User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

A Councillor from Gwale local government area of Kano State, Hon Abdulwahab A Abdul Shi, has died in a fatal accident on his way to the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention currently holding today in Abuja. The Councillor was said to have died along with two of his aides who were traveling with him as their vehicle caught fire in the course of the accident.

May their souls rest in peace.

The National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to elect a new set of leaders is holding at Eagle Square Abuja today.

A former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, is already guaranteed a chance to emerge as the next national chairman of the party after all contenders to the office stepped down for him.

However, other key offices such as those of the National Secretary, Deputy National Chairmen, National Publicity Secretary and others are to be keenly contested for by several APC members.

PDP Sends Delegates To DSS Over Arrest Of Senator Abaribe, Suswam

Posted by: Edoman - 06-23-2018, 02:21 PM - No Replies

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has sent a delegation to the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawan Daura, over the arrest of the senator representing Abia South, Enyinnaya Abaribe.

It was gathered that the delegates comprised top leaders of the party and some state governors.

Secondus, who confirmed the meeting of the delegates with DG of the DSS, however, refused to give details of those in the delegation and issues slated for discussion.

He told Punch, “We have sent a delegation comprising our governors to the DG of DSS over the spate of arrests of our members.

“Yesterday, they picked up a former Governor of Benue State, Mr. Gabriel Suswam, and today, they arrested Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe. We can’t reach them and even their loyalists can’t reach them.

“Now, the clampdown has indeed started. But how many of our members are they going to arrest, just because they (the government and the ruling party) are afraid of losing the (2019 presidential) election?

“Maybe they will arrest all of us and put us into jail. Nigerians are watching and the international community is also watching.”

Meanwhile, DSS is yet to release a statement on why Senator Abaribe was arrested yesterday.

DAILY POST reports that Abaribe was arrested in Abuja on Friday at a popular hotel located at Maitama District.

APC Convention: Why Nigerian Govt Endorsed Oshiomhole As Party Chairman – SGF, M
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 06-23-2018, 02:20 PM - No Replies

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, yesterday gave reasons the Federal Government was solidly behind Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the next national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said Oshiomhole was the man the party needed to lead it to victory in the 2019 general elections.

DAILY POST reports that Oshiomhole is unopposed in the bid to take over from Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as chairman of the ruling party

However, Mustapha pointed out that Oshiomhole became the chosen one due to his track record.

He further explained that the nature of the electioneering for 2019 will be slightly different from that of 2015 as APC will be showing its scorecards to the electorate as against making promises that was the case in 2015.

He told journalists yesterday in Abuja: “With skills and experience as a former labour leader and former governor of a tough state, Oshiomhole was well-positioned to provide the leadership that APC requires at the moment. I believe he has got all it takes to lead our party in the future.

“So, I have come to encourage him because I believe we need somebody like him at the moment to give the purposeful leadership that we require,” Mustapha said.

“I believe Comrade (Oshiomhole) has got the tenacity, the intellectual ability and the organisational skills having been a labour leader and served as a governor for eight years in a very difficult state like Edo. He will be able to take us and usher us to a brighter 2019,” the SGF added.

“We are a democratic party. Nobody is going to be gagged. Nobody is going to be stopped from contesting any office. But you know as part of the election processes, there are negotiations and there are agreements and there are consensus building mechanisms that have been put in place.

“The beauty about the APC is that we came from different legacy parties but we deployed all the available skills and resources that we had to craft our constitution to also craft the manifesto and even the election manifesto.

“Comrade (Oshiomhole) was a very fundamental part of it. So he understands the working of the party because he participated in the crafting of these instruments that we are using. The truth about it is that in every party and in every system, the supremacy of the party is always non-negotiable because that is the platform that produces everybody.”

2019: Remain In Abuja, You’ll Be Stoned – Okorocha Warns Udenwa
User Avatar Forum: Politics

NAIRATREND

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has told former governor of the state, Chief Achike Udenwa to remain in Abuja because Imo people will stone him if he enters the state.

The governor said Udenwa was a failure who achieved nothing after eight years as governor of the state.

Okorocha was reacting to an interview where Udenwa described Okorocha as a colossal failure whose projects in the state were usually cosmetic and often collapsed before completion.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said Udenwa was a broke politician seeking attention.

He said, “Udenwa ruled Imo State for eight good years; let him come and show Imo people what he did for them those years. It is not enough to criticise; the facts are there.

“In the case of Okorocha, he has been in office for barely seven years and has over 1000 projects and still counting. Anybody who comes to Imo will see that he has changed the face of the state.

“Okorocha is a grassroots man and Imo people like him because they know he has their interests at heart. Most of his investments even before he became the governor are in Imo State.

“If you come to Imo State and criticise Okorocha, the masses will stone you. It is only the elite in Imo State that are not happy with him and we all know why. Udenwa who is talking, live in Abuja and does not even know what is happening in Imo State.

“If he comes to Imo State, he cannot criticise Okorocha because the people will come after him.

“You could not have governed Imo for eight years with nothing to show and you are criticising Okorocha whose projects have transformed the state and even a blind man can see them.”

Sister: 'Mamuzee Twins Killed Our Mother
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 06-23-2018, 12:13 PM - No Replies

During the week, the singing duo Mamuzee Twins were called out on social media by Daddy Showkey who accused them of neglecting their mother for 17 years until she died at the Igando General Hospital, Lagos, a few days ago.

While the singers decided to keep mum till their mother is buried, the last child of the family, Augusta, who was present during the old woman’s final hour, told Saturday Beats that their mother’s death was caused by the singing twins.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, Augusta noted that the twins had abandoned their mother for about 17 years. She added that the last time their mother saw them, they laid a curse on her.

She said,

“About six years ago, our mother was so unhappy with the fact that she had not seen her sons for a very long time, so she took two pastors and went to their house and according to the pastors that went with her, immediately they saw our mother, they went inside the room and came out with a bible. Then they stood on the Bible and placed a curse on our mother. They said that if she had come with any evil intention, she would die in a week. The pastors said that our mother could not cry; she just began to sweat. When they got back to my house, my mother could not say a word. That was the final straw that broke the camel’s back because after that day, we began to visit several hospitals over her health. Although I never tried to reach out to Mamuzee because I was very upset with them, some of my other siblings reached out to them but couldn’t get through them. About two months ago, I noticed that our mother could neither eat nor drink anything. I got a nurse to treat her and we were told that she had malaria. When her health was getting worse, I rushed her to Igando General Hospital and to my surprise, I got Daddy Showkey’s call. He was our childhood friend even though he is older than Tony and Andrew. We all loved him. When I picked his call, the next question he asked was about our mother. By that time our mother was in a coma, Daddy Showkey asked me to do a video call when I was with my mother so that he could see for himself and I did as he instructed.

“My father-in-law advised me to take a picture of my mother in her comatose state and send it to all my siblings via Whatsapp. Every one of them responded, even the two that are abroad except Mamuzee. It was obvious that they saw it but they did not respond. All my mother’s children living in Nigeria rushed to the hospital to see her except Tony and Andrew and the two that are abroad kept calling constantly.”

She told Saturday Beats that their mother begged God to have twins for ten years before her request was granted, sadly the twins she asked for did not treat her well. Augusta stated that their mother died of heartbreak, no thanks to Mamuzee.

“While she was alive and ill, she was always calling Mamuzee. There was a time I had to go to Bayelsa to get some of her things. There was a box where she kept her documents, I stumbled on her Bible and prayer books and the only thing she asked from God was for her twins to return to her. Our mother died of heartbreak and depression. The amazing thing is that our mother never laid a curse on them. Our mother gave birth to ten children and we all have children of our own. If our mother was a witch, she could have killed us or her grandchildren but we are all healthy and doing very fine in life. We do not know where the story that they do not have children emanated from because they both have kids. Tony and Andrew killed our mother. It is Mary and Martha that are doing this to them. All is not well, I saw what they posted on Instagram about our mother’s death. They do not even have her recent picture except the one I sent when our mother was in a coma. The picture that they are posting online is the one my mother took after we just returned from Ghana in 1985. We started our lives in Ghana before our mother brought us back to Nigeria and singlehandedly raised us. Now they are calling this same woman a witch. Tony and Andrew cannot be forgiven. I did not comment because I do not want to have anything to do with them. Tony and Andrew killed my mother and they would not find peace. My mother’s spirit would take vengeance. I give God the glory that my mother held her peace till the very end. My mother prayed for ten years to have twins and when she finally had Tony and Andrew, it was as if they were her only children. My siblings were angry that our mother really loved them but now that we are grown up, we understand. They would not go unpunished,” she said.

‎Atiku who visited the party's headquarters to inform its leadership of his intention to run for presidency on its platform however, said whether or not he emerged as candidate, he would continue to fulfill his obligations to the party.

"Whether I am the candidate or not, I assure you that you can always count on me. We will continue to work together to ensure that we return this party to power, “he said.

Emmanuel Kazeem Jailed For Biggest Tax Fraud In USA (photo)
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

Quote:[Image: KAZEEM.jpg]

A Nigerian – Emmanuel Kazeem – who masterminded a plot to obtain millions in refunds from the United States Internal Revenue Service has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in Oregon.

Kazeem, 35, of Bowie, Maryland, was sentenced in Eugene, on Thursday for a “vast conspiracy” of identity theft and tax fraud.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the convict bought personal information (including social security numbers and dates of birth) and used same to fraudulently file thousands of tax returns on behalf of unwitting victims.

“Emmanuel Kazeem orchestrated one of the largest tax fraud schemes in our nation’s history. The complexity of this case and the incredible effort by law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice cannot be understated,” Billy J. Williams, U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, said.

Kazeem purchased more than 91,000 stolen identities from a Vietnamese hacker—who pried that information from an Oregon background check company’s private database.

Between 2012 and 2015, Kazeem and his co-conspirators filed over 10,000 fraudulent tax returns in an attempt to get over $91 million in refunds.

Not all of the fake returns were successful—but out of a possible $91 million, Kazeem and his crew still managed to receive more than $11.6 million in refunds.

The lid over Kazeem’s fraudulent activities was blown open in 2013 after a Medford resident noticed that someone had filed false tax returns on behalf of her and her husband.

She alerted the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) which swung into action and was able to track down Kazeem

I Will Restore Lg's Lost Glory When I Emerge Ogun Governor - Adebutu
User Avatar Forum: Politics

..Promises accessible and affordable education
...Donates 3 500KVA Transformers to Ijebu Communities

The train of frontline Ogun State 2019 PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Hon (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu, stopped at Ijebu Ode Local Government on June 17, 2018 for a meeting with party faithfuls.

Party members across the LG turned out to express their loyalty and readiness to join hands with Hon Adebutu to move Ogun State forward come 2019.

The meeting had in attendance Ijebu political gladiators, aspirants for various elective posts, administrators and strategists of national repute. They all in turn spoke and expressed their readiness to work with Hon Ladi to liberate Ogun people from the shackles of poverty and backwardness of APC government.

In his remarks, Adebutu, stated his resolve to take the gateway state beyond the summit. He lamented the state of affairs in the local government administration of the state describing it as very sad and unfortunate. He attributed the ugly situation in the LGs to the visionlessness and irresponsibility of the APC led government.

He wondered how rural development would be achieved and life comfortable for the generality of the Ogun people when the third tier of government had collapsed. He, however, assured the party faithfuls of his resolution to return the effective functionality of LGs in 2019.

The federal lawmaker used the occasion to express his unalloyed solidarity with the continous existence of Tai Solarin University of Education saying "it has come to stay." Hon Ladi painted the attempt by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, to scrap the university in 2012 as not only retrogressive but wicked and shameful.

While commending the former Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, for establishing the first University of Education in Nigeria, Adebutu told over two thousand Ogun state tertiary institutions students who came to identify with him that he was willing to make education accessible and affordable to the least poor. He admonished them to obtain PVCs as that would enable them to secure a better life for themselves.

As part of the programs for the familiarisation tour to Ijebu Ode LG, Hon Adebutu donated 3 500KVA transformers to Isiwo, Ilupeju and Sabo/Molode communities. The aforementioned areas had experienced darkness over a long period of time. But with this development, the Oloritun of Sabo/Molode, Alhaji Kayode Saibu, said "the transformer replacement is a big relief for the beneficiaries as life. becomes more comfortable." Unable to hide his admiration for the donor, Saibu described Hon Ladi as "a politician of unmatched sense of empathy and belonging."

Quote:Will APC Survive Its Self-induced Hurricane Today?, By Dele Momodu

Fellow Nigerians, please, allow me to put it the way the late cerebral politician and legal luminary, Chief Bola Ige – former Governor of Oyo State in the Second Republic, former Minister for Power and Steel and later, Attorney-General and Minister Justice under President Olusegun Obasanjo – also known as the Cicero of Esa Oke, would have described it: “today may be a day of the long knives within the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC”. The problem will not be with filling the various positions which exist on the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling Party, but with the way and manner in which those positions will be filled, especially those factions of the Party that will benefit and those who will not.

The position is that barring any unforetold and unforeseen earthquake of monumental proportions, which is very remote indeed, my former Governor from Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, will be crowned as the new National Chairman of APC. His coronation has become a procession and is now going to be no more than a mere formality because there is not a single challenger that can withstand the blistering and overwhelming support my dear Brother commands within the rank and file of his party, and his erstwhile challengers, the last being former Governor of Cross River State in the Third Republic, Clement Ebri, have now come to that realisation and thrown in the towel. I take this opportunity to congratulate Comrade Adams selection on his unopposed and unanimous nomination and election as the next Chairman of APC. I also congratulate all other members of the NEC who will be elected or returned unopposed into various positions in the NEC. I wish them all the very best, especially because the task before them is not an easy one. The Party has imminent elections to fight, but all is not well as there are many disgruntled elements wishing to be heard as to the direction the party should take and their concerns and protests are simply being waved aside. How the Oshiomole led NEC deals with this grave issue will be the litmus test of the new Executive and may well determine whether it will be boom or gloom and doom for the party at the next polls.

History is very strange and dramatic. Comrade Oshiomhole is set to take over from another great man from our dear beloved Edo State, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, a former Governor of the State like Comrade Adams, and a leading light in the fight for democracy in Nigeria, which led him into forced exile in England. A perfect gentleman, Chief Oyegun led the All Progressive Congress to victory in 2015 ensuring that he achieved the first of leading an opposition Party to victory in Nigeria. However, since then he has had to fight an endless war of attrition and rebellion inside his own party. His first real test came with the Party’s failure to manage election, or shall I say selection, for the leadership of the National Assembly culminating in the debacle which led to the People’s Democratic Party’s, Ike Ekweremadu, being elected as Deputy Senate President.

Oyegun’s unflinching and unyielding loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari brought him into frontal collision with those within the party who felt that he did not protect them at all against the onslaught from the Presidency. There was also a time the party was having problems with a major pillar of its success in 2015, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was supposed to be one of his solid backers in the past. Oyegun’s position at that time was considered a betrayal of Tinubu who had expected that his support and assistance to Oyegun in times gone past had not been repaid. His loyalty therefore became an albatross which he couldn’t shake off easily. Oyegun had wanted an extension of his tenure as Chairman of APC’s NEC, but he soon found that he could not count on the support of President Buhari. Try as he may to get the backing of the President on this issue he found out that he was only meeting with an immovable force, a concrete brick wall in the President. Indeed, the President was later to practically decree that the NEC should be dissolved and fresh elections conducted to fill the vacant positions. Oyegun threw his hat into the ring but soon found out that he did not have the support of the Presidency, although this remained an unspoken, but open secret. In consequence, Oyegun withdrew from the Chairmanship race and slunk into a corner to sulk and lick his real and festering open wound!

Well, having practically disposed of its Chairmanship palaver, the bickering, intrigues and betrayals all end today, as a new chapter is opened in the party. According to impeccable sources, the party wants to make a clean sweep and start today and reject any candidate suspected to be coming from the camp of perceived renegades. And if the truth be told, there are many of such rebellious elements within the ruling party. Their disaffection and the damage that could be caused if the situation is not properly managed has been much chronicled by many people, including myself, but the party seems adamant on having its way. For me, this is the crux of the matter. APC must tread softly, softly, lest it repeats the mistakes of the leadership of its immediate predecessor in government, PDP, which fought so much, on many fronts, till the centre could no longer hold and mere anarchy was loosed upon its fold. At that time, PDP was rooster sure that those who wished to quit the party were free to go. My advice is that APC should not abandon its reconciliation moves no matter the magnitude of the problems and attendant confusion at the moment. The party still has in its favour, the fact that the perception of the generality of Nigerians is that notwithstanding its fumbles, wobbles and stumbles, the party is still a more trustworthy party than the PDP because of the unrivalled pillaging of the country which took place in the 16 years of PDP misrule. However, if the problems within the APC community continues unchecked it is not unlikely that people get irritated and frustrated that the party is unable to put its house in order and may start seriously considering alternatives, including the much-maligned PDP.

For this reason, the party must remember that there are general elections in less than nine months and so it has little time to restore order amongst its ranks. The party cannot afford to be complacent. Whilst there is no doubt that the party won a convincing victory in the 2015 elections, the margin of victory and the number of those who apparently exhibited voter apathy and abstained from voting at the elections should be a veritable source of concern to the party. Indeed, had PDP gotten anything close to the number of voters in the South South and South East, and to a lesser extent the South West, that voted for it in 2015, it would easily have won the Presidential elections.

A brief recap shows that in 2011, PDP and its candidate, President Jonathan, won almost 22 and a half million votes, with a considerable chunk coming from the South South and South East, whilst CPC and its candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, won just about 12 and a quarter million votes. The candidate for AC, Nuhu Ribadu, the former anti-corruption Czar won just over 2 million votes. If one adds up the progressive votes of CPC and AC, which were the votes of the opposition at the time, the total comes to about 14 and a half million votes. The total votes cast in that election was about 38 million votes and the margin of victory over the opposition was about 8 million votes. In the 2015 elections, President Buhari and the ruling APC, which was an amalgamation of CPC, AC and the new PDP as the major parties, could only manage just under 15 and a half million votes. In effect this was just one million more votes than the opposition had garnered in the 2011 elections. On the other hand, PDP could only muster just under 13 million votes. The margin of victory was only just over two and a half million votes. As can be seen, it was not therefore that the opposition gained a lot of votes as much as that PDP lost almost 10 million votes which was a clear sign of how badly it was perceived by the people who decided that they would not vote for it. Thus, the numbers must therefore add up or APC may die a premature death as the ruling party. I’m sure PDP is yet to fully recover from the cataclysmic fall it suffered in 2015. This was how it started like a joke.

I have watched in utter dismay how some party chieftains have been boasting that they will win elections no matter how many people abandon the party. It may turn out to be much more complex than they envisage. Some of those being suspected of anti-party activities include the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, The Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Governor Waziri Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, Dr Samuel Ioraer Ortom of Benue State and several others. Of course, there has been no love lost between their different camps. It seems the main apparatchik never trusted most of those who joined APC from PDP. They’ve been treated like second class citizens. All efforts to reconcile the party have failed so far.

If the APC loses only some of the votes that this group commands it is clear that its wafer thin majority may disappear and so will its government, bad PDP or not. That is a chilling prospect for APC to consider when it decides to share the spoils of victory at its National convention today.

PDP, Ohaneze Ndigbo Demand Immediate Release Of Senator Abaribe
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 06-23-2018, 11:44 AM - No Replies

Quote:The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed fears over the safety of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, (PDP Abia), who was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The party lamented that the Gestapo-style arrest of Abaribe has further confirmed the earlier alarm that the APC-led Federal Government had commenced a total clampdown on the opposition and perceived opponents of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 re-election bid.

In a statement issued by its Spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP said the clampdown on Senator Abaribe was part of the moves to intimidate and emasculate members of the National Assembly who are known for their outspokenness against the constitutional violations and misrule of the APC administration.

The party said that the Federal Government had given no reasons for the arrest and detention of Senator Abaribe, who had been kept incommunicado without access to his lawyers and associates.

“The party also notes the apprehension of Nigerians following numerous alleged plots by the Federal Government to frame up other lawmakers, including Senate President Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremmadu, as well as Senators Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani.

“Nigerians can now see that our dear nation is fast descending into a fascist state where constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech no longer obtains and citizens are marked, arrested and detained on the whims and caprices of those in power.

The PDP asked the DSS to immediately declare Senator Abaribe’s whereabouts, as well as the charge against him, adding, “the laws of our nation are clear on the process of arrest and prosecution of any citizen and not recourse to clampdown and intimidation.”

On its part the leadership of the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo said the prevailing circumstances at the time of the disappearance of Nnamdi Kanu were beyond the contemplation of the law that a surety can guarantee the production of an accused person.

In a statement issued by its President General, Chief Nnia Nwodo, Ohaneze said the army “in the name of Operation Python Dance” invaded Nnamdi’s home and destabilised normalcy there.

The statement reads: “It is only the security agency that can disclose Nnamdi’s whereabouts.

“Senator Abaribe has no capacity, nor has any surety in the circumstances to know the whereabouts of Nnamdi Kanu. What happened in Umahia was an invasion, a war of a kind.

“Nnamdi may have been killed or captured in the imbroglio or even escaped into hiding.

“The onus lies on the security forces to disclose his whereabouts. The judiciary is beginning to tow the line of the executive by throwing the law overboard in matters that affect the South East. We are all equal before the law”.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 23RD JUNE.

OUR BOLDNESS IN PRAYER.

According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him (Ephesians 3:11-12).

Some people marvel at us sometimes when we pray, wondering why we could be so audacious and confident. The reason we pray with such authority and audacity of faith is that we pray in the Name of Jesus. In John 14:13, Jesus said, “...whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

The key is asking in His Name; living in the authority of His Name. Many, lacking this understanding pray “through” Jesus, instead of praying “in” the Name of Jesus. There’s a great difference between the two. When you pray in the Name of Jesus, you’re exercising the full legal powers He gave you to act in His stead. But to pray through Him is to make Him a medium, which isn’t required now that you’re in Him.

When you understand and have the consciousness, of the power and import of the Name of Jesus, and what it represents, you won’t have to try to “squeeze” up faith when you need it. When you pray or make demands in His Name, it’s as though Jesus Himself were speaking; everything responds to you the same way they would respond to Jesus. The angels, demon spirits, and all of nature respond to you as though they were hearing directly from Jesus.

In Matthew 17:5, the Father spoke from heaven: “…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” He was telling all of creation, all of nature—animate and inanimate—to hear and obey Jesus. So, when Jesus said to ask anything in His Name and it’d happen, it was against this backdrop. He meant that His power would be behind our demands, prayers, requests, and instructions, to bring them to pass. This is the reason for our boldness and confidence in prayer.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for I have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Jesus Christ. And in His Name, I lay hold of my inheritance. The whole world is mine, because I’m a joint-heir with Christ. All of nature responds to me, blessed be God. Amen.

EXCLUSIVE: Seychelles Begins Probe Of Saraki, Wife, For Alleged Money Laundering

EXCLUSIVE: Seychelles begins probe of Saraki, wife, for alleged money laundering

Authorities in Seychelles have opened a criminal investigation into the multi-million dollar assets which Senate President Bukola Saraki and his wife, Toyin, are believed to hold through offshore shell companies in tax havens, PREMIUM TIMES can report.

Bukola and Toyin Saraki are being targeted by financial intelligence operatives for their “suspicious” use of offshore shell companies as uncovered in the Panama Papers investigation published in 2016, according to new records obtained by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and shared with PREMIUM TIMES and other partners.

Investigators at the Seychelles Financial Intelligence Unit said they are interested in determining whether or not Mrs Saraki stood as a front for her husband in the ownership of some of the offshore holdings linked to the family when a trove of offshore assets managed by Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca, was leaked to the media.

The investigators are also working to determine if the transactions undertaken with the shell companies were used to launder funds or carry out other suspicious activities.

Two weeks after the Sarakis were exposed as owning undeclared offshore assets in violation of Nigeria’s code of conduct regulations, detectives from that country’s FIU asked Mossack Fonseca to furnish them with all documents relating to Sandon Developments Ltd, a firm registered in Seychelles under Toyin Saraki’s name.

Mossack Fonseca responded to the request on April 29, 2016, by forwarding a link to the PREMIUM TIMES article on the Panama Papers as well as all documents relating to Sandon Ltd, including international passports and business activities.

The status of the investigation, however remained unclear as there is no record of any update about it since Mossack Fonseca responded to the authorities’ requests at the end of April 2016.

Mrs Saraki registered Sandon Ltd in 2011 and used it to buy a family property at #8 Whittaker Street, Belgravia, London SW1W 8JQ.

Mr Saraki denied links to the offshore assets in 2016, saying they belonged to his wife’s family. But information obtained by PREMIUM TIMES at the time indicated that the Senate President merely used his wife as a front, and Seychelles authorities also found the denial unconvincing.

The revelations were amongst the findings of a lengthy investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and more than 100 other global news organizations – including PREMIUM TIMES.

PREMIUM TIMES was the only Nigerian publication involved in the investigation, which lasted a year before the first set of stories started running on April 3.

For two weeks, Yusuph Olaniyonu, a spokesperson for Mr Saraki, did not return PREMIUM TIMES requests for comments about the criminal investigation of his principal and spouse in Seychelles.

Nigerian authorities had previously stated that they were investigating Mr Saraki’s offshore assets that were not declared in contravention of the law, but no charges have been brought against him.

Offshore shell entities are not necessarily fraudulent. There are legitimate uses for them by businesspersons across the world, but several other people, including criminals, have used them for untoward activities.

When Mrs Saraki registered Sandon Ltd on January 12, 2011 in Seychelles, she listed Babatunde Morakinyo, a long-term personal aide and friend of Mr Saraki, as a shareholder.

Mr Morakinyo was amongst the top aides of Mr Saraki who were identified by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as laundering billions of naira in suspected bribes from the Paris Club refund to Nigerian states in 2017.

While incorporating that Sandon Ltd, documents show, Mrs Saraki bought a curious service from Mosshich she tucked the hidden assets.

PREMIUM TIMES further reported at the time that Sarakis used nominee directors in order to perhaps avoid being identified as the beneficial owner of Sandon. Nominee directors are sometimes used in tax havens to conceal real owners of companies and assets.

She then made an undertaking indemnifying the Panamanian company “in respect of all claims, demands, actions, suits, proceedings, costs and expenses whatsoever as may be incurred or become payable by you in respect of or arising out of any member or employee or associate of your company or associated companies holding any office, directorship or shareholdings in the company or by reason of or in consequence of any act or decision made by any such person or company in connection with the management and/or administration of the said company.”

Shortly after the company was incorporated, Mrs. Saraki used it, in July 2011, to buy the property on Whuttaker Street, Belgravia, London SW1W 8JQ.

The property, acquired from Renocon Property Limited, a company registered in the British Virgin Island, was never disclosed to Nigerian authorities as required by the country’s code of conduct law.

The revelations came at the time Mr Saraki was being tried by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for failing to properly declare his local assets when he became governor in 2003, 2007 and when he moved to the Senate in 2011, having completed the two terms allowed under the Constitution.

In June 2017, the CCT found Mr. Saraki not guilty on all the 18 counts of false assets filings as brought against him by the Nigerian government.

The Nigerian government challenged the ruling at the Court of Appeal, which affirmed the conclusion of the tribunal on all but three counts in a December 12 ruling. Mr Saraki appealed the decision to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver its judgment in the appeal on July 6.

Meet the Nigerian Policeman alleged to have 2billion

The Lagos State Police command has revealed the face of police man, who was accused on social media of having billions of naira in his bank accounts and also living like a king.
His name is Christopher Marcel Nnabugwu, attached to the Divisional Crime  branch at   Ogudu Police Division in Lagos.

A woman wearing a mask, in a video that went viral, had called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the source of the cop’s wealth. She gave his name as  Sergeant  Marcel Nnabugwu, serving at the Mobile Squad 18, Owerri, Imo state – stating that  Nnabugwu owned a property at house number 27, Fani Kayode street, GRA, Ikeja which she estimated  at N250 million. She also  alleged  that the cop  used  n exotic car with customized number plate titled ‘MCON’ and that  whenever he entered into a night club, the club would shut down.
The masked lady also said the policeman is worth over N2 billion, adding that he spent millions during his 30th birthday party, at a club on Lagos Island in May.
As a result, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, was  ordered by the  Inspector– General of Police,  Ibrahim Idris, to  carry out discreet investigation. It was later found out the acclaimed  GRA apartment of the cop, only to discover that it was owned by another person.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Edgal had this to say;

Quote:” Investigation by detectives from the Lagos Command revealed that there exists indeed one Christopher Marcel Nnabugwu, alias MCON. The said Christopher Marcel Nnabugwu was enlisted into the Police Force in the year 2000 and was trained at the Police College Oji River, Enugu State.
He is presently an Inspector of Police serving at Ogudu Police Division where he is attached to the Divisional Crime Brand (DCB) and not a Police Sergeant serving at MOPOL 18 Owerri, as alleged. ” Inspector Marcel Nnabugwu has never served in Mobile Police Force, MPF since his enlistment into the Nigeria Police. His picture in Police Mobile Uniform  that was down loaded by the masked woman from his wall on  Facebook as attested by the lady,  was the uniform he wore when he went for Mobilization exercise into the PMF for which he was not successful. ”
Investigation also revealed  that he does not own a car nor landed property in any part of Nigeria or anywhere else in the world. He is a tenant in  building  on Old Otta road, Oke-Odo, where he occupies a room and parlour”.
This goes to show that the masked woman in the video is out to tarnish the image of the police. She is currently on the police wanted list. We will not rest until we arrest her. She will be hunted and when she is arrested she will be charged to court”

The association’s Public Relations Officer, Rev. Joseph John Hayab in a statement said,

“Never in the history of Nigeria has a Presidential spokesperson displayed ignorance and greed for opportunity by insulting an entire religion and its organised association as demonstrated by the irresponsible remarksn by presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie that called the Christian Association of Nigeria a “CAN of Worms”, simply because we insist that the Federal Government should rescue Leah Sharibu and stop the killings of Nigerians."

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe Arrested By DSS

Quote:The Department of State Servicves (DSS) on Friday arrested Eyinnaya Abaribe, the senator representing Abia South at the National Assembly.

SaharaReporters can confirm that Abaribe was arrested at a popular hotel in the Maitama District of Abuja.

The senator is believed to have come under the watch of the DSS since standing as surety for Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who hasn't been seen or heard in public since the ARmy invaded his home last year.

Also, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, had complained only on Thursday that about the "illegal addition" of N30 billion into the budget of power.

"The amount never passed through the senate power committee. Where did such huge sum of N30 billion come from? Let the budget office and other relevant bodies conduct self-examination. Such self-examination will go a long way to clear gray areas."

The senator had said he was unhappy that the budget allocation for the Enugu airport terminal was reduced by N500 million from the 2 billion that was first submitted by the executive.

According to him, "no right-thinking Igbo man would support any cut on allocation for projects in the south-east region".

Priest Slaps Crying Baby, Internet Flips Its $hit

Well, this is quite disturbing.

We never thought we'd write that about a video that features a priest and a baptism... but here we are.
Footage of a priest slapping - yes, SLAPPING - a crying baby during a baptism has made its way around the Internet, sparking the sort of outrage you'd expect when, it bears repeating...
... there's footage of a PRIEST SLAPPING A CRYING BABY.
The YouTube video was initially shared on Reddit with a caption that reads what we just wrote: “A priest slaps an infant during his baptism.”
On Reddit, the user wrote: “this happened today in France, I’m really shocked.”
Well, yeah!
Who would not be?!?
In the 43-second video that we've shared above, the unnamed priest is shown holding the child’s tear-filled face as the boy sits in a woman’s arms.
We assume this woman is a loved one.
The priest looks like he's trying to comfort the young kid... until, in the middle of the video, the man of God is shown slapping the child across his cheek.
There's certainly no other way to interpret what we're seeing here.
The boy's parents react to this violent act with stunned expressions, as their son starts to scream even more.
We then see the priest pulling the child closer as a woman, who appears to be a church official, briefly approaches him.
"I saw this video on Facebook and I cried," wrote one Twitter user in response, adding:
"I was filled with anger and sadness. If I was the mother of that baby I wouldn’t hesitate to push or slapped the damn priest back!! I don’t care what he is!!"
At one point, the infant struggles in the priest’s arms, prompting a man nearby to forcibly remove the kid from the priest’s arms.
It's just weird and wild and disturbing stuff all around.
"This child will be traumatized by [priests] now," wrote another grossed-out social media user.
“This is so scary and sickening, that baby knew that’s the devil in disguise,” another added. “That’s no priest.”

Danielle Bregoli: Why Her Last Words to XXXTentacion Will Haunt Her Forever

On Monday, rapper XXXTentacion was shot dead in Miami. While some shed no tears over the death of a man accused of horrific abuse against his ex, others are in mourning.
One of those grieving is Danielle Bregoli, whose Cash Me Ousside line spawned a meme and launched her very own rap career.
She revealed her chilling final conversation with XXXTentacion, and the words that will haunt her for the rest of her life.
[Image: danielle-bregoli-pensive-on-the-stairs.png]
Danielle Bregoli took to Instagram to share her grief.
"Yesterday," Danielle writes. "I lost one someone very important to me."
Before his passing, most fans of either of them weren't even aware that the two were friends.
Danielle explains: "x was not only a close friend but he was a inspiration."
Though she's 5 years younger, she, too, is a rapper.
"He gave me the best advice," Danielle tells her fans. "And was always there for me when I needed him."
It sounds like she regarded him as a mentor. But things weren't always good between them.
Danielle says: "Even when we would argue or he would call me yelling and mad or disappointed because I did some dumb s--t he would always say 'Ight I love you mamas' before he hung up."
That sounds like quite the friendship.
"The feeling of him being gone kills me," Danielle confesses. "He would always be one call away."
The suddenness of that loss can really hit you.
[Image: danielle-bregoli-at-the-billboard-music-awards.jpg]
"And I hate the thought that when I’m in the need to talk to him when I’m upset he won’t be here to tell me everything’s gonna be okay," Danielle says.
Danielle also reveals, to her horror, what her last words to him were.
"Bc of that dumb Trippie and 69 s--t," she says. "Unfortunately the last call I had with x ended with me saying 'i don’t ever wanna talk to you again' and nothing is killing me right now more than that."
Danielle has recently been lamenting the toxic gangster imagery that some rappers project and even embrace as part of their brand, and the feuds that arise from it.
But she must be plagued with so much undeserved guilt over those words.
"And the crazy thing is," Danielle says. "Sunday night I had the urge to call him and I forgot."
It happens.
Danielle describes how she got the news:
"Then yesterday afternoon I plugged my phone in in the car and randomly 'sad' came on then my phone buzzed i looked down and I had got the message saying he passed away."
That must have been a terrible experience.
[Image: danielle-bregoli-with-nails-for-days.png]
"I didn’t know what to say and my mind couldn’t process it," she confesses.
She says that, at first, it did not feel real.
"I just couldn’t believe he was gone and I still can’t," Danielle admits, adding the tag: #ripxxxtentacion"
Danielle also revealed that XXXTentacion had made a video call to her.
She didn't give any context, but some of his last words to her were:
"I was wrong. I was wrong," the late rapper told her over a video call.
XXXTentacion continues, saying: "I'm not afraid to admit I was wrong. I care about your emotions."
We don't know the specific context, but it's clear that 15-year-old Danielle and the late rapper had a close friendship.
Danielle Bregoli may have risen to fame for being a barely-teenage troublemaker, but she has some serious words of wisdom to share.
"This needs to be a wake-up call," Danielle tells TMZ, to all of the rappers who try to present hardened or thuggish images of themselves.
"People are gonna get a hold of them," Danielle fears.
"It's not funny anymore. We've lost X 'cause of this."
She laments that so many individuals "want to act all big and bad."
"Is this what you all needed?" Danielle asks tearfully.
"Now X is gone. Does this make any sense to you, now? Do you understand this is real life and not a f--king video game?"
In video games, people can adopt new roles without real-world consequences. In real life, portraying yourself as a hardened criminal who doesn't back down can lead to your death.
Though we don't know if XXXTentacion's death was the result of anything of the sort.

Farrah Abraham Lies to Daughter About Her Arrest, Fails at Parenting AGAIN

Farrah Abraham Lies to Daughter About Her Arrest, Fails at Parenting AGAIN

Farrah Abraham's daughter, Sophia, is nine years old, which means that it's been nearly a decade now that she's been in the public eye.
And somehow, against all odds, she keeps on getting worse.
After doing a couple of them, Teen Mom OG producers sat her down to talk about them, as well as her anger issues and her habit of disrespecting crew members.
She didn't appreciate the talk, and when she was offered another chance to stay on the show if she'd just quit the porn and act like a decent human being during filming, she declined and decided to cut ties with MTV instead.
Things got really bad after that -- she went on all these delusional rants about being a victim of hate crimes, and she really seemed to be in a bad place emotionally.
She sued Viacom for many strange, nonsensical reasons, she lashed out at anyone she could think of, and she made some incredibly bizarre statements.
Will you ever be able to forget the time she said that she and Sophia take nude photos of each other and save them on their phones?
We know we won't.
The point is that things have been extra bad for a long time now ... and that they got even worse last week, when she was arrested.
You've probably heard this story a few times by now, but it's still a good one: Farrah was at the Beverly Hills Hotel when she got into an argument with some people that was bad enough that a security guard asked her to leave.
It's Farrah, so she didn't listen. Instead, she allegedly hit the guard, which is what got her arrested.
Not surprisingly, the cops who arrested her reported that she seemed intoxicated, and witnesses said that during the altercation, she was yelling things like "you should know who I am."
She spent a few hours in jail, then was right back to being just as insane as ever.
She's said more than once now that all the reports, including the police report, apparently, are all lies, and that she's being bullied because she's famous.
You know, typical Farrah nonsense.
But in this new interview she did with Us Weekly, she's explaining what she told Sophia about the arrest.
And it's ... well, it's not great.
"I actually did explain everything to her," she says. "As it happens, you gotta just say unexpected things may occur and you just gotta keep your cool."
"You can be so nice to a certain extent and then it's like, 'Whew.' People will try to ruin your career and you do nothing to have that happen."
She adds that "I'm just working hard and we are on track."
"I'm just thankful I didn't get really in trouble because I really would've been sad about that, if it were my fault."
It's hard to understand exactly what she's saying here, as always, but the gist of it is that after being arrested for hitting a security guard, she simply told her daughter that people were out to get her and that it wasn't her fault at all.
[Image: farrah-and-sophia-at-the-mtv-movie-awards.png]
Which doesn't seem like the healthiest way of explaining something like that to a kid, you know?
Farrah doesn't sound too concerned about how Sophia handled the situation though.
Instead, she says "It was very confusing for me and I wish that no other single mom or person in the public eye has to deal with that. It's a confusing place to be in."
So how confusing must it have been for Sophia, who doesn't have another parent to fall back on if this one keeps getting arrested?
She's got a plan for that!
"We had to go out last night for events and I was just very strict with my team about -- hey, if someone has to go to the bathroom, we're not leaving each other alone," she says.
"Always have a buddy. Don't be left alone and don't be out until a certain hour."

Demi Lovato: Heartbreaking New Details of Relapse Revealed

Yesterday, Demi Lovato released a brand new song called "Sober," which was really exciting.
... Or it was exciting until people actually listened to the song and learned that it was all about her lack of sobriety these days.
Yep, Demi, who just celebrated her sixth anniversary of giving up alcohol and drugs back in March, has relapsed, and thanks to her new song, there's absolutely no doubt about it.
Honestly, it sounds like she's in a particularly bad way, too -- in the first verse, she sings "Wake me when the shakes are gone and the cole sweats disappear / Call me when it's over and myself has reappeared."
She also explains that "Sometimes I just wanna cave and I don't wanna fight," which is concerning, to say the least.
With lyrics like those, and ones like "Mama, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore / And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor," it sounds like she's actively in addiction right at this very moment.
Like she was present enough to write this song, but she still hasn't been able to actually get sober and then reflect back on this relapse.
It's sad, and scary, especially considering how bad her addiction was six years ago.
Demi Lovato - "Sober"
At the end of the song, Demi sings "I'm sorry that I'm here again / I promise I'll get help," but according to a source close to her who spoke with Radar Online, that's not necessarily the case.
"No one can get her attention," the source claims. "Her team tried to hire a sober coach, and she went nuts!"
Another source alleges that "Demi relapsed about two months ago because she stopped the accountability portion of her recovery."
A third, more direct insider says "Everyone knows Demi is off the rails."
Yet another source tells Entertainment Tonight that her relapse happened sometime during her break from touring -- she finished the North American portion of her world tour on April 2nd, then kicked things off in Europe on May 24th.
Someone else told the site that "Demi relapsed and started drinking alcohol again. Her song is intense, but that's how she deals."
"She has to be brutally honest and put it out there so that she's not burdened with holding on to her struggles privately."
So this is a whole, whole lot of information, right?
Let's try to break some of it down.
If Demi's relapse happened during her break and also two months ago, then it sounds like she must have started drinking again sometime in April.
It also definitely sounds like she's still not sober, and like she's not in the best place right now to get that way.
Now, looking back at her recent behavior with this new knowledge, certain things are a little more interesting.
For instance, she's been canceling shows lately because of what she said were problems with her vocal chords.
In a note she posted to social media earlier this month, she postponed a London concert "due to being very, very sick and with swollen vocal chords."
"If I go on tonight and injure my vocal chords anymore I could potentially have to cancel the rest of my tour," she said.
She seemed very upset with the cancellation, saying that she wrote the note "through tears of frustration and sadness," and to her fans, she wrote "it breaks my heart to let you down."
She did insist that "I feel your frustration and I wouldn't do this unless I absolutely had to."
And all of that could definitely be true -- Demi certainly puts her vocal chords to work during a world tour.
But you know what's really, really hard on vocal chords, and what can also make you very, very sick?
Alcohol.
We hope this new song of hers is a step in the right direction, and that she's able to get the help she needs to get sober again soon.
In the meantime ... we'll be thinking about you, girl.

Quote:A Nigerian Army captain on deployment in the North-east has committed suicide, PREMIUM TIMES can report.

The officer flipped his rifle towards own stomach and opened fired. The incident occurred at the 7 Division Medical Centre in Maiduguri on June 18, military sources said.

He was referred to the facility for medical examination and treatments.

PREMIUM TIMES is withholding the officer’s name because it is not clear whether his family members have been notified.

He was drafted to the North-east as part of the war against Boko Haram from the Nigerian Army 22 Armoured Brigade in Ilorin.

The brigade has notified appropriate authorities of the development, including the Defence Headquarters.

Before the officer killed himself, he threatened shooting a storekeeper at the medical centre armoury, who fled for safety.

After the scare, the captain killed himself. He was rushed for treatment, but passed on shortly thereafter.

The officer was attached to troops operating in Mafa Local Government Area, Borno State, the heart of Boko Haram onslaught. He collected his gun from the armoury on June 18, saying he was returning to Mafa to join his team the next day.

Fayemi: "Fayose Will Only Be Allowed To Vote On Election Day & Go Back"
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 06-22-2018, 01:47 PM - No Replies

Quote:All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has assured the people of Ekiti State of adequate security on July 14 when they will go to polls to elect a new governor.

Fayemi urged eligible voters to come out and exercise their civic rights and not to be intimidated by Governor Ayo Fayose’s alleged threats to cause mayhem on election day.

The APC flag bearer declared that the incumbent governor will be caged on the day of election as he (Fayose) will only be allowed to vote and go back to his house in Afao.

He said: “We will ensure adequate security for voters on election day because if you are not well protected, the election will not be free, far, credible, transparent, genuine and acceptable.

“Fayose cannot threaten or intimidate anybody on the day of election. Fayose will only be allowed to cast his vote and he will go back to his house in Afao.”

Fayemi who spoke on Thursday while on campaign tour to communities in Ido/Osi Local Government Area said he was on a mission to rescue Ekiti people from poverty, misery, bad governance and put the state on the path of good governance, progress and development.

Communities visited by Fayemi include Ifaki, Orin, Ora, Aaye, Ifisin, Igbole, Osi, Ido, Ilogbo, Usi and Ayetoro where more People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and members defected to the APC.

Fayemi was joined at the rallies by the deputy governorship rally, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi; Ekiti APC Chairman, Chief Olajide Awe; former Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye; former House of Assembly Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin; former House of Assembly member, Mrs. Bunmi Oriniowo and a senatorial aspirant, Dr. Olusegun Osinkolu.

He described the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State as a vote for freedom.

The APC flag bearer said Fayose, his party, PDP, and the candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, have nothing to showcase in those communities in the last three-and-half years noting that the projects being enjoyed by the people were the ones he (Fayemi) executed in his first tenure.

Fayemi said projects like civic centres, health centres, five kilometer community roads, school and hospital renovations are flagship projects that will swing votes in APC’s favour.

He promised that all the human capital development policies like payment of monthly stipends to the aged, free health services, free education, payment of WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and JAMB fees for pupils in public schools will return the movement an APC government takes over in October.

Fayemi also promised more Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) assisted projects, employment through Peace Corps, Ekiti Traffic Management Agency (EKSTMA), return of Core Subject Allowances and Rural Teachers’ Allowances, regular payment of workers’ salaries and pensioners’ benefits.

According to him, a special health intervention programme for Obas and chiefs tagged “Ilera Laafin,” Local Council Development Areas, Volunteer Corps scheme, among others will return.

He also debunked the PDP allegation that he would sack teachers and civil servants noting that workers enjoyed salary increase three times during his first tenure.

Fayemi lampooned Fayose for owing core civil servants, local government workers and teachers between five and nine months salaries expressing regret that no worker had collected salaries meant for this year (2018).

He said it was an act of irresponsibility and insincerity for the governor to be calling himself a friend of civil servants and teachers and still be owing them arrears of salaries despite getting financialreliefs from the Federal Government.

The former Minister of Mines and Steel Development declared that the PDP will meet its waterloo on election day as Ekiti people who had allegedly been deceived will show the umbrella party the way out of the Government House.

He urged party members and voters to go back to their units and work noting that election is not won on the social media but at the polling units.

Fayemi added: “Let’s deal with them (PDP) with our votes, we are going to give them a bloodied nose with our votes on July 14 because Fayemi of today is different from that of yesterday.

“If the PDP people come here, they have nothing to campaign with and that is why they are resorting to lies but they have exhausted their lies.

“Go to your units, vote and protect your votes. Election is not done on Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp, the votes are at the polling units.

“APC will give a better life to our people, we have done it before and with your support, we will do it again because our legacies are all around the state for everybody to see.”

In almost all the communities visited, hundreds of PDP top members defected to APC citing greed, selfishness and undemocratic conduct of the governor.

At Igbole, Isaac Idowu led the entire Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM) structure to defect to APC. An appreciative old woman led scores of women to thank Fayemi for providing them succour through payment of monthly social security stipend to stay alive.

At Ifaki, country home of former Governor Segun Oni, who joined Fayemi on campaign trail, the APC’s standard bearer thanked Ifaki people for their unflinching support and pledged that he would ensure the development of the town and welfare of its people.

Mammoth crowds attended rally at Ido-Ekiti where Cyril Fasuyi popularly called the “GOC of Ido/Osi Politics, led who is who in Ido politics to defect to APC.

He described Fayose as a “selfish politician who fraudulently schemed him out of the House of Representatives contest in 2014,” vowing that the governor would pay for his undemocratic and callous conduct to members of his party who worked for his success at poll but “paid them back with evil”.

Fasuyi assured that 27,000 votes in Ido would be delivered to APC and vowed to take Fayose to court for taking Ido Osi allocations and misappropriated them for selfish motives.

All local government and ward executive members defected to APC, with the promise to deliver all the votes in Ido for APC.

The South East Senate Caucus has expressed shock over reported cut in the 2018 budget allocation for the Enugu Airport Terminal.

The Chairman of the caucus, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, and lawmakers from the region said they learnt
that an allocation of N2 billion sustained by the two aviation committees of the Senate and House of Representatives, were said to have been slashed to N500 million.

He said that the caucus had summoned an emergency meeting of South East lawmakers to unravel when the cut was effected and by who.

He added that “no right thinking Igbo man would support any cut on allocation for projects in the South East region.”

Abaribe, who said that the budget documents were verifiable, noted that “we are committed and determined to find out who made the cut.”

He said that the caucus actually lobbied for the Enugu Airport Terminal allocation to be increased
to N3.5 billion until the Ministry of Aviation told members of the caucus that what they had was an envelope which could not be increased beyond the N2 billion allocation.

Abaribe, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, noted that N30 billion was smuggled into the power budget without his committee’s knowledge.

He said that the N30 billion was listed for expansion and re-enforcement of infrastructure in the distribution companies to reduce stranded firms.

He added that “the amount never passed through the Senate Power committee.

“Where did such huge sum of N30 billion come from.

“Let the budget office and other relevant bodies conduct self examination. Such self examination will go a long way to clear gray areas.”

He explained that “in the case of the Enugu Airport Terminal and the Second Niger Bridge, we want to find out at what point the cut was made.”

Ebonyi Rejects FG's Proposed Cattle Ranching

Quote:Ebonyi govt. rejects FG’s proposed cattle ranching
Obinna Odogwu, Abakaliki

The Ebonyi State Government, on Thursday, rejected the Federal Government’s plan to establish cattle ranches in the state. It said that the state does not have enough land for its people who are majorly farmers let alone having lands for cattle.

It further said that it was embarrassed by reports in the newspapers concerning the inclusion of Ebonyi in the states where the federal government plans to establish pilot ranches; insisting that it never gave their nod to the plan.

The position of the state government was relayed by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Ikechukwu Nwobo, a lawyer, while addressing journalists shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held in Government House, Abakaliki.

The federal government, recently, listed Ebonyi as among the ten states that have provided land for the establishment of its pilot cattle ranches in the country. It told the federal government that there was no vacant land for cattle ranching in the state.

“The state executive council frowned at the news making rounding that the state has directed or provided for a cattle ranch in Ebonyi State. The highest organ of Ebonyi State is the state executive council and the state security council and any decision taken by this council is the last bus stop for the people and government of Ebonyi State.

“Whether the federal government consulted us, we are not aware of that. The State Executive Council has decided and made sure that there is no land for ranching in Ebonyi state.

“We never provided land for ranching in Ebonyi State and it is still our position and that those lands they said is for ranching is for those Northern states that have always been doing ranching which have been gazetted before now.

“We have no idea that we were included in the ranching, we were not gazetted. There is no land for any ranching in Ebonyi State and we are not aware that we are among those mentioned as ranching states.

“The Ebonyi State through the executive council wishes to state that the government has not provided or released any land for ranching, it has no plan to do that. The ranching programme being done by the federal government does not include Ebonyi State and it has been redirected to those states in the North where the farmlands have been gazetted and have ranching ground which they will now revitalize”, he said.

Lekki doctor flogs nurse and orders her to kneel down

A doctor practicing in a hospital in Lekki, Lagos state, has been accused of assaulting a nurse working in the same hospital.

Dr Emmanuel Okolo, 35, who works at Awoyaya Hospital and Maternity Centre, Ibeju Lekki, is said to have slapped nurse Dorcas Adeyera, 23, following a misunderstanding which stemmed from the treatment of a patient rushed into the medical facility in the early hours of Monday.

Dr Okolo was opposed to the fact that the patient, an accident victim, was admitted without his consent and he blamed nurse Dorcas for it. He then ordered that the patient and his family be asked to leave the hospital and told nurse Dorcas to follow through on the order.

In a report to the medical director of the hospital, nurse Dorcas said she asked the patient to leave the premises then left the scene. The patient and his family didn't leave as instructed and when the doctor found out, he sought out nurse Dorcas and dragged her into his office.

Once in his office, he ordered the nurse to kneel down but she refused and this angered him, so he turned violent. She said the doctor slapped her several times then unbuckled his belt, took it off, and used it to flog her multiple times while informing colleagues who tried to intervene that he's not the nurse's mate.

Dorcas  Adeyera added in her report: "He reached for the sphygmomanometer and was about using it to hit my head when the security men took it from his hand and another round of slaps on my cheeks followed. This time around, I fell on the floor and he started punching me."

The nurse told Punch that she has reported the case to the police at the Elemoro division, adding that she was treated at the Epe General Hospital.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Chike Oti, confirmed that the case was reported to the command and efforts are being made to arrest and interrogate the doctor.

Heartbreaking tale of an 8-year-old girl who called a philanthropist crying to report she'd been raped by her pastor/ lesson teacher

A Nigerian philanthropist has shared a heartbreaking story of an 8-year-old girl who called her crying to report that she had been raped by her lesson teacher who is also a pastor in their church.
Dr. Yolanda George-David said the child refused to speak with anyone else but her and when she got on the phone the sobbing child narrated her ordeal but begged her not to tell her mother because "she won't believe me".
When the parents of the victim were eventually informed, they accused their child of being possessed and refused to believe her account, even though they could see the blood on her genitals.
Dr Yolanda, aka Aunt Landa, wrote:

Quote:An 8years old Girl, called the foundation's rescue line....She refused to talk to anyone...all she wanted was to talk to Aunt Landa... ...She was crying but she knew what she wanted... "Aunt Landa"..
Agatha forwarded her number to me.. and I called.. ...As soon as I said "HELLO", she went... "Aunt Landa please can you come and get me, my lesson teacher just pushed his thing into me and there is blood everywhere ..." ...she continued..
"Aunty please don't tell my mummy, she won't believe me because Uncle (lesson teacher) is our pastor in church..." Oh mhen!!! I hate Sitting in the Car.. stuck in traffic on the way to any rescue... ...my head was going through a lot of things until I got stuck on ...'AM I DOING ENOUGH?

So I tried to put some of the relief mechanisms projects onto one page, that's the picture up there...to see if there's something else I should be doing... Gratefully...we arrived.. From rescuing that little girl..explaining to her what a rape kit was... to washing the blood off her after she had been processed... to fighting with her parents who said she was possessed blaming her for making them miss bible study ... and to watching them act like they couldn't see that their pastor had raped their daughter .. ...the question still kept hounding me..
AM I DOING ENOUGH? As I held her in my arms trying to comfort her...
It was still there... AM I DOING ENOUGH?
Even as I type these words... I still wonder AM I DOING ENOUGH?
I have spent all of my life..serving... holding several victims... but tonight..I wonder...AM I DOING ENOUGH?... #AuntLanda

Railway Engineering Scholarships In China Hijacked By Buhari’s Ministers, Others
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 06-22-2018, 11:39 AM - No Replies

Quote:Scores of young Nigerians, who travelled long distances from all over the country, besieged the complex to submit applications for foreign scholarships being offered by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

But authorities at the transport ministry rejected their applications, saying no such opportunities exist. The youth then protested, and at a point blocked the ministry’s entrance.

In fact, to douse escalating tension by the restless youth, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, Sabiu Zakari, issued a press statement Wednesday night suggesting that any claim that the Chinese firm was offering “railway engineering scholarships” is a scam
The ministry is not receiving any application for such training from the general public,” Mr. Zakari said. “Therefore the general public is advised to disregard any information being circulated for submission of such applications to the Ministry or any other person.”

But insiders have told PREMIUM TIMES that the permanent secretary and his ministry were not telling the truth.

“The facts are that CCECC, which is building a double-track standard gauge railway from Lagos in Southern Nigeria to Kano in the North, had approached the transportation ministry informing it of its plan to sponsor a number of young Nigerians to study for bachelor degrees in railway engineering in China,” a top official said. He requested not to be named for fear he might be victimised.
But rather than advertise the opportunities to request applications from interested Nigerian youth, the ministry simply contacted top government officials to nominate candidates for the slots, our sources said
Interested Nigerians without connections to ministers and other government officials were effectively blocked from competing for the scholarships, they said.

Insiders at the ministry also said those asked to nominate candidates include ministers, permanent secretaries, presidency officials and select federal lawmakers. The officials were requested to make the nominations in their personal capacities.

This newspaper obtained a copy of such letter sent by Mr. Zakari to the Minister of Trade, Investment & Industry, Okechukwu Enelamah.

The permanent secretary had on June 7, 2018 written to Mr. Enelamah, and other select top government functionaries to nominate suitable candidates for training as railway engineers in China.
On June 11, Mr. Zakari followed up with another letter to the minister and his colleagues detailing the specific requirements for nominees. He also asked the officials to forward the curriculum vitae and photocopies of required documents to his office before June 20, 2018.

Mr. Enemalah could not be reached Thursday morning. His known mobile telephone line failed to connect. His spokesperson, Constance Ikoku, is also yet to respond to multiple calls made to her.

Selection interviews for the slots, Mr. Zakari had written, were scheduled for between June 21 and 23 at the CCECC headquarters along Airport Road, Abuja.

But despite the cloak of secrecy thrown around the nomination process, the information about the opportunities leaked and was widely circulated on social media. Hundreds of youth from across the country then headed to Abuja to submit applications.

But the transport ministry refused to receive the applications from them, claiming the information circulated on social media was a scam.

Suspecting the officials were trying to restrict the scholarship opportunities to their own nominees, the applicants marched on the office of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to protest the alleged manipulation.
But security officers attached to the ministry denied the applicants entry into the premises where the minister’s office is located.

Angry Applicants

Buhari Abubakar, an applicant who came in from Kano to submit his application, lamented that his trip to the Nigerian capital dug a deep hole in the pockets of his parents.

“I branched CCECC on my way and I was directed to come for result verification at the transport ministry but on getting here, I am seeing something else entirely. When will our government be sincere and help the masses,” Mr Abubakar added.

Crisis Brews In NASS Over Sharing Of N578bn ‘padded Budget’ Projects
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 06-22-2018, 11:04 AM - No Replies

By Soni Daniel, Northern Region Editor

The stunning revelation by the Presidency that the National Assembly inserted personal projects worth N578 billion into the 2018 budget has stirred a serious dissension among members of the National Assembly, Vanguard learned, yesterday.

It was learned that many members of NASS who were unaware of the huge amount of money and phantom projects ‘built’ into the budget by the leadership, became very upset with the expose by the Presidency and have threatened to vent their anger on those who perpetrated the ‘cheating’ as soon as the legislature resumes.

The lawmakers are upset that most of them were allocated meagre projects and services valued at less than N50 million by the leadership of NASS, whereas each of them would have gone home with at least N1 billion allocation of the N578 billion.

There are 109 Senators and 360 House of Representatives members in the NASS and given the amount of N578 billion alleged to have been inserted into the budget, each member is supposed to have received at least N1 billion worth of project amounting to N469 billion, with a surplus of N109 billion for the top leaders of the legislature.

But one of the lawmakers from the South-West, who pleaded anonymity, said he was disappointed that the leadership of the NASS ‘actively short-changed’ some other members by allocating very small amount to them to service their communities but unjustifiably set aside huge amounts to themselves.

“We have to thank Mr. President for this eye-opening revelation on the padding of the 2018 budget by the NASS and we will take it from there when we resume in short while from now.

No security vote for State House —Udoma

In the meantime, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, has said there was no truth in the report by Amnesty International, entitled Camouflaged Cash: How ‘Security Votes’ Fuel Corruption in Nigeria, which “indicated, in part, that the Presidency was not only appropriating but “has also increased the number of security votes tucked into the Federal budget in the last two years.”

Answering questions during the budget briefing session, yesterday, in Abuja, the minister said it was necessary to state clearly that there was no line item as security vote in the State House budget.

Udoma said: “There are also provisions for military interventions in the North-East (insurgency), Operation Lafiya Dole, as well as other specific operations of the Armed Forces such as Operation Python Dance, Operation Crocodile Smile and very recently, Operation Cat Race, etc.

“Owing to the growing number of internal security issues, a provision of N75 billion was made for these exercises in the service-wide votes, not State House vote, in 2018.”

*RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (FREE JUNE PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*SINCERITY ISN’T RIGHTEOUSNESS .*

Friday, June 22nd .
Pastor Chris

_*For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).*_

In your walk with God, you have to understand that there’s a huge difference between sincerity and righteousness. Sometimes, we think that God should look at our sincerity and count it for righteousness, but it’s not so. No matter how sincere you are, it’ll never amount to righteousness.

God doesn’t hear and answer your prayers because you’re sincere, but because you’re righteous; because of Jesus; and your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus. The Bible says, _*“Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life”*_ (Romans 5:18). Righteousness is what gives you right standing in the presence of God. Your sincerity never gives you right standing before the Father.

A whole lot of Christians pray and cry to God, pleading on their sincerity, because they’re not aware of the truth of God’s Word. Never use your “sincerity” as a currency; that’s not what works; it’s your faith—your faith in His righteousness—that produces results.

Having been declared righteous, you have a right to be heard in the presence of God; you have peace with God (Romans 5:1). This didn’t happen on the basis of your “sincerity” or personal effort; it happened because He gave you His righteousness. Never think of God as one you need to “impress” with your good works so He’ll accept you or do anything for you; Jesus already impressed Him in your behalf.

So, when you plead your case before God, it shouldn’t be on the basis of your “performance” or self-righteousness. Rather, let it be on the basis of your right standing with Him in Christ Jesus. God’s blessings in your life—His goodwill towards you—have to do with the righteousness of Jesus Christ; that’s why you can be bold in His presence to make demands in the Name of Jesus. Hallelujah!

*PRAYER*

*Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for my spirit is enlightened through your Word. I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; therefore, I reign in life and exercise dominion over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

Akufo Addo Unfollows Shatta Wale On Twitter After Leaked Sex Video
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 04:13 PM - No Replies

Quote:President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo perhaps to show his resentment for indecency has un-followed dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale on Twitter.

The first gentleman of the land who is a known Shatta Movement (SM) fan and friend to the artiste did not assign reasons for his action.

It is believed the move is to register his disapproval and disgust at the recent post of a video attributed to the artiste in which he was seen enjoying a BJ from a lady described as a member of the Shatta Movement divas, aka home chicken or home fowl.

Shatta Wale was the first artiste to enjoy a presidential invite to the presidency shortly after the president took office and the occasion was his birthday.

The romance between the artiste and the president seem have gotten some other artistes jealous as they voiced their opposition to the selectivity by the president, with Dancehall artiste Stone Bwuoy sending a message via social media to the president to invite him too

Even though the artist has apologised for the blunder after insulting everyone including his fans, the apology doesn’t seem to have quelled the anger of some SM fans who have voiced out their opposition to the action

The presidency is said to be readying itself to issue a statement on the incident and particularly why the president un-followed his favourite artiste on twitter

The Lady In Shatta Wale’s Sex Tape Exposed (Photos)
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 04:11 PM - No Replies

A video went viral of two guys receiving a Mouth Gig from a fair lady. From most of the comments, it was alleged Shatta Wale is one of the guys in the video.
But how did the video leak? Well, Shatta Wale himself posted it on his Snapchat! Abnormal right? But sadly very true. He posted it himself.
Interestingly, he deleted the snap few minutes after but it had already been recorded by some folks and it quickly went viral.

And as usual, Shatta Wale was on his snap after he deleted video throwing jabs at bloggers. Almost every celebrity who messes up in Ghana finds it comfortable blaming bloggers. Shatta Wale claims bloggers recorded it and are spreading to disgrace him. Meanwhile, he posted it himself.

Funny enough, Natty Lee Gh, a fan and a friend of Shatta Wale was on Facebook stating that the person in the video is him and not Shatta Wale. He gave some funny reasons as to how his video got on Wale’s snap.

One question that has been on the lips of everyone since the video leaked is, Who is that lady giving that skillful BJ? Well, she has been busted by social media users.

We on MandyNews.com gathered on social media platforms, the lady in question is a very close friend of Shatta Wale’s baby mama Shatta Michy and she is always seen hovering around Michy whenever they go for any outdoor program.

MandyNews.com has not yet caught the name of this lady, photos of her are already going viral on social media.

More update coming soon.

Why Enugu Airport Project Will Be Delayed – Buhari
User Avatar Forum: Travel/Aviation
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 04:07 PM - No Replies

President Muhammadu Buhari stated on Wednesday that the terminal of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu will be delayed.

He said this was as a result of the reduction in the cost of the repair by 75 percent.

The President disclosed this on his official Twitter handle, following the signing of the 2018 budget in Abuja.

He tweeted, “The provision for construction of the terminal building at the Enugu airport was cut from N2bn to N500m, which will further delay the completion of this critical project.”

The Federal Government had a few years ago, decided to give the Enugu airport a facelift, with modern facilities to attract more flights, following its upgrade to an international airport.

The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, had said during a recent facility tour of the airport that when modernised, it would attract multi-billion naira investments in Enugu State.

However, since the project commenced, no definite completion date has been set for the terminal’s completion.

Quote:President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Bauchi, capital of Bauchi state, where a windstorm on Saturday destroyed many buildings and schools.

Buhari, who only several months ago visited the city, returned this morning to commiserate with the people over the loss of lives and property.

President Buhari had on 19 June also dispatched a team led by the minister of education, Malam Adamu Adamu to assess the damage done by the storm.

An estimated 1505 houses, including the office of The News Agency of Nigeria were destroyed by the storm.

The presidential delegation included the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja.

Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi had said 349 schools were damaged across the state by the windstorm.

Abubakar disclosed this while receiving Chairman and members of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Governing Board in Bauchi on a courtesy visit.

“From the report we received so far, 349 schools were affected by the recent disaster from 13 out of the 20 Local Government areas of the state.

” The schools need immediate renovation because the roofs, furniture and computers were all damaged and students are about to start examination,” he said.

Abubakar called on management of UBEC to assist in renovation of some of the schools, just as he urged the chairman to find time and inspect some of the affected schools.

Osinbajo Returns To Ekiti, Apologises To Monarchs For Not Paying Homage
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 03:56 PM - No Replies

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday begged Ekiti traditional rulers for not visiting them before he attended All Progressives Congress (APC) rally for governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Protocol demands that top government functionaries including the President, Vice President, Governors, Ministers and diplomats pay homage to the paramount ruler of federating states whenever they visit.

But Osinbajo skipped this on Tuesday, a development that attracted condemnation from the indigenes of the state and even the monarchs.

“The monarchs didn’t find it funny. That the VP came into town went straight to the APC rally without greeting them as protocol dictates was – to them – an insult”, a source close to the council of traditional rulers told the Press.

Apparently to correct the error, Osinbajo who left for Abuja after the campaign gathering on Tuesday, went back to Ekiti on Wednesday.

This time, the major agenda was to pay homage to the monarchs.

The Vice President, who headed straight to the palace of the Ewi of Ado, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, from Akure airport, apologised for his inability to pay homage to the monarchs on Tuesday.

He blamed an ‘emergency assignment in Abuja’ for the situation.

However, he urged traditional rulers in the state to ensure unity among people of various ethnic groups residing in their domains.

Osinbajo said working for unity in their various localities would assist the Federal Government to maintain peace in Ekiti and other parts of the country.

Osinbajo was accompanied on the visit by Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, Dr Kayode Fayemi, his running mate, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, and senior party leaders and campaign officials, appealed to monarchs to support Fayemi.

He also urged them to also collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure a peaceful conduct of the poll on July 14.

Responding, the Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju, said monarchs would always support the government in executing policies that will make life easier for the masses.

Oba Ademolaju lauded the Buhari administration for various achievements recorded in office.

Reacting, campaign organization of Ekiti Deputy Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Prof Kolapo Olusola described Osinbajo’s visit as “an afterthought and a damage control that can never redeem the image of the APC and Fayemi, as someone who do not have regard for the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe and the entire traditional rulers in the State.”

A statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity, Lere Olayinka, said “unlike the APC, we in the PDP will continue to hold our traditional institution in very high esteem.”

Olayinka added; “It is insulting for the APC and Fayemi to have disrespected our Obas openly yesterday, and now come back to secretly apologise to them today.

“We are also surprised that the Vice President could allow Fayemi to dissuade him from paying homage to the traditional rulers.

“Most importantly, it is unexplainable for the Vice President to have wasted public fund to come to Ado Ekiti twice within 24 hours just because Fayemi never regarded Obas in the State as worthy of being paid homage to.

“However, like we said yesterday; “We were not surprised that Fayemi made his guests, especially the Vice President to shun the palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, because he cannot point to any major landmark achievement of his four years reign as governor. For four years, Fayemi promised to complete the Amphitheatre in the palace of Ewi, he never did.

“The hall where Fayemi and his guests would have been received and the amphitheatre where his supporters would have seated were built by the PDP government of Governor Ayodele Fayose.”

Ekiti 2018: PDP Blasts Fayemi For Refusal To Pay Homage To Obas
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 03:45 PM - No Replies

The Peoples Democratic Party, Ekiti Chapter has blasted Kayode Fayemi, for shunning the palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, during the mega rally held on Tuesday.

The party said it was obvious that the APC did not have respect for the traditional institution.

“It is obvious that APC as a party does not have respect for the traditional institution.”

The Kolapo Olusola Campaign Organisation in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Lere Olayinka, said it was the height of disrespect for the traditional institution for Fayemi to have told the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, that it was not necessary for him and other APC governors that came to pay homage to the traditional ruler of Ado Ekiti, the state capital. He said;

“It is, however, not a surprise that Fayemi made his guests, especially the Vice President to shun the palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, because he cannot point to any major landmark achievement of his four years reign as governor. For four years, Fayemi promised to complete the amphitheatre in the palace of Ewi, he never did.

“The hall where Fayemi and his guests would have been received and the amphitheatre where his supporters would have seated were built by the PDP government of Governor Ayodele Fayose.”

Responding to the accusation, the Director of Media and Publicity, Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation, Mr. Wole Olujobi, said the PDP had run out of ideas by delving into an issue that did not add value to its campaign.

“Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation is focusing on issues of development and good life for Ekiti people among who are the obas.

“It is on record that Dr. Kayode Fayemi, few days ago, set up a high-power delegation to visit the obas in their palaces and the delegation has almost completed its assignment. The plan is that by the time the delegation completes the first round of visits, Fayemi will take the last lap of visits before the election.

“This is Fayemi that bought brand new cars for all the obas, rehabilitated their palaces, increased their allowances, instituted a free health service called “Ilera Laafin” for all the obas and never allowed the obas to stay in the sun for late hours waiting to receive him.”

“The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, who Fayose and his anointed son are defending today, suffered the humiliation of threat of dethronement. Oba Adejugbe Aladesanmi became the victim of ceaseless media attacks with Fayose setting various traps for the monarch to dethrone him.”

House Of Reps Justifies N578billion Hike In 2018 Budget.

....Blames executive for late passage of budget

Quote:The House of Representatives yesterday justified its decision to raise the budget estimates by N578 billion.

It also reiterated its stance not be subservient to the Executive on national budget preparation and approvals.

The House absolved itself of blame in the late passage of the budget. It blamed it all on the Executive.

In its reaction to President Muhammadu Buhari’s complaints while signing the 2018 Appropriation Act, the House said it is within its constitutional powers to alter the document.

The statement yesterday by its spokesman Abdulrazak Namdas, said it jacked up the 2018 budget because some of the projects designed by the executive did not meet the needs of the common man.

The lawmakers said the additional costs and projects to the budget were done in good faith for the sole purpose of improving the lives of Nigerians.

The statement reads: “The House of Representatives is appreciative of President Muhammadu Buhari in signing the 2018 Appropriation Bill into law and wish to make the following observations:

”That the budget is usually a proposal by the Executive to the National Assembly, which the latter is given the constitutional power of appropriation to alter, make additions, costs or reduce as it may deem necessary. The Legislature is not expected to be a rubber-stamp by simply approving the Executive proposals and returning the budget to Mr. President. Therefore, the additions Mr. President complained of in his speech are justifiable.

”We are on the same page with Mr. President in his desire to return our budget cycle to January-December. By the provisions of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007, the budget estimates should be with the National Assembly around September of the year. In the case of the 2018 budget, the estimates came behind schedule in November 2017, even though this attempt was seen as one of the earliest in recent years. Going forward, we urge the Executive to speed up the reporting time to the National Assembly by complying fully with the FRA.

”Besides, there were delays that should be blamed on the heads of MDAs. Mr. President will recall that he had to direct ministers and heads of agencies to go to the National Assembly to defend their proposals. This came after the National Assembly had persistently raised the alarm over the non-cooperative attitudes of these government officials. On this grounds, the delay in passing the budget cannot be blamed on the legislature.

”New projects in budget. On this aspect, we have to remind Mr. President that we are representatives of our people and wish to state that even the common man deserves a mention in the budget by including projects that will directly affect his life positively. Some of the projects designed by the executive, as high-sounding as their names suggest, do not meet the needs of the common man.

“National Assembly budget. Before 2015, the budget of the National Assembly was N150billion for several years. It was cut down to N120bn in 2015 and further down to N115bn in 2016. In 2017, the budget was N125bn and N139.5bn in 2018. This means that the budget of the National Assembly is still far below the N150bn in the years before 2015.”

Quote:The presidency Wednesday attributed the widespread killings in the country to the political enemies of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying they were the sponsors of the killing machines that have sent many Nigerians to their untimely graves.

According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who spoke on Arise TV, a THISDAY sister broadcast network, the president’s enemies resorted to the bestial act to discredit his scorecard on security, which he said was one of the three-prong plank Buhari ascended the presidency.

He stressed that the killings across the country were being instigated and sponsored by the opposition to weaken the incumbent government as much as possible.

The presidential spokesman said security agencies were investigating those behind the killings in the country, warning that once they were identified, they would be dealt with.

He also stated that the protests around the country over the killings were driven by political motives.

According to him, “You have the true herders and farmers who are clashing and you have hidden hostile hands who have crept in under that umbrella to play what the president has described as irresponsible politics.

“This farmers – herders’ clash has been going on for a long time. When I say long time, I mean far long before this administration. Like the president said, the issue is even older than anybody living today. What you have today are being sponsored because they know security is one of the strongest points of the administration.”

Adesina added: “The president said so in a national broadcast. He also said the security agencies are investigating and has warned that once they are identified, they will be dealt with. The intension of the opposition in any democracy is to weaken the incumbent as much as possible and the opposition in Nigeria has identified security as one of the strong points of the Buhari administration. So they decided to go to that area finding the soft under belly and stick a knife into it.”

He regretted that though people were being killed, adding that security should be the concern of everyone.

“When our president met United States President, Donald Trump, recently, even Trump said security is a collective thing,” he said, adding: “What we see in Nigeria is that people expect security to come from the top, rather it should be bottom up.”

On the need to allow for state police to address the security situation in the country, he said the president could not do it alone because it was a party matter.

He said the Buhari administration had improved the Nigerian economy, adding that the kind of change that Nigerians envisaged in certain areas would not come in the short term.

The presidential spokesman said government’s spending had created jobs and denied that more Nigerians had lost jobs as a result of Buhari’s policies.

He said: “Those statistics you have of unemployment are from white collar jobs that is not all that make an economy. We have a record of blue collar jobs. For example, rice farmers, when this administration came were only five million. As at today, they are over 12 million, that is seven million additional rice farmers. When you heard that Nigeria cut rice importation by 90 per cent, it was not just from the blues.”

Speaking about the economic growth of over six per cent that the country recorded before the administration of Buhari as against the 0.8 per cent today, he said Nigeria was running a bubble economy that was unsustainable.

“Now the foundation of the economy is being changed,” he said, adding: “If you look at the figures you will see what manufacturing has contributed, what agriculture is being contributed and what the solid minerals sector has contributed.”

He also denied that the electricity situation in the country was getting worse, saying: “Comparatively, it is not getting worse. If you had less than 3,000MW of electricity in 2015 and now you have over 7,000MW that is an improvement. When people say the power outages have been on for a long time, they mean far long before this administration.”

On the doubts over the Buhari’s health, Adesina contended that it is human nature to have doubts, adding that it was also human nature to express belief and faith.

In a related development, President Buhari Wednesday in Abuja said his administration’s commitment to rapid development of Nigeria goes beyond ethnicity, religion and geographical space.

The president, according to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, made this remark while receiving Sheikh Ahmed Tijjani Ibrahim Inyass, the Grand Khalifa of Tijjaniya, from Senegal at the Presidential Villa.

The statement said the president expressed the overwhelming support of Nigerians and their confidence in his administration and told the Sheikh that he was “very pleased with the prayers and support of the Tijjaniya for this administration”.

It quoted the president as saying: ‘‘I know you are praying for the stability and prosperity of this country,’’ adding that the president thanked the religious leader for the visit, saying it “underscored the importance of the religious group in promoting good governance in the country”.

The statement added that the Sheikh commended the president for what he described as the good job he’s doing in Nigeria, adding: ‘More than 40 million Tijjanyia’s are praying for your success because we believe the Almighty Allah has chosen you to lead Nigeria at this time and to actualise the dream of a great country.”

It also disclosed that the Grand Khalifa, who was in Nigeria to commiserate with the late Isyaku Rabiu family in Kano, paid tribute to the memory of Rabiu, describing him as a great man and nationalist who was dedicated to knowledge, Islam and prosperity of Nigeria.

It also said the Sheikh offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of the nation as well as the good health, wisdom, strength and success of the president.

"Nigeria Is In Big Problem!" - Doctor Olufunmilayo Harvey

Nigeria is in big problem” – UK-based Nigerian doctor warns
herald.ng Jun 15, 2018 11:18 AM

A UK-based Nigerian doctor, Dr Harvey Olufunmilayo, has decried the huge number of Nigerian doctors seeking greener pastures abroad.

Olufunmilayo, who practises in Leeds, said about 1,000 Nigerian doctors passed the Plab1 exam in March 2018 to enable them practice in the UK.

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) had in January 2018 said that there were 4,000 patients to one doctor in Nigeria, describing the trend as unacceptable.

Olufunmilayo, who took to his Twitter handle, explained that four million Nigerian patients would be denied access to a doctor should the 1,000 doctors leave Nigerian shores.

He said, “In March, about 1,500 doctors wrote the Plab1 exam to work in the UK and about 1,000 passed. In a country that 1 doctor cares for about 4,000 patients; losing 1,000 doctors means 4million Nigerians will find it harder to see a doctor. We are playing with fire as a nation.

“Remember this analysis is based solely on the March 2018 Plab Exams alone. The same exam is written twice a year in Nigeria. And with more hardship, more doctors will be writing by November 2018. And we are yet to talk of those going to other countries like USA or Canada.

“We have a big problem on our hands. There is a big fire burning and everyone is looking away thinking all is well. We largely have under-equipped hospitals with underpaid/overworked staff and overpopulated patients. Now with more health professionals’ exit, what will happen?

“Have we decided that we will wait till our hospitals turn to museums with antique outdated equipments that has no professional to utilise them for sick and dying patients before we realise the grave danger associated with this continuous exit of medical workers from the country?

“I was having a chat with a younger colleague friend preparing for the exam. She’s part of a WhatsApp group that is already full to the brim – with 256 doctors preparing to take the same exams to leave the country. And she said she knows at least 2 of such full groups. Oh Lord!

“My people, let’s be clear – doctors are working on their exit on a daily basis. This fire we are ignoring, when it burns, and it wil, no one will be spared. Even if you are rich, even if you are powerful, someone you know will fall victim of this same health sector you are destroying.

“And as I stated earlier, 1 Nigerian doctor should take care of 4000 Nigerians. Losing 1,000 doctors (based on the March 2018 Plab UK exams alone) is effectively making it extremely difficult for 4 million Nigerians to see a doctor. How are you in government and comfortable with this?

“And if you are a government official and you are thinking you have the money and/or the means to always take care of yourself or your family in some overseas country if you fall sick, then let me explain to you why that reasoning is slow and very daft. Because sadly, it really is.

“There are medical calamities that befall a person and requires immediate intervention. If you have a sudden heart attack or a serious stroke or severe sepsis, such an emergency can’t wait for you to get on a private jet. You will be taken to the same hospitals that you ruined.

“I don’t need to mention names but many government officials have also been rushed to the same under-equipped hospitals with underpaid unmotivated staff, and those your colleagues in government died from things that could be easily prevented IF you ever paid any attention to the health sector.”

PDP Will Return To Power In 2019 - Jonathan, Atiku Says
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 09:30 AM - No Replies

Quote:Former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would return to power in 2019.

They said the party is getting stronger.

They spoke with journalists when the ex-President hosted Atiku at his home in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

On PDP chances in 2019, Jonathan said in a statement issued by his spokesman, Ilechukwu Eze, that the party is better poised to win next year’s presidential election.

He said: “Yes, we had some issues in 2015. But as you know politics is a very dynamic business. I believe PDP is coming back and getting stronger.

“Even though we are in the opposition with fewer governors, PDP is still the strongest and largest party in the country.”

Jonathan said he was pleased that the former Vice President who came to Bayelsa to commission State Government projects paid him a visit.

The ex-President said he had enjoyed a long relationship with Atiku, beginning from his time as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

Atiku insisted that only the PDP has the strength and structure to win the presidential election in 2019.

He said: “It is actually the PDP that has the strength and structure to get back to Aso Rock. There is no other party that has the structure and strength like the PDP. Without PDP, APC should not have been in Aso Rock.”

Asari Mangeta Dumps PDP For APC In Bayelsa
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 09:28 AM - No Replies

Asari Mangeta, Governor Seriake Dickson’s Special Adviser on Grassroots Mobilisation on Wednesday defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that his Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Ibarakumo Otobo, has also resigned.

Mangeta was received by the executive committee of APC at the party secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa capital.

He explained that he left the PDP government because he was denied the right to express his political ideals and add value to the society.

“I am a politician with a passion for service to the people”, Mangeta said.

“They know that I am an asset, they lured me with an appointment but after the elections there was no enabling environment for me to perform.

“So, I have resolved to pitch my tent with APC.”

Speaking, State Chairman of APC, Mr Jothan Amos, noted that the party would take over the state come 2020.

Amos described the sack of 28,000 civil servants in the ongoing public service reforms at a time of economic hardship as regrettable.

“The way the government carried the reforms shows that they lacked ideas and are not capable of managing reforms.

“How can you finish sacking workers and then start holding town hall meetings when the town hall meetings should have been held before reforms,” he said.

A lawmaker, Mr Israel Goli, representing Brass 1 constituency, represented ex-Gov. Timipre Sylva.

He noted that APC would replicate its performance at the federal level in Bayelsa and transform it.

Budget: Buhari Lists Projects From Which Cuts Were Made
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 06-21-2018, 09:27 AM - No Replies

Quote:Buhari lists projects from which cuts were made.

President Muhammmadu Buhari Wednesday signed the 2018 budget and decried that lawmakers made cuts amounting to N347 billion in the allocations to 4,700 projects he submitted for consideration and introduced 6,403 projects of their own amounting to N578 billion.

The National Assembly had on May 16 passed the 2018 Appropriation Bill, increasing the proposal of N8.612 trillion presented by President Buhari last December to N9.120 trillion.

While signing the budget at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari noted that he had intend to use the fiscal document to consolidate the achievements of previous budgets and deliver on Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017-2020.

He said it was in that regard that he was concerned about some of the changes that the National Assembly had made to the budget proposals he presented.
While expressing concerns over some changes introduced into the 2018 budget by the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, listed the examples of projects from which cuts were made.

He listed them as follows:

a The provisions for some nationally/regionally strategic infrastructure projects such as Counter-part funding for the Mambilla Power Plant, Second Niger Bridge/ancillary roads, the East-West Road, Bonny-Bodo Road, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and Itakpe-Ajaokuta Rail Project were cut by an aggregate of 11.5 billion Naira.

b. Similarly, provisions for some ongoing critical infrastructure projects in the FCT, Abuja especially major arterial roads and the mass transit rail project, were cut by a total of 7.5 billion Naira.

c. The provision for Rehabilitation and Additional Security Measures for the United Nations Building by the FCT, Abuja was cut by 3.9 billion Naira from 4 billion Naira to 100 million Naira; this will make it impossible for the Federal Government of Nigeria to fulfill its commitment to the United Nations on this project.

d. The provisions for various Strategic Interventions in the health sector such as the upgrade of some tertiary health institutions, transport and storage of vaccines through the cold chain supply system, provision of anti-retroviral drugs for persons on treatment, establishment of chemotherapy centres and procurement of dialysis consumables were cut by an aggregate amount of 7.45 billion Naira.

e. The provision for security infrastructure in the 104 Unity Schools across the country were cut by 3 billion Naira at a time when securing our students against acts of terrorism ought to be a major concern of government.

f. The provision for the Federal Government’s National Housing Programme was cut by 8.7 billion Naira.

g. At a time when we are working with Labour to address compensation-related issues, a total of 5 billion Naira was cut from the provisions for Pension Redemption Fund and Public Service Wage Adjustment.

h. The provisions for Export Expansion Grant (EEG) and Special Economic Zones/Industrial Parks, which are key industrialization initiatives of this Administration, were cut by a total of 14.5 billion Naira.

i. The provision for Construction of the Terminal Building at Enugu Airport was cut from 2 billion Naira to 500 million Naira which will further delay the completion of this critical project.

j. The Take-off Grant for the Maritime University in Delta State, a key strategic initiative of the Federal Government, was cut from 5 billion Naira to 3.4 billion Naira.

k. About seventy (70) new road projects have been inserted into the budget of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing. In doing so, the National Assembly applied some of the additional funds expected from the upward review of the oil price benchmark to the Ministry’s vote. Regrettably, however, in order to make provision for some of the new roads, the amounts allocated to some strategic major roads have been cut by the National Assembly."

The president said another area of concern was the increase by the National Assembly of the provisions for Statutory Transfers by an aggregate of N73.96 billion, adding that "Most of these increases are for recurrent expenditure at a time we are trying to keep down the cost of governance.
"An example of this increase is the budget of the National Assembly itself which has increased by N14.5 billion, from N125 billion to N139.5 billion without any discussion with the executive."

He said despite all these observations, he had decided to sign the 2018 budget in order not to further slowdown the pace of recovery of the economy which, he noted, had doubtlessly been affected by the delay in passing the budget.

Soldier Killed Along With 8 Colleagues After Boko Haram Ambush In Borno. Photo

Here's a picture of a soldier who was killed along with eight others after being attacked at Gajiram, Borno state. According to reports, troops from 242 battalion Nigerian Army stationed at Gajiram, some 80 kilometres (50 miles) north of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri, came under attack on Monday afternoon.

The Borno state police initially said its officers and soldiers “engaged the terrorists and promptly repelled the attack”. “There was no casualty on the side of the police,” it added.

But military communications seen by AFP said nine soldiers were classed as “KIA” — killed in action — while two others were “WIA” — wounded in action.

Locals said they had seen between 10 and 12 Boko Haram fighters being loaded into vehicles but it was not clear how many were dead or injured, it added.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 21ST JUNE.

A PURE LANGUAGE OF THE SPIRIT.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also (1 Corinthians 14:14-15).

No matter how many earthly languages exist, there’re not enough words in the human vocabulary with which to adequately and accurately express yourself to God. Our human earthly vocabulary isn’t pure enough to commune with the holy God that our heavenly Father is. That’s the reason the Holy Spirit gave us a language, pure and holy, with which to communicate in a way that’s acceptable to God: praying in other tongues.

Many only know how to pray in their understanding; that is, in their native language, but that won’t take you far enough. No matter how beautiful your words are in any earthly language, and how loaded with revelation they are, they’re no match for the pure language of the Spirit.

It’s for this reason that Paul, by the Spirit, penned the words we read in the latter part of our opening verse. Notice that praying with the spirit comes before praying with the understanding. Sadly, some Christians would rather pray with their understanding first, and then pray with the spirit, if they do pray in the spirit at all. They’ve made praying with the spirit the “also,” and that’s the wrong order.

Before you pray with your understanding, pray intensely and profusely first with the spirit. In fact, your praying in the understanding would be more effectual if you’d pray first with the spirit. And praying with the spirit doesn’t mean shutting your eyes and being mute, hoping that somehow, God’s looking into your sincere heart to know what you want; no. It means praying in tongues; praying in the language of the Spirit—a divine coded language. Your mind can’t interpret what you’re saying, but in the realm of the spirit, you’re speaking mysteries.

The devil and his cohorts of darkness are confounded when we pray in other tongues, for it’s an esoteric language for our direct communication with our heavenly Father. What a privilege and blessing to be able to access and speak forth divine mysteries and secrets from the realm of the Spirit. Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the blessing and privilege of being able to speak in tongues. My life is excellent and full of glory because of the awesome ministry of the Holy Spirit in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.

Jude 1:20 AMPC But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [[d]make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;

21ST JUNE.

I affirm that I am God’s choice and He has granted me insight and foresight into the realities of the Kingdom. I am rooted and grounded in the Word; therefore, I am immune to failure or defeat.
My way is paved by the Lord; I walk in preordained pathways, conscious of my calling as a minister of reconciliation.
My mind is anointed to think the “God-kind” of thoughts. As I meditate on God’s Word, I build a wealth of thoughts that keep me in the arena of glory, health, and prosperity, causing me to live the best life here on earth. I am full of the Spirit. Hallelujah!
I have received not the spirit of this world, but the spirit, which is of God; that I may know the things that are freely given unto me of God. Which things also I speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches. Hallelujah!
I am a Joint-heir with Christ; the seed of Abraham and the whole world belongs to me. Nothing is permitted to happen to me by chance! Everywhere I go, I make things happen. I am not the poor trying to get rich but I am the rich discovering what belongs to me in Christ Jesus. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

Thirty four Nigerians were on Wednesday afternoon deported from the United States of America (USA) for "minor offences".

The deportees comprise 32 males and two females who insisted that they did not commit major offences in the US before being sent back to Nigeria.

They were returned to the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, aboard a chartered Omni Air International Boeing 767 aircraft.

The aircraft landed on the 18Right of the runway at exactly 14:35pm.

Speaking exclusively to SaharaReporters on behalf of the others, Mr. Olusegun Olatunji, who claimed to have resided in the US for 30 years, accused the US government of illegally deporting him from the country.

He said the only offence he committed was importing herbs, which the US government claimed was counterfeit, from China into the US.

He declared that he was sanctioned with $41,000 for importing the herbs, which he paid, but to his surprise he was still deported alongside others.

Olatunji added that most of the deportees committed traffic offences or overstayed in the US, among other minor offences, which should not have ordinarily warranted their deportation. He lamented that the US government claimed some of them were drug couriers.

He further expressed sadness that in spite of the fact that some of them challenged their impending deportation and had their cases ongoing, they were still deported like major criminals.

“I have been in the US in the past 30 years. Most of us were deported for overstaying visas and some of us have been in the US for years," he said.

"Most of us did not commit any felony or major offences; some of us went to jail for minor offences. Even for traffic offence, you are being deported and a few offences. But they now claimed that we were drug dealers, which is not true.

“I would have spent 30 years in the US by October 18. I have been in the US without any infraction. The only infraction I have was that I ordered merchandise from China, herbs, and they claimed the herbs were counterfeit. That was my so-called offence and I was ordered to pay $41,000, which I paid to the government. They still confiscated the merchandise after paying the sum; despite this, they still deported me. I have never committed any infraction in the US apart from importing these herbs from China.

“Most of us here have cases in different courts in the US, but the government did not allow us to see the resolution of the case. They just took us by force and deported us from the US. This is quite unfortunate.”
