TOPIC ✨ You've Escaped The Corruption In The World✨

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Peter 1:4).

Corruption in our opening verse, means depravity or destruction, when something has been reduced and devaluated, when something is no longer perfect as a result of the inclusion of something foreign or of a lesser value. It’s an adulteration; when something less qualitative has been mixed with a previously perfect material.

The world as we have it today has been corrupted; this isn’t the way God made it to be. It has become depraved, because there’s a law of destruction at work in the world, called the law of death. But the Apostle Paul, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). You live by the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hence you’ve escaped the corruption that’s in the world.

Our theme scripture says, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. The Spirit, through Peter, the Apostle, lets us know that the cause of corruption is lust. Lust is craving after something that’s forbidden. The Greek word is “epithumia.”

That was what Eve did in the Garden of Eden; And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise…(Genesis 3:6). It was pleasant to her; she liked it, but there was a law against it. God said, “don’t eat it! Yet she fervently longed for that which was forbidden. The desire after something that’s forbidden is the lust that has introduced the law of depravity into the world.

But thanks be unto God! In Christ Jesus, you’ve escaped the corruption that’s in the world through lust. Whereas sickness, death, darkness, and depravity are rife in the world, health, life, light and righteousness work in you.

Refuse to desire or accept anything that seems to suggest you’re still in the corrupted state or that you’re in lack or still imperfect. Have the consciousness that all things that pertain to life and godliness have been granted you. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for my destiny in you. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. I've escaped the corruption, the depravity and the decadence in the world through lust. I'm perfected in Christ, in Jesus Name. Amen.

The Senate Ad hoc Committee on Security Infrastructure yesterday expressed shock that President Muhammadu Buhari, his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, and the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, all ignored several warnings of the planned attack on Logo and Guma local councils of Benue state.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, who disclosed efforts to inform the Federal Government of these warnings while meeting with the committee that is investigating the breakdown of security infrastructure in the country, also blamed security agencies for the unabated massacre committed in the state by Fulani herdsmen since 2008.
In the report of the committee’s visit to the state, which was made available to journalists in Abuja, Ortom stated that upon getting information on the planned siege by the Fulani herdsmen he immediately wrote a letter to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who was acting president, while Buhari was away for medical treatment abroad.
According to him, all attempts to get the vice president’s attention through the letter failed, as he got no reply whatsoever from him.
Ortom added that Buhari upon his return to the country, was also written to many times, but no reply was also received from him on the issue.
The governor further disclosed that additional efforts were made by the state government to draw the attention of the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, through a separate letter, but that also yielded no response.
In his submission to the committee led by the Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan, the governor said: “We wrote to the Vice President on the planned attack on parts of Benue by Fulani herdsmen, because the word was everywhere on the street, but he refused to reply.
“When there was no response, and upon the return of Mr. President, I personally went and intimated him, and also wrote. The documents are here, I will hand them over to you. I wrote to him on the planned attack by Fulani herdsmen because these threats were on the streets,” Ortom stated.
He added that on October 7, 2017, “I wrote to the Inspector General of Police, I told him of a planned attack on our people. When there was no response, on October 27, 2017, I reminded him that these people are planning to attack us, and that we are law-abiding people; we have disarmed our youths, and we are looking onto security agencies. And the way to do it is to arrest those people, who were inciting the herdsmen to combat us, and we knew they were going to come.
“These people were all over the place; on television, in the papers doing various press conferences, and they eventually took us to court. But we felt that it was a crime for anyone to incite people against us for the purpose of killing or causing harm and destruction.
So we expected them (security agencies) to act, but there was no action… I also wrote to the Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS). And when there was no action, I followed it up with a reminder on October 27, 2017… Of course the National Security Adviser invited us for a meeting twice, but the meetings were put off,” the state’s chief executive stated.
Ortom, who regretted the way and manner that his government’s complaints were handled added, “If I had wanted to buy guns, I would not have waited. But if I bought guns and gave to those people, would my people have been killed in the manner they were killed? I disarmed the people and did not buy a single gun, I’m a Christian, if I bought one I would say yes.”
On allegations that Plateau Governor, Solomon Lalong, warned him against introducing the anti-grazing law in Benue State, he said: “… How can you warn me? Am I the governor of Plateau State, or am I his member of staff? Do I work for him? I’m Governor of Benue State, and my responsibility is to do what my people want. That is what democracy is all about. So, when you castigate people about because you were induced by someone to make those kinds of statements, then it’s unfortunate.
“Remember, this is the same man, a double-standard person, who told me when I visited Jos three weeks ago that he is under pressure by his people to put in place the same law. He told me this, but he never warned me anywhere. He’s just trying to use that to blackmail me. What crime have I committed?”
Ortom continued: “Is this how we want to continue as a country? Where some people are given privileges to be lawless?” he questioned.
Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Lawan said the committee was put in place to ensure a review of the country’s security infrastructure.
According to him, the leadership of the upper chamber felt “this was necessary due to the current rise of insecurity in Nigeria,” adding that “the way our security apparatus is arranged, citizens are not properly and effectively protected.”
Senator Lawan, who conveyed the Senate’s condolences to the government and people of Benue State, however, assured that the Senate would partner stakeholders and all security agencies to ensure a lasting solution to the problem of insecurity around parts of the country.
He also called on leaders to provide an enabling environment for citizens to be protected and go about their lawful activities.
Blaming the spate of killings around the country on the failure of security agencies, Lawan said, “I think something is amiss. It is either they have deficiencies or they are not cooperating among themselves. It is our wish that these killings should be the last to happen in our country. We will cooperate and work with the executive, but we believe the state and federal governments must continue to work together on this. Those who perpetrated this crimes must be apprehended and prosecuted,” he added.
Members of the committee, who visited the state to investigate the recent killings include Senators Abu Ibrahim, Sam Egwu, Abba Kyari, Barnabas Gemade, Biodun Olujimi, Joshua Lidani and Emmanuel Paulker.
Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Benue State Chapter, has insisted that the recent killings were a deliberately planned jihad and not agitations for grazing as claimed by sections and enemies of the state.
The state chairman of the body, Rev. Akpen Leva, while fielding questions from journalists in Makurdi, said the church, was firmly behind the governor, in full support of ranching, stressing that herders that want to remain in the state should embrace ranching as the people would no longer tolerate animals and crops coexisting on a piece of land.
He added that they would remain firm until the herdsmen kill everybody in the state before they can take over Benue land.
The CAN chairman, who expressed displeasure over President Muhammadu Buhari’s inability to visit Benue State called on him to, without further delay, visit the state himself to redeem his image.
The National Conscience Party (NCP) has also condemned Buhari’s attitude towards the rising level of insecurity in the country saying his failure to rise up to his responsibility is suggestive of his conspiracy with his Fulani kinsmen.
The National chairman of the party, Tanko Yunusa, in a statement also insisted that the president must overhaul his security apparatus, which he noted was biased.
He further warned the president against re-contesting saying his insistence to do so would spell doom for the nation.

Two months after Ambassador Ayodele Oke was sacked as Director General of the National Intelligence Agency [NIA] and two days after Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar was appointed as its new DG, another scandal hit the intelligence agency at the weekend when $44million in cash kept in its vaults in Abuja was removed to an unknown destination.
Daily Trust on Sunday learnt from top security sources that the money was surreptitiously removed even before the agency’s new DG resumes duty.
Tracing the origin of the money, the sources disclosed that the Jonathan administration released over $260million to NIA as General Intervention Fund. At the time Federal Government launched an investigation into the funds last year, only the cash discovered in Lagos and the $44million lying in the Abuja vault remained to be expended out of the original $260million, the sources said.
As soon as it started its probe, the Osinbajo-led committee directed that the money must remain in NIA’s vault as exhibit, Daily Trust on Sunday learnt.The sources however said, “While the money remained in the vault, certain powerful forces mounted pressure on the acting DG, Ambassador Mohammed Dauda, who was redeployed from Chad, to use the money since it is the property of the NIA but the acting DG refused.”
According to our sources, the “powerful forces” pushed very hard for the money to be tampered with, saying government had forgotten all about it, but for the firm resistance of the outgoing acting DG.
Our sources added, “But barely two days after President Buhari named a substantive head for the agency, a black bullion van was dispatched to NIA and the money was removed to an unknown destination around 6am on Friday.
The team that removed the money was accompanied by a serving military officer who was posted to the intelligence outfit months ago as the finance officer.” The total amount of money that was taken away from NIA’s vaults on Friday was $44,285,996.
Daily Trust on Sunday learnt that the $43million that former DG Ambassador Ayodele Oke kept at an Ikoyi apartment was part of the funds earlier released to NIA by the Federal Government as General Intervention Fund. Oke was fired from his job in October last year, six months after he was handed an indefinite suspension following the discovery of the money at an Ikoyi apartment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
When a whistle blower led EFCC to the money, NIA under Oke said the money belonged to it and was meant for unspecified undercover operations.
An investigative panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo probed the matter and turned in a report to President Muhammadu Buhari which indicted Oke in the scandal. Weeks after he received the report, Buhari announced in October last year that he had accepted its recommendation to terminate Oke’s appointment.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation [SGF] Babachir David Lawal was also sacked on the same day based on the same committee’s report, though for a separate offence.
Apart from Osinbajo, other committee members were National Security Adviser Major General Mohammed Monguno and Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, SAN.
When Daily Trust on Sunday contacted the acting DG Ambassador Mohammed Dauda yesterday, he neither denied nor confirmed the allegation that money was moved from NIA’s vaults.
He however promised to investigate the matter and get back to us, but did not do so before we went to press.

2019 General Election : “If We Lose In The Election, We Will Go Home And Rest - Rotimi Amaechi

Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation, on Saturday spoke on the 2019 general election.
He charged all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work hard to ensure victory for the party in the presidential, governorship and legislative elections.

Amaechi also assured that there would not be imposition of candidates by the APC during this year’s primaries.
He spoke during a reception organized for him as grand patron of Ikwerre Youth Movement (IYM) at the Movement’s national secretariat at Isiokpo, Ikwerre local government area of the state.

His words: “The 2019 elections, especially the governorship, are our last battle. If we win, we will take over Rivers State.
“If we lose in the election, we will go home and rest.
“We will not impose any candidate. Anybody who will go for any position, like chairmanship, should go for primaries.
“Anybody who wins will be the party’s candidate.”

The former Rivers governor said it was important to ensure rotation of power among ethnic nationalities in the state.
He urged members of the APC and IYM register to vote, noting that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State can only be removed through ballot.

“As Ikwerre people, we must give out the power to other ethnic nationalities. But we will be in a position to take it back at any time. Your future is in your hands.
“The President (Muhammadu Buhari) said that there would be no rigging during the 2019 elections. It is to our advantage.

“Go and register to be eligible to vote and to put the candidates of your choice in power”, Amaechi stressed.

For killing a protected animal.




The man charged with killing a huge crocodile in the Fitzroy River has faced court in Rockhamption charged with unlawfully taking a protected animal.

Luke Stephen Orchard, 31, was arrested after police executed two search warrants at his Etna Creek home and seized a number of firearms on December 21.

The male crocodile was found with multiple bullet wounds, including one fatal shot to the head, in late September, 2017.


It was revealed in December that several bullets were pulled from the crocodile's body during a post-mortem examination, and given to the rural Major and Organised Crime Squad to assist their investigation.



According to 9NEWS, Mr Orchard is expected to enter a plea on February 16, when he will return to court.


If found guilty, he could face a hefty fine of $$28,383.75 the maximum penalty for unlawfully killing a protected crocodile.

Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

In an apparent move to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari romps home in his yet-to-be-announced bid for the ruling party’s re-nomination, a strong lobby group within the All Progressives Congress is pushing for elongation of the tenure of the current National Working Committee led by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, THISDAY has learnt. This was as a reliable source within APC confirmed yesterday that the party had decided to give Buhari all necessary support to run for a second term in 2019.

A top party source said the current thinking in the party was that Odigie-Oyegun and his NWC should be allowed to stay in office a little longer to enable them organise the presidential primaries that would endorse Buhari later in the year as the candidate of APC in next year’s presidential election.

Odigie-Oyegun and other members of the NWC were elected on June 13, 2014 for a four-year tenure, which would end this year. Though, the former governor of Edo State can seek re-election as APC national chairman, he is said not to be keen to vie again for reasons bordering on age and political considerations. The tenure elongation idea, THISDAY gathered, has gained ground within the party. Those trying to get him to continue as national chairman, and who are also pushing the Buhari re-election move, believe extending the NWC’s tenure would help to ensure stability and avoid internal disruptions, disaffections, and realignments that usually follow elective conventions. Which is why they are keen to push such contest forward, and have it after Buhari’s endorsement as the APC presidential candidate.

According to the source, the approval for a three-month extension of tenure for the NWC may be sought through a non-elective convention to be held in June. It said Buhari loyalists considered Odigie-Oyegun a more trusted person to deliver the ticket of the party to the president without precipitating crisis. They believe that it would be too risky to take the party through two elective conventions in one year due to the negative fallouts of such exercises. Again, the possibility of not resolving the crisis that may result from the election of new national officers in good time may spell doom for the ruling party ahead of the presidential poll in February next year.

Another argument in support of the retention of Odigie-Oyegun is that since he organised the December 2014 national convention in Lagos, where Buhari emerged presidential candidate of the party, which many saw as a big boost for the party ahead of its victory in the presidential election, he should be allowed to replicate the feat.

It is however, uncertain how a key segment of the party loyal to one of APC’s national leaders who ones called for Odigie-Oyegun’s resignation would react to the attempt to extend his tenure.

Many of the governors elected on the platform of the APC have openly supported Buhari’s second term bid. However, there is no consensus yet on the kind of arrangement that would be adopted to hand the party’s ticket to Buhari without undermining the democratic process and incurring the anger of some critical stakeholders. At the party’s last NEC meeting, members unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Buhari, saying he has performed satisfactorily. The national chairman also got a vote of confidence.

Underscoring the need to retain the national chairman, a chieftain of APC and Director-general of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, told THISDAY yesterday that, “Very few members of our party are in hash tones saying Mr. President should not go for second term, but majority had already endorsed him for a second term. It follows as well that the endorsement of the executive can follow the same line. As it stands in Nigeria today, I will not advise the party go into internal feud, it won’t be in its interest now.”

Okechukwu said that the zoning arrangement in the party, like the other parties in the country, which required the positions of presidential candidate and party chairman to be shared between the northern and southern regions, favoured Odigie-Oyegun’s retention as national chairman. Okechukwu said since Buhari was going for a second term, there was no need for a change of guard at the party’s leadership.

The VON director-general said, “The tradition in liberal democracy has been that if the zoning of the office of the incumbent president is going to remain where it is, the zoning of party national offices naturally falls in the same way because the zoning is either adjudged by the geopolitical considerations or other factors.”

The ruling party has been criticised by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party for failing to hold a convention in the last two years in contravention of its own constitution. However, APC at its last NEC meeting in November tried to correct the anomaly by directing that a non-elective convention be held before the end of 2017. But the leadership of the party shifted the non-elective convention to this year, saying that it would like to align activities leading to its convention with the 2019 election timetable to be released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to the INEC timetable, which was recently released, collection of nomination forms by political parties for national and state elections will be done between August 11 and 24, 2018 while conduct of primaries, including resolution of disputes for national and state elections, will be between August 18 and October 7, 2018. Also primaries for FCT Area Council elections will hold between September 4 and October 27, 2018.

The INEC timetable also fixed commencement of campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections for November 18, 2018, with the campaigns to end February 14, 2019. For the governorship and state assembly elections, the campaigns will commence December 1, 2018 and end on February 28, 2019, according to the timetable.

While speaking last year on the mini convention, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said though no date had been fixed for the non-elective convention, the party had asked NEC to fix dates for all outstanding activities of the party before the main elective convention.

Abdullahi had stated, “Like I said after the NEC meeting, because we were unable to hold the convention at the scheduled time – our mini convention scheduled for July 2017 – that means that all the programmes that the party has would have to dovetail into one another. We have the party’s state congresses coming up, we have the mini convention and the elective convention coming up that must happen by the first half of next year (2018).”

The Senior Pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Abuja, Dr Paul Enenche, has declared that it was high time people started defending themselves against those killing people in Nigeria either in the name of politics or religion.

The fiery preacher affirmed that people would no longer fold their arms and watch others maim and waste them for no reason.

He gave this message barely 24 hours after pouring out his heart on the senseless killings of Nigerians in Benue, Taraba States and other parts of the country.


Speaking on a Friday evening service monitored by IDOMA VOICE, the cleric backed his call for self defense from both the bible and the Nigerian constitution.

He recalled how God humbled former Libyan dictator, Mummar Gaddafi when he tried to call for the disintegration of Nigeria some years back.

His words, "It is time for us to pray to God to whom vengeance belongs to show himself in Nigeria.

"One of the greatest challenges that can happen on earth is the challenge of ignorance.

"I am sure you are aware of what I may call the war of attrition from a certain select group of people that want to relentlessly and continuously attack and weary communities into submission in Nigeria.

"But I announce that anybody who is interested in the destruction of Nigeria, destruction shall never leave his generation.

"Whoever and wherever that person is, either in this nation or outside this land because our history told us that nobody ever interested in the destruction of Nigeria ever survived.

"I know of a man called Gaddafi (of Libya), who about the years 2010/2011 was dictating what should happen in Nigeria.

"At a point, he suggested that Nigeria should be divided along religious line.

"And there seemed to be suggestions that he had a hand in what was happening in the nation as at then - to destroy lives.

"But the question is, where is Gaddafi and his generation today?

"I say this as a signal to anybody across the length and breadth of this nation that anyone interested in the wastage of Nigeria, may God waste him and his generation.

"In Benue, just yesterday, about 75 people were given a mass burial because of some satanic vagabonds but enough is enough.

"Let me say two things before we pray because we have a high level of ignorance.

"Nobody has the right to take another man’s life either it is in the name of religion or politics, or cultism. Under

Our constitution, the right to life is guaranteed under section 33 sub section 1 of the 1999 constitution as amended.


It says, "everybody has the right to life and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life safe in execution of the sentence of a court in respect if a criminal of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria.

"I announce that anybody wasting lives in this nation, the same way shall his generation be wasted.

"Now, hear this, whatever a person does to prevent himself from being killed is not an offence. It is in the constitution.

"Section 59 of the penal code says, nothing is an offence of which is done in the lawful exercise of the right of private defense.

"Also, section 60 of the penal code provides that;

"The right of private defense extends to;

(a) the defense of his own body and body of any other person against any offense affecting the human body.

(b) the property either movable or immovable of himself or of any other person against any act which is an offence under the definition of theft, robbery, mischief or criminal trespass or which is an attempt to commit any of those offences.

"In other words, it is not an offence for someone to defend himself or another from being killed.

"So what is the useless nonsense about those who think they have the claim to take life at will and go unarrested and unharassed. The end of it has come. Enough is enough.

Lets back it up from the bible.

"Gen 9:6 says, who Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man. so sheeded man’s blood by man.

"Meaning the killer is qualified for killing.

"That action is not an offence because he came to finish people and the people gathered and finished him. Those people did nothing wrong.

"Exodus 22:2 summed it up thus: If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

"Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Proverbs 26:27.

Also in Rev 13:1 "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Did you read what the penal code said, “you are entitled to defend yourself and another person around, against attackers, and you want to watch them waste your wife and children?

"They went into one house, pulled down everybody, ripped woman’s pregnancy open, plucked out the eyes of a little boy and left him alive with the two eyes plucked out. Enough is enough.

"Let’s look at what Jesus said about self defense.

"Matthew 26:51-52. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

"From what we read, are you not surprised a disciple was following Jesus with a knife?

"Jesus never asked him to throw away the knife, Jesus never questioned him how he got the sword, Jesus was never surprised that his own disciple was going about with him with a knife. He didn't tell him, why go about with a knife, don't you believe in prayers?

"Dont be deceived, everything people need is in the Bible.

"I thought Jesus would be surprised seeing his own disciple carrying a knife, but rather, he told him to keep the knife back, for this occasion I am meant to die. He said don't use it now, keep it back because you may need it later

"And i am not asking you to use it to fight or attack people, but in case they come near you...

Also in Luke 22:35-36 "And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

"Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

It means a time will come when the sword would be more important than the garment.

"I dated her for 8 yrs, never had sex with her, took care of her, after her MSc, she dumped me" - Man shares story

Heard this and almost cried my eyes off. Each time I get to hear some ladies say, "men are scum", I seldom keep quiet because I have loads of stories and experiences which when shared will not only silence them but may change their mentality about the "men are scum phrase." So, a friend visited my house days back, whilst gisting, he shared a story about a bosom friend of his, who almost committed suicide over the girl he dated. We will use Mr. I as the boyfriend and Ms. I as the girlfriend. I will try as much as possible to cut the long story short.

According to him, Mr. I had been dating Ms. I since 2008, he was in the university then, 200 level to be precise, whilst she was about finishing secondary school. And like many young lovers, everything was good and going fine except the usual "childish mentality" from both parties of course.

Things kept blossoming, everything soft and nice. She got into the university, a private Nigerian university, fortunately for Mr. I, it wasn't one of those universities where phones weren't allowed, so they kept communicating and in fact, since the relationship gradually started maturing, their love kept shinning bright like a diamond.. So bright that other male chyker's couldn't approach Ms. I because almost everyone in campus knew she was "bae-gaged." Yes, she was that proud of her bae then.

Mr. I never missed the opportunity of leaving his university to visit her every weekend, notwithstanding the distance.. Oh, I forgot to tell you, he schooled in far away East, whilst she schooled in the West. And the journey from his university to hers took him 7-8 hours by road and of course, he always used road except extreme cases where he decided to use flight.

Not only did he risk his life plying  bad roads every weekend just to see bae, he also made sure he got stuffs for her, food stuffs and sometimes money (He took it upon himself to bring provisions and money two weekends out of four, monthly). Indeed, bae was balling, no wonder she was so bae-gaged!

And whenever they were on break, back to their respective homes (fortunately they both lived in Lagos), he was with her almost every other day. In fact, both parents knew they were dating. Yes, and they both approved of it. Indeed, Mr. I was happy, he had the acceptance of bae's family members and of course, the heart of bae (So he thought).


A couple of times, when bae resumed a new semester and Mr. I was still home, boss-man will take it upon himself to fuel his car and drive his woman to her uni, not only that, sometimes took provisions to bae's siblings' schools too. Mr. I was in love, so he just wanted to make her family members love him more.. Every guy who has truly loved, will know this feeling.. 

"Mans" was usually broke in school because of bae, you know, bae schooled in a private university and lifestyle was more expensive there. Of course, to please bae and make her family know he was man enough, Mr. I usually soaked garri in his hostel whilst he sent the food stuffs given to him by his parents to his girl.. Love nwantiti right?

Fast forward to his graduation, he got a job which wasn't well-paying like that, but always made sure 50% of his salary went to bae's account. Yes a whole 50%.. (It was at this point I literally started tearing up. A tear dropped from my eye and I am certain my friend saw this. If only he knew that I was tearing up because I couldn't really fathom how mans was so in love that he forgot there is a difference between a girlfriend and a wife). Worst still is, he hadn't even engaged her yet! Oh my gosh!!!!



Well, love was still there (so he thought). All through the years of dating, spending, killing himself to please she and her family, he never for once had any sexual relation with her. Never for once, because she claimed to be a virgin. The best he ever got was a kiss.. A kiss bruh!

Fast forward to when she graduated from university, Mr. I threw a big party for her. Hosted over 30 people (friends and family). Spent close to N650K on the bash (Unbeknownst to his siblings, he borrowed a huge sum of money from his friends so as to make the party a huge success)... And a huge one it was (At this point I started thinking, If only he had engaged her at the bash he threw for her, maybe things would have turned out differently)... Well, who knows, right?





Months after she graduated, he lost favour from his employers, so he was sacked. Things dwindled from his end so his usual 50% to his bae, stopped. 3 months after he lost his job, bae informed him she was going to study abroad, going for her masters' program in Russia. (Funny thing is, she never told him when she even applied nor got accepted). Well, she apologised, he forgave and they were still chilling.

Weeks later, it was time for her to travel, he dropped her off at the airport, they did the usual (kissed and bid themselves goodbyes right in front of her fam.. Yes, they were that close you know!).

Chatting, skyping, doing all sort of things, all these lasted for 3 to 4 months of her stay in Russia. Things became bad afterwards, communication not only dwindled but it dissolved, "mans" was no longer getting attention, "mans" was confused yet still going to bae's house to help out in one or two errands for fam.


To cut the long story short..... Few weeks before she was done with her programme, she sent a text, which read, "We can't be together anymore, I am sorry." .... That was all, 8 years and that's all she sent. No explanation as to why she wanted to call quits. (Cold right?)

Mr. I lost it at this point, became severely depressed, in fact, he was almost going insane. He had to be on drugs. Severally tried suicide but luckily for him, his younger brother came to the rescue. He was eventually admitted in Lagoon for 5 weeks. This was the period bae came back. Bad thing is, she didn't even bother informing him she was coming back and worst thing is, when she eventually heard he was hospitalised, she didn't step her foot in Lagoon hospital.. A cruel world right?

Right as we speak, Mr. I has been in and out of hospital, going through one or two crisis. He has lost touch of reality and become a shadow of himself, whereas Ms. I hasn't bothered seeing him since she came back to Nigeria and in fact, is about to be wed in April 2018.

Love is a beautiful thing only and when it is true and mutual so children of the world, love with your heart, but use your brain!

_*Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).*_

One important blessing you should crave and desire to walk in is the grace of giving. Giving is a grace. When that grace is at work in your life, every opportunity to give becomes for you a celebration, especially knowing that God is always the last giver. No one can ever out-give Him. That’s why whenever He asks you to give or when there’s a call to give, you ought to respond swiftly. This is something you must practise consciously.

Some unwisely hold on to that which they’re supposed to give to the Lord, not realizing that God only asks us to give so we can be launched into the next level of our prosperity in Him. Another reason you must always be prompt to give is that your financial seeds to God could sometimes serve as ransom for your life against evil. Proverbs 13:8 says, _*“The ransom of a man’s life are his riches….”*_

You need to realize that though Satan is a defeated foe, he’s a rebel, who continuously seeks to snare God’s people. Don’t give him a chance in your life. Sowing special seed-offerings is one sure way to obliterate every hindrance he places in your path.

Testimonies abound of people who were delivered in desperate or terminal situations after they gave a special seed-offering. That offering became the ransom for their lives! Many in the Bible experienced and wrought miraculous victories through their sacrificial giving.

Luke 6:38 says, _*“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”*_ The promise is to the giver. The Lord will multiply the seeds that you sow, and cause you to inherit greater substance as you give.

Moreover, your blessings on financial giving don’t necessarily have to be in money. There’re several other blessings that accrue to you as a giver, some of which are by far greater than immediate financial returns. So, each time you have the opportunity to give, be excited, because it means the Spirit of God is doing something in your life that’ll affect the course of your destiny.

Three policemen attached to Amukoko Division by names and service numbers: 25759 Sgt. Osaseri Saturday, 35 9075 Sgt. Segun Okun, 496833 Cpl. Adekunle Oluwarotimi have been tried and dismissed from the Nigeria Police for breeching the rules of engagement to wit reckless application of firearms.

The aforementioned Non Commissioned Officers(NCOs), committed the offence on the 11/01/2018, at about 2130 hours, at Ifelodun street, Amukoko, Lagos state when they disproportionately responded with bullets fired from their weapons at some youths alleged to have hurled some non ballistic missiles at them such as stones, sticks and bottles leading to the death of one of the youths and injury on another.

They were arrested, detained and tried immediately on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos state, CP Edgal Imohimi. The guilty verdict was passed on them by the Adjudicating officer who considered that the officers did not appreciate the situation critically and ought not to have applied the maximum force on the unruly youths.

Meanwhile the officers will be charged to court next week, while a duplicate copy of the Casefile would be sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecution( DPP) for legal advice.

Sequel to the above occurrence, the Commissioner of Police has directed all the Area Commanders and DPOs in Lagos state to warn their men against misapplication of force. He further warned that officers must abide by the Rules of Engagement ( ROE) as stipulated in Force Order 237.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the recent killings in Benue, Taraba by Fulani Herdsmen.

Jonathan, in a press statement by his Media Reps, condoled with the victims and also responded to reports that 756 people were killed in his tenure by Fulani Herdsmen.

The statement read;

'"Former President Jonathan wishes to express his condolences to the government and people of Benue, Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa and Nasarawa states, over the recent spate of killings occasioned by herdsmen/farmers clashes.

"His heart bleeds for the sufferings of Nigerians and he calls on the authorities to do everything in their power to put an end to these needless killings.

"Having said that, let it be known that we find the statement by the Presidency stating that 756 Nigerians were killed by Fulani herdsmen in two years under the government of former President Jonathan as a mischievous assertion by a callous Presidential spokesman who thinks that death is something to be trivialized.

"For the avoidance of doubt, let it be known that the figure of 756 is wrong. But the issue is not that it is a false figure, the issue is that former President Jonathan was not inactive in the face of Fulani herdsmen killings during his Presidency.

"While in office, the former President knew that the capacity of the Nigerian police would be challenged by the sophistication of arms available to the herdsmen and so after he was elected President and sworn in on May 29, 2011, former President Jonathan summoned a National Security Council meeting and ordered that Fulani herdsmen attack must be decisively dealt with.

"In July 2012, the Plateau state government reported that herdsmen killings had reached a head in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area leading to tens of deaths of Nigerian citizens by Fulani herdsmen, many of whom were not even Nigerian citizens.

"Then President Jonathan, when briefed about the situation insisted that there would not be such impunity under his leadership and immediately ordered the army and the Air Force to go to the affected communities and fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book.

"The military immediately obeyed the then President's orders and sent troops and helicopters to Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. They ordered all residents to leave their residence for temporary accommodation provided for them so they could conduct a joint air and ground operation to flush out the armed herdsmen who had been suspected of killing innocent Nigerians.

"The residents complied and the soldiers went in and not only did they clear the area, they made arrests which led to trials and convictions.

"We wish to remind Nigerians that when this episode was being carried out, it was precisely members of the opposition who later became the All Progressive Congress that heavily criticized then President Jonathan's orders.

"In fact, a prominent member of the APC and now the Governor of Kaduna State and a known confidante of the President, Malam Nasir El-Rufai tweeted his now infamous tweet on the 15th of July 2012 threatening that 'We will write this for all to read. Anyone, soldier or not that kills the Fulani takes a loan repayable one day no matter how long it takes.' (his exact words).

"So the question Nigerians need to ask instead of allowing themselves to be distracted by the statement from the Presidency is this: Are Nigerians now repaying the 'loan' that El-Rufai threatened to make Nigeria repay?

"If the then President was not active in decisively sending the military after herdsmen, why would El-Rufai have been so pained to have made such a statement?

"Let it be known that the former President views herdsmen who kill unprovoked and with the intention of advancing their own economic and other interests as terrorists, pure and simple.

"Not only did he treat them as terrorists, he also put the military on high alert to protect Nigerian lives."

Ivory worth $469,800 smuggled from Nigeria has been seized in Thailand, customs officials said on Friday, January 12.

Three elephant tusks and 31 ivory pieces weighing a combined 148 kilograms were seized at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Kulit Sombatsiri, director general of the customs department told a press conference.

The smuggled goods were shipped from Lagos to Bangkok on an Ethiopian Airlines flight on December 20.

Two weeks later, as no one came to pick up the packages, airport officials opened them up to find the smuggled goods, Kulit said.

Ivory trade has been outlawed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), but smuggling from Africa into Asia persists.

Thai customs officials believe ivory smuggled through Thailand is intended for China, one of the world's biggest consumers of ivory products.

Since October 2016, Thai customs agents have seized more than 1 billion dollars' worth of smuggled endangered species and their products in 52 separate cases.

“This restructuring might not necessarily be done in the way that people are suggesting; but we need a restructuring that is based on the foundation of equity and honesty where everyone is treated equally. We need to return to the ideals of our founding fathers so as to keep the nation moving.”
While also raising the alarm over the abduction and giving out of underage Christian girls into marriage by force to people “most times old enough to be their fathers,” ECWA called on the Federal Government to check the trend which it best described as “evil practice.”
It added, “The Fulani herdsmen emerged from nowhere and continue to unleash mayhem on innocent citizens in the central and other parts of this country. The silence of government in this regard leaves so much to be desired. It seems approval has been given by the government. If not, why has there not been any conviction in a court of law?

As the rain semester examination of the Obafemi Awolowo University approaches, It's been close to two weeks now that the academic areas of the university has been in total darkness.

The academics area which covers the lecture theatres and offices of the lecturers cum administrative section of the school can be said to be facing huge huddles of electricity which has been a major set back of normal lecturing activities.

It will be recalled that the school Management recently released the amended calendar which stated 29th of January as the beginning of 2016/2017 rain semester examination which is just few days to go, the students has found it difficult as the university library is under lock&key with the only option left for the students to read which is the academics area in total darkness.

Apart from difficulties reading at night, due to the blackout, practicals/laboratory works has been put on hold especially for students in the faculty of Science, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Technology etc.

It's also been inferred that some departments are not done with their tests which is prerequisite to the examination, their students and the generality of the great Ife students are now to prepare under darkness and health destroying candles to source light to cover their reading thirst with the popular Awolowo Cafe& Halls of residence now on new colour as it's always full to the brim.


However, the school management has not made any release to the community over the blackout. According to a source, a lecturer who pleaded anonymity, said that "the school Vice Chancellor communicated to the lecturers to bear with the the administration over the hitches caused by the electricity disruption around academic areas." He added that "it was caused by the fault in the cable connection which those in charge(non-academic staff) to rectify the scourge(faulty cable) has been on strike over allowance issue. 

Speaking with OAU Peeps News Agency, a student of the Department of Economics, Ologbenla Tolu caught reading in AUD 2 said that "the management has always taken their success with levity adding that ever since resumption from the End of the break, the university library has been locked coupled with blackout in the academics area."

Also speaking , Olushola Oludiran, a student of English while lamenting on the state of the school said " the management should please rectify the light so that students will be able to read and prepare well for their coming exams".

Akande Azeezat of Psychology Department reading with lamps in ODLT 1 pleaded that the management should devise every possible means to make up the light before the examination period.

Meanwhile, Olateju Oluwasegun RAY added that the current situation came to stay with no fear of its repercussion on the university management as the management has been able to kill the consciousness of students, bring disunity among students and render students powerless in making demands for their rights through the serial proscription of the students' union knowing fully well that it is easier to win a struggle as a body and not as individuals. He further added that as long as students continue to manage with the bad situation, he foresee more anti-student policies as from next session.

However, Speaking with OAU Peeps News Agency on telephone,the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. I.O Aransi refused to comment on the black out of the university academic area.

Men believed to be the late Plaxedis “Nadia” Mashumba’s sex clients and fellow sex workers mimicked the late ‘thigh’ vendor’s antics as they laid her to rest.

Female and male condoms and tissue paper were also thrown in her grave while some splashed both opaque and clear beer on her coffin.

Some belted into song gyrating to the traditional drums while others wept uncontrollably during the procession.

The self-confessed hookers mimicked the deceased’s antics before her burial and mourners jostled to catch the glimpse of the drama with some taking turns to record videos.

So ‘refreshing’ was the drama as one of Nadia’s close friends in body-hugging dress exposing her asserts and curves stole the show while imbibing a quart of Black Label beer which happened to be the late hooker’s favourite.

And more drama occurred at the homestead as relatives and villagers disassociated themselves with Nadia who had long forgotten her roots.

It, however, took a taxi driver – Madzibaba Itai Chikosha – who used to give Nadia transport for errands, to intervene and lead burial proceedings after the Harare contingent reached a stalemate with her relatives.

“When we arrived in Seke communal lands, the situation was tense as relatives were not willing to accord her a decent burial.

“We discovered that she had long lost contact with them and she was no longer visiting them as she concentrated on her job as a sex worker before she succumbed to cervical cancer early this week.

“She was well known in all pubs in the capital for being flamboyant, classy and of course looking down upon fellow prostitutes she competed with for clients, especially at City Sports Bar and Holly’s Hotel where she was popular with clients,” said the source.

Despite being showy and pretending to be a rich, said the source, Nadia was not even looking after her children.

“It’s sad to learn that despite all the money she made as a hooker, she was not looking after her two children.

“She died aged 36 and she is survived by a son and daughter and I hear the daughter stays at an orphanage,” said the source.

Worried by the security and economic situations plaguing Nigerians, human rights activist and senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to forget his ambition of running for a second term next year and address the enormous challenges in the country today.
In the same vein, the Tor Tiv and paramount ruler of the Tiv nation, Prof James Ortese Ayatse, while condemning “the barbaric, unprovoked attacks and killings” of his subjects by marauding Fulani herdsmen, insisted it was a well-planned, coordinated genocide against his people.
The Tor Tiv, who is also the Chairman of Benue State Council of Chiefs, added: “It is our belief that the whole thing is targeted and well-planned and it is nothing short of ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Tiv nation.”

According Sani, the President and his second term campaigners have no basis to seek for the votes of Nigerians when Fulani herdsmen and kidnappers have waged unrelenting war against many communities in the country, with scores killed and properties destroyed.
The senator said: “It is wrong to be talking of the re-election of Buhari as President when hundreds of lives are being lost and people are being massacred in different parts of the country.
“In time of bloodshed like this, the issue should be how to come together and address the problem. But those marketing the President at a time of this bloodshed are like people dancing on the graves of Nigerians.
“Campaigning for Buhari for next year’s election when people are being killed, when orphans and widows are being produced as a result of the tragedy of these circumstances and people are being kidnapped, I think amounts to political sacrilege.
“It is an insult on the conscience of Nigerians and it is an insult on the moral integrity of Nigerians for anybody to ignore what is happening and simply walk to the President and tell him that what is important at this material time is his re-election campaign for next year’s election.”
He lamented the level of attacks and killings by armed Fulani herdsmen in Benue, saying: “If we allow this trend to continue, it would threaten the peace and unity of this country.
“I advise people advising the President and strategising for him to contest the elections to spare him some time, advise him well and provide a solid strategy to end the carnage and atrocities that is going on in the country today.
“Human life is more important than politics, because you cannot preside over dead people. The images we see in both social and traditional media is heart-rending and despicable.
“I can tell you that over a year ago, the President was in Zamfara State in military fatigue to address the problem of banditry and mass killing. The President should be seen in any part of the country where such violence occurs.
“The President must visit Southern Kaduna, Birnin Gwari, Taraba, Benue, Rivers and Adamawa states. It gives people some hope that their Commander-in-Chief is determined and committed to defend and protect them.”
The Tor Tiv, speaking on the comment penultimate Friday by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, that the killings were due to communal crisis, stated: “We don’t share borders with the Fulanis, so for them to move from wherever they are to come and attack us and somebody considers it a communal crisis, I think I need to learn English Language again.”
With regards to the President not visiting the state over the killings, he said: “In times like this, when we are under attack, brutally wounded and in sorrow, we need his comfort and encouragement.

The Federal Government yesterday vowed that no airline would fold up under its watch, assuring that the takeover of Arik and Aero Contractors was a deliberate decision to save the airline industry.

Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika stated this on Friday during the formal roll out ceremony of Aero Contractors Airline’s 5N-BLG Aircraft that successfully completed C-check maintenance exercise at Aero MRO facility in Lagos.
 
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had approved the Maintenance Organization making Aero, the oldest indigenous carrier, the only airline in the West and Central Africa conducting C-check on B737 classics aircraft.
 
Sirika, who was represented by the Commissioner of Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Engr. Akin Olateru said the feat by Aero was a fall-out of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s promise to bring about positive change in the Nigerian polity.
 
“Under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, we vowed not to allow airlines fail and go under”, he declared, adding that the takeover of Aero and Arik by the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has paid off.
 
Noting that Boeing 737 classics are the most common aircraft used by Nigerian carriers, he said the country has been experiencing capital flights of not less than 90m dollars any time the aircraft go for C-check.
 
“Prior to now and in the lifespan of any administration, Nigeria experienced huge capital flight of nothing less than $1.8m and $3m per Boeing aircraft that left our shores for C-checks and there are more than 30 of such aircrafts operating, so you do the arithmetric. All that is about to end with this initiative birthed by Aero Contractors”, he said.
 
Managing Director and CEO of AMCON, Ahmed Kuru represented by the Executive Director, Operations, Mr. Aminu Ismail said the completion of the C-check justifies AMCON’s resolve to develop and stabilize “our challenged aviation sector”.
 
He reiterated that the intervention in Aero and other airlines was to the organization “a national assignment geared towards both our resolution objective and the need to help in rebuilding the Nigerian economy”.
 
“As a Recovery Agency of the Federal Government, it was not for us an option to stand aloof and watch while airlines such as Aero with its rich history and others be grounded as a result of challenges in management and governance, plus accumulated debt obligations”, he said.
 
Director General of NCAA, Capt. Muktar Usman represented by the Director of Airworthiness Standard, Engr. Ita Awak said Aero Maintenance Organization was taken through rigorous process before securing the approval in order to ensure that the enterprise does not compromise safety in any manner. The DG however recommended the maintenance organization to airlines.

The son of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf Buhari has been discharged from the hospital says the presidency. The President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the development on Friday on his Twitter handle. Yusuf, was admitted into Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, on December 26, 2017 following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, had earlier hinted that Yusuf will be discharged when he released a by the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Felix Ogedegbe, dated January 12, 2018. The statement noted that Yusuf underwent successful emergency surgical operations by Cedarcrest Hospital’s team of neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons. After which his condition improved remarkably and he was transferred from intensive care to the ward. “His extremely speedy response to treatment so far is testimony to the world-class early care he has received here in Cedarcrest, Abuja. We are grateful to His Excellency, President Buhari and Her Excellency the First Lady Mrs. Aisha Buhari for the confidence in us and for allowing us to look after Yusuf. This show of confidence goes a long way to strengthen our collective belief in our resolve to offer world-class health care locally. Trump Uses 'Slur' To Describe Immigrants From Haiti, Africa




President Donald Trump reportedly lashed out in a Thursday meeting with lawmakers about immigration reform, demanding to know why the US should accept citizens from what he called "shithole" countries.

Trump sat down with senators and congressmen at the White House to discuss a proposed bipartisan deal that would limit immigrants from bringing family members into the country and restrict the green card visa lottery in exchange for shielding hundreds of thousands of young immigrants from deportation.

"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Trump said, according to people briefed on the meeting who spoke with The Washington Post.

The New York Times later reported the same comment, citing unnamed people with direct knowledge of the meeting.

The president was referring to African countries and Haiti, and then suggested the United States should welcome immigrants from places like Norway, whose prime minister met with Trump on Wednesday.

The comments alarmed and mystified the people attending the meeting.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Dick Durbin came to the White House to outline their bipartisan compromise, but found themselves in the room with several Republican immigration hardliners.

Graham and Durbin are leading efforts to codify protections for so-called "dreamers," immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children.

In exchange, the deal would end extended family chain migration.

It also reportedly would cut the visa lottery program by half and prioritize certain countries in the system, instead of scrapping it altogether as several Republicans have suggested as part of an agreement.

The president and lawmakers are in the midst of intense negotiations about how to shield nearly 800,000 "dreamers" from deportation.

Last year, Trump scrapped the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that protected the immigrants, and set a deadline of March 5 for Congress to legislate a fix.

The White House did not deny the account of Trump's use of language, but instead suggested the president was "fighting for permanent solutions" that strengthen the nation, in part through the use of a merit-based immigration system.

"Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people," White House spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement.

"He will always reject temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway."

Some Democrats seized on Trump's slur to suggest he is anti-immigrant.

"We always knew that President Trump doesn't like people from certain countries or people or certain colors," congressman Luis Gutierrez said.

"We can now we say with 100% confidence that the president is a racist who does not share the values enshrined in our Constitution."

Former Plateau state governor, David Jonah Jang, has lambasted Governor, Simon Lalong, over his comments on killings in Benue state.

Jang also condemned Lalong for attacking Governor Samuel Ortom over the anti-grazing law which became effective November 1, 2017.

Comrade Clinton Garuba, Jang’s media aide in a statement on Friday, said it was sad that Lalong who “accidentally stumbled on power” will continue on the path of infamy at the detriment of the very people who he swore an oath to protect.

”At a time when the mood of the nation, nay, the states that have continued to suffer decapitation at the hands of marauding killer herdsmen should be sober, it is unfortunate that some one of Governor Lalong’s standing will utter words that will be an insult on the sensitivity of the people, especially of Benue State.

”This is unfortunate not only coming from the Governor but on a day when the Government and people of Benue State held a mass burial for Hapless women and children who were murdered on the first day of the Year, ordinarily a day of jubilation.

While the people of Benue were at the funeral of their lost brethren, Lalong, in his usual manner was playing to the gallery in Abuja with a view to scurrying cheap political points and portray himself as an insider of the Buhari administration.

At times when, one lacks what to say or would say what is irrelevant, especially in calming frayed nerves, silence become golden. When people who trot around as leaders cannot conduct themselves in that manner, it is only a pointer to the fact that they were never prepared at all for leadership.

”Thankfully, the days and months ahead leads us to another electioneering period and with the wisdom Nigerians now have, having suffered all kinds of hardship including escalating insecurity occasioned by herdsmen, it is only a matter of time before the right people will be put in the right places of authority.

”It is unfortunate that Plateau State which has suffered the brunt of the killer herdsmen in the modern-day Nigeria, was left out of a meeting to discuss an issue as important as finding lasting solutions to the farmer/herdsmen clashes a prominent feature in the North Central geopolitical zone. When Governors of state s such as Kaduna, Niger, Nasarawa, Taraba and Benue were invited and participated at that meeting, Plateau which should be chief on the list was conspicuously missing.

”Alas! The Governor of Plateau State was not even in the country and on return one would have expected loud protest by the Governor but he was in Abuja, perhaps discussing a role in the 2019 re-election project.

”That Governor Lalong had the temerity to insinuate that the Governor of Benue State Governor is responsible for the massacre of his people by implementing a people-oriented law to safeguard his people, is the height of wickedness. If anything, the Governor of Benue State deserves the condolences from Governor Lalong and not those comment attributed to him.

”For this reason, the only assuaging thing for Gov. Lalong to do at the moment is to tender an unreserved apology to the Government and people of Benue State for those unnecessary and unsavory comments, which at best could be described as an insult.

”Governance is not for the lilly livered and if people like Gov. Ortom has decided to work in the best interest of his people, those who cannot should look from a distance without trying to tarnish the image of those 1determined to protect those who elected them.

Today’s men of power must recognise that power is transient and that posterity which judge them for their actions or inactions. Generations yet unborn will hear of how people looked the other way as their kinsmen were massacred while they pandered to the powers that be in pursuit of political relevance.

”On the Plateau, countless number of people have been murdered in the last couple of months in Bassa, Riyom, Jol, etc, one wonders therefore where the Governor resides that he speaks so much about peace in the State. The much talked about peace of the Governor as we know and has been on the altar of acceptance of the policies that will naturally dispossess the people of the ancestral lands and increase pitch a section of the populace the people against one another.

”Plateau people, especially of the Northern zone which Senator Jonah Jang represents say NO to grazing reserves and will not accept the confiscation of their ancestral land for the purpose of creating reserves, colonies or whatever they may be called.

”Gov. Lalong speaks for himself, as far as the people of Plateau North Senatorial zone are concerned. We have already suffered too much loss in the hands of the killer herdsmen to allow an entrenchment of their feudalistic and genocidal tendencies. If the Governor claims to have people already donating lands for the purpose of grazing reserves or cattle colonies, I wonder who these people are and brings home ant-infested wood and refuses to court the visit of lizards.

”The vehemence with which Plateau people reject any policy that undermines the peace for which they are known is as potent today as it will always be. Governor Lalong is on his own and alone this path of self-destruct which he has chosen.

”Lalong is a downward ride and has descended so low to the extent that he has lost his humanity, if he can’t console the Government and people of Benue State, then, his silence at this time is golden.

”To regain his humanity, it is only humanly possible that he apologises to the Government and people of Benue State.”

“My position is that we really do not need people like Buhari in 2019. It is now clear that the youth would no longer be allowed to be used by any politician any more.

“Anybody above 60 should go and rest peacefully or go back to the farm or do something differently for himself,” he said

“Of course, it is obvious that this government cannot do anything from now till the next one year. Already two years down the line, we have not seen anything. I do not see the government doing any magic or performing any miracle in the next one year. It is not possible because the politics of 2019 has already started. Some of us have been patient enough to see if we can see something different from what has been happening.

“Of all they said about the change mantra, we have seen that there is nothing different and the situation is even worse than what we used to have. So, to that extent, the battle line is drawn. Come 2019, we would no longer waste our time on any old politician.

“The old politician both in the Senate, presidential seat and all that should go back home and rest. They cannot use their yesterday and use our today. They cannot waste their own generation and continue to waste our own. The party is over and it is about a new dawn. Whether you are from the North, South or wherever, we must work together to get it right this time around.

“In 2019, I will campaign that any youth is encouraged to get his PVC. That is their power. Through electoral processes, we would ensure that we render those old men jobless. There is no going back about that. So, my own position is that whether they perform or not which is even impossible, they should go.

“My position is very clear that anybody above 60 years should go and rest. We cannot continue to manage all these old politicians. We cannot continue to be ‘sit down and look’ people. Our ‘mumu is ok for now’. We have younger men who are very competent and would take the country to the next level.

“Anybody above 60 who is against our generation is committing suicide because our generation has come of age and we must stand the challenges. Power is not given by anybody, it is taken and a time has come for our generation to sit down together. No matter our differences, we have to ensure that we move the country forward so that our country can become what it should be and we can build the nation of our dreams,” he added.

When asked if the youths have the wherewithal to dislodge the many very rich in the conservative political class in the country, he said with God there was nothing impossible.

“Do you agree with me that with God all things are possible? That is the answer. I believe in God and I believe that with God all things are possible. Nobody would have imagined that despite all odds, and all the enemies around Buhari, he later in 2015 emerged as the president. Nothing is impossible. If that happened to him, it means that it could happen to anybody. We only need to have faith in the nation and to be very determined.”

The president is yet to officially declare his intention to contest for the 2019 election.

Already, seven governors had already endorsed the President should he seek re-elecrion.

Last year, a bid to secure an automatic ticket for him from his party failed.

Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has berated the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari by Northern governors.

Seven Northern governors after a meeting with President Buhari declared him fit to run for a second term based on their belief in his governance.

El-Rufai among other governors told state correspondents that Buhari is leading the country in the right direction, therefore, needs to seek re-election.


Fayose, however, described comments by the northern governors in time of fuel scarcity and herdsmen killing as unfair to the plights of Nigerians.

Quote:TWO suspects have been arrested by men of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly using super glue to seal the mouth of an 89 year woman, Imasogbonre Enahoro, to prevent her for shouting for help.

A third suspect is said to be on the run.

After searching the house and finding no money the robbers made away with a Toyota Camry car which they drove to Osun State.

Marylyn identified one of the suspects at the police headquarters as the person who slapped her mother and applied super glue to shut her mouth.

She said the incident happened at about 5pm and that it was her husband that eventually untied them on his return from work.

Kingsley, one of the suspects who claimed to be a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, said it was Tosin that brought the robbery plan.

“When we got to Mama’s place, she had no money to give to us. Two of us were outside and Tosin went inside. We found only N7,200 inside the car.

“I did not know that this Mama’s mouth was glued because I waited outside. We have not sold the car. Tosin said he wants to use the car but we told him there is no way we can stay with him in Osun State. I couldn’t stay in his father’s house without doing anything. The car is still in Osun State.”

Police Commissioner, Babatunde Kokumo, said the suspects would soon be charged to court.

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has released telephone numbers for the people of the state to call in case they sight herdsmen moving around.

The governor had two days ago met with hunters in the state, with a charge to them to prevent herdsmen from causing havoc in the state.

A statement on Friday by the Special Adviser on Public Communications and New Media to the Governor, Lere Olayinka, gave the telephone numbers as: 08104780752, 09070769294, 09038122504 and 08104730482.

The statement added: “Members of the public should endeavour to call any of the numbers or send SMS in the event of strange movement of herdsmen and other suspected criminal elements in the State.

“The phone lines will be on 24 hours.”

Fourteen Nigerians have already been moved to a jail in Medina apparently in preparation for the hangman’s noose. That has sent shivers down their spines forcing them to dispatch a Save-Our-Souls message to President Muhammadu Buhari to do all within his powers to save them from being slaughtered like cows.

They were 15 in number but one of them was executed last year as a common criminal.

The manner, in which Yusuf Yakubu Ajiboye from Kwara State was arrested, hurriedly tried and subsequently killed, made them to entertain fear for their lives and came to the conclusion that the long knife was indeed awaiting them.


“We know they are preparing to kill us but before we die, we are pleading with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to look into the charges preferred against us and see if indeed, we have been given fair hearing for the offences they claim we committed, and whether the Saudi authorities have treated us well under the law,” one of the suspects said in a leaked document made available to Saturday Vanguard from Riyadh.


“They claim that we peddled drugs and committed other drug-related offences, which according to them carry death penalty but we want Nigeria to intervene and give us another chance to live,” the suspect pleaded on behalf of the rest being detained in preparation for their execution in the Middle East country.

Among the Nigerians in the Medina Prison awaiting execution are: Lolo Babatunde, Biola Lawal, Hafis Amosu, Jimoh Ishola, Tunde Ibrahim, Abdurimi Aweda, Adam Abubakar, Amode Tunde, Adewumi Adepoju, Saka Riyau, Aliu Muhammed, Abdul Raman, Yekini Yahaya and two other women.

Many other Nigerians arrested for drug-related offences have also been detained at Jedda, Mecca and Riyadh prisons in Saudi Arabia, awaiting execution.

Sources close to the suspects told Saturday Vanguard that there are no fewer than 25 Nigerian drug suspects being detained in several prisons in Saudi Arabia with the ultimate aim of executing them since the offence carried the maximum death penalty in that country.

But their fear has heightened since they claimed that they contacted the Nigerian Embassy in Riyadh and pleaded with them to take action to at least free them from that country’s jail and repatriate them to Abuja to either live or die and be buried on their father land, but regretted that the appeal fell on deaf ears.

“Our government should act fast to save our lives from the hangman’s noose because delay is dangerous in this case,” one of the suspects told Saturday Vanguard.

The Nigerian Government confirmed yesterday, that it was aware of the detained Nigerians in Saudi Arabia in connection with drug-related offences and had already waded into the matter.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said necessary steps were being taken to engage with the Saudi authorities on the fate of the detained Nigerian drug suspects.

‘’The Minister of Foreign Affairs has directed the Nigerian Mission in Riyadh to look into the detained suspects’ case urgently,” the Spokesman for the Ministry, Dr. Tope Adeleye Elias-Fatile, said in response to Saturday Vanguard’s enquiry on the matter.

“The Nigerian Government will continue to engage the Saudi authorities in negotiations so that they will not be executed,” the Foreign Ministry assured.

It will be recalled that Legal Defence and Assistance Project (LEDAP), a human rights organization, had raised the alarm that no fewer than 300 Nigerians were on death row in prisons across Asian countries.

During the World Day against the Use of the Death Penalty last week, LEPAD once again drew the country’s attention to the rising number of Nigerians awaiting execution in different parts of the world.

Within this period, the number of offenders has doubled as more than 600 Nigerians in South- East Asia countries are awaiting the hangman, most of them on drug-related offences.

The revelations highlight the increasing desperation of some Nigerians in the narcotic trade. More Nigerians are pouring across the borders with hard drugs in spite of the sophistication in technology as well as the stiff punishment mapped out to curb the illegal business.

The boom in the illegal trade perhaps speaks to the fact that the country’s law enforcement agencies still have much work on their hands. Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia are evidently among the active drug routes, judging by the number of traffickers caught regularly. Incidentally, these are countries where it is public knowledge that trafficking in hard drug carries the mandatory death sentence.

Indeed, many convicted drug traffickers had been executed in Asia, from Singapore to Vietnam. Some 120 Nigerians were reportedly on death row in Chinese prisons, due mainly to peddling in narcotics.

Yesterday, news broke that a crew member of singer, Davido and some Airport officials engaged in a fistcuff at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Thursday January 11th. According to reports, trouble started when a checkpoint staff at the airport attempted to verify some of the checked luggage with the attached tags, but, rather than allow the staff to carry out his official duty, 22 year old Umarudeen Kayode pictured right, insisted that he would not allow him to verify the luggage, which after much argument and insistence, led to fisticuffs.



Umarudeen allegedly punched the Checkpoint staff on the face, which attracted other security officials at the terminal who immediately attempted to arrest him. Rather than obey, he resisted arrest and pummeled another airport security staff attached to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria at the baggage claim area, an Assistant Customs Comptroller was also injured.

Umarudeen was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate court on a 5-count charge yesterday January 12th. He was charged for assault, breach of public peace and for resisting arrest. The first charge accused him of obstructing and resisting a public officer, an offence contrary to section 117(1) and punishable under the same section of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.


“That you, Umarudeen Kayode ‘M’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district did unlawfully assault a public officer causing him harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011” reads count 2.

The magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 and two sureties in like sum. The sureties must have variable addresses within the jurisdiction of the court. According to Sahara Reporters, Umarudeen was not able to meet the bail condition as at the time the court closed for the day. This suggests that Umarudeen will be sleeping in the prison this weekend until he perfects his bail conditions.

There’re those who think financial prosperity isn’t for Christians, and they’re wrong. There’re three people we find in the Bible that God identified Himself with: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they were super wealthy. In Exodus 3:6, God said to Moses, _*“… I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob....”*_ Read about these three individuals and you’ll be amazed at the extent of their prosperity.

Genesis 13:2 tells us that Abraham _*“…was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”*_ The Bible says of his son Isaac, _*“And the man*_ (Isaac) _*waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him”*_ (Genesis 26:13-14). Jacob too had a similar testimony; the Bible says, _*“ And the man*_ (Jacob) _*increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses”*_ (Genesis 30:43).

God’s prosperity isn’t for a select few; it’s for all who follow, and live by, His Word. He said in 3 John 1:2, _*“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”*_ As a Christian, you’re an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17), which makes prosperity your birthright. All the wealth in this world belongs to you. This is how you ought to think. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says all things are yours; believe, think, and talk accordingly. Have the consciousness of sufficiency and superabundance.

If you’ve struggled all your life in lack, want and penury, what you need is a new orientation; a new mindset. Change your language, your consciousness, and your thinking, and your situation will change. Romans 12:2 says, _*“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind….”*_ Think and talk prosperity until your whole mentality isn’t just overhauled, but supplanted by the possibilities of the prosperous life.

Tragedy struck Brierley Hill, West Midlands after a 17-year-old girl was strangled to death as she laughed and joked with the man accused of murdering her.
Her body was found badly decomposed at a hostel for former inmates in Brierley Hill, West Midlands, on May 3, 2017.
A court heard that her remains were stuffed in a wardrobe wrapped in clingfilm by Foster, who is suspected to have killed her as part of a ‘snuff movie fantasy’ three weeks earlier.
Prosecutor Crispin Aylett QC said: “Megan was seen wearing boots she had borrowed from her mother and tartan trousers. 

Foster is wearing black trainers with white stripes, a t-shirt and perhaps green or blue trousers. 

At 3.35pm we can see Megan going into Mr. Foster’s room, she is not wearing those black boots. 

This is the last sighting of Megan on the footage from any of the CCTV cameras.”

But Mr. Aylett QC said Foster had been carrying out his own sexual fantasies when he throttled Megan to death.
Mr Aylett added: “He can be seen hanging a quilt up and returning inside. His windows are open in his room. 

He has a bottle with him, white with a nozzle to it which he uses to spray the quilt.
He (later) comes out, turns the quilt over and uses the spray on the underside.” 

The trial, at Wolverhampton Crown Court, continues.
Police have released CCTV footage of Megan’s final moments, which was shown to a jury on Tuesday.
Teenage Megan Bills was seen laughing with Foster in a supermarket as they bought cans of soft drink and blue Rizla cigarette papers. Jurors were shown further CCTV of the pair’s movements around the hostel, including Megan’s last sighting as she entered Foster’s room. According to reports, the suspect, Ashley Foster, 24, was released from prison just three days before he allegedly killed 17-year-old Megan Bills during a sex game. He claimed they had consensual intercourse before Megan died accidentally during a sex game gone wrong. He then allegedly searched for snuff films while her body decomposed as he tried to cover his tracks by vacuuming flies and spraying bed sheets with cleaning fluid.
Footage taken from May 2 shows Foster in the back garden of the property hanging out his quilt to dry.

The Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPAN) is insisting on freedom of the press in Nigeria and demands the immediate release of Timothy (Tim) Elombah, the detained journalist and Editor of United Kingdom (UK) based online news platform, Elombah.com by Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris.
Tim has been held for the eleventh day now since his arrest alongside his brother Daniel Elombah, a UK based Lawyer and Publisher of Elombah.com, in the wee hours of New Year Day in their family home in Nnewi, Anambra State on the orders of IGP Ibrahim in a gestapo operation by about 15 officers of the Federal Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Despite an order by a magistrate court in Mpape, Abuja, on Tuesday January 2, 2018 to keep Timothy in police custody for 7 days to allow them carry out further investigation as requested by them, with an order to bring him back to the court on January 9, 2018, the IGP and Police have refused to do so instead, they have continued to incarcerate Timothy for no just cause.
The police say they are holding Timothy because Elombah.com published an opinion piece titled: “IGP Ibrahim Idris’s Unending Baggage of Controversies” that they argue defamed the IGP and the police force. The said article was written by one Ebowei Dickson and it was widely published on multiple websites.
We do not understand how a civil case of ‘defamation’ turned into a criminal case in Nigeria, where the IGP is both the accuser and defender in his own case.
In civilized nations, what the IGP and the Police Force would have done is to sue and allow the Court do its job. A recent book titled “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” was authored by Michael Wolff which questions President Donald Trump’s fitness for office and yet the American Presidency never sent the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Police after the Author despite their claim that the book is full of lies.
We view this action by the IGP who’s an employee of President Muhammadu Buhari as the voice of Jacob but the hands of Esau. The continuous detention of Timothy Elombah and harassment of Daniel Elombah by the Federal Government is simply an attempt to muzzle the press ahead of 2019 and the arrest of the Elombah brothers is testing the waters ahead of the election. We will not fret or be cowed!
We call on the International community and Media Houses to call Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to order and stop the intimidation of the online press in Nigeria. This action by the IGP is the smuggling in of Decree 34 which Buhari as a military Head of State promulgated into the country using cybercrime as the new name. We make bold to say that as Nigeria’s foremost online publishers association, we will not watch Buhari bring the Press to disrepute and ridicule through this ‘internet age Decree 34’.
OPAN is calling on President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to ensure a society where there is ABSOLUTE freedom of the press and to stop the use of security agencies to intimidate and harass journalists in any form. The free press is here to stay.

Jonathan Was Not Inactive - Reno Omokri Replies Presidency Over Claims That 756 People Were killed By Herdsmen During Jonathan's Tenure

Following the recent claimed by the presidency that 756 people were killed in two years under the former President Jonathan's administration, former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has reacted it. 
In his response, Reno said For the avoidance of doubt, let it be known that the figure of 756 is wrong. But the issue is not that it is a false figure, the issue is that former President Jonathan was not inactive in the face of Fulani herdsmen killings during his Presidency.

Former President Jonathan wishes to express his condolences to the government and people of Benue, Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa and Nasarawa states, over the recent spate of killings occasioned by herdsmen/farmers clashes. His heart bleeds for the sufferings of Nigerians and he calls on the authorities to do everything in their power to put an end to these needless killings. 

Having said that, let it be known that we find the statement by the Presidency stating that 756 Nigerians were killed by Fulani herdsmen in two years under the government of former President Jonathan as a mischievous assertion by a callous Presidential spokesman who thinks that death is something to be trivialized. For the avoidance of doubt, let it be known that the figure of 756 is wrong. But the issue is not that it is a false figure, the issue is that former President Jonathan was not inactive in the face of Fulani herdsmen killings during his Presidency. 
While in office, the former President knew that the capacity of the Nigerian police would be challenged by the sophistication of arms available to the herdsmen and so after he was elected President and sworn in on May 29, 2011, former President Jonathan summoned a National Security Council meeting and ordered that Fulani herdsmen attack must be decisively dealt with. In July 2012, the Plateau state government reported that herdsmen killings had reached a head in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area leading to tens of deaths of Nigerian citizens by Fulani herdsmen, many of whom were not even Nigerian citizens. 

Then President Jonathan, when briefed about the situation insisted that there would not be such impunity under his leadership and immediately ordered the army and the Air Force to go to the affected communities and fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book. The military immediately obeyed the then President’s orders and sent troops and helicopters to Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. They ordered all residents to leave their residence for temporary accommodation provided for them so they could conduct a joint air and ground operation to flush out the armed herdsmen who had been suspected of killing innocent Nigerians. The residents complied and the soldiers went in and not only did they clear the area, they made arrests which led to trials and convictions. We wish to remind Nigerians that when this episode was being carried out, it was precisely members of the opposition who later became the All Progressive Congress that heavily criticized then President Jonathan’s orders. 

In fact, a prominent member of the APC and now the Governor of Kaduna State and a known confidante of the President, Malam Nasir El-Rufai tweeted his now infamous tweet on the 15th of July 2012 threatening that “We will write this for all to read. Anyone, soldier or not that kills the Fulani takes a loan repayable one day no matter how long it takes.” (his exact words). So the question Nigerians need to ask instead of allowing themselves to be distracted by the statement from the Presidency is this: Are Nigerians now repaying the ‘loan’ that El-Rufai threatened to make Nigeria repay? If the then President was not active in decisively sending the military after herdsmen, why would El-Rufai have been so pained to have made such a statement? 

Let it be known that the former President views herdsmen who kill unprovoked and with the intention of advancing their own economic and other interests as terrorists, pure and simple. Not only did he treat them as terrorists, he also put the military on high alert to protect Nigerian lives. In conclusion, we state that any group who kills to advance their agenda is a terror group and failure to address them as such is a disservice to the Nigerian people.

According to reports, the police acting on a tip off, stormed the homes where the Nigerian men were staying and arrested them.

Trump Uses 'Slur' To Describe Immigrants From Haiti, Africa

President Donald Trump reportedly lashed out in a Thursday meeting with lawmakers about immigration reform, demanding to know why the US should accept citizens from what he called "shithole" countries.

Trump sat down with senators and congressmen at the White House to discuss a proposed bipartisan deal that would limit immigrants from bringing family members into the country and restrict the green card visa lottery in exchange for shielding hundreds of thousands of young immigrants from deportation.

"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Trump said, according to people briefed on the meeting who spoke with The Washington Post.

The New York Times later reported the same comment, citing unnamed people with direct knowledge of the meeting.

The president was referring to African countries and Haiti, and then suggested the United States should welcome immigrants from places like Norway, whose prime minister met with Trump on Wednesday.

The comments alarmed and mystified the people attending the meeting.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Dick Durbin came to the White House to outline their bipartisan compromise, but found themselves in the room with several Republican immigration hardliners.

Graham and Durbin are leading efforts to codify protections for so-called "dreamers," immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children.

In exchange, the deal would end extended family chain migration.

It also reportedly would cut the visa lottery program by half and prioritize certain countries in the system, instead of scrapping it altogether as several Republicans have suggested as part of an agreement.

The president and lawmakers are in the midst of intense negotiations about how to shield nearly 800,000 "dreamers" from deportation.

Last year, Trump scrapped the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that protected the immigrants, and set a deadline of March 5 for Congress to legislate a fix.

The White House did not deny the account of Trump's use of language, but instead suggested the president was "fighting for permanent solutions" that strengthen the nation, in part through the use of a merit-based immigration system.

"Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people," White House spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement.

"He will always reject temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway."

Some Democrats seized on Trump's slur to suggest he is anti-immigrant.

"We always knew that President Trump doesn't like people from certain countries or people or certain colors," congressman Luis Gutierrez said.

"We can now we say with 100% confidence that the president is a racist who does not share the values enshrined in our Constitution."

Woman got pregnant one week after giving birth, later had 4 babies in 11 months

A mom from Wales experienced the miracle of life four times over in just 11 months.
Becky John, of Swansea, thought it would be nice for her baby daughter Mya to have a similarly aged sibling to play with and decided to conceive another child with her partner Jason Evans.
John, who gave birth to Mya in February,2015, became pregnant just one week later and was shocked to discover she would be giving birth to triplets.
“I had to stare at the screen just to make sure for myself. And I counted the heartbeats one by one. It was true I was actually pregnant with triplets,” John told Barcroft, adding none of her friends believed her.

They were all naturally conceived and they were each from a separate egg, which is really rare. Doctors told us it was the healthiest way to have triplets, because they all had a placenta each, it meant there was no risks associated with any one of them sharing a placenta,” John added.John — who also has a nine-year-old daughter named Kayla — gave birth by caesarian to Ryan, Raya and Phoebe.
“I was so huge by that time I could barely move and doctors wanted to get them out in case I went into labor early,” John told Barcroft.
“I’ve been carrying around nearly 15 pounds of babies. I couldn’t believe it. But I was just so relieved they were all healthy and well,” she added.

John was worried how she would manage with so many babies, but now she couldn’t be happier with her newest additions.
“Kayla was thrilled with her three new brothers and sisters and it’s lovely to think that Mya and the triplets are growing up so close in age,” John said.

The chiefs said they are enforcing a directive from the river god, according to a BBC report.

A dissatisfied Nigerian dad took to Facebook yesterday, to call out teachers in private schools of shifting the responsibility of teachers to parents by way of giving them too much homework.

It has become clear to many parents that the task of teaching their children has been shifted to them despite the huge fees they keep doling out to private schools.
Children come home with homework that
requires over 6 hours to complete and the children are usually clueless about the topic. Clearly some of these topics were never introduced in class and the burden of breaking in the topic is shifted to the parents. In some cases a topic is given a very brief introduction in class then a slew of tasks is bundled as assignments and becomes the parent's responsibility to ground the child in the subject. 
Nigerian parents remain docile. They know they are being shafted but continue to take it. 
Some schools try to drive the narrative that all other kids are up to par and only yours is finding it difficult. Bull! The teachers are trained to sell you that line (the only training they seem to receive). This belief gives every parent a catch-up mentality. So you either enroll in their "extra lessons " or you find yourself doing homework for your children everyday. 
This phenomenon (fraud) was prevalent in China until parents got together and fought against it. 
After paying exorbitant school fees, the schools pay peanuts to the teachers. Some private school teachers in Nigeria consider themselves unemployed because their remuneration is so small! 
They can't be bothered to be dedicated. Besides many just simply are untrained. 
The private schools have found a solution: transfer the teaching tasks to the parents!
Parents must individually reject this fraud! 
Insist on only one assignment per subject per week. If the schools won't comply then we must refuse to pay school fees this January! 
Insist that teaching must be in the classroom! Not through 'extra lessons '!
It is a big lie that every other child except yours is doing well! They only exploit your competitive spirit!
Enough is enough! Teach our children or we will not pay the school fees! If we are doing all the work we might as well enroll them in the LEA public schools!

8 ways a man can make his wife feel ugly without saying a thing

Days before I got married, my pastor’s wife told me, “Your husband will never intentionally hurt you.” Twenty-two years later, I believe she was right—for the most part. Yet the key word is “intentionally”. Even though the average guy isn’t making it his mission to hurt his wife, he can unintentionally leave her feeling rejected, unseen, devalued—and ugly—without ever saying a thing.
Feeling beautiful is complicated. At the surface, there’s never been a woman who hated a good hair day. And should her salon-fresh locks catch the eye of her husband, she’s likely to hold her head higher, for she has captivated her man. But beauty runs much deeper, and when a husband fails to recognize his wife’s many stunning qualities, pain and resentment can set in.
Before I dive into this topic, it’s important know one thing: A woman must, above all, understand she is
beautiful in the eyes of her Creator. Though she may look to her husband for validation, she must first “let the King be enthralled by [her] beauty” (Psalm 45:11).
And now, here are 8 ways a man makes his wife feel ugly without saying a thing to her:
1. He withholds compliments.

A woman longs to be noticed, to feel wanted and needed and when her husband—the one whose opinion matters most—fails to give a compliment, she begins to wonder, “Am I still lovely? Is something wrong with me?”
So if woman looks attractive while putting on jewelry, she wants her husband to tell her. If a man is amazed at his wife’s ability to multi-task, he needs to let her know. If a woman whips-up the most incredible shrimp linguini, her husband should suggest she open a restaurant. 
It’s no surprise that when a woman’s heart is weighed down, “a kind word cheers it up”(Proverbs 12:25). 
2. He has no pictures of his wife--anywhere.

I once visited my husband at work and saw something beautiful: Me! There I was, sitting on his desk—inside a little frame for all to see. I felt honored and cherished, and if I’m honest, a little flirty: Can’t get enough of me when you’re not home, eh, big guy?
So if a man is serious about affirming his wife 24/7 and is looking for ways to “publicly declare her praise” (Proverbs 31:31), he should frame a photo of her—his favorite one with the flower in her hair—and put it in a place of prominence, could be his office, car, room etc. Even a quick switch-out of his phone’s wallpaper will do the trick. And taking down all girly posters in the garage goes without saying.
3. He gawks frequently.

For every married man who does a double-take at the beach or repeatedly glances at the hottie on aisle five, there’s a married woman who feels undesirable and inadequate. Eventually she’ll believe she’s not good enough. And with a steady diet of checking-out the ladies, her husband will come to believe that about her as well. 
Since gawking at women in public can easily lead to gawking in private, a man must check himself before a marital affair or addiction to porn ruins his life—“for anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery in his heart” (Matthew 5:28). 
4. He never gives her gifts.

I’ll never forget how pretty I felt the day my husband bought me a blouse he picked out all by himself. Why? Because he thought I'd look good in it. I then pictured him shopping, saying to himself, “I want to see her in this.” The entire gesture made him attractive to me and made me feel attractive; it was a win-win. A husband who can't remember the last time he gave his wife a gift may unintentionally be making her feel ugly.
But the best gift a man can give to his relationally-wired wife is himself. And talk about a win-win, for it’ll free her to become generous in return (Proverbs 11:25). Poet Kahil Gibran once wrote: “You give but little when you give of your possessions; it is when you give of yourself that you truly live.”
5. He constantly looks at his phone.

The days of sitting together—on a couch, at a restaurant, in the car—without the lure of a phone, beckoning to be checked every 18 seconds, are long gone. But when a man makes the first move and puts his phone down, making eye contact like it was their very first date, his woman is sure to feel seen and heard—the very opposite of ugly.     
1 Peter 3:7 says a man is to live with his wife “according to knowledge,” which means to know her, and the only way that can happen is to limit distractions. 
6. He eats the last piece of meat so she won't...

When a man eats the last piece of meat or cupcake to “help” his wife lose weight, or when he strategically places her gym shoes at the foot of their bed, she is going to feel straight-up ugly. Though he thinks he’s doing it on the sly, she knows exactly what’s going on.
So it’s important that a husband shows affection for his wife now, fit or not. And soon he’ll see her body as the most alluring in all the land, and will “rejoice in the wife of his youth” (Proverbs 5:18).
7. He doesn't mind when other men give his wife attention.
Not all jealousy is sinful. If a husband catches another man flirting with his wife, he has a right to be jealous; he should be jealous. Just like God gets jealous when people and things pull us away from him (Exodus 34:14), it’s perfectly appropriate for a man to feel the same with his wife—in a healthy, non-creepy way, of course.
So in an effort to honor and defend his wife, not being careless about his commitment to her, a man must keep an eye out. Not only will a touch of healthy jealousy protect his marriage, it’ll make his wife feel quite the catch.
8. He speaks more favorably of other women than his wife.

When a wife overhears her husband refer to the lady next door, a friend's or relatives wife as “gorgeous” and the gal in accounting as “brilliant”—two words he has never said to her—she will feel anything but beautiful. This is especially true when Miss Gorgeous and Miss Brilliant are acquaintances of the couple, not mere images out of Hollywood. 
Sure, every woman has something beautiful to offer the world, a beauty for all to see. But within marriage, a woman feels like one-in-a-million when her husband thinks this of her: “My dove, my perfect one, is unique” (Song of Songs 6:9).

For the 7th year running, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has been adjudged as the richest man in the continent of Africa with a net worth that Forbes pegged at $12.2 billion. That was an increase of $100 million from a year ago.

Bill Gates maintained his position as the richest man in the world with a net worth of $86 billion, while Warren Buffet and Jeff Bezos were second and third consecutively with a net worth of $75.6 billion and $72.8 billion.

Forbes further stated that “Dangote is looking beyond cement - his most valuable asset - and has been investing in a fertilizer production company and a large oil refinery. Dangote Fertilizer is expected to start operations in the second quarter this year.”

It would be recalled that Dangote was also recently the only African selected among Bloomberg’s world 50 best persons in the year 2017 while names of notable Nigerians were dropped from the billionaires lists, Globacom chairman, Mike Adenuga, with a net worth of $5.3 billion was adjudged the 5th richest man in Africa and Folorunsho Alakija, also a Nigerian, whose estimated $1.6 billion fortune lies in oil exploration firm was adjudged as the 15th richest person in Africa.

Number two on the list of African richest people is diamond mining heir Nicky Oppenheimer of South Africa, with a net worth of $7.7 billion, up $700 million from last year. Oppenheimer is one of eight South Africans on the list, making it the African country with the most billionaires. Nigeria has just three.

Last year, South Africa and Egypt tied with six billionaires each.

Boosting the South African ranks this year, is newcomer Michiel Le Roux, the founder and former chairman of Johannesburg-listed Capitec Bank Holdings, whose stock has climbed more than 50 per cent in the past year, making Le Roux a new billionaire worth $1.2 billion. 

South African mining tycoon, Desmond Sacco, chairman of listed Assore Group, returns to the list following a stock price surge of some 60 per cent in the past 12 months. One South African list member wouldn’t have made the cut a month ago.

In December 2017, the share price of retailer Steinhoff International plunged after the company divulged accounting irregularities. That pushed the net worth of Steinhoff’s then-chairman Christoffel Wiese below $1 billion on December 7. (Wiese resigneda as chairman in December.) Stock market hits 9year high as investors gain N1.7tr in 8days

The Nigeria Stock Exchange, NSE yesterday continued its record breaking performance with total market capitalisation rising by N437 billion, thus extending investors gain to N1.7 trillion in the first eight trading days of the year.

The floor of Stock exchange Driven by rally from both local and foreign investors, the Nigeria Stock Exchange, yesterday’s performance jerked up the NSE All Share Index, to 43,041.54 points, the highest in nine years. 

Specifically, the All share Index significantly appreciated by 1,125.43 points or 2.9 percent from 41,816.11 points on Wednesday, the highest since October 2009. In the same vein, market capitalisation (total values of shares), which opened at N14. 8 trillion increased by N437 billion to close at N15.317 billion. The Year to Date, YtD return expanded to 12.5 percent from 38,264.79 points on 2nd January to close at 43.041.54 points. In similar manner, market capitalisation gained N1.7 trillion or 12.5 percent in 8 days trading period of the year. The market had on Tuesday recorded a three year high All Share Index high of 40,362.97 points, the highest since October 2014. According to analysts at Lagos based Afrinvest Plc, the market rally was boost by gains from the blue chips stocks across the subsectors. “Despite the decline in market breadth, sentiment remained positive. Hence, we expect the market to close of the week positive”, they stated. Analysis of yesterday trading shows that the performance across sectors was bullish as all indices closed in the positive. 

The Banking index was the top performer, rising 4.4 percent on the back of buying interest across board. However, performance was driven largely by tier-1 banks namely Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, which went up 4.9 percent and Zenith Bank 3.1 percent. The Industrial Goods index followed suit, closing 3.3 percent as an upswing in Dangote Cement 2.0 percent buoyed performance while the Consumer Goods index rose 2.3 percent following upticks in Nigerian Breweries Plc which rose 4.6 percent and Guinness Nigeria Plc 9.6 percent. Similarly, price appreciation in SEPLAT by 2.3 percent and Forte Oil by 8.7 percent drove the Oil & Gas index at 2.7 percent northwards while the Insurance index recorded a 1.7 percent increase following a rally in Mansard Insurance by 8.4 percent and AIICO Insurance Plc by 3.5 percent.

Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has agreed to replace Antonio Conte as Chelsea boss in the summer, according to reports in Italy.

Conte is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of this season and his compatriot is favourite to take over.

Corriere dello Sport claims Allegri will replace Conte at Chelsea, just like he succeeded him at Juventus in 2014.

The newspaper reports, though, that Juve have no intention of letting their manager go, with his contract running until 2020.

Allegri won the Serie A title in each of his first three seasons in Turin.

His side currently sit second in the table, one point behind leaders Napoli.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33).

We’ve just read the words of Jesus; so powerful, encouraging, and comforting! He said, “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD .” What a consciousness. This was how Jesus lived, even though He was in a world plagued by gross darkness, economic hardships, sickness, oppression, deaths, disasters, etc., He was so detached from the problems and the corrupting influences of His day. He had a victor’s mindset; the kind He expects us to function with.

2 Timothy 3:12 says, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” When challenges, persecutions, distressing situations, turbulent times, trials, and temptations come, be of good cheer; be unflustered, because you’ve already overcome them all. That’s how you’re supposed to think and live, because in Christ, you’ve overcome the world. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

When you’re conscious of this, it’ll affect your prayer-language. It doesn’t matter what challenges I face, when I pray, I declare “In the Name of the Lord Jesus, I have overcome the world and its systems, its economics, hatred, poverty, corruption, depression, and falsehood.” That’s why nothing in the world can get my attention, because I’ve overcome the world in Christ.

This is true for every one of us; you’re not a victim but a victor. You’re in Christ, and His victory over the world was for you. Don’t pray to overcome; don’t try to overcome. Don’t fast to overcome. Kanu, Eguavoen, Siasia, Akanni To Play Fund-Raising Match For Distressed Oruma

Former Super Eagles captains, Augustine Eguavoen, Samson Siasia and Nwankwo Kanu, have all agreed to take part in a football game to raise funds in a bid to aid the recovery of their former teammate Wilson Oruma who is still in mental distress after losing most of his money to swindlers six years ago, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The game has been proposed to hold in Lagos in February, former Super Eagles midfielder and ex-Chairman of Lagos State Football Association Waidi Akanni revealed told CSN.

Oruma, 41, who played for Lens, Marseille and Lens in France as well as other European clubs, was allegedly defrauded by a clergy man and some fake oil businessmen to the tune of N1.2 billion in December 2012 and his ex-teammates have agreed to play a novelty game to raise funds for the former Nigeria U-17 captain.

They also intend to use the medium to share their experiences to the current players on how well to manage their finances and life after retiring from football in a career talk programme during the event.


Former Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Waidi Akanni, who is also a former Nigeria international told Completesportsnigeria.com that a delegation will be sent to meet with Oruma’s family to know how they can help him fully recover.

“Since the news broke that he (Oruma) had a relapse of an emotional disorder, his former teammates having been trying to reach out to people around him to show love to him,” Akanni told CSN on Thursday.

“Taribo, Kanu and some of the Atlanta 96 set are keen to turn out for their former teammate.

“They have all agreed to reach out to his family to see how they can help him out and also use the opportunity to educate the current players on how to plan their future after retirement.

“I’m sure other players who will be contacted later will be willing to take part just as the Lagos State government and the Delta State government, where Oruma hails from.”

Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Ahmed Abubakar as the new director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Abubakar was appointed as a replacement for Ayo Oke, former head of the intelligence agency, who was sacked on 30 October 2017, following the controversies trailing $43.5m found in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to Fayose, the forefathers of Nigeria must be lamenting were they to see “what Buhari has turned the country into”.

Fayose, in a statement by Lere Olayinka, his spokesman, said while Lawal was replaced by Boss Mustapha, from Lawal’s Adamawa hometown, Buhari failed to pick Oke’s replacement from his state.

He described Abubakar’s appointment as evidence that Buhari is an “unrepentant sectional leader, who does not care about the feelings of people from other parts of the country”.

“Seeing what President Buhari has turned the country to, the forefathers of Nigeria, who laid the foundation of the country on equity, justice and fairness will be lamenting wherever they are now,” Fayose said.

“President Buhari has consistently demonstrated that he is an ethnic champion, a religious bigot and the number one promoter of disunity in Nigeria. This he has done again with the appointment of yet another northerner as the NIA director-general.

“Ambassador Ayo Oke was removed from office the same day Babachir Lawal was removed as secretary to the government of the federation.

“While Lawal’s replacement came from his home state, Oke’s replacement came from the north. That is unacceptable.”

Fayose asked if there was no one from the south qualified to head the agency.

He added that given Abubakar’s appointment, “all” of the country’s security chiefs are northerners.

“With the appointment of Ahmed Rufai Abubakar as the NIA Director General, all heads of security agencies are now northerners and the question is, is this what those who enshrined federal character in our constitution envisaged?” Fayose asked.

“The implication of what the president has done is that, when security council meeting is held today, apart from one or two insignificant people, those in the meeting will be people from one section of the country.

“Even para-military agencies are headed by people from President Buhari’s section of the country. This is unfair.

“Those who argued then that the president made the appointments on merit should come to the open to tell Nigerians, especially those from the south that there is no one that merited appointment as Director General of NIA.”

The Vice Chancelor of Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Lagos, Prof. Muheez Durosinmi, has lamented the inadequacy of medical doctors in the country.

He said Nigeria had yet to attain the recommendation of the World Health Organisation of one doctor per 600 hundred patients.

He said it would take the country about 100 years to meet up with the WHO’s recommendation.

Durosinmi, who said the country presently operated on one doctor to 6,000 patients, claimed that about half of the population of Nigerian registered doctors were in diaspora.

The university don, who spoke at the inauguration of the governing council of the institution, said only 35,000 out of the 73,000 registered Nigerian doctors were practising in the country, while the remaining had travelled abroad for greener pasture.

“Nigerian doctors are well trained; when our doctors go abroad, they are recognised. The downturn of the economy has made government not to employ the required number of doctors; we have a lot of medical graduates that are still looking for job.

“On the list of the medical and dentist council, we have a total of 73,000 members, only 35,000 are practising in the country; the rest are in diaspora. The current system cannot absorb them and we have so many government hospitals that can’t be proud of adequate number of doctors “.

Asserting that Nigerian doctors are well trained and among the best in the world, the vice chancellor said a lot of them were unemployed, adding that both federal and state governments were not ready to employ them.

Durosinmi, a former chairman of Faculty of Pathology, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, said additional institutions that would produce qualify doctors must be established for the country to meet the WHO standard.

Also speaking at the occasion, chairman of governing council, Prof. Akanni Hussein, attributed the problem in the health sector to structural defect, adding that Nigerian doctors performed well abroad.


Hussein, a former vice chancellor of Lagos State University, also pointed out that government interference in the management of university should be discontinued, saying there should be academic freedom for universities.

In his opening remarks, the founder of the university, Dr Ayodele Ibraheem, said he established the school because of his love for his people.

Ibraheed stated the institution was meant purely for academic pursuit, adding that student union activities would not be allowed.

He said ‘enough is enough’ as God’s people will no longer keep mourn over the killing of farmers and destruction of their hard-earned crops by grazers.

Nigerians have asked the federal government to ban ‘Miyetti Allah’, the foremost Cattle Breeders Association in the country. The position was made known in a poll conducted by Punch Online.

The poll titled ‘Benue killings: Should Miyetti Allah be banned?‘ went live on Wednesday. It asked respondents to indicate Yes if they wanted Miyetti Allah banned or No if they wanted the cattle breeders association left alone.

Respondents were also given the choice to be Indifferent on the matter.

As of 1:00pm on Thursday, 2,122 out of the 2,363 respondents, who make 90 per cent of the total votes chose ‘Yes’, they wanted the group banned. The respondents blamed the herdsmen and stated the several deadly attacks in Benue State as the reason for their choice.

The respondents who don’t want the group banned were 175, making 7 per cent of the total votes, while 66 respondents, making 3 per cent were Indifferent.

“Miyetti Allah should be banned, not only proscribing the evil organisation’s activities, their leaders, sponsors, and all those involved in the killings of innocent souls should be arrested and prosecuted without delay; as we are talking we don’t know what next these herdsmen are planning in Benue and other neighbouring states,” wrote one respondent who gave his name as Raheem.

Another respondent, Dencom wrote, “If the less violent IPOB could be proscribed for allegedly being a threat to national security, why not Miyetti Allah which poses a far more dangerous threat to our national existence via their bloody bestiality?” the respondent asked. “…When victims of Miyetti Allah killings are pushed to the wall of self-defence, another civil war might be on the horizon,” the respondent concluded.

Osinkolu Babafemi said on Facebook: “Not only banned. They should be prosecuted and sentenced. The souls and blood of the innocents shall revenge!”

Agbo Ndubui Paul was very sarcastic in his comment, he wrote, “NO. They should be awarded as the Best invaders of Nigeria. Since they are not Nigerians according to the FG, they should create a special grazing reserve in Aso Rock.”


Some of the respondents who do not think the group should be banned suggested that they should be controlled.

“They should not be banned but their movement should be controlled,” one respondent who gave his name as Emmanuel commented.

Ibrahim Tsoho Tsoho said, “No way we must live together as usual.”

Even though the herdsmen/farmers clash had been existing in Nigeria for a long time, the recent spate of attacks in Benue State follows the initiation of the anti-open grazing law by the state government.

About 24 hours after the anti-open grazing law took effect in the state in November 2017, suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked some communities in Logo Local Government Area of the state. They killed one person, Ortse Kwaghdoo (40), and injured a 70-year-old man, Hinger Aka.

A few days after the passage of the law and the subsequent attack, the Fulani socio-cultural organisation, Miyeti Allah, had described the anti-open grazing law passed in some states as a time bomb. The association, which made the comment at its North-West zonal meeting in Kaduna, argued that the anti-open grazing law was an attempt to destroy herders’ means of livelihood.

The National President of the association, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo, and the National Secretary, Alhaji Sale Alhassan, at a joint press conference held after the meeting, had said the law was not in the best interest of peace in the land. They called for its urgent review.

The association also asked the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to provide security for Fulani herdsmen particularly in Benue State because their lives were under threat.

Meanwhile, following the recent increase in the spate of attacks, President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to move to the state and tackle the crisis. The I.G landed in Makurdi, the state capital on Wednesday.

Scores have been killed in Taraba State after Fulani herdsmen launched a recent attack on Ananum village in the Donga Local Government Area of the state. According to reports, the head of the Ananum village was gruesomely killed along with two wives after being attacked by the herdsmen.

A Libya Deportee, Destiny Kelly, has been arrested and detained by the Edo State Police command for allegedly abducting and robbing a female Corps member, Joseph Jennifer.

Kelly, (30), was arrested with two of his accomplices, Christopher Agbonugo (23) and another 29-year-old Endurance Aburimeh.

Kelly who said he was deported from Libya in late February, 2017, said he organised the abduction and robbery on December 2, 2017.

One of the suspects, Christopher, was said to have posed as a cab operator, while the Libya Deportee and his partner in crime posed as passengers.

According to one of the suspects, Aburimeh, they picked their victim at Ramat Park, Ikpoba Hill and headed towards the Ring Road.

Addressing journalists on her ordeal in the hands of her abductors, the victim, Jennifer said they forced her head down to her lap, beat her mercilessly and collected her phone, N4000 and ATM card.

“One of them went to the bank to collect money from my bank account, but he could not collect money. They became angry and beat and tortured me in the car.

“Even I myself could not withdraw money from the account because the Federal Government just paid money into the account and have not opened it for my use.They returned to the girl, beat and tortured me,” Jennifer narrated.

She later reported the incident to the police for investigation.

Luck however ran against the hoodlums when the police tracked the victim’s phone to Christopher who was using the phone, and arrested him.

Cooked moi moi 
On this blog, we have recipes for moi moi wrapped in leaves, cooked in bags but not this. I saw this recipe on Myne Whitman's blog and promised her that when I try it, she'll know. Fortunately, it turned out great. It was truly tasty and soft. When I saw this moi moi that
day, I just remembered my cups wasting at home.

Ingredients:
2 Cups brown beans with skin
1large smoked cat fish
5 large tatashe
2 small red pepper
1 large onion
1 small can Gino tomato paste
Salt
Seasoning cubes
Soya oil
water

Smoked cat fish, blended tatashe, pepper, onion and tomato paste

Frying blended ingredients in hot oil

Adding Ingredients to ground beans, check for salt and seasoning, add more if needed

Pouring moi moi in cups, I had to cook twice cos the pot couldn't take all.  This quantity produced  about 20 cups of moi  moi. Pour boiling water in the pot before turning on the heat. Water should be at finger length so thatmoi moi doesn't tumble when it starts boiling. Check the pot frequently. This moi moi cooked in 45 minutes.

All ingredients were added within 5 minutes of adding noodles to boiling water. At 3 minutes in boiling water, vegetables should be added and left to cook for 2 minutes before serving.

Fried noodles are cooked like fried rice but much faster because you don't need to parboil noodles first. In 10 minutes this pot of deliciousness was ready. 
INGREDIENTS:

• 3 packs indomie noodles
  
• 3 small carrots
  
•  1 large onion
  
• 1 frankfurter sausage
  
• 2 cabbage leaves
  
• A handful of peas ( These must be young peas else they might not cook in 10 minutes)
  
• 1/2 teaspoon curry (optional)
  
• 500 ml water ( 2 cups)
  

I stir fried the vegetables with seasoning cube in oil before adding boiling water. Added the sausages, and noodles with noodle seasoning and stirred before covering the pot to cook. In about 7 minutes, food is ready. Served with fish. That's all.

With the health implications of making moi moi in plastic containers and cellophane bags, Nigerians are coming up with better, healthier ways of cooking, getting same great flavour and nutrients without loading on cancer and other diseases.
This moi moi cooked in tea mugs is absolutely delicious, cooked through and tastes even better. Aside tea mugs, other ceramic containers can be used to make moi moi. Even in the microwave, we know that heating food with ceramic is way better than heating in plastic plates. We cooked moi moi with cellophane bags before, also cooked in plastic cups but in all I'll say with recent researches and 21st century discoveries, it's best to do the cooking in stainless steel cups ( not aluminium) or ceramic. 

With the presence of blenders, food processors and even graters in the Nigerian kitchen, washing and skinning beans has become very very easy and fast. 
Ingredients:
2 cups beans
5 large tatashey (Red bell peppers)
1 large onion
2 seasoning cubes
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon pepper you can add more
Water, just enough to get the consistency a bit thicker than pancake batter

Before you cook moi moi, wash and blend or mill the beans together with the onion, tatashey and pepper, if you are adding hard boiled eggs, boil and set aside, if you are adding fish, salt and fry and set aside. Wash the mugs too then proceed with mixing.

Directions: 

1. Add all the ingredients like your fried fish or beef to blended beans, stir very well and check for salt
   
2. Add water to a light but not watery consistency, check again for salt. Please be careful and never ever cook salty moi moi cos it cannot be remedied.
   
3. Scoop into mugs already placed in a pot with water just at the middle of the mugs or a bit lower. After scooping into all the mugs, place pot on the stove and leave for about 10 minutes before checking for doneness. For the water in the pot, occasionally open and see that it's not getting dry, if it is, adjust with a little more water and cover to cook.

UPDATE: The custody fight between Aminu Atiku, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s son and his ex-wife, Fatima Bolori, has taken another turn, as she has just been granted custody of his two children.

Delivering his judgement on the custody battle between Aminu Abubakar and his ex-wife Fatima Bolori which has been on since their separation, Chief Magistrate K.B Ayeye ruled that the children Amirah Atiku, 8, and Aminu Atiku, 7, should be with their mother.
Recall that the couple who got married in 2007 and broke up in 2011, had a dirty fight at their daughter’s school in 2017, with Fatima Bolori accusing Atiku Abubakar’s wife, Titi Abubakar of instigating the bitter faceoff.
As the story goes, after their breakup, Aminu went with their daughter, Amirah Atiku. Consequently, Fatima Bolori filed a suit for the custody of her daughter as
provided under Islamic law. Promptly, Aminu countered her by also filing a suit seeking the custody of the kid. But while the impasse aggravated between the duo, Bolori won and was granted custody on Wednesday, October 11th. She went to her daughter’s school to pick her up and on hearing that she was there, Aminu and his police escorts stormed the school and prevented her from taking the child. Fatima Bolori spat into the air and received it in measured cadence, vowed to not leave the school premises until she was allowed to take her child with her.
It should also be recalled that Aminu and Fatima got married in an epic wedding ceremony in the wake of an enviable and surreal courtship. So sizzling was their romance that Aminu was ready to do anything to impress her and make her his bride.
However, few years into their marriage, bliss developed wings and vanished into thin air. Love took a long vacation and discord erected a massive structure in their abode.
Eventually, the couple separated after a protracted marital crisis.
