I Have 90% Of The Governors On My Side, Only 1 Or 2 Are Unhappy~Oshiomole
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 10-22-2018, 10:48 PM - No Replies

Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), says only one or two governors of the party are not comfortable with him remaining in office.

Oshiomhole said this while fielding questions from state house correspondents on the plot to oust him.

THISDAY had reported that 15 of the 21 governors of the APC have finalised the plot to remove him and are about forcing a national executive committee (NEC) meeting where he will be unseated.

But Oshiomhole said he had over 90 percent members of the party on his side.

He said the governors who were not impressed with his style fell out with him because he insisted on following due process.

“One governor has publicly said he will ensure that I am removed. That’s fine.  The beauty of democracy is that one or two may say something but the majority is what matters,” he said.

“But even those two, if they reflect deeply, they’ll know that what I have done is to stubbornly insist that the rules must be obeyed. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Oshiomhole spoke shortly after Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun state, accused him and some leaders of the party of hijacking the primaries in Ogun.

Abdulaziz Yari, governor of Zamfara, had accused Oshiomhole of acting like a mini-god.

Afdb Approves $50m Credit Facility For Fidelity Bank
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-22-2018, 08:23 PM - No Replies

The African Development Bank has approved a US$50 million line of credit to Nigeria’s Fidelity Bank Plc to support small and medium-sized, and women-owned enterprises in selected transformative sectors.

The credit will also accommodate close to 100 SMEs in manufacturing, health and education.

According to a statement by AfDB, the credit was approved by the bank’s board on October 10, 2018, and the facility is fully dedicated to financing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a minimum of 30 per cent going to women-owned enterprises.

The statement read: "The loan will enhance Fidelity Bank’s liquidity and help meet the demand for medium-term funding to players in the target sectors, contributing to improved quality of lives, job and wealth creation and tax-revenue generation.

"The facility complements the Nigerian government's long-term development strategy, as espoused in its Vision 20:2020 agenda. Aligned with Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan 2017-2020 (ERPG), the AfDB noted that the funding will ultimately boost enterprise competitiveness and expand Nigeria’s economic base. The ERPG seeks to stimulate Nigeria’s economic growth, catalyse macroeconomic stability, foster diversification of the economy, and enhance social inclusion as well as governance.

"SMEs account for 30 per cent of Fidelity Bank’s loan portfolio. The selection of the tier 2 Nigerian bank for this seven-year credit facility (with a grace period of two years) is based on its strong niche presence in the SME and mid-sized corporates space. It is also in recognition of the bank’s credit management and strong track record with the African Development Bank. The Nigerian lender has previously received US$18 million and US$75 million lines of credit from the development finance institution in 2001 and 2013, respectively."

Ebrima Faal, Senior Director, Nigeria Country Office at the African Development Bank, was quoted as saying: “Fidelity Bank is a niche player, focused on the SME space and this US$50 million credit line will contribute to strengthening its presence in its key market segments. The Nigerian financial institution also continues to meet its ongoing credit obligations under the terms of previous support received from the African Development Bank".

The statement continued: "The line of credit to the Nigerian financial institution is consistent with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy (2013–2022). It also aligns with two of its High 5 priorities – Industrialize Africa and Improve the quality of life for the people of Africa.

"Founded in 1987, Fidelity Bank Plc has grown from its marginal position into a stable banking institution. Currently the 10th largest commercial bank in Nigeria by asset size, it was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in May 2005. It has a broad client base of about four million customers nationwide, served from a network of over 240 branches and business offices, supported by alternative service delivery channels like ATMs, mobile and electronic banking, and agency banking channels.

"Following its renewed digital banking and retail drive, Fidelity Bank was ranked 4th best bank in Nigeria in the retail market segment in the KPMG Banking Industry Customer Satisfaction Survey (BICSS) in 2017."

Rivers APC Reacts To Supreme Court Judgment, Calls It Mere Academic Exercise
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-22-2018, 08:21 PM - No Replies

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has reacted to today's judgment by the Supreme on the crises rocking the state chapter of the party in a matter brought before the apex court involving 23 aggrieved members of the party who alleged that they were unduly excluded from the party congresses.

In a swift reaction by the State Spokesperson of the APC in Rivers State, Chris Finebone, the Supreme Court Judgment was described as a mere academic exercise.

Finebone insisted that the Supreme Court did not set aside the congresses and primaries of the party.

The full statement obtained by Suanu's Blog reads below:

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, would like to state, for the avoidance of doubt, that the appeal filed at the Supreme Court by Ibrahim Umar & 22 ors of which the ruling was given today, 3 issues were canvassed before the Supreme Court one of which was that the Appeal Court did not act correctly by granting a stay of execution on the interlocutory orders of the State High Court. The Supreme Court agreed with them. However, the Supreme Court did not make pronouncements on the other issues since the State High Court had already given final judgment on them, an action that has left the present development a mere academic exercise.

The Supreme Court only granted the appeal in parts and did not make any consequential orders as that can only be subject matter at the Appeal Court when the appeal hearing of the State High Court judgment commences.

According to Counsel to APC, "The Supreme Court today allowed the appellant appeal which was against the stay of Order of Injunction of 11/05/2018.The Court said the said order should not have been stayed. The Supreme Court made no orders except to set aside the Court of Appeal order. That clears the way for hearing of the main appeal at Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt against the judgment of the High Court. Their prayer that Supreme Court should hear the pending appeal at Court of Appeal was rejected .The appeal is to be heard and determined by Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt."

It is important for APC faithful to ignore the raging propaganda by detractors that the Supreme Court set aside congresses and primaries of the party in Rivers State. That is a big lie from the pit of hell.

As things stand, all pending appeals at the Appeal Court are proceeding apace with some ongoing today. Furthermore, appeal and stay of the final judgment of the State High Court given on the 10th of October are being perfected and hearing will commence thereafter.

We call on all APC members to remain steadfast and refuse to be distracted as ultimate victory is assured. Those claiming victory and dancing in the streets are doing so either out of ignorance or out to deceive others".

Meanwhile, members of the Senator Magnus Abe led faction of the APC has been thrown celebration over the news of the Supreme Court Judgment which they interpret to be in their best interest.
Many of the supporters Abe, who is a frontline governorship aspirant tropped out to his campaign office in Portharcout this afternoon to celebrate the judgment with him.

PDP Demands Joe Igbokwe’s Arrest, Prosecution
User Avatar Forum: News

By Temidayo Akinsuyi

The Peoples Democratic Party, Lagos state chapter, has raised the alarm over the alleged plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC), never to hand over power to the PDP, especially in Lagos state if they lose in the forthcoming general elections.

According to the Lagos State PDP, the APC which is now obviously politically haemorrhage and cannot survive the 2019 governorship election in Lagos state is now concluding its plans to use INEC, security agencies, thugs, identified election observers and ‘activists’ who are APC apologists to rig the 2019 general elections in Lagos state.

Defending the assertions, the PDP referred to the statement credited to Mr Joe Igbokwe, Lagos APC spokesman, that Buhari will never hand over power to Atiku as not only undemocratic & provocative but indeed a pre election rigging plan that should interest the relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute Mr Igbokwe.

“The Lagos APC is terminally divided and cannot win any election in the state. We had garnered information from different sources indicating that the APC is not willing to let go the control of Lagos State in particular. So much that the Party leaders in Lagos at one of their meetings analysed that keeping only Lagos state is worth more than having all other southwest states. Thus the desperation and frustration exposed by Mr Igbokwe has confirmed our information and vindicated our assertions that the APC has never won any fair elections in the state.

“We will mobilise all legal means and supports to seriously resist this plan to rig us out in 2019. Interestingly, the confessions of the APC leaders that Governor Ambode has neglected and not funding party structures account for why the sitting governor has been rejected for a second term. Invariably, any State development without funding APC leaders is not welcomed by the APC.

Indeed Lagosians now know that the APC in Lagos state think more of themselves than the inhabitants. That the APC is only interested in sharing state funds amongst themselves. Such party cannot be trusted with public funds and no doubt Lagosians will reject them in 2019”
Meanwhile, the PDP warns that the APC will be held responsible for any attack on any of her candidates.

A woman's eyes have been removed after being attacked by suspected ritualists on her farm in Plateau state.

It was gathered that the shocking incident happened at Kunga village in Jos North local government area of the State after the grandmother went out to her farm to look for what she will eat and also fetch some firewood.

According to David Ayuba, on her way back home, the aged woman met some people who offered to assist her but she declined because she was reportedly scared of them.

The two men allegedly forced her down and injected her with an unknown substance.

According to the grandmother, she didn't know what happened afterwards, but she woke up to realise that her two eyes have been removed by the two men apparently.

The woman who says she's lucky she was not killed in the process - is currently at University of Jos Teaching Hospital undergoing treatment.

Prophet Arrested For Staging The Kidnap Of His Church Members. Photo

Posted by: Edoman - 10-22-2018, 08:14 PM - No Replies

The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended and paraded a 48 year-old man, Prophet Godwin Ayenuberun, for faking the kidnap of two of his church members and allegedly received one hundred and fifty thousand naira for spiritual protection.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, disclosed this in Akure while parading the suspected prophet and his acolyte, Ibukun Adetigha, alongside other suspects for various offences.

The police Commissioner recounted that a victim, Segun Omosaye from Okitipupa was previously kidnapped by unknown gunmen on November 30, last year but regained his freedom a month after.

According to Mr Adeyanju, the Prophet, who is also the Founder of Gethsemane Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Igbokoda in Ilaje local government area of the state had claimed that he saw a vision that the victim would be abducted before the incident but intelligence report said the clergyman allegedly masterminded the crime against his church members.

Adeyanju recounted that the victim, Segun Omosaye from Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa LGA of the state, was previously kidnapped by unknown gunmen on November 30, 2017 but regained his freedom a month after.

He said Omosaye received  a text message on September 26, 2018 from his abductors, who admitted the previous abduction, informing him that they would come back to kidnap him again and kill him.

According to him, the Prophet, who is also the Founder of Gethsemane Cherubim Church in Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje LGA, had claimed he saw a vision that the victim would be abducted before the incident.

“On receipt of his complaint, detectives swung into action and through intelligence gathering, arrested one Ibukun Adetigha and Prophet Godwin Ayenugha, a founder of a church in Igbokoda.

“The Techno handset that was used in sending text messages was recovered from them. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to have sent the text messages but denied their involvement in the abduction of the victim,” he said.

The police boss, who assured that all the suspects would be charged to court soon, added that the prophet was the spiritual father of the victims but denied any involvement in the abduction.

Man Trying To Separate Fight Stabbed To Death In Ogun State
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 10-22-2018, 03:59 PM - No Replies

Quote:A peacemaker, identified simply as Christian, has been stabbed to death in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, while trying to settle a quarrel over N200 bottle of beer between a beer parlour operator, Temitope Adedayo, and a customer, Taiwo Olatokunbo.

Twenty-three-year-old Olatokunbo allegedly stabbed Christian to death during the quarrel.

The suspect was said to have been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command.

Olatokunbo reportedly went to the beer parlour on Ijagun Road, Ijebu Ode, on Saturday, and ordered for a bottle of beer, but refused to pay.

Olatokunbo’s refusal to pay was said to have led to an argument with the beer parlour operator.

Christian had wanted to settle the matter.

The intervention reportedly infuriated Olatokunbo, who allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed Christian.

The victim was rushed to the Ijebu Ode General Hospital, where he died.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident.

A report reaching Suanu's Blog has it that he Supreme Court of Nigeria has set aside the ruling of the Court of Appeal staying further execution of the Order of Interlocutory Injunction restraining the All Progressives Congress, APC, from conducting further congresses in Rivers State.

The apex court said allowing APC to retain the outcome of the latter Congresses it conducted would amount to a reward for disobedience.

"How can they ask and be granted a stay of execution of an order they flagrantly disobeyed? The court does not exist to bless the disobedience of those who do no regard and respect it".
"The Supreme Court cannot allow people to benefit from their own stupidity," Supreme Court ruled.

Suanu's Blog recalls that Ibrahim Umar and 22 others loyal to Senator Magnus Abe, a frontline governorship candidate under the platform of the APC has dragged the party to court over their unlawful exclusion from the APC congresses that heard in the state.

By this judgment, all actions previously taken by the Hon.Ojukaye Flag Amachree led state executive of the party may just have been thrown into nullity including all candidates for elective offices in the 2019 General Elections.

Ben Brako Poses Nude With Wife, Gives Reasons

Veteran Ghanaian singer Ben Brako just some few days back, posted semi-nude photos of himself and his wife on social media. The photo, which shows the couple hugging, was, however, received with mixed reactions by sections of the public.

The photo was captioned:

“To Kofi Nyaako, and others who only see this as titillation and unclothedness instead of the beauty, artistry and African high culture that it truly represents, this is for you as well.”

However, after receiving several backlashes, the 66-year-old musician posted an explanation for the photo.

He wrote:

Quote:“Seems some people have not followed the sequence of events that led to me posting a picture of me and my wife in an intimate pose. "First I posted a beautiful picture of my wife in a classy traditional pose.

Somebody suggested that I was like exploiting the feminism of my wife, and that I should post a shot of myself in a similar setting. I obliged only because I wanted it known that I'm comfortable in myself to project images that reflect my heritage in a tasty setting.

"Let me be clear. In an era where we're so mixed up in our mentality that we accept English as our national language, where our national anthem is an English song with English lyrics, where our people are obliged to dress like foreigners to work and play, it is important that someone stands up to declare that our heritage and culture have an important place in our national discourse and should have the pride of place in our lives.

"This I'm doing in my own unobtrusive way which I'm very comfortable with. If even one young person gets inspired by this it would have been worthwhile. I have always loved natural poses a la Baya album photo.

I as an African man of Ghanaian descent am portraying myself in a way I'm comfortable and happy with. If you are not happy with that, fine. Don't go take a flying jump, but if you did I would not stop you."

PoliticsNGR has reliably gathered that a Fracas has broken out at the Edo state house of assembly after the impeachment of Deputy Speaker, Victor Edoror.

Gunmen invaded the Edo State House of Assembly after it became clear that there were moves to also impeach the Speaker of the House, Hon Kabiru Adjoto.

A heavy fight erupted at the Edo State House of Assembly after the gunmen suspected to be political loyal thugs invaded the Assembly complex, chasing away some lawmakers, and shooting sporadically in the air.

As at the time of filing this report, three persons have been injured in the brawl, and two lawmakers of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), M. D. Igbas and Hon Iluobe were seen running for their lives with their security personnel.

Meanwhile, Edoro has replaced with former speaker, Justine Okonoboh, before moves to impeach the Speaker were initiated.

3 earthquakes measuring between 6.5- and 6.8-magnitude hit off Vancouver Island
[Image: screen-shot-2018-10-21-at-11-40-25-pm.png?w=450]Three earthquakes measured at magnitudes of anywhere between 6.5 and 6.8 struck off Vancouver Island on Sunday night.

They hit about 200 kilometres west of the island, according to Natural Resources Canada (NRC).
A 6.5-magnitude quake hit at 10:39 p.m., a 6.8-magnitude quake at 11:16 p.m. and another 6.5-magnitude quake at 11:22 p.m., it said.
[Image: WEB_Legis_Shakeup_tnb_1.jpg?w=298&quality=70&strip=all]
One of the quakes, which was measured at a magnitude of 6.5, hit approximately 200 kilometres from the Vancouver Island community of Port Alice on Sunday night.
The 6.8-magnitude quake is believed to have struck just under 200 kilometres west of Port Alice.
There were no reports of damage, and “none would be expected,” according to NRC.
The earthquake’s location was pegged at 208 kilometres west-southwest of Port Alice, and 478 kilometres west of Vancouver.
The quake happened at a depth of approximately 10 kilometres and no tsunami was expected.
Nor were there any reports of the quake having been felt.
Though the quake may seem large compared to other events that have hit the West Coast of North America in recent years, it was far from the biggest.
Earlier this year, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake hit just under 600 kilometres south of Anchorage, triggering a tsunami that was less than a foot high.
Historically, the largest of quakes measuring at a magnitude of five or more near B.C. happened in 1970, when an event hit a magnitude of 7.4, according to Natural Resources Canada.

Canada Post union workers to begin rotating nationwide strikes Monday morning

[Image: canadapost43.jpg?w=320&quality=70&strip=all]
The union representing Canada Post workers announced Sunday that it would begin rotating strikes on Monday morning in Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor and Halifax if a last-minute deal is not reached Sunday evening.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) announced Sunday that it will begin rotating strikes on Monday morning at 12:01 a.m. in Victoria, Edmonton and Windsor, and at 1:01 a.m. in Halifax.

According to the union, the strike will last for 24 hours with each location listed striking daily. All times listed are in local time. A strike may still be avoided if last-minute deals are reached Sunday evening, CUPW said in a statement.
[Image: TMS_PANEL_OCT19_848x480_1348187203568.jp...&strip=all]
“Canada Post had the opportunity this weekend to stop any postal disruption on Monday, but instead, as they have for almost a year, they refused to talk about the issues that matter to our members,” says Mike Palecek, CUPW national president, in a statement released to media.
CUPW gave Canada Post until the end of the weekend (Oct. 20 and 21) to reach an agreement and avoid the union’s strike action.
“Our goal has always been a negotiated settlement, but we will not agree to anything that doesn’t address health and safety, gender equality and good, full-time middle-class jobs,” Palecek continued.
Global News reached out to Canada Post for comment, who confirmed that Canada post remains operations across the country, and will be accepting and delivering packages in all locations not listed on the strike notice. In Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor and Halifax, mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up.
“Canada Post remains committed to the bargaining process and has a significant offer on the table that includes increased wages, job security, improved benefits and contains no concessions. We have also addressed many of the concerns raised by the union and offered to work together constructively to find solutions,” Canada Post’s statement read.
There are a number of tensions lingering between Canada Post and the union at the moment, primarily letter carrier health and safety and precarious employment, Global News previously reported. The statement adds that additional issues include ending “forced overtime,” and “overburdening,” service expansion and equality for RSMCs.
The union’s release also states that it’s been negotiating agreements with Canada Post for almost a year for the Urban Postal Operations and Rural Suburban Mail Carriers (RSMC) bargaining units.
Canada Post warns that customers may experience minor delays as a result of the strike, though negotiations remain ongoing.

Razak Atunwa Skipped NYSC, Forged Certificate - Premium Times
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-22-2018, 11:49 AM - No Replies

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State in the forthcoming general elections, Razak Atunwa, did not participate in Nigeria’s compulsory national youth service scheme, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report today.

Instead, he procured a forged discharge certificate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) which he submitted to the PDP to prove his eligibility for public office.

The fresh revelation about Mr Atunwa came about four months after PREMIUM TIMES exposed then finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, for engaging in similar conduct, and just a little over a month since the embattled official was forced to resign as a result of the scandal.

The Kwara politician’s conduct also came to light exactly a month after this medium reported that the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, also dodged the compulsory service, making him ineligible for public office and employment in Nigeria.

Although the minister was later disqualified by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) from running for governorship of his native Oyo State, President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to remove him from office.

The NYSC law requires every Nigerian who attended university or polytechnic to participate in the national youth scheme for one year after graduation, provided the person finished before age 30. Failure to serve would prohibit such individual from gainful employment in Nigeria, and making false claims about serving could attract up to 14 years in jail.

Also, anyone who graduated before 30 but deliberately declined to serve has committed a crime that could attract 12-month imprisonment, even if the person did not forge NYSC documents.

Only a person who obtained a degree after 30 or served in the military or won national honours medal would qualify for exemption certificate under the NYSC law.

Mr Atunwa, born on October 17, 1969, said he studied law at the University of East London, graduating in 1992 at age 23.

Having earned a bachelor’s degree at 23, Mr Atunwa, going by Section 2 of the NYSC Act, should have participated in the year-long national service.

THE AUDACIOUS FORGERY

But rather than present himself for national service, Mr. Atunwa stayed back in the United Kingdom, returning only in 2005 to join the cabinet of then Governor Bukola Saraki in Kwara State at the age of 36.

Between 2005 and 2010 when he stepped down to run for office, the politician was commissioner at four different ministries, including Land and Housing, Works and Transport, Information and Home Affairs and Finance.

It was not immediately clear whether or not Mr Atunwa presented any NYSC document to authorities since 2005 when he was first appointed commissioner, 2011 when he became speaker and 2015 when he became member of the House of Representatives.

But to secure the PDP governorship ticket on October 1, he submitted a counterfeit NYSC discharge certificate and accompanied it with an affidavit, indicating he lied on oath, an offence that attracts up to 14 years in jail.

Mr Atunwa — who claimed he qualified for law practice in the United Kingdom after obtaining undergraduate and master’s degrees at separate universities in London — indicated in the nomination document he submitted at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja that he partook in the youth service scheme between 1995 and 1996.

The lawmaker, who is chair of the House Committee on Justice, then accompanied it with a notarised affidavit sworn at the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin on September 10. The document was attached to his PDP expression of interest form.

He signed the document despite a clause indicating he remained automatically disqualified as candidate if any statement or information he provided is found to be false, inaccurate, or mislead the party or its agents from making proper assessment of his competence to contest the governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It remains to be seen if the PDP will enforce its own rule and disqualify him as a result of this revelation. Governorship elections are scheduled to hold February 2019.

One could see at first glance that Mr. Atunwa’s so-called discharge certificate is fake.

For one, Mr Atunwa’s ‘certificate’ purportedly obtained in 1996 carried the signature of Walter Oki (brigadier general at the time). But Mr Oki was only made NYSC director-general in 2002. In 1996, Soyemi Sofoluwe (brigadier general) was director-general of the corps and signed all discharge and exemption certificates during the period. He was succeeded by S.M. Dule (brigadier general), who served as director-general between 1996 and 2000.

To further crosscheck the authenticity of Mr Atunwa’s ‘certificate’, PREMIUM TIMES compared his with original ones that bore the basics of the document, especially those from foreign university graduates.

At least three ministers who returned to Nigeria to serve after finishing from schools in the UK and the United States had similar call-up mark in their certificates, which usually carries the acronym of the institution, the state where the participant served, where the person was called up, the year of service and the serial number for the certificate.

For instance, Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for petroleum, has his NYSC certificate marked as NYSC/OY/FORN/82/7101. Mr Kachikwu was deployed for service in Oyo State (OY) on August 16, 1982, passing out a year later on August 15, 1983. He came back to Nigeria to serve after completing his doctorate in law at Harvard University (FORN) in December 1981.

Aisha Abubakar, the minister of state trade and industry, returned to Nigeria after concluding her masters in development studies at the University of Leeds. Her certificate is marked NYSC/LA/FRN/91/18170, indicating that she served in Lagos, after graduating from a foreign university.

Khadija Bukar Ibrahim, the minister of state foreign affairs, also schooled abroad. She attended Roehampton Institute for Higher Education, affiliated with the University of Surrey and finished in 1989. She enlisted in the NYSC on October 2, 1990 and passed out on October 1, 1991. Her certificate is marked NYSC/LA/FRN/90/28750, indicating that she served in Lagos (LA) after graduating from a foreign university (FRN) in 1990.

However, Mr. Atunwa’s certificate, rather than bear FRN or FORN (code for foreign graduates) has KWP (a code reserved for graduates of Kwara State Polytechnic) as identification mark. But the politician did not graduate from Kwara Polytechnic. He claimed he attended the University of East London for the first degree and the University of London for his master’s.

“This is the most audacious forgery since PREMIUM TIMES began investigation into NYSC claims of senior government officials and politicians generally,” Liborous Oshoma, a Lagos-based legal practitioner, told PREMIUM TIMES Sunday afternoon.

Mr Oshoma said Mr Atunwa appeared to have broken Nigerian law twice.

“Based on Section 13 © of the NYSC Act, even being in possession of a forged NYSC certificate is already a crime,” Mr Oshoma said. “And then we now have an affidavit that he swore to and walked himself into perjury, another criminal offence.”

Mr Oshoma said Mr Atunwa’s case was more unfortunate for Nigeria.

“You could say Kemi Adeosun did not know some people gave her fake document, and Mr Shittu was being exuberant, but this particular case is very troubling,” the lawyer said. “He knew of those recent cases and still went on to do it.

“This is amongst the consequences of the president’s failure to act on time or act at all on the already uncovered cases. Since the former finance minister was able to escape from the country without prosecution and the communications minister remains in office despite being found not to be qualified for the job, this man could easily dismiss any legal ramifications of his action,” he added.

“Since it has now come to the fore that if you graduated before 30, either from a Nigerian university or abroad, you know you do not qualify for exemption and you must serve and if you forge your document you would be exposed, I would have expected that all those who schooled abroad would start investigating whether the NYSC document they were given was genuine or not. There is no hiding place anymore.”

India opens Sabarimala temple to women who menstruate

[Image: WED_INDIA_THUMB_171018.jpg?w=320&quality=70&strip=all]
Hundreds of police guarded the main gateway to an Indian hill temple on Wednesday to prevent clashes between women of menstrual age entering for the first time in centuries and conservative Hindu groups out to stop them.
A temple in southern India that’s one of the largest Hindu pilgrimage centres in the world is set to open its doors to females of menstruating age following a ruling by the country’s top court.
Some 1,000 police officers cleared protesters from the vicinity of the Sabarimala temple in Kerala state on Wednesday, hours before the temple’s doors were to open to females ages 10 to 50, said police officer Manoj Abraham. But the protesters bullied and attacked some devotees and journalists elsewhere.
Police arrested 11 protesters when they tried to block the path of some females. On Tuesday, hundreds of demonstrators stopped buses carrying devotees to two of the temple’s base camps and asked females to show documents to prove their age.
Television video showed the protesters turning violent and attacking the cars and vans of some female reporters and TV crew members some distance from the temple.
Pooja Prasaanna of the Republic TV channel said the protesters hurled stones at a police van where she and her crew members had taken shelter after their car was targeted, and snatched away batons carried by some police officers who tried to shield them.
The NewDelhi Television channel reported that some 20 protesters surrounded a bus in which a reporter of The Newsminute channel was traveling and tried to pull her out. The reporter was kicked by angry protesters who also hurled abuses at her, NDTV reported.
For centuries, the Sabarimala temple in Kerala has banned women or girls older than 10, but that was judged illegal by the Supreme Court which ruled last month that it infringed the right to worship.
Temple management and the protesters argue that the celibate nature of the temple’s presiding deity, Lord Ayyappa, is protected by India’s constitution. Some religious figures consider menstruating women to be impure.
Meghna Pant, a female activist, said the celibacy of the deity was not more important than the equality of women.

“Who are men to decide where women can go or not?” she said.
Supporters of the ban have been angered by the state government’s decision not to seek a review of the Supreme Court’s ruling.
Rahul Easwar, an attorney for the temple, appealed to the female devotees not to enter the temple and give temple authorities until next week to file a review petition in the Supreme Court.
Sabarimala is surrounded by mountains and dense forests in its location at the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Up to 50 million devotees visit the temple every year.
Several temples across India have banned women, saying the policy is intended to preserve the purity of their shrines. The operators of a temple in the northwestern state of Rajasthan believe the Hindu god Kartikeya curses women who enter the temple, instead of blessing them.
India’s secular courts have intervened recently in cases in which a religion’s gender beliefs were seen as discriminatory.

Australia apologizes to institutional child sex abuse victims

[Image: morrison.jpg?w=320&quality=70&strip=all]
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison delivered an emotional national apology to the survivors, victims and families of institutional child sexual abuse on Monday.
The apology follows a five year Royal Commission inquiry into child sexual abuse which delved into more than 8,000 cases of sexual misconduct largely committed at religious and state-run institutions responsible for the safety of children.
The report called for a National Office for Child Safety and national child safety standards, child abuse reporting and record keeping, which would cover all institutions engaged in child-related work.
It is rare for the Australian government to issue a national apology, which is reserved for egregious misdeeds where the state has played a role. The apology also coincided with National Children’s Week.

Why we imposed 24-hour curfew on Kaduna - Government Naij Nigeria
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Gimbiya - 10-22-2018, 11:15 AM - No Replies

The Kaduna state government said the curfew declared in the state would prevent further breakdown of law and order

- The government said the advice to declare the curfew came from security chiefs in the state

- About 55 persons were killed in a violence that erupted in the state on Thursday, October 18

The Kaduna state government on Sunday, October 21, said the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna metropolis and environs was a preemptive measure to avert breakdown of law and order.

Samuel Aruwan, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Nasiru El-Rufai told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview that the action was based on the advice of security chiefs in the state.

He said that the government would give details on the security situation later.

NAN reports that 55 people were on Thursday killed in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru local government area of the state, which also prompted the government to impose curfew there.

A check by NAN reveals that the latest crisis was said to have began at Mararaba Rido, and spilled over to Sabon Tasha, Tudun Wada, Central Market and Ahmadu Bello way, the city center.

A resident of Mararaban Rido, Mrs Hanatu Simon said that the issue began at a Church in the area where a man was caught suspiciously recording the pastor’s sermon with his phone.

Simon said that the church officials reported the matter to the police and the man was arrested and taken away by the police.

“However, around 3 pm we heard gun shots around the market area with people running in all directions, houses were being burnt and everyone was running for his life.

“Although military and police officers are all over the place, we still hear gun shots all over the place,” she said.

Another residents, Julius John said: “I don’t know what is happening, I am in my house, but all I can here is gun shots with people shouting and running.”

At Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Market, a trader, Ibrahim Ya’u said that it was a spontaneous reaction as people “just started running when they heard there is crises in town.

“Most traders quickly close their shops to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the situation to steal our goods.”

Some youths who reportedly blocked the busy Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway and Ahmadu Bello Way burning tires, were later dispersed by security agents.

“In the pandemonium, a car ran over my brother, a fruit seller at Lagos street. We are trying to get the police to help us take him to the hospital,” a resident, Malam Abubakar Abdullahi, told NAN.

In Janruwa community, a resident informed NAN that the youths there had barricaded the road, stopping and searching vehicles coming from both direction.

Stranded commuters from across the city were seen trekking to their destinations as vehicle owners kept off the roads.

NAN however reports that the city is calm after the initial pandemonium, with security agents deployed to strategic areas of the metropolis keeping vigil to avert further crisis.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris, deployed the assistant inspector-general of police in charge of Zone 7, Taiwo Lakanu, to lead a police intervention force to Kaduna to ensure that normalcy return to the area.

Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, the force public relations officer, disclosed this while addressing newsmen on the violence on Sunday in Abuja.

Morning Devotional For Monday 22nd October

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 22ND OCTOBER.

YOU’VE CRUCIFIED THE FLESH.

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Galatians 5:24).

There’re Christians who are enslaved by certain habits, which they keep praying to God to help them overcome. Unfortunately, for most of them, the more they pray, the more they find themselves controlled and dominated by those habits. This has left them confused, and thinking their situation is beyond remedy. Some have even backslidden, because they thought they couldn’t be free.

But in studying the Scriptures, we find that it says in Romans 6:14, “For Sin shall not have dominion over you....” Our opening verse is also unequivocal: “…they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”; meaning that if you’re in Christ, you can’t be bound by any habit. So, what then is the problem of those who seem to be in bondage to certain habits? It’s simply their lack of knowledge.
God never asked us to fight the flesh or struggle with sin and habits; we’ve crucified the flesh; we’ve overcome the world; we have dominion over Satan and sin. So, when some Christians or even preachers counsel others to “crucify the flesh,” it’s a contradiction.

It’s fruitless to try to be who you already are or get what you already have. If God says you’ve crucified the flesh, then that’s it! Your role is to respond and say, “I don’t get, and can never be, dominated by sin or the flesh, because I am Christ’s. Therefore, I’ve crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts.”
Galatians 5:25 says, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Since we were born into the spirit and we live in the spirit, we’re to walk in the spirit. So, simply, if you’ve not been walking in the spirit, start walking in the spirit; that is, in the light of God’s Word. Declare, “From this day, my flesh won’t control me; my mind won’t dictate to me; I refuse to be sense-ruled, for the Word of God has become my compass, and I live the Word.”

Galatians 5:16 says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” How do you walk in the Spirit? It’s by walking in the light of God’s Word. It’s by walking in the truth in Christ; in the light of your righteousness and glory in Him. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Sin has no dominion over me. I live in the spirit, having crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts. I’ve overcome the world; I’m superior to Satan; I’m washed, sanctified, and justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus! Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY:

Romans 6:11-14 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

22ND OCTOBER.

I affirm that I am a peculiar treasure unto the Lord! I am special; set apart by the Lord for His divine use, and I am bringing Him glory every day! My life is a testimony of His righteousness, love, grace, greatness, and power! I am transformed, purify and empowered by the Word of God.   Missing 8-Year-Old Boy Found Dead In A Bush With His Hands Tied. Graphic Photo

An 8-year-old school boy identified as Olamide has been found dead at Okeagbe-Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State. His body was reportedly found in the bush with his hands tied behind his back and with cuts.

The primary 2 pupil of St. Judges Anglican Primary School Okeagbe was said to have left home for school last Thursday morning, but did not return until his body was mysteriously found on Friday morning.

Speaking with Mercy-Babs news, the father of the dead child, Ayodele Okunola said he suspected ritual killing as the body was discovered by the bush in such condition.

“Olamide was living with my mother at Afa area of Okeagbe. I was told he left home for school Thursday morning as usual, but my mother said she began to worry when she did not see him return. She later called to inform me. We looked for him throughout that day and could not find him. We reported to the police they told us to still be looking for him for some hours more.

“What I saw this morning was very painful as we later discovered my son dead in the bush at Aje area in Oge road in the community laid on the wraps of clothes with his hands tied behind his back, with cuts and blood spots on his body. I suspect ritual killing—they might have used his blood”, the father said.

According to a man who simply identified himself as Obama and an elder brother to the bereaved father, he said they had been looking for the little boy since Thursday evening when his grandmother informed them of his missing.

“We searched everywhere in the community till 9pm yesterday (Thursday) but could not find him. We went to his school and later announced in the whole of the community. I got surprised as his body suddenly discovered here this morning. There is no doubt, they came to dump him here”, Obama said.

Oshiomhole Raises Alarm On Plot To Pass No Confidence Vote On Him
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-21-2018, 09:45 PM - No Replies

Quote:**Insists Party Is in Safe hands

The National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has raise an alarm, accusing some unnamed party stalwarts of frustrating his plans to re-position the APC even as he alleged a clandestine move on their part with the ultimate aim of passing a no confidence vote on him.

This is as the Chairman however assured that the party under him is in safe hands as it marches on sure-footing to victory in the 2019 general elections.

He made the allegation on Sunday in Abuja in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Simon Ebebgulem, adding that “This is the overarching mission of the national working committee, NWC, of the party under his leadership”,

The statement noted that the suggestion in some quarters, “especially by one of the presidential aspirants on the platform of the party, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha, that the APC cannot win with Oshiomhole as published at page 42 of Saturday Vanguard of October 20, 2018, is therefore unfair, denigrating and baleful of Comrade Oshiomhole’s persona and commitment to a rejuvenated winning machine that the APC typifies.

“The totality of Unagha’s claims, without necessarily addressing them one after the other, tallies with cooked-up narratives being sponsored by some influential stakeholders in their respective states that Comrade Oshiomhole is responsible for all the problems in the APC at the moment.

“These influential stakeholders, according to grapevine, have begun to mobilise to pass a no-confidence vote in the leadership of Oshiomhole, having failed to impose their preferred candidates on the party in the nomination process”.

The statement reads further; “Comrade Oshiomhole did not become national chairman of the governing party to bring it down a notch from the pedestal of its 2015 electoral victory let alone to preside over its liquidation.

“Rather, his single-minded goal, from the outset of his declaration of interest in the position, was to deploy his capacity in helping to strengthen and reposition the party as a truly supreme and disciplined political entity.

“Although, it might appear fortuitous to some persons that he became national chairman at the threshold of the 2019 general election; the truth is that there is no accident in predestination.

“We must appreciate the fact that it has pleased the Almighty God to place him in the saddle of APC leadership at this time for a purpose. “The purpose has begun to manifest in its vast flourish and ramifications: instilling discipline, ensuring party supremacy, promoting due process, dealing with impunity and executive arrogance wherever they manifest to undermine intra-party electoral processes in the states.

“From the outset, we never expected that those who cherished and supported the status quo, which Comrade Oshiomhole supplanted, would cave in easily under the magnitude of the current political revival that he spearheads. “Indeed, while the progressives are enamored of change, the conservatives find it difficult to embrace it. That is the current reality in the deliberate effort to rebrand the APC.

“Again, we were not, in the least, deluded that the process of rebranding or rewriting the narrative of the four-year old party would be easy. What we are witnessing in the APC today is Comrade Oshiomhole’s adroit management of the strains and pains that accompany the birth of a resuscitated governing party.

“The leadership provided in the recently-held primary elections and the large-scale integrity of the processes are developments that should hence serve as exemplars in the administration of governing parties.

“Indeed, the message therein is very clear that the party, and not pseudo political empires in the states, has the power to superintend the primary elections for the nomination of the party’s candidates in the general election.

“While the party will not surrender its functions, which are constitutionally circumscribed, to any other entities, it will always be ready to moderate the divergent tendencies and mediate the disparate political camps in the interest of party cohesion.

“This is one of the hardnosed truths that the Comrade Oshiomhole-led NWC preaches and practises with an apostolic zeal to the chagrin of some influential stakeholders in the states.

“Comrade Oshiomhole envisions an APC that is capacitated to pragmatically build a corpus of leadership and membership that do not only submit to the high ideal of party supremacy but also the credo of party discipline.

“These-party supremacy and discipline- are two fundamentals that had been eroded even before the emergence of the Oshiomhole leadership. It is sad that while the national chairman is working round the clock, some stakeholders have thrown selfish political agendas into the mix to threaten the building of institutional capacity for the APC.

“Rather than resort to needless perfidy at the threshold of a general election, we call on them to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship, bolstered by the fact that the Oshiomhole leadership is propelled more by its interest in propriety in which victory for the party could be grounded. The crime committed by Comrade Oshiomhole’s leadership is its disdain for impunity and circumvention of due process perpetrated in some of the states at the pleasure of some influential stakeholders.

“Overall, Comrade Oshiomhole has not, since stepping in the saddle, taken any unilateral decision in the running of the party affairs. All decisions, so far taken, passed through the mills of NWC deliberative sessions and enjoyed unanimous resolutions. The records are there. History will justify Comrade Oshiomhole and posterity will vindicate him.

“Therefore, with eyes firmly fixed on the general election, especially the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the scheduled February 16 poll, Comrade Oshiomhole assures all stakeholders in the APC of his respect for them. He assures them of his readiness to work with them for the good of the party.

“The comrade chairman also proposes a common front in the general election and believes that the APC, as a governing party, will do a commemorative post mortem next year to appraise and reappraise the political developments and decisions that presaged the election, which it would win emphatically”.

THE BrideGLOOM. Episode 41

Judith came to Abuja yesterday in preparation for Shasha’s 3rd birthday tomorrow. She bought the children lots of presents and also made the whole family a delicious meal.
After they had all eaten, they sat down in the living room watching children’s programmes.

Mr Ambrose was lying flat on the floor with baby Joshua comfortably sleeping on his bare chest after being fed by Judith.

JUDITH: that is a an excellent way of bonding with a baby. Well Done!

MR AMBROSE: oh that’s his favourite place in the world. When he is crying, the minute I place him on my chest, he just goes quiet and gently rests his head on me. Next, he sleeps off.

TATIANA: Baby Joshua cries a lot because he doesn’t have a mummy

MR AMBROSE: phewww! Here we go again!

JUDITH: but he has a mummy in heaven, darling

TATIANA: but he doesn’t have a mummy in the world so he cries so that God will give him his own mummy. I and Shasha don’t cry because we have a mummy and daddy??

KATE: Tatiana, what happened to your new teacher?

TATIANA: she died!

JUDITH: no! You can’t say that about someone, Tatiana!

MR AMBROSE: she actually did. They sent a letter to all parents informing us. Apparently, she was raped and murdered by some…(doorbell rings)

JUDITH: I’ll see who it is

MR AMBROSE: are you sure? Or you want me to?

JUDITH: no, you don’t want the baby to wake up
(Opens the door and saw a man and a woman)
Yes, how can I help?

CHARLOTTE: please, is this the residence of one Mr Ambrose?

JUDITH: erm, yeah. Why?

CHARLOTTE: my name is Charlotte and this is my fiance, Umar. We are here to see him for something very important

JUDITH: does he know you were coming?

CHARLOTTE: no he doesn’t

JUDITH: erm, Mr Ambrose normally sees people strictly on appointment as he doesn’t want anything disturbing his family time. But I’ll tell him, but I am not making you any promises, alright?

CHARLOTTE: thank you but please tell him it’s very important

JUDITH: alright, one moment (shuts the door)
Erm, Mr Ambrose, a woman and a man she described as her fiance are here to see you

MR AMBROSE: did you ask them what for?

CHARLOTTE: Yes, she said it’s important. She looks very nervous and all teary.

MR AMBROSE: for some reasons, I always get these nutters that I haven’t met from Adam coming to see me either in my office or here at home. Some of them come to beg for alms, some come to report how rude my staff were to them and some are just plain mad. So I am very very reluctant to see people without appointments. But let them in

JUDITH: alright!(opens the door) you can come in

CHARLOTTE: good morning, Mr Ambrose

MR AMBROSE: good morning lady and gentleman

ALAHAJI UMAR: peace be unto this house. Good morning my brother

CHARLOTTE: we first of all went to your office but we were told you are off today

MR AMBROSE: yes. I only go to work on Mondays and Thursdays now since my wife passed away. I stay home most of the time looking after the kids

ALAHAJI UMAR: oh my brother! I hab been there before! Bery bery hard. My own kwondition was worsened when the child died after 9 months of my hard work and ebrything!
But I lib ebrything in the hands of Allah. We cannot question him

MR AMBROSE: sorry about your experience. Like you said, we cannot question God

CHARLOTTE: sorry about the death of your wife, sir and may her soul rest in peace. Sir, I’m not sure if you remember me.

MR AMBROSE: your face looks familiar but I can’t place exactly where I’ve seen you. My memory is not that great anymore. A lot of things have happened so forgive that.

CHARLOTTE: (kneels down) Sir, I am one of the ladies who came to your office claiming we are a charity organisation. We then told you something about your wife and also left some pictures for you.

MR AMBROSE: a l r I G H T…. one of the ladies who sent my wife to her early grave… fantastic!! Kate! Take Joshua from me and take the kids upstairs immediately!

KATE: Tatiana, Shasha! Upstairs!(takes Baby Joshua from him and they all went to the living room upstairs)

MR AMBROSE: give me a minute? (goes into his room, loads his brand new registered AK47, comes downstairs and points it right into Charlotte’s right ear)
give me one reason why I should not send you to the hottest part of hell right now where you rightly belong!??

ALAHAJI UMAR: ah! Alahu akubah! Dan Allah! Don’t shoot please. Please I beg you in the name of Allah! Don’t shoot???

JUDITH: (stands between him and Charlotte so that the gun is now pointed at her) remember who Chioma was when she was alive. Peaceful, loving, and forgiving! That is who is was. She lived a higher life never hurt a fly in her lifetime.
If she was standing here right now, guess what she would say? “Oh come on sweetie! Stand up, I forgave you a long time ago”! That’s who she was. Let’s keep that up for her.
If you shoot and kill this lowlife right now, you will go to jail for murder, your children will miss having you here with them.
Please, put down the gun. I can literally hear my girlfriend saying these exact words, put down the gun.

MR AMBROSE: (Hands shaking profusely and face flooded with tears) you killed my wife! And you had the temerity to present your ugly face to me! ???You want me to forgive you for causing me pain and guilt that will accompany me to my grave???
Because of you, that wee boy you saw here will never know a mother’s love! Day in day out, her two little girls ask me questions too heavy for me to answer.
You sent my wife six feet under and you stand in front of me asking for forgiveness! That amount of gut!!!! Oh that amount of gut! ????
Why didn’t you come here yesterday when Judith wasn’t here!!!
Nothing, and I mean nothing would have stopped me from separating your wicked head from the rest of your evil body! ????(Breaks down in tears!????)
Oh how you hurt me, young lady! How you hurt me!
I would have given you money, if you wanted money! Why did you go for Chioma!!! Why???
She didn’t deserve to die? She was only 28. Full of life and love.
She would never do a thing like this to anyone! Never ever! She wouldn’t even think of it.
You want forgiveness? Head to st Mark’s Anglican church graveyard. There lies the remains of Chioma. Go there and obtain her forgiveness.
I have no forgiveness to give you!

CHARLOTTE: (crying really loudly) pleaseeeeeee!! Pleaseeeee I beg you in the name of God in heaven. I already have HIV and my other friend whom I came with to your office was raped and murdered last week.?????

JUDITH: wait, was she a teacher??

CHARLOTTE: yes she was. Pleaseeeeee my sister beg him to forgive me ooo??????

JUDITH: Jesus! So that was Tatiana’s teacher! Lilly and Birds nursery and Primary school?

CHARLOTTE: yes. Pleaseeeeee I beg of you!

MR AMBROSE: imagine! If I had known earlier, I would have killed her myself! No wonder I never liked her neither did the kids! She got what she deserved! Why do you think you deserve forgiveness! You deserve to be blown up! And I want to have the honour of doing it????

CHARLOTTE: Sir, I will not leave your house today unless you forgive me. I can’t sleep at night. I keep having nightmares????

MR AMBROSE: My wife sleeps in the graveyard every effing night!!!! Because of you! Bastard!

JUDITH: remember what Chioma told us. She said even if her killer presents himself, that we should not press any charges. This is probably who she was referring to and not the truck driver who knocked her down. This ugly woman right here is her killer

CHARLOTTE: (holds judith on her ankles) please dear beg him

JUDITH: will you get your bloodstained hands off me!!!! That lady you killed was the only friend I had in the world!
If not for the gift of salvation, I would insert a very hot metal down your throat!
(Turns to Ambrose)
Please, darling, forgive. Vengeance is mine says the Lord. Let’s not play God. The bible says avenge not yourselves. Please forgive

MR AMBROSE: I forgive you. Leave my house now!
I forgive you and I hope you have a good life but always remember that your actions cut short the life of a young mum. Goodbye.

ALAHAJI UMAR: thank you, my brother. Come on stand up you evil girl! Allah have mercy on your soul. You hurt this man so much walahi. If this was me, I would have slit your throat walahi! Move!
Allah bless you, my brother

(They left and Judith hugged Ambrose so tight and somehow, their lips managed to locate each other and for the very first time he kissed her passionately…?)

MR AMBROSE: just give me a second

JUDITH: Take two

(Mr Ambrose went into his bedroom and brought the ring she bought to engage Judith but he had planned to do it tomorrow at Shasha’s birthday party. But he couldn’t wait anymore. So he quickly grabbed it and ran downstairs where Judy was)

MR AMBROSE: (on one knee) Judy, for me, you are not just another woman. To me, you are love covering yourself in the bodies of two beautiful women just to get to me.
You found me first through my Chioma and now, hidden inside the beautiful Judith, you came looking for me again.
I recognised you when I saw you. You are love and you have found me again. And again, I want to keep you in my heart and home forever.
So love, will You marry me?

JUDITH: oh my goodness! I can’t believe this is happening! Yes I will!

MR AMBROSE: Kate! Tatiana! Shasha! Joshua!!! Daddy is engaged!!!!!!!
********************************************

MADAM NNENA: ah! See who we have here!

XANDRA: mama, how are you?

MADAM NNENA: I am not good. You brought me to London and abandoned me! Eh! My daughter you know I like seeing you around. Don’t break my heart oh! Come in my love

XANDRA: wow! This place is very nice and cosy! Where is Deric?

MADAM NNENA: my dear, I believe he is broken. You know they called him from Nigeria and told him that his adulterous wife is getting married to onye awusa. But even before then, he has been staying in that his room, playing all the sad songs in the world. Doesn’t eat from day to day. Manages to drink a cup of coffee or two that’s it.
I’m tired of trying to get him to talk to me my dear

XANDRA: he’ll be fine. I know what’s wrong with him.

MADAM NNENA: you do?

XANDRA: yeah. I’ll go see him now.

MADAM NNENA: alright, my daughter

( Xandra got inside and saw Deric in bed wrapped in blanket and facing the wall)

XANDRA: (taking off the blankets to reveal his face) come on! It’s not that cold?

DERIC: Xandra, why are you here?

XANDRA: to see you, of course!

DERIC: leave. You have seen me

XANDRA: I’m not leaving. Call the police

DERIC: when is your wedding?

XANDRA: you tell me

DERIC: stop being stupid. It’s not funny. Xandra! Have some sympathy! I am human. Does it give you this much joy hurting me?

XANDRA: Hehehe I wanted you to feel a little of what I felt those days I was falling head over heels in love with you. I would take extra shifts just to see your face and you were doing shakara and forming married. Mtchewww!

DERIC: (Quickly sits up) Xandra! Are you not seeing anyone?

XANDRA: no, I’ve always wanted you and only you. I love you Deric and I couldn’t even hide it no matter how hard I tried

DERIC: (jumps out of bed, reaches for the ring in his bedside drawer and kneels before Xandra)
Xandra, please will you marry me?

Xandra: yes, I will marry you?

(Deric hugged her and they started kissing, for about 10 minutes, I looked on as they passionately kissed each other. And then their hands started wandering to places I would describe as dangerous. So I knew it was time to take myself out of that dangerous zone. So I walked away.
I am unable to give an account of what happened afterwards but whatever happened, it must have been intense.
I’ll see you all tomorrow???

THE BrideGLOOM. T H E E N D

Mr Ambrose has just married Judith in a private wedding in an undisclosed location in the Federal Capital Territory.
It was a lovely ceremony but not without the occasional moments of tears and sadness
During the exchange of vows, Mr Ambrose could hardly say out the words as he read them out amidst tears.
Generally, It was a sweet and sad day for the family.

The attendees of the wedding were:

Mr Ambrose’s parents
Late Chioma’s mother
Judith’s immediate family
Kate( bridesmaid)
Tatiana(flower girl)
Shasha(little bride)
Joshua
The priest

The family already knew that they were all leaving for Canada at 6pm today, but they were not aware of Mr Ambrose’s big surprise for them.
To the best of Kate’s knowledge, she was going to look after the house while they are away.

They got home, undressed and Mr Ambrose summoned them in the living room.

MR AMBROSE: first of all, I just want to congratulate all of us. It’s our day; not just that of I and Judith. It’s our day!
I know you all know that we are all going to Canada for a month this night.
But actually, we are not just going for a month. We are relocating to Canada.

JUDITH: wow!

MR AMBROSE: Kate?

KATE: sir?

MR AMBROSE: you’ve been with us since you were 17 and now you are 25. You are like a daughter to me and saying Goodbye to you is the hardest thing in the world for me. But I have to do it.
But what would you like me to do for You?

KATE: sir, I just want to thank you for picking up a poor orphan like me and giving me a great life. I never thought I would live in a house like this.
When my mother died, you single handedly paid for her funeral. You sent me to school and you always ensured I have whatever I need.

Madam, wherever you Are, may your soul find rest. Sir, I don’t want anything from you just don’t forget to call me so I can speak with my Tatiana, Shasha and Joshua when he starts talking.??
I …I ..I will miss them so much. Sister Judith I will miss you. Sir, i will miss you too.
May God grant you favour wherever you go in Jesus name amen.
I will go back to my auntie in the village.

MR AMBROSE: Kate?

KATE: sir

MR AMBROSE: you are coming with us to Canada.

KATE: oh my God!!??

MR AMBROSE: yes. I can’t leave you behind. You are my daughter and Chioma asked me never to send you away

KATE: (Hugs him and breaks down in tears) thank you so much, sir. I can’t believe my ears???

JUDITH: awwwww!

MR AMBROSE: erm, one more thing, we must go to Chioma’s resting place and say goodbye to her. From There, we will make our way to the airport. Terry will take us there, and then to the airport.

(The family made their way to the graveyard. And on their way, Mr Ambrose bought a bunch of flower and gave them one each. When they got to the graveyard, they went to Chioma’s final resting place and stood around her grave..)

MR AMBROSE: exactly, this day twelve years ago, I got married to you. And on this same day, I just got married to your friend.
I have found love in her arms just like I did in your arms. But moving on in this same environment looks impossible to me. I know you want me to be happy. Therefore, In search of happiness, I am leaving to start all over again.
But I cannot do so without coming to say goodbye once again.
Goodbye my love?
Goodbye my baby?
Goodbye! for I must now let you rest in peace?( kisses the flower and lays it on the grave⚘)

Tatiana, say goodbye to mummy

TATIANA: I love you mummy. I hope Jesus and the angels are giving you lots of ice cream and chocolates. Goodbye, mummy (kisses the flower and lays it on the grave ⚘)

MR AMBROSE: Shasha, say goodbye to mummy

SHASHA: I lof you mummy. Bye bye (kisses the flower and lays it on the grave ⚘)

MR AMBROSE: Kate, say goodbye to your auntie

KATE: even in death, you are still kind. Whatever I become tomorrow, you made me. Thanks for everything. Good night, ma. Rest in peace??? (kisses the flower and lays it on the grave ⚘)

MR AMBROSE: Judy, it’s your turn

JUDITH: (starts crying )?????

MR AMBROSE: Come On, babe! You can’t do this. The kids are here!

JUDITH: (amidst tears) babe, this is it! This is goodbye… this is goodbye? I did it, girl I did it for You! I will continue to do it. I know how much you love them, I will never love them less. They are the you I see everyday.
Thanks for giving me a great home. Ah! Bye babe.
Unbehalf of baby Joshua, this is goodbye!
(Kisses the flower and lays it on the grave ⚘)

(The family walked back to the car and as they were about to enter into the car, Mr Ambrose slightly pulled Judith back)

MR AMBROSE: I know I have caused you pain. Yes, through my carelessness, you lost a dear friend but thank you for accepting to be my bride.
I am not worthy to be called your bridegroom.

For now, let me be your BRIDEGLOOM, but I will spend the rest of my life trying to merit the title “Bridegroom”

Kaduna Crises: Tinubu Blows Hot Over Religious Killings, Reveals What Will Happe
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-21-2018, 06:28 PM - No Replies

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has declared that those behind the religious clashes in Kaduna State will be severely punished.

Tinubu condemned the fresh communal crisis at Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state, which left over 55 people dead.

The APC leader stated this in a statement in Lagos by his Media Office and signed by Tunde Rahman.

The former Lagos State Governor and federal lawmaker pointed out that it was necessary for people of various religious groups and persuasions to accommodate one another.

The APC leader admonished “traditional, religious and youth leaders to embrace peace and put an end to the mayhem and bloodshed,” which first reared its head in the area in February this year, claiming 10 lives.

He particularly urged “the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Kaduna State and in the troubled area to inculcate in their members and youths generally, the importance of peaceful co-existence and the sanctity of human life,” saying “without peace and tranquility, a society cannot make any meaningful progress.”

“Security agencies must also be alive to their responsibilities and step up their intelligence gathering mechanism. The police should be pro-active so they nip any deadly attack in the bud before they are hatched.

“We must bring all the perpetrators of this fresh attack to book, they must be made to face the full wrath of the law in order to serve as a deterrent against any future nefarious plan,” he added.

Usman Yusuf: 'Only Buhari Can Sack Me' - NHIS Boss Resumes Work
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-21-2018, 06:22 PM - No Replies

The Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Usman Yusuf, who was suspended indefinitely by the governing council of the NHIS on Thursday, resumed work on Friday, ignoring the resolution of the council, Saturday PUNCH can confirm.

It was learnt that Yusuf resumed at the head office of the agency in Abuja around 10am to the surprise of members of staff.

In a memo with reference number NHIS/ES/091/1/192, signed by Yusuf and addressed to the chairman of the council, Dr Enyantu Ifenne, the Executive Secretary said only President Muhammadu Buhari could suspend him.

Citing sections 6, 7 and 8 of the NHIS Act, Yusuf said the council only had the powers to manage the scheme and other related activities, adding that he had not even been informed of the petitions written against him.

The memo read in part, “As you are aware, by virtue of Section 8 of the NHIS Act, my appointment, like yours, is at the instance of the President, while the council’s power of appointment is limited to directors and other employees of the scheme.

“It is, therefore, ultra vires or the council to suspend or purport to suspend me from office to the extent that the said suspension is the prerogative of Mr Area of SMF.”

In her reaction, the chairman of the NHIS board acknowledged receipt of the memo on Friday.

Chairman of the NHIS board, Dr Enyantu Ifenne, however, expressed shock over Yusuf’s decision to defy the council.

She said, “Let those who hide under the cover of the Presidency to protect corruption know that Nigerians are keenly watching. I am convinced that if President Buhari is fully briefed about a tenth of Yusuf’s atrocities, he will throw him out.”

At a briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Ifenne had accused Yusuf of insubordination, fraud, arbitrariness and other corrupt practices.

She had announced his indefinite suspension and appointed Sadiq Abubakar as the acting Executive Secretary.

Wife of Nigeria President, Aisha Buhari has lambasted the All Progressive congress (APC) for its undemocratic principles.

The President, Muhammadu Buhari was voted into office on the party’s platform. He is also the presidential candidate of the party in next year’s general elections.

But Mrs Buhari, in a tweet on her official handle @aishambuhari, lamented that the APC denied many aspirants the opportunity to earn the party’ tickets after purchasing its expensive forms.

“It is disheartening to note that some aspirants used their hard earned money to purchase nomination forms, got screened, cleared and campaigned vigorously yet found their names omitted on Election Day, these forms were bought at exorbitant prices.

“Many others contested and yet had their result delayed. Fully knowing that AUTOMATIC tickets have been given to other people,” she lamented.

Mrs Buhari expressed dismay that: “All Progressives Congress being a party whose cardinal principle is change and headed by a comrade/ activist whose main concern is for the common man, yet, such impunity could take place under its watch.”

She called on Nigerians to dump aspirants who are not committed to the provision of democratic dividends.

IPOB Press Release On Choice Of Atiku As President

IPOB Press Release On Choice Of Atiku As President
October 21, 2018  NEW

IPOB Press Statement

October 2018

We view with utter disdain and sadness the macabre dance of shame being exhibited by some elements from the east over the emergence of Atiku Abubakar. These shameless politicians, typified by the institutionalized bundle of treachery abundant in Ohaneze Ndigbo ideology, have reared their ugly heads once again in the never-ending cycle of humiliation and suffering for Biafrans in Nigeria. If people can forget with such ease that Atiku Abubakar is yet another Fulani Muslim with a major stake in the murderous tendencies of Miyetti Allah a.k.a Fulani herdsmen, then there is a reason to question the sanity of those that claim they are political leaders in the south.

The same misplaced sycophantic euphoria greeted the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari in 2014 when the mantra was to get rid of the same PDP that some quislings are campaigning for today. We know where Buhari’s regime has landed everybody. The same greedy and political shortsightedness that led to the emergence of the Fulani Buhari is at play once again. It confirms what we IPOB have always known, that some people don’t have what it takes to usher in positive long-lasting change. The same band of criminal politicians responsible for the pain and hardship ravaging our land today are now telling us to vote for the umpteenth time in the hope that things will get better this time around when they know it won’t.

It is frankly unbelievable that some people can be that gullible as to be taken in by the charade that passes as electioneering in Nigeria. The noise making and celebration at the emergence of another Fulani man to contest presidential seat come 2019 under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is indicative that politics in Nigeria is an exercise in recycling expired criminals in the corridors of power.
The emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubarka did not come as a surprise because we the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu are well aware and informed on the antics of the Fulani caliphate with their jihadist plans to perpetuate the suffering and conquest of the rest of Nigeria particularly the former Eastern Region. It’s a shame that Ohaneze Ndigbo and eastern politicians are still ignorant of this fact but they claim they are learned.
How quickly so-called leaders of the east have forgotten that it was Buhari that truncated the guaranteed Ekwueme presidency with his anti-east military coup of 1983. It was the same Buhari that killed civilians and blackmailed another easterner Goodluck Jonathan out of office, using the formidable might of global Islamic brotherhood led by Obama.
How can these confused easterners be jubilating over Atiku Abubakar having speedily forgotten that he single-handedly denied Dr Alex Ekwueme the PDP ticket in the run-up to the Jos convention in 1999? There is no serious politician in the South East and South-South who doesn’t know that it was Atiku Abubakar that stopped Ekwueme’s restructuring agenda in 1999. IPOB has the secret details of how Atiku blackmailed and backstabbed Ekwueme out of the presidency. These will be made public in due course.
We are not unaware of the plans by the Fulani caliphate to continue their antics of perpetuating themselves in power by secretly placing their people in every political platform in the contraption called Nigeria. We still wonder why some Nigerians are so myopic to the extent they cannot see the handwriting on the wall. IPOB family members and it’s leadership worldwide have gone beyond the current gimmicks and frenzied local politics played by expired politicians on poor masses. Fulani has a singular agenda, to conquer and Islamize Nigeria. Unfortunately poorly informed eastern politicians and their brood of up and coming baby traitors are helping Miyetti Allah in the conquest of the Eastern Region. It is important to know that Atiku is a Fulani man and cannot jettison the Fulani agenda.
Fulani is pursuing a totally different agenda in Nigeria while other Nigerians are myopically carrying on in their blissful ignorance. Why can’t a pure Hausa, Tiv, Jukun or Bachama be president of Nigeria? Is there no Hausa man educated enough to lead Nigeria? These are the subtle realities that right-minded people should worry about. The Fulanis are playing a nicely refined game with the brains of Nigerians. How sad that some people accepted the narrative that only a Fulani man can win against ‘Buhari’ who is himself a Fulani.
Those irrationally jubilating in the South East and South South over the PDP nominee must remember it was Atiku, Saraki, Obasanjo, Tambowal, Kwankwonso and others that conspired against Jonathan in 2015 to put a Fulani man in power. Now Jonathan is gone, the big Fulani guns that abandoned him to join APC to ensure the loss of his presidency, have now jumped out of APC into PDP to overrun the east. We wonder why people will forget so easily, especially South East and South South people.
The hidden agenda Fulani doesn’t want people to understand is that they want to continue ruling Nigeria with Jubril from Sudan or another Fulani in PDP. They have succeeded in replacing their late hitman Mohammad Buhari with Atiku Abubakar to continue their Fulani agenda.
IPOB is not interested in who clinches which party ticket or becomes president next year because Biafra is coming and no man born of a woman can stop it. The disgraceful horse trading going on for the position of vice presidential candidate among South East politicians is indicative of their hopelessness and self-aggrandizement at the expense of the collective advancement of the people.
All the people of Biafra want is a referendum. Biafrans must decide whether they wish to continue staying in Nigeria or not before any election can be conducted in Biafraland.
COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.

Boko Haram sacks two communities in Borno

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Saturday night attacked Mairari and Femari communities in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the insurgents attacked the communities at about 8:30 pm; killed one person, set houses ablaze and carted away food items.

The attack came barely 12 hours after the insurgents killed more than 10 farmers and abducted others at Kuwa-Yangeya village on Maiduguri-Damboa Road on Saturday.

An eyewitness, Goni Umar, said the insurgents attacked the communities on gun trucks and motorcycles.
Umar said the insurgents carted away food items from shops and houses before setting them ablaze.
He added that the villagers fled into the bush while some others ran to Maiduguri, adding that: “one person was killed by a stray bullet while trying to escape”.
“On our way to Maiduguri, we saw troops and police heading to the villages”.
Brig.-Gen. Bulama Biu, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, confirmed the attack.
In a Short Service Message (SMS) to NAN, Biu said that troops had successfully repelled the attack, adding that the insurgents fled into the bush.
“Troops have been deployed since 8:45 pm and they are still combing the area in order to apprehend the culprits,” he said.

The Presidency on Sunday mocked the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar over his ambition to rule Nigeria in 2019.

Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie in a post on her Twitter page, said Atiku was not capable of ruling a Local Government Area, let alone Nigeria.

Onochie stated this while responding to a tweet by Atiku, advising his supporters on what to do to those against him ahead of forthcoming 2019 election.

The Waziri of Adamawa tweeted: “For everyone who supports me, I ask you to conduct yourself respectfully, even with people who do not agree with you.

“There will be insults, falsehoods, threats and innuendo. Ignore them and stay focused on the task of rebuilding Nigeria,” he tweeted.

In response, Onochie wrote: “Your symbolising corruption, greed and deception is legendary. You can only dream of returning our dear nation to the PDP elite who drained our treasury and left the poorest of us, worse off.

“It would not happen. You are too unpatriotic to run a Local Govt Area, let alone, our nation.”

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has called on people of Rivers State to vote out his successor, Nyesom Wike over insecurity issues in the state.

The Minister gave the charge at the Dedication service of the Tonye Cole campaign organisation in Port Harcourt.

The event took place at the Redeemed Christian Church on Sunday.

According to him, “It is unfortunate am saying this before the camera because it’s like demarketing Rivers State when you hear about death. We heard about how many killings up to eight persons just last week.

“If the Governor cannot take charge and people are dying, then there is a need for replacement and for people to vote for their lives.

“We are no longer talking about food now, we are not talking about light, we are talking about the right to existence that you have to live. All the shops and houses are empty people are on the run because nobody can protect them here”

Amaechi noted that they were in church because they believe that God drives everything and it is important to seek God first before talking to the people.

Nigerian Soldiers Hold Church Service With Their AK-47 Rifles. Photo

A picture of Nigerian soldiers worshipping in a church with their rifles is trending online for obvious reason.

The gallant military men held their rifle while holding a praise and worship service in a church in the northern part of Nigeria whey they are stationed to battle against the Boko Haram insurgents.

According to reports, despite the hostility in the troubled area, the soldiers never fail to hold church service to thank God for the gift of life and pray for protection as they also never forget to bring their guns along in case of emergency.

This is not the first time something like this has happened.

Obanikoro Flees To US As Fayose's Court Case Begins
User Avatar Forum: News

POLITICSNGR

Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk today reveals that Former Minister, Musliu Obanikoro has reportedly traveled to the US, a few days before the court case of Former Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose is set to commence.

Obanikoro, who was listed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to testify against Fayose left the country last Wednesday for Medical treatment an did not specify a date of return.

A former Minister of State for Defence, Obanikoro, traveled shortly after he retrieved his passports from the EFCC.

This is despite a directive by the Federal Government that 50 persons under investigations for fraud exceeding N50m are restricted from travelling.

Obanikoro, who has an American passport and a Nigerian one, reportedly met certain conditions before his passports were returned to him.

Obanikoro has been under investigation since 2016 for allegedly receiving N4.7bn from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), in 2014.

The former minister allegedly handed over about N1.3bn to former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and another N1.3bn to the then Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Osun State in 2014, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

After Fayose was arrested by the EFCC last Tuesday, however, it was learnt that Obanikoro traveled to the US.

The former minister, who has defected to the All Progressives Congress, had declared his intention to run for the Lagos West senatorial district election but shelved his ambition at the last minute.

Atiku Media Attacks Lai Mohammed: 'You Are A High Priest Of Fake News'
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 10-21-2018, 04:21 PM - No Replies

POLITICSNGR

PDP Presidential Aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has attacked Nigeria's minister of Information branding him the "High Priest of the APC cult of Fake News".
Atiku accused Mohammed of dishonesty about a statement he made in an article published in an online news medium titled; ‘2019: International media query emergence of Atiku over suspicious source of wealth’.

Below is a statement from Atiku's camp made available to PoliticsNGR, addressing the comment;

"The attention of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a sponsored news story on Vanguard newspapers of Saturday, October 20, 2018, with the headline ‘2019: International media query emergence of Atiku over suspicious source of wealth’.

In the said report, not one international media was quoted. Rather, it was the notoriously dishonest All Progressives Congress minister of information, Lai Mohammed, who was quoted alleging that that was what the international media told him.

Quoting the said story, Vanguard reported as follows:

“The minister said: “One curious issue that kept occurring was that anytime I spoke about how we have waged war against corruption, the journalists kept asking me a question. “They asked me: How can you claim to have succeeded in waging war against corruption, when one of the major contestants in the 2019 general elections is actually a man with stupendous wealth but cannot explain the source of his wealth?”

How anyone would take the word of a confirmed liar, as Lai Mohammed, for the Gospel truth is beyond us.

To show you how unreliable Lai Mohammed is, at the lecture in the Royal Institute for International Affairs (Chatham House) with the topic, “Nigeria’s National Unity: Towards Participation and Shared Values”, which was his main reason for going to London, Lai Mohammed said: “we do not need to do anything extra because we have delivered on all our promises and Nigerians are quite happy and satisfied with the government”.

How the minister of information of a government that has turned Nigeria into the world headquarters for extreme poverty can say that is beyond imagination. Is Mr. Mohammed claiming that his party promised and delivered poverty and Nigerians are satisfied with this world record poverty?

If Lai Mohammed can lie openly at Chatham House in front of the international press and diplomatic corps, is it a big thing for him to lie about his accounts with the international media?

The true position of things is that ever since the emergence of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party after the elective congress of the party on October 6-7, the international media has been agog with praise for Mr. Abubakar and hope for a new dawn in Nigeria.

Reuters praised Atiku as having “long enjoyed support from the business elite in Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos for his conservative-capitalist ideals”. They went on to further give him kudos for his record in office by saying “as vice president in a PDP administration from 1999-2007, (he) implemented a programme of liberalisation in areas including the telecoms sector.”

The number one policy magazine in the world, The Economist, described His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, “as a business-friendly candidate who will get Nigeria’s economy going.”

Not one single international paper, magazine, TV station or website has had anything negative to say about the Waziri Adamawa’s emergence. That lie only exists in the fallacious imagination of Lai Mohammed.

On the contrary, international media and even reputable global financial institutions have predicted doom for Nigeria should Muhammadu Buhari be re-elected.

According to one of the world’s largest banks, HSBC, “a second term for Mr Buhari however raises the risk of limited economic progress and further fiscal deterioration, prolonging the stagnation of his first term, particularly if there is no move towards completing reform of the exchange rate system or fiscal adjustments that diversify government revenues away from oil.”

On its own part, The Economist wrote off the Buhari administration as a failure, saying “The 2019 elections will be a close contest between the ruling APC and the PDP. We expect the PDP presidential candidate to win.”

Nigerians can no longer be hoodwinked by the Orwellian propaganda that is the signature of this administration.

The 2019 presidential election will be determined by Nigerian voters and not by political soothsayers. Nigerians will make a determination whether to settle for incompetence versus competence; cluelessness versus knowhow; joblessness versus employment; restiveness versus engagement; divisiveness versus unity; nepotism versus merit and bigotry versus inclusiveness.

Tickets: 62 Aggrieved APC Reps Await Panel Report, Plot Next Move

Quote:JOHN AMEH

Despite protests that greeted the outcome of its primary elections, the All Progressives Congress still denied many of its members in the House of Representatives return tickets ,
SUNDAY PUNCH has gathered.

Investigations showed that as the submission of the final list of successful candidates for the 2019 polls closed on Thursday , many members , who appealed their loss of the primary to the APC Appeal Panel , didn’ t get any reprieve from the party .

Findings showed that over 70 lawmakers petitioned the appeal panel , seeking to have their cases reviewed, but lost their appeals .

“ The appeal panel didn’ t work much in their favour . Only a very few persons were lucky, ” a senior parliamentary official informedSUNDAY PUNCH in Abuja .

However , the members were said to be expecting a formal report on the findings of the appeal panel before taking any further steps.

Investigations by SUNDAY PUNCH revealed that only eight out of the over 70 lawmakers , who petitioned, had their names submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The lucky ones so far are the Chairman , House Committee on Financial Crimes, Mr. Kayode Oladele; Mr. Isiaka Ibrahim ; Mr. Baderinwa White ; Mr. Aminu Malle ; Mr. Goodluck Opia ; Mr. Mayowa Akinfolarin ; Mr. Lado Abdullahi and Mr. Jimoh Oladele.

It was gathered that the panel did not invite the majority of the petitioners to any session to defend their petitions or hear their cases .

However , a source close to the appeal panel informed SUNDAY PUNCH that those cleared were found to have “ genuine cases. ”

The source , who did not want to be named , explained that those who were cleared had genuine cases after a careful study of their petitions.

He said , “This is democracy at work . You can ’ t lose the confidence of your people at home and rush to Abuja in search of an automatic ticket . ”

One of the affected members , Mr. Ayodeji Joseph , told SUNDAY PUNCH that he had nothing to do yet until the party released the report of the panel .

Joseph , who represents Apapa Federal Constituency in Lagos State, stated that since the petition was sent to the party through a formal channel , he expected that he would also be accorded the respect of a formal reply .

A lawmaker from Kaduna State, Mr. Musa Soba , who last week spoke for the affected members , had said they would decide on their next line of action after the appeal panel ’ s report .

Soba and his colleagues had met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa last Saturday , where the latter reportedly promised to look into the matter.

The meeting was at the instance of Buhari , who summoned the members after he heard of their threats to work against the party in 2019 .

Effort of SUNDAY PUNCH to get Soba ’ s reactions on the latest development had yet to yield fruit as of Saturday .

Another member from Ondo State, Mr. Gabriel Kolawole , declined to speak to SUNDAY PUNCH .

A few of the members , who had their cases resolved in their favour , also declined to talk to SUNDAY PUNCH , saying they were not sure of how their colleagues would react.

Up to 70 per cent of serving lawmakers or 252 out of 360 across political parties may not to return to the House in 2019 as a result of losing the primaries , voluntary withdrawal and contesting other offices .

When SUNDAY PUNCH contacted the Chairman , House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Abdulrazak Namdas , to verify the figure , he doubted that the non -returning members were up to 252 .

Rhapsody Of Realities

THE FATHER’S PRIDE

Sunday, October 21st

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures (James 1:18).

The New Living Translation of the scripture above says “He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.” Of all the things in creation, we’re the first and the best; we’re the Father’s crown and beauty. This doesn’t describe everybody in the world, but we who are born again; those to whom He gave birth through His Word are His trophies; His excellent workmanship.

What makes us unique is that we have the same life with Him; we’re in His class of being. Of everything that He made, we’re the ones called into oneness with Him; the only ones who are in fellowship with Him in spirit and in truth. Not even the angels have that privilege.

1 Peter 2:9 declares: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.”*_ You were created for God’s glory. Isaiah 43:7 says, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I HAVE CREATED HIM FOR MY GLORY, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”
Not only have you been brought into the glory of God, you’re the effulgence of His glory, just like Jesus. The Bible says He’s the brightness of God’s glory; the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3). Then in 1 John 4:17, we read that “…as he is, so are we in this world.”

You’re God’s reproduction, His peculiar treasure. In Deuteronomy 14:2, He said, “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.”
The Holy Spirit re-echoes a similar truth through the Apostle Paul in Titus 2:14, saying, “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”*_

Take pleasure in your uniqueness; you’re the Father’s pride; the apple of His eyes (Zechariah 2:8); His pearl of great price. Hallelujah.

PRAYER

I ascribe all glory, honour and majesty to you, righteous Father, King of glory; the great and wonderful God. Thank you for making me a peculiar treasure, separated unto you to bring you glory. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
1 Peter 2:9 AMP But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that [are] upon the earth.

Ephesians 2:10 AMP For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

21ST OCTOBER.

I affirm that the Word of God is my light and my life. My spirit is open to receive divine counsel and instruction from the Word. I am a doer of the Word, not a hearer only; I take fast hold of instruction; my heart is attentive, and I act fast on the Word. I am guided by the Spirit of God in all things, and my heart is flooded with divine light that I may know and walk in God’s perfect will always. My faith prevails today, as I put God’s Word to work; His righteousness, and the forces of life within my spirit, are unleashed, and His glory is revealed in and through me.

This is my set time; I’ve been raised in rank, in character, and in status. I am seated together with Christ in the place of authority, a place that is far removed from the operations and debilitating systems of this world. I dwell in safety because my address is Christ. All things are commanded to work together for my good. Even now, ministering spirits are unleashed to work for my advantage because I am an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ. I am well positioned, therefore, everywhere I turn, goodness and favour are channeled on me.

I have in me an inherent ability to recreate my world and make my life the epitome of God’s grace. I am an extension of the Father to my world; whoever has seen me has seen the Father! I am constantly transformed from glory to glory, and my greatness is evident for all to see. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

Dan Yomi: Preached Against Homosexuality But Masturbated To Gay Porn Every Night
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 10-21-2018, 05:02 AM - No Replies

Yomi the UK based Nigerian Student and first black Student Union president of Bournemouth University who came out as a gay few days ago?

Took to his facebook page to write about his struggle with his sexuality and how it started from inside church where his father was pastoring.

Quote:Hmmm...
Where do I start ......For years I’ve been struggling with what I initially thought was a demon inside me or like some will call it, a disease. A struggle no one knew about except close friends who were either like me or allies I could confide in...and these included people in church.

As someone who was raised in a Christian home, I was nurtured by amazing parents who wanted nothing but the best for their last son aka ‘last card’ lol. They ensured my steps(and that of my siblings) were ‘ordered in the way of the Lord’. I was taught to be honest, forgiving and supportive...most of all, my parents gave me access to education.

We attended a conservative church every Sunday, one with doctrines that were aimed at not just preparing its members for heaven, but also live a ‘fulfilled life whilst on earth’.

I started from joining the children Sunday school to learning how to sing and play three different musical instruments(Violin, Flute and Keyboard), ..I was a senior member of the Choir and Orchestra and I loved every bit of it and was also loved by many because of it...in fact, this was and still is the best part of religion for me.

But in all of this, I was struggling with my sexuality and the worst part was there was no one to talk to about it. Having these type of feelings (within a religion that has always been used to dehumanise marginalised communities which included the lgbt community) was a taboo, an embarrassment and a huge shame. I remember crying in my room after every church service for God to change me, I’d prayed, fasted and even tried taking my life twice because of what people would say if they found out the son of a highly known preacher was gay...the damage to my family’s reputation...the shock for those who looked up to me and wanted to be like me...all hell would break loose. I was living for everyone else but me ...I’d placed and valued the opinions of people who don’t even know me or cared about me over my life, happiness and overall existence.
I attended a Christian university for my undergraduate studies ..got appointed as the Student Fellowship President aka AVS Coordinator or ‘Cordi’ and served in that role for three years...spent every Monday preaching the bible, preaching against homosexuality and even telling people how hell awaited those who masturbate...something I did most nights in my room after watching gay porn ...I was living a double life(which was stressful)...I was a hypocrite and I hated myself for it. This is the reality with most Christians today (but we dare not talk about it )
I was also a recipient of many awards at uni for my positions, campaigns and service for students (my activism didn’t start here in the U.K. ‘e don tey’- only Nigerians will understand that lol)...however one of the interesting awards was the ‘Most Religious Award’ ...won that award three times in a row I think ...but yeah that award only made me feel ashamed of myself because it was awarded to people’s ‘idea of Daniel’...not who I truly was.

Fast forward to my graduation in 2013, I emerged the best graduating student in my department with a first.. then travel to the U.K. for my masters degree and the rest as they say was history.

Here I learnt that ignorance brings fear and hate ....while knowledge and exposure brings security and power. Don’t get me wrong, you can be knowledgeable and still be a bigot...but you get what I mean.
My previous role as a representative of over 18,00 students (both home and international) gave me the opportunity to engage, love and accept people who were different whilst being my authentic self. As humans, we’re sometimes defensive or even scared of things we don’t understand...things we will never understand because we aren’ t affected by them. The only way out is to unlearn our prejudices and learn to be accepting of others, if we truly care and want to get the best out of people.

It’s funny how some say I turned gay when I came to the United Kingdom lol...you don’t just become gay overnight(I wish I could turn straight tomorrow and live a ‘normal’ life) and being gay is certainly not a choice ...while would anyone choose to wake up to death threats, or face discrimination all their lives. Anyway, that’s a lecture for another day.
Everything I am today started from my teenage days..this country only gave me the liberty that I deserved as a human being. Ofcourse Britain still has a long way to go when it comes tackling all kinds of discriminations but the difference is as a gay man, there is no longer a law that will send me to jail for being me without causing harm to anyone.

We need to start having conversations about making our churches and homes inclusive for children who may not necessarily fit into the norms of society. Because whether you like it or not these children exist and will live their true selves when the time comes...with or without you.

For those calling me selfish for ignoring my family’s feelings and reputation, I find that ironic because for over 20 years of my life I was living for these same feelings and reputation whilst dying inside. I love my family and I’m confident of their unconditional love for me.
Coming out to them was the most difficult thing to do but I’m glad I did it. I’d rather they heard from me than a blackmailer.

I remember throwing my phone away after hitting the send button to that message. ‍♂️
I know they love me and I also know they need time. It took me over two decades to accept my sexuality and it’d be unfair of me to expect them to accept the real Daniel overnight. I’ve been on this journey and they have just started theirs...atleast they now know who their true son is.

I always say this, the worst thing that you could do to someone you claim to love is to have them love an untrue version of you. So yeah, I came out to my family because of my love for them. That statement also goes to gay men in straight relationships/marriages...many in churches ..who are too scared because of what people or church members would say...”Abeg who church members epp?” (Again you’ll need a Nigerian interpreter for this Lol)
I don’t expect anyone to accept me ...all I want is respect because I deserve it. For those of you sending words of prayers, I appreciate them but please pray the right prayer ...pray for God to change the minds of homophobes and bigots so they don’t ostracise and dehumanise humans who are different to them all in the name of ‘God’ ...because a prayer for God to change my sexuality is mere fallacy. This is who I am and the God I believe in wants me to be authentic and happy ...not worship him in hypocrisy.

I do not regret my actions and won’t do things differently .. because the truth is, there isn’t a perfect way to come out as a queer person...especially if you’re of colour. Everyone’s story and journey is different. The only regret however is living in a world that criminalises or discriminate against people like me.

Thanks to those who have been supportive, I see your messages (obviously can’t reply to all) and I appreciate them. Whilst I’ll respect people’s rights to express their opinions about my actions, I think the deaths threats are unnecessary because they won’t work. I won’t be bullied or threatened into going back to where I came from.

I feel free and happy and if that doesn’t make you happy because of whatever reason (your ‘religion’ maybe?), then you don’t know me, you don’t love me and you don’t deserve to be called my friend or family.

Reverend Mbaka Blasts Atiku, Calls Him Bureau De Change
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 10-21-2018, 04:52 AM - No Replies

Quote:The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as bureau de change because of the mindboggling foreign currencies that reportedly exchanged hands at the recently held National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), before he emerged the party’s presidential candidate.

Regardless, he warned him not to emulate President Muhammadu Buhari if he is elected the president in 2019. He warned that the ruling APC may lose the next election if President Buhari doesn’t change certain things urgently.

“So let the will of God be done in Nigeria. It is like what I have been saying Buhari change or you will be changed”

Mbaka, who had in his new year eve message of 2015, predicted Buhari’s electoral victory over then President Goodluck Jonathan; said the President had all the human and material resources at his disposal to make the country better but rather chose to play ethnic, despotic politics by surrounding himself with people without vision and not inclined to his line of thought.

He noted that the President has wasted a golden opportunity offered him by God and by implication has disobeyed God.

“What will it take you; change the Chief of Staff, change B, change C, change this and change that; even if it will take 20 Igbo men or 20 Yoruba men to change Nigeria; take all of them. Look at what (Chukwuma) Soludo did in the Central Bank; he has assured Nigeria and the whole world that there is nothing like bank collapse again.

“An Igbo man did this, why can’t Buhari take Soludo for the economic revival and revamping of Nigeria’s economy? And you are busy talking about corruption, playing game with the lives of Nigerians from the issue of Fulani herdsmen to Boko Haram to Jos killings. You said somebody stole, what did he steal?

“Someday, they said the government has spent trillions of naira on social investment scheme and I want to know who are the people they were spending the money on; the Vice President said they are giving N10,000 to small scale businesses and I asked, is this how they will transform Nigeria? You give somebody N10,000 for business, what type of business will N10,000 start?” he queried.

Mbaka advised Nigerian politicians to seek God’s wisdom in their dealings, stressing that they struggled for power at all cost because they lack wisdom.

“Somebody will have billions and want to take the one belonging to the public while hunger will be killing his people. Look at the type of money they shared during the primaries to the extent that they brought Bureau de Change. They said Buhari is change, but Atiku is bureau de change. They were sharing the money in dollars and it was going out in millions of dollars in Nigeria where hunger is killing people; where you don’t have food to eat.

“If they spend such monies to get ticket, how do you think that when they get into power they will rule, of course, they will first recover the money they have spent but the worst is that the money was not being shared to the poor,” he lamented.

Mbaka described the cost of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms as outrageous; saying that if the leadership of the party had conscience, they would not have collected N24 million from people to obtain the forms. He added that a party with conscience would have returned the money to the aspirants instead of casting aspersions on them.

Senator Shehu Sani's Resignation Letter To APC (FULL TRANSCRIPT)
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 10-20-2018, 08:23 PM - Replies (1)

@POLITICSNGR

PoliticsNGR has obtained a copy of Senator Shehu Sani's resignation letter to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sani reportedly resigned from the party after disagreements over the party's senatorial primaries in Kaduna.

The letter read;

RESIGNATION FROM THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS
Sir,

I Present to you my highest compliments and wish by this communication to formally offer to you my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

I had joined the APC and remained with it against all odds in the belief that it will constitute a veritable platform for the realization of those democratic ideals which I hold wry dear, that honor and integrity will be the ultimate ethos of the party and, most importantly, that internal party democracy will always be the norm. However, only posterity can affirm the extent to which the APC has committed to and reflected these values.

As I exit the APC, at this point in time. I wish to formally thank the party for availing me the platform upon which I am currently serving this country in the honored capacity of Senator of the Federal Republic.

I wish the party well in all her future endeavors and ask, Sir, that you please, accept the assurance of my highest considerations.

I remain,

Yours faithfully,

Senator Shehu Sani

How Buhari’s Low Bar Is Elevating Atiku - Farooq Kperogi
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 10-20-2018, 03:42 PM - No Replies

I argued that President Muhammadu Buhari has so lowered the bar of governance that it won’t take a lot for any person who succeeds him to impress Nigerians. So the best campaign against Buhari is to promise not to be like him, which is really sad because there is much more at stake in the task of governing Nigeria than just transcending Buhari’s incompetence and mediocrity.
Atiku Abubakar has started to excite voters by promising to not be like Buhari. On October 12, for instance, Atiku’s statement on Twitter that he won’t take six months to name his ministers resonated wildly with a lot of Nigerians. It reminded
I extensively researched to see which other country in the world in recent memory elected a president who took six months to name his or her cabinet. There was none. So promising to name a cabinet shortly after inauguration ordinarily shouldn’t be a campaign promise because that’s what every elected president is expected to do. But you can’t fault Atiku because Buhari has lowered the bar to an unprecedented degree.

Atiku also promised that 40 percent of his cabinet would be composed of women and young people. Again, ordinarily, that would have been uninspiring, even condemnable, because the promise implies that 60 percent of his cabinet would be composed of old men, which is unfair, unbalanced, and regressive. However, look at Buhari’s cabinet, which he has failed to rejig in more than three years, and you will see why such an unimpressive pledge would strike a chord with Nigerian voters.
See below an excerpt from my February 3, 2018 column titled “How Buhari Has Lowered the Bar of Governance” to gain an insight into why Atiku’s popularity has been soaring in the last few days. Buhari’s unexampled incompetence is propelling Atiku to heights he is unworthy of:

“I had hoped that even if Buhari wasn’t a stellar president, he would at least not lower the bar. But that is precisely what he has done. He has set the bar of governance so low that all it would take for any president who comes after him to impress us is to:

1. Constitute his cabinet within a few days of being sworn in. It took Buhari nearly six months to appoint his cabinet, which is the worst record in Nigeria’s entire history. It slowed the country and hurt the economy. On September 17, 2015 when France 24’s François Picard asked him why he hadn’t named his ministers months after being sworn in, he said ministers were worthless and just “make a lot of noise.” That was a low point. And the cabinet he took months to put together turned out to be one of the most colorless and lackluster in Nigeria’s history.

2. Appoint members of governing boards of government agencies in the first few months of being in power. It took Buhari nearly three years to do this. Since government agencies can’t legally function without governing boards, governance basically halted for more than half of Buhari’s first term. That’s why I once observed that while previous administrations were guilty of misgovernance, Buhari is, for the most part, guilty of “ungovernance,” which is worse.

3. Not be so incompetent as to appoint dead people into government-and living people without first consulting them.

4. Periodically speak to Nigerians through the domestic media, not when he is abroad.

5. Personally visit sites of national tragedy, show emotion, and make national broadcasts to reassure a grieving nation. In my March 18, 2017 column titled, “Why Buhari should learn from Osinbajo,” I wrote:

“In a tragic irony, it took Buhari’s sickness for Nigeria to get a chance at some health. It also took his absence for the country to feel some presence of leadership. Why did it take the ascendancy of Osinbajo to the acting presidency for this to happen? The answer is simple: symbolic presence. Buhari lacked symbolic presence in the 20 months he was in charge.”

6. Have an economic team made up of economists and not, as Buhari has done, appoint a diplomat as an economic adviser and then push him to the gaunt fringes of the Vice President’s office.

7. Reflect token religious, regional, and national diversity in appointments. Buhari won a national mandate, but his appointments are, as I’ve pointed out in previous columns, undisguisedly Arewacentric. His personal example shows that he doesn’t believe in one Nigeria, yet he often insists that Nigeria’s unity is “non-negotiable.” That’s unreasonable.

8. Not lie shamelessly about self-evident facts.

9. Not budget billions for Aso Rock Clinic and yet starve it of basic medicines (so much so that his own wife and daughter would complain openly) and then fly to London for medical treatment at the drop of a hat even for “ear infections” and “breathing difficulties.”

10. Not have a compulsive run awayist impulse that ensures that he travels out of the country at the slightest opportunity and for the silliest reasons.

11. Even pretend that the whole of Nigeria is his constituency-including those who gave him “97%” of their votes and those who gave him only “5%” of their votes.

Sadly, these are really basic things that shouldn’t attract any praise. There is no greater evidence that Nigeria has regressed really badly in almost every index in Buhari’s less than 3 years of being in power than the reality of these grim facts.
And he wants you to extend this national tragedy for another 4 years in 2019? Well, it’s up to you. If that’s what Nigerians want, who am I to deny them the “luxury” to inflict self-violence on themselves?

But what I won’t take is the narrative being promoted by apologists and beneficiaries of the government that there is no one better than Buhari at this time. On the contrary, it’s actually practically impossible to be worse than Buhari because he has brought Nigeria to the ground zero of incompetence, so almost anybody would be better than him. He descended from the zenith of “Sai Baba” to the slope of “Baba Go-slow” and finally to the nadir of “Baba Standstill.” It can’t get worse than that.”

Herdsmen Kidnap Traditional Ruler, Kill Police Orderly In Kaduna (Graphic Photos

@POLITICSNGR

A Prominent Traditional ruler and his wife has been kidnapped during an attack by Fulani Herdsmen in Kasuwan Magani, Kaduna state, PoliticsNGR has gathered.

An Eyewitness to the incident hared the following story and photos below;

'It would be recalled that dozens were killed in Kasuwan Magani an adara community of Kaduna State on Thursday 18th October 2018.

News from Makyali on the road to kachia LGC of Kaduna state, has it that the Agom adara (The royal figure of the people) and his wife have been kidnapped, his orderly and four others killed on Friday 19th October 2018.

During the massacre on Thursday, the media as always portrayed it like a fight between the Hausa/Fulani and the Natives.
The Operation Yaki military personnel were camped just 400m away from the market where the massacre took place but they did nothing until when the local youths regrouped, mobilized and were coming to rescue the survivors then the military stepped in to stop them from saving their people.

This adara chief is one of the only two chiefs among indigenous nations in Kaduna state to order that all traditional leaders in his domain must wear traditional African symbols of royalty - the leopard skin, and dump the Ara Turban. Fulanis and Muslims in the Kachia axis vehemently kicked against it and attacked him openly. Now this kidnapped while he was on his way to attend a security meeting.

Also, news has it that the adara youths could have actually fought and rescue their royal father and his family but the military won't let them do it.

could the Military be colluding as earlier stated by TY Danjuma?'

Customs Seizes Container Of Soup From China Worth N27.96 Million In Lagos
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 10-20-2018, 03:22 PM - No Replies

IT WAS IMPORTED FROM CHINA! Customs seize container load of soup worth N27.96 million in Lagos

The Nigeria Customs Service on Friday said it had intercepted a container full of soup and other edible items worth N27,960,000 being imported from China.

The NCS said the container, which was cleared in one of the ports in Lagos, was intercepted by the Comptroller-General of Customs Strike Force team based on intelligence provided by the intelligence unit of the NCS.

It added that some other items that had the semblance of mushrooms were already deteriorating in the container and could pose a serious danger to human health when consumed.

The NCS had in the past intercepted a 20ft container of Egusi, Jollof Rice, Ogbono and yam porridge imported from India at the Tin-Can Island Port in Lagos.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Comptroller and National Coordinator, CGC Strike Force team, Abdullahi Kirawa, who spoke to journalists on Friday while displaying some of the items seized by the NCS between September 19 and October 18, 2018, said importing pots of stew and such edible items without verification, as they were labelled in Chinese language, could pose serious harm to the consumers.

He said it was high time Nigerians started having more preference for things produced in the country rather than imported ones.

He said,

“How can someone import soup into this country? They were carefully concealed inside the container. I will advise that Nigerians should ignore xenocentrism and embrace ethnocentrism.

“Our quest for foreign goods and items must be discouraged and we must work hard to embrace and patronise home-made goods, including our delicious stew that are prepared from our homes. We need to stop engaging in this type of business.

“This type of soup poses danger to public health, to the economy and of course our teeming youths. If soup could be imported, then what else are we going to do? This is something we need to reflect on. This is a call that this type of importation of goods must be discouraged.

He said there was a need for increased sensitisation to forestall a recurrence.

Even Paris Hotel, Imo Where Underage Girls Operate As Sex Slaves
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 10-20-2018, 03:17 PM - No Replies

Quote:By Damian Duruiheoma, Owerri

Angry youths from Umuola village, Amaifeke in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State last weekend sealed Even Paris Hotel in the heart of the community for operating a brothel where under-aged girls, mostly junior secondary students of Total Child Missionary School in the community operate as sex slaves.

Orient Weekend gathered that prostitutes and workers operating at the hotel were sacked by the irate youths for turning their village that was once prided as a sacred place into land of immorality. When Orient Weekend reporter visited the hitherto lively hotel earlier this week, it was deserted and under lock and key.

Further investigations reveal that the hotel not only operated as rendezvous for under-age sex patronizers in the state but also a holding centre for young girls trafficked to West African countries such as Benin Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, etc. for prostitution.

The cartel’s mode of operation is similar to those that have been reported about innocent Nigerian girls lured into prostitution in Lagos and Europe. The girls, who are mostly from poor backgrounds and broken homes, serve their ‘aunties’ for as long as two years before they are deemed mature to stand on their own.

Orient Weekend further gathered that Amara and Chimma (real names withheld) two JSS III students of Total Child Missionary School were held captive in a brothel in Cote d ‘Ivoire, where they had to sleep with different men, some of them old enough to be their great grandfather and surrender their entire earnings to women designated as their ‘aunties’. In return, the ‘aunty’ gives them a sum they deem sufficient to cater for their basic needs.

The girls were allegedly recruited by Mrs. Ekwutosi Ifeoma Mgbemere, proprietor of Even Paris Hotel who had promised them sales girls’ jobs of N30,000 during the just ended long vacation holidays. She, however, sold the girls into slavery in West African countries.

While Mrs. Mgbemere allegedly fled when police operatives raided the facility, her husband, Mr. Alamezie Mgbemere, their 17-year-old daughter, Chinenye Mgbemere, commander of vigilante group in the village, Chidi Okorienta and one Chibuike Ijeji were arrested and arraigned in court for human trafficking, amongst other offences.

Before the girls were taken into the hotel custody, one of the security vigilante commanders in the village, Chidi Okorienta, who is a member of the cartel, would take the girls to a native doctor to administer oath of allegiance on them.

A source in the hotel told our correspondent that for a newly recruited girl to become a member of the prostitution ring, her ‘aunty’ has to pay the sum of N50,0000 to the proprietor, Mrs. Mgbemere, as registration fee. After that, the ‘aunty’ makes the young girl sleep with older men. All the proceeds from her sexual activities go to the ‘aunty’ who decides how much is returned to the young girl as “pocket money”.

Orient Weekend also learnt that Mrs. Mgbemere, who runs the brothel with her husband, Alamezie Mgbemere and their 17-year-old daughter, Chinenye Mgbemere are natives of Umuola Ofeahia Amaifeke. The couple, it was further learnt, used their daughter, Chinenye, as a bait to get other young girls from the village for their international trade.

To avoid suspicion, no girl from the village was brought into the hotel. Rather, like Amara and Chimma, girls from Umuola or Amaifeke were recruited for export.

According to Chimma, who was just rescued from Cote d ‘Ivoire by the Igbo Union, they were 12 girls that were promised sales girls jobs in Ihiala, Anambra State. But they eventually found themselves in Cote d ‘Ivoire where they were kept in a place as sex slaves.

Two of the girls who had been rescued were brought to court to testify. “I just finished my Junior Secondary School (WAEC) exam hoping to enter SS1. But Auntie Ifeoma through her daughter called us that she will give us work where we will be earning little money until school resumes for new session. To be honest with you sir, I told her I would not go because my father would not be happy to learn that I left village to work anywhere even though my mother is dead and my father is not in the village. But, how we agreed to travel with her is something I cannot explain.

“All I understood was that we were brought to a place that looked like a shrine by the man in charge of the village vigilante, named Chidi Okorienta. It was in that place that the native doctor did somethings to us and told us that if we tell anybody what we were doing and where we were going, we would all be dead.

“We were then taken to Ihiala to a woman I understood her name to be Dada Juliet, who shared us between herself and another woman called Madam Billy. After that moment, we saw ourselves in Cote d ‘Ivoire in a small hotel. I don’t know where they took the other girls to.”, one of the girls told Orient Weekend in court where the perpetrators were being arraigned.

On how she escaped, one of the girls disclosed that when she discovered what she was into she started crying and eventually met an Igbo man, who arranged for her escape.

According to her, the man took her to the president of Igbo Union in Cote d ‘Ivoire, “who used the police to get the woman I’m serving to tell them how many girls that were brought from Nigeria. She said it was only 12 of us that were arranged for her”.

The accused, who are standing trial charges of conspiracy, human trafficking and knowingly allowing teenagers to engage in unlawful sexual intercourse, were arraigned in an Orlu Magistrate Court with a suit number: MOR/169C/2018.

The prosecutor, Elizabeth Azubuike, told the court that the accused committed the offences between July and August 2018.

The counsel to the accused, Barr. Austin Okoro, argued that since the prime suspect, Mrs. Ifeoma Mgbemere was at large, the court should grant the others bail particularly the 17-year-old child who is yet a minor.

But the magistrate, Mr. E.N. Eke, who declined to entertain the matter, advised the prosecutor to approach family court since the matter has to do with minor.

He cautioned the defence counsel to drop the idea of one of the accused persons being a minor because the victims were equally minors.

He discharged the accused, who were immediately re-arrested for onward arraignment in a family court.

Last year, it was reported that 1 000 teenage girls were pregnant in Erkhueni area of South Africa. One of the girls was a grade 5 student – meaning a 11 or 12 year old girl is expecting her first child. The general feeling of the DA is that young girls under the age of 16 are being taken advantage of – a reason behind the shocking number of them falling pregnant.

According to a report by The Sowetan, the Ekurhuleni mayor, Mzwandile Masina, stated that one of the main reasons young girls are falling pregnant is “the cult of blessers”. A “blesser” is basically a sugar daddy, but maybe not more than 10 years older than the girl he “blesses” with gifts and money.

When these girls fall pregnant, majority of them do not return to school. The girls will then struggle to provide for their child and build a future for herself.

Rhapsody Of Realities

ANOINTED TO KNOW THE TRUTH .

Saturday, October 20th

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time… But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things (1 John 2:18-20).

The Scripture reveals that in the last days there’ll be many antichrists, many who’ll come in their own names with false doctrines. A false doctrine is a perversion of truth, intended to deceive and lure people away from the true Gospel of Christ.

However, as a child of God, it makes no difference how many antichrists, false preachers, and false teachers are out there; you can’t be deceived. 1 John 4:3-4 says, “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome THEM: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” “Them” in the scripture above refers to the antichrist, false prophets, and teachers; you’ve already overcome them all.

Your heart and mind are anointed to know the truth. Because of the Holy Spirit who lives in you, you’re able to tell right from wrong, and to discern the right teaching of the Gospel from false doctrines; you have insight into Kingdom mysteries and secrets. No one can toss you to and fro by any wind of doctrine; you know, and judge the truth.

1 John 2:27 tells us, “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” The Holy Spirit is the Lord of the Church, and when you hear the Word of God, the same Spirit in you bears witness with your spirit that what you’re hearing is the truth. That’s why you can’t be swayed from the truth, because there’s a special ability from the Holy Spirit that makes you know, and keeps you in the truth.

Trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your life. Apart from helping you recognise all false and antichrist doctrines, He’ll also cause you to make right and accurate choices, decisions and investments in life.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the anointing of the Holy Spirit in my life. I’m anointed to decipher between light and darkness, and I’m deeply rooted in the Word of truth. I can never be deceived, because I dwell in the light, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Saudi Arabia finally confirms death of journalist, Jamal Khashoggi

Saudi Arabia who offered various explanations for the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi two weeks ago, has finally admitted that he is dead.
[Image: Saudi-Arabia-finally-confirms-death-of-j...asnews.jpg]
An earlier claim by the Kingdom, was that Jamal Khashoggi had left the consulate alive and well. However in its recent statement, the Kingdom stated that its investigation into what happened to the 60-year-old at its own consulate in Istanbul, Turkey revealed that he died following an altercation on October 2.
This death confirmation is coming after President Donald Trump stated that he believes the explanation for the journalist’s death is credible, despite previous reports of torturers severing the journalist’s fingers during an interrogation and later beheading and dismembering him.
The attorney general of Saudi Arabia who spoke on behalf of the Kingdom, in his statement thanked Turkey for its ‘exceptional cooperation’ in the investigation. He also revealed that 18 Saudi officials have been arrested, and are being investigated in connection with the case.
Discussions between citizen Jamal Khashoggi and those who met him while he was in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul led to a brawl and a fist fight, which led to his death.
‘The investigations are still underway and 18 Saudi nationals have been arrested,’ the state prosecutor said in a statement to media. ‘The kingdom expresses its deep regret.’
Saudi Arabia claims the suspects went to Istanbul to meet with Khashoggi over the possibility of him returning to the country. He was trying to obtain documents for a marriage license at the consulate. His death occurred after a heated discussion turned into a quarrel and then a fist fight, they allege.
However Turkish officials said that Jamal Khashoggi was killed and dismembered inside the consulate, by a team of 15 Saudi agents who had flown in to meet him. The Saudi Arabian authorities in its statement, said nothing about the body of the late journalist.

Men now go into relationship for money – Ini Edo
User Avatar Forum: News

Nollywood veteran actress, Ini Edo has raised an alarm over the rate at which men now jump from one relationship to another for money.
[Image: Men-now-go-into-relationship-for-money-%...asnews.jpg]
Ini Edo, who is a Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture and Tourism, stated that while young girls engage in one trade or the other for survival, some men move from one woman to the other for money.
Talking about her new movie with The Sun correspondent, she said;
“Men of these days are not what they used to be. But the issues are not addressed. Nobody is talking about it. That’s why Uche Jombo and I took that up and made it the theme of our new movie.
“Ironically, prostitution has reduced drastically. Young girls now go into different kinds of small-scale businesses like makeup, hair dressing and creams making. They now hustle more to make a living but I can’t say the same thing for men. I’m sorry but that’s the truth. For some men, their job is to move around from one woman to another for money. It’s like a full time job for them and nobody is addressing the issue. Don’t get me wrong, not all men do it, but some of them.”

On why she is into movie production than acting now, Ini Edo said;
“I’m one of the first actors who started film production in Nigeria and also one of the first to take their movies to cinemas. If you can remember ‘I’ll Take My Chances’, I did it with Emem Isong. The movie gave birth to a new actor, Bryan Okwara. It’s my way of giving back to the industry. I had to tilt towards production of movies to effect the changes I had always wanted to see in the industry. I’m glad I was part of the huge changes we are experiencing now. Another film, ‘Knocking On Heavens Door’, I made sure we used new faces in it. That was how Adesua Etomi and Blossom Chukwujekwu came into acting.
“Aside that, If I am passionate about a story, I don’t mind the money being paid, I’ll go for the job. I’m not particular about money but the story or lessons behind the film.”

My two marriages failed because my ex-wives were greedy – Akin Lewis

Nollywood veteran actor, Akin Lewis who made his movie debut in the 70s has disclosed why his marriages in the past ended.
[Image: My-two-marriages-failed-because-my-ex-wi...asnews.jpg]
In his chat with The Sun, Akin Lewis stated that his two marriages ended because his ex wives were greedy and didn’t understand their roles as wives. Here are excerpts from the interview below;
Does it bother you that promiscuity and sexual scandals are predominantly characteristic of the industry?
No, it doesn’t bother me because nobody has said it is me, and it can’t just be me. If you say that about me, people will tell you that it’s not me. We deal with life and it is all about love, sex, family, etc. We are used to these things because they are everyday phenomena.
Have you ever been fingered in any sexual scandal, since your career started?
None whatsoever, from either young or old. I don’t do that. I am not that kind of a person. It doesn’t get to my work. I have never been in any scandalous act.
You have been married twice and both marriages failed. Why didn’t any of your two marriages work out?
You will probably need to ask the women but I think they were just being greedy, they didn’t understand their roles as wives. But if there are other reasons, they will have to explain themselves. That’s what I can say about that. I think they were selfish; they wanted it all and do not understand what it means to be married to somebody like me.
As the man here, don’t you feel any sense of guilt that you probably didn’t manage the relationships well?
No! See, we all make mistakes because we are not perfect, but my people say that cutting off the head is not the cure for headache. That is why I said they were selfish; they wanted it all without thinking of the implications it would have on family. In management, we usually say that you make the error of judgment in employing someone. That is probably what happened. The error of judgment was mine.
What would you like to change about your past, if you have your way?
Still about those marriages, I want them deleted. Yeah, I would like them deleted because it is not funny when you give someone all you have and they take it for granted.
How much of satisfaction are you finding in your present relationship?
Certainly, I am enjoying it, that I have to keep asking God why He allowed me to wait this long.
How did you meet her?
I met her in my friend’s office.
At what point did you know you were going to marry her?
Well, it took a while. She gave more commitment to the relationship and that is what I know. You can easily compare, having gone through two before.

  I don’t know Tinubu’s position in APC – Obasanjo
User Avatar Forum: News

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo who was a guest of a programme titled, “The Talk,” which was aired on a YouTube Channel, “Voice of the People”, disclosed that he doesn’t know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s position in the APC
[Image: I-don%E2%80%99t-know-Tinubu%E2%80%99s-po...asnews.jpg]
Obasanjo who was asked to identify the designations of certain political figures in the country,  identified Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the President and Vice President respectively, while he also identified Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President.

However when asked to identify Tinubu’s position, he said;
“Oh, Bola? Bola is supposed to be the leader of the APC. I don’t know the position of his leadership as you and I are talking.”
In the interview which came before he publicly endorsed PDP’s Presidential candidate, the former President said he had hoped that Atiku would succeed him as President in 2007. According to him, Atiku Abubakar never wanted to be Vice-President, but he made some wrong decisions while in government.
“Atiku didn’t want to become even a Vice President (in 1999). He was elected as a governor,” he recalled.
“My plan was that he would be given a lot of work to do domestically and Atiku even used to complain that I gave him too much work to do, which was intentional because I wanted him to get to know things.
“My second term was that having prepared him for domestic issues, I would want him to represent Nigeria for one year at the African Union, Economic Community of West African States and the United Nations for a year so that he would be fully prepared, but the first thing I found out was that his judgement was not right on many occasions.”

Also speaking on Boko Haram crisis, former President Olusegun Obasanjo said after he left office in 2007, his successor (late Umaru Yar’Adua) mismanaged the issue, which caused the group to become terrorists. According to him, if he was President at the time, Boko Haram would not have become what it is today.
He also recounted how he visited the family of Boko Haram founder, Mohammed Yusuf, and other aggrieved persons in the terrorist group, with the permission of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011. According to him, they explained why they were carrying out attacks.

“In 2011, I went to Maiduguri. This was after Boko Haram had attacked the UN building in Abuja and I just wanted to know who they were and if they had leaders and what their grievances were.
“I found out that these elements of Boko Haram had been there even while I was in government. And they, through their intermediary, said they were there and I didn’t disturb them so they didn’t disturb me.
“They were preaching Sharia and that was what they wanted. But, according to them, when I left government, they were being chased and haunted and they lost a number of their adherents and they decided to fight back and even the leader of their sect, Mohammed Yusuf, was killed and his in-law was also killed.
“They went to court to try and get compensation which was granted to them but the state government did not pay.”

Instagram user @Mannikwen, took to the platform to share a heartmelting story of how a Nigerian boy became an international model, just after he shot for a major brand in London.
[Image: Heart-melting-story-of-how-Nigerian-boy-...asnews.jpg]
According to @Mannikwen, though his family was no sure of what was happening, however a turnaround of events now has agencies in Europe showing interest in the Nigerian boy. He wrote;

I waited to post this today because my boy( I call him child of Destiny )shot for a Major Brand in London today : -So I was in Lagos few months ago and I met this young kid at a scouting event. Great face, perfect skin tone and above all he was super humble. At that moment I knew this kid did not come from nowhere God has directed us to meet (I’m a strong believer)and I will do everything possible to push him out there and make his face known. We groomed him, got a passport for him, went to his family house ( which was very emotional).
The family was not sure of what was happening but they were calm because their child looks happy about it. To cut the story short, agencies in Europe started showing interest in this kid. Adewunmi got his first job shooting for Vlisco x Tokyo James Campaign and to God be the glory as I write this now Adewunmi is in London (, I mean after he missed his flight because of Lagos traffic. God pass them ), he got his permit to work in London. First time flying and first time leaving Nigeria/Lagos.

Adewunmi is now represented by Models1 London, 16Men Paris and Independent Models Milan , ( these are top agencies)… why I’m I putting this out here, just to advice you that if you find yourself in a position where you can help please do. Nigerians are going through a lot, use whatever you have to help someone out there. The world is nothing if we don’t give a hand! P.s specials thanks to @theokem_ for your help through this journey, God bless you ♥️. … swipe to see how he was transformed! I thank God for blessing me to be a blessing ????… Go and be a testimony and congrats on your job today ????- Child of DESTINY!
