Teairra Mari Sex Tape Appears On Instagram: Is She a Victim of Revenge Porn?

Teairra Mari Sex Tape Appears On Instagram: Is She a Victim of Revenge Porn?
As a singer, actress, and former star of both Love & Hip-Hop: New York and Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood, Teairra Mari has developed quite an impressive resume.
Unfortunately, it wasn't her professional achievements that made her a trending topic on Twitter today.

Mari's Instagram followers were stunned this afternoon when a number of very explicit video and several intimate photos appeared on her page.[/url]

The content was quickly deleted, but sadly, the damage had already been done.

Several media outlets reposted the images and video, and as of this writing, more than 15,000 people have tweeted about the situation.

Sadly, Mari's story is one we see all too often these days.

Yes, it seems that like Blac Chyna and so many others before her, the 30-year-old was victimized as part of jealous ex's quest for revenge.

The alleged culprit is Mari's former boyfriend Akbar Abdul.

Though Mari did not call Abdul out by name, she did post a lengthy statement to Instagram indicating that she has identified the person who hacked into her account.

The statement reads as follows:

"Recently, my social media was compromised by someone who I thought was deserving of my love and trust.

"That person proved to be untrustworthy and posted footage of what in the moment was private and sacred.

"Moving forward, I recognize the need to be more private and discerning.

[Image: teairra-mari-pic.jpg][url=https://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/gallery/teairra-mari-pic/]

"My hope is for women to remain strong and dignified when they find themselves having to address hateful and juvenile by former lovers who find it difficult to act in an adult manner."

Mari added:

"Revenge Porn is a crime in California and I will be in pursuit of justice."

Prior to her relationship with Akbar, Mari dated Ray J, the singer perhaps best known for his relationship with Kim Kardashian.

Clearly, if Abdul believed he was going to become a famous sex tape star in his own right, he was sorely mistaken.

Here's hoping justice is served swiftly.

Chris Brown Sued for Alleged Rape at His House

Chris Brown Sued for Alleged Rape at His House
Chris Brown is once again in trouble with the law.
The often-violent singer has been sued by a home who claims she was the victim of a sexual assault at Brown's house, alleging that was forced to perform oral sex on a woman who was menstruating.
She also says a friend of Brown's raped her twice.

The woman, who has hired Glorida Allred as her attorney, has filed these legal documents under the name Jane Doe.[/url]

She claims she attended a party at Brown's mansion on February of 2017 at which cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana were readily available.

In official papers obtained by TMZ, the woman explains that an unnamed female friend of the artist's forced her and a few other women into a bedroom.

This friend then blocked the door with a couch.

The instigator proceeded to force women to hook up with Brown and another man, named Lowell Grissom.

Doe adds that her cell phone was taken away from her upon arrival at the gathering.

The woman details how she attempted to leave the situation, only for Brown's female friend to grab her by the throat and make her give Grissom a blow job.

Doe adds that this same female friend then pushed her down on the bed and "literally sat on [her] face, using her legs to pin [her] down while forcing [her] to perform oral sex on her."

It gets more disgusting from there, allegedly:

Doe says the woman was menstruating.

She says in the lawsuit that she went to the bathroom after this unwanted sex act and saw her face covered in blood.

While she was showering, Grissom came in, shoved her on the bed and raped her.

During a news conference on Wednesday, Allred said this was "one of the most horrific sexual assault cases" she has ever seen.

According to the lawsuit, Grissom later held Doe against a washing machine and raped her a second time that evening.

She says she went to a rape treatment center and reported it to police, but the police have said they could not determine whether these sex acts were consensual or not.

As a result, they did not pursue charges.

Attorney Mark Geragos tells TMZ that Allred is demanding $17 million in the lawsuit, which  Geragos says is ridiculous.

He says the allegations are not true and that Brown is innocent.

The singer, of course, managed to avoid jail time even after [url=https://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2009/08/chris-brown-assault-rihanna-details-domestic-violence-history-past/]punching Rihanna in the face many times back in 2009.

He has since been accused of domestic violence and seems to have a serious problem with his temper, as well as with his ego.

But, hey, the guy can dance really well and he makes catchy music, so millions of fans don't apparently care about this other stuff.

Zambian Stanbic Bank Staff Sentenced To Prison For Stealing Bank’s Money
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

GIST FROM WAKABOBO.COM

Ms. Sandra Thindwa was found guilty at the Choma Magistrates Court in Choma, Zambia by Principle Resident Magistrate Exnobert Zulu, on a two-count charge of theft by servant, and money laundering.

Byta FM in Choma reports that on dates unknown but between 31st December, 2015 and 29th January, 2016, Sandra Nthindwa of Choma in count one jointly and whilst acting together with persons unknown stole Thirty three thousand Nine Hundred and twenty eight Kwacha Twenty ngwee (K33, 928.20).

The money came into her possession by virtue of being employed by Stanbic Bank, Choma Branch.

In Count two, she was accused of Money laundering of the same amount by means of false accounting transactions.

The State called 11 witnesses who testified on oath, with the first being Munalula Kusowa from Stanbic Head Office who testified to receiving a complaint from Zambeef Choma through the Stanbic Choma Branch Manager that the amount in question was not credited in the account after a deposit was made by Euclife Chaaba, an Amarguard officer but now deceased.

And in the course of the investigation, Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Senior Investigations Officer Mwansa Sibongile testified that the bank’s CCTV footage was deleted as the system is on auto delete after 90 days. She also discovered that the accused even engaged herself in a boutique business.

But in defense, Nthindwa testified that at close of business on the material day, everything balanced and the Bank Custodian signed.

However, in the court’s findings, it was established that the transaction was not indicating on the Teller log and Account statement but only on two hand written deposit slips given to the Depositor.
The Court said if the money was “swallowed” by the suspense account, a shortage would have arisen but it balanced because the paper work was done fraudulently and the cash was not presented to the Bank Custodian.

In mitigation Counsel W.F Cheelo from KBF and Partners asked the Court to exercise lenience stating that the convict is a mother who has lost her job and will bear the tag of being a convicted person forever.

In passing sentence, Principle Resident Magistrate Exnobert Zulu considered the fact that Nthindwa is a first offender but the offence committed has become so rampant countrywide.

He said her actions portrayed greed which may affect the trust between the two organisations.

He therefore sentenced her to four years simple imprisonment in count one and acquitted her for money laundering.

Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola Resigns From APC, Dumps Party

Quote:After months of waiting game, the former Governor of Osun State and Acting Coordinator of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM), Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oyinlola was the National Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), one of the blocks in the APC during the 2015 general elections. He was once the PDP National Secretary.

Oyinlola, who is the Chairman of the Board of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), announced his resignation through a letter addressed to the Chairman of APC in Ward 1, Okuku, Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.

The former APC stalwart, whose letter was dated Wednesday, May 9, 2018, said he was leaving the party due to his current politics including his coordination of the CNM.

“My resignation from the APC, therefore, is to enable me contribute more meaningfully to ongoing efforts at repositioning the politics of Nigeria for the good of the Nigerian people,” he said.

Oyinlola had indicated his intention to leave APC at the formal launch of CNM when he spoke about the perceived conflict of interest between his new task and his chairmanship of NIMC board.

Oyinlola had said the both the APC and the PDP have failed and have not been able to meet the aspirations of Nigerians, noting that CNM would mobilise young Nigerians to take over power from the ruling party.

The former governor: “We are trying to be like guardian angels; it is you that must decide who is to do what and at what level. That is why we are having this meeting today and putting it back to you.”

Ebola Fear: Nigeria’s Airports, Borders Under Surveillance
User Avatar Forum: Travel/Aviation
Posted by: Edoman - 05-10-2018, 09:53 AM - No Replies

To keep Nigerians safe from deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday has ordered the Federal Ministry of Health to set up surveillance activities in the country.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, stated this when he briefed State House correspondents at the end of the council’s meeting chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The minister said the council’s directive followed the reported reemergence of the disease in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

He stated the council had ordered that steps must be taken to keep the Ebola outbreak away from Nigeria, saying that part of the new measures to be taken would include a screening of all travelers entering Nigeria.

“Of course of great concern to the Federal Executive Council is the outbreak of Ebola in DR Congo.

“As you might be aware, over the last one month, DRC recorded 19 suspected cases of viral hemorrhagic fever and lost 16 of the cases.

“But what is also particularly important was that on Monday, blood samples from five patients in the DRC, particularly in a particular district in DRC, two of the five cases, Ebola was actually confirmed.

“And, FEC has now directed the federal ministry of health to step up emergency surveillance activities at all land and airport borders, so that we can actually keep Nigerians safe.

“What we will do is to set up an emergency operation center which will be chaired by Dr. Babasanya, who actually led our efforts in Liberia and Sierra Leone and Guinea during the outbreak in 2014.

“Not only that, we will be screening incoming passengers, particularly passengers from DRC and neighboring countries.

“We will also ensure we step up all activities, screening people coming in so that we will not be caught unawares,’’ he said

Based on him, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) will also consider sending some team to DRC as part of building capacity for managing the outbreak.[/b]

"I Don’t Owe Senate Any Apology" - IGP Idris
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 05-10-2018, 09:47 AM - No Replies

Quote:Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, says the force he leads does not owe any individual or group any apology in discharging its duties.

He said this while responding to the comments made by senators over his refusal to honour the invitation of the senate.

Idris has refused to appear before the senate on three different occasions.

He had been summoned over the growing insecurity in the country and the case of Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west.

Melaye is currently in custody of the police.

The first time the IGP was invited to appear before the senators, he accompanied President Muhammadu Buhari to Bauchi state but sent representatives who were rejected by the lawmakers.

The second time, the IGP said he went to Birin Gwari, Kaduna state, on a working visit.

When he failed to show up on Wednesday, the senate went into a closed door session after which Senate President Bukola Saraki said Idris had been declared an enemy of democracy.

But responding on Wednesday night, the IGP accused the lawmakers of attempting to witch-hunt him, vowing not to be intimidated.

He asked the public to disregard the statement of the senate and promised to continue to discharge his duties to the best of his ability.

Idris accused the legislators of trying to blackmail him because of the case of Melaye.

Idris spoke in a statement issued on his behalf by Jimoh Moshood, spokesman of the police.

Below is the statement:

The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to the media reportage of the Senate’s resolution on Senate Order Paper of today, Wednesday, 9th May, 2018 after a closed door session that the “Senate declares the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim k. Idris, NPM, mni, as enemy of democracy and unfit to hold any public office within and outside the country”.

It is urgently imperative that the Nigeria Police Force respond to this resolution of the Senate which is a deliberate blackmail, witch-hunting, unfortunate and mischievous.

In accordance with the extant laws in Nigeria, the functions, duties and responsibilities of the Inspector General of Police as stated in Section 215(1a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, and the Police Act and Regulations Section 309(1) can also be carried out as mentioned in sections 7(1),312(1), 313(2) of the Police Act and Regulations by a senior officer of the Force of the Rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police or an Assistant Inspector General of Police who if permitted by the Inspector General of Police to act on his behalf or represent him in an official capacity at any official function, event or programme within and outside Nigeria can do so in consonant with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.

It is on the basis of the above that when on the 25th of April, 2018, the Senate invited the Inspector-General of Police to appear before it on the 26thof April 2018, in respect of the felonious offenses for which Sen. Dino Melaye was taken into Police custody, investigated and arraigned in a Court of Competent Jurisdiction in Lokoja, but because the Inspector-General of Police was on official assignment with the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria to Bauchi on same date, he delegated the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Operations, Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police and some Commissioners of Police conversant with the matter to brief the Senate.

The delegated Officers went with a brief of the Inspector-General of Police on the matter to the Senate to enable the Senate appreciate the issues raised to guide their resolutions on the matter but the Senate refused to listen to the Officers delegated by the Inspector-General of Police in line with his powers recognized by both the Constitution and the Police Act and Regulations.

The Senate again on the 26th of April 2018 wrote the Inspector-General of Police re-inviting him to appear before the Senate in person on the 2nd of May, 2018 but this time around the IGP was on official assignment to Birnin-Gwari Area of Kaduna State in company of the General Officer Commanding, One Division, Nigerian Army Kaduna, Major General Mohammed Mohammed to attend to some very serious security matters of National Importance, but he promptly delegated the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Research and Planning, Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Commissioners of Police to represent him and brief the Senate on the same subject matter but the Senate again refused to accord them audience insisting that the Inspector-General of Police must appear in person.

On the 8th of May, 2018, the Inspector General of Police sent a letter to the President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria signed by the Commissioner of Police, Legal and Prosecution Department, explaining why he would not be appearing before the Senate on the 9th of May, 2018 due to legal restraint as a result of pending cases before the courts filed: (i) by Senator Dino Melaye against the IGP and the Nigeria Police Force in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja in suit No. CV/1610/18 slated for hearing on the 11th day of May, 2018.

(ii) by the Inspector General of Police against the Senate in the Federal High Court, Abuja in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/457/2018 adjourned to 31st May, 2018 for hearing.

It is on record that consequent on the confession of criminal offences indicting Senator Dino Melaye by the principal suspect KABIRU SAIDU a.k.a OSAMA “31 YRS”, The Nigeria Police Force, sent a letter of investigation activities/invitation dated 2ndMarch, 2018 addressed to the Senate President, Federal Republic of Nigeria informing and requesting him to release Senator Dino Melaye to report to Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command on the 7th of March, 2018 to answer to criminal offences of Conspiracy and Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Firearms levelled against him, this is to enable the Police Investigation Team carryout a discreet and thorough investigation into the case. But Senator Dino Melaye refused to honour the Police invitation.

It is pertinent that the Nigeria Police Force informs the members of the General Public that the reasons for which the Senate has summoned the Inspector General of Police is official and not personal, and the 1999 constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended and the Police Act and Regulations allowed the IGP to delegate Deputy Inspector General of Police or Assistant Inspector General of Police to represent him.

Consequently, the action of the Senate in its resolution against the IGP today is a deliberate blackmail, witch-hunting with mischievous motives to hand-twist the IGP to pervert the end of justice in a felonious and serious offenses of Criminal Conspiracy and Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Firearms for which Senator Dino Melaye who was indicted by two (2) Principal Suspects (Kabiru Seidu A.K.A OSAMA, Nuhu Salisu A.K.A SMALL) arrested for several cases of kidnappings and armed robberies in Kogi State are already standing trial in a court of competent jurisdiction.

It is important to correct the impression created in the minds of the people from the Senate’s resolution that the IGP is not and will not be an enemy to democracy. It is also of significant note to state that IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni, has served meritoriously for above Ten (10) years in the United Nations Peace Keeping Operations in several countries unblemished. The Nigeria Police Force is the first defender of Democracy and all democratic institutions in Nigeria and will continue to do so.

It is factual and verifiable that Senator Dino Melaye was discharged and certified fit to stand trial by the National Hospital, Abuja before he was arraigned in Chief Magistrate Courts in Wuse, Abuja and Lokoja.

The Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force will not be deterred by blackmail from any individual or group no matter how highly placed from the enforcement of Law and Order and ensuring that the Rule of Law prevails.

No matter whose Ox is gored.

The Nigeria Police Force, therefore, owes no apology to any individual or groups in its effort to ensure preservation of law and order, supremacy of the law of the land, and make sure that all Nigerians are subject to the same law, no matter what their position is in the society.

The General Public is hereby implored to disregard and discountenance the resolution of the Senate on the IGP as a deliberate blackmail, witch-hunting and mischievously aimed at casting aspersions on the hard earned integrity of the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force.

The Nigeria Police Force as a law abiding organization will continue to hold the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria in high esteem but wishes to impress on the Senate not to harbour criminal elements among its fold or condone criminality. The Force will not be intimidated by any individual, groups or institution, constituent or otherwise to abdicate from its constitutional responsibilities of protection of lives and property and due enforcement of the rule of law, and law and order across the Country.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

*THE EMBODIMENT OF DIVINITY .*

Thursday, May 10th .
Pastor Chris

_*For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9).*_

There’re Christians who don’t know who Jesus really is, and until you know Him, you can’t really have faith in Him. Many only know He’s said to be the Son of God. When you ask them what “Son of God” means, they don’t know.

“Son of God” means God in flesh. In John 4:24, Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, _*“God is a spirit...,”*_ meaning that He doesn’t have a physical body. So, who is Jesus? Jesus is the “body of God.”

Our opening verse says, _*“For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”*_ This means the fullness, the totality of divinity is resident in the body of Jesus. When Jesus walked the earth, all of divinity was at home in Him. He was God alive—walking and talking in a man’s body. So, if you ever wanted to know what God looked like, in terms of His appearance, you look at Jesus.

No wonder He said in John 14:9, _*“…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father….”*_ The same Jehovah who gave the law to Moses, and spoke to Moses from the fire, and to the children of Israel through His glory, is the same God that walked the streets of Galilee in Jesus Christ. Howbeit, they didn’t know Him!

John 1:10-11 says, _*“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”*_ God, in the body of Jesus Christ, came to the world, but they didn’t recognize Him. The Bible says, _*“…it pleased the Father that in him*_ (Jesus) _*should all fulness dwell”*_ (Colossians 1:19).

Now, here’s something extraordinary: Colossians 2:10 says, _*“And ye are complete in him*_ (Jesus Christ) _*….”*_ The word “complete” means fullness; to be made full! You’re made full of the same one with whom Jesus is full. That means the Godhead has His home in you.

Therefore, like Jesus, you’re the embodiment of divinity. This happened when the Holy Spirit came into your life. He brought into you the totality of the Godhead; the fullness of the Godhead dwells in you today, as it does Jesus. So, like Him, you’re the living house of the living God.

*CONFESSION*

*I’m full of God; God is in me; He walks in me; He talks in me, and I’m therefore, not an ordinary person. Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. The world is under my feet, and I walk in the path of victory and prosperity. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Colossians 1:26-27* [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: *||*

*||* *1 John 4:4* Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. *||*

*||* *Colossians 3:3* For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. *||*

*DAILY SCRIPTURE READING*

*1-Year Bible Reading Plan=>* John 5:1-30 & 1 Kings 4-6

*2-Year Bible Reading Plan=>* 1 Corinthians 7:1-9 & Proverbs 6.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested three fake crude oil sellers for allegedly defrauding a Ghanaian of the sum of N20 million.

Fake oil suppliers

The suspects: Otuma Firstborn, Stephen Okonkwo and Aniekan Udoh, were arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State after successfully fleecing their victim, Solomon Lamptey of the huge sum of money.

According to a statement by the EFCC’s Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, trouble came for the suspects when the victim, Lamptey, a Ghanaian, petitioned the anti-graft agency and accused them of presenting themselves as genuine crude oil sellers from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, when it was discovered that they were mere impostors.

Lamptey allegedly came to Nigeria in November 2017 seeking authentic suppliers of crude oil.
In his quest, he met Firstborn, who demanded and collected an initial sum of $1,800 and an additional sum of N500,000.00 for “Notice of Readiness for two vessels”: MT Skamandras and MT Toledo Spirit. The vessels were to deliver the crude oil to Lamptey in Ghana.

Aside the initial money Lamptey allegedly made to the suspects, a further payment of $56,000.00 ( N20,000,000.00) was paid to them as ‘logistics’ to move the vessels from Nigeria to Ghana.

Otuma is reported to have acted as a link to Okonkwo, who allegedly used his company, Rextronics Nigeria Limited to collect a sum of N13,000,000.00 out of the money Lamptey paid for the crude oil.

Udoh on the other hand, also took his own share of the money.

Some documents purportedly issued by NNPC were handed over to the petitioner and they include: Notice of Readiness( NOR); Authority to Board Vessel( ATB), Sales Purchase Agreement.

EFCC confirmed that all the documents were forged all in a bid to deceive the Ghanaian oil buyer.

Wilson said, “The suspects are in the custody of the EFCC and will soon be charged to court.

A man has been charged with three counts of battery after he got in a fight with six police officers.

A video of the brawl between the officers and Demetrious Lowe, 25, on a street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has gone viral.

The video goes back and forth between the officers violently hitting Lowe with police batons and Lowe approaching them with his fists curled and blood streaming down his face.

At least three of the officers were injured and Lowe suffered several broken bones in the incident, which Lowe's family says was an unusual mental health episode.

On May 2 police were dispatched to the northern Milwaukee neighborhood after receiving reports that a man had kicked down the door of a residence.

They found Lowe, who matched the suspect's description, walking nearby bleeding from his left arm and repeatedly saying: I am King James.'

Abiola Ajimobi And Adebayo Shittu Threaten Each Other: "You Will Go To Jail”
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 11:41 PM - No Replies

Quote:BY JOHN OGUNSEMORE

The animosity between the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, and Minister of Communication, Barr. Adebayo Shittu may not end anytime soon.

This is as both All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in Oyo state are both threatening to send each other to jail.

“I want to say that if anybody is desperate in the Oyo political firmament, it should be Governor Ajimobi, who believes that if Barrister Shittu succeeds him, he will be in jail. That is what he is reported to have always told people who mentioned me to him.

“He thinks that I am too principled, firm, unbendable and uncompromising when it comes to the issues of morality. It is he who is desperate to stop me, not me being desperate to become governor.

“The rules are clearly there and like somebody who believes in the rule as a lawyer and man of law and order, if I follow the rules to contest the primaries in a free, fair and credible poll and did not win, I will take up something else.

“I am not desperate to become the governor of Oyo State. It is the other way round because the governor is desperate to stop me for whatever reason,” Shittu said while interacting with reporters at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

He added, “Why is he (Ajimobi) afraid of going to jail if another Buhari like me comes to power in Oyo State? Why is he afraid of primaries?”

But the governor responded in a statement through his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Bolaji Tunji.

He said, “In any case, Shittu should be the one that should be afraid of going to jail in view of many allegations made against him as minister. Few of these are his alleged illegally-acquired property in Ibadan and Abuja and sudden unexplainable and stupendous wealth not commensurate with his emoluments.

“In addition, his recent attempt to convert and appropriate a parcel of land belonging to Saki community, which was stoutly resisted by his own people, has shown his level of greed, avarice and penchant for appropriating what does not belong to him.

“Governor Ajimobi remains a distinguished senator of the country who had successfully traversed the corporate world and got to the peak of his career as the Managing Director and Chief Executive of a multinational; a position that requires a high degree of integrity, ability and capability.

“All these attributes have reflected in the way he has successfully managed the affairs of the state in the last seven years, which has transformed the face and fortunes of the state and had attracted unmatched number of investors to the state.”

Nina Apologizes To Bobrisky: "I Hate To Have Enemies"

Former big brother Naija housemate, Nina has apologized to Bobrisky for shading her and Toyin Lawani.

Nina has now taken to Instagram to apologize saying she didn't know Bobrisky had issues with Toyin and she also doesn't like making enemies.

She wrote;

"I’m generally a cheerful person. I’m usually full of love, life, and happiness. I open my eyes in the morning and feel excited to be alive.
There was a time, though, when it wasn’t so easy in the big brother naija house When blinking and breathing and speaking all took so much effort that I thought I may as well give up: I was in a dark hole of sadness and anger and confusion.
I didn’t think I was gonna make it, but you rooted for me
For the friend who stood by my side through the storm for you Bobrisky the person who could see through my darkness when I wasn’t able to.
For the beautiful soul who believed in transformation, who believed in healing, and time, and growth. Who never once judged me for my heartache, grief, and anguish ,naevity .
Who, when the world gave up on me , gave me a piece of hope, a breath of fresh air, and a tiny scrap of faith that things might begin to change.
For the friend who was delicate with their words and capable of pushing me forward. Who didn’t mind what people where saying against me in dark corner, who actually stood his ground to help me
You endured and took alot of insult for my sake,You pulled me through an impossible tornado that I thought was going to eat me whole.
You loved me at my worst. You never gave up on me. You saw through my opaque pain.
Dear friend,
Thank you.
But I'm trying to build up my life,I didn't know you had all this difference with Toyin Lawani, but then again when i found out i said to myself..i shouldnt involve myself it's between you two..
And am free with both of you..I hate having enemies....
I'm never ungrateful I have always been grateful for all you did for me and will always be..
I hope you see through my point and understand
Thanks @bobrisky222

Fayemi Reacts To Emergence Of Eleka As PDP’s Candidate

Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 11:23 PM - No Replies

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Wednesday congratulated the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof. Olusola Eleka, for his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s flag bearer for the July 14, governorship election in the state.

Eleka on Tuesday emerged winner of the PDP governorship primary held in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. He polled 1,191 votes to defeat PDP’s former national spokesman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who garnered 770 votes from the primaries.

In his reaction, Fayemi, a former governor of Ekiti state, said the emergence of Eleka in an orderly and peaceful primary, is a welcome development.

He however stated that the APC would give the PDP flag bearer a good fight for the Oke Ayoba Government House come July 14, asserting that the APC is still the preferred choice for the generality of Ekiti people.

The Minister, who spoke in a statement by his Media Office, said he is confident that whoever emerges as APC flag bearer in the party’s rescheduled primary on Friday would be more acceptable to the electorate in Ekiti state.

Reps Order Police To Vacate Peace Corps Office Within 21 Days
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 11:20 PM - No Replies

  1. The House of Representatives has ordered the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Idris Ibrahim, to unseal the National Headquarters of Peace Corps of Nigeria within 21 days.

This follows the recommendation by the House Committee on Public Petitions, which conducted investigative hearing into the “illegal” closure of Peace Corps facilities and the alleged disobedience to subsisting court orders to unseal the premises.

Peace Corps facilities located at number 57, Iya Abubakar Crescent, off Alex Ekwueme street, opposite Jabi lake, Abuja, had been under lock and keys by the police since February 28th, 2017, the day the property was commissioned.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole of Federal High Court, Abuja, had on the 9th November 2017, ordered that the office be unsealed, while awarding N12.5m damages against the Police.

In a similar development, Justice John Tsoho of another division of Federal High Court Abuja, had also, on the 15th January, 2018, given judgement that Police should vacate the Peace Corps office.

None of the judgements was obeyed and no valid stay of execution was obtained by the Police whose operatives and vehicles are permanently stationed at the premises.

Irked by the development, a group under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Justice and Equity, petitioned the National Assembly, urging it to intervene in order “to save our democracy and insist on rule of law.”

Presenting the report of the investigation to the plenary on Wednesday, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petitions, Hon. Nkem Abonta, said series of invitations were sent to the Inspector-General of Police to appear before the committee but he refused to honour.

Abonta also said, the committee obtained a document which showed that, the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami wrote to the IGP and advised him to honour the subsisting court orders, “in absence of any appeal or valid stay of execution.”

He told the House that, a legal officer who represented the IGP at public hearing committed perjury, stressing that, “he lied under oath that there was a valid stay of execution”, but when time was given that he produced a proof of stay, he could not produce any.

Abonta expressed concern that, it would spell doom for Nigerian democracy and it would also give room to anarchy, if “an agency of the Federal Government (police) continues to disobey orders of the court.”

While adopting the recommendation of the committee, the House urged Police to comply with the subsisting court orders and the instruction from the AGF.

The police have 21 days from the commencement of Wednesday’s plenary, to vacate the properties of Peace Corps.

Ekiti Governorship: Tinubu Reveals Details Of Meeting With APC Aspirants
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 11:18 PM - No Replies

Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has revealed what leaders of the party discussed with Ekiti governorship aspirants in Abuja.

Tinubu said the governorship aspirants demanded for direct primaries for the conduct of the rescheduled primaries, as provided for in Article 20 of the party’s constitution.

He said the aspirants noted that the “Direct Primaries” would enable every card-carrying member of the party vote for candidate of their choice.

This was contained in a statement signed by Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Niyi Adebayo
and Chief Pius Akinyelure.

The statement reads, “Concerned by the developments within the Ekiti State Chapter of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), with respect to the huge number of Governorship Aspirants and the botched primary election of Saturday, 5th May, 2018, the leadership of the party from the South West geo-political zone on Tuesday, 8th May, 2018 met in Abuja with the 33 Governorship Aspirants who participated in the primary election to review the circumstances that led to the disruption of the election.

“The leaders at the meeting held at the Lagos State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja were Chief Bisi Akande, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Chief Pius Akinyelure.

“Among other issues, the question of how to conduct a free, credible and transparent primary election was discussed at the meeting. All the Aspirants were agreeable to the intervention and admonition of the leaders that they maintain the peace throughout the process.

“The Aspirants encouraged the leaders to further discuss with the National Chairman of the party, His Excellency, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, on the way forward. Specifically, the leaders were mandated to discuss with the National Chairman of the party on the possibility of an option of Direct Primaries for the conduct of the rescheduled primaries, as provided for in Article 20 of our party’s constitution to enable every card-carrying member of the party vote for an aspirant of his or her choice.

“As opposed to the Delegates System, the Aspirants believe Direct Primary election is more transparent, less monetised and energises the democratic system through the participation and involvement of the generality of the party members.

“After a subsequent meeting of the leaders with the National Chairman of the party, with the Ekiti State Chairman of the party, Chief Jide Awe, and two representatives of the Aspirants, Engr. Segun Oni and Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, in attendance, it was decided that given the extent of planning and logistics involved and the closeness of the deadline for the conduct of primaries by all political parties in Ekiti State as well as submission of names of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it would be better to go by the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to conduct a fresh Indirect Primary Election in Ekiti State on Friday, 11th May, 2018, the leaders having been assured by both the National Chairman of the party as well as His Excellency, Governor Tanko Al-Makura that the rejuvenated Primary Election Committee would put new and extra measures in place to ensure a restoration of the integrity of the electoral process aimed at producing a credible Candidate with the highest number of votes.”

“In view of this, the entire leadership of the party from the South West geo-political region hereby calls on all the delegates in Ekiti State to ensure full and active participation at the primary election on Friday. We also encourage delegates to vote according to their conscience and ensure that the process is not monetised in the overall interest of our party, the growth of our democracy and consistent with our progressive tradition which our people are noted for. The Aspirants themselves are enjoined to shun all manners of sharp practices and avoid any resort to violence during the rescheduled primaries.”

Corpses Still Litter Birnin-Gwari Kaduna After Attack As Death Toll Rises. Photo

People of Birnin-Gwari local government area of Kaduna State, where a village was attacked and scores killed on Saturday, said more bodies have been discovered. The Birnin-Gwari people under the auspices of Birnin-Gwari Vanguards for Security and Good Governance said, death toll in the Saturday attack has now risen to over 71.

A journalist, Olatunji Saliu who paid a visit to the scene, narrated his experience. Read below;

Corpses still litter Nigeria's northwestern village of Gwaska attacked by gunmen last Saturday. I've just returned from the place, on an on-the-spot reporting of the incident. I joined the villagers to search for corpses in the thick bushes surrounding the village in Birnin-Gwari area of the northern state of Kaduna. Our team found two corpses during the search. They were quickly buried in shallow graves. We saw dozens of bullet shells, burnt bicycles and mud houses.

At least 73 bodies have been buried so far. Gwaska is a populated village in Birnin-Gwari. It is 291 kilometers away from the Kaduna city center. It has no good road, no school, no fence, no functional health facility, no source of water supply. Most of its dwellers are farmers who go to source for water in other villages to do their farming work, drink, cook and bath.

The place is prone to more attacks, with no presence of security operatives. Only the brave can go to that place without police/military escort. I did. I went there with two other brave colleagues. We're back and happy that we made the trip.

Sagay To Senate: You Are The Real Enemy Of Democracy, Not IGP

Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Quote:Prof. Itse Sagay, Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) on Wednesday said the senate through their actions are constituting themselves as dangers to Nigeria’s democracy and not the Inspector- General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
The Senate has declared the IGP as an enemy of democracy, saying he is unfit to hold a public office.

Senate President Bukola Saraki announced this on Wednesday during plenary at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

But speaking in a chat with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Sagay said the IGP cannot be said to shun the senate as he sent a representative who is a DIG but was rejected by the Senate.

He said by abandoning their legislative duties to visit their colleagues who are facing trial, the national assembly has proven they are the real enemy of democracy.

“Absolutely not! I don’t think the IGP has constituted himself as enemy of our democracy”.

“It is the conduct of the senate that constitutes danger to democracy because of the way they frequently abandon their constitutional responsibilities and move en masse to engage in solidarity visits to their individual members who are undergoing trial in hospitals or other places. That is an indication of abandonment of democracy” .

“They have regularly abused their rights under this democracy and have demonstrated that they are not sufficiently mature to operate in liberal democracy. That is what I have seen”.

Villagers Flee Into The Bush As Herdsmen Raid Adamawa Again
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 09:45 PM - No Replies

Quote:Residents of at least five villages in Adamawa State are currently scuttling to the bush, following renewed attacks by herdsmen.

The villages — Nega, Bang, Gon, Bolki, and Nzumosu (all in Numan Local Government) — have been under sporadic attacks since last week Wednesday, although one or two villages, such as Yanga, have remained impenetrable to the attackers.

“The terrorists have wanted to attack since Friday [last week] but they were dispersed by a combination of CTU, Mopol and highway patrol,” one of the villagers, who asked not to be named for fear of being hunted down, told SaharaReporters on phone as he was running into the bush.

“However, on Monday, they started gathering close to Nega and 5am today, they burnt a church in the village.

“Already, before now, when the info went round about their gathering, villagers sent their women and children away, while only the men stayed back to defend their villages.”

Nega and Bang are on the border between Adamawa and Taraba, so they are the first villages on the path of the attackers, who are coming from Taraba state.

“Youth from all these other villages has been mobilizing support from Nega and Bang to prevent the attackers from reaching the other villages,” he continued.

“So, the attackers sensed they might face some resistance and decided to use another route to one of the villages, Gon, where they set rice farms on fire. Mind you, people are harvesting dry season rice at this moment.”

SaharaReporters confirmed that security forces were notified of the attack well before the assailants entered the villages but it was unclear what their response was.

Charging Of Tuition Fees In Federal Universities Illegal - FG
User Avatar Forum: Universities
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 09:06 PM - No Replies

The Federal Executive Council stated on Wednesday that no federal university should charge tuition fees, saying the law does not allow it.
The Minister of State for Education, Anthony Anwuka, stated this while briefing State House correspondents after the cabinet meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The minister said the council discussed the school fees being charged by various universities "and noted that as of law, no federal university should charge tuition fees."
He also stated that the council understood that some federal universities charged fees per course unit,

The minister said the government would investigate and stop this.
Anwuka said the National Universities Commission had been directed to clarify and update the council on the matter.

He said: “We understand some universities now charge fees per course unit and we are going to make sure that we investigate that properly and make it stop.
"Students can pay other auxiliary fees, but not in excess. Various university councils and management should be able to fix what fees students should pay that is affordable and acceptable to the students. That is the position.

"The federal government does not determine fees for private and state universities. It only takes responsibility for fees paid in the federal universities.”
The minister also disclosed that the council approved the insurance of provisional licence for the the establishment of Skyline University in Kano.

APC Crisis Worsens As nPDP Faction Issues Seven-Day Ultimatum
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 08:24 PM - No Replies

Former leaders of the PDP who defected to the APC in 2013 have written to the national chairman of the ruling party to demand an urgent meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari “within seven days”, TheCable can report.

They did not state their next line of action, although TheCable understands that they may pull out of the party which is already bedevilled by crisis following rancorous congresses nationwide last weekend.

The bloc, known then as the new PDP (nPDP), helped in dislodging the PDP from its 16-year rule in the 2015 general election.

They teamed up with the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to form APC.

However, in a letter signed by Abubakar Kawu Baraje, former national chairman of nPDP and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, its former national secretary, and presented to John Odigie-Oyegun on Wednesday afternoon, the group listed several grievances and demanded an emergency meeting.

They complained that despite the role they played in bringing APC to power in 2015, they have been neglected in the scheme of things by the administration.

Some of the grievances listed by nPDP are:

No member was appointed into the federal executive council, expect one who did not deliver his state in 2015 (an obvious reference to Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers and minister of transportation)
No “significant patronage” and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies
When members showed interest in running for the offices of senate president and speaker, they were opposed by the APC hierarchy.

TheCable could not confirm when the seven days would start counting but the letter was dated May 7, 2018 — a day before Buhari travelled to the UK for medicals.

It is also not clear if his absence would affect the treatment of the letter.

The president is expected back in the country at the weekend.
TEXT OF THE LETTER

The National Chairman

All Progressives Congress (APC)

National Headquarters

Abuja.

REQUEST FOR REDRESSING OF GRIEVANCES OF THE FORMER NEW PDP BLOCK WITHIN THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC)

We the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who moved over from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to form the APC before the 2015 General Elections in Nigeria are desirous of strengthening our party especially now that new party Congresses have commenced and the Convention and another round of General Elections are imminent. Obviously, this cannot be achieved without addressing fundamental issues which we wish to raise in this letter.

We therefore wish, with due respect, to re-state our expectation then and now that the APC we all laboured to build would be one united, inclusive, cohesive and progressive party devoid of divisions, factions, cleavages and tendencies. We envisioned a political party promoting equal rights for all Nigerians and ensuring rapid and even development across the country. Of course there is no gainsaying the fact that the lofty ideals enumerated above cannot be attained without ensuring justice for party faithfuls and citizens.

2. Kindly indulge us to offer a brief reminder of the history of events that led to the victory of the APC in the 2015 General Elections and the presidential election in particular. It is an undeniable historical fact that the movement of the former New PDP block to form the APC contributed immensely to the victory of the APC in the elections. The former new PDP included five sitting Governors of Sokoto, Kano, Kwara, Adamawa and Rivers States and former Governors of Kebbi, Gombe, Osun, former Vice President of Nigeria, former acting National Chairman of PDP, sitting Speaker of the House of Representatives, many serving members of the National Assembly and many renowned politicians and PDP Elders. It was a watershed moment in Nigeria’s political History.

3. Most of these leaders not only DELIVERED their States to the APC at the elections, some of the Governors were also assigned specific responsibilities to ensure that other States were also delivered to the APC in the 2015 elections. The then Governor of Sokoto took charge of Kebbi and the then Governor of Kano State took responsibility for Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa States just to mention a few examples. There were also unprecedented efforts by many stakeholders such as Senator Bukola Saraki, in concert with others, to DELIVER the entire North Central to the APC.

4. These efforts, contributions and sacrifice were made in spite of the fact that the presidential ticket was taken by the erstwhile Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) blocks of the party. It is a matter for grave concern that His Excellency, Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has never publicly acknowledged our efforts in the face of clear evidence that the total number of votes scored by the APC in States where leaders and members of the then NEW PDP block held sway made the difference.

5. The stubborn facts are as follows: In Kano State APC scored 1,903,999 in 2015, and in Kwara 302,146. In Sokoto State it scored 671,926, and 374,701 in Adamawa. In Kebbi State, APC had 567,883 votes and 885,988 in Jigawa. It was the same story in Gombe (459,898), Kogi (264,851), and Benue (373,961) votes. These represented significant additions to the APC victory column. Indeed, the influence, activities, momentum and ripple effect generated by the former New PDP block was significant in the victory of APC in the entire elections in the whole country.

6. At this stage we would chronicle a few grievances which if addressed will lead to a harmonious APC where justice, equity, fairness and peace will reign and enable APC avoid rancour, reinvigorate the pace of national development and face the 2019 General Elections as one united party.

7. Our grievances include:

(a) In the constitution of the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) the New PDP block was generally sidelined as virtually no position was conceded to it. The only member of FEC that belonged to former New PDP block comes from a State that contributed virtually no vote to the APC in the 2015 presidential elections.

(b) There has been no significant patronage and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies such as Chief Executives and Executive Directors of government agencies and parastatals as members of our block of the party continue to helplessly watch as these positions are shared by the erstwhile CPC, ACN, ANPP and even APGA blocks of the party and those who have no party at all.

© In appointments into boards of various government agencies, very few former New PDP members were patronised. These are however not commensurate with our contributions to the growth and victory of the party.

(d) When members of the former New PDP block showed interest in running for the offices of President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, they were subjected to a vicious and relentless political opposition as if they were not legitimate members of the APC family.

(e) During the party primaries preparatory to the 2015 General Elections, most of the promises made to sitting members of the National Assembly, who belonged to the former new PDP in terms of a level playing field were reneged upon or observed more in breach.

(f) There has been general lack of consultation, non recognition and even persecution of former New PDP members and leaders by the party and government. For example, some of our leaders are denied the security cover necessary to visit their constituencies even though they are elected representatives of the people in a government they sacrificed so much for.

(g) Harassment, intimidation and persecution of former New PDP leaders by the government, is still an ongoing affair. We do not want to overstate the obvious by cataloguing names of former new PDP stalwarts that are targets of this political pogrom.

(h) There is inadequate reflection of programme and policy contributions of members of the former New PDP block in the running of the government.

8. Our belief is that it does not augur well for our party if a section of it feels that it is being treated as outcasts and meddlesome interlopers in the party they rightly belong with the legitimate expectation to be treated with justice both in the running of the party and the government.

9. Arising from the issues outlined above, among others, we request for an urgent meeting with the Leader of the party, and the Party Executive leadership to find lasting solutions to the issues raised so as to prepare the party as a fighting force to deliver more pungently on its manifesto and face the 2019 General Elections with even greater commitment. The meeting will also enable us to work out modalities to ensure a level playing field for all in the Congresses and Convention of the APC.

10. Given the constraining factor of available time and in the interest of our great Party, it is strongly advised that the said urgent meeting be held not later than Seven (7) days from the date of the receipt of this letter.

11. In conclusion, we the members of the former New PDP block of the APC wish to reiterate that this letter is written patriotically with the best of intentions and the good of our party, the APC, and is issued to alert the leadership of the APC and in particular, the leader of our party, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who only recently indicated his intention to seek a second term as President, of grievances that exist within the party with a view to ensuring justice for all members of the APC family regardless of the blocks they came from prior to the formation of the APC.

For and on behalf of the former New PDP Block of APC:

Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje (CON), former National Chairman (nPDP)

Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former National Secretary (nPDP)

The IGP was first invited a two weeks ago but failed to show up. He was re-summoned again to appear last week but he declined. For the last time, the Senate invited him to appear today. He did not show up.

Below are their comments ..

Quote:"It is very unusual for a public servant to act like this. I have never see this before anywhere in the world, we need to take a decision because this affects security in the entire country." - Senator Ahmad Lawan, Senate Leader.

"This is unacceptable and disrespectful. It requires immediate action and i think this Senate needs to take serious action in looking for a way forward." - Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.

"What the IGP is doing is not against the Senate but against the presidency that appointed him into office, it's unfortunate. The IG is not competent to be in the office" - Senator Isah Misau.

"What is happening today in Nigeria shows that democracy is dying bit by bit and also shows the abuse of power and office by the IG. What the IG is doing in the eyes of the world, shows that there is no respect for the law."- Senator Enyinaya Abaribe.

Police IG Idris Snubs Senate the third time - READ WHY
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 08:13 PM - No Replies

@APROKOGIRL

Quote:For the third time, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has failed to honour an invitation to appear before the Senate.

Mr Idris has ignored the Senate for three weeks.

He was expected to answer questions on the arrest of a lawmaker, Dino Melaye, and killings across the country.

The police boss was first summoned on April 25 but he failed to appear.

On the day he was expected, the chairman of senate committee on police affairs, Abu Ibrahim, informed the lawmakers that the IGP had accompanied President Muhammadu Buhari to Bauchi.

The Senate re-summoned Mr Idris after it refused to allow the deputy Inspector-General of Operations to represent him.

The lawmakers summoned Mr Idris to appear on May 2 by 11 a.m. Again, he did not show up.

Mr Ibrahim said last week he had not been able to reach Mr Idris for a while.

He said he later found out the police chief had travelled to Kaduna instead of honouring the Senate’s invitation.

The Senate issued a third summons following a suggestion by the senate president, Bukola Saraki.

Mr Idris was asked to attend the senate plenary today, May 9.

But when it was time for the IGP to be ushered in to the senate chamber, the lawmakers realised Mr Idris was not available.

Mr Saraki announced his non-appearance after some minutes of wait to allow him into the chamber.

“I’ve just been informed that the IG or any member of his team are not here,” he said.

The lawmakers are currently deliberating on next line of action.

A Zambian woman reportedly divorced her illiterate husband who sponsored her education, saying she is no longer interested in marrying an uneducated man.

Read the report from Zambian Accurates below...

A Mansa woman has divorced her husband after he sponsored her to school from Grade 9 to University. When asked by the court why she was divorcing her husband 'Vincent', Maria Tembo said she was no longer interested in marrying someone who was not educated, adding that her friends were laughing at her because the husband was illiterate.

The two got married in 1997 and have two children together. The man had to sell his house he built in 1995 in order to take back his wife to school. The wife started Grade 9 and went to university in the school of education. And after being employed, she decided to divorce her husband in favour of a man she met at university.

The court has since ordered the woman to pay her ex husband K10,000 for abandoning him after sacrificing for her for 10 years.

Seize Senator Bassey Akpan's Assets, Bank Accounts - Nigeria Tells UK

Quote:Akpan who currently represents Akwa Ibom in the National Assembly was commissioner for finance between August 7, 2007, and 2014 under ex-governor Godswill Akpabio.

[Image: Senator-Bassey-Albert-Akpan%20This%20Day...k=zk8icuZz]

The Nigerian government has asked British authorities to ban a former finance commissioner of Akwa-Ibom State, Senator Bassey Akpan, from entering the United Kingdom and any of its territories.

Akpan who currently represents Akwa Ibom in the National Assembly was commissioner for finance between August 7, 2007, and 2014 under ex-governor Godswill Akpabio.

ThisDay newspaper reports that the request was based on findings by the Federal Government’s Special Presidential Investigative Panel for the Recovery of Public Property that Akpan acquired properties in Nigeria and the United Kingdom with a value well above his remunerations for the about 10 years he served as commissioner for finance.

The British authorities were also requested to seize assets and all bank accounts belonging to the Senator in the letter addressed to the UK Home Office Secretary, Hon. Amber Rudd, the newspaper further reported.

Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigative Panel for the Recovery of Public Properties, Okoi Obono-Obla, who signed the letter, which was sent to the British authorities on 28th of March, said the action became necessary due to findings from investigations of the senator.

According to the letter, “The circumstances under which senator Bassey Albert Akpan acquired all these landed properties in the United Kingdom are suspicious taking into account that for the past ten years he has always been a public officer and his legitimate earnings are far below the worth of the assets he has acquired in the United Kingdom.

He is therefore by the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) a public officer. He is presently under investigation in Nigeria by this panel for an illicit acquisition of assets and money laundering.

“In the light of the foregoing, I am writing to bring to the notice of the Home Office Secretary, the fraudulent acts of Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan which include money laundering activities, assets stealing, forgery, tax evasion and extortion.

“It is kindly requested for the Rt. Hon. Home Office Secretary to use her powers to issue an Exclusion Decision on Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan from the United Kingdom and its territory pursuant to the Home Office.

“Exclusion from the UK booklet version 1.0 page 12 under corruption cited: tax evasion, money laundering, bribery and accepting kickbacks, extortion, asset stealing, fraud and match-fixing in sport.”

But the senator claimed that the properties were acquired through a mortgage of £1 million from Barclays Bank of London.

The federal government has also asked a Federal High Court, Abuja, for an interim order of forfeiture of assets linked to the senator.

5575 APC Members Join PDP In Kaduna

Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 01:49 PM - No Replies

No fewer than 5,557 members of All Progressives Congress, APC, have defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna South senatorial district of the state.

They were led by Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Jagaba Adams Jagaba, saying their decision was informed by the dwindling fortune of APC.

Jagaba told journalists that their decision to leave the APC was informed by the fact that they were not treated well by the party in the state.

According to him, the APC had accused him of anti-party activities and set up a committee to investigate the matter, saying: “The ward executive sat with me and could not find me guilty of the accusations. But the state chapter of the party took the executive to Kaduna to sign that I have been suspended from the party indefinitely.

“Now, in a year of election, you suspend an active politician like me indefinitely? To me, I saw it as an infringement on my fundamental human right. And I decided to just let go. I left them for good.

How Hausa People Raised Alarm After Sighting Fulani Trucks In Cross River. PICS
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 01:41 PM - No Replies

t was earlier reported how two truck filled of Fulani indigenes were intercepted at a checkpoint in Ogoja local government area in Cross River state after an alarm was raised by Hausa villagers who sighted them while coming down from the truck to buy food on Sunday, May 6th. Youths from the host community where the Fulanis stopped; Ogoja - came in agreement and refused the Fulanis from settling there as they chased them away.

According to reports from an eyewitness, “the Fulanis came with two armed escorts – an Army Officer and a Policeman since they suspected the locals could resist them if eventually they got to know”. To their greatest surprise, the Hausas who have been living in Garki over the years where the first to raise alarm and call the attention of the public about the “new faces” who have come to join them''.

According to the Hausas, “The new Fulanis will make life difficult and hostile for them to continue living in Ogoja peacefully because it is possible they were driven from wherever they came from because they were killer Herdsmen”.

Youths chased the Fulanis from Garki, to Yahe in Yala. When the people of Yahe saw what was going on, they joined in the campaign and chased them farther through the borders of Yala and Ikom.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Irene Ugbo said that actually two trucks loaded with Fulani Herdsmen arrived the towns but were returned back with armed escorts.

Quote:ABUJA, Nigeria — President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, who has urged politicians not to go abroad to seek medical care, has traveled to Britain on his fifth official trip to see a doctor there.

Mr. Buhari, 75, left for London on Monday for a four-day visit, setting off renewed concerns about his health. His trip also comes after three weeks of strikes by health care professionals who are calling for better working conditions and more funding.

For nearly two years, Mr. Buhari has been receiving treatment for an unspecified illness, which he has repeatedly refused to discuss.

The president is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Saturday, at which point he will have spent more than 170 days in London on official medical leave since becoming president in 2015.

Kwankwaso, Kano Deputy Governor Boycott APC Congress
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-09-2018, 01:35 PM - No Replies

Two top leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State boycotted the party’s ward congress held on Saturday.
The former governor of Kano State and senator representing Kano central, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the deputy governor of Kano State, Hafiz Abubakar, boycotted the Saturday APC ward congress.

The ward congress at Madobi, the local government of Mr Kwankwaso was supervised by his political rival, Kano State’s Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Musa Kwankwaso.
The commissioner visited some wards to observe the congress where he hailed APC members for orderly conduct.
However, the media aide to the former governor, Binta Sipikin, told PREMIUM TIMES that the APC members loyal to Mr. Kwankwaso conducted separate congresses in 484 wards of Kano State.
She accused the media of not covering their congress, adding that they are now compiling the result for onward submission to APC national headquarters, an indication that the fictionalisation of the party will continue.
The Kano State Deputy Governor, Hafiz Abubakar, was also not sighted at the Saturday’s ward congress in his Mandawari ward of Gwale Local Government Area.
The deputy governor complained in the media when his younger brother was removed from the chairmanship of APC in Mandawari ward in Gwale.
Although Governor Abdullahi Ganduje directed the reinstatement of the deputy governor’s brother, Saturday’s ward congress showed the emergence of one Salisu Sani as the elected chairman of Mandawari ward.
Mr Abubakar has not officially provided any reason for his boycott of the congress amidst speculations he is a loyalist of Mr Kwankwaso.

The state government is, however, unperturbed by the boycott and has described the congress as successful.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary to Mr Ganduje, Abba Anwar, said the governor described the ward congress as a unifying factor for the party at all levels, emphasising that, “Ours is to foster unity in democracy, for the overall development of our nation.”
After commending the party members for the peaceful conduct of the congress, Mr Ganduje said the way the congress was conducted was a clear indication that the people had accepted the party in all the 44 local governments in the state.
“The turn out is so encouraging, apart from being peaceful. This clearly indicates that APC’s performance in governance is being acknowledged and appreciated by Nigerians,” he added.

He called on the elected executive members of the party to remember that APC is a people-oriented party that believes in good service delivery in governance.
The congress, according to the governor, shows that Kano State is still intact for President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I urge you, as newly elected leaders of our great party, to ensure justice and fairness in all your dealings. I also urge you and other members of our great party, the APC, to work hard and see that the remaining Congresses are peaceful and successful,” he said.
Mr Ganduje was deputy to Mr Kwankwaso when the latter was governor. Since Mr Ganduje emerged governor, however, both men have become rivals splitting the party in the state into two factions.
All efforts by President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC national headquarters to resolve the crisis have failed.
Kano, the most populous state in Northern Nigeria, is also the state where President Buhari got his highest votes in the 2015 election.

Fayemi Shuns Reporters, Walks Out Of Tinubu’s Meeting With Ekiti Aspirants

Kayode Fayemi, minister of mines and steel, walked out of the meeting which Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and some party leaders held with the governorship aspirants of the APC in Ekiti state, on Tuesday.

The meeting took place at the Lagos state government house in Asokoro, Abuja.

Some of the party leaders in attendance were Bisi Akande, pioneer chairman of the party; Segun Osoba, former Ogun state governor; Niyi Adebayo, former Ekiti state governor; and Pius Akinyelure; zonal vice chairman of the APC in the south-west.

After discussing for like two hours, they agreed on a break.

The minister, who walked out of the room ahead of other aspirants and party leaders, ignored reporters who approached him.

Ojudu, Adaramola and some of the aspirants

He entered his car and his driver sped off.

But Akande who spoke with journalists said the outcome of the meeting would be presented to the national working committee (NWC) of the party.

Asked if there were discussion on a consensus candidate, he said it is an option since the party’s constitution is not against it.

“Primary election is already written in our constitution but all we want is the happiness the generality of the leadership, the contestants and our party in general,” Akande said.

“We took a decision on what will be the best advantage to our party and the country. Consensus is already written in our constitution and it is an option.”

Tinubu, Akande with the aspirants during the break period

When asked if the aspirants agreed on a consensus candidate, Akande said they were asked to think about it and report back to the leaders.

Asked to comment on the cancellation of Saturday’s primary, Akande said he was not part of the process but said he would be part of avoid the repeat of the incident.

When the meeting reconvened around 7:30pm, other aspirants were there but Fayemi and Ayo Arise, a former senator, were not seen.

Tanko Al-Makura, governor of Nasarawa state, and chairman of the election committee, joined the second part of the the meeting.

Akande speaking with journalists at the end of the meeting

After the botched primary, Fayemi accused Babafemi Ojudu, a presidential aide, and Bimbo Adaramola, a former member of the house of representatives, of conspiring to thwart the exercise, which he claimed was in his favour.

Delegates from four local government areas had concluded voting when the exercise was disrupted. Fayemi said he was leading in the votes cast.

The APC leadership has fixed July 11 for a fresh primary.

Buhari in London: He doesn’t need to transmit letter to NASS —Presidency

Adesina says no cause to worry over president’s health

ABUJA—THE Presidency, yesterday said that President Muhammadu Buhari who is on a four-day trip to the United Kingdom, where he will see his doctors did not need to transmit a letter to the Senate and the House of Representatives before embarking on such a trip.

This came as Femi Adesina, spokesman of President Buhari, yesterday, said there was no cause to worry over Buhari’s health condition.

Speaking with Vanguard , the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang said President Buhari was still on duty, but only going for medical attention.

Enang said, “Mr. President is still on duty and he is going for medical attention.”

Asked whether it was not pertinent and compulsory for Buhari to have an executive communication with the National Assembly, Enang said, “ Mr. President does not need to transmit a letter , he is on duty, but gone for medical attention.”

Efforts to speak with the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Sabi Abdullahi(APC, Niger North) on the matter proved abortive.

In the same vein, Mr Femi Adesina, spokesman of President Buhari, yesterday, said his principal’s trip to London was “just for a review” of his health.

Speaking on a Channels TV programme, Adesina said there was no cause to worry over Buhari’s health condition.

“The fact that a man is a president does not remove his right and privileges to privacy. So, unless Mr President comes out voluntarily and willingly to tell the country that ‘this is what I have suffered from, this is what I have been treated for,’ even the medical doctor does not have the right to say it.

“It is in the hippocratic oath that the medical doctors take. They cannot disclose the ailment of the patient without the permission of that patient.”

He added that the president was “up and about and doing his duties” and that “what he is going for is a review.
“We all need that from time to time. There is nobody that is 100 per cent healthy. He is just going for a review. I want to believe that he will come back on Saturday as planned,” he said.

Ebola Re-enforce, Killed 17 People In Northern Congo
[Image: Ebola-Outbreak.jpg]
Seventeen people in northwest Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have died from the deadly virus, Ebola, the health ministry has said, describing the fresh outbreak as a "public health emergency with international impact."

"Twenty-one cases of fever with haemorrhagic indications and 17 deaths" have been recorded in Equateur province, it said, citing a notification to the ministry as of May 3.

Congo’s  health ministry on Tuesday described the fresh outbreak as a “public health emergency with international impact. Twenty-one cases of fever with haemorrhagic indications and 17 deaths” have been recorded in Equateur province, it said.

This is Congo's ninth known outbreak of Ebola since 1976, when the deadly viral disease was first identified in then-Zaire by a Belgian-led team. In Geneva, the World Health Organization (WHO) said lab tests in the DRC confirmed the presence of Ebola virus in two out of five samples collected from patients.

“WHO is working closely with the government of the DRC to rapidly scale up its operations and mobilize health partners, using the model of a successful response to a similar… outbreak in 2017,” it said in a statement.

It said it had released $1 million (840,000 euros) from an emergency contingency fund, set up a coordination group and deployed more than 50 experts to work with the DRC government and health agencies. All the cases were reported from a clinic at Ilkoko Iponge, located about 30 kilometres (20 miles) from Bikoro, where treatment capacities are limited, the WHO said.

A team of experts from the WHO, Doctors without Borders (DRC) and Equateur province travelled to Bikoro on Tuesday to beef up coordination and carry out investigations, it said.

The worst-ever Ebola outbreak started in December 2013 in southern Guinea before spreading to two neighbouring west African countries, Liberia and Sierra Leone. That outbreak killed more than 11,300 people out of nearly 29,000 registered cases, according to WHO estimates, although the real figure is thought to be significantly higher.

There is no current vaccine to prevent Ebola or licensed treatment for it, although a range of experimental drugs are in development. Early care with rehydration may boost the chance of survival.

I Only Snub People I Don’t Know – Chioma Reveals
[Image: Chioma%2BAkpotha.jpg]
Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha has revealed that she is aware people see her as a snub and how attending a girls' only secondary school affected her relationship with men.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, the actress admitted that a lot of people think she had an attitude problem. She said,

“I am aware that people think I am a snob, but I am actually a shy person. My job demands that I should abandon who I am. It used to be even worse for me because I went to a single-sex school; so, relating to guys was difficult for me. However, I am adjusting now because of acting.”

According to Akpotha, she tries as much as possible to protect herself and that gives people the impression that she is a snob. “When you meet me newly, the first impression you get is that I am cold. But I am only trying to protect myself from people I don’t know.

“If I am in a room and I know everyone there, I will be very comfortable and playful. But if I don’t know anyone, I will be cold. I am not trying to blow my trumpet; I am just saying that I need to know you to be comfortable with you,” she said.

Despite starting acting at the age of 17, she claimed that she did not indulge in drinking or smoking like some of her peers.

She stated, “The way my mother raised us, especially as her first daughter, there was no way I would have lived a wayward life. My late mother would have been a solider if she didn’t have a job.

In Igboland, they pay so much attention to the first daughter because she must be an example to the younger ones. Also, I am allergic to smoke and many other things.

I act stupidly whenever I am high, which is not good for someone like me in public because I like to conduct myself well. I had friends who questioned why I did not smoke or drink but if you know who you are, you wouldn’t succumb to peer pressure.

However, I am not saying the fact that I don’t smoke or drink makes me an extraordinary being.”

Airbus Says Needs Time To Study U.S. Decision On Iran
[Image: AIRBUS.jpg]
European planemaker Airbus will study U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Iran nuclear accord before responding, the company said on Tuesday, adding that this would take some time.

IranAir has ordered 200 passenger aircraft worth $38.3 billion at list prices, including 100 from Airbus, 80 from Boeing and 20 from Franco-Italian turboprop maker ATR.

All the deals are dependent on U.S. licenses because of the heavy use of U.S. parts in commercial planes.

“We’re carefully analyzing the announcement and will be evaluating next steps consistent with our internal policies and in full compliance with sanctions and export control regulations,” Airbus communications chief Rainer Ohler said.

“This will take some time,” he added.

75-Year-Old Retiree Suffers Stroke Over 15 Years’ Unpaid Pensions

75-Year-Old Retiree Suffers Stroke Over 15 Years’ Unpaid Pensions
[Image: 75-year-old-retiree-suffers-stroke-over-...nsions.jpg]
A retiree from the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Mr. Gabriel Olofinlua, has been checking newspapers for the past 15 years, expecting to see information on his pension.

It was learnt that the Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State  indigene’s hope had been dashed despite going for verification exercises in Lagos and Abuja many times.

His wife, Mrs. Ayotunde Olofinlua, told our correspondent that her husband suddenly slumped into depression and suffered  a stroke in February 2010, adding that despite efforts by the family, he had yet to recover.

She explained that the 75-year-old underwent physiotherapy at the Gbagada General Hospital for two years after which he was discharged with some improvements in his movement and speech.

She said after the discharge, the family had continued to spend N30,000 on drugs every month to keep him stable.

Ayotunde said the family believed the septuagenarian might not recover fully until he got his pensions.

She said, “He worked with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and retired in 2003 at the age of 60. He retired at level 14 and was paid his gratuity about three years later.

“Since then, they had refused to  pay him his pensions. Before he was sick, he went to Abuja twice and was told to hold on and that they were working on the pension of other people and they would soon get to his turn.

“By 2010, he suffered a stroke and could not go anywhere again. Some people advised us to get a lawyer or somebody in the ministry to help him follow it up.

“We got one of his friends in the ministry. Unfortunately, the man died and we could not get anybody again.

“One of our relatives working in a law firm in Abuja assisted us to follow it up to a certain stage. She later said the pension office said he should wait for another verification exercise and that he would be paid. That was in 2017. We waited and didn’t hear anything.”

She said a family friend later hinted them that the pension office had opened a complaint bureau at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan.

Ayotunde said the family took the retiree to the place and was told that the matter was being handled.

“We were given the names of two people, including one Alhaji Dogo, whom we were told were in charge. We started calling Alhaji Dogo for updates. The last thing he told us was that the case was in the auditor-general’s office. He said after an audit, my husband would be paid.  This has been the story all along.

“Our children have spent a lot of money on his treatment. Before now, he could not talk or walk. Although his condition appeared to have improved a little, his hands are paralysed. His words are not clear. The money the children are spending on his treatment is not bearing fruit because his mind appears to be on the pension, which he sees as his entitlement.

“We spend N30,000 on drugs every month. Despite his condition, he subscribes to The PUNCH Newspaper every week, hoping to see information on his pension in the papers. We believe he cannot fully recover until he gets his benefits.”

Our correspondent was shown a copy of Gabriel’s retirement letter, dated May 21, 2003 and signed by one Mrs. E.A. Sadare.

The letter showed that he retired as an Assistant Chief Superintendent of Works.

“With reference to your application dated March 21, 2003, I am directed to inform you that your retirement from the federal public service has been accepted with effect from June 22, 2003 when you would have put in 35 years meritorious service.

“You will liaise with the pension section of the ministry in rooms 126/128, where all documents for your benefits would be processed without any delay,” the letter stated in part.

He was issued a pensioner’s verification acknowledgement form by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, with number LAG/PF/011/11352.

The form showed that Gabriel submitted scanned copies of some documents.

Efforts to speak to Alhaji Dogo, who claimed that the victim’s case was before the auditor-general, proved abortive, as his telephone line rang out several times.

A senior official of PTAD, who did not want to be named, asked our correspondent to write a letter to the agency on the matter.

“If you need to get a formal statement on this particular pensioner you will need to write to PTAD and we will respond,” the official said.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

with PASTOR CHRIS

WEDNESDAY, 9TH MAY, 2018.

"ACTING ON THE WORD".

"And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net" (Luke 5:5).
God’s Word has integrity. Whatever He says is truth—absolute reality—and you can bet your life on it. The Lord Jesus had just used Peter’s boat to preach, and when He was done, He instructed him to cast his net into the sea for some fish.

Peter and his crew had toiled fruitlessly all night trying to catch fish; so he said to Jesus, “Sir…we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing…” (Luke 5:5 TLB). But thank God Peter didn’t stop there; he continued, “…but if you say so, we’ll try again.” Peter acted because the Master said so, and the result was a harvest so great that he needed partners to help him with the multitude of fishes to shore (Luke 5:6-7). Yes. Acting on the Word activates the power of God!

Oftentimes, people have no doubts as to the power of God being able to put them over in life, but what they lack is how to activate that power and take advantage of it in their personal lives. Some will say, “I know what the Word of God says, BUT…!” That’s their problem; there’re no “ifs” and “buts” when it comes to the Word; just act on it! When you do, the Lord will confirm it with His power, and there’ll be divine results.
Recall when the Lord Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee. Before the miracle, Mary had said to the servants, “Do whatsoever He tells you to do” (John 2:5). That’s the secret. The Master then instructed the servants to fill the water pots; that didn’t make sense, but they acted on the instruction nonetheless. When the guests drank of it, it was the best wine they ever tasted (John 2:1-10).

There’s always a miracle—a testimony—for the one who acts on the Word. Always speak and act in consonance with the Word, and God’s power will overwhelm you and enable you to lay hold on the results that you desire. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

The Word of God is the light of my life, and by the Word, I see and take a hold of my inheritance in Christ, walking in wisdom, and manifesting the glory of God everywhere. I walk in, and demonstrate, the supernatural today, subduing circumstances, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Matthew 7:24-27 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

James 2:20-22 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Lawyer Bought New Knives To Kill Husband – Police
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

Lagos-based lawyer, Udeme Odibi, who reportedly stabbed her husband, Otike Odibi, to death, has allegedly confessed to the murder.

The police said the 47-year-old called her mother on the telephone immediately after committing the alleged crime to tell her.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, who gave the update on Monday during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja, said the suspect also sent a message to her sister on WhatsApp shortly before the incident.

The CP added that the suspect had procured a set of new knives from which she allegedly picked to kill her 50-year-old spouse.

It was reported that Udeme last Thursday allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife at their residence on Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ajah.

She was also said to have cut off his private parts and placed them on his hand before she stabbed herself in the stomach.

Udeme, however, survived the attack and was admitted to a hospital.

Imohimi said investigations into the case revealed that the couple had marital issues bordering on extramarital affairs.

He said, “On the day of the incident, the suspect sent a WhatsApp message to her sister-in-law complaining about her husband and asking her to pray for them. She equally asked God to forgive her.

“The suspect, Udeme Odibi, in her statement, confessed to the commission of the alleged crime and called her mother on the telephone that she had killed her husband. The suspect had hit her husband with a frying pan on his head before stabbing him with a knife.”

Imohimi explained that Udeme, after ripping out her husband’s intestines, did not seek assistance from their neighbours, adding that the killing was suspected to be premeditated.

The CP said, “The suspect had procured a set of knives which she used to execute her plan. She had packed all her certificates and made arrangements to travel to the United Kingdom that Thursday through Virgin Atlantic.

“The autopsy on the deceased is currently being carried out at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, by a team of pathologists, while the forensic analysis result is being compiled and will be made public later.”
