RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SUNDAY, 15TH SEPTEMBER.

LET THE WORD CONTROL YOUR VALUES

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).

When the Bible talks about the carnal mind, it doesn’t mean a sinful mind per se, even though the carnal mind is prone to sin. A carnal mind means a mind that’s ordinary; of mere human understanding; just normal human life.

The person who’s carnally-minded, even though he’s born again, reasons and acts like the natural man. He lives according to the senses. He’s more attuned to, and concerned about the things of the flesh. The Word and the spiritual realities of the Kingdom hardly get his attention.

Now, the Bible tells us that to live that way is enmity against God (Romans 8:7); meaning that the carnal Christian walks at cross-purposes with God. He’s not ruled by or subject to the Word of God; a state that leads to death—separation from everything gracious and divine! Why in the world should anyone live at such a base level?

Be Spirit-ruled and Word-governed. Refuse to be stirred by and attracted to fleshly things. The Bible says, “…they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh…” (Romans 8:5). What are the things that stir you up? Remember, where a man’s treasure is, there will his heart be also.

You’re after the Spirit if your affection time and energies are focused on things pertaining to Christ, His Gospel, and the eternal life that He’s given us. So, let the Word of God control your values, ideas, opinions, choices and decisions.

CONFESSION

I’m not moved by what I feel, see or perceive through the senses! I’m born again and full of the Holy Ghost, with the very life of Christ in me. Therefore, I’m not ordinary! My mind and affections are set on the Lord and things pertaining to Christ, His Gospel, and eternal Kingdom. Blessed be God!

#TALKINGSESSION

15TH SEPTEMBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Lord, You’re my God! Early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my spirit longs for Your Word as the deer pants for the water brooks. I delight in Your Word and yield to it for exhortation, doctrine, and counsel; in it, I’ve found life, peace, righteousness, and everlasting joy.

Thank You for the privilege of being seated with You in the realms of power and glory, far above all principality, power, might and every domain of darkness! I reign with You today over the circumstances of life and every negative force of nature, declaring that Your perfect and eternal will is fulfilled in my life – in my job, family, finances and in the lives of those in my world and the regions beyond. I thank You for the ministry of Your Word in my life.

The Word is like a burning fire shut up in my bones. I can’t hold it back; I’ll promote and publish it everywhere with fervency until it engulfs my world. I am a burning and a shining light and many are coming to bask in the brightness of my light, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL.

DATE: SUNDAY, 15TH SEPTEMBER 2019.

THEME: THE SOURCE OF STRENGTH.

MEMORISE:
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. (Luke 2:10)

READ: COLOSSIANS 1:9-11 (KJV)

9. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

MESSAGE
Joy is a great source of strength that many people are unaware of. Nehemiah knew this, and he continuously drew strength from joy in turbulent times.

When the people he led were downcast, he was able to encourage them to draw strength from this same source, based on his own personal experience. He said to them in Nehemiah 8:10:

“… Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portion unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

In this perilous time, we need strength to run the Christian race.

Thankfully, our heavenly Father has what it takes to give us all the strength we need.
Our strength can be found in the joy of the Lord.

No wonder our Lord Jesus was anointed to give “ the oil of joy ” to those without strength (Isaiah 61:3) this same anointing is available to us today through the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

In fact, one dimension of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is joy (Galatians 5:22).

It is therefore obvious that we need to make Him our friend if we don’t want to experience weariness in our walk with God.

However, to be a friend of the Holy Spirit, you need to first live a holy life.

Holiness is so paramount to Him that it forms part of His Name. Also, you must avoid grieving Him (Ephesians 4:30).

He is grieved when we refuse to heed His warnings, and the resulting separation leads to futile efforts that drain our strength, because those who lose touch with the Holy Spirit are usually taken over by the spirit of error.
May this never be your experience in Jesus’ Name.

While sorrow depletes strength from an individual, joy gives strength.

The Bible tells of how sorrow drained David of strength after his camp was raided and he and his soldiers discovered that their entire families had been taken captive. (1 Samuel 30:4) says:

“ Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep .”

This is why command such as “ weep not ” and “ be good cheer” must be taken seriously (Luke 8:5, Matthew 14:27).

To have unspeakable joy, we need to learn obedience to the word of God.

We can walk in perpetual joy if we maintain the joy of our salvation.

Beloved, if you have lost the joy of your salvation, pray to God for restoration like David did in Psalm 51:12 and He will restore you.

I pray that you will be full of the joy of the Lord from now on in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please give me unspeakable joy to run my Christian race with strength, in Jesus’ Name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 KINGS 20-21, DANIEL 3:1-15

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE

HYMNAL: HYMN 9: IN CHRIST ALONE

1. In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song,
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

2. In Christ alone! Who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on the cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

3. There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

4. No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

*SEEDS OF DESTINY*

*TURNING CAPTIVITY BY SACRIFICE *

15 September, 2019

Beloved, every opportunity to sacrifice is an opportunity to attack curses.

SCRIPTURE: And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beastand offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more. Genesis 8:20-21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every opportunity to sacrifice is an opportunity to attack curses.
It has been scripturally proven that sacrifice establishes liberty. From our anchor Scripture we saw how God perceived the aroma of Noahs sacrifice and took off the curse. So, sacrifice is a cure for curses. Sacrifice turns captivity (Psalms 126:1-5) be it an ancestral captivity, generational captivity or family captivity. When you live sacrificially, captivity situations are turned.

The life of sacrifice can make you go where they say no one is permitted to go. Personally, the only thing I have not released as an offering is my body. The truth is, what God is helping us to do, nobody in our lineage has ever dared it.

Beloved, every opportunity to sacrifice is an opportunity to attack curses. When you are sacrificial, you are fire-full; you are fire in motion. And when the ancestral spirits or the demonic agents of your family try to stop you, they will realize that you are not a stoppable personality.

My counsel is, raise altars of sacrifice continually to counter any altar speaking against your life and destiny. The truth is, if you have any meaningful destiny, there are altars that would not want you to fulfil it, so let your altar of sacrifice speak against those evil altars continually (Psalms 50:5).
Remember this: Every opportunity to sacrifice is an opportunity to attack curses.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Live sacrificially; deploy your time, effort and resources maximally for the benefit of humanity and for Kingdom advancement.
2. Make demands on God for the grace to sacrifice.
3. Speak forcefully against the altars trying to resist your destiny fulfilment, by the Blood of Jesus.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: ESCAPING CURSES AND WALKING IN LIBERTY

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to live sacrificially. I silence every altar speaking against my life and destiny by the Blood of Jesus, Lord in Jesus Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Isaiah 19:1 to 21:17, Galatians 2:1 to 16, Psalm 59:1 to 17, Proverbs 23:13 to 14

*OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL*

_A DAILY DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR CHAMPIONS_

*DATE: SUNDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER, 2019*

*TOPIC: YOU MAKE OR UNMAKE YOURSELF!*

*BASIC SCRIPTURE: PROVERBS 23:7; PSALM 139:17-24*

Heaven is reminding you again that your thoughts are the ladders you use to arrive at your God-given destinies. Proverb 23:7a amplifies this law thus: “for as he thinketh is the in his heart, so he is.” Be reminded A.A. Allen: *“Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Watch your words; they become your actions; they become your habits.

Watch your habits; they become your character. Watch your character for it will become your destiny.”* Your thoughts are the determinants of your destiny. No matter how 2019 has been, watch what you think!

Drink also from the wisdom of Shakti Gawain: *“The most powerful thing you can do to change the world is to change your own beliefs about the nature of life, people and reality to something more positive… and begin to act accordingly. Man is made or unmade by himself! By the right choice he ascends. As a begin of power, intelligence, and love and the lord of his own thoughts, he holds the key to every situation…”* Yes! As you get out of bed daily, BE A LORD OVER YOUR OWN THOUGHTS! Hear mahatma Gandhi again: *“I will keep my words positive. Words behaviours become my behaviours. I will keep my behaviours positive. Behaviours become my habits. I will keep my habits positive! Habits become my values. I will keep my values positive! Values become my destiny.”*

The Holy Ghost is emphasing to you again: thoughts are so important! David said in psalm 139:23-24; “Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my *THOUGHTS…”* He knew that his thoughts could make or unmake his life. Catch that secret and reject depression, self-pity, comparing yourself to others, fear of the future, etc. Be A Lord Over Your Own Thoughts Today/daily!

*PRAYER POINTS:* Take your best worship song to God!
1. Uproot any negative thinking syndrome or habits.
2. Father, quicken my mind with your fire and word.
3. I cancel by the Blood of Jesus, all effects of my past negative thinking in Jesus name. Holy Ghost, saturate my thoughts with ideas of progress in Jesus name.
4. Pray for the unmarried (for 3days) and for the married who are believing God for children.
5. Pray about the year 2019 again as you are led.

CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH

THE LIVING WATER {July ~ Dec., 2019}

DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

Sunday, September 15, 2019

- International Day of Democracy & Software Freedom Day

TOPIC: THE HONORARY HONOURABLES
Read Acts 4:1-7

1. And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2. Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4. Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5. And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
6. And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
7. And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

MEMORISE: Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead (Acts 4:1,2)

EXPOSITION

Imagine the category of people who were out to lynch the disciples for setting one of their subjects free and preaching the message of life - the Priests, captain of the temple and the Sadducees. These were the top echelon of the temple. They wanted to lead, but avoided being led by anybody, not even their Saviour.

One of the definitions of honour is, "To dignify, to raise to distinction, or notice." Though they sit in Moses' seat, they were not ready to shoulder the people's responsibilities as Moses did. They were so ignorant; the message that brought sporadic increase in the population of the church had no place in them. The likes are many in our churches and society, today. Only God knows how they scramble their way to the top, by means of crook or fluke. They sit in honourable seats to defraud, oppress and impoverish the people the more. They are in the community, worship centres, government, and workplaces. Their subjects groan, but they never get concerned.

Why are you in position of authority - to lead away or lead to the truth and life? Do you merit the position you currently occupy? Is it also by God's grace or self-imposition? No wonder they are proud, envious, even of a junior officer, and exact themselves more than necessary. If they are there, no one else must be there! Oh! Their fall is without repair, because they have neglected God, who enthrones and dethrones. As honourable pastors, hope you are still living up to the expectation both of God and man? Let all leaders retrace their steps back to God, to be rightly honoured.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, forgive me where I have deliberately opposed Your work and ministers.
2. Father, help our political leaders to make their policies people oriented.
3. Lord, bring down as many as possible leaders, in church and politics, who are there to obstruct the Gospel of salvation, no matter how highly they have exacted themselves.
