Brother And Sister Arrested As Police Smash Deadly Robbery Syndicate. Photos

Three siblings, including a lady, whose police investigation has confirmed as members of a deadly armed robbery syndicate, have been smashed.

Two of the three Adeosun siblings, comprising Tobi and Yetunde, are currently in the net of the Ogun State Police Command while their elder brother, leader of the gang, Ismaila, is being held by the IGP's Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Lagos for another robbery operation that claimed the life of their victim.

Parading Tobi and Yetunde alongside six other members of the syndicate, this afternoon, at the Ogun State headquarters of the Police, Eleweran in Abeokuta, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, said: "The syndicate have been responsible for series of armed robbery and kidnapping across various states of the federation. They decided to shift their operational base to Ogun State, but before they fully settle down for their nefarious activities, the intelligence arm of the Command got wind of their movement and they met their waterloo".

According to the CP, the gang started their operation with snatching of motorcycle which they did to test the veracity of security architecture of the State. "When the report came to my notice, I directed the Officer in charge FSARS, SP Uba Adams, to go after the culprits with the view of bringing them to book" Iliyasu said.

According to the police boss, No sooner than he regained his health, there was a report of a high case of kidnapping a lady/female within Abeokuta metropolis from whose family they demanded a ransom of Five hundred thousand naira (#500,000), before setting the victim free.

It was gathered that on October 12, 2018, the Command received an information about an intending robbery operation to be carried out within Abeokuta metropolis, and the CP put the FSARS operatives on red alert to foil the operation, following which the operatives, having identified the area where the robbery was to take place, laid ambush for the hoodlums and eventually succeeded in nabbing two members of the gang.

A Toyota corolla car, with registration number KRD 72 BB, one AK47 Riffle with 25rounds of ammunition, one pump action gun, 15 live cartridges and two locally-made double barrel pistols with four live cartridges were recovered from them at the scene.

On interrogation, they confessed to series of robbery operations, one of which was the dispossession of serving police officer of his Toyota corolla car at gun point. They confessed further that the snatched car had been taken to one of their gang members at Iseyin in Oyo State.

Subsequently, the operatives moved down to Iseyin where the car was recovered in custody of Tobi Adeosun with the particulars bearing the name of the gang leader Ismaila Adeosun. The said particulars of the car were kept by Yetunde Adeosun ‘f’ which, by implication means that the three siblings are members of the syndicate. It was further revealed that Yetunde Adeosun is a girlfriend to Danladi Idaho, one of the first two armed robbers arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command.

Funny enough, Danladi Isah and Ismaila Adeosun were involved in an armed robbery operation in 2013. They were arrested by the same FSARS, arraigned in court and jailed for five years. They came out of prison in March 2018. The Pump Action gun they used then for their operation was found in Tobi Adeosun's custody as their amourer.

On further interrogation, the duo of Danladi Isah and Olalekan Olawale informed the operatives that all the cars they robbed here in Nigeria were sold to one “Papa’’ in the Republic of Benin.

The CP gave particulars of the suspects as Danladi Isah, 25; Yetunde Adeosun; Tobi Adeosun; Dele Obey, 35 (Benenoise); Bayo Quaheeb, 30 (Benenoise); Oluwatosin Abayomi and Abel Womiloju

CP Iliyasu stated that the success of the operation was as a result of the Command's determination and resilience in making Ogun State a crime-free State in continuation of the Inspector General of Police’s operation criminal and arms and ammunition mop up, adding that the Command would not relent in its efforts to realize "Ogun State of our dream".

Morning Devotional For Thursday 8th November
User Avatar Forum: Daily Devotions

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 8TH NOVEMBER.

ACTING YOUR FAITH.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life (John 6:47).

Sometimes, people confuse faith with believing. Both concepts are actually related, and they work together, but they’re not the same. Faith is translated from the Greek word “pistis,” which is a noun, while believe, on the other hand, is “pisteuo,” a verb which means to demonstrate your faith, to act your faith.

When you say you “believe,” it’s not passive but active; there’s action to it. “Believing” is a word of action; it’s actually “doing” your faith. So, when we say we’re “believers” in Jesus, it means we’re doers of the Word; we’re Word practitioners. That’s why the Bible says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone” (James 2:17). Faith requires a corresponding action; you prove your faith by your actions; that’s believing.

The Apostle James explained the difference between faith without actions, and faith with actions. Faith without actions is dead, but faith with actions produces results. He says, “Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works” (James 2:18). What he explains here is the simple word “Believe.” If I say, “I believe in Jesus Christ,” it means I do my faith; whatever it is that I believe about Jesus is revealed in my actions; I’m talking it; I’m walking it. I’m acting it. Hallelujah!
Understanding the relationship between faith and believing is very important, because they’re fundamental to your possessing and enjoying other blessings of the Gospel. Believing is faith and corresponding action put together. You must act your faith as a believer in Jesus Christ. Your faith calls the unseen into manifestation. With your faith, you see and create the invisible and make impossible things possible. Praise God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the blessing of acting my faith on the basis of your Word, thereby enjoying all the blessings encapsulated in the Gospel. I make progress by the Word today, confident in its ability to put me over and cause me to excel in all I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

James 2:21-24 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth.

Sacked Banker Steals N14m From ATM
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 11-08-2018, 08:40 AM - No Replies

A former banker, Emmanuel Onuma, is currently in Police custody after he was caught breaking into the Automated Teller Machine gallery of the bank he once worked with to steal N14million.

The 34-year-old was said to have carried out the heist at the Garki, Abuja branch of the new generation bank on October 19, 2018.

Parading Onuma alongside other suspects in Abuja on Wednesday, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Valentine Olumese, said the ex-banker was dismissed in August for fraudulent activities.

“On November 1, in furtherance of an ongoing investigation, police operatives attached to the Garki Division arrested one Emmanuel Onuma, who broke into the ATM lobby of a bank located in Garki on October 19 at about midnight and stole the sum of N14m,” Olumese stated.

He explained that the suspect confessed that he converted the money to $33,000 in Abuja and Kaduna for ease of movement.

“Upon his arrest, the following amounts of money were recovered from him as exhibits: cash sum of $28,000; N1,650,120 and nine pieces of Ghana cedis. Other exhibits recovered from him include one new SIM card and flight tickets,” the commissioner added.

Onuma, in an interview with journalists, admitted to the crime, stating that he carried out the act because the bank failed to pay his benefits after sacking him.

“I worked with the bank for 11 years and I was not settled; no benefits, no settlement; but there is no justification for doing something wrong,” he stated and declined making further statements.

PDP Accuses Buhari of Concealing Corruption Allegation against Oshiomhole
Thursday, November 08, 2018  politics

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of concealing alleged bribery and corrupt practices involving the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, who is being investigated by the Department of State Services (DSS).

But in a swift response, APC said it was unaware of the reported arrest and detention of the party’s National Chairman, Oshiomhole.

A report in an online news medium, The Cable, had it that the APC’s national chairman was quizzed last Sunday over allegations that he received bribe money from some aspirants of the party.

The main opposition party said information at its disposal revealed that apart from the billions of naira he allegedly stole from the coffers of Edo State when he was governor, Oshiomhole is facing charges for allegedly collecting billions of naira bribe from some ministers and other APC sources in Adamawa, Rivers, Kano and Imo States to manipulate the 2019 electoral process.

PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, said the party is privy to the pressure from the presidency on the DSS, which reportedly detained and grilled Oshiomhole, to let him off the hook for fears that his investigation would unearth the complicity of the presidency and other key APC members in the scam.

According to him, “This is in addition to allegedly collecting billions of naira from presidency sources to influence electoral officers, independent observers and certain polling organisations ahead of the 2019 election, part of which was allegedly diverted for personal use of some APC leaders.”

The PDP stressed that as long as the DSS and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are not allowed to put Oshiomhole in the dock, the presidency does not have the moral rectitude to speak on corruption.

Ologbondiyan said: “This is especially as the involvement of the DSS shows that the corruption burden of the APC chairman has already become a security risk for our country.”

The PDP stated that the corruption allegation on the APC chairman and the continued official cover provided for him by the Buhari presidency including stalling his investigation and prosecution by the EFCC over alleged stealing of billions of naira from Edo State coffers.

“If the Buhari presidency has nothing to hide; if it is not complicit in the alleged scam, it should allow the DSS and EFCC a free hand to investigate and prosecute his party’s factional chairman, Oshiomhole, particularly now that all issues are laid bare before Nigerians,” he said.

The opposition party cautioned that under no circumstance should the presidency escort Oshiomhole out of the country, just like it did for the disgraced Buhari’s former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.

#JODA Episode11-18

I drove to Kuria's place that morning, i saw school bus parked outside his gate, but nothing was important to me than what I so much wanted to do, I ran up to to his front door, I knocked her and he opened within second, he looked shocked to see me that morning but I wasn't thinking straight, I pounce on him like a prey, I started kissing and offing my cloths, asking him to make love to me, he was still shock as he takeoff his face from me, he tried to push me away still asking me to calm down, but I don't want to he calm, I wanted Kuria, I wanted him so much as I kept moving close to him as he steps back, my top blouse wad already on the floor, it was remaining my bra and my jean trouser, but Kuria was resisting me,
"Joda...Joda please stop this and put on your cloth, Joda stop... Please, what happened... What's wrong... Talk to me... Please Wear......put your top back back on... Stop

" I thought you wanted me, why are you running from me, I want you Kuria, stop pushing me away, please... I need you...please make lo...

"Uncle Kuria.. Is everything okay...is she alright?

I quickly turned and saw this cute teenage boy in his uniform and school bag hanging on one of his shoulder, he was standing on the wooden stairs that Kuria built.. He looks so confuse and looked from me to Kuria...I gently picked up my top on the floor and wore back without shame,

" hey Jude.. You are set for school... That's good... Pick up your lunch pack on the dining table, and run up because your school bus is waiting For you outside.. Yea, she's fine, she's my friend, her name is Joda, I will introduce you properly to her when she's in a better mood but run up now, be good my boy,
"Thanks uncle Kuria, see you after school.

Jude looked at me again, I wasn't in the mood to smile so I looked away, he ran out Kuria, took me to a seat and I quietly sat down, I need to make Kuria to do this with me, but he was trying very hard to resist me, I thought of plans

" Joda what is the problem, my boy was around and he doesn't suppose to see this drama, he is a teenager, and I'm trying to guide him through.. I don't want him misunderstanding this whole thing, teenage mind can work faster than you think, and what exactly happened... Talk to me, you can't drive down this early morning to my place just to ask me to... Hmmm this is crazy... I'm sorry Joda... But what exactly is going on,

"I'm sorry, i forgot you have a teenage around, I wasn't thinking.. I...i ...is just crazy Kuria, you won't understand... I had a fight with my husband and I needed to desperately talk to somebody, hmmm... I thought you actually felt the same way I have being feeling since we had that kiss, all I think about is you...Even when I'm with my husband...you occupied my mind... I...think I'm... Never mind...

I looked at his face, the trick was working, I smiled in my mind... Today with the way I wanted a revenge, with the way I desperately wanted to cheat on Denis I can't give up, I liked Kuria and I'm sorry for making him do this but it need to be done... I didn't want to talk to Binta because she will have some other plans outside this but  I need to do this on my own, I know she will even be proud of me

" say it Joda.. You are in love with me? Isn't it but you are a married woman, you are married, I promise you what happened the last time won't happen again, I can't do that because it won't be fair to your husband cheating on him...and I know you equally love him... From the very first time I saw you I have loved you Joda, but I kept my self in check because you were engage to be married and you will never be mine, and when we finally kissed back then I wanted to pour all the stored up feeling I have on you, i regretted it, and i watch you walk down to be married I started wishing I was the man getting married to you,  my heart still beat For you even at this moment, but is a waste of time because you belong to somebody, you are the only Woman that melt my ego, and brings me to my feet any time I'm around you or I think of you, you got My heart right from the first day...I love you so much Joda but you can never be mine, and that's the fact and i can't tell you to leave your husband for me, God forbids if I ever do such a wicked thing, I will some day get somebody whom i will love with my life, and who will love me in return because I want to have a big family, and a happy one, I came from a broken home, I want something different and beautiful, I will never be a partaker in destroying another Man's own home because of my selfishness, go back home Joda, before your husband starts looking for you, I hate to see couples fight or unhappy, go home and sort out with him...he is your husband and will always be, if you don't love him or he doesn't love you you two won't be together... I'm always here if you want to talk but please come with Binta or somebody, is difficult sometimes having you alone with me, I must say the truth.. Joda, but all the same I'm always be here for you, just go home, is too early for you to be out...

I Sat there not making a move, I intend to achieved my aim before going anywhere, on seeing I wasn't ready to go he wanted to call Binta to come over but I begged him not to, he breathed deeply before standing up to make some breakfast for me but i told him i wasn't hungry, he went to his kitchen anyway I later stood up and follow, a he bent over making scrambled egg, I put my hand under his shirt, holding him, he moan and turned trying to takeoff my hands, begging men to stop it, I did it even More since i know I'm difficult For him to resist me, I took my hands up his body and grabbed his breasts, I was good at what I do, he moaned again and pushed me off, he flee like the story of Joseph and potiphar's Wife in the Bible,  I Sat where he pushed me, when he returned back to the kitchen he help me stand, and apologised, he said I should be going or he will leave the House, I knew he wanted me but he was trying so hard to resist me, and I was working so hard to get him down, as he held me and talk I kissed him hard on the mouth, he tried to pull off but I held on tight, he struggled a bit before relaxing, I finally won, the next thing followed as we offed our cloths,I ask him to take me to his bedroom and he lifted me into his arm and carried me up there
After the whole thing I felt so good and he felt so broken, so later I said

"I enjoyed you more than My cheating husband, this is his revenge for cheating on me with my friend...

Kuria looked at me as if I said the wildest thing
" your husband slept with your friend, Binta?

"Not Binta, he slept with Vanessa, they are lovers, the idiot slept with my so called  friend Vanessa, the girl that was my chief brides maid during my wedding, I caught them red handed, they usually drugged me just to do it...and I plan to cheat on him too,

" whaaaat, Joda.. God...so what we just did was only because of revenge, just because you wanted to cheat on your husband you came to me, how stupid can I be....jeeeeez...why didn't you tell me what you had in mind. Why tell me now that the deed is done... Why joda... Why do you hurt me this way, i felt terrible Already giving in to this, but with this realization I don't known if i can forgive my self, you manipulated me just to achieved your plans it wasn't Even because you have feeling for me..oh noooooo....I'm the because fool to have ... It felt like I took advantage of you Joda, you shouldn't have done this to me I truly love..so much. That pushing you off and running felt like a knife was on my throat, ooh Joda....

His face was ashen, he looks as if he wanted to cry as he  asked me to leave immediately, I try to apologise is not exactly what he thinks but he shouted and told me to leave,
by this time he was actually crying, I felt broken too seeing his tears, he actually tried to resisting me but implore different tactics just to get him down, I felt so ashamed of myself as I walked out, I hated my self for making such a grown man to actually cry,

I drove home, and didn't come down from my car immediately as I got home, it wasn't the picture of Vanessa and Denis on my head again, it was that of Kuria, shameless regretting his action as tears pours from his eyes, if I hard known it will result to this I would have kept quiet and just do it and leave him in peace, i try getting My phone to call Binta, I couldn't find it, I have forgotten it at Kuria's place,

When I finally went upstairs to my room, Denis came to ask me where I have being but I didn't reply him, I was boiling on seeing his stupid face, as he came to hold me I gave him a double heavy slap, he held his face in shock, I started raining heavy causes on him, I released all my anger on him, but I never mentioned about me knowing his plan with Vanessa or about the drugs, I never mentioned last night to him I just caused and fight as he tried to hold me to himself,  comforting me and asking me what happened,

Denis made me to hurt Kuria and I will never forgive him,
as he held me in his arm I poured out all the tears I have held back, he was acting all nice as he tried to wipe my tears, I slapped off his hand,
I'm actually done with foolishness, I really needs to talk to Binta probably she can help me beg Kuria to forgive me for manipulating using him like Denis did to me
This is My wrong, I will Right it, this is my story and it must not end sadly for me,

#JODA
#Episode12

"What is Vanessa still doing here, the wedding has being over for months now, what is she still in my house doing...she is not my close friend, and i don't need her for  anything, she have a place of her own...I only allowed her to best me doing the wedding because you wanted her and not Binta... So why is she still here... Coming and going as she likes...is there something you aren't telling me.  Because I'm not blind to see the way two of you acts around me and in this house...Tell me what I need to know Denis because I'm tired of this whole shit...

" are you in any way accusing me of having something with Vanessa... This house is equally mine, and i can't cheat on you Joda I have already assured you that before now, How can you even be so crew to van..she likes you and wanted to stay around as a friend.. There's enough rooms in this house that can take up to 20 people, or Even More, can you sleep in all the rooms at ones, Binta your friend is shrewd and she hates me as much as I do...Binta has a bad influence on you...van adores you.. Why don't you like her..

"Van...really Denis... Van...is that your new name for her now...because to my knowledge you calls her Vanessa... Stop lying, you look so stupid when you lie like this... I actually saw you kiss her inside that car which you denied when i confronted you, I saw you look at her on my wedding day, instead of me, the signs has being there but I was such a fool in love to even understand, guilt is written all over you and you Smell of it... Why do you have to use me to cover up...knowing well we are not close, you wanted her close by, I'm not a fool Denis..

" Joda please stop it... I don't have anything with Vanessa..you are My wife.. I assure she will leave as soon as this discussion is over...I'm just close to her because she is a nice person...and she likes us...I love you Joda... Stop assuming the worst of me..

I looked at the face of a master liar, if not I caught them red handed during the night they thought they succeeded in drugging me..if not I saw and hard everything I would have believed him but I had a plan for both of them. I pretend like i believed him.. I need them to be caught in the act together..

"Okay, she can stay, I believe you.. Is just that I will so much hate it if you cheats on me...let her stay.. I'm cool my love...I'm sorry for doubting you...

He smile so broadly, and tried to hold me but I dodged it,  the idiots doesn't know what is coming for them.. Let's play this game,

I stop the intimacy with Denis, whenever he ask or try to force himself on me I push him off and threatens him, he constantly reminds me of being my husband and deserve to have me any time but I also remind him that a wife sometimes needs break, and my doctor said I should not have anything intimate with him for now so that the drugs I'm taking can clear my womb for a baby to enter when we finally do it.. He has no choice than to believe the lies,
I called Binta with my landline since i forgot my phone at kuria's place, she said she has being trying to call me i begged her to come over, Denis left very early in the morning and Vanessa Left after an hour, my girls are also out of the house,  she said she was coming over

After Thirty minutes she came in, when we were together, she opened her hand bag and brought out my phone

"My phone, I forgot it at Kuria's place.. He gave it to you?

" he called me over and gave me the phone to return to you...Joda what did you do to that fine man.. He wasn't happy and refuse to say much.. He hasn't even gone out since yesterday and he is obviously not himself... He only asked me why are women so manipulative, they takes advantage of you if they finds out that a man loves them and can't say no to them.... Well I didn't understand where the question was coming from so I told him is not all women, he shakes his head and gave me the phone to give you, I urged him to talk but he said he was done talking, so I want to know exactly what happened Joda...tell me what's going on...

I told Binta everything that happened right from the house to Kuria's place, she listened without a word, after I was done she slapped My face and said I was foolish, I was shocked that she strikes me, I opened my eyes wide and asked her what has gotten into her,
acting like she was my mother, she asked why didn't I call her before rushing to Kuria's house to have sex with him in other to revenge Denis, Binta was scolding me like a child, well I needed it I felt stupid myself after the act with Kuria, after all the whole shouting she held my hands and said I need to be wise and do things right because two wrongs can never make a right, she asked what I achieved now after I made Kuria to go down with me, I left him shattered and full of regrets, he is a good person and he truly loved me, what I did was very unfair to him, she said all this drama could have being avoided if I had listened to her right from the beginning, I would have being more happy with the man who truly loves me, that is  Kuria, than the one that is after my money and properties, Binta talks as if she was send to me to direct me on the right track,
After the talk we called the CCTV Office and sounded so urgent, they came and planted the cameras round the house and rooms, where nobody can ever imagine anything of such is there, they worked so fast and gave me a small iPad where I can be watching and recording everything going on in the house, I paid them off and they Left.
I was happy and scared too because I know unknown things may eventually unfold, but I was fit and ready, a trap has being set for the culprits.
Binta gave me more advice, one which is to act all friendly with them in the house and i should always lock my wardrobe where I have important thing and avoid Denis touching me, I needed to divorce him but first of all let's sees what he is up to. Finally I need to make amend with Kuria, I have to call him or go with Binta to ask him to forgive me, I know he will not like to see me alone, but deep down I felt so betrayed by Denis but I still love him.
I agreed to everything Binta said planned, i was following them accordingly, I must try not to mess anything up,

Everything was going on fine, I make my own food sometimes or watch them from my CCTV iPad prepare it, so I know when is safe or not safe to eat or drink, I also told Denis I needed a room to myself that period so that I can concentrate on my doctor tasks, he later agreed after much persuasion, so I lock my room whenever I intend to sleep just to feel safe in my own house because I began to see I wasn't all safe from the things I hear and watch from my CCTV iPad, my evidence was building up I needed more to nail him. I felt bad for Denis, the man I love, but Binta said I should put my feelings aside so that I don't complicate things.

No day past that I don't think of Kuria and how to face him,
I suddenly started feeling sick every morning and evening, I feel like throwing up sometimes, so without wasting time I drove to My doctor's hospital,
After the check up he confirmed that i was 7weeks pregnant,
it was supposed to be a thing of Joy but I wasn't happy because I haven't being with Denis for weeks now, Kuria was the last Man I met and i have being so occupied that I never listen to my body changes,
Oh my God...I'm pregnant but not for my husband but for Kuria, but it was just ones, this can it be, Denis has being with me severally and I'm never pregnant, Kuria touched me once and I'm pregnant for him

I was so devastated as I called Binta who asked me to come over to her place so I drove down, I felt so confuse, it was a very wrong timing to be going through this. I felt so tired, is very hard to be a human with multiple worries.
What I'm I suppose to do, why now I was almost actualizing my plans

#JODA,
#Episode13.

"Yeah, I'm very serious...I'm pregnant Binta...I'm so confuse..I don't know what to do now..I didn't plan to be pregnant now.. Not now when I'm almost actualizing my plans...I'm pregnant...7weeks gone already... Binta you aren't saying anything... I said I'm pregnant...

" I heard you the first time Joda, exactly what Denis wanted, well with a Baby on the way that will thwart plans for you... But all the same be strong, I didn't want you to marry that man and you finally did, now you are pregnant with his child, he will be so happy, slow down with the plan, things will still work out for your good... I wish I can happily say congrats to you Joda.. But I still don't like Denis but I will love you and that baby as if we came from one womb, Denis wanted to get you pregnant by all means so that he can tire you down, now he has succeeded, but you must not allow him to put you where you don't want to be because you are his wife or soon to be mother of his child, you are still going to divorce that guy, he was never the Man for you, any way congrats... I don't want to make you sad...

"The baby is not for Denis..

" funny you Joda... If the baby is not for Denis, your husband or soon to be ex...then who are you pregnant for... Holy spirit? I'm sorry... I'm not really joking because this is serious issue... How do you mean...?

"Is for... For Kuria... I'm pregnant for Kuria... He was the last Man I met...Binta...

" waaaaat...are you kidding me...oh my God... Joda.. You are really pregnant for Kuria...then big congratulation girl... So happy everything is turning out fine... Denis will definitely loose, he will loose every thing he acquired through you, he will loose you and he will loose your child because  is not his, ooh that guy thought he was smart... He is the biggest loser of the century, we are gathering enough evidence on him... Oh mine I love this...Joda you don't need to be sad..is a thing of Joy... Get up let's pay Kuria a visit...I know you and Kuria have being avoiding each other.. Is high time you face him and apologise because when I see a good Man I will know...and Kuria is a nice person who hates to be hurt... And you actually bruised his ego, but it can be amended...and you will amend it with your self and by yourself... Get up baby girl... Smile, no more sad face because I got you...

"Binta...you don't understand... I still love Denis... I hate to watch him and Vanessa on my CCTV iPad... I stop watching because it hurts so much...I love him and he is still my husband...

" snap out of that.. Did he use jazz on you that after seeing and hearing how he plan to take over everything from you, dump you and have a better life with his Vanessa... You listened to everything they planned...you watch them have sex in your house...thinking you aren't aware.. They use to drug you to do it until you found out... What is it in him that you love... Tell me what you love about Denis... Are you crazy Joda... Or he bewitched you with love...I would have given you are slap so that your brain can reset in order...get up my friend...I know when you see Kuria you will forget about Denis... I'm ready to cure you of that stupid thing you call love...

We later drove down to Kuria's place..he wasn't at home, his car was at the garage, which means he was at his store, we knew he will be there since he isn't at home, we drove down to his vegetable shop,
We didn't see him but he was around in his office, he probably saw us from the CCTV in his office because immediately one of his staff Left to call him we saw him walking toward us, my stomach made a sound... My heart began to beat faster, I couldn't look at him fully on his face, suddenly I felt headache... I rob my forehead...Binta spoke as he met up with us

"Hey Kuria... How are you doing today... We were at your place earlier but got the sign that you will be
at the store... You look good as usual...

" yeah Binta... I'm good... Thanks... Joda...how... Are you... Is being a while I saw you... Hope you are okay...

I looked at his face and he smiled... He acts as if he wasn't angry with me... I replied him with a smile too that I was fine, he nodded his head before looking at Binta, I miss his fine smiling face... I missed everything about him...Binta was right when she said I will forget Denis ones I set my eyes on Kuria, the headache was coming with force... I moved close to a wall to relax, Binta told him I have something to Tell him, he said okay without really listening to Binta as he came to me and held my shoulder asking if I was alright I smiled, Binta replied him, she told him I was just tired... He suggest we go to his place and we Left, he collected my car keys and he drove us down.

When we got into his place, something nice filled my nose, it smells like food, Binta asked what exactly was the smell he said it was cake, Jude did his birthday yesterday, so few of his friends came around and he made cake for them, that the remaining one was in his fridge, before Binta could ask for some he already got it for us, it looks so delicious, it was a fruity cake, I wanted some, i wanted binta to look at me so that i can give her sign to cut out some for me but she was busy loading the cake into her mouth, without a care, my stomach made another sound, i seriously wanted some but he was looking at me and I was shy to cut by myself, as if he noticed and got a disposable plates out and cut for me, allowing Binta to served herself, I wondered how he knew my thought, I couldn't even tell Binta because she may end up embarrassing me, Binta love food.
Kuria is good with what he does, a super good Cook and an interior deco Who runs a vegetable store, I envy him..I envy the woman he will get married to because she will have a super Man as husband, I silently wish i was his wife and not Denis wife, I thought of my baby, my heart began to beat faster, how do I even tell him he is the Father of my unborn child, how will he take the news, I looked at him and he was still looking at me and suddenly looked away, Binta was busy with cakes and drinks that I prayed for her silently for her that it won't have a side effects on her, with her mouth Full she glanced towards me and winked at me, with cake crumbs scattered on her face, she looks so crazy that I boast out laughing, she' always feel at home whenever she's at Kuria's place, she act like is her house and Kuria likes her realness, as I laughed, she held her mouth and laugh too, the scenes looks so funny that Kuria joined in the laughter.
After she swallowed the thing in her mouth she stood up with another plate of cake in a plat with drink, she told Kuria that I have something to say to him, she stood up and walked out on us
The living room fell silent, Kuria who was sitting at the dining with me looked at me shyly before saying

"I missed you Joda.. So much...I'm Glad you came...how are you doing...

" I thought you didn't want to see me again after the last time... I'm really sorry Kuria... I didn't mean to take advantage of you...I know you were hurt...I'm so sorry...

"Yeah...me too, I was so hurt Joda... But later I started missing you, I wished I could just see your beautiful face again, is being more than a month.... Is all in the past Joda.. I'm Glad you came...how are you...

" thank you Kuria... I'm fine just having headache...

"Headache... I'm coming let me get you something, you will feel fine in a seconds..

He stood up and Left and returned with a glass of green content, and gave me to drink,  I didn't want to take anything that will harm my baby, but i trust Kuria but I wanted to know if is safe for a pregnant woman,

" go ahead and drink it all, you act like you are scared, don't be, I will never hurt you joda...is herbal green tea, it will Stop the headache...

"I trust you Kuria...I..I...don't know if is safe for... me...if is safe for preg.....woman..... I'm... Pre....

The word got stock on My throat, I looked at him his face changed, I looked away, he gently turned my face to him

"You are pregnant... Uuuh....is nothing to be ashamed of, congratulation Joda... Your husband will be so happy... I'm also happy for you... Is called for celebration... Hmmm....how I wish I was your husband... I Will be extra joyful....that's crazy....take your drink is safe for you and your baby...
I love you joda... I still do...and will be here for you if you ever need me, is sound very stupid to hear that I'm in love with another Man's wife, I Will get my woman someday, love her with all my heart and she will give me children be cause I want a big happy family...relax Joda and take your drink... Is safe...

I smile and didn't know what to say him, I went close and kiss his forehead, I sat back and took the drink, he smiled expressing his white well set gaped teeth,

I wanted to be seeing him everyday because he is an antidote to my happiness, I love Kuria, he is truly a good man as Binta will say, some day i will muster courage to tell him he is the father if my Baby, today isn't the right time, i told him to come and starts the architecture work in my place and he agreed, atleast I will get to see him everyday,

I drove home with Binta and saw Denis, he bought so many beautiful bouquet Flowers for me, many gifts
I asked him what we are celebrating because today wasnt my birthday
He was so happy and was kissing me all over, he was full of joy as he said that the doctor called congratulating him, he said we are expecting a baby..

I need chilled Soft Drink oh, Who's getting it.......Patina, Tokwe or the inchoate chief???

 #JODA
#Episode14.

"I knew you wanted to surprise me with the news when you get back do I decided to surprise you instead by getting your best Flowers and things you love, I'm so happy Joda, we will finally have the baby we have being anticipating for, doctor knew how we wanted this, that was why he called thinking you have already told me...I love you so such Joda... You are my beautiful wife and the mother of my child...

" Binta was sitting at one corner looking at us as Denis hugged me I face Binta who rolled her eyes and stick out her tongue for Denis who was backing her, I suddenly boasts out laughing as Binta made funny face to Denis, calling him a loser silently that only me saw and understand... I suddenly boast out laughing and Denis thought I was overjoyed over the baby news just as he was, he also joined in and laugh not knowing exactly why I'm laughing...he was actually laughing at his own foolishness,
I felt so sorry for him because he is happy over another man's pregnancy...
Denis was so happy that he even ask me and Binta to dress up he was taking us out, it was very surprising because he was never a friend of Binta, we both said were tired maybe next time, he agreed and said he will go and buy whatever we want to eat For us...
We were already filled up from Kuria's place so I called him and asked him to relax we will have another day to celebrate,

Vanessa came, when she hard the news she came to congratulate me, Binta looked at me without a word, I thanked Vanessa, she stayed a little while before going, Binta boasts out laughing again, as she closes the door behind her, i looked through my CCTV iPad and saw her behind my door trying to eavesdrop on us, I showed Binta and she tiptoed to the door and forcefully pulled it open Vanessa fell on the floor like a bag of sand, Binta acted surprise and said "Vanessa didn't know you are relaxing on the door...thought you are already gone"
Vanessa frown before standing up and walking away, Binta shut the door and we started laughing again,
Binta stayed with me for three days before going, Denis was unable to come to me at night because of I told him I needed my friend to stay with me, he listen to whatever I say and does whatever I demand since he discovered about the pregnancy, even from My CCTV videos, he no longer touches Vanessa at night, which resulted to one of their silent quarrel in the mid night when they thought every one was asleep,
Binta has asked me to go and warn our family doctor over his unzipped mouth, he wasn't the one to pass the news to Denis but me and now Denis will not allow me to rest because of the Baby he thought is his,
Before Binta left I drove with her to the doctors place and cautioned him over letting my husband know anything about me  and the baby, he sincerely apologised and promise it won't happen again, Binta also warned me about having intimacy with my husband, she asked me to try and avoid it until my lawyer serves the divorce paper which will still take time because of my present condition, the truth is I don't know how Long I can avoid Denis,

I called Kuria and asked him when he was coming over, he agreed to come the following day I sent him my address
The following day he drove down in his brown SUV jeep, immediately I sighted his car driving towards my gate I knew he was the one, I already told the security to open gate for him and as I watched from my upstairs they quickly opened  the gate for him and he drove in, I was already down stairs when he came into the House, Denis was around, Vanessa wasn't home, i have already told Denis about one of my friend who is into deco, coming to renovate our House and he quickly agreed and said I can have anything that makes me happy,
Denis was acting all Nice this period,
So I forgot myself and ran to Kuria throwing myself in to his arms, I knew he was surprise but he held me for sometime and quickly released me immediately Denis came down, they exchange pleasantries by handshakes, Denis came to where I stood and gently held my waist as he spoke with Kuria

"In few months time there will be an addition to our family... My beautiful wife is expecting a Baby and she wants everywhere to be renovated, she mentioned you are her good friend and also good at what you do, please decorate any design she chooses, money is not the problem, feel at home here because it Will make my wife happy, especially since you are her good friend, me I'm so Happy and her happiness is my top most priority...please feel at home here and eat or drink anything you so desired, take your time and do your job if it will take you months or weeks just take your time and give her exactly what she wants

Denis bent over and kissed me in front of Kuria Who stood watching and have to look away, I pulled back my face and frowned at him he quickly apologised with a smile and looked at Kuria before saying he loved me so much and couldn't get enough of me.
Kuria smiled and flashed his white teeth as he thanked Denis and me for the job, and for having him, he was acting all formal, I wish hr can look at me more but he was focusing on Denis and only glanced through me,
as we were about to move to show Kuria round the house Vanessa came in, she made a new hair and had this heavy make up on her face, after saying hello to me and Denis who was still holding me, she exclaimed shameless when she saw Kuria

"Wooow...what planet do you fall from...you looked like the his god of mars, you are handsome... I'm not flirting, just saying the fact...

Kuria laughed and thanked her, Denis smiled and said

" you must be getting lots of compliments from ladies, with your body built, I know most ladies can't get pass fine Man like you... But people like you are mainly a play boy, they don't have or love one person...they are Casanovas, players that easily deceive women...
I immediately slapped Denis hand off me, he was embarrassing Kuria Who was just smiling without a word, Denis saw I was angry and quickly apologised, "
"Kuria please don't take offense, I said "people that have your kind of look" I didn't mean it to be offense, Joda I was only joking with him, I'm sorry if that offends you, Kuria my sincere apology,

Kuria smiled as usual and said no offense was taking, we showed him places, he wrote and Drew somethings in his working sheet,
After that Denis took me upstairs, Vanessa refuse to leave Kuria to work, she follows him wherever he goes, talking non stop, Kuria was only smiling as he worked without paying much attention to her,

As I was in the room with Denis my heart was where Kuria was, what if Vanessa seduced him, if I know I would not have ask him to come over and sending Vanessa out now Will be suspicious,
I was still thinking about Kuria when Denis came again thinking I'm angry with him and started apologizing,
He looked so innocent as he knelt down holding me, I allowed him to kiss me which led to another level, I still love Denis, and I love Kuria too, I'm carrying Kuria's child, he doesn't know yet,
Denis thought is his and have totally change to a good Man, deep down I love the man lying down beside me, I have always loved Denis, I don't even know how to stop, despites everything I have seen  and heard from him,  what I feel for Kuria is so different, I'm always happy being around him, for the first time in almost two months i finally lay with Denis, my mind was on Kuria as the whole thing went on,
Kuria came the following day, i didn't know when he left the previous day, denis purposely like kissing me where kuria can see us, Kuria is never comfortable when ever Denis start acting all lovey dovey around him, I pretended because I don't want to be suspected, Kuria always shows his discomfort when ever Denis is holding me,
is being two days Kuria started the decor thing, I  watch him from a distance as he worked sometimes, it was difficult having him close yet I can't get close, because this days Denis refuse to leave my side and Vanessa always want to be where Kuria is,

Kuria does not really pay attentions to Vanessa, I started feeling bad but Kuria and Vanessa, what if Vanessa succeeded in seducing him,
many things went through my mind as Kuria drove in one day, it was a Saturday he came with Jude
Denis wasn't home, Vanessa was swimming, my girls are busy in the kitchen, I allowed Kuria to start work before i went down, Jude greeted me as he saw me, Kuria looked at me and pulled off his gloves, he wasn't happy as he said he may not be able to continue the work, reasons Best known to him, I pleaded with him not to do that, he asked jude to get him something from the car, after the boy Left he said he couldn't Bear anymore, watching my husband kiss and romance me in his front, he said it was a silent torture to him, he losses concentration because of that, as he saw Jude approaching he kept quiet and he didn't say anything again,
he wore his gloves back and went back to work, he wasn't happy, if is just because of what Denis does, it wasn't really enough reason For him to decide to stop work like that, Denis is still my husband
I wanted to know why he isn't happy but I know he won't answer me, Vanessa came in wearing her swimming pant and bra, she used a pieces of scarf to tire her waist, she came to Kuria who didn't pay her attention, or turned to look at her, he was busy working,
I later left them, Vanessa followed me and asked me why Kuria doesn't like her, she said she really likes him  and she begged me to talk to Kuria about her since he is my friend, I agreed just to dismiss her,
In the evening when Kuria was about going I saw Vanessa telling him to drop her off that she was going out, I watched from my room balcony as Kuria opened the passenger door for her as she suddenly kissed his cheeks Kuria's face was a mark of shock as he used his left-hand to clean his cheek and spoke to Vanessa silently. She frowned and nodded, kuria entered the car and drove off,
I felt so bitter, I was jealous that I wish I can tear Vanessa into pieces, but deep down I trusted Kuria but what Denis said about him do ring in my Head, kuria is not a player Casanova, i know is not true, Kuria is hard working, he has being training two street kids for years now, and doing it happily, he is a people's person, Denis is only being threatened by him, Kuria is successful and good looking too,
Tomorrow was Sunday he won't be working I wish I can go over to his place but I can't,
I can't Tell Binta about me giving in to Denis, I know she will be mad but Denis is still my husband and I still feel something for him,
I can't confront Vanessa but Kuria and asking Binta to do that may attract questions,
I'm still in this act nobody must know what I'm up to except Binta,
But how do i Even tell Kuria that the baby I'm carrying is his,
How can I love and still hate Denis at same time, he seem to be acting all Nice and fully devoted to me, why now that I'm pregnant, when I have a bucket full of crabs about him,
Is it possible to love two people at same time because I love Kuria and I feel very bad when I see him with Vanessa,
Kuria won't be around tomorrow but I will talk to him when he comes on Monday, a lot of talk, I just hope nobody will be home except the securities so that I can have enough time

I waited For Kuria Monday he didn't come and I didn't see Vanessa either, on Tuesday Vanessa was around but later left, she was not happy, I didn't bother yo ask why she looks so sad because she's non of my business, still no sign of Kuria,

I called him but no response, after Wednesday morning came and gone I drove down to his place, he was home, and opened the door as I knocked, I stepped in, he wasn't looking happy and I wasn't happy either, and I need to sort things out, today I made up my mind to tell him he is the father of my child, he deserved to know although I still have double mind about telling him but I can't keep punishing myself, I truly love Kuria, or I'm probably confused.
I wish I can finally be happy with the man I truly love, I  planned to get it done with Denis as soon as I can, but his recent behavior is what i don't even understand but I really need to be focus on the task before me, just as Binta will say.

He looked at me fully, and smiled mischievously..before saying..

" Joda is that your way if pushing me off, pushing me to your friend.. I don't, I hate it when she acts like a harlot around me, I warned her about that the day she asked me to drop her off and she suddenly pecked me, I don't go around with every Lady, I got lot to do with my time, falling in love with you was never in my list this year, and don't think i go about falling for everyone, I'm better off than that, I'm planing to take off more Street kids off the Street, is going to be a big project and I have to work hard towards achieving that,  I don't invite every body to my House... I don't just allow anybody into my life Joda, I fell for you from the first day I saw you, you even saw through me and flashed your engagement ring to My face.... Just to scare me off, I took precautions but I don't know how yo stop thinking about you or stop loving you even after you got married, I still don't, you know you are my weakness, I can't say no to you, I have really tried hard to take you off My mind but I just can't, and when your husband goes about kissing and holding you in my presence I felt like I was punched to the face, no matter how cool I appear physically  i was seriously sweating inside, is driving me crazy, I know he is your husband and he is free to have you anywhere but can you please Tell him to keep bedroom things to the bedroom, your intimacy with him shouldn't be a problem to me if I could stop thinking or loving you but you are my weakness Joda, please for me to be able to do my job effectively I will need all the concentration I can get, I almost stop because of you last week, when I couldn't Bear it any longer, is as if my face or where I'm working was always the perfect place to kiss you, I'm only doing the job because of you Joda, I want you to be happy, stop allowing him to taunt me, tell him to keep private things private, I still don't know why he does that Or do you believed what your husband said about me... Is fine though, it doesn't matter because you are happily married and carrying his child, and he kept on rubbing the whole thing  to My face...and now you are asking me if I like Vanessa...

"He is my husband Kuria, but not the father of my... My...I mean he only does that because he felt threatened by you, he just did that to show off,  Vanessa was the Lady he had an affair with...

" so what is she still doing in your place, she had affair with your husband why is she feeling like is all normal and you are so cool, looking at what I witness in your place you seem so fine with that, and why are you still asking me if I like her...I seriously don't understand anything about you...

"I'm gathering an evidence about them, I'm planing to divor..... You won't understand Kuria, let's leave it like that...there's so many things I wish to tell you...but words fails me every time I open My mouth,

He moved yo where I Sat, I sit beside me, he drew me close to his body,  felt so relax lying in his arm, non of us said a word  as we Sat quietly, he kissed my hair and relaxed his Head on the cushion while still holding me, we stayed that way for a very Long time until I felt sleepy and slept off in his arm

When he tapped me awake I discovered that i was in his bedroom covered with a duvet, he carried me down as I slept to his bed room, covered me up, he Sat besides me and smile,

he said is getting late I need to be on my way home before my husband start searching for me because he has being calling my line, Kuria also said he prepared a chicken soup for me while i slept, and packed it up, I thanked him and step down from his big bed to Wear my sandals, he grabbed My legs into his laps and wore them for me, I smiled and went down to take my chicken soup so that I can be going, it was already 8pm, I slept for two hours, if not that Kuria woke me up I would have still be sleeping,
As I got into my car he bent over and kissed my forehead, and said he will be driving behind me until I gets home, and he did, he drove one of his small car behind me wearing a face cap, until I got in to my estate, he turned and drove back.
Denis was pacing up and down when I got home, i just told him I was with Binta after which I visited the hospital for check up and he said I would have told him to drive me to wherever I was going  or pick his call because he was worried, he said he will get me a driver and i told him I don't need any body driving me because I love driving my self

The next day Kuria's wooden materials for the interior decoration arrived, he came with 2 young boys, Who worked with him, they were his student, he was teaching them about the interior deco thing
He smiled at me when he saw me and asked if I rested well I smile back and thanked him for the soup he prepared for me because I really enjoyed it,

Vanessa suddenly stopped coming over again, days turns into weeks, and months, kuria finished the deco and it was fantastic, so beautiful, I paid him but the returned back the money, I insisted but he refuse to collect a dime, I couldn't thank him enough for the perfect work he did, he said he Will be travelling out of the country to visit his Mom, which he does ones in a year and will spend just a month there. I hugged him and wished him a farewell, I Will Miss him a lot while he is gone.

Binta was mostly with me as my time to give birth drew near,
Denis has being so nice, that i don't bother to watch him again on my CCTV iPad,
he came back one day without his car, he came in a taxi sweating and acting as if he was in trouble, I became scared when he said he needed a very huge amount of money because he knocked down somebody with his car unknowingly and the police also ceased his car, because I was the only signatory to my father's company account, i told him the 10million that he was asking for was huge, it will cripple the account i can only give him 7.5million, he held me and begged me to give him the 10million he was requesting For if i truly love him and don't want to see him in jail,  I was thinking so hard he can't be lying with this kind of stuff,
but taking such amount out will affect the account, I didn't know what I to do because of the way he was acting I took my cheque book and signed 10million to him, after i handed him the cheque he kissed me and ran out,
After one week, he was always going out whenever he wants to make call, it was binta that Drew my attention to it, Binta asked me one day why Denis is always hiding and making call,
so i decided to watched him from my CCTV iPad and saw as he called somebody, I listened and heard him say to the person that she should wait for him there he has gotten the money from me, and her cut will be 2million because he only collected 5million  from me, the person argued with him that he collected More than that and he started swearing that he only collected 5million.

already the money has being transfered to his personal account, Binta wasn't aware of this, I didn't Tell anybody because I felt foolish after giving him such a huge amount, Binta wasn't around, there's was nobody to talk to, father Will be so disappointed in me if he was alive,   I almost fainted because Denis used a false pretense to collect 10million, crippling my late father's account, this was the last straw for me, I Will get my lawyer and see if I can get my money back, I'm so done with Denis, is probably Vanessa he was planing with and I actually thoughts he has changed,
I'm calling my lawyer right away, I was shaking all over as I dialled Binta s number instead she will be equally disappointed but she will Tell me what to do, I don't want to make a rational decision that will backfire or have regrets but I needed to get my money back before is too late...

 #JODA
#Episode16

Is Denis... He collected money from me with false pretense... He said he was in trouble and needed money, and he was to go to jail if he doesn't get the money... I was scared Binta with the way he was crying and sweating...so I wanted to reduce the amount he asked for but he insisted on the exact cash he asked  for, he said if I truly love him I will do it...because I can't watch him go to jail... And I love him, I know you will be mad at me but I love Denis and as he pleaded I gave him the money...I use to tell him that my money was also his money...what is the use of the money when I can't use it to save him... And he has being acting like a changed person since the news of the pregnancy got to him... Lots of thought was going through my mind and I gave him the money... Binta... I believed Denis and signed the cheque for him...I just found out he wasn't in any trouble, after you told me he has being hiding to receive and make calls, I went through the CCTV iPad and there he was telling somebody he has collected the money from me and will give the person his/her own share, he even lied to the person whom I think is probably Vanessa, he didn't tell her the actual amount he collected from me... Binta...the sad part is that is my Dad's personal current account, that I'm only signatory to... I froze my dad's account Binta, I can't even explain how Denis got me into doing that but he really got me... I want my money back...I did the worst foolish thing, my father would have called me an illiterate fool, because I suppose to know better, I was trained to be smarter than that...I don't even know why I do lots of foolish things, things that i regrets later...I loved Denis and he knew I love him why will be hurting me deliberately, why... I deserve better than this... I thought he has changed... He has being super nice of recent... And I was beginning to fall in love all over again with him, I was beginning to trust him again... I stop watching him constantly on the CCTV, I thought he will never use something so serious as that to lie, he was sweating and crying... Denis deceived me, I don't totally blamed him...I shared in it because I acted so foolishly without thinking... I'm already 9 months and Will be welcoming my baby any moment from now.. I don't suppose to be going through things as serious as this... I hate Denis... No...no...I so much hate him for being s wolf in sheep clothing... For betraying my trust...I hate Denis for taking advantage of the love I have for him...I so much thank God he isn't the father of my child, For this thing he did...I will never accept him back into my life again, He is a fraudster, and he dupe me, but the thing is i was wide awake when I signed the cheque book, he will never go Scot free... This is the last straw for me, that jail he said he didn't want to go that was why he needed the money...he will rot away in there...Denis will rot in prison, I will make sure of that... He has chewed More than he can swallow... I will tell him I'm not blinded in love anymore.. God...I hate Denis... Binta men... Men are terrible...

"Hey...is only your Denis that is terrible... My James is a good man and of course Kuria is an Angel... So your Denis is the only terrible person I know, calm down joda, remember your condition,  don't tell Denis that the love you have for him is not blind... Show him... Prove it to him joda, I'm so tired if him manipulating you all the time,  You are venting out venom and hating Denis now by the time he comes rubbing his hand on your back and acting like he was going to slump and die....by the time he comes begging you to forgive him...I won't be surprise if you later come telling me...  "Binta, I have to forgive him...because he is my husband and i love him... Don't come telling me that Joda. Please be serious this time and mean it... I keep saying it, if you had listened to me when I told you not to marry that man, you would have save yourself from all this drama, you did not mention the amount Denis collected from you..or are you ashamed to say it...

I told Binta the amount she screamed, she stared at me with her eyes wide open and mouth open, and asked if i was charmed to have given Denis such a huge amount, it sounded so unbelievable to her, but we eventually planned, Binta calmed me down and said we will get the money from Denis, I called my lawyer, who said he was on his way the police, before my lawyer with some police men could get down to my house Denis drove in, he was happy and Even got a set of  bouquet of flowers for me, Binta gave me sign to play along until  my lawyer arrive with the police men, but I was done playing along, i threw him the stupid flowers he gave to me, I asked him where he kept my money, he tried to play drama by acting as if he doesn't know what I was talking about, when I told him that the police was on their way to pick him up, he laughed and said it wasn't possible, my love for him will not allow me to hurt him, I laughed back and told him to watch out, as he was still talking the police siren blew, signifying that they are near by, he got scared and  dialed something on his phone, I tried to get the phone from him but he pushed me off and i landed hard on a cushion, I started having contraction, as I screamed Binta rushed in, on seeing me in pain she turned to Denis who was still pressing his phone fast and gave him a heavy slap, Denis tried to slap but she dodged before kicking him hard on his manhood, Denis shouted in pain,

"Gold digger like you... You can lie to her and steal from her I won't be affected because she bargained for this but if you dare try to physically hurt her or lay a finger on her you Will have me to contend with, I will use my last blood to make sure you rot in hell, gold digger like you... Your cup has filled up with your sins, shameless fraudster that even dupe his own wife, I hate you Denis, and the hatred has even, but what I feel For you now is sympathy, foolish man...

Binta rushed to me and placed my leg on a table, as she was still doing that, Denis was saying, " Joda you watched your Friend slap and insulted me, Binta you will regret ever raising your hand on me, he was still threatening when the police came in with my lawyer, because I was in a little pain Binta spoke with them, they handcuffed Denis who was saying is a family misunderstanding that does not require the police, he said that the Police wasn't suppose to be involve,
They ignored him one of the Police men took him away while others stayed behind with my lawyer, as I played the video to them, only the part Denis spoke with somebody about the money he collected from me, it was enough evidence that he collected money from me through false scheme,.
Binta told them not to mention anything about the CCTV camera to Denis, they later Left and Binta collected my car key and drove me to the hospital.

I was admitted in the hospital, and gave birth after one week, my daughter arrived by exactly 3am on a Saturday, she was flawless, so beautifully created,
Binta was with me all through the difficult moment even after I gave birth to my girl,

My lawyer said Denis was in jail but there was no money in his account, they checked all his account but found nothing but has agreed to pay me back my money, Denis told my lawyer that is family thing and no law is needed to resolve it, "she is still my wife and her money is equally mine" he will find means to borrow so that he can return back my money, he told the police men that he  needed to go and see his wife and his baby girl,
my lawyer asked me what I wanted I told him to tell the police to release him, and after he returns the money he should served him a paper for divorce, I finally made up my mind I was divorcing him,

Denis came back home, and went on his knee, begging me to forgive him, he said he was actually in trouble, he met some 419 men, who threatened him, they said if he doesn't get them such a huge amount of money because they knew my father was a rich Man when he was alive, according to him the 419 threatened to kill me and my unborn child if he doesn't bring the money, so he lied because he does not want me to get scared, he gave all the money to them, that the Police didn't find any money in his account because he has emptied his account to the 419ers and was koboless  before coming to me, so I told him that I don't believe his story, all I needed was my money, he cried and pleaded that he doesn't have any money, I told him even if is half of the money he should bring it or he will be going back to jail, he said he will run around to see if he can borrow to give me, I told him I don't Care where he gets it from all I want was at least 5million, let me leave the remaining 5million for him and his stupid stories which I'm not sure if they are true or not,

It was a tough moments For me but my baby, Luella  was my Joy, she has her fathers beautiful eyes, Kuria was already a father without Even knowing it.

An Etihad Airways bound passenger, Mr. Ademola Adekele, slumped and died early wednesday when he entered the international terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA), Lagos to board his flight.

This is as power outage wednesday evening temporarily crippled flight operations at the airport, which happened when an airline keyed into the avio-bridge to disembark passengers.

Eye witness account said the deceased passenger was about to be checked in on flight EY674 (AUH) with estimated time of departure at 09:55hrs when he slumped.

Akelicious learnt that the passenger, who arrived at the airport early in the morning, slumped and gasped for breath, while he was in a sitting position at about 5:30a.m.

Report indicated that immediately he slumped, an unnamed Air Peace passenger tried vigorously to revive him by pumping his chest, “but the deceased showed weakness and did not respond to the first aid,” before the arrival of the Port Health officials at the airport.

This, witness accounts said, took about 30 minutes before officials of Port Health could arrive at the scene of the incident who immediately applied oxygen on him, but it was discovered that none of his vital signals were responding to treatment.

At about 07:55 a.m., the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) ambulance arrived at the scene to move the remains of the deceased to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for proper medical checks and examination, which also proved negative.

The passenger was with international passport number: A08086990 and was billed to check in at the D–Wing Departure hall of the airport.

Akelicious gathered that last Sunday, another passenger of African World Airlines (AWA) slumped at the same airport, but was later revived by the officials of Port Health service at the airport.

General Manager, Corporate Communications of FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, confirmed the death, and noted that the deceased was yet to be checked in as at the time of the incident.

On the power outage, FAAN management did not explain the power outage at the time of filing this report, but it confirmed that power was restored after over 30 minutes when arriving passengers has to wait at Immigration counters and queues until power was restored

specifically, the Senate want the executive arm of government to peacefully propel ASUU to end the indefinite strike action for the growth and stability of education in the country.

The Senate’s appeal followed a motion by the committee chairman on tertiary institutions and TETFUND, Senator Barau Jibril (Kano North).

Barau said there was need for federal government to resolve all contending issues of ASUU and to result to amicable resolution.

On his part, Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central) noted that ASUU strike was a national problem which has led to suffering of lecturers and students.

Minimum wage: Why Buhari must keep his word
Thursday, November 08, 2018  politics

FORMER vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar yesterday cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari against reneging on the implementation of the new minimum as recommended by the wage review committee.

He said that a government must be trusted to keep its word.

In a statement by his campaign office – the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCO) — the former vice president said the President must keep faith with the agreement his government freely reached with labour and affirm the new minimum wage.

The statement titled: Minimum wage: A government must be trusted to keep its word”, reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement from the Presidency denying President Buhari’s earlier pledge to pay the new minimum wage of N30,000 agreed with the Nigerian Labour Congress and other labour affiliates in a signed communiqué…..

“A government is only as reliable as its word and if its word is not reliable then nothing else about the government will be stable.

“At the risk of repeating ourselves, we urge the Buhari administration to note that Nigerian workers are the goose that lays the golden egg that top members of this government are enjoying to the detriment of those laying the egg.”

Alleging that President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo collect a hardship allowance of 50 per cent of their annual basic salary, the APCO said: “Whereas, the long suffering Nigerian workers, who are the main sufferers of the hardship caused by the incompetence of this administration, do not have any hardship allowance and are expected to live on the unliveable minimum wage.

“We can only change this by paying our workers a living wage as opposed to the starvation wages now paid to them.

“We therefore call on President Muhammadu Buhari to keep faith with the agreement his government freely reached with labour and affirm the new minimum wage.”

Also yesterday, United Labour Congress (ULC) President Joe Ajaero yesterday said Labour expects the National Assembly to fast-track action on the passage of the New National Minimum Wage once transmitted to it from the Presidency.

Ajaero said Labour does not expect the implementation of the N30, 000 new minimum wage to exceed a month.

He said: “We believe that money should not be a problem. If Appropriation Bill can be made on certain matters, minimum wage should also receive such attention.”

He advised Nigerians to continue to keep faith with the struggle, adding that no positive change would be achieved without Labour’s intervention.

OPEC output cuts likely next year
Thursday, November 08, 2018  NEW

                           [Image: pnpfQQ9tzIoLQRpgZv2B8H3TR-2WowejGPVRmXxA...xjQs3=s0-d]
A return to oil production cuts by the Organisation of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies cannot be ruled out next year, a senior OPEC source said yesterday.

The move, the source explained, is to avert a possible supply glut that could weigh on prices.

The hint came on a day that oil rebounded to $73 a barrel after falling to its lowest since August.

The OPEC source was responding to a report by Russia’s TASS news agency that Russia and Saudi Arabia had started bilateral discussions over possible curbs to output in 2019.

Saudi-led oil cartel and its allies, including Russia, decided in June to relax output curbs in place since 2017, after pressure from United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump to reduce oil prices and make up for supply losses from Iran.

When asked whether discussions pointed to a return to supply cuts in 2019, a second delegate from OPEC said: “certainly not the other way around.”

Oil prices have come under downward pressure from rising supplies, even though Iranian exports are expected to fall because of new U.S. sanctions.

Forecasts of a 2019 supply surplus and slowing demand have also dented the market.

Brent crude LCOc1 had dropped from a four-year high in October above $86 a barrel to $71.18 dollars on Tuesday, its lowest since August 16. The U.S. crude CLc1 rose 58 cents to $62.79.

While Iranian oil exports are expected to fall because of U.S. sanctions that took effect on October 5, reports from OPEC and other forecasters have indicated that the global market could see a 2019 supply surplus as demand slows.

But prices rallied back above $73.04 dollars yesterday, the TASS report said.

A ministerial committee of some OPEC members and allies will on Sunday meet in Abu Dhabi to discuss the market and outlook for 2019.

The group, known as the JMMC, could make a recommendation on 2019 output policy to the next decision-making meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC oil ministers, a third OPEC source said. That meeting is billed for December 6 and Dec 7 in Vienna.

“Any serious discussion will be toward the December meeting,” the third source said.

The corporation in a statement from its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, explained in Abuja that this was contained in the August edition of its Monthly Financial and Operations Report.

It stated that crude oil export sales contributed $337.62 million which represented 71.83 per cent of the dollar transactions for the period as against the $283.43 million contribution it made in the July revenue.

It also said export gas sales during the period amounted to $132.38 million, adding that the worth of the crude oil and gas volumes it exported between August 2017 and August 2018, was $5.26 billion.

According to NNPC, a total export receipt of $450.24 million was however recorded in August 2018 as against $382.65 million in July 2018.

It added that the contributions of crude oil in this receipts during the period amounted to $336.43 million, while gas and miscellaneous receipt stood at $101.33 million and $12.48 million respectively.

A further breakdown of the figures by the corporation showed that out of the export receipts, $142.31 million was remitted to the Federation Account, while $307.93 million was remitted to fund the Joint Venture (JV) cost recovery for the month of August, 2018 to guarantee current and future production.

It said that total export crude oil and gas receipt for the period August 2017 to August 2018 stood at $5.23 billion out of which $3.74 billion was transferred to JV cash-call as first line charge and the balance of $1.49 billion paid into the Federation Account.

On naira payments to the Federation Account, the NNPC informed that it transferred N128.40 billion into account in the month under review. It was also explained that between August 2017 and August 2018, the Federation Account and JV received N879.02 billion and N651.4billion respectively.

It said as regards its remittances, that the federation crude oil and gas revenue and federation crude oil and gas lifting, are broadly classified into equity export and domestic crude which are lifted and marketed by it and the proceeds remitted into the Federation Account.

NNPC further informed that equity export receipts, after adjusting for JV cash-calls, are paid directly into the Federation Account domiciled in Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

It also noted that domestic crude oil of 445,000 barrels per day (bd) was allocated for refining to meet domestic products supply, and payments were effected to the Federation Account by it after adjusting crude and product losses, as well as pipeline repairs and management costs incurred during the period.

Nigerians have been warned again against using fake travel agencies in a bid to travel abroad for greener pastures.

A gruesome video currently circulating online shows two ladies who were stripped Unclad and tortured by some unidentified men who locked them up in a room as they wept and begged for their lives.

According to a Facebook user identified as Francis who shared the report, the ladies in the video are victims of fake travel agencies which are in Nigeria, Ghana and other African countries as they promise better life to citizens abroad.

According to reports, some of the fake agencies will arrange the travel and necessary documents only to kill their clients on getting to their destination and remove their body parts which are later sold.  Some of the agencies also assault and beat their clients or even use them as slaves after reaching the supposed promise land.

Few months ago, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) advised all intending travellers to stop patronising unregistered travel agencies.

The authority said this is due to the recent increase in reports of fraudulent practices by unregistered travel agencies.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) therefore reiterated that prospective passengers should do business only with travel agencies registered with the Regulatory Authority.

Quote:Akpobome Samuel who allegedly killed his mother, Mrs Gift Samuel by strangulation and slept with the corpse at the small town of Ologbo, Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo state has given reasons for the dastardly act.

Samuel who was among 84 suspects paraded by the police for various crimes ranging from cultism, kidnapping, rape, armed robbery, murder and burglary yesterday in Benin explained that it was for money making rituals.

The other murder suspect was 20-year-old Odion Jimoh, who beheaded a man identified as Asuelimhen Atogwe, at Ayogwiri, in Edo north.

The teenage murder suspect who confessed to his crime said he acted on the instructions of a witch doctor whom he contacted for money rituals.

He said the voodoo doctor told him that after killing his mother, he should sleep with her corpse in order to get rich and that he willingly complied with his instruction and killed her.

Akpobome who said he worked in a sachet water packaging factory in Ologbo, said he was caught by his grandmother who came to knock on his door having waited patiently for the deceased to accompany her to church.

It was gathered that the grandmother caught the suspect in the act while having s3x with his mother.

He said he had only slept with the corpse once said his grandmother raised the alarm that attracted the attention of the people around when she saw the lifeless body of his mother on the floor.

“The native doctor told me to kill my mother and sleep with her corpse, but he did not tell me the number of days to sleep with her. He told me to keep her dead body inside the room for two days but I was caught when I could no longer keep it.

“I did not know that my grandmother was sitting outside. She opened the door and sighted me in the corpse inside the room and raised the alarm that drew the attention of the public.

“My mother did not offend me. I killed her because of the money,” he said.

On his part, Odion Jimoh who beheaded his victim said he did not know what came on him before he committed the murder.

“Honestly, the man did not do anything to me. I don’t know what came over me,” he said.

Police sources had it that the victim who worked as a carpenter was contracted to work at a house where met the suspect weeding, and asked him why he was not at the community age-group festival.

It was gathered that the suspect who was already high after smoking substance suspected to be marijuana, felt slighted and humiliated by the victim’s action, and went after him, hit him on the neck with a wooden object before beheading him with a cutlass.

The source added that the suspect was later arrested at an uncompleted building after the man who contracted the victim raised the alarm when he discovered the lifeless body of the man and his head beside him.

Quote:A Captain in the Operation Whirl Stroke stationed in Benue, Zakari Sani, has been wounded in an ambush, alongside other officers.

The Defence Headquarters In a series of tweets via its verified Twitter handle @DefenceInfoNG on Tuesday said that “a very courageous and hardworking officer, Zakari Sani, was ambushed alongside other soldiers in Benue, while on Operation Whirl Stroke”.

It noted that Sani was badly wounded and was evacuated to Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, where he was initially stabilised and later evacuated to Ceda Crest Hospital in Abuja, for higher management outside of the operations theatre.

“Ceda Crest Hospital is one of the best hospitals in the country as at today.

The team of doctors and other medical staff, including expatriates, are attending to the officer whose situation, though serious, is getting better by the day,” the tweet said. The DHQ said that Sani has undergone several medical procedures which have helped to stabilise him further.

It denied allegation that the wounded officer had been taken out of the country, saying, “Information given about Captain Zakari may be intended to ensure he gets the best of medical attention, but the narrative is not true.

“If he had been hurriedly taken out of the country without the stabilisation treatment according to medical advice, the outcome may not be certain.”

Gunmen kill businessman, abduct daughter in Katsina
Wednesday, November 07, 2018 NEW

Gunmen struck yesterday morning, killing a popular maize merchant, Alhaji Nasiru Maimasara, and abducted his 15-year-old daughter, Aisha at Gachi quarters in Kankia local government area of Katsina State.

Narrating the incident, an eyewitness told newsmen, “when the gunmen invaded the area, they started shooting sporadically, while moving to the victims’ residence at Gachi quarters. The bandits shot the victim when he attempted to run and went away with his daughter. The victim was later taken to Kankia General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.”

The incident, which occurred at about 2:00a.m. is coming eight months after unknown gunmen abducted a 14-year-old girl and daughter of another businessman in the same council area.

Also, yesterday’s incident comes four days after a whole village was made to flee their homes and find refuge at a school building in Batsari town, Batsari local government area due to activities of bandits.

The bandits are reported to be those operating in neighbouring Zamfara State where the military and other related security bodies have been frustrating their activities.

A source said that the gunmen who shot and killed the businessman had gained access into his house after forcing their way through a garage door.

He added that the gunmen also fired many shots into the air while the operation lasted to scare away residents that might want to act heroic. It was however learnt that no ransom demand had been made on the abducted girl by the gunmen.

Spokesman of the police command in the state, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident, saying the command has deployed its Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and State Investigation Bureau (SIB) to track down and rescue the victim.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, has confirmed the kidnap of his brother, wife and two others on Kabba-Oshokoshoko road in the state.

Kolawole, who disclosed this during the house plenary sitting yesterday, said the yet-to-be-identified hoodlums appeared in army and police uniforms and later demanded ransom. The speaker, while drawing the attention of the state government and security agencies to the rampant kidnapping, which has resurfaced in the state, said the incident happened on Monday.

Kolawole, who brought this to a fore in a motion of urgent public importance, which was read by Barrister Oluwatoyin Lawal (PDP Yagba West), called on security agencies to quickly swing into action in rescuing the victims from their abductors.
He urged the state government to further equip the police and other security agencies with more high technology gadgets that will help towards stemming down crimes and criminalities in Kogi.

In another development, the Niger State Police Command has arrested a man, Garba Maru, for killing his neighbour with a cutlass. Maru who was arrested in New Bussa in Borgu Local Government Area of the state, was trailed and arrested by the police operatives attached to Borgu Division on a tip-off while trying to escape.

The suspect was said to have killed his neighbour, Umar Mohammed with a cutlass over some misunderstanding between them for a period of time.

“I hardly forgive somebody that offends me, I will always remember and ready to kill the person at any given time. I am such a person if you wrong me January if I see you by December, I will retaliate,” Maru explained.

Kaduna Traders Reject El-rufai's Offer To Rebuild Their Burnt Shops
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-07-2018, 03:31 PM - No Replies

Quote:There was a drama at the Central Market (Abubakar Gumi) in Kaduna, Kaduna STate, on Tuesday as traders in the market openly rejected the offer of Governor Nasir El-Rufai to rebuild their dilapidated shops.

It was gathered that the Governor made an unscheduled visit to the market on Tuesday after he was told that Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, had visited the market earlier on Monday.

The Governor was said to have quickly arranged for a visit to the same market. The traders interjected the Governor while addressing the crowd and booed him, shouting: 'We Don't Want, We Don't Want, You Can Only Do One Term'.

Sani had visited the market on Monday at 11am as part of his street parliament initiative to engage the people of his constituency and interact freely with them.

He was warmly received in the market, as people kept praising him for identifying with the course of the common man in the discharge of his national activities in the Senate.

Sani recently donated the sum of N1million to the victims of fire incident at the railway station market in the state. The senator also granted two-year scholarship to the children of the traders who died in the fire incident.

El-Rufai had recently, in Abuja, dared Sani to test his popularity by going to the central market, and see if he would leave unhurt. He had also accused the lawmaker of working against the party, saying the people were not happy with him.

Last week, el-Rufai announced the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Primary Health Care Agency, Dr. Hadiza Abubakar Balarabe, as his running mate in the 2019 general elections, a decision that has been widely condemned by the Christian community in the state.

INEC laments multiple court orders on party primaries
Wednesday, November 07, 2018 politics

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has lamented the “multiple and contradictory orders from courts” arising from political parties’ direct and indirect primaries.

INEC National Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, said the development was unhealthy and would not advance the nation’s democracy.

He said: “We don’t want a situation where they would say the commission is disobeying court orders. We want to deliver credible elections in 2019 to move our democracy forward.”

Yakubu, who was represented by the National Commissioner on Voter Education and Information, Dr. Festus Okoye, spoke at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), during a Campus Outreach organised by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES).

He dismissed rumours that it’s National Commissioners; Amina Zakari has refused to leave office, even after her tenure had elapsed.

The chairman disclosed that to enhance the elections next year, all delivery vans conveying sensitive electoral materials would be tracked from the point of departure, and would be demobilised where necessary.

Meanwhile, the INEC chairman will on November 15, deliver a lecture to mark the sixth anniversary of Realnews magazine and publications.

Yakubu is expected to speak on: “Political Transitions and Africa’s Economic Development,” at the event scheduled for Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos at 10:a.m.

Publisher/Editor of the online publication, Maureen Chigbo, said the theme was influenced by contemporary political, economic, security and socio-cultural challenges facing Africa.

These challenges, she said, include Nigeria, which is regarded as the “Giant of Africa,” especially as it prepares for general elections in 2019.

Chigbo disclosed that Yakubu was chosen to deliver the lecture because of his world-class experience, academic antecedents and current position as INEC chairman.

She said the event would also witness interactive sessions by a panel of discussants to speak on Africa’s maturing democratic and economic culture.

Among them are Dean, School of Education, Behavioural & Social, and a Professor of Economics at the College of Southern Nevada, Nevada System of Higher Education, Charleston Campus, Las Vegas, U.S.A, Dr. Charles Okeke, Director, Africa and West Regional Programme and Liaison Office of the African Union, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Prof. Adebayo Olukoshi, and Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Bayelsa, Nigeria, Engr. Simbi Wabote.

The publisher added that the magazine would inaugurate some distinguished personalities into the prestigious Realnews Hall of Fame.

The hall, according to her, is exclusively reserved for guest speakers, discussants; Realnews book reviewers and chairpersons at its anniversary lecture series.

The 65-year-old leader of Shiite Islamic sect, Sheik Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife have been denied bail by the Kaduna High Court.

The Court sitting on Wednesday denied the bail application filed by counsel to the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Gideon Kurada, said in his ruling that the accused persons have not shown any substantial medical evidence to grant them bail in their written application.

The judge however ordered that the two accused persons should remain in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) throughout the period of their trial.

The matter has been adjourned to January 22, 2019, for accelerated hearing.

The IMN leader is facing trial for alleged murder, culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace, among other charges.

El-Zakzaky and his wife were first arraigned on May 15, 2018, following their arrest in Zaria, in December 2015.

When the matter came up for hearing on October 4, 2018, the presiding judge, Justice Gideon Kurada adjourned his ruling on their bail application to November 7, 2018 due to the absence of the IMN leader and his wife in court as a result of the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the state on that date

62-year-old Man Arrested For Fingering Neighbour’s 10-year Old Daughter - Photo

Quote:A 62-year old Niger Republic national resident in Nigeria has been arrested for inserting his finger into his neighbour’s 10-year old daughter private part.

He explained that he knew that he cannot penetrate the 10-year old because of the size of his manhood and he decided to use his finger on her private in order to satisfy his sexual desire.

The police did not disclose where the incident happened within the Lagos metropolis but the suspect was paraded with other suspected criminals arrested across the State at the Command.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the old man, Lukman Haruna, was arrested by the police for sexual molestation of the victim and paraded at the State Command in Lagos.

This was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal at the Command on Monday.
The police boss said that Haruna was being investigated operatives of the Gender Section of the Command.

He said that the Command commenced the investigation on 2nd November, 2018, following the report of the defilement of the victim by Haruna who was the daughter of his neighbour.

Edgal said the act was exposed after one of their neighbours discovered a bloodstain around the 10-year old’s private part. The woman confronted her and the victim told her what happened.

She revealed that the suspect lured her into his apartment, opened her pant and inserted his finger into her private part. It was during the act that the suspect forced his finger into her which caused the drop of blood from her private part.

CP Edgal said that the suspect will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.

Peter Obi Never Demolished Mosques In Anambra, Northern Police Chiefs Says
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-07-2018, 12:00 PM - No Replies

• Call for Support for Obi’s Nomination

Three former Commissioners of Police (CPs) in Anambra State during the tenure of Mr. Peter Obi as governor of the state have exonerated him from the allegations that he demolished mosques and sacked non-indigenes, particularly northerners from the state.

These allegations are being propagated by the opposition against him on social media.

Speaking on at different occasions on the subject-matter, they were unanimous in rating Obi as a fair, humane and detribalised Nigerian, “whose passion as governor was for the good of all within his jurisdiction.”

Dismissing the news of demolition of mosques as a lie and propaganda obviously planted by the opposition to discredit the Atiku/Obi presidential ticket, they called on all well-meaning Nigerians, including Northern youths, to disregard the news as fake, urging them to always try as much as possible to verify report before believing them.

The former CPs in Anambra State, Gwary Usman, Alhaji Amusa Bello and Philemon Leha, who later retired in higher ranks, expressed concern over the spate of fake news, especially on social media, targeted at impugning the integrity of credible Nigerians, incidentally, the three ex-police officers are northerners who served during Obi’s eight years as governor.

Alhaji Amusa Bello, who was the CP in Anambra State from 2006 to 2010, described the allegation as laughable and a figment of the author’s imagination.

He also advised rumour mongers and purveyors of falsehood to desist from such acts, and support whoever God anointed to showcase what modern politics, leadership and management should represent.

Bello observed that it was unthinkable for anyone to associate Obi with violence or rascality as he never demolished any Mosque nor asked anyone, aside from criminals and kidnappers, to leave the state.

According to him, “I call on those behind this rumour to desist from that and look for fact. They should stop this ‘pull-him-down syndrome’ that will never take them anywhere good. Obi has a lot of credentials and several attributes that favour him in his aspiration. He dresses simple among others. Let them look for fact. He has emerged vice presidential candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; it’s God that ordained him. Let them support him.”

Similarly, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Philemon Leha, asserted that the Obi he worked with could not have and did not demolish Mosques nor asked non-indigenes to leave the state.

Visibly upset by the spurious allegation against Obi, he said: “I am from the North and I know what I am saying. Northerners are among the people building the economy of Anambra State and in what circumstances could a governor have sacked them? Numbering millions, they are practically everywhere in the state, including Awka, Amansea, Onitsha, Nnewi and many other towns and communities. Let Nigerians be assured that the allegation is a lie.”

Usman, who is a retired AIG, described the allegation as “false and wicked.” According to him, “It is not true. The allegation is false. I was in the state as CP and I was better placed to know the truth. Throughout the time I was in the state, nothing like that ever happened.”

Surprised at the gullibility of the people, he submitted that “Peter Obi is a gentleman. I can vouch for him. He is a detribalised citizen. I can tell you authoritatively that even if I wake up from slumber, I will tell you that Obi did not and can never hate any Northerner. I am surprised that our people are being deceived.”

A 54-year-old man has killed his own brother and wife, Olga Sukhanova, after catching them having sex in his house in Ufa, Russia.

According to reports, Oleg Kirkunov had woken up in the middle of the night because he was hearing noises. As soon as he caught them, he went to take his gun and shot both, killing them instantly.

He then called the police to report the incident. According to him, his 65-year-old brother Evgeny was invited by the couple to their home for a meal and drinks. He later went to bed in the couple's spare room.

When he woke due to the noise, he saw that his wife was not in bed, he then went to the room where his brother slept and saw his wife having sex with him.

APC Crisis: South-West Governors Divided Over Bid To Remove Oshiomhole - Punch
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-07-2018, 11:53 AM - No Replies

Quote:South-West governors are divided over the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshimohole, The PUNCH has learnt.

All the six governors from the zone are members of the APC.

Our correspondents learnt that while some are committed to ensuring Oshiomhole’s removal as a result of the crisis generated by the party’s recent primary elections, others are against the alleged move.

Those against Oshiomhole’s removal are said to be the governors in the camp of the party’s National Leader who is also a former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

They include the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode; Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola; and Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; and Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, have been at loggerheads with Oshiomhole over the failure of the party’s National Working Committee to endorse their preferred candidates in both governorship and National Assembly primary elections.

The two governors, in a last-minute move, had met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday.

They were however joined by Fayemi, an indication that the Ekiti State Governor may be on the same page with his colleagues from Ogun and Ondo.

However, a source close to Fayemi said the former minister did not have issues with the Oshiomole-led National Working Committee.

The source however said that both Amosun and Akeredolu reminded him that the former governor of Edo State could have moved against him if he (Oshiomhole) had been in office when the primary election that produced him as the APC governorship candidate was held.

The source added that both Amosun and Akeredolu played major roles to ensure that the rules were not bent when there were moves to change the mode of the primary that produced Fayemi midway.

The source also said that the two governors of Ondo and Ogun states also decided to seek the intervention of Fayemi because of his closeness to the President.

The source said, “You are aware that there were moves to change from indirect to direct primary when hoodlums hijacked the first process of the APC governorship primary where Fayemi was leading.

“Perhaps, this would have been successfully done if Oshiomhole were to be in office. We know those behind the plot then. The same set of people may have been the ones working against the interest of both Amosun and Akeredolu.

“Don’t forget that Amosun and Akeredolu also played major roles in the campaigns and election of Fayemi. While there were those who merely sang songs at the party’s mega rally where the President was present, these two men campaigned vigorously for the APC and Fayemi. Therefore, the governor might as well consider it immoral to abandon them when they are facing issues in their states.”

A Presidency source also said it was clear that the issue had divided the governors.

He said, “We all know the position of Governor Amosun and Governor Akeredolu as far as the crisis and the fate of the national chairman is concerned.

“Despite their calls for the removal of the party chairman, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has made his position clear that Oshiomhole goes nowhere. With Tinubu’s position, you will expect naturally that Ambode and Aregbesola won’t join Amosun and Akeredolu in this journey. You also expect Ajimobi not to join the fray.

“I am not too sure of where Fayemi belongs, especially because he visited the President with Amosun and Akeredolu but it is clear that meeting was against Oshiomhole and the NWC.”

A source close to Aregbesola who spoke on condition of anonymity also agreed that there was no way the governor will be part of a meeting “that will be against Asiwaju or his interest.”

Buhari Has Not Endorsed N30,000 Minimum Wage – Presidency

The Presidency has frowned at the misinterpretation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s remarks when he received the report of the Tripartite Committee on the Review of National Minimum Wage from the committee’s chairman, Ama Pepple, on Tuesday.

A presidential source, who preferred not to be named, said the president did not endorse N30,000 as proposed by committee as being reported by some sections of the media.

He, however, stated that President Buhari had expressed his commitment to ensuring the implementation of a new National Minimum Wage. “But the president’s speech at the event was immediately made available to the media and nowhere indicated that the president endorsed N30,000 Minimum wage. “It is not the duty of the president only to endorse a new national minimum wage. The process involves the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the National Economic Council (NEC) and the National Assembly. “It is imperative for us to always avoid misinterpreting a written speech,’’ he added. At the submission of the report of the Tripartite Committee that negotiated a new minimum wage with labour and other stakeholders, President Buhari pledged that the Federal Government would soon transmit an Executive bill (on National Minimum Wage) to the National Assembly for its passage within the shortest possible time. He said: “Our plan is to transmit the Executive bill to the National Assembly for its passage within the shortest possible time.

“I am fully committed to having a new National Minimum Wage Act in the very near future.’’ Buhari also expressed delight that the committee had successfully completed its assignment in a peaceful and non-controversial manner. “Let me use this opportunity to recognise the leadership of the organised labour and private sector as well as representatives of State and Federal Governments for all your hard work. “The fact that we are here today, is a notable achievement. “As the Executive Arm commences its review of your submission, we will continue to engage you all in closing any open areas presented in this report. “I, therefore, would like to ask for your patience and understanding in the coming weeks.” The President, however, enjoined the leadership of the labour unions as well as the Nigerian workers to avoid being used as political weapons. “May I therefore, employ workers and their leaders not to allow themselves to be used as political weapons,’’ he said. In her remarks, Pepple explained that the recommendation made by the committee was predicated on the high cost of living, occasioned by the exchange rate as well as the rising inflation rate in the country. She said that the committee also considered micro-economic indicators including the revenue and expenditure profile of the government. Pepple expressed the hope that the implementation of the recommended minimum wage would boost the purchasing power of the working class, increase consumption expenditure, and stimulate economic growth

Sanwo-olu Meets CAN Chairman, Promises To Lift The Poor Out Of Poverty
User Avatar Forum: News

@POLITICSNGR

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday expressed regrets at the level of poverty plaguing the society and said all hands must be on deck to bring the affected citizens out of the acute poverty lines.

Sanwo-Olu stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola as part of his ongoing consultation with stakeholders in the State.

Welcoming his guest, Apostle Bamgbola said there is no gain saying that the APC candidate has fought a good battle during the primary election, noting that there is nothing for him to prove again other than to seek the presence of God in other tasks ahead.

While acknowledging the good relationship that existed between him and Mr. Sanwo-Olu, Apostle Bamgbola emphatically stated that he knows the APC candidate as a man of God and as such he will not fail if he is given the opportunity to govern Lagos State.

Drawing reference from the Holy Bible, the CAN chairman said ‘’when the righteous rules, the people rejoice’’. He said that the testimonies from numerous people who have come in contact with the APC candidate shows clearly that he is truly the choice of God.

He, however, urged Sanwo-Olu to seek people’s understanding in every project he undertakes, saying that with understanding, the citizens are easy to administer and they will enjoy him as governor.

Sanwo-Olu thanked the CAN leader for agreeing to host him and his team in his house. He said his emergence as APC Governorship candidate in Lagos State is certainly the will of God.

‘’The moment God says this is the way, there is nothing anyone can do about it. The whole governorship race played out to me like a moving train and there was no stopping it’’. Sanwo-Olu said.

Alluding to the touch of God in the project, Sanwo-Olu wondered why the entire fabrics of the All Progressives Congress both at home and in the diaspora rose in unison and spoke with one voice to support his candidacy. He said the episode has continued to humble him and has made him get closer to God for the uncommon favour He has given him.

‘‘Who am I? What do I have to have got this kind of Godly favour? But I know one thing and that is, when a man is humble, he tends to have everything’’. Sanwo-Olu affirmed.

The APC standard bearer prayed for God’s wisdom, understanding and guidance in all that he will embark on if elected as Governor of Lagos in 2019. He said his major concern is always about the poor people, those who don’t have voice but who should be heard, the people at the bottom of the pyramid whose interest is how to get basic food a day.

He promised not to let the people down.

Skye Bank’s Takeover Saved 6,000 Jobs, N949bn Deposits – NDIC
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-07-2018, 11:22 AM - No Replies

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has said the takeover of the defunct Skye Bank PLC has been able to save more than 6,000 jobs and over NN949.60 billion in customers’ deposits as at June 2018.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the NDIC had in September this year withdrew the operating licence of Skye Bank and transferred its assets and liabilities to a newly licenced bank, Polaris Bank owned by the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), for failure of its shareholders to recapitalise the bank.

Speaking at the NDIC special day at the ongoing International Trade Fair in Lagos, the managing director and chief executive of NDIC, Umaru Ibrahim, noted that the option of a bridge bank was reached as it is less costly to the macro economy.

Explaining that bridge bank is a temporary bank created to operate a failed bank until a buyer can be found, Umaru who was represented by the head of corporate communications, Muhammed Kudu, said the resolution option was reached as is less disruptive to rendition of bank services, unlike outright liquidation or depositors’ payoff.

“The staff are retained in the bridge bank and with this expert arrangement, Polaris was able to continue banking operations in the 277 branches of the bank, over 6,000 jobs were saved and depositors have unhindered access to deposits in excess of N949.60 billion as at June 2018,”he said.

He noted that all those that contributed to the failure of the bank are being investigated by relevant agencies of the government and would be prosecuted to serve as deterrent for others.

“As provided for in the NDIC Act 2006, When financial institutions fails, depositors of Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), Non-Interest Banks (NIBs) and Primary Mortgage Banks (PMBs) are reimbursed up to a maximum unit of N500,000, while the maximum insured coverage for depositors of MFBs is N200,000.

“However, it is important to stress that depositors who have funds in excess of the insured limits are paid dividends from the liquidation of failed banks depending on the quality of their assets and outcome of debt recoveries by the NDIC.

“The changing landscape of the Nigerian financial sector brought to fruition the broadening dimension of Mobile Money Operators (MMOs) in Nigeria. Although, this effectively altered the scope and depth of regulatory/ supervisory interventions, but the NDIC remains resolute in its determination to safeguard depositors’ funds.

“As it stands, the number of licensed MMOs by CBN is currently 23, with eight being Bank-Led and the remaining 15 Non-Bank Led. As at 2017 year end, the number of accounts in the MMOs stood at over 153 million. The NDIC provides deposit insurance coverage to subscribers of MMOS to the maximum limit of N500,000 through the Pass-Through Deposit Insurance Framework. This is to further promote financial inclusion drive across the broad spectrum of the Nigerian economy.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER.

INCREASING YOUR CAPACITY.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit (John 15:1-2).
Proverbs 11:30 says, “…he that winneth souls is wise.” A soul winner is wise because he’s aligned to God’s number one passion, the passion to turn men from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God. Therefore, if you’ve been a soul winner, God has a plan to give you greater capacity to win more souls.

That’s the point the Master highlights in our opening verse, when He says, “…every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” What this means is that as a branch that produces fruits, the Father has a plan for your capacity building, to make you even more productive. He increases the grace on your life to achieve more.
For example, if you have grace to win and retain thirty souls in your fellowship, cell group, or church, it doesn’t matter what you do to increase, you may not exceed that number. Your effectiveness and productivity in any assignment would be to the extent of the grace granted you to function or carry out that assignment. For you to do more, the Lord will have to give you more grace; the Bible says, “But he giveth more grace...” (James 4:6); that additional grace takes you to a higher level.

Suddenly, you discover that you’re able to do more than you hitherto could; you’re more efficient; you put in the same efforts as you used to, but your results are greater. This is why it’s so important that we remain in constant fellowship with the Lord as we serve Him. Grace is increased as we know the Lord more, through the ministry of the Spirit and the Word.

2 Peter 1:2 says, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.” This is your sure guarantee to a fruitful and productive life.

PRAYER

Thank you, blessed Father, for giving me an abundance of grace for increased fruitfulness. I produce excellent results in my work and ministry by the power that’s at work in me, and everything I do prospers, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Herdsmen say ‘All lands belong to Buhari,’ attack, rape, chase Delta women from farms

ON NOVEMBER 6, 20185:30 AMIN NEWS,

TRENDINGCOMMENTS By Perez Brisibe EWU—WOMEN of flood-ravaged Ewu-Urhobo community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, have cried out  that suspected herdsmen attack, rape and chase them away from their farmlands.

Herdsmen on rampage Mashomi lauds Okowa for payment of LG workers’ salaries The women alleged that the armed herdsmen often claimed that all lands in the country belonged to President Muhammadu Buhari. The women, who laid siege to the Ewu-Edjokota Road, penultimate Monday, as early as 6.00 am, alleged that the armed herdsmen, who take turns to defile them and maim those that refuse to yield to their lustful desires, feed their herds with their farm produce. President Buhari, WAEC and PDP’s toxic air – Garba Shehu Besides attacking them in the farms, they further alleged that  the herdsmen usually laid ambush and robbed traders going to local markets of their goods and flee into the bush.

Herdsmen grazing their cows in my farm attacked me — Atigogo Recounting her ordeal to Vanguard, Madam Felicia Atigogo stated that she was attacked at her farm by two herdsmen when she tried to stop them from grazing their herds on her cassava farm. “Owing to the flood that ravaged our community, I acquired another plot of land on lease only for the farm to be invaded by herds that were shepherd into the farm by these herdsmen. “When I accosted them and tried to stop them from grazing their herd on my cassava, they brought out daggers and machetes and attacked me.

I was lucky to have fled away.” What triggered protest One of the ladies in the community was not as lucky as Madam Atigogo as she died from wounds inflicted on her by herdsmen, who attacked her in her farm and tried to rape her. A villager simply identified as Mama Ufuoma told NDV that her death sparked the latest protest. “She was at her farm with one of her children weeding unknown to them that a group of herdsmen were within the vicinity. The herdsmen immediately pounced on her and tried to rape her.

“While trying to resist them amidst screams, they attacked her with their machetes leaving deep cuts on her and fled into the bush when people came to the scene. She was rushed to the hospital after losing a lot of blood, but died at the hospital,” she said. They impudently claim Buhari owns all lands – Woman leader Woman leader of the community, Mrs. Queen Dieseruvwe, stated that the herdsmen now operate with effrontery, telling them that “all lands in Nigeria, including our communal lands belong to President Muhammadu Buhari.” “They also claim that we have no rights to prevent them from grazing on our farms because President Muhammadu Buhari owns all the land in Nigeria, hence we cannot claim ownership of the land. “They uproot our cassava, feed it to their herds and when you try to resist them, they attack you with machete and maim you if you are lucky as some others, or even shoot you. “So, this is the reason we have barricaded the road as all efforts to reach the governor, police and other security agencies to evict these evil herdsmen from our community have been  futile,” she explained. …accuse Delta govt of neglect Dieseruvwe also accused the Delta State government of allegedly neglecting the community, especially when their farmlands were destroyed by flood, saying, “This is not about politics of PDP or APC as we are here for the benefit of our community and we won’t leave until these herdsmen are ejected from our farms.” “We have a government, but we do not feel its impact. How will representatives of the government feel if their wives, sisters and daughters are raped by herdsmen? “Our farmlands and crops were destroyed as a result of the increase in water level, now we decided to get new locations in the upland only for us to be attacked by these herdsmen, who have been a big problem to us for the past 15 years. Vehicular movement grounded Findings by NDV showed that all forms of vehicular movement on the Ewu-Edjokota Road, the only access route linking over 14 communities in Ughelli North and Ughelli South local government areas were grounded as a result of the protest.

The women erected a barricade across the road with woods and set bonfire on both sides of the road, making it impossible to go around the blockade, while three canopies were assembled on the road, where they sat and danced to music blaring from a Disc Jockey. Commuters were forced to abort their journey at the spot and trek long distance after maneuvering the blockade to the other side of the road where they board commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada to continue their trip. …resist LGA chairmen, Army’s efforts to clear barricade Efforts by the Ughelli South local council Chairman, Dr. Richard Kofi, his Ughelli North counterpart, Godwin Adode, the Ovie of Ogor kingdom, HRM Okiemute Igere I, and military operatives from the 222 Battalion, Agbarha-Otor to dismantle the barricade were fruitless, as the women insisted the only condition to evacuate the road was immediate eviction of all herdsmen from the area. We’re doing everything to fish out perpetrators—Muslim community Condemning the attacks on the women, leader of the Muslim community in Ughelli South, Imam Muhammad Okotie, said: “The Muslim community condemns these attacks and we are doing everything to ensure that these bad herdsmen are brought to book. We are also trying to make sure that Muslims in the area leave in harmony with the locals.”

Six soldiers were reported killed on Thursday last week by suspected Boko Haram insurgents at Azare village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, DAILY POST reports.

According to a reliable source who pleaded anonymity, the attack on the troops followed the arrest of three suspected Boko Haram terrorists who went to the village to charge their mobile phones by the troops of 27 Task Force Brigade stationed in the village.

“Three suspected insurgents came to Azare village to charge their cell phones and the dwellers informed the soldiers stationed in the village and they were arrested.

”Later in the day, the terrorists mobilized and attacked the troops thereby killing six soldiers and carted their rifles”. The source revealed.

The source noted that, troops and members of vigilante group quickly mobilized and trailed the attackers and succeeded in locating the terrorists’ camp, hence neutralized the inhabitants of the camp and destroyed their hideouts.

The incident has now led to a temporary closure of Buni-Yadi- Magza-Biu road.

However, when contacted via mobile phone, the spokesman of the 27 Task Force Brigade, Buni Yadi, Major Alimi has denied the report, saying that there was no attack on the troops.

He said, “There was nothing like an attack on the troops, maybe somebody is misleading you. As I am talking to you right now, I am in Buni Yadi.

“Had it being there was something like that, I would have confirmed to you,” Major Alimi added.

Meanwhile, an officer with the brigade who pleaded anonymity has lamented the killing of many soldiers in the North East by Boko Haram. He said, ” We are fighting a battle that will never end, a dangerous battle. They always come heavy on us. We are trying, but we are losing more soldiers. I have lost a number of my colleagues and friends in a few days.”

Ebola virus infects 300 people in Congo

The deadly Ebola virus has infected 300 people in Congo since an outbreak erupted almost two months ago in the country’s east, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

Ebola is a deadly disease caused by a virus, though there are five strains, and four of them can make people sick.

After entering the body, it kills cells, making some of them explode, it wrecks the immune system, causes heavy bleeding inside the body, and damages almost every organ, though it is scary, but it’s also rare.

“The virus has killed 186 people in the North Kivu and Ituri regions, while 88 others have been cured,’’ the ministry said on Monday.

According to authorities, about 26,000 people in the central African nation have meanwhile received a vaccine to prevent Ebola.

Earlier this month, the health ministry said it will install health checkpoints at the entrances to all polling stations in Congo’s Ebola-affected region during the December presidential election, when millions of Congolese are expected to come out to vote.

The outbreak is concentrated in a region where numerous militia groups are fighting over Congo’s rich natural resources.

Besides militia attacks that have hindered health workers, the region’s high population density and movements across the borders to Uganda and Rwanda pose additional risks that the highly lethal fever disease could spread in the region.

The outbreak began shortly after the government declared an end to another outbreak in the west of the country in June and lauded those involved for managing to swiftly contain the spread of the disease.

Aviation Agencies Groan under N45bn Debt by Airlines

Aviation Agencies Groan under N45bn Debt by Airlines
Tuesday, November 06, 2018 NEW

                         [Image: 0d99ee37-nigerian-civil-aviation-authority-ncaa.jpg]
Aviation agencies, including Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), are unable to replace obsolete airport equipment, resurface dilapidated runways and provide other amenities to the airports, because of N45 billion debt owed by domestic airline.

Akelicious gathered that with no subvention from the federal government, these agencies depend on the revenues generated to pay salaries for their workers, execute safety critical projects and conduct training for manpower development.

With such huge debt profile, FAAN said it is finding it very difficult to replace obsolete airport equipment like airfield lighting, resurfacing of dilapidated runways and provision of other amenities to the airports.

On the part of NAMA, the agency said that it cannot source funds to install and replace old instrument landing system (ILS) at many airports, power its landing aids at various parts of the country and upgrade the skills of its technical staff.

It was gathered that part of the revenue generated by NCAA is shared by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria and the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET).

So the debts owed the regulatory authority has affected the other agencies that render critical services to the aviation industry.
NCAA told Akelicious that the domestic airlines owe it about N12 billion and have given them till end of this year deadline to liquidate those debts or their operations would be grounded.

The debt, it was gathered, accrued from five per cent of ticket sales charge and cargo sales charge.
The Director General of the agency, Captain Muhtar Usman told Akelicious that NCAA has given the airlines a deadline of end of this year to migrate to its pay-as-you-go portal, the Aviation Revenue Automation Project (ARAP), noting that any airline that still owed would not be given start-up to operate from January 2019.

“We have discussed with the airlines; that after the end of this year they must migrate to ARAP so that these debts will stop. We don’t want any airline to owe us again. So, by January 1, 2019 we expect all of them to embrace our automatic payment system,” Usman said.

NAMA also told Akelicious that domestic airline owe the agency N5,729,099.36; while aerodromes owe it N2,388,393,043.12, making it a total of N8,117,497,142.48.
The debt incurred by airlines include en-route charges and aeronautical charges and aerodrome charges include air traffic control services rendered to most private and state airports.

The Managing Director of NAMA, Captain Fola Akinkuotu told Akelicious that these debts impinge on the agency’s operations because maintaining uninterrupted power at the airports and outposts costs NAMA huge amount of money and urged the airlines to pay off the debts.

“The people that we provide services do not pay their debts. NAMA is not an entity created to make profit; it is a cost recovery agency. Now you want us to enhance the services, you want us to provide better radios, better communication, better navigation, better surveillance, knowing that equipment over time degrades, it has to be maintained; it has to be upgraded; for us to continue to do this, we need funds.

“For us to maintain the status of the navigational aids (navaids), facilities that we have and to improve on it based on technology, how do we get the money to do that if not from the payment of the services we render? Everybody is clamouring for better radios, better navaids and so on, nobody is saying how do we fund it? So in the interest of safety, it behoves on all the people who use our services to do the least, pay,” Akinkuotu said.

Akelicious investigations revealed that the airlines owe FAAN about N25 billion, which accrued from landing and parking charges, rent, electricity, concession fees and others, which are the services provided to the airlines by the agency.

A FAAN official told Akelicious that most of the airlines owe the agency landing charges and because it does not get any subvention from government, it depends on its revenue to maintain the airport facilities, install safety critical equipment like airfield lighting, adding that the debt profile has become so huge that the agency may find it difficult to pay workers salaries.

Akelicious learnt that this year alone the total sum owed FAAN by the airlines is N3,696,639,812.12.
One airline owed the agency N1,752,485,203.68 as at July, 2018.

Akelicious gathered that some of the debts owed FAAN by airlines are mired in controversy over discrepancies on the amount owed. But the spokesman of Dana Air, Kingsley Ezenwa said that the airline pays the agency monthly, adding that whenever there is any discrepancy, it is reconciled before payments are made.

The woman was first taken to the Rivers government house security to avoid being lynched after she was captured and was later handed over to the police for further interrogation.

Read the report shared by Better Rivers on Facebook;

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) wants the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to caution indigenous operators and International Oil Companies (IOCs) involved in anti-labour practice.

PENGASSAN President, Francis Olabode Johnson, who gave the warning in a statement, said the caution became necessary to avoid throwing the sector into industrial crisis.

According to him, PENGASSAN’s objective is to safeguard and improve the rights, terms and conditions of employment of its members through labour and industrial relations processes.

Johnson commended the Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru, for supporting the association’s activities. While warning against breaches, he explained that adherence to constitutional provisions and best practices in labour engagement are crucial to the maintenance of cohesion and discipline.

In a related development, Baru urged PENGASSAN to continue to seek the growth and existence of the nation’s oil and gas industry. He gave the charge at the 5th Triennial Delegates Conference of PENGASSAN NNPC Corporate Headquarter (CHQ) Branch in Abuja.

Baru said the management was impressed with the maturity of PENGASSAN, and commended it for moving unionism to another level where dialogue and intelligent argument supersede force and banging of table.

Meanwhile, members of Senior Staff Association (SSANU) of the Federal University, Lokoja (FUL), yesterday protested against the delay in payment of October salary. They accused the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Angela Freeman Miri, of deliberately withholding their salaries and duty allowances.

But, in his reaction, the VC told The Guardian in a telephone interview: “I have problem with finalising the salary, because I have an issue with the Gismix platform, which I reported to the office of the accountant general,” which is currently working on it.The protest coincided with the commencement of the indefinite strike by the Uche Onyedi-led Academic staff Union of Universities (ASSU), which began yesterday.

Saraki Decries Use of $1.05bn NLNG Dividends for Fuel Subsidy
Tuesday, November 06, 2018 NEW

Senate President Bukola Saraki has faulted reported use of $1.05billion, by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), from its dividends from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) for fuel subsidy.

Saraki said the Senate would, therefore, on resumption of plenary today investigate the claims made before the Senator Ahmad Lawan’s Ad-hoc Committee by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Maikanti Baru, on how and why the corporation diverted the dividend from the NLNG to defray the cost of under-recovery in the importation of fuel.

The Senate president, who was quoted as saying this while speaking with newsmen at the Ilorin airport on Monday, according to a statement by his media adviser, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, admitted that he had received series of telephone calls on the issue by many concerned Nigerians, “Who wanted to know the position of the Senate on the issues raised by the NNPC’s GMD before the Ahmad Lawan’s Ad-hoc Committee.”

Saraki expressed grave concern that the NNPC GMD was claiming that the illegal diversion of dividends from the NLNG, which should be paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation for the purpose of funding the fuel subsidy “was done ‘in compliance with the National Assembly directive that NNPC as the supplier of last resort should, and has, maintained robust petrol supply”.

He wondered that “so, if the National Assembly called on NNPC to carry out its legitimate duty of ensuring adequate fuel supply to Nigerians, the GMD logically thinks the corporation by that call has the licence to perpetrate illegality, spend money without approval and violate appropriation laws”.

“It is my belief that if the National Assembly said the corporation should perform its duty effectively as a supplier of fuel to Nigerians without exposing people to needless suffering, that ought to be done within the ambit of the law.”

Saraki added that Senate probe of the unauthorised spending by NNPC will require the GMD to produce the approval given by the National Assembly and other necessary approving bodies authorising the NNPC to divert the dividend from the NLNG investment, “which ought to be paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund belonging to the three tiers of government, for the payment of fuel subsidy”.

According to him, the disclosure by the NNPC boss in response to enquiries by the Senate adhoc committee probing the issue of illegal payment of subsidy on fuel, called for further investigation by the Senate and also showed that as alleged in a motion moved earlier by Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, a lot of illegal and unapproved spendings are going on in the petroleum corporation.

He, therefore, assured Nigerians that Senate would thoroughly investigate this matter saying “there will be no cover up.”
Saraki also expressed confidence that the ad-hoc committee would do a thorough job.
“All the issues will be unearthed. That is why when the Senate set up investigative committees on issues, we want Nigerians to have confidence in us that we do not act because we want to embark on a wild goose chase. There must be some serious issues to be looked into. The revelations by the NNPC’s GMD have justified the need for this investigation and they have shown that we are acting in good faith.

“When in my ruling on the motion raised by Senator Olujimi, I insisted that we want a transparent, honest and non-partisan investigation on the fuel subsidy issue, it was clear to me and my colleagues that there are certain irregularities being perpetrated and we should let Nigerians know the truth. That is why we set up the committee in the first place and to demonstrate the seriousness we attach to the issue, we decided that the ad-hoc committee should be led by the Leader of the Senate, Senator Ahmad,” Senate President further said.
Baru had last Thursday told the Senator Lawan-led ad-hoc committee that the corporation spent $1.05billion to defray underrecovery cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from October, 2017 to date.

He emphasised that what the corporation did in the wake of shortfall in fuel supply between October 2017 and January 2018″ was to devise other means of securing PMS on the advise of the National Assembly.”
According to him, NNPC utilised $1.05billion from its dividends in NLNG to finance the additional landing and other expenses of PMS.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY, 6TH NOVEMBER.

AFIRE FOR THE GOSPEL.

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord (Romans 12:11).

As Christians, our participation and involvement in the Gospel, our passion for its spread around the world, must be indomitable; it’s the reason we’re here on earth; it’s what we live for! One sure way to know a Christian who’s working with the Spirit, and walking in the Spirit, is his or her unyielding, undying passion for the spread of the Gospel.

God’s vision is the evangelisation and Christianisation of the world. He wants the whole earth filled with the knowledge of His glory, as the waters cover the sea. That’s where we come in; we’re His partners in soul winning; we’re the ones to establish His will, and His Kingdom in the earth and in the hearts of men.

God has called you and given you a divine mandate; stay focused and committed to that calling. He said in Mark 16:15, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” The Lord Jesus, here, wasn’t only instructing Peter, James, John, and the other disciples; He was talking to you and me.

Moreover, He’s coming soon, and when He comes back, He’s only going to be interested in your life in Him, and the impact you made with the Gospel.
What are you doing with your life? How are you affecting others with the Gospel, the message of Jesus? Remember, He came to this world to give His life so that men may live, and come into union with God. Therefore, the only way we can truly share His love is to passionately take His message to the world, and tell them about the blood Jesus shed, not only for the remission of sins, but to give eternal life to all men, and make it possible for us to become sons of God.

I urge you to be fervent in soul winning; be active in the house of God; be about the Father’s business. Run with His vision that’s in your heart. Our opening verse in the Moffat NT Version says, “never let your zeal flag; maintain the spiritual glow; serve the Lord.” Be afire for, and with, the Gospel.

PRAYER

I worship you, blessed Father, for counting me faithful and committing to my trust the message of eternal life. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I’m impacting my world with the Gospel, turning many to righteousness, and from the power of Satan unto God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pastor Cancels Wedding Over HIV Status Of Couple In Ghana
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

A Ghanaian pastor over the weekend reportedly cancelled a wedding over the couple's HIV status.

According to a report by Yen Ghana, the couple identified as Joyce Waithera and Paul Waithaka were instructed to take a HIV test before walking down the aisle and when the results came in, the pastor refused to officiate their wedding.

The cleric, Jesse Karanja, even went as far as calling the police to drive the couple's guests out of the church compound.

The bride and groom could not bear the embarrassment and decided to stay away from the premises leaving the guests to feast on the food before leaving.

Everything from the decorations, sitting arrangements to the cars meant to ferry the bridal party went to waste after pastor Jesse refused to show up for the ceremony.

According to a guest close to the family, Jesse kept giving insensible excuses as to why the wedding could not take place.

"The pastor has been taking us round in circles since 10.30am to 6.30pm. He has given us excuses that do not make sense then decided to call the police for no reason. He is not a doctor and cannot comment on the couple's status," the irate guest let out.

Another guest stated the pastor had his own personal problems but had no right to transfer them to the couple that just wanted to be united as man and wife.

"I just pity their parents because I do not know what is going on in their minds," he said.

A church elder was later recorded saying the Mizpah House of Prayer does not tolerate immorality and proclaims a life of purity. According to the church, sex before marriage is frowned upon and couples are required to stay celibate before marriage.

Buhari Will Win 2019 Election With A Wide Margin - Presidency
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 11-06-2018, 06:38 AM - No Replies

President Muhammadu Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has described the 2019 presidential election as a contest between light and darkness that he expects the president to win.

While speaking during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today on Sunday, November 4, 2018, the president's spokesperson said Nigerians will decide on the right candidate who'll move the nation forward.

He said, "What we know is that a contest is ahead and it is going to be a contest between light and darkness, between integrity and people who have question marks; between a man whose life is plain and transparent and a man with so much opacity that you can't say, well, this is his life, this is his background and this is how he got this and that.

"It's going to be a fair contest and, at the end of the day, Nigerians will decide."

The 2019 presidential election, scheduled for February 16, 2019, is expected to be closely-fought between President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Buhari will win 2019 election with a wide margin - Presidency

During Sunday's interview, Adesina also expressed his belief that President Buhari will win with a wider margin than he used to win the 2015 contest.

He said he believes Nigerians will vote for continuity so that the president can consolidate on the achievements of his first term.

He said, "Our conviction is that the party will win by a wider margin, far wider margin, than in 2015. Look around, what is the alternative? Can we afford to take the country back into the infamous past? It would be very sad. It would be quite shameful to take Nigeria back into the past.

"The best option for Nigeria is a continuity of what we have now so that it can be properly consolidated for a better future and Nigerians know it.

"The option is President Buhari to be re-elected. Our confidence is that President Buhari will win the election."

In 2015, the president won with 15,424,921 votes, 2.5 million votes more than second-placed Goodluck Jonathan who won 12,853,162 votes. It was the first time an opposition candidate had beaten an incumbent president in a democratic election.

Documents Show Buhari’s Govt. Illegally Diverted N378billion NLNG Dividend
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 03:19 PM - No Replies

The federal government illegally diverted $1.05 billion (N378 billion at N360 to a dollar) sourced from the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) dividend funds to secretly fund subsidy payment on petroleum products, PREMIUM TIMES can report today.

The diversion details are coming amidst revelations from accusations the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has a $3.5 billion subsidy fund it is spending without appropriation by the National Assembly.

In October, a motion by Biodun Olujimi, (Ekiti-PDP) had triggered debates in the National Assembly on the purported $3.5 billion fund alleged to be managed by the state oil company.

But the NNPC said it had no such fund in its custody. Rather, it said it has a $1.05 billion fund it is using to stabilise petrol supply and distribution in the country.

While the NNPC, through its spokesperson, Ndu Ughamadu, initially claimed the corporation sourced the fund from an ‘international agency’, Maikanti Baru, NNPC group managing director, admitted last week that the money was sourced from the NLNG dividend fund.

Documents in the possession of this newspaper have now shown that the fund was sourced at the height of the fuel scarcity crisis between last December and January and was secretly diverted into payments on petrol supply and distribution.

The funds came from dividends paid to the federal government by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas company, a firm in which the government owns 49 percent equity.

The Nigerian government is represented in the NLNG shareholding arrangement by the NNPC with 49 percent stake. Other shareholders are Shell (25.6 percent), Total (15 percent) and Eni (10.4 percent).

Dividends from the gas firm are meant to be shared by the federal, state and local governments of Nigeria.

But PREMIUM TIMES has now confirmed that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government unilaterally — without required consultation with states and the national assembly– tampered with the funds. That was also done without the mandatory appropriation by the National Assembly.

Lawmakers say by his action, President Buhari has violated the nation’s appropriation law, and has therefore committed impeachable offences.

Denial
The administration has for years paid huge amounts as fuel subsidy (despite increasing the pump price of fuel), while denying making such payments. Federal lawmakers said the payments were surreptitiously and illegally done and have demanded investigation.

The lawmakers say spending on fuel subsidy or related spending without the approval of the National Assembly is extra budgetary and illegal.

Besides, the lawmakers said they were worried about the transparency of the arrangement, as only the group managing director of The NNPC, Maikanti Baru, and the corporation’s chief financial officer in charge of Finance & Accounts, Isiaka Abdulrazaq, were managing the secret funds without appropriation.

But the NNPC said through Mr Ughamadu that what was in existence was a $1.05 billion “revolving fund”, which was adopted by the NNPC as a strategy to comply with the directive by the National Assembly to find all ways possible to resolve the fuel supply crisis in the country late last year.
He claimed the fund, dubbed the National Fuel Support Fund, is jointly managed by the NNPC, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the Department of Petroleum Resources and the Petroleum Equalization Fund.

On the source of funds, Mr Ughamadu claimed the agencies jointly sourced the money from an unnamed “international agency”.

But contrary to his claims, documents seen by this newspaper confirmed Mr Baru’s position that the source of the fund was the NLNG dividend account controlled by the corporation.

The flush fund
In a memo dated January 19, addressed to Mr Buhari, the NNPC GMD, Mr Baru, raised concerns over the depletion in the nation’s strategic fuel reserve.

This, he said, was occasioned by massive diversion and hoarding which manifested in the fuel crisis of last year.

To arrest the situation, he said there was need to access the NLNG dividend fund to purchase the required petrol volume to flush supply and boost strategic reserve.

Mr Baru also complained about the daily consumption of petrol, put at 35 million litres per day at the time, which was becoming problematic for the NNPC to manage after oil marketing companies stopped importing the products.

He told the president petrol consumption had exponentially gone up to 47 million litres per day — even though the actual national consumption was estimated at 35 million litres.

“At the current depletion rate, there is the possibility that the available PMS stock that hovers between 18 to 15 days sufficiency will be depleted by the second week of February 2018 to dangerously low levels if no flush funds are secured,” the memo read. “This may adversely impact the current situation and could lead to social unrest.”

The memo also advised Mr Buhari on the need to fix the Jebba-Mokwa road to ease distribution of petroleum products, engage the State Security Service in the monitoring of depots selling above NNPC approved prices, among other concerns.

The GMD addressed concerns raised by the president in a previous communication by explaining that by the status of NNPC’s balance sheet and its free cash position, the corporation would not be able to use its funds to import petrol.

He also explained how the government’s financing obligations limited the ability of the corporation to supply 13 cargoes of petrol, being what was needed for national consumption in the absence of private marketers.

He suggested also that the NNPC be allowed access to foreign exchange at the appropriate rate corresponding to supply of petrol that will ensure stability in price.

The letter concluded by advising the president that NNPC did not have the cash flow to finance petrol importation that would meet immediate requirement of flush volumes and strategic reserve replenishment. Mr Baru advised the injection of 42 cargoes of petrol between January and April to flush supply.

“There is dire need to arrest the erosion of PMS sufficiency with he injection of flush volumes immediately,” Mr Baru said in the memo. “In view of the foregoing, Your Excellency may kindly reconsider and approve our request to utilize $1.05 billion to finance the 42 PMS cargoes as contained in our letter to you dated 8th January, on the subject matter.”

In a separate memo, also dated January 19, the NNPC intimated the president on what it had done to deal with the fuel challenge while also advising the president to quickly approve its request for flush fund.

Details of Mr Baru’s memos to the president were regurgitated when the NNPC chief appeared before an ad hoc committee of the Senate on the alleged application of $3.5 billion dollars by the NNPC last week.

Speaking at the hearing, Mr Baru claimed that the NNPC’s action to source funds to address PMS supply concerns was triggered by the directive of the senate at the height of the fuel scarcity crisis that the corporation must do all it could to address the scarcity problems. He added that it was also because there has been no provision for subsidy in the budget since 2016.

“This necessitated actions from government and of course in line with the federal government directive which of course was equally endorsed by this distinguished national assembly when during the hearing on the 24th of January 2018 on the fuel crisis, the joint committees of the national assembly directed us and I quote: ‘NNPC should do all it takes to flush the queue and restore normalcy and maintain the minimum of 30 days sufficiency’,” Mr Baru said in his submission. “For us to do that, we took certain actions, Mr Chairman.”

Kabiru Marafa, the Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), told PREMIUM TIMES the National Assembly indeed gave the NNPC a written marching order to end the last fuel scarcity.

The senator said although the state oil company indicated it was setting up a revolving fund to deal with the problem, the corporation did not indicate how it planned to source the fund.

Another highly placed source in the National Assembly confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES Sunday that lawmakers never authorised the NNPC to embark on illegal remedial activities devoid of appropriation.

The source, who declined to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said the National Assembly was looking into the arrangement because it was not aware of its existence.

Again, it is now clear state governments were not intimated of the transaction. The NLNG shares belong to the Nigerian federation and the three tiers should share in the dividends.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Abdulaziz Yari, said his Forum became aware of the utilisation of the fund after the fact.

“We are now trying to reconcile the balance sheet with the NNPC,” Mr Yari, who is also Zamfara governor, told PREMIUM TIMES. “We want to determine what has happened to the $1.05billion revolving fund and the situation with the entire NLNG dividend fund.”

Mr Baru in his submission at the Senate hearing said the $1.05 billion is being administered by a steering committee which is the central approving body and a working committee that is looking at the daily operations of the fund.

“This committees are comprised of the representatives of the office of the minister of finance, office of the minister of state for petroleum resources, the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, the Petroleum Equalization Funds management board, the Directorate of Petroleum Resources and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,” he said.

“So the fund that we exercise from the Nigerian NLNG fund is being administered, transferred with laid down processes and governance and every cargo that is imported under this programme has gone through a proper checking process through which the most competitive supplier is selected.”

But a January 31 memo seen by this newspaper indicated the fund was being unilaterally controlled by the NNPC rather than by any steering committee.

In the memo, Mele Kyari, the NNPC group general manager in charge of crude oil marketing department, was seen advising the GMD on huge fund transaction and seeking approval to process invoices on flush volume cargoes.

For long, the government has refused to come clean over the payment as the arrangement, considered illegal and unappropriated, has been shrouded in secrecy.

Last December, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo raised concerns among stakeholders when he said the NNPC and not the Federal government was paying for oil subsidy.

With this revelation, it is now clear the NNPC received the NLNG dividend fund and has continued to use it for fuel supply, as confirmed by Messrs Baru and Ughamadu.

Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, did not answer multiple telephone calls and text message seeking his comment for his story. Mr Ughamadu too did not respond to messages sent to him.

But he was unable to convince the police on his mission as he admitted that he was not invited by the complainant who claimed that he stole her laptop.
The police found him culpable and charged him before the Isolo Magistrates court for stealing.

A 15-year-old boy who raped a 4-year-old girl, Jennifer Iteze, has been freed as the family of the rape victim who couldn’t pay the sum of N4,000, which according to Family Law Centre, Abakaliki was to be used for opening the case file.

The rape case of the 4-year-old girl was brought to Ebonyi State’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The Ministry’s Head of Department, Child Development, Godwin Igwe, revealed that Iteze was brought to his office, by the father alongside a consultant physician from the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, who confirmed the rape upon some medical examinations.

Jennifer’s father alleged that the rape act was perpetrated by one Ernest, the son of one of his co-tenants. According to him, Ernest undertook to look after the little girl and her two other siblings while he and their mother left for their different places of work, but on return, they discovered that their daughter was having pains while urinating.

It was gathered that upon inquiry, parents of the little girl were told by their daughter how Ernest came into their house while she was with her siblings and inserted his genital into her own. However following the inability of the family to pay N4,000 for a case file, the 15-year-old boy has been freed.

Iteze, who is a staff of the National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, has however called on the appropriate authorities to assist his family in bringing the culprit to justice, so as to serve as deterrent to others.

"Why We Declared Indefinite Nationwide Strike" - ASUU
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 11:44 AM - No Replies

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has announced the commencement of an indefinite nationwide strike with immediate effect. The decision was announced at the end of an emergency meeting on Sunday night. Briefing newsmen after the closed door meeting, ASUU president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said the strike will be total and commence with immediate effect.

He listed the reasons for their action to include:

1. Failure on the side of the government to honour the memorandum of action signed between the union and the federal government in 2017

2. Renegotiation with ASUU which the government intentionally ignored with impunity. Professor Ogunyemi therefore directed all the state chapters to ensure full compliance until their demands are met.

Minimum Wage: Why We Can’t Meet Labours’ Demands – Nigerian Govt
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 11:34 AM - No Replies

The federal government on Sunday gave reasons why it cannot meet the demand of labour unions that the national minimum wage be increased to N30,000.

The labour unions, NLC, TUC and ULC, have vowed to commence a nationwide strike from Tuesday if government does not meet its demand.

The workers unions accuse the government of going back on a N30,000 decision reached at a tripartite meeting between labour, government, and private employers.

However, the federal government says no agreement was reached at the tripartite meeting and insists on a N24,000 minimum wage, while the state governors say they would only be able to pay N22,500.

On Sunday, the labour unions boycotted a reconciliation meeting called by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Speaking with journalist Sunday evening, the SGF, Boss Mustapha, said the meeting was part of the exercise that ought to be undertaken to ensure that there was a complete report to be submitted to the presidency on the issues relating to the minimum wage.

Mr Mustapha said that the tripartite committee has been working assiduously though there were outstanding issues that needed to be dealt with and that was the reason he called for the reconciliation meeting.

“Basically the only outstanding issue that needs to be dealt with is to harmonise the 5th chapter of the report and get the figures in for the purposes of submission to government,” he said.

REASONS WE CAN’T MEET N30,000

The SGF said President Muhammadu Buhari, while inaugurating the tripartite meeting, emphasised the need for a unanimous resolution at the meeting, something that was yet to be agreed to.

“Mr President went further to emphasise that the concern is not only for the welfare of the workers but also every other thing should be taken on board as it affects the country’s economy.

“So it is a balance of the welfare of the workforce with the effect of the new minimum wage and the economy,” he said

The SGF quoting Mr Buhari said, “We yearn to go above basic social protection for Nigerian worker but also tie to the ability to pay, because I know that a lot of states are even having difficulty meeting the basic minimum wage”.

He noted that 27 states were having difficulty in paying the current minimum wage of N18,000, while noting that he was not making any excuses for them.

He did not elaborate on why labour unions boycotted the meeting but said the tripartite meeting will continue tomorrow.

“I want to assure all of you that once the report is concluded and ready, I will personally ensure that Mr President sign immediately on it,” he said.

Earlier on Sunday, the General Secretary of the NLC, Peter Ozo-Esan, told PREMIUM TIMES in a telephone interview why his union boycotted the Sunday meeting.

“We (NLC) are not aware of any meeting with the SGF over any matter. A government that gets an injunction against us without putting us on notice until we heard from the press has shown enough bad faith.

“Even if we were aware, we would not be interested to attend any meeting. The meeting we are aware of, which we are going to attend, is the tripartite committee meeting tomorrow in Abuja. That’s the one we plan to attend. That is the official position,” he said.

Natural Gas Production Rise By 8% – NNPC
User Avatar Forum: Oil/Gas
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 11:28 AM - No Replies

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says 230.35 Billion Cubic Feet (BCF) of natural gas has been produced in the country in July.

The Corporation, in its Monthly Financial and Operations report for July, said the production averaged a daily output of 7,678.17 million Standard Cubic Feet (mmscfd).

It said the sum represented 8.81 per cent increase compared to the previous month, June 2018.

The report indicated that for the period July 2017 to July 2018, 3,084.09 BCF of gas was produced, representing an average daily production of 7,834.62 mmscfd.

It added that the daily average natural gas supply to gas power plants stood at 744.86 mmscfd, equivalent to power generation of 2,898 MW.

It explained that from the period to date, production from Joint Ventures (JVs), Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) contributed about 69.38 per cent, 21.69 per cent and 8.93 per cent respectively to the total national gas production

A further breakdown of the numbers showed that out of the total volume of gas supplied in July 2018, 127.19 BCF of gas was commercialised, comprising 35.55 BCF and 91.65 BCF for the domestic and export market.

“This translates to a total supply of 1,184.81 mmscfd of gas to the domestic market and 3,055.00 mmscfd of gas supplied to the export market for the month.

“It implies that 55.98 per cent of the average daily gas produced was commercialised, while the balance of 44.02 per cent was re-injected, used as upstream fuel gas or flared,’’ it said

On Gas Flaring, the report said gas flare rate was 9.33 per cent, (706.96mmscfd), compared with average gas flare rate of 10.44 per cent ( 816.73mmscfd) for the period July 2017 to July 2018.

The Report also revealed that the corporation continued to ensure increased PMS supply and distribution across the country to sustain seamless distribution of petroleum products and zero fuel queue across the nation.

It noted that 2.18 billion litres of white products were distributed and sold by the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) in July 2018 compared with 1.46 billion litres in June 2018.

According to the report, the sales comprised 1.84 billion litres of petrol, 0.13billion litres of kerosene and 0.21 billion litres of diesel, while total special products sold for the period was 10.70 million litres.

This, it added, comprised 0.87 million litres of other special products and 9.83 million litres of LPFO or 16 per cent, 12 per cent and 6 per cent respectively.

The report disclosed that during the period under review, pipeline break stood at 204, of which 16 pipeline points either failed to be welded or ruptured/clamped.

It also indicated that 188 pipeline points were vandalised as against 165 recorded last month, with Ibadan-Mosimi accounting for 124 points or 66 per cent of the vandalised pipeline, while Aba-Enugu, PHC-Aba and other locations accounted for the rest.

“A total of 1,858 vandalized points were recorded between July 2017 and July 2018,’’ it added.

In the Upstream Sector, the report disclosed that average crude oil price stood at 72.57 dollars per barrel in July 2018 as against 72.67 dollars per barrel in June 2018.

Industry watchers attributed the oil price decline to the slight rise in the global inventories, saying the scenario was expected to continue in the second half of 2018.

In July, the OPEC Reference Basket (ORB) increased marginally by 0.07 per cent to finish the month at 73.27 dollars per barrel, compared to the previous year ORB of 68.48 dollars per barrel in the same period, indicating a higher value of 4.7 or 7 dollars per cent.

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has approached President Muhammadu Buhari to attend to the needs of Nigerians instead of donating money to other countries.

The previous VP said that Nigeria's assets ought to be utilized for the nation and its kin and not as gifts to other people.

He said that the President and his group ought to be more reasonable with national assets.

Atiku, in a statement  by its media office in Abuja on Sunday asked why a nation whose pioneers had promised to offer its national resources would even now be giving cash without thinking about its suggestions.

He said that the President as of late guaranteed to give $500,000 to Guinea Bissau, alongside other material gifts.

He stated, "As of late, we had cause to guide the Buhari organization to be more judicious with national assets after the legislature proclaimed its goal to offer national resources worked by past organizations to subsidize their the same old thing 2019 spending plan.

"Evidently, as opposed to offer notice to our ace bono enthusiastic prompt, the Buhari organization is continuing in the monetary iniquity that has seen them annihilate an once flourishing economy.

"In the most recent case, the Buhari government has reported that it is making a $500,000 gift to Guinea Bissau, alongside other material gifts.

"Our reaction is to inquire as to why a country that has been formally named as the world base camp for extraordinary destitution, will give her assets to others as opposed to utilizing them to take care of squeezing household issues?

"This is a similar government that is so destitute that it has so far obtained ₦13 trillion out of three years putting our economy in considerably more noteworthy hazard.

“How prudent is it to go about taking loans from whomsoever cares to lend you money and then turn around to give out those same monies even when your own people are suffering the worst forms of poverty they have ever endured?

“We call on the Buhari administration to cut their coat according to their cloth. He should stop donating like Father Christmas. He should attend to then need of Nigerians.

Quote:Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested one Dauda Yakubu of Girinya village in the Konton-Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State for allegedly beheading one Emmanuel Sunday.

Yakubu was alleged to have subsequently made away with his victim’s motorcycle.

It was learnt that the elder brother to the deceased, Amos Sunday, reported to the police that his brother did not return home from work.

“He refused to hand over his motorcycle to me; so, I got angry and we beheaded him and zoomed off with the motorcycle.

“I don’t know what came over me; we are from the same state (Kogi) but we reside in Niger State. How do I explain myself to my kinsmen?”

Asked if he wanted to use the victim’s head for rituals, Yakubu said, “I couldn’t have used my kinsman’s head for rituals; our culture forbids it; it was the devil that pushed me into killing him.”

Quote:Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Imo State Police Command, have arrested a serving policeman, Chibuike Omego, and two others for alleged involvement in armed robbery.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said the cop and two others – Ebuka Nwosu and Anayo Zeigbo – were arrested between October 31 and November 2 in Enugu and Bayelsa states, respectively.

The CP stated that the suspects were tracked down by the F-SARS operatives for robbing the driver of a serving Chief Magistrate, Chika Ezerioha, in Imo State.

The CP, who spoke with Southern City News on Sunday, said, “At Uwani in Enugu State, and Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, from October 31 till November 2, F-SARS operatives, coordinated by its Commander, Godfrey Victor, arrested one serving policeman, Omego Chibuike, 24.

“He was serving at the Ogui Police Station in Enugu State before his arrest. The other suspects are Nwosu Ebuka, 25, of Uwani Police Barrack in Enugu State, and Anayo Zeigbo from Enugu State, but resident in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

“They were arrested in connection with a case of armed robbery. It is important to note that on October 6, 2016, at Egbeada by Nkoromi filling station near the flyover in Imo State, one Robert Ekeh, a driver to Chief Magistrate Chika Ezerioha, was robbed at gunpoint and his Toyota Avenza car, golden colour, with registration number: IMSJ 148, was taken away.

“The suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Upon recovery and in order to evade arrest, the car registration number was changed to MUS 986 FK. Effort is on to arrest one Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps operative, who is one of the main suspects.”

Galadanchi stated that the investigation, which spanned over two years before the suspects were arrested, was an indication that the community policing strategies of the Inspector General of Police being implemented by his command were effective.

“If we can arrest one of our own in connection with a crime, that means that nobody is above the law. We are committed to crime fighting and making sure that the Yuletide season is crime-free in Imo State,” the CP added.

FG Incurred N16bn Transaction Costs On TSA –AGF
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 10:29 AM - No Replies

Ifeanyi Onuba, Abuja

The Federal Government has within the last two years incurred a total amount of N16bn as transaction costs on the Treasury Single Account.

The Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, disclosed this on Sunday in Abuja.

A statement issued by the Director, Press, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Johnson Oise, revealed that the Federal Government had been bearing the cost of transmission of funds into the TSA and would not want to do so anymore.

The statement said, henceforth, the Federal Government would no longer bear the service charge on all payments to its Ministries, Departments and Agencies as such costs would be borne by the payer.

It said, “Within the last two years, the government spent almost N16bn in this direction which ordinarily should be borne by those making payments.

“So, it is time for Nigerians to pay for the services that they receive and the government will take whatever is due to it without necessarily incurring cost.

“In the old tariff regime, the Federal Government bore the charges on all transactions to the service providers on behalf of payers.’’

Idris said a lot of sensitisation had been done to give enough room to understand the new tariff regime and for compliance, adding that the charges were minimal and negotiable.

“By negotiable, I mean by the introduction of more players in the market, definitely the charges will come down from whatever they are now, but right now discussions are going on to make the charges as minimal as possible.

“We are liberalising the market and it has to be a level playing field for all operators to operate and that is what will happen,” he added.

The AGF said that the Central Bank of Nigeria, as the regulator which stipulates the rates of the charges, would always intervene if any service provider charged beyond the approved rate.

The TSA initiative, which took off fully in September 2015, had led to the closure of 20,000 bank accounts while over N8tn had been moved from banks to the CBN.

A total of 1,674 MDAs have been enrolled on the TSA platform.

The Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, had said that the TSA policy had assisted the government to address a lot of impediments affecting the efficiency of public finance.

The AGF said that the government was currently enjoying a lot of benefits from the implementation of the TSA policy.

For instance, he stated that through the policy, the government had been able to block leakages and abuses which had characterised the public sector before its commencement in September 2015.

Apart from blocking leakages, Idris said the TSA initiative had assisted the government to overcome the burden of indiscriminate borrowings by MDAs, thus saving the government a lot of bank charges associated with such borrowing.

An embattled cleric, Apostle Chris Omatsola, who is at the centre of a viral sex video scandal, has relocated his church over threats that trailed the release of the clip.

said on Sunday that the new location of his ministry was only known to core members.

This was after one of our correspondents visited two locations of the church in the Lekki and Ajah areas of Lagos on Sunday to see the effect of the incident on members. Nobody was seen at both locations.

Akelicious had reported that Omatsola, who is the Presiding Pastor of Zionwealth of Life Assembly, and his former lover, Tamaratokoni Okpe, had a clash over a sex video, which was leaked on the Internet.

The two estranged lovers, who allegedly dated for about seven months, reportedly had sexual intercourse during the fling, which was filmed by Omatsola.

Shortly after things fell apart between them, the lurid video emerged on the Internet.

Okpe had accused Omatsola of releasing the video to force her into marriage with him, while the cleric denied the claim, saying the video was leaked to blackmail him. He alleged that Okpe demanded N200m from him.

On a visit to the church locations on Admiralty Way, Lekki, and Bendid Plaza, Ado Road, Ajah, on Sunday, one of our correspondents noticed that service did not hold.

Some residents of the areas told one of our correspondents that they did not know anything about the church.

When we called Omatsola’s telephone line, a man who picked the call said the pastor had become depressed by media attacks and public criticisms, adding that he was not available for comments.

Our correspondent, however, insisted on speaking to the pastor.

When Omatsola eventually agreed to speak, he said he had relocated his ministry because he feared for his life and those of his members.

While insisting that he did not leak the video, he added that his only regret was having premarital sex.

He stated, “A lot of waters have gone under the bridge. We are trying to protect ourselves from the public, because they have not really been fair to us. We still have a lot of our people, although this has affected our ministry grossly. Our church is a ministry. It is an assembly of young people.

“We have a location where we meet for now because of what happened; we have been receiving a lot of threats; some people are saying they want to burn our church. We had to change the location to a designated place where we meet and we will not share that with the public, because we don’t want the public; we know our people.”

Omatsola, who noted that he had apologised to his members, said they knew the truth about the incident.

He added that the incident had affected him psychologically and had helped him to have a better sense of judgment.

“First of all, I was wrong to have had a sex date with somebody I was supposed to marry. But this should not be an instrument of blackmail. It’s really outrageous. My followers know the truth. They know who they are following,” he added.

Meanwhile, Omatsola has come under heavy attack on Facebook, where he has an account.

On October 21 when the sex video went viral, he asked his followers to pray for him.

“Let he or she that is without a sin among you be the first to cast a stone. Friends, pray for the church of God; pray for Zionwealth Church; pray for #ChrisOmatsola.God bless you. #ApostleChrisOmatsola#IstandwithACO #ZionwealthChurch #SatanWillNotWin #John8v7,” he wrote.

Three days after, he posted a crying emoticon and asked for forgiveness.

He said, “One day, Apostle Chris Omatsola will have his last breath, die and go, but until then, I will keep on pushing cool and steady. Sorry to everyone that is offended, please forgive and forget. God bless you all. Shallom.”

But his posts angered his Facebook friends, some of whom posted screenshots of the sex video in the comment section.

One Esther Jack said, “Imagine the way he is even saying it. ‘Sorry to everyone, please forgive and forget’. This man is a vicious type. So unrepentant, uncut (uncouth), pompous and silly. It just ends with ‘forget’ right? When the lady was begging you not to release the nudes, you were feeling like Captain America.”

Another Facebook user, Emma Nuel, said, “I wish words can describe how much I hate you. If that girl were my sister, I swear with my life I would have separated your head from your body. You devil.”

However, while some friends urged him to make peace with his creator and move on, others said he should resign his position in order to have for enough time to reconcile with God.

Publishing Debtors’ List Will Enhance Amcon’s Debt Recovery, Say Experts
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 10:20 AM - No Replies

The recent publication of list of debtors by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has been welcomed by experts who believed the move will boost the recovery of existing huge non-performing loan (NPLs) by the corporation.

Although mixed reaction had trailed the action by AMCON, especially its legal implication, some experts who spoke to Akelicious, however said the move by the corporation was a step in the right direction.

Former Managing Director, Unity Bank Plc, Dr. Mohammad Rislanudeen and a Professor of Finance and Capital Market at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Uche Uwaleke told Akelicious over the weekend that naming the debtors, including prominent Nigerians would be a game changer in its recovery drive.

According to Rislanudeen, the NPLs which stood at about five per cent when the debts were acquired by AMCOM in 2011, now averaged about 15 per cent, implying that more loans had gotten bad.

He said both AMCON and the debtor entities are currently in a dilemma-“because that chunk of money- over N4 trillion are tax payers’ money which was used rightly to ensure financial stability. And it’s the responsibility of AMCOM to recover these loans.”

However, the ex-banker added, publicising the identities of debtors in an effort to compel them to pay represented, “a right thing to whatever AMCON will do to ensure that those loans were recovered.”

Contrary to suggestions of a possible backlash, he said: “I don’t see any negative implication for the economy.

“If you are in business, you won’t like your business to fall. For instance, if you are indebted to AMCON to the tune of N1 billion and you’re doing good business, AMCON will never come to you and demand that you pay all the money at ago.

“All AMCON will want from you is to sit down with them, agree on the exact amount and restructure the facilities to be paid over a period of time based on your own cash flows.

“All AMCON wants is ownership: agreeing that you’re indebted and that you’ll start to pay.

“So anyone that’s in good business and is not ready to pay debts, then he should as well allow his business to go.

“If we don’t do that, we’ll continue to have this problem of moral hazard and adverse selection. It means even from day one, both the borrower and lender knows that the facility can get bad and yet they went ahead because they know at some point, somebody will take over.”

He added: “People will just go to bank, borrow money and then refuse to pay. On the part of the banks, because they know there’s AMCON- there’s always a place to sell the loans- it will be an unending vicious cycle.”

In the same vein, Uwaleke posited that the publication of the list of debtors would go a long way to aid recovery of most of the debts that AMCON took over from distressed banks.

He added:” AMCON is meant to be a temporary resolution vehicle and therefore should be seen to be ready to activate its sunset clause any time soon.

“This is one of the steps it should be taking to recover the debts owed it in preparation for winding down.”

According to the professor: “One implication of this sort of action is to send the right signals to bank customers with a reputation for loan defaults that they are expected to honour their obligation to the banks as at when due or risk being named and shamed.

“This will help to reduce the high level of non-performing loans in the banking industry. So, I think the development bodes well for financial system stability.”

Nevertheless, the former Unity Bank boss said AMCON was unlikely to wind up its operations by 2020 given that it “will not be able to recover those loans.”

He said: “So if they (AMCON) don’t recover the loans and more loans are getting bad, and there may be another pressure for another round of AMCON; because now, there’s Polaris Bank- that has huge bad debt…Now it has been liquidated and the entire share now belong to the NDIC and after some time, it’ll be handed over to AMCOM.”

Reps To Reopen Alleged $1.348b Power Fraud Probe
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 11-05-2018, 10:18 AM - No Replies

The House of Representatives could reopen the probe into an alleged $1.348 billion power sector fraud levelled against General Electric (GE) and Rockson Engineering Nigeria Ltd.
The issue, which has lingered for years, will not be swept under the carpet, vowed chairman of the House Committee on Power, Dan Asuquo, in an interview at the weekend.
He expressed surprise that the authorities have not yet taken action on findings by relevant committees of the previous National Assembly, insisting the legislature would push for the refund of the alleged stolen money.
“The National Assembly has done its work. It has come out with a report. The report is there for anybody to see and use. If you talk about Rockson, in collaboration with GE, they have issues of which Nigerians should ask questions. If somebody is not performing, the law is there.

“We cannot promote the fleecing of taxpayers’ money. If somebody is irresponsible, the law is clear; you blacklist and terminate, as long as you’ve kept your own part of the contract. We will call for that refund, if that magnitude of padding, waste and corruption has been done,” said Asuquo.
The allegation, which came via a signed petition by about 10 civil society organisations and dated September 26, 2018, was received by the office of the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, on September 27, 2018.
President Muhammadu Buhari had recently wondered how a former government allegedly spent $16 billion on the sector without results. He also accused the National Assembly of not exercising adequate oversight on the sector.
The two companies were blacklisted in a 2008 House of Representatives report.
The Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC) meanwhile said since June 2018, power Generation Companies (GenCos) have not received payment from the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) for electricity generated.
APGC’s Executive Secretary Dr Joy Ogaji disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja yesterday. According to her, GenCos were being owed N500 billion for power generated from 2013, when they took over electricity generation, to December 2016.
She said: “The GenCos debt is classified into about three categories. So, when you are talking about debts, before even NBET came, market operators owed GenCos. If you calculate all that debt from 2013 to December 2016, GenCos’ debt was about N500 billion. This debt that we are talking about is without interest, because the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) says if they delay payment, GenCos are entitled to interest. So, this amount is without interest. It does not also cover the cost for available capacity.”
She said further: “GenCos make capacity available. So, the power that is being rejected…it does not cover that one, because that is a different cost. From 2017, NBET, through Federal Government’s Payment Assurance Guarantee, has only been paying 80 per cent and there is 20 per cent shortfall till date. And for this year, since June, we have not been paid.”
On GenCos meeting their obligation on payment to gas companies, Ogaji noted: “GenCos have been taking loans from banks to be able to meet their obligations in the market and put power on the grid. When we don’t generate, we are called saboteurs. They will start saying that the owners of the GenCos are PDP members; that is why they are not generating. But the government is not looking at the cost implication of putting power on the grid and you are not paying for it. There is no business person that will want to continue business when he is not getting anything on it. And upon that you are being accused that you are a saboteur.”
The APGC executive secretary however said GenCos were engaging NBET on the matter.
But the Head Corporate Communication of NBET, Mrs. Henrietta Ighomrore, described the alleged non-payment since June as inaccurate. GenCos have always received their payment as at when due, and at no time did NBET withhold payment to GenCos, she said.
“NBET does not retain any money. Every money we receive from the DisCos, we immediately pay it to the GenCos to settle their invoices,” she explained, stressing it is important to understand how payments are made in the electricity market.

“For instance, if you have January’s invoice, that invoice will be coming to you around the end of February or early March. The generating companies generate and then they send to us and then we send to the DisCos. At the end of the month, the Market Operator (MO) will read the meter and then raise the market settlement statement.”

Gas production leaps as NNPC records 1,858 vandalised pipelines
Monday, November 05, 2018 NEW

A total of 230.35 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas was produced in the country in July this year, averaging a daily production of 7,678.17 million standard cubic feet (mmscfd), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has disclosed.

The figure represents a 8.81 per cent increase over the previous month’s statistics.

Its monthly financial and operations report for July 2018 said 3,084.09Bcf of the product was produced in a year, representing an average daily production of 7,834.62mmscfd while the daily average supply to power plants stood at 744.86mmscfd, equivalent of 2,898 megawatts.

The survey noted that 1,858 cases of vandalised pipelines were recorded during the period.

The document pointed out that for July alone, 204 cases of pipeline vandalism were witnessed with 16 points either failed to be welded or ruptured/clamped.
It also indicated that 188 pipeline points were vandalised as against 165 recorded last month with Ibadan-Mosimi accounting for 124 points or 66 per cent of the cases while Aba-Enugu, PHC-Aba and other locations bore the rest.
A statement by NNPC Group General Manager Group Public Affairs, Ndu Ughamadu, explained that output from joint ventures (JVs), production sharing contracts (PSCs) and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) contributed 69.38 per cent, 21.69 per cent and 8.93 per cent to total national gas production
A further breakdown shows that 127.19bcf of the product were commercialised, comprising 35.55bcf and 91.65bcf for the domestic and export markets.
This translates to a total supply of 1,184.81mmscfd and 3,055.00mmscfd to the local and international markets for the month, implying that 55.98 per cent of gas was commercialised while the balance of 44.02 per cent was re-injected and used as upstream fuel or flared.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 5TH NOVEMBER.

JESUS IS GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1).

According to our theme scripture, Jesus Christ existed with God in the beginning as the Word. He’s the creator and maker of all things. John tells us, “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3). You’d notice, he didn’t say, “All things were made by IT”; he used the personal pronoun “him,” because the Word is a Person. The Word is God.

In Genesis 1, the Bible shows that God brought creation into being by His spoken Word. He spoke words, and they materialised. Now, John, talking about the Word, tells us that God made all things by the Word, meaning He made all things by Himself. John 1:14 NKJV says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us….” The Word, which is God, became flesh in the person of Jesus, and dwelt among us.

Matthew 1:23 says, “...they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” And then 1 Timothy 3:16 declares, “...God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” This brings all arguments to rest about the divinity of Christ: without a doubt, Jesus Christ is God! He’s God manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

Someone might say, “But isn’t Jesus the Son of God?” Yes! “Son of God” means God in the flesh. Recall the reaction of the Jews when He said to them, “I am the Son of God” (John 5:17-18); they picked up stones to stone Him to death; they were furious. They said, “How dare you, a man, make yourself equal with God by saying you’re the Son of God?” (John 10:33). They understood perfectly what He meant; He wasn’t merely referring to being born of God as God’s offspring. He meant He’s Himself, God!

Until you know and believe this about Jesus, you really can’t walk with Him; your faith in Him will be weak and ineffective. John tells us, “The word became flesh,” and Paul says the same thing: “God was manifest in the flesh”; that’s Jesus! Glory to His Name forever!

CONFESSION

The fullness of the Godhead lives in me, for Christ is in me; as He is, so am I in this world! The world is subdued before me, and I walk in righteousness, victory, success and prosperity now and evermore, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father?
Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Brick We Shall Expose Sanwo-olu Very Soon – PDP
User Avatar Forum: News

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State chapter on Sunday said Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will lose the 2019 governrship election irrespective of the endorsements he received from political parties in the state.

The party also promised to expose the APC governorship candidate “as truly not fit and proper to govern the state”.

“At the appropriate time, we shall expose Sanwo-Olu as truly not fit and proper to be elected governor of Lagos State,” the party said.

45 opposition parties at the weekend formed a coalition and endorse Sanwo-Olu as their candidate for the governorship election.

However, the PDP in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Barrister Taofik Gani said: “Sanwoolu is a ‘bad market’ that cannot appeal to Lagosians even if he buys political parties beyond the registered ones in the country”.

According to the PDP, the hurried and controversial emergence of the APC candidate is an indelible political albatross.

“Indeed the emergence is tainted with desperation to have someone as governor who will rather fund the APC leaders. Lagosians will not forget that this is the Lagos APC reason for dropping Governor Ambode.

“To us, the consequence of the Sanwo-Olu imposition is the terminal acrimony, defections and anti-party in the Lagos APC, which we shall duly capitalise on to end the reign of APC in Lagos state,” he said.

The PDP further described Sanwo-Olu as an emergency candidate who is unprepared for the job compared to the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje whose blueprint to free Lagos has been on since 2006.

2019: How APC Is Buying Pvcs Of Idps – PDP Cries Out
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 11-04-2018, 10:27 PM - No Replies

The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was buying the Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in the state.

PDP claimed that APC was “secretly” offering between N5, 000 to N10, 000 for each PVCs at the IDPs camp.

A statement signed and sent to DAILY POST by Bemgba Iortyom, PDP State Publicity Secretary urged the IDPs to shun such actions.

The state chapter of PDP also urged security agencies to investigate its claim and ensure that perpetrators were made to face the wrath of the law.

The statement reads, “PDP in Benue State has uncovered a scheme by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to buy voters cards belonging to internally displaced victims of Fulani herdsmen attacks some of who are presently taking refuge in camps in the state.

“Credible intelligence at our disposal indicate that APC is targeting to possibly manipulate and rig the 2019 elections in its favour through this scheme which the party launched on the day it staged a decamping ceremony inside the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp at Daudu.

“To have staged a decamping ceremony inside an IDPs camp alone was a record showing of moral depravity and conscienceless desperation, yet APC went a step further down the path of infamy with their agents secretly offering monies ranging between N5,000 and N10,000 to displaced persons at the camp in exchange for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) while the charade of a decamping ceremony lasted.

“The scheme has since then continued by the opposition party in the state with their agents going about secretly to IDPs camps and as well to residences housing those victims of herdsmen attacks offering to them various sums of money in exchange for their PVCs.

“This development is not only obnoxious and nefarious but directly targets to undermine the very institution of democracy which stands as the most prized asset Nigerians have next to the corporate entity of the country.

“Moreover, this scheme amounts to wickedly rubbing salt into the injuries of Benue IDPs who are suffering today because the APC controlled federal government failed to protect them from the swords, knives and bullets of Fulani herdsmen who have for years killed, maimed and plundered our land at will and unchallenged.

“We understand that APC presently is a failed political experiment only waiting to be consigned to the graveyard of history by Nigerians, as such the party may not be able to properly appreciate the value of the democratic culture which PDP painstakingly helped to nurture, yet the party must not be allowed to dangerously rock our ship of state in its dying moments.

“We, therefore, call on the good people of Benue State to rise up and condemn in the strongest possible terms this dastardly scheme by APC, and we urge all internally displaced persons to shun the devilish offer to sell their PVCs to the same party that has been responsible for their plight.

“Furthermore, we challenge security agencies to launch their own investigations into this matter and bring the perpetrators to book to safeguard and preserve our priceless institution of democracy, in the best interest of the Nigerian nation.”
