Common People In Ekiti Streets Waiting To Stone You – Fayose’s Aide Dares Fayemi
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-30-2017, 09:23 AM - No Replies

Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and
New Media, Lere Olayinka has challenged the Minister for Steel and
Minerals Resources Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to walk the streets
of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, without security men and see
whether he won’t be stoned by angry people of Ekiti State whose money
he “looted” during his tenure as governor.

Olayinka said; “As governor, Fayemi failed Ekiti people and as a
minister, he is also failing Ekiti people because up till today, he
cannot point to one benefit Ekiti has derived from having him as
minister of Mines and Steel Development despite the numerous solid
minerals in the State.”

While reacting to comment by Fayemi that the public should wait and
see who will go to jail between him and Fayose, and that he had have
been out of office and still moving free, but Fayose won’t be able to
walk free on the streets after losing immunity, Olayinka challenged
Fayemi to subject himself to the court of public opinion in Ekiti
State by walking from Fajuyi Park to the All Progressives Congress
(APC) office in Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti without being guarded by armed
security men.

“Fact is, even a councilor in Ado Local Government is more popular
than Fayemi and he can let us proof this by walking the streets in the
State capital without his retinue of security aides,” Olayinka said.

The governor’s spokesperson, who described Fayemi as one of the
beneficiaries of President Muhammadu Buhari’s policy of protecting
armed robbers in his government and running after petty thieves for
political gains, added that; “a man who illegally used Fountain
Holdings, a company with N15 million share capital to obtain N5
billion loan for sham road construction projects, took N25 billion
bond and diverted chunk of the money into private pockets and plunged
Ekiti State into debt should be cooling his heads in prison by now if
truly President Buhari is fighting corruption.”

He reminded the former governor that he must refund a sum of N2.75
billion allocated from the N25 billion bond obtained by the government
for the execution of contract for the construction of Ultra-Modern
market in Ado Ekiti, which was never executed.

Olayinka said further, “A man who as governor, awarded contract of
over N600 million to a company with no traceable address and carted
away 17 Joylong Buses that Coscharis Motors supplied to the Ekiti
State Government as gift can only be a minister under a government of
treasury looters like that of President Buhari.

Olayinka reminded Fayemi that he never won any election in Ekiti,
sating “even the primary election that gave him the Action Congress
(AC) governorship ticket in 2006 was manipulated and those who did the
manipulation are still alive. He was roundly defeated by the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in 2007 and in the rerun election of 2009 until
the governorship was handed to him through the most scandalous
judicial manipulation in the history of Nigeria.”

He said apart from regular monthly allocation of over N160 billion,
Fayemi also received N46.4 billion from the Excess Crude Account, yet
he took N25 billion bond and N31 billion commercial bank loan. One of
such frivolous loans was the N5 billion obtained from a commercial
bank without the Debt Management Office (DMO) approval, using Fountain
Holdings Limited, a company with N15 million share capital.

“How a limited liability company with N15 million share capital could
be used to borrow N5 billion and when it became the duty of Fountain
Holdings Limited to construct roads are two questions Fayemi has
to answer.”

Olayinka, who encouraged Fayemi to come out openly to declare his
intention to contest the 2018 governorship, said; “When he mounts the
campaign podium, we want to know what he will be telling Ekiti people
that he has done for the State as minister for Steel and Minerals
Resources Development.”

Wike Reveals What He Discussed With Buhari During Their Closed-Door Meeting On Friday
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Friday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Addressing State House reporters afterwards, Wike disclosed that the security situation in the state was on the agenda.

The Governor described his relationship with Buhari as cordial and said he was happy with the discussion.

He said: “I’m happy with the discussion and I believe that something has to be done about (security) it. Nothing political just security issue that affects the state and things that may lead to the breakdown of law and order. We talked on security challenges and he received me very well.

“We don’t have any bad relationship, I come here when he asks me to come.”

Wike also stated he was in support of any effort embarked upon by the Federal Government, to address insurgency and environmental challenges in the Niger Delta region.

On Boko Haram fight, he said “even though for me it’s illegal, however, we are told we are fighting insurgency and no right thinking person in the country will say that he would not support the government in fighting against insurgency.”

“But on the other hand too, I believe that when you are talking about environmental issues in the Niger Delta particularly the Ogoniland I believe that we can also take money from there (Excess Crude Account) to solve the problem of Ogoniland and other Niger Delta areas. That is my position,” Wike said.

Reno Omokri reacts to Buhari’s 17 achievements in 2017
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-30-2017, 09:17 AM - No Replies

Reno Omokri, erstwhile aide on New Media to former President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the 17 achievements of the federal government listed by the Presidency on Friday.

DAILY POST had reported that the federal government listed among other things Nigeria’s exit from worst recession, naira stabilising against dollar, bumper harvest, especially in rice, payment of pension, among others.

But according to Omokri, the achievements were an embarrassment for the Buhari administration.

In a post published on his Facebook page, Omokri said: “The Buhari government released a list of 17 of its greatest achievements a few hours ago and after reading it, I was embarrassed for the regime.

“The Buhari administration counts exiting a recession that it put Nigeria into as its greatest achievement of 2017! This government is the definition of cluelessness! We exited recession by growing at 0.5% meanwhile our population grew by 2.6%. Do the math and pray that 2019 is the end of this nightmare!

“And going further they go on to list stabilizing the Naira as one of their achievements! A Naira they met at ₦199 to $1 and which is presently ₦365 to $1 has not been ‘stabilized’, it has been murdered. The Naira is in such bad shape that $1 can give you a Naira for every day of the year.

“And how can this propagandist regime list bumper harvest as achievements when the latest Global Hunger Index published by the US based International Food Policy Research Institute, indicates that hunger has increased in Nigeria?

“And stating that ‘the Nigeria Customs Service recorded its highest-ever revenue collection, crossing the One Trillion Naira (N1,000,000,000) mark’ is nothing short of fraud.

“What the Buhari administration and the Nigerian Customs Service failed to tell Nigerians is that this amount is less than half what the Nigerian Customs Service generated in 2014 when you factor in the devaluation of the Naira.

“In 2014, the Nigerian Customs Service generated ₦978 billion.

“When you factor in the official exchange rate in 2014 of 150 Naira to a dollar, that ₦978 billion was equivalent to $6.5 billion.

“However, when you convert the ₦1 trillion the Nigerian Customs Service generated in 2017 using the official interbank exchange rate of 365 Naira to one dollar, that ₦1 trillion is equivalent to $2.7 billion!

“In other words, the Nigerian Customs Service generated less than half of what it generated in 2014 and this fact cannot be hidden with their infantile propaganda.

“You go through these 17 so called achievements and you soon realize that there is nothing tangible, like a road built or a refinery started. All their farcical ‘achievements’ are non tangibles.

“Finally, let me add that Nigeria is broke. The Buhari administration has borrowed more than any government before it. Our total debt stands today at slightly over $64 billion.

“Foreign and domestic lenders are now wary of lending to the Nigeria government. The landing cost for petrol is ₦171.40 per litre. Buhari has been secretly paying a subsidy of ₦26.40 per liter because he was ashamed of being exposed as a hypocrite for telling Nigerians that subsidy does not exist and Jonathan was deceiving the nation. Now he can no longer afford the deception. Don’t be a fool. Prepare for fuel price increase. IT WILL HAPPEN!

“That is one achievement I can credit the Buhari administration with.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 30TH DECEMBER.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ TRUST HIM TO TAKE CARE OF YOU✨

…If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him (John 14:23).

What Jesus said in our opening verse above is so profound! Imagine Jesus literally living in your house: the miracle-worker sharing the same roof with you! That’ll be the end of all struggles. You wouldn’t bother about how to pay your bills, because you know that, with Jesus, they’ll all be taken care of. I dare say you wouldn’t have a care in the world.

But do you know that’s the mentality the Lord wants you to have? In reality, He lives in you and with you; He’s right in your home with you. That means you should never worry or fret over how to pay your bills. You shouldn’t talk or act as though God is missing or too far away, and you’re clueless as to where He is. Wherever you are is His headquarters. This is why He says to us, “…take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seekSmile for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things” (Matthew 6:31-32).

Trust Him for the money you require for your education. Trust Him for your kids’ school fees. Trust Him for the funds to pay off your mortgage or buy a new property. Trust Him to take good and absolute care of you and make your life glorious.

Even if you were in debt, He’s your Lord, and He’s BIG! You don’t need to cry to any human person for help. Act on His Word: cast all your cares on Him and “go to sleep”; take a chill, knowing that He’s got you covered. He said in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Hallelujah!

There’s just ONE thing He requires of you: “...seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). Make soul winning your number one priority and watch Him take care of everything that concerns you.

CONFESSION
The Lord is my shepherd; therefore, I lack nothing; all my needs are abundantly supplied, and my finances are multiplied by the power of the Holy Spirit. I have more than enough to take care of others and be a blessing to my world. I have no sense of lack or limitation, for Christ is my sufficiency. Blessed be God!

FURTHER STUDY:
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:31-32 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seekSmile for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Zimbabwean Man Caught Having Sex At His Wife’s Funeral With A Prostitute(Photos)
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 12-29-2017, 10:10 AM - No Replies

Quote:A GWERU man left Chiredzi people shocked when he was caught having sex with another woman during his wife’s funeral service.

Circumstances are that the accused Luscious Chiturumani stayed in Gweru with his wife Sibongile Mthetwa who allegedly died after a short illness.

Since Chiturumani had not fully paid the bride price, it was then decided that the deceased be buried in Chiredzi, her parents’ rural community.

On arrival the deceased’s husband was accompanied by a woman whom he claimed to be his sister and he was accorded full respect as a son-in-law of the family.

The two were then given a courtesy room for them to rest as a family and they then retired to bed earlier than other people as visitors. More people were expected to join them in the room but none did and they took advantage of the situation and woke up to some early morning sex.

Claims are that just before 6am someone smoking outside leaning on the window heard some funny sounds emanating from the room which the two were resting in.

The unidentified man then decided to call others to see what was happening inside.

Unfortunately the doors had no locks and the two were found busy having sex.

A close relative of the deceased identified as Grace Mtethwa confirmed the incident saying that Chiturumani had brought disgrace to their family as the case will remain the talk of town.

“It is very much disgusting what my uncle has done. Humbwa chaiwo.

“He has proven to be a dog and lacking any sense of morality. How can someone come all the way from Gweru to have sex here aaah? I had never seen anything like such in my entire life.

“Apa haana kumbopedza kubhadhara roora racho but he found the courage to bring a prostitute saying it was his sister.
Mthetwa added;
“We gave them a room to sleep in at around 9pm.

“You know at a funeral very few people retire to bed and if they do so it will be around 1am vatoneta nekuimba so I guess that is the advantage which the so called brother and sister took because no one joined them in their room.

“At around 5am a certain man came to a place where my aunts and I were sitting saying we should visit the room where he heard some sounds assuming there was a problem.

Mob justice is said to have followed for disrespecting the dead, the in-laws and again for deceiving people that the lady was his sister and agreeing to share a room with her.

The two were force-marched out of the room and Chiturumani was being slapped and kicked as he made the short walk to a car that was waiting for him in the yard.

Chiturumani’s phone has been off up to the time of going to print.

Yusuf Buhari: President’s wife, Aisha placed on bed restPublished on December 28, 2017 By Wale Odunsi
Aisha, mother of ailing Yusuf and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has been placed in bed rest at Cedacrest Hospital in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
DAILY POST reliably gathered this Thursday night.
The private health facility is where Yusuf was rushed to Tuesday night after his involvement in a bike accident.
A source told our correspondent that top government officials – elected and appointed – visited the hospital today.
“Ministers, Governors, EFCC chairman among many others were at Cedacrest today”, he said.
“Yusuf is not in good shape. His condition has taken serious toll on his mother, Aisha.
“I can confirm to you that she was still on bed rest as at this evening”, he said.
Meanwhile, staff of the presidential villa earlier on Thursday in Abuja offered special prayers for the quick recovery of the president’s son.
The prayer session, which was held immediately after the afternoon (Zuhr) prayer, was led by the Chief Imam of Aso Rock Mosque, Abdulwahid Suleiman.
Suleiman prayed almighty God to continue to guide and protect the first family and all Nigerians.
He also prayed for peace, tranquillity and progress to reign supreme in the country.
Among those at the prayer session were the President’s Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Lawal Abubakar; Garba Shehu, the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity; the president’s Chief Personal Security Officer, Abdulkarim Dauda, as well other presidential aides and staff of the villa

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (DECEMBER PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*HE REWARDS YOUR LABOUR OF LOVE .*

Friday, December 29th .
Pastor Chris

_*For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister (Hebrews 6:10).*_

Everything you do or sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel isn’t only recorded (Malachi 3:16), the Lord also rewards you for it. This brings to mind Peter’s encounter with the Lord at the lake of Gennesaret: _*“And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship”*_ (Luke 5:1-3).

Peter and his company had just returned from a fruitless all-night fishing expedition. So, his decision to oblige the Master the use of his boat wasn’t an easy one; he had to jettison his disappointment and exhaustion. And thank God He did!

The Bible says after Jesus preached to the crowd from Peter’s boat, He asked Peter to launch out into the deep for a great catch. Peter obeyed and caught a great multitude of fishes such that he had to call out to his partners to help him haul in the great catch (Luke 5:6-7).

Remember, he had toiled all night and caught nothing. But suddenly, he had so much, just because of what He did for the Master.

What sacrifices have you made for the sake of the Gospel? It could be your time, money, family, friends and relationships you gave up, whatever it is, God hasn’t forgotten. Your blessing isn’t deferred until you get to heaven. It begins here on earth.

Peter didn’t receive his harvest of fishes in heaven; he got it on earth. Therefore, your reward isn’t far ahead; it’s closer than you think. Be assured that He’ll reward you in due time, for He doesn’t forget your labour of love!

*PRAYER*

*Dear heavenly Father, with renewed vigour, I yield myself to your Spirit for greater service, passionately seeking the expansion of your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

# AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 29TH DECEMBER.
I affirm that the anointing of God's Spirit is at work in me in an increasing measure. This is my year of flourishing; I am mightily blessed of the Lord on every side. God has granted me the speed of the Spirit and I experience luxuriant growth and persistent productivity in every area of my life. I have entered into the rest of the Lord, and I have ceased from all struggles; for it is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord. The anointing of the Holy Ghost has made the wilderness a fruitful ground. The dry land a river flowing ground. There's a spring of water flowing on every thirsty soul in my world and in the regions beyond. God has called and ordained me for something big and my world is in for a big surprise! Hallelujah! I am established in God's righteousness, planted in the house of the Lord; therefore, I flourish like the palm tree, with grace and glory! I bring forth fruit in season, and out of season because I am like a tree planted by the waters, ever in blossom. Glory to God!

A Catholic priest from Gboko diocese in Benue state on Wednesday 27 December 2017 stopped the State Governor, Chief. Samuel Ortom from making a speech at the thanksgiving service to mark the 64th birthday of Senator George Akume at St Christopher's church Wannune, Tarka LG.
According to sources in Wannune, the Parish Priest , Reverend Father Ashwe, did not allow the Governor to make his speech on the issue of non payment of salaries in the State.
Fr Ashwe said, during service, there was no way the governor would be allowed to talk.

Ashwe further explained to his people that the governor has failed to pay workers salaries thus causing hardship to workers in the State.

Akume had spoken at the thanksgiving mass and gave the microphone to Ortom to make a speech about the situation of things in Benue but Rev Father Ashwe did not allow the governor make his remarks, asking him to wait until they get to the reception venue where he could lie to the people about salary issues and other matters as much as he wanted. Ashwe added that he would not allow Ortom to stand in God’s house to deceive the people again.

Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor has however released a statement saying there is no rift between the governor and the Gboko Catholic diocese.

Over two years in office, Buhari continues to violate Nigeria’s procurement law
User Avatar Forum: Politics

President Muhammadu Buhari at FEC Meeting
Despite promises made during the 2015 election, President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to inaugurate the National Council on Public Procurement, NCPP, as required by the Public Procurement Act 2007.
Instead, the Federal Executive Council, FEC, under the leadership of the president, continues to usurp the most important function of the NCPP: approval of contracts.
The Public Procurement Act, which was signed into law by late President Umaru Yar’Adua on June 4, 2007 provides for the establishment of the NCPP, and the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, as the regulatory authorities responsible for the monitoring and oversight of public procurement as well as harmonising existing government policies and practices.
The Act was put in place to allow transparency and ensure public participation in government procurement.
Mr. Yar’Adua, who signed the Act into Law, however, failed to inaugurate the NCPP until his death in office. His successor, Goodluck Jonathan, who stayed in office for six years also failed to inaugurate the council.
Mr. Buhari has till date also toed the path of his predecessors in violating the law.
For weeks, PREMIUM TIMES tried to get Mr. Buhari’s spokesperson. Garba Shehu, to explain why the president has chosen to ignore the Act and refused to set up the NCPP; or whether he plans to do so. He repeatedly declined comment on the matter.
NIGERIANS REACT
The failure of the president and his predecessors to put the NCPP in place has been condemned by experts and anti-corruption activists.
A former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, described the refusal of successive governments to inaugurate the council as ”a reflection of the poor governance history of many African countries.”
Ms. Ezekwesili, pioneer head of the Budget Monitoring and Price Intelligence Unit under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, said the refusal has to do with the, ”priority of those in government.”

“It has to do with the prioritisation, I mean the priority that the political class gives to transactions above vision, strategy and policy,” she said.
“Transactions provide the opportunity for corruption, so they will like to have much more control over that than give it up to some institutional mechanisms like the council.
“How do you begin to explain an illegality that one administration after the other has made since that law was passed in 2007?  There is no other way to explain that illegality than to say that there is no incentive on the part of the political class to do what the law technically has recommended.
“That recommendation is the best way to direct the energy of the political class towards the most important activity that should worry them while leaving the council to operate in the way that it was envisaged.  So, if they have no incentive to set up the council, it could only be because they are very much interested in transactions and the cabinet ought not to be interested in transactions,” she said.
In his reaction, the Executive Director of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, CISLAC, Awwal Rafsanjani, said it is unfortunate that the APC administration that came “on the hope of fighting corruption and save the country from total collapse” has also joined the bandwagon in violating the law.

Mr. Rafsanjani said the Public Procurement Act 2007 is one of the “sunshine laws” established under the recommendation of the World Bank in 2001 to help in achieving transparency in the procurement process.
“Central to fighting corruption is the establishment of part one, section one of the Act which is the establishment of the National Council on Public Procurement. This council has the responsibility, among others to translate efforts to sanitise the public sector by applying the content of the law in full.
“Former President Goodluck Jonathan was of course not interested in terms of ensuring that the council is inaugurated and that is how he ended up his tenure without getting that council inaugurated.
“The current government came with all sort of motivation and encouragement that they want to fight corruption, but from what we are seeing, it is unfortunate that the government appears to have forgotten that one of the major things that they need to do to fight corruption is through public procurement. You can see the scandal every now and then because of lack of compliance and adherence to the implementation of the Public Procurement Law in Nigeria,” he said.https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/253608-two-years-office-buhari-continues-violate-nigerias-procurement-law.html/amp

Yusuf Buhari To Be Flown To Germany After Motorcycle Accident
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-28-2017, 03:40 PM - No Replies

Quote:The family of President Muhammadu Buhari is seriously considering flying their son abroad for advanced medical treatment, TheCable can report.

Yusuf, who was involved in a bike accident at Gwarinmpa in Abuja on Tuesday night, is currently at Cedacrest Hospital in the nation’s capital.

When TheCable visited the hospital on Wednesday evening, armed mobile policemen were seen guarding the place.

Yusuf sustained a head injury and broke a limb in the accident, which made him undergo a surgery.

In a statement on Wednesday, Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, said the only son of the president is in a stable condition.

But a source told TheCable that Shehu’s statement was not very accurate.

“The statement did not reflect the true situation of things. The boy is in a critical condition. He has been in the intensive care unit,” the source told TheCable.

“Some doctors in the hospital were even scared to attend to him just in case anything went wrong. Imagine doctors being scared to perform their duty. He is the only son of the president.”

The source added that the president’s family were making plans to get an air ambulance that would convey Yusuf to a German hospital which Cedacrest has an affiliation with.

Cedacrest is said to be the only orthopaedic specialist hospital in Abuja.

The doctors have reportedly advised them not to fly Yusuf out at the moment, explaining that it is dangerous to move him out in his current state.

“The last time they mentioned flying him abroad for better treatment, the medical team advised them against it because the boy needs to be in a good condition before he leaves,” the source added.

“But they do not seem to be satisfied with the advice and they are seriously considering flying him out.”

Top politicians and prominent personalities have been reaching out to the first family over the unfortunate situation.

Earlier, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar said his family was with Buhari in prayers.

Senate President Bukola Saraki, Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, and some governors have also sympathised with the president.

Oil Price Inches Towards $70, 44% Above Benchmark
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 12-28-2017, 03:37 PM - No Replies

Crude oil price has risen by $20 per barrel above Nigeria’s benchmark of N45 a barrel in the 2018 proposed yearly budget. In the proposed N8.6 trillion ‘Budget of Consolidation’ presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly for approval, crude oil benchmark price was put at an average of N45 per barrel, based on low benchmark price of $35, medium ($45) and high ($55) scenarios, while production was set at 2.3 million barrels per day.

At the close of Tuesday trading hour, global benchmark, Brent crude oil price was $65.25 a barrel, while the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) settle at $58.47 per barrel. What this means is that, at Nigeria’s production peg of 2.3 million proposed in the 2018 budget, the country will be making an excess crude oil earnings of $46 million per day (N16.5 billion), if crude oil price remain at $65 a barrel in 2018.

Brent crude oil has remained at above $60 a barrel level in the last few days, sparking talks that this could be the new floor under oil prices and that $70 a barrel oil in short term is now not only a producers’ wildest dreams, but a reality. This also shows that the crude oil production capping embarked upon by members and non-members of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is yielding positive result.

For example, as of November 2017, the OPEC and participating non-OPEC producing countries achieved an impressive highest conformity level of 122 per cent, following the pattern of high performances in the past months. This, OPEC said is coupled with the aforementioned amendment of the Declaration of Cooperation, is an unequivocal demonstration of the steadfast commitment of participating countries to continue working towards the achievement of the goal of rebalancing the market and putting it on a sustainable stable footing.

According to OPEC, The Joint OPEC-Non-OPEC Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) expressed great satisfaction with the results and sustained level of high conformity with the voluntary production adjustments, and encouraged all participating countries to achieve full conformity for the benefit of producers and consumers alike.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, Nigeria was capable of meeting and exceeding the 2.3 million barrels per day crude oil production and oil revenue benchmarks in the proposed 2018 budget before the National Assembly for approval.“First, the 1.8 million barrels per day was not a cap fixed for Nigeria by OPEC, but an expectation,” he explained.

“Also, Nigeria’s oil output does not include condensate production of 350,000 barrels per day. So, between 1.8 million bpd and 350,000 bpd, we are doing 2.2 million barrels per day. We can produce more than the 1.8 million bpd if we have the capacity.”

Group General Manager, Corporate Planning and Strategy, Bala Wunti, said the current production capacity for the country was more than 2.3 million barrels per day, noting, however, that due to the insecurity in the Niger Delta region, the full production capacity has not been achieved over the years. “The 2018 crude oil national production projection for Joint Ventures, Modified Carry Arrangement or External Financing, Production Sharing Contracts, Independents, Marginal Fields and Service Contracts is about 2,298,000 barrels per day,” Wunti said.

He added that the 2018 price projection on the long term price assumption was based on price scenarios of $35 (low), $45 (medium) and $55 (high), stressing that most price forecasting agencies thought that the medium price scenario had the highest probability of occurrence which the 2018 budget was hinged upon. “Consequently, a conservative price projection of $45 per barrel was used as benchmark for crude price for 2018 budget,” Wunti stated.

$1.1trn Worth Of Fuel Diverted By 18 Companies – Pdp

1.1TRN WORTH OF FUEL DIVERTED BY 18 COMPANIES – PDP
source : http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/12/11trn-worth-of-fuel-diverted-by-18.html

As fuel scarcity lingers across the country, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) maintained yesterday that 18 unregistered companies were used to lift and divert $1.1trn worth of crude oil in the last one year.
It accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of being silent over reports of fraud in the oil regime.
PDP further charged the APC-led government to tell Nigerians the truth regarding its handling of fuel related funds, particularly the circumstances surrounding what it called “the exposed diversion of fuel funds in sleazy oil subsidy payouts”.
In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the major opposition party in the country said it is completely reprehensible that the APC and the federal government have continue to stick to lies, particularly on the real reasons behind the biting fuel scarcity.
The party tasked the APC Government to speak out on reports of fraud in the oil regime whereupon 18 unregistered companies were used to lift and divert $1.1 trillion worth of crude oil in the last one year.
“We all know that it was convenient for the APC Presidency to promise Nigerians that it will no longer import fuel only because the PDP government had already laid the foundation including revamping the refineries and ensuring a domestic production of 5 million litres out of the 25 million litres daily domestic consumption.
“Sadly, this incompetent APC government, in its almost three years, has not added one litre to the 5 million litres which the PDP administration was producing. Instead of improvements, the APC has wrecked the system and now pushing the nation to depend solely on importation, while engaging in heavy sleazes in hidden subsidy regimes.
“Is it not also ridiculous for the federal government, in its bid to cover for its ineptitude and oil subsidy corruption, to announce that it is the NNPC and not Nigeria that is paying for the so called
The statement made available to Eyes Of Lagos continued: “The question is who owns the NNPC? Is it not Nigeria? Can NNPC spend a kobo without the authorization of the Presidency? Has President Muhammadu Buhari ceased to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Minister of Petroleum Resources?
“Moreover, if the NNPC, which is under his purview, has been paying fuel subsidy, who authorized the payment and who are the beneficiaries? Nigerians need to know the truth on this subsidy regime.
“We therefore challenge the APC- Federal Government to come clean on these issues and stop telling lies to Nigerians who have suffered enough under its deceptive, inept, uncoordinated and wicked regime”.
The PDP however urged Nigerians not to feel forlorn, adding that it has repositioned to stand with the people in the inevitable mission to rescue and restore the nation to the path of prosperity once more come 2019.

Wink :Saraki Helped Me To Become Speakeraraki Helped Me To Become Speaker — Dogara
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-28-2017, 03:15 PM - No Replies

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has explained how Senate President Bukola Saraki helped him to become speaker in June, 2015.

Both Saraki and Dogara emerged as leaders of the National Assembly against the wish of their party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in keenly contested elections. They defeated Sen. Ahmad Lawan and Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila respectively, who were the party’s choice.

Recounting how he emerged speaker, Dogara said, during a book launch to mark his 50th birthday in Abuja on Tuesday, that Saraki was key to his victory as the Senate President and donated both ideas and money to him.

“The story of my emergence as speaker is a story of national consensus. It’s a meeting of people across board. My brothers and sisters sat in the National Assembly and said ‘look, we’ll make you speaker’.

“Members made me speaker against all odds. I’m sorry I have to remind us of this. Virtually everything was done against the project. From the party to even resources at our disposal.

“I know I’ve not said this before, but the Senate president played a key role. Whenever we ran into trouble during the campaigns, we would go to him. He contributed a lot of ideas and even money, although I’m not going to mention how much.

“My victory reassured my faith in project Nigeria. That made me to say everything is possible in this country,” Dogara said.

Speaking on how to move the country forward, Dogara said Nigeria must invest heavily on education to have the right kind of leaders that would take the country to the desired destination.

“If we want to have the right kind of leaders, we must invest in education. In other countries, they have Ivy League universities that train their leaders. In Africa and Nigeria, we must also do that,” he said.

The speaker said he has chosen to celebrate his 50th birthday for the first time in his life in order to review his journey in life and make an impact in the lives of others, especially people like internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the less-privileged.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 28TH DECEMBER.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ Prayer And Fasting✨

And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29).

Sometimes as Christians, we miss God’s order of things. God is a God of order, and order gives meaning to things. For example, all around the world, people tend to confuse the order and say, “fasting and prayer,” instead of “prayer and fasting.” Prayer comes before fasting in the Scriptures.

Not understanding the right order may account for the reason many people fast without praying, which is largely a waste of time and effort. The emphasis should be on praying. It’s a call to prayer, and because you’re praying, you’re consciously staying away from eating. The fast is on, because you’re praying, not because you’re not eating.

Acts 13:2 says, “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said….” Notice the order: they ministered to the Lord and fasted. How do you minister to the Lord? It’s in worship, prayer, praise and thanksgiving. The focus was on ministering to the Lord, and because of this, they fasted. Then the Lord spoke to them after they had prayed.

The New Year is just around the corner, and in preparing for it, you must spend time to pray and fast. Pick the days, or if such days have already been designated in your group or in your local church, be sure to participate fully, bearing in mind the purpose of the fast: praying; ministering to the Lord.

Some people occupy themselves with various irrelevant activities during prayer and fasting, so they don’t feel the hunger until it’s time to break the fast, no; it’s not that way. Aside from praying, the only activities you should indulge in and encourage are such that would further inspire you to pray, such as studying and meditating on the Word.

Take your Bible and some Christian books to read, and messages to listen to or watch on your devices. Put the TV off, and cast the newspapers and magazines aside. Possibly, put off your phone or turn off the network; you don’t need any distraction.

If you desire specific outstanding results in the coming year that only the anointing can produce, you need to do this: Spend quality time to speak in tongues and position yourself for achievements and significant exploits, not just in the coming year, but in the years ahead.

PRAYER

Blessed Lord, I thank you for all that you’ve prepared for me in the coming year. My spiritual antenna is raised to hear and receive your instructions, guidance, and wisdom that’ll propel me in the path of greatness that you’ve ordained for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I affirm that I am of a different breed; I belong to the God class! I am not a part of the suffering masses. God has handpicked me out of the masses; out of the corruptive influence of this world into the Kingdom of His dear son. I'm in a safe place; a place of authority and dominion. Hallelujah! My mind is blessed to think right, being the mind of Christ. I think excellent thoughts, and see pictures of excellence, success, victory, and abundance. My mind is programmed by the Word to stay continually on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. Hallelujah! I am of the day and not of the night; therefore, darkness has no place in me. I am the light of the world; my calling is to illumine the hearts of men.   Fuel scarcity: Queues reduce in Lagos, Ibadan, persist in Kwara, Bauchi

[Image: osun-petrol-fuel-scarcity.jpg]THERE were mixed reactions, on Tuesday, by motorists about the availability of petrol in fuel filling stations in the country.

While the scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS) otherwise called petrol, witnessed in the country last week has subsided in some states, the scarcity still persisted in some.
Reports coming in from Lagos and Oyo states indicated that the scarcity of the product had abated, while it still persists in Abuja, Bauchi and Kwara states.
Fuel supply has also significantly improved in some parts of Lagos State.
Many petrol stations were shut due to lack of products while the few ones selling were having fewer queues when compared with what happened on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day.
Oando, Mobil, Conoil, and Total filling stations situated along Maryland axis were dispensing fuel to motorists but the queues were not long.
A few filling stations like MRS, Heyden and Conoil along Lagos-Abeokuta highway were dispensing to motorists.
NNPC retail station situated at Omole was also dispensing with fewer queues while Total and Oando filling stations were also dispensing to motorists along Oregun axis.

Queue still persists in Abuja
In Abuja, fuel scarcity still persisted but fuel was being dispensed to motorists at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega station in Central Area, Kubwa road; Oando in both zone one and Kardo; NIPCO at Jabi, Kardo and on airport road with long queues.
In some of the petrol stations also visited by the Nigerian Tribune within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, especially in Area 10 and11, only Total around Force Headquarters was seeing attending to customers with the long queue, while others did not open as a result of the scarcity of the product.

Long queues disappear in Oyo
Gradually, queues at filling stations in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday, started disappearing, as few stations which sell petrol now sell at N200 per litre.
Although there is no announcement to that effect, it seems the last week scarcity has temporarily jacked up the pump price to N200 per litre at the moment.
Nigerian Tribune recalled that towards the tail end of last week, pump price went as far as N200 per litre while those who maintained the official pump price had hectic time selling to motorists as a result of long queues.
Some filling stations around Iwo-road Bestway area and Ojoo-UI axis sold to motorists at N200 per litre on Tuesday.
One of the motorists who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune said: “I parked my car for three days since Friday night because I don’t want to buy from the black market. But today, I manage to get fuel from the station, though at N200 per litre.”
Meanwhile, commercial bus and taxi operators in the town have also reduced fares.
The reduction was between 20 and 30 per cent as against what was observed last week.

Orderliness, chaotic situations at filing stations
A mixture of some orderliness and pockets of chaotic situations were noticed in many petrol stations in the Ibadan metropolis.
While the impatient nature of some motorists and commercial motorcycle riders were responsible for some chaotic and unruly scenarios in some stations, there was a seeming orderliness in some stations especially along the Ife-Ibadan highway.
For instance, at LSDEJ Oil Station at Adegbayi, Ibadan, there was orderliness as the station manager, Adeboye Ademola Lawrence, controlled sharp practices noticed in some other stations.

Fuel situation worsens in Bauchi
The fuel situation in Bauchi State has worsened as the product was not available in the state.
No single filling station has the product to sell to motorists as of Tuesday evening.
The commodity is not readily available at all the AYM Shafa filling stations as well as the NNPC Mega stations within Bauchi metropolis, a development that subjected users to series of hardship.
Some of the motorists who spoke lamented that the situation had affected their business as they had to spend hours on the queue waiting for the commodity.
Ishaya Muda who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune said that he had spent over 24 hours on the queue waiting for the commodity at one of the filling stations, a development he said had made him to lose important appointments.
At all the motor parks within Bauchi metropolis, few commuter vehicles were seen as most of them had gone looking for petrol at the filling stations that were dispensing at unofficial prices of between N220 and N300 per litre while a four-litre gallon from the road side black marketers sell for between N1,100 and N1,300.

Scarcity persists in Kwara
In Ilorin metropolis, the Kwara State capital and some other parts of the state including Offa, Ajase Ipo, Omu Aran, Omupo and Idofian, vehicular queues that had hitherto not been in existence, due to long days of fuel scarcity, have resurfaced.
Nigerian Tribune, on Tuesday, gathered that the scarcity still persisted in most parts of the state, as many filling stations owned by major and independent oil marketers were closed for business.
It was gathered on Tuesday afternoon that queues resurfaced at some few filling stations owned by the independent marketers in the Ilorin metropolis, particularly, when petroleum trucks arrived the filling stations.
Motorists and other fuel users had continued to find it difficult to buy fuel in Ilorin as fuel scarcity in the town worsened.
The scarcity had also affected socioeconomic life in the town as transport fare was increased by commercial transport operators while prices of some commodities soared.

Scarcity paralyses fun at National Theatre in Lagos
The National Theatre Complex in Iganmu, Lagos, was on Tuesday devoid of the usual Boxing Day buzzing activities as only few fun seekers were at the monument.
NAN reported that there was little to suggest that Boxing Day was taking place in the premises as the usual carnival-like atmosphere was absent.
Patronage was low for restaurant and kiosk owners as they waited on end for customers.

NSCDC deploys personnel to filling stations in Enugu
In Enugu State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,000 personnel to filling stations to maintain law and order, as motorists and motorcyclists struggle to buy petrol.
The corps commandant in the state, Mr Steve Amoga, made this disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu, on Tuesday.
Amoga said the corps personnel were deployed to NNPC mega filling stations and major marketers’ filling stations that sell fuel at the pump price of N145 but had to contend with long queues.
“What we have decided to do is to ensure deployment of our personnel to filling stations with long queues in order to ensure that the lines keep flowing.
“Troublemakers are checked from distorting the queues and causing hardship for law-abiding citizens, who have decided to follow the queues diligently,” he said.
Amoga said that the operation’s mandate only covered orderliness in the filling stations.

DPR, NNPC, NSCDC clamp down on filling station selling at N250
A joint task force made up of officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Joint Task Force on Sunday clamped down on a filling station in Kubwa, Abuja, for selling at N250.
Upon the discovery, the combined patrol team led by Group Managing Director, NNPC, Dr Maikanti Baru, subsequently dispensed all petrol at the filling station to motorists for free.
Stating that the monitoring exercise was to uncover illegal and unlicensed filling stations, Baru remarked that the fuel situation had continued to improve over the past days.
He further assured that going by efforts of the NNPC, adequate fuel distribution and supply across the nation would be restored in the next few days.
The joint task force is billed to continue its monitoring opera

Airline Operators Lament Failure of Security Agencies to Check Unruly Passengers

Domestic airline operators have frowned on the failure of security operatives at the nation’s airports to rein in unruly passengers who react violently to flight delays and cancellations due to the Harmattan haze that affects flights at the end of every year.
Many operators that spoke to THISDAY anonymously said over the years such incidents repeat themselves and security operatives allegedly seemed indifferent to such agitations, which also disrupt flight operations to other destinations not affected by unfavourable weather.
Since December 23, 2017 Harmattan haze has reduced visibility to many airports in the southern part of Nigeria, which witness passenger surge during the Christmas festivities.

According to the operators, Enugu and Owerri passengers in particular have been extremely unruly and uncontrollably violent that some of the travellers in their midst were miffed by their excessive reactions.
Recently, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) issued a statement warning passengers to desist from violent reactions when flights are cancelled or delayed because such actions were taken to ensure safety and directed airlines and pilots to always abide by weather reports, which are critical to safe flight operations.
Aggrieved air travellers who spoke to THISDAY, however, urged the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and security agents at the nation’s airports to check the excesses of passengers, especially those on the services to Owerri and Enugu who often prevent others from boarding their aircraft in protest against alleged delay of their flights.
Speaking with newsmen in Lagos on Tuesday, some of the passengers alleged that they were prevented from boarding their Air Peace flights in Lagos and Abuja for hours by their counterparts scheduled to fly to Enugu and Owerri.
One of the affected passengers, Mr. Peter Akpesiri, said he was prevented from boarding his Abuja-Lagos flight for hours by those travelling to Owerri whose flight was delayed.
“It is quite shocking that some set of passengers could actually prevent others from flying simply because their own flights were delayed. While it is their right to seek redress where they feel dissatisfied, it is totally out of place for them to prevent others from flying. Our airports, as a high security environment, should not be a place for people to exhibit such condemnable act of lawlessness. It is high time this worsening development was checked to prevent others from resorting to self-help,” he warned.
Another affected passenger, Mrs. Rose Waziri, told reporters that her Lagos-Abuja flight was prevented from boarding by Enugu-bound passengers, who barricaded the boarding gate for hours.
She wondered why a set of passengers should prevent others from flying because of the alleged delay of their flight, charging security agents to check the trend to prevent a clash at the nation’s airports.
Corporate Communications Manager of Air Peace, Mr. Chris Iwarah, confirmed the Lagos and Abuja incidents, describing them as unfortunate.
He explained that the Enugu and Owerri flights were delayed because of weather and technical challenges, insisting that Air Peace would only operate a flight when it would not endanger the lives of its passengers and crew in line with its uncompromising stand on safety.
He disclosed that visibility went as low as 400 metres in Enugu, Owerri and even Akure, which is far below the 800 metres minimum accepted in most of the airports in the country.
Iwarah said the airline regretted the prevention of its passengers from boarding their flights by Owerri and Enugu passengers, assuring them that the carrier would continue to do everything within its control to provide quality service and prevent acts of lawlessness against its guests and staff.
He said: “Air Peace would from henceforth refuse to do a flight where such an incident occurs, besides seeking the enforcement of the law against such passengers.
“While other passengers flying to other destinations would readily cooperate with the airlines in difficult moments, it is not the same with Enugu and Owerri passengers. During this period, passengers on the Enugu and Owerri routes travel with a lot of luggage, some with as many as 20 suitcases each! At the check-in counters, such owners would take over 30 minutes of our check-in time arguing on why they must not pay for excess luggage, citing how they travelled from Atlanta with those suitcases without paying a dime.
“At the end, we waste over two hours checking in just one flight. The time the aircraft would have used in getting to its destination and back to its origin is expended on addressing the difficult passengers. At the end, it brings about serious delays for other routes.”

Marketers: Our depots are empty — we’re NOT hoarding fuel
User Avatar Forum: Politics

The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA) says members’ depots are empty, maintaining that they are not hoarding fuel and are therefore not responsible for crippling crisis.
In a statement signed by Olufemi Adewole, DAPPMA’s executive secretary, and shared with TheCable, the association said there are always issues when the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) takes on the role of “sole importer” as it currently does.
“It is on record that any time NNPC assumes the role of sole importer there are issues of distribution, because it is marketers who own 80 percent of the functional receptive facilities and retail outlets in Nigeria,” DAPPMA said.
“Historically, DAPPMA members imported about 65 percent of the nation’s total fuel consumption. Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) imports about 15 percent and PPMC/NNPC imports the balance of 20 percent.
“However this scenario changed drastically due to several challenges faced by marketers.
“Our members’ depots are presently empty. However, if the PPMC/NNPC can provide us with petrol, we are ready to do 24-hour loading to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians and for the fuel queues to be totally eliminated.”
The association said its members would have to rely on subsidy to import fuel because the landing cost of petrol is already above N145 per litre.
According to them, about 800 million litres of petrol have been ordered and paid for without it being programmed or loaded.
“Sadly, some people have blamed marketers for hoarding products. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth,” they said.
“Hoarding is regarded as economic sabotage and we assure all Nigerians that our members are not involved in such illicit act.
“We, petroleum products marketers, do empathise with all Nigerians who are going through difficulties at this time by spending hours on fuel queues because of the current fuel scarcity due to no fault of theirs.”

Fuel scarcity: Baru, Kachikwu deceived and misled Nigerians, says Falana
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-27-2017, 02:37 PM - No Replies

Femi Falana, human rights lawyer, says Maikanti Baru, group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum, deceived Nigerians by saying there was enough fuel to supply consumers.
In a statement on Monday, Falana said despite the assurance given by the duo, the scarcity of the product has persisted, causing some people to sleep over at filling stations just to buy fuel.
“In view of the shortage of petrol throughout the country it is indubitably clear that Messrs Kachukwu and Baru deliberately set out to deceive the Nigerian people when they gave the misleading impression that there was enough fuel to cater for all consumers,” Falana said.
“On December 7, 2017, the federal executive council (FEC) was reported to have ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the ministry of petroleum resources to address the fuel scarcity in some parts of the country at the material time.
“The decision was conveyed to Nigerians by the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed at the end of the FEC meeting which held in Abuja on that day.
“The minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu who could not attend the meeting was said to have given FEC assurance that there was no cause for alarm. According to Mr. Mohammed, Kachikwu had told the FEC that there was enough fuel in the country to last till January 2018. And that there was no intention by the federal government to increase the pump price of fuel.
“Nigerians were also informed that the group managing director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru, had cut short his trip to London as queues returned to the country’s filling stations.
“Before leaving for London, Baru had said, ‘For the umpteenth time, I wish to call on all Nigerians to stop panic buying. We have said times without number that NNPC has sufficient products to cater for the needs of all consumers’.
“Baru was further reported to have directed that more truckloads of petroleum products be dispatched to various parts of the country to cushion the effects of excessive demand caused by panic buying.”
Falana said neither Baru nor Kachikwu has apologised to Nigerians for the hardship caused by their assurances.
He also said President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the minister of petroleum, has failed to explain to Nigerians the cause of the fuel scarcity.
He added that if the federal government claims it has fuel, it should make the product available throughout the country.
“Since the assurance was given over three weeks ago, the fuel crisis has been compounded without any solution in sight,” he said.
“Up till now, both highly placed officials have not tendered a public apology for engaging in public deceit. Neither has the substantive minister of petroleum resources, President Muhammadu Buhari explained the cause of the ongoing fuel crisis which has subjected the Nigerian people to untold misery and agony.
“Although the federal government has continued to assure the nation that there is no plan to increase the price of petrol, the independent marketers have said that they can no longer import refined fuel and sell at N145 per litre.
“Convinced that the government lacks the political will to deal with them the marketers have illegally increased the pump price of the product to N300 per litre in several parts of the country.
“The cheap blackmail of the importers ought to be rejected because they were importing the product, selling at N145 per litre and smiling to the banks when a dollar exchanged for over N500 last year.
“Since the federal government claims that there is enough fuel to cater for all consumers the police should be mobilized to monitor the supply of the product throughout the country and ensure that all saboteurs are arrested and prosecuted forthwith.”

‘We don’t need a leader who doesn’t know his age’ — PDP demands Buhari’s resignation
User Avatar Forum: Politics

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign over his age.
On Monday, Buhari while receiving a delegation led by Mohammed Bello, minister of the federal capital territory, said he thought he turned 74 but was told that he is 75.
Reacting in a statement on Tuesday, Diran Odeyemi, deputy spokesman of the PDP, wondered how many other “inconsistencies” were in the president’s biodata submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Odeyemi said INEC should revisit the forms filled by Buhari “to unearth other inconsistencies therein”.
While saying Nigerians do not need a president that “forgets things too easily”, the deputy spokesman said many Nigerians and even the global community must have been taken aback that a leader of a country did not know his real year of birth.
“How many other inconsistencies are in Mr. President’s biodata submitted to INEC? We are sure there are more. And the world is waiting on the body to give details about our president,” the statement read.
“We advise INEC to revisit those forms President Buhari filled in all elections he had participated in, especially those he filled before 2015 elections to unearth other inconsistencies therein.
“In a normal clime, the electoral umpire would have set in motion verification modalities to avoid further national embarrassment and expose Mr President.
“Come to think of it, a leader that does not know his real age, could not be said, to have sound knowledge of the people and country he governs, let alone knowing the peculiarities of the governed. This is simply not the kind of president Nigeria needs at the moment.
“Not too long ago, Nigeria became laughing stock with the inappropriate designation of German chancellor, Angela Merkel as President of West Germany by President Buhari.
“We recall president Buhari once admitted that his age would slow down his performance in office. For a country that could fall into an emergency situation anytime, like the present government-failing induced fuel scarcity, we don’t need a president that forgets things easily.
“We advise Mr. President to consider turning in his resignation letter to avoid further slowing down the country because of his age, and to also save our corporate image as a country that has a president with occasional memory failure.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 27TH DECEMBER.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ LOVE LIKE JESUS✨

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death (1 John 3:14).

Walking in love isn’t an option for the Christian, and one major characteristic of love is that it forgives. You must always forgive others, irrespective of what they might have done against you. It doesn’t matter the extent of hatred and acrimony you may experience from certain people, you have the obligation to love and forgive those who hurt or persecute you, like Jesus did.

Imagine His reaction to those who crucified Him; He looked up to heaven and said, “...Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...” (Luke 23:34). He overlooked their ignorance and forgave their wrongs. Always be quick to forgive. Don’t say, “But what he did was so terrible”; there’s no wrong that doesn’t deserve forgiveness. Jesus proved it.

Stephen did too; read his story: the Jews stirred up false charges against him for preaching the Gospel and ordered his execution. The Bible says, “…as the murderous stones came hurtling at him, Stephen…fell to his knees, shouting, ‘Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!’ and with that, he died” (Acts 7:59-60 TLB). He cried out to God to forgive those who murdered him.

As you take stock and round off the year, one thing you must ensure is to look into your life and confidently say that you hold nothing against anyone. Even the most difficult people, under the most difficult circumstances, still deserve to be loved.

God wants you to know that all people are valuable to Him, irrespective of how you may feel about them. Train yourself to relate with everyone around you in this manner. Never judge or condemn others. Follow the example of the Master. He said in Matthew 5:44-45, “…Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven….”

PRAYER
Dear Father, just as you’ve loved me, I’ve made up my mind to love like you—unconditionally. The compassion of Christ is expressed through me today. My heart is full of love, because the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost, to see the beauty and true value of others, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
Matthew 5:43-46 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

1 John 4:7-12 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

North Korea preparing to launch satellite
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Kim Jong-un, leader of North Korea
North Korea is preparing to launch a satellite, a Seoul newspaper said Tuesday, as outside observers warn that the nuclear-armed regime’s space programme is a fig leaf for weapons tests.
Pyongyang is under multiple UN sanctions over its nuclear and missile tests and is prohibited from carrying out any launch using ballistic missile technology including satellites.
“Through various channels, we’ve recently learned that the North has completed a new satellite and named it Kwangmyongsong-5”, the Joongang Ilbo daily reported, quoting a South Korean government source.

“Their plan is to put a satellite equipped with cameras and telecommunication devices into orbit”, he said.
Pyongyang launched their Kwangmyongsong-4 satellite in February 2016, which most in the international community viewed as a disguised ballistic missile test.
A spokesman for the South Korean military joint chiefs of staff said there was “nothing out of ordinary at this moment” but added that Seoul was watching out for any provocative acts “including the test of a long-range missile disguised as a satellite launch”.
The report came as the North’s ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun reasserted the regime’s right to launch satellites and develop its space technology.
In a commentary published on Monday and titled “peaceful space programmes are sovereign countries’ legitimate rights”, the daily said Pyongyang’s satellite launches “absolutely correspond” with international laws concerning space development.
At a UN General Assembly committee meeting in October, North Korea’s deputy UN ambassador Kim In-Ryong said his country has a 2016-2020 plan to develop “practical satellites that can contribute to the economic development and improvement of the people’s living”.
He stressed North Korea’s right to produce and launch satellites “will not be changed just because the US denies it”.
North Korea is believed to have successfully put a satellite into orbit in December 2012 after years of failures dating back to 1998 when it launched a pilot satellite and named it Kwangmyongsong-1.

Earlier this month, the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaia Gazeta quoted a Russian military expert, Vladimir Khrustalev, as saying that North Korea was expected to launch two satellites — an Earth exploration satellite and a communications satellite — in the near future.
Khrustalev made the remark after returning from his week-long trip to North Korea in mid-November when he met with representatives of the country’s National Aerospace Development Administration, the Russian daily said.
Tensions have soared as the isolated regime has staged a series of atomic and intercontinental ballistic missile tests — most recently on November 29.

Police operatives in Enugu state have smashed a six man gang armed robbery suspects that specialized in the blocking of highways, hijacking of buses with passengers and taking them to a secluded portion of bushes off from the road and robbing passengers of money, valuables and belongings.

During the operations carried out, four of the gang dressed in a suspected police uniform were promptly arrested after a gun duel with the operatives that took them off guard and which left them fatally injured while two of the gang members believed also to have been touched by bullets of the operatives escaped with the injuries.

It was gathered that suspects had allegedly in the early hours of 24/12/17 , while dressed in suspected police uniform along 9thmile/Nsukka Expressway by Egede in Udi Local Government Area Enugu state - had stopped two Hiace commuter buses of a commercial bus company believed to be coming from Lagos and heading to Otukpo Benue state, diverted the buses to another bush road where they were allegedly robbing their victims before the operatives swooped on them.

Buhari's Documentary Is An Insult On Nigerians - Kayode Ogundamisi

According to Kayode Ogundamisi, a rights activist and social commentator, the timing of the release of a documentary on Buhari by the presidency is all wrong.

“Buhari documentary commissioned by Femi Adesina during fuel scarcity is an insult on Nigerians.” he said.

Ogundamisi campaigned and mobilized for Buhari in the 2015 Presidential election. But with the airing of the documentary at a delicate time of fuel scarcity and difficulty for the people, he has showed his displeasure.

 • A bitcoin was worth $15,338 at 8.20 a.m. GMT on Boxing Day.
 • The cryptocurrency is up more than 10%, recouping losses from the previous day.
 • Its value has fallen sharply over the past week, and has been declining more modestly since.

The price of bitcoin surged more than 10% on Boxing Day to $15,338, as the volatile cryptocurrency recouped losses from the previous day, according to data from Markets Insider.
The cryptocurrency had lost almost 2% of its value on Christmas day. The movement was a modest lost after much sharper gains earlier in the week, when bitcoin plummeted from an all-time high of $19,843.
A bitcoin bought on January 1, 2017 has increased in value more than twelve-fold, despite the late December drop.
Here's the chart for Boxing Day morning:
[Image: btc1.png] Markets Insider
The currency is difficult to value with any objective criteria, and traditional investors remain very wary of it.
Business Insider highlighted a note from investment analysts at Morgan Stanley, which suggested that bitcoin may soon have a practical value of nothing
Analyst James Faucette highlighted the tiny number, and declining, number of retailers prepared to exchange bitcoin for actual goods, which could spell a rocky future. Faucette said bitcoin is not like a currency, it's not like gold, and it has had difficulty scaling.

Palestinian Christian Leaders Denounce Trump's Decision
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-26-2017, 01:56 PM - No Replies

Palestinian Christian leaders have rejected US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, calling it "dangerous" and "insulting".

Trump's December 6 announcement has sparked protests across the Muslim world and drawn international condemnation.

The US move is offensive to "Christians and Muslims around the world who consider Jerusalem as an incubator of their most sacred, spiritual and national heritage", Atallah Hanna, the archbishop of Jerusalem's Greek Orthodox church, said in a statement on Saturday.

"We, Palestinians, Christians and Muslims reject the US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," he added.

The US gave the occupation what it does not deserve."

'Message of unity'
His comments came as Christian Palestinians on Sunday took part in festivities taking place on the eve of Christmas.

Al Jazeera's Hoda Abdel-Hamid, reporting from Bethlehem, said many Muslims were also attending the annual events in a show of solidarity against Trump's decision.

"This message of unity is one Palestinians are very adamant to convey, especially while there is this political crisis taking the area by storm," she said.

Maher Canavati, a member of Bethlehem's local council, told Al Jazeera the celebrations are intended to deliver "messages of peace, love and understanding".

"We want peace with our neighbours [but] we need to be able to share Jerusalem and to have easy access to Jerusalem as Palestinians [as well]."

Bethlehem, normally brimming with tourists at this time of year, has been almost empty of visitors in recent days due to nearby confrontations between Israeli forces and Palestinian protesters in the wake of the US decision.

"Unfortunately, after the statement of Donald Trump a lot of people were not sure about the security in this area. Many of those who were in the country did not make it to Bethlehem, they stayed in Jerusalem and in the northern part of the country," said Canavati.

"But we are here are celebrating, welcoming everybody - it is very important for us that all of the Christians coming to Bethlehem supporting the Muslim and Christian community here are taken care of."

Life in Gaza a 'prison'
In the Gaza Strip, Palestinian Christians held a vigil to express their support for Jerusalem as Palestine's capital.

Al Jazeera's Malcolm Webb, reporting from the besieged territory, said anger at Trump's decision is shared among Christians and the majority-Muslim populating living in the besieged territory.

Everyone we have spoken to here is in opposition to the US move, and they say it only adds to the frustration of life here," he said.

The Israeli blockade of the occupied Gaza Strip, in its current form, has been in place for more than 10 years.

Gaza's isolation has devastated its economy, impoverished much of the Strip's two million people, and left them without adequate electricity, water and health services. Since 2007, Israel has launched three wars against the Hamas-governed Strip.

Some 1,000 Christians live in the Gaza Strip, fewer than half the amount 10 years ago.

According to sociologist Samir Quta, many Christian families have fled Gaza in recent years in search of safety and financial security.

"Christian families in Gaza usually have a high socio-economic level, and the more people have options and money, the more they look for a better life," he told Al Jazeera.

"This is not available in Gaza. Even with money in Gaza you cannot have a good life."

Rosette Saygh, a Christian still living in Gaza, told Al Jazeera life in the territory has become like a "prison" for those who have remained behind.

"Life is very difficult in Gaza, we live under siege and we cannot move anywhere … We have witnessed many wars, during the bombing we had to sleep in the church for safety," she said.

  Buhari: "I Won't Steal Nigeria's Money, I Pray 5 Times A Day"

Quote:President Muhammadu Buhari has asked his children to study hard, saying he will not steal Nigeria's money.
The president said this in a documentary entitled "Buhari: Beyond the Iron and Steel" aired on Nigerian Television Authority last night by the Presidency.

Buhari also said the goodwill he enjoyed from the masses kept him in politics.
He added that his central objective was to provide transparency and accountable government.
"I pray five times a day thanking God that allowed people to understand and believe me. This goodwill that I enjoy from the masses is what is keeping me in politics and of course, my central objective is to provide transparency and accountable government," he said.
Earlier in a Facebook post, presidential spokesman Mr Femi Adesina quoted some government officials as commenting on Buhari thus:
"He gives you things to do, and leaves you strictly to do those things. No interference at all, once he has confidence in you....And he cracks those jokes, and manages to still keep a straight face." -Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
"He gave me some priority projects: Mokwa/Jebba road, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, and Second Niger Bridge...He never appends his signature to anything, unless you've explained, and he understands it." Mr Babatune Raji Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing.
"When we were in the opposition, you needed to see how we rolled on the floor in his living room, as we laughed. Of course, we can't do that again now." Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna State governor.
"I wish I had his patience. He would listen to everybody, and then take a decision. He is a reformed democrat." Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
"How I wish Nigerians know his softer and accommodating side. Very jocular. But it is our duty to tell them." Abike Dabiri, Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters.

Galatasaray To Employ Emmanuel Eboue As Assistant Coach After Suicide Thoughts

The former Arsenal defender revealed in an interview with the Mirror on Sunday that he has been pushed to the brink of suicide after losing everything and now spends his days hiding from bailiffs.

In addition to this, Eboue sometimes sleeps on the floor of a friend's home and even cleans his clothes by hand because he has no washing machine.

According to Turkish Football, the club is ready to provide a salary that reflects his previous services to the club and find accommodation.
However, Galatasaray manager, Faith Terim in an interview with CNN said, "We heard news about Eboue in the dressing room, I was informed there, we will do whatever we can to help my friend."

Eboue, now 34, spoke of his appreciation for his former manager in Istanbul.

"I would be very happy if Fatih Hodja gave me the duty in Galatasaray, and Fatih Terim is my father, I love him very much, I do everything for him because I love him very much." said Eboue.

Galatasaray have gone on to launch a campaign helping former players with troubles, with club legends Hasan Şaş and Necati Ateş sharing messages of support for the Ivorian, who now plays for Turkish/Cypriot side Turk Ocagi Limasol.

Buhari Has No Human Side – AIED Rubbishes Documentary On President
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-26-2017, 11:52 AM - No Replies

The Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED) has described the documentary made by the Presidency to show the ‘human side’ of Buhari as an inhuman gesture by the Buhari-led administration.
.

The organization described the documentary as a “spat on the tears of Nigerians” at a time when Nigerians are struggling due to scarcity of fuel, high unemployment rate .
.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by its Deputy Director, Adekoya Boladale, AIED said the timing of the documentary is wrong and distasteful, adding that no documentary will bestow the qualities president buhari does not possess.
.

“The documentary is a spat on the tears of Nigerians who for the last few days have been spending sleepless nights at fuel stations and paying through their nose for black matter rate fuel at 500 naira per litre. Coming at a time when the population of unemployed Nigerians is at an all time high and the means of livelihood is next to impossible, this documentary is distasteful”, it read.
.

“To add salt to an open wound, the Presidency assembled redundant men of questionable characters most who are known signature of corruption to vouch for the President on a trait they lack. Agents and cronies of the President who are benefitting from the systemic corruption and esprit de corps graft activities that have overclouded the presidency.
.

“It is disgusting that a Presidential tenure characterized by state-backed extra judicial killings, blatant disregard for the rule of law, economic decadence and hyper profligacy can engage in image marketing rather than fixing the hell hole it has dragged Nigeria into.
.

In a sane society, the crops of individuals that presently make up the Presidency should have been arrested, tried and jailed for taking the country to a state of chaos.
.

“No amount of documentaries will bestow upon President Buhari the character he doesn’t posses. There is no human side to anyone who care less about the pains and agonies of his people, there is no human side to anyone who does not posses any iota of empathy and certainly, no individual can claim a human side if such individual blatantly defend the murder of thousands of citizens because they had the ‘audacity to tap a General’s chest’.
.

“The true human side of any individual doesn’t require so much shoving in the throat for it to be known. It is self revealing. Evident in deeds, character and posture. All which Buhari does not posses”.
.

Meanwhile, Nigerian presidency has
lambasted Nigerians for attacking it over
the film.

In a statement on Sunday, president spokesman, Femi Adesina, said those condemning the idea have no pastime and will complain about God if they “mistakenly” make heaven.

*THE REVELATION OF THE WORD IN YOU .*

Tuesday, December 26th .
Pastor Chris

_*Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you (1 Peter 1:23-25).*_

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you (1 Peter 1:23-25).

The Bible says we’re the epistles of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:2); in other words, your very life is a message; it’s the manifestation of God’s Word, because you’re born of the Word of God; that makes you an offspring of the Word. Every living thing reproduces after its kind and you’re born of the same living Word that became flesh and dwelt amongst us. This means you’re also the Word of God in flesh.

2 Corinthians 3:2-3 says, _*“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.”*_ You’ve been manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ. This is the revelation of true Christianity!

True Christianity is the out-working of the Word in you. When you talk, it’s the Word; when you act, it’s the Word. We read that we’re manifestly declared to be the epistles of Christ, known and read of all men. Meaning that, as the world look at us, they literally can read the Word of God. No wonder we’re the effulgence of His glory, the manifestation of His righteousness. When you show up, Christ shows up, for as He is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17).

*CONFESSION*

*I’m born of the incorruptible Word of God. Therefore, I’m the epistle of Christ, the effulgence of His glory, the manifestation of His goodness and righteousness. I’m a message read of all men, through whom many are coming to the glory, beauty, perfection, liberty, joy, and the knowledge of Christ. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *John 1:14 AMPC* And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. *||*

*||* *James 1:18* Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. *||*

*||* *2 Corinthians 3:18* But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord. *||*

Goodluck Jonathan's Christmas Message And Reactions From Nigerians
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Quote:Christmas, the time when Christendom has chosen to celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ, is a time of unity and family. We celebrate the union of the divine with humans in Jesus and the fact that God has made room for us to be part of His family. That being the case, let us exhibit those virtues and unite as one family under God to do good to each other and our nation. I know of the sufferings our citizens are going through at this time and the challenges it poses. These challenges will pass, but Nigeria will remain. And we will remain united and familial. Merry Christmas from my family and I to all Nigerians and the family of mankind. GEJ.

FG Borrows N5trn From Pension Funds
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-25-2017, 01:48 PM - Replies (1)

Quote:The federal government has borrowed a whopping N5 trillion from the N7.3 trillion pension funds saved since the commencement of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in 2004.

LEADERSHIP investigations revealed that the N5 trillion was loaned to the government by the pension fund managers to fix its infrastructural deficits and meet its financial obligations as and when due.

It was learnt that, while the money has allowed the government to build new roads, repair the rail system, fix some of the power challenges, pay salaries of its workforce, among others, it has also in return lead to economic growth and development.

Findings by correspondents showed that the Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) invested N3.87 trillion, amounting to 54 per cent of the pension funds, in federal government bonds, while the pension operators also invested N1.27 trillion, representing 17.7 per cent of the pension funds in government treasury bills in a bid to rescue the federal government from illiquidity.

This means the pension industry has granted 71 per cent of the pension assets as loans to the federal government through bonds and treasury bills.

Since federal government bonds and treasury bills are less risky, the pension operators decided to invest heavily in them, while the new scheme has generated about N2.5 trillion as investment income from some of the investments PFAs made.

Speaking on this development, the chairman, Pension Funds Operators of Nigeria (PenOp), Eguarekhide Longe said, “With about N5 trillion invested in infrastructural development through bonds, it shows you that the pension fund has been active. So, the philosophy of managing this money is to add to it. It means that the money has been used profitably”.

He expressed dismay over the comments made by some lawmakers and government officials that the pension fund is lying idle, noting that most of the fund still resides with government.

He disclosed that, while the pension fund operators are ready to invest more of the fund in infrastructure, the federal government must come out with infrastructure bond, which it is yet to do.

“We are ready to invest in infrastructural bonds whenever the government decides to float them to finance key developmental projects”, Longe added.

Promising that the pension fund managers are ready to engage with government to expand the economic space, though it is not their primary objective, he added that care must be taken not to invest pension fund in a project that will not regenerate it.

“If you put pension fund in a project that does not regenerate it, the money is gone and in many cases as we have found, the project has not been delivered because it was not properly conceived”, Longe noted.

He said the managers had requested the investment banking community to come out with products that abide by the investment guidelines in the Pension Act, which operators can finance.

Longe continued: “The fact is that there are ample provisions in the investment guidelines that allow for investment in projects, so to say, infrastructure, private equities and real estates, bonds, among others.

“But what has happened is not that the money is idle in the PFAs or that the fund managers have not looked for those projects. It is not their jobs to go and create projects, but we have actively sort the investment banking community to develop products that we can invest in”.

In the same vein, the former Chairman of PenOp, Dave Udeanu, called on the government to come up with projects that are backed up with adequate guarantee, stressing that most states have already invested part of the pension funds in infrastructure.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the filling station in Lagos, yesterday.
Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has admitted that it is a shame Christmas celebration in Nigeria has so far been characterised by discomfort caused by the lingering fuel scarcity.
His Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, in a statement on Monday morning quoted the Vice President as speaking during the interactions he had with some people keeping vigil at two filling stations in Lagos.

Osinbajo was said to have made surprise appearances at Oando Filling Station in Lekki and Hayden Petrol Station, Victoria Island.
“It’s such a shame that Christmas has been, to some extent, with this sort of discomfort.
“This is deeply regretted, and l know that, despite the resilience and strength of people in Lagos and the Nigerian people, we would see ourselves through this and will enjoy our Christmas and have a great new year,” he was quoted as telling those who were on queue to buy the scarce commodity.
He said the Federal Government was moving as quickly as it could to solve the fuel crisis and reduce the difficulties Nigerians were facing as a result.
He added, “We are trying to move as quickly as we can. Obviously, people have gone through a lot of pain and anguish in the past few days, and that is deeply regretted.
“We are trying to do what we can to move as quickly as possible and there is certainly enough products to be able to solve the problem.
“We will be able to solve the problem; the short period of scarcity is quite a bit of burden, but we know that so long as products are enough and the trucks coming out and feeding the stations, this will be over very soon.
“I am going around with the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources here in Lagos to ensure that first, the trucks are being loaded from all the depots, and also looking at the filling stations to see that things are moving on very well.

“The GMD of the NNPC is also working in Abuja to see that things are moving quickly and we are moving around the country. So we expect that it will be resolved very quickly.”
Osinbajo later took to his social media accounts to announce that he witnessed firsthand the discomfort Nigerians have been experiencing during his visits to the filling stations.
He assured Nigerians that the government is working hard to end their pains as soon as possible.
He added that President Muhammadu Buhari had mandated all those concerns to bring an end to the situation.
Osinbajo wrote, “Christmas is a time of cheer, joy, and hope for the coming New Year. Many people would love to be around their families, but regrettably, cannot because of the inadequacies in the fuel supply in different parts of the nation.
“This is something that President Buhari is deeply concerned about, mandating all relevant persons to bring an end to the fuel queues.
“I witnessed first-hand the discomfort that many of us have to contend with. We sympathise with you and we are working assiduously to eliminate this pain in the shortest possible time.
“We regret this inconvenience while assuring you that all hands are on deck to return things to normalcy.
“I do hope that you still find time to reflect on the miracle of Christmas to lift your spirit and that of your family. God bless you and God bless our great nation.

2017 Christmas worst ever in Nigeria – PDP

2017 Christmas worst ever in Nigeria – PDP
…Urges Nigerians to support one another
Against the backdrop of the harsh economic reality in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described this year’s yuletide as worst ever and called on Nigerians not to despair.
The party, therefore, wanted Nigerians to use the occasion of this year’s Christmas to show love, care and encourage one another regardless of religious, ethnic and political inclinations.
According to PDP,  it is disheartening that Nigerians could not merrily celebrate the yuletide due to the current biting economic hardship worsened by acute fuel shortage, all due to the shambolic policies, sheer incompetence and gross insensitivity of the APC-led Federal Government.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Sunday, described the nation’s economic situation as a national embarrassment which cannot be glossed with deceit, lies and propaganda, urging Nigerians to overcome this very sordid situation by rallying around one another in true love as epitomized in the birth and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Indeed, this is the worst yuletide ever. There is no way one can sugarcoat the fact that the anguish Nigerians face today is because of the incompetence of the APC Government, which has also amply demonstrated that it does not care about the welfare and happiness of the citizens.
“Our country’s economic situation has astronomically gone from bad to worse in the last two years and painfully, there is no hope in sight under this APC regime.
“As we speak, many families are completely stranded; many more can no longer afford their basic needs.
“Nigerians have become ravaged by economic hardship because the APC-led Federal Government has abandoned them and refused to channel the abundant resources available in the nation for the good of the people. Instead, they are heartlessly diverting such resources for their selfish political purposes while the people suffer.
“These horrendous realities imposed on us by the APC notwithstanding, we must not become despondent.
“This Christmas season presents us very strong lessons in hope and our collective triumph over adverse situations as exemplified in the birth and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Now that it has become manifest, even by their speeches this season, that those who promised Nigerians El Dorado do not have the littlest capacity to fulfil the smallest of their promises,  we as a people must not also abandon ourselves.
“We must therefore rise above all divisive ethnic, religious and political considerations and make this season merry by helping and encouraging one another in love.
“The ugly situation we all confront today as a people must therefore serve as the catalyst for a prosperous tomorrow as Nigerians join hands with the PDP to restore our dear nation to the path of good governance and national prosperity come 2019”.
The PDP further urged Nigerians to use this period to pray for the prosperity and unity of our nation, wishing them a happy Christmas and prosperous new year ahead.

  Bad weather delaying Christmas flights

Bad weather delaying Christmas flights

Passengers travelling across the country for the  Christmas and New  Year holidays are experiencing flight delays as a result of bad weather.
BusinessDay’s findings show that destinations affected which are also frequently plied by passengers include Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Enugu.
Passengers expressed their dissatisfaction over the delays of flights and lamented that the situation has continued to worsen every Christmas.
“It is very sad that every Christmas, passengers have to experience flight delays over inability of pilots to fly during harmattan. We do not know why the agencies concerned won’t address the issue,” a passenger told BusinessDay.
Medview Airline has offered apology to passengers following flight delays  and rescheduling experienced in the week.
In a statement by its spokesman, Obuke Oyibotha, the airline said it regretted the inconveniences caused passengers as a result of such delays and rescheduling.
“We share your pains for our inability at the material time to fly you to your destinations at the appointed time.”
The airline however attributed the delays to adverse weather conditions and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, which are critical to flight operations.
The airline said the safety of passengers and crew come first before any other considerations, and in such situations, delays  and rescheduling become inevitable.

“We have put the necessary logistics in place to meet our obligations to our esteemed passengers who have over the years kept faith with us,” the airline added.

CAN On Fuel Scarcity: This Looks Like An Attempt To Sabotage X-mas Celebrations
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-25-2017, 12:03 PM - Replies (2)

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says the scarcity of petrol is an attempt to sabotage the celebration of Christmas.
In the last three weeks, Nigerians have been finding it difficult to get petroleum products.
In a statement on Saturday, Kwamkur Samuel, director legal and public affairs, wondered why the scarcity of the petroleum products occurred during the Christmas celebration.
Samuel called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take measures to ensure that the product is made available.
“CAN is worried about the resurfacing of long queues at filling stations in Nigeria, after several increases in fuel price to ensure the availability of the product to all citizens,” the statement read.

“We are not only concerned that this seeming artificial scarcity happens mostly during Christmas period. We are also disturbed that everything is looking like an attempt to deliberately sabotage the celebration of Christmas by some people.
“We wonder why queues would suddenly resurface after all assurances and steps have been taken towards constant availability of petroleum product.

“We want to call on President Muhammadu Buhari, the ministry of petroleum and other relevant stakeholders to take decisive measures towards ensuring that fuel is made available and accessible to all citizens within the shortest possible time at a controlled price.”
He said the failure of government to take measures against saboteurs is unacceptable to the church.
“Christmas season does not just happen; it is a worldwide annual celebration that is known to everyone. For authorities to behave like the season came suddenly and fail to take necessary measures to control the activities of saboteurs is unacceptable to the Church,” he said.
“We deeply view the negligence of relevant authorities to ensure fuel availability to citizens as deliberate and an attempt to exploit the citizens and particularly Christians who travel distances for the celebration.
“As we celebrate, let us all be security-conscious and remember the persecuted church in Adamawa, Kaduna, Borno and all other parts of Nigeria in our prayers and gifts.
“May we never forget to celebrate this Christmas with the reason for the season — the birth of the saviour of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord. Merry Christmas to all Nigerians and a prosperous New Year.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 25TH DECEMBER.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ Christmas Is The Word Alive In You✨

"And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth (John 1:14 AMPC)."

How awesome this is! Jesus, the Word, the ancient of days, became flesh and dwelt among us; that’s Christmas! I can imagine how awe-stricken the people were to see Jesus walk the streets in Bible days, full of grace and truth! The Bible says the disciples beheld His glory; He was resplendent in honour and majesty. The Word, which was, in the beginning of the ages now abides, not just with us but also in us.

The Bible says, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (Matthew 1:23). He was born “Emmanuel,” but today, He’s the Word alive in us: “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:26-27). Wow!

Christmas means the abiding Word in you! Now, like Him, you’re the Word in flesh, because you’re born of the Word: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” (1 Peter 1:23). James 1:18 declares, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” Blessed be God!

The Word became flesh and walked the streets; they beheld His glory, until He was slain. But God raised Him up and showed Him openly with many infallible proofs. Now, He abides in you. He lives in you, and you live through Him! This is the true definition and essence of Christmas: The Word has come. Christ is born. He lived and died, to be born in our hearts. Now He abides in you forever!

The One whose glory and light the Prophets spoke of; the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world; the very essence of life—Christ Jesus—is born in our hearts and He’s alive in you today. Merry Christmas!

CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for your presence in my life, and the glory of your Word, which is manifested through me today. I’m one with theWord, being born of the Word! Christ, the Living and incarnate Word has become my life; I live in and through Him. Blessed be God!

My Husband’s Penis Disappoints During Sex – Divorce Seeking Woman Tells Court
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

A 25-year-old housewife, Helen Bassey Umoh, has told an Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo to end her nine-month-old marriage with her husband, Michael Bassey Umoh over ‘malfunctioning’ of her husband’s manhood.
Helen, a graduate of Business Administration, told the court that Umoh’s “manhood always has inconsistent erection and that anytime the manhood becomes erect, he ejaculates within a few seconds which is not expected of a real man.”
Helen also claimed in the court that her husband did not make known his health status before the marriage, which took place in April.
She said: “My husband cannot satisfy me in bed especially in the night. Anytime I deny him sex, he would pick up a fight; I am tired of the marriage.
“The marriage has not produced any child and I am fed up with my husband’s harshness. I urge the court to dissolve the marriage because there is no love between us.
“My husband is fond of beating me unnecessarily and would at times curse me and lock me inside our bedroom.
“My husband blames me for our childlessness. I cannot continue to endure in an unproductive marriage and with a man that has no respect for his wife.”
Her husband, however, denied all her claims during cross examination.
He said: “The non-erection of my manhood is not regular; it is just that I am not always in the mood whenever she is in the mood. I don’t use any enhancement drugs for sex as she alleged.”

The ongoing fuel scarcity all over the country has sparked criticisms from Nigerians all over the country.
This is as Nigerians on social media haave blasted president Muhammadu Buhari for being incompetent and unattentive to plight of Nigerians.

Some Nigerians urged President Buhari who is minister of petroleum to take responsibility and stop blaming others by finding a quick solution to the fuel crisis, adding that there should be no scarcity after removal of subsidy.
Here are some comments:
@aligthebaptist “Buhari is the most incompetent President we have ever elected in the history of Nigeria. You can’t hide incompetence; just drive around the country and you’ll see the level of hopelessness this govt has brought upon the already impoverished citizens#fuelscarcity

Fayose condemns FG over persistent fuel scarcity, calls for Buhari’s resignation
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has condemned the federal government over its nonchalant attitude towards ending the fuel scarcity being experienced across the country.
He called for immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari as the minister of petroleum.
The governor, who reiterated his position that the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government was punishing Nigerians with fuel scarcity so as to achieve its planned increment of petrol pump price from N145 to not less than N185 per litre, added that; “Already, fuel is being sold officially at between N180 and N200 at petrol stations across the country.”
In a release issued on Friday, Governor Fayose’s Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, quoted him as saying that “It is sad that this Buhari’s APC government had to choose this Christmas and New Year period to ground Nigeria with the fuel scarcity that it deliberately orchestrated.”
The governor called for the immediate resignation of President Buhari as the Minister of Petroleum, noting that “it is obvious that the president has failed in all ramifications and he needs to do Nigerians a favour by relinquishing the portfolio of minister of petroleum.”
Governor Fayose said; “Like I said a few days ago, what the federal government is doing is to create scarcity so that Nigerians will be willing to buy at any price, provided the product is made available.
“It was to achieve this planned increment of petrol pump price that they restricted supply of petrol to NNPC alone.”
The governor, who sympathized with Nigerians for the hardship they are being made to go through by the APC government, said; “I warned Nigerians before President Buhari was elected and I am telling Nigerians now that the only option to rescue our country from being brought down completely is to vote out Buhari and his APC in 2019.”

Buhari paid Boko Haram €3m for release of Chibok girls — Report
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-24-2017, 06:58 PM - No Replies

The Federal Government paid € 3 m for the release of some Chibok schoolgirls who were in Boko Haram custody , according to Wall Street Journal.
In 2014 , Boko Haram insurgents had kidnapped 276 girls from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state.
Of the 276 , 163 are now free: 57 fled in the early days after their abduction , three escaped later , and a Swiss- coached mediation secured 103 .
Twenty- one of the 103 were freed on October 13 , 2016, while the remaining 82 were freed on May 6 this year .
In a detailed report on the incident , WSJ said while € 1 m was paid for the 21 first freed , additional € 2 m accompanied the five Boko Haram commanders that were exchanged with the next batch: the 82 girls .
TheCable had earlier reported how the € 2 m were reportedly paid .
Ahmad Salkida , a journalist known to have links with the sect, and Zannah Mustapha, a lawyer, were said to be key mediators involved in both deals .
After months of talks involving Salkida and Mustapha, a breakthrough was finally reached when in late 2016 , both parties agreed on a plan concerning the girls ’ freedom .
WSJ said: “ The plan called for two exchanges. In the first one , Boko Haram would free 20 Chibok hostages in exchange for € 1 m .
“If both sides were satisfied with the outcome, the rest of the girls who wanted to come home would be swapped in a second exchange in return for € 2 and five imprisoned Boko Haram commanders .”
“As Mustapha worked through the details and tried to maintain the confidence of both sides , the Nigerian government began the delicate process of finding prisoners Shekau would deem acceptable .
“Salkida was the man picked for the task . He began to crisscross Nigeria combing jails and interviewing inmates , looking for militants who fit the profile .”
The report added that while the deal began coming together , there were fears that President Muhammdu Buhari might not approve of it.
“The President was eager for a victory . He also loathed the idea of paying Boko Haram. No one knew if he would sign off,” it said.
“In the end, he approved the deal, with a condition : He insisted that any money that reached Boko Haram would be a step toward a comprehensive peace agreement.
“Since the insurgents collected their € 3 m , some Nigerian officials say an army that had struggled to feed itself seems replenished,” it stated .
TheCable stated that it was not able to independently verify the claims concerning the payment .
When contacted , Femi Adesina , Buhari ’s spokesman , neither confirmed nor denied the claims. http://punchng.com/buhari-paid-boko-hara...ls-report/

Despite #fuelscarcity, Life Must Continue - Femi Adesina
User Avatar Forum: Politics

The Presidency has reacted to comments over its decision to air a documentary on President Muhammadu Buhari at a time most Nigerians are groaning with pains over the fuel scarcity the country.

The fuel scarcity across the country has grounded businesses and offices leading to over 100 per cent increase in price from the official N145 per litre.

In a statement on Sunday, Femi Adesina, President Buhari’s spokesperson, said the Presidency was aware of the complaints by Nigerians of the timing of the documentary, but that it will proceed with airing the documentary on “The Human Side of Buhari”.

Read the full statement by Femi Adesina below:

Quote:THE BUHARI DOCUMENTARY: WHY WE’RE AIRING NOW

I have read a lot of reactions, particularly online, on the timing of the airing of the documentary on President Muhammadu Buhari, slated for December 24 and 25, 2017, respectively, by 8 p.m. on NTA and Channels Television.

Some of the comments are borne out of genuine concern, which we appreciate, while others are virulent, coming from inveterate complainers. Fault finding is the stock-in-trade of such people, and if they mistakenly find themselves in Heaven, they would even complain against God. They have no other pastime.

The reactions mainly dwell on the fact that a documentary showing the human side of the President (as against the well-known iron and steel) is coming at a time there is severe fuel scarcity in the country. And I say, why not? Is life all about doom and gloom? Must we sit in ashes and wear sackcloth perpetually, and ignore the brighter side of life? God forbid!

The current fuel crisis is a combination of snafu (Situation Normal All Fouled Up) in the distribution process of petrol (which the NNPC admitted at the onset of the problem), and deliberate mischief and sabotage by some marketers, who want to force the hands of government to increase the pump price. Then, the situation is further compounded by hoarding of products, and panic buying. And government is working round the clock to restore normalcy, which will come in a matter of time.

Should we then be perpetually like King Lear at his worst, and consign ourselves to the doldrums occasioned by fuel scarcity at a festive period? No. Despite the temporal pains, life must continue, and we must look at the cheery side, while government works hard to bring succour.

That is why I disagree with armchair critics, who wail at the drop of a hat. Millions of Nigerians appreciate President Buhari, love him passionately, and would watch the airing of the documentary, which shows the President in a perspective not very well known before.

It’s a spice for the holiday season, and not even ephemeral fuel crisis would dampen the enthusiasm of positive minded Nigerians.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*THE WORD IN OUR HEARTS .*

Sunday, December 24th .
*Pastor Chris*

_*For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).*_

The Lord Jesus is the Light of the world. He’s the Light that shines in darkness, and the Bible says the darkness comprehends it not (John 1:5). This same Light, according to our opening verse, has shined in our hearts, to give us light of the knowledge of the glory of God. What does this mean?

The Word of God is light (Psalm 119:105); that light is in our hearts. That means no more darkness, no more confusion, and no more uncertainties in your life. There’s direction and purpose for your life, because you have the light of life: _*“…I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”*_ (John 8:12).

The eyes of your understanding have been flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which God has called you, and grasp the immensity of His glorious inheritance for you. Because the Word was born, and now lives in your heart, you can boldly declare that the life of God is in you; the strength of God is in you; you’re a success and a victor forever.

Apart from being light, the Word is also truth: _*“…thy word is truth”*_ (John 17:17). The truth lives in you. Oh, such glorious news! The truth is His light; the truth is His Word, and you’re walking in the truth. The truth is that you’re of God, and have overcome Satan, the world, and its systems. Greater is He that’s in you than he that’s in the world.

The truth is that you’ve arrived in the place called “Christ”, where sickness, disease and infirmity have lost their grip on you. Because you’re one with the Word, you’ve overcome diabetes; you’ve overcome heart trouble, chest pain, cancer, etc. No tumour; no fibroid; nothing of darkness can thrive in your body anymore, because your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; He lives in every fibre of your being. Hallelujah! This is part of the joy we celebrate at Christmas—the Word in our hearts, and its power in our lives!

*PRAYER*

*Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus. He lives in me in His fullness, and in Him I live, move and have my being. No challenge is big enough to weigh me down because I’m born of God and complete in Christ. I’m alive to God—spirit, soul, and body. There’re no impossibilities with me, for Christ is my sufficiency. Hallelujah!*

I affirm that the Word of God is building me strong every day. I am growing in grace and in the knowledge of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. All things are possible unto mey because my faith in the Word is effective. My spirit is open to receive instructions, correction, and reproved by the Word. As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants after the Word of God. Hallelujah!

I am not where I used to be, God's Word has gained the dominion in my spirit, soul, and body. Like the patriots of faith, the Word of God has made me a wonder to my generation. Hallelujah!

I am not moved by what I see, feel or hear; I am only moved by the Word of God. I am living in divine health always.   Paris Club Refund: Strike, Protests Loom In States Over Unpaid Salary Arrears
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-23-2017, 07:54 PM - No Replies

There are indications that workers in some states in the country will soon embark on demonstrations or strike action over unpaid salary arrears in their respective states .
A trustee of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees , Mr. Fatai Ibrahim , on Friday said NULGE would engage in demonstrations , work to rule and even strike action in states where the governors failed to remit to the local governments their share of the expected last tranche of the Paris Club refund .
Speaking in Ilorin , the Kwara State capital , during a media briefing by the state branch of NULGE, Ibrahim added that the union would engage governors of the states that fail to remit the funds to the local government , adding that where the engagements , negotiations and dialogue fail, the union would embark on strike action to get the governors accede to the workers’ demands .
Also , the state Chairman of NULGE, Alhaji Salihu Yusuf , has urged Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to ensure that the share of the local governments was paid to them when the state gets the final tranche of the Paris Club refund . He also stressed that the payment of some of the arrears being owed them would greatly alleviate their plight.
He said , “The Kwara State Governor has been saying that local governments will not benefit from the expected Paris Club refund and that we should not be expecting that arrears of salaries being owed workers in various local governments across the state would be paid from the Paris Club refunds .
“ Other states are declaring certain percentages in favour of their local governments, why should Kwara State be an exception ?”
He also urged the state House of Assembly to vote in favour of local government autonomy to create genuine development at the grass roots, adding that the governor should not wait until all LG workers were dead due to poverty and hardship before he came to their aid .
He also said the payment of junior secondary school teachers ’ salaries from the local government allocation through the Joint Account Allocation Committee was responsible for the about 10 months ’ arrears of salaries in local governments, adding that the local governments should be freed from that burden .
But the governor, while responding, said the state had accessed 50 per cent of the refund , adding that arrangement was on to end salary crisis in the 16 local government areas of the state.
He said he had met with the local government chairmen with the aim of identifying their problems and finding possible solutions to them.
He said , “What we are doing is to find a permanent solution to the problem . Giving them funds to clear the backlog of salaries is not the solution , but to find the means of improving their revenue base because of the continued drop in federal allocation . ”
Meanwhile , the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Kwara State has given the state government an ultimatum to address some lingering labour issues in the state before December 31 , 2017 , or else the union would not guarantee the resumption of teachers when schools resume on January 8 , 2018 .
The teachers , in a communiqué after the meeting of the state executive council , on Friday, stated that the labour issues bordered mainly on the payment of salary arrears , the position of the state government not to use the Paris Club refund to offset the salary arrears of its members as earlier pledged , allegedly , at different forums and refusal to implement promotion arrears with its attendant financial backing from 2015 till date .
The communiqué , signed by the state NUT Chairman , Alhaji Musa Abubakar , and the state NUT Secretary, Mr. Ola Idris , partly read, “In view of these , the House resolved that these issues must immediately be addressed before the end of 2017 , otherwise , the union cannot guarantee resumption of our members on January 8 , 2018 .
But the state government has urged the teachers to embrace dialogue , adding that strike was never a good way to address industrial issues .
The Commissioner for Information , Mr. Babatunde Ajeigbe , in an interview with journalists , stated that the governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed , was deeply concerned and committed to the welfare of the residents of the state , including teachers , saying the outstanding payment due to the drop in federal allocation.

Aisha Yesufu Blasts President Buhari Over Fuel Scarcity, Failed Economy
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-23-2017, 04:01 PM - No Replies

Quote:Aisha Yesufu Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls Group has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari over his ill performance as a president.

Aisha who made reference to Buhari’s tweet in 2015 blaming former President Goodluck Jonathan for fuel crisis called him a hypocrite

“Dear President Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari your tweet below says it all about your hypocritical stand.

“Your tears, words, tweets were never about Nigeria but about your need to come & enjoy the perks of power.

“You have failed as the Minister of Petroleum & more so as the President. She tweeted

The BBOG co-convener said the president has failed as a minister of petroleum for turning deaf ear to the lingering fuel crisis situation officially.

According to her, President Buhari is swayed by power therefore ‘lacking in wisdom, integrity and values despite his age.’

“What type of President are you? You have not had the decency to address the Nation on the crippling effect of the fuel scarcity that many are suffering. You may have Kano people in your pocket you sure dont have the rest of us there.

“At your age one would have expected you have seen it all and not be swayed by the temporary insanity of power but alas age does not mean wisdom, integrity, values and character.

“So what has happened now that is different from 2nd March 2015 when you made that tweet during fuel scarcity? That you became President? What a shame! Power that is transient? Somebody was there before you and somebody would be there after you. What’s the big deal

“People are suffering and all that concerns you is the fawning you get and revel in the access to Presidential jets and pictures of you in overcoat with your incompetent sycophants toeing the line

“I don’t blame you i blame the timid, docile and irresponsible citizens of Nigeria that would fight themselves on the queues at the filling station instead of coming to Aso villa to fight you. Shamefully I am one of the citizenry. Be warned one day we would no longer take it!

“Your impunity and arrogance of treating the people of Nigeria with disdain would definitely come back and haunt you when you see yourself alone without the sycophants

“Lee Kuan Yew is your mate. Nelson Mandela is your mate. They spent their years as leaders thinking about the next generation and building legacy. You are spending your time thinking about the next election while enjoying bagpipes and ceremonial welcome. What a waste!

“Nigerians cried over killings and molestation by @PoliceNG you turned deaf ears. Fuel scarcity you equally have turned deaf ears. We are counting! We would remember! Its a debt we would not forget. Our day to turn deaf ears too would come God willing!
“Mr President the first thing you should do about this fuel scarcity is to fire yourself as Minister of Petroleum and get a competent hand to be one, that’s if you would recognise competence even if it hits you in the face! she added.

*THE WORD SIRRCCO
Saturday , December 23, 2017

Theme: *Fight For Your Families

Topic: *Beware of Intimidators*

Scripture Reading: *1 Samuel 17:4-11; 48-52*

*Main Text*
_1 Samuel 17:11_
_When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid._

The Philistine sprit is an intimidator. It discourages you in order to put your dreams beyond your reach. It puts fear into you and makes you run away from the battle. In a battle with Israel, the Philistines put forward a giant champion by name Goliath and challenged Israel to present their champion. holiday intimidated the Israelites and caused them to run into hiding (1 Samuel 17:10-11).

The Israelites knew of Goliath before going into the battle (1 Samuel 17:33). His exploits of war since his youth did not intimidate them. What Israel knew about Goliath did not intimidate them. They got intimidated when he spoke out, and projected his god while blaspheming Jehovah. Intimidators flourish in environments where God is not glorified.

As Israel was terrified, a man of worship called David, appeared on the scene. He generated courage amongst the Israelites, and challenged the Goliath by telling what God had done and would do in his life. David slew Goliath and the army of Israel pursued the Philistines and gathered the booty. The people of Israel overcame Goliath’s intimidation because one man offered to challenge him. May you receive the David kind of courage to destroy the "Goliaths".

*Prayer:*
1. Pray and glorify God above anything that is intimidating you.
2. Pray for the courage to intimidate the intimidator.

SATURDAY, 23RD DECEMBER.

TOPIC ✨ KNOWING AND ENJOYING YOUR INHERITANCE✨

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (1 Corinthians 2:12).

1 Corinthians 3:21 says, “...All things are yours.” It doesn’t get clearer or more direct than that. 2 Peter 1:3 emphasises the same reality. It says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness….” There’s nothing you need today that isn’t already made available to you in Christ.

However, there’s no way you can appropriate the blessings of God to your life if you don’t know the Word. Through the Word, you discover your inheritance; but there’s more. It’s one thing to discover your inheritance, it’s another thing to enjoy it; and that’s where the Holy Spirit comes in. Weread in our opening verse, part of His ministry in our lives: He helps us know our divine endowments; things that have been given to us freely by God.

Then, the ensuing verse thirteen says, “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth…” (1 Corinthians 2:13). Did you notice that? He helps us know, and teaches us to speak what we know. That’s the key to enjoying your inheritance. The affirmation of it makes it real. Life in its fullness, fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, righteousness, peace, divine healing and health, prosperity, forgiveness, etc., are some of God’s glorious blessings given to you to enjoy freely; speak them forth.

Philemon 1:6 says, “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Acknowledging the good things in you doesn’t mean a passive recognition of the blessings you have in Christ. Rather, it means to recognise and affirm your blessings and heritage in Christ. It means to recognise and vocalise all that you are, all that you have, and all that you can do in Christ. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Precious Holy Spirit, I love you; thank you for helping me recognize your wonderful blessings in my life, and teaching me how to enjoy them! Life in its fullness, fellowship with the Father and with the Son Jesus Christ, righteousness, divine healing peace, and health, prosperity, a life of glory and excellence are present-hour all possessions, Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

No Fuel Scarcity, Stakeholders Just Hoarding Products - APC Says
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-22-2017, 09:55 PM - No Replies

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS) is artificial.
In a tweet on Friday, the ruling party blamed the unavailability of petroleum products on ” some stakeholders hoarding allocated products”.
It, however, regretted any inconvenience the scarcity might have brought Nigerians, saying relevant agencies were working on the issue.
“There’s no ‘actual scarcity’. Just some stakeholders hoarding allocated products in order to cause artificial scarcity + panic buying, for their own selfish interests,” the tweet read.
“However, it’s unaccountable, even as relevant authorities are on the matter. Any inconvenience is regretted.”
The return of fuel queues has entered its third week. Nigerians have taken to social media to lament the inconvenience.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has promised that the queues would end this week.

Four Million Nigerians Became Jobless In 2017 - National Bureau Of Statistics

Between January and September this year, a total number of 4.07 million Nigerians became unemployed, an analysis of the unemployment report for the third quarter released by the National Bureau of Statistics has revealed.
The bureau in the report, made available to our correspondent on Friday, stated that the number of Nigerians that became unemployed rose from 11.92 million in the first quarter of this year to 13.58 million and 15.99 million in the second and third quarters respectively.
It said between the second quarter and third quarter, the number of economically active or working age population (15 – 64 years of age) increased from 110.3 million to 111.1 million.
The NBS report said the increasing unemployment and underemployment rates imply that although Nigeria’s economy is officially out of recession, domestic labor market is still fragile and economic growths in the past two quarters in 2017 have not been strong enough to provide employment in Nigeria’s domestic labor market.
It reads in part, “The labor force population increased from 83.9 million in Q2 2017 to 85.1 million in Q3 2017. The total number of people in full-time employment (at least 40 hours a week) declined from 52.7 million in Q2 2017 to 51.1 million in Q3 2017.
“The unemployment rate increased from 14.2 per cent in Q4 2016 to 16.2 per cent in Q2 2017 and 18.8 per cent in Q3 2017.
“The number of people within the labor force who are unemployed or underemployed increased from 13.6 million and 17.7 million respectively in Q2 2017, to 15.9 million and 18.0 million in Q3 2017.
“Total unemployment and underemployment combined increased from 37.2 per cent in the previous quarter to 40 per cent in Q3 2017.”
It said during the third quarter of this year, 21.2 per cent of women within the labor force that were between the ages of 15 years and 64 years and willing, able, and actively seeking work were unemployed, compared with 16.5 per cent of men within the same period.
The NBS noted in the report that in the third quarter of this year,16.4 per cent of rural and 23.4 per cent of urban dwellers within the labor force were unemployed. It added that the rate of unemployment is increasing at a slightly faster rate for urban dwellers than it was for their rural counterparts.

Selena Gomez and her mum Mandy Teefy have unfollowed each other on Instagram after it was reported they had rowed over her rekindled romance with Justin Bieber.
On Tuesday eagle-eyed fans noticed that mum and daughter were no longer following each other, sparking further rumours of a fall out.

Earlier TMZ had reported that Mandy was admitted to hospital due to a huge argument with
Selena over the Baby singer.
But People magazine later shot down the report, saying she was voluntarily checked out by medical staff last week. A source close to the family told the publication: “It’s been a stressful time for Mandy and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital and make sure everything was okay.
“This wasn’t just about Justin Bieber.”
[Image: justin%2Bbieber.jpg]A Selena source added: “It’s true her family doesn’t approve of Justin, but this wasn’t just over a fight about him.”
While an insider close to Justin said he wasn't trying to harm Selena and her mum's relationship. They told the publication: “Justin knows Selena’s family is not happy about her dating him.
“He has known for a long time. But he is adamant that he has changed and is a better boyfriend now.

My Face Is Burning!' Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves Says As He Shows Off Results Of His Chemical Skin Peel (Photos)
Brazilian Surgery addict, Rodrigo Alves, 34, popularly known as Human Ken Doll has undergone another procedure to help him look ageless.
He went through a chemical skin peel procedure that involves applying an acid-containing lotion to the face, letting it soak through and then peeling off the old skin to reveal fresh new skin in its place.
[Image: 5a3b85032da83.jpg]Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Rodrigo said: 'It was fairly painful, and my face looks red now. It feels like burning! Here in Marbella is very sunny and I can’t go out for the next few days unless I have a lot of sun protection!
'In 2018, I’m turning 35 and my quest has never been to look perfect but to look ageless. Due to the lights from the TV studios and the make-up, my skin has been looking rough, but this treatment will make my skin look finer and younger.'
He added: 'I would never let myself go and no one will ever see any wrinkle on my face. Some men think that only going to the gym and looking muscular is enough. I believe that men should also look after their faces with night cream and make-up just like I do.
'Taking pride in your appearance is loving yourself.'
Earlier this month, Rodrigo revealed plans to have six ribs removed in what would have be his 60th cosmetic procedure, but it's yet to be done as doctors feared his lungs would collapse.

7 Lessons In Hygiene Some Women Need To Learn

7 Lessons In Hygiene Some Women Need To Learn
[Image: HYGIENE.jpg]
It sometimes comes as a surprise when a woman passes by you and you cannot help but wonder when she last took a shower. The concoction of smells that emerge from some people is reason enough to spoil your day and even postpone your lunch.

It might not be common knowledge to everyone but hygiene is something you CANNOT live without.

I will tell you this; lack of hygiene exposes you to germs, bacteria, and illnesses. Most importantly, do not start wondering why family, loved ones, and even strangers never want to be near you when you cannot stay clean. There are things that you cannot take for granted when it comes to hygiene.

Here are the 7 lessons in hygiene some women takes for granted:

1. Wash your face.

Washing your face helps your skin glow and also prevents the formation of white heads and blackheads. You need to know if your face is sensitive to different types of soaps or not. Some people need to use clean warm water without soap and others need soap. It’s always best to use mild soap. Ensure to wash your face every morning.

2. Wash your hands after visiting the toilet.

It annoys me how some people take this little fact for granted. It’s hygienic to wash your hands after visiting the toilet. Washing your hands prevents you from common illnesses such as amoeba and cholera.

If you want to know how bad it is, just think about how many times you have had amoeba after visiting a restaurant. I once saw a chef getting his trouser unstuck from his butt crack as I passed by the kitchen. Let’s just say I did not even sit down to order. Amoeba is actually caused by faeces.

3. Brushing your teeth.

Brush your teeth every day. Do you need to be told this? A clean mouth is the beginning of a beautiful smile. Failure to do so can lead to dental caries, bacteria lodging in your throat, tartar, and other common problems.

4. Shower after a workout.

Sweat feels itchy and uncomfortable. Ensure to take a shower after a rigorous workout. There is always that temptation to slack on the couch because of fatigue but it is wrong.

5. Clean off your makeup at the end of the day.

Sleeping with makeup is the worst habit you can adopt. Make up can cause your skin to break and form black heads.

To give your skin a flawless look the next day, just remove all your make up.

6. Keep your hair neat.

Grooming is important because first impressions are everything. Take care of your hair by oiling or alternatively, get a hairstyle that is easy to maintain.

7. Trim your nails.

Trimming your nails prevents your nails from picking up dirt and fungus. Ensure that your nails are of manageable height and always wash them thoroughly with every hand wash.

Badoo Strikes Again, Kills Man, Son, Sister-In-Law, Injures Wife
[Image: badoo.jpg]
The callous ritual cult group, "BADOO" has again unleashed terror on a family in Itesiwaju Community Development Area, Ibeshe, Ikorodu, killing a man, his son and sister-in-law and injuring his wife.

The man’s wife reportedly sustained serious injuries and was said to have been admitted to the Ikorodu General Hospital.

According to Punchng, the victims were found dead in the apartment on Thursday morning by one of the couple’s children who was on a visit.

Although the names of the victims had yet to be ascertained, the family was identified as the Aros.

A resident of a neighbouring community, who gave his name only as Israel, told our correspondent that the assailants gained entry into the apartment by tearing the window net.

He said, “I learnt about the incident this morning (Thursday) and I went to the area. There was no burglar proof bar on the windows of the family’s apartment.

“The man, his son and his wife’s younger sister were found in a pool of blood. The wife survived but she was in a critical condition. The sister-in-law had visited them. I was told that it was the couple’s daughter who also visited this morning (Thursday) that raised the alarm.

“The sight of the deceased was very gory. From all indications, the attack was perpetrated by Badoo members.”

It was learnt that the incident was reported to the police at the Ipakodo Police Division, who removed the corpses.

Another source told our correspondent that residents would convene a meeting on Friday (today) to discuss the security issues in the neighbourhood.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, did not pick calls made to his line and had yet to reply to a text message sent to him on the incident.

Meghan Markle Goes Full British Fashion for Engagement Photos
[Image: Meghan%2BMarkle%2BAND%2BP.jpg]
According to TMZ, Meghan Markle's clothing choices for the engagement photos with Prince Harry scream one thing ... "Peace out, America. I'm a princess now, b*tches!"

According to the palace, that gown she's draped in for those engagement pics with Prince Harry was made by British couture house, Ralph & Russo. It's from their fall 2016 line -- black tulle gown, embroidered gold feather thread work .. the works -- and costs about £56,000.

That's about $75k in this country, where Meghan used to live.

Her white sweater is also British -- cashmere by Victoria Beckham for £690 ... $920 to us, the forgotten people.

Harry's wearing Burberry, but ... nobody cares.

Kia Motors Nigeria has recorded increased sales in 2017 with over 200 per cent year-on-year sales from 2016.Besides, the company said it is set to triple its sales in 2018 with a sustained comprehensive business strategy.

According to the company, the increased sales followed the country’s economic recovery from the recession that had hitherto stagnated all the sectors of the economy particularly, car sales in 2016. The business strategy and the extensive customer-based sales and service programs broke the ice and paved way for a record high year-on-year sales.

Chief Executive Officer, Kia Motors Nigeria, Jacky Hathiramani, said: “With our strategic business propositions, we are set to triple sales by expanding our units in operations (UIO) with increased new sales in the in the year 2018,” said.Speaking on the increased sale, Jacky alluded said Kia had always stay ahead of the curve with the top of the segment cars that have low maintenance costs and are affordable to the customers.

It will be recalled that there was an offshoot in the prices of products across all sectors of the economy amidst low buying power; however, Jacky maintained that Kia’s commitment to offering highly competitive pricing on its models played a major role in the record sales. He said the automobile company is poised to sustain the sales growth by introducing new models to the market and offering a highly competitive pricing on all their models.

Jacky said he’s confident that the second half of 2017 (2H17)’s sales momentum can be sustained into the 1H18, and this would help the company achieve better results over last year. “There’s an increased sale in the last six months compared with the same period last year. So, we project increased sales in 2018,”

Meanwhile, among the aggressive sales initiatives undertaken by the company in 2017 was Kia drive your dream and ember surprise promos. The company’s service promos also contributed immensely to the overall revenue for the company. The introduction of Kia double deal promo with over 15 per cent discount on both parts and labour recorded tremendous success and helped increase Kia brand confidence among customers. “These programmes increased our customer retention and loyalty towards the brand,” Jacky said.

He added that the company is set to introduce new models in the year 2018, headlining these models will be the world adjudged best-in-class luxury sedan, Kia Stinger, the B-Segment leader, SC Kia Rio and newly refreshed Kia Cerato amongst others.

On the general low stock level pervading the industry, he said the company was currently facing a high back order for some models, and was looking forward to assembling the cars at its plant in Lagos, Nigeria before the year-end.

It will be recalled that Kia Motors Nigeria began its local production in the wake of the implementation of the auto policy in 2014. The company built an ultra-modern assembly plant in Lagos with a capacity to produce 27,000 units of vehicles per annum.

Locally producing cars to the exact standard of Kia Motors Corporations in Korea, Kia Motors Nigeria currently produces the cars locally and the 2018 Kia Rio in addition to the recently launched Sorento, Sportage and Optima are produced in its plant in Lagos.
