RLX Male Enhancement  Right here's why. Sensitive, fragile cells there are two approaches to thoroughly wash a body part: scrubbing and medicating. Each may be definitely awful for sensitive cells. As an example, a man who desires to scrub his frame would possibly choose up a scented, antibacterial cleaning soap and observe a squirt of the stuff onto a washcloth or a rag. Next, he'll get moist and use that tough material to rub the soap into his pores and skin, wiping away dust and lifeless pores and skin cells, and he will then rinse off that cleaning soap with hot water.

A Federal High Court which sat in Owerri today December 6, ordered the final forfeiture of a N1.5 Billion state-of-the-art 200-bed hospital traced to an aide of former Governor of Imo State and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district, Rochas Okorocha.

Justice T.G Ringin ordered the final forfeiture of the hospital after Pascal Obi, now a serving member of the house of representatives denied ownership of the medical facility. The application for interim forfeiture was triggered by evidence that the facility may have been acquired through proceeds of illicit activities, as funds from Government House, Owerri were traced to the hospital.

It was further gathered Paschal Obi, former permanent secretary and principal secretary to Okorocha was a signatory to some of the accounts linked to the hospital.

Quote:EFCC's statement read in parts “These developments led the Commission to file for the forefeiture of the property on July 25, 2019 under Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud, and Other Related Offences Act 2006,” Uwujaren said in a statement.
“In granting the request for the interim forfeiture of the property, the court ordered the anti-graft agency to publish the Order in a national newspaper, which was accordingly complied with in the Nation Newspaper of August 30, 2019 and Leadership Newspaper of September 3,2019 respectively, asking interested parties to show cause why the property should not be forfeited to the federal government within fourteen days from the dates of the publications.
“Upon the expiration of the fourteen day notice and with no one showing interest in the hospital, the Commission filed for the final forfeiture of the facility.”

Pensacola Shooting: Saudi student opens fire at US naval base

Three people were killed on Friday morning as an aviation student from Saudi Arabia opened fire in a classroom at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida.

The shooting which has been condemned by Saudi government also left many others injured including two sheriff's deputies who engaged the shooter. Though the attacker was killed by a Sheriff's deputy, U.S. officials are now investigating for possible links to terrorism.

Quote:"Walking through the crime scene was like being on the set of a movie," said Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan.

One of the police officers who responded was shot in the arm and the other in the knee, they are both expected to recover.

The shooter was a member of the Saudi military who was in aviation training at the base, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a news conference. He has been identified as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani.

Quote:"There's obviously going to be a lot of questions about this individual being a foreign national, being a part of the Saudi air force and then to be here training on our soil," said the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis.
"Obviously the government of Saudi Arabia needs to make things better for these victims and I think they're going to owe a debt here, given that this was one of their individuals," he added.

The Pentagon told CBS News that the shooter had been in the country since August 2017 pursuant to a U.S. Air Force Foreign Military Sales training case funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and that he was scheduled to stay until August 2020. He was enrolled in English, basic aviation, and initial pilot training at the station, the Pentagon added.

According to its website the naval airbase, which is still in lockdown, employs more than 16,000 military and 7,400 civilian personnel.

Quote:“There are many reports circulating, but the FBI deals only in facts,” said Rachel L. Rojas, the FBI’s special agent in charge of the Jacksonville Field Office. “This is still very much an active and ongoing investigation.”

President Donald Trump declined to say whether the shooting was terrorism-related. Trump tweeted his condolences to the families of the victims and noted that he had received a phone call from Saudi King Salman.

Quote:He said the king told him that “the Saudi people are greatly angered by the barbaric actions of the shooter, and that this person in no way shape or form represents the feelings of the Saudi people who love the American people.”

Father of 15 allegedly chains and drags daughter through the streets for missing school

Dahiru Inusa, a 56-year-old father of 15 children has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly chaining and dragging his 15- year-old daughter through the streets in Lafia, Nasarawa State's capital.

The man who was arrested at Bukan-Sidi area of Lafia on Wednesday December 4, said he was trying to tame his daughter who became wayward and refused going to school.

The NSCDC commandant in the state, Mr Muhammad Mahmoud-Fari said the suspect will be charged to court for attempted murder, child abuse and torture.

Quote:He said, “This is a case of a father chaining and dragging his biological daughter on the street in the name of instilling discipline in her. We all must join hands to fight this menace in our society.
“Just yesterday (Thursday), we had the case of a 75- year-old man who defiled a three-year-old child.”

Inusa admitted committing the offence but said it was a mistake. He alleged that his daughter was fond of absconding from school and associating with bad friends.

Quote:He said, “I was angered by the fact that some girls were influencing her negatively and it was the anger that pushed me into making the mistake of putting her in chains. I was only trying to make her take me to her friends and not to harm her. I am begging my daughter and the government to forgive me.”

Amnesty International invites International Criminal Court to immediately begin an investigation into crimes being committed by the Nigeria Government

Amnesty International has invited the International Criminal Court to immediately begin an investigation into crimes being committed by the Nigeria Government.

Amnesty International while reacting to the publication of the annual report of the Prosecutor of the ICC on preliminary examinations, which sets out the work of the ICC over the last year looking at countries around the world where crimes may have been committed to decide whether to open investigations, Netsanet Belay, Amnesty International’s Research and Advocacy Director, said that an ICC investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the conflict in North-East Nigeria is now inevitable.

The ICC had released its 2019 report on preliminary examinations. The ICC prosecutor said it is losing patience with the failure of the Nigerian Government to investigate and prosecute those responsible for crimes committed by different insurgent groups in the country.
AI, stressing the need for investigation in Nigeria, lamented that the government was not keen on delivering justice.

Quote:Belay said, “The prosecutor has also confirmed that she will make a final decision in 2020 on whether to proceed to investigate specific crimes.
“Should Nigerian authorities fail to demonstrate tangible steps to fulfil their obligations, she will be bound to proceed towards a full investigation.
“Victims have been waiting for justice for over 10 years. Nigeria has already demonstrated that it is not willing to investigate and prosecute those responsible for heinous crimes committed by all parties to the conflict in the North-East.
“The ICC should have already launched an investigation but there can be no doubt that the time will come in 2020 for the ICC to step up to its role as the court of last resort.”

Sowore: Falana Tells NBA To Discipline Osinbajo, Other Lawyers In Cabinet
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-07-2019, 11:33 AM - No Replies

Ade Adesomoju, Abuja

Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), who leads Mr Omoyele Sowore’s defence team, has asked the Nigerian Bar Association to take disciplinary actions against lawyers in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet over what he described as desecration of the court with Sowore’s rearrest at the Federal High Court in Abuja, causing a disruption of court proceedings.

He said his legal team would meet on Saturday to determine the next line of action.

He said there were 10 lawyers with four of them Senior Advocates of Nigeria, who ought to live up to their oath to defend the Constitution and other laws of the country, by ensuring that the rule of law was observed by the government.

The SANs in the cabinet are Vice President Yemi Osinbajon (SAN), Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Minister of State for Labour, Mr Festus Keyamo; and Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola.

He said, “Even though President Muhammadu Buhari has a duty to caution the Department of State Services, the blame of the desecration of the court today (Friday) rests squarely on lawyers in government, who are under a duty to ensure that the rule of law is observed.

“They have all taken the oath to respect the Constitution and other laws of the country. That Constitution guarantees the independence and impartiality of the courts.

“They therefore cannot sit in a cabinet under a regime that terrorises the courts and subverts the rule of law.

“It is a matter the Nigerian Bar Association should take up against the lawyers in the cabinet by instituting disciplinary proceedings against them.”

Faulting the arrest of his client, he described it as contemptuous.

He also noted that it was not backed by any arrest warrant or detention order of court.

He said, “There is no warrant of arrest, there is no detention order. What the DSS did today was the height of contempt of court.

“Nobody is above the law. You either abolish the courts or allow them to function effectively.

“This is a situation where the DSS operatives invaded the court and forced the judge to adjourn proceedings; they chased the judge out of her court, disrupted the proceedings and forced the judge to adjourn all cases.

“These are manifestations of fascism, which cannot be accepted in any civilised society. This has never happened in Nigeria where you take over a court forcefully in order to arrest an unarmed citizen.

“You remember that it was the illegal invasion of the National Assembly by masked DSS men that led to the dismissal of the former DG, DSS, by this government.

“So for the same barbaric conduct to occur again is unacceptable. This is a regime that parades 10 senior lawyers, including four Senior Advocates of Nigeria.”

Asked if he had been informed of any reason why his client was rearrested or whether he was going to be freshly, he said “no”

Electricity metering gulps N11 billion in four states as MAP scheme drags

• EKDC, IKEDC keep mum over no of distributed meters

No less than N11 billion has been invested in metering electricity consumers in Kogi, Abuja, Nasarawa and Niger States as part of efforts to bridge the shortfall in metering gap and reduce estimated billing of consumers in the country.

The Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) scheme which was expected to commence in May, this year, continues to experience several bottlenecks as distribution companies drag its implementation.

When The Guardian reached out to operators with the largest distribution network, Eko Distribution Company and Ikeja Disco, on the number of meter installations recorded so far, no response was provided, despite consumer complaints about metering gaps in many parts of Lagos.

While the Distribution Companies across the country had signed a Performance – Agreement to ensure that the gap in metering is bridged, the practice of estimated billing remained a critical challenge in the sector, as the agreement which commenced 1st January, 2015 is due for review next month.

A report by PWC had indicated that although, the 11 DisCos committed to metering 1.75million customers yearly, the metering capacity of the DisCos has been constrained due to limited allowable capital expenditure (“CAPEX”) in the Multi-Year Tariff Order (“MYTO”).

The total annual CAPEX provision of N46.3 billion in the MYTO, according to PwC, if utilised wholly for metering, is insufficient to meet the DisCos’ yearly metering commitment, which is estimated at N52.5 billion yearly.

Statistics released by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) showed that between 2014 and 2018, the utility company provide 178,000 meters to its customers across its franchise areas, spending N11 billion.
This is coming few weeks after the House of Representatives seeks to criminalise estimated billing of electricity consumers by distribution companies.

While the Federal Government recently introduced a Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) scheme to bridge the metering gap, the AEDC noted that it has hit a 50,000 meter installation milestone within six months of the commencement of the regulation.

The statistics also indicated that the Disco had ordered for a total of 7,000 maximum demand and distribution transformer meters during the period at the cost of N1.7bn and installed 4,460 of them company-wide.
Mojec International is metering AEDC customers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Kogi; Turbo Energy is installing meters for AEDC customers in Niger State and Meron Company is installing meters for the customers in Nasarawa State.

The report shows that out of the verified 54,214 meter applications from customers under MAP, 49,285 meters have been installed and connected. It gave a breakdown of this MAP metering across its five regions in the FCT; Niger, Nasarawa and Kogi States.

The company installed 42,560 meters in the FCT, installed 11,208 meters in FCT West; 10,604 units in FCT South, and another 10,419 in FCT East. 6,256 meters were installed in FCT North and 4,073 units in FCT Central.

In Niger state, the DisCo installed 2,615 meters. Another 2,607 meters have been installed in Nasarawa State, and 1,503 units were installed in Kogi State, it stated.

Meters worth N3.634bn were installed in AEDC’s franchise area between 2014 and 2016, under the Credited Advance Payment for Metering Implementation (CAPMI), a regulation developed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

After CAPMI was wound off at the instance of NERC, “AEDC continued its obligation of providing meter for its customers to address the complaints of overbilling through the estimated billing methodology provided to DisCos by NERC.

“The DisCo invested N7.339bn on metering from 2016 to 2017. AEDC spent N10.742 billion on meters from 2014 to 2018 to demonstrate its investment focus and its capacity to turnaround the privatized power utility and give our customers the best experience and value for their money,” the group noted.

Desecration Of Court: Group Asks CJN To Bar Judges From DSS Cases
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-07-2019, 11:05 AM - No Replies

A human rights and good governance advocacy-led civil society, Make A Difference (MAD), has advised the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, to hands-off cases involving the Department of State Security Services (DSS). In a statement by the Advocacy and Communication Director of MAD, Lemmy Ughegbe, the group said the CJN needs to rise to the challenge and give the directive nationwide to help protect the sanctity of the court.

MAD condemned the action of the DSS in forcing a judge of an Abuja Federal High Court to scamper to her chambers while it effected the re-arrest of the convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant who were earlier granted bail by the court. Ughegbe said the action of the DSS in court on Friday surpassed the “draconianism of the darkest days of Nigeria’s military rule.”

“The gestapo invasion and desecration of the court by agents of the Department of State Security (DSS) is a sad and debasing testament of how deeply Nigeria and the people have retrogressed into darker ages worse even than the military era,” he said. “When law officers and security agents act with such barbaric impudence and insufferable arrogance as though they cannot be called to question for their action, one cannot but agree with those who say Nigeria is a zoo and we are hyenas, baboons and sundry animals in it.

“I challenge the Chief Justice of Nigeria to order the courts nationwide to suspend hearings of all cases brought by DSS until the deviant organisation purges itself of its sins and complies with all orders of courts issued against it.”

Three policemen, four personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and one maintenance staff attached to the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Bayelsa State Government House, Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown were on Thursday arrest over alleged involvement in the theft of N 3.5 million from the office.

The alleged theft, which reportedly occurred on Wednesday night, was discovered on Thursday morning with the safe where the cash was kept reportedly vandalised.

Sources close to the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff confirmed that the office where the money was kept, which had two entrances, was burgled.

It was gathered that the two entrances were guarded by policemen and many wondered how the bogglers had access to the cash.

It was gathered that the order for the arrest of the policemen on duty at the time of the theft, was ordered by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Uche Anozia.

Already, detectives from the department of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the State Police Command is investigating the incident.

A Government House source said that the theft of such a huge amount was shocking to the Deputy Chief of Staff and other officials of the State Government.

Attempts to get confirmation from the officials of the State Government proved abortive as they kept mum over the incident.

An official that spoke on the incident under anonymity, said that “only the policemen have been arrested because they were on duty at the time of the theft.”

Confirming the incident, SP Asinim Butswat

Police Public Relations Officer Bayelsa State Command, said: “On 5th December 2019, at about 0850 hours, the Command received a report of Burglary and Stealing in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Yenagoa.

“It was reported that the main entrance door to the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff was broken and the Safe inside the office was destroyed.

“The crime scene was visited by policemen and it was further revealed that the sum of Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira was stolen.

Global passenger traffic rises by 3.4% ahead of peak season

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) yesterday announced global passenger traffic data for October 2019, showing that demand climbed 3.4 per cent compared to the year-ago period. This was a modest slowdown from 3.9 percent growth recorded in September, owing to softer traffic performance in domestic markets. October capacity increased by 2.2 per cent and load factor climbed 0.9 percentage point to 82.0 per cent, which was a record for October.

IATA’s Director General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alexandre de Juniac, noted that traffic growth continued to be depressed compared to historical long-term growth levels, reflecting continued moderating economic activity in some key markets and sagging business confidence.
“However, the fact that traffic is growing is a positive, and the industry continues to do an excellent job of maximising asset efficiency, as shown in the record load factor,” de Juniac said.

October international passenger demand rose 3.2 percent compared to October 2018, unchanged from September’s year-over-year performance. With the exception of Latin America, all regions recorded increases, led by Middle East airlines for the first time since June 2018. Capacity climbed 1.6 percent, and load factor rose 1.3 percentage points to 81.0 percent.

African airlines’ traffic climbed 1.8 per cent in October, the same as in September. Economic slowdown in South Africa may have weighed on the recent moderation in demand growth. Capacity rose 3.6 percent, however, and load factor dipped 1.3 percentage points to 69.0 per cent.

Asia-Pacific airlines’ October traffic increased 3.8 per cent compared to the year-ago period, a bit below the 4.0 per cent annual growth recorded in September and well down on 2018 growth largely owing to weaker business confidence in a number of key markets, the impact of the US-China trade war and the recent disruptions in Hong Kong. Capacity rose 2.7 percent and load factor edged up 0.9 percentage point to 79.6 percent.

European carriers saw October demand climb 2.1 percent year-to-year, down from 3.2 percent growth in September. On a seasonally-adjusted basis traffic is showing a moderate upward trend despite generally soft economic activity in some of the key markets. Capacity rose 1.3 percent, and load factor climbed 0.7 percentage point to 85.7 percent, which was the highest among regions.

Middle Eastern airlines posted a 5.9 percent traffic increase in October, which was a sharp increase over the 1.8 percent growth seen in September and throughout the year. Capacity increased 0.3 percent, and load factor surged 3.9 percentage points to 73.5 percent.

North American carriers had the second highest international demand in October, with traffic up 4.1 percent compared to October a year ago and largely in-line with a 4.3 per cent annual increase in September. Growth is underpinned by a solid U.S. economy and robust consumer spending. Capacity rose 2.0 percent, and load factor grew by 1.6 percentage points to 82.1 percent.

“The airline industry has faced strong headwinds in 2019 but continues to enable the global connectivity that supports world trade and greater understanding among peoples and cultures, things we can definitely use more of, particularly in this time of trade wars and geopolitical tension. Next week, IATA will hold our annual Global Media Days, bringing together journalists and bloggers from around the world. We will present our updated economic forecast, and an in-depth look at our environmental activities among other subjects. I look forward to this opportunity to discuss and debate the key issues and initiatives facing commercial aviation with our colleagues in the media,” de Juniac said.

Oil demand to hit 110.6mb/d by 2040, says OPEC

[Image: OPEC.jpg]opec. Photo: REUTERS

•Prices rise as cartel, allies agree on 1.7mbpd output cuts

The organisation of the Petroleum Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC), said oil will continue to contribute the largest share in the energy mix with demand hitting 110.6 million barrel daily (mbd) by 2040. OPEC World Oil Outlook (WOO) released yesterday, also noted that total primary energy demand would expand by about 25 percent in the next 20 years.

“All forms of energies will be required in the future to help to meet expanding demand in a sustainable way, balancing the needs of people in relation to their social welfare, the economy and the environment,” OPEC said.

Meanwhile, prices of oil edged higher as OPEC and allies led by Russia, agreed to one of the deepest output cuts this decade to prevent oversupply in a deal that will apply for an unexpectedly short period of the first three months of 2020. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said a panel of energy ministers including Saudi Arabia and Russia had recommended OPEC+ deepen the cuts by 500,000 bpd. A cut of 1.7 million bpd would amount to 1.7% of global supply. In the afternoon of Thursday, Bonny Light hovered around $65 per barrel, Brent crude futures were up 21 cents, standing at  $63.21 a barrel.

The report also highlighted that natural gas will witness the largest demand growth in absolute terms, and renewables will see the largest growth in percentage terms. The demand for oil according to the group will be mainly driving by developing countries, particularly outside the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The oil cartel noted that non-OECD countries would demand growth by 21.4 million b/d by 2040 (compared to 2018), whereas the OECD region is expected to contract by 9.6 mb/d.“Long-term demand growth comes mainly from the petrochemicals, which would require 4.1 million b/d, road transportation; 2.9 million b/d and aviation, which would need 2.4 million b/d sectors.

The group also believes that total vehicle fleet, especially passenger and commercial vehicles would hit 2.4 billion by 2040, witnessing an estimated grow by more than 1 billion. Similarly, OPEC said the long-term share of electric vehicles in the total fleet would increase by 13 percent in 2040, predicating the forecast on falling battery costs and policy.

“Non-OPEC liquids supply is projected to grow by 9.9 million b/d between 2018 and 2024; the majority coming from U.S. tight oil, but from the mid-2020s non-OPEC sees a steady decline. Demand for OPEC liquids is projected to increase to around 44.4 million b/d in 2040, up from 36.6 mb/d in 2018.

“Crude distillation capacity additions of around 8 million b/d are expected between 2019 and 2024, with over 70 percent in the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. This is close to 50 percent of the total capacity additions required in the long-term to 2040. “Global crude oil and condensate trade is estimated to remain relatively static at around 38 million b/d between 2018 a

EZEKWESILI TO BUHARI, THE WORLD IS WATCHING YOUR BRUTAL VIOLATION OF SOWORE’S RIGHTS

Friday’s Sowore and DSS mega drama at the Federal High Court has the attention of the Nigerian communities and the global world with Oby Ezekwesili who is the Convener of Bring Back Our Girls campaign and a former Minister of Education has made her opinion heard on the humiliation and violation of Omoyele Sowore citizenship rights in Court today by the DSS.

Ezekwesili reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that the world at large was watching Sowore’s human right violation as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Ezekwesili reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that the world at large was watching Sowore’s human right violation as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Oby Ezekwesili’s message to Buhari;

“President Buhari, the whole world is watching the video of officials of the State Security Service which you directly supervise, brutally violate the constitutional rights of a citizen, Omoyele Sowore inside a court and desecrated our Judiciary- an independent arm of government.”

“Let it also be known by Buhari that the cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of the power he wields today as Nigeria President is alien to our Nigerian Constitution and International Law. I advise the President to cease this descent to fascism immediately and respect Court orders.”

“It is in the interest of Buhari that Sowore comes to no form of bodily, mental or emotional harm. As the supervisor of the State Security Service, I demand that the President instructs the DG to immediately comply with the court order . Release Sowore immediately.”

”I have just spoken to the incredible Femi Falana — SAN whose amazing and highly effective legal representation of citizen Sowore with a strong team of lawyers is the silver lining in this tragic case. I once again conveyed our abiding strong support and gratitude.”

“I urge my fellow citizens who are reasonable enough to know that today’s episode amounts to full aggression against the Judiciary by the Executive arm of Buhari and portends an extremely dangerous development. We must all stand to defend our hard won Democracy. We must.” She concluded.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 7TH DECEMBER.

UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIANITY

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).

There’re those who aren’t sure what Christianity really is. So, they suffer from an identity crisis, because they don’t know who they are. It’s the same reason some get sick and afflicted, always seeking medical attention. Now, someone may wonder, “Are you saying Christians aren’t supposed to be sick?”

Yes, Christians aren’t supposed to be sick! The Christian has eternal life, and that life is superior to sickness, decay, and death. It’s the same life that Jesus had when He walked the earth. Jesus was never sick. That same supernatural life, which is absolutely infection and disease-proof, is what He’s given to us. Hallelujah! Now you can further understand why He said in Mark 16:17-18, “These signs shall follow those who believe; if they drink anything deadly, they’ll not be hurt.” Jesus said so, and He never lied to anybody.

The Christian belongs in God’s class; he’s not a mere religious person. Christianity isn’t a religion at all; it’s the active life of God in a human being. Christianity is Christ alive in you; it’s a real relationship with the real and living Christ. In Christianity, the divine life of Jesus Christ is imparted to you; it’s a real experience. Christ took up His abode in you the instant you were born again.

When you really get to know this, every day of your life, you’ll be so full of joy! The Apostle Peter talked about the joy that we have and exude as Christians: it’s indescribable and full of glory. Why wouldn’t it be, when you were born to express and manifest the glory and righteousness of Christ? Why wouldn’t it be, when you’re joined to the Lord; inseparably one with Him?

How then could sickness, lack, discouragement, depression, be normal with you? Those are things that the people of the world suffer; but you’re different! Philippians 2:12 says, “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Make your Christianity real by “living” it. The Word won’t work until you work it. You’re the one to work things out, by His power working in you. Take a hold of the Word, and live by it, and your life will be excellent and full of glory.

CONFESSION

Christ is alive in me! I’m not ordinary, for I’ve been called into the fellowship of the God-kind. Therefore, every day, I manifest the pulsating life of Christ, exercising dominion over sickness, disease, failure, lack and everything that’s of the devil! Hallelujah!

Sowore: I apologize for underestimating the DSS capacity for the unthinkable - Wole Soyinka

Prof. Wole Soyinka has called out President Buhari over the re-arrest of Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare at the Federal High Court, Abuja by the Department of State Services, DSS.

Soyinka said it had become imperative and urgent to send message to “President-General Buhari: Rein in your wild dogs of disobedience. And for a start, get a trainer to teach them some basic court manners!”

Soyinka, in a statement today likened the scene leading to the arrest of Sowore and Bakare in the court premises to that of an African Wild Dog. According to Soyinka, he was amazed by the level of disobedience to court’s order by the present government of Buhari.

Quote:“A few years ago, I watched the video of a pack of the famed African wild dogs hunt, eventually bring down, and proceed to devour a quarry. It was an impala, antelope family.
The pack isolated the most vulnerable looking member of the herd it was pregnant pursued it, until it fled to a waterhole which, for such animals, is the nearest thing to a sanctuary.
“A few minutes ago, almost as it was happening, I watched the video of a pack of the DSS, bring down, and fight over their unarmed, totally defenceless quarry within the sanctuary of a court of law.
I found little or no difference between the two scenarios, except that the former, the wild dogs, exhibited more civilized table manners than the DSS in court manners,” he said.
The Nobel Laureate said only yesterday, in his commentary on the ongoing Sowore saga, he pointed out the near perfect similarity between plain crude thuggery and the current rage of court disobedience, saying that little did he suspected that “the state children of disobedience would aspire to the level of the African wild dogs on a pack hunt.
Quote:“I apologize for underestimating the DSS capacity for the unthinkable. I reiterate the nation’s concern, indeed alarm, about the escalating degradation of the judiciary through multiple means, of which disobedience of court orders is fast becoming the norm.
“May I remind this government that disobedience calls to disobedience, and that disobedience of the orders of the constitutional repository of the moral authority of arbitration the judiciary can only lead eventually to a people’s disregard of the authority of other arms of civil society, a state of desperation that is known, recognized and accepted as – civil disobedience.
“It is so obvious state disobedience leads eventually to civil disobedience, piecemeal or through a collective withdrawal of recognition of other structures of authority. That way leads to chaos but – who set it in motion? As is often the case, the state, unquestionably. Such a state bears full responsibility for the ensuing social condition known as anomie.”

18-year-old boy allegedly shot dead by police officer because he retaliated when the officer slapped him

An 18-year-old boy has allegedly been shot dead by a police officer because he retaliated when the officer slapped him.

Awuzie Duru, 18, was allegedly killed within the premises of a new generation bank branch at Umuaka on Sunday, December 1.

According to reports, Awuzie, popularly known as Aboy, from Isiozi Aka in Umuaka, Imo state, had gone to the bank to withdraw money from the bank’s ATM gallery. The boy took his space on the line and other newcomers took their place behind him.

After a while, Awuzie left the line to answer a call. When he returned to take his place on the ATM queue, the bank customer who was behind him refused to let him back on the line.

This led to a verbal confrontation. A policeman present witnessed the confrontation but did not interfere.

The fight soon turned physical and the policeman got involved and started scolding Awuzie.

According to The Nation, Awuzie then told the officer that he refused to do anything when the were simply exchanging words but wants to scold him now that it has turned into a physical fight.

At this, the officer reportedly slapped Awuzie for talking back at him. Awuzie slapped back and the officer allegedly shot him.

The boy's killing stirred up tension in the town as the youths in the area began planning an attack on the police station.

According to village sources, the youths mobilised to attack the police station but some elders appealed to them to allow the police hierarchy handle the matter.

An elder in the area told The Nation: "I can tell you that the boys were not happy with the matter is that policeman killed the boy over an altercation. So, they had mobilised to burn down the station to show their anger and loss.

"But, some of us had to intervene because this kind of thing has happened here before about 15 years ago when some policemen caused the death of some people in Umuaka here and our youths burned down the police station. So we don’t want this kind of thing to happen anymore.

"Some of them are still planning to launch an attack but we’re still appealing to them."

The state police commissioner, Rabiu Ladodo confirmed the incident. He added that the command was doing everything possible to contain any further crisis that might arise from the incident.

Ladodo also disclosed that the policeman involved had been arrested and will be punished if found guilty.

DSS court invasion confirms Nigeria sliding into dictatorship ― PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the invasion of the sanctity of the Federal High Court by the Department of State Service DSS has further confirmed that Nigeria, under the Buhari Presidency, is finally sliding into dictatorship.

The party stated this in a statement issued in Abuja by Kola Ologbondiyan, it’s National Publicity Secretary. Read the statement below

Quote:The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the furious invasion of the sanctity of the Federal High Court by the Department of State Services (DSS) further confirms that Nigeria, under the Buhari Presidency, is finally sliding into a frightening dictatorship.
The party alerts that the invasion of the court is a vindication of its earlier stand that the nation is no longer governed by democratic principles of rule or law and dictates of the constitution.
Today, the world watched with shock as operatives of the Presidency-controlled DSS, in a most horrific manner, swooped on the court, held the judiciary to ransom, disrupted proceedings, scared away the judge, chased away lawyers and journalists, attacked and re-arrested persons standing trial within the precincts of the court, in a manner that can only be obtainable in Idi Amin’s Uganda.
The invasion is in a forceful suspension of our constitutional order and a further battering of the judiciary, which points to an emerging lawlessness that can only find space in a military regime.
Without prejudice to the charge against the Convener of the “Revolution Now” movement, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, the PDP holds that, in a normal democracy, it is the duty of the court to determine the fate of an accused, according to the laws and not a resort to brute force by the government to silence persons with dissenting voices.
Our party notes that such a violation, as embarrassingly witnessed in the Abuja court this weekend, is a direct invitation to anarchy and a huge threat to the unity, peace, stability and corporate existence of our nation and the safety of our citizens.
Indeed, this is not the Nigeria our citizens yearn for and it is imperative to restate that Nigeria, under the Buhari Presidency, is fast sliding into a dark country where, laws are suspended, the judiciary is assaulted and citizens are stripped of their fundamental rights.
The PDP calls on well meaning Nigerians and the international community to call the Buhari Presidency to order before its actions derail our nation and trigger a breakdown of law and order in the land.
The international community must have more than a passing glance at the situation in Nigeria as any crisis in our country, God forbid, given our population, is capable of having a negative spill over effect across the African continent and other parts of the world.
The PDP urges Nigerians across board, irrespective of political, religious and ethnic learnings, to unite in condemnation of dictatorial tendencies of the present administration and in defending our democracy and unity as a nation.

Nigeria is not a dictatorship- Atiku Abubakar condemns rearrest of Omoyele Sowore inside Abuja court

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice Presient of Nigeria, has condemned the rearrest of Omoyele Sowore, inside the Federal High Court Abuja by men of the Department of State Security DSS.

In a statement released this evening, Atiku stressed that Nigeria is not a dictatorship and so the rule of law must be obeyed by all and sundry. He described the arrest of Omowore inside the court as a rape of the sanctity of the courts.
Read his statement below

Quote:Today, I am in extreme anguish of spirit having watched the unfortunate drama that played itself out at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, in which agents of the state caused a commotion in court in order to frustrate a judgment of a court of competent authority.
Never in the history of Nigerian democracy has a judge been treated in such a disdainful and brazen attack on not just her person and office, but on the entire judiciary. This is unacceptable. It is a rape on the sanctity of the court. Nigeria is not a dictatorship. We are a democracy, no matter how inconvenient this fact is to the powers that have forced themselves on us.
I call for an immediate inquiry to be set up to identify those responsible for the maltreatment meted out to Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu and the desecration of her court, and indeed the Nigerian judiciary. They must be sanctioned to the highest extent permissible by our laws.
I further call for all law enforcement agencies in Nigeria to immediately respect not just the court order made by Justice Ojukwu, but the order of any court in Nigeria, on any detainee, be it Omoyele Sowore, Sambo Dasuki or Ibrahim Zakzaky, among others.
We cannot have a situation where our government is quick to obey foreign court orders and even quicker to disobey domestic court orders. This is symptomatic of a mindset that is servile to foreign powers and brutal to Nigerians.
Without the rule of law, there can be no rule at all. Power in Nigeria still flows from the people, not from the barrel of a gun. I call on all men and women of goodwill not to keep quiet or sit on the fence at times like this.
To keep Nigeria a democracy is the paramount duty of all concerned stakeholders. Please speak up against this tyranny and side with the Nigerian people.

Hadiza Usman Petitions IG, DSS Over Attack At NASS
User Avatar Forum: News

Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; the Department of State Services (DSS) and others over an attack on her at the National Assembly.

Usman was attacked on December 3 by people suspected to be linked to the chairman of Ocean Maritime Solutions Limited (OMSL), Idahosa Okunbo, Igbere Tv reports.

In a petition addressed to the IGP, the Senate President, and DSS Director-General, Usman explained that she was at the Senate on the said date to honour the invitation of the Joint Committee on Navy, Marine Transport and Finance to its public hearing on the Safe Anchorage Area of the Lagos Ports.

Usman’s visit to the Senate followed a motion on “illegal security activities by OMSL at the Safe Anchorage Area of Lagos Ports and the need to investigate their excesses” moved by Senator George Sekibo during plenary on November 7.

She explained that the committee had invited other parties, which included the Nigerian Navy and the OMSL.

“In the course of the session, Captain (Dr) Idahosa Wells Okunbo of OMSL, having made his submission, stormed out visibly angry breathing fire and brimstone. Following Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo outburst and abrupt exit, the Chairman of the Joint Committee closed the session,” she said in the petition.

Writing further, Usman said: “On leaving the meeting room some hoodlums that accompanied Captain Okunbo to the hearing ambushed me at the exit door and tried to push their way towards me to physically attack me, raining abuses on me that I was taking food away from them and their boss, and that they will find me and destroy me.”

The NPA boss explained that it took the efforts of her security detail and the Executive Director, Marine and Operations of NPA, Dr Sekonte Davies, and security personnel deployed from the office of the Deputy Senate President for her and her entourage to leave the premises unhurt.

While calling for the full investigation of the incident with the intent of bringing the culprits to face the full wrath of the law, Usman said she takes the direct threats to her life issued by these hoodlums seriously.

She added that Okunbo should be held responsible if any harm should befall her or any member of her family.

Cops shoot dead four men who gang-raped Indian vet after taking them to field to re-enact the vet’s horrific murder

Four men accused of gang-raping and killing an Indian vet then burning her corpse have been shot dead by Indian police.

The men, who confessed to gang-raping the female vet, had been taken to a field near Hyderabad to re-enact the crime. In the process of re-enacting the crime, police said the men tried to grab weapons of the officers with them so they were shot dead.

News of the four men's deaths was greeted with jubilation across India, including by the victim’s mother who said: "Justice has been done."

Neighbours could be seen celebrating the men's death by setting off firecrackers and distributing sweets, the BBC reports.

A large crowd gathered at the spot where the men were shot to cheer the police with many offering them sweets as a mark of respect.

"I can't put it into words. I felt happiness but also grief because my daughter will never come home," said the victim’s mother.

"My daughter's soul is at peace now. I never thought we would get justice. No other girl should experience what my daughter did."

She also said she wants the law on sexual assault and rape to be "stricter".

"Men should be scared to even stare at women - because they will be punished,” she said.

The victim’s sister added: "I was expecting court trials and the court to deliver justice. This will not bring my sister back, but it is a great relief."

27-year-old Priyanka Reddy had a flat tyre and received help from some men. But the men who had offered to help her with the puncture ended up raping and killing her.

According to police, the men had been the ones who punctured Reddy's tyre then waited to offer help so they could rape her.

The Gulf News reports Reddy was on her way back from the dermatologist, following a day of work at a veterinary hospital. Reddy had taken a cab from the toll plaza, where she had parked her motorcycle. When she returned, Reddy saw that one of her tires was punctured. Police say that Reddy was then approached by the four men. Authorities say the men offered to fix the tire.

Reddy called her sister, Bhavya Reddy, to tell her what was going on. Her sister told Reddy to get a taxi home. After the phone call, that’s when police say the assault began. Police say the men sexually assaulted Reddy and suffocated her to death.

The men have been named as Mohammed Areef, 26, truck driver who is from Jakkulare, Jollu Shiva, 20, cleaner, Jollu Naveen, 20, driver; and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, 20, from Gudigandla. The two drivers had been bringing a truck full of bricks to the region when they met Shiva and Chennakeshavulu.

Quote:BREAKING: Heavily-armed DSS Operatives Chase Falana As He Drives Sowore, Bakare Out Of Court Premises
The move follows the disruption of court proceedings by DSS operatives during the commencement of trial in a case brought against the activists by the Nigerian Government on Friday morning at the Federal High Court.
BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK DEC 06, 2019

Scores of heavily-armed operatives of the Department of State Services are currently chasing the vehicle of Senior Advocate of Nigeria and lawyer to activists, Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare, after he drove them out of the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The move follows the disruption of court proceedings by DSS operatives during the commencement of trial in a case brought against the activists by the Nigerian Government on Friday morning at the Federal High Court.

The secret police had made fruitless attempts to rearrest Sowore and Bakare inside the courtroom having only released them on bail on Thursday night.

The incident led to rancour and commotion inside and around the court premises with the armed operatives preventing Sowore and team from leaving the place.

However, after several minutes of tension, Falana drove the two men in his car out of the court premises with DSS operatives in several vehicles giving them a hot chase behind.

Earlier, Falana later met with Justice Ojukwu and DSS’ lawyer, Hassan Liman, in a bid to resolve the matter.

The judge adjourned the case to 11, 12 and 13 of February 2020 for further hearing.

Sowore sustained bruises all over his body in the course of being rough-handled by DSS operatives inside the court.

More to come…

Nnamdi Kanu: Orji Kalu's Conviction Politically Motivated

JUST IN!! Orji Kalu's Conviction Politically Motivated - Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has described Senator Orji Uzor Kalu's ill- advised conviction over alleged fraud and money laundering as politically motivated.

Kanu in a statement made available to Igbere TV on Thursday said he warned Sen. Kalu that the northerners do not love the Igbos.

He said this is because of the pathological hatred Alimajiris have towards Biafrans (Igbos especially) because their industry and ingenuity expose their mediocrity.

He, however, described Kalu as one who is committed to one Nigeria.

The statement reads,

"I warned him when he came to see me in Kuje Prison that those illiterate unity begging Alimajiris from the desert don't love him but he wouldn't listen."

"I warned him that Fulani caliphate will not rest until they conquer, subdue and enslave the entire East and West because of their sense of inferiority complex, but he wouldn't listen."

"I warned him of the pathological hatred these Alimajiris have towards Biafrans (Igbos especially) because our industry and ingenuity expose their mediocrity, but he wasn't having it. He was a committed One Nigeria apologist."

"I reminded him of what happened to Ken Saro Wiwa who like him believed so much in One Nigeria and ended up being killed by the same Alimajiri he served so dilligently against Biafra, but he wouldn't listen."

"Today they are picking them off one after the other because they know IPOB won't fight for any Efulefu. If he had known what was to become of him, he would have done exactly what I told him during our meeting, join the nearest IPOB family and support the Biafra restoration project. Isn't it ironic the only thing that will save Orji Uzor Kalu now is the coming of Biafra. Will Dave Umahi, Okezie Ikpeazu, Willie Obiano, Rochas Okorocha learn from this?"

Katherine Jenkins is robbed in street after heroically stepping in to try to stop violent girl gang attacking elderly woman

Singer Katherine Jenkins was left shaken up and in tears after she intervened in a street robbery, only to then fall victim to a mugging herself.

The 39-year-old was on her way to perform at the Straubenzee Memorial charity carol service at St Luke's Church when she witnessed a street theft in London yesterday. She had been walking down King's Road in Chelsea at about 3.15pm, on her way to the event, and witnessed an old woman being mugged.

Jenkins then stepped in to help the woman, in what witnesses described as an "extremely violent" incident.

As a result of her intervention, she was mugged too.

The singer was visibly close to tears as she waited for officers to arrive at the scene. When police arrived, she helped them to identify the thieves. She was seen giving details to the officers as shoppers walked by.

Two 15-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of robbery, the Metropolitan Police said.

Three officers led away one suspect wearing a hooded jumper and trainers, who appeared to be protesting. A second girl wearing glasses was also seen in handcuffs near the scene as police spoke to her by the entrance to a building. One of the suspected attackers was then put in the back of a van, which drove off with its lights flashing.

Quote:A group of rented thugs on Friday morning stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja ahead of the trial of pro-democracy campaigner and Publisher of SahareReporters, Omoyele Sowore, condemning his release by the Department of State Services.

Sowore, arrested on August 3, 2019 by the DSS for calling on Nigerians to demand a better country from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari through peaceful demonstrations, was on Thursday released by the secret police after 125 days in detention despite two court orders directing his release after meeting stringent bail conditions in that period.

The hired thugs, who stormed the Abuja court on Friday morning held placards bearing different inscriptions.

According to them, the DSS shouldn't had released Sowore because he had to pay for what they described as 'sins'.

Police officer who killed 10 people ‘while hunting for his unfaithful girlfriend’ bags 20-years in jail

A Kenyan Police officer who killed 10 people at a bar while hunting for his alleged unfaithful lover has been sentenced to 20 years in jail.

Peter Karanja, an administration police officer was charged in November 2010, for the murder of 10 persons he killed in Siakago town of Embu county.

According to the charge sheet, Karanja, who had been deployed to guard the then-Mbeere North district commissioner’s residence, randomly fired bullets, killing Anthony Mwaniki, Frida Ng’endo, Kenwin Muthomi, Agostino Kinyua, George Ng’ang’a, Domisiano Muchira, Ephantus Munyi, Rachel Muthoni, Wilfred Gitonga, and Fredrick Okwako on November 6, 2010. Gitonga and Okwako were his colleagues.

The court heard that while at his work station, Karanja was informed that his girlfriend had been spotted flirting with other men in one of the bars in Siakago.  At about 11:30 pm on November 6, he headed to the nearby New Coconut Bar to look for his girlfriend and upon arrival, he opened fire, killing three people on the spot. He proceeded to Waiyaki Bar where he gunned down the barman who had come to usher him in.

Karanja later walked to Club Tha Shrek where six people were drinking and he killed two women and two men then left.

While on the way, he met his two colleagues who had come to respond to the shooting, shot them both in the back before turning the gun on himself but unknown to him, he had ran out of ammunition.

On Thursday, December 5, Embu High Court judge Florence Muchemi sentenced Karanja to 20 years in jail for each of the ten deaths that he caused. The judge, however, ruled that the sentences will run concurrently.

Karanja’s lawyer, Victor Andande, requested Justice Muchemi to give his client a non-custodial sentence, saying Karanja was remorseful and suffered a terminal illness.

While reading her verdict, Justice Muchemi said the prosecution proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Karanja killed his ten victims, who had not provoked him in any way.

The judge declined to give Karanja a non-custodial sentence, saying she wanted Karanja’s punishment to send a stern warning to people who are intending to commit a similar offence. The convict has 14 days to appeal against the ruling.

Armed robbers disguised as clients kill Bureau de Change operator in Abuja, cart away with bag fully loaded with local and foreign currencies

Armed robbers on Thursday, stormed Zone 4 Bureau de Change market in Abuja, allegedly shot dead an operator identified as Alhaji Hamisu Naira and absconded with unspecified amount of cash.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 9:00am when the operators were starting the business of the day.

Quote:“The robbers disguised as clients seeking to exchange currency and then beckoned Hamisu to come. They swiftly grabbed his Ghana-Must-Go bag which was fully-loaded with local and foreign currencies, including dollars, pounds sterling and euros," said a witness.
“Alhaji Naira then held his bag tightly and refused to let go. He challenged the attackers because it wasn’t his money alone in the bag, and as a result they shot him and fled with the money. The gunshot drew everybody’s attention in the market. We just saw Alhaji Naira’s body lying in the pool of his blood. Some of the marketers around hurriedly took away the corpse, and then we contacted the police immediately,” the witness added.

The deceased, who hailed from Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

Hate Speech: We tracked and documented 387 instances on social media in November - Centre for Information Technology and Development

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has said it tracked and documented a total of 387 Hate and dangerous speech instances on Facebook and Twitter handles across the country in November.

Hamza Ibrahim, CITAD Coordinator, Countering Hate Speech Project, disclosed this at a Post-Gubernatorial Election Press briefing organised by the Centre and supported by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) on Thursday, December 5th in Lokoja.

Ibrahim said that the speech incidents were tracked by the centre’s trained monitors stationed across different parts of the country.

Quote:“Our analysis established that the speech instances occur in textual, video, pictorial and symbolic forms and 32 per cent of the offending species were ethnic-based while 26 per cent were election-related,” he said.
Ibrahim noted that in the last three months, the two categories, ethnic-based and election-based, had dominated the prime position, beating religion-based hate speech which used to top the list. He called on Nigerians to shun Hate Speech and all forms of negative remarks but value and practise tolerance no matter the provocation.

Ibrahim said hate speech had done disastrous damage to people, communities and countries around the world, adding that it prolonged hatred, destroyed mutual coexistence, promoted suspicion, tension and violence.
Quote:“We want to specifically draw the attention of the entire people of Kogi to the dangers and consequences of hate speech and therefore urge that they neither engage in or accommodate hate speech on social media platforms or at community gatherings,” he said.
The centre condemned the gruesome murder of Mrs Salome Abu and attack on Natasha Akpoti before the election, saying that the incidents further revealed the nasty experience of Nigerian women politicians in political processes.

It called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the heartless killing of Mrs Abuh was not allowed to go unpunished but ensure that her killers were brought to book.

Alao-Akala: I Collect Less Than N1 Million Pension As Former Governor
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-06-2019, 10:07 AM - No Replies

Former governor of Oyo state, Adebayo Alao-Akala, has described as shocking and unrealistic rumour making the rounds in some quarters that past governors in Nigeria receive jumbo pension running into millions of naira.

The former governor also said that the claim by some elements that former Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Yari, wrote his successor, Bello Matawalle, to demand payment of outstanding N10 million monthly pension may be a figment of some people’s imagination after all.

The social media was saturated with the claim that the former Zamfara State governor had expressed his misgivings over the non-payment of his entitlement in a letter dated October 17, 2019, saying that he had only been paid twice since he left the office.

However, the former governor of Oyo state, while admitting that the amount payable as pension varies from state to state, said, no state in Nigeria can pay N10 million as pension to a former governor or as salary to a sitting governor.

Citing the case of Oyo, he said: “I was a former deputy governor and a state governor. I want to tell you that I don’t know where those people got that information from and I saw the letter but I don’t know if he was the one that wrote the letter.

“I doubt whether he has denied it too but I don’t think it is correct; it is not possible. Not even Lagos state can pay that amount to any former governor. Let me tell you what I know: Every four years, they supposed to change our car.”

He described as unfounded the claim in some quarters that every three years governors get six new cars. He added that it is untrue that deputy governors get up to five new cars every three years as being rumoured.

“My reply to this is that authoritatively as a former governor, I am not on this package. People must have been looking at me and other ex-governors and say that we are stinkingly rich. I collect less than a million naira a month as pension. I think it is about N700,000, I won’t lie to you. In that amount, allowances for the cook, the gardener and the security man is embedded.

“In fact, on assumption of office Makinde said that he thought his money would be about N5million. He donated his monthly salary to the pensioners… Of course, we are not in government but whatever is his salary is the same as our salary.

“The question is that is the present governor of Zamfara taking N10m? It is a constitutional matter; you cannot take money outside that law. It is a lie. No house is built for any governor in Oyo state.

“Some states build houses for past governors but we don’t have that law in Oyo state,” he said.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 6TH DECEMBER.

WE’RE NOT MERE HUMANS

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life... (1 John 5:13).

In the verse above, the Apostle John says, “I want you to know that you have eternal life.” This simply lets us know that as Christians, we’re not mere humans. It’s so important that you believe, accept and understand this, because until and unless you know that you’re not a mere human being, you’re going to be subject to what human beings are subject to: the corrupting influences of this present world. The Bible says we’ve escaped the corruption that’s in the world, through lust, being associates of the God-kind 2 Peter 1:4).

Something indeed happened when you were born again; you were actually reborn. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” This isn’t a cliché! To be in Christ means you’re born into Christ; baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:27). This means you’re immersed into Him and have become one with Him.

Now that you’re in Christ, you have the life and nature of God. You’re a different kind of being. And according to the Bible, you don’t have two natures; your old nature was crucified with Christ (Romans 6:6). You have another life, the resurrection life, inside you now.

James 1:18 says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.” The underlined portion indicates that you’re another kind of man—the “Godkind” of man. Being born again, you were brought, not only into a knowledge of Christ but also into a union with Him that has made you an associate of the heavenly pantheon. No wonder Jesus said in John 10:34 (NKJV), “...Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?” Glory to God!

CONFESSION

I’m the God-kind of man, because I have the life and nature of God in my spirit. I’ve ceased to be human, for I’ve been brought, not only into a knowledge of Christ but, also into a union with Him that has made me an associate of the heavenly pantheon. I know who I am! Therefore, I rule and reign in this life, prevailing gloriously by the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen!

TALKINGSESSION

6TH DECEMBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD.

Dear Father, Yours is the greatness, the power, the glory, the majesty, and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Your blessing brings wealth, with no painful toil for it; therefore, I refuse to fret or struggle for anything, for I am in Your rest.

I am living in the morning of my life; I am prosperous and successful in every good work. Lord, I thank You for supplying everything I need to live triumphantly for Your glory and fulfil my destiny in You! You’ve brought me into the place of rest and superabundance, where all my needs are met.

I am excellent and full of glory; my path is as the shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day! I am living the life of dominion, power, and righteousness.

I am making progress with giant strides, by the power of the Spirit, and through the Word. I am walking in increased grace, wisdom, knowledge, and divine provisions, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

I cannot be stopped from talking - Aisha Buhari

Nigeria's First Lady Aisha Buhari asserted that she can't be stopped from talking while speaking from London on Thursday December 5.

The First Lady who was a guest caller on TVC's Journalists’ Hangout, made a clarification on her comment about the social media bill, insecurity and poverty in the country and lashing out at underserving governors and ministers.

Aisha Buhari stated that she has the constitutional right to freedom of expression when asked if she has been told to stop talking. “Who will stop me? Everybody is talking in the country. Everybody should talk. It is freedom of speech”, she said.

On if she engages in pillow talk on the challenges facing the country with her husband President Buhari, the First Lady hilariously said “There is no pillow in the Villa including the other room”.

The President's wife who stated that she knows that the challenges facing the country comes from a long-term neglect, maintained that she did not specifically blame the governors while speaking at the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs General Assembly and National Executive Council Meeting held at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday December 29.

Quote:“We are all suffering from it. Whether you are an executive  or ordinary citizen. We can’t go to our villages  and sleep with  two eyes closed. It cuts across" she said.

Also commenting on her support for the social media bill, Aisha recalled how the Minister of Communications shared a story of someone calling to confirm if Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has resigned as claimed on social media. Though the First Lady said everyone in the room laughed over the story, she added that it was a serious issue and she expected action to be taken to curb such fake news.

Quote:“There are no consequences for offenders. You say anything you like and get away with it. We cannot have peace in such a society. Once there are no consequences, everybody does whatever he likes. Everything will be in disarray" Aisha added.

She also lashed out at some officials in her husband's administration for taking up issues they are not concerned with. Recounting how the Presidency reacted to report of the PDP threatening to sanction former President Goodluck Jonathan over the party's loss to the APC in Bayelsa Governorship election, Aisha Buhari wondered where the spin doctors were when report of her husband taking up a new wife went viral.

Lagos-Ibadan Free Train Ride: After Low Patronage Passengers Besiege Iju Station
User Avatar Forum: News

Quote:Published December 5, 2019

…Some passengers beg to stand

After days of low patronage recorded on the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge free train service between Monday and Wednesday, passengers besieged Iju Station on Thursday to enjoy the ride to Ibadan.

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria who monitored the train service on Thursday observed that the number of passengers outnumbered available seats in the train.

NAN reports that a sizeable number of intending passengers had been waiting since 11.00 a.m for the train billed to depart Lagos for Ibadan at 4:00 p.m.

Before 3:00 p.m., a huge crowd of intending passengers had gathered at the station and filled all the available seats in the train with two executive coaches.

Confusion arose when those, who had earlier in the day registered their names to travel on the train, returned a few minutes to 3:00 p.m. to discover that the train had been filled up to capacity.

More intending passengers started to troop into the station and begged the officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation to allow them to stand in the train.

When the entire station was about to be thrown into confusion, the NRC officials had to bend the rules to accede to the request of those who wanted to stand.

Speaking to NAN on phone on the huge turnout of passengers, the Lagos State Railway District Manager, Mr Jerry Oche, expressed surprise about the sudden turnout of passengers.

Asked if the NRC intended to increase the number of coaches to accommodate more intending passengers, Oche said that the service would increase from December 21.

He said that instead of one return trip daily from Ibadan to Lagos, it would be twice daily.

It was reported that only six passengers turned up for the ride on Monday and Tuesday together in Lagos.

A Senior Station Master at Iju, Mr Sunday Abu, told NAN that people were only just getting to know about the free ride, thus the number of beneficiaries had started improving each day.

According to him, on Wednesday, the train moved 14 passengers to Lagos from Ibadan and returned 31 passengers to Ibadan.
