Massive fraud discovered in the Presidential Amnesty Office

...As 2017/2018 academic session deployment to Nigerian universities is filled with non beneficiaries and ghost names
Retired Army Major Fingered as the Mastermind

Investigations have revealed that the 2017/2018 academic session deployment of Amnesty Beneficiaries to Nigerian universities was clouded with massive fraud and irregularities.

Sources from the Amnesty Office confirmed that the new Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof Quaker Dokubo, on assumption of office set up various committees to look into the current position of all sectors of the Amnesty Programme. During the most recent deployment of Amnesty Beneficiaries to Nigeria Universities, 1,061 delegates were deployed to 10 Universities.

The committee setup to review this was to amongst other things find out how the 1,061 students were deployed to the various institutions, 1) whether they are beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP), 2) whether their deployment followed due process and any other information that will assist the office.

The revelation uncovered by the committee was alarming. Out of a total of 1,061 delegates/students that were deployed to 10 Universities, only 314 delegates/students were found in the database of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. The committee discovered that the former Head of Education in the office, Major HK Mowarin (rtd), during the hand over process by the former Coordinator of the programme, Gen Paul Boroh (rtd), was compiling names of vulnerable youths and sending them to Universities without following due process.

The Requirements for consideration in the deployment of delegates/students to Universities or training facilities in the reintegration component of the Amnesty Programme are:
1. The delegate must be a beneficiary and must be in the database.
2. There must be a budget for the deployment.
3. The authorisation must be from the Special Adviser after management has given approval.
4. The letter of Sponsorship/Scholarship award to each delegate/student must be signed by the SAPND and not by proxy.

In the case under review, none of the conditions stated above were met. The whole process was initiated, and executed by the then Head of Education - Major Kesiena Mowarin Rtd.

As seen in the table below, a total of 1,061 students were deployed to 10 Universities in Nigeria. None of the 1,061 students has a Scholarship Award letter duly signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta & Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme. It was also observed that out of the 1,061 students deployed, only 314 students could be found in the database of the Presidential Amnesty Programme yet without a letter of sponsorship.
[Image: 7365602_capture_png78f16eee552a85331b9f4f38cd4a8a5f]
The deployment of 747 non-beneficiaries will cost the government not less than N1, 053,270,000.00 annually which was not budgeted for.
[Image: 7365603_1_png4a47a0db6e60853dedfcfdf08a5ca249]
The table below speaks for this position. It was also discovered that some of the Universities were claimed to be charging way more than what was advertised and submitted to the National University Commission as at the time of the said deployment. More worrisome is the fact that while some folios in the file that have to do with this process were removed, some files were totally missing. There was no record of the deployment in the Office of the Special Adviser on Niger Delta. The list of the said deployment was nowhere in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta & Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Equities Market Sheds 2% in Three Days
July 05, 2018 BUSINESS

The sustained bearish trading at the stock market has led to a decline by two per cent per cent in the past three days.

Specifically, the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share Index (ASI) fell from 38,278.55 to 37,499.07, while market capitalisation declined from N13.866 trillion to N13.584 trillion.

The bears’ strong grip on the market led to a marginal growth of 0.09 per cent in the first half of the year. And since the second half began on Monday, the market has remained downbeat, leading to 2.0 per cent. Yesterday accounted for 0.30 per cent of the decline as 24 stocks lost value compared with 21 that added value.

Commenting on the market performance, analysts said selling pressure across counters were sustained, as investors continued to sell down on large cap stocks across the market.

“However, the losses were moderated by the buying pressures across the banking sector, as the favoured counters within the sector topped the value and volume charts for the day,” they said.

Forte Oil Plc and MCNichols Plc led the price losers with 10 per cent apiece trailed by Omoluabi Mortgage Bank Plc that shed 9.3 per cent. Conoil Plc went down by 8.3 per cent, just as Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc lost 8.2 per cent.

Market analysts said lack of information from Forte Oil Plc regarding its planned business restructuring was weakening demand for the stock.

According to a stockbroker, after shareholders approved the proposal, nothing has been heard on the issue.

The shareholders had approved the company’s to restructure its business by divesting its upstream services , power generating businesses in Nigeria and downstream business in Ghana.

“This divestment will reduce finance cost in the group significantly and increase distributable earnings for the benefit of the shareholders. The finance cost attributable to the businesses to be divested stood at N2.7 billion and N2.2 billion for the year ended 31st December 2016 and the year ended 31st December 2017 respectively. The proceeds of the divestment initiative will also enable your company to compete more favourably and achieve the planned expansion of the business for increased market share,” Forte Oil had explained.

However, operators said nothing has been heard from the company after the approval by the shareholders in May.

Meanwhile, May & Baker Nigeria Plc led the price gainers with 9.7 per cent, trailed by FCMB Group Plc. Japaul Oil & Maritime Services Plc and Skye Bank Plc chalked up 9.0 per cent each.

Abacha Loot: Reps Reject Planned Sharing Of $322m To Poor Citizens

[Image: Mr-Yakubu-Dogara-Recovered-696x445.jpg]Yakubu Dogara, Speaker, House of Representatives
Abuja – The House of Representatives, on Wednesday, overwhelmingly rejected the decision by the Federal Government to share the sum of $322 million, being the last tranche of the Abacha loot, to poor Nigerians.
The advice had purportedly been given to the Federal Government by the Swiss government.
The House, presided over by Speaker Yakubu Dogara, queried the powers of the Swiss government to determine how Nigeria spends its money.

It queried the powers of the presidency to embark on such agreement and spending without parliamentary approvals.
It noted that the money in question belonged to the three tiers of government and was constitutionally incorrect for the Federal Government alone to determine what happens to it.

The lower chamber held that such money ought to be paid into the consolidated revenue account and shared amongst the three tiers of government.
The House insisted that the Federal Government could only spend money after it had been appropriated by the National Assembly.
It, therefore, set up an ad-hoc committee to probe the recoveries of the Abacha loots and their utilisation since 1998.
The committee, which was given six weeks to conclude investigations and report to the House for further legislative actions, was asked to establish the sources of the Abacha loot within the said period, identify all agreements entered by the government and see if they were in line with the constitution.
The House also mandated the ad-hoc committee to establish if money was paid to lawyers in the course of recovery and establish if proper procedures were followed.
The resolutions followed the heated debate on the motion of urgent public importance brought before it by Sunday Karimi (PDP, Kogi) on the need to stop the executive from expending the last tranche of the Abacha loot or any recovered loot at all without parliamentary approval.

His motion was coming weeks after the Special Adviser to the President on Justice Reforms, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagu, said the $322 million would be paid directly to the accounts of the poorest Nigerians, without recourse to the National Assembly.
Karimi, who referred to section 12 (1) of the 1999 construction as amended, said no treaty between the Federal Government and another country shall have the force of law except to the extent to which such a treaty had been enacted by the National Assembly.
Consequently, the lawmaker noted that no agreement or memorandum of understanding purportedly signed by the Federal Government with the Swiss government can have any force of law in Nigeria except approved by the parliament.
Based on Karimi’s argument from section 80 (1-3) and section 81 of the 1999 constitution, where he argued that the money should go to the consolidated revenue account, the House urged the Federal Government to pay the said sum into the consolidated revenue fund and be distributed to the federating units in line with the current revenue sharing formula.
Contributing to debate on the motion, majority of the lawmakers argued in favour of Karimi’s argument, saying that sharing the money as planned would mean a serious constitutional breach.
They added that it was not economically wise, and that the recovered loot should be channelled into a sustainable venture for the poor Nigerian people.
The legislators said they were concerned about how the Federal Government and the Swiss government intended to establish who the poor people in the country were, to be able to come up with a comprehensive list to share the loot.
They questioned the integrity of the decision which was taken sidelining the National Assembly, the true representatives of the Nigerian people and in the best position to generate the list of poor people in view of their closeness to the people at the grassroots.
The legislators stressed that they were not against the good intention of the government to do something to the poor, but were worried that the decision was ill-conceived as each of the said poor people would likely not go home with more than N5000, which was incapable of changing their status or feeding them beyond a few days.
They expressed doubts concerning the genuineness of the move which, they alleged, was meant to take care of only a few poor from some states of the federation.
APC Cabal Plotting To Loot Repatriated $322m, PDP Alleges
Meanwhile, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday said it has uncovered plot by a cabal in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to siphon repatriated funds in the sum of $322 million under the pretext of sharing the money to indigent persons in 19 states of the federation.
The party also warned the APC-led Federal Government to perish the thought of shutting down Akure airport in a bid to deny PDP members access to Ado Ekiti for their planned governorship rally scheduled for today, ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election billed for July 14.
In a statement, PDP spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, revealed that investigations have shown that out of the estimated 300,000 households listed as beneficiaries, more than 90 percent of them are phony family names supplied by fraudulent government officials, to be used as conduit to channel the repatriated money to APC leaders.
“Investigations revealed that the cabal is responsible for the stampede to spend the money without recourse to the constitutionally required approval and appropriation of the National Assembly,” Ologbondiyan said.
He added, “It is more shocking to note that President Muhammadu Buhari, who is regularly availed of information particularly on corruption, approved the dispensing of the money without the required legislative due diligence, thereby opening the vaults for looters in the APC.”
The party stressed that it had nothing against any genuine plan to benefit Nigerians in anyway, adding that it believes President Buhari is aware of the requirements of the constitution regarding the disbursement of state funds.
“We urge Nigerians to hold him (Buhari) responsible for this wicked plot by APC interests to use innocent citizens as cover to loot the repatriated fund,” he said.
The party therefore called on the National Assembly to protect the interest of Nigerians by immediately employing its legislative instruments to stop the re-looting of the repatriated funds.
While interacting with newsmen earlier, Ologbondiyan called on well-meaning Nigerians to prevail on the Federal Government not to close the Ado Ekiti airport on the pretext of carrying out repairs.
He said, “There is a dangerous trend by APC to stall the rally. Information showed that the Federal Government will shut the Akure Airport to deny our members access to Ado Ekiti.
“Also, we learnt that the Ondo State government is planning to move earth-moving equipment to the road leading from Ondo to Ado Ekiti to prevent vehicular movement of our members.
“This is in a bid to stop our members from across the country from moving either by air or by road into Ado Ekiti. This is unfortunate and callous.”
Ologbondiyan explained that PDP leadership is a step ahead of APC with alternative plans, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be an unbiased arbiter in the governorship election and to avoid being used by the Federal Government to perpetrate fraud during the election.

FMN Posts N542b Revenue, N13.6b PAT
User Avatar Forum: Financial Institutions

Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Plc has recorded group revenue of N542billion, and Profit After Tax (PAT) of N13.6billion for the financial year ended December 31, 2017.

Specifically, the companies audited result showed 3.5 per cent rise in revenue to N542billion from the N524billion achieved in 2016, while PAT rose from N8.8billion to N13.6billion during the year under review representing an increase of 54.1 per cent.

The company attributed the improved performance to a combination of resilience in the face of a challenging environment; volume growth and product mix from the food and agro-allied businesses.

The firm’s profit before tax also grew from N10.4billion to N16.4billion, while operating profit stood at N48billion, representing 16.9 per cent rise when compared to the N41billion posted in the corresponding period in 2016.

Group Managing Director of the company, Paul Gbededo, explained that the results are indication that efforts to continually push for improved efficiency and synergy in the group are yielding the expected results.

According to him, the firm has continued to consolidate its position in the agricultural segment, with firm commitment to become industry leader while aligning with the agricultural promotion policies at the federal and state levels.

“Our 2017 year-end result shows a remarkable growth in the Group’s revenue of N542billion, which represents an impressive 3.5% year on year growth. This was achieved through a combination of resilience in the face of a challenging environment; volume growth and product mix from our food and agro-allied businesses.

“We are critically looking into our investments in our backward integration initiatives and have confirmed our commitments towards future profitable growth by recapitalising various subsidiaries.

“We are also impairing at company level, part of our investment in Kaboji Farm, our first agricultural investment, which has now become our centre of excellence for seed and best agricultural practices in maize and soybean.”

The Chief Financial Officer, Jacques Vauthier, said the Group had also decided to accelerate the depreciation period of some support services assets, resulting in a onetime expense of N1.2billion.

“In spite of these one-time exceptional expenses, and initial losses in some of our early stage agro-allied businesses, our Group still recorded a Profit Before Tax of N16.4billion, confirming our commitment towards cost controls and increasing our margins.

“In an effort to strengthen the company’s capital base, deleverage our balance sheet, and support our working capital needs, we embarked on, and have completed a rights issue program during the past months.

“With the successful completion of the rights issue program, we have now positioned the company to exploit value-accretive opportunities, whilst giving greater operational and financial flexibility to ensure business growth and continuity.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 5TH JULY.

RIGHTEOUS BY NATURE.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous (Romans 5:19).
Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you...” This is because the man or woman who’s born again is born sin-free. On the other hand, the unregenerate man, the person who isn’t born again, is a sinner by nature, and enslaved to sin. He can’t but sin, even when he doesn’t want to, because he has the nature of sin.

However, this isn’t the case with you that are born again. Righteousness, which is the nature of God, was imparted to your spirit at the New Birth. You didn’t ask for it or do anything to become righteous; you’re righteous by nature. God made it so. Your righteousness is the righteousness of Christ, and has nothing to do with your “performance”; it’s a gift from God (Romans 5:17).

Just as there’s nothing you could have done on your own through your own human perfection to become righteous, in Christ, there’s also nothing you can do or not do that’ll take away your righteousness. You’re as righteous today as you could ever be. Better than that, you’re as righteous as Jesus is righteous, considering that He gave you His own righteousness. He substituted His righteousness for your sin-nature when you confessed His Lordship over your life.

You might be forced to ask, “How about when I do something wrong, does it affect my righteousness?” First, your righteousness wasn’t pre-conditioned on your good works. Ephesians 2:9 says, “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Think about it this way: A baby doesn’t get more human as he grows. He’s hundred per cent human already. Then, he starts learning how to use all he’s got; his human faculties: his legs, his hands, his eyes, his brain, his mind, etc.

Now, during the process of training and educating that child, if he makes a mistake or does something wrong, that doesn’t mean he’s no longer human. He’s human by nature, not by actions. It’s the same thing with our righteousness. We’re righteous by nature; thus, it’s our “default setting” to produce fruits and works of righteousness. Therefore, learn to live the God-life. Glory to God.

CONFESSION

I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; therefore, I can please God every time and in every way, because I live by the faith of the Son of God who gave Himself for me. I’m sin-free, because Christ has given me a new life. I’m alive to God, and live unto righteousness, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Saraki, Dogara, Kwankwaso, Others Form ‘new APC’, Set To Join PDP
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-04-2018, 10:31 PM - No Replies

Quote:Baring last minute change, the former new PDP bloc of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will announce their exit from the mainstream of the party in preparation to joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Arrowheads of the group include Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and a former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Multiple sources told PREMIUM TIMES that the faction will address a press conference later on Wednesday to announce the decision.

The announcement of the formation of what is tagged the ‘new APC’ is said to be the first step in what would lead to a coalition of political parties and interests, to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari.

The faction, comprising some former governors and ranking lawmakers, has been in a tug of war with the APC government.

Some of the nPDP members, including Mr Saraki, former Adamawa governor, Murtala Nyako, and a senator, Dino Melaye, are facing corruption and other charges.

A number of the faction’s chieftains also complained about being left in the cold during the party’s congresses that took place between May and June this year.

Four governors and other ranking PDP members, including Mr Saraki, jettisoned the party in the run off to the 2015 polls, shoving up the chances of the then opposition APC.

But since forming the new government, many fault-lines started emerging, with the elements from the PDP bloc complaining of marginalisation.

A chieftain of APC who has been critical of the Buhari administration, Buba Galadima, confirmed the impending press conference to PREMIUM TIMES.

He, however, declined disclosing details though he did not refute that a new faction of the ruling party was going to be unveiled at the venue.

“I don’t want to preempt it,” Mr Galadima, who was secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Mr Buhari’s former party, said.

But a source familiar with the horse-tradings disclosed that the press conference today would herald merger of various blocs ahead of the election.

“There have been discussions and a memorandum of understanding drafted among the interest blocs that would take care of everyone’s interest going into the PDP,” the source said.

According to the source, those going into the new alliance include the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), believed to be backed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Calls placed to spokespersons of Mr Saraki and Dogara Wednesday afternoon where not answered. Text messages sent to both Yusuf Olaniyonu, Mr Saraki’s media aide, and Turaki Hassan, Mr Dogara’s spokesperson, were also not replied.

Mr Kwankwaso’s spokesperson, Binta Spikin, was however unreachable Wednesday afternoon. Calls placed to her known telephone number did not go through.

Lead Us Out Of APC, Kwara Party Leaders Tell Saraki
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 07-04-2018, 10:28 PM - No Replies

Quote:Biola Azeez - Ilorin

THREE senatorial chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state have urged the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to take them out of the ruling party to another party.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, the three APC senatorial chairmen, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun (Kwara South), Alhaji Jimoh Adesina (Kwara Central) and Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa (Kwara North), said that their political leader should lead the people to where aspirations and yearnings of Kwarans would be met, adding that the ruling APC had failed not only entire people of Kwara state but beyond.

The spokesperson of the chairmen, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun, said that the APC, which they laboured tirelessly for in 2015 had failed to meet their yearnings.

Alhaji Balogun, who said the appeal to the Senate president was a warning signal to APC hierarchy to make amend and right some perceived wrongs in the party, added that their expectations had not been met since the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari commenced.

He added that they were determined to quit APC if the wrongs are not corrected, “even if Senate President Bukola Saraki insists on staying in APC.”

“Now that another election is on the way, Kwara has
considered it fit to implore Saraki to take us to a formidable party that would address the plights of the people if the ruling APC refuses to redeem its campaign promises.

“The perpetual persecution, humiliation and wanton destruction of the personality of the Senate President have been on the increase daily. This has almost made him lose focus on his good intentions for the country.

“Dr Saraki had contributed immensely to the empowerment and well-being of the people of the state, yet he was recently accused of sponsoring
a gang of robbers that robbed banks in Offa, Offa local government area of the state. This is a calculated attempt to drag his name in the mud.

“The recent calculated attempt to disrupt the peace at the National Assembly is another eloquent testimony to destroy the person of the Senate President. This unwholesome treatment is unwarranted and uncalled for.

“The Senate president delivered the entire Kwara state to the APC. The three senators from the state at the National Assembly are APC members, the state government is controlled by APC, all members of the House of Representatives are APC, and the 16 local government chairmen, 24 members of the House of Assembly are APC, including the 193 councillors, apart from his contributions to other states of the federation won by the APC”, he said.

US Concerned About Continuous Killings of Christians in Nigeria, Says Trump

• Buhari blames killings on Libyan militia, says he can’t tell US what to do on low crude imports

• Both countries agree on repatriation of $500m stolen funds

* PDP laments Buhari’s response on Nigerian oil

Tokunbo Adedoja in Washington, Omololu Ogunmade in Abuja, Eromosele Abiodun and Obinna Chima in Lagos

United States President Donald Trump played host to President Muhammadu Buhari at the White House Monday, telling the Nigerian president that the persistent wanton killings of Christians in Nigeria was a serious problem, which must not be allowed to continue.

Buhari, who arrived Washington on Sunday for a four-day visit to the U.S., was received by Trump at midday at the White House and ushered into the Oval Office, where both leaders exchanged pleasantries before proceeding to a closed-door meeting for talks bordering on the war against global terrorism and trade.

Buhari was the first leader from sub-Saharan Africa to visit Trump when he arrived at the White House. As they opened discussions in the Oval Office, Trump said it was important to meet face-to-face, “especially on terrorism and terrorism-related” issues.

“We have a very big trade deal we’re working on for military equipment, helicopters and the like,” Trump added.

Trump also told Buhari that the protracted killings of Christians in the country was unacceptable and required working very hard to put paid to it, adding that having met Buhari before, a great relationship was being developed.

“We had met before, developing great relationship. We look forward to our discussions today (yesterday). They are very important but again, especially as it relates to terrorism. That is terrorism here and terrorism all over the world.

“It’s a hot bird and we are going to be stopping them. Also, we have had a very serious problem with Christians who are being murdered, killed in Nigeria. We are going to be working on that problem, and working on that problem very, very hard because we can’t allow that to happen. Mr. President thank you for being here, thank you,” Trump said while receiving Buhari.

Responding, Buhari thanked the U.S. President for inviting him. He also thanked him for agreeing to sell 12 Tucano aircraft to Nigeria and expressed further appreciation to Trump for the physical involvement of the U.S. military in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria through training of Nigerian forces.

Buhari blamed the heinous killings being perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen on the movement of militants from Libya following the death of its former leader, Muammar Gaddafi, saying the militants had proficient skills in shooting and killing.

He said whereas herdsmen in Nigeria were hitherto known for carrying only sticks, and machetes to cut grass for their herds, they are now armed with AK47 rifles, explaining that efforts were being made to stop cross-border movement and check the proliferation of arms in the West African sub-region.

Furthermore, he said the effective operations of the U.S., which he noted had largely incapacitated ISIS, had also helped to weaken Boko Haram which had pledged its loyalty to ISIS.

“Thank you Mr. President for inviting me. It’s a great honour. I am very grateful for it. Certainly, security is the main issue. We are very grateful to the United States for agreeing to give us the aircraft we asked for and the spare parts.

“We are even more grateful for the physical presence of the United States military instructors that go into our institutions and train them, and go to the warfront in the North-east to see how they are performing as a result of the training given to them.

“The commitment of the United States to get rid of terrorism across the world, we have had first-hand experience of that and we are very grateful for it.

“The problem of the cattle rearers and herders in Nigeria is a very long historical thing. Nigerian herdsmen never carried anything more than a stick and occasionally, a machete to cut down foliage and give it to their animals.

“These ones are carrying AK47 (rifles). So, I don’t think people should underrate what happened in Libya. In the 43 years of Gadaffi, people were recruited from the Sahel. They were thought nothing other than shooting and killing.

“With the demise of Gadaffi, they moved to their countries and their regions and they carried away with them the only experience they had and their training using weapons. And that is what is aggravating the situation.

“We are doing our best to ensure that we stop cross-border movement and so on and to ensure that the proliferation of small arms in the region is checked.

“But it is going to take time, and the action by the United States in trying to see the end of ISIS has helped us a lot because Boko Haram in Nigeria at one time made a statement that they were loyal to ISIS.

“And now that ISIS has virtually gone with the help of the United States, we are very grateful for that and we are sure that we are stabilising the situation of security in Nigeria,” Buhari submitted.

Trump, who echoed Buhari that ISIS had been decimated, noted that the story had not been the same with Boko Haram which he said had been terrible, as he proceeded to ask Buhari what he was doing about the Chibok and Dapchi girls who are still in captivity.

“We have very much decimated ISIS. Much has taken place over the last 12 months but Boko Haram has been terrible and how did you do with the young women that were kidnapped? How was that going?” Trump asked Buhari.

Responding, the Nigerian president said the kidnap of the Chibok girls took place before his administration but added that about 130 had been brought back.

Buhari also said of the 105 Dapchi girls who were kidnapped last February, 100 of them had been released, four of them died, while one was still in captivity.

Thanking the United Nations (UN) for its roles in the release of the kidnapped girls, Buhari said efforts were still being made to secure the release of the remaining girls in captivity.

“The Chibok girls kidnap was before we came in 2014. We have only a number of them, we recovered about 130 of them. But the Dapchi ones, they were 105 that were kidnapped. We got 100 back, four died, one is still held in captivity and we are very grateful to the United Nations that is acting in between us and the kidnappers and we haven’t given up.

“We are trying to get everybody back to join their families and their schools,” Buhari said.

In his final response, Trump said: “A terrible problem. Mr. President, thank you very much.”

After the closed-door meeting between the Nigerian and U.S. delegation, Trump and Buhari held a joint press briefing at the Rose Garden of the White House, where the American president said he was honoured to host Buhari in the White House, saying Nigeria is the largest democracy in Africa.

Trump noted that he had conveyed to Buhari during their discussions that the U.S. “deeply values and appreciates Nigeria’s role as a strong democratic leader in the region”.

He added: “The United States is working to expand trade and commercial ties with African nations, including Nigeria, to create jobs and wealth in all of our countries.

“We hope to be the economic partner of choice for nations across the continent and all around the world, and I hope you see what is happening all around the world with respect to trade and the United States – we are being respected again.

“I hope all African countries and countries throughout the world that we also will be supporting you and that they would likewise support us in our bid along with Mexico and Canada for the 2026 World Cup. We will be watching very closely and any help they can give us in that bid, we will appreciate it.

“I am pleased that Nigeria is one of our largest trading partners in the region, and we look forward to growing our trade based on the principle of fairness and reciprocity.

“But we give Nigeria well over $1 billion in aid every year and we have already started talking with the president about taking down the trade barriers, very substantial barriers in the United States trading with Nigeria, so we think that we are owed that.

“President Buhari is also taking serious steps to fight corruption and improve the Nigerian business climate and most of all to me is ripping down those trade barriers.”

According to the U.S. president, the elimination of trade barriers would make it easier for Nigerian and U.S companies to invest, adding that American companies would do so substantially once a level playing field is created.

“These measures will make it easier for Nigeria and U.S. companies to invest and we will be investing substantially if they can create a level playing field.

“I also want to thank President Buhari in the partnership and leadership in the fight against terrorism – he has been a real leader. Nigeria was one of the first countries to join the coalition to defeat the Islamic State (ISIS) and Nigerian forces are currently leading the regional effort against ISIS in West Africa and doing very well as we have.

“Nigeria is also leading the effort in the fight against Boko Haram, another ruthless jihadist terrorist group – you have been reading about them, they kidnapped the young girls and young women, many of whom we have never seen again.

“This summer, it was my honour to meet with two brave young women, Joy Bishara and Ledia Pogu, who were kidnapped by Boko Haram in April 2014 in a secondary school in Nigeria. I was deeply moved by their stories of courage, resilience and survival.

“I told the two girls my administration is committed to combating the scourge of kidnapping and human trafficking and smuggling. In the world today, there are more human traffickers and slavery than at any time in human history.

“We are helping Nigeria by facilitating training and providing military equipment to the Nigerian forces. For example, we recently sold Nigeria 12 A29 Super Tucano aircraft in the first ever sale of American military equipment to Nigeria.

“We are deeply concerned by the religious violence in Nigeria, especially the burning of churches, the killing and persecution of Christians – it is a horrible story.

“We encourage Nigeria, the federal, state and local leaders to do everything in their power to immediately secure the affected communities and the innocent civilians of all, including Muslims and Christians,” Trump added.

While thanking Buhari for the visit, he described Nigeria as a valued partner, stressing that he looked forward to deepening Nigeria-U.S. cooperation and forging an even closer partnership.

The U.S., Trump added, was committed to working with Nigeria as it seeks a future of strength, prosperity and peace for both countries.

In his response, Buhari pointed out that both countries share a long history of cordial relations, which encompasses political, economic, military, social and cultural cooperation.

Both countries, Buhari added, maintain a strategic partnership for peace and security, conflict resolution as well as the global fight against terrorism.

“We also share similar features as secular federal states, a similar democratic model of governance, and are committed to the universal value of fundamental human rights and freedom, free enterprise, social justice and the rule of law.”

Buhari disclosed that the two delegations, during their interaction, discussed security, trade, governance, human rights and the humanitarian crisis in the North-east.

“President Trump, his team, myself and the Nigerian team discussed issues relating to security, trade, governance, human rights and the humanitarian crisis.

“We congratulated the leaders of North and South Korea on their historic summit and we applaud them for the positive commitment they have made for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. President Trump deserves the credit for the state-manly role he played in transforming so dramatically the courses of events in that region.

“We also congratulated the U.S. for the important role it played in the defeat of the Islamic State, although some of their remnants have found their way to the Sahel region,” Buhari said.

Nigeria, Buhari stressed, recognised the strong role the U.S. is playing in the country’s (Nigeria) fight against terrorism and the agreement to sell 12 A29 Tucano aircraft to Nigeria to effectively fight terrorism.

To defeat terrorism in Nigeria, he said the federal government has adopted a multi-sectoral approach involving the relevant government agencies in addressing the social and political dimensions, while the Armed Forces of Nigeria assist the civil authority to provide security and maintain law and order.

“As part of efforts to address emerging cases of insurgency in the country, the Nigerian military adopted a non-kinetic counter terrorism/counter insurgency approach code-named ‘Operation Safe Corridor’, to de-radicalise, rehabilitate, and reintegrate willingly surrendered Boko-Haram members into the larger society.

“This programme is currently embarking on a number of projects including skills acquisition centres and integrated farms, comprising poultry, fish pond and greenhouse farming, among others. A number of international partners, including the International Organisation for Migration have contributed to the success of Operation Safe Corridor. We indicated that we would appreciate whatever support we could also get from the U.S,” he said.

He disclosed that the U.S. to date has been the biggest contributor to the humanitarian response, “and last year gave $500 million in cash and kind through the United Nations and other inter-governmental-organisations”.

He said his government was doing what it could to secure the release of the remaining abducted schoolgirls from Dapchi and Chibok.

“In this context we welcome the support of the U.S. in intelligence gathering, hostage negotiation and information sharing. The government is doing its best to promote the peaceful coexistence of herdsmen and farmers by enforcing security and legislation to guarantee herders and farmers access to land.”

Buhari also hailed the Trump administration for its laudable decision to launch a Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative to assist in achieving that aim and implored the U.S. to sustain its cooperation with Nigeria to effectively achieve this objective.

“We thanked the U.S. government very much for the cooperation we have received in our effort to recover stolen funds. Our two governments have put the machinery in place for their respective Attorneys-General to collaborate in ensuring the return to Nigeria of $500 million looted funds siphoned away in banks around the world.

“In this connection, we congratulated the U.S. government on the launch of the Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative which was spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering. We hope that we could continue to count on U.S. support in this area,” he said.

On the economy, Buhari congratulated both Trump and his government on what he described “as the impressive performance of the US economy under their watch”, disclosing that Nigeria’s focus was on diversifying its economy by focusing on agriculture and food security as well as power and infrastructure.

The Nigerian president who also said 2016 statistics showed that Nigeria’s trade volume with the U.S. stood at $6.07 billion, observed that the figure comprised $4.176 billion worth of Nigerian exports to the U.S. and $1.894 billion U.S. exports to Nigeria.

He said both presidents sought greater efforts to increase these figures substantially.

Buhari added: “We have cut the importation of rice by about 90 per cent, thereby saving a significant amount of money. We very much welcome increased U.S. investment in the Nigerian economy, especially in the non-oil sector.

“Economic relations between Nigeria and the United States are anchored on three major instruments, namely: the Bi-National Commission (BNC), Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) and the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

“The Bi-National Commission in particular, comprising bilateral political, economic, developmental and humanitarian partnership, is a basic economic framework for engagement between our two countries.”

On governance and human rights, Buhari said the government of Nigeria remained committed to the principles of human rights, promotion and protection of people’s freedom, even in the fight against terror, adding: “We commit to ensure that all documented cases of human rights abuses are investigated and those responsible for violations held accountable for their actions.”

After reading their prepared speeches, both leaders took questions from the press, during which Trump described Nigeria as an amazing country that he would like to visit.

“I would like to visit Nigeria, it is an amazing country, and in certain ways, I hear from the standpoint of the beauty of a country, there is no country more beautiful,” Trump said.

Buhari also disclosed that both Nigeria and the U.S. had put the machinery in place for the repatriation of $500 million stolen funds to the country.

On corruption and efforts by the Nigerian government to secure the U.S.’ assistance in the repatriation of looted funds, Trump acknowledged that Nigeria has a reputation for massive corruption, but added that the U.S. will continue to offer its support for Nigeria to proffer a lasting solution to the menace.

He also said that his Nigerian counterpart had done a lot to combat corruption significantly in the country.

“In terms of corruption, Nigeria has a reputation for very massive corruption, but I also know that the president has been able to cut that down very substantially, we talked about it, and they have made a lot of progress,” Trump said.

Asked whether he was offended by Trump’s alleged denigration of African countries in the past, especially the use of a vulgar term to describe African countries, Buhari tactfully replied that he was sceptical about media reports and would rather not comment on them.

“I am being careful about what the press says about others and myself. But the best thing for me to do is to keep quiet,” Buhari said.

Trump in turn, said: “We didn’t discuss it, and you do have some countries that are in very bad shape, and very tough places to live in. We didn’t discuss because the president knows me, and he knows where I am coming from, and I appreciate that.”

Buhari said his government had done a lot to curb human rights abuses in Nigeria, especially in the ongoing war against Boko Haram.

“The government of Nigeria remains committed to human rights, even in the course of fighting terrorism,” he said.

When Buhari was asked if he had any issues with the role of the U.S. as the policeman of the world, he said that he had no problem with the presence of American troops in Nigeria, adding they were only in the country to offer training and other support that are crucial to winning the war against terrorism.

“This is one of the best things the United States could do for our country,” Buhari said.

Trump at this point interjected, saying Buhari’s comments were fair, but added that he would want to see America scale back its supervisory role across the world while improving trade with other countries.

“We want to police our country. What we want to do now is to open Nigeria and other countries to trade,” he said.

On the concerns about the low patronage of Nigerian crude by the U.S. in recent years, Buhari said he would not tell another country what to do. He praised the U.S. for its technological innovations that had helped to reduce its reliance on oil.

“I can’t tell the U.S. what to do. Luckily for us, we have got a market for our crude oil. But the progress made by the US in technology is certainly frightening for our mono-economy.

“I hope technology will allow them to use our crude for its quality for petrochemicals,” the Nigerian president said.

The U.S. president further clarified that Nigeria was interested in agricultural produce from his country, stating that plans were in place to allow exports of U.S. farm produce to Nigeria — “for the good of U.S. farmers, Nigeria, and Africa”.

“What we discussed today was our agricultural products going into Nigeria, which Nigeria wants. But we have certain barriers that don’t allow that to happen.

“For the good of U.S. farmers and for the good of all of Africa, it is very important that we are able to send our agriculture produce into Nigeria and we would be working on that right away,” Trump said.

Also responding to a question on Nigeria’s purchase of military aircraft from the U.S. for the fight against terrorism, as well as the need to get the aircraft delivered quickly to Nigeria, Trump said denying Nigeria the purchase of war planes before now was not good, stressing that his government sold the best aircraft in the world to Nigeria.

“We love helicopters, but he (Buhari) likes them more than I do. He likes buying helicopters and they buy a lot of helicopters. So, very soon we are getting them the planes.

“Part of the problem is that before you weren’t allowed to buy helicopters in your country, but now you are. I worked that out. So, now you can buy the helicopters that you want.

“The helicopters we have here are the best in the world. We make the best military equipment in the world and our friends can now buy those equipment.

“We are also helping our Nigerian partners by facilitating intelligence, cooperation and providing training and military equipment to the Nigerian forces. For example, we recently sold to Nigeria 12 US A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, great aircraft, in the first ever sale of American military equipment to Nigeria.

“This new aircraft will improve Nigeria’s ability to target terrorists and protect civilians,” Trump said.

PDP Laments Buhari’s Performance

Reacting shortly after the joint briefing by both leaders, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday bemoaned the performance of the Nigerian president during the meeting with his U.S. counterpart, describing it as embarrassing and disturbing.

The party lamented that Buhari completely failed to project the economic interests of the country before the American government and the world.

A statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan said it was alarming that Buhari buckled during the bilateral negotiations and failed to address the issue of the drop in U.S. purchase of Nigeria’s crude oil, saying it is the main stay of the Nigerian economy.

“Nigerians and the business community were aghast when President Buhari could not market our crude oil to his American counterpart even when in the course of the question and answer session, a leeway was provided for him, he off-handedly declared that he cannot ‘tell America what to do’,” the party said.

PDP also said that Buhari had no answers to Trump’s stance that the U.S. had not been investing substantially in Nigeria owing to the unconducive economic climate under his administration, further confirming the stand of the PDP that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was running a moribund economy.

More disturbing, PDP noted, was the revelation by Trump that the U.S. has been supporting Nigeria with the sum of $1 billion annually whereas Buhari, in his script, announced that Nigeria received only $500 million last year.

“We had expected President Buhari, as the ‘African Champion on Anti-Corruption’, to immediately respond to President Trump on the whereabouts of the shortfall of $500 million.

“It is also inexcusable that President Buhari had no answers to the security situation of daily bloodletting and mass killings in Nigeria, which President Trump described as ‘horrible’. Instead, he restricted himself to his script, which was silent on the issue.

“By this, the American government has summarily indicted President Buhari’s government on its failure to ensure security of lives and property of Nigerian citizens.

“On the whole, the visit surmises photo-ops of President Buhari in the White House in a bilateral session where President Trump was committed to marketing the U.S. to the most populous black nation,” the PDP said.

BREAKING! Court Orders National Assembly To Commence Impeachment Process Against President Buhari
[Image: buhari_alone.jpg]
A Federal High Court, sitting in Osogbo, Osun state capital has ordered the National Assembly to immediately commence impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The judge gave the order on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 based on the suit filed by two Nigerians, Kanmi Ajibola, a lawyer and Sulaiman Adeniyi, a human right activist, urging the court to enforce the National Assembly to impeach President Buhari.

The duo had three months ago written to both the lower and the upper chambers of the National Assembly on the need to impeach President Buhari, citing alleged constitutional breaches by the president and threatened that they will approach the court if they failed to act accordingly.

But when the lawmakers refused, they headed for court and filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Osogbo asking for an order of mandamus to compel both the Senate and the House of Representatives to start the impeachment proceedings of President Buhari.

In the suit filed on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, they hinged their arguments on four grounds on why the National Assembly should impeach the Buhari.

In the motion ex-parte, the duo claimed that in flagrant violation of the 1999 constitution, President Buhari contested election, won and was sworn in as the president on the 29th day of May 2015 without possessing the basic constitutional requirement, which would have made him qualified for the contest of the election.

They further alleged that the 4th respondent, which is President Buhari in flagrant violation of section 137 (1) (j) of the 1999 constitution presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the purpose of the 2015 presidential election that brought him to the office of the president

“In the light of the 4th Respondent’s placement to continue in the office as the president, he has no certificate and basic requirement upon which this placement to continue in the office can be placed.”

Besides, they accused the president of treating the orders of the court with great disdain and abuses the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at will, particularly from the angle of the observance of the Federal character as contained in section 14 of the constitution.

“The 4th Respondent on the 29th day of May 2015, took an oath of office, among others, to the effect that, he would rule in accordance to and protect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, particularly section 14 (2) (b) which stipulates that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.”

“In the contrary, the 4th Respondent has proved to be unable to guarantee the security of lives and properties of the citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in fulfilment of his oath of Office. The herdsmen killings of the innocent citizens under the 4th Respondent have been uncountable, unbearable and unprecedented overheating figures in the globe.

“The 4th Respondent in contravention of the due process and sections 80 and 81 of the 1999 constitution spent about $496 Million on the purchase of Tucano Jets without the approval of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as required by the law.

“The 4th Respondent ordered to be withdrawn, money from the public fund of the Federation without the approval of the National Assembly or the authorization of its act and same used for the purchase of Tucano Jets.

“The 4th Respondent has committed several impeachable offences, that is, gross misconduct.

“By the provision of section 143 of the 1999 constitution, the 1st to 3rd Respondents (The Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly) have the statutory duty to impeach the 4th Respondent as the president and Commander in – Chief of Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on gross misconduct.

“The 1st to 3rd Respondents have closed their eyes to the gross misconduct of the 4th Respondent.

They told the court that as applicants in the matter, they have the right and duty to compel the 1st and 3rd Respondents to perform their statutory duty of impeachment against the 4th Respondent, having bothered on the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Citing several constitutional authorities in the written address in support of the motion ex-parte and with 44-paragraph affidavits, the duo posed some questions by putting Nigeria side by side with some developed nations.

“Can the conduct of the 4th Respondent, particularly on the presentation of a forged certificate, be condone in America or Great Britain unchecked?

“Can the 4th Respondent continue to benefits from his act of forgery and infraction of constitution?

“Definitely, an American president cannot be genuinely accused of presentation of a forged certificate and still be allowed to continue as the president, likewise the prime minister of the Great Britain”, they noted.

Barrister Ajibola urged the court that with all array of documents before the court, he was of the view that the National Assembly must perform its constitutional duties without fear or favour.

Justice Onyetenu in her ruling granted the application and ordered “that the National Assembly being the 1st,2nd and 3rd respondents commence the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari”.

Further hearing on the matter has been fixed for October 30, 2018.

There was drama, last night, in Ilesha, Osun State, after a commercial sex worker fled for dear life due to the violent way her client handled her in bed, after promising to pay N5k for her service.

In a video posted online, the lady, who ran out of the room, can be heard saying in Yoruba Language: “I swear to God nothing is wrong with me. We don’t know each other from Adam. He just saw me by the road side and picked me.

But the way he had s*x with me ruthlessly, in fact I couldn’t take it any longer. Is it because I’m into prostitution that you slept with me violently? What happened? Just because of N5k, I’ll now kill myself. I’m not insane now. If you had slept with me normally, I wouldn’t have run out like that. What happened? Haha.”

FFK Reacts To Femi Adesina "Giving Land For Ranching Is Better Than Death"

Vanguard report that the Presidency, yesterday, charged those against the administration’s ranching and colony programmes for herdsmen to rethink, noting that they are better off living with the ranches and colonies than dying through the persisting conflicts.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, speaking on an AIT morning programme in response to a question on ancestral attachments to land said: “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive.

A Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lambasted  the Presidency saying

"Giving land for ranching is better than death.....Being alive is better than ancestral attachment to land"- Presidency.

In other words you must surrender your ancestral lands to the Fulani or prepare to be slaughtered. You must give them your homes or they will take your lives!

You must give them your money and all that is dear to you or they will butcher you and your family and take over all that is yours.

Surely only the accursed still support this evil government. Do we need any further evidence to prove that Buhari is behind the ethnic cleansing and genocide?

Court Dissolves 10Yrs Marriage After Husband Sneaked Into Housemaid's Room To Sleep With Her

An Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Wednesday dissolved the 10-year marriage between Mrs Florence Anyasi and her husband, Stanley Anyasi, over infidelity.

The court president, Mr Akin Akinniyi, while delivering the judgment said that all efforts to reconcile the couple had failed.

“Since both parties consented to the dissolution of their marriage, this court has no choice than to dissolve the marriage.

“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mrs Florence Anyasi and Mr Stanley Anyasi dissolved today.

“Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife, each of you should go on his or her separate ways unmolested.

“The court wishes both of you well in your new journey of life.

“The court grants the custody of the children, age 10, 8, 6 respectively to their mother, the petitioner, pending when they attain the age of 18 years to decide who to stay with.

“The respondent must be responsible for the children’s school fees, medical bills and must be paying N15,000 monthly for the children’s feeding which must be channeled through the court,” Akinniyi ruled.

Stanley was dragged to the court by his wife accusing him of being a chronic womaniser.

The 36-year-old trader told the court that apart from numerous cases of his following women around, her husband used to sneak into their maid’s room to sleep with her.

“My husband is a womaniser, he used to leave me in the bed at night and sneak into my maid’s room. I have caught him severally on my maid’s bed sexually assaulting her

“A neighbour approached me and told me to warn my husband to desist from asking her daughter to have love affairs with him.

“I once caught him sucking the Bosom s of my niece, who is a minor and he is also fond of wooing my friends,” she said, as she reeled out her grievances before the court.

The petitioner told the court that her husband had once tried to poison her when he brought food to her which subsequently caused her serious pain and vomiting.

“I was rushed to the hospital by neighbours, when I was diagnosed, it was detected that the food I just ate had been poisoned.”

The mother of three said that her husband equally turned her into a punching bag, beating her at the slightest provocation, and has been calling her thief and prostitute in public.

The estranged woman stressed that her husband was irresponsible and unable to provide food or pay for the education of their children.

She therefore urged the court to dissolve her marriage with Stanley.

The respondent, however, denied all the allegations and in turn accused his wife of adultery, claiming that her lover even bought a car for her.

“In January 2017 she came home with a car of N1 million, when I queried her where she got the car from, she claimed she bought it with her money.

“I strongly disagreed with her because she is only selling foodstuffs and can never afford that kind of a car.”

The 40-year-old businessman said that his wife packed out of their matrimonial home in 2017 without his knowledge.

“I came home from work and discovered that my wife had packed all her belonging out with the children to start living with her lover.

“I called her severally, she refused to pick but she eventually picked my call last January and informed me that our last baby she delivered in May 2017 was not mine that the child belonged to the man she is presently living with.

“Before she even gave birth and packed out of my house, I always received information from people that they saw my wife in hotel with men but I always ignored them.”

Stanley said that he provided food and was paying the school fees of their children.

On the allegation of turning her to a punching bag, Stanley said that he only beat her once when she stabbed him with bottle on his head.

The respondent urged the court to grant his wife’s wish for the dissolution of marriage saying that he too was no longer interested.

Notorious Armed Robbers Who Receive Orders From Prison, Arrested. Photo
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 07-04-2018, 02:51 PM - No Replies

A five-man suspected armed robbery gang, terrorizing Ijebu-Ode and Epe, have been smashed by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The suspects, two of whom are siblings, have at one time or another been charged to court for armed robbery.

It was also gathered that most of them, whose cases were yet to be disposed of by an Ijebu-Ode Magistrate's Court have jumped bails

Most worrisome is that two notorious criminals currently in the Ijebu-Ode Prison, where the smashed five-man robbery gang members are still awaiting trials, Obabiyi a.k.a Oba 'B' and Ojubintin, call from the prison to give orders to the bandits on where next to operate in Ijebu-Ode

The use of phones and laptops in the prison, though not allowed, but according to the suspects, it was done through the active connivance of prison warders who, they said, sometimes resorted to general checkings, to mop up the gadgets at the disposal of inmates, but the exercise was not in totality.

Among the places the suspects confessed to have operated were Epe Road, Satina, Kajola, Emuren and Eruwon, all in Ijebu-Ode, aside Epe axis.

The five-member gang are Adeleke Ajayi, a.k.a Ajasco, 28, Segun Ajayi, 30, Gabriel Oriola, a.k.a Stone, 31, Adebayo Opeyemi, 33 and Wasiu Ogunlana, 28, who is the gang's armourer.

Their arrests followed a tip-off on the syndicate's robbery escapades, leading to Wasiu's nabbing with three locally made guns, comprising two single barrels and a double barrel, all pistols.

Also found in his possession were 13 rounds of live ammunition, which he claimed belonged to the group and consequently named the four other suspects, whose arrests were through technical intelligence.

A spectacular incident narrated by Wasiu Ogunlana as the first operation that threw him into prison in 2014 was the death of one 'Mama Sunkanmi' in Ijebu-Ode.

According to him, during the woman's wake-keep and lying-in-state, he went there as a guest of one of the deceased's grandsons, simply identified as Mayor, and tactically removed the gold necklace worn on the deceased and replaced it with a substandard one.

He said the whole episode was a conspiracy between him and the said Mayor, adding that they sold the necklace to one Aboki in Ijebu-Ode for #90,000.

Wasiu stated that, the development so much piqued family members, who resorted to consulting a diety, to detect who changed the necklace.

However, sensing the repercussion, which would lead to mysterious death, Mayor was said to have owned up to the family, resulting to their arrests and arraignment in court.

"We were in the prison between 2014 and 2017. After serving my jail term, Oba 'B', from the prison connected me with Adeleke Ajayi, a.k.a Ajasco, leader of the gang, and we went for the Satina operation. It was the same Oba 'B' that, also from the prison, controlled one Ejima, a Beninoise, to give me the three pistols for our operations. At the end of each operations, we give Oba 'B's share, in monetary terms, to his wife, who takes it to him in the prison", Wasiu revealed

Meanwhile, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed, has ordered the FSARS to, on completion of investigation, charge the suspects to court..

LAWYER, FIVE OTHERS NABBED OVER FOILED PLAN TO KIDNAP BIZMAN FOR RANSOM

TO FACE PROSECUTION

Barrister Kayode Oshinyemi, by virtue of his membership of one of the notable and noblest professions, with the accolade of 'Minister in the Sacred Temple of Justice' , defending the defenseless, has burnt his fingers to uncontrollable lust for money.

Oshinyemi, currently cooling his feet in the cell of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, was alleged to have, alongside his accomplices, mapped out strategies to kidnap a businessman, one Alhaji Shakirudeen Olufowobi, following the syndicate's failed attempts to defraud their target of #250million.

Disclosing this to Crimepuzzle, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a press statement that the arrest of the member of the Bar was sequel to a petition by the businessman to the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, alleging a threat to his life by the lawyer and his cohorts.

Oyeyemi averred that, the petitioner was emphatic on the role played by the lawyer in several failed attempts to fleece him.

He said, "the petitioner alleged that the lawyer, having failed in his several attempts to make him part with millions of Naira to the syndicate, went further to perfect a plan to either rope him in a case he knew nothing about or kidnap him for ransom.

"Meanwhile, prior to the planned kidnap attempt, some members of the syndicate had been nabbed in the petitioner's Al-Amin Farm in Imagbon, via Ijebu-Ode, for stealing", the PPRO stated .

According to him, "On the strength of the petition, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, directed the Officer-in-Charge of FSARS, SP Uba Adam, to discreetly investigate the petition.

"And, in compliance with the CP's order, the outfit embarked on a technical based investigation and monitoring of the said lawyer's activities. The operatives' efforts paid off as the lawyer was caught on tape, planning with others to device means of forcing the businessman to cough out the sum of #250 million, a proceed to be shared amongst all members of the gang.

"Arrested along with the lawyer are: Adeborode Ogunlaja, Sodiq Owolabi, Abolaji Alabi, Mikhail's Abolaji, Abiodun Adebayo and Abolaji Adebola", Oyeyemi stated.

The PPRO further stated that, "On interrogation, Mukaila Abolaji narrated how the lawyer, in collaboration with Adeborode Ogun Lara, lured him into the plan to fraudulently extort money from the complainant and how the money would be shared among them, stating that he reluctantly cued into the plan because of the amount of money involved.

In his own statement, Abiodun Adebayo, who regretted knowing the lawyer, accused him of once using him to profess a fake miracle in a crusade organised by one of his pastor friends.

He said he was made to tie a live tortoise to his chest at a crusade ground in Ilese-Ijebu, a ploy to fool the congregation that he was arrested by the Holy Ghost to openly confess being a member of an occult.

"An allegation the lawyer was unable to deny", the statement added.

Meanwhile, CP Iliyasu has ordered that the suspects be charged to court as soon as investigation was concluded.

APC Crisis: Shehu Sani "Oshiomhole Is Coming Too Late, We Are Leaving"
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 07-04-2018, 11:07 AM - No Replies

Quote:Senator Shehu Sani (APC, Kaduna) has revealed plans by aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State to leave the party.

He told reporters in Abuja, on Tuesday, that the new APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole assumed office at a time it had become too late to reconcile them with the party.

Sani said, “I wish Adams has come earlier because like I said these grenades that were laid by the former chairman will explode in a matter of days.”

According to him, party leaders including President Muhammadu Buhari have proved incapable of handling the crisis.

The Senator explained that the ward, local government and state congresses in Kaduna were flawed and that complaints he and other party members lodged were ignored by the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee.

He noted that to further compound am already bad situation, the immediate past party leadership went ahead to inaugurate the executive committee’s which emerged from the flawed congresses.

Sani said, “It is also very clear to us that even President Muhammadu Buhari is incapable of tackling the menace of the governor of Kaduna state.

“How can a governor, openly called for violence against Senators and not a statement came from the seat of power cautioning such a governor?

“How can a governor move bulldozers and demolish a house of a fellow party member, the one who helped him to be where he is and there is not even a statement from the presidency?

“The governor uses the machinery of the state to emasculate political opponents. He even framed me for murder and there was no statement that came from the presidency to caution such a governor.

“Virtually Kaduna state under governor El-Rufai does not create conducive environment for any of us to remain in that party (APC).”

The Senator also said, “There were three attempts to resolve the Kaduna APC crisis; there was Inuwa Abdulkadir committee which was never respected by the governor, there was the governor Masari- led committee which was also not respected and there as you can see, Tinubu’s attempt to reconcile members of the party was simply naturalized and abandoned. So we are not slaves to continue to be in that party.

Central Bank of Nigeria has facilitated the refunds of a total of N60 billion by commercial banks to their customers on March 31, 2018, through the intervention of the consumer protection department.

Dipo Fatokun, CBN director of Payment Systems Department, disclosed this at the ‘Meet The Executive’ forum organized by the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) in Lagos at the weekend.

Fatokun, who noted that the recovery also includes $18 million, 26,000 euros and 6000 British pounds, said such resolution will help build more confidence in the payment system and bring more people into the financial services network.

In furtherance of its statutory responsibility to promote confidence in the financial system, the CBN had over the years implemented a measure of consumer protection mainly in the form of customer complaint management.

The apex bank has also directed all commercial banks to resolve disputes arising from the use of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) within three days.

Fatokun, who was represented by Taiwo Oladimeji, assistant director, Banking, and Payments System Department, said maximum USSD transaction limit remained N100,000 per customer per day, adding that any amount above that required the customer to execute indemnity at the bank.

Man Rapes, Forces Daughter Into Marriage In Lagos (photo)
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

A 14-year-old girl (names withheld) has accused her father, Olawale Ibitoye, of raping and forcing her into marriage.
The incident occurred at 9, Olulu Close, Ketu, Epe, a Lagos suburb.

The victim made the allegation at a traditional birth centre she was taken to during labour.

The Nation gathered that Ibitoye also forced the girl to marry one Moses Okurukpe, who impregnated her.

Another father, Ashiru Amusan, who was arrested for defiling his 12-year-old daughter at Akowonjo area of the state, also blamed the devil.

The suspect, who admitted to raping the girl once, said he did not know what came over him.

But Ibitoye denied defiling his daughter, claiming the girl was in the habit of fleeing from home.

He denied forcing her into marriage, insisting the teenager was the one who brought the man and introduced him as her husband.

He said: “I did not sleep with my daughter. She is learning a trade because she ran away from school. Then, she came with a man saying she want to marry him in person of Moses Okurukpe, who was also ready to marry her.

“I told the man that she has not finished learning her trade and he said I should not worry he will continue the payment which is N5,000. She came home with a six-month-old pregnancy and claimed her husband impregnated her.

“I went to her husband and we both went to our town to see Olisa, the second king. The husband already took her to one mola and she admitted that the mola slept with her, which the mola did not deny the fact too.

“She was in labour and because she could not deliver we took her to a private hospital in Ijebu Ode where they did the necessary things and she delivered a baby. We were asked to pay N115,000. We did not have money so we left her there to look for money.

We raised N55,000 but the hospital said we must complete the money and we left her there to go and look for more money. It was there she said I slept with her. The baby died at the hospital.”

Okurukpe said: “I was not aware of her age. She looked bigger than her age so I did not bother asking of her age. She came to my house twice. I did not marry her rightfully. I made it known to her that if one is pregnant in my town another man should not sleep with her.”

Parading the suspects on Tuesday, the state Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, said the cases showed the moral decadence in the society.

According to him, the 14-year-old girl suffered double jeopardy in the hands of her father, who not only defiled her but forced her into marriage.

He said the victim opened up at the birth centre after she experienced difficulty in delivering the child.

Edgal said: “The cat was let out of the bag when the survivor became pregnant and was in labour for many days without being able to deliver the baby. She was then taken to a trado-medical home, where she confessed that her father had been having sex with her before he forced her into marriage with Okurukpe to cover his tracks.

“This is child marriage; this is sexual abuse and exploitation of the highest order. Both the father and the forced husband would be charged to court. This goes to show the erosion of values in our society.”

Firm to invest N8.235billion in ground transport at Lagos airport – FG

Firm to invest N8.235billion in ground transport at Lagos airport – FG)
[Image: 2018_3$large_Murtala_Mohammed_Intern..._Lagos.jpg]
The Minister of state for aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika has disclosed that a private firm, Elysium Integrated Development Company, has indicated interest to invest $27milion (N8.235bn) in a mass transit ground transportation structure at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

According to a statement from Mr. James Odaudu, the Deputy Director, Media & Public Affairs, Ministry of Transportation, Sen. Sirika made the disclosure while inaugurating the Project Team for the construction of the proposed new office complex and staff quarters for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Abuja.

The proposed FAAN complex and the staff quarters is to be executed through a public-private partnership arrangement.

Membership of the team is drawn from the Ministry of Transportation (Aviation), FAAN, the Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Federal Ministries of Finance, Justice and Budget and Planning.

According to Sirika, it is an irony that the Authority that has the mandate of building and managing airports in the country does not have a befitting office complex in the federal capital, just as its staff lack adequate and befitting residential quarters. This he said had the tendency to impede on their performances.

He said that the decision to construct the office complex and residential quarters through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement was to ensure that what would be delivered would be of a quality that represents value for money.

Addressing the Project Team members, the aviation minister charged them to ensure that the most suitable designs for the office complex and staff quarters where respectively delivered.

Among the team’s terms of reference is to identify and confirm the proposed location for the office complex and staff quarters and recommend means through which the Public-Private Partnership can be fast-tracked.

World Cup 2018: John Mikel Obi calls for greater security in Nigeria following father's kidnapping

BBC Sport, Nigeria

Mikel played against Argentina despite learning his father had been kidnapped hours earlier
Nigeria captain John Mikel Obi said the insecurity in the country is "scary" after his father was kidnapped for the second time in seven years.

Michael Obi and his driver were abducted at gunpoint on 26 June in Enugu but were released on Monday.

Mikel was told of his father's capture four hours before playing in Nigeria's 2-1 World Cup defeat by Argentina.

"For the second time I've had to live with the fears of losing my father and it is very scary," he told BBC Sport.

"Today it's my dad but tomorrow it could be someone else which makes it very scary."

Former Chelsea midfielder Mikel, who now plays for Chinese club Tianjin Teda, received a call from a family member while on the team bus to the St Petersburg Stadium, who told him he had to call the kidnappers on a designated number.

He did not confide in any of his team-mates or the Nigerian Football Federation before the match because he didn't want it to be a distraction.

"We are seeing a spate of terror attacks in some parts of the country which has already sown insecurity among citizens," he said.

"It does not matter what your status is in Nigeria, everyone deserves to feel safe and secured, as life becomes more risky than ever."

Obi's rescue was preceded by a gun battle between Nigerian police and the kidnappers, who then fled.

Super Eagles captain Mikel reportedly paid a ransom of 10 million naira (about £21,000) for his release, and his unhurt father is now "recuperating with family".

It is the second time Mikel's father has been kidnapped, with the first taking place in August 2011 while his son played for Chelsea.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner wants the government to do more in terms of general security.

"Life is already tough on people, then they have to start living in fears when they are going about looking for means of survival," he said.

"I want to encourage our government to continue its relentless efforts and fights on factions that creates fear and insecurity in our country.

"My father was hurt and tortured during his ordeal and this is unacceptable. I hope that the authorities will work harder to bring this bandits to justice.

"Representing my country is my greatest honour, I love my country and very proud to be a Nigerian."

Superintendent Ebere Amaraizu, of Enugu State Police Command, said: "The abductors started calling to demand a ransom of N10 million before police operatives acted on intelligence information and swooped on them.

"In the process of the rescue, a gun duel ensued between police operatives and the kidnappers which forced the hoodlums to abandon their victims inside the forest and they were promptly rescued."

It is not the first time a relative of a footballer has been abducted in Nigeria. Former Everton defender Joseph Yobo's brother was kidnapped in 2008, before being released two weeks later.

Giving Land For Ranching Better Than Death – Presidency
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-04-2018, 09:51 AM - No Replies

Quote:ABUJA—The Presidency, yesterday, charged those against the administration’s ranching and colony programmes for herdsmen to rethink, noting that they are better off living with the ranches and colonies than dying through the persisting conflicts.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, speaking on an AIT morning programme in response to a question on ancestral attachments to land said: “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive.

If you are talking about ancestral attachment, if you are dead, how does the attachment matter? The exhortation from the Presidency came on a day Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said that history would be harsh on the present administration if it failed to stop the mass killing of innocent Nigerians.

This is even as the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in the 17 Southern states yesterday said the insecurity pervading the country, particularly in the North Central zone, poses grave danger to the conduct of next year’s general elections.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, gave the admonishment as he alleged a conspiracy by alleged critics of the administration to frustrate moves towards resolving the crises in the country. Adesina, who spoke on AIT morning programme, said it was wrong to describe the attacks against farmers as one directed against Christians.

He said: “Hundreds have been killed in Zamfara, are they Christians? People have been killed in Birnin Gwari, are they Christians? “What is happening is criminality, pure and simple, and it must be brought to an end. Government has a big role to play in this but the people themselves have a role to play.” Noting what he described as a campaign to stop the implementation of the administration’s plans to check the farmers-herders conflict, Adesina said: “Some people are saying don’t use government money to build ranches. If truly they don’t have lands, that is fine, but remember that Kogi State offered 15,000 hectares of land for cattle colony and in the midst of that offer vicious attacks were unleashed.

“In Plateau State, where we had the recent orgy of killings, the government has offered land for ranches and I tell you that some people are interested in this thing not being resolved.” Better alive than a dead land owner".

Adesina Asked about the ancestral attachment by the people of those states to their lands, he said: “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive. If you are talking about ancestral attachment, if you are dead, how does the attachment matter? “The National Economic Council that recommended ranching didn’t just legislate it, there were recommendations. “So, if your state genuinely does not have land for ranching, it is understandable; not every state will have land for ranches. But where you have land and you can do something, please do for peace. What will the land be used for if those who own it are dead at the end of the day?”

Adesina further said the administration is doing its best to ensure peace throughout the country. “There are different theatres of crises in the country and you may look at each theatre with its peculiarities. In the Middle Belt, it has its own peculiarities and what is the peculiarity of that, Farmers-Herders conflict. What has the government done? “It has sent in security agencies starting with the police, later troops, later different operations by the military,” he said.

Kwankwaso, Others Pull Out Of APC; To Sign MoU With PDP - This Day

• Say Baraje, Saraki-led nPDP tied down with endless talks with APC

• To sign MoU with PDP

Iyobosa Uwugiaren in Abuja

Quote:Apparently unable to deal with the Alhaji Kawu Baraje-led new Peoples Democratic Party’s (nPDP) slow pace of talks with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other smaller political parties in forming a coalition against the All Progressives Congress (APC), another group known as ‘Reformed APC’ has emerged from the aggrieved group within the ruling APC.

Led by former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and other top members of the APC, especially at the National Assembly, the new group were formally announce its departure from the ruling party by Friday.

A member of the group told THISDAY in Abuja yesterday, “It appears Baraje and Senate President Bukola Saraki and their group are tied down by their endless discussion with APC.’’

According to the source, one of the leaders of Kwakwansiyya, a political group of Kwankwaso, “I don’t think many of us are comfortable with the slow pace of their political activities. So we have decided to move on. We have less than seven months to the general election and we cannot engage in an endless talk with APC.

“The new group, the Reformed APC being led by Kwankwaso and others, has decided to set up an interim committee with representatives from other parties like the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and other smaller parties to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PDP.’’

He disclosed that the emerging political group has completed the constitution of its interim committee and would be announced before Friday and early next week.

Asked whether the Baraje-led group has backed out of the conversation to form a coalition against APC or not, the close political associate of the former Kano State governor said, “I do not think so; we just noticed that they are too slow. And we do not have time on our side. They might still come to negotiation table with us and PDP, under the platform of nPDP.

“At the end of the day, we will all end up in PDP, with a strong understanding on how we should relate to defeat APC in the 2019 general election. But on our part, we have gone far with PDP, and the outcome of our discussion will be made known in the next few days.’’

THISDAY reported yesterday that members of the Baraje-led nPDP, an aggrieved group within the ruling APC, held a late night meeting on Monday to determine the way forward.

Among those said to have met included, Saraki; Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, and about 50 lawmakers from both chambers of the National Assembly.

Members of the group appeared to be divided over which party to move to. While majority of them agreed they should move straight to the PDP, others were said to have suggested that they should first and foremost form a coalition with SDP and others before they negotiate with PDP.

THISDAY gathered that the outcome of the conversation by the group was to be made known before Friday, with about 20 APC senators and many members of House of Representatives defecting.

Kwankwaso was in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital last week, to inform Governor Ayo Fayose about his resolve to return to PDP.

He also met with former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on the same issue.

Members of the former nPDP bloc within the APC had addressed a letter dated April 27, 2018 to the then Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, where they informed the party of their grievances and expectations from both the party and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Following the development, the party invited them and they met with the leadership of the party.

But following the escalation of hostility by the federal government against leading members of the bloc, including Saraki, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Senator Jonah Jang and Senator Peter Nwaboshi, who were confronted with criminal allegations by state security agencies, the nPDP pulled out of the peace initiatives.

Last week, Baraje said in a statement that the bloc would make its decision on its future with the APC known this week.

Morning Devotional For Wednesday 4th July

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 4TH JULY.

DEAD TO SIN.

...How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein (Romans 6:2).
The Apostle Paul, talking about our righteousness, salvation and the grace that we’ve received from God and how they came about, made the statement in our opening verse. He wasn’t referring to himself and the other apostles alone, but to all of us; we’re dead to sin. That means sin has no power over you, because the nature of sin was supplanted with the nature of righteousness.

1 Corinthians 15:56 lets us know that the strength of sin is the law, but then, the very thing that gave life to sin, which is the law, has been abolished by Jesus. Ephesians 2:15 says He “…abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances….” The Lord Jesus has given us victory over sin, death and the grave! We’ve been made, not just righteous, but the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. See yourself in this light.

The Word of God is Light, and it’s also a mirror that shows who you really are. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Now, the Word says you’re dead to sin. As you contemplate that reality in the Word, you’re metamorphosed into that truth—into the same image that is revealed in the mirror.

The image in the mirror is that of one who’s dead to sin but alive to God and unto righteousness. That’s you! Your response should be, “Yes! I’m dead to sin, and alive to God, and to righteousness, because I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 6:11 says, “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God wants you to become conscious that you’re dead to sin. Take this as an absolute truth and live accordingly. Refuse to think that you’re a slave to sin or any wrong habit; become righteousness-conscious.

CONFESSION

I’m cleansed and vitalized through and through by the power of the Word. I’m washed; I’m sanctified; I’m justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Amen!

FURTHER STUDY:

James 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

4TH JULY.

I affirm that the Lord has perfected that which concerns me! I am strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. I am an offspring of the Word; as Jesus is, so am I in this world. Life is not a mystery unto me because the Holy Spirit teaches me all things. The truths of God are unveiled to my spirit, and by them, I dwell continually in the realms of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

My life is regulated by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus; therefore, there’s no death, defeat or failure in my path. My life is upward and forward only! Hallelujah. I can never be disadvantaged in life! I am in Christ; I am seated with Him in the place of authority, over and above all principality, power, and the rulers of the darkness of this world! I am an heir of God; the seed of Abraham, with complete access to an incorruptible inheritance.

I am blessed beyond measure, and everything that is consistent with the good life: increase, progress, success, fruitfulness, productivity and a life of glory are my birthright. Hallelujah! I refuse to be moved by inflation, economic downturns, and meltdowns because I live in a different plane of life! Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES NOW

• Be bold to say the same things that God has said concerning you in His Word. That is what takes you beyond salvation, to enjoy the benefits of salvation ~ Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

God bless you.

How to use three different vegetables, ugu, green and waterleaf in one soup
[Image: breakfast+ideas.+rice+with+moi+moi+veget...en+023.JPG]
amaranth ugu vegetable soup served with rice, moi moi and coated chicken.
This meal is so nutritious, healthy, filling and interesting. It was very easy to cook because
the moi moi and crisp coated chicken were brought out of the freezer and microwaved, while I only boiled rice and made the vegetable stew.

Ingredients for the ugu and green aleho vegetable stew:

 • 1 small bunch Ugu
 • 1 small bunch green amarant (Aleho)
 • 1 bunch water leaf
 • 1 cup roughly ground crayfish
 • 1 teaspoon ground fresh pepper
 • 1 medium sized onion
 • 2 cups palm oil
 • 2 seasoning cubes
 • salt to taste
 • water
This delicious meal just happened because it wasn't what I planned to cook. Communication problems between James and I led to my cooking this. James was asked to go get me water leaf, my plan was to cook ugu stew with the water leaf. Because he understands Hausa while I communicate in English, he went to the market and came back with green amaranth, I had no choice than to cook just amaranth and ugu without water leaf.
However, The result made me thank Mr James for not understanding  English Language.

Everyone enjoyed this, and ate so well. At the end of the day, I didn't feel bad anymore. I was happy that the dish earned a lot of praises. I will advise you to include water leaf when you make yours though.

Cooking Procedure for ugu and green vegetable soup:

 1. Wash and parboil rice, then boil again with some salt until rice is cooked, set aside.
 2. Fry onion, pepper with seasoning, crayfish in hot oil before adding the washed vegetables, stir and leave for just a minute.
 3. Check for salt and seasoning, stir and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or more.
 4. Serve with boiled rice, moi moi and coated chicken

Sack security chiefs, stop re-election campaign – Primate Ayodele warns Buhari

Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and spiritual head of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has disclosed how President Muhammadu Buhari can put an end to the killings by alleged armed herdsmen across the country.

Ayodele said the President should change his Security Chiefs because they don’t understand the security situation in Nigeria.

Speaking with Tribune, the clergyman also admonished Buhari to halt his re-election campaign and address the herdsmen crises.

He stressed that he had forewarned the nation of these happenings in his earlier prophecies.

According to Ayodele, “I have repeatedly cautioned the Federal Government about the herdsmen crises. President Buhari should change his service chiefs.

“They don’t understand the security situation in the nation anymore. There is economic hardship in the country. He should stop re-election campaign and address the insecurity in the country. He is not in charge of the government. The cabal working against the nation’s interest has taken over the government.

“Nigeria should pray against more killings. We should also pray against train mishap in the country. Nigeria’s economy will get worse. The Lagos tanker explosion which claimed many lives will have a repeat except the Lagos State governor clears the bridge along the Western Avenue area and other major bridges in the state. More proactive measures should be taken to stop a repeat.”

 Nigerian Green Vegetable Stew.
Cooking this garden egg leaf vegetable stew is my first time ever shopping or cooking or even eating garden egg leaves. Growing up,
I never knew these nutritious vegetables were edible. We were only given the garden eggs (Eggplants) Cooked the garden eggs as stew or ate them raw as snack without touching the leaves. As an adult, I started to see garden egg leaves in the market when I go shopping vegetables, and began to ask questions but never thought about cooking them in my kitchen. One day while searching the nutritional benefits of green leafy vegetables, I discovered that among the vegetables I see in Nigerian markets, garden egg leaves range very very high. I didn't believe the vegetable sellers when they advised that these scarce green leaf vegetables are better when it comes to boosting blood levels and Kidney cleansing until Google search convinced me.
Recent investigations have shown that garden egg leaves are rich in phytochemical, which protects the body from cancer formation.
For pregnant women, eating garden egg leaves provide the baby with basic mineral elements for proper development and also prevents inborn errors of metabolism, defects and improves the baby’s weight. This is because anara is rich in mineral elements especially folic acid which is necessary for red cell formation,” Dr Anwacha of University Of Uyo, Nigeria, explained after a research carried out on rats fed garden egg leaves, apples and oats revealed that garden egg leaves were better in controlling cholesterol levels in these mammals. He explains that Garden Egg leaves are beneficial to the whole family especially those suffering from Glaucoma because it lowers the eye (Inta-ocular) pressure.
For those who drink ugu juice to improve blood levels, so many now confess that drinking garden egg leaf juice works even faster.
With this insight , I had to shop these vegetables and make my Nigerian vegetable stew which was served with boiled rice. It came in handy considering the recent hike in price of tomato fruits. It's really really delicious.
When I started cooking this stew, the way my kids were making faces and showing surprise at the sight of garden egg leaves in the kitchen, I thought they won't like the stew but to my surprise, the big pot was cleared same day as those who took little to taste ended up asking for more stew servings. I love the yummy taste of this vegetable stew.
Garden egg leaves vegetable stew is worth trying. I wish I started earlier...
Because of its efficacy as I learnt on Google, had to squeeze a glass of juice out and drink before cooking the vegetables, Lol.

Abike Dabiri under attack on social media as says Nigerians are in bottomless pit

Nigerians have expressed their anger over a tweet by the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa.

The former lawmaker had in a tweet on Monday morning said that “we [Nigerians] found ourselves in a bottomless pit more or less.”

Nigerians did not find her words suiting.

Dabiri-Erewa had added in the tweet that, “APC under PMB is trying to build a solid foundation that will bring sustained progress, that will eventually take us to the top of the mountain.”

But the social media users wondered why the Presidential aide would use the word “bottomless pit,” to address the Nigerian situation.

Some of the reactions under her tweet below:

@JamesOkene, “Bottomless pit? You should chose the words you use as a public officials. So sad that power changes people. But my advice to you is just stay off social media if you don’t know what to defend rightly. When over 90% attack you concerning your tweet, you should know you are wrong.”

@adenoah1, “Power hasn’t changed her . The mask has just been removed.”

@nnaemekaogu, “Is the bottomless pit sending Pythons to dance where there was relative peace to murder innocent people and asking Nigerians to pray where terrorists herders are killing people? May God judge you all 4 playing politics with human blood.”

‏@welly98welly, “My happiness is that posterity is already judging them bitterly and they will be remembered in d sad and dark book of history. They will call for sun they will not see, they will call for rain they will not see, day shall become darkness to them & in darkness will they be forgotten.”

@OluZik, “What pit ma? You are an highly respected person of integrity right from your time at NTA, don’t join this cycle of lies and deceit please.”

@AMILOADED

Quote:A 25-year-old man, Olusola Simeon, is currently cooling his heels in the custody of Ilesa prison for beating and inflicting injuries on his girlfriend's face after the latter made efforts to move to his place.

Simeone was convicted on the allegation of assault by an Osogbo Magistrate's Court in Osun state on Tuesday.

Miss Fadahunsi Alaba, was said to have, at about 9:15pm on July 2, 2018, moved her belongings to Simeon's house unnoticed before she met his wife and kids.

To her dismay, Alaba was said to have expressed anger and queried Simeon on the family he has, stressing that he did not tell her that he is married since the last six years they have been dating.

According to the prosecution, the convict was furious that Alaba visited his home without informing him, a development that led to a quarrel.

Meanwhile, Simeon, who was arraigned in court by the Police, pleaded guilty to the charge of assault.

The Prosecutor, Mr. Jafani Muslim, told the court that the convict battered Alaba at his place in Agowande Area, Osogbo.

He said Simeon committed an offence that contravened section 355 of the criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11,. Laws of Osun State, 2003.

The Magistrate, Mrs Awodele Adedoyin, found Simeon guilty after a summary trial and ordered that he be remanded in Ilesha prison custody till August 3 that the court would pronounce judgement on the matter.

Gani Adams On Killer Herdsmen: 'Time To Check This Madness Is Now'
User Avatar Forum: Conflicts
Posted by: Edoman - 07-03-2018, 09:14 PM - No Replies

Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Iba Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland has called for an urgent Security Summit in the South West where the rampaging killings by suspected herdsmen can be discussed.

In a statement, he personally signed on Tuesday, Adams said it is worrisome that while bloodthirsty maniacs are on the prowl killing and maiming innocent Nigerians, the federal government seems helpless to curtail the situation.

The statement read: “Events of the last few months have shown that Nigeria is at the crossroads, Strange things are happening in the country. Blood thirsty maniacs are on the rampage, killing and maiming innocent Nigerians.

“The insecurity in the land is reaching an alarming peak. Pitiably, the ‘clear and present danger’ today is that the government seems helpless to curtail the situation.

“In some sections of the country, it is no longer ‘breaking news’ that marauders kill farmers at will. Because these killings are giving patriotic Nigerians the creeps, patriots are shouting themselves hoarse, telling the government to do something urgent to check the trend. While members of the comity of nations are alarmed about happenings in our country, it appears as if they are crying more than the bereaved.

“Although the government has promised to check the rampaging lunatics, Nigerians are still not convinced of a decisive clampdown on these killers.

Thousands of lives have been lost to these sons of Lucifer, but it is strange that not even a single arrest or prosecution has been affected.
Without sounding immodest, the more than 60 million Yoruba in this geographical space are the most accommodating ethnic group.
Yoruba sons and daughters are dedicated to the Nigerian project, promoting peace and unity in the land.

When I was installed as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland by His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye and Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, on January 13, 2018, I vowed that I would do everything to project the image and protect the name of Yorubaland.

Sadly, my zeal to protect Yorubaland and the will of millions of Yoruba to defend their fatherland are being tested with the invasion of some parts of our land by these killers.

I find it difficult to comprehend this open insult that some killers, whose kinsmen live in our villages, towns and cities, will invade Yorubaland at will, kidnap, rape and, in some bizarre situations, kill some of our sons and daughters.

The borders of Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo and Kogi states are becoming too hot for indigenes as many people have been kidnapped, leading to soldiers going after these killers deep inside the forest.

Obviously, our silence is being misconstrued for foolishness. We cannot continue to expose the flanks of Yoruba societies and communities to incursions and attacks because we have enough hunters, traditionalists, farmers and ancestral security outfits to commence the maximum protection of all parts of Yorubaland.

Strangers are gradually taking over parts of our land but according to history, marauders, arsonists and murderous gangs failed, and will continue to fail, to conquer Yorubaland.

The first fundamental right of a Nigerian is the ‘Right to Life’. The day will never come when Yoruba men, women, adults and infants can no longer move freely in their fatherland. Insult from these killers to the Yoruba Nation is gradually creeping in. You will recall that Senator Ayo Arise was recently abducted on his way to Abuja.

“A Methodist priest was also abducted in Osun. Our traditional institution was desecrated on June 23 when Olori Olukemi Agunloye, the wife of Oba Samuel Kehinde Agunloye, the Alauga of Auga Akoko, in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, was abducted on the notorious Auga/Ise Road in the Akoko area of the state.

“The next day, more than 200 innocent men, women and children were killed in Plateau State. Are we going to wait for this type of barbaric killing to happen before we rise against this evil in Yorubaland? Time to check this madness is now”.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT (HADUWAR MU) Episode 1

❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Right from childhood,i have always been a lively person.I am not the kind of person who doesnt make friends easily, but when i do,i keep them for life....I love adventures, like real adventure...Vising new places, interacting with people with the same mind set as me has always been a pleasure to me...I don’t try to be who i am not and i don’t hide how i feel about anything or about anyone.

I have always had the dream of coming a pilot, but that dream was crushed when i couldn’t get admitted into the flying school due to my hatred for physics, which lo and behold was a necessary requirement for the flying school programmes. I ended up studying Computer science as my major with information technology as a subsidiary course.
I sat on the couch listening to the Ramadhan programme for the day on sunnah tv when i heard Umma calling from the kitchen.............”Yumnah”.....Umma shouted again from the kitchen as i quickly got on my feet and raced towards the kitchen.....”Yumna,today of all days isn’t a day for you to sit around and be lazing here and there...atleast not by this time...today is the first day of Ramadhan and its just about an hour to Iftaar, yet the food still isn’t ready,in ba baza kiyi girkin ba atleast sai ki tsaya kiyi coordinating. (even if you wont participate atleast stay and coordinate.).
“Wallahi Umma i am so tired ne shiyasa ( that is why), and almost everything has been set...i
fried the chips, chicken salad is ready, made the toast and the turkey has been in the oven for over 4hours now and should be well roasted in about 30minutes...the cooks are handling the Kunu and Kosai, which as you know Umma isn’t my department”....i said and gave Umma a grim while she gave me a blank look.....”not your department?”......Umma asked wondering what i meant by that......”eh mana....Umma kinsan (you know) traditional dishes indai ba (except) miyar Kuka da Semovita bah...then i’d rather go continental”.....i said smiling with my lips are wide as anything and Umma smiled too.........
“anyways, tunda your continental dishes as you have said are ready, you should go and get
ready, your father will be breaking his fast with his brothers, and i also have to sit with them so it wouldn’t look like i don’t want them here.....Ahmad will be coming as Usually to have Iftar here so you should go and get ready”......Umma said and was about to leave when i stopped her with a sad look......”does he have to come this year....i am tired of this tradition of him coming here for iftaar every 1st, 10th,15th and 25th day of the month of ramadhan...”........ i said not even trying to hide my disappointment.....
“but its always been a tradition you two made for eachother even before your father and i
became ok with it”......... Umma said.....”well i guess we need new traditions around here”.....i said rolling my hands down my long over dued for relaxing hair....”it wouldn’t be a tradition if it is new now would it?..go and get dressed”....Umma said and left me standing there....
”i am 21 years old now,not 17 anymore....when will my parents get this?..”......i said and headed to my room stamping my feet on the floor.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT (Haduwar mu) Episode 2
       ❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Sometimes......no most of the times the choices we think are right for us only to end up realising they were what we thought we wanted or what we thought we needed but not actually what we really want, same rules apply for a lot of decisions in our lives.

I thought I wanted Ahmad,or may be at some point he was all I wanted....Ahmad and I have been having this thing going on for like ever, but strangely my taste seems to have changed over time...
Yes he is nice, yes he is religious ,yes his parents are influential just like mine, and yes I know I love him ,so much at that...but for some reasons lately I have been feeling as though something is lacking in our relationship and its killing me trying to find out what....
Like every Ramadhan it had been a tradition for us to have iftar together on some specific days during the first 10 days, the middle and then the last 10days of the holy and blessed month, but this year I just want to let go of that tradition as it seems a bit outdated,I need new tradions, but then again Umma was right when she said they wouldn't be traditions if they were new....
"I need to call Shaheeda, she would know what to say to calm me down"......I said to myself as I picked up my brand new iPhone 7 plus up from the bed to dial her number....
"Hello".....I said immediately she picked up......"What trouble are you in today Yum?".....Shaheeda said calling me Yum as she always does....
"Indecisiveness"......I said...."Hold on,I don't just call when I'm in trouble and there you are thinking I called because I am in some sought of trouble".....I said sarcastically....."Yum, I have known you since kindergarten,I kno you so well...so shoot already"......Shaheeda said laughing softly......"Still on Ahmad's issue"......I said restlessly......"Yum,I can't talk to you about matters of the heart, especially when I know how much you love Ahmad, may be shedan ke miki fitsari a kae"......Shaheeda said and laughed so hard......
"not funny Shay....wallahi I'm totally losing interest in Ahmad.........irin totallyyyyyy".....I emphasized with so much seriousness....."Yum,I think the best thing for you to do is to seriously pray about this....its Ramadan,so your problem is half solved...just let your heart be at rest, intensify your prayers and let Allah make this decision for you."........Shaheeda said calmly...."I love you Shay.....I really really love you,I ll do just as you have said...I have to go its almost iftaar and  Ahmad will be here soon.".....I said in such a hurry....."Love you too Yum...my love to Ahmad".....Shaheeda said ....."Would do ...bye "......I said and hung up hurriedly.
I quickly removed the top  which I wore with a tight fitting trouser and brought out a blue and white kimono from my wardrobe....I looked slightly at the mirror, adjusted my tarha(veil wrapped around the head) and made a fake smile at my image in the mirror and then left the room almost immediately...
"Yumna,Ahmadieee is here"........my mum's immediate younger sister whose husband was abroad for PhD said with a smile....."he's too old for that name".....I said not seeming interested....."Anyways yana parlor, everything you guys will need are all set...and Yumna??".....my aunt said....."Naam".....I said turning to look at her....."we need to talk, seriously talk".....she said....."okies"......I said, implying the usual way when I am not interested in something.
I got to the parlor and met Ahmad already praying magrib prayer after which he looked at me and smiled...I smiled back at him...."Ahmadieee barka da Shan Ruwa".......I said jokingly...."Where's that coming from".....Ahmad said laughing slightly...."Aunty Binta just called you that...I totally forgot I used to call you that".....I said laughing so hard while I poured hot water into the mugs....."Wallahi nima...anyways iftaar Kareem to you too"......Ahmad said smiling lightly......"I miss our childhood....a lot has changed ...so much"......I said staring blankly at my plate of mashed  potatoe and egg sauce side dished with chicken Salad and wings.
"Not so much has changed...we havent changed...we re still here...me ,you and everything we have, everything we have always had "......Ahmad said looking down at the toast on his plate just like the typical fulani guy that he is.
"I am so full I can hardly talk, thank God I prayed before eating".....I said and Ahmad got up almost immediately......"Yea...I have to go Yumna,I really would like to stay but my dad is having iftaar feast at home, but I just had to come because of our long tradition, now I have to get back before he notices I'm missing"......Ahmad said with a smile and turned to leave...."its ok"....was all I could say...."talk to you later".....Ahmad said and left.
I rushed to my room to take off the heavy kimono i was wearing and my aunt entered almost  immediately I did that....."Yumna what's going on between you and Ahmad, you have become a little cold towards him these days".......Aunty Binta said ....
"You are getting too old,we are perfectly fine"......I said placing my hand on her shoulders and smiling lightly...."Ah Toh Alhamdulillah, just checking dama...plus I'm 32,life begins at 40"......Aunty Binta said laughing hard and left.
I shot the door behind her and looked at myself in the mirror while I continued to ponder on what could possibly be wrong with me.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT (Haduwar mu) Episode 3

     ❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Life they say is full of lessons, and these lessons help one way or the other in shaping our lives, this one reason was one of the reasons why through out the month of Ramadan I tried to make peace with Ahmad...

The programmes I listened to  and watched on t.v helped me in making the decision to forget about everything and concentrate more on the ibadat  which is the main reason for our creation and existence.
Everyday I live with fear...The month of ramadan had come just a while ago and would be leaving today...as Umma always say...."years have rolled down to months and months weeks and weeks days ..mutun dole yaji tsoran Allah because bai san a wani yanayi Allah zai dauki ransa ba".....and these words have been ringing in my ears for far too long....Longer than I can remember...
"Easy there young lady, you have been scrubbing that same spot for more than ten minutes".......Aunty Binta said to me...
I looked quickly at the sponge I was holding against the large tray I was washing....."nothing too serious, just got lost in thoughts"....I said with a smile....
"Ok,pass me the tray, gobe Sallah and we have a lot to do".....Aunty Binta said stretching out a hand...."Nikam I have done my part,I'm going to set the dinning table for iftar".....I said and walked out of the kitchen.....
I got to the parlor and heard my phone ringing, and I picked it up without hesitation..."Shay"....I mumbled out upon seeing the caller's ID...."Shay,its almost time for iftar you should be in the kitchen just like me,not calling".....I said jokingly....."Ji mun wannan yarinyan,we all know who is more active in the kitchen among the two of us".....Shay said and we laughed it off.....
"So what's up?"....I asked curiously...."I have a surprise for you,but first sai kin bada tukuici"......Shay said sounding super excited.
"Ok,but how am I sure the good news is really good and worth any tukuici"......I said rolling my eyes....."trust me it is,and I'm always damn serious whenever I say trust me".....Shay said sounding so serious.....
"ok ok ok....you can have that pink diary you have always wanted"....I said now sounding so eager...."fair enough.....ok ok.....So you know that dream of yours I promised to fulfil as long as you  teach me how to bake?".....Shay said talking super fast.....
"Yea...so you know I asked for your CV some weeks ago and you asked me what I wanted with it and I told you not to get excited until you have to and you were so lost and became furious because you thought I was speaking in a language you don't understand".....Shay said super fast I could hardly make out what she was saying..
"Cut to the chase Shay, you very well know how much I hate suspense".....I said with my heart beating in two's......"Ok...ok.."....Shay said sounding super excited . ."I saw this advert online some weeks ago on my uncle's laptop, about Ethiopian airways recruiting hostesses and I asked him about it and he said he knows someone in their office here in Kano who knows someone in the head office at Addis Ababa....and I sent him along with your CV and told him how much you dream of being an air hostess and he agreed to help...I have since then been monitoring your email, knowing pretty well how you go weeks without checking and today....I can across your acceptance/ interview letter".....Shay said and the hunger in my tummy just disappeared.
"Shay,I am so hungry, this joke is certainly too expensive gaskiya"....I sais hoping to hear her say its not a joke....
"Yum I'm serious....you got in...all you have to do now is the presentation and interview, which is 3days after Eid by the way, and if you dont believe me,then check your email".....Shay said sarcastically..
"omg....omg...Shay I love you...I super super love you"......was all I could say while jumping like a lemur....."You are welcome...an kira sallah....iftar kareem and bye".....Shay said and hung up.
I spent the better part of the evening jumping like all the birds I know until one thought struck my head...."Will Abba agree?"....

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT -(Haduwar mu) Episode 4

   ❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Growing up is a constantly evolving process...As we grow older we tend to need things we never needed when we were kids, especially we girls tend to want privacy, our own room, our own space and we always expect everything to be done our way.

As all parents,my parents had dreams of what they wanted me to become...Left to my dad the decision for a career for me was pretty very simple....As a child I was smart, intelligent and really straight forward...I grabbed easily whatever I was taught...."My sweet little Yumna is a born doctor".....My dad would always say...

I wanted that too as I started growing a bit older, but heyyyy....came my cycles and I realized just how much I detested the sight of blood.....No...no ...no I just couldn't stand it wollah....It irritated me as hell, but being a girl I adapted, but that's because its mine, doesn't mean I could ever learn to deal with that of others.

If at the age of fifteen I hated blood that much, what more If i grew older?...."Pilot Abba ...I want to be a pilot"....I always said to Abba.....

"Yumna being a pilot suits men most...besides considering our culture and traditions,no man will let him wife fly all th time".....Abba would always say....."Isn't it the same thing as being a doctor,I would hardly have time for my family".....I would always reply.

"But not as time consuming as being a pilot....you are weak in physics Yumna, and you know you need it to be a pilot"....Abba always said....

"I hate Biology"....I would always say...."plus I hate blood too Abba".....I would add to make my point....

It took a lot of convincing before Abba let me off the Medicine hook and allowed me to settle with Computer science and information technology after trying so hard but couldn't get into the flying school.

"how do I convince Abba now to let me become an air hostess"....I said as I practiced my speech pacing up and down on the corridor.....

"What are you doing"......Umma said as she opened the door without me realising it......."Uhmhmmm...nothing just jogging a bit?".....I stammered......
"Yumna are you 12?....You know you can ask me anything, anything at all.....its either a yes or a no....its that simple....just ask and stop wasting your energy pacing up and down"......Umma said with a completely smile-free face.......

"well Umma, yes I'm pacing and yes I have a favour to ask.....but no its not from you....".....I said slowly and a bit worried....

"Me kike jira then...go and ask him".....Umma said moving away from the door....."Umma just a little tip,is he in a good mood?".....I asked curiously....

"He is in a good mood ofcourse Gobe Sallah, but if you are going to ask him if you can go out with Ahmad tomorrow you know it ll be a no,your father doesn't allow that and you know it..Duk inda mace da namiji suka kebe na ukun su sheda...I'm sure you have mastered those lines by now".....Umma said clearly angry at something.

"no that's not it...its something else and ......"Banyi shirin yin masa da miyar taushe ba and your father said that's what he wants after Eid tomorrow,I have a lot to do,go face your disappointment"......Umma said interrupting me and walked away.

I stood there for what seemed like forever before getting the courage...."now or never Yum"....I said to my nervous self.

"Salamualaikum".....I said as I entered Abba's parlor...."waalaikisalam".....Abba replied....."Abba Sannu da Hutawa"......I said sitting beside his feet....."Yauwa mamana".....he said the Usual way he replies me considering I was named after him mom ,Maryam.

"Abba,I..I..."...I tried to say and the words just wouldn't come out....."Mamana,you know you can tell me anything"....Abba said and that sounded a bit relieving......"Abba I got a job".....I said and almost couldn't believe I said it.

"Really?but where"....Abba asked sounding amazed....."With Ethiopian airways".....I said nervously......"Ok,that's good"....Abba said sounding excited and I almost couldn't believe it....."but as what? What will you be assigned to?Ticketing, administrative duties?tell me the details".....Abba said sounding interested...

"As an ....air.... hostess"......I said looking down at my sweaty palms....."Yumna,you know that an impossible job for a Muslim Hausa girl, our culture, our tradition, the hostesses' outfit just is the main issue here and the too much flying around"....Abba said..

"Abba I know, and I really want this and I know you trust me and believe in the kind of upbringing you gave me....too much flying around would be me working Abba.....and the interview and audition and training is in 3days....Dan Allah kayi Naam, not to mention the pay is incredibly good too".....I said sounding desperate.

"No Yumna...if its about the money, tell me how much they pay and I ll give it to you every month until I find you a suitable job,but just not this job".....Abba said with a stern look in my eyes.....

"Abba please".....I begged....."kije ki sha ruwa,an Kira Sallah"....Abba said and stood up,leaving me there in tears.

     ❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Eid used to be my favourite time of the year, the festivities, the people, the visits, the new clothes and endless spices in food...This year's Eid took a drastic turn over after Abba declined my request to allow me take  the job I just got.

I have tried so hard, have been trying for the past three days to fight back the tears that can't stop flowing from my eyes...."Yumna are you seriously still doing this?".....Umma sai7d entering my room without knocking.

I said nothing to Umma but just kept on staring at her...."Yumna Kinsan Abbanki, when he says no ,then its for a reason and when he says yes ,its also for a reason, you have been crying your eyes out for the past three days, its Sallah, your favourite time of the year,Amma you have locked yourself in your room for no reason,Shahida came jiya and you clearly refused to see her,Ahmad too...Yumna you can't live your life forever crying like a baby".....Umma said sitting beside me....

"Umma I want this,I really want this job....not only will I get paid handsomely,I love flying Umma, you know I do....what's so wrong with me doing what I love.. ..I know the cultural factor and all but don't you honestly trust me and the kind of upbringing you gave me???".....I said in tears..

"I trust you mamana,I do,which is why I called someone I know at the Abuja office to enquire and he assured me their cabin crew are disciplined and have standards and he assured me to let you if I can take the job".....Abba said out of nowhere and I just couldn't close my mouth...

"You did?".....I asked crying with joy...."Yumna,I ll never stop you from pursuing your dreams, but every father who truly loves his daughter has to do these underground checks before letting her go into the broad world...but now you promise me you will never do anything contradictory to what our religion believes in,I know you know yourself, and I trust you, promise you will continue being the good girl I know you to be".....Abba said...

"I promise Abba,in shaa Allah"....I said wiping the tears off my face with my palm..."go and get ready for the interview,it will start in about two hours, you don't want to be late".....Abba said leaving the room along side Umma.

I quickly jumped out of my P.Js (pyjamas) and into my towel.I took a quick hot shower and decided to dial Shaheeda before getting ready..

"please tell me you are ready and I will pick you in ten minutes"......I said immediately Shay picked....."Hello....is she dead....finally I have been waiting to hear the good news"....Shay said...

"Shay kin fara koh?".....I said...."ah to ai na dauka you will kill your self just because your dad said no".....Shaheeda said....."Anyways yanxu he has agreed,I'm coming to pick you hope kin shirya".....I said super fast...."Ofcourse na shirya...see you in ten".....Shaheeda said and hung up.

I got out of my room wearing a long dark blue pencil skirt,a cream peplum top and a silver belt..I quickly wrapped my head neatly with a dark blue tarha ,picked up my purse, credentials and key cars and stepped out in wedge (my favourite kind of shoes).

Umma I'm leaving"....I said waving at her....."Allah ya taimaka ya tabbatar da alkhairi"....Umma said smiling softly...."Ameen thumma ameen".....I said and got out into the drive way.

I got to Shaheeda's house at about 9.30 am and she was already at the gate waiting for me...."So much for I ll be there in 10"....Shaheeda said stepping into the car..."I had to get ready, you know first impression matters".....I said pulling up my black glasses and pulled out of the drive way.

We got to the audition / interview venue at exactly 10am...I was really surprised at the low turn up...."What do you expect?...not everyone has passion for the job, people like me for instance and how many people of this era actually understand both French and English fluently when most people skip French classes at school and French is one of the two internationally recognized languages in the world, which is why it is a necessary requirement for the job".....Shaheeda said sarcastically...

"Well watch and learn baby...soon you will want to join the clique"....I said closing the door of my car and heading into the venue.

" je vous souhaite le meilleur (all the best)".....Shaheeda shouted...

" Bien sûr, vous savez que je vais bien (ofcourse you know I will do well)"......I shouted back waving a hand.

The orientation/audition/ interview ended at about 2pm and I was very positive I will get the job...."I hope you get the job"....Shaheeda said as I dropped her off at home...."I hope so Shay...thanks a lot for everything"......I said smiling softly.

"ameen Ameen....drive safe, love you Yum".....Shay said...  "I ll and love you more shay"......I said and zoomed out of the house.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT -(Haduwar mu) Episode 6

        ❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Having achieved ones' dream is one of the most fulfilling feelings in the world.Flying around the world has always been a dream..I have always dreamed about travelling the world with my future husband, but that's in my fairytale world ofcourse, because I say to myself ,1.what are the chances of me marrying someone who has that much money to travel the whole world with, and 2.someone who has that much money will be too busy counting his millions to ever make time to travel the world with me,and 3.I can seriously not marry a person who wouldn't have time for me which bring me to 4,what if I marry someone who has the money, and the time but has phobia for flying.

I couldnt take chances, which is why being a cabin crew became the safest option for me...I get to travel the world,Africa,Europe,South and North America ,Asia, and every other continent in existence and probably any new one to be found if there's ever that possibility.

I was almost home when my appointment letter was sent to my email and I could hardly contain myself as I scanned through it....I got home a few minutes after that and could hardly lock my car before rushing in to tell my parents.

The first face I saw when I entered was Ahmad's...."Hey sweetie".....I said sounding super excited...."Hey...what's with the happiest?"......he asked smiling...."I just got a job".....I said shouting at the top of my voice...."bara na fadawa su Umma I ll be right back".....I added and left the parlor.

I went back to Ahmad after informing my parents and they were more than happy...."Yum,when did you change so much".....Ahmad said so softly immediately I sat down and opened the ice cream he got me.

"what do you mean?".....I said pretending to not know what he was talking about....."You have. Changed Yum.....no calls,no texts".....Ahmad said and I swear he has never looked as cute and adorable.

"Nothing has changed Aaa(the name with which I have always called Ahmad since we were kids)..I just have a lot going on that's it,but other than that we are good"......I lied ...."If truly you are telling me the truth then why  not look at me and say it".....Ahmad said so calmly...

"I had this thing going on and I just wasn't myself and I needed space from everything and everyone shiyasa"....I said bluntly......"Shiyasa kikae ignoring din calls ena?since when did we start hiding things from eachother Yum?".....Ahmad asked sounding very worried.

"I got a job with Ethiopian airlines,Abba was against it at first but later agreed to it and I was really scared and upset ,which was why I was acting a bit off.".....I said confidently.....

"Yumna you changed way before then...I have been noticing but not saying anything,Dan Allah if I did something wrong just tell me?"....Ahmad said and I have never felt more pity for him....."I'm so so sorry Aaa...I promise you you did nothing wrong...and things will be better okkk"......I said s calmly...

"promise"....Ahmad asked with a smile....."Sure thing Aaa".....I said with a smile too...."I have to go"....Ahmad said. .."So soon?".....I said with a frown...."Yea,walk me to my car,I have something to show you"......Ahmad said we stepped out all smiles.

I stood a bit far from the driver's seat door as I watched Ahmad bringing something like a file out of his car...."What's this"....I said with a smile as I collected the file from him...."Its a plan....our future house plan...I brought it so you will choose Wanda yayi miki".....Ahmad said....

"Do I have to?just choose which ever one suits you".....I said not really excited about the whole idea......"But why?...Maryam (which is what he calls me when he's so serious about something) we have been planning our whole lives together for as long as I can remember, why is this decision suddenly just mine alone".....Ahmad said now sounding so serious.....

"Yea...I know...Amma ai we still have time to plan all these,I don't want to pick something that will go out of fashion before the wedding"......I said before realizing how lame it sounded...

"Haba Maryam, wani irin out of fashion kuma?...houses hardly go out of fashion,Kowa chooses his style to his own taste...kuma Yumna you are a graduate,I am a graduate too and I have been working for more than three years now....what more are we waiting for?..I think its high time we both settled down...and now is the perfect time....my parents and I discussed and we think six months is the highest we have to wait,so the earlier we start the building the better".....Ahmad said and I couldnt hide my shock and amusement.

"Six months kuma??".....I said sounding surprised......"Aaa,we haven't talked about this and you know it..these are things we have to sit and discuss first, its not only your decision to make".....I said bluntly.....

"I didn't know we need to make this decision again, because I thought we made it a long time ago,Yum this is what we both have always wanted...to be married...you are done with school,I am done with school I'm working what else are we waiting for?"....Ahmad asked sounding so confused....

"Ok,lemme be frank with you...im just getting my career started and I need to get to some certain level of climax before even giving marriage some thoughts ".......I bluffed out feeling relieved that I did.

Ahmad stood there looking at me in shocked not sure what to say..I honestly didnt  want to hurt Ahmad, but the truth just had to come out one way or the other.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT-(Haduwar mu) Episode 7

    ❣Phateemah Taheer❣

Growing up changes a lot of things...Growing up has changed me...I can't believe what I did...Aaa used to be the centre of my universe. I vividly remember the days I used to cry when Abba was against me dating Aaa because he thought it was just a childish crush, but then I thought it wasn't...Now I have no idea what has changed or why things were changing.

"Maryam, look at me and tell me what's going on?are you getting over me?or something".....Ahmad asked with all seriousness.....  "I'm not Aaa,you should know me better...you and I have been together for as long as I can remember".......I said shouting at the top of my voice...

"Well I feel like like I don't even know you anymore Yum"......Ahmad said so sorrowfully...

I moved backwards still looking at him....."this is what I want, and nothing in this world is more important to me right now than this".....I said and turned to enter the house......"Not even me?"....Ahmad said looking at me....

I just couldn't move an inch anymore after he said that...I however knew I had to say something "Aaaa...I....just......"I struggled to say....."Its ok".....Ahmad said with a smile and zoomed off.

The feeling of finally achieving my dreams made me smile all the way in,my conscience however kept telling me I'm hurting the guy who has shown me love more than anything in the world.

"Yumna how did it go?"......Aunty Binta said strolling into my room......"I got it"......I said jumping in her arms......"I love things international,no wasting of time,da ace Yan Nigeria ne da sai an gama murda murda and then they will employ masu connection...Amma wannan sharp sharp".......aunty Binta said and we both started laughing so hard.

"Yumna".....aunty Binta called out with all seriousness and then sat me down on the bed...."Yumna I know you have wanted this for so long and I know its such an achievement, but Yumna nothing is more important for a girl your age than to settle down....Ahmad has been here throughout your teenage years, and he is still here"......Aunty Binta said with so much concern in her eyes.

"I know, but Aunty where is this suddenly coming from?"......I said looking pale for a moment........."Yumna I was in the kitchen and I saw you and Ahmad arguing outside and I overheard you conversation...Yumna he is right....no one is stopping you from doing your dream job, however Ahmad can't wait for you forever,he is getting ready to settle and he wants to do that with you.why not just .......

"Let my dreams go because of Ahmad?".....I said interrupting Anty Binta ......"no he isn't worth that much to me....guys come and go but this is once in a lifetime kind of opportunity".......I bluffed out......."Yumna baki da hankali ne?guys come and go?are you saying you'd rather leave Ahmad than give up on this?".......Anty Binta asked angrily.

I stood up from the bed and went straight to the mirror and stared into it....."Desperate situations require desperate measures"......I said with not an ounce of smile on my face.

"Yumna I don't want you to regret this ".......aunty Binta said.... ."I won't,the sea is full of fishes anty, fatan alkhairi nakeso Kiyi mun " .......I said smiling at her......"Allah ya kyauta"......Aunty Binta and walked out almost ripping the door out of it hinges.

I took out my phone from my purse and sat down to go through the email my employers had sent with a smile on my face.

I finished reading the email and laid down a little...to reminence over the past years....I know in all honesty in my heart that I could swear Ahmad and I belonged to eachother,I know at several points in my life Ahmad would do anything for me and back then I would have done anything for him too but I want this so badly I feel like I can hardly think straight.

I know I'm making the right decision and I know Ahmad would soon realise that and will be even more proud of me than I am of myself.

"Your father needs to have a word with you".....Aunty Binta entered and said and left almost immediately....

I looked at the door as Aunty Binta locked it behind her, wondering why she was so pissed off.

I got to Abba's parlor full of anticipation of what he might say, having no idea if this would be good or bad....."Come in,why are you standing by the door".....Abba said and I smiled.....

"Abba I forwarded my acceptance email to your email".....I said sitting down by his feet.

"I went through every detail Yumna, but you never mentioned anything about going to Air hostess training school for three whole weeks for training, before you eventually start flying.."......Abba said with a frown.

"Yes Abba, its just three weeks, the school is in Addis Ababa and......"...."have you discussed this with Ahmad?".......Abba asked with all seriousness......"Y..es.....ye....s.....I did "......I lied.....

"its ok since you have discussed and he is alright with it"......Abba said with a smile.

"Amma Yumna you should know as your father there are some decisions that are hard for me to make, especially when I'm against something on which you have shown interest, dama dai I had a chat with Ahmad's father and he suggested your wedding to take place in 6months  and I couldnt agree more...I'm letting you be an airhostess not because I want to,but because you want it so much,so I'm letting you have your dream for the next 5months,after which you have to quit and settle down, and I believe its time"......Abba said plainly.

"Abba just 5months??I thought the dream of every career person is to reach the peak of....."Peak of what?".....Abba interrupted....."Yumna I'm letting you do this because you can only do this now as a single lady, but once you get married shikenan.....Yumna you are getting married to Ahmad in 6months and that's it."......Abba added and left the parlor.

I sat there hopeless, not sure what to do....Ahmad used to be the centre of my universe, and now he's the only thing stopping me from reaching the climax in my chosen profession....."What do I do now?".....I thought helplessly to myself.

      *YUMNA'S POV*

Going to the Air hostess training institute was one of the most exciting things that ever happened to me...My parents along with Shay dropped me at the airport.

For some reasons i kept looking, checking and scanning through the people at the departure, hoping to see Aaa somewhere in the crowd. My parents noticed i was scanning through the crowd and decided to leave me to search for whosoever i was looking for...."Yumna are you looking for someone in particular?".....Umma asked with suspicious eyes......"Ahmad i guess, she's looking through the crowd for Ahmad"....Shay said mischievously.

Umma looked at me with a blank expression..."Yumna take care of yourself, always remember ki rike mutuncin ki and always be prayerful, the trust your father and i have in you is what is allowing us let you accept this the job har muka barki kije training institute en".....Umma said ...."Yumna don't make me regret this...i dont like the tension between you and Ahmad, you forced me into accepting him and accepting your relationship and yanzu magana tayi nisa, six months is all I'm giving you to enjoy your dream job kaffin na kaiki dakin ki".....Abba said with so much seriousness.

"In shaa Allah abba.i ll do as you have said i ll don't with my training in three weeks in shaa Allah and cone straight home before my first flight".....I said hugging my parents and watched them leave.

"Six months, you never told me about the six months deal".....Shay said looking at me with eyes full of questions......"Do you seriously think i ll quit my job ,I'm sure Abba is threatening me saboda Aaa"....i said with laughter in my voice.

"Yum please call Ahmad before you leave"....Shay said...."Why on earth would i call him,I don't owe him any explanation,i have said all that there is to say to him ,amma he's stil angry".....I said angrily......"He's not angry,he just feels neglected and avoided. You don't pick his calls or call him back when you see his missed calls or reply his messages, who then is giving attitude "....Shay said rolling her eyes in annoyance.

"Kinga,I'm only avoiding him because i dont him to even think of changing my mind because my mind would never be changed,in yaga dama yazo ruwanshi...it wouldn't make any difference to me since he's decided to be stubborn about this rather than support me".....I said stubbornly....."Yumna are you being fair?"....I asked....

"Being fair to who?".....Ahmad asked out of nowhere...."Hae Ahmad, you  are here...i knew you'd come"....Shay said sounding all too excited....."Hey Yum,I'm so glad i made it here in time,i was scared you'd leave before i get here"......Ahmad said all smiles...."I'm so glad you made it".....Shay said smiling like she won a lottery...."Hy Aaa,i should go,an fara checking in"....i said with a blank expression...."But you can check in and come back ai,in aka fara boarding sai ki tafi".....Aaa said calmly......"Why go through all the stress when she can just check in online, where's your phone?...i ll just check in for you after all you are not checking in any bags and you have your ticket right here with you, just your hand luggage".....Shay said snatching my phone from my hand and immediately started checking in online on my behalf.

"I still really have to go because i need to scan my passport and submit other documents at Ethiopian airlines office since I'm officially a staff yanzu, goodbye Aaaa".....i said giving Shay a hug...."Yea true i almost forgot good bye Yum,call me as soon as you land...I love you".....Shay said hugging me back...."love you Shay"....i said and pulled my box down to the counter.

I could feel Ahmad's gaze on me as i walked over to the counter with my kimono flying from the side revealing the skin tights i wore on the inside. I walked away without even looking back.....I know i have changed,i know things have changed,i know i still love him,but something just keep pulling me away from him and i just can't explain it.

I got settled into my seat, constantly looking to see who the guy sitting next to me was....I dont know why but for some reasons i got curious as to who he was and what he looked like...The basaball cap just kept making me curious....."I know i look cute even while asleep".....the guy said.....I looked at him to actually make sure he was talking to me..."excuse me".....i said still looking at his covered face....

"you have been looking at me for over 2hours now and I can't help but feel your gaze on me and that is actually disrupting my sleep".....he said again still hiding his face behind the cap...

Such attitude,i hate him already..he had better not be in the academy".....i thought to myself...."I'm Mujaheed"....he said lifting his face up and lo and behold i was woowed....that fairness, that nose ,that small cute mouth ,that beard omg....."hello..."....he said weaving a hand at my lost eyes..

"Ohhh".....i said shyly...."ok I don't care who you are".....i said giving him attitude in return...."Attitude,i like this"....He said again...."Can you like just pretend i aint here?"....i said sarcastically....."Why??...i would have had you not been staring at my base ball cap and me feeling  your gaze...Ethiopia is just 3hours away from Nigeria,I'm a heavy sleeper and would have slept through out the flight had you not been making me feel your gaze".....Mujaheed said.

I was totally out of words and had no idea what to say, suddenly i saw a flight attendant coming my way and i took the opportunity...."Excuse me"....i said to her...."Yes please"....she replied nicely and with a smile...."Can i have a change of seat, there seems to be a little nuisance over here"....i said blankly....."Sure maam..you are one of our NRs".....She said...."Yes i am"...i said with a smile...."this way please"....she said leading me to another seat...."What the hell is NR"....i heard Mujaheed murmur.

I sat comfortably on my new seat, away from the handsome yet annoying guy..i tried to read a book titled "MY WEDDING MY TRAGEDY" but kept getting distracted by Mujaheed's over bearing gaze....i made up my mind to stand and go deal with him when i heard the pillot...."Evening passengers, this is CAPTAIN ABDULLAHI ISIYAKU HASSAN we are making our final decend to Addis Ababa international airport, the sky is partly sunny and partly cloudy with a temperature of 30 degrees celsius....we are just a few minutes away from the airport and now flying at 7000miles above sea level,on behalf of the entire cabin crew and my co-pilot SHAMSUDEEN DANTATA i wish you all a very memorable stay in Ethiopia".....the pilot said and the fasten seat belt ? sign was immediately turned on.

I turned back, looked at Mujaheed and made a sigh before resting my head on the seat, tightened my seat belt and closed my eyes.

After the plane finally landed, everyone seemed especially eager to get off the plane✈️ ,i was however very calm and carefully took out my luggage...I picked up my bags and was about to step off the plan when someone stood in front of me...I looked up and saw Mujaheed..."What do you want?".....I asked bluntly......"hey calm down beautiful ,i just want to help"....he said calmly....."Screw off"....i said and left him standing there....."Can i atleast grab your name....number....anything"......he shouted and i walked straight out without looking back.

I walked straight into the arrivals...I looked out for the Ethiopian airlines desk to get information of what to do or where to go to..."This call is for new recruits of the Ethiopian airlines, please make your way to the Ethiopian airlines office....Ethiopian airlines recruits to the office".....the lady in the mic said.

"Hmmm so you are a new recruit...whats what NR means?"....Mujaheed said standing in my way....."Don't you have things to do or somethings else to do? Or someone else to freaking disturb".....i said and made my way to the office without even turning back....
LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT (haduwar mu) Episode 10

           ❣️Phateemah Taheer❣️

Being in a new place comes with this feeling of not belonging or that everyone else is looking at you...I got to the office and was offered a seat with fifteen ladies, all of whom were beautiful if i must admit...I began to think if beauty is a criterion for this kind of job, well i guess it is...."I'm damn beautiful too".....i said to myself adjusting my tarha (head wrap).

A guy in suit walked into the office and never said anything..he simply looked at the woman behind the desk and nodded..."this way please ma'ams"....he said.

Without hesitation we all followed him out of the office,he led us to a long corridor and at the end of the corridor was a door through which we made out and saw the airline bus awaiting us...We all entered the really cozy and luxurious bus and before i could snap out of the dream,we were in front of a tall building that read "Air hostess training institute "....God knows I would have seriously needed someone to pinch me to actually know if this was really happening had it not been for the lady who tapped me on the shoulder...."Let's go"....She said and i realised everyone else was out of the bus except for us.

We entered the building and met several other people,80% of whom were ladies seated in a huge well decorated well designed state of the art fully furnished room..."Welcome everyone...You have just arrived at the training institute, but your journey starts here...and for the next twenty one days you will be subjected to trainings that would enable you thrive in this job....look around you and say hello to your competition, some will hate you, some would love and help you,and so would push you over just so they can be at the top of your game, but importantly you have to know that love is what will unite you all,and as staffs of this airline, you should be united"....the instructor continued endlessly and my legs could hardly bear my weight.

"Are you as tired as i am?"....the lady next to me who talked to me earlier on in the bus said...."I could drop any minute".....i joked and we all laughed..."I'm Amina..but my friends call me Lupsy".....She said with a smile...."I'm maryam, but please call me  Yumna,Yum for short"....i said extending a hand....."you are  Nigerian right?".....She asked...."Yes i am,you?"...i asked....."Half-cast".....she replied with a smile...."oh lord i wish I'm one...belonging to two nations would really be great".....i asked smiling....it does have its perks, pros and cons"....She replied..

"So where are you are from?"....i asked curiously....."My mum is Nigerian"....She said and paused...."really?but you don't look Nigerian"....i exclaimed...."My dad is a Yemenist".....she added....."No wonder...you totally look like a Yemenist but definitely not Nigerian"....i said.

"And funny enough i spent most of my life in Nigeria...i only went to Yemen to see my dad's relatives, explains why i wasn't on the Nigerian flight.daga Yemen na wuto nan".....She replied..

"pick a peer with whom you'd share a room and move to the hostels...you will be attended to much later in the Evening while your training will begin tomorrow, there are registered sim cards awaiting you in your rooms but must be submitted at the end of your training..have a nice evening".....The lady said and Lupsy and i smiled at eachother before moving towards the hostel.

The rooms were really cozy and up to standard...I set my things aside and settled on the bed..I picked up my phone inserted the sim card switched it on and gave my parents a call..

I thought about calling Ahmad afterwards, but changed my mind...i layed my head on the pillow hoping to relief my body of the stress and slept off soon afterwards.

I woke up to the buzz of a new email on my phone..."Hey love, how was your flight?please do give me a call so i ll know you are ok....Yours always and forever...Aaa".....the email read...

I so badly wanted to call Aaa,but something in me stopped me from calling him and i really can't explain that...."Rough evening?".....Lupsy asked...."I'd say yes,but I'm actually the one making it rough for myself"....i said reluctantly...."Boyfriend issues"....Lupsy asked..."more like me issues"....i said sarcastically....."I know right.....

I couldn't sake off the thought of whether or not to call Aaa,most of all I couldn't understand my reason of treating him the way i am.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT (haduwar mu) Episode 11

           ❣️Phateemah Taheer❣️

You never know how much time does fly until you put your mind to do something, irrespective of how long it might take, its always worth the while.

"i have truly missed home,Ethiopia was great, the training institute was fab but nothing compares to being home"....i told my mum on our way home from the airport...."i know i know...dama komai time ne,you left three weeks ago for your training and har kin gama already kin dawo...I'm so glad"....Umma said as i watched the gateman open the gate of our house.

I saw very happy to be home, but my happiness eloped from my face the moment i saw Ahmad's car packed in our drive way...."What's Ahmad doing here?".....i asked Umma nervoulsy...."I don't know but i guess he came with Shaheeda to welcome you home"....Umma said opening and closing the door of the car leaving me alone in the car.

I reluctantly got out of the car and moved slowly towards the entrance when Shay opened the door and ran out of the house, hugging me so tight i could hardly breathe..."I missed you Yum"....Shaheeda said...."i missed you more shay"....i managed to say...."Hy Yum,welcome back"....Aaa said out of nowhere...

"I'm so sorry Aaa,wallahi i dont even know how I'm going to begin to explain myself to you right now...i feel so so".....i said before Ahmad interrupted me...."I'm glad you are back love, please let that go kinji"....he said  so softly i could feel my heart melting...."Lemme get your box from the booth and see what you got me"....Shay said running towards the drive way...

"I'm sorry wallahi i dont know what got over me"....I said seeming so sorry....."Yum,please....not now...I don't want Shay to know what's going on between us,I don't want her to know you didn't call me since you left...I'm here to make it seem less obvious that our relationship is in trouble".....Aaa said calmly..

"You guys don't have to tell me anything...i know wannan mara M din didn't call you and i know you guys have alot of sorting out to do,what I don't know is when i stopped being a best friend to you both that you had to hide this from me..i'm so hurt to say the least".....Shay said angrily....

"Shay wallahi"....i managed to say...."Yumna don't"....Shay shouted..."I know you both want your relationship to be private, but i thought I'm a part of your lives,we grew together for crying out loud, all three of us,why have i become an outsider now?".....Shay said and without waiting to here more, she dashed into the parlor picked up her bag and stormed out of the house.

"i have never seen her this angry before".....i said..."me neither"...Ahmad said..."i think i should go call me later if you feel like it"....Ahmad said and left without even waiting for me to reply.

I dragged myself into my room and kept pacing about..I'm on the verge of loosing my best friend and my boyfriend and i have no idea what to do.I know deep down i have been misbehaving and playing hard to get towards Ahmad just because i feel he is always there and can never leave me,yea i had that security...I wanted to talk about it in front of Shay but Ahmad didn't, and I don't see his fault in this, because honestly he would feel belittled..

I was in the institute for three whole weeks and never called Ahmad, not even a text, and i know so well the training wasn't as time consuming enough to make me have no time for anybody...especially not the guy i am getting married to in a few months.

I have to fix things,i need to fix whatever issues i was having with Ahmad.....

I picked up my phone and called Ahmad..i waited patiently for him to pick but there was no answer...i dropped my things in the place they belonged, took a hot bath and had dinner before finally settling down in my room.

I picked up my phone to see if Ahmad had called me back but to my surprise he didn't...."That's strange, I called Aaa three hours ago and he is yet to call me back kuma nasan today is Saturday no work, what could be wrong?".....i asked myself dialing his number again......

"Hello"....he said softly after he answered the call...."Hy"....i said blankly...."Na kira ka and you didn't pick and you didn't even bother calling me back sai yanzu dana kiraka"....i said angrily...."Yes i was busy ne"....Ahmad said...."Is that even an excuse, you should have sent me a text atleast to let me know you were busy, amma dan wulakanci ka wani share ni i had to call you back".....i shouted....

Ahmad cut the call without saying a word more..."Kut,is this guy ok kuwa?cutting the call on me?"...i said angrily dialing his number again...."Please tell me you did not intentionally hang up on me".....i said impatiently...."To me zance miki?"....Ahmad said gently...."So you mean you intentionally hung up on me?".....i asked angrily...."Yes i did...i had to"....Ahmad said.

"Why would you hang up on me like that, you did something wrong by not calling me back and i told rather than apologize shine kayi hanging up on me??".....i said shouting at the top of my voice....

"Yumna,I'm fed up...I'm tired,i tried and tried and it's not working for us,i guess i have stopped caring anymore...you went to the institute against my wish, even though if it were me who did something against your wish you would have almost killed me...you stayed for three weeks and never called me,i still didn't complain and came to welcome you home, just because i missed you call Kuma shikenan sai ki hauni da fada...kinga,I'm done trying to make things up with you...I'm done being patient and overlooking things...I'm done...Allah ya zaba mana mafi alkhairi".....Ahmad said i almost didnt believe my ears....

"Ahmad its Yumna fah you are talking to"....i said making sure he knew its me..."The message is for you Yumna"....he said..."Ahmad please go to hell and stay there".....i said and hung up.

I stood up from my bed, breathing fast in anger and eww..."I can't believe this,haha...you left with your two feet and you will come back and beg and wallahi sai na wahalar dakai i promise you".....i said to my self.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT (haduwar mu) Episode 12

          ❣️Phateemah Taheer❣️

           *SHAHEEDA's POV*

I got very angry, not only because of what Ahmad and Yumna hid from me but because of the way Yumna keeps treating Ahmad..I love Yumna and i love Ahmad too...They have been my best friends since we were teenagers, way before Yumna and Ahmad ever started dating...We shared almost everything with eachother,we have made sacrifices for eachother, for this to be happening to us now i really feel hurt.

I have no idea why Yumna treats Ahmad the way she does, and as her best friend i expected her to atleast explain things to me.Yumna loved Ahmad long before Ahmad ever started loving her,i made their relationship possible,i fixed what they have now,but sadly now i am the outsider, the stranger, the one they keep things from...

I remember clearly during our secondary school prom,Ahmad was in level two then and were in Ss3,Ahmad asked me if he could go to prom with me,knowing how Yumna felt about him, i told him to rather ask Yumna to which she clearly agreed because she was secretly crushing on him all that while, but we were still best of friends,we told eachother everything.

I got to know Ahmad through my mum,his mum happened to be my mum's best friend and as at then we also happened to be neighbors...Ahmad and i became close when he started teaching me Mathematics when i was in ss1,and then he was in ss3,same school with Yumna and i....

Yumna would come over everyday after school even though we lived a few streets away from eachother, but she would still come so Ahmad would coach us in Maths,it was our weak subject and it was his strongest. After Secondary's school, the bond was still there...i started noticing the changes in Yumna's behavior towards Ahmad,She became shy eachtime he came around...she would talk about him all the time and as at then we were in level 1 and Ahmad was in level 3...

I knew Ahmad liked Yumna and i also knew Yumna was falling for Ahmad, and i got Yumna to confess in a play of truth or dare game....Ahmad being the extremely shy guy that he is started acknowledging her love and reciprocated it,and that was the beginning of the journey that led to love, engagement and marriage in a few months.

I don't feel hurt because they tried to have a bit of privacy, but for Ahmad to not want to involve me because I am somewhat like a stranger, that hurts so much.

My ringing phone was what cut me off my thoughts....."Ahmad I'm not in the mood please"....I said immediately i answered the call...."Shay its not what you think,please".....Ahmad said...."What is it then?".....i said angrily....."Shay,i would never hurt you intentionally,i was just tired of dragging you in our messy relationship,i tell you almost everything, but this time around i decided to not tell you because i wanted us to fix our issues ourselves,i wanted things to work out on there own...Yumna and i might be getting married in a few months and we need to learn how to settle our differences between ourselves if we really want out marriage to work"....Ahmad said and i felt sorry for him.

"I wish i could,i wish i could talk sense into Yumna or atleast find out what is going on,but she wouldn't even talk to me or tell me whats wrong or what she is even thinking".....i said....

"i know shay,i do,amma wallahi ni i am over it already...I'm done trying to make things right between us...i have decided to end this relationship until Yumna decides otherwise...if she wants it to work out then i expect her to put same effort as me,otherwise Allah ya zaba mana mafi alkhairi".....Ahmad said.

"No Aaa you can't do this, things have gone fat between you two".....i said..."i have already,i told Yumna I'm done trying and she said i should go to hell and stay there"....Ahmad said angrily...

"She did?"....i asked sounding surprised...."Wallahi she did...I have been thinking about this for a long time now and i think that's whats best for us,Shay kona auri Yumna she ll never respect me as a husband, she always wants to be d head, the boss and marriages doesn't work that way"...Ahmad said

"Koma menene i know you guys will go through this, just be patient...i am sure she ll come back to you after she realises her mistake......"thats the old Yumna Shay, the Yumna who knows and admits when she's right, not this new Yumna who wants things to be done her way...Shay,please just promise me one thing".....Ahmad said.

"Anything for you Ahmad".....i said full of pity for him...."don't tell Yumna i told you anything, and don't make her apologize to me...leave her alone, allow her to figure things out herself..i want her to willingly realise her mistakes and do what she feels is right for her"....Ahmad said.

"definitely, i also want her to realise this on her own, i pray you guys work this out"....I said calmly...."thanks so much Shay, you have always been there and i really appreciate it,you the best best friend ever...i love you".....Ahmad said...."I love you too best friend and i pray things fall into place real fast"...I said and hung up.

"Yumna needs to realize her mistake and move pass this childishness of hers"....i said to myself.

As the saying goes "you can't eat your cake as have it"...and that's exactly what I'm wishing for right now, eating my cake and having it....no one can deny the fact that.."You don't know what you have until you lose it"....but for me i knew what i had,i just never thought I'd lose it, and i guess now i have....

I have been angry for several days,so angry at Ahmad, but the more i think about it,the more i realise that its actually not his fault that this happened but mine,I expected too much,i never thought Ahmad would be able to stand up for himself, i admit i mistook his patience for weakness and that made me treat him less than he deserved to be treated.

I made over 500 IEDs used for suicide missions by Boko Haram–Teenager
User Avatar Forum: Conflicts

A 15 year-old former Boko Haram bomb maker has made a chilling confession about how he made over 500 underwear Improvised Explosive Devices(IEDs) used by insurgents for suicide missions on soft targets in the last five years.

Ali Goni was only ten years old and in primary six when he was kidnapped in Bama.

The military authorities described the teenager as the most deadly Boko Haram member, who had mastered various techniques that can cause maximum destruction of lives.

Army intelligence sources told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) that the suspect is the most innovative bomb maker to emerge in recent years. The military did not allow NAN to photograph him because of his age.

Goni, who is undergoing rehabilitation at a military detention camp in Maiduguri, told NAN recently that he assembled IEDs with fragmented materials and configure them for suicide missions.

He said he introduced the use of padlock to IEDs strapped on bombers that can hardly be demobilised or detected by bomb detectors.

“I was kidnapped along with my mother in Bama’s Kawuri Street by Baba Kaka, a dreaded Boko Haram commander. They took us to Sambisa and kept us in a camp called “Kwalfata”.

“We underwent various training in the camp. During the course of our induction training, I was selected to be trained on bomb making technique, bomb detection as well as identifying and demobilising explosives.

“I refused initially, but they said they would kill my mother just like the way they killed my father when they stormed Bama. So I eventually agreed. During the training, many of my colleagues died while trying to make bombs. At the end I emerged the best among all.

“My job was to make many bombs that would be used for suicide missions. I was working under the supervision of Baba Musa, a 70 year-old. Musa also thought me the new technique of making underwear IED with padlock.

“At some point, I was the only bomb maker when all those I was trained with were killed by the military during several attacks. So they took me from camp to camps to make IEDs for suicide missions.

“I was in Kangarwa, Pulka, Banki and other camps. I managed to escape when the military bombed our camp in Baga. I ran to Cameroon where I surrendered to the Cameroonian forces. I was later handed over to the Nigeria military.

Goni hoped to be a soldier in the future to help the military in identifying IEDs.

Nigeria Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has urged all government structures to put away all political differences and to make the security and welfare of Nigerians a top priority.

The Senate president decried the incessant bloodshed in the country. He emphasized that it is never pleasant to lose even one Nigerian life.

“The security and welfare of the people is primary purpose of government. This is what the Constitution we all swore to uphold says. At no time whether in the past or in the present is it okay to lose even one Nigerian life,” Saraki tweeted

“We MUST all put aside our political, personal, and ideological differences and work together to stop the bloodshed.”

Saraki had earlier condemned the incessant killing of citizens in different parts of the country, especially the recent wanton destruction of lives in Plateau State.

It would be recalled that the Police Command in Plateau on June 24, 2018 confirmed the killing of 86 people in attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state.

He pledged to ensure peace nationwide by equipping law enforcement agents to effectively tackle the prevailing insecurity in the country.

Abacha loot: Fashola reveals how much Buhari approves for rehabilitation of roads

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the disbursement of funds recovered from looters under the 2018 federal budget.
He made the announcement at the Herbert Macaulay Memorial Lecture organised by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, yesterday.

The Minister also disclosed that the President had approved N120 billion from the funds for the rehabilitation of 36 roads across the country. He said that the past administration shared the money that was meant for infrastructural development.

Chiding the past administration which he was also part of, Fashola said, “While other oil producing countries were busy building their nations at a time oil prices were high, the past administration in Nigeria started a different form of development, known as infrastructure of the stomach.”

“We should never forget this. We decided to share the money rather than invest the money just to win elections. The money that should have been used to fund the Abakaliki rice was used to import rice.

“This is the opportunity that President Buhari has come to recover through the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan. So, when the President is talking of change, he is talking of a time when we will invest in real infrastructural development and not stomach infrastructure.

“Unlike before, President Buhari has made a choice and that choice has led to massive development across the country.”

Presidency Blames Power Contest, Anti-graft War For Killings

Presidency blames power contest, anti-graft war for killings

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, has said the fierce competition for power and President Muhammadu Buhari’s unrelenting war on corruption are responsible for an upsurge of violent conflicts across Nigeria.

Shehu said this while speaking to reporters at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, in Abuja, on Monday.

He explained that competition for power had become fiercer and the stakes had become very high hence the upsurge in cases of violent attacks.

The presidential aide noted that many people, especially the rich and the powerful, had thought the war against graft was a joke until the President with the support of a reformed judiciary, showed no sign of backing down.

Shehu said, “The problem is that the competition for power in the country has become fiercer and fiercer because the stake is very high. I will give you one example. The President has unleashed on the country the war against corruption, the type that had never been seen before. Assets are being recovered from powerful people.

“The President is lucky. He has a judiciary which is transforming itself, which is on the same page with the President in fighting corruption. As I speak to you now, you know that two former state governors are in jail.

“A lot of people thought this war against corruption is a joke, and that the back and forth that has characterized this over time will continue. One of the two cases we are talking about is determined after eleven years of back and forth with lawyers and judges, kicking the ball from this hut to that hut.

“Now, they have descended on the country. A new era and a new aura that is ensuring the conclusion of these cases – a lot of these hash attacks against the President, are coming from people who had become used to lifestyle they can no longer sustain.”

Any PDP Candidate Can Defeat Buhari — Turaki

Quote:A former Minister of Special Duties and presidential aspirant on the platform of PDP, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has said any of the aspirants seeking the party’s ticket is strong enough to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari if given the ticket.

Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) stated this yesterday in Abuja when he visited the ‎PDP national secretariat to notify the National Working Committee (NWC) of his intention to run on the party’s platform.
The ex-minister said Nigeria had never been divided like now, adding that citizens were hood-winked into “entering one-chance ‎vehicle in 2015.”

According to him, “All our presidential aspirants are eminently qualified to be president of this country and each of us can perform far better than what Buhari is doing now,” he said.

Turaki said his ambition was not a do-or-die affair, adding that even if he did not get the ticket, he would support whoever emerged as the party’s candidate.

2019: Plot To Stop Buhari In Court Uncovered - The Nation
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-03-2018, 05:47 PM - No Replies

Quote:Posted By: Yusuf Alli,

A plot to stop President Muhammadu Buhari from seeking re-election on account of age and other excuses has been uncovered, The Nation learnt yesterday.

Some senior lawyers have been engaged “to embarrass the President” ahead of next year’s election, a source in the Presidency said, pleading not to be named because he is not allowed to talk on the matter.

The Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) plan to file many cases to compel Buhari to step aside, having attained more than 70 years age limit for certain public offices.

The plot is said to have the support of some leaders of opposition groups and “those hell-bent on halting Buhari’s presidential ambition”.

A source said: “The lawyers include Senior Advocates who are now raising funds from some prominent Nigerians, who have openly expressed their opposition to President Buhari’s second term ambition.

“While the position of the Constitution does not disqualify anyone on the basis of age as the senior lawyers are planning, the whole point of the case is to embarrass the president as the election draw near.

“Funds are being raised from some opposition groups’ leaders and individuals to go to court and argue that the President ought to be disqualified on age basis.”

The plan, a source said, is to argue that because certain public officers, including judges, have to retire at age 70, no one above that age should be allowed to contest.

But while some lawyers are ready for the brief, others have opposed the plot.

The source added: “Already, some of those approached are read to support the cases financially and now the lead senior lawyers are mobilising several other lawyers to file series of legal suits and cases to argue on why the President should be disqualified from running.”

“But there are also a number of some of those approached who are concerned that the plot by a few of the senior lawyers is not likely to be effective and might only be a ploy by the senior lawyers to raise money for themselves.”

A source in government said: “We have unearthed a big plot to initiate frivolous suits to frustrate the President from realizing his second term ambition.

“We are also monitoring those behind this plot, which borders on ‘ambition’ to make money. They have made some of those opposed to the President to believe that Buhari can be stopped in court.

“But let them go and read sections 130, 131, and 137 of the 1999 Constitution very well. They cannot disqualify Buhari on account of age. They want the court to interpret some parts of the constitution and apply it to Buhari.”

Sections 130 and 131 read: “There shall be for the Federation a President. The President shall be the Head of State, the Chief Executive of the Federation and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federation.

“A person shall be qualified for election to the office of President if; he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; he has attained the age of 40 years; he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party and he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.”
Section 137 (1), among others, says: “A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of the President if-

(a) subject to the provisions of Section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, he has made acceleration of allegiance to such other country; or

(b) he has been elected to such office at any two previous elections; or

© under the law in any part of Nigeria, he is adjudged to be a lunatic or otherwise declared to be of unsound mind.

(d) he is under a sentence of death imposed by any competent court of law or tribunal in Nigeria or a sentence of imprisonment or fine for any offence involving dishonesty or fraud(by whatever name called) or for any other offence, imposed on him by any court or tribunal or substituted by a competent authority for any other sentence imposed on him by such a court or tribunal

(e) within a period of less than 10 years before the date of election to the office of President, he has been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty or he has been found guilty of the contravention of the Code of Conduct …
… (I) he has presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

Nigerian singers Kizz Daniel and Chidinma who confirmed their relationship in April have sparked breakup rumours after they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

It was gathered that Kizz Daniel is not one of the 900 people Chidinma is following on Instagram and she is also not among the 27 people he is following on Instagram.

Fans are speculating that the report by Concise News which the “Love Me” singer talked about leaving a lover who can’t kiss her in the morning before she brushes her teeth, may be hinting at a loop in their relationship.

However, the pair have not confirmed the breakup officially, many fans are of the opinion that their young relationship have hit the rock.

She caught everyone by surprise when she announced that she has not engaged in any sexual activity since her marriage ended as a result of her relationship with God.

Tonto has however not stopped dropping hints that she is ready to mingle, especially since she now has a gorgeous and enhanced body to show off to any man.

Earlier today while the weather blazed, the actress posted that she desperately needed a cuddle! This is so understandable considering the fact that winter came early in Nigeria.

Her fans have told her to cuddle with Jesus…

Blac Chyna has new teenage boyfriend!

Blac Chyna is reportedly dating a teenage boxer
[Image: chyna-boyfriend-750x458.jpg]
Instagram @blacchyna

The 30-year-old model only split from YBN Almighty Jay a few months ago but she’s already moved on to someone new as she’s said to be getting close to Devin Haney, 19, for a “while” now after he reached out to her on Instagram.

A source told TMZ.com: “He first hooked up with Chyna two to three months ago, hitting her up on Instagram after learning they had the same lawyer.”

YBN announced that he had split from Chyna on his Instagram Stories

In the post – which has since been deleted – he wrote: “@blacchyna and I are no longer together (sic)”

But he also shared a YouTube video clip of Juice WRLD’s song Lucid Dreams (Forget Me), and posted a broken hearted emoji over the Insta Story.

In the short clip, rapper Juice can be heard singing: “I still see your shadows in my room;

“Can’t take back the love that I gave you;

“It’s to the point where I love and I hate you;

“And I cannot change you so I must replace you.”

It’s believed Chyna pulled the plug on their relationship after she found out that the rapper had been direct messaging other women on Instagram and was also annoyed that he’d been hanging out with groups of females after his performances

The Rob & Chyna star – who has 19-month-old daughter Dream with ex-fiance Rob Kardashian, and five-year-old son King Cairo with former boyfriend Tyga – is said to be convinced YBN has got someone else pregnant, though there is no confirmation.

Their split came less than week after Chyna appeared to have been inked with a ‘Jay’ tattoo on her arm.

The pair hooked up in February, and YBN wasted no time in publicly declaring his love for the star – whose real name is Angela Renée White – as by April he popped the question to her via social media.

Alongside a photograph of Chyna wearing a white jumper dress and trainers while perched against a bumper in a car park, he wrote on Instagram: “Will You Marry Me? (sic)”

NBA superstar Ben Simmons has flown back to his home city of Melbourne after his newborn niece was been diagnosed with a rare brain condition.

Olivia Simmons, Ben's sister, shared a touching picture of him cradling her daughter, Savannah after she was diagnosed with a deadly brain condition called Vein of Galen Malformation.

Ben travelled back to Melbourne alone as rumours swirl around his alleged romance with Kendall Jenner

Melbourne-born NBA superstar Ben (pictured left, with his sister Olivia, right) has flown back home to see his sick niece

In May it was reported that the pair were dating after sources revealed Kendall had been staying with Ben in LA.

While the couple remain tight-lipped regarding their relationship status they've been seen sharing a kiss at a petrol station and are reportedly looking to rent a bigger place together.

After touching down in Melbourne this week, Ben visited Olivia and Savvy at the hospital.

Olivia had hinted that something was wrong in a series of cryptic messages after the birth. She eventually told her followers that the moment Savvy was born doctors knew there was an issue.

'On June 19 at 7.27pm I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Savannah Alice Simmons. Was a nine minute delivery and things went really well.

'We immediately realised there was something wrong and to cut a long story short Savvy was diagnosed with Vein of Galen Malformation, a very rare, sometimes undetectable (before birth) brain condition.

After a series of cryptic messages where she hinted something was wrong Olivia finally told her followers her daughter had a rare brain disease

'Savvy is a beautiful smaller version of me, always hungry and is satisfied after a feed. Very happy baby with a small struggle (at the) start of a long happy life.'

Olivia said her daughter's diagnosis had been a blow but that she was choosing to  stay strong.

'This journey has been so up and down but thank you so much for all your prayers. Good days and bad it will all be worth it when savvy is completely happy and healthy.'

Including Ben, Olivia has six siblings, who all flew from different corners of the globe to be with her during this difficult time.

'Times like this family is so important. Having all my siblings coming back from across the globe shows just how much they have mine and savvy’s back. I love yall so much,' she tweeted.

[Image: 4DD48B0900000578-5907615-image-m-8_1530493835292.jpg]

Ben retweeted this picture of Olivia holding Savvy's hand with the hashtag #savvystrong

The hashtag #savvystrong has been used by people from Australia and the United States wanting to support Olivia and her daughter.

Savvy's superstar uncle has been no expectation, re-tweeting a heartwarming picture of her.

But it hasn't been all supportive. Olivia tweeted that she had been bombarded with people questioning what she did during pregnancy and why she was sharing it online.

'Stay the f**k out my inbox, DMs, WhatsApp, emails. Y’all got no idea wtf I'm going through. I was 100% healthy and so was my daughter.

The hashtag #savvystrong has been used by people from Australia and America wanting to support Olivia (pictured) and her daughter

'Who would’ve seen something that's so fucking rare no doctor in this city has seen it. F**k all the way off with your negativity.'

When Ben won NBA rookie of the year on June 26, Olivia had to be by her daughter's side.

She tweeted after he won that it had not only been a good day for her brother, but for Savvy also.

'What an amazingly positive day, Savannah's stats are up, Ben won rookie of the year and my mind is in a really good place,' she tweeted.

The Box Hill hero made history last week when he was named the best first year player in the NBA.

She gave birth to her third child Chicago West via surrogate in January this year. And while Kim Kardashian opted not to give her other two children North, five, and Saint, two, middle names, she seems to have changed her mind for her newest addition.
Taking to social media on Monday, the 37-year-old shared a sweet selfie with the five-month-old and revealed her middle name was Noel – the same as hers.
'Chi Noel,’ captioned Kim, punctuating the names with love heart emojis. The photo saw the tot pull a face and pout for the camera.

Kim appeared makeup free and wore a tracksuit in the background.

Using a filter, there were love hearts added all around Chi in the photo.

And it appears as though the newborn has a special place in Kim’s heart, giving her the same middle name as her own.

Michelle Obama Is Rocking Natural Hair and the Internet Is Going Crazy

Michelle Obama might not be the current First Lady, but she's still not far from the minds of a lot of people on the Internet.

Despite not being in the White House any longer, the Obamas are still in the hearts of many Americans.

And it’s not too hard to understand why.

Even if you didn't always agree with their politics, the Obamas embodied class.

And to this day are still socially active and use their notoriety for good causes, like relief for Hurricane Harvey.

And even when the Obamas weren't busy supporting good causes, they still found ways to win the hearts of the Internet.

Like this unforgettable moment at the Inauguration when Michelle hilariously spiked the camera lens in a move straight out of The Office.

And who can forget the time Michelle channeled Beyonce?

Any First Lady that likes Beyonce is our First Lady, for sure.

Michelle's fashion has been a pretty big source of inspiration for young women. Specifically, her gorgeous hairstyles.

The double-degreed lawyer and former First Lady is certainly much more than her hair, but with the natural look making a comeback for many African-American women, people were pining for her to put away the flat iron and let her natural hair shine.

And it looks like she did just that…

When Twitter user @meagnacarta shared a photo of Obama with natural hair under a headband, Twitter got super excited.

Still beautiful!

Twitter was so satisfied.

And it’s hard to blame them.

People waited over 8 years to see this!

Heck, even longer than that now.

And now that the former FLOTUS is mostly free from the public eye, she's free to let her inner goddess shine.

She looks amazing with her hair natural and straight!

I’m not jealous, you’re jealous.

But if there is one thing Twitter is good for, it's quality reaction GIFs.

Ah yes. There it is.

But, of course, there are always the negative comments…

This kind of came out of nowhere.

I can say that I do NOT ever want to b like her. She lost law license for corruption then went on to fraud taxpayers. #susanrice
— DeplorablePatriot (@DonnaL12) April 3, 2017

Deplorable is right. Luckily Twitter handled this swiftly and hilariously.

"We're talking about hair here, Donna."

Leave it to Donna to turn a conversation about hair into judgments of character.

Still, aside from Donna, the reaction was amazing.

Obama’s hair stylist Johnny Wright did a 2015 interview with The Root in which he told them that she's been wearing her hair natural for the last few years

All he does is straighten it with a flat iron.

Right now, on vacation, she's doing one better and letting her waves be free, sans iron this time.

Live it up, Michelle. We love it.

Former big brother Naija housemates, Nina and Alex seem not to have gotten over their grudge against each other since leaving the big brother house.

Alex posted a stunning photo of herself last night with Henna on her hands, and a follower commented saying she copied Nina who got a henna about one week ago.

Well Alex didn't find it funny, hence she blasted the follower.
