2019 Presidency: Armed fake soldiers held escorting ‘politician’ in Imo

Ahead of the February 16 Presidential election, four fake soldiers escorting an unnamed politician have been arrested in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Parading the suspects, who were fully dressed in Military fatigue, during a Peace Parley for candidates, the Commander 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Brigadier General H. I Bature, disclosed that fake soldiers have infiltrated the state to cause chaos during the general elections.

He stated that desperate politicians have equipped hoodlums with Army Uniforms and weapons to perpetrate violence in the state, warning that all those involved in the ignoble act will be fished out and dealt with.

According to him, “two of these fake soldiers were arrested escorting a politician. You will marvel at the kind of ammunition that was in their possession. But no matter how much they disguise, we have a way of finding out the fake soldiers.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki and Galadanchi, urged the politicians to play by the rules and jettison all forms of violence.

According to him, the State has witnessed relative peace when compared to other states in the Federation, as a result of the “cooperation and support of the people of the state”.

He said, “you will agree with me that this hard-earned peace and tranquillity we enjoy and experience in Imo State should be guarded jealously, thus, we have no other option than to ensure this endures before, during and after the elections”

Buhari also promised that if re-elected, his administration would continue to bring those who abused trust before the law.

He said this in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during his campaign rally.

“We are going to continue to take those who abused trust before the law; collect what they have stolen and reinvest them in infrastructure,” he said.

National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, told the crowd of supporters that the end of the Saraki dynasty had come.

“For Bukola, it is finished. I cannot wait till Saturday for Kwara people to celebrate their new-found freedom,” he said.

The Justice Aliyu Sanusi-led Supreme Court has struck out the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the judgment of a High Court in Rivers State which barred the APC from conducting any primaries in the state to nominate candidates to represent the party in the forth coming election.

Ruling on a preliminary objection raised by the respondents, Ibrahim Umah and 22 other aggrieved members of the APC, Justice Aliyu Sanusi, in a lead judgement, said there was substance in the objection raised by the respondent.

As it stands now, APC will not be fielding any candidate in all the elections to be held in Rivers state.

Former U.S President Bill Clinton has cancelled his scheduled visit to Nigeria for fear it might become politicized.

Clinton was scheduled to visit Nigeria this week with the intention of speaking with the presidential candidates. The visit was facilitated by the Kofi Annan Foundation and the National Peace Committee (NPC).

Clinton's spokesperson, Angel Ureña, in a statement released, said instead of him coming, he will speak over the phone with President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar later this week.

Quote:“Over the course of the last several days, and after various conversations with the different stakeholders, it’s become apparent that President Clinton’s visit to Nigeria has the potential to be politicized in a way that is not in line with the goals of the Committee. Therefore, he will not be travelling to Abuja,” Clinton’s spokesman Angel Ureña said in a statement.
He was billed to deliver a keynote at a ceremony for the signing of a peace accord by the presidential candidates.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY, 12TH FEBRUARY.

YOU’RE SEALED WITH THE HOLY GHOST.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, YE WERE SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE (Ephesians 1:13).

Years ago, there were those who preached and taught that having been born again, you needed to be “sealed with the Holy Ghost.” Then they’d call people out in church, lay hands on them and say, “Be sealed in the Name of Jesus.” In their minds, they were “sealing” those Christians. One can’t but wonder where they got that from, because the Christian was already “sealed with the Holy Ghost” at the New Birth.

The underlined portion of our opening verse says, “…ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” When you received the Holy Ghost, you were sealed; it was done by the Holy Ghost; it’s not a special, or typical experience. What does it mean to be sealed, especially in the context of Scripture?

When a document is sealed, it means a mark or something is attached to it as a guarantee of authenticity and ownership. When you see the seal of the President on a document, for example, that means the document came from the President, and has the president’s authority. A seal also means that a particular transaction has been completed or consummated.

There’re three things that the sealing of the Holy Ghost is for: ownership, security, and authenticity. Now that you’re born again, and have been sealed with the Holy Ghost, Satan can’t touch you, because the mark of God is on you. The hand of God is resting upon you. Psalm 91:7 says, “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” And the tenth verse says, “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” Why? It’s because God’s seal is on you! That seal — that mark — separates you from danger.

As a child of God, you’re protected and preserved by the power of the Holy Spirit. His glory covers you. When you understand this, the devil will have no place in your life. Fear will have no place in you. If you’re attacked by sickness, disease or infirmity, you’ll command it to leave your body. You’ll live every day with the confident assurance that no plan of the adversary can work against you, because the seal of God is on you. Praise God!

CONFESSION

I’ve got the seal of the Holy Ghost! I’m protected and preserved from harm, for as the mountains surround Jerusalem, even so am I immersed in the Lord’s protection. His divine power has granted me all that I require for life and godliness, and no weapon fashioned against me can ever prosper, because I dwell in Christ. Blessed be God forever!

FURTHER STUDY:

Psalm 125:1-3 They that trust in the LORD [shall be] as mount Zion, [which] cannot be removed, [but] abideth for ever. 2 As the mountains [are] round about Jerusalem, so the LORD [is] round about his people from henceforth even for ever. 3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

Psalm 91:1-10 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day; 6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

#TALKINGSESSION

12TH FEBRUARY.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Heavenly Father, how gracious and loving You are to me. Thank You for making my body the temple of Your Spirit. I am continually strengthened with might in my inner man as the anointing of Your Spirit runs through every fibre of my being, making me sickness and disease-free. Thank you for making Your
Word available to me. I take advantage of the

presence of the Holy Spirit who is in me, and with me to teach me Your Word as I study it wholeheartedly today. I declare that I am built up by the Word to live a life of success, victory, and promotions, dealing wisely in all affairs of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  Gana’s SDP Endorses Atiku
User Avatar Forum: News

Former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana’s faction of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Monday unanimously endorsed presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar as its consensus candidate for Saturday’s poll.

The endorsement came barely four days after another faction of the party led by Professor Tunde Adeniran endorsed the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari.

The National Executives Council(NEC) of the SDP faction led by Chief Supo Shonibare, who was at the meeting elected as the party’s new National Chairman, arrived at the decision after its meeting in Abuja.

While announcing the decision contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the NEC meeting, the party’s newly elected National Secretary, Comrade Adakole Ijogi, said the SDP arrived at the decision, having considered all the options available.

He said the executives had observed the impasse occasion by the lingering court claims of its presidential candidates, which prevented any nationwide presidential campaign.

” In view of these challenges the NEC deliberately exhaustively and unanimously resolved to direct the Social Democratic Party supporters Nationwide to mobilise our members and members of the public to support the candidature of the Alh. Atiku Abubakar,” he added.

Foreign Investors Waiting For A Buhari Loss Before Investing In Nigerian Stock

Financial Analysts from Citibank predicts that the Nigerian stock market will rally if Buhari loses...

Nigeria’s stock market may rally if President Muhammadu Buhari loses this weekend’s election, according to analysts at Citigroup, ending a run that’s seen it fall more than any other in the world in dollar terms since the 76-year-old former general came to office in May 2015. Some foreign investors would prefer a government led by Buhari’s main challenger, businessman and ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar. But while the 72-year-old has pledged to privatize state assets and float the naira, many are skeptical and point to his reputation for corruption.

@POLITICSNGR

The International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) announce the arrival of its joint international election observation mission to Nigeria. The delegation arrives today to Abuja, Nigeria. The delegation has received accreditation from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to observe the February 16 presidential and National Assembly elections.

PoliticsNGR gathered that Former President of Botswana, Festus Mogae, and former President of Latvia, Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, will co-lead the joint NDI/IRI delegation of 40 observers from 20 countries in Africa, Europe and North America. The leadership team also includes former Vice President of The Gambia, Fatoumata Tambajang; former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ambassador Johnnie Carson; former U.S. Ambassador to Myanmar and President of NDI, Derek Mitchell; and IRI Vice Chairman, Randy Scheunemann.

“IRI and NDI call on all stakeholders to adhere to the rule of law and peaceful resolution of disputes,” said IRI President Daniel Twining. “We encourage all political actors to engage in an inclusive dialogue and implement initiatives to assure the public and political contestants that, should disputes arise from the upcoming general elections, they will be resolved fairly.”

“The world needs to stand by the Nigerian people through these very important elections. The IRI/NDI delegation is here to demonstrate our continued support for credible elections,” said President Mogae. “The general elections for president and National Assembly represent a critical step in further strengthening the quality of Nigeria’s democracy and this great African nation.”

“Since 2015, a number of steps have been taken to improve the electoral process such as continuous voter registration and guidelines to curb vote buying,” said President Vike-Freiberga. “Our observation mission seeks to provide a comprehensive and impartial analysis of the entire electoral process while showing international support for peaceful, inclusive, transparent, and credible elections.”

The 40 short-term observers will join a core team of thematic experts who arrived in Abuja in early February. The delegation will review all phases of the electoral process taking into consideration observations from the three pre-election assessment missions conducted in July, September, and December 2018.

IRI and NDI have organized more than 200 international election observation missions around the globe, earning a reputation for impartiality and professionalism. The IRI/NDI mission to Nigeria will conduct its activities in accordance with the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation and Code of Conduct adopted by the United Nations in 2005 and will base its findings and recommendations on Nigerian laws and international standards for elections. All activities will be conducted on a strictly nonpartisan basis and without interfering in the election process and in conformity with the laws of Nigeria. The NDI and IRI joint election mission is a demonstration of the international community’s continuing support for democratic processes in Nigeria and is intended to help promote public confidence in the electoral process.

INEC has re-affirmed that elections would proceed as scheduled despite the fire incidents that destroyed its offices in Qua’an Pan Local Government of Plateau and Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia.

The commission gave the assurance in a statement issued by Mr Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee on Sunday in Abuja.

The commission also pledged it would print and made available, Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC), to registered voters whose cards were affected by the fire in the two local government offices. The first incident occurred in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government office of the Commission in Abia State on Saturday Feb. 2, while the second occurred at the Qua’an Pan Local Government office of the Commission in Plateau State on Saturday Feb. 9.

He listed some of the items destroyed in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government include 2979 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) and other materials. “At the Qua’an Pan office, items destroyed include 5987 uncollected Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs), 380 Voting Cubicles, 755 ballot boxes, 14 generators, election forms and official stamps.”

Okoye said that in view of these developments, the Commission has taken the following steps:

Quote:“The commission had directed the Resident Electoral Commissioner (RECs) for Plateau to open a register for all those in the affected Local Government Area who approach the Commission to collect their PVCs within the specified period.
“The Commission will print the PVCs and make them available for collection in good time before the elections.
“Reprinted and delivered the Permanent Voters’ Cards of the affected registered voters in Isiala Ngwa South in Abia State.”
INEC, he said has made arrangements for the relocation of the burnt offices that the temporary offices would be ready for the conduct of the February 16 and March 2, 2019 elections.
“The Commission will proceed as planned in the affected Local Government Areas and all the burnt materials will be replaced in good time and as such will not affect the conduct of the elections.”
Okoye said that the commission also requested that additional security measures be provided by the Nigerian Police Force to enhance security around its offices and other critical structures of the Commission, following the two fire incidence.

Okoye said that the Commission had notified the acting Inspector General of Police of the emerging trend of the burning of its Local Government Offices close to the conduct of the elections. The national commissioner said that the incidents were happening at a period when the Commission was engaged in the massive movement of election related materials nationwide.

All relevant security agencies have been requested to arrest and bring to justice, persons or groups who attacked the offices, he said. Okoye, however, said that the two fire incidents did not affect the Smart Card Readers that were presently being configured in the respective state offices of the Commission.

Father of three arrested for defiling underage girls in Niger state

The Niger state police command has arrested 35-year-old Clement Nwachukwu pictured above for allegedly defiling two girls aged 7 and 8, after luring them with N50 each in Suleja, Niger State.

New Telegraph reports that the father-of-three lured the victims to an uncompleted building where he raped them. Upon interrogation, Clement said he gets aroused whenever he see underaged girls.

Quote:
“Whenever I see underage girls in my area, I get aroused and lose control of myself. I don’t know what has come over me, that each time I see little girls in my area; I will be forced by what I don’t know to have sex with them, not minding that I am a father of three. That is too bad. I have been in this act for more than four years and it looks as if somebody has placed a curse on me. Nothing works for me, and sometimes I feel I have sinned against my destiny. It is unfortunate.

After defiling these innocent minors, I asked myself what if my wife catches me or hears about my evil deeds. I feel very bad about my act. I am finished and I know my wife will never forgive me. Right now, I am finished.”
The police say Clement will be charged to court soon.

Authorities in California have seized a record 1.9 tons of methamphetamine worth $1.3 billion along with heroin and cocaine that were set to be shipped to Australia.

According to Business Insider, the seizure followed an operation by US border officials and Australian law enforcement which took place on Jan. 11 at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport.
Four Australians and two US citizens were arrested on Wednesday by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) on suspicion of involvement in the trafficking.[Image: 5c61700aa325e.jpg]
The authorities said the drugs were "artfully" hidden in a shipment of loudspeakers.
"There's no question that the criminal organization behind this scheme has been dealt a significant blow," Joseph Macias, special agent-in-charge for Homeland Security Investigations Los Angeles, said in a statement.
The two containers of drugs, hidden inside metal boxes labeled "Single Loud Speakers," contained 3,810 pounds of methamphetamine, about 56 pounds of cocaine and 11.5 pounds of heroin, US Customs and Border Protection officials said.
The officials said it was the biggest seizure of methamphetamine in the United States and amounted to about 17 million doses, adding that if it had reached Australia it would have been worth approximately $1.3 billion.

Nigerian lady is accused of stealing from her roommate then stabbing her after she confronted her in Nnamdi Azikiwe University (video)

A Nigerian woman who allegedly stole from her roommate has been accused of stabbing the same roommate in anger after she was caught.

Mrs Mgboji Amarachi Paula, a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, allegedly stole her roommate's laptop and other items. According to Nollywood actress Teddy who shared the story, Paula and her roommate was robbed and Trish, the roommate, lost a number of her belongings. They searched the room but didn't find it.

Later, security got involved and they searched their room and found Trish's missing belongings, making them conclude that Paula was the one who took the items.

Yesterday, Mrs Paula demanded that they divide their space in the kitchen, but Trish said it wasn't necessary since their hostel management already said Paula will be removed from the room. In anger, Paula began throwing Trish's belongings out yesterday and when Trish confronted her, she slapped her multiple times while threatening her with a knife as seen in a video shared online. She eventually stabbed her on the arm with the knife.
Sharing the story to Instagram, Teddy wrote:

Quote:How can you stab your fellow girl after stealing from her ? This is MRS MGBOJI AMARACHI PAULA @bekeepaula and that's her in the video holding a knife. Few days before the incident, they were robbed...the other girl @trish_choco lost her laptop and some other things. After security got involved, they found everything in their room which was thoroughly searched before...She blamed PAULA for everything and since then she has been a threat to her life.
Just yesterday, 10th February, Paula requested that they divide their space in the kitchen because they are roommates and students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University presently in Lome, Togo. she refused saying there was no need because their management already said Paula would be removed from the room. Paula entered the kitchen, threw her stuffs away. While confronting her, Paula picked up a knife and hit her severally before finally cutting her right hand with it and punched her right hand too.

NJC Recommends Onnoghen’s Retirement, Muhammed To Stay As CJN
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-11-2019, 01:29 PM - No Replies

There are indications that the National Judicial Commission (NJC) may have recommended the retirement of suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen and the retention of Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as substantive CJN.

This is coming at a time the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has allegedly renewed fresh pressure on the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)to find political solution to the disqualification of the party from participating in elections in Rivers and Zamfara states.

Daily Sun gathered that the retirement of Onnoghen and retention of Muhammed as CJN are the NJC’s last-ditch effort to bring to an end the impasse in the judiciary following President Muhammadu Buhari’s hammer on the CJN.

The NJC, which had given Onnoghen and Justice Muhammed seven days ultimatum to answer to petitions against them, will today meet to ratify its recommendation on the CJN suspension saga.

A competent source revealed that the NJC resolved that the suspended CJN should retire, in the face of the allegations against him, even though yet unproven in the law courts.

On the reason for wanting Justice Muhammad to continue in substantive status as the CJN, the source said the NJC took the decision based on its view that he had not committed any offence or breached any rule.

“He presented himself for swearing in based on a court order (CCT). He couldn’t have disobeyed a court order, which the president also relied on,” the source said.

The retention of Justice Muhammed will dash the hopes of some powerful forces in the South West, which had anticipated that the next most senior justice of the Supreme Court from the zone will be a beneficiary of the impasse, in the event of the retirement of Onnoghen and Muhammed.

Recommendation for Onnoghen’s retirement and retention of Muhammed are contrary to expectations of some lawyers who had canvassed that both justices ought to go to ensure clean slate in the impasse.

They cite the case of Abia State Chief Judge, where the NJC ordered the retirement of acting Chief Judge of Abia, Obisike Orji, for accepting the appointment when the State Chief judge, Justice Theresa Uzokwe, was suspended by the state government without its approval.

Senior lawyers, like former President, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) had petitioned the NJC over Muhammed’s appointment as Acting CJN. He had insisted that Tanko was wrong in presenting himself to be sworn in.

Also human rights activists, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and Mr. Femi Falana, faulted the suspension of Onnoghen for being procedurally wrong.

Falana said: “I have had cause to call on the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN) to withdraw the charge of false declaration of assets filed against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The call was without prejudice to the merit of the serious allegations levelled against the Chief Justice. In line with decided judicial authorities I had wanted the National Judicial Council to investigate the allegations.”

Ozekhome argued that the removal of the CJN was a ploy to emasculate the judiciary by the government so as to get political advantage ahead of the general election.

The United States government and the European Union equally condemned Onnoghen’s suspension saying the move was in violation of the constitutional requirement for the removal of CJN

The US authorities said the development was a mockery of President Buhari and other Nigerian politicians’ commitment to free elections.

A US statement said: “We note widespread Nigerian criticism that this decision is unconstitutional and that it undermines the independence of the judicial branch.

“That undercuts the stated determination of government, candidates, and political party leaders to ensure that the elections proceed in a way that is free, fair, transparent, and peaceful – leading to a credible result.”

In the sane vein, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association also flayed the move claiming that the constitutional procedures and due process stipulated for investigating a judicial officer in Nigeria were not followed.

The body contended that the government was entitled to charge members of the judiciary accused of criminal conduct, but that this should be done in a way that was “consistent with the rule of law and constitutional safeguards.

“The judiciary, like other members of society, may not be subjected to violations of their fundamental human rights no matter what the charges are against them,” the lawyers said.

Meanwhile, there is apprehension over Onnoghen’s appeal against his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) at the Court of Appeal, which come up Wednesday.

Close associates of the suspended CJN are worried about the fate of the case, if the NJC announces the retirement of Onnoghen ahead of the case at the Appeal Court.

In its reaction to the Onnoghen case, the CUPP alleged that the Presidency has arm-twisted the judiciary for a deal.

CUPP alleged the NJC’s deal with the Presidency is to forcefully retire Onnoghen.

The deal, the group further alleged, was struck with the acting Chairman of the Council, Justice Umaru Abdullahi (retd).

CUPP said this in a statement issued in Abuja, yesterday, through its first national spokesperson, Ikenga-Imo Ugochinyere.

In another development, the APC leadership has reportedly intensified pressure to get a reprieve at the Supreme Court, which will enable the party field candidates in the forthcoming elections in Rivers State.

The APC had told its supporters not to panic after last Friday’s Supreme Court’s ruling, saying the determination of the substantive case, which comes up today, may be favourable to it. The apex court, by the ruling dismissed the appeal filed by the Rivers State APC chairman, Flag Ojukaye, challenging the judgments cancelling the conduct of the party’s primaries.

A stalwart of the party, who pleaded anonymity revealed that the APC was hoping to get a ruling today that will enable it field candidates in governorship, National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly elections in Rivers State.

“We are hoping to get a ruling that will allow us participate in elections in Rivers. Supreme Court is ruling on one of the appeals tomorrow (today),” the party chieftain said.

However, a legal luminary, Dr. Ehiogie West-Idahosa, had argued, in line with the ruling of the Supreme Court of February 8, that the matter of fielding candidates in the Rivers elections by the APC was “dead and deserved a decent burial.”

He said: “I do not see how Rivers APC can be restored to the ballot. I cannot find by what means. Like I had earlier submitted, it is the end of the road for Rivers APC candidates as far as 2019 general elections are concerned.”

The INEC had foreclosed the possibility of APC fielding candidates in the coming elections. The electoral body said follwing on the expiration of the deadline for APC to submit names if its candidates, the party will not participate in the elections.

Morning Devotional For Monday 11th February

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 11TH FEBRUARY.

HOLY AND WITHOUT BLAME.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love (Ephesians 1:4).

Hebrews 3:1 says, “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.” Did you notice that we’re called “holy brethren”? Only God can say that! Your neighbours, friends, family members, etc., may not consider you holy; but God says you are, and His verdict is what counts. Aren’t you glad about that?

You’re not holy or righteous because of your actions, but because you live in the presence of God, and have His nature of righteousness. He gave you His righteousness as a gift: “…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness…” (Romans 5:17). Before God, you’re justified; there’s no record of sin or wrongdoing against your name. That’s the reason He says you’re without blame.

Sadly, some haven’t been able to put away self-blame. They’ve rendered their faith and life ineffective due to excessive self-recrimination; that’s wrong. Your conscience isn’t supposed to keep you in bondage of guilt and condemnation, because Jesus, the Son of God, died in your place. He paid the ultimate price for your sins. The Bible says in Acts 13:38-39, “…by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.”

Do you know what it means to be justified? It means to be declared righteous; to be acquitted; the charges against you were dismissed because you never sinned. How is that possible? It’s because Jesus took your place, and now you’re in His place. So how does God see you now? He sees you holy, sanctified, and separated unto Him. Hallelujah.
Until and unless you realise that God has made you holy, you’ll never live a holy life. You can only live the life that God has given you. A dog lives the dog life; humans live the human life, because they have the life of human beings. Likewise, because we have the life and nature of God, we’re holy and can live holy. Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for presenting me faultless, perfect, holy, unblameable, and irreproveable before you in love! Thank you for the death, burial and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, by which I now stand forever justified in your presence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Colossians 1:21-22 AMPC* And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities, 22 Yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father’s] presence.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

#TALKINGSESSION

11TH FEBRUARY.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me an intercessor, one to stand in the gap for God’s children all over the world! I live up to this call today, as I pray that you’ll grant utterance, boldness, and opportunity to Christians, especially in places where the light of the gospel of Christ’s salvation is dim, to preach your Word with mighty miracles, signs, and

wonders. I thank you for the abundance of grace and mercy that is flowing from your throne room! I receive right now, the grace for salvation of souls for the lost in my neighbourhood, city, and nation. May the veil be taken off their minds for the light of the glorious gospel of Christ to shine through bringing them salvation and healing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

God bless you

Imo guber: Withdraw if you’re afraid of me, Okorocha tells Uzodinma, Araraume, Ihedioha
Monday, February 11, 2019  politics

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has urged the governorship candidates of various political parties to honourably resign from the race, if they are afraid of him, instead of ‘disparaging his good name’.

Okorocha accused the governorship candidates, including Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ifeanyi Araraume of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Ikedi Ohakim of the Accord Party, of “cheap blackmail.”

The governor made the accusation in a press statement he issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo.

He said: “It has become increasingly necessary to ask or advice some governorship candidates in the state, especially Ihedioha, Uzodinma, Araraume and Ohakim, who have seen defeat staring them in their faces, to honourably withdraw from the gubernatorial race, instead of resorting to cheap blackmail and petty lies against governor Okorocha.

“We ‘ve read the press release by the campaign outfit of Chief Ihedioha of the PDP, concerning the reported death of a young man in Oguta, said to have been killed in cult-related clash. And you begin to wonder what connection the death of the young man has to do with the rally of the APC senatorial candidate for Orlu Zone, Governor Okorocha, in Oguta, at the weekend.

“The PDP in the state and its governorship candidate, Chief Ihedioha, and few other governorship candidates have seen they would lose their deposits in the election in the state, and have taken to blackmail.”

Citing instances where his name was smeared, governor Okorocha said: “A week ago, when the house of the candidate of APGA for the House of Representatives for Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru-West Constituency, Dr. Henry Okafor, also from Oguta, was demolished by security agents, following the judgement of the Supreme Court on the land he built the house, he, in the company of the APGA governorship candidate, Chief Araraume, told the world that it was governor Okorocha and a staunch member of the Rescue Mission family, Kingsley Uju, that demolished the house.

“It took the Supreme Court judgement to be published by the other parties in the case, for the truth to be unveiled. And he has not deemed it necessary to apologise for the false information he gave to the public.”

Further explaining on instances where his name was maligned, he said: “Uzodinma, few days ago said the governor is owing banks N400 billion.”

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has said the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) advanced cancer treatment centre was in line with his administration’s commitment towards improving the quality of healthcare for every Nigerian.

Speaking during its inauguration at the weekend in Lagos, he pledged to replicate the facility in parts of the federation to save the over 500 lives lost daily to the terminal ailment as well as cater for the over eight million sufferers.

The president said government was aware that up to 40 per cent of funds spent by Nigerians on medical tourism were for treatment of the disease.

Court warns CBN, NCC, others against concluding Etisalat’s sale
Monday, February 11, 2019  NEW

The Federal High Court, Abuja, has warned the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and others involved in the move to sell Etisalat (9mobile) against taking any further step in that direction.

The development followed a claim by some aggrieved investors that in spite of a subsisting order of court made on October 10, 2018, by Justice Binta Nyako, barring parties to the transaction from taking further steps pending the determination of the suit, the CBN, First Bank Plc and others had sold the firm and transferred its ownership.

The warning by the court was contained in Form 48 issued by the registrar on institutions listed as defendants in the suit filed by the aggrieved shareholders, through Afdin Ventures Ltd and Dirbia Nigeria Ltd.

The Form 48 reads in part: “Take notice that unless you obey the directions contained in the order of the Federal High Court number three, Abuja, made on the 10th of October 2018 ordering parties to maintain status quo, with regard to the sale of Etisalat Nigeria Limited (rebranded 9mobile), you will be guilty of contempt of court and will be liable to be committed to prison.”

The affected defendants include Karington Telecommunications Ltd, Premium Telecommunications Holding NV, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, CBN, Etisalat International Nigeria Ltd (trading under the name and style of 9mobile) and the NCC.

The aggrieved subscribers, who claimed to be major investors in Etisalat, said they were excluded from the firm’s decision making and therefore want a refund of their investment estimated at $43,330,950.

Afdin and Dirbia, in a newly filed court documents, alleged that the defendants have not only sold the company, despite the existing restraining order, they have effected a transfer of ownership to a new set of buyers. They exhibited newspaper publications indicating that the defendants have proceeded with the sale in breach of the pending court order.

The aggrieved shareholders, in a pre-action notice issued by their lawyer, Mahmud Magaji (SAN), are threatening to institute fresh suits against the CBN, NCC and First Bank in an effort to retrieve their investment and accrued interest.

The pre-action notice, copies of which were sighted in Abuja, was addressed to the CBN governor and the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NCC.

Part of the notice reads: “The intending plaintiffs, who are shareholders in Etisalat Nigeria Ltd, having purchased a total number of 1, 300,391 at $13,003,910 only and 3,300,004 Class A shares at $30,030,040) intend to sue for the recovery of their investment, dividends on their shares, and damages for breach of contract.

“Please kindly recall that, by the custodian agreement, all the shares certificates of the plaintiffs, were kept under your custody. However, you have failed to exercise your role in good faith leading to the sale of Etisalat Nigeria Limited to Teleology Nigeria Ltd, at the detriment of our clients.”

In the document, the intending plaintiffs aver that:
• First Bank was both a receiving bank and also a custodian of the shares acquired by the intending plaintiffs from Karington Telecommunications Ltd;

• under the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM), First Bank, as custodian of the intending plaintiffs’ shares in Karington Telecommunications Ltd, has the obligation to ensure that the shares held by the intending plaintiffs, as beneficial owners, have the duty of custody, safekeeping, warehousing and preservation of the property (shares) of the intending plaintiffs, amongst others;

• First Bank, in allowing the shares of Emerging Markets Telecommunications Services Ltd (EMTS) to be so charged as security for the syndicated loan by fixed charge, failed to keep the shares of the intending plaintiffs separate and/or segregated, and has allowed the intending plaintiffs’ shares to be co-mingled with the shares of other investors and thereby failed in its custodial duties in clause 5.1.2 at page 71 of the PPM;

• First Bank also failed to observe and perform its warranty that it shall ensure the observance and performance of its custodial duties in the private placement memorandum (PPM) and also as contained in the application form;

•The intending plaintiffs have suffered the liability of the complete loss of their investment in the shares of Karington Telecommunication Ltd and indirect economic interest in the shares of EMTS which are to be sold to recover the unpaid syndicated loan from the 13 banks, of which First Bank is a part.”

According to the notice, the intending plaintiffs having not received any dividend payment since 2009 and have completely lost their investment or indirect holding/economic interest in the shares of EMTS, which First Bank allegedly allowed to be used as a fixed charge to secure the repayment of the loan by the syndicated banks to EMTS, the loan which has remained unpaid and the security is being enforced.

Ports concession agreement’s review becoming political talk
Monday, February 11, 2019  BUSINESS

Federal Government concessioning of some sections of seaports in handling cargos and allied businesses to terminal operators in 2006 was partly intended to make Nigerian ports efficient, generate revenue, and employment opportunities among others.

The concessioning agreement, which was signed between the Federal Government and terminal operators was subject to review at the expiration of the exercise.

Though the concession review period varied, which depending on the number of years given to terminal operators. Stakeholders have been wondering why there have been no significant review of the exercise even when part of the agreement was structured to be reviewed every two years.

However, there have been yearnings from operators and regulators for the review of the ports concession agreements. Stakeholders were the opinion that the review of the concession agreement, was long overdue and there is need for review due to lapses identified in the existing regime.

But after much agitations, on September 18, 2018 in Abuja, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman, said that the review of ports concessioning agreement would be completed “within the next three months”.

However, four months after setting the deadline, NPA has failed to deliver on its promise. This has angered some stakeholders who are bothered about the delay. According to them, the review has been delayed till date and that the review of the port concession exercise is becoming a political talk.

Technically, the agreement was structured for review every two years but after over 12 years now the it has not taken place. Instead, some concessionaires have been blindly granted more years of concession in addition to what they had in anticipation of expiration of their lease holding. There have been records of breaches on the parts NPA and the terminal operators, too. But the most precarious situation in the ports reform disorder including the nebulous usurpation of the power of the port economic regulator as stated in the agreement, according to maritime experts.

There have been complaints that the concessionaires as the operators, they regulate themselves, as they have assumed the position of a self regulator. Nobody checks their compliance level or audit their accounts because they are holding the terminals in trust for government. Nobody rates their performances or monitor them.

Put in perspectives, Daily Sun learnt that some terminal operators have performed well in the provision of cargo handling facilities but services like pricing terminal charges have remained uncompetitive in relation to sister ports in West Africa.

Speaking with Daily Sun on telephone interview on why NPA could not conclude the port review in 2018, a maritime lawyer, Osuala Emmanuel Nwagbara, said that the truth is that the NPA and Nigeria’s government could not have by December last year successfully concluded the review of the port concession agreement. He said the reason is because different concessionaires had different tenure.

He added: “Some of them had 25 years period subject to review. Some of them had 15 and 10 years. If you look back at the time the concession was done 2006, those who had 10 years completed their term by 2016. And I heard but I cannot confirm that some of those who had three years down have had their concession agreement reviewed.

“I am aware that some of those concession agreement provided for a review period of not more than two years that’s subsequent grant of concession for a period not more than two years for the time their concession agreement expired. It is only after such extension that you will talk about comprehensive review for those whose time has expired. For the concessionaires whose time has not expired, there are exceptional circumstances, no one can review their concession agreement until it expires.”

Said he: “So as a stakeholder, what we are saying is that for those whose concession agreement has expired, in law they could be subjected to another regime altogether. Legal regime, that is concession regime altogether or holistic review of those whose concessions has not expired. That have to key into the new dispensation by subjecting themselves into economic regulations of the Nigerian Shippers Council as laid out in the thoughts economic regulations, which the former President Goodluck Jonathan signed into law in 2014 that is what the position should be.

“It is when they have comply with the directives of the Nigerian Shippers Council in its powers as economic regulator that we would have addressed one aspect of our maritime operations. It is not just the concession agreement we have to focused on. We have to focus on other issues that can drive the maritime business in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Kamay Marine Services Limited, Mr. Charles Okorefe said that, “the issue remains the ways we do things in Nigeria. You know, as top public official, you don’t just make pronouncement for the sake of making pronouncement. The MD of NPA is not just an ordinary person. She’s a high ranking officer of maritime industry and whatever she says hold international implications.

“In other words, it does not begin and end with our environment because the maritime industry is a universal industry. He said now, that there are flaws in the concession agreement, which need to be reviewed, that agitation has been on for a long while. He added that when the MD NPA gave the deadline of when it would be completed, stakeholders should have reason to believe her but almost two months down, nothing is being heard about it.

Said he: “You know, it does not speak well of the industry and the position she currently occupied because they are lot of flaws in the concession agreement. For instance, there are lot of things that concessionaires promised to do in the course of running their terminals are not being done. Restructuring handling cargo equipment and all of that. You discovered that many of them are still deficient and even the number of years allocated to some of the concessionaires as some has 10, 15 years and so on, they have to be reviewed so that everything can be align but that is not being done.”

Buhari Vs Atiku: February 16 election is 50-50
Monday, February 11, 2019  politics

With the crowd that turned out yesterday at Kano rally for the Atiku presidential campaign, the February 16 election is going 50-50.

President Buhari will not have easy ride in the north like he did in 2015.

Atiku has demonstrated great acceptance even in the strong hold of Mr President.

The 5 million votes promised by the Kano state governor to President Buhari is a hoax, except they want to manufacture it by rigging.

Atiku has matched Buhari crowd to crowd in all states and venues. If the election goes free and fair, and Atiku is able to stop the 'Osun example' then there will be new govt come May 29.

10 vehicles burnt as APC, PDP supporters clash in Abuja
Monday, February 11, 2019  NEW

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday evening, clashed in Abuja. Although no casualty was recorded, several vehicles in both the convoy of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Mohammad Bello, and PDP were badly damaged by warring supporters. It took the intervention of security operatives to disperse the angry supporters.

The violent clash occurred in the popular Dei Dei Market in Abuja.

Trouble started when the convoy of the minister ran into a PDP campaign event at Dei Dei Market on the way to the Palace of Sarkin Jiwa in Jiwa District.

Supporters of the PDP were chanting “Atiku/Obi” and displaying the posters of the duo and other candidates of the party and supporters of APC were infuriated and insisted that the PDP supporters must give way for the minister’s convoy to pass.

In a matter of seconds, violence broke out as vehicles of both parties and other passersby were vandalised, before the intervention of the police who shoot in the air to disperse the mob.

A resident of the Jiwa who did not want her name in print told newsmen that the community was a PDP stronghold until recently when Alhaji Musa, one of its chieftains, joined the APC and tried to foist the party on the people.

The minister, who was represented by his chief of staff, Mai-Borno, had taken the campaign train to Karshi and Karu districts and was moving from Jiwa to Bwari Area Council when the incident happened.

Reacting, the director-general, FCT APC Campaign Council, Musa Yahaya Mohammed, described the attack as unfortunate. He said information suggested that the attack may have been premeditated.

He was quick to dispel the notion that some PDP supporters or ethnic elements were behind the attack. He said the ugly incident would be reported to the proper quarters to forestall a recurrence.

'Marriage shouldn’t be your priority if you’re not financially independent' - Alibaba

NIgerian comedian, Ali Baba in his advice to ladies today said, 'if as a lady, you are not financially dependent, marriage should not be your priority'.

He went on to say, 'that era of being financially dependent on a man expired many years ago. Sadly, very few women started late to realise that they also had the equal personal requirements to make themselves financially independent'.

Quote:Many of the men who also believed that women should not be financially independent were also everywhere. And with time, many of those men, where in places of authority and economic positions of influence. Such men also started to see that many women were a threat to their masculinity. And did everything to block them.
Like a woman can not bail anyone arrested. Women can not rent properties. They failed to accept that women were capable of pulling their weight when shouldered with responsibilities, BUT DID BETTER THAN THE MEN, who went head to head with them. And still play their roles as women.
In school, you will remember, if you want to be honest, there were ladies who were constantly in 1st to 10th positions. And there were heavy men, who were unashamedly in the 30th to 32nd positions. That was the start. It became more glaring that women can be equally smart and even smarter. Many of these men, were in any case being taught by women, as teachers, lecturers and professors.
So, gradually, the thought of a woman being DEPENDENT ON any man started fading. Especially when the men started having them as bosses, and learning under their feet. Humbling. However, it needs to be further emphasised in these day and age, that the days of a woman being DEPENDENT are gone. Or nearly gone.
So, it's clear, that financial instability of women is the major reason many wpmen don't get treated like they should. It turns relationships to cash and carry or business transactions. It also then makes many men believe, that financial independence will take away their power. Only WEAK MEN think like that. And women who think they must go into a relationship because its their only way to financial stability are the ones who empower them.

The off-white look underneath gives a vintage look and feel. If you re a fan of the Puma Trinomic XT2, but weren t feeling the bright releases as of late, perhaps this mellowed out version will do the trick.

Some think the Puma R698 is going to have a heck of a year. Some, like me, aren t feeling so sure about that. The Puma R698 is a solid runner and with the Sakura installment by Ronnie Fieg it was hinted that thing were going puma speed to be heating up. The release of the Puma R698 Bonded TPU Kurim Dark Shadow strays me away from that notion. With a bonded TPU and engineered mesh upper, you can be sure that these will provide the ultimate fit and comfort, but it s going to do so in an all black design. Most people are fans, I get it, but with that Sakura look indicating what s to come, it s bizarre to see something so simple, and to have been seeing simple colorways. White puma ignite lands down on the Trinomic midsole, completing the look. If you re interested in picking these up then head on over to you local Puma retailer today.Source: FeatureAuthor s TakeI could just as simply get an all black Tubular, Roshe, Flux, etc which in my book is kind of cooler. Pardon my rant in the middle of all that, but I m going to pass on these. However, I might knock the monochromatic design, but I m digging the steal-ness of the name.

We have been seeing a lot of fun and unique colorways come from the Puma Disc series and their latest release is no different. Puma has teamed up with the Japanese based brand Ojaga Design and will be dropping a special version of the Puma Disc Blaze Trinomic silhouette. This collaboration brings two different versions of the Puma Disc Blaze Trinomic, that both feature a wild mix of patterns, colors and design. Both shoes feature shades of Brown for the base, while using a wild blend of colors to puma evospeed make the shoes stand out even more. These were definitely designed for the folks that aren t shy about their fashion choices. You can grab a pair of the Ojaga Design x Puma Disc Blaze Trinomic today at select Puma retailers, with a retail price of $175.Source: BodegaAuthor s TakeThese are definitely not for the timid.   Opposition Favored To Win Nigeria Presidential Election Feb 16, 2019- Casaonline
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 02-11-2019, 12:33 AM - No Replies

Intelligence Analysts and political risk researchers agreed the opposition party would defeat the incumbent.

Nigeria election scheduled for February 16, 2019, will be a straight fight between the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr. Atiku Abubakar of PDP may likely emerge as the winner of 2019 presidential poll.

Nigerians do not trust APC again because of broken promises, and President Buhari is not as popular as he was in 2015.

President Buhari seems not to have the backing of the International Community, which he had in 2015.

Insider Threat – we confirm that a significant number of people are supporting APC, and not Buhari. Most of them are government appointees, including some ministers. While PDP has remained united, stronger and has gained momentum since her presidential primaries, the outcome of APC primaries that pitched some governors against their party candidates may likely affect its fortune in those States like Rivers, Ogun, Imo and Zamfara States.

The incumbent President Buhari faces stiff opposition in the northern part of Nigeria, which has remained his stronghold for several years. His primary challenger (Atiku) comes from the same zone with him. Buhari lost out in a similar contest against his fellow Hausa/Muslim candidate (Umoru Yar’dua) in 2007.

Also, the Middle Belt of Nigeria has been a battleground and deciding factor since 1979. Whoever emerges President must show strength in Kwara State, Kogi State, Benue State, Taraba State, Plateau State, Nasarawa State, Niger State, Adamawa State, the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), as well as the southern parts of Kaduna State, Kebbi State, Bauchi State, and Gombe.

Analysis

Nigeria had 19 States in 1979. Chief Obafemi Awolowo cleared the entire South West, Azikiwe maintained his South East as a clear leader. Aminu Kano Party won in the core North (known as NW of today). President Shagari emerged as the winner courtesy of the vote from the Middle Belt states and today’s SS (Rivers and Cross Rivers).

In 1999, Former President Obasanjo lost in the SW, divided NW and emerged strongly in the Middle Belt States, SS and SE to become President.

In 2011, President Goodluck Jonathan lost in NW and NE but won in NC, SW, SS, and SE.

In 2015, the main reason Buhari defeated former President Jonathan was because GEJ lost in Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, and another part of the Middle Belt States.

As at today, monetary inducement will fail and has proved to be less effective when a candidate is not favorite in Nigeria. It will take sophisticated manipulation or forceful declaration by INEC for President Buhari to win those critical Middle Belt States.

Most importantly, some core Northern elders are suspicious SW support for President Buhari, known his state of health. They would not want the repeat of Yar’adua/GEJ scenario that will make the North relinquish power to SW. They are passing this message silently to their people.

Overall, we project Alhaji Abubakar Atiku as the winner of the February 2019 election with 55%.

A young Nigerian lady was left in tears after she was given a surprise marriage proposal by her boyfriend at the hospital.

It was gathered that the soon-to-be bride identified as Blessing Onyeh, a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, was involved in a fatal accident in 2016 which affected her leg and right hand, resulting to some implantation (at both places).

2018 was the time for the removal of those implantation and her partner decided to surprise her in an unexpected way.

Without Blessing's knowledge, her boyfriend identified as Onyedika Ifeanyi Francis stormed the hospital to propose to her after her friends had "deceived" her into thinking they were organizing a recovery party for her.

The lady broke down in tears after her man went on his knees to propose, and of course she said yes.

The engagement which happened few months back - was announced by the couple yesterday online.

President Buhari Has Failed Integrity Test. - PDP
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 02-11-2019, 12:18 AM - No Replies

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), has accused President Buhari of failing integrity test. The party stated these through a press release signed by it Publicity Secretary. Read full text below.

President Buhari has failed his integrity test and has no moral rectitude to pontificate on corruption, having entangled himself and soiled his administration in corruption.

If there is any person whose activities of corruption has become a threat to the coming election, it is President Buhari, who is financing his campaign with looted funds, while surrounding himself with politicians indicted for corruption.

Other News: Davido Releases List of Those he Will Vote for in Next Week Elections.

The PDP, out of respect for the Office of the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, had severally refrained from calling out President Buhari on his various indictments for corruption even during his era as a military ruler.

A clear reading of Mr. President’s statement today shows that he is not yet aware that Nigerians have decoded his mastery of concealments of corruption in his Presidency and are no longer interested in his failed self-acclaimed fight against corruption.

President Buhari presides over the most corrupt and incompetent administration in the history of our nation, for which Nigerians are very eager to go to the polls on Saturday to vote him out of office.

Is it not strange therefore that President Buhari who wants Nigerians to perceive his administration as fighting corruption, will cast a net into the ocean and bring out only corrupt people to run his campaign?

The truth is that Nigerians have seen more than enough of the fake fight against corruption and have come to a conclusion that President Buhari is merely paying lip services to this fight. He has no intention to do it.

Rather than seeking for sympathy votes, President Buhari should simply admit his failure in governance and allow Nigerians to build their future by getting our nation working again under the leadership of Atiku.

Nasarawa Bride Dumps Groom On Wedding Day, 'I'm Too Young To Marry Impotent Man'
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-11-2019, 12:14 AM - No Replies

Man whose wife I slept with in my village behind my impotency –Groom

Quote:Linus Oota, Lafia

The marital union, which 37-year-old Sunday Numko had hoped to establish with his former course mate and girlfriend, Mary Adamkua, crashed on wedding day, in church, when guests were already seated and waiting for the nuptial service to start at St John’s parish, Nasarawa State.

Numko who hails from Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State and holds a Diploma in Business Management from the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, and Mary met as course mates in the same department at the polytechnic. A romantic relationship developed between them and they dated for one year and seven months, when the idea of getting married to each other came up. However, good reason prevailed as they decided to postpone marriage till after the completion of their diploma programmes.

Interestingly, Numko is an only child. His parents died in an auto-crash 15 years ago while Mary is the only daughter of her parents. While her father is late, Mary’s mother is alive. While in school, the relationship between Numko and Mary blossomed to the point of intimacy. As Mary told Sunday Sun, Numko never experienced “network failure” during their romantic trysts until one month before the planned wedding, when he suddenly became impotent.

Recalling the horrific discovery, Mary said: “His manhood stop performing, we did everything humanly possible to no avail. I was worried but did not disclose it to anybody until the day of the wedding, when I shared my worries with my mum. It was difficult for us arrive at the decision we took about the situation.”

She recalled the good memories of their days as students at the polytechnic, after they were introduced by a mutual friend, who told her that Numko could help with notes she missed on the first day of resumption. Mary pleasantly discovered that Numko had very good handwriting and was very good in Mathematics. They became best friends and inseparable.

Hear Mary: “Sometimes a good and intelligent person could be very attractive. Days and weeks passed and he became my go to person for clarifications. We studied together before tests and exams. We were inseparable and did everything together.

“Gradually, one thing led to another and he started toasting me. We were bound together and in love. He proposed marriage to me and we agreed to do that after our diploma programme. In the course of time I discovered that he was very good in bed and he satisfied me sexually. Honestly, apart from his intellect, his performance in bed was among the factors that attracted me to him.

“I am the only daughter of my parents, my father died during the crisis that engulfed the state in 2001. I am from Keana Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. My mother struggled to sponsor my education with the proceeds from her petty business and she was looking forward to my getting married and giving birth to her grandchildren. Having grandchildren has been her dream and that is the essence of marriage. Numko was sexually fit until late November 2018, when his manhood started failing. Meanwhile our wedding had been fixed for Saturday, January 5, 2019.

“I was very worried because he became impotent at the time of paying the bride price, but I kept hoping that the problem would go away. By the time we got to January 5, and situation had not improved, I decided to tell my mother the whole story. She became scared as we prepared to go leave for the church service. She consulted some people and resolved that I could not go for the marriage oath.

“I have no regrets over this decision even though I love him very well. Numko is very caring but I cannot afford to marry an impotent man. Although the elders of our village have already shared the money paid as bride price among themselves, and we cannot go to them to retrieve the various sums, however, my mother will pay back the bride price. The whole amount he spent as bride price was N190,000.”

‘I know where my trouble started’

Lamenting over the turn of events, the jilted groom, Sunday said: “I know where my problem came from; a man in my village whose wife I dated for four years is behind my predicament. I believe I am responsible for the birth of her firstborn child. The issue generated crisis and the man swore to revenge. I didn’t know that this was what he intended to do. I regret sleeping with his wife.

“He got me through a charm by using one of my old trousers. When my manhood stopped functioning, I consulted a native doctor somewhere in Benue State and he told me that the man I was sleeping with his wife in my village was behind it. He advised me to go and beg him, but the man denied being responsible when I confronted him.

“I’m confused about life; my parents are not alive. I struggled alone to train myself because my uncles were very poor and could not help me. My dream in life was to get married and bear children after completing my education and settling down. But now I have lost the chance.

“It was the man’s wife that actually “toasted” me and I fell for it and then found it difficult to walk away even after the man had discovered our illicit affair and told everybody in the village about it. I completely regret my action.”

Though unhappy with the way events turned out, the mother of Mary, Mrs Patricia Adamkua makes no pretence about her stand on the decision to abort the marriage between her daughter and Numko. She said: “No on desires a bad and unhappy marriage; you don’t venture into marriage to dilly dally. Once you take the marriage oath, you and your husband must be ready and sure that you can ride out the tides and weather the storms of life. I took the decision to save my daughter’s future.

“I want to see my grandchildren; how can my daughter marry an impotent man? If she had told me about the problem early before that day, we wouldn’t have gotten to that level. I don’t have any problem with him. I did not disapprove of him, when my daughter introduced him. But the truth is that my daughter is too young for that kind of sacrifice. I will not allow it. She will get another husband at the right time,” she said

Mr Joseph Kwaghterver, who was accused of being behind the Numko’s denied any knowledge of it, saying, “The man did not mean well for me. He ate food that was not meant for him. I’m an old man and I don’t know anything about his impotency. Anyway, let him carry his cross.”

The catchiest of the church, where the wedding service was billed to hold, Mr. Thomas told Sunday Sun: “She knew about this for over one month and did not inform us, yet they were coming here regularly for marriage course and she waited till the last movement to reveal this. Considering the resources and efforts put into planning the aborted wedding. Besides this, you should consider the emotional, psychological and social implications of her action. It has been harrowing and traumatic. I can’t say much about the issue, she has a genuine case but approached it wrongly, by not telling us.”

Corruption threatens Nigeria and its election - President Buhari says in new article

Read a new article wrtten by President Buhari below

Quote:On February 16th, Nigeria will hold a general election. Four years ago, the country experienced its first democratic transfer of power to the opposition since 1999. The vote in a few days will be no less significant.
As president, I have tried to judiciously exercise the trust vested in me to combat the problems of corruption, insecurity and an inequitable economy. All are important. But amongst them, one stands above the others as both a cause and aggravator of the rest. It is, of course, corruption.
A policy programme that does not have fighting corruption at its core is destined to fail. The battle against graft must be the base on which we secure the country, build our economy, provide decent infrastructure and educate the next generation.
This is the challenge of our generation: the variable on which our success as a nation shall be determined. But the vested interests at play can make this fight difficult. By way of their looting, the corrupt have powerful resources at their disposal. And they will use them. For when you fight corruption, you can be sure it will fight back.
It even threatens to undermine February’s poll and – by extension – our democracy. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has raised concerns over laundered money being funnelled into vote buying. This is the problem of corruption writ large. It illustrates how it lurks in all and every crevice of public life, manipulating due process in pursuit of self-preservation and perpetuation; protecting personal political and economic interests at the expense of the common good.
Indeed, those who have criticised my administration’s anti-corruption drive are those who oppose its mission. And though their lawyers may craft expensive alibis, they cannot escape that which binds them together: a raft of documents and barely legal (some clearly illegal) mechanisms – whether that be the Panama Papers, US Congress reports, shell companies or offshore bank accounts.
Corruption corrodes the trust on which the idea of community is founded, because one rule for the few and another for everyone else is unacceptable to anyone working honestly.
But as we have intensified our war on corruption, so we have found that corruption innovates to resist the law. This is not the sole domain of those Nigerians, but the international corruption industry: the unsavoury fellow-traveler of globalisation.
Once the enablers are let in – as they have been in the past – the greed of those they collude with grows. We have closed the door on them, but unfortunately there still remain individuals who are willing to open windows.
Concrete progress has been made, but there is still much to do. We have repatriated hundreds of millions of dollars stowed away in foreign banks. These funds have been transparently deployed on infrastructural projects and used to directly empower the poorest in society. More is still to come from our international partners in France, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Yet the hundreds of billions sifted out of the country for the best part of this century promise more.
We have secured high profile convictions, but greater cases remain. Lawyers table endless objections to obstruct court proceedings, whilst their clients hope it lasts until a ‘friendly’ president is voted into office. We must continue to tighten the legal framework and ensure the authorities have the investigative powers at their disposal to secure sentences. Only then will we begin to neutralise the advantages the corrupt have.
More ghost workers must be removed from government payroll (almost $550 million has been saved from identifying phantom employees). More can be recovered through our whistle-blower policy ($370 million has been returned since its launch in 2016). More is still to come. But, together, we shall prevail over corruption.
A Yoruba proverb states that only the patient one can milk a lion. Likewise, victory over corruption is difficult, but not impossible. We must not flounder in our resolve. I know many Nigerians would like to see faster action. So do I. But so too must we follow due process and exercise restraint, ensuring allegation never takes the place of evidence. For that is not the Nigeria we should wish to build.
There is no doubt that this Administration has changed the way we tackle corruption. The choice before voters is this: Do we continue forward on this testing path against corruption? Or do revert to the past, resigned to the falsehood that it is just the-way-things-are-done? Or that it is just too difficult – too pervasive – to fix? I know which one I would choose. It is why I am asking Nigerians for another four years to serve them.

MUHAMMADU BUHARI,
PRESIDENT,
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Nothing sticks to your memory like a date from hell; have fun reading this weird first date experiences.

Deola

Two months ago I met a guy on Facebook, we had a mutual friend and after a while; we got talking. It was all good for weeks as we only chat, no calls.

After Christmas, I stopped by at Abeokuta on my way to Ibadan; I told him and he said he will meet me in Abeokuta. We fixed a venue, mind you, I told him I could afford Coldstone ice cream, and we should meet there. He said he didn’t like the place, and he preferred a restaurant; we agreed on a restaurant. I told him I can’t afford the place; he said he’s fine. He got it covered.

I got to Abeokuta, and I called; he changed plans at the last minute and we went to a lounge instead, a popular one, on getting to the lounge, he looked different from the pictures and the impression I had about him, he even had the Abeokuta accent.
He asked what I wanted and at that point, someone ordered fried rice beside our table, I was trying to check the Menu when he picked up his drink to cover his mouth and said I shouldn’t order rice because he had no money.

I laughed it off and closed the menu. I left a while later without drinking even water, he later offered to pay my transport fare, I refused and that was the end. I felt good and now we only talk on WhatsApp with more respect.

Christiana

I met this guy on my way to my uncle’s house; we walked together for a while. He was Yoruba and spoke the language fluently, which attracted me.
He seemed smart too. On my street, he wanted to collect my number, but he wasn’t with a phone, I offered to collect his number so I can call him later, but he said no, that he wants to be the one to call first. He called me a while later and ignored him.
On another day, he called to inform me he was parked in front of my street gate, and that I should come out. I didn’t feel good about it, but I didn’t want to disappoint him again, so went out he was talking too much, I started to yawn.

So, he said he wanted to see my pictures; I gave him my phone; he was going through my gallery, then he said he wanted to call a waiter. Baba went to call a waiter, he sat down again. He went to call the waiter again, this time my phone was already in his pocket. I didn’t want to embarrass him by asking for my phone often; I decided to chill; he went downstairs again, this time he didn’t return, I waited for about 30 minutes before it hit me, he had absconded with my phone.

I met this guy a while back and he asked me out, so I picked a venue close to my office. On the agreed date, I left the office after my boss left. Just after our orders arrived my boss called and said he forgot his key and was on his way back to the office, I was confused, I didn’t want to leave my date or lie, so I explained the situation to him and he asked me to go see my boss. On returning to the restaurant, it was like a scene out of Nollywood, he started scolding me, asking how I thought it was right to leave him on at a restaurant on a first date. Long story short we dated for a while after but eventually broke up.

Dele

I met this girl on Instagram and we’ve been talking for a while before we finally decided to go on the first date. Due to the because of our level of conversation, I kind of opened up to her about my financial issues, I was dead broke at that time. On this fateful day, I went to pick her at her office in Lekki and I asked her to take me to the cheapest joint, where we could eat something within my budget. So we went to this really classy restaurant around Lekki Phase 1, I made my order and it was around N1400 I had just N5,000 for this date and me spending N1,400 means I have N3,600 to play with. Lo and behold when she ordered her food it ran over N4,000. Plus, her food was so much that they served her with three plates. I would have faced real embarrassment if not for the petty change I had in the car. That was the last time we saw or spoke. We just like each other’s pictures on Instagram now.

Man apprehended with female pants says he was sent by a prophet
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-10-2019, 06:27 PM - No Replies

25-year-old panel beater, Adejoh Ojonugwa, pictured above, who was recently arrested for stealing the pants of his sister and sister in-law, has said that Prophet Olajide Ogunleye also known as Kokoro-Ayo, of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ibanujemidopin Parish, Uso in Owo Council area of the state, sent him to steal the pants as part of the rituals to make him rich.

While being paraded at the Ogun state police command, Adejoh said he recently approached Ogunleye for ways to get rich fast and that the clergyman asked him to get pants and ladies underwear.

Quote:“l was given a concoction by the prophet and, from that point, l could not remember what l was doing until l was arrested by police detectives. l regained my memory after four days when l remembered visiting the prophet for assistance to get rich. I had visited the prophet to pray for me because of my work and how to get rich.

After checking my palm, he told me there were ways out but asked me to swallow some concoction and prayed for me but asked me to look for ladies pants and underwear. But when I got home I didn’t know what I was doing again and l started looking for pants and underwear. I found three of my sister’s pants and l went to my brother’s house where l took two of my sister-in-law’s pants.

Hours later, my sister-in-law raised the alarm that her underwear were missing and I was arrested and taken to the police station. Two of the pants belong to my sister-in-law and the three others belong to my younger sister. When the police arrested me, I was taken to Uso Police Station before they transferred me here (Akure)” Adejoh said
[size=undefined]

The sister-in-law of the suspect, Grace Ojonugwa, said her brother-in-law stole the underwear from where she spread it to dry in their house.
[/size]

Quote:“It was my husband’s younger brother who stole the pants. He was actually trailing me to spread them. I met my brother-in-law inside our room. He had already packed two of my pants inside his travelling bag. l had spread the two pants on the line inside our room. Three other pants that did not belong to me were also seen inside the bag he was carrying” Grace said
[size=undefined]
Prophet Ogunleye denied hypnotising Adejoh nor asking him to bring ladies pants for money ritual.
[/size]

Quote:“I am a true man of God and I have never seen Adejoh in my life. He is lying against me. The truth of the matter is that they came to me for a parcel of land and I refused to give them. I never asked him to bring any underwear for ritual. They feel it is an opportunity to implicate me in this crime since I had refused to give them the land to cultivate Indian hemp. I engage in spiritual cleansing for people, mostly pregnant women who have difficulties so they can give birth early and easily. I don’t engage in rituals as it is against the belief of our church. The allegation is pure lie against me. l don’t know the boy from Adams and l am surprised about the allegation against me. I am a prophet. l pray for people. l use morning dew and lime to heal diseases but l know nothing about money rituals”Ogunleye said
[size=undefined]

Commenting, the state police spokesperson, Femi Jacobs, warns parents to advise their female children about where to keep their underwear
[/size]

Quote:''The main suspect claimed to have lost his senses after taking a concoction from the prophet and started looking for ladies underwear. He said he had gone to the spiritualist who is a member of the Celestial Church to pray for posterity. He now said that the man prayed for him and gave him an ointment to take and as soon as he swallowed the concoction, he lost his senses and began to pick ladies pants.

He had already picked some in Uso, their village, according to him. And he came to Akure again to pick those of his brother’s wife. We are baffled and shocked to discover that during the time he lost his senses, the next thing for him to do was to begin to pick women underwear. We think the story is too good to be true. That is why we are engaging him. We will further dig into the matter to know what he actually wanted to do with the ladies pants. Once we know what he wanted to do, he will face the consequences.

We don’t want such a thing to happen in our state. And we are using this opportunity to enjoin our ladies and our women to keep very well whatever they put on, whether underwear or dresses. We also plead with parents to ensure that their daughters keep their underwear very carefully. We are using this opportunity to enjoin our ladies and women that this is a very dangerous phenomenon. We have to keep well whatever we are putting on. I also advise parents to warn their children, particularly females, to be very careful about where they keep their underwear.” he said

WHY I AM SUPPORTING ATIKU-Dele Momodu
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-10-2019, 05:29 PM - No Replies

•THE MESSAGE NIGERIANS MUST DELIVER TO BUHARI NEXT WEEK•

Dele Momodu

Fellow Nigerians, please, permit me to make some quick clarifications in this season of general bickering and mutual distrust and spiteful hatred. One. I do not work for any campaign organisation. I’m supporting the PDP candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, same way I voluntarily supported Major General Muhammadu Buhari in 2015. I do so because there is no viable or electable alternative among the fringe candidates. I believe it is within my fundamental right of association and freedom of speech to support whosoever I wish. Similarly, I respect the rights of others to support any candidate of their choice and see no reason why anyone should get angry and jittery over mine.

Two. I did not choose Atiku for pecuniary or any other gain. I have not been paid by him or anybody acting on his behalf. I would not sell myself where the future of my country, Nigeria, is concerned. As I write, I’m already on my way to Oxford University to resume and engage in academic ventures for the next six months. I’m gainfully employed and happy and content to manage my modest income, so I’m not desperate for government appointment or patronage, as the social media trolls try to suggest about opposition figures. But I cannot watch my country disintegrate or watch an incompetent government drown our dear beloved country in an ocean of bigotry, backwardness, bitterness and bestiality. I owe it to myself, and fellow compatriots, to stand for truth, and nothing but the truth, as one of those it has pleased God to give some visibility and voice globally. What shall it profit a man who keeps silent in the face of unbridled tyranny and abysmal cluelessness. If I wished, I could have supported PDP in the 2015 elections. Every comfort was assured and guaranteed. But I chose to support a supposed poor man we believed would be a Mandela figure that would rescue us from the scourge of PDP. Little did I imagine we were in the process of inviting a worse pestilence on our nation.

Three. I bear no grudge or personal animosity against Buhari. I love him the way I love mankind and respect the office he occupies which I once attempted to enter when I contested in 2011. I believe President Muhammadu Buhari has not reciprocated the massive goodwill bestowed on him in 2015 and that he has treated us with great contempt and disdain. He has also not properly utilised his professional, competent and capable Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. Had he done so, maybe we would now be saying something else. This is not to cause any disaffection within their ranks, but every discerning Nigerian knows that this quintessential gentleman is the reason that there is any real noteworthy success for this administration. Otherwise, Buhari has embarrassed his supporters, endlessly, with his reckless, insensitive and uninformed decisions. What many of those supporting him in public today say behind him is unbelievable and unspeakable. I have friends who confess to private threats of business and physical annihilation and are thus forced to endorse a man they know can never take Nigeria to anywhere meaningful, even if given four terms.

Four. I have tried strenuously to be fair to Buhari and wrote copiously to advise him, from time to time, as I promised him when we met in his office, one on one, in 2015. I gave up hope, after some time, when I saw the direction he was headed and noticed the irredeemable obstinacy in his DNA. Four years ago, many of us were very excited about the hope this great General offered to our nation. Perhaps, we overrated his capabilities. It has become clear that we wittingly dressed him in borrowed robes and we were all hypnotised and brainwashed, somehow. Today, our eyes have cleared from that giddiness and I’m ready to add my voice to those of others who genuinely believe, Buhari must go. I do this with every sense of responsibility to God and to my country. I will give my reasons shortly.

I have had to apologise in the last couple of months to those who feel very aggrieved that a self-confessed democrat like me could ever support a blatant dictator like Buhari. You can never imagine the gale of verbal attacks I suffered and endured for what I considered my innocuous support. The last one that really hit me was in Ghana recently. I ran into the respected Legal luminary, Mr Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, at the lounge in Kotoka International Airport. There were two ladies seated with him, one of who I believe is his wife. I greeted them but the other lady snubbed me, and said, “Dele, I will never greet you.” I looked blank and wondered if we’ve ever met, and how I might have offended her. Madam soon threw a sucker punch. “Dele, you are one of those who brought that disaster called Buhari on us…” and she went into her tirade. I tried to explain that I’m indeed very sorry and it was not my fault that I fell for the charms and scam of APC. The woman was practically inconsolable.

I have encountered many people like her. A guy almost went physical with me on a flight to London, grumbling aloud about how some of Buhari’s ignorant decisions have messed up Nigeria, his business and family. All I could do was plead for understanding. Unfortunately, Buhari himself is totally oblivious to the way Nigerians feel or just couldn’t be bothered or is probably insulated from objective criticism by selfish advisers. The tragedy of it all is his Messianic complex. He and his cronies behave as if Nigerians owe them a load of gratitude for favours received. Such hocus-pocus and inanity.

I have no iota of doubt left in me that President Muhammadu Buhari has performed well below expectations and that he should be voted out, peacefully, on February 16, 2019. The message should be clear henceforth that there is no automatic second term for incompetence, irresponsibility, irreverence and impunity. It is a miracle that Nigeria has not exploded into a civil war with the manner Buhari has treated some parts as second-class citizens with no right to complain. Let me now give reasons why we cannot afford to donate a second term to Buhari when he has clearly not earned it.

One. At 76, and with a failing health, Buhari should go into permanent retirement at the expiration of his tenure on May 29, 2019. No man can cheat nature and Buhari isn’t an exception.

Two. Buhari has not been in charge or on top of government and governance since he assumed office on May 29, 2015. Some cronies, otherwise known and addressed as ‘the cabal’, have been ruling without being elected. This can only get worse if Buhari is awarded a second term through our collective stupidity.

Three. The human rights record of Buhari has never been anything to praise or applaud at any time. Nothing has changed since he was kicked out of power by President Ibrahim Babangida in 1985. He has refused to adhere to the rule of law and has continued to trample on the rights of Nigerian citizens despite several court orders. What makes matters worse is that he behaves like Constantin Demiris, a character in Sidney Sheldon’s Memories of Midnight, who never forgets a favour and never forgives an injury. He has kept his presumed enemies in prison, indefinitely and compensated a few of his benefactors with appointments. Buhari does not hold the Constitution of Nigeria dear to heart and as such behaves with maximum use of force. His goons have been harassing the Legislature and the Judiciary on the pretext that they are fighting corruption, but they deliberately target those they consider inimical to their hold on power. They have invaded homes of Judges in the middle of the night, breaking down doors, and swarmed on the National Assembly with thugs and later with hooded and gun-totting secret agents in broad daylight. He has suspended the Chief Justice of Nigeria when he has neither the authority nor the power to do so. Buhari and those who support this brigandage and total assault on recognised and reverent principles of law and established constitutional institutions choose to forget that the worst kind of corruption is the abuse of power itself.  When it is for ulterior and base motives, as is now obviously the case, it becomes a menace that all well-meaning and true democrats must resist with all their might. There can be no excuse or justification. Otherwise we may as well embrace not just dictatorship, but anarchy.

Four. Buhari has been a divisive leader who appears not to believe in the unity of Nigeria. Under his government, Nigeria and Nigerians have been more divided. The lop-sidedness of his security appointments have been dangerously fixated on people of the same ethnic group and religious persuasion, and he does it with nonchalance and condescension. If you like, jump into the Atlantic Ocean, our President won’t blink an eye. He claims, with a straight face that he makes appointments on merit, but we’ve not seen the reflection and positive effects of this merit on the war against corruption, terrorists and insurgents.

Five. Buhari’s economic blueprint has been more involved in his stereotypical tightening up the noose on the economy, scaring investors away with ill-thought economic policies and reversal of contractual obligations without negotiations with parties involved, instead of opening up the economy.  This has all happened because of his obsession with so-called corruption. Yet, under his watch, not much has been achieved because of his desperation to hold on to power. This has forced him to compromise, capitulate and led him to bring the biggest and possibly most corrupt chieftains of other parties closer to him. He turns the proverbial blind eye to the infamous activities of these nefarious characters because they are perceived as being able to achieve his unbridled ambition for a second term. He had lost elections on three previous occasions and only won when he got the so-called bad guys to help him attain power. Right now, he is heavily relying on them again to bail him out of imminent defeat next week. And this is the man who falsely claims to espouse anti-corruption credentials and touts himself as a man of integrity.

Six. Buhari has failed spectacularly on all his major campaign promises. Nigeria is far worse than he met it. I will be the first to congratulate the government on its achievements in the rail sector and also the success with the militant problem in the Niger Delta. Other than that, he could not even stabilise what he inherited talk less of improving on it. His government has been struggling to control the free-fall of the Naira against the Dollar. He has not been able to cancel and eliminate fuel subsidies which he once described as a big scam and on which the corruption fight has been largely hinged. In fact, payments have more than doubled and the NNPC now holds a monopoly on importation of petroleum products with attendant risk of corruption in high places. We are none the wiser about security spending by him. This was the second plank on which the anti-corruption war was predicated. Loans have ballooned astronomically, yet infrastructure development remains outlandishly backward. We only get to read about monumental achievements on paper.

Seven. The last but not the least in my view is the perpetual and puerile blame game. Four years after getting power from PDP, Buhari has not stopped blaming his predecessors, forgetting that this was precisely the reason PDP was sacked from power. Buhari won those elections not on his own accord, but because the general populace had become totally disenchanted with PDP, it’s profligacy, looting and mendacity. Sadly, It seems we have come full circle. Since Buhari has shown the inability to perform the magic he promised, it is time to send him back home, with the sure message that whosoever comes next will suffer the same fate. It is a democratic template we must put in place now and forever. Otherwise, we must accept whatever fate befalls our dear country.

The world is watching.

I have nothing against Christians in Kaduna state – Governor El-Rufa’i says

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i, has denied claims that he does not like Christians in the state.

Speaking during a Town Hall Meeting with a group of pastors under the auspices of ‘Pastors United For Change Association’ held in Kaduna yesterday February 9th, Governor El-Rufai reiterated that he has nothing against Christians in the state, adding that his choice of running mate, Dr.Hadiza Balarabe, who is a muslim and also from Sanga local government area of Southern Kaduna, was purely on her capacity to deliver and not based on religious sentiment.

Speaking at the meeting, the governor said

Quote:“In my life, I have never worked with people based on religious and ethnic consideration. Don’t look at what people said but what I have done in the past. Go through my records and see what I have done. On the issue of my running mate, we are encouraging women participation in politics. She is a competent woman.
“Late Prof. Andrew Nok, our late Commissioner for Education, brought Hadiza Balarabe when we were looking for someone that can revive our primary health in the state and she performed excellently well. I don’t know her before. Her choice as a running mate has nothing to do with religion‎. I am confident that my running mate will run the state effectively and will be fair to all in the state even if I am not around''.

''No election will hold in Zamfara if APC is excluded'' - Governor Yari tells INEC

The faceoff between the Zamfara state chapter of the APC and INEC appears to have taken a new turn as the state Governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar, has threatened that there would be no elections in the State if the electoral body fails to field its candidates during the elections.
Recall that INEC have refused to allow the party present any candidate following the crisis that rocked the party primaries in October last year. No viable governorship candidate emerged from the governorship primaries that was characterised by viloence from the different factions within the party. INEC insists that Zamfara APC has no candidates because the party did not conduct primaries and submitted no list to the commission up till the 7th October deadline for submission.
Speaking at an APC campaign rally in Talata Mafara local government area on Friday, Governor Yari told the APC supporters.

Quote:“There is no way elections will be conducted in Zamfara State without APC candidates, despite Zamfara High Court judgment which confirmed that APC conducted primaries in the state”.
According to the governor, it will be a huge mistake and threat to national security for INEC to bar Zamfara APC candidates from contesting during the forthcoming general elections in the state.
Quote:“All our actions are based on Zamfara High Court Order, we are therefore advising INEC to obey the order and include the names of Zamfara APC candidates list submitted to the commission”he said.

INEC had maintained that Zamfara APC has no candidates because the party did not conduct primaries and submitted no list to the commission up till the 7th October deadline for submission.
The Zamfara APC had approached the state High Court to challenge INEC’s stand and the court, in its ruling, affirmed that the APC held primaries and asked INEC to accept the candidates.

No fewer than two persons were confirmed dead and six others injured, when a tanker bearing petrol fell at Amawbia Roundabout in Awka and went up in flames on Saturday night.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt from eyewitnesses that at least eight vehicles and some residential buildings within the vicinity were also destroyed in the inferno.

Eyewitness account said that the fire occurred in front of the Amawbia Fire Service and near the Police Headquarters, Anambra Governor’s Lodge and other public buildings.

Narrating his experience, one of the victims, Mr Paul Igwemma, whose car got burnt in the fire, said the tanker was negotiating a bend when it fell and subsequently burst into flames.

Igwemma, who was full of praises to God, said he had to abandon his vehicle and ran for his dear life.

“I saw the vehicle trying to negotiate to this direction and all of a sudden the tank fell and hit the pavement of the roundabout so I immediately out of my car.

“Few seconds after, there was an explosion accompanied by fire and as you can see, my car is burnt beyond recognition, together with about ten other vehicles,” he said.

An eyewitness, Mary Anyaora, who was seen weeping at the scene, said the number of casualties could still be more.

Anyaora said that many more people were still trapped in their buildings and might not be able to escape from the fire.
She said that the effect of the fire could have been minimal, if there was an immediate intervention from the Fire Service.

Confirming the incident, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), blamed the incident on careless driving on the part of the tanker driver.

Kumapayi said that two persons died, while six others sustained injuries with eight vehicles burnt beyond recognition.

“The driver did not stop when the tank fell, the incident happened in front of the Fire Service and fire fighters were still making efforts to put out the fire,” he said.

NAN reports that the fire was still raging at the time of filing the report, while men of the fire service were seen battling to put it out.

*RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*❤PREACH HIS LOVE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS .❤*

*(FREE FEBRUARY PDF* =>http://distribution.rhapsodyofrealities.org/?p=CEAVZ)
Sunday, February 10th

PASTOR CHRIS

_*…Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth (Romans 14:22).*_

Some people like it when a message of condemnation and judgement is preached. They prefer to hear more about sin and its judgement. But fear of judgement has never produced righteousness or the love of God. Gospel means good news, and that’s what Jesus sent us to preach and teach. He said, _*“…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”*_ (Mark 16:15).

It’s not enough that you’re preaching a message about Jesus Christ; the message must be about His liquid love, the remission of sin that He made possible, and His gift of righteousness to everyone who believes. Don’t preach judgment or condemnation; preach His love and righteousness.

Some don’t like it when we preach righteousness and the love of Christ to sinners. What they don’t realise is that righteousness is actually a gift to the sinner, and not essentially to the Christian, because the Christian is born righteous. The sinner, upon hearing and believing the message of the Gospel, receives eternal life, which comes bundled with the gift of righteousness.

When we preach righteousness, people embrace righteousness, and once they do, they start living right. That’s because righteousness is a nature; it’s the nature of God that’s imparted to the spirit of the one who’s born again, granting him the ability to live right. Right living is a product of righteousness. No one can live right, who isn’t first made righteous; and only God gives righteousness; it’s not something you obtain by your own good works.

This is why we preach the Gospel, for only through the Gospel is the righteousness of God unveiled. Paul said, _*“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith...”*_ (Romans 1:16-17). Did you notice that?

So, if we don’t preach the true Gospel, people will never understand righteousness, and that would defeat the purpose for which Christ came to the world. He came to make men sons of God; He came to make sinners righteous. He came to make us one with the Father, and have His life and nature of righteousness. Hallelujah!

                *CONFESSION*

*Loving Father, thank you for your liquid love so lavishly poured out on all; the remission of sin made possible by the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus, and the resultant gift of righteousness to everyone who believes. Today, your righteousness is unveiled and embraced as many hear and receive the Gospel all around the world. Many are saved, healed, and delivered, and darkness is dispelled, to the glory and praise of your Name. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Romans 6:13-14* Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. *||*

*||* *2 Corinthians 5:21* For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. *||*

A groom was led away from his Pennsylvania wedding in handcuffs after allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage waitress and beginning a brawl.

Matthew Ronald Aimers and his bride on their wedding day

A groom was handcuffed at his own wedding for allegedly groping a teenager and exposing himself in a bathroom stall.

On Wednesday, Matthew Ronald Aimers, 31, of Willingboro, N.J., was arraigned on charges dating from his Nov. 24 wedding in Bucks County, Pa., as originally reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer. He was nabbed for harassment, disorderly conduct, indecent assault and exposure, as well as corruption and imprisonment of a minor.

After saying “I do,”  Aimers apparently scoped out an underage waitress working at his Northampton Valley Country Club wedding reception.

According to a criminal complaint sent to Yahoo Lifestyle by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, Aimers propositioned her for a hookup, saying “we can do whatever you want.”  When the employee said no, Aimers stalked her in the restroom, grabbed her arm and forced her into a stall, blocking the door with his body. During the alleged sexual assault, Aimers pulled down his pants and said, “Can you kiss me like you mean it?” and offered the victim $100 for sexual favors. She pushed him off and ran from the bathroom.

[size=undefined]

In the complaint, Aimers then started “pushing and punching people” by the venue’s front doors. An employee told police he got punched because he stopped Aimers from bringing an alcoholic drink outside.

Aimers jumped on a shuttle bus to avoid Northampton Township Police officers who were called to the venue; however, an officer with a Taser gun removed the groom. Aimers allegedly called the officer a “b***” and a “p****” and challenged him to a fight.

Newsweek revealed that Aimers was freed from jail after paying only 10 percent of his $350,000 bail.

For his behavior toward employees, Aimers was charged with simple assault and harassment. And for the altercation with the police, he faces disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Aimers had a preliminary hearing on Jan. 17 and his arraignment will be held in Bucks County Court next week.

Aimers’s attorney Louis Busico did not return Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. He told the Philadelphia Inquirer that his client “absolutely denies all charges.”

“He maintains his innocence, and he looks forward to clearing his name when this is all concluded,” said Busico.[/size]

The prime suspect of the case concerning a lady who was stripped naked by a group of people and had pepper inserted into her private parts for allegedly stealing a mobile phone in Benin City, has reportedly been arrested.

According to a report by Barrister Jefferson Uwoghiren, who has been on the case since the video of the lady being tortured went viral, the man was arrested on Wednesday evening, along with the manager of a hotel he lodged briefly in Benin City, Edo state.

In his report, Uwoghiren stated that the prime suspect who had been with the said lady, had complained about a missing phone. He then forced the victim to a native doctor around Ugbiyokho area of Ekehuan Road, Benin City, to determine if she was guilty or not.

The victim was instantaneously pronounced guilty and asked to produce the missing phone, before being tortured.

Read the report below.

Quote:The middle aged man that mobilized thugs and street animals to rape and sexually molest a young girl in a trending video has been arrested. He was arrested this evening, along with the manager of a hotel he lodged briefly.
His arrest this evening, opened the lid on the motive and participants involved in the sordid attack. The suspect was temporarily and amorously linked with the victim and subsequently complained of a missing phone. He collared the victim to a native “doctor”, around Ugbiyokho area of Ekehuan Road, Benin City, to determine the culpability of the victim.
As customary with these fake and useless native “ doctors “, the victim was instantaneously pronounced guilty and asked to produce the missing phone. Victim’s denial and protest fell on deaf ears. The suspect, native “ doctor” and apprentice native “ doctors” pounced on the victim , beat her up, striped her naked, and procured granulated chilly pepper, popularly called “ Akpoko” in local language and inserted it into the victim’s private, all dramatically caught on video.
A massive manhunt is on for the fake and useless native “ doctor” and his apprentices .

Patience Jonathan to know fate of seized $153m on Monday February 11th

Federal High Court sitting in Lagos and presided by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun will on Monday, 11th February, 2019, deliver judgement in a motion for final forfieture of $153m (One Hundred and Fifty Three Million Dollars) linked to former first lady Dame Patience Jonathan by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The $153m (One Hundred and Fifty Three Million Dollars) is just one of the several forfeiture orders against the former first lady. The EFCC, through its Prosecution Lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, had in June 2017, approached the court and sought for an exparte order for interim forfeiture under Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud Act, Section 34 of EFCC Act and other related offences Act.
The Judge granted the application and directed the EFCC to advertise the order on two National Dailies so that any interested parties can proof the legitimacy of the funds. It was consequent on the publication that counsels to the former first lady, Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN, and Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, filed and argued that there was no complainant of loss of money to EFCC and that Patience Jonathan is not a public office holder during the four year tenure of her husband, they therefore urged the court to set aside the interim order of forfieture earlier made.
However Oyedepo in his response, urged the court to order final forfieture of $1153m to the federal government of Nigeria as he described the money as a proceed of an unlawful activities lundered under some fictitious companies. He further agued that the person claiming ownership of these illicit funds must show to the court her interest, her name was not among the director of the companies used to launder these funds neither her name appeared in the mandate card of the company's accounts.
He then prayed the court to order the final forfieture of the funds The Judge, after listening to arguments from bith sides had adjourned the case to Monday, February 11, 2019 for judgement.

Boy, 6, beheaded in Saudi Arabia in front of his screaming mum for belonging to the wrong religion

A six-year-old boy was beheaded in front of his screaming mum in Saudi Arabia for belonging to the wrong branch of Islam.
The child and his mother visited a shrine to the Prophet Muhammad in Medina. While there, they were allegedly approached and were asked if they were Shia Muslims. The mum said they are indeed Shia Muslims and several minutes later a car pulled up beside them and the child was snatched away from her.
The boy was then repeatedly stabbed in the neck with a piece of broken glass until he was beheaded, it is claimed. His mum cried out helplessly as he was killed in front of her.

In Saudi Arabia, the predominant branch of Islam is Sunni, accounting for around three quarters of the population.
Human rights groups say practitioners of other forms of the Islam faith are persecuted in the country.
Shia Rights Watch, a Washington DC-based campaign group, said of the public murder:

Quote:There was no intervention from anyone and no response from authority thus far.
The Saudi Shia community came together in mourning and to show solidarity with the parents.
The community also reported this incident is a result of ongoing violations and lack of protection by the Saudi authority toward its Shia population.
Saudi Shia have been under military crackdown by their government and many Shia are in prisons and on death toll.

'My cousin taught me how to steal from shops' – 22-year old suspect opens up

Daniel Olanrewaju, a self-confessed robber has ended up in police custody three weeks after he broke into a boutique in Agbado, Ogun State. It was learnt that the 22-year-old suspect was accosted by some vigilantes in the community while he was roaming about last Tuesday night.

When he was questioned on his mission in the area, he reportedly could not give satisfactory answers. He was arrested and handed over to the police at the Agbado division. After further interrogation, he confessed to have burgled the boutique and stolen trousers, jerseys, among other clothes.

The resident of Somolu, Lagos State, reportedly led the police to arrest one Ibrahim, with whom he kept some of the stolen clothes. Olanrewaju told City Round during the week that he burgled the boutique on January 28, 2019 at night. He said he entered the attic and broke the ceiling to gain access into the shop. He explained that after the operation, he took his loot to Costain area of Lagos and kept them with a friend.

Quote:He said, “I was very broke because I could not get any work from my customers. While I was thinking about the way out, it occurred to me that I could steal. I decided to go to somewhere far from where I live.
“On January 28, at night, I went to a complex at ‘Agbado under bridge’ and burgled a boutique. I broke the ceiling to enter the store. I stole several trousers and jerseys and ran away. I took them to my friend’s shop in Costain area of Lagos. I was thinking of how to sell them.”
He said when he could not find buyers for the items, he took some of them to Ibrahim, a tea seller in Agbado last Tuesday.
Olanrewaju explained that he was strategising on how to market the clothes without running into trouble until it was dark. He said he was stranded and decided to pass the night outside a shop.

He said, “As I wanted to sleep, a vigilante shone the torchlight on me. I ran to hide somewhere. The man alerted other vigilantes and I was caught. They asked me what I was doing outside at night and I told them I was stranded. They were not satisfied with my response and they threatened to kill me if I did not say the truth. That was why I decided to tell them about the crime.
“They beat me up and took me to the police station. I mentioned Ibrahim and the police arrested him. He did not know that I stole the clothes.”  Asked if he had been involved in the crime in the past, Olanrewaju stated that he was exposed to the act by his cousin while he was living in Benin Republic, where his father hailed from.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.

Herdsmen Kill Parishioners In Benue; Seek Death Of Businessman

The alleged killing of Rev Father Joseph Gor, Felix Tyolaha, and other dedicated members of St Ignatius Quasi Parish, Ukpor, Mbalom in Gwer West Local Government Council of Benue have been condemned by Christian agencies across Nigeria.

A statement by its Director of Communications, Rev Fr Moses Lorapuu, said that the attacks were perpetrated by herdsmen who stormed the Mbalom community, killed parishioners during the morning mass at the church.

Presently the church is in search of some of their prominent businessmen and missionaries who are the major sponsors of activities in the church, allegedly on the death roll of the invading herdsmen.

We gathered that Victor Nwankwo, Silvester Okowa and three others were suspected to be targeted at, during the early morning bloodbath by Fulani herdsmen. These men according to reports are the major benefactors of the Catholic Church development in Benue state. They herdsmen allegedly claim that Victor Nwankwo and his four colleagues was amongst the missionaries that converted hundreds of Muslims to Christians.

According to investigations, Victor Nwankwo and his fellow missionaries are yet to be found as they have become a search agenda in the list of Africa’s most dreaded insurgent group.

The Diocese expressed regret at the nonchalant attitude of the security agencies in containing the killings. It said the herdsmen, who stormed the community, burnt down houses, destroyed crops and killed people. The church, therefore, urged the relevant authorities to stop the killings in the Benue valley.

Rev.Lorapuu said the Diocese had been active in providing food and relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) since the onset of hostilities in the state and wondered why it could be marked as a target of attacks. “The attack on the priests is an attack on everything that we ever stood for and believed in,” says Lorapuu. Meanwhile, concerted efforts to get reaction from the Benue Police Command failed as its Public Relations Officer, ASP Moses Yamu, was not forthcoming with remarks. Rev. Fr. Gor had before the attack written on Facebook; “Living in fear. The fulani herdsmen are still around us in Mbalom. They refuse to go. They still go grazing around us. No weapons to defend ourselves”. Herdsmen in the early hours of the morning attacked a Catholic Church and parishioners who went for 5.30 a.m. mass. Reports say the bodies of the dead have been taken to St. Theresa’s Hospital Makurdi.
