Kuni Skin

[/url]These are only two of numerous recently created wonderfull healthy skin fixings to keep your eyes open for. This is required for the recovery of collagen and elastin. They have some comparability, yet there are a few contrasts since men have some skin issues that ladies don't ordinarily need to manage. Strikingly, these contaminants have been found in standard and apparently "regular" chemicals, also.

Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsAfter bringing in several big-name players early in the pre-draft visit process https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Kyle-Murphy-Jersey , the Green Bay Packers appear to be heading back to their old traditions: hosting players who are likely to go undrafted or who are under consideration as late-round draft picks. The latest such player is a receiver who was lightly-used in college, but whose physical tools have him as a possible late pick in next week’s draft. The player is Penn State wide receiver DeAndre Thompkins, a 5-foot-11, 192-pound player who, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, visited the Packers recently. Thompkins’ career production maxed out as a junior in 2017, when he had career highs in receptions (28), yards (443) Justin Vogel Jersey , and touchdowns (3), and for his career he had just 83 catches for 1,245 yards and six scores. However, it is likely his testing that has him squarely on the map for NFL teams. Although he was not invited to the 2019 NFL Combine, Thompkins tore up Penn State’s Pro Day with a blistering time in the 40-yard dash. Draftscout.com reports his numbers as follows:40-yard dash: 4.34 seconds (with 1.53-second 10-yard split)3-cone drill: 7.02 secondsShort shuttle: 4.26 secondsThose numbers put him squarely in the Packers’ sights and traditional receiver thresholds. His size puts him on the smaller side, however, and general manager Brian Gutekunst showed a preference for bigger, taller receivers when he took three of them in the 2018 NFL Draft. However Justin McCray Color Rush Jersey , despite not having impressive offensive production in his career, Thompkins has extensive special teams experience, particularly as a return man. He was Penn State’s primary punt returner for three seasons, and he took two punts to the house in his career. He also averaged an impressive 13.3 yards per punt return as a junior in 2017.On a personal side, Thompkins graduated early in December of 2017, and played his final season as a graduate student. He could well be a candidate for one of the Packers third-day draft picks or as a possible priority free agent signing. This leaves just two more players from the draft class left to sign their contracts." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteAcme Packing Companya Green Bay Packers communityLog In or Sign UpLog InSign UpFanpostsFanshotsSectionsPackersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 322 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football Advicethe draft class left to sign their contracts.CDTShareTweetShareSharePackers sign two more 2019 Draft picks in Rashan Gary and Kingsley KekeChristopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY SportsReporting from media who cover the Green Bay Packers over the past 24 hours indicated that the team had signed four of their eight draft choices as of Friday morning. However, just after 11:00 AM Central Time, the Packers issued a press release confirming the signing of six draft picks. The two who were new names to the list are the team’s first selection https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Marwin-Evans-Jersey , edge rusher Rashan Gary from Michigan, and fifth-round defensive lineman Kingsley Keke. As the 12th overall selection, Gary will receive the biggest contract of any of the Packers’ picks. Overthecap.com estimates his contract to be worth just under $15.9 million over four years with a signing bonus of about $9.57 million. That would bring his salary cap number in 2019 to just under $2.9 million. Meanwhile, Keke gets a much smaller deal as a fifth-round selection. His signing bonus should be just over $300,000, with a cap hit of about $573,000. This leaves the Packers’ two picks from day two of the draft as the only players yet to sign. That pair is offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and tight end Jace Sternberger. Both will be able to participate in this weekend’s rookie minicamp and the start of OTAs on an injury waiver until they sign their rookie deals.

It is now, at least in Colts territory. The Indianapolis Colts selected the cornerback in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and many Colts fans, including myself, were wondering who this guy even is. But let’s face it, Chris Ballard knows what he’s doing. He’s been on the hunt for multi-faceted players that will bring competitiveness and leadership to the field and the locker room. “He was outstanding at the Senior Bowl and he was great all year,” Ballard said of Ya-Sin. “Then you stack on his character, his competitiveness https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Jeremiah-George-Jersey , his will to win, it just fit us. I kept telling our guys, ‘Look, we move and we pass this guy that we love and we don’t get him, we are going to be regretting it.’ So, at the end of the day we end up picking a guy we loved.”Ya-Sin attended Southwest DeKalb High School in Atlanta, Georgia and began his high school career as a wrestler, and a two-time state champion at that. It wasn’t until his junior year that he began playing football. In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ya-Sin explained how his wrestling background helped translate onto the football field. “Just the competitive nature of going out there and going against a guy,” he said. “There are not excuses. You can’t blame it on anybody: win, lose or draw. It’s you versus another man.”Ya-Sin played 11 games at South Carolina’s Presbyterian College as a true freshman with two starts, 15 tackles and two pass breakups. In his sophomore campaign he started 11 games for 31 tackles (two for loss) and nine pass breakups. In 2017 he became a First-Team All Big South player with 45 tackles Denico Autry Jersey , five interceptions and eight pass breakups. Next came a transfer to Temple University in 2018 where he led the team with 47 tackles, 12 pass breakups and two interceptions. He was selected to the First Team All-American Athletic conference in his senior year. Ya-Sin’s college coach, Geoff Collins, has nothing but good things to say about his former player. “He’s tough, tenacious, competitive, relentless, every adjective you could use, is embodied in Rock Ya-Sin,” Collins said. “He’s amazing.” Mike Derice, an area scout for the Colts, recently discussed the scouting process of Ya-Sin on Colts.com.Derice noted that Ya-Sin’s enthusiasm Nyheim Hines Color Rush Jersey , drive and diligence are among the many reasons why the Colts drafted him. When asked how tough it is to play just a year of Division I football and end up as a second round draft pick, Derice said, “That’s a testimony to his hard work. He came in there and felt like he belonged, and he planned on out-working everyone, and he’s gonna try to do the same thing when he gets here.”Ya-Sin has spent the majority of his career playing in man-to-man coverage, but said he feels comfortable in zone as well. He’s able to move his feet quickly, flip his hips and get downfield in a hurry. During the Senior Bowl, scouts were able to see some of the zone techniques he lacked during the 2018 season. “I think you can see the progression of his technique as the season went on,” Derice said. “So you know that he’s feeling better about what he’s being taught and at the Senior Bowl he just put it all together, and it was good to see him learn different techniques and actually apply it.” OTA’s allowed Ya-Sin to showcase his skill-set and coaches were clearly impressed with his toughness. Though Ballard expressed he still has some technique to work on, he’s convinced this pick will pay off in the 2019 season. “I’ll tell you the things he is going to have to work on is his zone coverage because he hasn’t done a lot of it,” Ballard said. “But he’s physical. He’s tough. He’s got ball skills. He’s got instincts. He’s got all the traits we look for. He’s got size and he’s got good speed. So we think he’s got all the makings of being a really good corner in this scheme.” Ya-Sin is the perfect fit with the way the Colts run their defense. I watched a lot of film of his from Temple and one aspect that really stood out was his ability to stick to receivers. His speed benefits his capability to get downfield and find the football and his length aids in being able to get in the air and bat the ball away from receivers. He also shows willingness to tackle in the run and sets a tone of physicality. What I like most about Ya-Sin https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Johnny-Unitas-Jersey , though, is his sheer will to win. He’s expressed that he has and will work harder than anyone else on the field, and is a great competitor. I’m eager to see how he fares against some of the better offenses in the NFL, as he’ll most certainly be a problem for a lot of teams the Colts face this season. Photo by Joe Amon/MediaNews Group/The Denver Post via Getty ImagesJust two weeks remain until the Seattle Seahawks, and the other 31 teams across the NFL, must trim their rosters down to 53 players. As we barrel towards that date with three more preseason games for the Hawks in twelve days and the debate about who will and who will not make the roster, here’s a look at how things have shaken out by position in seasons past. Obviously, this season the biggest positions of debate appear to be at wide receiver and linebacker. At receiver, fans are wondering whether the Hawks will carry five or six wide receivers, when history shows us that under Pete Carroll and John Schneider Seattle has had six or seven wide receivers on the roster (five times) initially more often than they’ve carried five (four times). At linebacker, the team has carried as few as five, and as many as seven, with the position traditionally playing a big role in special teams. In addition to the number of players carried on the initial roster by position, at the bottom of the table I’ve included a row which shows how many players from different position groups have contributed 200 or more special teams snaps. This information is not included for the 2010 or 2011 seasons because of the simple fact that the NFL did not start publishing snap counts until the 2012 season. Initial roster breakdown by position for Seahawks for 2010 through 2018 seasonsPosition201020112012201320142015201620172018Position201020112012201320142015201620172018In any case, the trends seem to show that when there is turnover or a myriad of injuries at a position that the team carries an extra player or two into the next season. For example, in 2011 the team added wide receiver Sidney Rice in free agency and also added rookies Doug Baldwin and Kris Durham after moving on from veterans Brandon Stokley and Deon Butler. Similarly, in 2014, the team carried seven wide receivers initially following Golden Tate’s departure and the uncertainty surrounding one William Percival Harvin III. The seven included three rookies in Paul Richardson, Kevin Norwood and Phil Bates, with Ricardo Lockette as a second year player and special teams monster. In short, look for the team to head into 2019 lighter at running back than last year with Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and Nick Bellore basicallly locking down three spots there. With the offensive line returning four of five starters, carrying more than nine in that group seems unlikely, but if the injury bug continues to keep many of the linemen out as the season approaches, that number could end up higher. In any case Dion Jordan Color Rush Jersey , keep this link handy as the debates about the roster move from a low simmer to a heated boil over the coming weeks. The box score says Russell Wilson had a solid game against the San Francisco 49ers. Completing 23 of 31 passes for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns is nice reading. Indeed, the bigger issue for the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday was the defense. And they were still only a missed PAT away from winning the game in normal time. Yet the 49ers had intelligent gameplans on both side of football. The under pressure Robert Saleh employed various coverage concepts that slowed Wilson’s process and made the signal caller play with a distrust that damaged the passing game. Once a member of Pete Carroll’s training school, the former padawan caused “I HATE YOU” Anakin Skywalker pain to his old Jedi master. The defensive coordinator’s deployment of triple stud variations, Tampa-2, match quarters and two-high cover-3 brought out the quarterback’s weaknesses. Like chocolate’s impact on a greasy adolescent’s skin; it was spotty. Brian Schottenheimer’s adjustments presented openings, but Wilson—slowed earlier—appeared to not trust what he was seeing. Let’s get to the tape.Triple studIn the first encounter with the Seahawks, Saleh was gashed running cover-3 matching concepts like three mable. It was clearly apparent that this is what Wilson wanted to face heading into the second match-up. Saleh denied him that opportunity right from kickoff. In the following example, Schottenheimer faced a 3rd and 7 with 5:39 left in the first quarter. He aligned the offense in a gun trips formation via 11 personnel (1 RB-1 TE-3 WR). Saleh responded with nickel personnel; his two linebackers sugared the a-gaps. The single-high safety look pre-snap would have encouraged Wilson that he was going to face a preferred coverage.Instead, Saleh rotated his other safety high post-snap. San Francisco ran their version of triple stud. We’ve covered this pass coverage from Seattle’s perspective in a previous iteration of Seahawks on tape. I’ve long suspected, after much tape grinding and “my wife left me” moments, that both Seattle and the 49ers don’t have the exact same rules as Nick Saban when it comes to the style of pass defense. This was confirmed to me by Scott Geelan, an expert on San Francisco’s scheme. There are still matching rules, but it’s looser than Saban’s triple stud and “clamp”. For instance, Richard Sherman played more of a “read” assignment on this 3rd and long. This saw him drop into a deep quarter rather than jump on Tyler Lockett’s quick out route—as clamp rules would dictate. Lockett’s pattern into the flats formed part of one Schottenheimer’s favorite concepts from the past few weeks: stick. Doug Baldwin’s stick route was the primary read for Wilson; the 49ers took this away with two defenders. Their slot defender, D.J. Reed—rather than fully clamping—went to a hook at the sticks (an example of San Francisco’s variation) that had him cover Baldwin. Meanwhile, Fred Warner was tasked with matching Baldwin’s route vertically.Seeing Baldwin double covered and the two-high safety spin, Wilson may well have thought the coverage was a cover-2 that had Lockett dealt with too. Still, it was strange to see Wilson not execute the natural read progression; he locked on to Baldwin, never even glancing at Lockett. With Sherman occupied by David Moore’s go route, Lockett had catch-and-run room. Perhaps Wilson decided pre-snap not to test Sherman?Instead, faced with the initially disguised two-high defense, Wilson decided to check the ball down to Chris Carson over the middle. Wilson must have sensed time running out, but a progression to Lockett would have required few additional milliseconds. The decision forced the Seahawks to punt.Tampa-2In truth, the above coverage could be more of a Tampa 2-style defense—shaded towards the trips side. With one second left in the first quarter Tedric Thompson Color Rush Jersey , Saleh called a pass coverage that felt more like a creative Tampa-2 pressure. Seattle’s bad 3rd and 10 situation enabled this.Schottenheimer put the Seahawks in another 11 personnel trips formation—though on this occasion tight end Ed Dickson aligned to the trips side and David Moore was isolated on the backside. As Baldwin shifted into the slot, the 49ers once more showed a single-high safety. Their three down linemen look in the 3-3-5 had four second level players looking ready to tee off in two-point stances. Pre-snap, Wilson likely expected a type of cover-3 blitz.San Francisco was deceitful again though. On the trips side, they sent their big nickel Reed from the slot. Behind this, they played conventional Tampa-2, with Sherman taking his hook to the sticks. Their three linebackers dropped into Tampa-2 style zones. To the isolated Moore, the 49ers pretty much played man-to-man.Nevertheless, Schottenheimer adjusted well for such trickery. Layering off his stick concept, he had Baldwin’s stem look very similar. Rather than run a stick route though, Baldwin ran a crossing route. This was the perfect call to beat the Tampa-2, as it forced linebacker Warner to run with the route over the middle of the field. This was a great one-on-one mismatch for the Seahawks. Dickson picked up the blitzing Reed with little issue. Lockett and Moore occupied the corners on out routes. Baldwin only had to beat Warner. And then Wilson blew it. Maybe it was the twist up front that spooked him (Mike Davis picked this up well). He had plenty of room and time in the pocket to hit Baldwin but was frightened by pass rushers who weren’t close to arriving. As Baldwin came wide open after cutting across the field, Wilson had already decided to run to where the actual pressure came from.Wilson probably felt Elijah Lee was going to keep dropping underneath Baldwin’s route. However, there was no deep safety on that side of the field, given the way San Francisco had matched the pattern. Schottenheimer’s design worked, Wilson just didn’t process it.By running towards the pressure, Wilson shortened his available time considerably and made only one route available. As Wilson vacated the pocket, Sherman sagely flattened the improvisation of Lockett and Wilson threw the ball away. This was another opportunity wasted. Saleh’s disguise befuddled Wilson into a missed 3rd and long. Speed bootleg brainfartThere isn’t much more to be said about this play. The main difference in the game was the 49ers playing assignment sound football on defense, whereas Seattle made numerous mistakes—more on this in the next Seahawks on tape. Wilson overthought this play. All he needed was a yard. San Francisco camped well in the flats and caused dire hesitation for Wilson in throwing to Carson. He didn’t notice the open wheel of Tre Madden downfield after taking too long to dump the ball to the flat—surely this was a simple low-high read of Sherman? Wilson’s hesitation in releasing the ball to the flat led to a near disastrous attempt to a well covered Jaron Brown over the middle of the field. This was a terrible failure to convert on 3rd and 1. Again: the play-design worked. Again: was Wilson scared of Sherman?Cover-3 cloud/quartersThe previous play was a cover 1/3 warped by the short yardage situation and reaction to the bootleg. Throughout the game, Saleh didn’t solely run cover 2/4 coverages. Of course, cover-3 was featured! Saleh just did it less obviously with some aggressive rules. Really, it played out more like quarters. Versions of the Y-Cross concept are what Schottenheimer and Wilson love in the passing game. Nonetheless, through capable linebacker coverage and some forced missed opportunities, the 49ers were able to contain it early. Schottenheimer’s solution was to use play-action to remove the linebackers from getting underneath the crosser.Seattle’s 20 personnel I-formation on 2nd and 12 trailing 17-13 saw Saleh respond with a cover-2 man look. This was—to borrow cockney rhyming slang--another porky-pie from San Francisco’s defensive playcaller. Following the snap, Wilson faked the handoff to Carson. This halted the linebackers from getting depth in their hooks. But the 49ers were playing what matched into a cover-3 cloud zone Ethan Pocic Color Rush Jersey , not cover-2 man. This placed Sherman, Antone Exum and Marcell Harris in deep matching shells. The corner to the single receiver side, Moore, played the “buzz” role (hook-curl, buzz to flat). This initially two-high look slowed Wilson and highlighted how quickly he gives up on a play if his pre-snap indicator doesn’t materialize. Baldwin’s crossing route is open in behind the linebackers, even with Exum matching it aggressively over the top. Wilson, though, seemed to think that he was facing another Tampa-2 and that Warner would drop deep to get underneath Baldwin. The quarterback rapidly checked the ball down to Carson. He had time to process the coverage and hit the open Baldwin.Schottenheimer moving forwardSaleh had a crafty game against the Seahawks, Schottenheimer and Wilson. His positioning of linebackers at the line of scrimmage combined with his disguised coverages made life tricky despite the overall lack of talent on San Francisco’s defense. Moving forward, Schottenheimer’s concepts do still work. He, of course, needs to keep adjusting in-game and adding more layers. But he’s done a solid job of that this season, while maintaining a clear identity that has seen the attack tie in with a head coach’s goals and produce an ultra-efficient quarterback. Finding a way to halt linebackers from getting underneath the favored crossing route is tricky, other than play-action. Wilson’s height limits the threat of shallow crossing routes considerably and, frankly, you’re approaching a different concept when you start talking shallow crossers anyway. Wilson is a top five quarterback who, like any passer, has his flaws. Well disguised coverages will make every signal-caller uncomfortable. Fortunately, Schottenheimer has proved effective at providing numerous pre-snap coverage indicators which lessen defensive camouflage. Wilson’s development behind Mike Solari’s offensive line has been remarkable in both its quickness and its extent. He will still act skittish though, particularly when a third string right guard is playing. Learning to wait on concepts a bit longer still has room for growth, but we must learn to accept that processing a defense after the snap is a weakness of Wilson’s that will see him slowed by intelligent schemers.

The Acting Commissioner for Insurance, Sunday Thomas

The National Insurance Commission (NIACOM) has said the ongoing recapitalisation exercise will enhance the capacity of local insurance companies to retain risk businesses in the country.

The Acting Commissioner for Insurance, Sunday Thomas, who spoke at the industry gathering at Ijebu Ode, said that the commission is committed to ensuring that industry is highly liquid, with solid assets, thereby, increasing its contribution of the sector to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

While believing that insurance sector would be better off post-recapitalisation, he added that the exercise will reduce foreign influence on Nigeria’s risk market.“The whole idea of the recapitalisation exercise is to have an industry that is strong; diligent in prosecution of its assignments; highly liquid in terms of claims settlement, and solid in terms of assets and visible in terms of retaining business within our environment,” he said.

NAICOM, he promised, will continue to do everything to improve the contribution of insurance to growth and development of the nation’s economy. The work ahead maybe more active than could ever be imagined because of the many grounds to be covered, he stressed.

Calling for the support and cooperation of insurance operators, development partners, shareholders and other government regulators to grow insurance sector, he added that the exercise is all about restructuring the balance sheet of the insurance companies so that they can fulfil their obligations to clients.

Stating that the regulatory body will welcome investors either into existing companies or totally new companies, he said, the supreme aim is to have an insurance industry that is able to support the government in its initiatives, creates employment by reason of expansion, and at the end, add value to our economy.

The Guardian reliably gathered that due to low risk retention capacity of local insurers, multinational companies whose risks could not be insured in the local market, had taken the insurance risks worth N16.91 trillion abroad.
However, the nation’s underwriting companies were able to retain N37.69 trillion Sum Insured in the local market. The N16.91 trillion risks ceded abroad means that the capacity of Nigerian insurance industry is restricted due to the fact that some insurers have low capitalisation, hence, could not absorb more risks.

Besides, The Guardian findings revealed that the country has less expertise in some evolving risks, hence, could not underwrite them and had to cede them abroad. While experts called for capital injection from investors, either local or foreign ones to boost the risks retention capacity of local insurers, they also called for technical support of the industry so that operators are able to write some risks that the country is currently ceding abroad.

“I robbed to raise money to bail my gang member from Kirikiri prison”- Suspect tells RRS

25-year-old Sadiq Yinusa, pictured above, has been arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of the Lagos State Police Command, for attempted robbery. When interrogated, Yinusa said he went to rob at a nightclub in the Igbobi area of the state so he can raise money to secure the release of his other gang member who is currently being held at the Kirikiri prison.

Yinusa was arrested at a nightclub in Igbobi while attempting to rob the club supervisor. Armed with a locally made shot gun, 4 live cartridges, a socket wrench, a chisel and a plier, Yinusa attempted to rob the night club supervisor but was apprehended.

When interrogated, Yinusa said

Quote:“Prince Chika, currently serving prison sentence in Kirikiri for robbery, called me last week to help him hassle around for funds to secure his freedom from prison. I have visited him in the prison a week ago and he had called me from prison to appeal for my assistance. He gave me the location of this gun and some of the arms he used.
He has assured me to pay back within the first few weeks of regaining freedom. I retrieved all these arms from the bush where he kept them before heading for the operation. He told me that he bought the gun in Anambra State for a sum of N5000. Yesterday was the first day I would fire a gun during an operation. Everybody had already left the club in Morocco Road, Igbobi when I scaled the fence. I saw the supervisor, and at gunpoint, I requested for his wallet.
I felt he was wasting time, so, I shot him but he dodged it and raised alarm. I was escaping when I ran into a patrol team of RRS men responding to distress noise. I was a pickpocket and a burglar before venturing into robbery. Last week, I broke into three houses in Somolu. From each of the houses, I collected two mobile phones of my victims. I also got three laptops as well as jewelry. I sold them to Adamu Jubril.
Whenever, I collect ATM cards from victims, it is Korede Baki (22) that assist me in doing the withdrawals. I collected the PIN along with the ATM card at gun point.”
Also arrested with the suspect were the receivers; Jubril Adamu and Korede Baki. According to Jubril Adamu, popularly called Ango, a trader in Tejuosho Market, Yaba,

Quote:“I have been buying stolen items from Yinusa for over six months now. I have bought over 15 mobile phones, laptops and jewelry from him. I bought laptops from him at N30,000:00 each.”

We are afraid of speaking out because of the frightening insecurity – Christian council of Nigeria

Archbishop Tunde Adeleye, the chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria in the south-south has revealed that the church is afraid of speaking out against the ills affecting the country because of the insecurity challenge witnessed across the country.

Recalling how his predecessor was kidnapped and how junior pastors in the diocese he heads are attacked, the Archbishop for Anglican Church diocese for Niger Delta told journalists that there is an intimidation of the church and they are nursing the wounds inflicted on her.

Quote:“The too many kidnappings and killings of pastors in Nigeria have become very worrisome. There is frightening insecurity even to the stage that the church has become afraid to speak out anymore. There is intimidation of the church.  A handful is still talking, but the church is nursing the wounds inflicted on her" the Archbishop said.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 16TH SEPTEMBER.

EXUDE JOY AND ESCHEW ANGER

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God (James 1:19- 20).

Many don’t realise how maintaining a joyful heart is key to fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives. Isaiah 12:3 says, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Your faith prevails in an atmosphere of joy, joy that comes from your inner man.

Some allow their desires or failed expectations rob them of their joy. But as a Christian, your joy is independent of circumstances. True joy is in fulfilling your purpose; doing the things the Father asked you to do.

The Word admonishes us in James 5:13: “Is any among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil), let him pray; Is any merry, let him sing Psalms.” In Ephesians 4:26, the Word tells us that we shouldn’t allow our anger, fury or exasperation last for long.

God’s holy anger is only expressed towards those who do evil and works of unrighteousness; and it’s not your job to be angry on His behalf. For example, when Samuel was angry that the children of Israel asked for a king, God said, “Samuel, why are you angry? They didn’t reject you; they rejected me” (Read 1 Samuel 8:6-7). God didn’t permit Samuel to be angry.

Anger defaces your beauty in the spirit. Therefore, eschew anger. Manifest the joy of the Lord always, for the joy of the Lord is your strength; that’s where your glory is. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I’ve put on the new man, which, after God, is created in righteousness and true holiness. I’m full of joy! In me, there’s no bitterness, rage, or anger. I only give vent to the love and righteousness of God, expressing His kindness, meekness, patience and goodness. Hallelujah!

#TALKINGSESSION

16TH SEPTEMBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Loving and gracious Father, thank You for the rich deposit of Your love in my heart by the Holy Spirit! Through Your love in my heart, many are rescued from the deepest depths of sickness, depression, sorrow, pain, and misery, and are translated into their place of health in Christ. Lord, You’ve made me a king and a priest; thus, I am a custodian of divine verities.

I am anointed with divine ability to give life to everything around me! Thank You for making me genuinely concerned about Your children who have strayed from the way. My bowels of compassion are opened to intercede for them.

I pray that Christ be formed in them and that they’d be established, rooted and grounded in Your love, being fully persuaded that in You alone lie their joy and total fulfilment, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

Just keto diet it might be a bitter pill to take for many people but the sooner they take this bitter piece of truth, the sooner they can move on to actually losing weight The sad truth is that there are too many supplement and machine manufacturers who try to con people into thinking that losing weight is as simple as buying a weight loss machine or a bottle of pills. The hard truth is that weight loss takes work-lots of it. People, being people, want to move away from things that are painful or cause discomfort and move to pleasurable things. That's just human nature. Sadly, that's not reality. If you want to lose weight, you have to put in the work. You have to show;up at the gym day after day. You have to watch what you eat. There are no shortcuts. You have to make it to the weight you want pound by pound.>>> https://www.supplementsmegamart.com/just-keto-diet/

6 Nigerians have been arrested by the police in Meghalaya, India on Saturday for allegedly entering into the Asian country illegally through Bangladesh with night bus.

According to reports, the arrest of the Nigerian nationals brings to total number of foreign nationals arrested to nine within a span of two days, reports Sahara Reporters.

The Nigerians are Thomson Nwafama, 29, Chijioke Obiacha, 28, Desmond Uzochkwu, 25, Okoliegbe Henry Onyedika, 33, Okeke Justin, 32, and Chukwunyere Christian, 30.

East Jaiñtia Hill superintendent of police, Vivekanand Singh, said on Saturday that the six Nigerians travelling by night bus from Silchar to Guwahati, were detected and detained for interrogation, the Telegraph India reports.

He said,

“They admitted that they had travelled from Africa to Bangladesh on visas issued by competent authorities but had illegally entered India near Agartala on Friday."

From Agartala, they travelled by car to Silchar, and were assisted by residents of both Bangladesh as well as India, he added.

A case was registered at Lumshnong police station under the Foreigner’s Act.

On Friday, three foreign nationals were detained and arrested in the same district and also booked under the Foreigner’s Act.

The modus operandi adopted by the three — one from Ivory Coast and two from Nigeria — to enter India was the same as the one adopted by the six Nigerians.

Some of the Big Brother Naija ‘Pepper Dem’ housemates were freed tonight as Big Brother cancels all strikes in the house.

Biggie who added a new twist to the Veto Power game of chance from the normal weekly challenge to a week-long challenge, Biggie informed the housemates that the new Veto Power Game of Chance which he called Ultimate Veto Power Challenge has reset the game.

The reset comes in favour of some of the housemates who have already received strikes from Biggie such as Ike who had 2 strikes, Ike with 2, Mercy with 1 and Omashola with 1.

Biggie also informed the housemates that in addition to strikes all warnings have also been cancelled, what this means that the remaining 10 housemates in the house now have a clean slate.
However, Biggie warned the housemates that though the strikes and warnings have been cancelled it can be quickly given to any housemate who disobeys the house rules.

Immediately after the announcement, the 4 housemates who had strikes were all excited as they know this new twist is a great deal for the way they communicate with other housemates in the house.

According to Biggie’s rules, 3 strikes means automatic disqualification, Ike and Tacha were already on 2 strikes which means they are only a strike from disqualification before the reset of the game.

Repentant Bandits Release Additional 30 Kidnapped Victims In Katsina

Repentant bandits in Katsina State have released additional 30 kidnapped victims, following the dialogue initiated by the state government with their leaders.

The victims were presented to Gov. Aminu Masari at the Government House on Sunday in Katsina.

The victims were kidnapped by the bandits from Kankara and Shimfida, both in Jibia Local Government area of the state.

They were thereafter taken to their hideout in Damsadau forest, Zamfara State, where they spent some weeks.

Addressing the victims, Masari said that government would continue to persuade the bandits to release more kidnapped people until all of them were freed.

He directed that the released victims be taken to hospital for medical check up before reuniting them with their respective families.

One of the victims, Zinatu Sani from Kankara, while narrating her ordeal in the hands of the bandits, said that she was kidnapped from her matrimonial home, with two of her children.

She said that the bandits demanded for a N20 million ransom before they could release her and the children.

Sani explained that the ransom was later reduced to N6 million which, she said, her family could still not afford to pay.

She said that the suspected bandits used to give them rice to cook, with only water and salt.

“For 55 days, we slept in an open place without a roof, not minding the rainfall or heat,” she lamented.

Sani expressed appreciation to the governor for securing their release, adding that there were still several other victims in the forest yearning for their release from the bandits.

The returnees were handed over to the Transition Committee Chairmen of Kankara and Jibia local government councils to ensure that they were reunited with their families after medical check up.

The proposed 7.2 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) proposal by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is expected to generate additional N479.7 billion in revenues based on the N1.1 trillion collected in 2018, analysts at Afrinvest West Africa, have said.

They explained that based on the sharing formula, the Federal Government is to receive additional N72 billion (15 per cent), states to receive N239.8 billion (50 per cent) and local governments to get N167.9 billion (35 per cent) upon implementation.

“While the states would receive a significant boost, the increase is unlikely to make a dent on Federal Govern-ment’s fiscal deficit which we estimate at N3.4 trillion in 2019. We believe the Federal Government requires a significant revenue boost, which would come elsewhere. Our analysis shows that removing petrol subsidies and adopting a market reflective exchange rate of N360/$1 for the computation of oil receipts would increase Federal Government’s revenue by N880 billion,” they said.

They added that the new VAT rate will also help government in the payment of the N30,000 per month minimum wage for workers.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) recently approved an increase in the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate to 7.2 per cent from the initial five per cent established since January 1, 1994.

The analysts said the timeline for the implementation of the new rate is unclear, but the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning hinted at 2020. As there are plans for wide consultation and amendment to the existing VAT Act, implementation may take longer than expected.

They said the increase in VAT rate is  not surprising as governments have been keen but civil protests have led to reluctance despite Nigeria’s low VAT rate relative to peer economies.

“Nigeria’s VAT rate at five per cent is the lowest among African peers such as Kenya (16 per cent), South Africa (15 per cent), Egypt (14 per cent) and Ghana (12.5 per cent). Similarly, VAT receipts to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is only 0.9 per cent of GDP compared with three per cent in Ecowas and Commonwealth countries according to PwC. We note that Nigeria’s effective VAT rate is believed to be significantly higher than the current five per cent due to the difficulty in claiming refunds, the high cost of compliance and non-allowable expenses for input VAT purposes,” the report said.

While we align with the age-long call to boost non-oil revenue, we believe the Federal Government has chosen an easy but less impactful route with the proposed increment in VAT. “The increase should be part of a comprehensive fiscal reform package that would seek to boost collection efficiency, rein in recurrent spending, remove subsidies and widen the tax net,” they added.

According to the former minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, Lagos and Abuja account for 55 per cent and 20 per cent of VAT revenues respectively, meaning more pressure on consumers in both cities. We suspect that this is due to the large size of the informal economy which governments have been unable to integrate with the formal economy due to issues such as multiplicity of taxes. In the broader economy, we expect the adjustment to VAT to lead to higher consumer prices and in turn inflation. The attendant weakness to consumer spending would also impact growth negatively.

Investors upbeat as equities rally N316b gains

Investors showed improved appetite for Nigerian equities in the immediate past week as attractive valuations, reduced political risk and improved macroeconomic direction spurred a broad-based bargain-hunting for quoted shares.

Benchmark indices for the Nigerian equities market showed average gain of 2.33 per cent at the weekend, equivalent to net capital gains of N307.7 billion for the week. However, the listing of additional shares by Stanbic IBTC Holdings lifted the total increase in market value of quoted equities to N316 billion at the weekend.

The sustained rally coincided with the Wednesday September 11, 2019’s decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirming the election of President Muhammadu Buhari. Total market value of quoted equities rebounded with net gain of N52 billion on Wednesday, rose further by N141 billion on Thursday and capped the rally with a net gain of N172 billion on Friday.

Many analysts had said investors might have interpreted the decision of the presidential election tribunal as a sign of stability that gives clearer direction of the macroeconomic direction, notwithstanding the discontent in the opposition camp and possible appeal to the Supreme Court.

The rally, the highest in recent weeks, moderated the negative average year-to-date return to -11.62 per cent. On a quarterly basis, average return so far for the third quarter improved, though still negative, to -7.30 per cent. Meanwhile, the benchmark turned positive for August with a month-to-date return of 0.92 per cent.

The All Share Index (ASI)-the common value-based index that tracks share prices at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), rose from its week’s opening index of 27,146.57 points to close weekend at 27,779.00 points. Aggregate market value of all quoted equities also rallied from its opening value of N13.207 trillion for the week to close weekend at N13.523 trillion.

With 39 advancers to 19 decliners, most sectoral indices also closed positive underlining the broad bargain-hunting that drove the overall market performance. The NSE 30 Index, which tracks the 30 most capitalised stocks at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), rose by 2.72 per cent. The NSE Banking Index appreciated by 5.06 per cent. The NSE Consumer Goods Index rallied average gain of 0.57 per cent while the NSE Oil and Gas Index rose by 7.19 per cent. However, the NSE Industrial Goods Index declined by 0.41 per cent while the NSE Insurance Index dropped by 2.13 per cent.

UACN Property Development Company, which is being unbundled by its parent company, UAC of Nigeria, led the rally with a double of its share price by 51.52 per cent to close weekend at N1.50 per share. FBN Holdings followed with a gain of 24.1 per cent to close at N5.40. Seplat Petroleum Development Company placed third with a gain of 15.67 per cent to close at N460. Forte Oil appreciated by 14.1 per cent to close at N16.55. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated rallied by 11.9 per cent to close at N8 while Cornerstone Insurance rose by 11.1 per cent to close at 30 kobo per share.

On the negative side, Thomas Wyatt Nigeria recorded the highest loss of 9.52 per cent to close at 38 kobo. Continental Reinsurance followed with a drop of 7.98 per cent to close at N1.50. Oando dropped by 7.3 per cent to close at N3.80. Livestock Feeds declined by 7.1 per cent to close at 39 kobo while Cutix depreciated by 6.67 per cent to N1.40 per share.

The momentum of activities also improved considerably. Total turnover stood at 1.15 billion shares worth N14.08 billion in 17,980 deals compared with a total of 1.10 billion shares valued at N17.08 billion traded in 15,431 deals in the previous week.

The financial services sector, traditionally the most active, remained atop activities chart with 840.704 million shares valued at N10.765 billion in 11,331 deals, representing 73.30 per cent and 76.45 per cent of the total equity turnover volume and value respectively. The conglomerates sector followed with 111.231 million shares worth N243.124 million in 963 deals while the information and communication technology (ICT) sector occupied a distant third with a turnover of 95.087 million shares worth N605.135 million in 404 deals.

Banking stocks dominated activities’ chart with the trio of Guaranty Trust Bank, Access Bank and FBN Holdings accounting for 484.003 million shares worth N8.306 billion in 4,265 deals, representing 42.20 per cent and 58.99 per cent of the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

Besides equities, a total of  6,540 units of Exchange Traded Products valued at N23,650 were also traded in five deals last week compared with a total of 3,692 units valued at N1.974 million traded in 10 deals two weeks ago.

On the sovereign bond market, a total of 274 units of Federal Government bonds valued at N280,932 were traded in seven deals compared with a total of 47,690 units valued at N51.008 million traded in 15 deals penultimate week.

Beyond Nigeria, investors’ sentiment for quoted equities appeared to improve globally last week with most global markets closing positive. In the United States of America, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S & P 500 Index and NASDAQ Index appreciated by 1.4 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. In United Kingdom, the UK FTSE ASI appreciated by 1.1 per cent. France’s CAC 40 Index rose by 1.0 per cent. Germany’s XETRA DAX Index rallied by 2.2 per cent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index advanced by 2.5 per cent. Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index rose by 3.7 per cent. China’s Shanghai Composite Index appreciated by 1.1 per cent. Russia’s RTS Index rose by 1.6 per cent. India’s BSE Sens Index also rose by 1.1 per cent while Brazil’s Ibovespa Index posted average gain of 1.5 per cent.

Major African markets also showed positive sentiment. South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Index posted a week-on-week gain of 2.8 per cent. Egypt’s EGX 30 Index indicated average gain of 1.2 per cent while Kenya’s NSE 20 Index appreciated by 0.9 per cent. However, Ghana’s GSE Composite Index dipped by 0.2 per cent.

Analysts meanwhile remained cautious about the outlook for the Nigerian equities market, although improved macroeconomic direction is expected to impact the market positively.

“Our view continues to favour cautious trading owing to the fact the gains recorded this week were not broad-based. Nonetheless, we note that valuations remain attractive while price deterioration has resulted in expected dividend yields on some stocks rising significantly to levels on par with yields on Treasury bills. Hence, we advise that long-term investors consider appropriately timed investments,” Cordros Securities stated.

Most analysts believed the delivery of the presidential election judgement would spur government activities in the period ahead and provide additional impetus for market performance.

Managing Director, APT Securities & Funds Limited, Mallam Kasimu Garba Kurfi, said the decision of the presidential election tribunal would provide a clearer direction for the market.

“We are expecting positive response, especially in view of the early presentation of the underlying assets for the 2020 national budget,” Kurfi said.

■ Gets ready to kill own father to break through

■ Community spits fire

Quote:Magnus Eze, Enugu

The entire Umuka community in Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has been in mourning mood since August 19, this year, when news broke out that a man, Eric Ifeanyi Okoro, aged 28, hashacked his aunt, a hunched primary school teacher, Benisa Okoro, to death in her sleep.

Benisa’s absence would be felt more as schools reopen this week, by pupils of the community primary school in the area, where she was said to have been a kind of mother to all the children with her uncommon love and care to them.

The slain lady said to be about 52 years old had returned from a church programme tagged: ‘Night of Cry’ service, on August 18, but met her nephew, Ifeanyi absent at home. She was said to have quickly prepared dinner for the young man before going to bed for a night rest.

While she slept off, Ifeanyi, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boy’, returned home in the wee hours, ate the food kept for him by his victim and took his jack-knife and stabbed her severally on the chest till she died in the pool of her blood.

According to a reliable family source, the suspect allegedly phoned his father, Mr Alfred Ogbonnaya Okoro in Owo, Ondo State and reportedly informed him that he had snuffed life out of “Auntie Benisa, and it remains one person for me to hit the gold, get rich quick and become self-actualized”.

The father in his disbelief ignored the information and went about his normal business the following day, being Sunday. “He had thought that his son might have made the phone call under the influence of alcohol or hard drug”, the family source said.

But the lid was blown off when the next morning, ‘Yahoo Boy’ as he is fondly called, went to the Okposi General Hospital morgue and called an ambulance van to carry the corpse of his aunt who died in his own hands to the mortuary. On arrival with the ambulance at his father’s compound, the van driver, Mr Ogbonnaya Okoro Ogudu had reportedly shuddered on seeing the corpse enmeshed in thick clot of blood and declined to convey Benisa’s body to the mortuary.

He instead pondered in bewilderment; asking the young man: “Who did this to your Auntie Eric? What happened to her? He then shouted on top of his voice alerting the entire neighbourhood who then rushed to the scene.

The first callers at the scene were jolted by the horrible sight, and spontaneously, they made distress call to leaders of the community who were in in a meeting at the community playground that fateful morning. Immediately, the community leaders adjourned their meeting and rushed to the home of Alfred Ogbonnaya Okoro to have first-hand information of the distress call.

Chairman, Umuka Community Development Union (UCDU), Mr Sunday Okorie Agwu, said that Eric did not deny being responsible, as according to him, he confessed and boasted that he had marked his father as his next target.

There and then, the community made calls and handed him over to the Divisional Police Headquarters at Obiozara; from where he was later transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Abakaliki.

“We, the chieftains of Umuka community have reached a decisive conclusion that should the police fail in their duty of bringing the self-confessed murderer to book, Eric can never return to this community to live and co-exist with us; the Umuka Ogwumaeze people any longer.

He had been a security risk to the lives and peaceful coexistence of the people of this community since he reportedly attacked his father and attempted to kill him in Owo, Ondo State,” the community leader said.

Agwu who is also the head teacher of Umuka Community Primary School, Okposi, where Benisa was teaching before her gruesome murder described the victim as a kind teacher whom the school pupils were always very fond of before her untimely death.

“By the time the school is reopened to studies, her pupils will certainly miss her kind gestures and endeared patience at imparting knowledge and lessons to the children”, he added.

The community head, Chief Job Onuoha also bemoaned the gruesome stabbing to death of the teacher as terrifying, saying “the community has done what I think we should do in this regard; the murder of an innocent hard working disabled teacher by her own nephew leaves much than the mouth can say. Such barbaric act is unheard of in Okposi land, and we can’t fold our hands and watch him till he kills another person.

“We are bound to provide the police all necessary assistance to prosecute the suspect to serve as a deterrent measure to other bad eggs in Umuka community”.

Also, President, Umuka Youth Association (UYA), Nwanneka Ngada Okorie who spoke in Abakaliki, condemned the ugly incident and described the suspect as having “been consumed by his inordinate ambition to always have things done in his own way irrespective of whosoever his actions might affect”.

Okorie said: “Ifeanyi is a ‘Yahoo boy’, his father would have been his first victim, when he wanted to kill him the previous year and that was why he was brought home February last year to live with his very lovely and caring aunt; Benisa, whom he has stabbed to death. This is what you get with always wanting things come easy without working for it”.

He lamented that the community would have loved the immediate release of the corpse for burial, but wondered whether there was really need for autopsy since the suspect had confessed to the heinous crime.

“All our effort has been for the police to permit us to inter the remains of our sister, Benisa. You know, apart from my being the president of the youth in Umuka, I’m also part of the larger bereaved family, Benisa was a good loving sister who shouldn’t have been made to die in this wicked manner”, the youth leader said.

An indigene of the area told Sunday Sun that they were bewildered that while the community and the kindred family were raising funds to handle the calamity that befell them; Mr Alfred Okoro was making frantic effort to free his only son who killed his only sister, from police detention.

“Imaging Alfred was callous to inform us in the family that since he returned home resulting from the killing of Benisa, that he has been giving the sum of N2, 500 daily to his son to enable him bribe the police on duty at the SCID headquarters for him to be allowed to sleep behind the counter; instead of joining common criminals in the cell. We have seen that he is much concerned about bribing the police for his son to be released and freed from prosecution, than the death of his only sister”, the source said.

Several attempts for the father of the suspect to speak to our correspondent both at Abakaliki and Umuka, his village, were practically evaded.

In one of such occasions, he said via telephone: “You know, I’m not alone, and I am not also the only owner of Ifeanyi even though I am his father. Whom he was alleged to have killed was my only surviving sister who had been living with him since last year that I brought him home. I will call you immediately I am through with the family on the matter”.

Police Public Relations Officer of Ebonyi State command; Loveth Odah, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who confirmed the incident said that the matter was being investigated and that the suspect will soon be charged to court.

Meanwhile, condemnations have trailed the gruesome murder of the soft-spoken physically challenged teacher.

Leader of the association of physically challenged persons in the area, Munonye Ogudu described the incident as barbaric, noting that this has further exposed the nature of violence that physically challenged persons faced in the country.

Similarly, Eziokposi High School Old Students Association (EHSOSA), Abakaliki Chapter, where Benisa was a member of the 1988 set, condemned the killing in its entirety.

A statement by Chairman of EHSOSA, Reuben Okorie, mourned the death of their member whom he said despite her physical challenge did not want to be a burden to her parents; hence, she struggled and carved a niche for herself through furthering her education, which gained her employment as a primary school teacher.

“It’s man’s inhumanity to man that Ms Benisa should be murdered for any reason whatsoever. We use this medium to implore relevant security agencies to investigate this heinous act, so that those found culpable will face the full weight of the law to serve as a deterrent to others, who may think of committing such atrocity,” the old students stated.

24-year-old Dayo Maker, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command, for allegedly conspiring with one Kazeem Bello to gang rape and impregnate a 13-year-old girl.

A statement from the Lagos state police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, says the suspects committed the dastard act in November 2018 in the Bariga area of the state. The victim became pregnant and welcomed a baby girl about five weeks ago.

Dayo was arrested when he attempted to rape the victim's sister. He had previously threatened to kill the victim and her younger sister and asked them not to report him to anyone.  The survivor summoned courage to narrate her ordeal to her family, prompting them to report the matter at the Bariga police station and Dayo was immediately arrested.

The police say investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to apprehend the second suspect who is currently at large.

Police Swoop On Afrika Shrine, Arrest 28 Suspected Drug Sellers (photo)

Policemen attached to the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences have arrested 28 suspected miscreants and 15 illegal street traders at various locations around Afrika Shrine, Alausa, Ikeja.

Chairman of the taskforce, Olayinka Egbeyemi, disclosed this in a statement by the agency’s head of public affairs, Adebayo Taofiq, on Sunday.

Mr Egbeyemi said the raid was due to the nefarious acts within the vicinity of the Afrika Shrine which presented negative image to tourists and residents of Lagos.

“Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, over the weekend, raided all streets within Central Business District including surroundings of the ‘African Shrine’, Alausa, Ikeja.

“The enforcement operations became imperative following complaints from members of the public about the criminal activities of miscreants and environmental nuisance of illegal street traders around the Shrine,” he said.

According to the chairman, the night operation was carried out around spots where drugs like Tramadol, Codeine, Skunk, marijuana, Illegal liquor and assorted food are sold, Igbere TV reports.

“These consumable and non-consumable items are freely sold on the streets in defiance of security agencies and government authority,” he said.

Egbeyemi maintained that the enforcement operations would be a continuous exercise in line with the vision of the present administration to rid the state of street urchins and criminals.

“The Lagos State Government has vowed to sustain the security onslaught on all areas identified as criminal hideouts and hard drug outlets across the state, especially within the metropolis,” he said.

One of those arrested, Tunde Babalola, who was allegedly caught with a bag of substance suspected to be Indian hemp, was said to have confessed he had been selling hard drugs for eight years.

Mr Babalola reportedly said he makes an average profit between N60,000 and N100,000 weekly from customers around Obalende, Akala, Mushin, Bariga and Ikeja.

Another trader, Abike Adeyemi, said that she pays N1,900 every week to a representative of Ikeja Local Government from the sale of addictive substances around the shrine.

Egbeyemi said that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu, has directed that all those arrested be immediately prosecuted.

Xenophobia: President Cyril Ramaphosa dispatches special envoys to African countries after being booed at Mugabe's burial

A special envoy made up of three officials have been dispatched by President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa to some seven African countries after he was booed at former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's funeral in Harare on Saturday September 14.

The special envoy made up of former minister Jeff Radebe, Ambassador Kingsley Mmabolo and Khulu Mbatha, a veteran leader of the ruling African National Congress will be visiting Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia to deliver a message of solidarity and also brief each country's government on steps South Africa is taking to end the xenophobic attacks.

Quote:“The special envoys will brief governments in the identified African countries about the steps that the South African government is taking to bring a stop to the attacks and to hold the perpetrators to account,” the statement from South Africa's presidency read.

Recall that the South African President was booed as he addressed mourners at Robert Mugabe’s state funeral service at the National Sports Stadium in Zimbabwe's capital Harare. He apologised on behalf of South Africans but was told by angry Zimbabweans that an apology is not enough. Zimbabweans told him that they want his government to arrest those behind the attack and ensure the protection of their foreign nationals.

AND HE KILLED FOR VANITY..

People know him as a hardworking welder. He fabricates doors, windows and gates for the public.

People were oblivious of the fact that he is a monstrous vermin hiding in sheep garb.

The man people know as a legitimate hustler lured an innocent Okada rider who was out for his daily bread into his uncompleted building and did the unthinkable. He  butchered the poor Okada rider, decapitated his head, private part, ripping out his intestines and buried the remains in a shallow hole.

The vigilant neighbors noticed the man's suspicious movement, inquired with questions, lo and behold they unearth the heinous crime against humanity.

Other Okada riders got wind of the terrible news and mobilized to the scene to pass judgment on the devilish culprit.Fortunately for them, the police had already taken him into custody.

The anger was unleashed on his butchery uncompleted building and his camouflage business spot, bringing everything down and took to the streets to protest.

This gory incident took place in Minna, Niger  State.

Drama As Priest Fails To Unite Oshiomhol

The moves to resolve the altercation between the major players in the Edo state APC has fallen flat.

Obaseki and Oshiomhole

According to a reprt by Punch Metro, there was drama on Saturday as the three major players  in the crisis  in  the ruling All Progressive Congress in Edo State,  Governor Godwin Obaseki, Adams Oshiomhole and   House of Assembly Speaker, Francis Okiye, met  at the venue for the thanksgiving service   for the 90th birthday of   the Iyase of Benin, Chief Sam Igbe, in Benin.

In his sermon at Our Saviour Anglican Church, the officiating priest, Friday Imaekhai, called for peace in the state and invited the trio to embrace peace.

Imaekhai invited them to the altar and joined their hands together,  saying the people of Edo were looking up to them.

But as soon as the church service ended, Obaseki and  Oshiomhole went their separate ways.

At the venue for the reception, while Obaseki took his seat beside the ex-Commissioner of Police Igbe, Oshiomhole, who is the governor’s immediate predecessor and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,  however, stole the show as he walked in with people at the venue shouting his name excitedly.

At the end of the programme, Oshiomhole refused to answer questions from reporters who besieged him like he did after the thanksgiving service earlier in the day.

Rather than attending to the reporters,  the ex-Nigeria Labour Congress leader rushed to his waiting car, with security officials shielding him from admirers who sang his praises.

Hopes for a peaceful resolution of the crisis was dashed by a recent interview by Oshiomhole accusing Obaseki of making a  bad situation worse by firing his only nominee in his cabinet.

Addressing reporters after the thanksgiving service, Obaseki described the Iyase as an icon of the Benin culture, history and people.

He said, “We celebrate him at 90, we wish him good health and pray to God Almighty to continue to protect him and take care of him.”

Oshiomhole described  Igbe as a man of immense discipline and patience.

The ex-governor said, “He is a man of clean heart and truly believes in the development of his community and that explains why he is the Iyase of Benin Kingdom.

“Everybody prays to reach age 90. From the bottom of my heart, I celebrate with him and his family.”

Among other dignitaries at the thanksgiving service were the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion; former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase; ex-Edo State Deputy Governor,  Mike Ogiadomeh; and the  Iyalode of Lagos, Chief Bintu-Fatima Tinubu.

Oshiomhole: Obaseki Will Need Miracle To Win Under A Fragmented APC
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 09-15-2019, 01:06 PM - No Replies

Quote:APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). In this interview with journalists, the former labour leader opens up on the real issues between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and the way out of the challenges in the state chapter of the party. Have you resolved your differences with Governor Obaseki?

This has been an issue I tried to avoid when I watched you talking about Oshiomhole’s faction and Godwin’s faction. The truth is that I don’t have any faction. Everybody in Edo State, particularly those of APC stock, are my people. We founded the party from ACN to APC. It hurts when people can’t make a distinction between policy positions and unhealthy debate about options in dealing with specific issues.

Let me start with the issue of the inauguration of the Edo State House of Assembly. I was governor when PDP had 16 members, and ACN then, had eight members, but we had to learn how to live with the reality that the parliament is in the hands of the opposition, so all we needed to do was to cultivate ways and means of playing up what united us as a people and getting the opposition to recognise that we were all elected; even from different political parties, but for a purpose; the sustainable development of Edo State. And we managed that until the people favoured us with majority.

Right now in Edo, we are obviously far more fortunate that all the 24 members of the house are all APC. So, no matter if there are differences about a preferred speaker, I don’t think this was enough for us to breach all the rules, regulations, customs and traditions that are well entrenched as regards to the simple straight forward matter of proclaiming a House of Assembly. When I see Nigerians taking sides on it, I just pity people who can’t make a difference between your personal affection or love for someone and dealing with issues of principles and law. Now, I remain convinced that it is not in the interest of our democracy for nine members at 09:30pm, which I understand the Supreme Court in another judgment has described as nocturnal hours, for an elected parliament to seek to secretly inaugurate a house so that a particular person can emerge as speaker, and in the process, you exclude 15 members of the house.

Nine persons cannot elect the speaker or deputy speaker on behalf of 24 members. Number two, it is also the tradition and the law that when you are elected by your various constituencies, the day of your inauguration, the proclamation is not a state secret to be shared by those who are favoured. The proclamation must be published; stating time and date. If there is any Nigerian who has followed inauguration in the 36 states and the FCT, particularly the last federal one, it is settled that the fact of proclamation letter must be communicated by the clerk to all the members-elect so that they can go there that day with their families and loved ones. Now, to try and do that at 09:30pm, even if it was done by my biological son, God will give me the courage to tell my son that this institution is governed by law.

Parliament is an autonomous arm of government, delete it and there will be no democracy. So I found it strange that because we pointed out what I thought would be obvious to every Nigerian, that first, some of the members of the nine out of 24 who are already in the minority, four of them on take, have said they were invited for an informal conversation with the deputy governor, then they were bundled into a waiting vehicle and driven to the House of Assembly. And they were forced to take oath of office against their wish. One of them was wearing shorts where he went to buy suya. These are facts, the people have spoken and they are still alive, they are still protesting. Then somebody says that because I am the national chairman of the party, I ought to turn the other way. If it is wrong in Bauchi, for them to do secret inauguration, how can it be accommodated in Edo State? For me, these are the issues. And it is much shameful that in this case, all 24 are APC members.

As a former governor who had the privilege of presiding over Edo State for eight years, I will tell you that there is little or nothing a government can do in the final analysis. I was there at the Government House, Benin, not too far away from Anthony Enahoro’s building where the parliament seats, and I heard that the parliament met and decided to change its leadership. And there is nothing I can do about it; it is their privilege thing to do. So, I did not really know what the issues were. So, that is not between me and the governor, anybody suggesting that it is between me and the governor is just being mischievous. It is about what is right and what is wrong. But we thought the issues were resolved when the governor visited you in the village during Sallah? The governor has slept in my house countless times before he became governor, and even after he became a governor.

He is my friend, he is my brother. But I am surprised that Nigerians don’t appreciate the fact that even as brothers, if I feel strongly that what my younger brother is doing is wrong, I should advise him quietly, and when I do, it becomes factional war, that impression is wrong. Secondly, the governor knows that there is no quarrel between us, because what could have caused us to quarrel, I consciously made decision from day one to avoid it. Namely, I was never going to decide for him who he pays and I was never going to suggest to him who he appoints. But is the governor on common grounds with you now? That is the issue; the last time we had a meeting with Governors Bagudu, Fayemi, El-Rufai and Niyi Adebayo, we all agreed that, given the division in Edo APC now, the way to go is to have an all-inclusive meeting. We need to meet in a room and resolve our differences and come out for people to know that APC is one; you cannot solve problem without talking.

The governors encouraged him to meet with me so we can arrange the meeting. In fact, the governors offered to accompany us to Edo State to hold meeting with all the groups so that we iron out our differences. Unfortunately, as we speak, the governor has refused to convene that meeting. We have to work now on how to get such a meeting on because there is no way to solve such a problem without reaching out to the aggrieved parties. Let me assure you that this governor is not under threat, it is those who are making money from the crisis, those I call merchants of confusion, they are only relevant when there is a fight. They are the ones that will tell the governor they want to impeach you.

But the governor should ask himself what he has done to deserve impeachment. But will you support him for a second term? Have we gotten there? Let us get there first. As it stands right now, has he told you, he is contesting? And has he told you I am opposed to him? He is allegedly being told he is going to be given the Ambode treatment? Who told him that? What will I gain if Godwin does not run a second term, is Oshiomhole going to run a second term? If I did what I did, whether he acknowledged it or not, but people know what I did to support him to be, what comfort will I have if he is terminated half way? What is Ambode treatment? But let me tell you, Ambode treatment is not the worst treatment we have seen in the APC.

What about M. Abubakar’s treatment in Bauchi. He won his primary, as a sitting governor, he lost the election. What about Adamawa State? Because of internal fighting the sitting governor lost. Although we are hopeful in both cases that the court will give us victory because we think we won the elections. So, the point to me is that tickets are not the issue in politics. I think the real issue in Edo State is what anyone that loves the governor (Obaseki) should do what we tried to do, what those governors tried to do by reminding him that a divided house cannot stand. And the house remains divided if we do not make conscious effort to bring everybody together. So, what I am doing is to encourage him and all our leaders to have an all-inclusive meeting of all APC leaders. Lock the door, speak truth to ourselves. What is simply happening is that there are people who think that their access to bread and butter will end if there is peace and so they encourage the governor wrongly.

I have had meetings before where I urged the governor to carry people along. Whether you like it or not, if there is one business where one tree cannot make a forest, it is politics. But do you think you will support him again as you did the first time? If we have this meeting of all the various tendencies within the APC and remind ourselves of what unites us, rather than what divides us working together wholeheartedly, everybody being given a sense of belonging, there is no reason why we cannot continue to defeat PDP and there is no reason why Obaseki cannot win election. But let me say, ev

The operation took place in the early hours of Saturday, September 14.

The toilet titled 'America' which was created in 2016 by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan only went on display two days ago during an exhibition.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed the toilet was stolen and a 66-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft and remains in police custody.

Dominic Hare, chief executive officer of Blenheim Palace, told the BBC the toilet is valued at about six million dollars and was a 'very precious piece'.

He said the theft of the solid gold toilet 'was a huge shock'.

'Staff were instantly aware of what happened and police arrived very, very quickly indeed,' he added.

When asked if the artist had been contacted, he said: 'There were some slightly nervous calls at 6am but we have spoken to the artist and Lord Edward at the art foundation, and many of the trustees and they have been magnificent in their support.'

Mr. Hare added: 'We have a sophisticated security set-up here and we have had no loss of this kind in living memory, which probably reflects the quality of that operation.

'The events of the last 24 hours mean we may have reason to reconsider some of our systems.'

He was also asked whether a party, which took place at the palace on Friday night, could have created an opportunity for the theft.

In response, he said: 'We have been asked not to comment on the investigation. But there was a clear time separation between those things.

'There is always a risk when you display valuable art to the public, but it is worth that risk, even now, it was still worth that risk.'

Confirming that the palace would reopen on Sunday following repair works, Mr. Hare explained: 'We've now got a huge hole where there was once a golden toilet.'

Detective Inspector Jess Milne said: 'The piece of art that has been stolen is a high-value toilet made out of gold that was on display at the palace.'

Inspector Richard Nicholls added: 'We are aware they left about 4.50am this morning. CCTV is one of the aspects we are looking on and that will come out in due course.'

When asked if he believed a reception party held on the same night of the exhibition's launch could be connected, Insp Nicholls said: 'I am not aware of the reception party personally, but that would form part of our inquiries in order to ascertain events leading up to the item being stolen.'

Thames Valley Police also disclosed that the offenders broke into the palace overnight and left the scene at about 4.50am.

Detective Inspector Jess Milne said: 'Due to the toilet being plumbed into the building, this has caused significant damage and flooding.'

Detective Inspector Milne added: 'We believe group offenders used at least two vehicles during the offense.

'The artwork has not been recovered at this time but we are conducting a thorough investigation to find it and bring those responsible to justice.

She continued: 'Residents will see an increased police presence in the area while officers and staff carry out inquiries.'

'I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to contact police.

'You can call us on 101, quoting URN 273 (14/9), visit our website or visit a police station.'

Court orders Okorocha not to sell 'Forfeited properties' until EFCC concludes investigation

Justice J.K Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has ordered former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and his family not to sell or alienate any of the properties that were subject of an interim order of the court pending the conclusion of investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The court gave the Consequential Order while vacating the July 25, 2019 Interim Order, forfeiting five properties owned by Okorocha and his family to the Federal Government. The properties are: Rochas Foundation College, Owerri, All in 1 Shopping Mall, East High Academy, East High College and Royal Spring Palm Hotel & Apartments.

The Registered Trustees of Rochas Foundation College, All-in Limited, Royal Spring Palm Apartments Limited, Registered Trustees of Women of Divine Destiny Initiative and Uluoma Okorocha Nwosu had challenged the order on August 8, through 5 separate motion on notice praying the Court to vacate the interim forfeiture order.

The Commission in response filed Counter Affidavits to the motions of the Applicants on 19 August, 2019.

On 21 August, 2019 when the case came up for hearing, the Applicants’ informed the court that they were served with the Commission’s Counter Affidavits and asked for an adjournment which was granted by court.

When the case came up on September 9, 2019 for hearing of the Motions, the Applicants filed Further Affidavits and in reply to these Further Affidavits, the Commission file Counter Affidavits to the Applicants’ Further Affidavit and served them same day.

However, Okorocha's counsel Okey Amechi, SAN informed Justice Omotosho that they were just served and the court adjourned the case to Wednesday, September 11, 2019 for hearing.

After the Court sitting, the Okorochas served the Commission with 2nd Further Affidavit at precisely 11:21 am.

On Thursday, September12th, Counsel to the Commission informed the Court that the Okorochas had served him with their 2ndFurther Affidavits and that he would need time to respond. The Court gave the Commission till Friday, September,13, 2019 to file its Counter Affidavits, failing which it will make a consequential order. This was after counsel to the applicants had drawn the attention of the court to the nature of the properties, one of which is a school which was scheduled to resume in September.

On Friday, September 13, 2019 when the matter came up, Counsel to the Commission informed the Court that he is yet to file its Counter Affidavits and the Court issued the consequential order vis-à-vis the nature of the properties involved.

The Commission is studying the consequential order of court.

Pro Vita Keto Now I didn't move overboard with the carbs, however I without a doubt multiplied them and noticed a massive difference. So my frame glaringly wished more carbs than the 30 - forty grams a day i was giving it. some other aspect I observed is that once I ate greater fat (from the low carb eating regimen), I felt without a doubt worn-out. so that told me that my body wasn't so proper at digesting fats - whereas a person else might be first-rate with that stage of fats of their weight-reduction plan and now not sense tired. So the bottom line is that you need to find out what works for your frame. i might advocate you try both varieties of diets for at least every week if not a month - and notice what happens. Your frame will provide you with comments on what it likes and what it does not like. https://top10guider.com/pro-vita-keto/

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SUNDAY, 15TH SEPTEMBER.

LET THE WORD CONTROL YOUR VALUES

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).

When the Bible talks about the carnal mind, it doesn’t mean a sinful mind per se, even though the carnal mind is prone to sin. A carnal mind means a mind that’s ordinary; of mere human understanding; just normal human life.

The person who’s carnally-minded, even though he’s born again, reasons and acts like the natural man. He lives according to the senses. He’s more attuned to, and concerned about the things of the flesh. The Word and the spiritual realities of the Kingdom hardly get his attention.

Now, the Bible tells us that to live that way is enmity against God (Romans 8:7); meaning that the carnal Christian walks at cross-purposes with God. He’s not ruled by or subject to the Word of God; a state that leads to death—separation from everything gracious and divine! Why in the world should anyone live at such a base level?

Be Spirit-ruled and Word-governed. Refuse to be stirred by and attracted to fleshly things. The Bible says, “…they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh…” (Romans 8:5). What are the things that stir you up? Remember, where a man’s treasure is, there will his heart be also.

You’re after the Spirit if your affection time and energies are focused on things pertaining to Christ, His Gospel, and the eternal life that He’s given us. So, let the Word of God control your values, ideas, opinions, choices and decisions.

CONFESSION

I’m not moved by what I feel, see or perceive through the senses! I’m born again and full of the Holy Ghost, with the very life of Christ in me. Therefore, I’m not ordinary! My mind and affections are set on the Lord and things pertaining to Christ, His Gospel, and eternal Kingdom. Blessed be God!

#TALKINGSESSION

15TH SEPTEMBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Lord, You’re my God! Early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my spirit longs for Your Word as the deer pants for the water brooks. I delight in Your Word and yield to it for exhortation, doctrine, and counsel; in it, I’ve found life, peace, righteousness, and everlasting joy.

Thank You for the privilege of being seated with You in the realms of power and glory, far above all principality, power, might and every domain of darkness! I reign with You today over the circumstances of life and every negative force of nature, declaring that Your perfect and eternal will is fulfilled in my life – in my job, family, finances and in the lives of those in my world and the regions beyond. I thank You for the ministry of Your Word in my life.

The Word is like a burning fire shut up in my bones. I can’t hold it back; I’ll promote and publish it everywhere with fervency until it engulfs my world. I am a burning and a shining light and many are coming to bask in the brightness of my light, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

As part of commitment to tackling the issue of underdevelopment bedevilling the Northern region, Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Platueau State, Simon Lalong has commissioned N793 Mall in Kaduna.

The mall was built by northern conglomerate, the New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC).

He, however, commended the Board and Management of the company for the initiative.

₦5.5b Budget To Buy Cars For Senate Officers Will Equip NPF With 36 Helicopters

Did you know that the ₦5.5 billion Senate budget for the purchase of brand new luxury cars for its principal officers will equip the Nigerian Police Force with 36 Robinson R-44 Raven II helicopters, at ₦153.6 million ( $425,000) each?

Yes 36! And that means each state can get one each to fight the current spate of insecurity, kidnapping, insurgency, banditry, and other forms of crimes, that is currently crippling the country.

And to even solve the problems of unavailability of cars to go to crimes scenes, the ₦5.5 billion can also equip the NPF with 197 Innoson IVM G80 SUV that starts at ₦27,825,000 or 595 Carrier 4×2 that cost ₦9,400,000.

Despite the lawsuit filed by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), BudgIT, Enough is Enough (EiE) and 6,721 concerned Nigerians, seeking to stop the release of the funds, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, said their efforts is bound to fail.

He told reporters in Abuja that :

Quote:“It (suit) is an exercise in futility, a complete exercise in futility"

“Directors of agencies, even minor officials in agencies use official cars. So why will the National Assembly be different? Why should it be a problem that the National Assembly is entitled to cars, to use official cars?

“Some of the vehicles they bought four years ago were no longer serviceable while others have probably been sold to their users,”

The civil society group’s spokesman, Kola Oludare, while speaking with CNN, said:

Quote:“They can have official cars but why would they spend such an amount buying cars for 109 Senators when more than half of Nigerians are living in abject poverty”

A 2013 study by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) revealed that Nigerian lawmakers pocket the highest salaries in the world.

Oyo State police command have arrested 20-year old Gbolahan Ismaila for allegedly raping and killing 35-year old Toyin Olubowale.

Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, said Gbolahan killed the victim with a wooden stool after having sex with her forcibly.

Quote:“On 29th August, 2019 about 1400hrs, one Gbolahan Ismaila, age 20yrs boarded a commercial motorcycle ridden by one Joel Musa to No. 15 road 3 Ogidi Estate Ibadan. He alighted and entered the house of one Toyin Olubowale whom he sexually assaulted and subsequently smashed her head with a wooden stool which led to her death before he made away with her A32F Itel Android cell phone.
When the commercial motorcyclist returned him to Oju-Irin, Akobo Area of Ibadan, he noticed a wound and blood stains on one of Gbolahan’s fingers on the right hand and he became suspicious due to unusual sound he heard from the house while he was outside.
Hence, he went back to the house and met people crying over the death of the deceased. He thereafter informed the people that he knew the suspect who killed the deceased and that he brought him to the house earlier in the day. Hence, Joel Musa was promptly arrested and handed over to the police.” he said

When interrogated, Gbolahan confessed to the crime. Two other suspects, one Oyedeji Blessing ‘m’ age 22yrs who received the stolen phone and one Oyekola Mumini ‘m’ a GSM repairer, who assisted to flash and destroy evidence on the phone were arrested.

Gbolahan blamed the devil for his action.

Quote:“On that day, I went to her house, I had sex with her forcefully, and thereafter, I used a wooden stool to hit her in head and she died, it was the work of devil, I’ve initially went for her naming ceremony, and I have once toasted the woman, and she told me she will think of it, i don’t know what prompted me to kill her.”

Oyekola Mumini, a phone repairer who was arrested over the murder, said that he has nothing to do with the killing of the woman. According to him, he was arrested for wiping away details on the phone which was unknowing to him that it was a stolen phone.
Quote:“When the phone of the deceased woman was brought to me, I was told that the document of the phone has been lost, so told him (Ismail) to filled a form before I can wipe the phone unknown to me that the phone was a stolen phone, I was later arrested as an accomplices of the crime I didn’t know anything about.”

Mercy made a major revelation about her love life before she got unveiled as a housemate on the Big Brother Naija Reality TV show during her discussion with her colleague, Elozonam.

The reality show star revealed that she was dating former Super Eagles player, Emmanuel Emenike before he got married to ex-beauty Queen Iheoma Nnadi. According to her, the footballer was in love with her while they were dating but she felt he had cold feet in getting serious in their relationship because she was a "nobody" at that time which was understandable.

Mercy said that she took the decision of becoming a celebrity at all cost after getting to know about Emenike's marriage on social media and also finding out that he blocked her on all social media platforms after she tried contacting him. Though she didn't know how to achieve her aim of becoming a celebrity before BBNaija, Mercy however added that her plan is to pop up whenever he reaches for his phone.

Here is the video below;

Emmanuel Emenike and Iheoma Nnadi got married in a star studded wedding on 25 May, 2018, barely a year after they welcomed their daughter.

The ancient city of Sapele in Delta State is again on the news for the wrong reasons as a lady in her early twenties has been reported have stolen and disappeared with a box containing gold jewelries and other valuables from her uncle’s wife.

It was gathered that the box of gold and other valuables allegedly stolen by the lady identified as Sonia Akpeki are worth N12 million.
Sonia, who also goes by the name “So Nia”, had reportedly absconded with her boyfriend to Ghana.

Sapele, one of the most renowned urban towns in Delta State, has consistently been on the news for the wrong reasons including recent ritual killings, internet frauds and kidnappings.
It was gathered that Sonia who school at the Delta State University, Abraka, broke into her uncle’s room, Ogbimi Benjamin, where she reportedly stole the items belonging to the uncle’s wife.
According to Sapele Oghenek, a Facebook news monitoring platform in Sapele, a while confirming the development, said a N300, 000 has been placed as bounty for anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the fleeing lady.

WARRI TODAY, however, learnt that the suspected had reportedly fled the country to Ghana with her boyfriend.

It was gathered that the phone number of the Sonia had been switched off since the incident.

It was not clear if there is a disagreement with between Sonia and her uncle’s wife who deals on cosmetics along Boyo Road in Sapele.
But a family source said there was no disagreement until the incident, adding that efforts to arrest the suspect were on.
“Sonia is a ‘thief.’ She broke into our uncle’s room and stole a box of gold and other valuables including expensive clothes, and then disappeared. Nobody knows where she has gone but some persons are saying she is in Ghana with her boyfriend, others are saying she is hiding in Benin.

“What she did is barbaric especially for a family that has been training her in school. This is not the first time she will be stealing from our uncle. This one is just too much. She must produce the items she stole.
“Our uncle’s wife is a very good person and she has been supporting her school financially aside the money our uncle gives to her. She was not being maltreated at all. The woman treats her as her own daughter”, our source who preferred anonymous said.

Efforts by our correspondent to speak to Mr Benjamin on the incident proved abortive.

However, the State Police Commissioner, Adeyinka Adeleke, told WARRI TODAY though they were aware of the incident, the matter had not been reported to the police as at the time he was contacted on Friday

Meanwhile, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Friday visited Jumbam, the worst hit community to assess and sympathise with the victims of the disaster.
Represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Guban, the Governor said he had since directed State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide all necessary humanitarian assistance to the affected victims.

“Yobe State Government is committed to providing shelter and conducive environment for human habitation in all the affected communities”, Buni said.
Briefing the Governor earlier, the Chairman of Tarmuwa Local Government Area, Abubakar Gidado explained that the last flood experienced in area was around 1956.
On his part, the Emir of Jajere Alhaji Mai Hamza Ibn Buba Mashio told the visiting governor that the heavy downpour had affected many farmlands, while many houses had been completely destroyed.

It was gathered that so far, flood had ravaged many villages in 13 out of the 17 local government areas of the state.
Yobe state is among the states predicted by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) to experience flooding, in its annual flood prediction for the 2019 raining season.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 14TH SEPTEMBER.

DON’T GO OVERBOARD

Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth (Proverbs 6:2)

In your personal life as a Christian, you must demonstrate the Word everywhere, and at all times. Don’t let casual talk rob you of the effectiveness of the Word in you, and through you. Never become so casual with the Word and in your talk that you lose respect for the truth of God’s Word and who He’s made you. Maintain the consciousness of the honour the Lord has placed on your life, such that even when you joke, it’s never against the Word, your identity or heritage in Christ.

The Bible says, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (Ephesians 4:29). Your jokes shouldn’t be coarse; don’t go overboard. It’s okay to be funny, but don’t get so funny that you forget who you are. Express dignity, honour, even when you joke.
When you talk about God, be reverent, because His angels are always present. Many have got themselves into trouble because of their casual or idle communication, forgetting that they’re snared or taken captive by their words.

Never say anything that’s against your body or your life, all in the name of making a joke. You may not mean it, but if you say it, you’ll have it. That’s what Jesus said in Mark 11:23. He didn’t say, “You’ll have what you say, only if you weren’t joking”; rather, He said, “You shall have what you say.” It’s a law of the Spirit; use it to your advantage.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the honour you’ve placed on my life. I never lose sight of the truth of your Word and who you’ve made me in Christ. My words are inspiring; I’m excellent in my communication, everywhere and every time, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

14TH SEPTEMBER.

I affirm that my future is settled and secured! I am in Christ; therefore, the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yes, I have a goodly heritage! Daily, I experience fruitfulness, peace, prosperity, and productivity in every area of my life, for the Lord has perfected all that concerns me, in line with His will and destiny for my life. My mind is blessed of the Lord and I have insight into His perfect will, as He guides me in the path of victory, divine health, and dominion.

My faith is alive and strong, prevailing over circumstances and deal wisely in the affairs of life. I refuse to stagger at the Word of God through unbelief; but I am strong in faith, convinced that God’s Word never fails, and confident that I have whatsoever I desire when I pray.

I will never walk in darkness, confusion or uncertainty because I am in fellowship with the Holy Spirit; He is my light and the One who teaches and guides me in the way that I should go. I am energized and well-positioned for the supernatural life by the Spirit of God who lives in me! I am a success, a victor, and a winner forever.

I seize the moment and live to my full potentials in Christ, fully at rest and assured of victory because the greater One who lives in me pilots me triumphantly today and always. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

God bless you

Oil prices fall after OPEC+ talks, ECB rate cut

September 12, 2019

[Image: oil-opec-nigerian-iraqi-european-central...1110&ssl=1]
Oil prices fell on Thursday after a meeting of the OPEC+ alliance yielded no decision on deepening supply cuts but focused instead on bringing Nigerian and Iraqi output down to their agreed quotas.

Oil came under further pressure after the European Central Bank cut its deposit rate to a record low -0.5 per cent from -0.4 per cent and said it will restart bond purchases of 20 billion euros a month from November to prop up eurozone growth.

Brent crude futures LCOc1 were down $1.20 cents at $59.61 a barrel by 1237 GMT.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures CLc1 fell 96 cents to $54.79.
Both were heading for a third session of losses.

Saudi Arabia’s new Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, said deeper cuts would not be decided before a meeting of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) planned for December.
Abdulaziz said, however, his country would keep cutting by more than it pledged in a deal that has throttled supply by OPEC and its allies by 1.2 million barrels per day.

Nigeria, Iraq and Russia have, at times, produced above their quota.
A statement from OPEC and its allies, a grouping known as OPEC+, said oil stocks in industrial countries remained above the five-year average.

Oman’s Energy Minister said “the outlook is not very good for 2020’’.
Both crude benchmarks fell sharply the previous day following a report that U.S. President Donald Trump had weighed easing sanctions on Iran, a move that would potentially boost global crude supply.

“The drop is due to a combination of reports of Trump and Iran, the ECB easing, which pushed up the dollar which hurt oil,’’ said David Madden, an analyst at CMC Markets.

Also feeding the bearish sentiment, the International Energy Agency, which advises industrial economies on energy policy, said surging U.S. output would make balancing the market “daunting” in 2020.

The Paris-based agency kept its oil demand growth forecasts for this and next year at 1.1 million bpd and 1.3 million bpd, respectively.

“There is not a lot of room for any waiver on Iranian crude oil imports,’’ said Petromatrix analyst, Olivier Jakob, pointing to likely inventory builds in the first half of next year.

Supporting prices earlier in Thursday’s session, China and the U.S. made some concessions in a protracted trade war, which has weighed on oil demand forecasts, ahead of a planned meeting in coming days.

Also giving a floor to prices, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday that U.S. crude oil stockpiles fell last week to their lowest in nearly a year, as refineries raised output and imports fell. (Reuters/)

Xenophobic Rage: Why We Don’t Want To Return Home
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 09-14-2019, 09:31 AM - No Replies

As the Air Peace aircraft that brought the first batch of 188 Nigerian returnees from South Africa, landed at the tarmac of the Muritala Mohammed International Airport , Lagos, Wednesday night, the returnees were welcomed into the warmth arms of some government officials and relatives, amidst different expressions on their faces.

Six hundred others who willingly decided to return home, in order to escape the xenophobic attacks in South Africa, are still awaiting their turn to board the next available flight.

But with a record of over 30,000 Nigerians living in South Africa, one would have expected the number of returnees to be more that 688.
Investigation by Saturday Vanguard on why the number of voluntary returnees is low, showed that most Nigerians are still weighing the option. Meanwhile, back in South Africa, foreign nationals among who are Nigerians, are still locked indoors for fear of further attacks, with their work places still a shadow of what they used to be.

In a telephone conversation with some of them in different provinces, they blamed the economic condition back home in Nigeria, as the major reason they are reluctant to return.

One of them, Ferdnard Ikechukwu , who was asked why he did not use the opportunity of the free flight back to Nigeria, said, “ Come to Nigeria to do what? Is the situation there better than what we have here? Are Boko Haram not killing people at will? Are there no militia groups who take laws into their hands and waste innocent lives in Nigeria? What about all the killings back home by bandits, herdsmen kidnappers? What has the government done to address them?
“ Besides, will government give me job? Will I return and fold my hands watching my aged parents feed me , my wife and children? I will rather remain here and pray for God’s protection”.

Electricity

Another Nigerian, Osasoyen Idemia, said “ Government is saying we should come home when there are no plans on ground for us. If the Nigerian government will address the issue of electricity, about 75% of Nigerians in South Africa will return home because our work needs unhindered electricity supply. If there is constant electricity supply in Nigeria, Nigerians who have invested here in South Africa will return home. This is an essential need government must address”.

On his part, Mr Uche Ozioma, said, “ It is not as if I do not want to return home. But I have already established a business here. I have been here for 20 years and I have branches in seven provinces. I have four children, all graduates. Two of them are married to South Africans. I go home (Nigeria ) every December to spend Christmas with my parents and relatives. Tell me, if I leave here, where would I start from ?”

Another Nigerian Edome Asemota , said, “ I can’t leave because there is no hope for me back home. I came into South Africa, three years ago, having spent five years in Nigeria without a job. I did all kinds of menial jobs to eke a living, while in Nigeria, yet , I could not rent one-room apartment. Besides, pressure was on me to get married because I am an only child.

“My course mate back in the university invited me to South Africa three years ago. I started as a sales boy in a car mart in Malvern , a suburb of Johannesburg. I also help people wash cars. At least I could save reasonable amount. The only problem here is the xenophobic attacks. My prayer is that God will spare my life”.

Cause of attacks

Also, an auto parts dealer, who simply gave his name as Dino, attributed the cause of the attacks on Nigerians and nationals from other African countries to what he described as lackadaisical attitude of the South African Government to checkmate excesses of the perpetrators of the attacks.

Dino said, “ The attacks are perpetrated by youths who live in hostels. These hostels are in Hillbrow, Malvern, Orlando and almost all the provinces. They are homes provided by government to jobless people. Aside this, they are paid monthly.

“Those living in the homes are being used by some government officials to distort the country. They target foreign nationals because that is the only way to gain international attention. They launch attack any time they want money from government. By the time they get the money, the whole place will be calm.
“ There has been call to scrap these hostels and give these people jobs. But they are not ready to work because they are used to getting free money. Claims that South African women go after men from other countries and abandon their men is not false. Their women accuse their men of not spending much on them as men from other countries do.
“ At the moment , everyone is indoors. Fortunately, the ongoing crisis is not only affecting Nigerians and other foreign nationals. It is also affecting South Africans because some of them owned the burnt shops we rented for our businesses. Also some buildings that were destroyed are owned by South Africans.

For instance, I have three South Africans as employees. Like me, they have not reported to work since last Monday’s attack. The solution is not in Nigerians or other African countries nationals leaving South Africa. It is left in the hands of the South African government to address activities of these hostel boys”.

South Africa May Impose 10-year Travel Ban On Evacuated Nigerians
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 09-14-2019, 09:28 AM - No Replies

The various obstacles reportedly imposed by the South African airport and immigration officials during the evacuation of the first batch of Nigerians that opted to leave the country over xenophobic attacks,

seems to have a strategic end-game of a travel ban. LIB reported earlier that the Air Peace Boeing 777 aircraft arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos at 9.34 pm as the 9am flight did not depart the OR Tambo International Airport until 4pm.

It was learnt that the South African Foreign Affairs ministry saw the evacuation as “a yellow card to Nigeria-South Africa relations", hence the imposition of a biometric capture of all returning individuals.

Some officials said that the biometric exercise which saw the cancellation of South African visas possessed by the Nigerians, was instituted to blacklist the evacuated Nigerians.

An official told Punch, “When you are evacuating your citizens from a country, it is like sending a strong message to that country about your relations with them. No country would be happy with the evacuation of foreign nationals from its territory. “South Africans were very strategic. We arrived at Joburg by 6.15 am.

The intention was to leave by 9 am, but after clearing about 85 out of the 313 who were scheduled for airlifting, they insisted they should do biometric capture for those who were willing to leave. “So, they had to come down from the plane and start the clearance process afresh.

Now, there are reports that if they capture your biometrics and you leave, you won’t be allowed into South Africa again or you may be barred from visiting for at least 10 years. “So, some Nigerians who planned to come to Nigeria to relax for some time and then go back eventually decided to stay back for fear of being barred from visiting South Africa, where they have investments and families.” A Nigerian foreign affairs ministry disclosed that about 135 Nigerians decided to stay back following the new conditions imposed by the immigration authorities.

He stated, “The immigration asked those who were travelling with children to present letters of consent from their spouses.

If they didn’t have the consent letter, they would not allow the children to leave with the mother. “Initially, it was 313 persons who were billed to come back with the flight, but 135 went back.
