6 Simple Ways to Cure Weak Erection & Quick Ejaculation
User Avatar Forum: Romance
Posted by: Edoman - 01-18-2018, 11:57 AM - No Replies

It is no longer news that quite a lot of men suffer from either weak erection, quick ejaculation or both.
It is a common problem preventing many men from enjoying a full sex life and damaging their self-esteem.
Every man wants to be a champion in bed, which is a why a weak erection and quick ejaculation makes the average man feel like dying a thousand times. However, in most cases, you can overcome these problems simply by changing one or two things about your lifestyle.

Some simple changes will give you harder erections that will stay for a longer time and give you better sex experience:
STOP SMOKING
While you might not know it, smoking does quite a lot of damage to your sex life. When you smoke, the smoke clogs up your arteries thereby reducing blood flow to the penis. Now, you know that erections have to do with a healthy heart and blood vessels. Therefore, stop smoking!
ALCOHOL IS NOT YOUR FRIEND
Getting high can be so cool but it is not the best thing for your sex life. Alcohol destroys your kidneys and nerves which in turn affect your sex organ. Again, you have more chance of a harder erection when sober than when drunk. Alcohol is not your friend.
MASTURBATION AND PORNOGRAPHY IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU

While it may be a good stress relief, too much masturbating can open you to the problem of quick ejaculation. Your body is used to immediate gratification and this is a problem. Before you have thrust into the vagina once or twice, you will have ejaculated. Porn can also lead to addiction, sexual dysfunction and performance anxiety. These two addictions can get in the way of a healthy sex life.

EAT HEALTHY
The importance of eating good food cannot be over-emphasized. The kind of food you eat affects your sex life in many ways. Eat more fruit, vegetables and leave behind those junk foods you like. You cannot directly blame junk food for erectile dysfunction, but it leads to poor health which has a negative impact on your sex life. So, help yourself and eat healthy!
EXERCISE YOUR BODY AND BE FIT
Exercising is not for only those who want to trim down. Staying fit is the best thing you can do for your body. In fact, your sex life will change if you get your body in better shape because you get more attractive and you have a healthier heart which pumps more blood and gives you a better erection and stamina. It’s a triple benefit.
WORRY LESS
Sometimes, you fail in bed just because you are anxious. Performance anxiety over penis size or other things can cause erectile dysfunction. So don’t worry about it….just dig in and give your best performance.
So, conquering your weak erection and quick ejaculation problems starts with you.
If You want a faster and more effective solution aside the ones listed above.
I can recommend a 100% Herbal Solution that cure weak erection and improve libido plus sperm count, thereby making you last up to 28 minutes on first round with no side effects.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 18TH JANUARY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ Confidence In The Word✨

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise (Hebrews 10:35-36).

Your confidence in the Word must be unshakable. Practise the Word, even in the simplest matters of life. If, for example, things appear to be so tough that you aren’t even sure how your next meal is going to come, be unruffled. Make a confession of the Word. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25: “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on….”

Paul reechoed the same thing; he said, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). Practise this. Anchor your confidence on the Word. Maybe you looked into your bank accounts and there’s no money; that shouldn’t make you condescend to speak poverty or lack. Refuse to beg. Rather, declare, “I’m the seed of Abraham; the whole world is mine. I’m sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. I have wealth untold. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, and I have a goodly heritage.”

Act your faith in the Word and you’ll always win. The Word of God concerning your success, your greatness, and prosperity has already been given; think, talk, and walk accordingly and you’d live above the systems of this world. Reign and prevail over circumstances with the Word of God on your lips. It doesn’t matter how deplorable the situation may be, you can bring forth the glory of God, just as God brought order to a chaotic earth by speaking forth words.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen….” Notice what it says will happen when you maintain focus on the Word, when your confidence is in the Word: that seeming impossible situation—that trouble or adversity—will produce for you a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Blessed be God!

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the great assurance of faith, hope and love in your Word. Now, more than ever, I’m assured of victory, success and the glory-life, because your Word says so. My life is a daily manifestation of the supernatural, because you’ve made me an overcomer; winning is my lifestyle, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

|| Isaiah 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. ||

|| Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ||

Pay Me As High As Messi Or I Leave, Ronaldo Tells Madrid’s Bosses b
User Avatar Forum: Sports World

Real Madrid’s Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly told his bosses at the Santiago Bernabeu to pay him as much as what his arch-rival, Lionel Messi, earns at Barcelona.
He threatened to leave if he was not paid as much.
According to reports from Europe, the 32-year-old talisman demanded a whopping £17m pay rise that will increase his earnings at the La Liga and UEFA Champions League reigning champions to £35.5m.
Reports claimed Ronaldo is frustrated by Real president, Florentino Perez’ refusal to offer him an improved contract after he was promised one when he helped Real to a La Liga and Champions League double last season.
Ronaldo signed a five-year deal in November 2016 that will see him stay at the club till 2021.
He has also been linked with a return to Manchester United.

uel Subsidy Return: There Is A Bigger Fraud Being Perpetrated - Saraki
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 01-17-2018, 09:41 PM - No Replies

President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki has reacted to the Fuel Scarcity rocking the nation and the return of Fuel Subsidy.
In a statement obtained by PoliticsNGR via his Social media page, Saraki disclosed that an investigation is ongoing into the Subsidy issue and the Scarcity crisis.
He also pointed out that a Bigger fraud was going on under the Subsidy scheme, revealing that "the amount of PMS that is allegedly coming into Nigeria cannot be consumed by Nigerians. We consume about 27 million litres a day, while it has been alleged that 40 million litres a day of PMS is being brought in. There is a discrepancy somewhere." The statement read;
"Today, the Senate debated the interim report of the Senate Committee on Downstream Petroleum on the Fuel Scarcity Crisis in the country.
This interim report stirred up a debate on the Floor about the ongoing scarcity, the subsidy regime and ways to make the oil and gas sector more efficient.
I spent a lot of time on this fuel subsidy issue during the Seventh Senate (2011 to 2015). It was my Motion that brought this topic to the national discourse — hence, it is something that I know a lot about.
There are three issues here that we need to separate:
The first is, even as we speak now, there are still queues. The issue of the ongoing scarcity is one problem that the Committee needs to go back to look into so that Nigerians can be reassured that this will not reoccur.
The second problem is that the subsidy is important, however, based on the figures that have been presented, it is clear that there is a bigger fraud that is being perpetrated. This is because the amount of PMS that is allegedly coming into Nigeria cannot be consumed by Nigerians. We consume about 27 million litres a day, while it has been alleged that 40 million litres a day of PMS is being brought in. There is a discrepancy somewhere.
At the end of the day, it is Nigerians that are paying for this subsidy fraud because it is not transparent, and it is only being run by one MDA.
The third problem has to do with the principle of MDAs incurring expenditures without the necessary approval by the legislature.
Therefore, in order to get to the bottom of these pressing issues, we will be breaking them up:
-The issue of the subsidy and how it came about; as well as the issue of the scarcity that is still ongoing and the fraud of the volumes will go back to the Downstream Committee for a more comprehensive report;
-While, the issue of unauthorized public spending in the sector will be looked into by the Public Accounts Committee."

Buhari Lacks Political Will To Halt By Fulani Herdsmen - Reps b
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-17-2018, 09:40 PM - No Replies

Members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for the escalating killings by herdsmen in the country and demanded decisive actions to halt the ugly development.
They said the President’s silence showed that he lacked the political will to tackle the problem head-on, demanding prompt actions by security agencies.
The lawmakers, who reconvened in Abuja on Tuesday after their Christmas and New Year break, spoke as they debated a motion on ‘Need for the Federal Government to Declare a State of Emergency on Security over Spate of Deadly Attacks in the Country by Suspected Herdsmen.’
The motion was jointly moved by Mr. Babatunde Kolawole and Mr. Dickson Tarkighir.
A large number of the lawmakers also supported the position of the Benue State Government that ranching of cattle would go a long way in reducing the conflicts between farmers and herders.
A member, Mr. Hassan Saleh, told the session, which was presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, that the Monday meeting with Buhari in Abuja did not give any hope that a solution would soon be found.”
Saleh, a member of the All Progressives Congress from Benue State, described the government as having “failed woefully” in securing the lives and property of Nigerians.
He noted that a government, whose body language suggested that cattle had more value than the lives of its citizens, had failed the people.
Saleh told the plenary about the Monday meeting between the people of Benue State and Buhari over the attacks by herdsmen and the feeble reactions by security agencies.
He said the response the delegation got from the President did not indicate that any serious steps were being taken to contain the situation.
Saleh said, “What is happening is a failure of government right from Mr. President to all of us seated here.
“We met with Mr. President yesterday (Monday) and our takeaway was nothing. All he said was ‘go and investigate,’ (to security agencies).
“So, what is happening is that the political will to tackle this problem is not there.”
Another APC member, Mr. Orker Jev, observed that the lack of political will could be seen in the “fact that this government is not giving the herdsmen the same attention it has given to Boko Haram.”
Jev dismissed the excuse that the killers were foreigners as another sign of weakness by the government.
He said, “The political will is not there right from the Presidency. The government is not giving the herdsmen the same attention it has accorded Boko Haram insurgents.
“If the claim is that the killers are foreigners, is that not a failure of governance?
“Will you allow foreigners to come into your country, kill your citizens and you keep quiet because you have cultural affinity with the killers?”
Another APC member, Mr. John Dyegh, told the House that there was a “misrepresentation” of the anti-grazing law passed by the Benue State House of Assembly by some interests, who were opposed to it.
He informed the House that an impression was created that the state government’s intention was to chase the Fulani out of Benue, adding that “this is far from the truth.”
Dyegh said, “All the government did was to say that herdsmen could buy land, settle in the state and ranch their cattle.
“Nobody said Fulani people should leave Benue. This is where the misrepresentation comes in.”
More speakers, including Mr. Rotimi Agunsoye, Mr. Oghene Emma-Igoh, Mr. Sergious Ose-Ogun, Mr. Teseer Mark-Gbillah and Ms. Funke Adedoyin, condemned the killings by the herdsmen.
However, two members noted that both the government and Nigerians had not treated the herdsmen fairly over the years.
One of them, Mr. Sadiq Ibrahim, argued that while government, over time, provided comfort for other Nigerians, it left the herdsmen to their fate.
He stated that so long as state governors and Nigerians were unwilling to make sacrifices to protect the herdsmen by donating land to them, the violence would continue to occur.
Ibrahim opposed the idea of ranching, saying that the herdsmen did not have the technical know-how.
“The herdsman needs our pity. Nature has been harsh to him and government has not taken adequate care of him.
“We all have to make sacrifices in one way or another in order to address this problem holistically,” he added.
On her part, Mrs. Aisha Dukku, confirmed that a Fulani herder preferred to save a cow to saving his own life.
Dukku, who is an APC member from Gombe State, said, “Where is the N100bn that former President Goodluck Jonathan gave to governors to establish grazing reserves for cattle? Why is nobody calling the governors to account?”
Dogara, who had earlier welcomed his colleagues from the break, noted that the killings could be contained if security agencies were proactive.
He called on Buhari to constantly wield the big stick by sacking non-performing heads of security agencies.
“The accentuation of violent crimes is a chronic symptom of defects in our security architecture, which we must fix.
“I therefore call on Mr. President to apply maximum sanction on public officers who are derelict in the performance of their duties,” the Speaker added.
Members later passed the motion in a majority voice vote and set up an ad hoc committee to meet with service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, and the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), for a r dialogue on the killings by herdsmen.
Fulani men attack Taraba community, kill traditional ruler
Armed Fulani men on Monday evening attacked Karmen community in the Ibi Local Government Area of and killed a traditional ruler.
Caretaker Chairman of the Ibi LGA, Bala Bako, confirmed the attack and killing to one of our correspondents on the telephone on Tuesday.
Bako stated that the Fulani gunmen struck when the people of the community gathered for a security meeting.
He said, “We have some security challenges in Ibi and we have been making efforts to ensure that ethnic groups in our domain accommodate and live in peace with one another.
“The Chief of Ibi also set up a committee to find solutions to the security challenges, and it was one of the meetings of the committee that the Fulani gunmen attacked, killing the traditional ruler.”
The caretaker chairman added that one person had been arrested in connection with the killing.
Speaking on the killing of eight other persons in Gishiri and Dooshima villages and one other at Danwaza village a week ago, Bako said the killers were the Fulani herdsmen who attacked the neighbouring Logo and Guma local government areas in Benue State.
“We share border with Benue and Nasarawa states and most times the Fulani men crossed from Nasarawa, attacked us and went back, he added.
Benue, Plateau lost 14,000 people to attacks –Lalong
The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has stated that herdsmen have killed about 14,000 people from both Plateau and Benue states in recent times.
Lalong said this on Tuesday during a condolence visit to his counterpart in Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom, at the Government House, Makurdi.
Lalong, who was represented by the Plateau State Commissioner for Town Planning, Mr Festus Fwanter, led about 30 persons from Plateau to Benue State, including members of the Plateau State Elders Forum.
Lalong said, “We are both the food basket of the nation and we have both lost over 7,000 people each to herdsmen attacks, as what happened in Guma, Logo and other parts of Benue State is also happening in Bassa, Jos North and Jos South of Plateau State; and still happening till date.’
“Plateau and Benue should set aside all our differences to find a lasting solution to these killings.”
Ortom, who commended the government of Plateau State for the visit and stated that Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue states had challenges that bound them together. They include poverty, underdevelopment and insecurity.
He added that anything that affected one state had affected all the three states, stressing that the challenges were beyond them.

It was learnt that the deceased was using his private car for commercial purposes and used to return between 11:30p.m. and shortly before midnight.
It was further gathered that he lived alone in the neighbourhood where he was shot dead, as his wife and children were not living in the city.

Benue Massacre: Shehu Sani Blasts Benue Elders For Visiting Buhari
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-17-2018, 02:26 PM - No Replies

Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has lampooned Benue elders for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Villa over herdsmen killings in Benue.
In his contribution at the plenary on Tuesday, he blamed the elders saying, President Buhari ought to have visited Benue State over the incident during which the State lost over 73 indegenes and not otherwise.
“As regards to the crisis where over 73 lives were lost in Benue, it is enough for Aso Rock to travel to the scene of the crisis, not Benue elders coming to Aso Rock. To do what?”, he quipped.
The lawmaker added that politicians and leaders who have 2019 on their mind do not tell Mr. President the truth.
He was emphatic that some Senators out of 109 of them were hiding the truth, a situation he posited, did not augur well for the nation.
Sani further stressed that the three arms of government were not living up to their expectations.
“Mr. President, distinguished colleagues, the executive, legislature and judicial arms of government are not living up to expectations, particularly as to the oat of the office regarding the protection of lives and property of the citizens of this country”, he said.
“When people are being killed in Benue State, we are here hiding the truth to please Mr. President,” he added.
He chided governors that endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari at a time Nigerians were mourning the loss of their loved ones, adding that their intentions were evil.
“The leaders are supposed to find the way out to secure the lives and property of Benue State; some are busy endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari for second term in office, which is barbaric”, he said.
“I wonder if indeed we would genuinely admit that the inscription above the seat of Senate President that reads ‘Unity, Faith, Peace and Progress’ is being witnessed in Nigeria today,” he added.

Sanusi’s Claim That 800 Fulani Were Killed, A Lie – Taraba Govt, CAN

Sanusi’s claim that 800 Fulani were killed, a lie – Taraba govt, CAN
The Taraba State Government and the Christian Association of Nigeria chapter in the state on Tuesday described as outright false the claim by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, that over 800 Fulani people were killed in the state last year.
Sanusi had in an interview with the Sunday Punch alleged that on one weekend, 800 Fulani were killed on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba State.
“I personally handed over to the Federal Government a dossier with the names and pictures of 800 Fulani people slaughtered in Taraba as well as names of persons known to have participated in the act of ethnic cleansing but nothing has been done,” Sanusi had alleged.
But the state government, through the Commissioner for Justice and the Attorney General of the state, Yusufu Akirikwen, denied Sanusi’s claim, describing it as ill-intended.
According to him the state government was able to contain the crisis within a record time and a commission of inquiry was constituted immediately to look into the cause of the crisis.
He added that the committee had submitted its report and that government had constituted a white paper drafting committee which will soon make the findings and recommendations of the report public.
“We received memoranda from individuals and groups during the committee’s public hearing and nobody came out with that figure. How come Sanusi arrived at his figure of 800 people killed in the clash that lasted for less than three days?
“So, I challenge Sanusi to tell Nigerians where he got his figure from. Did he come down to Mambilla to conduct the headcount of the dead people?
“Where did he get his figure of 800 from and the names and pictures of only Fulani people killed in the crisis? Has he done that before now?
“We have another crisis in Lau, let him also come down and conduct his research to prove to Nigerians that he is not being unnecessarily bias in his false accusation against the Taraba State Government,” he said.
The Attorney General urged leaders to always guard their utterances and not descend so low in making false claims capable of threatening the unity of the country.
Also, the state CAN in a press statement issued in Jalingo on Tuesday and signed by its chairman, Dr. Ben Ubeh, debunked Sanusi’s claim and urged him to stop fuelling false propaganda and whipping up sentiments in favour of his kinsmen “who are in actual sense, killing people on a daily basis in some parts of the country.”
“The records are there in most of the national dailies that reported the communal clash on the Mambilla last year. NGOs, UNCHR and other international organisations visited the Mambilla in the wake of that crisis, but in all of these the highest number of death recorded from both sides was 18.
“How is it possible to manipulate the figures and force all the different agencies to report 18 casualty figure. Obviously, the 800 Fulani people that were slaughtered according to Sanusi only existed in his imagination,” the statement said.
While calling on the Federal Government to drop the idea of cattle colonies, CAN urged the government to assist herdsmen to build private ranches.
The Christian organisation also urged the Federal Government to look into the plight of the over 10,000 internally displaced persons currently in camps as a result of herdsmen’s attacks in the state.

Inflation Rate Declines To 15.37% In 2017 – Nbs

INFLATION RATE DECLINES TO 15.37% IN 2017 – NBS
source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2018/01/infla...-2017.html
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has disclosed that the nation’s inflation rate slowed down to 15.37 per cent in 2017, making it the 11th consecutive decline year-on-year since January 2017. The Bureau, in its Consumer Price Index (CPI) December 2017 report, said inflation rate slowed by 0.53 per cent points, lower than 15.90 per cent rate recorded in November. A review of 2017 inflation rate showed that the rate opened at 18.72 per cent in January 2017 to close at 17.78 per cent in February. In March, inflation rate closed at 17.26 per cent, the second decline recorded in two months. The bureau had explained that growing prices in Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuels, Education and Transport contributed to hike in inflation rate in the first quarter of 2017, following the unstable foreign exchange market. Economy indicator had revealed that, while economy growth declined, the rise in inflation was inevitable as falling exchange rate and rising foreign prices passed through directly to domestic prices. However, the inflation rate closed April at 17.24 per cent, 16.25 per cent in May 2017 and 16.10 per cent in June. In the third quarter, the inflation rate slowed marginally to 16.05 per cent in July, 16.01 per cent in August and 15.98 per cent in September. Towards the end of 2017, October to be precise, Inflation rate moved to 15.91 per cent in October and 15.90 per cent in November. According to Eyes Of Lagos investigation, The report released by NBS yesterday noted that on a month-on-month basis, the headline index increased by 0.59 per cent in December 2017, 0.19 per cent points higher from the rate of 0.78 per cent recorded in November. It said the percentage change in the average composite CPI for the twelve month period ending in December 2017 over the average of the CPI for the previous twelve month period was 16.50 percent, showing 0.26 percent point lower from 16.76 percent recorded in November 2017. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr. Godwin Emefiele at the Annual Bankers’ Dinner in November had said, “Monetary policy stance could change when the underlying fundamentals become supportive. If the pace of disinflation becomes adequate and we see inflation at predicted levels, I am very optimistic that MPC may begin to see strong justification for an easing of monetary policy, which may further accelerate the recovery process. “We believe that it may return to very low double digit or high single digit levels during the next year. Though the base effect had diminished, I expect that as the socio-economic factors that are driving food inflation are resolved the inertia therein would dissipate and the pace of headline disinflation will grow”. Analysts at InvestmentOne Research said December 2017 Inflation report may further confirm expectations for the rise in consumer prices to moderate in 2018, on the back of the high base effect of 2017 as well as the willingness of the present administration to curtail any potential increase in energy and food prices, given the negative impact it may have on re-election prospects. The InvestmentOne Research noted: “Our view remains that as we see headline inflation moderate towards the CBN’s target (11-12per cent) we are likely to see the Apex bank move to a more accommodative monetary policy. “Nonetheless, we see the on-going scarcity of PMS, which contributed to the +18per cent m/m increase in the average PMS price paid by consumers in December 2017 (c.N172/litre), as a potential downside risk to our outlook, as well as disruptions to activities in the Agriculture sector and election spending”. Elaborating on the implications, they said potential for a further decline in the rate of increase in consumer prices should be a positive for company performances in 2018, which should be a supportive of the equities market. While speaking in Lagos, Minister of Budget and National Planning Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma said, “There is so much potential in the country and it is this potential and the results of our initiatives that make the 2018 outlook so positive. “So, we are targeting a GDP growth rate of 3.5 per cent for this year and 7 per cent by 2020, and an inflation rate of 12.54 per cent for 2018 and single digit inflation of 9.9 per cent by 2020”

Nigerian equities hit all-time N15.78tr high
Posted By: Taofik Salako On: January 17, 2018
Nigerian equities scored a double yesterday as sustained scramble for quoted shares ballooned the aggregate market value of all quoted equities to N15.783 trillion, the highest in the 57 years of trading at the stock market.
The All Share Index (ASI)-the benchmark index that tracks share prices at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), also rallied to its nine-year high at 44,054.72 points. The ASI had hit 66,000 points at the height of the unprecedented stock bubble in 2008.
The NSE was established as Lagos Stock Exchange in 1960 but it started formal trading in 1961. The NSE began trading with 19 securities; there are more than 160 quoted companies now.
With nearly three gainers to every loser, bullish trend gathered momentum as the management of the NSE yesterday unfolded its strategic plan for the new business year. The ASI recorded a day-on-day increase of 2.17 per cent to close at 44,054.72 points as against its opening index of 43,119.00 points. Aggregate market value of all quoted equities also rose from its opening value of N15.447 trillion to close at N15.783 trillion, representing a net capital gain of N336 billion.
With this, the average year-to-date return jumped to 15.2 per cent, equivalent to net capital gain of about N2.17 trillion so far this year.
At a review of 2017 and preview of 2018 yesterday at the NSE, Chief Executive Officer Mr Oscar Onyema said the outlook for the Nigerian capital market is encouraging.
”Indeed, to some extent, political activities and currency movements will have some effect on the market, but we expect that such impacts will be short lived and the performance of the underlying business activities will ultimately determine market performance,” Onyema said.
He added that the NSE was on track to become a more agile and flexible demutualised securities exchange.
“We are hopeful that the Demutualization Bill will be signed into law in 2018, and are working assiduously with our advisers to fine-tune outstanding aspects of the demutualization project as well as providing clarity and transparency on the process via regular engagement with all our valued stakeholders,” Onyema said.
In 2018, Onyema said the NSE will launch Exchange Traded Derivative instruments and continue to engage with the government on privatization and listing of state owned enterprises in collaboration with the private sector.
The Exchange will also maintain its role as an advocate for the adoption and implementation of market friendly policies.
According to him, in keeping with its objective of taking a vigorous and adaptive approach to strategy execution, the NSE re-assessed its strategic agenda in the light of changing dynamics in both the operating environment and the global exchange landscape against the backdrop of the fourth industrial revolution. This culminated in a new corporate strategy for the 2018 – 2021 period.
“Our efforts will be geared at satisfying our customers, boosting our domestic retail segment, and enhancing our organisation for a demutualized structure,” Onyema said.

Recall that  there was power outage across Nigeria on Tuesday, 2nd January, 2017’s night.
Gas constraint, maintenance issues and other challenges forced Nigeria’s power generation down amid New Year celebrations on Monday and later Tuesday night, an industry report obtained by PREMIUM TIMES revealed.
According to the operational report prepared by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, for Monday, the power generated for the first day of the year stood at 4,685 MW, out of a peak demand forecast of 17,720 MW and generation capacity of 7,871 MW.
The report put the eight-hour power generation for the day at 4,257 MW between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m., 3,915 MW between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 4,686 MW between 5 p.m. and 12 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The report revealed that power plants such as Kainji, Trans-Amadi and Olorunsogo were shut down due to gas constraints. Others like Alaoji and Geregu NIPP were out due to maintenance issues.
The report said that the peak generation till date, put at 5,222 MW, was recorded on December 18, 2017, while the maximum available capacity – what can actually be generated – to date, put at 7,652 MW, was recorded in April 2014.
The power ministry, in a statement in the early hours of Wednesday blamed the outage on fire at a gas pipeline system which interrupted gas supply and affected the national transmission grid.
“The sudden loss of generation due to interruption in gas supply from these stations caused the national transmission grid to trip off around 20:20 on 2nd January 2018. The national transmission grid is owned and operated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN),” the ministry stated.
The statement signed by the power minister, Babatunde Fashola, said the problem would be temporary,
By Wednesday morning, electricity had been restored in many parts of the country.

MY JOB TESTIMONY STORY AND SOME ADVICE TO ALL THE YOUTHS HERE..(DO NOT STAY AT HOME AND WAIT FOR MANNER TO FALL ON YOU IF THAT PLACE YOU ARE DOESN'T FAVOUR YOU BIKO RELOCATE).. MINE DIDN'T FAVOUR ME FROM ONITSHA AND I RELOCATED TO ABUJA FOR MY OWN GOOD NOT FOR MY PARENTS...
I thank God for my life so far and a wonderful Federal job he gave to me last year December as a Christmas gift.. I could vividly remember when i was planning to come to Abuja last year February 2017 to chase for my dreams, everybody were telling me that Abuja is a place where all the single ladies turnout to become Runs babes and it's always difficult for them to marry there in Abuja but to all said and done i didn't give up because my spirit was pushing me to go there that i must make it..
As i came to Abuja February 12 2017 i couldn't stay at home for just 2weeks i started looking for a job immediately going to different offices to submit my CV but any office that i entered they i will ask me if am a computer literate once i said No, they will tell me that they need a computer literate not until one M.D advice me to go and register for computer school instead of me to be looking for a job without the knowledge of computer, I should use that means and time to do so and i gladly did... On my first day of going for my computer school, i saw a sign post (workers urgently needed) i decided to go there hoping that i have gotten a job immediately not knowing it's all this job applicants Agents but that day i didn't have any option than for me to register with them...

I started doing the job with happiness, smile, Neatness, jovial and making some staffs my friends immediately without dulling myself oo.. As a sharp Anambra babe i started distributing my CV's immediately in their offices both all the Oga's and junior staffs because i didn't neglect anyone at all..*Note* DON'T NEGLECT ANYONE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHO MIGHT BE YOUR DESTINY HELPER ... I was so bold enough to talk with the highly respected Oga's in their offices because my God was with me i didn't shiver nor became afraid..I see myself talking with them as if they are just like every other person..Lol..GOD IS TOO MUCH.. The last Oga that i went to his office ( He is a muslim) asked me what gave me the courage and boldness that am a New security lady and what gave me the audacity to come to his office.. I told him that God sent me to him that i heard his in charge of Employment that's why i came, Immediately he started laughing interviewing me and after everything he collected my CV and that was how he became my friend because of my Boldness...
*Note* DO NOT GIVEUP AND DON'T ALLOW FEAR TO TAKE AWAY YOUR DESTINY...
ALWAYS HAVE PATIENT..
HUMILITY AND SINCERE PAYS....
MAKE FRIENDS ANYWHERE YOU FIND YOURSELF..

Controversial Red Wedding Dress: Mercy Aigbe threatens to sue designer and bride
[Image: Designer-who-gave-brides-dress-to-Mercy-...oshoot.jpg]
Mercy Aigbe has threatened to sue aggrieved bride, Lawrentta Adesuwa Sawyer, and designer, Rikaotobyme (Maryam Elisha) for ‘her accusing her falsely and trying to cast aspersions on her personThe bride through her lawyer had accused Rikaotobyme and Mercy Aigbe of fraudulent conspiracy to convert their client’s property for “selfish gains.”
Mercy has now taken to Instagram to react.
Read below...
The lingering ‘Red Dress’ issue continued this morning as the bride threatened to sue the designer Rikaotobyme and also falsely accused me of connivance with the said designer …..( without substantial proof or evidence )

Having served Rikaotobyme a letter tru my lawyer on Jan 8 to issue an official statement on the above subject matter with clear indications that I have never met her before or transacted business with her which she failed to do, I have instructed my lawyer to go ahead and seek redress.
For the bride, in as much as I sympathize with her, I take exception to her accusing me falsely and trying to cast aspersions on my person.
I have given the bride tru her lawyers 7 days to retract the statement that read thus; ‘the sequence detailed above has evidenced a deliberate and fraudulent conspiracy between the designer and Ms Mercy Aigbe to convert our client’s legal property for selfish gains’. This is a malicious allegation. Whao, where is the legal property I want to convert. What a statement. I hereby demand a retraction and public apology, failure to do so I will have no option than to seek redress in the law court by suing her ( the bride) and the designer for false accusation and trying to defame my person…….???”
Recall that the bride had written to Maryam the fashion designer demanding a compensation from her.
Maryam in a post she shared in the first week, 'apologised' to the aggrieved bride online and added that the bride had refused to pick her calls.

2019 Toyota Avalon debuts In Detroit - MotorAuthority

Demand for mainstream sedans may be waning but not at Toyota it seems.

A year on from redesigning its Camry, the Japanese firm has taken the covers off a redesigned Avalon.

The new 2019 Avalon was presented for the first time on Monday at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The car rides on the longest version of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) modular platform and measures 196 inches in length, which is 0.7 inches up on the outgoing model. The wheelbase is up almost 2.0 inches, leading to a roomier cabin. Speaking of the cabin, there is a surprising level of sophistication here, including the ability to order real wood and metal trim.

Past the steering wheel, a 7.0-inch infotainment shows vehicle information, turn-by-turn navigation, and various vehicle settings. And there's connectivity, too, including a WiFi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and even Amazon Alexa support.

In the powertrain department, you'll find the choice of a 3.5-liter V-6 or a 2.5-liter inline-4-based hybrid. Although power output ratings haven't been announced for the Avalon, they'll likely match the performance the same powertrains deliver in the related Camry. In the smaller sedan, the V-6 is rated at 301 horsepower and the hybrid at 208 hp. The V-6 is mated to an 8-speed automatic while the hybrid relies on a CVT.

All 2019 Avalons will come standard with a high level of safety gear. The list includes collision avoidance gear such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warnings, active lane control, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, and automatic high beams on every model. Additionally, the Avalon is fitted with 10 airbags and a rearview camera, also as standard.

Production will be handled at Toyota's plant in Georgetown, Kentucky and the first examples should reach showrooms in the fall, where they'll be competing with the likes of the Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala and Kia Cadenza. The latter served as a benchmark for Toyota engineers during much of the Avalon's real-world testing.

Patience Jonathan's House In Abuja Demolished (Photos)
The former first lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan, allegedly property  was on Tuesday, demolished by Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Development Control Department.

Reacting to the demolition, counsel to the former first lady, Emmanuel Anene, said the FCDA had no right to demolish the building as the relevant authorities had been shown the building plan.

Sometime before, people from development control came to the site, alleging that there was no approval for the building. We met them at their office and showed them the approval, which they accepted. We thought that the matter was over. They had earlier gone to court with application for forfeiture of the property to the government which they failed to achieve at the Lagos high court. So we were surprised that a team came in this afternoon without notifying us to remove the structure. Also, we were not served with any notice for demolition, they just came in now and started the demolition of the structure.” he said

Director of Development Control, FCTA, Muktar Usman says the building had no approval and that notice was served for the demolition of the property.

The allegedly building is located in Mabushi District of the nation’s capital, was being used to run a Foundation owned by the former first lady.

Stick Only To Your Religious Calling, Presidency Tells CAN Scribe, Musa Asake
[Image: BUHARI.jpg]
The Presidency on Tuesday night told the General Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Dr. Musa Asake to face his religious calling and not to meddle into politics.

The Presidency also debunked the allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari has violated some provisions of the nation’s constitution.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu in a statement in Abuja while reacting to the statement credited to the CAN scribe where he was said to have accused the President of violating the provisions of the constitution said that there was no aspect of the constitution that had been breached by the President.

Shehu in the statement said, “Our attention has been drawn to reports of a press conference by General Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Dr. Musa Asake in which he passed a judgement on the constitutionality of certain actions of the Muhammadu Buhari administration. “Unfortunately, he could (not) cite any valid cases of constitutional violations.

President Muhammadu government poses no threat to the country’s democracy and Constitution. “There are no cases of any violation of our sacred constitution and there will be none under this President. The respected religious leader should stick to his religious duties and leave politics for politicians.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 17TH JANUARY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ THE DARKNESS HAS NOTHING IN YOU✨

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the PRINCE OF THIS WORLD cometh, and hath nothing in me (John 14:30).

From the verse above, it’s obvious who “the prince of this world” is; it certainly couldn’t be Jesus or the Father. It’s Satan. The Bible says, “...now shall the prince of this world be cast out” (John 12:31). 2 Corinthians 4:4 calls him the “god of this world”: “In whom the GOD OF THIS WORLD hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Satan is the god of this world’s system, and that’s the reason the world is in a mess. And when the Bible says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15), it’s addressing the world’s system, and all it stands for: the worldliness, for which Satan is the prince. You don’t belong in that world, and must therefore not play by its rules. Jesus said you’re not of this world (John 15:19).

You’re not of the darkness. You’ve been called out, plucked out of darkness into God’s marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Therefore, affirm that there’s nothing of darkness in you. Your affections, desires, and pleasures are set on high, on things above and not on things in the earth. Have no desire for anything of the world, because you’re complete in Christ.

When Jesus said, “…for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me,” (John 14:30), He was affirming His completeness in God, and detachment from Satan and anything of the world. That’s the way He wants you to think. You don’t require anything of this world, because you’re complete in Christ in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9-10). You’re full and replete with God. There’s no room in you for Satan and his evil works of darkness. Let this be your daily confession.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your precious Son, Jesus. As He is, so am I in this world. The prince of this world has nothing in me; I’m full of God, complete in Christ, and I have no desire for the world and its worldliness, because the love of the Father is in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY
Romans 8:10-11
And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 Thessalonians 5:5
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

# AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 17TH JANUARY.
I affirm that God has made all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to me, so that I may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. This is my time and my season; I am rightly positioned by the Spirit of the Lord for a wealth transfer. Hallelujah! The Spirit of God has open the eyes of my understanding to the right connections and ideas I need to be ahead in my field. I am divinely connected with all resources—human, material, financial—that are consistent with my destiny in Christ. My eyes are anointed to see opportunities everywhere I go, and I am divinely empowered to take advantage of them. I believe and acknowledge the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who though was rich, made Himself poor that I might become rich. I accept my prosperity as His will and plan for my life. Hallelujah! God has given unto me the hidden treasures of the earth, and my gates are continually open to receive. Blessed be God! Hallelujah!

FFK Blasts CNN For Reporting That Herdsmen Attack Is A Clash Over Piece Of Land
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-16-2018, 09:46 PM - No Replies

Former minister for aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode (SAN) has described CNN’s report on Fulani herdsmen attack as fake news.
Fani Kayode said the CNN report classifying herdsmen attack as farmers’ and herdsmen’ clash over piece of land was false and shallow. He queried why a case of ethnic cleansing could be reported as such on the news platform.
See what he tweeted;
“Amazed about how shallow and uninformed @CNN’s report on the Fulani herdsmen was this morning.
“To reduce cases of ethnic cleansing and genocide to mere “clashes between farmers and herdsmen” and to say that the matter is only about land is dishonest and disingenious. Fake news!”

Nigerian Army Releases 244 Repentant Boko Haram Suspects To Borno Govt
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Quote:The Nigerian Army on Monday handed over 244 Boko Haram suspects, who it said have given up membership of the terrorist group, to the Borno State government.

The handing over of the suspects was in commemoration of the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The suspects comprise 56 women, 118 adult male, 19 under aged persons and 51 children.

Presenting the suspects at the Military Cemetery in Maiduguri, venue of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Rogers Nicholas, a major-general, said the release of the repentant Boko Haram members was approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, a Lieutenant-General .

He said the suspects had been properly screened and confirmed to have sincerely repented of allegiance to the group.

The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, commended the military for its ongoing de-radicalisation efforts in the war against the almost nine year old Boko Haram insurgency.

Mr. Shettima took time to speak with some of the insurgents who assured him of their readiness to be absorbed into the society and promised to be law abiding citizens.

The high point of the Remembrance Day event was the laying of wreaths by the governor and top military officers.

Donald Duke Indicates Interest To Run For President In 2019
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River state says that he will contest for presidency in 2019
The former governor notes that he will start the process at the right time
- Duke attributes the failure of governance on the lack of consequences for erring leaders
Former Cross River state governor, Donald Duke, on Sunday night, January 14 in Abuja has said that he will contest to become Nigeria next president in the 2019 general elections, Vanguard reports.
African Entertainment gathered that Duke, who declared his interest at the 3rd Mike Omotosho Annual Lecture titled, “Mellinials as Protagonists in Nation Building,” promised to kick-start the process at the right circumstances.

He said: “I am entitled to run for the presidency of this country. I am entitled to it. Only on right circumstances I will aspire for it. I don’t shy away from responsibility, only the right circumstance, I will aspire for presidency of this country. I have what it takes to be president of this country."

However the former governor, challenged the youths to fully participate in the electoral process by getting their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and sensitising others ahead of 2019 general election.
Duke said, “I hear young people say to me that why would there spend hours queuing and casting their votes when at the end their votes won’t count. And I tell that if their parents conceived them they never gave up on them considering the high mortality rate so why would there not take a chance in building this nation?
“We had young leadership at one stage or the other. Even in our first republic, besides the likes of Awolowo, Tafawa Balewa, M. T. Mbu was in his twenties when he became a minister.

“Gowon was 30 when he became the head of state. It comes back to the disaster therein because most of them didn’t have experience in governance, which led us into war. We need the combination of both.
“What I think we should be doing is to a government that is youth friendly to provide opportunities because we need to groom the next set of leadership.”
The former governor, while rating the activities of the present administration, said, there was disconnection between President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members, adding that: “The challenge we have today is the disconnect. That is the challenge of the governance today. Because if you speak with the folks in government, and I am been candid here.
I think we should stop to deceive ourselves here and stop all these political correctness. There is disconnecting between the president and even the ministers.”

He attributed the failure of governance on the lack of consequences for erring leaders which has given room for incompetence.
African Entertainment previously reported that Former Cross River state governor, Donald Duke, on Thursday, November 2, 2017, criticised President Muhammadu Buhari-led government for rejoicing over Nigeria’s ‘exit’ from recession.

This Day reports that Duke, who said he was broke, also advised the administration to work harder, stating that the masses were yet to feel the development.
Duke sounded a bleak warning that all is not well in Nigeria, despite the September news that the country was out of recession.

Quote:Armed Fulani men on Monday evening attacked Karmen community in Ibi local government area of Taraba State and killed a local traditional ruler.
The caretaker chairman of Ibi local government council, Hon. Bala Bako , confirmed the attack and killing in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Jalingo .
Bako told our correspondent that the Fulani gunmen struck when the people of the community gathered for a security meeting .
“ We have some security challenges in Ibi and we have been making efforts to ensure that ethnic groups in our domain accommodate and live in peace with one another.
“ The Chief of Ibi also set up a committee which has been meeting to find solution to the security challenges , and it was in one of the meetings that the Fulani gunmen attacked and killed the traditional ruler.
“ They gathered and were waiting for us for the security meeting when suddenly armed Fulani men emerged and started shooting . The local chief was killed during the attack , using Fulani sticks , by the attackers , ” he said .
The Caretaker Chairman who said he mobilised security men who went and evacuated the corpse said , one person was arrested in connection with the killing and investigation into the attack was ongoing .
Speaking on the killing of eight other persons in Gishiri and Dooshima villages and one other at Danwaza village a week ago , Bako said the killers were the Fulani gunmen who attacked the neighbouring Benue State in Logo and Guma local government areas .
“ We share border with Benue and Nasarawa states and most times these Fulanis crossed from Nasarawa , attack and go back , but we are trying to close all the routes they are using to cross and attack us .
“ The killing in Dooshima and Gishiri around Sarkin Kudu were done by those people who attacked Benue . On their way back to Nasarawa , they killed anyone they met on the way , ” he said .
It could be recalled that attacks on several communities across Taraba in the past weeks left at least 68 people dead in Lau , 11 in Wukari and 6 in Gassol local government areas of the state .

Bishop Ezeokofor Reacts To Benue Killings
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-16-2018, 04:04 PM - No Replies

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese in Anambra State, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor said yesterday that the situation in the troubled Benue State required special intervention from security operatives in the mould of Operation Python Dance carried out in the South East and Operation Crocodile Smile in the South –South combined.

Speaking during a special service to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, the cleric challenged the Nigerian security operatives to apply similar measures used in unmasking those behind the brutal killings of over 20 worshippers on the New Year’s eve at Omoku, Rivers State in fishing out those behind the Benue massacre.

According to him, mere deployment of officers and men of the Nigeria Police to the troubled state may not yield the desired result. He said:

“Just check all those buried recently in Benue; they are mainly Christians. Check all the attacks, you will discover that Christians are being killed in their numbers. Is this another form of carrying out a hidden agenda or are these killers on conquest mission? ‘The worst is that those behind the dastardly acts are yet to be made known. What are they waiting for? “They said it was communal crisis, why not name the communities involved? I saw trailer loads of dead bodies going for the mass burial and I ask, why are they not using the Don Waney’s method to get the killers in Benue State? “Operation Python Dance was declared on the harmless IPOB protesters and many were gunned down for no just cause,’ Bishop Ezeokafor said.

Leke Adeboye, Pastor Adeboye's Son Reacts To Alleged Arrest Of Prophet El-buba

Leke Adeboye, Pastor Adeboye's son and P.A to his father, has also joined those condemning the arrest of Prophet Isa El-Buba. Leke in his Facebook post asked how many herdsmen have been arrested lately over the attack in Benue and Taraba states.

Recall that earlier today, we reported that operatives of the DSS were reportedly sent to arrest Prophet Isa El-Buba, the General Overseer of the Evangelical Bible Outreach International (EBOMI) Ministries, at his home yesterday by 7pm, over his recent condemnation of Fulani herdsmen attack and blaming President Buhari for being irresponsible and wicked.

Here's what Leke Adeboye wrote;

I just woke up, upset this morning. I don't know why. Wait I actually do. Maybe it's because DSS is trying to arrest Prophet El Buba in JOS. Why? For his strong vidoes, please how many herds men have you arrested lately? What are we doing here? We will be watching and waiting.

Crude Oil Price Hits $70 P/B Despite Surging US Output

Crude oil price hits $70 per barrel Monday despite surging production by the United States, which is offset by the production cuts led by the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Russia.
The international benchmark Brent crude futures rose above $70 per barrel earlier in the session before trading at $69.69 per barrel.
The United States West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $64.22 per barrel but Reuters reported that trading was relatively slow due to a national holiday in the United States.
After falling from an all-time high of $147 per barrel in July 2008, Brent crude price had hit a peak of $115 per barrel in June 2014 before the excess inventory in the oil market forced the price down to $27 per barrel in February 2016.

WTI also reached a peak of $105 per barrel in June 2014 before the sharp drop in oil prices.
However, a production-cutting pact between the OPEC, Russia and other producers has given a strong tailwind to oil prices, with both benchmarks hitting levels not seen since December 2014.
OPEC, together with Russia and a group of other producers, last November extended an output-cutting deal to cover all of 2018.
The cartel had at their November 30, 2017 meeting agreed to extend oil output cuts until the end of 2018 as part of the global efforts to eliminate excess oil supply that had dogged oil prices in the markets since 2014.
The current deal, under which OPEC and non-OPEC producers are cutting supply by about 1.8 million barrels per day, expires in March 2018.
OPEC is cutting output by even more than it promised and the restraint is reducing oil stocks globally, a trend most visible in the United States, the world’s largest and most transparent oil market.
Growing signs of a tightening market after a three-year rout have bolstered confidence among traders and analysts that prices can be sustained near current levels.
The decision to extend the production cuts has seen crude oil prices rising, but a major factor countering efforts by OPEC and Russia is US oil production which has soared and is fast approaching 10 million bpd.
A number of analysts have warned that the 13 per cent rally since the start of 2018 could peter out in the short term due to global refinery maintenance, which could limit crude demand and rising North American production.
With oil prices above $60, Russia had earlier before the extension of the output cuts, expressed concern that an extension for the whole of 2018 could prompt a spike in crude production in the United States, which is not participating in the deal.
Russia needs much lower oil prices to balance its budget than OPEC’s leader Saudi Arabia, which is preparing a stock market listing for national energy giant Aramco this year and would hence benefit from pricier crude.
However, some in the producers’ group fear current price gains could prompt shale companies to flood the market.
US crude oil production is expected to hit 10 million barrels per day (bpd) this month, leaving only Russia and Saudi Arabia at higher levels.
US energy companies added 10 oil rigs in the week to January 12, taking the number to 752, energy service firm Baker Hughes said at the weekend.
That was the biggest increase since June 2017.
In Canada, energy firms almost doubled the number of rigs drilling for oil last week to 185, the highest level in 10 months.

Stock Market Sustains Rally as Index Hits 43,119.08, Market Cap Now N15.4tn

Nigerian stocks rose further Monday as the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share Index (ASI) climbed to a new high of 43,119.08 while market capitalisation hit N15.447 trillion. This follows sustained rally in the market since the beginning of 2018, which has seen the Nigerian exchange gaining the most among the 96 major exchanges tracked by Bloomberg.
As at the close of trading Monday, the market’s main equity index, which is the NSE ASI, had advanced by 12.7 per cent. This meant that the Nigerian market, which recovered from a three-year fall to gain 42.3 per cent last year, had appreciated further by 12.7 per cent in 10 trading days of 2018. Market capitalisation of equities had grown by N1.837 trillion since the beginning of the year.

The rally has mainly been driven by the banking, consumer, insurance, and industrial goods sectors of the market. Specifically, the NSE Banking Index that led the market last year with a growth of 73.3 per cent, has appreciated by 20 per cent this year, outperforming the NSE ASI by 7.3 per cent.
The NSE Industrial Goods Index followed with a growth of 16.9 per cent, while the NSE Insurance Index has appreciated by 11.4 per cent, NSE Oil/Gas Index has appreciated by 8.4 per cent, just as the NSE Consumer Goods Index has advanced by 7.2 per cent.
Market operators have attributed the Bull Run to investors’ reaction to rising oil prices, positive macroeconomic outlook and high expectations for impressive 2017 full year results.
Besides, Nigerian equities are seen as still having significant upside, hence investors are swooping on the stocks.
Bloomberg had reported that the bull run will probably be sustained as prices for oil, Nigeria’s main export continue to rise, while investors look to increase their holdings of what remains among the cheapest stocks in Africa, according to the asset management arm of South African lender FirstRand Limited.
“For investors wanting more exposure to consumers in Africa and Nigeria, in particular, the outlook is good,” said Paul Clark, a money manager in Johannesburg at Ashburton Investments, which owns Nigerian stocks, including Seplat Petroleum Development Co. “The banking sector is probably the most attractive at the moment, especially the tier-2 lenders.”
Despite the gains so far, Nigerian valuations are still considered the cheapest among the major African equity indexes.
Nigerian stocks trade at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 10.2, while South Africa’s are at 14 and the MSCI Emerging Market Index is at 13.
“For long-term investors, Nigerian equities were a screaming bargain,” said Nick Ndiritu, co-manager of Allan Gray’s $389 million Africa equity fund, which doesn’t include South Africa. “Investor sentiment has turned more bullish on Nigeria and a re-rating of the Nigerian stock market is now underway.”
A look at the banking sector that is driving the rally showed most of the stocks have surged above 50 per cent so far this year. Sterling Bank Plc has gained 76.8 per cent, while FCMB Group has appreciated 71.6 per cent. Diamond Bank Plc has recorded a growth of 69 per cent, while Skye Bank Plc trading 68 per cent above its year’s opening price. Unity Bank Plc has appreciated by 54.7 per cent, while Wema Bank Plc has gained 51.9 per cent among others.
The banking sector had similarly led the market with some of the stocks rising above 150 per cent. Fidelity Bank Plc topped the gainers’ chart in 2017 with 192.9 per cent. Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc followed with 176.7, while FBN Holding Plc went up by 162.7 per cent.

National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN) says Nigeria has emerged fourth largest producer of cashew in the world.

The association said Nigeria produced 220,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts out of World’s total of 2.1 million tonnes last year, adding that the country exported 120,000 metric tonnes in the year under review.

NCAN President, Tola Fasheru who stated this in Abuja, Thursday when he visited the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ms. Aisha Abubakar also revealed that cashew farmers in the country earned N123 billion ($402 million) from the export of cashew last year and between 2015 and 2017, earned $813.05m (N284.5bn) in foreign exchange from the exportation of cashew.

Fasheru called on the Federal Government to save the industry from collapse through initiatives such as the provision of incentives to farmers to expand their trade and protection of farms against encroachment from foreigners.

He also made other requests to the Federal Government to include the provision of N20 billion loans to the farmers to expand their trade, urgent need to address the persistent gridlock in Apapa, Lagos which affects exports and the provision of 2.6 million jute bags for bagging cashew nuts this year.

The NCAN boss noted that export earnings from cashew nuts have witnessed a steady increase in the last two years, rising from $ 152, 000,000 in 2015, to $259,000,000 in 2016 and $402, 050,000 in 2017.

He revealed that NCAN’s major trading partners are the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), African Cashew Alliance (ACA), USAID/NEXTT, while it also collaborates with the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPCI).

Fasheru commended efforts by the Federal Government towards making cashew a major revenue earner, adding that Nigerian cashew nuts are highly sought-after in the international markets.

In her remarks, Ms. Abubakar expressed Federal Government’s commitment towards supporting the cashew farmers.

She commended NCAN for its contributions to growing the cashew industry value chain and growth of the economy through job creation and foreign exchange earnings.

The minister promised that ministry would partner with other agencies in tackling the challenges facing the cashew farmers and exporters.

Efcc’s Attempt To Arrest Abba Kyari Sparks Panic In Aso Rock

Quote:The Chief of Staff was said to have quickly notified the Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Mr. Lawan Daura, of the impending arrest. Mr. Daura, who has been offering protection to high profile corrupt persons, using his office, immediately deployed a platoon of DSS officers to stop Magu from carrying out the arrest.

The DSS officers, however, were stiffly resisted by soldiers guarding the Presidential Villa and its environs. The DSS officers were ordered back by the soldiers, who were said to have told them that they needed express permission to come to the Presidential Villa. The stand-off provoked more panic in Mr. Kyari, who believed that the arrest might have been ordered by the President.

SaharaReporters learned that Mr. Magu was in the Lagos office of the commission, but was summoned by President Buhari for a briefing on Monday. On arrival for the briefing by the President, Presidency disclosed that President Buhari was said to have been angry that the EFCC was planning to arrest his Chief of Staff without his knowledge. Mr. Magu was said to have told the President he had not ordered a raid on Mr. Kyari’s residence, but won’t disclose if there was investigation being conducted on him.

SaharaReporters had reported extensively on Mr. Kyari’s abuse of his office for huge pecuniary gains.

The EFCC, SaharaReporters learned, has received numerous petitions against the Chief of Staff, with the petitioners calling for his removal. The President, however, has ignored them.

Designer who gave bride’s dress to Mercy Aigbe for photoshoot has been sued

The aggrieved bride is seeking compensation for the breach by the designer
An aggrieved bride, Lawrentta Adesuwa Sawyer, broke the Nigerian social media sphere on January 1st this year, when she called out designer, Maryam Elisha of Rikato by Me, for giving her wedding reception dress to actress Mercy Aigbe to use for her 40th birthday photoshoot.

             Bride                            Designer                         Mercy Aigbe
The bride in her post online said she gave Maryam the red fabric to make her wedding reception dress in December 2017 and that Maryam failed to deliver the dress to her on the date they agreed. She recognised her dress on Mercy Aigbe and immediately called out Maryam.

It became an internet sensation with many Nigerians calling on her to sue Maraym. Well, it appears she is taking the legal step as her lawyers have written to Maryam demanding a compensation from her.
Recall that Maryam in a post she shared in the first week, apologised to the aggrieved bride online and added that the bride had refused to pick up her calls.
Mercy last week reacted to the controversy the dress has generated. In a statement she posted on her Instagram page, the actress says she has contacted her lawyers to look into the matter.

The statement read;

I have followed events as they unfold following a particular dress I wore for a photoshoot. First, I must say that I sincerely sympathise with the bride as this situation is painful, unfortunate and regrettably avoidable.
I hired and paid Seun @styledbyseun for the photoshoot as a stylist and got four dresses for the shoot. Seun and I were unaware that one of the dresses was meant for someone else. I am embarrassed that the designer was not professional enough in handling events leading to this moment. It is also painful that a bride is made to go through what the bride has been made to go through.
“I have reached out to both the stylist and designer (whom I have never met nor HIRED directly) to express my displeasure.

Maryam has now been sued. See letter from the the aggrieved bride’s lawyer to her below…

Parents tortured, starved and held their 13 children captive

A couple are currently on $9 million bail each after a horrific discovery over the weekend

Southern California parents 56-year-old David Allen Turpin and 49-year-old, Louise Anna Turpin, have both been arrested and charged with suspicion of torture and child endangerment.
They are currently been held on $9 million bail each after a horrific discovery over the weekend at a residence in Perris, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said Monday.
[Image: Parents-tortured-starved-and-held-their-...=600&ssl=1]Share
An investigation began after a 17-year-old girl escaped from the home early Sunday morning and called 911 to report that her 12 brothers and sisters ages 2 to 29 were being held captive by their parents.
She alleged some of her siblings were bound in padlocked chains.
When responding officers initially saw her, they thought the “slightly emaciated” girl was only 10 years old until she provided proof that she was actually 17 years old.
[Image: Parents-tortured-starved-and-held-their-...C374&ssl=1]Share
After interviewing the teen, investigators went to the residence and contacted her parents, according to a release by the sheriff’s office.
Investigators discovered “several children shackled to their beds with chains and padlocks in dark and foul-smelling surroundings,” the release said. The parents could not provide a “logical” explanation for why the kids were restrained, investigators said.
Authorities located what they thought were 12 children but were “shocked” to find out seven of them were adults. In all, the victims are between the ages of 2 and 29, the release stated.
They looked to be malnourished and filthy, authorities said.
[Image: Parents-tortured-starved-and-held-their-...C386&ssl=1]Share
The victims were taken to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Perris Station for interviews; they were provided food and drink after telling investigators they were “starving,” according to the release.
The six children and seven adults were then transported to different hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Both parents were detained while child and adult protective services responded to assist in the investigation. After being interviewed, they were each booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on the release said.
David Turpin’s parents, James and Betty Turpin of West Virginia, told ABC News they are “surprised and shocked” by the allegations against their son and daughter-in-law.
James and Betty Turpin said they hadn’t seen their son and daughter-in-law since visiting them in California some four to five years ago. However, they said they have kept in touch with them by phone since. They told ABC News they had not spoken to their grandchildren, saying David Turpin or his wife would often call when they were without the children, who are homeschooled.

Liberia's President Expelled From Her Own Political Party
[Image: Ellen-Johnson-Sirleaf-Ends-State-of-Emer...-Ebola.jpg]
Shocked as Liberia's outgoing president expelled from her own political party, Unity Party, for allegedly failing to support its candidate to succeed her during the presidential election in December 2017.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who was expelled is accused of encouraging people to vote against her vice-president, Joseph Boakai. Former footballer George Weah won the presidential elections in December, defeating Mr Boakai.

A spokesman for the governing Unity Party said Ms Sirleaf had violated the party's constitution as she was seen campaigning with Mr Weah, who was running under another party, the Coalition for Democratic Change banner.

It will be the first smooth transfer of power since 1944 in Liberia, which was founded by freed US slaves in the 19th Century.

560 Stranded Nigerians Returns From Libya (Photos)

Another batch of 560 Nigerian returnees from Libya have arrived Port Harcourt, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Martins Ejike, the South-South Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, made this known to journalists on Sunday in Port Harcourt.

He said that the third batch returnees, comprising 540 adult and 20 infants, arrived the airport on board Max Air, with registration No: 5N-HMM at about 11:52 p.m.

However, he expressed dissatisfaction over poor response of some state governments in evacuating the Libyan returnees from the reception centre in the state.

The zonal coordinator said that the federal government gave the states 48 hours to enable them evacuate their returnees from the centre,

He expressed dismay that some states failed to abide by the directives, noting that South-West states are not responding to the evacuation process.

Mr. Ejike said that the choice of Port Harcourt airport as evacuation route was based on proximity to the most affected states.

“A graphic showed that Edo state alone recorded 309 out of 484 migrants. The record also showed that over 80 per cent of the returnees were indigenes of Edo and Delta states. “It is more convenient for the largely affected states to evacuate their returnees from Port Harcourt,” he said.

Muhammad Dahiru, the Public Relations Officer of Max Air, also said that the airline was competent to convey 1,680 returnees if passengers were cleared without delays.

Mr. Dahiru said that the airline deployed three air crafts with 560 capacity each for the operation, adding that speedy operation can be actualised if passengers’ documentation and clearance are not delayed.

One of the returnees, Paul Eke, who thanked the federal government on ensuring smooth return of migrants, said that the measure showed government’s commitment to its citizens.

Mr. Eke also urged the government to continue its rescue process to the hinterland in the Libyan states where some Nigerians were being imprisoned and unjustly tortured.

“I urge our federal government to do more by rescuing some Nigerians who are still trapped in some interior parts of Libya.

“I stayed in Zawe Superata, this place is like an exit point to Italy and so many Nigerians are still being imprisoned there,” Mr. Eke alleged.

Key Moments In Year One Of The Trump Presidency

Key Moments In Year One Of The Trump Presidency
[Image: TRUMP%2BD.jpg]
Here is a look at several key moments in the first year of Donald Trump's turbulent presidency:

- Travel ban: the legal saga -

Out of the blue, one week after taking office, Trump decreed a 90-day ban on arrivals of people from seven Muslim majority countries and a 120-day ban on all refugee arrivals.

Chaos broke out at US airports, with travelers detained upon arrival, and Americans nationwide staged protests against a measure seen as discriminating against Muslims -- though Trump said it aimed to keep out extremists.

Trump's move kicked off a legal saga that has dragged on through the first year of his presidency -- and is not yet over.

The initial ban was quickly blocked in court, as was a modified version removing Iraq from the countries targeted, and a third iteration adding citizens of North Korea and some Venezuelan officials.

Last month, the Supreme Court authorized enforcement of the ban's third version as the legal challenges against it make their way through the courts.

- Sacking James Comey -

In one of the most momentous moves of his young presidency, Trump abruptly fired FBI director James Comey on May 9, sacking the man leading a probe into whether his election campaign colluded with Russia in an effort to defeat Hillary Clinton.

Trump later acknowledged he had the Russia probe in mind when he sacked Comey.

In the end, Trump's move backfired. The sacking led to the appointment of a more powerful, independent counsel, Robert Mueller, to head the Russia investigation -- which Trump dismisses as "fake news."

The former FBI director may also be looking at whether Trump and his inner circle sought to obstruct justice.

Two Trump associates, including campaign manager Paul Manafort, have been indicted so far. Two more -- including former national security advisor Michael Flynn -- have admitted lying to investigators and have become government witnesses.

- 'Pittsburgh, not Paris' -

On June 1, 2017, Trump announced America was pulling out of the Paris climate deal, reversing its commitment to fight global warming in spite of appeals from environmental groups, foreign leaders, industry and even his own daughter Ivanka.

Trump painted the accord as a "bad deal" for the US economy, declaring he "was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris."

This month, he said the United States could "conceivably" return to the deal under more favorable terms, renewing questions about whether he is bluffing -- and simply wants easier emissions targets.

- Pushing N. Korea's buttons -

In his maiden speech to the UN General Assembly last September, Trump fired the opening salvo in what would be months of brinkmanship with North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un -- a.k.a. "Rocket Man" -- vowing to destroy the nuclear-armed country if it threatened America.

As 2017 came to a close, the North Korean nuclear threat had soared dramatically -- with Kim boasting that his missile arsenal can hit any city on the US mainland, and Trump faced criticism for stirring tensions.
The new year opened to signs of a potential cooling, as Pyongyang reached a landmark agreement to send athletes to the Winter Olympics in the South -- with the White House arguing Trump's tough rhetoric, coupled with intense diplomatic pressure, had helped bring the Koreas together.

But many analysts fear Trump's erratic outbursts -- he recently boasted he has a "much bigger" nuclear button than Kim -- dangerously raise the risk of a miscalculation that could lead to disaster.

- Merry Christmas, America -

On December 22, Trump signed into law the most sweeping rewrite of the US tax code in decades, sealing his biggest legislative victory to date -- after the stinging failure to repeal his predecessor's health care law, Obamacare.

Delivering on a core electoral pledge, Trump billed the $1.5 trillion of tax cuts as a "Christmas gift" for the American people.

Opposition Democrats branded it a giveaway to the wealthiest that risks blowing a hole in the national debt.

But Trump and his Republicans are confident the overhaul will play to the party's advantage in this year's crucial mid-term elections.

- Trump the peacemaker -

Trump came to office boasting he could achieve the "ultimate deal" for Middle East peace, something that has eluded US presidents for decades.

On December 6, he threw those efforts into jeopardy by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, a decision that overturned decades of US policy.

The status of Jerusalem is deeply contentious: Israel claims the whole of the disputed city as its capital, while Palestinians see east Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

Trump's move triggered a spasm of protests, with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas warning he would "no longer accept" any peace plan proposed by the United States.

- Bye bye, Bannon -

Since Trump took office, traditional Republicans had competed for the president's ear with the anti-Washington populists who carried him to power -- Steve Bannon chief among them.

In the opening days of 2018, the establishment regained the upper hand.

For months, the president let the firebrand Bannon, who was his top strategist, conduct open war against the Washington "swamp" of party leaders and lawmakers they saw as undermining Trump's revolution.

After Bannon exited the White House in August, he continued to push Trump's agenda from the helm of provocative right-wing website Breitbart News.

But when Bannon was quoted making unflattering remarks about the president in an explosive West Wing expose, Trump split with his ally, branding him "Sloppy Steve" and declaring he had "lost his mind."

Banished by the president and rejected by his financial backers, Bannon stepped down from Breitbart, further isolating a man once dubbed "the most dangerous political operative in America."

- 'A very stable genius' -

The book that precipitated Bannon's demise -- tantalizingly titled "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" -- threw the White House on the back foot with its bombshell portrayal of a disengaged, ill-informed and temperamentally unstable president.

Stung by its publication, Trump took to Twitter to describe himself as "a very stable genius" and "like, really smart."

That did little to quell a swirling debate about the president's fitness for office, with media outlets emboldened to muse about his tweetstorms, body language and tendency to repeat himself.

And while the White House assailed the media, it failed to put a lid on the free-for-all of speculation that has cast a pall over the start of his second year.

US Official Defends Early-Warning Systems After Hawaii 'Failure'
US top official on Sunday defended government early-warning systems after a false missile alert terrified Hawaii, in what a congresswoman called an epic failure that emphasized the need for talks with North Korea.

The Pacific archipelago was already on edge over fears of a North Korean attack when the phones of residents and tourists blared the alert just after 8:00 am (1800 GMT) on Saturday.

Emergency management officials later admitted "the wrong button was pushed" during a shift change. But it took them nearly 40 minutes to issue a corrected message. Hawaii's governor said there was no automatic way to cancel the false alarm, meaning it had to be done manually.

Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii issued her own advisory of the false alarm much earlier after directly checking with civil defense officials, she told ABC television's "This Week."

"It's an epic failure of leadership," said Gabbard.

"It was unacceptable that this went out in the first place, but the fact that it took so long for them to put out that second message, to calm people, to allay their fears that this was a mistake, a false alarm is something that has to be fixed, corrected with people held accountable."

The alert, which read "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL," sent people rushing for safety, whether in a bathtub, a basement, a manhole or cowering under mattresses.

"False alerts undermine public confidence in the alerting system and thus reduce their effectiveness during real emergencies," said Ajit Pai, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, which is responsible for Emergency Alert System procedures and is investigating what happened.

"It appears that the government of Hawaii did not have reasonable safeguards or process controls in place to prevent the transmission of a false alert," Pai said in a statement.

The erroneous message came after months of soaring tensions between Washington and Pyongyang, which claimed it had successfully tested ballistic missiles that could deliver atomic warheads to the United States, including the Hawaiian islands popular with tourists.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen urged people "not to draw the wrong conclusion" from the Hawaii incident.

"I would hate for anybody not to abide by alert warnings coming from government systems," she said on "Fox News Sunday."

"They can trust government systems, we test them every day. This was a very unfortunate mistake, but these alerts are vital; seconds and minutes can save lives."

7 Powerful Health Benefits Of Garlic
[Image: Garlic.jpg]
Garlic (scientific name Allium sativum) is a species in the onion genus, Allium.
Garlic is not as colorful or alluring as many fruit and vegetable superfood varieties, but it is actually one of the most powerful healing foods that you can include in your daily diet.
It is used as an antibiotic to treat bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections with the history of several thousand years of human consumption and use,
Every 100 grams of garlic will serve you with close to 150 calories, 33 grams of carbs, 6.36 grams of protein. Garlic is also enriched with Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, folate, Vitamin C, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, sodium and zinc.
Here are the top 7 healing properties of garlic that put many pharmaceutical drugs to shame;

 1. Garlic Naturally Reduces Your Blood Pressure
 2. It Effectively Combats Cancer
 3. It Can Detoxify Your Body
 4. Helps control diabetes
 5. Increases libido
 6.  Prevention of Heart Disease
 7. Helps to treat infected wound
Garlic Naturally Reduces Your Blood Pressure
Pharmaceutical blood pressure drugs come with a host of side effects, many of which are deadly. Garlic comes with a long list of additional and most likely unexpected benefits. Thanks to the unique way in which garlic is able to affect the smooth muscles of the arteries and therefore cause them to relax and dilate, garlic can directly lower your blood pressure naturally.
“American scientists first tried garlic against high blood pressure in 1921. Garlic consistently lowers blood pressure in laboratory animals.” – The Food Pharmacy: Dramatic New Evidence That Food Is Your Best Medicine by Jean Carper
It Effectively Combats Cancer
well-known benefit of garlic is its ability to fight off cancer both effectively and without any side effects. This is believed to be due to the fact that garlic enhances the production of what is known as hydrogen sulfide.
This increased production is thought by scientists to be effective in preventing the development of cancer particularly prostate, breast, and colon cancer.
It Can Detoxify Your Body
Garlic helps in the elimination of toxins from your body. Toxins are unwanted contaminants that covers everything from chemicals and heavy metals to parasites. Containing multiple sulfur-containing compounds, garlic is able to stimulate liver enzymes responsible for removing toxins from the body.
Helps control diabetes
Diabetes is a group of diseases that result in too much sugar in the blood (high blood glucose). It can harm the kidneys; inhibit nervous system functions, cause heart disorders, and even lead to poor eyesight. But, the oil extracted from garlic has properties that can shield diabetes patients from the side effects of this disease. It can also help in the treatment of intestinal issues like dysentery, diarrhea, and colitis.
Increases libido
Libido, colloquially known as sex drive, is a person's overall sexual drive or desire for sexual activity. Sex drive is influenced by biological, psychological and social factors.
So, garlics have been proven to have certain aphrodisiac properties. This means that as an herb, garlic can be used as an effectual sex rejuvenating and enhances the libido of both men and women.
Prevention of Heart Disease
Several studies have indicated an association between daily consumption of garlic and prevention of stomach and colorectal cancers. It is said to strengthen the immunity of the body against cancer.
Helps to treat infected wound
Did you known that Garlic can be placed on infected wounds. But rather than applying it in its raw form, it should be mixed with three drops of water as the undiluted juice can irritate the skin.

I Enjoyed Raping After My Girlfriend Left - Suspect
[Image: rapist.jpg]
A man identified as Abdullateef Ibrahim, who was arrested by the Niger State Police Command for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl, has pleaded for forgiveness, saying he started raping children after his girlfriend left him.
The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, said on Sunday that the suspect was arrested by operatives attached to Nasko police division, adding that he had been charged to court.
Muhammad explained that the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, noting that the victim had been taken to the General Hospital, Magama, for treatment.
According to reports, the victim was running an errand for her mother when Ibrahim dragged her to an isolated area in the bush and had sex with her. The suspect had been involved in the heinous act for over two years before he was eventually arrested by police operatives.
20-year-old Ibrahim told the newsmen that he had forcefully had carnal knowledge of more than six underage girls in the community.
He said, “Since my girlfriend left, I have been in the act and I enjoyed doing it, but at times I will ask myself ‘why am I into this mess and the urge still continues?’ It is quite unfortunate that I found myself in this hopeless predicament.”

Venue Williams Crashed Out At Australia Open
[Image: Venus-Williams-2-e1515998450890.jpg]
Serena Williams elder sister and the world number five, Venus Williams crashed out on day one of the Australian Open Monday.
Venus Williams who lost in the final to sister Serena last year, was stunned by Swiss star Belinda Bencic, fresh from winning the Hopman Cup with Roger Federer.
The seven-time Grand Slam winner, in her 77th major, struggled against a player who had never before beaten her to go down 6-3, 7-5 and deprive the tournament of one of its biggest names.
It is the first time since 1997 that there will be neither of the Williams sisters in the second round, with Serena not playing after giving birth to her first child.
I would like to have played someone easier,” said Bencic. When I was a little girl watching on TV I would never imagine I would play them (the Williams).”

Indigenous Rights Must Be Respected During Kenya Climate Change Project - UN Experts
[Image: SENGWER-COMMUNITY-1-600x333.jpg]
Three independent experts appointed by the United Nations have expressed concerns about recent reports that indigenous Sengwer peoples in western Kenya have been attacked and forcibly evicted from their homes.
The forceful evictions are meant to pave way for the implementation of the Water Towers Protection and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation project, an EU- funded water management project.
But locals say if the government wants to conserve the forest, indigenous communities should be involved since vacating their land will leave it vulnerable from destruction by outsiders.
"The Sengwer are facing repeated attacks and forced evictions by agents of the Kenya Forest Service, which is an implementing agency in the project financed by the European Union,” the experts said.
On 25 December 2017, more than 100 armed Forest Service guards entered the traditional lands of the Sengwer in the Embobut Forest, firing gunshots, burning at least 15 homes and killing their livestock.
On 9 January 2018, one of the Sengwer leaders was shot at by Kenya Forest Service guards. While he managed to escape unhurt, his house was burnt down and his property destroyed.
The experts have called on Kenya and the European Union to ensure that the human rights of the Sengwer peoples are respected. “We are concerned that the project is being undertaken without a human rights impact assessment,” the experts said.
Consultations have not been held with the Sengwer to seek their free, prior and informed consent. We call on the Kenyan authorities to urgently halt the evictions of the Sengwer community and undertake impartial investigations of these attacks.
Furthermore, we urge the European Union to suspend funding for the project until measures have been taken to uphold international standards on indigenous peoples’ rights.” In June 2016, the EU and the Kenyan government launched the Water Towers Protection and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (WaTER) project worth some Sh3.1 billion.
In May last year, the African Court on Human and Peoples Rights ruled that the government violated the rights of the indigenous Ogiek people living in Mau forest, draws inspiration from, saying it set a precedent on why evicting such people not only violates their human rights but leaves their forests vulnerable to destruction.
The Sengwer are one of the last remaining forest-dwelling people in the country.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY, 16TH JANUARY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ NEWNESS OF LIFE IN CHRIST✨

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4).

Our theme scripture is quite outstanding. It begins by letting us know that we’ve been baptized into “Jesus Christ,” and not just “Christ.” The latter means being put in the body of Christ, but the former makes it so strong so that you can better understand when the Bible says, _*“For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones”*_ (Ephesians 5:30). It doesn’t get any better than that.

You were baptized into Jesus Christ, meaning that you’re lost in Him, immersed in Him. You’ve become inseparably one with Him that you can’t be distinguished from Him: _*“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit”*_ (1 Corinthians 6:17).

Now, the second part that’s even more thrilling is the fact that we weren’t just baptised unto Him in His death, but were also raised up together with Him to a newness of life. The Bible says, _*“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”*_ (Romans 6:4). The Apostle Paul talks about the death of Christ, but there was also the resurrection, which is the victory and the glory.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ made Christianity possible. Christianity didn’t begin with His death, for His death didn’t give us life; however, His resurrection ushered us into a newness of life. His death paid for our sins, but didn’t give us a new life. That’s why salvation isn’t the result of the confession or affirmation of His death, but of His resurrection: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).

There’s a newness of life in Christ; there’s a new consciousness, with the understanding that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, you also should walk in newness of life. That means, reckon yourself to have come out of spiritual death. You have a new life now; the old nature is dead; your past doesn’t exist; you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus; a superior creation! Hallelujah!

PRAYER
I know who I am; I’m not of this world. I’m a new creation; I’ve come out of death, and I’m perfected in Christ Jesus. Christ is alive in me—spirit, soul, and body—in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: Romans 8:1-2 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

John 11:24-26 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? *||*

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A White Paper released by Ekiti State Government has barred a former governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, from holding a public office in the state for 10 years.

The state also barred his former Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Kolawole, for the same number of years.

The duo were barred based on the report of the Ekiti Judicial Commission of Inquiry, which indicted them over alleged mismanagement of the state’s finances between October 2010 and 2014.

Fayemi, now a Minister of Mines and Steel Development, was the governor during the stated period.

The report declared them “as unfit to hold any public office in the state.”

Cattle Colonies: Yoruba Youth Group Rejects FG's Plan
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-15-2018, 10:04 PM - No Replies

A Yoruba Youth socio-cultural group called Igbimo Odo Yoruba has rejected plans by the Federal Government to establish cattle colonies across the country for herdsmen.

Leader of the group, Comrade Olufemi Lawson, in a statement on Monday, emphasised that the position of the Yoruba youth was in reaction to a statement credited to the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Audu Ogbeh, that the cattle colonies were to curb increasing cases of clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the country.

Mr Lawson said the youths will vehemently resist any attempt by the Federal Government to introduce the cattle colonies in any part of the Southwest, and other Yoruba speaking parts of the country.

According him, every legitimate means within its reach would be used to fight the government, stressing that creation of the colonies was another attempt to re-colonise Nigerians, particularly the people of the Southern part of the country.

"It is absolutely sad that at this age and time in our history as a people, certain persons will resort to arbitrary use of state power to grab the ancestral lands of our people in order to reward a minute but violent group of herdsmen, who have continually assaulted, molest and violate the right to life of innocent Nigerians across the country without any concrete action to checkmate their excesses by the Federal Government,” Mr Lawson said in the statement made available to Business Post.

The group further said it was alarmed by the 'insensitive' position of the Federal Government, coming at the very moment when several states are counting their losses, particularly of human life, as a result of attacks on innocent farmers, women and young children allegedly by Fulani herdsmen.

“We cannot continue to overlook the humongous disasters that these herdsmen have continued to wreck on our communities, leading to loss of means of livelihood, assault on our women and loss of lives.

“Sadly, all these atrocities have not been enough to attract any concrete action from the federal government, neither have they resulted into the arrest or prosecution of the perpetrators of these crimes and their sponsors.

“What we have witnessed instead is the audacity of these elements to claim responsibility for their crimes and even make media appearances to justify their actions against armless people, who are being maimed endlessly by these gang of herdsmen,” the statement read.

“While we want to specially commend Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State for the radical approach of his government towards tackling the menace of these (alleged) Fulani herdsmen in Ekiti State, we wish to seriously warn other Governors of the Southwest that any attempt by them to conspire with the proponents of the 'Cattle Colonies' whose main agenda is to unjustly grab our lands out of our possession, shall be resisted by our generation and generations to come,” the statement stressed.

The group also advised the Federal Government that rather than proposing the establishment of cattle colonies, which is seen as a colonial anti-people land grabbing strategy, government should first take decisive actions by bringing to justice all perpetrators of violence hiding under farmers/herdsmen clashes without further delay.

It also urged the Federal government to stop looking too far in finding a lasting solution to issues of grazing in the country as practicable solutions have already been proffered through various recommendations of the past. Most recent, as contained in the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference.

Benue Leaders To Buhari - No Land For Cattle Colonies In Our State
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-15-2018, 10:02 PM - No Replies

Prominent leaders from Benue State have told President Muhammadu Buhari that there is no land to allow for the establishment of cattle colonies as being proposed by the Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh.

They made their position known to the president on Monday after they held a closed door meeting with him in the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Governor Samuel Ortom, who led the delegation and addressed the press after the meeting, said Mr. Ogbeh, “who is a son of the soil has explained that cattle colonies are a combination of several ranches” and is proposing that ten thousand hectares should be provided for that purpose.

“In Benue, we don’t have ten hectares for colonies, other states may have, but we don’t have in Benue State,” he said.

Among those in the delegation are former senate president, David Mark; former governor, George Akume and several others.

We Have Our Own Breed Of Cow, No One Will Establish Colonies On Our Land-ohanaez

The pan-Igbo socio-Political organisation, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has told the Federal Government to perish its idea of cattle colonies, insisting that Ndigbo will not be dragged into such plan.

The Federal Government of Nigeria had last week, concluded plans to establish, “cattle colonies,” across the country in its quest for a lasting solution to the incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen.

But Ohaneze has told the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration that Igbos have their own breed of cows that do not go about causing troubles, adding that creating colonies where animals are not bred, would cause more harm.

For this, the group wants the Nigerian government to forget the idea of cattle colonies in the South-East geopolitical zone.

Speaking with the Punch, the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Uche Achi-Okpaga, said, “We have our local breed of cows in the South-East. They are herded and not allowed to cause damage. If they do, as may be rarely seen, it is at the owners’ risk.

“Why would anybody establish cattle colonies on our land? Is it to begin to create opportunity for further skirmishes? Ndigbo do not buy the idea at all.”

Corruption Must Be Fought Like Jihad – Magu
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 01-15-2018, 04:55 PM - No Replies

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has said that corruption must be fought like a jihad.
The EFCC boss also said that the corrupt were claiming that they were being prosecuted because of their ethnic identity or the region they came from.
Magu said Nigerians must not leave the fight against corruption for President Muhammad Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo alone, adding that the menace would have killed Nigeria by now if not checked.
The EFCC Chairman said this on Sunday in a lecture he delivered at the 7th convocation and 10th anniversary of the Fountain University, Osogbo in Osun State.
Magu, whose lecture was delivered by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, said just 55 persons stole N1.3 tn between 2006 and 2013.
This amount, Magu said, could fund massive infrastructural development in many sectors and could train almost 4,000 children from primary school to university with a budget of N25m for each of them.
He said, “This was why I said we owe it to ourselves, it is a jihad for all of us to wage the war against corruption. It is unpatriotic and a shirking of our responsibilities as citizens to fold our arms and leave the fight against corruption to President (Muhammadu ) Buhari, Vice – President (Yemi ) Osinbajo, the EFCC and a handful of others. We are all stakeholders in the fight against economic and financial crimes ; together we can defeat this evil.
“Indeed , corruption could have killed Nigeria if the rate at which corruption was festering then had not been checked. Take for instance, the money stolen by just 55 people between 2006 and 2013 is well over N1 .3 tn . One third of this money, using the World Bank rates and cost could have comfortably been used to construct 635.15 km of roads; built 183 schools ; educate 3 ,974 children from primary to tertiary education levels at N25 .24m per child; built 20, 062 units of 2 -bedroomed houses across the country and do even more.
“The cost of this grand theft therefore is that, these roads, schools and houses will never be built and these children will never have access to quality education because a few rapacious individuals had cornered for themselves what would have helped secure the lives of future generations, depriving them of quality education and healthcare, among others.
“But the corrupt, using sponsored people, claim that they are being prosecuted because of the region they came from , the religion they profess, or their ethnic identity. They do their utmost not to answer the all- important question of whether or not they are guilty of the corruption allegations against them.”
Magu stated that the EFCC had recovered N738bn in about two years due to the support of the President.

Linda Ikeji shuts down engagement rumour with this photo

Linda Ikeji shuts down engagement rumour with this photo
[Image: LINDA%2BIKEJI.jpg]
Popular Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji has shut down reports flying around that she has finally found the love of her life, and is ready to walk down the aisle. Rumour had it that the 37 year-old was keeping her engagement news under wraps but her would-be husband was too excited to keep it a secret. That
preparations for the wedding are already on the way.
The blogger has now taken to her Instagram page to dismiss the reports while admitting it would happen.
[Image: Linda-Ikeji-shuts-down-engagement-rumour...=329%2C410]Share
She shared the above photo of her hand and wrote;
Ring finger still bare. [Image: 1f60a.svg]. The pressure to marry…Lol. It will happen..it just hasn’t. [Image: 1f601.svg]
Recall that Linda had admitted that she’s under “intense pressure” to find a husband.
Linda Ikeji, whose marital status has been a recurring subject of public discourse, said she is fed up of being constantly prodded by “family and friends” to get married.
She spoke on the subject, ‘Pressure To Marry Before 30’ in a 2016 feature on Genevieve Magazine.
Marriage is not an achievement. There is so much more to life than being someone’s wife,” Ikeji said defiantly while also underscoring the importance of settling down. "Get married please, but don’t be pressured into it, she said”
Seemingly unnerved by her own personal experience, Ikeji further said:
I don’t know how many of you single girls are under pressure to get married but I am. Pressure from family, friends and people who just can’t mind their business.
"The pressure is so intense right now I feel like going to husband market – if there is any such thing – to buy myself some breathing space. Give me a break, you people.”

The blogger last year had also discussed the things she requires in a man she would love to marry.
[Image: Linda-Ikeji-shuts-down-engagement-rumour...=409%2C410]Share

According to Linda, any man who would finally claim her heart and eventually take her to the altar must be dexterous and highly skillful at the things of the inner room.
When asked if she has been getting proposals from suitors as well as what she requires in a man she would love to marry, she dropped some interesting points.

I’m getting quite a lot of proposals. You know people say when a woman is successful, men run away, it’s a lie, that is when they chase you the more. But unfortunately, I haven’t seen what I’m looking for. To be honest, I keep telling people, it’s not like men are scarce, it’s the type of man some of us are looking for that is scarce, if I want to marry next year I can, but he would not be the kind of man I want.
I want a man that I can look up to, someone that inspires me, someone that would push me, someone that would motivate me, somebody that has had some success in his own career path, then I can look up to him and be like “wow”, a man that teaches me and I can learn from. I’m inspired by successful people, someone like Tyler Perry, I can’t wait to meet him. I can’t marry a poor guy, I’m being honest about it, no I can’t, he doesn’t have to be very rich but let him be successful in his own way.
You may come across some successful men but there is something wrong there, so the whole package is what I’m looking for. When I was like 30-years old, my standards were very high, extremely high, but I wasn’t looking at marrying, I was just focused on work because I’ve always been so ambitious that I wasn’t focusing on marriage or kids. I felt like I should just do what I wanted to do. It was just recently that I began to think about marriage, and to be honest, my requirements are only three now. He must be successful, he must be a good man, in the sense that he must be supportive of me, if he tries to stifle me then I’m out. Lastly, he has to be a man that likes sex and must be very good at it”, she stated.

Here's Why Meghan Markle Can't Wear a Tiara, But Kate Middleton Can
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Gimbiya - 01-15-2018, 11:57 AM - No Replies

With the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now just months away, it stands to reason we might catch a glimpse of the American actress sporting a tiara during a formal event or two in the coming weeks. After all, she's basically in with the royal family now, andKate Middleton has been seen wearing one on no fewer than six separate occasions. But as it turns out, our hopes of seeing photos surface of Markle at Kensington Palace in a crown will have to wait—and there's a very specific reason why.
According to The Mirror, it's strict British etiquette that dictates why Kate Middleton can wear a tiara, and Markle can't. And it boils down to one thing: marriage.
Tradition in the United Kingdom prohibits unmarried women from wearing tiaras—and in fact, the accessory is much more than just a gorgeous proclamation of royal affiliation. As explained by etiquette expert Grant Harold in an interview with BBC, the tiara has even more historical significance than simply proving royal affiliation: Through its doubling as a signifier of betrothal, it shows—in British culture—that one is off the market and not looking for a husband.
That's why, following her marriage to Prince William, Kate (now the Duchess of Cambridge) became immediately eligible to wear one. And after her royal nuptials in May of this year, Markle will be allowed to do the same.
So when exactly will we see the American actress in the bejeweled headpiece? Well, if history repeats itself, we could very well see Markle wearing one on her wedding day—Kate Middleton did for her wedding to Prince William, after all. But generally speaking, per royal etiquette, tiaras are an evening-only accessory, so it's also a possibility that the bride-to-be will until after her spring wedding to make her first appearance in a royal tiara.
Then again, the actress has been known to break a royal rule or two. So—as always with all things Meghan and Harry—let the guessing games begin!

The main equity index in Africa’s biggest economy has surged 12 per cent this year in
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment

The main equity index in Africa’s biggest economy has surged 12 per cent this year in dollar terms, the most among 96 major bourses tracked by Bloomberg, pushing it to the highest level since 2008. Dangote Cement Plc, controlled by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and the largest company on the bourse, has climbed to a record high.

The advance will probably be sustained thanks to rising prices for oil, Nigeria’s main export, and as investors look to increase their holdings of what remain among the cheapest stocks in Africa, according to the asset management arm of South African lender FirstRand Ltd.

“For investors wanting more exposure to consumers in Africa and Nigeria, in particular, the outlook is good,” said Paul Clark, a money manager in Johannesburg at Ashburton Investments, which owns Nigerian stocks including Seplat Petroleum Development Co. “The banking sector is probably the most attractive at the moment, especially the tier-2 lenders.”

Nigerian stocks are leading the world so far this year. Foreign investors have been crucial in driving the market higher. The New York-based Global X MSCI Nigeria ETF attracted record weekly net inflows through Thursday. That helped to increase the exchange-traded fund’s market capitalization to almost $90 million, double the level in May last year.

Even after the gains, Nigerian valuations are the cheapest among the major African equity indexes. Nigerian stocks trade at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 10.2, while South Africa’s are at 14 and the MSCI Emerging Market Index is at 13.

That suggests there’s further upside, according to Cape Town-based fund Allan Gray. While foreign investors turned negative on Nigeria after following the 2014 oil crash and subsequent recession, the economy picked up last year and growth is forecast by the International Monetary Fund to accelerate to 2.1 percent in 2019.

Still, there are some warning signs. The 120-day correlation between Nigerian stocks and Brent crude is now around the highest in two years. If oil prices reverse their 45 percent climb since June, Nigerian assets could take a hit.

That’s one reason HSBC Holdings Plc has a negative outlook on the stocks. The U.K. bank also says Nigeria will have to free its currency further if it wants to attract more investment. While the central bank eased some capital controls last year and opened a trading window for foreign portfolio traders, it continues to operate several exchange rates.

“Nigeria’s multiple exchange rate system is likely to remain a key drag, keeping long-term investors on the side lines,” HSBC analysts David Faulkner, John Lomax and Kishore Muktinutalapati said in a note on Jan. 11.

Re: With 12% Rise In Fourteen Days Nigerian Stocks Are World’s Best - Bloomberg

Turkish Airways Crash Lands, Skids Off Runway, Almost Plunged Into Black Sea(PHOTO

A Turkish Passenger plane (Pegaus Airlines Flight) packed with 162 passengers and crew members came within yards of plunging into the Black Sea when it skidded off an icy runway while trying to land, The Sun UK reports.

Luckily, the jet's 162 passengers escaped death nor injury when the wheels of their Pegasus Airlines flight dug into the freezing mud at Trabzon Airport, leaving it dangling precariously off a coastal cliff.

Turkish officials said the cause of the accident was not yet known, and closed the airport overnight to conduct an investigation.

Photos appear to show smoke billowing from the cabin but Trabzon Governer Yucel Yavuz said all 162 passengers and crew on board were evacuated safely.

The plane which left Turkish capital Ankara on Saturday night stuck firmly in the mud as a solitary lighthouse illuminates the chilly water.

It is however safe to say that icy mud played the hero and more than 162 deaths were averted.

See how Nigerians reacted over the Benue woman who got impregnated by her son-in-law
[Image: couple.jpg]
Last week, news went viral on a woman who visited her daughter and son in-law and in the process of helping out with farm produce harvest, allowed herself to be impregnated by her daughter's husband. Nigerians have however reacted to the incident and come out to say what they feel about the whole act, what should be done with the unborn child and so on...
The wife of the man and daughter of the woman was however exulted for her strength and the will to forgive the adulterous duo. She has decided not to leave the troubled marriage.
Sunday Sun reached out to some Nigerians and they have all given their thoughts and opinions on the incident that seems to have sparked a sort of National
outrage.
CHIMA CHUKWUNYERE, chairman, Imo State Police Community Relations Committee.
First of all, it is on record that the woman (mother-in-law) and the son-in-law committed abomination. Whether it was the woman that seduced the son-in-law or the son-in-law that initiated it, the fact still remains that it was an abominable act, a gross iniquity.
Now that their iniquitous and repeated sexual intercourse has resulted in a pregnancy, it is the responsibility of the three people involved, the man, the wife and the mother-in-law to sit down and decide what will be done with the child when he/she is born. I understand that the wife is still willing to continue with the marriage.
So the big question they should answer is this: will the child be put in a foster home, given up for adoption or the woman (mother-in-law) will raise the child with or without the support of the couple. The woman that is pregnant has a major role to play in the decision: what does she want to do with the baby to be born? Abortion is completely out of the question – it absolutely must not be mentioned or even whispered at all.
Abortion is pure murder and nobody should suggest it at all. The pregnant woman must decide for herself how she will raise the child, if the man and the wife are kind enough to support her in doing this. If they say they will not support her, then the woman should go and bear the pains of raising the child. That is part of the financial, physical and psychological pains and sufferings she has to go through for sleeping with the son-in-law.
As far as I am concerned, you can call the woman a Jezebel. It is evident that the man is not a believer. The only thing one can say about the man is that he has a beastly nature. He is simply a beast. Any man without Christ has a beastly nature and it can manifest anytime. Such a person has no conscience. There are lots of men who do not know God, but their decency would not permit them to seek the nakedness of their mother-in-law not talk of going to bed with her as this man did. It was purely abominable.
The man’s wife should be given a price, an award, for saying that she wants to continue with the marriage. Based on the scriptural injunction in the bible, the woman has a right to divorce the husband – that would not be sin. Instead, what we find is a woman with a forgiving spirit, a woman with a large heart, despite all the insult of her own mother sleeping with the husband, and she is still willing to forgive and continue with the marriage. She needs an award. If the man realizes that he did an abominable thing and truly repents, and apologises to his wife, I believe that God will also forgive him. God will be glorified in the whole incident.

Pastor Ikechukwu Kanu, Deputy General Overseer, Evangel Pentecostal Church, Okota, Lagos.
First, nothing must be done to tamper with the pregnancy, absolutely nothing. She should give birth to the baby. We pray that God will keep her strong and healthy to bring forth the baby. If she is sober and sorry for what has happened, she should be forgiven and encouraged and given maximum support to make sure that she delivers that baby. This will ensure that she will not do anything to harm the child in the womb.
Her daughter has taken a bold step to say that she would not allow what happened to make her dump her marriage. It was a good decision. However, she should still be faulted for taking her husband and the mother for granted. I want to believe that she ought to have known the character of her mother and her husband. So somehow there was a gap that allowed the abominable thing to happen.
I would not know whether they are believers or unbelievers, but in any culture, it is a taboo for sexual relations to happen between a mother-in-law and her son-in-law or between a man and his daughter-in-law. The man in this case is actually a he-goat that should be rebuked and sanctioned. The claim that the mother-in-law was half dressed and always sat seductively is not tenable. By the way, why should he eat together with his mother-in-law in the absence of his wife? Something is wrong about the morality of that man.

What has happened has become a kind of stigma and they have to manage it properly. My advice for the wife is that she should be willing to adopt the baby when born, nurse the baby and raise the baby as her husband’s child without the involvement of the mother. The reason is that if the mother is involved and the husband continues to visit her because of the baby, there is the tendency that illicit sexual liaison would continue and then set the stage for the marriage to breakdown.
ROMANUS NDEHIGWO IDIROKO, businessman and regular commentator on national issues
It is a double mistake. Killing the child through abortion will be another gross sin. They do not have the power to take the life that God has created. There is no way, the child can be aborted. The woman must keep the pregnancy and give birth to the baby. The child must bear the name of the woman’s late husband because the son-in-law cannot claim the child as his own unless he goes to return the dowry paid by the dead husband to his family and then pays fresh dowry on the woman.
By African culture, even if the woman gives birth to one million children after the husband’s death, the children belong to him as long as the woman did not formally remarry and dowry paid. The fact that they are from Nasarawa State does not change the African cultural practice. What I said is the way it is done in Igbo land. I don’t believe the culture would be much different in Nasarawa State.
The daughter of the woman who said that she wants to continue with the marriage is an excellent person, and intelligent human being. She is to be commended for her positive disposition, which I must say is rare. It is a wonderful demonstration of wisdom on her part. She took the wisest decision in the whole matter. I love the way she said that nothing would separate her from her husband not even the act of her foolish mother. The devil wanted to destroy her marriage through the sinful act between the husband and the mother, but she resolved that the devil would not succeed by deciding to stick to the husband and strengthen her marriage. My prayer is that God will sustain her with grace to do as she has said.
The mother-in-law showed clearly that she is a morally depraved and weak human being. There is no spirit of God in her. She behaved like a dog. She should live with the shame for the rest of her life. The same thing applies to the man, he must be he-goat. In fact, he should be castrated. He must be an animal by claiming that of all the women on earth, only his mother-in-law seduced him. The spirit of the dog took control of him, and pushed him to do what he did. There are so many women out there, why sleep with his mother-in-law? Both of them are controlled by the spirit of lust. This is another manifestation of the end-time agenda of the devil, to destroy millions of people through the spirit of lust. The devil has a mission and target, but many will not look at what happened in this manner.

Honestly I think it would be a very bad idea for the mother in-law to keep the pregnancy. She should not play up religious beliefs for not aborting the pregnancy unless she is willing to break the matrimonial home of her own daughter. It is an abomination.
She should not have the baby, because it is not normal. How can you carry and have a child for your son-in-law? Are we really sure she is the real mother of the lady? If she is the biological mother then keeping the pregnancy is a shame to the family. And it is a story that would always follow the lineage of their family.
Although they may want to turn it to family secret but if the baby is kept, the daughter could always be hurt anytime she sees the child. And she’ll never be happy with her mother and her husband throughout her life. So to do some damage control and save the family from everlasting shame, the baby should be aborted.
Evangelist Onyekachi Nwankwo, Teaching minister, AMEN Charismatic Ministry
I suggest that since conception has taken place, the baby should not be aborted. I won’t recommend abortion at all. The mother-in-law should go ahead and have the baby and then reach an understanding with the daughter and son-in-law, for them to adopt and take care of the child. That would be the best thing to do.
Then there should be a high level move by either the community or religious leaders to intervene and reconcile the family. It is very important that forgiveness, peace and love are brought back to the family for them to move forward with their lives. Then they must make the abominable incident a family secret and stop telling people about it.
Both the man and mother-in-law are lustful and they need the spirit of God in their lives. The man is irresponsible and lacks self control so he should go for intensive counseling, because tomorrow, he might still go and sleep with another woman in future. His excuse of blaming the mother-in-law is not tenable at all. He should have said ‘No’ to the antics of the mother-in-law if what he’s saying is true. He was the one that loosened his belt and had sex with his own mother in-law. Hence he has no shame and self-control.

I stopped a church bombing on Christmas Eve’ — Mama Boko

A church bombing which was planned to have occurred on Christmas eve, was reportedly averted by Hajiya Aisha Wakil aka Mama Boko Haram. In the interview with Punch, Mama Boko Haram revealed how she stopped Boko Haram insurgents from bombing a Church.
They planned to bomb St. Augustine’s Church on December 24, 2017. One of them called me on that day to find out whether I had travelled. There was a pickup van loaded with explosives in front of the church.
I told the caller that I had not travelled and I immediately rushed out and saw the
boy that was to carry out the suicide mission. They had already prepared him for the exercise. He had already been given the injection and prepared him for burial. The boy was just moving and murmuring. .
I quickly called the (Boko Haram) boys and told them that I can see a vehicle parked and that a boy was moving towards it. They told me that the boy was the suicide bomber. They asked why I did not travel again and I told them that my brother, a reverend father, visited Maiduguri.

I instantly told him that I was right inside the church (targeted for bombing) with my brother because I brought food for him. I told them that I was not ready to leave the church, daring them to do their worse.
They were then confused and asked what I wanted to become of the boy they had prepared for the suicide mission, and I asked them to send the boy away to the nearby bush; after all, he had taken the oath to die, so he should go and die alone. .
They asked me to leave the church premises but I told them that I wouldn’t go until they had diverted the boy away. After some time, they told me the boy had left and one of them said, ‘I can see your car driving out’ but I didn’t go with my car. This is to show how God works. .
I do not know where a black car came out from that made them believe I was around the place. So they drove the pickup van away. I later learnt that the boy had died because he had taken an oath and they had given him an injection preparing him for death. .
If you take the injection, you can never be yourself again. I then warned them not to target places of worship for bombing again” she said.

Ese Walter Ark reveals how PPD pushed her to abandon new born baby and flee to another city for months, with thoughts of smashing baby
[Image: ese%2Bwalter%2Bark.jpeg]
In an open post which she shared on Facebook, blogger, Author, Ese Walter-Ark, revealed her battle with postpartum depression. Ese narrated how she abandoned her 9 months 3 weeks old baby with her mother in Abuja and ran down to Lagos, in November 2015, when she became depressed after childbirth. She says the depression was so heavy that a certain day, she thought of smashing her baby on the wall. Read below...
They called me a bad mother [Image: 1f642.png]?
After Boobman was born I struggled to find my Happy. At the same time, I had to act happy because who isn’t happy after birthing a child?
I carried on everyday reminding myself that as a mother my happiness came second. I needed to be there for my child. I needed to love him, care for him, take care of him etc.
As he grew, I felt myself sink deeper into the hole that sat in my core. And I couldn’t express this. I remember the day the health visitor came to check on us. She asked, “have you had any unpleasant thoughts concerning your baby?”
“No, I have been so happy since he arrived.” I lied.
She asked a few more questions, checked his height, head size, weight, and was done.
As she left, I wondered if I should call her back and tell her about that night he wouldn’t sleep and I needed sleep, and as I breastfed him, I imagined what would happen if I threw him against the wall. Perhaps I’d be free from this little bondage that seemed to be running my life. But I didn’t. I feared they would think me crazy. Some who knew me already thought me crazy. Sigh. I let her go. I returned to getting by one day at a time.
The day he turned 6 months, I decided I was going to run away. Because he was breastfeeding and I didn’t have any money I stuck around. At 9 months and three weeks, I had saved a little money so I weaned him one Friday, cold turkey style. Nobody knew I was weaning him. By the next day, he had forgotten chest. I was left with swollen painful br**sts but I felt it was worth it because finally nothing was tying him to me.
On the 1st of November 2015, a week before he turned 10 months, I took him to my mum’s along with a new nanny I had gotten a week earlier. I told my mum I had a spa date and would be back for him in 2 hours. As I left the house, I headed to the airport, bought a one way ticket to Lagos and left Abuja, Boobman, and motherhood behind. I sent text messages to my family that I was gone and not coming back.
They tried to reach me by email. I was told that I abandoned my child and I was a bad mother. It was true. They were right. I had already concluded to myself that I was a bad mother long before anyone else told me so. I wasn’t going to mother, I wanted to feel alive. I wanted to feel I mattered too. I wanted to feel, period.
I didn’t want to hurt my baby. I wasn’t sure how long I would have lasted before I snapped. Leaving was the only option. I wasn’t going to come back.
A few months later we were reunited. I was told to apologize to him for leaving him. What they didn’t know was for the months I planned my leaving, he was aware. I told him every time I breastfed him that I was sorry I had to go away without him. I told him the times I was sad. I told him the times I felt lost and empty. And the night before that November 1st, I shed a tear as I told him I was leaving the next day.
I still remember my final thought before I left. I said to myself, “if I die now, this child will survive and even thrive.” At that, my mind made itself up.
I know we like to think a mother should sacrifice herself for her babies but sometimes mother wants to run away and leave everything behind. This usually starts and ends as a thought or wishful thinking for most new mothers. For me, it was the only
way to live. So I took the leap. [Image: 5a5a78305326b.png?w=1050&ssl=1]
