Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has accused the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun of plotting to derail the party.

Okorocha who said he played a key role in the formation of the APC spoke against the backdrop of the party’s ward congress in the state, two weeks ago, where materials meant for the exercise were allegedly ‘stolen’ by some party officials.

Okorocha, who doubles as chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, said his opposition to the tenure elongation of the current NWC was responsible for his purported persecution by the Oyegun-led leadership.

In a state by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, the governor maintained with the names already mentioned by those arrested, he has been vindicated.

“We commend the police for the good job. We also know that others who took part in the stealing of the Congresses materials will be unmasked as time goes on.

“APC members in the state are in high spirits. They want to see those who let them down and caused undue tension in the state and also created bad media reports for the state, to pay dearly for their wickedness and insensitivity,” he said.

The governor commended the Nigeria Police Force over the arrest of four suspects who allegedly stole sensitive materials meant for the ward and local government elections of the APC in Imo State.
Okorocha said the arrests vindicated his earlier claim of stolen materials.

But Senator Hope Uzodimma (Imo West) has disowned the result sheets of the APC in the state purportedly recovered by the police from four suspects in Abuja last Saturday.

The said documents, according to the police, were meant for the May 5 Ward Congresses.
In a statement in Abuja yesterday by the Director General of the Hope Uzodimma Campaign Organisation (HUCO), Christopher Osuala, the Senator also disowned Innocent Ikpamezie who claimed to be the Senator’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Electoral Matters.

Osuala maintained that “there is no provision for the Senator to appoint a SSA on Electoral Matters and he never did. All staff are employed and seconded to Senators by the National Assembly Service Commission.”
The DG noted that the desperation of Governor Okorocha to discredit the ward congresses obviously manifested in this apparent concoction.

“It is clear that Governor Okorocha continues to oppose Senator Hope Uzodimma’s entry into the All Progressives Congress (APC) and had vowed openly on public media to stop the Senator’s participation in APC’s activities, otherwise how can one justify the facts that it was Governor Okorocha and his aides who reportedly arrested the so-called Senator’s aide with the others in a hotel and hurriedly took them to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) where they were immediately transferred to the Force

Headquarters Abuja and a press conference and hurriedly organised without reaching the senator to find out whether the alleged SSA on Electoral Maters was his staff?”
He noted that since Governor Okorocha started shouting about missing documents, no organ of the APC at the national or Imo State had reported that their electoral documents were missing.

Osuala appealed to Chief Odigie-Oyegun to call Governor Okorocha to order as his continued intransigence and orchestrations were capable of destroying the credibility and unity of purpose of the party in the state.

Meanwhile, in the South South, specifically in Bayelsa State, former governor Timipre Sylva and the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri have appealed to party members to shun political disagreements that could threaten the party’s unity.

Sylva and Lokpobiri made the appeal during a stakeholders meeting to reconcile party disagreements, on the eve of the local government congress.

Chairman of the APC ward and local government congresses in Bayelsa, Dr. Adebanjo Dawodu said the exercise in other local government areas was also peaceful.

In Enugu, the Congress Committee described as baseless, claims of a parallel congress in the state.
The committee or the electoral materials were reportedly not seen during the ward congress, which prompted Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama and his faction to conduct a parallel congress.

Failure of the Appeal Panel, led by Charles Babagbale to resolve the grievances and complaints of the aggrieved members, which upheld the result of the congresses, as submitted by Emma Eneukwu and Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, triggered another parallel congress during the local government congress.

In a related development, Chairman of a six-member panel in Enugu, Dr. Ikechukwu Odigbo, disclosed that his committee conducted a peaceful congress across the 17 local government areas of the state.
Odigbo dismissed the parallel congress held by Onyeama, stressing that his committee adhered strictly to the guidelines as laid down by the NWC.

PDP Rejects Kaduna L.G. Elections Results
News - May 13, 20180

By AUSTIN OWOICHO, Abuja

. Highly Provocative

. Fraudulent

. Indefensible

.Result Manipulated

Totally Intolerable

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected as highly provocative, fraudulent and completely indefensible the alteration of final results and declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner in areas clearly won by the PDP in the Kaduna state local council elections held on Saturday.

This was expressed in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, made available on Sunday.

“From the reports of results at the polling centers, it is clear that the PDP defeated the APC in most of the areas where elections held across the state, including Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s ward where the PDP led with over 90% percent of the votes cast.

“The result of this election is a clear testimony of our popularity in the state. As such, PDP rejects the fraud by Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) in altering the results in favour of APC,” it stated.

PDP said that it is totally intolerable for KADSIECOM, working in cahoots with the discredited APC, to engage in the manipulation of the collation process by changing the figures and announcing final results that are different from figures tallied at the polling centers.

“Such daylight robbery by the APC is absolutely unacceptable, particularly, given the precarious security situation in the state.

“We have preponderance of instances where final electoral officers were whisked away to unknown destinations by agents of Kaduna state government, aided by security agencies, while fake results are being announced in favour of the APC.

“For instance, while voters and party agents were still waiting for the return of electoral officer, Mr. Elisha Gandu at the Kajuru Local Government secretariat where results from polling centers show that the PDP won 9 out of the 10 wards, the Nagarta Radio was busy announcing APC as winner.

“This is the situation in most of the final results so far announced by the commission and we cannot accept such.

“We want the APC and KADSIECOM to note that the PDP has eyes everywhere, monitored the entire balloting processes at all levels and know directly how all the parties, including our great party, the PDP performed in all the polling centers across Kaduna state.

“Consequently, the PDP cautions the Chairman of KADSIECOM, Dr. Saratu Binta Dikko-Audu to save the state from avoidable stress by resisting the APC, withdrawing all altered final results and announcing only results that reflect the actual wishes of the people as expressed in the ballot.

“KADSIECOM Chairman must note that the entire world is watching and history beckons as she makes her decision to stand either on the side of truth, justice and honour or on the side of corruption, treachery and infamy,” PDP said.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 14TH MAY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ Your Understanding Of The Gospel ✨

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth... (Romans 1:16).

Your main purpose on earth is to establish the Kingdom of God. We just read that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. In other words, God’s power to save, help, deliver, and bless is in the Gospel. All a man needs is to hear and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he’ll be changed forever.

This was the understanding and the conviction that Christians in the early Church had that made them preach the Gospel fearlessly; they were bold and confident with the Gospel. They were arrested, beaten, and even killed for the Gospel’s sake, all because of their understanding that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Despite the fierce opposition and persecution they faced, they were undeterred, fearlessly preaching the Name of Jesus (Acts 5:41).

It’s not enough to preach the Gospel, you must also understand the Gospel that you preach, and be convinced it’s the only hope there is for all men. Your personal understanding of the Gospel is very important, because your life would be a reflection of “your gospel.” Your gospel is your perception of what Christ came to do, and the import, impact, and relevance of that in your personal life; that’s what will form your message. So, if you don’t fully understand the true Gospel of Christ, you’ll preach the wrong message.

The same message the apostles preached, which Jesus Himself began both to do and teach (Acts 1:1) is what we have the privilege to take to our world today. Be sure that that true message is what you preach. Study it. Understand it, and be convinced that it’s the only hope and power there is for the salvation of mankind.

There’re no options to the Gospel. There’s no other way to the Father, except Jesus Christ. He said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). This is absolute reality, and it must form the basis of your convictions: your speech, your thinking. Your outlook on life must be from this understanding and persuasion about Christ and His Gospel.

PRAYER

I have the perfect understanding of the Gospel of Christ—a revelation granted me by the Holy Ghost, to know and live by the greater truths of the Gospel, proclaiming the same with signs following, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Study:

Hebrews 5:13-14 For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Romans 1:15-17 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

NCAA suspends FirstNation Airways AOC indefinitely for infractions
User Avatar Forum: Travel/Aviation
Posted by: Edoman - 05-13-2018, 10:22 PM - No Replies

THE Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) today announced the suspension of the Air Operators Certificate (AOC) of First Nation Airways indefinitely for what the regulator described as flagrant violations.
This suspension was conveyed to the Airline via a letter with reference no. NCAA/DG/CSLA/RM/1-06/18/2304 dated 11th May, 2018, signed by the Director General.
The letter titled: Notice of Suspension of Air Operators Certificate was delivered to the Airline on Friday, 11th May, 2018 and First Nation Airways has acknowledged receipt.
The suspension is sequel to the flagrant and continuous violation of the terms and conditions of issuance of it AOC by the Airline thereby carrying out unauthorised and illegal operations.
The letter revealed that when the AOC of First Nation Airways expired, the airline did not have at least two (2) airworthy aircraft capable of servicing its approved schedule as required by Part 9.1.1.6(b)(2) (ii) of Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulation (Nig.CARS) 2015.
Consequently, the Airline’s Air Operators Certificate (AOC) was, upon renewal, restricted to non-scheduled operation, (Charter) only.
However, First Nation Airways embarked on scheduled operations with continuous advertisement of its services and sold tickets at its Check-in counters in Lagos and Abuja Airports.
The Authority had earlier notified the Airline that it was investigating these violations. Subsequently, by a letter dated 31st August 2017, the Airline was directed to stop the illegal operations forthwith, warning that failure to desist would lead to a suspension of its operating authorisation.
On further investigation, it was discovered that the Airline had disregarded all warnings and continued with the unauthorised and illegal operations in violation of its AOC terms and conditions of issuance.
This is contrary to the provisions of Part 9.1.1.4(d) of the Nig.CARS 2015 which provides that “Each AOC holder shall at all times, continue in compliance with the AOC terms and conditions of issuance, and maintenance requirements in order to hold that certificate.”
The Authority has therefore determined that, pursuant to Section 35(2),(3) (a) (ii) and (4) of the Civil Aviation Act, 2006, First Nation Airways is no longer fit to operate air transport business under the authority of the AOC.
Accordingly, the Airline’s AOC has been suspended indefinitely, with effect from the 11th May, 2018, when it received the notice.
In addition, the operators of the Airline are expected to return the AOC to the Authority’s Director of Operations and Training within seven (7) days of receiving the letter.
However, it should be noted that anytime the Airline demonstrates ability and willingness to comply with the extant regulations, the Authority shall review the Airline’s operations and restore the AOC to enable it commence operations.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) wishes to restate its zero tolerance for violations of the Nig.CARS and shall continue to enforce compliance through application of appropriate sanctions for any infractions.

Imo APC Crisis: "I Am In Charge" - Okorocha Regains Ground (VIDEO)

@POLITICSNGR

Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has revealed that the state leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC is back in his control.

He made this comment at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport today Sunday, May 13, 2018, addressing Rescue Missionaries, APC Chieftains and support groups who were in the airport to receive him on arrival from Abuja.

Okorocha has been locked in a battle with Opposition elements within the Imo APC who reportedly hijacked the results of Imo APC Congress that took place last week Saturday. He emphasized that the National Working Committee of the party will be meeting on Tuesday, May 16 to deliberate on the issues of the botched IMO Ward Congress to decide on the new date saying "There won't be LGA congress without that of the ward, you can't put the carte before the horse, therefore we should remain calm and law abiding until a new date is fixed for the both Congress elections in the state".

On the stolen sensitive materials, the Governor said the aides of Senator Hope Uzodinma, Sen. Osita Izunaso, Sen Araraume and others have been arrested by NPF in connection with the issue and the culprits will be arraigned in court saying "they are all political thieves".

Okorocha assured members of the party in the state that a congress will still be held and that the 'opposition elements' will be rooted out of the party.

Bride Runs Away After Groom Fails To Provide Traditional Marriage Items
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 05-13-2018, 09:35 PM - No Replies

Quote:The police in Suleja, Niger State, have confirmed the arrest of the parents and relation of a bride, who disappeared after her wedding, refusing to go to her husband’s home.

The arrest of the trio followed a complaint to the police by their son in-law, Shuaib Dauda, for the sudden disappearance of their daughter few hours after wedding.

Mr Dauda earns a living as an auto mechanic.
Aliyu Lawal, officer-in-charge of Kaduna-Road police outpost in Suleja, gave the confirmation to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

Mr Lawal, a police inspector, said the incident occurred on May 6 when the bridegroom complained to the police that the people he sent to the bride’s home to fetch her, in accordance with the tradition, did not see her.

Mr Lawal said the footdragging by the brides’ family to deliver the bride to the bridegroom led to the disruption of peace in the area, hence the arrest of the parents and the marriage guardian.

“They were arrested on Sunday, May 6, and granted bail on Monday May 7,” he said.

But Abubakar Haruna, popularly known as Zakiru and a resident of Hayi along Kaduna Road, told NAN that he gave out two daughters same day, Fiddausi to Mr Dauda and Saliha to one Muhammadu Murtala.

He said before the marriage, Mr Dauda and Mr Murtala promised to comply with all the religious and traditional obligations for the marriage such as the dowry and buying of clothes and boxes for the brides.

“After the wedding ceremony, Dauda said he could not afford to buy the clothes and boxes to the bride as promised earlier.

“Fiddausi, realising that Murtala (the husband to Saliha) had redeemed his promise and presented the traditional gifts and Dauda did not, ran away to the neighbouring house until her bridegroom fulfilled his own promise,’’ he said.

Mr Haruna said already beddings, traditional kitchen wares, furniture and other domestic utensils had been taken to Dauda’s home, ahead of the conveyance of Fiddausi to her new home.

He explained that while they were searching for Fiddausi, the team sent by the bridegroom to fetch Fiddausi to the matrimonial home hinted Mr Dauda of the sudden disappearance of the bride.

He claimed Mr Dauda mobilised his friends who stormed his compound, insisting that Fiddausi must be produced. In the process they molested him and brutalised his wife, named Bayi.

“Some other female guests from Kano were also brutalised, food items and other valuables they brought for the wedding ceremony were stolen by the hoodlums who attacked us for our alleged failure to produce the bride,’’ Mr Haruna said.

Mr Haruna said while the hoodlums were molesting his family and his guests, the police officers from Kaduna Road outpost arrested him, his wife and his younger brother who is also the marriage guardian. The latter was identified as Umar Musa.

Mr Haruna dismissed the allegation by the police that he was arrested for disrupting public peace in the community. Rather, he explained that the police asked him to refund N260,000 to Dauda, being the amount he spent on the marriage.

Mr Haruna said when he failed to pay the money as demanded, he was detained together with his wife and his younger brother by the police.

According to him, they were detained overnight at the police outpost and were granted bail following the intervention of his lawyer, Aliyu Musa.

He said the bail was obtained on the condition that they would bring the money the following day or risk prosecution.

@POLITICSNGR
Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has dared ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo and his party, ADC to show the Nigerian public their presidential candidate.

While reacting to Obasanjo’s announcement on the transformation of his political movement into a political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bello said the APC is well prepared to slug it out with the new party in the 2019 general elections.

Bello’s challenge on Obasanjo was made at a stakeholders’ forum organized in Lokoja recently. He said;

"Let us see who they will present to contest against President Muhammadu Buhari, our God-given leader, whom US President Donald Trump, even referred to as Sir."

He added;

"We are going to retire these old and bad politicians in 2019. It is just like the President said, ‘if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.’ So also, if we don’t retire these old and bad politicians, good politicians will be sent away."

Okra, Ugu, Ogbono Soup Recipe With Cooking Pictures To make this weekend

Served okra, ogbono, vegetable soup with some hot fluffy, nice and smooth eba
[Image: how%2Bto%2Bcook%2Bokra%2Bsoup%2Bwith%2Be...ogbono.jpg]
We have more than enough Nigerian soup recipes on the blog already, see more soup recipes  but, just to let us cook something a bit different this weekend, I added this delicious pot of Nigerian draw soup. Try it and you will come back for more. Trust me, there'll be left over if you are not firm on the
eaters. It didn't take long to cook as the frozen beef and snails thawed very fast under running water. Someone in my house does not eat carbohydrates for dinner but could not resist the aroma and look of this soup as he walk into the kitchen. He asked for it though begging me to make the eba very small so he doesn't gain back all the calories he managed to burn at the gym this evening. What is life without eating what we enjoy? There are people who only derive joy from eating good food, aside that, life is not so sweet, so, why treat food like it's poison. Never reject good food. Refusing food doesn't make us lose weight o, in fact experts say "eat everything but in small portions" Our bodies need every nutrient to be healthy and fit.. Soup and eba doesn't make you obesed if you eat the right portion, not when we pack one big bowl of garri with soup containing two pieces of beef, three pieces of snail, fish, 3 long kpomos etc, tell me why you nor go fat explode? Eat the right quantity, nor be say you eat till you belch like shrek the movie. Eat this soup and see how fresh you'll look.
Ingredients For This delicious Nigerian Soup

 1. 1 kg Beef
 2. salt to taste
 3. 1 medium sized onion
 4. 3 cups water to start with, if soup is thicker than you want, you can gradually add water in small quanties while soup cooks.
 5. 1/2 cup palm oil: This salad master pots do not need oil, I only add oil when I cook for the kids because they are still growing, when I cook for me and hubby alone, the food is colored with a little ground tatashe not oil.
 6. 1/2 cup ground ogbono
 7. 1 cup ground crayfish
 8. 2 cubes maggi crayfish
 9. 1/2 cup Locust beans (dadawa) This is optional
 10. 4 cups chopped okra (okro)
 11. 1 small bunch ugu vegetables (Flutted pumpkin)
 12. A handful of uziza vegetable (Optional)
 13. 4 large Snails (Optional)
 14. 3 medium Smoked catfish
 15. 1 teaspoon ground fresh pepper. I used my pepper sauce
 16. Hot Eba (Garri) for serving with the soup. Any fufu of choice
COOKING STEPS FOR OGBONO SOUP WITH OKRO AND UGU/UZIZA:

 1. Boil the meat with salt, seasoning and onion. While meat boils,
 2. chop the okro to your preferred sizes, chop the uziza leaves, blend or pound the ogbono until smooth and powdery, blend the crayfish too and set aside. If snails haven't been washed, wash with lime or alum, rinse very well.
 3. Add snails to boiling salted water in a separate pot, leave for about 3 minutes, remove now crunchy snails and set aside.
 4. When beef and stock fish are cooked, bring out the stockfish and add water to cover the meat a little.
 5. Add palm oil and wait till pot boils again, then add the ogbono, crayfish, locust beans seasoning cubes. Now, let these ingredients boil very well for at least 10 minutes while you stir occasionally. When ogbono is completely dissolved, check for taste, add more salt if needed. By this time, you have your soup base and can smell the sweet aroma in the kitchen. For ogbono, just like egusi soup, the longer it boils the better. Add the already boiled snails and the cooked stockfish you set aside, always wash and add the smoked fish now because you don't want it disappearing in the soup. Let soup boil some more for about 3 to 5 minutes. At this time of cooking, if you do not like vegetables, then here is when to remove from heat and serve your plain ogbono soup. Since we are cooking ogbono soup with vegetables here.
 6. Finally add the okro, Uziza and ugu vegetables, stir, leave for just 1 minute and remove from heat. If you like your vegetables  very cooked and wilted, then wait a little longer before removing from stove.
 7. Serve with any swallow of choice, I served with eba. Pounded yam will do wonders here anyway.

Happy ogbono soup cooking!
Soup ingredients: That's ugu and okra in bags, they have been in the fridge for over a week waiting to be cooked. Frozen beef, maggi chicken, catfish, ground crayfish, dawadawa,

Boiling snail in a different pot so they don't overcook with the meat. When soup is done, I'll just add this snails in there. They were added into already boiling salted water to make crunchy.

Meat is done, some water added for stock

Snails are hardened now and very very crunchy, ready for the soup

 Palm oil

I can't find the dry blender and okra is sitting in the food processor, oya, mortar and pestle, do the job

Ogbono is added after the palm oil boils

Crayfish and ogbono can be ground together and added at the same time if you like.

 Adding seasoning cubes

Adding locust beans

 Vegetables in the pot

Stirring to mix the ugu and okra

Adding the crunchy snails and my preserved fresh pepper (pepper sauce)

Soup is ready and fresh and nutritious

 My Nigerian draw soup

Smoked fish is added after all the ingredients because I like to chew my fish, I like to look at the fish when I eat, so I nor want make e scatter for pot. Yes I like to chew okra too, so I leave soome bigger ones like that for myself, you can chop your okra tiny.

 Stirring in the dry fish

Soup happily boils away, but not for long so the vegetables don't pass away in the pot

Soup for the stomach, it can be eaten with a spoon if you do not like swallows.
See that chunk of fish, if you add the fish too early, you'll not find any chunk at the end, you'll be searching like that mama in the advert looking for where her daughter in law hid the chicken in the jollof rice.

Have fun cooking and you can serve the soup with any swalllow of choice, semovita, wheat meal, Unripe plantain fufu, pounded yam, Akpu, Starch, Amala etc.
Freezing snails can make them as crunchy as carrots, these ones are that crunchy.
Enjoy!

JAMB Makes N8.5 Billion From 2018 Admission Forms
User Avatar Forum: Education

Quote:EXCLUSIVE: JAMB makes N8.5billion from 2018 admission forms

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board generated a princely N8.453billion from the sales of forms to applicants seeking admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria in 2018, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report.

A top official of the Board told this newspaper Friday morning that the revenue came from payments made by 1,602,762 candidates who registered for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held across the country in March.

Part of the revenue also came from registration fees paid by 135, 670.00 Direct Entry (DE) candidates, our source said. The official asked not to be named because he did not obtain official permission to divulge the details to journalists.

Each of the total 1,798,438 UTME and direct entry candidates paid N5,500 for the forms out of which N4,700 goes to JAMB’s coffers while N800 is remitted to banks and suppliers of reading texts to applicants, the official further explained.

The number of applicants was lower this year following reforms in the application process which effectively blocked multiple registration by candidates. About N1.8million UTME and DE candidates sought tertiary admissions in 2017.

It is not exactly clear how much the Board will remit to the Federal Government this year after settling computer-based test centres, and paying other service providers and exam officials.

In 2017, the examination body paid in N7.8 billion to the government. Our source said the remittance for 2018 will be close to that amount.

Unilever’s Sustainable Living Brands Delivered 70% Of Turnover Growth In 2017
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 05-13-2018, 01:16 PM - No Replies

Unilever has today revealed its fourth consecutive year of growth for its ‘sustainable living’ brands, which delivered 70 percent of its turnover growth and grew 46 percent faster (a slightly slower rate than last year, when it was over 50 percent). then the rest of the business. The company says all of its brands are working to reduce their environmental footprint and increase their positive social impact; the ‘sustainable living’ brands are those that are furthest ahead on the journey.

Figures revealed today show that:

Unilever now has 26 sustainable living brands (up from 18 in 2016). New entrants include household names such as Vaseline, Sunlight, Sunsilk and Wall’s.The list also includes Unilever’s top six brands — Dove, Lipton, Dirt Is Good, Rexona, Hellmann’s and Knorr — and its B-Corp certified brands such as Ben and Jerry’s, Seventh Generation and Pukka Herbs.Over the last four years, sustainable living brands have outperformed the average rate of growth at Unilever. In 2017, these brands grew 46 percent faster than the rest of the business and delivered 70 percent of Unilever’s turnover growth.

The figures show that Unilever is now delivering more social and environmental benefits in more parts of the world through the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP). The USLP was launched in 2010 — setting ambitious targets to decouple Unilever’s growth from its environmental impact while increasing the company’s positive social impact. Today, Unilever is on track to meet around 80 percent of its commitments, which include improving health and wellbeing for 1 billion people, reducing environmental impact by half and enhancing livelihoods for its millions of employees, suppliers, and retailers.

Now officially Unilever’s biggest brand — and one of the oldest sustainable living brands — Dove has reached 29 million people with its Self-Esteem projectand has partnered with The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts since 2013 to develop and deliver quality self-esteem education for girls around the world. | Image credit: Dove

The company announced it is now looking beyond its ULSP targets by carrying out its largest-ever listening exercise on the future of sustainable business. Over 40,000 employees responded to the ‘Have Your Say’ project, setting out their views on the priorities that they would like Unilever to focus on and what future success would look like. The results will be used to co-create Unilever’s future agenda.

CEO Paul Polman said: “Ever since we launched the USLP in 2010, we have reported openly on our progress. We have made great strides in meeting many of the ambitious targets we set ourselves and the fact that our sustainable living brands are continuing to deliver growth shows that this is a business model that works.

“We also want to be transparent about how much more there is still to do. This is critical because transparency is what gives our business its most important asset – trust. At a time when there is a crisis of trust in many institutions across the world, there has never been a more important time for business to play a leading role in restoring it.”

More detail on the progress of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan can be found online. Highlights from 2017 include:

601 million people have been reached through Unilever’s programmes on handwashing, sanitation, oral health, self-esteem and safe drinking water. Lifebuoy soap alone has reached over 426 million people with its handwashing programme;109 of Unilever’s manufacturing sites across 36 countries are now using 100 percent renewable grid electricity, accounting for 65 percent of total grid electricity consumption;56 percent of Unilever’s agricultural raw materials are now sustainably sourced. In February this year, Unilever became the first company to publicly disclose the suppliers and mills from which it sources palm oil both directly and indirectly;Unilever enabled roughly 716,000 smallholder farmers to access initiatives aiming to improve their agricultural practices or increase their incomes.

Other notable progress:

Domestos is one of Unilever’s core global Home Care brands, sold in 35 countries, and with a goal to help 25 million people gain improved access to a toilet by 2020. To date, Domestos has improved access to a toilet for 10 million people. In the last year, Domestos has launched a new and affordable toilet cleaning powder format in India, and brought a new ‘Flush Less’ spray to market in South Africa, in response to the water shortages affecting the area.Dove is now officially Unilever’s biggest brand — and one of the oldest sustainable living brands — with its focus on driving body confidence. Today, Dove has reached 29 million people with its Self-Esteem project and has partnered with The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts since 2013 to develop and deliver quality self-esteem education. There is compelling evidence that those who have been touched by the Self Esteem programme have a higher purchase intention.Unilever launched two new beauty and personal care brands in 2017, both developed in just under a year, targeting the growing number of consumers seeking more natural, responsible personal care products: Six base ingredients, four fragrances, and a technique called phytoextraction are the building blocks for ApotheCARE Essentials’ 18 naturally derived products. And the more widely released Love Beauty and Planet were formulated without parabens, silicones or dyes; with cruelty-free, vegan and ethically sourced fragrance ingredients; with a pioneering “fast rinse” technology allowing consumers to shave time off their shower, saving water and energy; and packaged in 100 percent recyclable packaging. In March, PG Tips — the UK’s most popular tea brand — introduced fully biodegradable tea bags. By the end of 2018, Unilever is aiming for every tea bag in the PG Tips range to use the new plant-based material, significantly improving its environmental impact without affecting flavor.

Therefore, people who consume high diet of magnesium rarely suffer from diabetes type 2. The fibers in sweet potatoes bring such a significant differences, too. Based on the recent research, the patient of diabetes type 1 who consume high diet of fiber has increased their blood sugar, lipid, and insulin. A medium sweet potato contains of 6 gr of fiber. NEXT, wash and cut vegetables with kitchen knives and set aside.
Wash the fish and set aside too.
1. In a clean cooking pot, heat the oil . I heated mine very hot because some vegetables were frozen.
2. Add the onion, tomatoes, seasoning and pepper, stir and fry for about 1 minute before checking for salt and adding the fish.
3. Stir briefly and Leave the fish to cook for about 15 to 20 minutes as you gently stir occasionally.

4. Check again for salt. Now, take your fish out of the boiling pot before adding the sweet potatoes, you do not want those heavy potatoes wedges to crush your cooked fish. The fish taste has already simmered into your pot by now and the whole kitchen is reporting your cooking.
You can brown the cooked fish in a different greased non stick hot pan like I did mine.
5. Stir porridge pot, cover and let potatoes cook for as soft as you want. Check for tenderness and salt, if you are satisfied, add the vegetables, turn off the heat and bring down from the stove , continue to stir until they are a bit wilted.
6. Serve with the delicious stewed fish.
Below is my step by step cooking pictures to guide you.

HOW TO BAKE SWEET POTATO ON A STOVE
[Image: sweet%2Bpotatoes%2B020.JPG]
Baked Sweet potatoes served with pepper sauce.
Sweet potatoes are the most delicious tubers yet, if you disagree,
ask any kid who has been served sweet potatoes the yummy way. As a child, I didn't really like these nutritious tubers, maybe because my sweet tooth hadn't yet developed then. Now as an adult, I have introduced all my kids to sweet potatoes and they love them. We have tried cooking them with beans and it's really yummy. With sauce, oh so delicious! Roasting with pepper sauce like the one here, Very delicious.
The Benue State Tiv and Idoma people of Nigeria boil and pound sweet potatoes, serve with Nigerian soups just the way we pound and serve yam, so, there's pounded sweet potatoes and they swear by this delicacy (so easy to pound in a food processor I look forward to pounding sweet potatoes some day to have a feel of that deliciousness.  Will sure post the recipe here on the blog, best served with or ogbono soups. Baking, frying and roasting sweet potatoes are my favourite methods of cooking this delicacy yet, because then, the sweet taste kind of gets toned down.
Sweet potatoes are the easiest tubers to cook, unlike yams, they do not itch even if they touch your skin during peeling, There is no fear of itchy and sore throat incase they are undercooked. They can be washed and cooked with the skin intact. Most impressively, they cook really really fast thereby saving you gas and oil. We already know that sweet potatoes are loaded with vitamins and that they contain antioxidants and help us age more slowly. They help prevent so many diseases. You can read that up on thesweet potatoes porridge post.

Political Parties in Merger Talk PDP, ADC, SDP, 35 To Oust Buhari
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 05-13-2018, 12:12 PM - Replies (1)

Quote:John Alechenu , Olusola Fabiyi and Eniola Akinkuotu

As part of the moves to oust President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress in 2019 , the major opposition parties and third force elements are expected to hold joint and separate talks in the coming days with a view to forging an alliance and supporting one presidential candidate .

Some of the parties that will participate in the discussions include the Peoples Democratic Party , the Olusegun Obasanjo -backed African Democratic Congress , and the Chief Olu Falae- led Social Democratic Party among others.

Already , the Nigerian Intervention Movement , co -chaired by Dr . Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) and Dr . Abdujalil Tafawa - Balewa, is presently holding alliance talks with the Coalition for New Nigeria , a coalition of 35 political parties .

The NIM said in a statement that it was holding separate and joint meetings with the Labour Party , United Progressive Party , Action Democratic Party , Action Alliance and several others.

It stated , “ The NIM Coalition team has just ended a marathon coalition talks separately and jointly in Abuja at various locations with the Labour Party , United Progressive Party , Alliance for New Nigeria , Action Democratic Party , and Action Alliance in a process of setting up a national grand electoral alliance for 2019 .

“ All the parties have , by and large, agreed to the NIM ’ s terms and therefore asked to go and reaffirm the endorsement of their leadership organs and structures to avoid future problems .

“ The MOU with the prospective coalition party and other parties in the electoral alliance will be signed next week after due consultations with their various leadership organs and the steering committee meeting of NIM must have given its nod and endorsement. ”

It was learnt that the SDP was expected to hold talks with the NIM next week as well .
The Obasanjo- led Coalition for Nigeria Movement had adopted the ADC as its party .

The National Coordinator of the Obasanjo coalition, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola , had told a gathering on Thursday that there was still room for the ADC to forge alliance with other interested parties to oust Buhari in the next general elections.

Speaking with our correspondent on Saturday , a source close to Obasanjo said the move had spurred others into action, not wanting to be left out.

The source added , “ We have just nine months to the elections and the other groups , especially the NIM , were being slow about it . So , Obasanjo felt time was running out. With what he has done, others have woken up and the alliance talks are beginning to move quicker.

“ In the coming days , you will see defections and re -alignments as the main opposition begins to take shape . ”

When asked why the parties were forging alliances instead of a merger like the APC did in 2013 , the source explained that the time was too short , adding that it might not be able to contain the aftermath before the general elections.

The source added , “The Electoral Act states that no new political party will be registered six months to the general elections. That means August is the deadline . With the way politics is today , coupled with the fact that INEC serves an APC - led government , we may not be able to meet up .

“ Also , the time is too short for all the political parties to agree . Who will step down for who ? How will we conduct congresses in time ? So , the alliance is the best bet. ”

The source said talks were ongoing with the PDP as the former ruling party begins to consider the possibility of changing its name .

He stated that the PDP was also interested in the alliance .

The Chairman of the Coalition for New Nigeria , Dr . Yunusa Tanko, who is also a former National Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council , confirmed to one of our correspondents that over 35 parties were holding talks in order to form an alliance .

He said the PDP had also approached the other parties for a possible alliance .

“ The CNN is a coalition or a group of several political parties but we only form alliances, not mergers. There are alignments and re -alignments happening in some of the parties within our group .

One of our members , which is the ADC, was recently adopted by Obasanjo , ” Tanko added .

When asked if all the parties would be working together to oust Buhari in 2019 , he said , “ You cannot rule out anything . As it is now , there are re -alignments of forces and we will see where things we go . The ADC is only one of our members . ”

He said the SDP was not part of the coalition , noting , however, that there was room for the party to join.

When asked about the PDP, he said , “ The PDP is not yet a member of the CNN but they (party officials ) are making overtures towards us and trying to align with our political parties.

Some of our members got calls from the PDP and said the PDP told them that they would not be able to work alone and they need to align with other existing political parties. So , the alignments are still taking shape . ”

PDP opens discussion with other opposition parties

When contacted on Saturday , the PDP said it had opened discussions with other political parties on how to get Buhari out office in 2019.

Already , it said its committee, saddled with the responsibility of holding discussions with the affected political parties, had swung into action.

The committee, which is known as Contact Committee , and headed by a former Governor of Cross River State , Senator Liyel Imoke, was inaugurated by the party ’ s National Chairman , Prince Uche Secondus , about two weeks ago.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party , Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan , told one of our correspondents in Abuja on Saturday that the committee was already working on its mandate .

He said , “The committee, which is headed by Senator Imoke, is already discussing with all opposition political parties .

“ The task of removing the incompetent Buhari Presidency is not our plan aloe; it is that of the entire oppressed Nigerians, even within the ruling party , the All Progressives Congress .

“ We will meet with all the political parties that are genuinely committed to true change in the country.

“ We expect our committee to brief us soon on its findings and discussions with both the opposition parties and individuals. ”

It was , however, unclear if the committee would brief the Secondus - led National Working Committee this week or not .

SUNDAY PUNCH, however, learnt that Imoke and his team met with leaders of some political parties last week .

Also , the National Publicity Secretary of the SDP , Mr. Alfa Mohammed , confirmed to one of our correspondents on the telephone on Saturday that alliance talks were ongoing.

Mohammed said the primary objective of all opposition parties remained removing Buhari from the Presidency in 2019 .

When asked if the PDP would be part of the alliance , Mohammed said many prominent members of the PDP, like a former Deputy Governor of Osun State , Iyiola Omisore ; a former Minister of Information , Prof. Jerry Gana ; and many others were already in the SDP .

He added , “ In 2015 , the SDP adopted the PDP candidate as its own presidential candidate ; so , we already have a working relationship. It will not be hard for us to work together in 2019 . They may even support our own presidential candidate as a way of returning the favour . ”

Attempts to speak with the Chairman of the ADC , Okey Nwosu , proved abortive as his telephone line indicated that it was busy for two consecutive days .

He had, however , said , while welcoming the Obasanjo group , that the ADC was open to talks in order to forge alliances ahead of 2019.

We are not scared of opposition — APC

Meanwhile , the APC says it has no cause to fret over the coming together of opposition political parties , stating that most Nigerians now appreciate its pioneering efforts in setting the nation on the right path.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC , Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi , said this in a telephone interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, on Saturday .

Abdullahi stated , “ Like I have said over time , we are practising a multi - party democracy and in this kind of system , it is the more , the merrier .

“ As for parties coming together, they are welcome. We have no reason to feel threatened because we are confident that Nigerians appreciate the credible leadership the President Muhammadu Buhari - led APC administration has provided . ”

NIGERIAN FRIED NOODLES RECIPE 2
[Image: Delicious%2Bfried%2Bnoodles.jpg]
Nigerian fried noodles.
To cook complete fried noodles, all the ingredients for Nigerian
fried rice have to be thrown in that pot o. There is a fried noodles recipe posted on this blog, cooked like fried rice and it was delicious and great for some but a bit over cooked for others who like half done noodles (cooked al dente). The ingredients didn't contain all my Nigerian fried rice ingredients, so I decided to post a Nigerian noodle recipe that contains everything and that's not over cooked, just al dente. Nigerian fried rice, fried spaghetti, fried fried fried fried fried that without boiled cow liver or chicken gizzard, tumeric, is almost incomplete. For any Nigerian fried something to be complete, it just has to have that brown tiny pieces of meat and a bit of turmeric for that inviting colour.
This Naija fried noodle recipe, cooked in five minutes is my best yet. You can cook the noodle recipe without boiled liver, see it here, then try this Nigerian fried noodle, compare and see the difference. They are both very delicious but different in a yummy way. The cooking methods are different too. While the former is cooked like fried rice, this one is fried dry before adding any water. 3 minutes and it's done. Because it cannot cook for more than three minutes, keep boiling water ready, so you don't have to wait for your pot to boil. It is dropped in as soon as the boiling water is added. Three minutes from when boiling water is added, food is served.
This delicacy was cooked early in the morning for  a school lunch box and it cooked faster than I even thought.

HOW TO MAKE KUNU DRINK FROM FLOUR

HOW TO MAKE KUNU DRINK FROM FLOUR
[Image: kunu%2Bdrink%2B025.JPG]
Kunu drink for two made with flour.
Kunu drink can also be made with dry corn flour, millet flour,
guinea corn flour and flour from other edible grains. Millet kunu is good for even weight losers because 100g serving contains just about 300 calories and we know that even a 1.5 litre kunun cannot contain that quantity of millet. I used about 1/2 kg (3 cups millet flour, 1400 calories) for this kunu and it produced 6 Liters. You cannot drink 6 litres in a day na. The common method of making these Nigerian grain drinks is by soaking the corn, millet Etc in water over night to ferment a bit before milling and processing.
For those who do not always have that access to the mill and love to enjoy Nigerian drinks, you can, anytime. Shop your grains in large quantity, Mill and preserve the flour in airtight containers. These flour can be used for making millet foo foo swallow and also processing into delicious gingered drinks like kunu aya and the rest of those yummy drinks. Since I'm on a weight loss journey, I decided to eat foo foo swallow with the less calories, since Eba and pounded yam are very heavy and grains have less. I milled some millet and kept in airtight containers for my swallow and that's what I have been using for sometime now until my baby asked for kunu and I said to myself. "Why can't I make this kunu drink from the already milled flour at home?"
Thought of how to go about getting that little fermented taste of kunu and went to work. The result is this delicious kunu, tasting the exact same way we know and nutritious too. Henceforth, no need shopping grains everytime the kids want kunu drink. With my flour at home, chilled kunu drink will always be available. Kids love love to drink, they sometimes enjoy fluids more than solids and without these homemade drinks, they'll just be loading on sodas.

INGREDIENTS:
For this delicious easy kunu drink, I used the following ingredients:
3 cups millet flour
2 cups dried sweet potatoes (Shop professional measuring cups)
1 teaspoon clove
1 cup dried ginger
1 cup granulated sugar
Water
PROCEDURE FOR MAKING NIGERIAN DRINKS WITH DRY FLOUR
1. Soak the flour in water over night same way the grains are soaked. Make it watery because the flour tends to soak up more water as it stays in there.
2. Also soak the ingredients in a different container so they soften enough for your kitchen blender to handle since you not taking them to a mill.
3. The next day, blend the ingredients with your kitchen blender or food processor. (Shop food processor)
4. Take a little of the fermented flour and mix with the just blended ingredients, scoop a little and add to the fermented flour.
5. Empty the mixed fermented flour into a larger basin or pot.
4. Boil water and pour in there the way Nigerian pap is made, pour the boiling water until pap thickens and set aside.
Leave to cool a bit for about an hour before pouring in the blended kunu ingredients. Stir with a long wooden spoon and mix very well.
5. Sweeten if you want it sweeter for kids. Leave to cool properly before sieving with a cheese cloth, female panty hose, or any fine sieve that won't let in lumps.
6. Refrigerate and serve chill.
7. Enjoy your easy Nigerian kunu drink.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SUNDAY, 13TH MAY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ His Glory In You ✨

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one (John 17:22).

The Lord Jesus made the remarkable statement above in His prayer to the Father for us, and we know God heard Him. Thus, we have the glory of Jesus. This is so profound!

The Bible says Jesus Christ is the effulgence of the Father’s glory, the express image of His Person (Hebrews 1:3). That’s exactly what we are today, for the Bible says we’re created in His image and in His likeness. You were born to be the glory of God.

Colossians 1:27 says Christ in you, the hope of glory; that doesn’t mean the glory is coming because Christ is in you. Rather, it means the glory has come because Christ is in you. Blessed be God! 2 Corinthians 3:18 explains that as we look at the glory of God in a mirror, we’re metamorphosed into the same image that we see; and the image we see is the glory of God. So, not only do we have the glory in us, we’re the glory of God.

No wonder our heavenly Father is called “the Father of glory”; the Church is the glory of God. That reflection; that glory that you see when you look into the mirror—the Word—is who you really are!

The revelations communicated to us in the New Testament are the reflections of your identity and glory in Christ Jesus. So, keep looking into the mirror of God; keep studying and meditating on the Word, and as you do, you’ll be constantly transfigured from glory to glory.

Even now, rejoice and declare, “I am the glory of God. I exude and manifest righteousness, excellence, and perfection today and always; my life is one of ever-increasing glory. Hallelujah!”

CONFESSION

Christ is my life, my righteousness, and my all! He’s made me all that He is, and given me all that He has! Now, I rejoice, knowing that I’m the outshining of His glory, because I’m a sharer of His life and nature of righteousness; I’m His perfection of beauty. Blessed be God forever!

Further Study:

2 Corinthians 3:7-10 But if the ministration of death, written [and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which [glory] was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation [be] glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Emeka Okoro: "I Am Tempted To Cheat On My Wife Everyday'

Nollywood actor turned born again, Emeka Okoro, who is one of the few celebrities who abandoned acting for the pulpit, in an interview with Showtime celebrity talked about his conversion, acting career, marriage among others.

According to Emeka Okoro, Christ is happening in the Nigerian entertainment industry and you can't take that away. He went further to disclose that you can’t even resist it when God is interested in your case.

Here are excerpts from the interview below;

You’ve been away from the industry for a while, what have you been up to?

I have a media outfit that I’ve been running and at the same time I’ve been acting.  These days, the movies we make doesn’t really move except they are shown in the cinemas, but I’ve been acting.

You recently became born again like some of your colleagues. What do you think is responsible for Nollywood heavyweights abandoning their acting career to become pastors?

I think Christ is happening in the industry! And you can’t take it away, it’s like a crusade and God is doing it Himself. You can’t even resist it when God is interested in your case; if you don’t want to answer it, frustration comes your way until you answer the divine call.

How did you meet your wife?

We met on set! We became friends at first and along the line we noticed there was chemistry between us and we were connecting. So we became close and I proposed to her.

How have you been able to prevent your marriage from crashing like that of many  entertainers?

When you are on the solid rock, when you are in Christ, you don’t have anything to fear anymore. Christ is the base we are standing on and we don’t go outside that principle.

Have you been tempted to go out with another woman since you got married?
That is almost a daily thing and that is why I titled my new movie “Flee”, so you don’t stay there to fight the battle. You have to take off!

ADC: It Will Be Difficult For Obasanjo To Remove Buhari From Office – Tony Momoh
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-12-2018, 09:55 PM - No Replies

Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information has said it will be very difficult task for former President Olusegun Obasanjo to remove President Muhammadu Buhari from office in 2019 no matter how he tried.

Speaking in an interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Momoh, a national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also allayed the fears of Nigerians over the possibility of mistaking APC for ADC, which is the acronym of African Democratic Congress, the political platform adopted by Obasanjo’s Coalition of Nigerian Movement (CNM).

According to him, the acronym of both parties are different while their logos are also different from each other.

On Obasanjo’s quest to terminate Buhari’s reign by 2019, Momoh said the former president as a democrat will never get involved in a coup and in the eventuality of that, such a coup will not succeed as it will be resisted by well-meaning Nigerians.

“Obasanjo will not get involved in any coup and no coup in Nigeria that is resisted ever succeeded. So, how will he remove Buhari and put another person there? Will he call the Yorubas, Northerners, South Easterners and South South to vote against Buhari?”

“APC is different from APC and I don’t see them as a threat to our party. Everybody have their crowd. Do you think APC crowd will enter ADC? Both parties have their logo which is different from each other.

 Police furious over false information

Quote:Ismail Omipidan

Barely one year after his official guesthouse was raided based on false information, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has again survived another raid by the police.

Saturday Sun gathered the failed hunt list also had the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Philip Aduda.

It was further gathered that the raid was at the instance of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), working with a firm, Algaita Group.

The group is believed to be a consultant to the Office of the Honourable Attorney-General (AGF) of the Federation on whistleblowing and loot recovery.

In a letter to the AGF, Mr. Abubakar Malami, dated April 23, 2018, referenced ALG/ABJ/006, the Group Managing Director of Algaita Group, Mr. A.M Maiturare, claimed that “credible information at our disposal indicate that suspected stolen funds (were) stashed within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by some of our national leaders at their private residence, which are believed to be proceeds of fraud from the Federal Government of Nigeria”.

He also requested the AGF to “graciously extend the mandate of our letter…to cover the above mention(sic) stolen funds in order to trace, freeze and recover proceeds of crimes on behalf of the FGN”.

In another letter dated same April 23, 2018 addressed to the AGF, with reference number ALG/ABJ/007, Mr. Maiturare disclosed the details of the alleged owners of the looted funds as Senator Ike Ekweremadu, House D1, Nasiru Barau Close, Usman Nagogo Drive, Katampe Estate, Phase III, Abuja and Senator Philip Tenimu Aduda, plot 112 Ebitu Ukiwe Street, Jabi Abuja.

Mr. Maitature, who is also believed to be working with the Chairman of the SPIP, Mr. Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla and a whistleblower, Mr. Mohammed Waziri Ali, initiated a formal letter conveying AGF’s purported approval to the Chairman of the SPIP.

The letter, also dated April 23, 2018 with reference number ALG/CSIPFRPP/001 reads: “We have been engaged and authorised by The Hon. Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to proceed with the recovery of looted funds hidden within the FCT.

“In line with the foregoing, we humbly request your support and assistance towards the recovery of huge local and foreign currencies believed/suspected to be looted and hidden in houses/premises within the FCT.

“We, in furtherance of the position stated above, request for the support of the Panel to facilitate access and evacuation of the proceeds to the Central Bank of Nigeria as directed by the AGF.”

But sources and documents sighted by Saturday Sun indicate that Mr. Obono-Obla, directed the head of operations, Mr. Mohamed Abdul, an Assistant Superintendent of Police working with the Panel, to immediately swing into action to recover the allegedly stashed cash.

Armed with a Warrant of Search signed by Magistrate Taribo Z. Jim, dated April 25, 2018, the head of operations, along with his police team stormed the two properties.

It was however gathered that the Panel additionally secured the services of a native doctor, whom the whistleblower, claimed had the spiritual power to discover money anywhere it is hidden.

Investigations however revealed that the occupants of the said property at Katampe Estate told the heavily armed operatives that the building belonged to them, as they had nothing to do with Ekweremadu whom they only see on the television.

Not satisfied , the team forced its into the property, ransacked the entire property. The native doctor was said to have pointed at several points, which the manual labourers hired for the operation dug up, but to no avail. The native doctor also took them to the garden where they dug up several points, but nothing was found.

Following the disappointment, the search team could not proceed to the alleged property of Senator Aduda, who was on official trip with Senator Ekweremadu to the Moroccan Parliament at the time of the operation.

The angry police team arrested the native doctor as the whistleblower, Mr. Ali, had fled. Although Saturday Sun learnt that Ali was eventually arrested and was to be charged to court along with the native doctor for giving false information, it was learnt that the panel ordered their release so as not “to cause the government further embarrassment.”

Saturday Sun recalls that the Inspector-General of Police Special Squad had in May 2017 raided the official guesthouse of the Deputy Senate President in Maitama in search of alleged caches of money and arms, but their search yielded no result.

The police later arraigned one Mr. Ahmed Achoda before an Upper Court at Gudu District, Abuja, for alleged false information.

Ekweremadu is also currently in court with the Obono-Obla-led panel over allegations of undeclared assets. Ekweremadu had since denied any wrongdoing. He said the panel consists lawyers, who are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and out on political witch-hunt and smear campaign against him and the opposition ahead of 2019 general elections.

FG Removes 5 Top NECO Officials
User Avatar Forum: Education

By Laleye Dipo in Minna

The federal government has removed five top officials of the National Examination Council, NECO, investigations by THISDAY in Minna Niger state has revealed.

Those removed were served their letters on Thursday this week.
As at Friday all the officials were absent from their desks with new people taking over their positions in acting capacities.

When THISDAY visited the headquarters of the Council on Friday, it was discovered that the issue of the removal of the officials were being discussed in hushed tones by other staffers of the Council.

None of the staff was prepared to volunteer information to the press on the matter.

It was also discovered that some directors in the council were in a meeting with one of those appointed in acting capacity but no official statement was released after the meeting.

We learnt that only two weeks ago, the governing council led by its chairman Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq visited the Council during which he looked intop the operations of the Council.

The removal of the officials it was gathered, may not be unconnected to the report submitted by the governing council to the Federal Ministry of Education.

THISDAY however gathered that three reasons were being adduced for the removal of the officials, top officials among them, unilateral award of contracts without passing through due process.

It was also gathered that the officials illegally recruited over 300 staff without advertising the vacancies and clearance from the relevant ministry.

THISDAY further gathered that some of those removed were being investigated for alleged corruption running into several millions of naira.

Before their removal, a top source who didn’t want his name in print said some of the officials had been visiting the Abuja office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for investigation into alleged crime.

Ultimatum From Ex-pdp Chiefs: Buhari’s Men Await Next Move From Saraki, Tambuwal
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-12-2018, 01:13 PM - No Replies

Strategists of President Muhammadu Buhari are awaiting the next line of action from leaders of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), following an ultimatum the latter issued to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a meeting.

In a four-page letter the defunct nPDP leaders addressed to the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, dated April 27, 2018, they alleged that their members had been relegated to the background in the APC in spite of their contributions to the success of the party.

But despite the seven-day ultimatum, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Odigie-Oyegun and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are yet to meet on the protest letter.

There were indications that the party leadership was tactically awaiting the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, the leader of the party, before taking a decision.

But some Buhari’s strategists who spoke with our correspondent last night said they were not “losing sleep” over the ultimatum, adding that it was anticipated and they had guarded against it.

They are only awaiting the next step of the nPDP leaders after the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum for counter-response.

Investigation conducted by our correspondent revealed that the party is overwhelmed with activities, including the governorship primary in Ekiti State, the conduct of local government congresses, state congresses and the forthcoming national convention.

It was learnt that managing the aftermath of the Ward Congresses in some states had been herculean for the party which is trying to ensure peace and reconciliation among its members.

A member of the NWC said the leadership of the party might not discuss and respond to the nPDP letter in isolation.

“Apart from being busy, the issues raised in the letter are weighty and all other organs might have to be involved,” the source said.

Another party source, however, said: “The party appears to be tactically awaiting the return of the President because most of the issues raised border on the disposition of the Presidency.

“You cannot get a letter and go to town with a response without hearing from the other side. With feedback from the President, the party will be in a good stead to lay the cards on the table.

“Even on the eve of the President’s departure to the United Kingdom, he had audience with some of the key leaders of nPDP who joined hands to form the APC coalition.

“No one knew whether or not the April 27 letter came up for discussion.”

When contacted, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi, simply said: “The party has not had the opportunity to discuss the letter.”

A source in Buhari’s camp, who spoke in confidence, said: “We are not losing sleep over the ultimatum, because we know their ultimate target is exit from APC. We had anticipated it long time ago and we have our plans on how to curtail them.

“The letter was just the first stage of a pre-planned agenda to embarrass APC and President Buhari.

“They have lined up more activities before they finally defect. We got all the intelligence report long before hand.

“On the alleged side-lining of the nPDP members, we will respond with appropriate statistics at the right time. The letter was misleading and inaccurate.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “Unlike in 2014, the political dynamics are different this time around because Buhari is a covert strategist.”

A leader of the nPDP said: “We cannot talk of the next step now until Buhari comes back to the country. We want his reaction to our notes too.

“His body language will determine our next move, which is being jealously kept.”

The nPDP leaders lodged their protest in a letter dated April 27, 2018 which was delivered to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja yesterday.

The letter was signed by a former National Chairman (nPDP), Alh. Abubakar Kawu Baraje and ex- National Secretary (nPDP) Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Those copied include President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

In the said letter, they listed seven grievances on why the coalition which led to the birth of APC was not working.

They include lack of concession of any position to nPDP in power sharing; no significant patronage and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies; fewer appointments of nPDP members into boards of various government agencies; opposition to the emergence of the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives; general lack of consultation, non-recognition and even persecution of former New PDP members and leaders; and harassment, intimidation and persecution of former New PDP leaders by the government.

Dad of man murdered over NaijaBet winnings begs police

28-year old Achuku Vincent Joseph of Sabo Pegi area in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was gruesomely murdered after he allegedly won N7.4 million on the NaijaBet betting platform. .

According to a report by Dailytrust, the father of the deceased, Aruma, revealed that Achuku’s corpse was discovered in the early hours of Saturday, April 15, abandoned by the roadside at Federal University Lafia, with several machete cuts.

Accordingly him: “On Tuesday, around 5am, my son came into my room and told me that thieves were in our house in the night and they entered his room to steal his plasma TV and a NaijaBet ticket slip with which he won N7.4m. .

Later, some of his friends came into the house, shouting that they would not agree because the NaijaBet agent knows about those who stole the winning ticket. Later in the day, my son started screaming, complaining of severe headache. .

After a while, he started behaving abnormally, saying they wanted to kill him. His condition later worsened as he could no longer talk. We took him to the hospital and he was admitted. Moments later, his friends showed up again. .

They revealed that he had been given a charm and that they had warned him not to stay without the charm. A pastor was invited to pray for him after we discovered the charm in his pocket. .

My sister insisted we keep him away from his friends by relocating him from the place since we were not sure where his problem was from. They still used diabolic means to trace him which worsened his condition.” .

He noted that Achuku went out as early as 5am on the day he was killed without the knowledge of anyone and he suspects that he was lured out of the house through some kind of spiritual means, only for the family to find him dead later. .

Aruma said, “I suspect both his friends and the NaijaBet agent for this ungodly act. My appeal to security agents is to investigate and unveil those responsible for the killing.” .

The Nasarawa State Command’s PRO, Idrisu Kennedy, revealed that the command has arrested some people in connection with the killing, adding that the matter is being investigated.

My Wife Was Sexually Battered By Alfas While Seeking For Love Charms; Husband
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 05-12-2018, 01:07 PM - No Replies

Quote:A 31-year-old man, Kehinde Oludayo, on Friday told an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi, Ibadan, that his wife, Jumoke, 26, was sexually battered while seeking for love charms from spiritualists.

Mr Oludayo made this known when he testified in the petition brought by his wife seeking dissolution of their seven year marriage for alleged brutality and lack of care.

He told the court that his wife fell into the hands of fraudsters while seeking for love charms from Alfas but was sexually battered.

The father of two accused his wife of infidelity and lack of respect for him as her husband.

He told the court that his wife never obeyed his instruction, saying her curiosity for miracles led her to fall into the hands of some fraudsters that assaulted her sexually.

”My lord, she didn’t recognise me as her husband because she lives a carefree life.

”In her search for love charms from some fraudsters that pretended to be ‘Alfas’ made her to fall prey and she was gang raped.

”Though she opened up to me and pleaded for forgiveness but her attitude didn’t change after the shameful experience.” he said

The respondent denied the allegation of brutality and that he tried his best in performing his responsibility as a husband and father of the two kids of the union.

He alleged that her mother-in-law pushed his wife to divorce him, saying his in-laws hate him.

He, however, pleaded with the court to resolve the issue instead of dissolving the marriage, saying he still loves his wife despite what she did.

Earlier, Jumoke, had told the court that her husband turned her into a punching bag and always threatened her life.

She described her seven-year-old union with the respondent as a calamity, saying she was tired of constant beatings.

She further said that Oludayo never care for the upkeep of the kids nor treat her with love.

She, however, was silent on the allegation of been sexually assaulted, and gang raped, but insisted that the court should dissolve the marriage.

Jumoke threatened to kill herself if the court fail to grant her request.

The President of the court, Mukaila Balogun, said that evidence of both parties especially that of the petitioner, had proved that there was no more love between them.

Mr Balogun noted that the rampant cases of domestic violence which had led to “wife killing husband and husband killing wife was enough to uphold the request of the petitioner.

“Though, the court prioritise resolution of marriage disputes but is handicapped in some instances.

“The marriage is therefore dissolved and custody of the two kids is given to the petitioner.

“The respondent is ordered to pay N7,000 monthly for the upkeep of the children and should be responsible for the education of the children.”

Senate Can’t Summon IGP - Falana
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-12-2018, 01:05 PM - No Replies

Quote:Mr Femi Falana (SAN) has said the Senate got it wrong when it asked the President, or the Inspector General of Police to appear before it.

He said this when he appeared as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, on Thursday.

Falana quoted sections of the Constitution to explain that the President or the governor of a state cannot be summoned by the National Assembly.

He said, “There is no such power given to NASS by the Constitution to summon everybody.

“It has given the President the discretion to address the National Assembly either jointly or separately on any matter of national importance.”

“The Senate didn’t get it right this time around. By virtue of Section 67 of the Constitution, the National Assembly or either chamber can summon a Minister when the affairs of his or her ministries are under consideration.

“The only other occasion where a public officer can be summoned by the National Assembly is when proceedings are ongoing to expose corruption (Section 88) and when a law is being debated either with a view to amending it or to have a new law entirely.”

However, the senior advocate stated that the lawmakers can fix areas of the Constitution perceived as weak, rather than going beyond its limits as such actions can subject the institution to ridicule.

I Just Went For Medical Check-up, I Am Alright – Buhari
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 05-12-2018, 12:51 PM - Replies (21)

President Muhammadu Buhari on his arrival at the airport in Abuja today said he is in good condition.

The President’s aircraft touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja on Friday by 7:00 pm after a three-day medical trip to London, United Kingdom.

When asked on by journalists why he arrived on Friday after his schedule of returning on Saturday, the President said his arrival is not earlier than expected.

“It is not earlier than expected. I just went for a further medical check-up and I am alright, thank you,” President Buhari said.

In a tweet announcing his departure, President Buhari on Monday said, “I will be travelling to the United Kingdom tomorrow, to see my doctor, at his request. Will be away for four days; back in Abuja on Saturday, May 12.”

His Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had said the President would return on Saturday but he returned back to the country a day earlier.

Using his official Twitter handle @MBuhari, the President also announced his returned to the country.

“President is back in Abuja. He arrived this evening from London,” the presidency wrote on its Twitter account.

Buhari, who last year spent some five months receiving treatment in the British capital, had left on Tuesday to see his doctor.

The move stoked fresh doubts about the president’s health and his ability to campaign for re-election at polls scheduled for February next year.

The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said Buhari was clearly unwell and unfit to govern.

The PDP has previously claimed he was being treated for prostate cancer. Buhari has said those claims were untrue.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, also criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for embarking on a medical trip to the United Kingdom.

He said on Channels Television’s Programme, Sunrise Daily on Thursday that the President and other Nigerians who travel abroad for medical attention are ridiculing the nation.

“These medical trips by the President and the rich in Nigeria expose our country to ridicule because you cannot justify that a little of enormous resources cannot fix a few hospitals to the extent that everybody can be treated in Nigeria,” Falana said.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 12TH MAY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ Your True Image ✨

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, God’s own purchased, special people that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections, of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9 AMPC).

It’s clear from our opening verse who we are and what God wants us to do: we’re the manifestation of His glory and the express image of His person. We’re His trophies, on display for the world to see. We display His virtues and perfections.

It’s important that you see yourself the way God sees you; the way the Word describes you, and not the way others see you or the way you see yourself. It’ll make your faith effective. Sometimes, you may look at your life and think you’re really not what God says you are, but that’s because you’re focusing on the wrong thing. Take the focus off yourself; focus on the Word. Meditate on what the Word says about you; your true value, limitless potentials, and glory in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” As you behold the glory of God in the Word (the mirror of God), you’re transfigured into the same image that you see in the Word.

The more you look at the Word, the more you know who you are. The only way you can know what your spirit is like, is to look into the Word. The Word mirrors your true image! Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Blessed Father, thank you for your glorious Word that mirrors my true image. As I meditate on your Word, my life is transformed, and your glory is ever increasing in and through me, impacting everything and everyone around me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Alleged N3.2bn Fraud: EFCC Closes Case Against Kalu
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-11-2018, 10:41 PM - No Replies

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Friday closed its case against a former Governor of Abia, Orji Kalu and two others charged with N3.2 billion fraud.

The EFCC Prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), announced closure of the prosecution’s case at the Federal High Court, Lagos. He, however, informed the court that the prosecution intended to amend the charge against the accused to reflect more evidence.

The EFCC had on Oct. 31, 2016, slammed a 34-count charge bordering on N3.2 billion fraud against Kalu, his former Commissioner for Finance, Ude Udeogo, and Slok Nigeria Ltd. The accused had pleaded not guilty to the charge and were granted bails.

Jacobs had led the 17th prosecution witness, Chidi Chukwuka, in evidence at the last adjournment.

At the resumed trial of the case on Friday, Kalu’s counsel, Mr Awa Kalu (SAN), continued the cross-examination of the witness. Chukwuka had earlier told the court that he was a Deputy Director in the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and an investigator with the EFCC as at the time of the alleged fraud.

He said during his investigations, he had obtained statements from Mr Samuel Iheke, a former Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

He said he also obtained statements from Mr Chinedum Elechi, the then Secretary, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Abia.

Awa applied to tender the statements the witness had identified and same were admitted and marked as Exhibits Z to Z9 respectively. When the witness was asked what the state officials had told him was the reason for the N26 million monthly withdrawals from the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) account of the state, the witness replied: “The officials had claimed that the withdrawals were used for sanitation in Abia State.”

He testified that over N2.5 billion was transferred from the Abia Government House main account to Abia State University and Secondary Education Management Board accounts.

Counsel to the second accused, Mr Solo Akuma (SAN), asked if the witness was fully involved in the investigation to which he responded in the affirmative.

Akuma : By count 24 of the charge preferred by the EFCC against the accused, is it correct to say that the N554 million came in various cheques?

Witness : I don’t know, He said the EFCC did not investigate the accused before the petition from Eyinnaya Abaribe.

Mr Kingsley Nwofo (SAN), counsel to Slok Nigerai Ltd., asked the witness if any of the statements had shown funds move from the Government House accounts to the third accused (Slok), he responded in the negative.

There was no re-examination and the witness was discharged.

Justice Mohammed Idris adjourned the case until May 30 and May 31 for defence to open their case.

The EFCC alleged that Kalu and the others committed the offences between August 2001 and October 2005.

The commission accused Kalu of utilising his company, Slok Nigerai Ltd., to retain N200 million in the account of First Inland Bank ( acquired by First City Monument Bank, FCMB).

It said the sum formed part of funds illegally derived from the coffers of the state government.

The commission also said that the accused had in different bank accounts about N2.5 billion belonging to Abia and diverted about N3.2 billion from the coffers of the government.

The offences contravened sections 15(6), 16, and 21 of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2005 and the Money Laundering Act of 1995 (as amended by Act No.9 of 2002 and Section 477 of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 1990.

Pastor Divorces Wife Of 21 Years For Sleeping With A Deacon And A Bishop
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 05-11-2018, 10:36 PM - No Replies

A pastor’s wife, Mrs. Uzoamaka Ibeneme, on Friday, lost her 21-year-old marriage, when an Igando Customary Court in Lagos, dissolved the union on grounds of adultery.

Mr. Akin Akinniyi, the court president, who delivered the judgment, said the petitioner, Pastor Joshua Ibeneme was adamant in spite of the mediation by the court and family intervention.

“Since the petitioner insisted on divorce after several interventions, the court is, therefore, left with no option but to grant him his wish and pronounce the union dissolved.

“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Pastor Joshua Ibeneme and Mrs. Uzoamaka Ibeneme dissolved today.

“Both of you will henceforth cease to be husband and wife, each of you should go on his or her separate ways unmolested.

“The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavour.

“Any squabble between both you from now on shall be treated as criminal and any violation of this judgment will be regarded as contempt of court and will attract imprisonment without an option of fine,” Akinniyi ruled.

Earlier, the petitioner, a 53-year-old pastor, Joshua Ibeneme, had approached the court to end his 21-year marriage to his wife, Uzoamaka, who he said, was messing around with his church members.

“My wife had sexual affair with two of my church members, a deacon and a bishop. Both of them were telling my other members that they slept with my wife because she enticed them.

“Whenever I return from a trip, my last born always tells me that men came to pick and drop my wife. Even God told me to divorce her else she will destroy my ministry,” he claimed.

The petitioner said that his wife denied him sex for five years.

“My wife starved me of sex for more than five years; whenever I want to sleep with her, she would give one excuse or the other and in fact, she has moved out of my room to a separate room.

“But she gives it to my members freely,” the pastor said.

The pastor said that his wife was always mocking and embarrassing him in public places, telling people about his sexual.

I Paid Evans 223,000 Euros As Ransom – Witness Tells Court
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 05-11-2018, 10:27 PM - No Replies

A prosecution witness and Manager of Maydon Pharmaceutical company, Uchenna Okeagwu, has narrated how he paid billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, 223,000 euros as ransom for his boss, Donatus Duru.

Okeagwu made the disclosure while testifying before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, on Friday.

Led in evidence by the Director of Public Prosecution, Titilayo Shitta-Bey, Okeagwu said, “I am a manager at Maydon pharmaceutical company and have been working with them for over seven years. After we heard of the kidnap of Duru, we waited to hear from the kidnappers so we will know what to do to rescue him.

“As the manager of the Idumota branch, we worked towards raising money for the kidnappers when they asked for ransom. After about two months, I was called by Anselm Duru, Donatus brother to come and deliver the money to the kidnappers that they have raised 223,000 Euros.

“After counting the money, we put it in a polythene bag and wrapped it very well with sellotape and I went with the money. Anselm gave me his telephone that they would use it to direct me to where I would take the ransom to.

“I started receiving calls with the phone from the kidnappers saying I should make no mistakes that if I do, I would be shot. I was asked if I know the way towards mile 2 and I said yes, I went with the money inside the vehicle, putting the money under the passengers’ seat in the front and I moved out of the compound towards mile 2.”

I Fall Sick Due To Lack Of Sex In My Marriage – Woman

Woman starved sex for two years divorces husband

Quote:The five - year marriage between a 35 - year - old trader , Bilikisu Azeez and her husband, Olusesi, was on Friday dissolved by an Igando Customary Court in Lagos on the grounds of sex - starvation .

Bilikisu had told the court that her husband, Olusesi, starved her of sex for more than two years, a development which , she said , had affected her health.

“ My husband has been starving me of sex since he married his youngest wife ; he has turned me to an abandoned property.

“I have been falling sick in and out of the hospital , during my last visit to the hospital , I was told that it was because I have not had sex for long that is why I experience frequent sickness . ”

She also accused her husband of not caring for her and the only child of the marriage , saying “my husband does not take care of me , I feed and clothe myself .

“ He refused to enroll our only child , who is over four years old in school and has failed to pay his medical bills ; I always run to my mother for the hospital bill . ”

Bilikisu , who also accused her husband of battery , said he had beaten her publicly which resulted in her fainting.

According to her , the trouble started when her husband brought in a third wife .

She continued : “ There was joy , love, and peace in the house until he came with another wife , who has been fighting me also. ”

She urged the court to dissolve the union so that she can move on with her life .

Olusesi , in his response to the allegations, accepted that he starved the woman of sex.
“She once denied me of sex and since then I abandoned her .

“ Yes , I starved her of sex, it is tit for that because there was a day I entered her room to sleep with her and she left the bed to sleep on the floor .

“ I made an attempt eight times to sleep with her , but she refused . So since that day, I just put her aside after all she is not the only wife I have , ” he told the court.

The 45 - year - old building contractor also consented to the dissolution of the marriage , saying he too was no longer interested in the marriage .

The court president , Mr. Akin Akinniyi , while delivering the judgment said that it appeared that the estranged couple was tired of the marriage as all efforts to reconcile them had failed .

“ Since both parties consented to the dissolution of their marriage , this court has no choice than to dissolve the marriage .

“ The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mrs . Bilikisu Azeez and Mr. Olusesi Azeez dissolved today .

“ Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife , each of you should go on his or her separate ways unmolested .

“ The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavour . Any squabble between both of you from now on shall be treated as criminal .

“ Any violation of this judgment will be regarded as contempt of court and will attract imprisonment without an option of fine , ” Akinniyi ruled .

Governor El-rufai has cited some Quranic verses why he cursed Senator Shehu Sani and others. He took to Facebook to share the news and wrote...

''FRIDAY REMINDER: To the Cursed Kaduna Senators, the Enemies of the people of Kaduna State and their co-travelers - the Words of Allah: - Surah Al-Baqarah (2:9-12)
2:9 “They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.
2:10 “In their hearts is disease (of doubt, hypocrisy, arrogance and disbelief), so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.
2:11 “And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers.
2:12 “Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive (it) not.”

See how people reacted.Does it mean that Kaduna people have lost faith in him?

Nigeria Is On Course To Tackle Poverty, Unemployment – Osinbajo
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-11-2018, 06:43 PM - No Replies

Quote:Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the country is on course to effectively tackle poverty and unemployment through its micro-economic planning and Social Investment Programmes.

Osinbajo said this on Thursday when a delegation of senior officials from the World Bank, led by the World Bank Group Executive Director for Italy, Mr Patrizio Pagano, visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The group of 10 Executive Directors, on a working visit to Nigeria represents 93 countries from across Africa, Asia, Central America and Europe.

The Vice President further said the Buhari administration was determined to tackle corruption to bring economic prosperity for Nigeria.

“There is a tendency to assume that if we get just a number of things right in our micro-economic planning, for instance, to promote trade and so on, we would be able to deal with the issues of poverty through a trickle down policy.

“”But unfortunately, here, this is not necessarily the case. We might get the micro issues right and still have the problems, especially of poverty.

“In terms of systematic policy, you have to keep innovating, looking for what works, tweaking it here and there.

““Also, if you don’t deal with issues around corruption, it becomes difficult. If we allow resources to be pilfered and wasted, then the whole idea of economic prosperity is difficult.

“”So we have programmes and initiatives in place that promote accountability, like Treasury Single Account (TSA), and other policies,” the Vice President added.

Osinbajo said that the Buhari administration’s Social Investment Programmes were targeted at ensuring inclusion and taking millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

“So, the question for us is how to ensure inclusion or inclusivity, how to get millions of our very poor people into the economy, how to structure our budget in such a way that recognises that.

“”That is why we set up the N500 billion Social Investment Programmes.

“”Though we are not spending anything near that yet, it is an important statement for us to address the question of inclusivity,’’ he stated..

On Nigeria’s role in West Africa, the Vice President noted that, “Nigeria is very involved in the region in the areas of security.

“”We promote regional cooperation and we also try to address issues of dumping, and the smuggling of rice and poultry products.”

Osinbajo highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in the area of trade adding that he met with the President of Benin recently in Togo, where they discussed ways in which Nigeria and its neighbours could effectively resolve the issue of smuggling.

The World Bank Director, Mr Patrizio Pagano, commended the Federal Government for its economic reforms, adding that the Bank would fully support the country in achieving sustainable growth.(NAN)

A 54-year-old Zim man, identified as Tichaona Shoko has been instructed to make reparation of 20 cows after he admitted to using black magic (charms) to lure and impregnate in the process 3 women.

iHarare reports the accused carried out the act in his home at the Makugwe Village, under Chief Nyamhondo in Mberengwa.
The online media added the victims aged 36, 39 and 42 were all married women.
This was revealed after visiting a tsikamutanda where Shoko confessed before the traditional court that he was indeed having sexual intercourse with the three married women using a love charm which made him go for married women.
The matter was then presided by Chief Nyamhondo who ordered him to pay 20 cows, of which each man whose wife was impregnated will get six cows while the other two will be for cleansing the village.
It is reported that Shoko was remorseful before the charm was burnt, and he claims to take care of his children.
