Atiku, Obi Lied 6 Times During Town Hall Programme — APC
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 02-01-2019, 07:56 AM - No Replies

The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the APC, yesterday, said the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi, lied six times during a town hall live television programme: “The Candidates”.

Spokesperson of the PCC/APC, Festus Keyamo, enumerated the six lies in a statement he issued yesterday.

“Yesterday (Wednesday) Nigerians watched with shock and dismay the barefaced lies and outright dishonest claims of Atiku and Obi in the television show tagged: ‘The Candidates’. Let us tell Nigerians some of the lies they told in that programme, which a simple fact-check will easily expose,” he said.

Keyamo said Atiku’s claim that at handover in May, 2015, the country’s GDP growth rate was six per cent was wrong.

“Fact Checked Truth: It is a well-documented fact that at handover, the GDP growth rate was 2.35 per cent. The economy was on a free fall as the GDP growth rate had dropped for three consecutive quarters,” he said.

He said the claim that recession was caused by the APC government was a lie.

“Fact Checked Truth: With a consistent and rapid drop of our GDP, their Coordinating Minister of the Economy at that time, Okonjo Iweala, a former Central Bank Governor Prof. Charles Soludo, and the Central Bank Governor at the time, now Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, warned the PDP government and Nigerians that we were headed for a recession,” he said.

“Obi’s claim that out-of-school children grew to 13.5 million under this administration was a lie.

“The figure of 13.2 million out-of-school children was a 2015 survey by UNICEF. An alarm was raised by several global bodies then because the figure had grown from 10.5 million in 2010 to 13.2 million in 2015 despite record earnings of the government at that time. In other words, Peter Obi’s claim is self-indicting,” he said.

He said the claims by Atiku that as a customs officer, there was nothing wrong at that time with setting up a company that had dealings in the ports that were under customs supervision was untrue.

“Truth: The Code of Conduct for public officers was first enshrined in the 1979 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Atiku Constitution came into operation.

“According to Section 1 of the Fifth Schedule to the 1979 Constitution, a public officer shall not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicts with his duties and responsibilities. By establishing a company involved in port-related business at a time when he was an officer in the Nigeria Customs Service charged with managing the ports, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar definitely put himself in a position where his personal (business) interest conflicted with his duties as a public officer.

My association with Ganduje does not diminish my war against corruption- Buhari tells Nigerians

President Buhari has dismissed claims that his association with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano has diminished his commitment to the war against corruption. In a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said that there is a difference between perception and reality.

According to the statement, which followed comments after the proclamation by President Buhari of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, President Buhari cited a number of high profile prosecution of senior government officials that a former Secretary to the Government and a former state governor who is a party member and now serving term in jail as indications of will and determination to wage the anti-corruption war without fear or favour.

The statement also added that the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Usman Yusuf, is currently on administrative leave as part of President Buhari's commitment to transparency and accountability.
The statement explained that despite some of the suspects being close to the President, he had not shielded them from investigation, administrative suspensions and prosecution.
The Presidency added that it is sheer mischief to suggest that President Buhari is shielding anybody because of their closeness to him, explaining that no official under this administration would go unpunished once they break the law.
On the specific issue of Governor Ganduje of Kano State, the statement noted that Dr. Ganduje, as a sitting Governor, enjoys immunity from prosecution in his own right. Furthermore, under Nigerian laws, a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
In the circumstances, the matter is in court and the President has no power to dictate to the court or the Kano State House of Assembly, which is already investigating the matter, about what to do with the allegations against Ganduje.
The Presidency added that it is unfair to ignore the larger picture of the President's major successes in the war against corruption, including blocking leakages of corruption, which in turn, boosted government revenues.
The statement challenged President Buhari's critics to prove that those facing corruption allegations are innocent, adding that the President's zero tolerance for corruption has boosted and remarkably improved Nigeria's image in the eyes of world leaders.

Woman charges cheating ex £100 for him to be able to talk to her (screenshots)

A woman charged her cheating ex £100 for him to be able to talk to her and screenshots of her chat with him are going viral on Twitter.
19-year-old Toni Osborne recently shared two screenshots on Twitter. One of the screenshots shows her demanding £100 from her ex for him to have the privilege of talking to her. The other screenshot was of him actually sending the money.

Her ex had messaged her asking to talk, and explained that he would be willing to do anything to have a bit of her time.
Toni says that the guy had ‘cheated, abused’ and broken up with her over three years ago, so she thought asking for the money was ‘compensation’.
Below are screenshots of her chat and Twitter users' reactions.

INEC announces plan to probe FG’s TraderMoni scheme

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will probe the TraderMoni micro-credit scheme of the Federal Government.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this to reporters in Abuja while raising several concerns about vote buying by some politicians. He said the electoral body was aware of the controversy trailing the TraderMoni, stressing that they would investigate the scheme for possible violation of campaign finance laws.

Professor Yakubu explained that the commission would study public comments on the scheme and assess whether or not the government violated the campaign finance laws.

According to him, INEC has a mechanism for tracking campaign finance violations by the candidates and various political parties in the country. This comes amid accusations by individuals and groups, including civil society organisations who described the scheme as a form of vote-buying.

Earlier, the INEC chairman addressed senior officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at a strategy meeting which focussed on the general elections.  In his presentation, he highlighted 10 areas of collaboration between the electoral body and the FRSC to ensure the success of the polls.

Aba resident passes through dry gutter following heavy rain that flooded roads but left the drainage dry

The irony in Aba, according to a resident, is that when it rains, the roads get flooded but the drains stay dry.

A resident was pictured walking inside the gutter after it rained because the street was badly flooded so the gutter became the best alternative.

2019: President Buhari is mentally and physically unfit to continue In office - Opposition parties file lawsuit

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) on Thursday said it has initiated Legal Action at Federal High Court to stop President Buhari from participating in 2019 election over what it described as “his Mental and Physical instability.”

In a statement signed by Ikenga Imo ugochinyere, Cupp, First National spokesperson, and Co-Plaintiff and CUPP member, Eunice Atuejide, the CUPP also “raises alarm over DSS plot to flrame, arrest, charge and eliminate Opposition Spokesperson Ikenga to stop him from releasing fresh evidence of plot to steal 5b from DSS election account by former DG DSS lawal Daura, and indicting documents of false assets declaration by key Buhari government appointees.”

According to the statement, “the Opposition political parties have carefully studied President Muhammadu Buhari over the months, especially since his return to the country after the sickness that took him out of Nigeria for the better part of 2017, and have come to the conclusion that he is no longer mentally and physically fit to lead a nation like ours in this century.”
The CUPP went further to provide examples to prove that the President Buhari is not truly fit to carry on with the office and functions of a president.

Quote:The statement reads in part:
“A few recent examples will be necessary here. One, you will recall how the President almost fall flat on his face during his recent campaign visit to Lokoja, Kogi State. Despite that he flew into the town, the few steps the President took at the rally venue had a huge toll on him. When he was invited to the podium, he lost balance immediately he stood up. It was the timely intervention of his aides who were already keeping their eyes on him since they know his health status, that saved us what would have resulted into a national disaster.
A few days after the Kogi episode, a similar scenario played out at the venue of his campaign rally in Kaduna. After he trekked a short distance to his seat, President Buhari was clearly exhausted. He was still managing to wave to those who were already at the venue when he suddenly sunk heavily into his seat even at a time the national anthem was being recited. The seat was his saving grace on that occasion.
Still on his uninspiring ongoing re-election campaigns, we are all witnesses to the embarrassment President Buhari subjected the country to in Warri, Delta State. When it was time for him to present his party’s flag to the State governorship candidate, Great Ogboru, the President embarrassingly referred to the man as “the presidential candidate.” After those who surrounded him corrected him, President Buhari again referred to Ogboru as “the senatorial candidate.” Again, he was corrected and he came up with the most embarrassing one by saying the man is the “governortorial” candidate. The President must be using a different dictionary because the word “governortorial” does not exist in any good dictionary.
You will also recall when he featured on a town hall meeting called “The Candidates” which was broadcast live on the Nigerian Television Authority. Among his various goofs at that event was when he was asked why he is seeking second term and he said since the party leaders chose him, he had to run.
All those who watched that programme will recall how Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo who featured with him struggled very hard to come to his rescue whenever he goes off the track which he did many times. This probably explained why his men did not allow him to participate in the presidential debate organised by the Nigeria Election Debate Group and the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria.
We have come to the conclusion that re-electing Buhari will only empower members of the cabal that his wife admitted has hijacked his Presidency, to rule us for another four years from the dark.
In order to save this great nation the disaster that will follow if President Buhari is in a rare happenstance re-elected, we the opposition political parties have therefore filed litigation in court seeking to declare him unfit to contest for 2019 election because of his mental instability.
We are also seeking from the Court an Order disqualifying President Muhammadu Buhari from contesting the election to the office President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and an injunction restraining INEC from recognizing his candidacy. Nigerians will also be glad to know that to prove that we are on the right path, we are also asking the court to grant an order directing President Buhari to make public the results of the medical examination which we ask that he be subjected to so that no citizen will be in doubt that we are saving the country from calamity by taking these steps.
Stopping President Muhammadu Buhari from foisting himself on Nigeria come February 16th by every legitimate means is a patriotic service to Nigeria.
God forbid we fail! God forbid! God forbid! God forbid!”l

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released a final List of Governorship and House of Assembly candidates in Rivers State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released a final List of Governorship and House of Assembly candidates in Rivers State.

According to our correspondent in the state, absent on the list were the names of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Below are photos of the list as pasted by INEC officials in Rivers state.

INEC had on Thursday, January 17, released a list signed by the commission’s secretary, Rose Orianran-Anthony and while candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Labour Party among others made the list, those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were excluded.

A Federal High court in Port Harcourt, the state capital had nullified the direct and indirect primaries conducted by the two factions of the APC in Rivers.

The court presided over by Justice Kolawole Omotosho held that both primaries were not conducted according to the law.

Justice Omotosho had also restrained the electoral body from recognising Tonye Cole and Magnus Abe as governorship candidates of the APC in the general elections.

Senator Abe was declared the winner of a direct governorship primary conducted by a faction of the party in 2018 after polling 144, 929 votes.

But Cole emerged the winner of an indirect primary held by another faction with 3,329 votes.

Following the rulings. the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers, Obo Effanga, insisted that the electoral umpire would always obey court injunctions.

There are quite a few ways on how you can earn EXP quickly in the game. If you’re a player, the best way would be to clear through the story quests first.
These MapleStory 2 Mesos missions provide a good amount of EXP along with some useful items as rewards. Doing story quests is also a great way to familiarize yourself with the game.
Otherwise, you could always turn to side quests for some extra experience points instead. You’ll see if an NPC has a side quest if they have a blue exclamation point above their head.
If doing quests really isn’t your thing, you can also grind by taking on hordes. There are certain areas in maps where enemies will continue to spawn no matter how many times to defeat them. You can pretty much stay in that area and fend off enough enemies until you reach a certain level.
If you are not satisfied enough with the amount of currencies you have been rewarded with from dungeons, quests, Markets, Vendors, including Mesos, Merets, Onyx Crystals, Treva, Rue, Havi Fruit, Blue/Red Stars etc, there is a special place for you to pay a visit and benefit from - MMOAH.   Court To Decide Buhari's Certificate Saga February 7th
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Even after they removed Onoghen and drafted Okon Abang to Abuja. God is great.

Quote:A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja division has adjourned proceedings in the suit seeking the disqualification of President Muhammadu Buhari from participating in the February 16 presidential election till February 7, 2019.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed fixed the date following a request by the plaintiffs’ counsel for time to respond to the second defendant’s counter-affidavit served on him on Thursday evening.

The plaintiffs, Kalu Agu, Labaran Ismail and Hassy El-Kuris, in the suit, are alleging that the President Buhari lied in his Form CF 001 submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), regarding his educational qualification and certificates.

In the suit filed on November 5, 2018, they are therefore seeking an order of the court to disqualifying Buhari from presenting himself and or contesting for president in the 2019 election.

Defendants in the suit filed on behalf of the plaintiff by Okpai Ukiro, has President Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and INEC as 1st, 2nd and 3rd defendants respectively.

When the matter was called for hearing, plaintiffs’ counsel, Godwin Haruna, who held brief for Ukpai Ukiro, informed the court that the matter was adjourned at the last sitting to January 21 for the hearing of all pending applications but was further adjourned to today January 31, since the court did not sit.

He, however, said he would be asking the court for a short adjournment to enable him to respond to the second defendant’s notice of preliminary objections which he said was filed on January 31 and served on him around 4.30pm.

Haruna who recalled that the processes were served on the APC since November 21 and they just responded only today, asked the court for a cost of N100k against the APC for foisting the adjournment on the court.

He said the defendant had been in court since but never bothered to file its response.

While counsel to President Buhari, Abdullahi Abubakar, did not object to the request for adjournment, counsel to APC, Tayo Lasaki, who said he was not opposed to the adjournment, however, said he was opposing the request for cost against him.

Lasaki said since the second defendant was challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter, it did not matter when the issue was raised.

He also argued that the request for adjournment was made by the plaintiffs and not him, adding that although the second defendant was appearing in the matter for the first time, they were, however, prepared to go on with the matter if the plaintiffs were ready.

Jubilation In Zamfara As INEC Removes APC From Ballot
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 10:44 PM - No Replies

Quote:There were serious jubilations within the opposition parties in Zamfara state as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday disqualified all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state from contesting the 2019 general elections in the state.

According to the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the official release from the commission which excluded the state wing of APC from contesting the elections was a very transparent development.

According to him, INEC has proved to Nigerians that the 2019 general elections would be free, fair, credible and acceptable.

According to him, INEC has obeyed the judiciary, noting that the Federal High court’s judgment supersedes a state High court, appealing to the commission to ensure that Justice prevails in the 2019 general elections.

In another reaction, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi noted that he was waiting for APC in the state to flag off its campaign before going to the appeal court, noting that the INEC has done what was expected of the commission to do.

The presidential candidate of Nigerian Elements Progressive Party (NEPP) Comrade Ishaka Paul Ofemile said he appreciated the decision of INEC.

He noted that Nigeria is so big for anybody to use federal might or power of incumbency to manipulate the decision of over one hundred and fifty million citizens.

On his own part, Senator Garba Kabiru Marafa representing Zamfara central senatorial zone in the Senate pointed out that Governor Abdulaziz Yari wanted to prove to the world that he was the alpha and omega in the State.

The senator noted that Abdulaziz Yari came to the political limelight from nowhere through the political influence of senator Ahmad Sani Yarima.

Senator Marafa noted that even though he was not going to contest the governorship election, he was satisfied that Governor Abdulaziz Yari did not achieve his selfish interest after all.

Meanwhile, all the APC candidates and their supporters have remained silent, waiting for the Governor to enter the state Government House and make a public statement.

It could be recalled that the faction of the governor within the party had conducted the party primary elections in the state which the G8 group, the national headquarters of APC and INEC rejected.

The rejection of the primaries forced the camp of the governor to proceed to court against both the national headquarters of the party and INEC, praying the court to uphold the primaries.

However, the state court 3 sitting in Gusau, the state capital upheld the primaries while the Federal High Court Abuja declared the elections non-acceptable, thereby, upholding the decision of the INEC not to allow the APC candidates in the state to contest the general elections.

It was not yet known what would be the next line of action by the state chapter of the party even though our correspondent gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari is now set for his presidential campaign in the state.

A 32-year-old gay love-vendor identified as Prince Chinecherem, has been arrested alongside a 16-year-old boy in Lagos.

Chinecherem is the ringleader of a gay gang who engaged in their illegal acts in Lekki.

According to Lagos state Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, the suspect was using the teenager as accommercial sex worker, explaining that aside sleeping with him, he also gave him to other men requiring his service.

Their case, Edgal said was worst because both men were tested and found to be HIV positive, which means their customers might have contracted same through them.

Already, the police have declared two prominent pastors and some business executives wanted for allegedly having canal knowledge of the minor and belonging to the illegal group.

It was gathered that Chinecherem, during interrogation, gave the identities of other members of the group including the prominent persons being hunted.

Narrating how they were apprehended, Edgal told reporters that on January 22, at Ejigbo, a teenager was seen sneaking out of Chinecherem’s house in a suspicious manner.

He said curious neighbours accosted him and asked what he had gone to the house to do but he could not answer satisfactorily. He was thereafter asked to open a plastic bag he was carrying and the neighbours saw used condoms with semen inside.

“At this point, the boy revealed that Chinecherem was his lover. The matter was immediately reported to the Police at Ejigbo and the said Chinecherem was arrested for interrogation. . . After preliminary investigation, the matter was called for further enquiry by the Gender Section of the Command.

Both the suspects were taken for medical examination and the result revealed that the boy had long been introduced to homosexual act. The worst is that both of them are infected with HIV virus which causes AIDS,” he said.

@POLITICSNGR

Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk this afternoon reveals that the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) will resume the trial of Justice Walter Onnoghen on February 4, 2019.

Onnoghen, who was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari on January 25, 2019, on a directive issued by the CCT, will face trial over allegations of a fraudulent declaration of assets.

It will be recalled that Onnoghen had filed a suit at the Court of Appeal challenging his trial but his case was dismissed on the ground that the suit was "brought in a vacuum".

APC Reacts To Atiku And Peter Obi's 'the Candidates' Interview,
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 07:19 PM - No Replies

@POLITICSNGR

Below is a Press Statement from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, made available to PoliticsNGR, on the recent appearance of PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Vice Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi on the "The Candidates" Program;

In the aftermath of Wednesday night's televised town hall meeting, The Candidates, attended by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alh. Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi, a redefinition of their presidential campaign slogan, "Let's loot Nigeria again" is now trending heavily in the social media.

Going by Atiku and Obi's shocking confession that their administration will grant amnesty to looters, we are equally shocked and hereby align with the wide section of Nigerians who are now abundantly clear of their intentions if elected and now see the collective need to stop them.

The insistence of Alhaji Atiku and PDP to take us through this dangerous route where the nation's economic policies and programmes are driven mainly by the interests of leaders, their local friends, and foreign partners constitute a present danger every well-meaning Nigerian must rise against. The choices before Nigerians cannot be more clearer.

Those who have looted our resources, stolen the monies meant to build roads, rails, and ports, provide regular and stable electricity for our homes and businesses, provide quality healthcare, create environment conducive for ordinary Nigerians to unleash their creativity and industry, and for all Nigerians to live a rewarding and prosperous lives are working hard to take charge again. It is disturbing that Atiku and his returning mate, Peter Obi, could boldly face the national, and indeed, global audience boasting that the future of our country belongs to the looters.

As a matter of fact, Alhaji Atiku repeatedly told a bewildered nation that those who caused poverty, unemployment, poor infrastructure and misery for many Nigerians under his watch as the Vice President would be left to enjoy our commonwealth as long as they turned in part of what they have stolen. This no doubt must have gladdened the hearts of all the enemies of our country.

In a barefaced manner, the PDP's Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku promised to roll out the red carpet for people who have wickedly teemed up with him under PDP to ruin our country, in an environment such as ours, where many ordinary Nigerians, not being Atiku's friends, are wallowing in prison for stealing their neighbours' goats, phones, foods and such.

While Atiku tries to crowd the public space with falsehood on the ongoing fight against corruption and efforts to ensure credible 2019 general elections, the real issue remains Atiku’s inexplicable desperation to selloff remaining national economic assets to his friends and shadowy foreign concerns as Atiku did in the past and has severally and brazenly promised in his campaigns.

From Atiku’s so-called Dubai strategy meeting, the US excursion to Atiku’s recent letters to some foreign countries calling for their intervention in the 2019 elections, the big question before Nigerians has now been answered by Atiku: His spirited attempt to get foreign validation for his floundering presidential bid is not to serve Nigerians but to pander to the wishes of his friends, and some shadowy foreign concerns and interests.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has pursued a foreign policy based on mutual cooperation with the global community. The result has been our restored respect and standing in comity of progressive nations. This has also resulted in the successes we have recorded in the fight against insurgency, improvement in our previously dilapidated infrastructure and failed economy. These were surely not achieved by mortgaging of national assets for international support or rent-seeking by friends.

Atiku’s bid to trade national assets as an incentive for the support of his friends and foreign investors must be resisted.

For the All Progressives Congress, we would not get tired of reminding the PDP and Atiku that Nigerians will never return to Egypt. The era of unbridled corruption and impunity is one mission the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is determined to FIGHT and WIN under a free, fair, and credible electoral process, with the support of well-meaning Nigerians.

Impeachment: Coalition LLM Threatens To Shut Down Lagos House Of Assembly(PICS)
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 06:11 PM - No Replies

@POLITICSNGR

A coalition of civil society groups under the auspices of Lagos Liberation Movement (LLM) on Thursday threatened to occupy and shut down the Lagos State House of Assembly should lawmakers proceed with the impeachment moves against the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, describing the action as anti-people and treasonable.

The lawmakers had threatened to commence impeachment proceedings against the governor over alleged gross misconduct particularly with regards to the 2019 budget of the State.

But addressing a world press conference at the Airport Hotel in Ikeja, the groups which include Campaign for Democracy (CD), United Action For Democracy (UAD), Centre for Public Accountability (CPA), Democracy Volunteers (DV), Ajegunle Collectives, Lagos People’s Assembly (LPA), Oodua Peoples Congress (Reformed), Yoruba Revolutionary Assembly (YORA) and Ohanaeze Youth, Lagos, said with the development, it was obvious that the Lagos Assembly was becoming a political abattoir for the murder of democracy in Nigeria.

LLM Convener, Comrade Mark Adebayo specifically accused a national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as being the architect of the impeachment saga, and urged all Lagosians and genuine compatriots across the country to strongly resist the move by the Lagos lawmakers against the governor.

He said it was obvious that the whole saga was a direct assault by a few political marauders determined to supplant democracy and jeopardize peace and development in the State, and further perpetuate their political dynasty.

According to Adebayo, “It is public knowledge that some days ago, members of the House commenced what is tantamount to a game of shame and senselessness, the results of which are predictably destructive by the ill-advised commencement of impeachment process against Governor Ambode.

“The question that most Lagosians are asking is ‘why?’. However, the reasons are not farfetched: It is fundamentally the handiwork and retrogressive machinations of political forces of evil determined to keep Lagos State in perpetual bondage of a man playing God over more than 20 million Lagosians with a view to perpetuating a political dynasty of lootocratic recklessness, marauding corruption and a relay regime of nepotistic subjugation accentuated by an intractable malaise of primitive accumulation of the most deadly genre, spearheaded, commanded, guided and goaded by Asiwaju Tinubu we daresay.”

He said the coalition and indeed vast majority of Lagosians were convinced beyond reasonable doubts that the allegations against the governor by the lawmakers were unknown to the constitution, but a move basically propelled desperately by few persons to have unrestricted access to the state’s treasury to squander on their political protégés running for public offices in the forthcoming general elections.

While alleging that the current backlash against the governor was over his refusal to comply with directive by his political godfather to release several billions of naira for elections, Adebayo warned Ambode never to contemplate leaving the state littered with uncompleted projects, saying he still had enough time to complete most of them before the expiration of his tenure on May 29, 2019.

He also accused the lawmakers of having nothing to justify the huge sums collected from government for constituency projects, just as he revealed that a comprehensive petition had been put together to anti-graft agencies and multilateral organizations for the Assembly to account for the N800million being collected as monthly running costs, aside their weekly and monthly allowances.

He also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on Tinubu not to proceed with the impeachment plan as such would be self-destructive, saying it was important for the APC to sort out its internal conflicts without putting the whole state into crises.

“We like to reiterate that Ambode is the governor of Lagos State and not the governor of the APC. If they have internal issues within their Party that should not be allowed to negatively affect the smooth running of government and make people suffer. The whole state cannot be reduced to the parochial shenanigans of a highly corrupted political family.

“The office of governor of Lagos State is beyond Ambode and as such any further humiliation, disrespect and embarrassment from any quarter will be utterly resisted by the people. Lagosians are unequivocal in their view that Ambode is a performing governor based on his style of governance and project execution, and as such, any further attack on him will be tantamount to attacking the People. And no one can win against the people,” Adebayo said.

A married South African woman, Sophie took to Facebook to share the sad story of how her 4-year-old son was killed by armed robbers on Monday, January 20th.  Read her heartbreaking post below:

Quote:
"On Monday,8:30pm,20th January, young 3 arm robbers with guns walked into our back yard, broke the glass door and get into our house.they take everything in our home freely and killed our son with his little pajama on.
This tragedy left me and my husband devastated and traumatized to the extent we felt like we're bad parents.
Ethan was shot and survived two surgeries before his life was ended,
First surgery was successful and when the Docotr came out to say Eth is breathing himself that was the best news I have ever received through that night..but after the second surgery, bleeding was too much,my Son had suffered severe internal injuries to the extent blood was not cloting And that leads to his death.
Doctor came and call me and my husband to come and say our last goodbyes to our son whilst the heartbeat was going down to 0 and finally dead.
I had never imagined in my whole life Eth would dead at some point and leave us,I was always seeing myself died at a late age and leave Eth as an independent grown man..but I was wrong.. I was lying to myself.
Me and my husband we're hardly trying to cope with the situation but it real feels like a dream..we find ourselves crying all the time,we blame ourselves maybe we would have done something extra to save our son's life..alot is going on in our mind .
This is the life that we knew and loved so much prior that night.
Ethan was a very
shy little boy, intelligent, affectionate, friendly and he had a missing baby teeth, and always like to cuddle with his mom.
That was how the life of our little sweet boy was cut short ,the light candle of  happiness into our little family was shot to death.
Until we meet again,my Eth you will always live in my heart. Nakupenda Baba

Schoolgirl, 13, found hanged after telling teachers she was too scared to go home

A schoolgirl was found hanged days after a family dispute over chores. It has now been revealed that prior to her death, she told teachers at her school that she was afraid to go home.

The body of Amber Peat, 13, was discovered in bushes three days after she disappeared from her home in Mansfield, England, after a family dispute.

Teacher Joanne Holland said she previously phoned the girl’s mother Kelly Peat after the girl told her she was afraid to go home.

Speaking at Nottinghamshire Coroner’s Court, Mrs Holland said:

Quote:She was worried about going home because she had lost the belt off her coat.
She basically said she was scared she was going to get told off.
I had to phone home and tell mum, “It really is fine, we will find it”.

School support manager Emma Dunn added Amber was normally pleasant and bubbly but this changed when she was around her parents in a meeting and she became quiet and withdrawn.

In a statement, Miss Dunn said it ‘left her with an uneasy feeling.’
The school meeting took place a year before Amber was found hanged in bushes on June 2, 2015.

Amber was a pupil of Tibshelf Community School at the time the meeting between her parents and the school held. There had been concerns about Amber's behaviour and the meeting was meant to address these but it could not be completed because her mother, who was pregnant at the time, had to leave after becoming ill.

Amber later moved to Queen Elizabeth School in Mansfield soon after the meeting.
Miss Dunn said: ‘She didn’t want to move. I think she was settled, whether they were her words or not.’
The coroner asked: ‘During your time with Amber, was there a mention of self-harm, suicide, anything of that nature?’
Miss Dunn said: ‘None at all.’
The inquest continues.

Emmanuel Rowland, pictured right, said he was heartbroken as he thought he was an only child, not knowing he had a twin brother who was taken by his father after their birth because his parents decided to seperate.

Media personality, Bolanle Olukanni, survives near-fatal accident (photo)

Media personality, Bolanle Olukanni, took to her Instagram page on Thursday afternoon to testify of how she survived a near-fatal accident on January 20th, without a single scratch. She wrote;

Quote:Upper Sunday I was in a life threatening accident with six other people .
I came out without a single scratch. Not one part of my body was affected , no injuries , no minor scratches or cuts . I came out like nothing happened. I can’t explain what it means to me to be sitting here completely whole and healthy after that accident .
A few things I can guarantee is that God is a miracle worker. As the car somersaulted I remember thinking to myself how is this happening to me , why is this happening BUT I also remember feeling like I was being carried, as not one part of my body felt the effects of the car tumbling.

As I pulled myself out of the car after it came to a stop from the somersaulting. I stood on the highway in complete shock asking how did I survive it .
The most interesting thing is moments before the accident I felt the spirit within me say you will give a testimony in two weeks . I didn’t understand. Moments later the accident happened. I am giving my testimony in church this Sunday ???? ( it will be two weeks exactly to the accident) I am eternally thankful to God for what he did for me and the six other people in the car . I can’t explain the level of this miracle . There were Trailers on the road all around us , not one of them hit us as we swerved from left to right on the road .There was no other accident on account of us . I am thankful because Gods mercy said NO to what could have happened to all 7 of us in the car.
When I was a child my mummy used to make me read Pslam 121 almost everyday. The other day , it popped into my mind and I went to read It. I got chills as I realized this prayer and confession that I had said almost everyday for years was the truth in my life . “He who keeps watch over you , neither sleeps nor slumbers. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore .” 2019 is the year of miracles . I pray God will continue to keep us and watch us . #Thankful

Appeal Court Dismisses Metuh’s Appeal, Rejects Request to Travel Abroad for Medicals

The Court of Appeal has dismissed an appeal by a former Spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh, seeking to upturn the decision of a Federal High Court, Abuja, not to release his international passport for him to travel abroad.
Metuh who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for alleged N400 million fraud had on February 22, 2017, through his counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, applied for the release of his passport in order for him to “travel to the United Kingdom for five weeks to attend to his failing health”.
Justice Okon Abang had dismissed the application as “lacking in merit”, and sternly warned his counsel against deploying tactics to delay the trial, which has been ongoing since January 6, 2016.
Dissatisfied with the ruling, Metuh had approached the Appellate Court, praying for the release of his travel document.
The Court of Appeal, however, on January 30, 2019 ruled that his application was “an abuse of court process”, as he failed to disclose cogent reasons for him to seek medical attention abroad.
His trial before Justice Abang continues on February 25, 2019.

Photo: Pastor William Emeka accused of raping four women in South Africa says he fears for his life

One pastor William Emeka, who is accused of raping four women in Bronkhorstspruit, east of Pretoria, fears for his life, his attorney Omoregie Ogboro said today.

Speaking to African News Agency (ANA) shortly after Emeka made another brief appearance in the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate’s Court, Ogboro said Emeka abandoned his bail bid on December 5 last year because he feared being attacked by some members of the public.

“There was a lot of tension and his church was burnt,” said Ogboro.

The 43-year-old Emeka, said to be a Democratic Republic of Congo national, was arrested in November last year and his church was burnt by unknown people near Bronkhorstspruit in the same month. He faces four charges of rape and two of sexual assault.

Allegations are that Emeka asked four female congregants to take off their clothes before he smeared them with anointing oil and then raped them.

On December 5 last year, police saved a Nigerian man from a crowd of people who wanted to attack and throw him out of the same court after he had said he was in court to support Emeka. The man was whisked out of the courtroom by police who then drove him off the premises.

Ogboro condemned what he described as the attack on foreign nationals by members of the public in relation to Emeka’s case.

He appealed to members of the public to give the judicial process a chance, adding that his client would re-apply for bail at a later stage if he felt safe.

“It’s very wrong to attack foreigners,” said Ogboro.
“But the situation was better in court today. I saw signs of maturity among the people. We are looking forward to a speedy investigation into this case so that we can go to trial.”

The matter was postponed to March 5 so that Emeka’s residential address could be verified.

Man's penis fractured during sex with girlfriend then swelled to the size of a bottle

A man's penis snapped while having sex with his girlfriend and it made his male member swell to the size of a wine bottle.

Sean Marsden, 48, was injured while making love to his girlfriend Louise Gray, 36. He says he heard a ‘crack’ after he slipped into the pelvis of his girlfriend. This left him writhing in pain that was ‘off the scale’.

Sean knew instantly something was wrong and they dialled 999. He was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where doctors gave him morphine to dull the pain. Doctors carried out a ‘penile exploration’ and told him he had damaged muscles before discharging him the next day with a temporary catheter, pain killers, a plastic rod along his shaft and his penis wrapped in bandages.

He said his penis swelled to ‘the size of a wine bottle’ soon after the incident and he was unable to walk properly. It was also revealed that, not only had he fractured his penis, he also tore his urethra.

Doctors told him he would have to avoid having sex for a month. But Marsden, who says he has a high sex drive, lasted only 3 weeks before he began having sex again.
However, he’s said he doesn’t want a repeat of the situation.
He told The Sun:

Quote:I am definitely going to be more careful in the future. We need to be more gentle because I can’t afford for that to happen again.

APC Planning To Rig Ogun Governorship Election- Amosun Cries Out
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 03:19 PM - No Replies

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has accused the ruling party of planning to rig the governorship election in the state.

The governor who is contesting a senatorial seat under the party, however said any plot to rig the election will be resisted.

Ibikunle Amosun revealed that there is a grand plan by his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), to rig the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, warning that such plot will fail.

He said this in reaction to the position he took by fielding his preferred candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade on the platform of a different political party, the Allied People's Movement (APM) in protest against his own party, the APC which he accused of rigging the gubernatorial primary election.

The development has pitched the governor against the national leadership of the APC, although he is running for the senatorial seat in the same party.

Speaking on Monday, January 27 at the church service held on the occasion marking the 60th birthday anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Michael Olusina Fape, the Archbishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province, the governor declared that he has taken a position on his preferred candidate and he is still standing on the decision.

“Let us drum it into the ears of everybody that in this government, nobody should give the idea of coming to rig. No, it will not happen,” he said.

Justifying his position about his support for a governorship candidate of a different political party, Governor Amosun said it was a collective decision reached by the APC about two years ago which he said was “upturned by some people overnight.”

He continued: “I have taken a position and I stand by it. It is only a coward who would not take a position at a crucial period".

“They just came from nowhere to upturn what we agreed on about two years ago that it was the turn of Ogun west which had not produced a governor in the forty three years of existence of the state. It will not work.”

Governor Amosun recently said he would not rule himself out from vying for the office of the Senate President if the opportunity presents itself in the nearest future.

Amosun made the comment while interacting with his constituents in Ewekoro local government area of the state as he seeks to represent them in the upper chamber in the 2019 general elections.

The governor stated that he might be disposed to seeking the Senate presidency whenever the slot is zoned to the southwest. (Credit: Naij)

Afenifere Denies Endorsing Buhari - Sahara Reporters

Says Faction That Endorsed Buhari Are Historical Renegades.

The pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, has distanced itself from media reports that it has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid.

The group denounced the endorsement in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday, saying those involved in the endorsement – Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Ayo Fasanmi and Senator Olabiyi Durojaye — were not members of the group.

A statement made available by Yinka Odumakin, the group's National Publicity Secretary, referred to those involved as historical renegades.

The statement read: “We ordinarily would not respond to a gathering of historical renegades but for the sake of the unwary who may have been confused by the nefarious action of these impostors.

“We say without equivocation that minus Senator Ayo Fasanmi, who had a past connection with Afenifere till 2003, and Senator Olabiyi Durojaye, who is presently an employee of Buhari, all the others at the summit including Prof Yemi Osinbajo have never been known in Afenifere.

“If these are Afenifere, they would never have gathered for Buhari’s endorsement in any part of Yorubaland on a day the Nigerian Tribune, the legacy of Obafemi Awolowo who is the founder of Afenifere, was being relaunched.”

Odumakin berated Osinbajo for being absent from the activities held to mark the late sage’s remembrance activities, despite being married to Awolowo’s grand-daughter.

He added: “The godfather of this fake group is, of course, Bola Tinubu who was made governor by Afenifere in 1999, when his real character was not known.

“We tell the Tinubu followers that we don’t deny them the right to support Buhari. If they call themselves South-West Miyetti Allah, it worries us not. They should only stop the fraudulent claim to Afenifere.”

Ekiti Student Caught Hiding His Classmate’s Underwear With Charm Inside Wardrobe

A 100-level student of the department of English Language in the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has been disgraced and handed over to the police after the boxers belonging to his classmate was found tied with charms inside his wardrobe in the school hostel on Monday January 28th.

According to students in the school, the boxers belonged to the representative of Pace Setters Hall of Residence Comrade Akinola Ayomide, popularly known as Mayegun. The underpants were found with Tunde, but popularly known as Zacchaeus

The students claim Zacchaeus is an internet fraudster, also referred to as yahoo yahoo, due to his questionable lifestyle.

Zacchaeus according to his classmates had boasted that he would buy a car before the year ends. There have been cases of missing boxes prior to when he was apprehended but the students had always found the missing boxers.

“We didn’t trust Zaccheus from the beginning. Lately, he has been singing around that he will purchase a car before the end of this year. One of us, who kept his piano in the wardrobe, wanted to take it out when he, unfortunately, saw the calabash hidden inside the wardrobe. On checking it, he found the male underpants of Mayegun. He was able to recognise it because the male underpant has a hole. Mayegun had complained that the underpant had loosened and become too big for him before it disappeared. He called on us and we saw the boxer along with schnapps and other fetish items wrapped around it. When we searched the wardrobe further, we discovered two other underwear.

“This provoked other residents of the hostel who resorted to demonstration. The angry students descended on Zacchaeus and almost beat him to a pulp. Zacchaeus was on the verge of being set ablaze when he was rescued by the porters in the residence, who immediately got in touch with the Director of Students’ Affairs, who in turn, called the security personnel. The Directorate of Students’Affairs, the security personnel, and student representative bodies immediately rushed, to the scene to control the situation” a student of the school told The Nation

The victim who was beyond shock, said

Quote:I went to town yesterday and on my way back, I saw one of my friends who pointedly told me: ‘You have been used’. I couldn’t understand this until I was taken to the room of Zacchaeus where I saw my underwear in a kind of calabash along with schnapps and some fetish items wrapped around it. I could hardly wait for Zacchaeus’ arrival and I asked him how my underwear got to his wardrobe along with those charms. He tried to escape, but we chased and grabbed him

The Director of Student Affairs in the school, Charles Egunjobi, described the incidence as ‘unbelievable and unexpected’, promising that management would treat the matter with despatch.

Quote:This is really unusual of the school. The management has issued a directive that the guy should be handed over to the police. As you can see, the police from the Ikere-Ekiti Area Command are here. Next time, when students are involved in a situation like this, I expect them find a lasting solution through non-violent means. The students aren’t supposed to make a noise or take laws into their hands

Onnoghen: Osinbajo, NBA Ponder Six-point Resolution.
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 11:32 AM - No Replies

A 12-man Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) team has met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on how to resolve the row over Justice Onnoghen’s suspension.

The session at the Presidential Villa was to seek a “soft landing” for the CJN, who is expected to resign in what a source described as a “win-win” situation.

There is a six-point terms of resolution to be delivered to Justice Onnoghen through his confidants, relatives and friends, who will be expected to persuade him to quit.

According to sources close to the talks, the NBA team, led by its National President Paul Usoro (SAN) and two former Presidents met with Osinbajo on Sunday night till the wee hours of Monday in a frank session.

Also at the meeting were senior lawyers, including ex-NBA President A, B. Mahmood (SAN), Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) and others.

A source in NBA, who spoke in confidence, said: “I am aware that 12 of our leaders met with the Vice President, who is a senior member of the bar, on how to find a lasting solution to the crisis in the Judiciary. Some of them have briefed us that they went to the Villa to meet the VP.

“The meeting reviewed the issues which led to the suspension of Onnoghen, including the allegations against the CJN, the filing of charges at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, restraining orders by some courts and the ex parte order by the CCT.

“Our leaders restated the fact that they disagreed on the procedure adopted by the government in handling, Onnoghen matter. They virtually repeated the case presented at the CCT since some of them are Onnoghen’s lawyers. But they said the National Judicial Council (NJC) ought to have handled the matter.

“They also faulted the government for a allegedly trying to desecrate the Judiciary since Onnoghen symbolises the highest authority in this arm of government.

“At the end of the day, they sought for soft landing for the CJN who has no immunity under the 1999 Constitution.

“They also explained that it was wrong for the Acting CJN, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, to have made himself available for inauguration when a ruling of the Court of Appeal was being awaited.”

Responding to a question, the source said: “Well, we were told the VP who was with some unnamed people , accorded the NBA team utmost respect. They said he listened to them and assured them that President Muhammadu Buhari or himself will never do anything to destroy the Judiciary.

“The legal and moral burden on Onnoghen were mutually discussed at the session by both the NBA and the government team. It dawned on everybody from NBA that the minimum the government will accept is the resignation of Onnoghen.

“The NBA however sought a dignified exit for Onnoghen through either resignation or retirement without trial. They proposed that the Acting CJN should also proceed on retirement.”

The VP is said to have assured the NBA team that he will convene their requests to the government.

The source put the terms discussed by NBA at the session as follows:

CJN to resign or retire without coercion;
Govt to withdraw all charges against Onnoghen;
no molestation of CJN under any guise;
Acting CJN should quit;
NBA team to prevail on relatives, friends to persuade Justice Onnoghen to resign; and
consensus on the need to clean up the Judiciary (long term measure).
The source added: “To be sure that the parties will keep to the terms, it was agreed that as Onnoghen is quitting his job, the government will simultaneously withdraw the charges against the CJN, the source said.

In a separate development, a minister confirmed last night that some representatives of the CJN had opened talks with the Federal Government on “how to resolve the crisis in the bench” by the two arms of the government.

The source said: “I think dialogue is ongoing but I cannot say much on this. It is in the interest of all to resolve the logjam before we go to the poll.

“The stage we are now is the demand that the CJN should be allowed to retire without prosecution. Those sympathetic also do not want the cash in his accounts seized from him. They were of the strong opinion that the Federal Government also erred in suspending Onnoghen with a suspicious order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

“The government believes the CJN cannot go without forfeiting the huge cash. That is the challenge at hand.

“But while the two sides have opened up dialogue, Onnoghen has gone to the court to challenge his suspension.”

Saraki Won’t Return To Senate, APC Vows

Saraki Won’t Return To Senate, APC Vows

Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday said it had not given up on its belief that Senate President Bukola Saraki was a usurper who needed to vacate his position since he now belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is in minority at the Senate.

The party also said it was confident that the forthcoming elections would dash Saraki’s hopes of returning to the Senate as the people of Kwara Central would reject him as their representative at the polls.

Saraki was elected as Senate President in June 2015, much to the chagrin of the APC leadership which had pencilled down Senator Ahmed Lawan for the position. Several efforts by the party to remove him from the position have failed.

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the APC National Chairman, has been at the forefront of Saraki’s removal since his defection to the PDP. He insisted that the position was for the APC, the party with majority members.

On his part, Saraki has vowed to keep his seat, saying he would only step down if he lost the support of majority of senators.

Speaking with Daily Independent, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, said the party had not given up on its position that Saraki was a usurper who should vacate his position for the APC.

He, however, said it would not allow Saraki distract the party and the government of President Muhammadu Buhari from fulfilling its promises to Nigerians.

He said: “We have never given up on the issue of Saraki remaining in position as Senate President. We will continue to regard him as a usurper.

“There is nowhere in the world, in a presidential system of government, where the minority sits as the leader of the National Assembly, be it in the Senate or House of Representatives. It is for the party in the majority to decide who the leader is.

“Though we see him as a usurper, we are a serious government. We have a responsibility towards governance.

“This is somebody whose main interest is to ensure that we don’t have the opportunity to do those things that we have promised to do for the people of this country.

“We won’t allow such a person to constitute a hindrance to governance. So, we have to be practical and pragmatic as possible in a way that we will be able to deliver on our promises.

Issa-Onilu also said the APC was confident that Saraki would not return to the Senate for another term.

“We know that election will take care of him. His people are going to reject him. The people of Kwara Central will reject him at the polls come February. So, he is not a major issue for us now.

“The major task before us is to continue to execute those major projects that we are executing, come up with policies and programmes that will positively impact on the lives of Nigerians.

“We are focusing on things that will make Nigerians renew our mandate in this election. But that doesn’t mean we ignore the fact that he is a usurper who is sitting on the seat that doesn’t belong to him,” he said.

Also speaking to Daily Independent, Saraki who spoke through Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, his Special Adviser on Media, described the statement by the APC as an empty wish which would not materialise.

He also sounded a note of warning that the APC would meet its waterloo in Kwara if it attempted to rig the elections through federal might.

He said: “It is an empty wish. They are not God who can determine the future of anyone. The people of Kwara know those who are with them.

“These people talking are visiting politicians to Kwara. They are the type of people we refer to as seasonal politicians.”

No Candidates For APC In Zamfara, INEC Insists
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 11:28 AM - No Replies

Omeiza Ajayi

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has insisted on its earlier decision to bar the ruling All Progressives Congress APC from fielding candidates for state and federal elections in Zamfara state.

The commission which had earlier said it would release the final list of governorship and state assembly candidates on Thursday however stated this late Wednesday in a statement by Festus Okoye, one of its National Commissioners and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee. The statement reads: “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) met today, 30th January 2019 and among other things approved the final list of candidates for the Governorship State Assembly and FCT Area Council elections scheduled to hold on 2nd March 2019. On the whole, there are 1, 066 candidates for the Governorship elections, 14, 583 for the State Assembly elections and 806 for the FCT Area Council elections broken down into 105 Chairmanship candidates and 701 Councillorship candidates. “The Commission reviewed the situation concerning the All Progressives Congress (APC) fielding candidates for the Governorship and State Assembly elections in Zamfara State. Commission noted that there are two court judgements on the matter one from a State High Court in Gusau and the other from a Federal High Court in Abuja. The former judgement clearly said that the APC conducted primaries in Zamfara State, contrary to the position of the Commission. On the other hand, the Federal High Court in Abuja ruled that the party did not conduct valid primaries and therefore is ineligible to field candidates for the elections.

The Commission would like to reaffirm its commitment to obeying all court judgements, even when it disagrees with them. However, these are clearly two contradictory judgements delivered by two courts of coordinate jurisdiction on the same day. “Consequently, the Commission has decided to maintain its original position that the party in question did not conduct primaries and therefore, in line with Section 87 of the Electoral Act 20l0 (as amended), is not eligible to field candidates for the National Assembly, Governorship and State Assembly elections in Zamfara State. “Commission also reviewed various aspects of its preparedness for the 20l9 general elections and expressed satisfaction with the overall preparations for the elections. A meeting with all the Resident Electoral Commissioners will take place next week to further review the state of preparedness of each State”, INEC stated. (Credit: Vanguard)

Hotel workers have been accused of killing it's London returnee-owner, Mrs Abimbola Olusola, alongside one Tunji Omikunle the manager of the facility in Lagos.

A gang which included some workers of Etashol Hotel and Suites, located on Budland Street in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State, were accused of drugging, tying up and strangling the deceased. The hotel workers who were accused of killing the London returnee-owner who launched the business in March 2018, had issues with it.

It was learnt that some of the workers defrauded the hotel of millions of naira and two of the workers were reportedly sacked, after the police were invited to look into the matter. In an alleged revenge move, the gang said to have consisted some of the sacked workers and some still in the employment of the hotel, stormed the hotel, deactivated the Closed Circuit Television cameras on the premises, dragged the manager into a toilet, where his hands and feet were tied.

Sources claim that after Tunji was strangled, the gang proceeded to Olusola’s room and strangled the lady who stayed in the UK for 35 years before returning to Nigeria. Relatives of the victims who found their bodies at the hotel, reported the incident at Ojodu Abiodun Police Station.

A relative who pleaded anonymity, told Punch that Olusola was planning to lease out the hotel and return to London when tragedy struck.

“The incident happened on Thursday night cum Friday morning. I was called that my sister had been murdered by the boys working for her in the hotel.

“From what I learnt, the manager had dragged one of them, called Light, to a police station for involvement in fraud in the hotel. There were also cases of stealing involving these guys. Two of them were sacked.

“On Thursday night, the men tied Tunji’s hands and feet and strangled him. I think it was after they had killed Tunji that they got access to the card that opens my sister’s room. They went to her bed, tied her up and strangled her.”

Removal of Walter Onnoghen is an Islamic agenda- Nigerian Christian Elders Forum says

The National Christian Elders Forum have described the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen and appointment of Justice Tanko Muhammad as acting CJN, as an Islamic agenda and have called on all Nigerians to resist the Islamists in the country.
In a statement  titled, “CJN Onnoghen: What is really at stake and the way out.” and released yesterday, the elders which include Lt.Gen. Theophilus  Danjuma,  Solomon Asemota (SAN),  Prof. Joseph Otubu, Gen. Joshua Dogonyaro (retd.), Dr  Kate Okpareke, Dr Ayo Abifarin, Gen. Zamani Lekwot (retd.), Elder Moses Ihonde, Elder Nat Okoro and Elder Matthew Owojaiye, alleged that Nigerians unwittingly elected an Islamist organization in 2015 and must do everything to ensure they do not return to power in 2019.
Read part of their statement below

Quote:“In 2015, Nigerians unwittingly elected an Islamist government into office, supposedly on a platform of democracy. It is with this as background that the questionable suspension of the CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, should be situated. The ‘judicial coup’ is not only against the judiciary, but also the constitution that is under attack and with it, the sovereignty of the Nigerian state as a democratic nation.
“Islamism is not a religion but a political ideology which holds that wherever Islam is, Islam must dominate.
That is one reason why Islamism is called “political Islam. However, while all Islamists are Muslims, all Muslims are not Islamists. The National Christian Elders Forum is calling on Nigerians to mobilise to resist the Islamists in Nigeria and ensure that they do not return to power again so that Nigerians can concentrate on building a just and equitable society.
In order to put an end to the recurring decimal of violence, conflicts, suspicion, distrust, insecurity, poverty and other vices plaguing Nigeria, NCEF reiterates that Nigerians should ensure that Islamists are not voted into power in 2019.”

Half-naked woman caught masturbating in public continued the act even after she was arrested

A half-naked woman was caught masturbating in public and was arrested. But she continued masturbating even as police handcuffed her and put her in a police car.
Dovie Nickels, 26, was seen performing the sex act on the patio of the JW Marriott Hotel in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday evening. Austin PD officers were called to the hotel after a worker claimed to have seen Nickels ‘holding a silver object’ against her privates ‘with her legs straight up in the air, spread open.’
The woman is accused of continuing to behave indecently after she was arrested with no pants on while performing a solo sex act.
According to court documents seen by the Austin American Statesman, the worker who walked in on the scene ‘could hear Nickels making moaning noises.’ When he tried to approach her to tell her to stop what she was doing, she yelled at him to get back.
Nickels is said to have spent around seven or eight minutes masturbating on that patio, before moving to the terrace of the nearby Second Bar + Kitchen to continue pleasuring herself.

When approached by a cop, she is said to have stopped moving her arms under the table and placed them on top of it. It was then police officers noticed that Nickels was not wearing any pants.
After being arrested, cuffed, and put in the back of a cruiser, she is said to have continued masturbating.
Nickels, whose Facebook page lists her as a worker for Sonic Drive-In, has been charged with indecent exposure and is currently in Travis County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bond.

Fresh outbreak of Lassa fever kills 50 people In Ondo state

Lassa fever has reportedly killed 50 people in Ondo state, leaving residents and medical practitioners worried.

Sources at the Federal Medical Center, FMC, Owo, revealed that the state government is struggling to curb the spread of the disease. A medical practitioner at the health facility revealed that the situation is almost beyond control adding that they have run out of space at the isolation ward where these patients are being treated.

Pleading anonymity, the source also revealed how a Lassa Fever patient “mysteriously” disappeared from the hospital.

She blamed the incident on the negligence of some of her colleagues.

Quote:“What we currently facing, is quite beyond what anyone would ever imagine. Almost all the patients in the isolation ward are those that have contracted Lassa fever and most of the reported cases are from the border communities within Ose Local Government area of the state.
It’s quite sad how the state government is not even attending to the situation. Citizens are dying from preventable disease, but the government is not showing any concern at all.”
The Nation reports that the State Commissioner Of Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, insisted on the fact it would take the combined effort of stakeholders to fight the disease as the state would be unable to handle the situation on its own. He revealed that it cost about N1.2m to treat one Lassa patient, which was far too high for the state to afford considering the number of people infected.

Crude Oil Not Sold For $100 In 16 Years Of PDP – Atiku
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 01-31-2019, 10:04 AM - No Replies

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday punctured the claim by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government that oil price hovered at $100 per barrel in the 16 years of PDP’s rule, saying it was only sold for that price in two years of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Besides, he said his former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo inherited a crude oil price of $11 per barrel yet took Nigeria out of recession, cleared the country’s foreign debts and grew the economy by six percent.

He stated this while delivering the quarterly business lecture of Lagos Island Club where he spoke on “My vision to get Nigeria working again”, saying the current structure of the country is not working.

He said for Nigeria to develop into a united, prosperous and secure nation, it must adopt a new economic management model and a new political structure “that will cure all the federating units of their addiction to oil revenues”.

Atiku said the present administration came into power and took Nigeria to recession while drawing back the economic gains of the previous administrations under the PDP.

He said though the country is blessed with the human resources to make quantum leap from a third world nation to a developed country, the last four years had witnessed deterioration in all aspects of human development.

According to him, “unemployment has unfortunately been our only booming industry with over 13 million people joining the ranks of people without a job, which now totals 21 million.”

He said the actions and inactions of government had weakened investors’ confidence in Nigerian economy, noting that Ghana with a population of 13 million people attracted more Foreign Direct Investments (FDI).

“In order to reverse the trend, our economic policy would be more coherent, consistent and therefore more predictable by the business community. Nothing could be more threatening to investment flows than an environment that is full of policy flip-flops”, he said.

He reiterated that if elected, he would run a private sector-driven government towards enhancing the capacity of private businesses to create jobs.

According to him, unlike during Obasanjo’s presidency when there used to be regular meetings with Chief Executive Officers of major companies, nothing of such is presently happening.

He lamented that there is no council of privatization in place, saying it stopped during Jonathan’s administration.

“The AtikuPlan recognizes the private sector as the engine of growth of our economy. A strong, productive and pro-growth private sector is needed to create wealth, generate employment opportunities and help fight poverty.

“We pledge to improve government consultations with the private sector in policy design and policy implementation. We will work with the Organized Private Sector to identify ways to reduce the cost of borrowing, tackle incidences of multiple taxations and improve availability of foreign exchange for legitimate production input purchases”.

Nbc Sanctions Nta, Ait, Channels, Tvc Over Hate Speech
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:By Zakariyya Adaramola

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has sanctioned four major television stations in the country over hate speech.

The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), African Independent Television (AIT), Channels TV and Television Continental (TVC) were sanctioned for allowing hate speeches by politicians from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to be aired on their networks, the Director General of NBC, Malam Is’haq Modibbo Kawu said during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Malam Modibbo Kawu, who didn’t mention what sanctions against the media houses were, said the letters to the affected organisations notifying them about the sanction were awaiting delivery in his office.

He said the four stations failed to shut out chieftains of both parties who wilfully engaged in hate speeches during their political campaigns.

He said: ‘’Broadcasters have huge responsibility of protecting and guiding our democracy; and we have a very huge responsibility of ensuring that we don’t promote violence or anything that can lead to it.

“We have discovered that despite our repeated warnings some broadcast stations still allow politicians to let out hate speeches which are capable of throwing this country into crisis.

“We have prepared sanctions and the letters to this effect will be delivered to them soonest. These broadcast stations include NTA, AIT, Channels, TVC and some other radio stations.’’

He advised media houses against allowing themselves to be used by politicians, warning that this would affect their credibility.

On digital switchover, he said the process was still on course and had not been stalled as claimed by some people.

He said a new timeline of next 15 months as a completion period had been set.

Within the period, he said, the NBC would take the digital switch-over to about 60 million Nigerians across the country.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 31ST JANUARY.

LOVE IS GOD’S SOLUTION.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear… (1 John 4:18).

In 1 Samuel 16, we read something really inspiring about the love of God. God had instructed Samuel to go to the house of Jesse and anoint one of his sons to be king of Israel. But Samuel was afraid. He said to the Lord, “If Saul hears it, he will kill me.”

Saul was the king of Israel at the time, and Samuel was more afraid of King Saul than of God, because he knew that God was loving, merciful and kind. So, God said, “Okay, here’s what you’ll do: organise for a sacrifice and invite Jesse for the sacrifice, and if Saul hears about it, just tell him you came to sacrifice to the Lord.”

Can you imagine that? God already had His plan, but now, Samuel was going to influence God’s plan, because of fear. But guess what? God yielded! He found a way to make what He wanted Samuel to do easier for him. One would have expected that God would say, “What? I’m God! I’m telling you what to do; go do it boy; no one can kill you!” But no; God isn’t like that.

When He gives you an instruction or a direction, He watches to see your response or reaction. He may even consider your excuses and make some adjustment for you, just as in the case of Samuel. However, He doesn’t want you holding on to your fears. Our opening verse says perfect love casts out fear.

Many have a problem doing God’s perfect will because of either selfishness or fear. However, the solution to both of them is love. Love has no selfishness, and love has no fear. Love is God’s solution to man’s real problems. You may disobey God and go after your own agenda, or because of fear you may disobey Him and go in another direction. But the truth is, when you learn to walk in love and open your heart to the reality of His personality, you’ll always be in sync with Him.

However, no man can ever walk in love until he discovers Jesus. When you get to know Jesus, things change. This is why we preach the Gospel, so that men may know Jesus, and understand the love of God and learn to walk in His love.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for your love, and your Spirit who lives in me, guiding me to fulfil your will for my life. Your love is the basis for my life’s decisions, and my deepest desire is to be all you created me to be, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Ephesians 3:17-19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

John 15:9-11 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full.

#TALKINGSESSION

31ST JANUARY.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the presence of your Spirit in my life, which has ushered me into a life of unending blessings. Today, I take advantage of the miracle-working power of your Spirit in me, to subdue the elements of this world. I walk in the greater manifestation of Your blessings, healings, prosperity,

and power. I am alive unto You; therefore, I am sound, excellent, vibrant, righteous, healthy and aglow in the spirit. Update: Passenger arrested due to hoax bomb threat onboard Air peace plane

 • Pax has a history of mental instability-FAAN

AN unnamed passenger on board Air Peace Flight P4 7121, Abuja-Lagos has been taken into custody by security agents for alerting the airline on a bomb onboard the aircraft that turned out a hoax.

However, it has been revealed that the passenger has a history of mental illness which may have caused his outburst on the aircraft

Passengers onboard Air Peace, according to the airline, commended the crew of the flight for prioritizing their safety and returning to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja after receiving information that there was an explosive on board the aircraft.

A statement issued by the Corporate Communications Manager of the carrier, Mr. Chris Iwarah confirmed the incident, saying the operating crew acted professionally and took the decision to return as a precaution.

He attributed the false information to an intending passenger who was denied boarding after the crew suspected that he might be mentally challenged.

“We confirm that Air Peace Flight P4 7121, Abuja-Lagos on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 returned to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja after the crew received information that there was a dangerous item on board.

“In line with procedures and our high safety standards, the captain-in-command acted professionally, briefed passengers on board and took the decision to return as a precaution. The aircraft landed in Abuja without any incident and passengers disembarked normally to enable security personnel conduct a check.

“Passengers on board the flight were screened a second time and the aircraft thoroughly checked. At the end of the exercise, the information was found to be a hoax as nothing was found on the aircraft. The aircraft was subsequently cleared to depart for Lagos and safely landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at about 11.44 a.m.

“The passenger who gave the information has since been taken into custody by security operatives for exhaustive investigation into the incident.

“We commend our valued customers on board the flight for their calm and cooperation while the checks lasted. The safety, security and well-being of our customers and crew will continue to be our priority at all times,” Air Peace said.
Meanwhile, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) throwing more light to the situation  explained that the passenger travelled with family who explained his situation.

The airport authority through Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu said security agencies abs medical experts are assessing the passenger but that the flights have been checked and cleared.

“Following the false information, officers of FAAN’s aviation security swiftly evacuated the aircraft passengers. Crew and cargo and a bomb squad immediately conducted a thorough check of the aircraft.”

FAAN moves PH local operations to old int’l terminal, collapses makeshift tent

FOLLOWING  the recent commissioning and movement of international operations to the new Port Harcourt International Airport, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has collapsed the make shift tent at the airport and moved all domestic arrivals to the old international terminal.

Also, the former local departure lounge will henceforth serve as local arrival hall, while the erstwhile international departure lounge has now been converted to local departure lounge.
Recall, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Engineer Saleh Dunoma during the commissioning of the new international at Port Harcourt stated that the relocation would give room for the completion of the old terminal to be put to domestic use.

He said,”Work is going on there(local terminal) it’s a bit slow but work is going on. Of course there are issues because it is not like this ( new terminal) where you conceive and you start construction. We are combining operations with construction and sometimes the contractor is hindered because he cannot go full capacity because we have to accommodate our passengers. It is slow but we will get there, we are almost there. ”

“We are also pushing but now that this is commissioned by the time we move out the international operations here, then we will have a lot of space to work on at the other terminal.”

I Have Never Been In A Position Of Abusing Trust - President Buhari

POLITICSNGR

President Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Feb. 16 presidential election, has pledged to sustain the ongoing war against corruption if re-elected.

PoliticsNGR was informed that Buhari made the promise while addressing a crowd of APC supporters who thronged the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium in Abakaliki on Wednesday for the APC presidential mega rally.

He said that his administration’s commitment to repositioning the country and sustaining the anti-graft campaign were irrevocable.

Buhari said that fighting corruption was a difficult task, but that his administration would not relent in the struggle.

”We are fighting broad war against corruption and this system is a difficult process but we are doing our best by trying to reorganise the Nigeria Police Force and Judicial system.

”When we vote people into public office who are without houses and good cars, within two years they will own cars, build houses in Abuja, Europe and America.

”When we investigate them, we arrest them and take them to court and when we take them to court, we hope that they will be prosecuted.

”The important thing that I assure you is that I as a President today have never been in a position of abusing trust.

”As a governor in the defunct North-East state now made up of the six states, as a minister of Petroleum for over three years and as a former Head of State, I was arrested, detained and investigated but they never found anything against me.

”So, we will stand against anything that hinders our development as a nation because God has given us people, God has given us resources.

”If you vote me back I will make sure we realise the potentialities of our people and use the resources God has given us to make life better for the people and he future generation,” he said.

The President said is administration had achieved success in the implementation of the three key cardinal programmes it promised to pursue during the 2015 presidential campaign – the anti-graft war, insecurity and rebuilding of the economy.

He said that the military had successfully freed the local government areas previously occupied by the Boko Haram insurgents.

The President said that the nation’s economy has been repositioned through agriculture and agro-based businesses and added that the country was no longer importing rice as it used to.

”We asked the Ministry of Agriculture and the Central Bank to give soft loans to our farmers and those who don’t have something doing and who do not feel too big to farm went to the farm.

”Today we have achieved food sufficiency and the money we have saved from rice and food importation we use to provide infrastructure.

”We are building roads, we are building rail lines and gateways for new rail way lines and we are committed to restoring the confidence of people in good governance,” he added.

The President who thanked the people of Ebonyi for the rousing welcome urged them to vote for him and other candidates of the APC in the forthcoming general elections.

Earlier, the Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, said that Buhari had performed well to deserve re-election and urged the people to vote massively for the re-election of the president and other candidates of the party in Ebonyi.

Rotimi Amaechi, Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, and Minister of Transportation and Dr Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, accompanied the President to Ebonyi.

Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman presented the party’s governorship flag to Sen. Sonni Ogbuoji, Ebonyi APC governorship candidate.

A 32-year-old man, Jibrin Abu, pictured above, has been arrested by the police in Niger state for allegedly beating his wife, Victoria, to death with a piece of wood over allegations that she cheated on him.
According to the police, Abu who hails from Dabogi village in Lapai, used a piece of wood to beat his wife to death for failing to heed to his warning that she should stop talking on phone to male friends.
Narrating what happened, Abu said his wife is a disgrace to womanhood. He accused her of bringing men into their matrimonial home and that he killed her to save his family name from shame.

Quote:“I used a wood to kill her after several warnings for her to desist from taking calls from men in my house. I have been suspecting that my wife was sleeping around with other men in my village but in the heat of argument, I killed her.  My late wife brought men into our matrimonial home and my culture abhors such an act; that was why I killed her to save the family from the shame,” he added.
Confiirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Muhammad Abubakar, said Abu, after killing his wife, attempted to commit suicide by drinking Sniper insecticide,  but he was rushed to the Lapai General Hospital by police operatives and was treated.
Abubakar added that Abu would be charged to court soon.

Nigerians Accuse Buhari Of Selling Country Assets To Friends And Families
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 01-30-2019, 02:10 PM - No Replies

Quote:In a Twitter Poll conducted by Philip Obin, the handler of APC Nigeria Twitter handle, 24,000 Nigerians have voted Buhari as the most likely candidate to sell of National Assets to friends and families. 53% of the voters were of this opinion.

Recall that various civil society groups have asked for investigation into the ownership of Keystone Bank and 9Mobile, which are all alleged to be owned by Buhari's family. This has since sparked off massive distrust accross the nation for the former dictator, whose matra is to eradicate corruption.

In an APC rally, the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole stated that once anyone is a friend and family of the APC, that no matter what the person has done or stolen, that the sins will be forgiven. Nigerians have seen this, including Buhari's affinity with accused people like Orji Kalu and Joshua Dariye, who even in prison for corruption, is a member of Buhari's campaign team.

By February 16th, Nigerians will go to the poll and the question will be; is our National Assets best used for public enrichment or familial enrichment?

Afenifere Challenges Buhari To Declare His Assets
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 01-30-2019, 01:03 PM - No Replies

The Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to publicly declare his assets.

Leader of Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti made the call while reminding Buhari of the promises he made in 2014 that he would declare his assets.

In a letter he personally signed entitled “I pledge to Nigeria”, Fasoranti said the president had vowed before the electorate that all his political appointees would only earn salaries and allowances as prescribed by the Revenue and Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMFAC).

He said:

Quote:“I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees to publicity declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment.

“It is now four months to the end of the four-year tenure of Mr. President and this pledge has not been fulfilled. Instead of doing what he pledged, presidential aides have been giving all manners of untenable excuses in the last three and a half years.

“This is a moral burden as it is said that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands and that examples are better than precepts.”

The Afenifere leader stated that a leader must not set for others, standards that are very difficult for him to meet in the order of “do as I say and not as I do”.

He said:

Quote:“The jeopardy of President Buhari anti-corruption war has really been one set of rules for the goose and another set for the gander.

“Afenifere therefore asks the president to immediately make his assets declaration form public so Nigerians can hold him as a man of his words.

“Such a power of example sets greater tone for good conduct in society than a thousand arbitrariness in the name of fighting corruption. The true meaning of leadership is being able to lead by higher standards.”

Nigeria In SOS Situation Under Buhari - US Center For Security

Quote:The United States Centre For Security Studies declares that Nigeria under Buhari is in a SOS situation, and recommends immediate intervention before it explodes.

The world is rising up against tyrannical tendencies which include complete disregard for the rule of law, total disregard for court orders , spending without appropriation, extra judicial killing and slaughter, and many other undemocratic activities of this administration.

Recall that last week the US ambassador in response the Buharis statement on interference stated that the United States government is interested in Nigerias democracy because what affects Nigeria will have grave consequences around the world.

HOW TO COOK NIGERIAN SOUPS WITHOUT SEASONING CUBE

[Image: Nigerian-ogbono-soup-cooked-with-green-v...C350&ssl=1]

Cook delicious soup without seasoning cubes.

Good tasting! All Nigerian soups  can be cooked without seasoning cubes., I just found out oh!  I am one person that always argued in the past that Nigerian soups need seasoning cubes for  a balanced taste…
Not that seasoning cubes are bad. They are not. Contrary to what most people believe, The MSG in seasoning cubes is not hazardous to human health in any way. Chinese meals are cooked with MSG… How many Chinese women have seen lying down with cancer? Let’s hear you…
If anyone thinks that MSg is bad and still cooks with seasoning cubes, then know that you are eating MSG daily and yet still alive and healthy.
The reason I cooked this Ogbono soup without seasoning cubes is not because I want to stop using seasoning cubes, NO. It’s because after tasting the stock, I realised there was no need for any seasoning cubes. The dried stockfish head, meat and crayfish made the difference. Stockfish heads are tasty and really salty. That combined with seasoned beef and ground crayfish perfectly replaced seasoning cubes and gave me. a delicious pot of ogbono soup.  The soup is long finished and I am the only one that knows there was no seasoning cube in there.
There is no need for fermented locust beans (dadawa),iru, okpe or ogiri. No need for any local seasoning or standard Nigerian stock cubes that we add to cooking.
What I’m seriously thinking of doing now is use these ingredients in Nigerian tomato stew without seasoning cubes, and see if it works. Seasoning cubes may not be quite ok if you add too much o cooking. Add them in moderation and you are good to go after all, too much of everything is bad, including bouillon cubes (Seasoning cubes).
I love the enhanced taste that seasoning cubes give to our Nigerian soups and now very excited that I can enjoy that taste by just adding enough quantities of crayfish, stockfish head and  steamed beef to my soups.
FOR THIS OGBONO SOUP COOKED WITHOUT SEASONING STOCK CUBES
I used
1 kg meat
1/2 cup ground crayfish
1 medium sized dried stockfish head
1/2 cup chopped okra
1/2 cup ground ogbono
1/2 cup chopped ugu leaves (Fluted pumpkin)
1/4 cup palm oil
Kpomo (Cow skin)
Salt to taste
1 small onion to boil the beef
Ground Pepper (Scotch bonnets) They are my fav. The pepper I use most aside green bell peppers
DIRECTION:

 1. Boil the washed beef in low heat with onion and salt only until it begins to boil.
 2. Add the washed dried stockfish head, stir and let it boil together with the meat. When pot begins to dry up, add some water just to the level of the meat, check for salt and adjust if needed.
 3. Add your soft kpomo ( I always buy very soft cow skin for easy cooking and chewing)
 4. Add the palm oil and let it boil before adding ground ogbono and crayfish. Check for taste again and let the soup base cook until oil and every other ingredient is well mixed. Check that all the meats are tender enough before adding vegetables.
 5. Once the okra and ugu leaves are added, stir, simmer for about a minute or more , check for salt before turning off the heat.
 6. Serve your soup without telling anyone there’s no seasoning cube. Wait and see them enjoy your delicious pot of ogbono soup like they enjoyed mine.

Finally, I still maintain that seasoning cubes are not poisonous but we can still cook delicious meals without them. Can  people just stop all that campaign against seasoning/stock cubes and instead advise people to cook with less. The Monosodium Glutamate (msg) in seasoning cubes is not poisonous neither does it make people fall sick. That’s what most Chinese restaurants cook with and they are among the healthiest people on planet earth abi na lie?
Enjoy your delicious soup with some fiber filled hot eba!

Onnoghen: 1,000 Youth Groups Back Buhari On Suspension Of Ex-CJN
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Gimbiya - 01-30-2019, 12:02 PM - No Replies

[Image: justice-walter-onnoghen.jpg]Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN)

The trouble for the erstwhile Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen seems to be far from being over as over 1,000 Youth groups in Nigeria today held an emergency meeting at Abuja and resolved to back the President over his suspension.
The group of 968 Youth Organizations, who converged in Abuja for a single agenda meeting, said Buhari was right to wedge the big hammer against embattled CJN.
The groups observed that the questions about the integrity of Justice Walter Onnoghen were not new his ouster saved the judiciary from the transactional culture that had turned the courts in Nigeria into shams where justice is bought and sold.
The youth groups in a communique after the meeting warmed those that have been recruited to foment trouble over the suspension of Justice Onnoghen that the law remains the law and it is not in their interest to be caught breaking the law.
The communique jointly signed by Comrade Olajide Kolawole,Chairman Communique Drafting Committ and Comrade Aaron Tobias Turner
Secretary, Communique Drafting Committee, said anyone angry over the suspension of Onnoghen is an enemy of the nation.

The communique reads.
“There has been deliberate mischief by those that allude a finality to the “SUSPENSION” of Justice Onnoghen, which connotes temporariness as opposed to an outright sack or removal. This deliberate act of mischief, we have found out, is being sponsored by the suspended CJN in the belief that he can force his reinstatement through this.
“The offence of failure to properly declare his assets including the secret bank accounts and operating foreign accounts in contravention of the law are now being overshadowed by the unnecessary drama that have been whipped up by his supporters. The duplicity of using the elections as blackmail has not obliterated the fact that Justice Onnoghen violated the law and this in spite of his untenable defence of mistake and forgetfulness.
“The composition of those speaking in defence of Onnoghen is suspect. Those canvassing for his reinstatement are clearly people that stand to benefit from his continued stay in office. They include leading opposition figures, the same people that have been accused of bribing him with the money found in his undeclared bank accounts. His support base include militants and separatist terrorists with members standing trial.
“Like the opposition politicians, their members could be handed death sentence, they have cases that would be appealed up to the Supreme Court. The nature of those that have spoken in favour of Justice Onnoghen therefore constitute a fresh crisis of interest for him.
“Justice Onnoghen supporters have recruited foreign interests and other countries to undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty in an attempt to block the country’s ability to fight corruption. The opposition and their civil society arm are now creating a precedence where Nigeria must get the approval of the United States, United Kingdom, the European Union and just any other western country before taking any action in furtherance of citizens’ interest.
“The National Assembly, which has never been known to serve the interest of Nigerian, led by some of the people that paid money into the undeclared bank accounts of the suspended CJN, is threatening to counter what its members’ constituents have endorsed as the right decision. This attitude of clearly favouring Justice Onnoghen, who has been indicted of accepting bribes to pervert justice for the leadership of the National Assembly.
“The Presidency has remained unnecessarily civil, tamed and excessively considerate in responding to those that are using Justice Onnoghen’s suspension as basis to foment trouble. Its response to foreign interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs on this matter could also me more engaging. There is no record anywhere of Nigeria asking any of these countries to retain a compromised Chief Justices to preside over their own judiciaries.
“To endorsed the suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen and the swearing-in of Justice Mohammed as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria. Member organizations will take imperative actions to ensure this decision taken in favour of the anti-corruption war will not be truncated.
“Warn those that have been recruited to foment trouble over the suspension of Justice Onnoghen that the law remains the law and it is not in their interest to be caught breaking the law, especially when this is done in pursuit of defending another violation of the law.
“Appeal to security agencies to note individuals, associations and organizations that have been making threats of violence in respect to the suspension of Justice Onnoghen; the security agencies should be on alert to counter the violent protests the identified entities have planned to rocked the country but this should be done within acceptable civil limits.
“Advice the US, UK and EU to find other past-times to engage themselves with since it is not possible for their own citizens to accept what they are asking Nigeria to accept. The mandate Nigerians gave when they elect a government is for that government to take decisions that protect their interest, corruption of highly placed office holders is one the pressing issues the government has their mandate to tackle.
“Urge the Federal Government to be more robust in engaging countries that interfere with the running of Nigeria. The Presidency should immediately convene a forum at which it will place the facts around Justice Onnoghen’s suspension before senior officials of these interfering countries.
“Request the relevant authorities to publish a compendium of the infractions committed by Justice Onnoghen to educate Nigerians on the gravity of what he has been charged with.
“Place member organizations on notice to hold two street rallies for every pro-Onnoghen protest that takes place anywhere in Nigeria.
“Occupy the National Assembly should lawmakers go ahead with the sessions they plan to convene to challenge Justice Onnoghen’s suspension.
“The meeting concluded with a directive to member organizations to begin mobilizing against the election or re-election of any politician known to be supporting Justice Onnoghen or to have bribed him in the past. The recruitment of other countries by the opposition to dictate to Nigeria should not be a basis to reinstate corruption that the country is already on the way to winning.”

Nigerian Pirate Who Fled Nigeria, Wanted In Netherlands, Captured In South Africa, Fa

[Image: pirate.jpg]Itoruboemi Benson Lobia

Itoruboemi Benson Lobia, a suspected leader of Nigerian pirate syndicate captured in South Africa faces extradition to the Netherlands for prosecution.
Itoruboemi Benson Lobia, a man suspected of being the head of a Nigerian pirate syndicate will likely be heading to the Netherlands for prosecution, after the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court in South Africa on Friday ruled in favour of his extradition.
Itoruboemi, believed to be the mastermind of a month-long Dutch hostage drama, was captured by SA’s Interpol branch at OR Tambo International Airport last November, while fleeing to Mauritius following his most recent attack.
Itoruboemi fled from Nigeria and is wanted in the Netherlands following his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of 11 crew members of a Dutch cargo ship.
The crew of the Dutch cargo ship FWN Rapide was kidnapped in April 2018 while travelling between Ghana and Nigeria, held hostage for three weeks before being released following an intensive negotiation process.
The Dutch government has insisted Lobia was the leader of the pirate group, and suspects he may have also been responsible for other similar attacks and running a syndicate with international connections.
Throughout his extradition proceedings, Lobia has claimed the authorities have the wrong man, this week insisting he is actually in the employ of the Nigerian army. Lobia said he was hired as a ships security officer, in charge of protecting the Nigerian waterways, and that the army had hired him as a consultant.
He also claimed he was not fleeing to Mauritius, instead meeting a security contact there who had offered him a job. Lobia believed the contact’s insistence that they meet in person in Mauritius was part of an elaborate plot by authorities to set him up as the leader of the pirates who kidnapped the FWN Rapide crew.
However, on Friday morning, magistrate William Schutte said it was not up to his court to determine if Lobia was guilty of his maritime crimes, simply to determine if the Dutch government did indeed have enough evidence to prosecute him. “Extradition proceedings are not a criminal trial, and aren’t concerned with determining guilt or innocence,” he said in his ruling.
He noted that the Dutch government had sent a series of authenticated documents, including a forensic report that consisted of witness statements from the Rapide’s crew, and the investigators looking into the case. He also noted that Lobia’s defence team had never disputed the documents’ authenticity, and that his only defence had been that he was not the man authorities were looking for.
He referred to the Rapide witness statements that had described the pirate leader, and noticed how these descriptions accurately portrayed the man in court, including his height, his one pierced ear, his complexion and estimated age. “The remarkable similarities between his appearance and the witnesses’ descriptions is an inconvenient truth (for Lobia),” he said.
Because of these factors, he ruled that Lobia should be extradited.
However, the magistrate did inform Lobia that he had 15 days to lodge an appeal against the ruling. In the absence of such an appeal, it will be up to justice minister Michael Masutha to sign off on the extradition and send Lobia directly to the Netherlands.

South African Actress Battered Beyond Recognition By Boyfriend For Kissing On Set

Londiwe Ngcamu, a South African actress beaten by boyfriend beyond recognition after she kissed an actor in a stage play, is currently recovering in the hospital  .
The incident reportedly occurred at the weekend after 30-year-old Londiwe Ngcamu featured in a theater production Seven Days War, set in the 1980s.
She was said to have played the lead role of an IFP woman who fell in love with an ANC member at the Winston Churchill Theatre.
After the show ended at around 10pm on Saturday, the mother of a two-month-old baby girl and a six-year-old boy met her boyfriend at the bus stop and walked home with him.
When they got home, they got involved in an argument before the man attacked her. He banged her head on the ground and used his knee and fists to hit her face as she begged for her life.
Speaking to The Witness from her hospital bed on Monday afternoon, Ngcamu, from Sobantu, said:

“We had just come back from the theatre after our performance and I was chilling with my cast members at the clubhouse in Sobantu, where some of our cast members who live far away stay during shows.
“At around 10.30 pm I got a call from home informing me that my baby was restless, so I had to rush home,” she said.

Ngcamu said a man known to her, who cannot be identified by The Witness at this time, had called her and offered to walk her home.
She decided to walk alone for some of the distance intending to meet the man halfway, but when they met on the road an altercation broke out between them and the man then dragged Ngcamu to his home where he beat her severely.

“When we got to his home the gate was closed and he pushed me onto the gate to open it.
“One of his friends and [that man’s] girlfriend were there but they did nothing to help me.
“They saw him beating me up but stood and watched for a while before they left.
“When we got to his room he threw me on the floor and started beating me. He banged my head on the ground and used his fists and knee to hit my face. He even used the small suitcase I had with me to hit me on my face.”

Ngcamu said at some point the man started punching her and kicking her in the ribs, telling her that he wanted to break them.

“I was so scared and kept on begging him not to kill me, but he kept on going. It went on for hours.
“When he got exhausted he would lie down on his bed to rest and gather his strength, then start beating me all over again.”

The woman said at some point she realised that he had a knife and she tried to grab it.
“I can’t remember what happened to the knife but I have a huge cut on my palm and I think it was from when I grabbed the knife.
“He then pulled out an axe and asked me if I would prefer that he used the axe to slit my throat or to cut off my fingers. I thought he was going to kill me. I kept on praying, asking God to spare my life.”

She managed to grab the axe and threw it under his bed.
“While beating me up, he was shouting to one of his relatives who was in another outside building that he must help him dig my grave because he was going to kill me,” said the still visibly shaken Ngcamu.
She also added that she made her escape from his house after he went to bed, and rushed to her siblings who took her to the hospital and reported the case to the police.
Confirming the incident, police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, said a case of assault has been opened at the Mountain Rise police station.

According to a report by Punch, the Presiding Pastor of the Power of the Holy Ghost Evangelical Ministry, is facing 11 counts bordering on fraud.

Read below,

Sometime in April 2015, a neighbour took me to the prophet’s church and after a particular Sunday, he gave me an appointment to see him, because he wanted to know the reason why I came to the church. I told him that some people owed me and they were not willing to pay and that I wanted him to help me pray so that I could recover my money.
“He asked me to write the names of the debtors in the sequences of seven, nine, 14 and 21, which I did; another day, he gave me another appointment that the Holy Spirit ministered to him that I was going to recover my money to the last kobo and I left.
“One Sunday in October 2015, he gave me another appointment. He introduced me to two of the church members, who were close to him, Samuel Amaefule and Maxwell Adiele. He said I should be working with them and that God would answer my prayers and that I would recover my money.
“The two members got close to me; they visited me in my office and home to deliver any message from the prophet and each time I was with them, any business-related discussion I had with my customers over the phone, the two of them would tell the prophet and when next I see him, he would start giving revelations about the transactions, making it to look as if he was making a true revelation.
“In the third week of January 2016, the prophet asked me to come to the church that God had a message for me; when I got there, he took me to where they were selling rams and said God asked him to make a sacrifice on my behalf and he paid for the ram.
We bought the ram and went back to the church; he asked me to write the names of my debtors in the sequences of seven, nine, 14 and 21 in red ink. I gave him the names and he called the two members he had introduced to me earlier and a man from the North called Talif Aliu, whom he said works with the Nigeria Customs Service.”
Ezenwaka added, “He (the prophet) killed the ram and used a bowl collect its blood and persuaded me to bathe with the blood, but I declined and he said I should not doubt the message of the Holy Spirit, so I bathed with the blood. After bathing, he gave me the head of the ram and told me to follow him to a place in the church’s premises where he dug the ground and buried the head of the ram with the names of my debtors.
“He asked me to take the remains of the ram to my landed property in Lagos and also asked the two members to follow me to bury the torso of the ram and that I should come back two weeks later.”

President Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind Bible Literacy Classes which will give US students the option to study the Bible in schools.
A growing number of States in the US are introducing bills that would allow more students study the Bible. States like Florida, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia have already submitted a proposal.
Trump tweeted:

“Numerous states introducing Bible Literacy classes, giving students the option of studying the Bible. Starting to make a turn back? Great!”.
However, critics of the bill say it violates the constitution which separates the Church from State.
Speaking to USA Today, Rachel Laser, president and CEO of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, had this to say:

“State legislators should not be fooled that these bills are anything more than part of a scheme to impose Christian beliefs on public schoolchildren.”
This news will be pleasing to the Evangelicals who constitute a large number of Trump’s support base.
During his campaign, Trump promised to “end the war on Christmas” and told the Evangelicals who visited the White House in 2018 that the government’s attack on the community of faith is over.
