Singer, Burna Boy has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly sending armed men to attack his colleague, Mr. 2kay at Eko Hotels and Suites.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Chike Oti, in a statement said the ‘Soke’ crooner was “subsequently arrested, interrogated and detained and is expected to be charged to court on Monday alongside four of members of the gang earlier arrested”.[Image: Burna-Boy-June.jpg]
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, after the interrogation, said the State Police Command has zero tolerance for all forms of crime and would not hesitate to prosecute anyone found culpable in any criminal offence perpetrated in the State.

“There would be no sacred cows. This Command is poised to ensure that every resident can feel safe wherever they are and carry out their businesses without fear or favour. Anyone, therefore, found to be involved in this case would be made to face the law to clear his or her name or face prosecution,” the statement quoted Imohimi as saying.
The pop musician, who was declared wanted by the Lagos Police Command in connection with the robbery attack on another popular musician, Mr. 2kay at Eko Hotel and Suites early last month, reported to the Command headquarters in Ikeja at about 5pm.

Tunmise Omotore, gang leader of the suspected robbers, had confessed on how they disguised as room service to rob Mr. 2kay at Eko Hotel and Suites on the instruction of Burba Boy’s Road Manager, Joel Kantiock.

300 Doctors Left Nigeria In 2016 – NMA President
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 12-16-2017, 01:29 PM - No Replies

300 Nigerian doctors left the country in 2016, the national president also of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Mike Ogirima, has revealed.
He said more doctors have joined the migration train this year. He did not give any statistics, although NAN learnt that 500 doctors sat for qualifying foreign medical examination preparing to move out.
Mr. Ogirima made this revelation at the association’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on Thursday in Lagos.
An estimated 35,000 Nigerian doctors are practising abroad, out of the 72,000 registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
The United Kingdom and the United States are the top destinations of the migrant doctors.
In August, an official of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Abimbola Olajide, revealed that no fewer than 2,500 doctors would leave the country this year.
“Nigeria is using her resources to train doctors and professionals at the advantage of foreign countries. What are those things attracting these professionals outside? Can we duplicate those things here?” Mr. Ogirima asked.
The NMA president said the responsibility to check the migration lies with the government, the people and professionals to provide good working environment.
Mr. Ogirima said, “The government should provide adequate remuneration. We are not saying we should pay so much, but pay them for the job they are doing as at when due.
“We, on our part as professionals should look inward to change our attitude to patients. We should make patients as the Centre focus of why we are called doctors.”
He said the National Health Act of 2014 has not been fully implemented despite warnings of legal action and its implications from the NMA.
According to him, the act holds the key to revolutionising the health industry.
“It will encourage provision of additional fund to the system and ensure care of the vulnerable in the society.
“The present provision of only three to four per cent of our annual budget to health sector is not helping the development of our system.
“Some African countries who have voted up to 15 per cent or more to their health systems are witnessing gradual improvement in their health sector.
“Nigerians are now patronising health facilities in our neighbouring countries,” he said. (NAN)
Also, the Commissioner for Housing, Lagos State, Gbolahan Lawal, urged NMA to create sustainable policies that would make major economic impact on Nigerians.
Mr. Lawal said, “If we consider informal housing, that is, houses that do not have the approval of government and located in slum areas, and the consequences, it has a lot to do with health.
“The government already has building code that does not allow for houses not good for human habitat,” he said. http://leadership.ng/2017/12/16/300-doct...president/

After shocking Nigerians with her life of  a neglected child story, the beautiful nollywood actress continues with this tribute to her mum...
...why can't u use it to prove people wrong that what man can do- woman can do better, that I should prove to them that a child with no family can become a successful person... Mum, I remember when u used to contemplate on; if you had gone to school, If you are a bold type, that maybe we would both have a better life... [url=https://www.blogger.com/null][/url]Yes mum! that was why i tried my best to go to school despite d fact that i read while I was hawking and that has made me to be dis original.. I don't fake who i am bcos u told me, being friendly, hard working, loyal, bold, sound and good heart can propel me to anywhere in the world and ofcos all you said is true.. Maami, i remember when i fell down while I was hawking and my cheekbone was completely broken and swelled up that i can't see well.. We were adviced to withdraw from Able school, so i was sent to Disabled school cos my face scares other student... U ran to a nurse, rolled on the floor and u said; nurse, please remove all my bone and give it to my daughter and she replied; this case is money we don't need your bone
U took me to village to go do cutting of ofada rice, i can't forget how we were both scratching our body when rain beat us in rice farm.. It get to a point that I suggested begging but u told me that beggar and thief are d same that they both have d same problem which is "no shame" .. U said, if we beg and i become a successful person that the stigma will be there for life.. U said,Okomi, let people know us as a hustler not a beggar or a thief... I remember how u would cut ur inner rapper and used it to patched ur buba at the back, I remember everything!! My colleagues didn't know i moved out of Ijebu-igbo to Ijebu-ode so that u can live with me.. When i met ur brother, i asked him abt u and he said u are still hawking; from that day, i vowed that I will never allow you to leave my side again.. Living together with u was a sweet memory..‎

Kanye West finally makes his Kardashian Christmas card debut alongside wifey Kim, still no sign of Pregnant Khloe and Kylie (Photos)
Rapper and dad of two, Kanye West has finally made his Kardashian Christmas card debut 11 days in.
Reality queen Kim has been sharing photos with her 105 million Instagram followers since December 1st. And while the snaps have featured Kardashian kids North, Saint, Penelope, Mason, Reign and also Rob's daughter Dream, the 40-year-old rapper is nowhere to
be seen.
That of course changed on Monday when the mum-of-two shared a snap of husband and wife (their torsos, at least) standing in front of a Christmas tree in jeans and white tops as they stick to the style theme.
"DAY 11," she simply captioned it.
Kourtney has also appeared in one of Kim's earlier snaps, shot by photographer Eli Linnetz, but there's still no sign of Khloe and Kylie, who are both rumoured to be expecting babies early next year.
Kim previously said she had was going to be organising this year's card.
Appearing on James Corden's The Late Late Show, she told the host: “This year’s Christmas card is shot really casually.
really casually.
"We’re kind of doing [a] jeans-and-T-shirts vibe. Really cute. All the kids are so hard to put together.”
[Image: Kim-Kardashians-37th-Birthday-Dinner-at-...ngeles.jpg]

The pair out for Kim's birthday dinner
While the 2015 Christmas card only featured North, Reign, Penelope and Mason, the famous family opted not to release a card at all in 2016.
With a picture a day, they're clearly making up for it. For Khloe and Kylie, we may not see them until after delivery of their babies.

[size=undefined]Bisola, speaking with Broadway TV was particular about her answers as she says she'd rather be with a man with money over a man who is good in bed.
Asked what she looks out for in a man, his height or his face… she says:
Personally, I’m not about physical qualities… No.. if he can make me laugh, I’m good, I’m good with someone who has a fantastic sense of humour… so I’m not really particular about how he looks, how tall he is, how short he is, his skin complexion, nah.
To be good in bed or to be rich?
If you’re rich, you can buy the goodness of the bed.. (laughs) oh my goodness, I think people overrate this good in bed something, good in bed, after the goodness of the bed, you’re now hungry who that one help? You’ll not even have strength to be good you know… I’d rather you have the quid, yeah…

Canadian Billionaire Couple Found Dead In Toronto Home
[Image: Canadian%2BBillionaire%2BCouple.jpg]
The billionaire founder of Canadian pharmaceutical firm Apotex Inc, Barry Sherman, and his wife Honey, were found dead in their Toronto home on Friday under circumstances that police described as “suspicious.” reuters reports.

Police told reporters they were investigating the deaths after finding the couple in their northeast Toronto home when responding to a medical call just before noon (1700 GMT).

“The circumstances of their death appears suspicious and we are treating it that way,” said Constable David Hopkinson.

Sherman founded Apotex in 1974, a company the firm says is now the world’s No. 7 generic drugmaker. He stepped down as chief executive in 2012, but stayed on as executive chairman.

“All of us at Apotex are deeply shocked and saddened by this news and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time,” the company said in a statement.

Privately held Apotex says it is the largest Canadian-owned pharmaceutical firm, with annual sales of more than C$2 billion.

Ontario’s health minister, Eric Hoskins, described the couple in a tweet as “wonderful human beings, incredible philanthropists, great leaders in healthcare.”

Soldiers Capture 167 Insurgents, Recover Weapons/Explosives (Photos)

PoliticsNGR has been furnished with a statement from the Nigerian Army detailing the capture of 167 insurgents in the Lake Chad Islands.

Read the full statement below;

"Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have intensified the ongoing offensive on Boko Haram enclaves in the Islands around the Lake Chad region. The offensive which commenced about two weeks ago with coordinated air and artillery bombardments on Boko Haram enclaves while ground troops moved in to clear the areas, is yielding positive results, as several insurgents have been killed and 167 insurgents who were fleeing from the offensive have been captured by troops.

Troops also extricated and profiled 67 women and 173 children who revealed during profiling exercise that they are family members of insurgents who fled, following troops' offensive. Arrangement is ongoing to hand them over to IDP camp authorities after preliminary investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile in the past two months, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have sustained ongoing precursor operations and have conducted long range fighting patrols and ambushes seeking out and clearing BHT hideouts in Saada and Juwei in the fringes of northern Borno. During the operations troops intercepted and arrested 53 fleeing insurgents who have been profiled and are currently helping with investigations. Fifteen insurgents have also willingly abandoned the insurgent group, describing it as a futile struggle and have surrendered to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole within the period.

Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences go to families and relations of troops as well as civilians who paid the supreme price in the encounters and callous suicide bomb and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks by the terrorists.

While troops continue relentlessly in the ongoing offensive to decisively rid the northeast hinterlands of insurgents, members of the public are implored to be more security conscious and vigilant in their homes, communities, places of worship , markets and other places of business to identify strange persons as well as any suspicious activity and promptly report same to security agencies. They are also urged to remember to “Say something, if you see something”.

Two years after NY rapper and one of French Montana's Coke Boys, Chinx Drugz was killed, police have finally made an arrest.
NY police just moved in and arrested a man that they claim is connected to the 2015 murder. The suspect is Quincy Homere, 32. He was arrested on Thursday in NYC and has been charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the 2015 drive-by shooting that left Chinx dead.

Homere
A second suspect has reportedly also been charged in connection to Chinx's murder. He is 26-year-old Jamar Hill and is facing the same charges as Homere. Both he and Homere were serving time in jail on unrelated charges when they were arrested in connection to the murder.

Jamar Hill
Homere's arrest was filmed and shared online. In the footage, he is seen dressed in prison clothes with his hands chained as two plain-clothes officers took him to a waiting car. He covered his face with his hands all the while.
Chinx was gunned down in the Spring of 2015 in Queens, NY, having taken multiple bullets to the torso. Another victim in the car had been left badly injured. Chinx was 31. The motive for the murder was allegedly long-standing beef that escalated as Chinx’ career took off.

Ekiti Workers To Fayose: We Need Our Salaries, Not Xmas Clothes
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-16-2017, 11:39 AM - No Replies

Government workers in Ekiti State have appealed to Governor Ayo Fayose to accord priorities to the payment of backlog of salary arrears owed them rather than giving their children Christmas clothes.
They expressed regrets that many of them are dying of hunger while others who are afflicted with debilitating ailments and lack money to access quality healthcare delivery.
Acting under the aegis of the Enlightened Workers’ Forum (EWF), they welcomed the directive from the Presidency that governors should clear all arrears owed workers before Christmas.
In a press statement made available to The Nation on Friday, EWF Coordinator, Mike Bamidele, criticised the decision of the governor to provide free Christmas clothes to 20,000 children in the state.
Describing the Free Xmas Clothes for Kids project as a “misplaced priority,” Bamidele said workers’ salaries should remain the governors’ priority rather than “unnecessary grandstanding and splurge on frivolities.”
Bamidele said hunger occasioned by the non-payment of salaries has unleashed hardship on workers some of whom, he said are dying of hunger and ailments the can’t treat.
He said: “We are still at a loss why the governor still owes core civil servants five months arrears, workers in institutions on subventions seven months and local government workers and primary school teachers nine months.
“Rather than making sincere and concrete efforts to pay our salaries, the governor is busy distributing Christmas clothes for 20,000 children.
“If he pays their parents regularly, it will be easy for them to buy clothes for their children. It is not the business of government to be buying Christmas clothes for children and this has turned Ekiti to a laughing stock.
“Offering to buy Christmas clothes for children when salaries are not paid is an attempt to play politics with the poverty of the people and turn the innocent kids to pawns on the political chess board.
“We reject this Christmas Clothes for Children project in its entirety; all we need are our salaries and allowances. Let the governor look for means to pay them so that we can have relief.
“A labourer deserves his wages and the sweat of his labour must not dry on his forehead. We have worked for this money, it is our right and not privilege, the governor must pay our salaries.
“We are also using this medium to call on the Federal Government to investigate how bailout funds, Paris Club refunds, Budget Support Funds sent to Ekiti State were spent.
“We believe if these monies are deployed to payment of workers, all these arrears would have been offset by now.”

Mother Of Two Sentence To Six Months In Prison For Insulting Prophet Muhammad
[Image: Mother%2Bof%2Btwo%2Bsentenced%2Bto%2B6%2...hammad.jpg]
A 46-year-old mother of two was on Friday, sentenced to six months prison and RM15,000 fine by the Magistrate’s Court in Malaysia after being found guilty of three counts of insulting Prophet Muhammad.

Magistrate Siti Hanum Md Sah made the decision after looking through evidence presented by the prosecutor and defense parties in the case.
She found that the defense had failed to raise reasonable doubt.

The accused, Tham Yut Mooi was charged with insulting the Prophet at 5.30pm on May 4 last year in the prayer hall of Abu Ubaidah mosque, Jalan Perpaduan in Taman Perpaduan Ulu Kinta.

She was accused of insulting Prophet Muhammad and was overheard by three individuals, Abdul Rahim Mat Diah, 53, Mohd Yunos Harun, 73 and Mohd Halim Buyong, 44, believed to be done to insult them.

She was charged under Section 298 of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of a maximum jail-time of one year or fine or both.

The prosecution was carried out by deputy public prosecutor Fadhli Ab Wahab while the accused was represented by lawyer WC Chiang.

Previously, Fadhli urged the court to mete out the sentence befitting the offense as it was a serious one that involved religious sensitivity, public interest and should not be committed by anyone.

He said the insults should not be uttered in front of not only Muslims but people of other faiths as Malaysians must respect each other’s religions.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the accused pleaded with the court to give a light sentence as his client is a mother of two and has parents to care for.

The court requested for the sentence to run simultaneously on the day of charge, and Tham faces an additional three more months in prison if she fails to pay the fine.

The court allowed the prison sentence to be postponed until the period of appeal is completed with the condition that she must post bail of RM5,000 with a surety and her passport must be handed over to the court.

IDENTICAL TRIPLETS TAKE A DNA TEST AND THE RESULTS ARE NOT WHAT EVERYONE EXPECTED
[Image: identical%2Btriplets.jpg]

People often see identical twins, but Identical triplets? I have never seen any.Nicole, Erica, and Jaclyn Dahm are identical triplets born on December 12, 1977. Ever since their birth, they were a sensation wherever they went. Their parents were thrilled, and all the other people were too, seeing them all together, identically stunning, with their blue eyes and blonde hair. It’s not that often that we see identical triplets anyway.
In order to be able to tell them apart, their parents had to tattoo small dot marks on their bottoms – Nicole, the firstborn, has one dot. Erica, born second, has two. The youngest triplet, Jacklyn, has no dot. This was necessary as they not only looked identical but also were inseparable all the time.

They grew up in Jordan, a small town in Minnesota. They went to a public high school where they got a lot of attention. With less than 30,000 people living in the town as they were growing up, you can only imagine how much of an attraction they were. The modeling agencies quickly realized these girls are stunning.
The Dahm girls stayed together whenever they could. Many years later, in an interview with Playboy, Nicole said: “We rarely hold our own identity. We were always known as ‘You three’ or ‘The Triplets.’” They shared toys, clothes, friends. Basically, they held together through thick and thin.

Modeling agencies are always searching for the next beautiful girl. Imagine the interest they had for these three gorgeous ladies! Aged 16, the triplets were featured on the cover of Teen Magazine as they won the Great Model Search. This was just the first of their many successes in the modeling industry, creating the path towards one of the biggest magazines in the world.
However, the Dahm triplets planned on becoming nurses. All three of them were attending the University of Minnesota with one goal in mind – to work as nurses one day (perhaps in the same hospital?). While they were at the campus, they noticed a Playboy ad for new models to include in their “Girls of the Big Ten Special Edition”
The triplets applied, but never expected this would turn their lives upside down. The casting agent got them a test shoot. It was time for a big decision – will they get naked in front of the Playboy cameras? Naturally, the decision had to be joint. After some debate among three of them, they became the first triplets in Playboy‘s monthly centerfold.
Since Nicole, Erica, and Jaclyn didn’t have a modeling career as their priority, this was a risky decision. In 1998, Jaclyn told Playboy Magazine that they “would never have done this as individuals.” What they didn’t know at the time was that this step would open many doors for them, and even lead to a surprising DNA test.
Dahm triplets actually had big opportunities in front of them after the Playboy feature. Erica once said that the Playboy issue was what started the lives for her and her sisters. She speaks of it as an “amazing experience,” something she wouldn’t ever change. Eventually, the three of them dropped out of the nursing school to pursue careers in the fabulous entertainment industry in Los Angeles.
It was as if the L.A. was just waiting for them to appear. They had opportunities everywhere – they appeared on Boy Meets World and Family Feud, and basically were the perfect and unique choice for identical triplets – as that’s what they were.
They got cast for an episode of House Wars, after which Fox hired them for Renovate My Family. That’s where their personal lives started changing too. The show was hosted by Jay McGraw, Dr. Phil’s son, who fell for the middle triplet, Erica. She admitted what she felt for him as he got to her trailer and asked her to watch a movie was “love at first sight.”
They got cast for an episode of House Wars, after which Fox hired them for Renovate My Family. That’s where their personal lives started changing too. The show was hosted by Jay McGraw, Dr. Phil’s son, who fell for the middle triplet, Erica. She admitted what she felt for him as he got to her trailer and asked her to watch a movie was “love at first sight.” It was this meeting with Jay McGraw that led the triplets to eventually take a shocking DNA test. McGraw’s dad, Dr. Phil, is one of the executive producers on the show The Doctors, where a panel of doctors discusses various medical issues. From time to time, they feature celebrities on the show and discuss their own medical issues.
McGraw had an idea to feature the Dahm triplets on The Doctors since he met Erica in 2006. He wanted to discuss the details about their lives as triplets. The public loved it, as they loved everything these girls ever did. In fact, Jaclyn, Erica, and Nicole started appearing on the show regularly and talked about everything, including their medical similarities as triplets. That gave the producers an idea – a really good one, something that’s never been seen on the television before. While they were on The Doctors, the triplets helped the ratings rise, but one particular happening helped boost the show even more. All three of them got pregnant at the same time. People went crazy about that, not believing they had to do everything together, even get pregnant together. As for the producers of The Doctors, they saw this as the perfect opportunity to feature the girls even more and do a crazy experiment with them.
In 2010, within weeks of each other, Nicole, Erica, and Jaclyn gave birth. What’s more incredible, they all welcomed beautiful baby girls! As Jaclyn said, “it must be that triplet bond,” as she explained how lucky they’ve all been. In 2017, the producers called the triplets with a unique idea.
The triplets received a strange request from Jay McGraw and the rest of the crew. They wanted to introduce them to Lisa Guerrero, a journalist from Inside Edition, who would investigate the reliability of DNA and ancestry tests. The identical triplets served as a perfect example for testing how reliable these tests actually are.
The popularity of DNA tests you can do at home has risen over the past couple of years. Many people are willing to pay a fee in order to learn more about their ancestors and heritage. The leaders in the industry, 23andMe and Ancestry, provide people the opportunity to see where exactly they come from at a reasonable price.
The process is fairly simple. The customer receives a saliva kit and provides a sample of their DNA, then sends it to the DNA decoding companies. The tests can reveal interesting and shocking results and even lead to lost relatives. The Dahm triplets did the test and waited for the results to arrive. Little did they know that the results would shock the world.
The results come after a couple of weeks. The idea was that, in theory, as identical triplets they would all have to share the same DNA. However, Lisa Guerrero, the Inside Editionjournalist, had her doubts about these at-home kits and was very curious to see the results of the triplet experiment.
It goes without saying that Jaclyn, Nicole, and Erica never expected to end up here when they first applied for Playboy modeling ad. But here they are, taking a DNA test for a TV show and waiting to see if they are really identical. The three young girls from a small Minnesota town are now on the popular show, waiting impatiently to learn more about their ancestry.
On the other hand, it’s not that surprising. Back when they wanted to be nurses, the triplets were fascinated with biology and genetics. They were grateful for the opportunity to help improve the genetic testing system, but the end result shocked them. A special episode of The Doctor was scheduled for March 2017 in which the results would finally be revealed.
The first results surprised nobody – they showed the girls were completely identical. Fun fact: Erica can even open Nicole’s safe, as their fingerprints are as identical as possible in two human beings. Ok, so the first test told them something they already knew – that they are identical. What happened next? The second test was more comprehensive and detailed. It showed each of the girls’ ancestry to see their ethnicity. Needless to say, the Dahm sisters expected to get the same results. However, something was not right.
All three of them were 99% European, as for their DNA. Good start. However, when the results were broken down further, the differences started emerging. Erica was said to be 16% Irish and British, while Nicole was 2% more Irish and British. As more results were revealed, the triplets and the audience were more and more confused.
More and more differences were shown as the results came in. All three of the Dahm sisters had different percentages of German and French heritage in their DNA – Erica had 22.3%, Jaclyn 18%, and Nicole 11%. Strange! Both the girls and The Doctors were very confused with the data they just read. The audience was in complete awe. The Scandinavian part of the test was even more shocking. Erica and Jaclyn were identical here, with 7.4% of Scandinavian ancestries, while Nicole was found to be 11.4% Scandinavian. Nobody knew how any of this was even possible. They were supposed to share identical results.

Dr. Stork explained that home DNA tests are still not developed enough to be 100% correct. You can always expect some flaws in the results. As he said, “you can’t just spit in a cup and have every single answer that you are looking for,” the tests are simply not evolved enough for something like that. But does this mean that the doctor and Lisa Guerrero, the journalist, disapprove of these tests?

How Maryam Sanda, her househelp, mum and brother tried to hide evidence
[Image: sanda.jpg]
By helping Maryam to quickly scrub off the blood stains after she stabbed hubby Bilyaminu to death and hiding the object used in committing that crime, her house-help and family members committed a crime punishable under The Law, according to The Nigerian Police. Read below...
The Nigerian Police Force, on Thursday alleged before an Abuja High Court at Jabi, that the family members of Maryam Sanda, wife of murdered son of erstwhile Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bilyamin Bello, attempted to hide evidence against her.
The Police, in an amended two-count charge it filed before the court, alleged that Maryam’s mother, Maimuna Aliyu and her brother, Aliyu Sanda, upon realizing that an offence of culpable homicide was committed, “did cause evidence of the offence to disappear”.
It said the duo, with the help of one Sadiya Aminu, a house help, carefully cleaned the blood from the scene of the crime with the intention of screening the 1st defendant, Maryam, from legal punishment.
According to the prosecution, the three persons involved in the scrubbing-off of murdered Bilyamin’s blood, by their action, committed an offence punishable under section 167 of the Penal Code Law.
Consequently, Police re-arraigned Maryam alongside her mother, brother and Aminu, before trial Justice Yusuf Halilu.
Meanwhile, all the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge. In his ruling, Justice Halilu declined to release the alleged ‘killer wife’ on bail.
The Judge ordered that she should remain in Suleja prison until February 5, 2018, when a full-blown hearing was scheduled to begin in the case.

http://www.lawyard.ng/justiceforfirdaus-argument-over-hijab-needless-we-will-address-it-nba-president/?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=socialnetwork#JusticeForFirdaus:

The President of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, A.B. Mahmoud, SAN, has promised that the Association would look into the circumstances in which Amasa Firdaus, a graduate of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) was prevented from being called to the Bar on Tuesday.

Firdaus was said to have been denied entry into the hall where the ceremony held by officials of the Council of Legal Education (CLE) for failing to remove her ‘hijab’ covering as directed.

The prospective call to bar candidate reportedly insisted on wearing her hijab in adherence to her religious beliefs and refused entreaties to do otherwise. She was subsequently locked out and could not participate in the ceremony.

Firdaus’ plight has garnered nationwide attention and has been the subject of a debate about the constitutional right to freedom of worship and the obligation to respect laid out rules. A call for Firdaus to be admitted to the Bar has also been trending with the hashtag #JusticeForFirdaus.

Joining the discussion Friday afternoon, NBA President Mahmoud referred to Olufunke Abimbola, a Nigerian lawyer based in the United Kingdom (UK) who was recently honoured by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to promoting diversity in the legal profession.

Writing on his Twitter handle, @abmtwitt, Mr Mahmoud said Firdaus’ plight would be addressed while also adding that the NBA would embrace diversity.

“UK based Nigerian lawyer recognized for promoting diversity in the legal profession. The NBA will embrace diversity and tolerance in the Nigerian legal profession. The Hijab issue will be addressed,” Mahmoud said.

The NBA President went further to share a picture of his daughter being admitted to the New York Bar while wearing a hijab and declared that the argument over hijab in Nigeria was needless.

Ekweremadu proposes 6-year single term for president, governors

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has advocated six-year single tenure for president and governors . He said this will “to stop the problem caused by the quest for second term.”

The DSP, who is also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made the call in Nsukka on Friday during the 3rd Adada Lecture organised by the Association of Nsukka Professors with the theme “Restructuring and the Nigeria Youth.”

He noted that “single presidency tenure of six years that rotates among the six geo-political regions will promote unity and loyalty to the nation.”

He stressed the need to restructure the county to enable regions to harness their resources outside oil, “especially given that the black gold was undergoing shocks in the global oil market.

“The market for crude oil is reducing by the day as countries like Britain and France now have laws that will ban the use of diesel and petrol cars by 2030.

“Also, many countries have started using electric cars.”

He further called on youths in the country to close ranks and support restructuring as it would create employment and guarantee better future.

The lawmaker also explained that restructuring would not divide the country as feared by some people but that it would rather, strengthen and re-position the nation.

He identified ethnic and religious sentiment, ignorance and fear of the unknown as some of the challenges facing restructuring.

He said “ Restructuring with devolution of power at the centre would reduce political tension as well as make the centre unattractive.”

Anambra lawmakers raise alarm over menace of herdsmen
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-16-2017, 08:44 AM - No Replies

Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly have raised the alarm over the activities of herdsmen in the state.

The members representing Anambra West Constituency, Hon. Victor Okoye and his counterpart, representing Orumba North Constituency, Hon. Romanus Obi raised the alarm on the floor of the house during plenary session on Friday.

Okoye who is the Majority Leader in the House, said of great concern was the destruction of crops in some communities in Anambra West Council Area by cattle belonging to Fulani herdsmen, without recourse to the agreement they
reached with the state government.

The lawmaker in a motion titled “Need to curtail the activities of Fulani herdsmen in Anambra State,” lamented that the Federal Government appeared to have left the people to their fate.

Okoye told the house that suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked some communities in Anambra West Council Area where they destroyed crops and sacked a lot of persons from their various farmlands in his constituency.

He appealed to the State Government to intervene and stop the carnage in his area.

On his part, the member representing Orumba North Constituency, Chief Romanus Obi, regretted that despite measures put in place by the Federal Government to end incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers by carving some areas as grazing routes, destruction of farm lands by cattle still persisted.

He lamented that, “Since this destructive attack, it has been observed that no farmer in the communities have engaged in farming activities for fear of being killed.

“I am concerned about the heinous and criminal activities being perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen who ravage communities, depriving persons of right to life and prosperity, raping, defiling women and destroying farm crops amongst other criminal activities across the country.

“Despite the public outcry and previous resolutions of the National Assembly as regards the criminal activities of herdsmen, there seems
to be no visible action on the part of government to curtail or totally stop the criminal activities of these criminal elements among ‎Fulani herdsmen.”

The lawmaker who quoted section 33(1) of chapter (iv) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), said “every person has a right to life and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in the execution of a court sentence in respect of criminal offence of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria.

“The Africa Chapter on Human and Peoples Right of which Nigeria is a signatory also provides for Right to Life and Respect for Integrity of
Persons, Freedom from Slavery, Torture, Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading treatment

“Section 43 of the constitution provides that every citizen shall have a right to acquire and own immovable property anywhere in Nigeria.

“The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) in section 14(b) clearly provides that the Security and Welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.”

He warned that the situation might get worse if drastic action was not taken.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle wedding date clashes with FA Cup final

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been announced for May 19 next year, the same day for this season’s FA Cup final.

The ceremony will hold at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same day for the famous cup decider at Wembley.

This has thrown into doubt whether FA president Prince William – Harry’s brother – will present the trophy to the winning captain as usual.

Harry is also a supporter of Arsenal, who won the FA Cup last season and were handed their winners medals by William; the Duke of Cambridge.

The Gunners also beat William’s beloved Aston Villa in the 2015 final, where he handed losers medals to the Villa players.

The FA have confirmed the final will not be moved to another date and a Kensington Palace spokesman said: “We are aware of it and we haven’t announced times yet. It will be considered as part of the further planning.”

Asked why a Saturday, the spokesman said: “They felt it would give the public the greatest opportunity to watch, come out, support and get involved.”

Maina Attacks Presidency, Says Bigger Thieves Working With Buhari

Abdulrasheed Maina, embattled former Chairman of defunct Pension Reform Task Force Team, PRTT, has alleged that bigger names involved in the looting of public funds are in the Presidency with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Maina, who made the allegation also maintained that the anti-corruption fight championed by the Buhari-led government has not achieved result because those around him are lying to him.

Speaking with The Sun, Maina said, “The unfortunate thing is that some people around him (President) whom he has trusted are lying to him. I can attest to this and I can give you instances and documentary evidences. People portray themselves as if they are saints. It is a lie; they are not. We know it and that is why they are after my life.

“Why is it that the former SGF and other big personalities accused of stealing monies, including big personalities in the Villa, nobody is talking about them? Maina who is just a deputy director whom the Minister of Justice has said the DSS has cleared of any wrongdoing.

“The National Security Adviser has cleared me of any wrongdoing. His office has also cleared me. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution has cleared me of any wrongdoing and that I have no case to answer and then a small unit under the ministry will come and start fighting me for N2.1 billion.

“So are we trying to fight corruption in Nigeria or diverting attention by lying to Mr. President? Listen to me, Mr. President would have achieved more than what he has achieved. But because they are lying to Mr. President because they hate Maina, he won’t be able to achieve more.

“You hate me. I know why you hate me. You hate me because I am somebody who is bold. I know how to fetch the money. I know how to follow the money. We have talented people in Nigeria. Let’s start harnessing these talents and stop all these bickering and stuff out of the system. Nigerians have elected a very decent man as president and has given you the trust, please stop lying to him. Speak the truth and let’s move forward. We have so much to recover.”

Argentina captain, Lionel Messi has disclosed major problem of the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their group game in the 2018 World in Russia.

Messi described the senior national team of Nigeria as inconsistent in terms of how they approach games.

The Barcelona superstar scored twice, the last time Nigeria faced Argentina at the World Cup, which was at the 2014 edition in Brazil.

Grouped alongside Nigeria, Croatia and Iceland, Messi was asked by FIFA online to analyse the strength and weakness of the team in the same group as his country Argentina.

Speaking on the Super Eagles, Messi said, “One day they score four goals, the next one, they leave plenty of space for you to do anything.”

Speaking further, he said, “It might seem easy, but Iceland are tough and well organised while “Croatia, they give you more room to play but they have great players.”

The Super Eagles and Argentina will meet on June 26 in the final round of group games at the Russia World Cup 2018.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (DECEMBER PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*BEYOND THE PHYSICAL APPEARANCE .*

Saturday, December 16th .
Pastor Chris

_*Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).*_

When we say, “…as he (Jesus) is, so are we in this world,” the picture that comes to the mind of some is the build, height, complexion, hair or the physical characteristics of the man Jesus, while He was on earth. It’s much more than that. Our semblance is with the resurrected Christ, the glorified Jesus.

Yes, before His resurrection, He worked wonders and performed mighty miracles. He commanded the deaf ears to be opened, the blind eyes to receive sight, maimed limbs to be made whole and raised the dead back to life. But notice that John the apostle didn’t say, “as he was, so are we in this world”; that would have been wonderful. But, the Spirit carefully used the word “is” showing us that we’re just as He is, in His present state; in His glorified state. Hallelujah!

The impressive thing about His appearance isn’t His beards, complexion, or height; it’s the glory and the life emanating from Him, so much so that at such instance, you don’t even remember the fleshly description. You’re absorbed into His glory. Read it again: it says, “as he is,” in other words, as He is the resurrected, ascended, triumphant and glorified Christ, so are we in this world. Such blessedness!

That’s why it’ll be amiss to try to figure Jesus out in a Jewish body, or to even be flesh and body conscious. Be spirit conscious. Don’t appraise yourself by your physical appearance; you’re glorified just as Jesus. He’s not recognised in the flesh (Luke 24:15-16, 31, 35). So don’t describe yourself by your earthly nativity or human affiliations.

See yourself in Him and as the glory of God: _*“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; …”*_ (John 17:22). Romans 8:30 says, _*“Moreover whom he did predestinate…them he also glorified.”*_ 1 John 3:2 says, _*“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”*_ We may not look like Him outwardly, but that doesn’t matter. We’re right now the sons of God like Jesus; inwardly, in our spirits, we already look like Him. Blessed be God!

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, I thank you for showing me the truth of who I am in Christ. As Jesus is, so am I in the world. I’m glorified, and conscious that the life of God is in me, and evidently manifested in and through me. Thank you for making me the effulgence of your glory, and the revelation of your righteousness, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *John 3:13* And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven. *||*

*||* *1 John 3:2* Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. *||*

*||* *Hebrews 2:11* For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified [are] all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, *||*

I affirm that the Spirit of God has gone ahead of me to make every crooked path straight; therefore, there's no shame, failure, frustration and lack in my path. I can never be unfruitful or barren in my walk of faith because I am connected to the true vine. The same life that flows in Jesus, is the same life that is at work in me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The greater One lives in me, and He’s made me bigger, greater, and superior to inflation, insecurity, sickness, disease, and all the wiles of the devil. Hallelujah! I am in Christ; therefore, I am far removed from the rudiments of this world. Daily, I walk in the dominion of the Spirit and the Word. I am vitalized, quickened and energized in my physical body by the Spirit of God that dwells in me. I am prevailing with, and by, the Word! There is no stopping me; of my progress, influence, relevant, prosperity and increase; there shall be no end! Glory to God.

Punch Metro reports that the Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Maihajja, made the disclosure while receiving a fresh batch of 116 Nigerians who arrived the country on Friday morning.

The new set of returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos aboard a Buraq Airlines with Registration Number 5A-WAC at about 5.39a.m.

No fewer than 3,000 Nigerians have voluntarily returned from Libya through the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) supported programme in the last few months.

Maihajja, represented by Alhaji Suleiman Yakubu, the South-West Zonal Coordinator, said that the Nigerians returned in various batches between Dec.5 and Dec.15 with the assistance of the IOM and the European Union (EU).

According to him, the figure has already surpassed the 1, 295 Nigerians who voluntarily returned from Libya in the month of November. Maihajja said that the Federal Government would continue to work with the international organisations to ensure the return of more Nigerians from Libya where they had been facing severe hardships and rights violations.

They comprised 46 adult females, 60 adult males and 10 children and infants. Also, on ground to welcome the returnees were officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Police.

“We have paid Kiss Daniel over 120million naira.”
User Avatar Forum: Music

The contract saga between award-winning singer, Kiss Daniel and his former record label, G-worldwide is not nearly over.

Recall, it was reported how Kiss Daniel earned 30k monthly salary for a long time and how he legally terminated his contract a few months back.
In case you missed it, the label stated that the singer is in breach of contract and is evading court papers, his legal team, L&A Associates then released an exhaustive statement detailing Daniel’s dealings with the label, the unfair treatment of their client and more.
G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd had dragged Kiss Daniel to court for “taking steps to appoint a new manager, solicit for bookings, and has continued to negotiate and enter performance agreements in respect of the songs from the album “New Era,” and “Evolution” which is set to be released soon.”In the statement released by Kiss Daniel’s lawyers, they said he only terminated the contract as he was permitted to do under the contract.

The contract was drafted by G-Worldwide, the lawyers wrote, and they inserted a termination clause in the contract, which Kiss Daniel activated.

Now, LIB has revealed in new investigation into the on-going saga between Nigerian pop star, Kiss Daniel and his former label, G-Worldwide as the label finally opened to react to recent reports from the singer’s camp.

Below is a detailed reaction from the Emperor Geezy led G-Worldwide records on the Kiss Daniel issue as reported by LIB;

There has been a lot of misinformation in the media as to the background of Kiss Daniel’s wrongful exit from G-Worldwide Entertainment; firstly the management of G-Worldwide Entertainment wishes to state it had never been its intention to seek legal redress, nor join issues with an artist who we fear is being given bad legal advice. However, we feel it is important that we set the records straight for the benefit of the general public and others who are interested in knowing the truth.

We would like to reiterate that our organization’s sole mission is to scout, develop and promote artists till the point where both partners become profitable and the artiste can then decide to continue their creative journey as they deem fit. Contrary to widespread insinuations (and though we love a good joke) we are not a slave camp and we have no time whatsoever held any of the talents on our roster against their will.

The issue of restrictions on collaboration by our artists is one which has been well flogged and one we will address immediately – our management policy is unique in that we look for innovative ways to position our artists to build and own their sound and brands before seeking to collaborate with artists from other labels.

To make this work, we train and develop our artists in a way that ensures that their first albums are well composed and delivered in a way that gives them the platform to sell their art as strong individual brands. This strategy is not without its results as is evident from Kiss Daniel’s debut album “New Era” receiving many positive reviews and landing the 8th place on the Billboard’s World Album Chart within a week of release.

The Nigerian music industry is very competitive, and as such, it is pertinent that players in the market develop unique strategies to break in and remain relevant. The New Era album of Kiss Daniel therefore only contained collaborative efforts with his label mate Sugarboy. However, on the soon to be released album ‘Evolution’ by Kiss Daniel, we have worked with other talents such as Phyno and Olamide. Sugarboy has also collaborated with Y-Cee on a song due to be released in January 2018.

There have also been issues raised that the company has not made available its books of accounts to Kiss Daniel, leading to him filing an action at the Lagos State High Court seeking an order granting him access to the books of the company.

Whilst our lawyers have filed the necessary papers to strike out the suit, it is pertinent that we briefly note that at no time have we denied the artiste or his lawyers access to our books. With the facts we have, it is our belief that the suit is a ploy to misdirect the public away from his untimely and unlawful exit from the company.

The label has records of email correspondence with Kiss Daniel where he and his representatives at different times requested for books of the company and same were supplied to them.

All these have been placed before the court in response to the suit filed by the artist at the Lagos State High Court. Until now neither he nor his representatives have responded to papers filed challenging the competence of that suit. Sadly too, even though Kiss complained about access, in another breath he has admitted the audits held by his accountants and the label’s accountant.

Apart from the above, there have been rumours that Kiss Daniel has been on a monthly stipend of NGN 50,000 (Another great joke if we ever heard one). It is a known fact that such amounts will be insufficient to find and retain a decent apartment in Lagos nor cater for the lifestyle of any Nigerian celebrity.

Kiss Daniel, contrary to that rumour, has received substantial allowances over the last two and half years. In 2013, he was offered a 360 deal, and the terms of the initial contract have been reviewed twice in his favour, whilst the company has had to bankroll obligations relating to advertising, promotions, music production, videos, trips, wardrobe etc. at different times.
Indeed, the company has been quite flexible with our remuneration policies with the belief that he will be able to build a solid financial base for himself. For the avoidance of doubt the following are some details of how the label catered for his financial needs as well as his personal welfare:

1. Contrary to rumours making the rounds that Kiss Daniel was only on NGN 30,000 salary since he joined the label up until after the release of the Woju and Laye singles, this is nothing but falsehood. Before the release of those singles in 2014, Kiss Daniel was being paid a monthly allowance of NGN 30,000 to cover basic personal costs whilst he was still in his father’s house in Kuto, Abeokuta, he was also given a medical allowance of NGN 150,000 and other unrecorded stipends whilst no revenue was being generated by him. This remained the norm while the label invested heavily in recording sessions, productions, transportation, and other costs associated with developing him as an artist.2. Loans of up to NGN 550,000 were given to him within 2 weeks of his signing onto the label for him to get a car for his mom to start a Taxi business. There are documents to back this. In addition following his request for financial support for his dad’s burial, G-Worldwide released the sum of NGN 200,000 to him which was exactly what Kiss Daniel requested for. As recent as October 2017, he again requested for a loan to run his account in order to acquire a house for himself under a mortgage, to this end the company released NGN 13,000,000 (Thirteen Million Naira) to him though the company was not obligated under the contract to do so.

3. As per the contract between Kiss Daniel and G-Worldwide, the label was meant to recoup its investment before any royalty-sharing was to commence; the only provision available for the artiste was allowances and loans which would be at the discretion of the label. In June 2015 following his return from his UK tour, the company amended the contract and immediately began the payment of royalties as agreed and from that time till the wrongful termination of his contract. G-Worldwide has paid Kiss Daniel the sum of NGN 117,233,318 (One Hundred and Seventeen Million, Two Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand and Three Hundred and Eighteen Naira) as royalties from performances alone, he has also received money from other incomes to the sum of NGN 3,296,826.40 (Three Million, Two Hundred and Ninety Six Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Six Naira and forty kobo) for the financial record of 2016 as opposed to the false allegations made by him and his lawyers (The company’s books of account support this) As it stands, Kiss Daniel owes G-Worldwide Entertainment quite a large sum of money for the financial year due to end in 2018.
4. Following the signing of the contract in 2013, Kiss Daniel moved into an apartment furnished by the label in April 2014 in Lekki Lagos and only moved out in October 2015. Despite the terrible picture painted by Kiss Daniel to the media, the label actually during that period undertook the payment of all the bills in the said apartment, including waste, power, service charges, feeding, etc.

5. We have also noted the falsehood that at the time of his father’s demise, the label barred him from attending the burial. Let it be on record that immediately the news of his father’s demise filtered in, Emperor Geezy, CEO of the label authorized that his own personal car is used to convey Kiss Daniel to Abeokuta to attend and be a part of his father’s burial. The label CEO’s brother even accompanied him on this trip, as well as one of the label’s staff. Interestingly on arriving at a hotel in Abeokuta which had been fully paid for by the label, he refused to attend his own father’s burial on the grounds that he believed that his family are fetish and were responsible for his father’s death.

6. In response to the claim that Kiss Daniel was barred from supporting other artists, especially those who supported him and the label at the New Era album launch, we would like to put it on record that at no time has the label barred him from performing at events where friends in the industry have asked for his support. We understand the importance of collaborative efforts in a fledgling industry such as ours. Kiss Daniel, however, has made it a habit to turn up at events late or not at all, always blaming the label for his truancy. Clear examples include his failure to appear at the Reekado Banks album listening party at Hard Rock Café and the recent 2Baba Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless Concert on 22nd of October, 2017 at Eko Hotel. He did this even when 2Baba had provided two separate accommodations for him and his manager Louiza Williams at Eko Hotels, and the label had covered other logistics costs. He stood up 2Baba and manager after claiming he was on his way from 6pm till 1am the next day. He repeated the same show of shame at the Chronicles of Ushebebe and Soundcity’s 2016 MVP Awards. His excuse always being that the label has restricted him from supporting other talents in the industry. His favourite saying: “You know I’m signed to a label na, I’m not my own boss yet”. One should wonder why his manager would be at these venues to liaise with the event organizers before his arrival if he wasn’t approved by the label to be at those events. His usual play was to ask the manager if money is involved and once she says “no we are going to support” he will either not take his calls once she’s around his house for takeoff, or switch off his phones and later complain that he was not feeling too well or had an urgent meeting at Abeokuta.Last year, many people wondered how we managed to pull off such a massive concert for his New Era album launch with no support from any organization. That event which included the lease of the prestigious Eko Hotels with over 20 superstars was one of the most expensive projects the company ever embarked upon.

Nevertheless, we understand that artists grow with their songs and popularity, and may eventually seek an early exit. That being said, a contract between two parties is a legally binding arrangement and both parties having deployed resources to perform obligations thereunder must ensure that the contract is executed or terminated in line with its terms and conditions.

G-Worldwide’s contract with Kiss Daniel simply put, allows for the artiste to exit, but in so doing, he is duty bound to repay to the company all monies expended by the company in furtherance of the contract and all losses; including losses suffered from the cancellation of fixed events and shows by reason of the termination. The contract is also expressly clear on the fact that intellectual property rights to all the songs produced under the contract including the stage name of the artiste are properties of the company. We know that so far, Kiss Daniel has kept these facts away from the public; choosing to resort to cheap blackmail and whipping up emotions. We will not take this route as a responsible company and this is why we are in court.

We have done our best not to harp on the history of his recalcitrance. Nevertheless, we are harassed by different lawyers (his present lawyer is the fourth) with outrageous demands, but we have retained the opinion that some terms cannot be imposed on us. Most recently in October, he demanded going forward, 100% of revenues from his performances and endorsements even while he understands his level of indebtedness to us and the terms of the contracts. When he was referred to the contract terms, his response was to serve us a termination notice without even following the stipulations for termination under the contract. He thereafter announced his personal record label in less than nine (9) days after the undue notice and has since been soliciting bookings and infringing on G-Worldwide intellectual property rights by performing songs from the ‘New Era’ album and the yet to be released ‘Evolution’ album. This is the reason for the Federal High Court order of the 30th November 2017 stating that “both parties are ordered to maintain status quo ante bellum under the recording contract pending the hearing of the motion on notice.”Law abiding organizations and business concerns have either contacted us for clarity, which we have provided through our solicitors, Calmhill Partners. Other well advised entities have in support of the rule of law and sanctity of contracts, terminated their engagements with him or removed him from performance schedules. The Nigerian musical industry we believe will learn and grow from this incidence.

We have put everyone who wishes to contract Kiss Daniel on notice and advise that you should not allow yourselves be misinformed about the subject matter or be swayed by his misrepresentations or lack of capacity to perform some of the songs that he has been contracted to perform. Whilst we look forward to a speedy dispensation of justice in the matter before the Court, we reiterate our advice that event organizers should consult their lawyers to avoid being complicit in the offence of acting in contempt of court.

It remains illegal to deal with Kiss Daniel directly instead of G-Worldwide Management pending the hearing of the suit in Court.[Image: imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bellanai...mrc&uact=8][Image: Kiss.jpg][Image: kiss-daniel-naijaloaded.jpg]

Nigeria Has Second Largest HIV Epidemic Worldwide
User Avatar Forum: Health Wise
Posted by: trustangel - 12-15-2017, 07:31 PM - No Replies

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has reported that Nigeria purportedly has the second largest HIV epidemic in the world and has one of the highest new infection rates in sub-Saharan Africa.

This is just as it said 720,000 Nigerians are on United States PEPFAR-supported HIV treatment with approximately four million Nigerians having received HIV counseling and testing services in 2017 alone. The acting Public Affairs Officer of the United States Consulate, Kevin Krapf, made this disclosure during the commemoration of the 2017 World AIDS day held in Lagos.

The commemoration was organised by the consulate in collaboration with the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) led by the Provost, Professor Babatunde Solagberu.

With the programmed theme: 'Increasing Impact through Transparency, Accountability and Partnerships', Krapf said it reflects the US government longstanding leadership in addressing global HIV/AIDS, increasing our impact to move epidemics from crisis toward control.

He said: "It also highlights the historic opportunity to accelerate progress toward controlling, and ultimately ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic as a public health threat in countries around the world."Finally, it emphasises the critical role of transparency, accountability, and partnerships in reaching these goals.

"According to the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), Nigeria has the second largest HIV epidemic in the world and has one of the highest new infection rates in sub-Saharan Africa.

"Many people living with HIV in Nigeria are unaware of their status due to insufficient recommended number of HIV testing and counselling centres.

"Low access of antiretroviral treatment remains an issue for people living with HIV in Nigeria, and I welcome the new commitment of the Federal Government of Nigeria to use domestic funds to provide antiretroviral drugs to an additional 50,000 people living with HIV each year.

"The US government, through PEPFAR, has helped not only to save and improve millions of lives, but also transformed the global HIV/AIDS response.

"Currently, more than 720,000 Nigerians are on PEPFAR-supported HIV treatment and approximately four million Nigerians have received HIV counselling and testing services in 2017.

"Also, approximately 50,000 pregnant women have received antiretroviral drugs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV." Krapf added: "We are at an unprecedented moment in the global HIV/AIDS response. For the first time in modern history, we have the opportunity to change the very course of a pandemic by controlling it without a vaccine or a cure.

"Controlling the pandemic will lay the groundwork for eliminating or eradicating HIV which we hope will be possible through the future scientific breakthroughs which will lead to an effective HIV vaccine and cure.

"The US government continues to lead the way in the global HIV/AIDS response. But no one country or entity alone can end the AIDS pandemic.

"We are proud to partner governments, the private sector, philanthropic organisations, multilateral institutions, academic institutions, civil society and faith-based organisations, people living with HIV and many others in this project.

"Through this collective effort, we also expect to reduce the future costs required to sustain the HIV/AIDS response."

It further said: "To accelerate progress toward HIV/AIDS epidemic control, PEPFAR continues to leverage the capabilities, assets, and technological know-how of the private sector, creating innovative solutions to complex problems."

While thanking the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency for conducting a state-wide aggressive campaign, counselling and HIV/AIDS testing through its mobile clinic initiative, Krapf said theirdetermination to ensure a zero prevalence of HIV in the state aligns with the strategic plan of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

He also commended the Society for Family Health for providing quality health services to Nigerians, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju has reiterated the commitment of the University to becoming an incubation centre for Agripreneurs and agricultural practitioners as catalysts for national economic development.

Speaking during the launch of Landmark University Rice on the 23rd November, 2017 at the Landmark Commercial Farm Sales Centre, the Vice-Chancellor said the University’s blueprint for the agro-enterprise accommodates a full-fledged rice processing mill for a large-scale rice production.

“Production of rice is a value addition to our context. We did not stop at just planting and harvesting but have gone into packaging for the local and national market. It is a confirmation of the reality of continuous rice production and the increased capacity for teaching and research in cereal production,” he stated.

He recalled that this phase of rice production was flagged in August, 2017, adopting the Sawah eco-technology introduced by the National Centre Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin. He said with this success, the University is expanding the hectrage of both upland and lowland in the next phase.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated God for the milestone which he described as a fulfilment of God’s plan for the University in actualising her vision. In the same vein, he commended the efforts that went into the reality and further called on all stakeholders for more support towards developing other products that will enhance the vision of the University for a Global Impact.

The Director of Landmark University Farms, Dr John Izebere while appreciating the passion of the Vice-Chancellor for the actualisation the University’s agrarian vision in terms of product development, expressed happiness over the milestone.

While commenting on the development, the Director said 3 of the equipment used in the processing of the rice were fabricated by a Landmark University graduate of Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering, Mr. Clinton Okonkwo who is currently undertaking his national youth service (NYSC) in the University’s Teaching and Research Farm.

"I feel great to be back home," he said. "Anyone who has stayed away from their respective home for an extended period of time will tell you that it is no fun being away from home.

"So much happens during your absence, in my case I lost a dear daughter Chiedza known to most people. Friends, relatives and family had to stand in on my behalf at her burial, a thing that I found extremely painful, but, however, life goes on.

"We are answering the call by the new President, Cde Mnangagwa, to come home, work with others in rebuilding our economy because Zimbabwe is going to be great once again."

Dr Makamba went into self-imposed exile in 2005, after being charged with violating the Exchange Control Act. He skipped bail and fled the country as the State prosecuted him on charges of allegedly externalising £3,7 million, US$2,1 million and R15 million.

Dr Makamba is an entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio of interests covering telecommunications, retail, mining and consultancy. He came to prominence as a disc jockey at ZBC and was part of a consortium that was awarded a licence to operate the country's second mobile operator Telecel. Ever since going into self-imposed exile, Dr Makamba has set temporary bases in several countries.[Image: James-Makamba1-W.jpg][Image: WhatsApp-Image-2017-12-13-at-09.55.13.jp...1090&ssl=1]

Father Mbaka: "Why Atiku Should Be President Of Nigeria In 2019"
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-15-2017, 07:17 PM - No Replies

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, of the Adoration Ministry, has declared that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar is the new blessing for Nigeria.
He said Abubakar has what it takes to “put smile on Nigerians suffering different marginalization,” if given the opportunity to rule the country in 2019.
Speaking in Enugu, the fiery preacher said the Waziri of Adamawa was advocating a “new order, a new paradigm shift in the government.”
Mbaka said, “Every political relationship is open for negotiations, without pre-set outcomes. Atiku do not fear negotiations, as democrat and businessman that is what reasonable human beings that love his people do. This is even more important if a stubborn resistance against negotiations can lead to unsavoury outcomes, which the present governments have demonstrated!
“For the Nigerian State to have a soul, the constituent parts need to renegotiate and rework the union. It is what will reduce to the barest minimum the feelings of injustice and poverty among Nigerians. It is what will make Nigerians believe that they chose this union willingly, ending effectively the theory of Lugardian contraption.
“It is a perfect antidote for peace. The times call for new ideas For creative solutions, for restructuring, for people to be happy, for people to have means of living, for people to love Nigeria again!
“Atiku is the only person that have contested and is still contesting for Nigerian presidency that love the youths more and have created more jobs for the youths to prove that more than most state government!
“Imagine what he will do when he have the power and resources to do more! Let’s pray that the blessing and protection of God to be with him to put smile in Nigerians suffering different marginalization!”

  Nigeria Vs Ghana

The Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Olufemi Michael Abikoye, has hit the ground running since resuming office in Accra in July. AMINA ALHASSAN chronicles his activities, one of which is attending the 7th Ghana- Nigeria Permanent Joint Commission meeting between 18th and 20th October, 2017 to cement and foster both bilateral and multilateral relationships that exists between Ghana and Nigeria.

Nigeria and Ghana have over the years, enjoyed good economic and political relations. They also have mutual respect for each other. However, what has happened between July 2017 and now is phenomenal, a plus to President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, which is anchored on positive change.

When a professional, who is committed and dedicated, is placed in a position of authority, the people will surely feel the impact and the society will be better for it. The positive results coming from Ghana today is very encouraging and a new dawn, not only in Nigeria-Ghana relations at governmental level, but a new lease of life for Nigerians living in Ghana because of the transformation that has taken place at the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana.

The man driving the change agenda of the Government of Nigeria in Ghana is a seasoned diplomat, Ambassador Olufemi Michael Abikoye, who arrived Ghana in the middle of July this year and presented his letter of Credence to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo on 18th August, 2017.

Like the good administrator that he is, immediately after presenting his letter of Credence, Ambassador Abikoye hit the ground running by cementing relationships with key stakeholders that could make his assignment a smooth sail in Ghana. Few months after, the positive results are visible.

As an experienced diplomat, days after taking his instrument of office, Abikoye paid a courtesy call on allies of Nigeria in the diplomatic community and also called on key government officials that will be instrumental in accomplishing his goal in Ghana. They include: Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu; DG, Ghana Immigration; Minister of Interior, Mr Ambrose Dery; DG of Ghana Prisons; the Director State, Protocol; Chief of Protocol and other key Ghanaian government officials.

The energetic High Commissioner has, within five months in office, visited five out of the 10 regions of Ghana to hold town hall meetings with Nigerians in Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Central, Western and Greater Accra Regions.

The strategy is to afford the High Commissioner the opportunity of meeting Nigerians at the grassroots level, garner information about various challenges confronting them and also serve as a platform of informing the communities of the developments back in Nigeria.

Not only did Abikoye meet communities in these regions, the High Commissioner also had an interface with officials as well as the Nigerian students in various tertiary institutions in the regions such as Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Garden City University, Kumasi, Catholic University College of Ghana, Sunyani, Brong Ahafo Region Cape Coast University (Central Regions) and University of Ghana, Legon (Greater Accra Region).Ambassador Abikoye used his diplomatic experience to negotiate the downward review of fees paid by Nigerian students, as this was a major challenge raised by the students when he met with them. The good news from this is that the management of the various institutions have given assurance that they would look into this request and give positive feedback.

Interestingly, the visit of the High Commissioner to the Ministers, Mayors, Regional Police Commanders, the paramount traditional rulers in the various regions, have paved the way for greater collaboration between Nigeria and Ghana.

The 7th Ghana- Nigeria Permanent Joint Commission, held between 18th and 20th October, 2017 was historic because it had been pending for a long period, but Abikoye's arrival made the meeting a reality. This is expected to cement and foster both bilateral and multilateral relationships that exist between Ghana and Nigeria. The other leg will be held soon in Nigeria.

The two countries are expected to sign nine MOUs and seven agreements including: Economic, Finance, Trade and Investments, Diplomatic Consultations, Immigration Service, Food & Drugs control as well as Treaty on Prison Transfer, Youths and Sports, Education, Culture, Transportation and Air Service developments.

Determined to make the Mission more accessible, Ambassador Abikoye revived the Nigerian Embassy website. There is no doubt that this will go a long way in assisting Nigerians living in Ghana to know the activities of the Mission and happenings in Nigeria.

A proactive personality, who understands that the future of Nigeria belongs to the youth, Ambassador Abikoye also took the time to visit all Nigerian- owned institutions in Ghana to entreat them to absorb the Nigerian students and their Ghanaian counterparts during their holidays for internship in order for them to be engaged productively during the period and further canvassed for permanent placement on graduation.

On consular matters, the High Commissioner has ensured issuance of Nigerian Passport/Visas within 48hours and immediate production of passports for students and Nigerians from far away regions. The Nigerian community in Ghana has commended this step. In addition, from the discussions the High Commissioner had with the DG, Ghana Immigration, visitors' visas for Nigerians are expected to be reviewed from 60 days to 90 days.

Ambassador Abikoye, in his five months as the High Commissioner, has visited all major companies with Nigerian interest in Ghana. The list includes banks such as: GTBank, UBA, Zenith, First Atlantic, Access; Energy and Insurance companies; RegencyNem, Equity, WAPIC. He also visited SIFAX Agency, Dangote Cement, Sahara Group among others.

In all the places visited, Abikoye admonished them to be good ambassadors in their dealings and to continue diligently in flying the Nigerian flag higher in their respective businesses.

The job of an Ambassador is not just to represent the interests of his country; it is a complex position which requires a man or woman with the right frame of mind, administrative acumen and intellectual capability, attributes which Ambassador Abikoye possesses. It is, therefore, not surprising that he has made a meaningful impact in just five months in office. However, with more work to be done towards improving the bilateral and diplomatic relationship of the two countries, Ambassador Abikoye is relentless in his resolve to make the Nigerian flag fly high in Ghana.[Image: Screen-Shot-2017-11-30-at-10.24.14-PM.png]

Rohr Considers Inviting Sokari for Friendly Against Poland

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is considering inviting CS Sfaxien midfielder Kingsley Sokari for the pre-World Cup friendly against Poland on March 23, 2018, according to reports.

Although respected Tunisian outlet Gnet has claimed that the playmaker will definitely be summoned by the Nigeria Football Federation for the friendly in Poland, it is known that the list will not be made public until the first week of March next year.

The former Enyimba star, dubbed the New Iniesta in his homeland, has consistently churned out brilliant displays in the Tunisian Ligue 1 in the ongoing season and has taken part in all but one of the games played by the club.

Sokari was named CS Sfaxien's Player of the Month for November 2017 and officially picked as Man of the Match in his team's 1-0 win over Metlaoui late November.

A product of Port Harcourt City Academy, Sokari starred for the Flying Eagles at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup and was on target from 25 yards out in their 4-0 win against Korea DPR.

He has full caps for the Super Eagles but has not been invited to the national team since the appointment of Gernot Rohr.[Image: Miro-worldcup.jpg]

Cameroon: Religious Leaders Call for Peace
User Avatar Forum: Religion
Posted by: trustangel - 12-15-2017, 06:22 PM - No Replies

Cameroon Christian and Muslim religious leaders are calling for peace and talks to end the crisis in English-speaking regions of the central African nation that has prompted secession calls.

The religious leaders say the crisis could add to the bloodshed from the Boko Haram insurgency in the north and the crisis in neighboring Central African Republic.

At Yaounde's Catholic cathedral, the Saint Anne choir sang for peace in Cameroon at an ecumenical service attended by all Christian denominations and Muslims. Among the hundreds of priests, pastors and imams is Chieck Mohamadou Muktar of the Etoudi central mosque in the Cameroonian capital.

"Every one of us must apply the command of the almighty God to live in peace, in harmony with the other people everywhere we are, and we must be all of us, without any distinction, ambassadors of peace," Muktar said.

Apostle Paul Keng of the Living Word fellowship, who spoke for Pentecostal denominations, said his greatest wish is for peace to return to Cameroon in 2018.

"All Cameroonians, come together on the table and let peace be on our nation, because nobody can develop a nation when there is war,” Keng said. “I am calling on our leaders that are in the position of influence to open their hearts to the Lord. Cameroon has a great destiny. Please come to the Lord, and God is more than able to do it. He is going to heal our land, so peace in Cameroon in Jesus' name."
Cameroon’s challenges

Cameroon has experienced few major challenges since its independence in the 1960s. But in the past several years, it has been enveloped by a bloody Boko Haram insurgency in the north, the spillover of the violence in the Central African Republic, and calls for secession in its English-speaking southern regions.

In the English-speaking southwestern towns of Eyumojock and Mamfe, attacks on military positions escalate by the day.

Alain Mukete, a 36-year-old resident of Eyumojock, says he supports the secessionists. He says he preferred to speak in French, so authorities in Yaounde would get the message that English speakers in the country, where French is also an official language, want their independence because they can no longer bear mistreatment by the French majority.

He says even if they are arrested, they will press for their independence. As a sign of dissatisfaction with the injustices they have suffered, he said, they have decided not to send their children to school. He says they have decided they must separate from French-speaking Cameroon, and when they have their independence they will reorganize their own school year and start over again.

Schools have been closed in most of English-speaking Cameroon for more than a year.

Separatists

In early October, the separatists declared the independence of a state they call "Ambazonia" and claimed Julius Ayuk Tabe, an information technology executive with the American University of Nigeria, was their president. Cameroon says many separatist fighters were going for training in Nigeria.

So far, the separatist fighters have killed at least 12 soldiers and policemen in the two English-speaking regions, according to the government. Residents and local newspapers say at least 20 soldiers have been killed. Dozens of the separatists have also been killed, and at least 40 suspects arrested.

Cameroon President Paul Biya declared war on the fighters, calling them terrorists.UN prepares

Last November, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees said it was working with the Nigerian government and other U.N. agencies on a contingency plan for humanitarian assistance to thousands of Cameroonians crossing into Nigeria as a result of tensions and fighting between armed separatists and government troops.

Nigeria and Cameroon are in a war with Boko Haram that has created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, with about 25,000 people killed and about 2.5 million displaced. Cameroon is also grappling with the crisis in neighboring CAR that has led to sporadic attacks on its territory by armed groups for supplies.

The clergy are calling for honest and sincere dialogue between the government and the separatists to stop what they say may be genocide in the making, but Biya has maintained that he is not open for negotiation with the separatists.

Court Stops El-rufai From Sacking 21,780 Kaduna Teachers

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Kaduna Division, has told the Kaduna state government to halt its planned sacking of 21,780 teachers.
The Kaduna government had said it would sack the teachers after they failed a competency test.
But the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) dragged the state government to court, asking it to stop the government from sacking the teachers over the test written in June.
Head of the teachers’ counsel, Samuel Atum, had filed a motion of “interlocutory injunction”, seeking stay of action pending the outcome of the case.
However, Justice Lawal Mani granted the application pending the determination of the substantive suit and adjourned the case to February 6th, 2018.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the court session, the plaintiff’s counsel lauded the court for graciously granting their prayers.
“I have confidence that the government will comply and obey this order,” the plaintiff’s counsel said.
“This is democracy and the premise of democracy is the rule of law, so we expect nothing more than absolute submission by the state government to comply with the order of the court.”

Nigeria transmits 5,156MW electricity, highest ever – Official
December 14, 2017
The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on Thursday disclosed that it recorded new national peak electricity transmission capacity of 5,155.9 Mega Watt, MW, on December 8.
The Interim Managing Director of TCN, Usman Gur-Mohammed, made the disclosure at an interaction with journalists in Abuja.
Mr. Gur-Mohammed said the new record exceeded previous national peak record of 5,074.70 recorded on February 2.
He said the nation’s average peak load capacity at the beginning of the year was about 4,000 MW.
He added that the Transmission Rehabilitation and Expansion Programme (TREP) which sought to decentralise significant aspects of project implementation to regions was designed to further increase the national peak transmission capacity.
He said TREP had attracted financing for several projects from donor agencies, adding that the completion of the projects would result in expansion of the grid transmission capacity to at least 20,000MW in four years time.
He also revealed that TCN engineers had been involved in installation of transformers at substations in the country.
The TCN interim boss explained that installations were accomplished at less than 10 per cent of the cost hitherto paid to contractors over the years.
According to him, the company successfully installed 10 transformers in Bauchi, Funtua, Ejigbo, Ajah, Gombe, Aba, Umuahia, Auchi, Damboa and Zaria, saying that installations by TCN engineers saved several millions of Naira.
He also revealed that TCN had resolved several challenging and slow implementing contracts within the year.
The contracts, according to him, include the Kukwaba subsation, Katsina-Daura line, Yawuri-Kafanchan, Mbalano-Ohafia-Umuahia, Nnewi-Onitsha and Maiduguri substations.
He said the completion of some ongoing projects would add about 1,000MW transmission capacity to the grid before January 31, 2018.
Mr. Gur-Mohammed also said that within the year, TCN entered into collaboration with several partners to reposition the company for better service delivery.
According to him, some of the collaborations include the Agip and NNPC joint venture in respect of towers 94 and 98 on Okpai-Onitisha DC line.
He noted that TCN was also collaborating with government of Japan on development of capacitor banks in Apo and Keffi substations and rehabilitation of Apapa, Akangba, and Isolo substations.
He said discussions were ongoing with Japan Government to rehabilitate Ikeja West and Ota substations.
He added that the European Union (EU) had also pledged to provide 25 million Euros grant to support TCN on solar Independent Power Plant (IPP) evaluation.

A driving instructor, identified as Festus Udoh, has narrated how he lured a 23-year-old National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member, Modupe Kawose, into a bush at Mawuko, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, raped and strangled her.

The corps member had enrolled in Lizzy Driving School, where the suspect was one of the instructors.

Udoh was paraded at the scene of the incident on Thursday by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed.

Narrating to reporters how he lured the victim to her death, Udoh said the victim had demanded her learner’s permit on Saturday and he told her to come for it at Lafenwa, also in Abeokuta.

According to the suspect, when Kawose arrived, he told her he had resigned from Lizzy Driving School, and that she should follow him to where the learner’s permit would be processed.

He said, “As she arrived Lafenwa, I told her to follow me to the place where I would process the permit for her.

“We boarded a vehicle and later took a bike to Iberokodo, and we alighted at a junction.
She was surprised and she asked, ‘Is this where you live?’

“As we entered the bush, I said I wanted to have sex with her, she said no.

“I dragged her into the bush and had sex with her. She threatened to inform her family.

“It was at this stage that I tore her cloth and used it to strangled her, tying it around her neck.”

The state police boss, also told newsmen that the Command’s operatives swung into actions when they received a letter of a missing person from the coordinator of the NYSC in the state, Mr. John Okoh.

He said, “We went for a powerful technical screening of fact left behind by the last person she made contact with, who is the suspect, and we were able to arrest him.”

The police commissioner said the suspect hailed from Uromi, Edo State, adding that the victim’s relations have been contacted.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (DECEMBER PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*YOU MIRROR HIM .*

Friday, December 15th .
Pastor Chris

_*Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).*_

The Lord Jesus gave us the clearest picture of God possible. In John 14:7-9, when Philip said to Him, _*“ …Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us,”*_ the Master gave a profound response. He said, _*“…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father.”*_ He wanted them to know that He was the express image of the Father—the clear example and expression of the Father’s character. So, back in Bible days, the disciples saw and knew the Father in Jesus.

Someone might say, “We aren’t as privileged as the disciples who were with Jesus as He walked the streets of Galilee, Nazareth, or Capernaum, revealing the nature and love of the Father; how then can we know the Father?” Yes, Jesus is in heaven, but He isn’t expecting that you physically see Him like those in His days did. That’s why He sent us the Holy Spirit: _*“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever”*_ (John 14:16).

The Holy Spirit lives in you today, taking the place of Jesus who is in heaven, and He looks, talks, acts, and loves exactly like Jesus. This is wonderful because just as Jesus mirrors the Father, being the express image of the Father’s person, the effulgence of His glory, you also are the icon of the Father. If today you want to see or know what God looks like, all you have to do is look at God’s mirror—His Word—and see Him in you. The Bible says as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

His very life, the very quality of His personality and the characteristics of His glory are all in you today. His beauty, aura and perfections are manifested in, and displayed through you to the world. Hallelujah!

*CONFESSION*

*Dear Father, thank you for your glory, beauty, aura and perfections are manifested in, and displayed through me. As Jesus is the effulgence of your glory and the exact representation of your person, so am I. I walk in this consciousness. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Hebrews 1:1-3* God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; *||*

*||* *John 17:22* And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: *||*

# AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 15TH DECEMBER.
I affirm that I am mightily blessed of the Lord! I am blessed in the city and blessed in the field. I am blessed in my going out and in my coming in. Everything that produces out of me is blessed; my words are filled with blessing, my ideas are blessed, my business is blessed, my ministry is blessed, my family is blessed. The LORD has commanded His blessings on my storehouse, and in all that I set my hand unto. There's no wilderness within or around me. The wilderness has become a fruitful ground and the dry land a river flowing ground. The window of heaven is opened on my behalf, and God is showering me with His blessings. The blessing of the Lord makes me rich; it drives away every sorrow, pain, and disease in my world. Hallelujah. I am flourishing on every side because I am an heir of God's blessings. The blessing of the Lord is evident in my life and all nations shall call me blessed because the Lord has made me a delightsome land unto Himself. Glory to God!

Catholic Church Speaks On Payment Of Tithe
User Avatar Forum: Religion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-14-2017, 06:32 PM - No Replies

The Catholic Church has shared its position on the controversial issue of payment of tithe raging in the country.
Speaking to Punch on the matter, the Very Rev. Msgr. Gabriel Osu, the director of Catholic Communication and the Apostleship of Prayer League of Sacred Heart of Jesus, pointed out that tithing was not a must and was purely voluntary in the Catholic church.
The Priest said in the Catholic church, members are not compelled to pay the tithe.
He said, “The first mention of a tithe in the Bible occurs in Genesis when Melchizedek, a king and a ‘priest of God Most High,’ offered a sacrifice of bread and wine in thanksgiving for Abraham’s victory over several enemy kings.
“As an offering to God, Abraham gave Melchizedek ‘a tenth of everything.’ (See Genesis 14.) In the Old Testament, the tenth of one’s bounty was customarily given to the priests in their service to God. The Torah (the law of God as revealed to Moses) prescribes the giving of tithes.
“A person offered to God, or ‘tithed,’ one-tenth of the harvest of the grain of the fields or the produce of fruit of the trees, one-tenth of new pressed wine and oil, and every firstborn animal of herd or flock (Leviticus 23 30-33.
“Deuteronomy 12:17. 14:22-29). The Bible book of Numbers also records how God prescribed that the Levites, the priestly class of the Jewish people, were entrusted with these tithes: (Number 18:21-24). Therefore, these tithes were contributions offered to the Lord and distributed to the Levites for their support.
“Payment of tithe, like other donations made in the Catholic Church, is not obligatory. This means that members are not compelled to pay the tithe. It is purely voluntary. Also, Catholics are under no obligation to pay a certain percentage of their income to the church as a tithe.
“In the early history of our church, the priests depended upon the generous support of congregations for their sustenance. This custom was based on the New Testament instruction: Jesus taught the apostles to depend upon charity when He sent them on a mission (see Matthew 10:10). St. Paul also instructed the early Church community to provide for the needs of their priests (I Corinthians 9:13).
“As cited in the Catechism (No. 2043), the precepts of the church maintain that each person has the duty to support the material needs of the church. Of course, a person fulfils this obligation according to his abilities.
“The Christian faithful are obliged to assist with the needs of the Church so that the Church has what is necessary for divine worship, for apostolic works and works of charity, and for the decent sustenance of ministers.
“They are also obliged to promote social justice and, be mindful of the precept of the Lord, to assist the poor from their own resources.”

Reno attacks Charlyboy for calling pastors, politicians with private jets ‘bastards’
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-14-2017, 06:30 PM - No Replies

Former aide to the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has lambasted Charly boy for calling pastors who own private jets ‘bastards’. Omokri said Pastors were not responsible for providing National air carrier, therefore, should not be blamed.
According to him, If pastors were ‘Conmen’ for having jets then Charlyboy is a ‘conman’ for also having a car when his state has no mass transit.
He urged the Areafada to challenge the governor of his state, Rochas Okorocha on wasting resources on erecting statues and creation of ministry of happiness instead of attacking pastors.
In his tweets, he wrote “I don’t get Charly Boy’s complaint about Nigeria not having a National airline yet pastors have private jets. Are pastors responsible for Nigeria not having a national airline? What is the connection? Is this senility? Are pastors the politicians that ruined Nigerian Airways?
“Charly Boy @Areafada1 calling pastors conmen because they have private jets while Nigeria has no national airline is like saying Charly Boy is a conman because he has a car yet his state has no mass transit bus system!
“Charly Boy @Areafada1, not all pastors are conmen. You are from Imo state. Face the real conman that is busy using your state’s resources to build statues for foreign leaders with no connection to Imo. And while you are at it, face your ‘Happiness Commissioner’.”

Video Tambuwal, Okowa, Wike, Ibori Meet In Delta (Photos)

Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal yesterday met with Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and former Delta State Governor James Ibori at Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The governors retired to the Delta State Government House after attending a showcase of Delta’s Youths Empowerment Programme.

Tambuwal, elected on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He defected to the APC at the last minute in 2015 to pick the ticket to run for governor. He won and succeeded Aliyu Wamako, who is now a senator.

Tambuwal has been speculated as one of those the PDP is prospecting as a possible presidential candidate in the 2019 election. He has not reacted to the speculations which gained more ground after last weekend’s PDP convention.

There was excitement as Okowa and Ibori rode into the venue.

The large crowd mostly PDP faithful broke into a chorus as they arrived for the products exhibition and business fair to showcase the Okowa administration’s youth empowerment programme. Many government functionaries also turned up.

The Okowa administration’s youth empowerment programme centres on its Skills Training &Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) and the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP).

The twin-scheme has trained 2,324 unemployed youths and established them in their choice enterprises.

Ibori recalled with nostalgia the day he transferred power on May 29 2007 Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He said: “I come into this arena Asaba Arcade with a great sense of nostalgia. I remember that it was at this venue on the 29th of May 2007 that I transferred power to Dr Eweta Uduaghan. Since that time, this is my first outing here and I am indeed very pleased that you have invited me to be with my people. Thank you very much for this opportunity”.

He praised Okowa for empowering the unemployed youths in the State, while endorsing the incumbent Gov. Okowa for a second term in office

He said, “The day the people of Delta made that choice to make you their governor, they did it knowing full well that you will deliver and thank God you are delivering. Let me place on record my gratitude to you for remembering our unemployed youths, because at the end of the day when you and I are gone, they will be the ones to take over.

”I might be watching from the sidelines, but today I want to make it abundantly clear again that you are doing very well .May God continue to guide you, give you peace and sharpen your vision so that at the end of your tenure in eight years so that Delta will be the best for it,”

Tambuwal arrived after the ceremony. He only joined to see the exhibition while Wike was part of the event.

At the end of the ceremony Tambuwal left for the Government House with Okowa and Ibori

Quote:The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated its preparedness to bury activities of opposition parties in the current political dispensation.

This was as it concluded arrangements to welcome former governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala; former Senate leader, Senator Teslim Folarin and former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Ayodele Adigun, to its fold on Saturday.

Others expected to join the party were Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, Honourable Segun Odebunmi, Mr Rauf Olaniyan, Honourable Ayoola Makanjuola, Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin, alongside their supporters, at a ceremony tagged “mother of all defections in the politics of Oyo State.”

This was made known through a statement issued in Ibadan on Wednesday by the state publicity secretary of the party, Olawale Sadare and made available to newsmen.

Sadare said some of the “political bigwigs” who had joined its fold since last year and a whole lot of others just coming in would be unveiled during a rally at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, on Saturday.

He added that with the calibre of those expected to join the party, it could be concluded that the battle over who takes over from Governor Abiola Ajimobi, would be fought and won only within APC.

"Shettima Is The Boko Haram Boss & The Keeper Of Chibok Girls" - Sheriff's Aide
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Quote:ABUJA—FORMER governor of Borno State, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, has weighed in on the recent allegations by his successor, Kashim Shettima, on the mishandling of abduction of the Chibok girls by President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media, Adams Kolo, the former national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, advised Governor Shettima to concentrate on governance and desist from all attempts to pull him down.

He said: “In Maiduguri, Governor Shettima cannot walk free on the streets, while Sheriff walks freely every day.

‘’In Maiduguri, the citizens know that Shettima is the Boko Haram boss and the keeper of Chibok girls.’’

Shettima had recently taken a swipe at ex-President President for surrounding himself with religious bigots and tribal warlords who made him believe that the Chibok girls’ abduction was a hoax.

He had said: “When the Chibok girls saga started, they made the President to believe that there was no abduction; that the Chibok girls were kidnapped by the governor of Borno State, ostensibly to embarrass the Jonathan administration and he believed that line of story.

‘’I was in Chibok, my wife was in Chibok and there was a global outcry on the issue but Jonathan was in a world of his own, created by the clowns and also the misfits around him. I wasn’t invited to Abuja until nearly three weeks later and even when I was invited to Abuja, I was quiet thrilled that at last I was getting the attention of my leader.

‘’I was asked to come along with Commissioner of Police, the Divisional Police Officer in Chibok, the Commissioner of Education, the Military Commander in Chibok and the Director of DSS in Borno.”

My Mission Is To Remove APC From Power - Dokpesi
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-14-2017, 03:05 PM - No Replies

Chairman of the National Reconciliation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)and Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, has urged PDP leaders and members to focus on regaining power in 2019.
Mr Fidelis Soriwei, the Special Adviser on Media Relations to Dickson, said the Governor made the call when he led members of Reconciliation Committee on a visit to the Chairman of DAAR Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, in Abuja on Wednesday.
Dickson said that while the past was important as a guide to shape the future, the PDP leaders and members had a responsibility to focus their energy on the challenges ahead.
He said the visit was to interact with Dokpesi and other leaders on ways to move the party forward.
He commended Dokpesi for his maturity and love for the party as shown by the statement he issued accepting the outcome of the convention and restraining his supporters.
“Now the convention has come and gone the way it did.
As party leaders, we know that even though it was a family contest, there was need to reach out to leaders who have played key roles in the party, and whose contributions moving forward would continue to be significant.
“We thought we should interact with you, to share ideas with you, to discuss some of the concerns and issues that have arisen after the convention.
“Primarily, it is not with a view to looking back as much as we would like all of us to focus on the future to see how we can get to our desired destination.
In his reaction, Dokpesi assured Dickson and the members of the committee of his determination to sustain his continuous support for the PDP.
He stressed that he would not withdraw his support from the party as a result of the events of Saturday 9 December Convention, which produced Chief Uche Secondus as National Chairman.
He said that his major mission was to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress from power in 2019.
Dokpesi recalled his pre-convention position that the outcome of the convention would be accepted since being Chairman was not a do or die affair.
“I believe that Nigerians will recall that I said that the convention and the election that we are going into was not a matter of life and death.
“I did say that I was conscious of the fact that power comes from God.
” I also said whoever emerges, I will give my unconditional support, to ensure that this party is able to fulfill its mission, to ensure that the challenges that are ahead can be overcome much more easily.
“I had defining moments where I would have on that Saturday made one or two statements that would have totally damaged the convention. But that is not my mission.
“My mission is to ensure that this present APC Government is removed out of office.
“So whatever were the shortcomings, I had already agreed and and I signed documents twice that I would unconditionally support whoever comes out of it.
“So here I am, I am willing, ready, prepared to allow the PDP have its breath. I pray for the PDP, I pray that we get it right,” Dokpesi said.
He assured the committee members of his continuous support to the PDP.
“I will not because of the events of that day withdraw my support from the party.
He commended Dickson for his commitment and sacrifices in ensuring the prevalence of peace within the PDP.
He noted that the committee’s visit was the first of its kind embarked upon by PDP leaders immediately after a national convention.

Fulani Herdsmen Strike In Ogun, Police Arrest Three With Arms
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Farmer wounded in grazing incident
• Security expert tasks govt on menace
Ogun State yesterday became the latest in the country to record another attack by herdsmen.
Three herders, who attempted to graze their cattle on a farm in Oke Odo, Ketu Local Council Development Area, were confronted by the owner, Ige Orisade. Infuriated by the challenge, the herdsmen allegedly assaulted the victim, who sustained serious injuries.
Following a tip-off, the trio of Mohammed Bello, 40; Mohammed Momoh, 30; and Yisau Umoru, 18, were later arrested by men of the state police command.
The media recently reported the killing by herdsmen of 10 persons in Kogi State. The governor’s security adviser, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara, however, disputed the figure, saying only one person died.
The latest attack has increased incidences of farmer-herdsmen clashes in several parts of the country, prompting some state governments to mull legislations curbing open grazing.
Ogun police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that following an argument, the herdsmen had macheted the farmer before fleeing. “On the strength of the information, the Area Commander, ACP Titus Musa, dispatched a team of policemen to the scene. The surrounding bush was thoroughly combed, in conjunction with a local vigilance group, at the end of which three suspects were arrested.
“We recovered from them one AK 49 rifle with serial number 513,49, 0.8mm live ammunition, 26 live cartridges and two cutlasses. Efforts are on to apprehend other suspects and recover arms from them.”
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed his men to fish out the fleeing members of the gang and also ordered immediate transfer of the suspects to the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad for thorough investigation, Oyeyemi added.
The Guardian gathered that yesterday’s attack was the 12th in the state this year.
The commander, Vigilante Service of Ogun State (VSO), Mr. Soji Ganzallo, said: “The herdsmen have been attacking our farmers. Most times, they invade farms and destroy crops, leading to skirmishes between them and the farmers. The attacks on our people are always serious. The herdsmen always stage reprisals whenever they have any face-off with farmers.
“They even attack farmers at night. We have always been rising to the occasion by getting them arrested. They have also been involved in armed robbery. Even women that go to their farms are raped. Sometimes, they kill them.”
The Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association could not be reached for comments, as the telephone line of its secretary, Mr. Aminu, was switched off.
Ganzallo added: “As a grassroots security outfit, we will continue to monitor all flashpoints where the herdsmen attack our people. For now, Igbo Ora road and Yewa axis are the flashpoints. Our officers are always alert. We have been arresting them and transferring them to the police. We are committed to the safety of our people and we will redouble our efforts.”
Dr. Ona Ekhomu, first chartered security professional in Nigeria and president, Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON), called on the Federal Government to address challenges posed by herdsmen urgently.
Speaking to The Guardian, he acknowledged that herdsmen have a right to graze their cattle, but said it should not be at the expense of farm owners because “if you do, that is trespass. And if you are confronted for trespass, you don’t have the right to fight back.”
He added: “It is an unfortunate circumstance having herdsmen attacking people on their farms. Perhaps there was provocation or loss of assets by the herdsmen. But if they attacked the farmer and macheted him and were later arrested for carrying weapons, then there is obviously weapon violation.
“The machete used, which caused the man serious bodily arm, is a weapon. The arms they were caught with are weapons. That is attempted murder. Nobody in this country, not even the president is above the law. Whether they are herdsmen or not, they don’t have the right to do that.”

OPEC: Oil Market To Balance Within A Year
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 12-14-2017, 02:58 PM - No Replies

The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has said supply and demand in the global oil market would likely balance out by the end of 2018 as a result of a pick-up in oil demand, particularly from the transport sector.
This is, however, coming as the cartel’s oil production fell to its lowest in six months but rival United States production was surging faster than expected, thus raising concerns that the market may not rebalance before the end of 2018.
OPEC said in its monthly Oil Market Report released yesterday that oil demand was projected to grow by 1.51 million barrels per day in 2018, compared to an already higher-than-expected 1.26 million increase in 2017.
With the projected increase in demand in 2018, OPEC said global demand would reach 98.45 million barrels per day next year, adding that “expansion in the transportation sector is expected to provide the bulk of oil demand growth”.
According to OPEC, expected strong economic expansion across the world will also underpin industrial and construction fuel demand.
The group noted that its crude production fell by about 133,500 barrels a day in November to 32.45 million barrels a day.
OPEC’s own crude oil output is likely to edge up to 33.2 mb/d next year from 32.8 this year, a smaller increase than previously thought.
OPEC and some non-members of the cartel, including Russia, last month extended an output cut agreement until the end of 2018 in the hope of re-balancing the oil market and underpinning the price of crude.
However, the output decrease last month was tied to other factors with domestic demand for Saudi oil declining in the winter and Angola and Venezuela facing production issues.
OPEC predicted that non-OPEC oil producers will pump around 990,000 barrels of crude oil per day more next year than this year as US shale oil producers ramp up output.
OPEC, however, said an overhang of global stocks would dwindle next year, “arriving at a balanced market by late 2018.”
Non-OPEC oil supply growth for 2017 now stands at about 810,000 barrels a day, representing an upward revision of around 150,000 barrels a day from the previous OPEC report.
For 2018, the forecast for supply growth outside the cartel was increased by about 120,000 barrels a day to around 990,000 barrels a day.

*A GREATER MOVE OF THE SPIRIT .*

Thursday, December 14th .
Pastor Chris

_*And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions (Joel 2:28).*_

These are the last days, and the Church of Jesus Christ is experiencing an unprecedented move of the Spirit. We’re seeing, and will yet see more phenomenal miracles of salvation, growth, healings, etc. The reason is simple: _*“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts”*_ (Haggai 2:9).

This is extraordinary, because even though the things we read in the Book of Acts are beyond human comprehension and imagination, to think that there’s still a greater glory ahead, and in our day, is absolutely mind-blowing.

Take Acts chapter 2 for example. The Bible says Peter preached and three thousand people gave their hearts to Christ at once. Luke records another phenomenal addition to the church in the fourth chapter: Peter and John preached, and about five thousand people who heard the message believed (Acts 4:4). How wonderful!

No wonder Peter, who was conscious of this glorious move of the Spirit and the very dispensation Joel prophesied about in Joel 2:28, reiterated those very words in Acts 2:16-17. He said, _*“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh….”*_ The “last days,” began with Peter’s preaching. In Acts 5:14-16, his very shadow touching the sick got them healed; even demons went out of those that they had bound.

We also read that _*“...God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them”*_ (Acts 19:11-12). Now, we’re at the ending part of the “last days.” If the beginning witnessed such glorious demonstrations of the power of God’s Spirit, then you can imagine what a time we’re in today in the calendar of God.

The Church today is far more enlightened, positioned, and equipped for greater impact. Believe and expect a greater move of the Spirit in these last days as the scriptures declare: _*“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former….”*_

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, thank you for the presence of your Spirit on earth, and His greater move in the lives of many around the world today. Indeed, your glory fills the whole earth; your power is touching lives all around the world, and your righteousness is revealed, more than ever, in expectation of our Lord’s soon return. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Isaiah 43:18-19* Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert. *||*

*||* *Joel 2:23-32* Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first [month]. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I [am] in the midst of Israel, and [that] I [am] the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. *||*

# AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 14TH DECEMBER.
I affirm that the Lord is my source! I am connected to a source that can never run dry. I am joined to the Lord, and I have become one spirit with Him. I am like a well-watered garden, fruitful at all times. I am the fruit-bearing part of God’s vine and I am producing durable fruits; fruits of righteousness because I am a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord. There’s no failure or defeat on my path! I am a possessor of all things, being an heir of God's blessings, and a joint-heir with Christ. Hallelujah. Down in my heart is the nature of the Father! I have the life of God in me; the same life that Jesus has, flows in every fibre of being. That life in me destroys, paralyzes, and renders ineffective the works of the devil and his attempts on my health, assignment, family, finances, and business. I am established by God in the path of greatness, and I live and walk in the reality of my inheritance in Christ. Glory to God!

How Kiss Daniel earned monthly salary of 30k, missed his father’s burial and got bloc
User Avatar Forum: Music

Kiss Daniel is currently embroiled in a legal battle with his former record label, G-Worldwide. Their case is already in court and the media is filled with reports, insinuations, court documents and some facts.
[Image: screenshot-www.fotor_.com-2017-12-13-09-39-29-482.png]
While the legal battle is still on, more revelations have been made from Kiss Daniel’s stay and contract brouhaha while still at his former label, with him being placed placed on a monthly salary of 30,000 per month all through the success of his hit single ‘Woju’  being the shocker.

Here’s what LIB exclusively reported;

Since the story broke, we has been digging and talking to both parties involved and while the key players are avoiding the media as well as being quoted, their aides and sources close to them are talking.
Our investigations revealed that contrary to the denials by G-Worldwide in the press, Kiss Daniel was actually placed on a monthly salary of 30,000 per month all through the success of his hit single ‘Woju’.
A highly placed source who spoke to LIB on condition of anonymity said,
‘From the beginning of his contract (a 7 years and 5 album contract) he wasn’t placed on any percentage rather Kiss Daniel was placed on a monthly salary of 30,000 (thirty thousand naira) up until ‘Woju’ remix was released then it was later increased to 50,000 (fifty thousand naira) before he insisted on a review of his contract in 2015 and by the second quarter of 2015 he began to receive 40% of his performance fees.
All the while he was collecting 30k, the boy already had a monster hit song ‘Woju’ and was raking in millions of naira’.

[i]We asked for specifics to be sure of the period Kiss Daniel stopped collect 50,000 naira as salary and our source said, ‘I really can’t place the date but I’m sure he was on that salary till after the release of ‘Laye’.
[/i]

The song ‘Laye’ was  released in May 2015

Our investigations also revealed that Kiss Daniel though wasn’t legally barred from collaborations, his record label vehemently stood against it, ‘the label categorically banned him from doing collaborations and made it look like he’s the one avoiding it.

Or have you also seen his label mate, Sugarboy on any collaborations? The industry can testify to it, i won’t mention names but we all know. All the superstars who came to support Kiss Daniel at his album listening party, he couldn’t payback the favour when they needed him because the label prevented him from doing so. Basketmouth even had to block him on Instagram because Kiss was supposed to do a show for him but his label refused and Basketmouth got angry thinking Kiss Daniel was the one playing games with him’.

We further learnt that the relationship between Kiss Daniel and his record label was filled with so much tension, hate, frustration and animosity  as our source revealed that, ‘Kiss Daniel couldn’t even make it to his own father’s burial because his label threatened him’.

We asked how? and they said, ‘on the day of his father’s burial, he already had a show that was booked and his label told him they don’t care about his father’s burial but he had to attend the show else he’ll get sued. At that time, Kiss Daniel was still on a monthly salary of 50,000 and two days before his father’s death, his kid brother was also involved in accident that left him unconscious for weeks. The label only gave him 200,000 to buy ‘coffin and fry puff puff’ our source said.

Till date, we gather that Kiss Daniel has made no income from any digital sales of his music, no income from his endorsement apart from the 40% he makes from shows. The label didn’t also provide him with an apartment or cars.
Though he stays in his own house and own a couple of choice rides, we gather that he’s had to pay for the official car that was used to move him around in the early days of the career which has since been given to the younger brother of his recrod label boss, Emperor Geezy.

Where Is The $65bn Obasanjo Left In Excess Crude Account?’ Amaechi Fires At GEJ
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 12-13-2017, 11:22 AM - No Replies

Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, has fired yet another shot at former President Goodluck Jonathan.

This comes less than a week after the minister said the time to stop blaming Jonathan had come.

Speaking with NAN in Lagos, Amaechi said former President Olusegun Obasanjo left $65 billion in the excess crude account but it was frittered away.

WHAT IS EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT?

It is an account used to save oil revenues above an amount derived from a defined benchmark price. ECA was established in 2004. Its objective is primarily to protect planned budgets against shortfalls due to volatile crude oil prices.
Amaechi said the wastage in the PDP era was alarming.

“When Obasanjo was leaving, he left about 65 billion dollars in the excess crude account, but this money was frittered away and we wonder where the money is,” he said.

“As at then, the price of crude oil during the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration hovered around 140 dollars with this, they did not leave anything for the incoming government.

“With that kind of money, we should be thinking of connecting Nigeria through rail system. The rail between Ibadan to Kano would have been completed.

“Also the rail gauge between Port Harcourt to Maiduguri and Lagos to Calabar, but all the excess crude money was frittered away, we need to ask questions.”

Amaechi said his pursuit for change made him to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He added that he would have used his position as the then chairman of PDP governors’ forum to fight the situation but he felt there was a need to cross over to APC because of his belief in President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I moved from PDP to APC because I am tired of what is happening in the party, I have the option to stay because of my position as the chairman of the governors then,” he said.

“I can use my position to fight them (PDP) and get what I want because I believe Nigeria was not going in the right direction by then.

“My attention and belief shifted to Buhari which was the viable alternative, I believe in the change mantra because it is the only way to improve on what is on ground.

“He has not disappointed because the economy is now back on track and is growing. This is evident in the current prices of food items because it’s getting lower.”

Amaechi said that prices of food would further crash because of the efforts of the government at making the country self-sufficient in food production.

“With the change going on, the price will further crash because before this government came in, the price were soaring because we were importing food items, things we can grow here,” he said.

“Now the policy of government is working which banned the importation of rice, the price is now about N16,000, but before now, we are importing about N3 billion worth of rice.

“Before now too, we were importing another N3 billion worth of poultry products, we are importing tomatoes but with the ban, we are now concentrating on our local production.

“Many states in the northern part of the country are now growing rice in large quantities though by right, the south-south geo-political zone should be doing that because they are the ones in the swampy area.”

Saraki Reacts To Appeal Court Judgement Ordering His Retrial
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 12-13-2017, 11:18 AM - No Replies

Quote:The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has reacted to the decision of the Appeal Court sending him back to the Code of Conduct Tribunal to answer to three charges on false asset declarations.

Mr. Saraki said he is vindicated by the decision of the court to strike out 15 of the 18 charges levelled against him.

The Nigerian government had appealed the acquittal of the Senate President earlier this year by the CCT.

The tribunal had dismissed all 18-count allegations of false and anticipatory declaration of asset by Mr. Saraki.

At its sitting on Tuesday, the Court of Appeal ruled that Mr. Saraki did not sufficiently answer three of the charges.

In a statement by his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Mr. Saraki said the decision of the court further proves his innocence.

“We noted the verdict of the Court of Appeal Court today in which it agreed with the decision of the Code of Conduct Tribunal that Senate President, Bukola Saraki has no case to answer on 15 of the 18 charges filed against him by the Federal Government.

“We believe that upholding the no case submission by Mr. Saraki with regards to 15 of the 18 counts charges vindicates the innocence of the Senate President. At least, today’s judgement has confirmed the position of the Tribunal that the prosecution’s case was entirely based on hearsay, not on any concrete evidence.

“The verdict of the Court of Appeal, just like that of the Tribunal before it, aligned with our position that the preposterous claims made during trial by the prosecution concerning operation of foreign accounts, making anticipatory declarations, collecting double salaries, owning assets beyond his income and failure to declare assets owned by companies in which the Senate President owns interests, among others, have fallen like a pack of cards and lack any basis,” Mr. Olaniyonu said.

The statement hinted that the Senate President would challenge the decision of the appellate court.

“On the remaining three counts, which really touch on two issues, referred back to the Tribunal for the Senate President’s defence, it should be noted that the Appellate Court only gave a summary of its decision today promising to provide the parties with certified true copies of the judgment soon. As soon as it makes the details of the judgement available, our lawyers will review the grounds of the decision and take appropriate action.

“We remain convinced about the innocence of the Senate President on the three (or two) counts because we believe the decision of the Court of Appeal is not consistent with the submissions made by both parties at the Tribunal. Thus, it is our view that that aspect of the judgment will not stand.

“The confidence and faith of Mr. Saraki in the nation’s judiciary and its ability to dispense justice to all manners of people remains unshaken.”
