in 2023. This is why they are calling a dog a bad name in order to hang it. Must we destroy the party because of presidential ambition? I think we should be careful.

“I believe our National Chairman is a fair and equitable leader. I have never met him, yet he allowed due process in the party which made me to emerge as the governorship candidate of the APC in Borno State. He knew me during the presidential campaign in our state. He has never asked me for a favour.”

It was gathered that Zulum enjoyed the backing of Oyetola, Abiodun and Sanwo-Olu.
“The anti-Oshiomhole governors were glued to their seats as the President left”, the source added.

It was learnt that Zulum received “follow up telephone calls from some of the anti- Oshiomhole governors.

He reportedly told one of them: “I know what I am doing, I am not running anybody’s errand. I am not only a PhD holder, I am a Professor. Having attained professorial level, I am knowledgeable enough to know the right thing.”


But the anti-Oshiomhole governors are not relenting in their mission.

They have been strategising on how to woo about 120 members of the the APC National Executive Committee (NEC).

They are either looking at ex-Governor Yari or a former aspirant for APC chair, Mr. Sam Jaja.
A party source said: “I think they are peddling Yari, the choice might be Jaja eventually. They know Yari loves ego boosting and he has a lot to spend. If Yari is their ultimate choice, they will meet their match in President Buhari, who believes the ex-Zamfara governor must account for his tenure in the state. Buhari has refused to stop the investigation of Yari despite the entreaties of some of these anti-Oshiomhole governors.

“It also does not add up for the President to come from the North-West and the party chairman from the same zone. Yari is just a smokescreen.

“If they are able to convince Jaja to replace Oshiomhole, they must be running the errand of a third force.

“Some of these governors, their allies and foot soldiers are so petty to the extent that they are deploying huge cash to remove Oshiomhole. Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is having a running battle with Oshiomhole, is said to be one of those funding the project. They have offered some NEC members as much as N500,000, and even infiltrated the National Working Committee ( NWC) of the APC by dangling N10million to N20million to the members. Those offered the huge cash were from both North-Central and South-West.

It was learnt that the aggrieved governors have shifted base to the Deputy Senate President, Chief Ovie Omo-Agege, who is a staunch backer of Oshiomhole.

They are throwing the presidential ticket to him as a bait, if the 2023 presidency is zoned to the South-South.

“Omo-Agege is wiser, he is presently a Deputy President of the Senate and the South-South leader of APC. His future will take care of itself”, a source said.

As at press time, Oshiomhole’s camp has started fighting back with about 90 NEC members ready to ”sink or swim” with him.

A member of the NWC said: “It is not only the governors that make up the NEC. Out of about 120 members, we have 36 from the National Assembly, state chairmen of APC and non-NWC members among others.

“And some governors have started backing out of the plot having realised that the proposed removal of Oshiomhole has to do with the presidential aspiration of some of their colleagues.”

While El-Rufai, Badaru and Bagudu are said to be banking on power likely being retained in the North, Fayemi is said to be either eyeing a joint ticket with El-Rufai or a presidential slot, if power shifts to the South in 2023.

Fayemi and El-Rufai are close to Oshiomhole, but because of their ambition, they are determined to sacrifice him, an APC insider said. They visit Oshiomhole regularly and pretend that they are with, the source added.

El-Rufai was said to have sold a dummy to his colleagues that he is ”the only one who can read the body language of the President”.

The confidence exuded by el-Rufai was said to have informed the deployment of huge cash, ranging from N500,000 to N10million, as bribes to the APC NEC members.

Despite the huge war chest, about 90 NEC members have signed up to ”sink or swim” with Oshiomhole.

Findings revealed that at the prompting of El-Rufai, the anti-Oshiomhole governors had tried four times in the past two months to get him out to no avail.

They made the attempts at the November 21 National Caucus session; the November 22 NEC meeting; the emergency session of the Progressives Governors Forum in Abuja; and the December 5 session with the President.

APC stalwart Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr. Boss Mustapha were said to have saved the party from sinking into a deeper crisis at the APC Caucus meeting on November 21.

But with Badaru raising about 22 defects in the party’s Audit Report, those who wanted the party intact (like Boss Mustapha) quickly waded in.

It was the same SGF who rescued the party at the November 22 NEC meeting when he doused tension by telling members that the President had a tight schedule, which led to the abrupt adjournment of the session.

Buhari, who had been fully briefed about the governors’ plot, was said to have given nothing away with his inscrutable countenance.

Although Buhari had asked the aggrieved governors to “follow due process and adhere to the constitution of APC in effecting any change”, the intelligence at his disposal about their plot was rated as “disturbing” before the NEC meeting.

His address at the NEC meeting, according to a source, was a “subtle warning” to the ”coup plotters.”

Unknown to the El-Rufai group, intelligence had picked up his audience with the APC chairman some hours before the NEC session.

The source said: “Pretending to have met Oshiomhole as a long-standing friend, El-Rufai asked the APC chairman to resign to avoid being disgraced at the NEC meeting.

“Oshiomhole, however, snapped by asking him the basis for his resignation having led the party to secure a comfortable majority in the National Assembly and put in place good leaders in the Senate and House of Representatives to assist the President to achieve his agenda. He also said the party has won more states in recent elections.

“The National Chairman of APC put El-Rufai to task in a manner that made him look ordinary. Oshiomhole was emphatic in telling El-Rufai that he will not resign.”

“He (Oshiomhole) said: ‘There is nothing to this office, I am a leader who knows when to quit if I have committed infractions. I know the standard all over the world, I am not an exception’. This is what he told El-Rufai.”

OAU Professor shot dead by gunmen in Edo






A senior lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State, Professor Jerome Elusiyan, has been killed.
 
According to reports, Elusiyan who was until his death the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, (OAUTH), Ile-Ife, was gunned down by yet to be identified men in Edo State. He was said to be travelling between Ekpoma and Benin alongside his driver when he was allegedly attacked by gunmen.
 
He was shot dead while his driver sustained gunshot injuries.

Police, Edo govt causing trouble in State – Oshiomhole raises alarm

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has accused the Nigeria police of aiding thugs to cause chaos in the state, saying, he was ashamed of what happened between Thursday and Friday.


He accused the Edo State Government of sponsoring thugs to cause trouble by blocking major roads and burning tyres, adding that the plan was to apportion the blame on him should any casualty occur.


Oshiomhole who addressed newsmen at his house shortly after the rally at Ize-Iyamu’s house noted that knowing well the ulterior motives of the state government, he decided not to attend the rally which held at Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s house but was in support of the mega rally.


“As national chairman, I have to pay the price by abstaining from going there so that I deny the Inspector General of Police and the Edo State Command any excuse to go and kill people and blame it on me. We will not go to their level; blood for blood is not our belief.


“So, once our members are united, I am comfortable, but we will sustain the path of peace and that was the only reason I opted not to attend the mega rally. They have already planted a story today from the government house that I am under house arrest.



“The shame, however, is that those who have the responsibility to provide security decided to create security challenges.


“Look at what happened at the Airport road on Thursday for instance. Just because I was coming to the state, the state government sponsored thugs to barricade the roads, burnt tyres. How do you want the owner of that Audi car that was burnt to feel? This is a voter that has power to vote against us tomorrow and not a politician, so why burning his car?”


“Thugs were burning tyres on the road and security men were there looking at them. I personally wrote a letter, signed it and handed it over to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), notifying him of this rally, only for me to hear that this same IGP has cancelled the rally. 

I didn’t use PA, I didn’t use SA just to avoid communication gap, so I will want to know from the IGP and the Edo State Command what went wrong.”



The former governor of the state posited that if at all there are differences among party members, the best way to iron such out is to have a round table discussion and not the ways things are being done, stressing that such method have been applied but the state government has refused such ‘all-inclusive meetings.’


He said, “My position is that the way to iron differences is to sit down with various sides of opinion within the party; listen to those who have complaints and weigh the ones that are valid; share with them how you will address them, the ones that are not valid, then explain why they are not. This is what we have been working on but the governor has consistently refused to attend an all-inclusive meeting.”


Comr Oshiomhole, however, expressed satisfaction that the party held a peaceful rally despite the security challenges, stressing that his concern is to make sure ‘the house of the APC is in order.’


“We are happy that in spite of everything, APC, had a successful rally that was peaceful and it achieved its purpose. As I stand here now, I am taller now than I was just yesterday because we have harvested to our party people who were part of the foundation of APC, those who participated in the negotiations for the merger, not only have they returned home, they have also used their connection in the other party they were to move people to join us”, he said.
Earlier at the rally ground, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu had declared that he is not in the APC to cause more division or chaos, but to work on the party’s unity and to add value.


While thanking all that attended the rally, he expressed dismay that the state government could threaten to revoke his Certificate of Occupancy for organising a rally inside his compound.

Sudan’s former president Omar Al-Bashir, 75, bags two year-jail term









A court in Khartoum has ruled that former president of Sudan Omar al-Bashir should be detained for two years in a correctional centre for corruption.

 

The much awaited verdict was one of several cases against the ousted autocrat, who ruled his country with iron hands, until he was ousted in April.  

 

The court ordered the 75-year-old to serve two years in a correctional centre for the elderly.  Bashir, who was toppled by the army in April after months of mass demonstrations, was convicted of graft and “possession of foreign currency”, judge Al Sadiq Abdelrahman said.  

 

“Under the law, those who reached the age of 70 shall not serve jail terms,” the judge said. Bashir will serve his sentence after the verdict has been reached in another case in which he is accused of ordering the killing of demonstrators during the protests that led to his ouster, the judge said.  

 

The court also ordered the confiscation of 6.9 million euros, $351,770 and 5.7 million Sudanese pounds ($128,000) found at Bashir’s home. The ex-president will appeal the verdict, said one of his lawyers, Ahmed Ibrahim. Outside the court, several dozen Bashir supporters protested chanting: “There is no god but God.”    

 

During his trial which began in August, the deposed strongman appeared several times in a metal cage wearing the traditional Sudanese white jalabiya and turban. Bashir, who was toppled by the army in April after months of mass demonstrations, was convicted of graft and “possession of foreign currency”, judge Al Sadiq Abdelrahman said.

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, has condemned the killing of four aid workers by armed groups in Borno. 

 

Eve Sabbagh, the Head of Public Information, UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), stated this in a statement on Saturday, December 14th in Maiduguri. Kallon said the UN agency was sad by the killing of the aid workers by their captors on December 13.  

 

He described the action as “tragic” and called for immediate release of aid workers still under captivity.
