Ultra Fast Keto Boost it can prove difficult for men to make any meaningful strides towards losing the excess weight they've built-up over the years. The good news is there are quick weight loss products available on the market that work well. The bad news, if it was as easy as taking a pill and looking great, everybody would look great and nobody would be congratulated for their clear efforts in losing weight. The bottom line is some effort will have to go into an effective regime, but we need to work smart and not necessarily so hard.In most cases, the need to lose weight among men is sparked by a conscious decision to look and feel healthier. The desire to lose weight is often linked to symptoms of deteriorating health from being overweight. This could be as little as feeling out of breath when walking up stairs to surviving a heart attack.>>> https://www.supplementsmegamart.com/ultr...eto-boost/

Here's how to end worrying about future of Skin Science CBD. As a matter of fact, it isn't on target. They might need to investigate the problem further. That is the best way to do it. That's perhaps why complaints against Skin Science CBD declined by almost 63% over the previous year since we've been keeping a low profile. You should locate a local Skin Science CBD store and make it a point to visit but also it can reduce the enjoyment of Skin Science CBD. I'll try to let you down easy, but I lost you on that notion. Skin Science CBD has no meaning. You may be previously be covered when it draws a parallel to Skin Science CBD. It is something that so few rookies fail to do for a variety of reasons. Skin Science CBD is far and away the best. At least, for a rookie like me, Skin Science CBD still sort of an unknown. How do typical citizens hit upon noted Skin Science CBD recommendations? Who are you trying to look into something that provides an overview of Skin Science CBD? I can try… At any rate, where did Skin Science CBD come from? If so, get ready to learn my simple Skin Science CBD system. I have a three ring binder concerning Skin Science CBD to increase in value. I wish everything was as easy as Skin Science CBD even if the solution is to construct a Skin Science CBD.

Disgraced RnB star, R.Kelly was arraigned before a Cook County judge on Tuesday September 17, in prison outfit.

A major highlight of the court session the handcuffed singer appeared in was the Judge's refusal to increase the $1 million bond on his pending sex abuse cases.

Though prosecutors at the Leighton Criminal Court Building did not reveal how much they wanted to increase Kelly’s bond, it was also learnt that the presiding Judge also shot down an unusual bid by a woman who posted Kelly’s bond in February but now wants her $100,000 back.

Here are photos of the singer in prison outfit below;

I trust that if Jesus was preaching these days, he will be using a private jet - Rev. Lucy Natasha reveals why she bought a private jet

Rev. Lucy Natasha, the founder and overseer of Prophetic Latter Glory Ministries International waded into controversy surrounding the acquisition of private jets by preachers by revealing why she bought hers.

The Kenyan preacher told a local magazine that the Kingdom of God needs money and speed to reach the current generation. She also shared her belief of Jesus buying a private jet if he was still preaching in modern age.

Rev. Lucy also lashed out at those that make it a big deal when a pastor acquires a private jet but fails to do same when a politician tows same lane.

Quote:I don’t know why people make it a big deal when a preacher gets a private jet and they don’t do the same when a politician does the same. The Kingdom of God needs money and speed if we are to reach out fully to this generation… I trust that if Jesus was preaching during these days, he would be using such facilities,” she said.

She also revealed that owning a private jet has given her an opportunity to preach in more than 50 countries.

817 Nigerians waiting for evacuation in South Africa – FG

The Federal government has revealed that about 817 Nigerians are waiting to be evacuated from South Africa as of Tuesday September 17.

Though the Federal Government said 604 Nigerians registered for evacuation last week, the Consul-General of the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa, Godwin Adama disclosed that the number of those who had registered  for evacuation increased to 1,004 out of which 187 have already been evacuated.

Also making a complaint of some individuals who registered for evacuation failing to show up, the Consul-General told Punch that they are addressing the technical issues and other challenges that are discouraging such people.  He further revealed that about five coaches were being filled with people for the trip to the airport, including many children.

Quote:He said, “We have been working since 6am when I got here (consulate). I have not sat down. We have 320 coming back tomorrow(Wednesday). Some people who are supposed to be on the flight, when you call their names, they are not here.  We have registered 1,004 persons.  When these ones go, we will still have people on the ground.”
He noted, “Right now, we have five coaches here which we are loading. There are so many children. Those who don’t have current valid passport have been issued emergency travel certificates and we have ensured that their documentation is correct so that we won’t have the challenges we had the other time.
“We are also working with the host authorities – immigration and protocol – so  that by tomorrow (Wednesday)   things can be seamless.”

Adama also disclosed that the Nigerian High Commission was in touch with only 25 Nigerians among others held in various detention facilities across South Africa.

Quote:“We are ready to take those who are in detention camps, but we don’t have space right now because they (South Africa) didn’t finalise the process. If we have the opportunity, next time, we would take them.
“I would not know the exact number now because we have not visited all the detention centres. We are in touch with 25 but they are far more than that in different centres,” the CG explained.

The Consul-General concluded by stating that the Nigerians affected by cancellation of visa during the first evacuation, already told him that they had no plan of returning to South Africa.

BBNaija: Khafi I Didn't Have Sex With Gedoni But I Felt So Much Peace Around Him

Quote:BBNaija: I felt so much peace around Gedoni – Khafi

Evicted Housemate, Khafi Kareem says she loves her partner Gedoni Ekpata and felt so much peace around him whilst in the BBNaija Reality show.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that actress and presenter said this in her first major interview with host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu following her exit from the show.

Khafi who spoke on the intensity of her relationship with Gedoni, reiterated that they never had sex in the house.

“I felt such peace around him. I didn’t think I couldn’t be myself around him.

“We did not have sex. You know sex is a natural thing. If I did, I would actually say that’s what happened.

“I wouldn’t want to be given the penalisation or punishments for things I didn’t do,” she said.

She said, “I just feel like in the house, everything is so intense so where you will get to in a relationship over three months seeing somebody and been on a date with them is like a week in the house.

“The intensity seeing everybody when you wake up and when you go to sleep. I think it was after the eviction in the first week, after we were almost up that’s when our bond really grew.

The bubbling personality also revealed plans to host a Nigerian tourism show as part of her post-BBNaija plans.

When asked if she would fully concentrate on acting, Khafi said, “I love acting, I feel like it will be a given. I can do that with my eyes closed.

“I definitely want to do presenting. I would like to have a travel show where I showcase different states in Nigeria and just do some tourism stuff,” she said.

Ebuka also asked Khafi how she maintained her bubbly demeanour when her eviction was announced. She noted that she felt grateful for the experience.

She said, “I felt grateful. When my name was called, I would have been grateful to stay in the house.

“When I was leaving, I was like it had been an amazing last week in the house and I felt grateful and now I can begin the rest of my life,” she said.

On her relationship with fellow housemate Tacha, Khafi also described her relationship with Tacha as genuine, adding that they were naturally pulled towards each other.

She said, “interestingly I want to be friends with the person I think has no friends or who felt alone.

“I also felt alone in the house when I first came. We just gravitated to each other and we have been cool since the first week,” she said.

The police officer also noted that Ike Onyeama, who nominated her for eviction, was playing the best game in the house.

NAN reports that with Khafi’s eviction, there are ten housemates left to compete for the Grand prize worth 60 million Naira.

Nnamdi Kanu At European Parliament Says No Alternative To Referendum

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has said the group will remain committed to non-violent campaign for independent state of Biafra, even in the face of provocation.

Kanu also stated that international law was clear in relation to self-determination and wondered why the world has not seen what was happening in Nigeria as it pertained to intimidation, killings and maiming of Igbo people in particular, as a global crisis.

In a four-page briefing that IPOB prepared for the European parliament, Kanu insisted that there was no alternative to referendum.
“Where there is a credible claim for self-determination the only way to resolve the issue is by holding a referendum which complies with international standards. IPOB is calling for a referendum. It is for that reason the Nigerian authorities have sought to brand IPOB as a terrorist organisation. The EU, the UK and the US have all rejected the labelling of IPOB as a terrorist group. They know that IPOB seeks only to uphold human rights.

“There is a crisis in Nigeria. The Nigerian State has never been at peace with itself and recent events amplify this pending emergency.”
Kanu accused President Muhammadu Buhari of promoting the RUGA programme as a means for Fulani herders to officially move into areas and absorb land as part of a government coordinated programme across the country.

Although the programme has been suspended, Kanu raised the fears that the National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP) was still in place, advocating ranching. With this, he alleged that people in the eastern and southern parts of the country who are mainly Christians “are forced from their land and will be killed if they do not make way for the Fulani.”
Kanu decried the role played by most of the world powers during the 30-month civil war.

He stated that the people of the defunct Biafra were more comfortable under colonial rule than in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The atrocities, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against Biafra during the Biafran War remain unaccounted for. Was it an attempt at genocide? Biafrans were considered an existential threat to the state. The killings were indiscriminate. All Biafrans were targeted.
“Nigeria continues to prioritise crushing assertions of Biafran identity. Even peacefully commemorating the war risks arrest, detention, ill-treatment or being shot.

“In recent years, the Nigerian state authorities have conducted three orchestrated campaigns against Biafrans. The three Operation Python Dance campaigns have been battles against Biafrans. The first campaign was in 2016, the second in 2017 and the third is ongoing. They are designed to undermine calls for Biafran self-determination.
“Operation Python Dance campaigns intimidate. Serious and systemic human rights violations are carried out by state forces with impunity.

“IPOB has always called for creative solutions to recognise Biafrans’ right to self-determination. However, what is clear is that the existing model of the Nigerian constitution is fatally flawed. It continues to cause harm to all within the jurisdiction and it is unsustainable,” he said.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 18TH SEPTEMBER.

YOUR STATUS AND YOUR STATE

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

There’s a clear distinction between your status and your state. Your life isn’t about what you’re going through. The revelation of God’s Word that you have unveils your status, but that may not change your state or situation, until you put the Word to work.

The first thing you need to understand is what God says about your status, because if you understand your status, then you can change your state. This means you superimpose the tenets and principles of the Kingdom on your situation for a change.

In our Kingdom, for example, it’s written that greater is He that’s in you than he that’s in the world. If you’re conscious of this reality, and understand your status as the one in whom Christ literally dwells, you’ll be unperturbed, irrespective of the adversities you face, because you know you’ll always win! The greater One is in you.

The prognosis about your health situation may seem dire, but your status is that you have the very life and nature of God, and divine health is at work in you NOW! This must be clear to you. And once you act on that truth, the health situation will change.

Perhaps it’s a situation of lack; there’s no money in your account; that doesn’t mean you’re broke or poor. Take your eyes off the situation; focus on your status. The Word says you’re the seed of Abraham; you own the world. You’re an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ. Hallelujah!

Always remember that the challenges you face, irrespective of how they come, are subject to change. Your role is to act on the Word; keep affirming who you are in Christ. As you keep your focus on the Word, you’re metamorphosed, and every unfavourable situation will align with your status as an associate of the God-kind.

CONFESSION

The Sovereign Lord is my refuge and strength, and my ever-present help. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and enables me to go on high heights! Whatever comes my way, my victory is assured, because greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world! I know who I am! Hallelujah!

#TALKINGSESSION

18TH SEPTEMBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Father, thank You for awakening in me the consciousness of my spirituality through the Word. My attention is set on things above—not on earthly, carnal, mundane, or transient things. I walk in victory, power and the dominion of the Spirit, because I am spiritually minded, with my unalloyed attention on the true light of the Word.

I am one with the Father; therefore, I refuse to be governed, controlled or ruled by the physical senses; rather, I see, think, talk and live by faith, and respond to issues and situations through the Word.

I live in the Word and walk in the full consciousness of the spiritual Kingdom to which I belong, enjoying the full provisions of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Osinbajo Stripped Of Powers Over NEMA, Other Agencies
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:I didn’t breach due process – VP Vice President

Yemi Osinbajo has been stripped of some of his powers over some Federal Government agencies under his supervision, indications emerged yesterday.

Sources in the Presidency confirmed to Daily Trust that the vice president, through a memo, had received a presidential directive on Monday asking him to seek presidential approvals for those agencies. The vice president chairs the governing boards of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and the National Boundary Commission (NBC).

He also chairs the Board of Directors of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), a limited liability company owned by the three tiers of government as well as the Chairman of National Council on Privatisation (NCP). The new directive came in the wake of alleged irregularities in running the affairs of the agencies. There was no reason given by the Presidency on the latest directive.

However, a statement issued last night by the Office of the Vice President said the Number Two citizen never breached due process in running the affairs of the agencies. Also, reports in some quarters suggested that recent developments were part of the resolve of President Buhari to further decentralize some of the powers vested within the confines of the Presidency in line with the dictates of his “Next Level Agenda.”

Two days ago, President Muhammadu Buhari disbanded the Economic Management Team (EMT) headed by the vice president and replaced it with an Economic Advisory Council (EAC). One of the sources at the Presidency told the Daily Trust that the memo stripping the vice president of powers to give final approval to the agencies was issued last week, but that Prof. Osinbajo received it on Monday.

“Yes, that has been there since last week. He has been directed to be seeking presidential approvals on all the agencies under his supervision,” the source stated. However, Osinbajo, in a statement yesterday by his spokesman, Laolu Akande, described as false, insinuations that he did not follow due process in the supervision of agencies under him. The vice president denied that he did not normally comply with established rules where presidential approvals were required.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a sensational report by The Cable published on September 17, 2019, which claims that His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, has directed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to seek approvals for agencies under him. “The report suggests, falsely, that agencies under the supervision of the Vice President do not normally comply with established rules where presidential approvals are required.

“This is obviously misleading and aims only to plant seeds of discord in the Presidency, while attempting to create unnecessary national hysteria. “The agencies in question are established by law and the Vice President has always insisted on due compliance with the enabling statutes and other established regulations.

“Depending on the particular scope of activity in question, agencies may require management approval only, at the level of the Director-General or Chief Executive Officer. In this category falls the great majority of their day-to-day activities. “

However, other activities, or procurements, with value exceeding a certain threshold, require Board approval. These may get to the agency Board chaired by the Vice President. In a few cases where Presidential approval is required, the Director-General must seek such approval from the President, through the Vice President.

These rules have always guided the activities of statutory agencies and the ones under the Vice President’s supervision have always been so guided. “To claim that in the first term of the Buhari administration, agencies of government have not been complying with the provisions (of getting final approvals from the President) is false, and the attempt to suggest the Vice President’s complicity in such irregularities is simply mischievous and reprehensible.

“The effective and mutually respecting relationship between the President and the Vice President is well known to Nigerians and it is futile to insinuate otherwise. “Even though the Vice President has a statutory role as Board Chairman of some government agencies under his office, with appropriate approval limits, which often do not include contract approvals; it is ludicrous to even insinuate that a Board Chairman approves contracts.

“Evidently, the Federal Executive Council, which oversees Federal Ministries and agencies of government, is chaired by the President, and it is in its purview to approve or ratify award of contracts within the prescribed threshold. “The Vice President remains committed to the service of his fatherland and will continue to do so despite the purveyors of fake news. We urge media organizations, as gatekeepers, to uphold truth, balance, fairness and objectivity in their reports.”

Though the Act of the National Assembly establishing some agencies domiciled their oversight in the Office of the Vice President, Section 130 (2) of the 1999 Constitution, said: “The President shall be the Head of State, the Chief Executive of the Federation and Commander -in- Chief of the Armed Forces.” Also, Section 148 (1) of the Constitution said, “The President may, in his discretion, assign to the Vice-President or any Minister of the Government of the Federation responsibility for any business of the Government of the Federation, including the administration of any department of government.”

A government official said in confidence that the vice president was also briefed that NEMA and the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) would be moved from his office to the newly created Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social development, headed by Sadiya Umar Farouq. One of the recently retired permanent secretaries, told the Daily Trust that it was better not to read meanings, either political or otherwise to this development.

President has discretion to assign roles to VP- Ex NBA chair A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Austine Allegeh, SAN, yesterday debunked rumours making the round of an alleged friction between President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo, saying that nothing should be read into the replacement of the VP as the head of the EMT or other responsibilities. Speaking in a telephone chat with Daily Trust, Allegeh said that the decision of President Buhari to replace the VP as head of the EMT was a simple decision.

When informed that the President had also directed that Prof. Osinbajo should henceforth not give outright approval to the agencies, Allegeh said that it was the President that determined what to do in respect of how his government would be run.

The former NBA President mentioned that it was in the wisdom and absolute discretion of the President to replace Prof. Osinbajo as the head of the EMT or whatever. “No friction should be read into this neither…It is not to whittle down the powers of the VP. It is the President’s absolute discretion to give the VP more work in other areas,” he said.

‘Politics at play’ But a top northern politician who spoke to one of our correspondents last night, linked the development to the scheming for the 2023, urging the president to speak on the matter. The politician, who does not want to be named, said: “There are likely to be speculations regarding anything the president does now.

“One, because this is his last term. Two, because there is a lot of intense activity by people very close to him as they want to get an edge in the competition over who will succeed him (Buhari) come 2023.” According to him, “The last thing that the president who is already running a very difficult administration needs is to have his deputy embroiled in a speculation and controversy that divert attention from the routine running of the government.

“However, it is fair for Nigerians to speculate whether this is part of the ongoing fight between El-Rufai, Tinubu and Osinbajo himself. “You can’t wish away some of these speculations…It is part of normal politics and governance. I wish the president will say something clearly and specifically to lay to rest some of these rather disturbing speculations. This is what he needs to do,” he said.

Liz Anjorin countersues Toyin Abraham and demands an apology after she was sued for libel

Liz Anjorin has countersued Toyin Abraham after she was sued for libel.

Toyin Abraham sued Liz Anjorin first for libel after Liz accused her of being the one who provides Instagram blogs with damaging information about her fellow actresses (read here).

Toyin reacted by saying she will not come down to Liz's level. Toyin replied with legal documents demanding that Liz "cease and desist in publishing defamatory statements" about her.

In reply to being sued, Liz granted an interview where she stood her ground and continued to attack Toyin Abraham.

She eventually went the legal route too and sued Toyin Abraham. Liz Anjorin's lawyer demanded an apology from Toyin for posting defamatory statements about her.

Sharing the legal documents, Liz wrote:

Quote:I am used to myopic cracked head and dead, low life with zero achievement sychrophants consoling themselves with lines such as "I have instructed my lawyer to respond, bla bla bla" when weighty allegations and evidence(s) stare them in the face.
By principle, I am an APOSTLE of dignity and respect on social media and by nature I am never going to keep QUIET in the face of EVIL and wickedness. I also belief that whatever rights you have, you must be responsible with them. The fact, that you have rights to have fans doesn't mean you groom them to commit crime or indulge in anti-social behaviours online.

The gibberish you gave as a reaction is tasteless, classless and uncouth. When you maliciously came up on social media in your usual way to lie against me and subjected my hardwork and personality to untold cyber-attacks with the aid of your followers with deadly, fabricated evidence(s) , , The evil you groomed will consume you soon.
I think the WORLD will soon see that you have no single dignity left in you, hence you could still muster words when a FAN or an account you glorify openly is seen sending secret message to a criminal blogger just to subject your colleague to defamation, cyber-attacks and assaults. You are an example of failed women trying bring HARDWORKING women down secretly.
You accused me of peddling DRUGS and left me with no option now than write a petition to NDLEA to investigate both of US for drug related offences. They must as a matter of fact TEST both of us for drugs and publish their outcome. You and I know you desperately need a high powered rehab before you can stop taking cocaine. And only God knows how many of your followers and fans you have initiated into these substance intake.

While I am using my resources to empower and employ people, you are busy using your followers as human shields to hurt your colleagues and targets. You may fake your personality to them, but we know you. .
You must tell the world why your glorify follower @m_adeoye slide into a deadly blogger to sponsor a deadly and destructive story against me ..
.
Until I get justice I will NEVER back down ..

This can't be equaled. We're caught in the crosshairs. It is all the monkey business you'll want. If you're ready to use Derma Joie Review, stick around. Derma Joie Ingredients is a good friend of mine. Nulante Cream has a rich history in Germany. Permit me to elaborate so this is one of the high profile industries. Don't be fooled, Nulante Cream is a lot of work. We'll keep them coming. I may have to get rid of my stress. I am envious of Nulante Cream. It gets my highest recommendation ever. When you gather about your Derma Joie Trial Offer you should keep this in mind. It is a sure remedy to the issue. My Nulante Cream concept was failing miserably at this time. I feel as if I was left out of that. Most organizations have seen Nulante Cream before. How would we do that? Here's what my step sister quotes, "Every minute counts." It needs several sophisticated tests. That is a no win situation. Everybody sees and nobody sees it. Derma Joie Review needs each and every advantage it can get. The first time I ever saw Derma Joie Ingredients was over 15 years ago as before I get into the meat of that report on Derma Joie Ingredients, I might have to let you know that this guide is going to be worthwhile. If I need to do that tomorrow, then this is what I'll do. Nevertheless, you can conceive of that.

80% Of University Lecturers Are Quacks - Shehu Chindo Yamusa
User Avatar Forum: News

Quote:The Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Shehu Chindo Yamusa III has alleged that about 80 percent of Nigeria university lecturers are quacks, hence lacking the skills and method to be in the classroom.

He advocated to the management of various Nigeria universities to ensure that those to be employed as lecturers have the minimum required certificate in education or related programs approved by Teachers Registration Council or National teachers Institute.

The Chancellor who was speaking at the 2nd stakeholders’ meeting of University in Keffi said those already in the system and have no training or qualification in education should go back to class room in order to become more productive.

“It is evident that, 80 percent of lecturers are not professionals, but only those in the faculty of education and few ones that have PGDE in other Faculties are qualify to teach.

“Some universities have started full implementation of “MUST HAVE” PGDE before employ as lecturers and where a Lecturer does not have, he/she is recommended to faculty of education for one or two years programs, after which he/she is engaged in the field of facilitations.”

Yamusa III who was a university lecturer before ascending to his ancestral throne as Emir of Keffi, tongue-lashed management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi for promoting sentiments responsible for the fallen standard of university education system.

He however blamed lack of adherence to due process and rule of law as factor militating against the growth of the university in all aspects.

“It is sad that meritocracy doctrine has been jettison in the university administration.

“However, not to long ago many lecturers were recruited based on favouritism, politics and primordial mundane sentiments and that added degradation to the realization of intended objectives.”

The Vice Chancellor, Suleiman-Bala Mohammed who corroborated his views to that of the Chancellor said, he was going to fight unethical conducts and introduce whistle blowing policy to expose lecturers engaged fraudulent activities in the system.

Mohammed stated that the university was confronted with a number of challenges that have threatened its potentials growth.

He mentioned drift towards impunity, dilapidated infrastructure, inadequate facilities, agitation for compensation of university land, inadequate funding are among other factors confronting the University’s growth.

He lamented how the image of the university has gone bad due to the activities of few minority and assured that, with the support of other management staff he was going “to fish out bad eggs, mercenaries in the university”.

Buhari Will Soon Render Osinbajo, Tinubu's Loyalists In APC Impotent- Ozekhome

Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari will soon render Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu impotent in the coming days.

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Ozekhome who said the battle for the heart and soul of the 2023 presidential election has already begun said President Buhari will also make them feel accommodated in APC and ultimately discard them.

One thing I want to assure Nigerians is that going by the trajectory of President Buhari’s persona, the VicePresident Yemi Osinbajo and the Tinubu group will be rendered more and more impotent, unaccommodated and discarded.

“The battle for the heart and soul of 2023 has already earnestly begun. Read my lips,” he said

3-man Syndicate Arrested For Impersonating EFCC, ICPC
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 09-17-2019, 07:35 PM - No Replies

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested three men in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State Capital, for allegedly impersonating operatives of both the Economic and financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC. The arrested suspects are Norbert Rampa, 51; Patrick Essien, 50; and Gabriel Daniel, 32.

Rampa, Essien and Daniel, along with other members of their team had paid a courtesy visit to the Commissions office in Uyo, on September 19, 2018, under the Grassroot Development Advocacy Initiative (GDAI) which they claim was a registered organisation, under the auspices of National Anti-corruption Coalition (NACC).

During that visit, their National Director, Essien, spoke extensively on the several trainings that their members had gone through to ensure grassroot engagements in budget processes, aimed at sustaining the fight against corruption. Rampa who introduced himself as the Director of programmes emphasised on their 'robust' collaboration with the ICPC, with an unsettling request that they be granted operational powers, to which the zonal head refused and advised them to report all perceived corrupt practices to the Commission.

But the team paid no heed to that advice as some of its top ranking members embarked on various levels of forgery and impersonation to facilitate their criminal activities which must have been going on for years under the guise of 'Grassroot Initiative'.

The modus operandi of this criminal extortion is purely hinged on intimidation of innocent persons and extortion of same under the pretext that they were in an operational joint tax force of both the EFCC and the ICPC.

But they ran out of luck when they picked on one Aloysius Udobong, an elderly retiree for their game of intimidation and extortion.

When they initiated their move to intimidate and extort Udobong but could not, they decided to send in a fictitious petition against him to the EFCC, with well concocted claims that he was a corrupt retired public servant.

When Udobong was invited for questioning, he volunteered his statement against the 'Grassroot' trio, with documented evidence of their forgeries and false claims which instantly turned the table against them as they automatically became the suspects.

According to Udobong, sometime in 2018, the syndicate issued him a letter of investigation purportedly emanating from the EFCC and attempted to extort him, but when they discovered that he wasn't willing to comply with their financial demands, they left. But returned again to his residence in 2019 with more letters this time, showing details of all his assets and properties, threatening to prosecute him unless he "settled" them.

After his statement had been taken, Mr. Udobong also presented some of the various invitation/investigation letters which he claimed were personally delivered to him by Rampa. On seeing the forged letters, operatives of the Commission decided to carry out a search of their various apartments. The outcome of that search completely established the fact that Rampa, Essien and Daniel, had been impersonating the EFCC and ICPC in the state and beyond.

Some of the forged documents recovered from their apartments include: forged EFCC letter-headed papers; ICPC operational jackets; forged Identity cards of National Anti-corruption Coalition of ICPC/EFCC Partnership; various forged letters to individuals and organisations purportedly coming from EFCC and ICPC; forged investigation letters to First Bank of Nigeria; handwritten drafts of fake petitions against individuals; forged investigation letters from the suspects to the complainant Mr. Udobong and a Desktop computer.

Other forged items recovered include a fake letter headed paper clearly written: 'a national anti-corruption coalition (NACC) of ICPC/EFCC partnership, that captured Rampa as 'Head, Intelligence Investigator/Operations', a forged EFCC letter headed paper with the Commission's logo on the left hand side and the coat of arms on the right hand side and forged identity cards.

The trio were arrested on Friday, September 13, 2019, by operatives of the Commission in Uyo and are currently providing useful information. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

All the victims of the Port Harcourt unknown serial killer were tied with a white handkerchief on their necks

Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt is currently in chaos and in tears as several ladies have been reportedly killed in different hotels by an unidentified serial killer.

Another lady was reportedly murdered again in a hotel located at Rumuola, Port Harcourt on Sunday. And as usual, a white handkerchief was tied on the Unclad victim's legs, hands and neck.

The lifeless body of the yet to be identified lady was discovered on Monday Sept. 16 inside one of the rooms of the hotel. This is coming few days after another lady was found strangled to death at another hotel in the State.

One of the victims identified as Nikky Dora worked at the hotel. Her sister Nketa Esther Bright said she was killed alongside another staff while attending to some guys that booked a room at the lodging facility.

The Nigerian Police Force had claimed that prostitution is what got the victims to the hotel rooms and also what got them killed. But, a twitter user recently tweeted revealing the 'modus operandi' of the alleged serial killers on the lose in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

According to the Twitter user, the killers are ritualists who pose as potential customers to unsuspecting victims. She said most of their victims (all females) are online vendors who are usually lured to the hotels to deliver "pay on delivery" wares.

She also claimed that the killers usually use a lady to communicate with the "vendors", making it look really unsuspicious.

She said such "vendors", upon arrival at the hotels, are lured to the rooms by the female posing as customer, with flimsy excuse of being too lazy to walk, or not dressed up.

When asked by her followers how she managed to gather such information, she claimed a friend who was lucky not to have fallen victim, shared the story.

According to the story, the lady overheard a male voice at the background of the telephone conversation with her suppose female buyer.

She claimed her friend heard a male voice whispering to her suppose customer 'tell her to come to the room', which made her to quickly exit the premises.

This year alone, more than 8 ladies have been murdered in hotels and in similar manner, prompting people to believe a serial killer is on the prowl in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

South Africa frustrates evacuation of 320 Nigerians

Again, South Africa frustrates evacuation of 320 Nigerians

Evacuation of the second batch of Nigerians from South Africa due to the ongoing xenophobic attacks has suffered an interruption on Tuesday, September 17th following the delay in granting landing permit to Air Peace.

The airline has volunteered to evacuate Nigerians willing to return to the country following the recent violence against foreigners in the southern African country. The airline in collaboration with the Federal Government had on September 11 evacuated the first batch of 187 Nigerians from South Africa.

There was a plan for the airline to evacuate another batch of 320 Nigerians who had indicated interest to return home, with the flight expected to arrive in Lagos at 7.00p.m today. However, Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, told newsmen in Lagos that the airline’s B777 aircraft deployed for the operation was still on standby at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

According to him, the aircraft is supposed to have departed Lagos at 1.00 am, but was denied landing permit by the South African authorities.

Quote:“We did not take off at 1:00am as scheduled because South African authorities are yet to give us landing permit. We are hopeful that they will give us the permit. Our crew waited till 3:00 am, but when the permit did not come, they went back to the hotel. Once we get the permit we will set off to South Africa. We don’t want to speculate but we are hopeful they will give the permit,”Onyema said.
The South African authorities had on September 11 also prevented some Nigerians from leaving the country, by insisting on a fresh profiling exercise in spite of the one earlier conducted by the Nigerian High Commission. The situation led to several hours of delay before 187 of the more than 300 Nigerians were successfully evacuated.

Again, Dangote's Tomato Processing Factory Shuts Down

Dangote launched the company in March 2016, to reduce importation of tomato paste, estimated at 400,000 tonnes annually.

The Dangote tomato processing factory located in Kano has been shut down after farmers engaged to supply the factory with raw materials abandoned tomato farming at the start of the rainy season in May.

The factory resumed operations in March after being idle for three years.

According to Abdulkareem Kaita, the managing director of Dangote Farms, the company is losing at least N30 million every month that it remains shut.

The factory, which is Nigeria’s largest, has the capacity to process 1,200 tonnes of tomato a day.

The plant needs about 40 trucks of fresh tomatoes per day with each truck handling 30 tonnes of produce.

Dangote launched the company in March 2016, to reduce importation of tomato paste, estimated at 400,000 tonnes annually.

Nigeria is reported to be Africa’s third-largest importer of the commodity, importing from China and some other Asian countries.

Upon resumption of operations in March, the company was only able to produce 20% of its capacity due to inadequate supply of tomatoes.

“We knew tomato is a seasonal crop before we started as it’s the case in China and Europe,” Bloomberg quoted Kaita to have said.

“What we set out to do was reduce the post-harvest loss yearly to feed the factory.”

The farm has already acquired a 5,000-hectare of farmland to cultivate a high-yield variety of tomatoes to supply the factory with raw materials and at the same time introduce the variety to other farms to increase their productivity.

“With this, the output of the farmers would tremendously improve and the processing factory would record ample supply,” Kaita said.

“The effective implementation of the government’s policy in restricting tomato paste importation will guarantee more investment in the tomato value chain, which will eventually lead to self-sufficiency in few years to come.”

In February, Audu Ogbeh, the former minister of agriculture, had said the federal government would ban the importation of tomato paste before the end of 2019.

Nigeria: Inflation Eases To 11.02% In August From 11.08%
User Avatar Forum: Market Place

By Adedapo Adesanya

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday said inflation rate in Nigeria has dropped to 11.02 percent in August 2019 from the 11.08 percent recorded in July 2019. This indicated that the inflation moderated by 0.06 percent in the period under review.

In the report made available on the NBS website, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measure inflation, had disinflation continuing in August 2019 despite several pronouncements on policies as regards restrictions on the import of some food items like milk and rice, minimum wage and the recent border closures.

However, the stats office said, “It is important to note that with respect to the latter (border closures), the border was only closed 20 August 2019 with only 11 days of 31 days for any significant impact to be felt either way on prices.”

The report also added, “Furthermore, the harvest season and existing weak consumer demand and their natural effect to slow down food and other prices will also play a major role in determining the direction of inflation.”

In the month under review, it was also revealed that all major indices slowed except urban inflation year on year.

The urban inflation rate increased by 11.48 percent (year-on-year) in August 2019 from 11.43 percent recorded in July 2019, while the rural inflation rate increased by 10.61 percent in August 2019 from 10.64 percent in July 2019.

On a month-on-month basis, the Headline index increased by 0.99 percent in August 2019 showing a drop rate of 0.02 percent lower than 1.01 percent recorded in July 2019.

Still on a month-on-month basis, the urban index rose by 1.04 percent in the month under review, down by 0.03 from 1.07 percent recorded in July 2019, while the rural index also rose by 0.93 percent in August 2019, down by 0.03 from 0.96 percent recorded in July 2019.

As regards the corresponding twelve-month year-on-year average, percentage change for the urban index is 11.62 percent in August 2019 less than 11.64 percent reported in July 2019, while the corresponding rural inflation rate in August 2019 is 10.95 percent compared to 10.97 percent recorded in July 2019.

Fulani Herdsmen From Chad, Niger To Benefit From Fg’s Livestock Plan
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:Fulani herdsmen from Chad, Niger to benefit from FG’s livestock plan

Fulani herdsmen from Chad, Niger and other neighbouring countries will benefit from the National Livestock Transformation Plan, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has said.

Mohammed, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, said since Fulani herdsmen are nomadic, it would be inappropriate to deprive them from benefitting from the livestock plan just because they are not from Nigeria.

The initiative will be 80 per cent funded by the Federal Government while the states would provide 20 per cent counterpart funding and the grazing land.

The governor, whose state is among those that will be part of the initiative, said Fulani exist in many countries across Africa and share a brotherhood which transcends boundaries.

When asked how the government would ensure that only Nigerians benefit from the livestock plan, Mohammed said, “I think there is a lot of mistrust and misconception as regards the Fulani man. The Fulani man is a global or African person. He moves from The Gambia to Senegal and his nationality is Fulani.

“As a person I may have my relations in Cameroon but they are also Fulani. I am a Fulani man from my maternal side, we will just have to take this as our own heritage, something that is African. So we cannot just close our borders and say the Fulani man is just a Nigerian.

“In most cases, the crisis is precipitated by those outside Nigeria. When there is a reprisal, it is not the Fulani man within Nigeria that causes it. It is that culture of getting revenge which is embedded in the traditional Fulani man that attracts reprisal.”

When asked if it was right to allow foreigners to benefit from Nigerian taxpayers’ money, the governor said it was proper.

He said Fulani don’t actually have one single nationality since they are nomadic in nature.

Mohammed said “We are already accommodating them. Do you delineate and really know who is not a Nigerian Fulani man?

“They are all Nigerians because their identity, their citizenship is Nigerian even though they have relatives from all over the world. So, presumably they are Nigerians because they move all over and have relations all over. That is why our population in Nigeria is fluid.”

When asked if there would be any form of documentation for the Fulani herdsmen coming into Nigeria from other countries, the governor said, “Yes. This will give Nigeria the opportunity of having proper documentation and knowing the demography because the Fulani man settles anywhere he can feed his cattle.”

The livestock plan which is being championed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo seeks to put herdsmen and their livestock in designated colonies which will give them the opportunity of exploiting the livestock value chain.

While many northern states have embraced it, their southern counterparts have rejected it.

Apparently, take the time to develop Emylia Cream. Irregardless, this is where I am at today. I'm certain a few bosses are by this time aware of Emylia Cream. You can't take advantage of Emylia Cream if you don't do that. Several fans are hard wired that way. Here's how you can enhance your Emylia Cream. Many fellow travelers can be hypnotised. It is unrepeated how clubs do not get an overly complex proceeding like this. You need to look for these sorts of articles. Unequivocally, Emylia Cream is starting to make sense. Here is the best analysis. Emylia Cream can seamlessly attract attention. There's nothing like watching Emylia Cream in motion. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but it doesn't seem like it would be worth the trouble. It's the foundation of Emylia Cream. When I sense about my own experiences with Emylia Cream, I have an urge about Emylia Cream. Give this idea a whirl, "See you later, alligator." Emylia Cream isn't worth a hill of beans. Every little fact must be covered. Where can connoisseurs come upon new Emylia Cream clues? I'm very particular when it comes to Emylia Cream. I'm going away from this idea myself. I have chosen to surround myself with Emylia Cream women. You wonder what has worked for me? Well, like they say, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." It's completely acceptable. Tell the President how he mismanaged the economy in the last 4 years - Obi Ezekwesili tells new Economic Advisory Council

Oby Ezekwesili, a former presidential candidate in a series of tweets this morning has urged the newly constituted Economic Advisory Council to make it a priority to tell President Buhari, how he has allegedly 'mismanaged the economy.'

Ezekwesili pointed out that the Economic Advisory Council system was copied from the American presidential system and she also absolved Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who headed the dissolved Economic Management Team, of any blame in how the Nigerian economy had turned out.

Quote:In her words “the setting up a Council of Economic Advisors is in itself one of the features of the American Presidential system which we copied. Strong membership and that’s really great. I hope the first thing they do is tell the President how he mismanaged the economy in the last 4 years.
“For those who will jump on this timeline to say, ‘It was not the President that was in charge of the economy. It was the VP chairing the Economic Team’ please don’t bother. The President was managing the economy. All those bad monetary policy decisions were made by him.
“Two, the President was managing the economy. All those strange fiscal policy decisions were made by him. Both the CBN Governor and the Ministers of Finance were not acting based on any Economic Management Team decisions. For WIA. Now at least the pretence is over about economy.
“The EMT was in reality chaired by the VP who had no power over core economic policy decisions. The other side of the Presidency did not mind having him be the cannon fodder for all the extremely bad economic policy decisions. A President, not VP runs the economy. I know that.”
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday replaced the Economic Management Team with an Economic Advisory Council, the Presidency said. The replaced EMT was chaired by the Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

The new EAC Buhari named on Monday had Prof Doyin Salami as the chairman.  Other members are Dr Mohammed Sagagi (vice-chairman); Prof Ode Ojowu; Dr Shehu Yahaya; Dr Iyabo Masha; Prof Chukwuma Soludo; Mr Bismark Rewane; and  Dr Mohammed Adaya Salisu (Secretary).

Improving indigenous carriers’ on-time performance

[url=https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Untitled-3.jpg]

Weather, air traffic control restrictions, delay in supply of aviation fuel, inadequate airport, air navigation infrastructure and others have negatively impacted the capacity of domestic carriers to keep to scheduled time. Despite these, some of the carriers are scaling up their operations to achieve on-time performance, KELVIN OSA OKUNBOR reports.

Effective management of time is increasingly becoming an attraction in global air travel. It is for this reason that air travel is gaining global attention among  other modes of transportation.

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), carriers carried over 4.5 billion passengers last year. It said given the peculiarity of air travel, current trends suggest that passenger traffic could hit 8.2 billion by 2037.

According to IATA Director-General and Chief Executive, Alexandre de Juniac, air travel would continue to grow if carriers improved on their on-time performance.

In Nigeria, statistics from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) indicate that 9.2 million passengers passed through the airports in 140,552 aircraft between January and September 2017. The statistics gave the breakdown as 6.38 million domestic and 2.8 international passengers. It also showed that 110,220 domestic and 30,332 international flights were operated across the nation’s 22 airports during the period under review.

The domestic carriers, according to FAAN, included Overland Airways, Arik Air, Air Peace, First Nation Airways, Azman Air, Med View Airlines and  Aero  Contractors .

It further revealed that 4.6 million passengers arrived the country in 70,680 flights, while 4.5 million passengers departed in 69,872 flights.

Figures released by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) indicated that  14,171,722 air travellers went through Nigeria Airports last year. A new entrant, Max Air,  joined the fray in the period under review.

The data endorsed by NCAA’s Consumer Protection Directorate represents a 20.8 per cent increase to the 11,221,608 passengers recorded between January and December 2017.

According to the document, the 34 airlines on international routes operated 15,645 flights and flew 4,079,0789 passengers during the period under review.

Despite the increase in passenger traffic in the country, airlines continue to grapple with delayed or cancelled flights. Experts say delayed or cancelled flights are becoming a nightmare for many passengers, who want carriers to improve on their on-time performance.

In an interview, NCAA Director-General Captain Mukhtar Usman said airlines should not be blamed for cancelling or delaying flights for safety and security reasons.

He said some carriers have significantly improved on their on-time performance compared to a few years ago. According to him, more than half of the flights by eight domestic carriers a few years ago were either cancelled or delayed.

But, the NCAA in the last few years has taken steps to ensure defaulting carriers keep their obligation to passengers. In doing this, the regulator scaled up the operation of its consumer protection directorate such that infractions on passengers rights are addressed. One of the infractions is failure of airlines to carry passengers along on the status of their flights. the NCAA insists that airlines are sanctioned  if they fail to meet the requirements on the status of their flights.

To address this, some domestic carriers have either acquired more aircraft; improved turn- around time and are taking measures to settle bills for aircraft fuelling; aeronautical charges and other pre-flight logistics. Besides, some carriers have reworked their route scheduling to ensure that delay in the operating aircraft for one sector or flight rotation does not lead to delay in another operation.

Investigations revealed that, since the first quarter of this year, there has been a significant drop in cancelled or delayed flights.

Checks from the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) revealed that Arik Air is leading the pack in on-time performance. An air traffic controller said in the last one year Arik Air flights has been departing on time.

Arik Air Managing Director Captain Roy Ilegbodu attributed the airline’s punctuality  to increase in fleet size and improvement in turn-around time.

Besides Arik Air, other carriers, including Dana Air, Air Peace, and lately Aero Contractors, have recorded improvement on their on-time performance. Statistics obtained from the NCAA Consumer Protection Directorate indicated that since last year  domestic carriers have scaled up their operations. The data indicated that, in the first quarter of last year, overall on-time performance  report stood at 61 per cent, but increased to 76  per cent in same quarter of this year.

In the second quarter, April to June, overall on-time performance for airlines moved from 66 per cent in 2018 to 84 per cent in the year. In the third quarter, June to September, overall on-time performance for airlines moved from 68 per cent last year to 84 per cent this year.

In the last quarter of last year, it moved from 60 per cent to 84 per cent .

A breakdown of on-time performance for domestic flights, according to the NCAA data, shows 61 per cent in 2018 compared to  77 per cent in the year for the first quarter; while the second quarter indicates 68 per cent for domestic carriers’ on-time performance for 2018 compared to 85 per cent for same carriers in 2019.

The data puts the third quarter domestic carriers’ on-time performance at 69 per cent for 2018 compared to 85 per cent for the year. The fourth quarter domestic carriers’ on-time performance stood at 59 per cent for 2018 as against 85 per cent for 2019.

Industry experts say the improvement in on-time performance could also be attributed to joint venture agreements signed by some carriers with aircraft owners to achieve seamless operations.

Arik Air in particular signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Value Jets for the use of its aircraft on some domestic routes, including Lagos-Abuja. With more aircraft in its fleet, the airline has improved its turn- around time. Besides, increasing its aircraft fleet and enhanced relationship with regulatory agencies, it was learnt, are some of the factors responsible for its flight punctuality.

In separate interviews, some passengers relived their experience on some domestic carriers which have improved on their on-time performance.

Emeka Nnodim, passenger on Lagos-Abuja route, said in his Twitter handle: “What has happened to our airlines, flights are no more delayed like before, even, Arik Air has improved. Is it because the airline was acquired by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria? It is amazing airlines now keep to time, I cannot believe even Arik Air.”

Another passenger, Uche Osoka,  said: ” Our domestic carriers have improved on their on- time performance. This is good. I hope they sustain it. My worry is continuity. That is where the problem lies. Let us hope for greater things.”

On his part, another passenger, Abdulmini Umar said: “I have witnessed the improved on -time performance of domestic carriers on the Lagos-Abuja route, no more flight delays.”

In his testimony, Raymond Akintayo, said: ‘’It is good some passengers are noticing the phenomenal transformation of airlines, including Arik Air, with flight now right on time. Imagine flying by noon, airplane door locked by 11.45, this is unusual.”

Lawal Oluwatosin said: “These days one cannot afford to be late for Arik Air flight. I learnt the hard way. Imagine Nigerian airlines keeping to time.”

Last week, the NCAA  commended Arik Air for its effective, efficient, safe and secure operations, despite challenges in the operating environment. The authority in a letter dated September 4, 2019 and signed by the Director- General, Captain Muhtar Usman, praised Arik Air for its compliance with the five per cent Ticket Sales Tax/Charter Sales Tax (TSC/CS) as enshrined in the Civil Aviation Act 2006 (As amended).

Other key performances for which NCAA commended Arik Air include timely remittance of five per cent Cargo Sales Charge (CSC) and beneficial working relationship leading to the implementation of the Aviation Revenue Automation Project (ARAP)/Direct Debit Mandate.

The NCAA hopes that Arik Air would continue to honour its financial obligations as and when due, in line with the Federal Government‘s Policy on non-oil revenue.

The authority said it would continue to partner Arik Air to give assistance within the confines of the law for the growth of airline in particular and the industry in general.

Ilegbodu said: “We are pleased with the commendation our airline received from NCAA. We assure our customers and stakeholders of continuous adherence to international safety

“There has been a cordial working relationship between NCAA and Arik Air since the coming of the Receiver Management team in February 2017. The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON)-instituted management has been working hard to reposition the airline

116,623 cases pending in Federal High Courts - Chief Judge John Tsoho

The Acting Chief Judge (CJ) of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho has promised to work towards improved efficiency and workers’ welfare as he revealed that about 116,623 cases are pending in the courts.

Speaking at the beginning of the 2019/2010 new legal year of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice John Tsoho said 16,144 cases were filed this quarter alone out of which 12,692 had been disposed off.

The Chief Judge who hailed court’s judges for their contributions to the promotion of democracy especially the efficient handling of election matters, also promised to ensure the appointment of more judges for the court due to the high volume of pending cases.

Quote:“From the reports received, about 116,623 cases are pending in the Federal High Court; 16,144 cases were filed in this quarter alone in which 12,692 have been disposed off.
“It is obvious that the judges were over-burdened with work in the last legal year. We, therefore, need to engage more judicial officers to help out.
“However, it does appear that there was no provision for appointment of judges in the current budget.
“I will make efforts to discuss with the relevant stakeholders to see to the possibility of facilitating the recruitment of more judicial officers in the course of the year" he said.

We are working to make our economy grow as fast as that of China - Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed

Zainab Ahmed, Nigeria's Minister of Finance, Budget and National planning, says the Buhari-led administration is working hard to ensure that the economy grows as fast as that of China and that of other world powers.

Ahmed made this known on Monday September 16th at a news conference on the forthcoming 25th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja. According to the Minister, the Federal government is working hard to move the country to the top 100 on the ease of doing business ranking as steps have been taken towards making the country investment-friendly and competitive.

Disclosing efforts taken so far to move the economy forward, the Minister said

Quote:“We have established a competitiveness advisory council and special economic zones (SEZs) in the six geo-political zones, as a vehicle for partnering with the private sector. The initiative is in line with the modern trend of providing infrastructure to business clusters to improve and boost economic activities in such zones as found in China and other fast-growing economies. We believe that these initiatives will improve trade balances, investment and create jobs.” she said

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY, 17TH SEPTEMBER.

THE GOSPEL MUST BE PREACHED

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).

In some countries today, the authorities are trying to use the weapons of fear, persecution, and intimidation to suppress and prevent the preaching of the Gospel. But the Gospel can’t be stopped. Jesus said in Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Never be intimidated by any government, group, or individuals who set themselves against the Gospel. They’ll fail, as they’ve always failed. When Saul of Tarsus made havoc of the Church, Jesus knocked him out and said, “…it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 9:5).

There’s no legislation, gang-ups, trumped-up charges and pronouncements against the Church that can stand. Christians need to be more conscious of this, and stand for the Gospel everywhere, preaching it boldly with absolute convictions, even unto death.
Consider the Apostle Paul’s persuasion about Christ and the Gospel in our opening verse; so inspiring!

You can’t be threatened with death when you’re already dead! We’ve been crucified with Christ; nevertheless, we live. Therefore, have no fear of death, because to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
As far as the Gospel is concerned, some of us have come to understand that whether it’s death or life, we win. Thus, we’re unapologetic about the Gospel; we’re ready and able to face anything! We’ve put it all on the line; we’ve counted the cost and come to one conclusion: the Gospel must be preached; no threats can stop us!

Square your shoulders, chin up, chest out, because you’re Christ’s ambassador; the bearer of the news of His saving power. This is your purpose; it’s the reason you’re alive. You’re totally consecrated to God; you’re His property; therefore, nothing and no one can hurt or hinder you from fulfilling your destiny in the Gospel.

Let the passion to spread the Gospel around the world burn in your heart like never before. Remain resolute and declare like the Apostle Paul: “…necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16).

CONFESSION

By words and deeds, through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, the Gospel is being fully preached around the world, and many are being hauled into the Kingdom of God! The spirit of dominion is stirred in God’s children around the world to preach the Gospel fearlessly, and in faith, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#TALKINGSESSION

17TH SEPTEMBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Father, thank You for the power of the Spirit that is fully operational in me for the supernatural. I can do all things through the ability of Christ in me; I am sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency, full of grace and the wisdom of God.

Thank You for Your angels that are working on my behalf, and the authority You’ve given me in Christ over the devil and the cohorts of darkness. Satan has no place in my home, body, finances or anywhere around me.

I thank You for guiding me in the path of life and leading me in the way of supernatural success and permanent prosperity. I make my way prosperous and consistently experience good success as I meditate on the Word and speak it forth with boldness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

Ultra Thin Keto This would include most of your calorie counting diets, Weight Watchers, DASH and the Ornish diet. These diets reduce calories and the amount of fat you take in; which is a very sound plan. But remember, there are only three types of food - proteins, fats and carbohydrates. When you reduce the fat in a diet, you have to raise one or both of the other two types of food. And because raising the amount of protein usually raises the fat level too, most low-fat diets are high in carbohydrates. The Low Carbohydrate Diet. https://top10guider.com/ultra-thin-keto/

41-year-old-woman who gave birth to quadruplets after 15 years of marriage, begs Bauchi Governor for a job to enable her to cater for the babies

41- year- old Mrs Nyarum Luka Bot Balewa who recently was delivered of quadruplets after waiting for 15 years without a child, has cried out to Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed to come to the aid of her family by offering her employment to enable her to cater for the babies.

Mrs Balewa, who is a graduate of College of Health Technology, Ningi, Bauchi State, was delivered of three girls and a boy on July 3, 2019, at Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, Plateau State.

Speaking with Journalists, Mrs Balewa lamented that although the babies have brought so much joy to her and her husband after waiting for 15 years, taking care of them has been difficult.
“To take care of these babies is not easy. My husband is no longer working. He is now retired. We have other children with us who are in school. It is not going to be easy. What I am saying is that if it is possible, I am appealing to the state government to give me employment. I have a Diploma in Environmental health. If it is possible to let them employ me so that I can help my husband”

Her husband, Luka Bot Balewa, who retired as a staff of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi last year, said taking care of the quadruplets since their arrival has been a difficult task to the family.
“It has not been easy. You can imagine that the babies are taking NAN milk. We were buying the smallest one at N2, 500 but of recent we are buying it at N2,150. In a day they consume one tin. It means that in a day apart from the mother’s milk, they consume a tin of NAN milk every day, N2, 150. if you begin to count per day and the mother will eat well. It has not been easy for the mother” said Balewa who claimed that he is yet to receive his benefits.

The father of the quadruplets appealed to the state Governor and other well-meaning Nigerians to come to their aid.
“Let me say that as many as God will touch their hearts to be of assistance to us, they are welcome. God has been so faithful. A lot of people have advised me to meet with the Wife of the Governor, Some advised that I should write but I don’t want this thing to look as if I am begging but truly, I am not finding it easy. Even if it were to be only one child that will be complemented with NAN milk, it is not going to be easy to talk less of four. If only the NAN tin milk will be taken care of, I will thank God. Whatever the government feels that he can do in order to assist in away is welcome”.

“The EAC will have monthly technical sessions as well as scheduled quarterly meetings with the President. The Chairman may, however, request for unscheduled meetings if the need arises”, the statement issued by Adesina added.

The statement listed the following names as members of the newly constituted Council:

1. Prof. Doyin Salami – Chairman

2. Dr. Mohammed Sagagi – Vice-Chairman

3. Prof. Ode Ojowu – Member

4. Dr. Shehu Yahaya – Member

Twitter users went wild last week when Onigbinde's appointment was announced. The reactions stemmed from Onigbinde's long standing attack on the Buhari-led administration. For many years, Onigbinde had spoken against this government and at a certain time, vowed never to have anything to do with them. It came as a huge surprise when he was handed the appointment and he accepted.

Quote:AN UPDATE ON MY RECENT APPOINTMENT
Friends,
Kindly recall that I sent out a note recently on my interest to seek new experiences and that I would be working as a Technical Adviser to the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning for a short period.
It is clear that recent media reports about my appointment have created a complex narrative, which I believe would engender an atmosphere of mistrust, as I planned to proceed.
Upon further reflections on the furore that has been generated by my new role as the Technical Adviser to the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, I humbly resign the appointment.
I am very grateful to the Honourable Minister, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, for believing in my expertise and I also thank everyone who sent his or her congratulations to me in the short period. I have also been humbled by the faith and belief that numerous persons have expressed in me.
My sincere interest is to see a Nigeria that grows and optimises resources for the benefits of all Nigerians.
My loyalty to the good cause of our nation, Nigeria compelled me to accept the call to provide technical skills and this experience has more than strengthened it.
I also want to wish the Nigerian Government, led by President Muhammadu Buhari, well. I will always be of help to the federal government in my capacity as the Director of BudgIT, a critical fiscal transparency group, as I have been to several agencies. I would also work to ensure that BudgIT continues to build civic awareness on the right of every Nigerian to know how public resources are managed.
Thank you all.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Paul Orhii, the former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control narrowly escaped an abduction attempt on him in Benue State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 16th in his Makurdi, Benue State, home. Orhii, who narrated the incident on his Facebook page, stated that it took the efforts of police personnel around to ward off the bandits that sneaked into his home at about 1:00am.

Quote:He said, “early this morning at precisely 1:05 am some four bad boys armed with pistols and machetes sneaked into my Makurdi residence and went straight to the security post in an attempt to disarm my security personnel.
During the ensuing struggle the gallant Police officers started shooting, which caused the intruders to run for their safety, leaving behind two machetes and a pistol cartridge loaded to the max with six bullets and also 3 pairs of foot wears.
Preliminary investigations indicate that one of my security guards may have been involved as their inside man. He and all the items recovered have been handed over to the SARS in Makurdi to assist them in their investigation.
I thank God for protection and also would like to advise that people should thoroughly check the backgrounds of their domestic staff and also watch them, including even some family members very closely for any unusual behavior".

Goods worth millions of naira were lost in the fire.

It was gathered that the building was renovated about four months ago.

The fire, it was gathered, started at about 12 midnight from one of the shops where they sell pure water, take away packs and other provisions as a result of high power voltage.

A source said the fire started from a fridge in one of the shops.

One of the victims, Mrs. Tawa Shittu said her two daughters in-law goods were burnt in the inferno.

“They called me in the midnight that there was fire here but I couldn’t come here till 5am this morning and we met everything burnt to ashes. We were told the fire started from the back of the building.

“I have been selling here for a very long time but recently, they said they needed to renovate the place, I just came to re-open my shop about a month ago.”

Another trader, Risi said she could not salvage anything from her shop.

“We have a chemical seller whose warehouse is also here, there is a rubber shop, wheelbarrow shop and fairly used zincs then there is baby care shop worth millions of naira goods, two shops trade on cooked food, soft drinks, two deep freezers, and assorted drinks, all got burnt.

“The other shop has two deep freezers, one standing giant fridges, pepper soup spices, micro-wave, take-away packs and the money the owner just collected to take to the market including the yearly contribution which she just collected. She could not recover anything. The other one is baby shop running into millions of naira; nothing could be recovered including the generator.”

Popular Nigerian comedians, Okey Bakassi, and Bishop Umeh, popularly known as Okon Lagos, on Sunday threw shades at Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemates remaining in the reality show.
Bakassi in a post on Instagram lamented the eviction of ‘smart and intelligent’ housemates in the reality show.

The comedian criticized the choice of Nigerians in voting for housemates, adding that their decisions showed how Nigerians select their leaders.
According to him, the smart ones are being voted out while the ‘Stupid housemates’ are saved from eviction.
Bakassi said: “The Big Brother eviction show is a reflection of the society, shows that smart, intelligent, stupid, docile human beings can coexist.

“It tells you about politics and how people vote in Nigeria. Most times you think the smart ones, intelligent ones will be the ones to win but they get to leave the reality show while the stupid ones have a way of hanging around for too long even when you don’t like them; that is the reality.
“So at the end of the show, if the stupid one wins, it is you the voters that should be blamed. It tells us about ourselves, our preferences as Nigerians.”
He, however, did not mention the names of the housemates he was referring to.

This is coming few hours after BBNaija housemate, Khafi was evicted.
Okon on the other hand also lamented the choices by Nigerians in the ongoing reality show.
According to him, Nigerian youths from their votes on BBNaija shows that they do not like smart individuals.

BBNaija: Ike To Mercy ‘I Would Have Beaten You Up, If You Were A Boy’

#BBNaija: ‘If you were a Boy, I would have beaten you up’ – Ike tells Mercy as they fight again.

Ike was not happy with Mercy moving his belongings and he told her about it. According to Ike, the way Mercy touches his stuff especially his Coins showed zero respect on her part.

This didn’t sit well with Mercy as she felt Ike insulted her all because she tried to create space for his properties in the locker room.

A frustrated Ike tried to find out if Mercy was transferring aggression on him because he had some bottles of beer earlier on.

In his desperation, he told her that he was drinking because his cigarettes were running out and things weren’t peachy for him. It seemed she was trying to make him reduce his alcohol and smoke intake but he didn’t take it as he felt she was controlling his life which no one dares to.

Switching into gangsta mode, he said to her, “If you were a boy, I would have beaten you up.” In the heat of the moment, Ike threatened to throw the Coins in the garden for everyone to pick up.

This statement didn’t bother Mercy in the least as she requested that they share their Coins so that both parties can manage their financial matters independently.
