A viral video shows controversial South African preacher, Paseka Motsoeneng, aka Prophet Mboro, leader of the Church of Incredible Happenings praying for a man and his wife to regain its libido, after which he ordered the couple to have intercourse on live TV.

According to reports, the unusual prayer session took place at the couple's home in Zonke, Ekurhuleni last month. In the video shared on
Facebook, the Pastor started by touching the man's joystick and then instructed him to pull it out while he is sitting at the edge of the bed with his wife.

Next, the pastor instructed the wife to stroke it for him which the wife obeyed. Then the husband is told by the pastor to touch his wife's private part and he did. After that both where asked to do the real thing while covered in bed with the cameras and pastor standing there while still shouting "Jesus".

In 2016, the controversial pastor made headline nationwide when he claimed he visited Heaven and earlier this year he also said he went to hell, where he conquered the world of its evils by killing Lucifer.

2019 Elections: Atiku, Tinubu Have Abandoned Buhari - Sule Lamido
User Avatar Forum: Politics

@POLITICSNGR

Former governor of Jigawa state and presidential aspirant, Sule Lamido has revealed that president Muhammadu Buhari has been dumped by two leading members of the ruling APC, ex-vice president, Atiku Abubakar and former governor of Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Lamido, the president is now left with his 'tiny' CPC members having lost the total support of those that brought him to power in 2015. He told Sun;

“That is my business if they endorse him or if he runs? Buhari came from a very small party called the CPC. Without the influence of the ACN and the governors who left the PDP, there was no way he would have won because he came from a very tiny party. If those who came together to make him what he is, are no longer in the party, then he has my sympathy for failing to understand this. Look here, Buhari is no threat to the PDP.

In PDP, we do not give a damn on whoever the APC presents for 2019 because we are more than two-thirds. We know that as a party, we have made some mistakes and we apologise to Nigerians. If the likes of Tinubu and Atiku feel concerned about what is happening in APC and those who were originally in PDP leave, what will become of him? He would only be left with his tiny CPC, I don’t know how he would do it, but that is his problem, not mine. In any case, the Buhari of today is not the Buhari of 2015.

The Buhari of today is fatigued; he is faced with what you call political party management in a democracy. It is not where you give orders; here, you have to build some consensus. You can see he cannot even relate well with the Senate President of his own party.

So, the Buhari of today is not the Buhari of 2015. Before 2015, he was Buhari the puritanical. Buhari, who they saw as the only man at the helm of 20 million people that Nigerians in the APC were ready to surrender their trust, their reasoning, their honour and everything because they are so lazy. Look at what (Professor Itse) Sagay said about the APC. He said they are all thieves."

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, arraigned Adamu Ado Bomboy, Sadiq Abubakar Tijjani, Abban Thomas, Umar Idris, Rabiu Haruna and Elephant Group Ideas Nigeria Limited, before Justice A. B. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja, on a 4-count charge of criminal conspiracy and illegal diversion of food meant for Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.

Bomboy and his co-accused sometime in May 2016 were allegedly entrusted with 249 trucks of maize belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria meant for delivery to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in the North Eastern States of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi and Taraba.

The defendants were discovered to have dishonestly converted 65 of the said trucks of maize to personal use.
The offence contravenes Section 311 and punishable under Section 312 of the Penal Code Act Chapter 532 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (Abuja).

One of the counts reads:

“That you, Alhaji Adamu Ado Bomboy (while being the Managing Director of Elephant Group Ideas Nigeria Limited), Elephant Group Ideas Nigeria Limited and Sadiq Abubakar Tijjani, sometime in May 2016 at Abuja within the Jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, while being entrusted with 249 trucks of Maize belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria for delivery to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the North Eastern States of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi and Taraba, dishonestly converted 65 (sixty five) trucks of the said Maize to your own use in violation of legal contracts which you made in regard to the delivery of the said goods and thereby committed an offence”.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the counts. In view of their pleas, counsel to EFCC, Salisu Majindadi informed the court of the prosecution’s readiness to open trial.

“My Lord, we have two witnesses in court and we are ready to open our case today”, he said. However, Bomboy’s counsel, J. J. Onye, and other counsel in the defence asked the court for more time to prepare their defence, but were objected by Majindadi who said, “The defence counsel was served with the charge for more than one month and therefore require no time to prepare”.

The defence counsel further urged the court to admit the clients to bails. Their applications were also objected to by Majindadi, who urged the court to remand the accused persons in Kuje prison.

After listening to the submissions of counsel, Justice Mohammed adjourned to November 13, 2017, for ruling on the bail applications and ordered the defendants to be remanded in Kuje prison.

Quote:Baby who spoke two weeks after birth: Real or fake?

…Baby told us to proclaim his healing powers – Mother
…We tried to abort the baby – Father
…Family rakes in money from miracles seekers
…Boy should be protected – Deji of Akure

By Dayo Johnson

NO doubt the birth of a baby boy called ” Daddy Samuel” to the family of Mr. Olusola Ajayi in Akure, Ondo State capital on August 28, 2017, has greatly turned around the fortunes of the family.

The baby now known as a wonder boy, whose parents claimed had spoken twice in two weeks after his birth and possess healing powers had not uttered any word ever since to convince critics.

He has reportedly transferred his healing spirit to his mother, who can now heal anyone no matter the spiritual problems especially anytime she carries the wonder boy on her bosom.

Vanguard reliably learned that only the mother of the baby, Mrs. Sikiratu Ajayi, claimed the baby uttered the words “E polongo ogo mi o, e polongo ogo mi o ewe nje o” meaning that the parents should proclaim his power across the universe and that there is efficacy in herbs.

She was said to have passed the message to her husband after which the news has continued to spread like wildfire.

Mixed reactions have trailed the claim by the baby’s parents as many described it as a scam.

They argued that the parents were unable to produce any evidence that the baby actually spoke.

But the parents insisted that the baby not only spoke to them but possessed healing powers.

Whether the story is real or fake, Nigerians are not bothered as they troop to the residence of the Ajayi for miracles.

The wonder baby has become a household name not only in Ondo state but across the country.

Interestingly, the parents are making money on daily basis courtesy of the baby, who they described as a special gift.

His sobriquet was changed from baby Samuel to “Daddy Samuel” when his reported healing powers began to spin money for the family who could hardly afford three square meal before his arrival.

N600 as consultation fee

Vanguard gathered that the parents of the wonder baby collect N600 as consultation fee out of which N100 is for the sachet water provided by their landlady.

After consultation, the sachet of water is prayed upon by the mother, who claimed that his son had transferred healing powers to her. Each visitor drops a minimum of N5000 in a bowl kept in the consulting room for the wonder baby. The mother now carries the wonder boy in her blossom while attending to miracle seekers in the healing centre.

Surprisingly, both the low and high personalities from across the country visit the wonder boy for spiritual healing and deliverance.

The father of the wonder baby now smiles to the bank daily.

An average of 500 miracle seekers visit the two-month-old baby. A bunch of leaves was said to have preceded his birth at around 3 am at Comprehensive Health Centre in Akure.

His father claimed that ”Daddy Samuel was born with a bunch of leaves bonded by a strand of hair which possesses special healing powers.

He told Vanguard that he recently relocated his family to Akure from Lagos State when fending for his family became difficult.

Olusola said that they tried all they could to abort the pregnancy because he could not cater for his wife and the three boys they had before the coming of the wonder baby.

Gave birth to a bunch of leaves

A visit to Comprehensive Health Centre in Oke ljebu area, Akure, confirmed the position of the baby’s parents.

The nurses, who took delivery of the wonder baby confirmed that the mother first gave birth to a bunch of leaves at 3 am while the baby came four hours later.

Speaking with Vanguard in confidence, one of the nurses said they were scared when the bunch of leaves was delivered by the woman and that they prayed rebuking the evil spirit that had entered into her womb.

According to the nurse, ” We had to call the matron to witness the strange delivery because it was unusual.”

Confirming this to Vanguard, the matron Mrs. Joan Mohaye said that she was woken up from her sleep, adding that by the time she rushed to the hospital she saw the bunch of leaves.

Mohaye said while the nurses and other patients were wondering and beholding the strange object, the woman again fell into labour after which the baby arrived four hours later.

She said the baby didn’t talk while at the hospital.

Vanguard reliably gathered that the parents of the wonder boy have purchased a piece of land to erect a building, where they would relocate to.

Motorcycle operators are also making money on a daily basis as they have hiked their fares from N50 per drop to N200 to the healing centre.

The father of the wonder boy said: “My wife gave birth on August 28, 2017, after a bunch of leaves came out of her womb and we were amazed after he began to talk, charging us to proclaim his coming to the world.

” The mysterious powers of Samuel, born at a Comprehensive Health Centre in Akure, became noticeable when a bunch of leaves was said to have preceded his coming out of the mother’s womb.

“Two weeks later, Samuel shocked us and his three older brothers when he instructed us to proclaim his coming to the world.”

The miracle seekers would be asked to drink the water from one of the sachets and use the other to take their bath.

The visitor would in anticipation be asked to appreciate the wonder boy with cash.

A source hinted that visitors were advised not to give less than N3000 to the wonder baby.

The amount of moeny given to the baby, Vanguard reliably gathered depended on the status of the visitor and the magnitude of the problem the visitor has.

Vanguard, however, gathered that majority of baby Samuel’s clients are women, who are seeking future partners.

Those searching for the fruits of the womb, those with issues in their marriages, and those with spiritual attacks, among others, visit the baby.

Speaking with Vanguard, Sikiratu expressed delight over the birth of the boy, saying that nurses were initially scared when she first gave birth to leaves before the real baby came out.

She said, “ Two weeks after he was born, I went to the next street when one of my other children suddenly came to call me that the baby was uttering some words and l rushed back home and heard the baby speaking. I was shocked when he directed that we should announce his glory to the whole world.

One of the workers in the miracle centre told Vanguard that ” the service rendered was initially free but we started collecting consultation fee of N500 per head with a view to reducing the crowd yet the people kept coming from far and near.”

He said all clients who are not fewer than 500 per day are treated equally and fairly without any preferential treatment irrespective of status or position.

Testimonies of the healing power

Meanwhile, testimonies of the healing power of the wonder baby abound.

A woman, Mrs. Abigail said her husband was healed of stroke as she poured the sachet of ‘anointed water’ on him.

“ When I came here I was given the sachet water and I took it to my husband who had stroke. I poured the water on him when I got home and he felt very much better. There was no need to doubt it, it is real,” she added.

A resident of the town, who identified himself as Leke said he had been to the so-called healing house, describing the development as a scam.

He told Vanguard thus:“I was there but did not believe in the story. This is Nigeria, where people look for money anyhow. Nobody, except the mother of the baby, heard he allegedly said.”

In his reaction, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo said he was aware of the baby’s birth, adding that he should be protected.

His Chief Press Secretary, Michael Adeyeye said:“ The palace also heard the story like every other person in the town and Kabiyesi is not trying to confirm or debunk their story. The palace was not involved and we don’t know the actual story.

“ But if the story is true, what kabiyesi is saying is that there is a need to protect the child, but as we speak, nobody has brought the baby to the palace”

Religious leaders, however, expressed divergent views.

The state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, called for caution over the issue.

It’s Director of Planning, Research, and Strategy in the South West, Nelson Fado was quoted as saying thus: ” The miracle baby as being referred to may be genuine to a certain extent. But let us wait and see. The parents should take proper care of the baby and stop making money with him. Natural miracles are not sold or paid for because the salvation of Christ is free.

” The baby is not God or Jesus Christ or angel, hence he must not be turned to God. God’s miracle can occur without an artificial intermediary.

” Remember there used to be Jesu Oyinbo and Agege.

” Believers in Christ should be watchful, careful and know who they believe. CAN from time immemorial did warn Christians to hold on to their faith by not compromising it.”

However, the parents of the wonder boy confirmed receiving gifts from various men of God ( Islamic and Christian clerics)

Baby who spoke two weeks after birth
A Pastor of Celestial Church of Christ CCC, Shalom Parish, lkorodu, Lagos, Gabriel Oluwadamilare had described the baby as a true messenger of God.

Oluwadamilare said that circumstances that surrounded the birth of newborn baby also happened in the Bible.

He said:“I actually came to see the glory and I have no doubt about it. My stand is that what happened is true because nothing is impossible for God to do.

“I have come to seek a spiritual solution in respect of a lady who has visited several hospitals in Lagos over bone problems in the last five years.

“There is nothing fetish about the boy coming to the world with a bunch of leaves, it is just a sign from God.”.

The question being asked by observers is: why has the baby not spoken again to the hearing of other people except his parents?

Husband Rapes Housemaid At Knifepoint, Wife Forces Her To Drink Concoction
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 11-11-2017, 11:33 AM - No Replies

Kunle Falayi
A 13- year - old girl has narrated how she was allegedly raped multiple times by her mistress ’ husband, Mr . Ulonna Amaobi , at Iyana Iba , Lagos .
Mary, an indigene of Jos in Plateau State, was taken to Nnewi , Anambra State , by her elder sister to find her a better life as their pastor father was financially challenged.
In Nnewi , Mary and her sister got separated when they had to work in different homes – her sister as a salesgirl and Mary as a housemaid for Amaobi ’ s mother - in- law .
But without her sister’ s knowledge , Mary was sent to live with the Amaobis in Lagos .
Mary’ s sister, who had insisted on keeping a close watch on her , immediately relocated to Lagos in order to be close to her younger sister.
Mary got to the Amaobis ’ home in April. According to her , the man started raping her right from that month.
“ The first time he raped me and I bled , I reported to madam when she got back home . She did not do anything about it .
But she beat me all the time when she accused me of stealing money, ” the girl said .
Mary said she was also routinely starved.
The couple had promised to enrol Mary in school also but made no attempt to look for a school for her during the four months she was there.
According to the girl , whenever Amaobi wanted to come into her room to rape her , he held a knife to her neck to prevent her from screaming.
“ There was a time madam was in the sitting room . He came to where I was and carried me to his room . I tried to struggle but he held me down and said he would stab me if I made any noise.
When he finished , he told me to get out of the room and to keep quiet because I was crying. I still went to report to his wife and she did not do anything about it , ” the girl said .
The man allegedly continued the sexual attack multiple times despite the girl notifying his wife .
But on Sunday, October 22 , 2017 , he raped her again as usual and the girl ran out of the house to report what he had done again to his wife .
Saturday PUNCH learnt that Amaobi ’ s wife took the girl to a hospital to conduct a pregnancy test on her .
It is not clear what the result showed but when they got home , Mrs. Amaobi allegedly handed the girl an alcoholic herbal drink, which she refused to drink.
“ Madam held a pair of scissors and said she would stab me if I did not drink it . I then drank the liquid . She did not tell me what it was for, ” Mary said .
Shortly after , Mrs . Amaobi told Mary to pack her belongings and she proceeded to hand her over to her sister.
Mary’ s sister cried profusely , blaming herself for everything that had happened to her sister as she narrated the story.
“ I brought her from Jos because I thought I could look after her . I blame myself for all that has happened to her , ” she said .
When the case was reported to the Esther Child Rights Foundation , officials at the NGO notified the police and Mr. Amaobi was arrested.
In a taped statement , Mrs . Amaobi admitted that she indeed took the girl for a test and administered what she called “ hot drink ” on the girl .
But she refused to disclose what the concoction was used for when asked .
She said , “I love the girl like my own child . I love the girl very much . Even when she was stealing money in the house , I took her to our church for deliverance .
“ It is true that she reported to me that my husband raped her . But she only reported once and that was this last time . I was shocked . I wanted to faint . I held my chest and was crying. ”
Director of the ECRF, Mrs . Esther Ogwu, said she petitioned the Lagos Office of Public Defender to ensure justice was done.
Amaobi was finally charged with child sexual abuse and child endangerment at the Ikeja Magistrate ’ s Court , Lagos on Tuesday, November 7 .
He was subsequently remanded at the Kirikiri Prison , Lagos pending when he met his bail conditions .
The case has been adjourned till January 25 for mention.

NLC, NUT Accuse El-rufai of Planning to 30,000 workers
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-11-2017, 09:37 AM - No Replies

The Nigeria Labour Congress has accused Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, of planning to sack 30,000 workers including teachers, local government workers and other ministry employees.

It said the move would deepen poverty in the state, noting that the objective of the government was to reduce the state’s workforce.

Also, the Nigeria Union of Teachers, through its President, Michael Olukoya, condemned the decision of the governor to sack about 21,000 teachers from its employment over “alleged unstructured” competency test that it described as lacking legal process.

The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, who addressed a news conference on Friday in Abuja faulted the reported mass failure of Kaduna primary school teachers, describing it as false and fraudulent.

He said, “The state government has earmarked about 30,000 workers to be laid off, consisting of 21, 780 teachers already penned down to be sacked under the pretext that they failed a competency test while 5,000 local government workers are to be sacked under the Local Government Councils Restructuring Order 2017 and 8,000 more workers in ministries, departments and agencies are to be sacked for sundry but unjustifiable reasons.”

He stated that the competency test was a sham and a pre-meditated action to reduce the workforce, noting that professional bodies like Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and the National Teachers Institute were not involved in the process.

The NLC said the NUT and the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees were equally left out because the motives were clearly not about testing for quality but a ploy to throw people out of employment.

It contended that principles of collective bargaining in labour relations as enshrined in the nation’s labour laws and conventions of the International Labour Organisation were not followed.

Wabba also dismissed allegations that the workers vandalised the Kaduna State House of Assembly during their protest on Wednesday, adding that the state government sponsored thugs who vandalised the assembly after the protesting workers had left the complex.

The protest by workers to the Assembly, he explained, was in the full glare of journalists, adding that security agencies were also on hand to ensure law and order.

He accused the governor of making false claims in his quest to impose hardship on the people, especially workers.

“We assure all workers in the employment of the Kaduna State Government of our full resolve and commitment to continue to support them against any infringement on their rights as we will mobilise fully against any attempt to implement the intention to sack any worker without following due process,” the labour chief stated.

Meanwhile, the NUT President, while addressing journalists at the end of the National Executive Council meeting of the union in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, also said the union would mobilise teachers across the country against any attempt to sack the teachers based on “any illegal process.”

He said, “When last did Kaduna State Government organise any workshop, seminars for teachers in the state, when did the government organise training and retraining for teachers? We hereby advice Kaduna State Government to focus on organising the necessary training and retraining of teachers through the relevant training facilities to improve the quality of teachers..”

Olukoya said the union has issued a two-month ultimatum to states owing teachers salaries and pensions, threatening to shut down schools in the affected states by January 2018.

Speaking against the backdrop of granting autonomy to local governments in the country, he said the management and funding of primary education, including payment of teachers salaries, should be transferred to state governments if the autonomy is to be granted to the local governments.

Mambilla: FG, Chinese Consortium Sign $5.8bn Power Plant Agreement
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-11-2017, 09:25 AM - No Replies

The Federal Government and a consortium of three Chinese firms on Friday signed an agreement for the construction of the 3,050 megawatts Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Plant worth $5.79bn.

According to the government, the project which is being constructed in Taraba State is expected to be completed in six years.

Funding for the power plant will come from China and the Federal Government, as China Exim Bank and other Chinese lenders are expected to provide 85 per cent of the contract sum amounting to $4.92bn, while Nigeria will put forward 15 per cent amounting to $868.87m.

On the scope of work for the project, the government stated that it would include four large dams (Nya, Sumsum, Nghu and Api Weir), two underground power house of 12 units of 250MW each, two numbers of 330KV of 700km transmission lines to Markudi and Jalingo, 120km of access roads connecting the project site and nearby communities, as well as the resettlement of an estimated 100,000 impacted persons.

On August 30 this year, the Federal Executive Council approved the sum of $5,792,497,062 for the project which has been in the making for over 40 years.

The approval paved the way for the signing of the contract document with the China Gezhouba Group Corporation, Sinohydro Corporation Limited and the CGCOC Group Company Limited.

The government explained that the agreement would allow it to seek finance for its counterpart funding for the project.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, signed on behalf of the Federal Government, while for the Chinese companies, Yong Jun, Gan Yongzhi and Ye Shuijiv signed for the CGGC, Sinohydro and the CGCOC Group, respectively, at the event in Abuja.

Fashola said the project had opened a huge opportunity for the country to harness its hydroelectric potential for electricity and irrigation purposes, adding that when completed, the 3,050MW plant would change the dynamics in Nigeria’s power sector.

He said, “This project is a new dawn for Nigeria’s power diversity and energy mix. This project will give us the opportunity for energy security; it will give us the opportunity to comply with our Paris Climate Change Agreement because it will be delivering renewable energy.”

*RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (NOVEMBER PDF => http://bit.ly/2iK6qRp)*

*REVELATION KNOWLEDGE .*

Saturday, November 11th .
Pastor Chris

_*According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).*_

The English translation of the New Testament section of the Bible was derived from the Greek. The old Greek words are written differently from what you’d see in English, because the English language isn’t rich enough to express certain spiritual realities; it’s overly generic in nature.

For instance, the English language uses only one word to represent “love,” but in the Greek, about four different words are used. This helps to clarify what kind of love is being referred to. When you say for example, “I love my wife,” in the Greek, it’s a different word from when you say, “I love my country.” Then when you say, “I love football,” that’s another Greek word.

The same goes for the word, “knowledge”; there’re at least four different words translated “knowledge” in Greek. Our opening verse says, _*“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue”*_ (2 Peter 1:3). “Knowledge” here isn’t dealing with general knowledge or the knowledge of science (Greek: “Gnosis”) but with absolute knowledge that comes through revelation and relationship; the Greek word is “epignosis.”

2 Peter 1:2 says, _*“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”*_ This means, if you want to multiply grace and peace in your life, you’ve got to know more about God and Jesus Christ. You have to have the “epignosis” of God and of Jesus our Lord. “Epignosis” is the precise and accurate knowledge of God that you gain through revelation and meditation.

This type of knowledge isn’t just something you acquire from reading history books; it’s a revelation that’s granted you. A part of it is already given to you in the scriptures, while the rest of it is through your relationship with God, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit; all in consistency with the Word. Hallelujah!

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, I thank you for the enlightenment I receive from studying the Scriptures. Through consistent study and meditation on your Word, I increase in knowledge; grace and peace are multiplied in my life. I have dominion in every situation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

I Will Address Issues Of Lop-sided Appointments, Insecurity - Buhari
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 11:12 PM - No Replies

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja assured religious leaders, and all Nigerians, that his administration will address rising concerns of corruption, insecurity and injustices in various parts of the country.
President Buhari gave the assurance when he received a Christian delegation led by the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle and a Muslim delegation led by the Secretary General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, in separate meetings at the State House.
The President told the CAN delegation that he had already given instructions for the submission of all the names of heads of parastatals in order to address the allegations of lop-sidedness in appointments.
“On the question of one-sided appointments, we will look at it. I have given instructions that a list of all heads of parastatals be submitted to me and I know they will not delay in doing that,’’ he said.
President Buhari said his administration would ensure reform of the police and judiciary, describing both institutions as critical for the security and stability of the nation.
“There is no way we can be comfortable in our country unless we are lucky to have a good police force and judiciary.
“We need a good police force and judiciary to really maintain the legitimacy and the confidence of the populace in governance,’’ the President added.
On the fight against corruption, the President assured both CAN and the JNI leaders that his administration would always be guided by the rule of law and constitutionality in prosecuting all those that had been accused of corruption.
President Buhari explained to the JNI delegation that corruption in the country had taken a cultural dimension, urging all religious leaders and Nigerians to join in the fight in order to reverse the trend.
“When something becomes a culture, it is more difficult to stop, but collectively we will prevail,’’ he assured the leaders.
In his remarks, Rev. Ayokunle commended the President’s achievements in the fight against corruption, empowerment of the military to flush out Boko Haram terrorists and the recovery of some of the kidnapped Chibok girls.
The Secretary-General of JNI appealed to the President to pay more attention to the yearnings of Nigerians, urging him to continually walk in the fear of God.

American Journalist Arrested For Allegedly Insulting President Mugabe Gets Bail (Photo)

A Zimbabwean High Court judge has granted bail to American journalist Martha O’Donovan, who is facing charges of subversion and insulting President Robert Mugabe on social media. (For Previous Post, Read Here)

The judge in a ruling Thursday said the case lacked facts.

Martha O‘Donovan has been in prison since Saturday, a day after she was arrested on accusations of insulting Mugabe in a Twitter post.

Police later levelled the more serious charge of subversion, which carries a possible 20-year jail term.

She denies both charges. O‘Donovan works for Magamba TV, which describes itself as Zimbabwe’s leading producer of political satire.

In granting her bail, High Court Judge Clement Phiri said there was a “patent absence of facts” in the state’s case.

“The applicant has demonstrated that she should be granted bail. It is my finding that it is in the interests of justice that the applicant be given bail,” Phiri said.

O‘Donovan was not in court. Phiri ordered her to deposit $1,000 with the court, surrender her passport and report to the criminal investigations department twice a week as part of her bail conditions.

Her lawyer Obey Shava said O‘Donovan would be released on Friday after completing administrative procedures. Amnesty International said in a statement the case showed that Zimbabwean authorities had contempt for freedom of expression.

The state’s case centers on a Twitter post it says she wrote in October calling Mugabe a “selfish and sick man”. The government set up a Ministry of Cyber Security last month.

Hours after sharing a depressing post on Facebook, YabaTech graduate commits suicide
A fresh graduate of YabaTech, Oluwamuyiwa Oluwagbemileke Sir-muel has committed suicide hours after sharing a depressing and motivational post on Facebook.
Read his first post below…

When a man’s life is unstable, worried ,downcast and destabilized, things he does right before will become wrong no matter the best he put in. He lost focus and strength, he become unhappy and angry at everything even if he try to wear a smiling face. Thought of death will come in the scene. He keeps asking the question “why me”. He become helpless and even if he’s among people, he still feels lonely. Life can be truly unfair.
Advise: (Never let your ugly situations weigh you down). When you notice things are not going well, check yourself before it makes you feels worried. Sir_muel cares. Love you.”

Nicki Minaj’s brother found guilty of raping his 11-yr-old stepdaughter
[Image: jela-482x410.jpg]
Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, will now be looking forward to spending 25-years in jail after Jurors on Thursday the second day of deliberations, convicted him of predatory sexual assault after being charged with repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl at his Long Island home.
It was gathered that 38-year-old Jelani who will be sentenced on Dec. 14, was accused by the now 14-year-old girl of assaulting her sexually, at least 4 times a week and sometimes twice a day when he’s alone with her.
DNA evidence recovered from the girl’s pajama pants  by prosecutors was linked to Maraj, as the girl’s younger brother also testified at the trial that he witnessed one assault.

We hope that today’s verdict will help the family in the healing process and that it will close this terrible chapter in their lives,” District Attorney Madeline Singas said.

I have never in my life told a lie before’ – Lai Mohammed
[Image: lai-482x410.jpg]
Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture , Lai Mohammed, who spoke during  an interactive session with journalists in Lagos, slammed those presenting him as a liar and further asked them to dispute the facts he has always brought up right in their face.
According to the Minister, he has said that he has never told a lie before and the tag on him as a liar is orchestrated by PDP who he claimed is yet to forgive him.
I have two burdens. The first is that I happen to be the face of the opposition, and PDP has not forgiven me , and I do not think they will ever forgive me ”
“ I think they look at the magnitude of what has happened to them , and they hold me solely responsible ; which is not fair. But, I did my bit. Now becoming the face of government again , it is automatic to them that whatever comes from Lai Mohammed , we must shoot it down as fake news and a lie”
“ Incidentally, my father gave me the name Lai, also . So, it makes it very easy for them to make me a liar . But what I challenge them every time is , please , give me one thing I said that is not true . I have never told lies before .”
“ Emotionally, you may not agree with me , but in terms of facts and figures , I have never said anything that they can be disputed . You do not have to like it, but you cannot deny that they are facts” Lai Mohammed said.

I got to find out that most of the women in the church carrying pregnancy for 2yrs, some 3yrs, 5yrs because they don't have money to pay, so she will never deliver them. Out of the 700k, I beg to pay 500k. The pregnancy does not show in the test. This is a very big church, consists of igbo women from oka, onitsha and Aba, most of them husband, their husbands are rich; women do not go into labour by themselves, they will be the one to call you to come and deliver, no labour pains - Facebook User

The whole wide world must hear this:~
There is something important I want to confide in you about my daughter. Actually, I am not sure she is mine. I am not her mother. That is why I always tell you that I want to have my own children. I started taking care of her from Birth. She is not my husband's child too! My husband has sperm problem. It all started in 2012 due to the way he was always abusing me and beating me, cheating on me with different girls. I insisted on sperm count analysis and with pride, he told me he was going to prove me wrong and throw me out only to find out that his sperm was 1%. He went to Federal Hospital and they said it was 0%. Then my husband started threatening me that if I leave him, he will kill me. I could not cheat on him because it was against my believe. Before he discovered his problem, he used to treat me like a house help and a cheap prostitute, humiliates me in public.
A friend of my husband directed us to one church in Lagos owned by
Prophetess Ngozi at Nnadi Street off Ilewak Ikotu Egbe. The whole thing of fake pregnancy started there. Ben I am telling you because I trust you, my best confidante. I cannot tell anybody this, not even my mum. She will expose me. That prophetess is evil. The most evil igbo woman I have ever seen. Ready to do anything for money. I was never pregnant but the woman made me to believe that I am pregnant. The first time we got to her church, my husband and I were asked to go to the women lodge and sleep. There are two bedrooms where they camp women, they sleep on the floor with mats. Some of them are already pregnant and some are waiting for her to confirm them pregnant. I was asked to stay in the women room, collected a card and number to see the prophetess.
She placed me on 3 days prayers and fasting and asked me to pay 50k for oil. I paid! My husband went to lodge in a hotel because he could not bear the mosquito bites and sun flies. He went back home after the prayer and I was to stay until the woman confirms me pregnant. I stayed there for over a month, until she called her assistant Chioma to call me and ask me to pay N150k for me to be confirmed pregnant. I begged to pay N100k. In the church all payments are made one on one, no bank transaction, I paid and she said I can go and do thanksgiving that I am already pregnant; I was asked not to go to hospital that it is super Natural pregnancy that no Doctor will detect it; they gave me oil and one liquid they call blood of Jesus to be drinking and I paid 40k and I was ask to be paying consultation money of 5k every week till I deliver;as time goes on I started getting fat. In the seventh month they call me to come to Lagos for Thanksgiving; Thanksgiving money before the seventh month is 400k. After the thanksgiving, they ask me to pay 700k before my delivery if not I will never deliver; I got to find out that most of the women that are in the church carrying pregnancy for 2yrs, some 3yrs, 5yrs was because they don't have money to pay, so she will never deliver them. Out of the 700k, I beg to pay 500k. The pregnancy does not show in the test.
This is a very big church, consists of igbo women from oka, onitsha and Aba, most of them husband, their husbands are rich; women do not go into labour by themselves, they will be the one to call you to come and deliver, no labour pains, no bleeding, on delivery night they will ask you to come with more money, some 800k, some 600k, she does not care whether you have it or not. I spent one year carrying the pregnancy, the baby never turns or kicks. some women put clothes in their belly to convince people about their pregnancy, she gave some drugs to be getting fat like me, women breast does not lactate after delivery except they do something about it. Some other women like my friend also find out the child was not her own after everything. That is how I ended up with my only daughter. No labour pains at all. I was just told to push but nothing came out of my pussy. My breast milk didn't flow. When I find out, I could not tell my husband, the child was my only company, he was desperately ready to accept any girl pregnancy. He always take out his frustration on me, beat me with wooden mop, drag me on the floor even though he was the one with the problem..."

Actress Dayo Amusa comes for those body shaming her

Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, has replied those body shaming her. According to her, those calling her fat are only caught up in their own bitterness, frustration and depression.
Here’s what she wrote as she shared a new photo on Instagram;
Awwwww!
Did I hear someone body shame me? OH! That hurts you know [Image: 1f60f.svg] but the let’s try this.
You are so less busy hating on another based on your own bitterness because only a self-hated, bittered, frustrated and depressed person will find pleasure in badmouthing a fellow all in the name of giving #ADVICE I guess what you are dealing with personally is SELF HATRED.
HEAR IS MY ADVICE
Start to learn how to love your imperfect life perfectly (Coz I am 100% sure you have an imperfect hole in your life. Even Jesus / Mohammed SWT had theirs )
Know that we are all beautiful and unique in our own different ways (Challenge me by showing me 100% identical twins and I will shed to size 6 [Image: 1f604.svg]) and finally I want you to Understand that I have risen as a woman #WomenArise long time ago and I’ve grown to trend confidently in respect of my imperfections. The Abia State Police Command, has arrested 23-year-old Kingsley Eze, who reportedly sold his 5-months old son forN250,000 due to lack of money to raise and train him.
Eze who agreed with his girlfriend to sell the baby, was arrestedalongside another child trafficking suspect, Chinkata Chikezie, who reportedly sold his five-year-old son for an undisclosed amount.
Eze said, “I am a mechanic. I was arrested for child trafficking. The baby is mine; my fiancee gave birth to him. .
We decided to sell the baby because I wasn’t making enough money to take care of him and the mother.”
Chikezie’s arrest on the other hand, came after his wife reported to the police that she woke up on October 16, 2017, and discovered that her baby was missing and the door to their room was open.
Punch reports that Chikezie was handed over to the Police for questioning, by the villagers who apprehended him on his way back home.
Chikezie however confessed that he sold his son in connivance with one Kelechi John and Chikezie Ubabuike, who have also been arrested, with the child recovered too by the Police.

Mikel Obi opens up on how Chelsea carted him away from Manchester United, says ‘Roman Abramovich organised six cars to drive him to Chelsea’
[Image: obi-482x410.jpg]
Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain and Tianjin TEDA midfielder, John Mikel Obi who spent nine years at Stamford Bridge, made 374 appearances for Chelsea, winning two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, One Champions League trophy and one Europa League trophy, has opened up on fight between Manchester United and Chelsea to get his signature shortly after FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Finland in 2003.
Mikel Obi, who earned a month trial at Old Trafford before United struck a provisional deal with Norwegian outfit Lyn Oslo to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams, revealed that United offered him a staggering £1.5m contract but Chelsea’s involvement became a hindrance for the deal to be sealed as he made a stunning u-turn to Stamford bridge in 2006.

It was surreal,” admits Mikel. “I was at school, but had Chelsea and Manchester United — two of the world’s biggest clubs — trying to sign me. I’ll never forget that second meeting with Sir Alex. I’d signed a deal at United but had to tell him: ‘Sorry, I want to play for Chelsea’.
“He really liked me but I could see how angry and disappointed he was.
“Some things he told me made me think about changing my mind but I was thinking about Jose, too.
“I had these two great managers wanting me and I did not know what to do.
“Fergie told me: ‘Why would you turn down United? It’s the biggest club in the world. You cannot do that. You have to say Yes’.
“As a footballer, you have to make decisions that you live with for the rest of your life.”
“I trained with the first team,” he recalls. “Roy Keane was my bodyguard.
“Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt always tried to kick me but couldn’t when Roy was there because he’d have killed them.
“Sir Alex called me Obi Wan (after the Star Wars character).
“He called me into his office one day and said: ‘Obi Wan, do you know what Keane, Scholes and all the senior players have told me? They said you have to sign that boy’.
“I couldn’t believe it. Here was I, a schoolkid from Africa, training with some of the best in the world.”
He further revealed how football agents stormed his hotel room to get him to sign for their clubs;
I had agents promising me everything,” he recalls. “One approached me in the hotel with a briefcase full of cash.I can’t remember what club he claimed to represent — but I do remember the briefcase. It was crammed with $70,000 (£53,000) and he offered me that to sign some contract before adding: ‘Sign here and you’ll get a lot more’.
“I was tempted. I’d never seen so much money but I told the Nigerian FA secretary who was looking after me.
He told me to ignore this agent but promised I would join the best club. After the tournament I went home to my family and then saw the secretary again in Abuja.
“That’s when he told me: ‘You’re going to United. They want you and you’re leaving tomorrow’.
“My dad was so happy but mum was crying because I was moving abroad at such a young age.”
According to him, “Sir Alex really liked me,” says Mikel. “He made me feel really comfortable and encouraged me every day.
“He would call me into his office after training, point at the players’ plush cars in the car park and say: ‘If you work hard, next year you’ll be driving one of those. You are going to play for this club and you are going to be rich’.
“I didn’t know what to say. I was still at school so I didn’t even have an agent. I went home again and Sir Alex used to phone a hotel near our house when he wanted to speak to me.”
Mikel Obi further revealed in his interview with The Sun, that to return on his own but he waited for a call from then Manchester United coach, Alex Ferguson to confirm the trip but it never came. However his new agent, John Shittu, told him that Chelsea wanted to sign him. before he moved to Norway to train with Lyn Oslo who he signed a pro contract with.
According to him, after making a few appearances for Lyn Oslo, Fergie flew out for a meeting with him.

The whole thing was so confusing,” says Mikel. “I thought I had something with Chelsea but United told me they had been looking for me and then Sir Alex visited me.
“He said: ‘We want you, we don’t want to lose you again’.
“Before I knew it, a contract had been sent to Lyn Oslo. United were offering me £1.5m for three years. I spoke to my dad, who told me I should just go for it.”
“Chelsea saw it on TV and went crazy,” he says. “I later discovered they had an agreement with Lyn Oslo not to sell me to any other club.
“Then John flew to Oslo to speak to me. My friends were calling me and then I thought, maybe I had been manipulated.
“All this was very hard for me. I was so young.
“We flew to London. I remember thinking: ‘I’ve signed for United but now I’m flying to Chelsea!”
According to Mikel, the shady deal caused a year-long legal battle between the two English club, which after he was summoned to a meeting with then Premier League chief Sir Dave Richards.
He offered to help me,” recalls Mikel. “He told me it was making enemies between the two big clubs.
“I told him I wanted to play for Chelsea and he said he would help resolve it. Then I had a secret meeting with Mourinho at his house.
“Roman Abramovich organised six cars to get me there. It was like a military operation.
“I started in one car, then the drivers would talk to each other and suddenly I was dropped off and then picked up by another car.
“Once there, Jose told me: ‘The boss really wants you. I’ll play you and make you what you want to be’. That really helped as there were times when I thought: ‘Have I made the right decision?’.” Mikel added.

How to use three different vegetables, ugu, green and waterleaf in one soup
[Image: breakfast+ideas.+rice+with+moi+moi+veget...en+023.JPG]
amaranth ugu vegetable soup served with rice, moi moi and coated chicken

This meal is so nutritious, healthy, filling and interesting. It was very easy to cook because
the moi moi and crisp coated chicken were brought out of the freezer and microwaved, while I only boiled rice and made the vegetable stew.

Ingredients for the ugu and green aleho vegetable stew:

 • 1 small bunch Ugu

 • 1 small bunch green amarant (Aleho)

 • 1 bunch water leaf

 • 1 cup roughly ground crayfish

 • 1 teaspoon ground fresh pepper

 • 1 medium sized onion

 • 2 cups palm oil

 • 2 seasoning cubes

 • salt to taste

 • water
This delicious meal just happened because it wasn't what I planned to cook. Communication problems between James and I led to my cooking this. James was asked to go get me water leaf, my plan was to cookugu stew with the water leaf. Because he understands Hausa while I communicate in English, he went to the market and came back with green amaranth, I had no choice than to cook just amaranth and uguwithout water leaf.
However, The result made me thank Mr James for not understanding  English Language.

Everyone enjoyed this, and ate so well. At the end of the day, I didn't feel bad anymore. I was happy that the dish earned a lot of praises. I will advise you to include water leaf when you make yours though.

Cooking Procedure for ugu and green vegetable soup:

 1. Wash and parboil rice, then boil again with some salt until rice is cooked, set aside.

 2. Fry onion, pepper with seasoning, crayfish in hot oil before adding the washed vegetables, stir and leave for just a minute.

 3. Check for salt and seasoning, stir and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or more.

 4. Serve with boiled rice, moi moi and coated chicken

Ikoyi Money Whistle-Blower Yet To Be Paid - Lawyer Counters EFCC
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 05:10 PM - No Replies

A lawyer to the whistle-blower that helped in the recovery of $43.5 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million at No. 16 Osborne Road, Flat 7B Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos, has said his client is yet to be paid his due reward five months after a court ordered a final forfeiture of the money.
Reacting to a claim by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that his client is now a millionaire, the lawyer, Yakubu Galadima, told PREMIUM TIMES on Friday that several efforts to get the money have been unsuccessful.
“The truth is that this guy has not been paid a penny,” Mr. Galadima said.
“In fact, from April till date, the guy has been living under my meagre resources, his security was just zero. I’ve had to relocate this guy from one place to another so nobody knows his whereabouts.”
The Nigerian government in December 2016 adopted a policy on whistleblowing to encourage citizens to report financial and other related crimes to relevant authorities.
According to the policy, whistleblowers whose revelations lead to the recovery of money are entitled to as much as five percent of the recovered sum.
Since the introduction of the policy, the government has recovered about N17 billion, according to the EFCC.
Some of those monies had been recovered from LEGICO Plaza in Victoria Island, Lagos; the luxury apartment in Ikoyi; a building in Kaduna belonging to Andrew Yakubu, a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; among others.
Last June, the Nigerian government announced it had released about N375.8 million for payment of 20 whistleblowers who provided information for the recovery of over N11.6 billion.
On Wednesday, while speaking at the 7th session of the Conference of State Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, Ibrahim Magu, the EFCC acting chairman, said the individual who helped uncover the Ikoyi apartment money had become a millionaire.
“We are currently working on the young man because this is just a man who has not seen one million Naira of his own before.
“So he is under counseling on how to make use of the money and also the security implication. We don’t want anything bad to happen to him after taking delivery of his entitlement. He is a national pride.”
‘The true position’
Mr. Galadima said the EFCC boss’s “position is not correct.”
According to the lawyer, the Ikoyi whistle-blower accompanied by friends had approached him in early April this year to inform him about their suspicion of a huge amount of money stashed away in one of the apartments at the Osborne Towers.
“In fact, what came to their mind was to go and burgle the place since they know the security network of the house,” said Mr. Galadima.
“I was the one that advised them that, you don’t do that because that will amount to crime. That since there is a policy of the federal government, let us exploit that avenue.
“I took them, we went to the Commission, discussed with them, they said they were going to give the boy a form to fill and that if the story turns out to be false that the guy will go to jail. We said no problem, we undertook and we signed.
“The next day, we went to the house, all of us were all shivering thinking there was nothing inside. And then we started to discover all sorts of money in different denominations, pounds, dollars, naira. These monies were all recovered and taken to the Commission. It was counted. They brought a staff of CBN and he came and counted the money.”
In April, the EFCC headed to a federal court in Lagos seeking for the forfeiture of the money to the Nigerian government and, in June, Justice Muslim Hassan ordered a permanent forfeiture of the money to the government.
The judge had earlier granted an interim forfeiture giving 14 days for anyone interested in the funds to appear before it and show reason why the money should not be permanently forfeited to the federal government.
Nobody appeared before the court to claim the money.
“The moment the final forfeiture was made, I wrote a comprehensive letter to Magu, attaching the judgement, and said court has made a final forfeiture, where is the reward and commission of the whistleblowers?” Mr. Galadima continued.
“In fact, the letter was addressed to the Acting President then through the Office of the Acting Chairman since the money was recovered by the EFCC. That was the first letter.
“A month later, I wrote a reminder. It was after that reminder that they said we should bring the boy to Abuja. We took the boy to Abuja, he had one on one interface for the first time with the acting president. We went together with the acting chairman.
“The acting president congratulated him for a job well done and that with the money they’ll pay him, he’s now a millionaire. We all laughed.”
Mad whistle-blower
Mr. Galadima said while he was out of country on vacation, his client contacted him on the phone and told him about receiving threats to his life.
“The day we went to the office of the acting president, they gave him a number that he can reach them at any time. So he has been communicating with the acting president. Following the threats, they detailed some SSS to be working around him,” the lawyer said.
The whistle-blower was later taken to the SSS facility at Shangisha, Lagos, and given an apartment.
“Because the guy had always been looking forward to see(ing) this money and it wasn’t forthcoming, he started shouting. When he started shouting, they said he’s mad, that he’s having a mental problem.
“The SSS people called me and said I should come and carry my luggage. They brought him to the EFCC and abandoned him there. The EFCC people called me that I should come and carry my client.”
On getting to the Commission’s office, Mr. Galadima said he was informed of his client’s mental illness and plans to take him to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba.
“I said he’s not mad, that it’s because you people are holding his money that’s why he’s reacting this way. They insisted the guy is mad, that they have to take him to a psychiatric hospital, they bundled this man. I said ok, if that’s how to prove that he’s not mad, no problem, we went to the psychiatric hospital in Yaba.
“They injected him and said they have to monitor him for a month. They monitored him for a month. The day they were going to release him, the EFCC called me again to come and carry my “critical asset.” This was a boy I never knew from Adam….. I said ok, I went to the EFCC the guy said he’s ok there’s no problem anymore, they handed him over to me three weeks ago. Ever since then, I pay money into his account on a weekly basis for his upkeep.”
Phone calls and text messages to Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson, were not answered.
The phone lines of Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, did not go through.
On October 12, Mr. Galadima wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari seeking the prompt payment of the commission due to his client.
“I have written twice while you are away receiving treatment to the Acting President through the office of the Acting Chairman of the EFCC on 7th June 2017 and 24th July 2017 respectively,” Mr. Galadima stated in a copy of the letter he made available to PREMIUM TIMES.
“Please note that the discovery (of the money) was a result of my client’s efforts and consequently, I respectfully urge Your Excellency to use your good offices to facilitate the prompt payment of the reward/commission due to my clients.”
Mr. Galadima said that contrary to media reports that his client’s commission is N350 million, the correct figure is N850 million.
“Because the money discovered was about N17 billion and not N13 billion that is being declared. It was calculated as at the time the money was recovered.”

Lupita Nyong’o slams Grazia Magazine for photoshopping her hair
[Image: lupia-482x410.jpg]
Kenyan Movie Star, Lupita Nyong’o, who was graced the cover of Grazia Magazine, called them out for reportedly photoshopping her hair and giving her bald look.
According to Lupita who said she has embraced her heritage, she was not consulted before the Magazine ripped off her look.Here what she wrote;

As I have made clear so often in the past with every fiber of my being, I embrace my natural heritage and despite having grown up thinking light skin and straight, silky hair were the standards of beauty, I now know that my dark skin and kinky, coily hair are beautiful too. Being featured on the cover of a magazine fulfills me as it is an opportunity to show other dark, kinky-haired people, and particularly our children, that they are beautiful just the way they are. I am disappointed that @graziauk invited me to be on their cover and then edited out and smoothed my hair to fit their notion of what beautiful hair looks like. Had I been consulted, I would have explained that I cannot support or condone the omission of what is my native heritage with the intention that they appreciate that there is still a very long way to go to combat the unconscious prejudice against black women’s complexion, hair style and texture. #dtmh”

The actress who shared photos from the magazine photoshoot where she had her hair in a ponytail, was however slammed by non-fans who accused her of being ungrateful, reaching, claiming that the magazine did her a favour by photoshopping her hair because ‘the photoshopped look was better than her hair’.

Womb transplant could allow men to get pregnant, give birth to babies by CS, experts claim
[Image: pregnant.jpg]
Pregnant men won't be able to give birth naturally, ...by Cesarean Section. Well womb transplant has worked for women born without wombs; they successfully carried the pregnancies to term and birthed healthy babies. Experts are saying that the male system has enough room for a womb to be put in there to carry pregnancies. Read below...
Richard Paulson, president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, said eight children had already been born to women after transplants.
And he told a meeting in San Antonio, Texas: “There’s plenty of room to put a uterus in there. Men and women have the same blood vessels.”
He said the next step would to be trials involving transgender women to help them become natural mothers.
Such ops are not allowed in the UK.
But earlier this year, UK academics called for a debate on whether transgender women should be considered for NHS womb transplants.
Liverpool University medical ethics lawyer Dr Amel Alghrani said new technology now makes it possible for them to have children of their own. critics said transgender women may want to think of safer options first — such as using a surrogate. Julian Savulescu, professor of practical ethics at Oxford University, said the safety of the baby should be the priority.
He added: “It it is hard to justify from the perspective of using NHS health resources, or from the child’s own perspective.”
Docs hope to perform the first UK womb transplant in 2018.
In 2014 a Swede gave birth after receiving a uterus from a living donor.

THE Suspension of Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (Borno-APC) has been nullified.
A Federal High Court in Abuja, today, presided over by Justice Babatunde Quadri, nullified his suspension and ordered his reinstatement.
Bukola Saraki, president of the senate was ordered to ensure prompt payment of Ndume’s salaries and allowances while he was suspended.
Ndume had asked for investigation of allegations of importing a bullet proof range rover with fake documents involving Senate President Bukola Saraki and that of perjury involving Senator Dino Melaye.
The Senate reached the decision after the resolution to uphold the recommendation of the committee on ethics and privileges chaired by Samuel Anyanwu.
He was suspended for six months, instead of one year originally recommended by the ethics committee.
Mr. Anyanwu, whose committee convened investigative hearing on the two matters reported that Mr. Ndume failed to conduct proper investigation before making “the allegations”.

"Bianca Ojukwu Killed My Father" - Emeka Ojukwu Jnr
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 02:38 PM - No Replies

Anambra State politics has become a personalised game where the standard bearers are used as a weapon of war. And at the centre of it all is late Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who has become a kind of perennial victim. In Part 1 of an in depth interview with his first son Emeka Ojukwu Jnr, he spoke on how his father’s name and image have been abused.
Question: Former Anambra State Governor Mr. Peter Obi saw your late father as his political mentor and APGA (All Progressives Grand Alliance), as a political party, made Ikemba the leader. In the 2010 Governorship election, your late father raised Obi’s hand as his last wish that he should be elected for the second term. And this has caused controversy. Are you comfortable with this?
Emeka Ojukwu Jnr: I do not think it will be wrong for anybody to say that Mr. Obi’s emergence as a political force is directly linked to the backing he received from my late father. I know what you are referring to and I would not want to go into the issue of who raised whose hands because we all know he was ill at the time. The fact still remains that Obi was Ezeigbo’s choice for that election.
On whether I am comfortable or not, I am not. This is as a result, amongst other things, of statements being made by Bianca (Odumegwu Ojukwu) and others at Governor Willie Obiano’s campaigns.
Is that why you have chosen not to join Obiano in his campaign for the second tenure even when, according to my sources, he had severally invited and approached you to join him, and a lot of activities are ongoing during Ezeigbo’s (post-humous) birthday celebration?
It is one of the reasons. In the last three years, has Anambra State celebrated Ezeigbo’s birthday? Have they celebrated the anniversary of his death? Have any memorials been put up in his honour? Have any edifices or institution been named after him? Now on the eve of the election, it has become expedient to celebrate his birthday. To be honest with you, the stench of the hypocrisy has become nauseating. I was hitherto once an unwilling participant in this charade and I can no longer abide by it. You have a situation where my father’s memory was invoked to help usher him into office and once elected, all things Ezeigbo where promptly set aside. Billboards with his pictures were taken down, new party clothes and materials were printed without his image, while the incoming Governor was focused on creating his own identity. Now, three-and-a- half years later, Ezeigbo’s pictures are back in full effect in an attempt to use his image yet again for some people’s personal political ambitions.
Yes, I am aware of the invitations and I shall take my time in choosing to take a stand with the candidate of my choice. The truth is, I cannot go on a campaign with Obiano for one final reason, and that is because of some of the people he has chosen to associate himself with; people who speak from both sides of their mouth as long as it serves their own interests.
Who are these people or such people that you are talking about?
I know that you are aware of what Bianca has been saying and I do not want to associate myself with her. This is a woman who wants to create an impression that she loved Ezeigbo, but while Ezeigbo was sick she chose not to take care of him and rather pleased herself until she got tired of waiting for him to die. She had made many disparaging remarks about former Governor Peter Obi in an attempt to curry favour with Obiano, forgetting that when Ezeigbo was gravely ill, Obi, with the help of his friends, was able to get a private jet and took my father to England so that he could get the medical attention he received. She forgets also that it was Peter Obi and other well-meaning folks who were instrumental in persuading the then President Goodluck Jonathan to accord my father what was, in essence, a state funeral. I remain grateful for what he did for Ezeigbo and for the family. Keep in mind that regardless of whatever support my father might have given to him, it was not mandatory that he extend himself in that manner. After all his name is Obi and not Ojukwu.
What do you mean by she chose not to take care of Ezeigbo?
When Ezeigbo had a stroke, he was being “treated” at home. He was neither given a CT scan, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) nor subjected to any of the standard procedures applicable to a stroke victim. She insisted on having him treated in his bedroom by her doctor, against the wishes of the family for two weeks! At some point, family members were stopped at the gate from inquiring about Ezeigbo’s condition. On several occasions, I had to force myself in to see him. So all this grandstanding that Bianca is putting up is just to create a false impression about her relationship with my father and unsuspecting members of the public are buying into it.
But we understand that Bianca was with your father when he was flown to England and made efforts at taking him from Wellington Clinic to another hospital known as Lynden Hill Therapeutic Centre.
All the evidence is available and well documented. First of all, the air ambulance provided only had room for one family member and it was decided that she should go with him in the ambulance.
You are right. Certain changes were made in terms of treatment centres. Lynden Hill Clinic was the third place he was moved to. We were dismayed by the decision, because you have to understand that throughout his treatment, he required 24-hour nursing care, and that particular centre was ill-equipped to handle a patient in his condition, even with 24-hour nursing. That was why he was transferred, yet again, to the Royal Berkshire when his health, predictably, deteriorated. Several members of my father's immediate and extended family, including myself, made a concerted effort to have him moved to a neurological rehabilitation centre, where he would receive the sort of treatment he needed. But again, Bianca blocked our efforts, and on the 25th of November, 2011, a date I will never forget, without reference to the family, she had him discharged from the Royal Berkshire and transferred to yet another ill-equipped nursing home, this time in London, where he died a few hours later.
Coming back to politics, for a minute, I remember that she was allied with the former Governor while he had problems with (Victor) Umeh, the former National Chairman of APGA. And now she is on the side of Umeh against Obi?
Your question itself speaks volumes. Perhaps, this seeming flip-flop is due to the expediency of the moment. What I can tell you, again, is that it seems that at a point, it became expedient to her, for Ezeigbo’s treatment to be discontinued. As far as I am concerned, I know a man must die sooner or later. But in the case of my father, but for her actions, he would not have died that day. In fact, his remains were not immediately released to us until an investigation was conducted, because the circumstances of his death were deemed worthy of further investigation. We were told that because he had been ill for so long, a specific cause of death could not be ascertained and the result of the investigation was therefore inconclusive.
But as far as we are concerned, she is directly responsible for Ezeigbo’s death. I wish to say that out so that my father’s spirit will allow me to rest. And that is why I have refused to show up, in any event, to do with Obaino’s re-election campaign in which she features prominently. I do not want to be associated with a person whose hands are soiled with blood.
Going by your statements, would you subscribe to supporting APGA in this election?
A political party is like a vehicle and the essence of joining a vehicle is to get to your destination. If the driver is not going to your destination, or if you are not comfortable with the passengers, then it’s either you have no business in that vehicle or you work hard to effect a change in leadership and attract the new members and or disenchanted people who left.
When Peter Obi left APGA, I spoke up against his move publicly. However, having said that, I was not in the meetings and discussions that led to his leaving the party. So in retrospect, I have to admit that you must walk in a man’s shoes before you know where it pinches him. So my support for APGA is not automatic. It depends on what APGA stands for. If it turns out that the party has been hijacked by some people due to personal interests and their ideals are not in tandem with those of my father and the original direction set for the party and change cannot be effected, then perhaps it is time to look elsewhere.
Do you think that Ojukwu’s image even in death would better the fortunes of APGA presently?
Most people who are using his image these days did not know Ezeigbo. Obiano did not know Ezeigbo personally. As I said before and I say it again, there comes a time when the stench of hypocrisy around the use or rather the misuse of his name and image becomes nauseating. The notion that Ezeigbo is the property of APGA is wrong. Ezeigbo is not and was never the property of APGA. He saw himself rather as the property of Ndigbo in particular and Nigerians in general. Ezeigbo did not fight the war for APGA. He fought the war for Ndigbo and for Nigeria.
You will recall that when Ezeigbo came back from exile, he did not join the Nigerian Peoples Party (NPP), which was popular in the Southeast at the time. Rather he joined the National Party of Nigeria (NPN). This was because his underlying goal had always been to bring Ndigbo into the centre. So, APGA is a means to an end, not an end in itself.
Back to the 2010 campaign, your father at a time endorsed Emeka Etiaba instead of Peter Obi. Can you speak on that?
What happened was that Emeka Etiaba and his group reached out to Bianca and had an agreement with her which made her support them. Obi reached out to me about what happened and he sent me with his convoy to my father. When I got there, Bianca was upstairs and I asked Ezeigbo why he had abandoned me and he asked me what I meant by that.
I told him that he asked me to go and work with Peter Obi as his eyes and ears and without reference to what he told me, he endorsed Emeka Etiaba. I knelt down at his feet and said why did you abandon me. He asked me to get up and I did and he asked, “where are my shoes?”, and Col. Emma Nwobosi helped us find them. We got up and left with the convoy provided by Peter Obi. We were at Dubem Obaze’s office and had a press conference where Ezeigbo endorsed Peter Obi for the second tenure. This was one of the reasons among others that I started having problems with Bianca.
It appears that you had a running battle with Bianca from when Ezeigbo was alive to his death and even during the funeral?
Actually, she and I had a good relationship earlier which later deteriorated and then severed to a point of no repair after the circumstances of my father’s death. At the funeral, Bianca did not want me to bury my father. She claimed to be the chief mourner; a claim which I rejected outrightly and it took the intervention of elders, especially Prof. A. B.C. Nwosu, former Minister for Health, who stood by me saying that such a thing will be an abomination in Igboland, and she had to accept her role as the griever, while I buried my father as the first son.
Even when my mother, Njideka Odumegwu-Ojukwu died, Bianca insisted that she will not be buried in my father’s compound and asked Ezeigbo to get a place outside our compound to bury my mother, but my father and I refused. Again the same elders intervened and that was why I built a guest house and buried my mother in front of it next to the main house.
Shortly after your father died, issues of your family property became a problem and Bianca is presently in court with the Ojukwu family.
When you hear about Bianca being in court over our property, people do not know the story. The property in question belongs to my grandfather, not my father. Ojukwu Transport Limited (OTL) belonged to my grandfather.
Sir Odumegwu, my grandfather, has a surviving wife, Lady Virginia and she is therefore still alive. He had children, Joseph, the elder one; Emeka, my father; and Lotanna, the youngest. Joseph, my father and Lotanna all have children. I am in my 50s and some of these grandchildren of Sir Odumegwu are older than me. So for Bianca to show up to lay claim to certain choice property in Ikoyi as having been handed over to her and her young children by Ezeigbo is ridiculous and I wonder how that could be possible, given that Sir Odumegwu left all the property in question under OTL. OTL has a Board of Directors. My father was a director before he died and I am now a director. Being a director of OTL does not constitute having ownership of OTL property. A man cannot bequeath what he does not own.
It is being alleged that every time, Bianca pushes forward one Robert Okonkwo, either to take a position you have recently vacated such as when you resigned as Commissioner, or one you are aspiring to. What is the nature of Bianca’s relationship with Mr. Okonkwo?
I resigned from Peter Obi’s government for my own reasons. In the case of Robert Okonkwo, who is a cousin to the Ojukwu family, Bianca has always wanted to bring him up at all times and that explains why he came into Peter Obi’s government after I left. Bianca and Robert are in a better position to explain the exact nature of their relationship. Certainly though, if he is still living in the house she shared with my father, then she can only blame herself for all the rumours.
But why is it that you do not see the wives of late Obafemi Awolowo or late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and their likes get involved in such political controversies, but Bianca appears to be different?
I am not them and I am not her. But I can hazard a guess and say that in the other cases, the people involved understood the significance of their husband’s legacy and the need to protect it, rather than to try to assume the role of their late husbands. Even as his son, I am always careful and understand that the love and respect shown to me by many is as a result of the love and respect they have for my late father, not because of anything I did. And I am therefore always careful not to cross that line and assume that I am him.
My late father served his people and his country well and made an indelible mark in the world evidenced by the outpouring of love shown by all during his funeral. It is time to allow Ezeigbo to rest.
To be concluded

Oil Prices Plunge On Surprise Rise In US Oil Inventories
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 09:15 AM - No Replies

The U.S. crude oil production rose to the highest in more than three decades last week, according to the data from the Energy Information Administration.
U.S. crude inventories surged by 2.24 million barrels in the week ending November 3. This is higher than the 2.24 million decline projected by most experts.
While oil has climbed about 20 percent since September on signs the OPEC and non-OPEC will extend production cuts past the first quarter of 2018, the surge in US stockpiles remains a threat to OPEC strategy.
“Higher prices are a definite factor in bringing production back on — this is a problem for OPEC,” said Michael McCarthy, a chief strategist at CMC Markets in Sydney. “The first response comes from the most agile producers, but once it looks like oil prices could be sustained at higher levels, then even less agile producers can come back online.”
Brent crude oil plunged from $64.27 a barrel reached on November 6 to $63.70 after the report. While the US West Texas Intermediate crude dropped to $56.95 a barrel from $57.37.
Some experts believe the price rally that pushed the Brent crude up by more than 40 percent since July may have run its course. Indicating traders are expecting the surge in US oil production to offset recent gains.
“So this (rally) will prove quite short-lived and we’ll see the price back into $50-$55 a barrel over the next year or two.” U.S. crude stockpiles C-STK-T-EIA rose 2.2 million barrels in the week to Nov. 3, to 457.14 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.

He said that although 32,000 applicants to the university scored 200 marks and above in this year’s Unified Tertiary matriculation examination (UTME), Unilag would not admit beyond 8,000.
Bello said that the university insisted that an applicant must also score at least 40 per cent in Unilag’s post-UTME before consideration for admission.
“We know what goes on in our public examinations. That is why we insist on candidates undertaking our post UTME and scoring at least 40 per cent,’’ he said.

BBOG resumes daily protest to Aso Villa on Tuesday

Adelani Adepegba, Abuja
The BringBackOurGirls coalition has said it will resume its daily protest march to the Presidential Villa, Abuja from Tuesday.
The movement said that nothing had been heard from the Federal Government since 82 of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram were released in May, 2017.
The BBOG spokesman, Sesugh Akume, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, said it was now over 1,305 days since the abduction of the 113 girls that were still in custody of the insurgency group.
He explained that none of the commitments made by the government had been fulfilled, noting that President Muhammadu Buhari recently in his Independence Day broadcast on October 1 promised to ensure the release of the remaining girls, but this, the BBOG said, had not been done.
The group stated that it had on several occasions put on hold its march expecting to see the outcome of the commitments made by the government.
It added that it had yet to see evidence of any outcomes.
“Our movement therefore resumes daily marches to the State House, in order to refocus attention on the plight of our #ChibokGirls and all the incidences of abductions, killings, and general insecurity as well as the abysmally poor handling of the situations; to demand their immediate return,” the statement said. http://googleweblight.com/i?u=http://pun.../&hl=en-NG

Politicians steal $50b yearly from Africa, Obasanjo alleges
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 09:03 AM - No Replies

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that over $50 billion is being stolen and smuggled from Africa to other countries yearly by political leaders and businessmen as well as other key players in both public and private sectors.
Obasanjo, who spoke yesterday at the maiden yearly anti-fraud conference, organised in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Lagos Chapter, lamented that the smuggling of the huge funds meant for socio-economic growth and development of the African continent is now giving African leaders, past and present, great concern.

The former President, who was named Grand Patron of ACFE, Lagos Chapter, “because of his efforts against fraud and corruption in Nigeria,” noted that the nation and other African countries might not develop if leaders and followers do not show concern about the ugly trend.
He, therefore, called for concerted efforts towards curbing the trend. He also charged financial professionals and all members of the association and everyone generally to help in curbing the trend not only in Nigeria but Africa as a whole.
President and Chief Executive Officer, ACFE, Godwin Oyedokun, said: “It is really a delight to host Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Your acceptance of our invitation is an indication that you have the love of this nation at heart.” https://googleweblight.com/i?u=http://gu.../&hl=en-NG

NASS probes death of 26 Nigerians at sea

May summon Foreign Affairs minister
From Fred Itua and Ndubuisi Orji , Abuja
The National Assembly has launched a probe of circumstances leading to the deaths of 26 Nigerian women on the Mediterranean Sea, en route Italy.
Strong indications have also emerged that the Senate may summon Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama. In a motion, tagged: “The death of 26 young Nigerian girls on route Italy,” and sponsored by Senator Rose Oko, Senate mandated its committees on Diaspora, Foreign Affairs and Special Duties to investigate the unfortunate incident and report back to the Senate within four weeks.
Across the aisle, the House of Representatives has mandated its committees on Foreign Affairs and Human Rights to liaise with the Libyan Embassy to unravel the cause of the deaths.
The House’s enquiry was sequel to a motion on the death of the 26 migrants moved by the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila under matters of urgent national importance at yesterday’s plenary.
The deceased were said to be between the ages of 14 and 18. They were found dead while attempting to cross from Libya to Europe. The bodies of the 26 female Nigerian migrants were found by Spanish warship Cantabria, who brought the bodies to Salerno, Italy, after they were purportedly sexually abused and murdered.
Italian prosecutors have began an investigation into the death of the teenage Nigerian girls.
The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has also said it is monitoring developments and will take a position soon.
During the investigation, the joint Senate committee is expected to invite Onyeama and other federal agencies.
In the motion, Oko told her colleagues that the mass exodus of our young boys and girls illegally attempting to go to Europe especially to Italy and Spain has become worrisome.
She noted that the journeys are through the perilous and hazardous Sahara desert and the Mediterranean Sea.
“Most of these young persons have under gone several hazards ranging from the searing heat and biting cold of the Sahara desert, the marauding Tuareg bandits, assaults, abuse and rape; and the dangerous sea waves often on rickety rubber boats,” she said.
She further claimed in her motion that as at May, 2017, it was reported that about 10, 000 Nigerians had perished along the Sahara desert, Libya and the Mediterranean Sea route.
In the House, Gbajabiamila noted that since the incident, nothing has been heard about the other 34 passengers or their identities or the actual cause of the death of the Nigerian nationals.
Gbajabiamila added: “From my understanding, they were going from Libya to Italy. We were meant to understand that there were about 60 persons (in the ship). No one knows the cause of death. The committees on Foreign Affairs and Human Rights should liaise with the Libyan Embassy, so that we can know what happened.” http://googleweblight.com/i?u=http://sun.../&hl=en-NG

ANAMBRA GUBER : OBIANO SHOULD ACCOUNT FOR N70BN LG ALLOCATION -NWOYE
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 08:45 AM - No Replies

By Chinelo Obogo
The Tony Nwoye Campaign Organisation has berated the Willie Obiano administration for the deceit in its claim that it had distributed N20 million to 177 communities for development projects.
It noted that the total amount of money allegedly distributed is a little fraction of the more than N70 billion total allocations to the councils in the state.
In a statement issued by the campaign team, Nwoye said: “It is a thing of joy for us that the Willie Obiano administration after much pressure to show what it did in the last three and half years came out to say that it donated N20 million projects to 177 communities in the state. We had been waiting for the government to make this mistake as it would confirm to Anambarians the deceit that we have been saying is the hallmark of this administration.
“After collecting an estimated N70 billion in local government statutory allocations and donating N3.6 billion to the communities, the question Ndi Anambra now want the governor to answer is where is the balance of the estimated N66.4 billion? Fact is that the 20 million naira per community for project of their choice is nothing but a deliberate act of deceit to steal funds accruable to our local communities from the federation account.
“Fraud is when you collect a total of 6,647,448,978 billion naira from the federation account for Idemili North LGA and give 20 million naira each to Abatete, Abacha, Obosi, Ogidi, Eziowelle, Ideani, Oraukwu, Uke, Nkpor and Umoji totaling 200 million naira to ten towns to do projects of their choice. Where is the balance?
“In Idemili North alone the Willie Obiano’s administration’s biggest achievement for three and half years is that it has taken over N4 billion belonging to the people. On the 18th of November, Idemili people will definitely say no to the illegal diversion of their share of the federal revenue allocation into private pockets.
“Fraud is when you collect N5, 789,580,449 billion for Ihiala LGA and donate N20 million each to Azia, Amorka, Ihiala, Iseke, Lilu, Mbosi, Okija, Orsumoghu and Uli. On the 18th of November Ihiala people will talk with their votes and ask Willie Obiano to account for over N4 billion of their funds which have disappeared into the air under his watch.
“Fraud is when you collect N4, 327,571,060 billion from the Revenue account for Nnewi North and magnanimously gave Nnewi Town a whole sum of 20 million to execute a project of their choice. On the 18th of November Obiano will definitely understand the ingenuity of an average Nnewi man. They will ask questions with their votes.”
In a related development, Nwoye has welcomed the endorsement of his aspiration by the Nimo Community in Njikoka Local government Area of the state promising to provide the environment to harness their potentials in commerce and industry.
Political and business stakeholders from the community had earlier this week at a gathering in the residence of Justice Anthony Iguh, a retired jurist of the Supreme Court endorsed Dr. Nwoye’s aspiration on the claim that he is the best qualified of the major candidates to represent the interest of the community and the state.
Among those at the gathering were the President General of Nimo Community, Chief Frankanthony Igboka (Mmilinaezuluora Nimo), Chief Matthew Omeokachie (1st Vice-President of Nimo Town Union), Chief George Ibezimako Ozodinobi, FMHR (Aja-Ajanze Nimo); Dr. Nicholas Igwe (Omeluora Nimo), Nduka Aguofia Esq (Ojidembuba Nimo), Chief Emma Ndubuisi (Keduifemgaemeluobodom Nimo) Ozor Paul Ezenwa (Akpokuedike Nimo) Chief Fide Nwabunie (Omeluora) Tony Aniedobe (Immediate past Onitsha North LG Legislative Leader), Sir. Toby Okwuoya (Afunwa).
Also present were defectors from APGA including chieftains of the party who welcomed Dr. Nwoye and his running mate, Dozie Ikefife Jnr to the community. Speaking on the endorsement, Nwoye said: “It is a pleasure to add the support of the Nimo people to the groundswell of support for a new direction in the pattern of government in Anambra State. The hardworking Nimo people like many other communities in Anambra have been seriously affected by the dilapidation of infrastructure and the absence of positive governance that have been the highlights of the Willie Obiano administration.
“Not only has the present administration abandoned them in terms of recognising their qualified persons into positions in government, the Obiano administration has also neglected the community in the provision of infrastructure despite holding on the allocation of the local government from the federation account.
“The Nwoye administration will not release the pittance of N20 million to the Nimo people but would ensure that the community in conjunction with all stakeholders in Njikoka take full custody of the allocations due to them from the federation account and the state account.
“The Njikoka people are known for their passion in commerce and industry, and the Nwoye administration when inaugurated would provide the suitable environment that would enable the people to positively direct their energies that would bring out their potentials.”
UPP candidate storms Enugu Sports Club, unveils development blueprint
From Chidi Nnadi, Enugu
The governorship candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Mr Osita Chidoka, on Tuesday night stormed the Enugu Sports Club with some of his supporters to seek support from members of the club.
Chidoka is the second candidate in the Anambra election after the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Tony Nwoye, who has taken his campaign to the club.
The former Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) boss told the club members that his state has not experienced real development due to poor leadership. He lamented that the Anambra economy was driven by burial ceremonies, which he pointed out usually starts every Thursday and ends on Sunday, saying that the development has denied the state concrete economic plans that would have enabled the state to compete with others.
He, therefore, presented his economic blueprint to the club members, which he said would impact on the development of the state, adding that if voted into power, he would provide new strategies that would ensure visionary, transparent and community government that would be driven by the Anambra people, as well as make the state compete with other economies of the world.
He said: “Our state capital, Awka is still a village. We still celebrate three flyovers; but come to Awka as capital; you still feel the absence of water, absence of security, plethora of bad roads and several others that will make one wonder if Anambra is a state.
We are coming with a new thinking.
“We will transform Anambra into a trade hub; we will grow the commerce the state is known for. Our ability to handle matters with Anambra State is the beginning of the independence that the Igbo man is looking for. Our strategy is to play in the digital economy such that we will connect our markets to the digital world called ‘Anambra wifi’. Our schools will go digital so that our students will compete favourably with their peers in the world”.
On his part, the Chairman of the Enugu Sports Club, Mr Ben Etiaba, thanked Chidoka and his entourage for coming again, saying that the UPP candidate’s visit to the club came during their inauguration. He said that the club has many powerful opinion leaders across the South-East, including Anambra State, adding that the coming of Chidoka would definitely enhance his electoral fortunes in the forthcoming polls in his state.
We’re not planning to rig election with soldiers, police –APC
From Romanus Ugwu, Abuja
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed speculations that the ruling party is planning to rig the November 18 Anambra State governorship election with the deployment of soldiers and other security and paramilitary agents.
National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who refuted the claims, also confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari will be physically present during the campaign grand finale in Awka next week.
The ruling party’s spokesperson told newsmen during a press conference in Abuja yesterday that: “We believe strongly that the speculation that APC was deploring soldiers to rig Anambra election is just a mere rumour. There is no evidence to prove that and if anybody tells you that the party is planning to deploy Civil Defence, police, soldiers or whatever to do anything in Anambra, tell the person to provide the evidence.
“We are planning to win the election fair and square and if you are following the campaign going on, you will know the impact our candidate is making. The incumbent will naturally be jittery and when a candidate is jittery the first thing he does is to turn around and accuse the ruling party of planning to rig or whatever.
“We are not going to rig the election. We have won elections since we came to power as a national party and as a ruling party. We have equally lost elections. We lost the election in Osun and if we have soldiers and police to mobilise why didn’t we do it then? We have lost couple of House of Representatives elections and couple of Senate elections.”
“So, the speculation that we are planning to rig the election does not hold water. Unless they have credible evidence that this is what we are planning to do but to make this kind of allegation is not what we should dwell on so much,” he said.
Anambra West leaders promise victory for Obiano
By Chukwudi Nweje
Frontline chieftains of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and stakeholders in Anambra West council have vowed to ensure a resounding victory for Governor Willie Obiano to enable him concretise his development initiatives in the area.
This is as Obiano promised to fast track the construction of interior link roads connecting the council to the newly completed bridge across the Ezichi River.
The request, among others was presented to the governor during the inauguration of his reelection campaign rally at the Umueze Anam Secondary School field.
The governor who also promised to construct a bridge on the Innoma – Igbedon road leading to Olumbanasaa communities, explained that the road projects would enhance evacuation of farm produce from the agrarian communities. The people of the area, who trooped out to receive him, assured him of a one hundred percent of their votes on November 18.
The leader of the council including Chief Charles Egwuoba (Ezekwesili) listed the ongoing road projects to include Mmiata-Umelum; Oroma Etiti-Onono-Umudora; Umuokwu-Onono; Mmiata-Nzam and a hanging bridge connecting Innoma to Odekpe and others. He disclosed that the Ezichi bridge by the Obiano administration connects the area directly to the Orient Petroleum facilities. The project, he noted, had in the past been rejected and discouraged by a former administration.
Majority Leader of the state Assembly, Victor Jideofor Okoye, Special Assistant to the Governor on Markets, Sunday Nwassah and Chief Michael Nwakwuzie who is the President General of Iyiora Anam also promised to mobilise electorate to ensure a resounding victory for Obiano.
“We are happy to have Governor Obiano from the North senatorial zone of the state. This made most of us shelve our individual aspirations in his support and we are not disappointed at all,” Okoye said.
Despite the sharp fall in revenue receipts, he has been doing very well with a security summit, followed by an economic summit where experts spoke on alternative means to harness our resources to achieve more with less,” Okoye said.
Nwassah stated that with the sure security, economic and social foundations laid down by the governor, it would be proper for all electorate to give him their votes for a second term to consolidate.

Ogoni clean-up: MOSOP gives FG deadline

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni, People, MOSOP, has given the Federal Government till December 2017 to commence the clean-up of Ogoniland in Rivers State.
MOSOP said failure to do so, the Nigerian Government should “be ready to face the anger of the people.”
The leading Ogoni group decried FG’s continued delay in starting the exercise after it was flagged off a year ago,
Secretary of the Ogoni Martyrs Day Planning Committee, Bari-ara Kpalap, addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital during a briefing to mark the 21st Memorial Anniversary of Ogoni sons killed during the struggle for the development of the Ogoni people, warned that the “lives of the Ogoni people would be endangered should the Federal Government continue to foot drag on the exercise.”
He explained that the oil spills in the area had affected the soil and the people’s source of water.
He added, “Our expectations have not been met because since June 2, 2016 to date, we cannot point to anything concrete that the Federal Government has done.
“The flag- off was done in June 2016 and they did another groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the integrated contaminated soil management. As we speak, construction or clean-up of the area is in comatose.”

Don’t rely on your certificate alone to succeed in life – Osinbajo to Nigerian youths
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 08:26 AM - No Replies

Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has charged Nigerian youths never to rely on their academic certificate alone to survive.
Osinbajo made the appeal on Thursday at the 10th convocation ceremony of the Lead City University, Ibadan where 590 students were awarded first degree certificates.
The vice president who was the special guest at the ceremony, said, “I was 60 years old in March this year, and I must confess that one of the greatest surprises I ever experienced was that I just suddenly became 60. I can clearly remember when I graduated from the university. I was 21 years old at the time. How time flies.
“One of the important lessons that you will learn is that time flies whether you are wasting it or you are using it well. It simply flies back. At the age of 60 years, I am entitled to give some advice.
“By talent, a good degree and coming from a very well to do family does not bring success and certainly it does not bring greatness. The most talented people, those who get the best degrees do not necessarily become the most successful in life.
“The difference between success and failure, mediocrity or excellence is character. Along with character is opportunity, perhaps the most crucial is the place of God.”

Anti-open grazing bill: Ortom denies chasing Fulani herdsmen away from Benue 

Benue State governor has faulted the claims in some quarters that the recently-implemented law banning open grazing was aimed at chasing herders from Benue State.
Ortom said contrary to the claims by the opposition, his government did not at any point ask herders to vacate the state.
He said, rather, the law asked all cattle rearers to ranch their animals.
He made this clarification in a statement issued by his Special Adviser of Media and ICT, Tavaz Argezua.
His statement reads:
We have read reports in several national dailies and other media platforms credited to officials of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore claiming that Fulani herdsmen were being driven from Benue State.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
It can be recalled that a law to prohibit open grazing and establishment of ranches came into effect in the state on Ist November, 2017.
Governor Samuel Ortom had signed the bill into law on 22nd May, 2017 but allowed a grace period of close to six months to give time to herdsmen and owners of livestock to acquire land for ranches.
Instead of encouraging herdsmen to commence the process, officials of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore threatened through media statements to mobilize its members to resist the law and even invade the state to wreck havoc on farming communities.
The association also went to court to challenge the legitimacy of the law and the matter is still in court.
The law itself was enacted to put an end to incessant clashes between herders and farmers resulting in massive destruction of lives and property across the state over the years.
Its objective is to bring lasting peace between the two groups in accordance with internationally accepted best practices.
For herders the law also provides stiff penalties against cattle rustling including imprisonment for three years and payment of N100, 000 per animal or both.
In case the rustler maims, injures or kills the penalty which is much higher includes culpable homicide punishable under the provisions of the penal court.
Before and after the law came into effect the state government has neither issued any quit notice to any individual or ethnic group nor driven such out of the state.

Peace Corps wins N2bn human rights suit against police, others, gets N12.5 million
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 08:20 AM - No Replies

The Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) on Thursday won its N2bn Human Rights Suit instituted against the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, the Nigerian Police Force and 4 others.
This was even as the presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Gabriel Kolawole also gave an order that the National Headquarters of the Corps located at No 57 Iya Abubakar Crescent, off Alex Ekwueme way, opposite Jabi Lake, Jabi, Abuja, be unsealed forthwith while asking Police to release other properties of the Corps within 7 days.
The National Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria, Amb ( Dr. ) Dickson Akoh and 49 other officers of the Corps who were arrested on February 28th, 2017, had approached the court, through their Lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi ( SAN ), seeking redress over their unlawful arrest, detention and brutality.
In the raid of February 28th, some officers of the Corps were allegedly brutalised, leading to admission of about 6 officers at National Assembly, lying unconscious.
In the originating summon supported with 49-paragraph affidavit, the PCN annexed coloured photographs of its officers who were lying at the pools of their own blood with broken heads, as well as certified copies of medical bill receipt from the National Hospital, Abuja, as evidences.
Akoh and other officers were also detained till 2nd of March 2017 and was thereafter rearrested and detained for 11 days.
Narrating his ordeal shortly after his release, Akoh lamented how the young nursing mothers amongst the officers were denied access to their babies for 3 days and were kept in detention without food or water to bathe with.
Irked by the seemingly inhuman treatment, Chief Agabi approached the court on behalf of the Corps, demanding for N2bn damages as claims against the violation of the fundamental human rights of Peace Corps officers.
In a landslide judgment delivered Thursday, Justice Kolawole said it was proper for the law enforcement agencies to carry out their statutory duties, but it was illegal for such duties to be carried out in a way that would infringe on the rights of citizens.
He said the Respondents could not provide any evidence to support their claims that the activities of the Peace Corps of Nigeria was a threat to national security and that the warrant of arrest and detention claimed to have been obtained by the Police ought to have been displayed before effecting the arrest.
The Judge also said the reports of the panel set up by the Nigerian Police in 2008 and 2010 and the investigation carried out by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in 2014 clearly stated that the activities of the Peace Corps of Nigeria were legal.
Justice Kolawole mentioned 11 judgements delivered at various federal high court in favour of PCN which were not appealed against by the Police.
He said the Respondents failed to convince the court that the 90-count charge filed against the first and second applicants before Justice John Tsoho had nothing to do with the instant suit.
He wondered why the Police should seal off the premises of the Corps when there were substantiate judgements of the Court that the officers of the Corps should not be obstructed from carrying out their lawful duties.
The Judge therefore ruled that the Nigerian Police and the Inspector-General of Police should pay the sum of N12.5m as damages to the Peace Corps officers.
“The country is just coming out of recession now and with the understanding that the federal government does not have money, I therefore award the sum of N12.5m against the 1st and 2nd Respondents, being the real antagonists of the Applicants”, the Judge said.
He also frowned at the inability of the Attorney General of the Federation to advise the Police on the various court rulings standing against the agency.
In the judgement that lasted for over one hour, Justice Kolawole also made a definite order, restraining the 1st and 2nd respondents from prohibiting the applicants from carrying out their lawful duties.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 10TH NOVEMBER.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ A HIGHER LIFE IN CHRIST✨

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life (1 John 5:11-12).

There’s a higher life in Christ; a life that’s higher and greater than the ordinary human life, sickness, disease, failure, and death. That’s the life we’ve received in Christ. In John 10:10 (AMPC), Jesus said, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

God’s purpose is for you to walk in the supernatural every day. That’s the Christian life; it’s walking in the glory of God; reigning and exercising dominion over circumstances: “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ)” (Romans 5:17). This is God’s dream for His children.

The reason many live as ordinary men, instead of living the transcendent life in Christ is their ignorance of the Word: “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness…” (Psalm 82:5). Imagine an eagle that grows up amongst chickens, and never learned to fly. It’ll live the life of chickens, yet it’s an eagle, with powerful wings to fly.

That’s the way some Christians are; they don’t know they have power over sickness, power over crises, power over the devil, and circumstances of life. Therefore, they live as victims. The Bible says you’re seated together with Christ far above all principalities and power (Ephesians 1:21 and Ephesians 2:6). Satan isn’t a factor. You’re superior to him and his demons.

Now that you’re born again, you’re born into a life of glory and excellence. Become conscious of who you are in Christ. It’s not possible for you to fail or be defeated in life, for the Greater One lives in you: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). This is the higher life in Christ.

PRAYER
My life is replete with the goodness of God, and the manifestations of the glories of the Kingdom. I’m alive to God—spirit, soul, and body. Therefore, sickness and disease have no place in my body, because the Spirit of God lives in me, and He rids my system of everything inconsistent with the divine life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: Job 22:29 When [men] are cast down, then thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. 21 Don't lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, 22 for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.

1 Timothy 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

I affirm that this my season of exaltation! I've been raised in rank, in character, and in status. I am seated together with Christ in the place of authority, a place that is far removed from the operations and debilitating systems of this world. I dwell each day in safety because my address is Christ. All things are working together for my good. Even now, ministering spirits are unleashed to work for my advantage because I am an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ. All things are mine! I am well positioned, therefore, everywhere I turn, the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a goodly heritage. God has put in me the inherent ability to recreate my world and make my life the epitome of His grace. I am an extension of God to my world. He who has seen me has seen the Father!   Ikoyigate: Whistleblower Rewarded, Turns Millionaire
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-10-2017, 05:23 AM - No Replies

THE whistleblower who blew the whistle of the recovered $43 million stashed at flat 7b of Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos is now a millionaire.
Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission reportedly stated this in Vienna, Austria, on Thursday, spokesman of the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement.
He said the whistleblower has been officially compensated.
Earlier in April, operatives of the anti-graft agency broke into a four-bedroom apartment on Osborne Towers, and pulled out $43 million, £27,800 and N23 million stashed in a wardrobe.
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the money to the Federal Government on June.
Uwujaren quoted Magu as saying that the whistle blower was already a millionaire by virtue of the percentage he was officially entitled to.
“We are currently working on the young man because this is just a man who has not seen one million Naira of his own before.
“So, he is under counseling on how to make good use of the money and also the security implication.
“We don’t want anything bad to happen to him after taking delivery of his entitlement. He is a national pride”, he said.
The EFCC boss called on Nigerians who want a positive change in the country to take advantage of the whistle blowing policy announced by the government early this year.
He noted that aside from contributing to the eradication of corruption, potential whistle blowers also stood to “benefit from the illicit acquisition by the looters”.
“So, we encourage more whistle blowers to come forward with genuine information that will lead to recoveries from looters of public treasuries.
“That is part of the ways we can put an end to the looting madness in the public sector.
“When they know that they have no place to keep the loot, as all eyes are on them, they will find looting of public treasuries unattractive, ” Magu reportedly said.

  Cigarettes Sales Banned In Vatican
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-09-2017, 11:39 PM - No Replies

Pope Francis has outlawed the sale of cigarettes at the Vatican in a bid to lead by example on healthy living. “The Holy Father has decided that the Vatican will cease to sell cigarettes to employees as of 2018,” the Vatican said in a statement on Thursday.
“The reason is very simple: the Holy See cannot contribute to an activity that clearly damages the health of people,” i t said, adding that smoking claims more than seven million lives every year, according to the World Health Organization.
“Although the cigarettes sold to employees and pensioners in the Vatican at a reduced price are a source of revenue for the Holy See, no profit can be legitimate if it puts lives at risk,” it added. Francis, who has only one lung, does not smoke. He has let the locals keep their other guilty pleasure, tax-free alcohol.
The cigarettes and booze are sold in a luxury duty-free shop, opened in 2003 in what was once the Vatican’s magnificent railway station but is now home to everything from designer handbags and shoes to flat-screen televisions.
Only those with a pass — Vatican employees or pensioners — can shop there, and many pick up goods, food and even fuel inside the city for Italian friends on the other side of the tiny state’s imposing walls.

Ganja Havens: Six Nigerian States With High Concentration Of Cannabis Plantation
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-09-2017, 09:02 PM - No Replies

It is known by several names, including marijuana, ganja, Indian hemp, and weed. In Nigeria, it is called Igbo, gbana, kaya, and wee wee in the local parlance. Long regarded for its medical benefits, Cannabis has been abused and used for recreation around the world for a long time. Nigeria has witnessed its own explosion of cannabis abuse in recent times, with young people smoking its green leaves to get high or as the Americans call it; stoned!
In Nigeria, the use of Cannabis is illegal. However, despite its medical and cosmetological benefits, Cannabis remains a menace in the country due to its abundance and tendency to get its users high and addicted. According to the Encyclopedia Wikipedia, Nigeria is the eight largest consumer of Cannabis. The plant is widely grown in the following states:
Ekiti
Widely known as the largest producer of weed in Nigeria prior to 2015, the National Drug Law Enforce Agency (NDLEA) says its sustained crackdown has significantly reduced the quantity of cannabis produced in the state. Nevertheless, 246 tonnes of cannabis were discovered and destroyed in Ekiti in August, 2017
Ondo
The sunshine state is arguably the largest producer of weed in the country. The Benin Ore road has a large concentration of hemp farms, with many bursts by the NDLEA recorded there. On September 25, 2017, media sources reported that the Nigerian army had intercepted and arrested 2 men who were moving cannabis from Ondo state to Lagos at the Owena checkpoint. On October 23, a media report by the Daily Times indicated that the passion for Cannabis farming in the state was leading to deforestation as weed plantation covered over 5,000 hectares of arable land in Ala forest, Akure North Local government. With the discovery of what is arguably the largest cannabis plantation in the world, Ondo State takes over from Ekiti as the largest producer.
Oyo
This Southwestern state is also one of the largest producers of weed. As the NDLEA ramps up its fight against marijuana abuse, Oyo has suddenly fallen under its searchlight. In February 2017, channels TV reported that the NDLEA confiscated over 1,000 kilograms of fresh cannabis seed meant for 2017 planting season in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, while conducting a stop and search. On June 16, 2017, men of the NDLEA discovered 24 hectares of cannabis plantation found at the Gambari forest reserve in Ibadan.
Edo
Like its neighbour to the west, Edo state has a large concentration of cannabis farms. Many of these are located around the border along the Ore-Benin road. In April 2017, the Punch reported that 60 males and 13 females had been apprehended in Edo State with 10,094.75kgs of cannabis between January and March 2016. In August 2017, the NDLEA destroyed over 37 hectares of cannabis plantation worth about 1.7billion naira in Owan East, Owan West, Uhunmwonde and Ovia North-East Local Government areas of the state.
Osun
From discussions among youths on online forums and in hang outs, it is easy to conclude that Osun State produces the highest quality of weed. This is because of the frequent reference to the effect of the so-called ‘Oshogbo weed’, made popular by memes on forums such as Nairaland and Nigeria Adult forum. Like its mother state, Osun produces a great deal of cannabis as reports have shown. As the NDLEA steps up its fight against Cannabis farming, the agency discovered and destroyed 16 hectares of cannabis farm in the state on Oct 4, 2017.
Delta State
Like its neighbour, Edo, Delta State produces a large amount of cannabis. Although, still largely hidden from the authorities, the thriving marijuana sales market in Delta state is one of the largest in the country and there are areas in the state known specifically for the cultivation of the crop. Although, reports of drug bursts are not rampant like in Ondo and Ekiti states, there have been a couple of cases in the last 3 years. In June 2016, the NDLEA destroyed over 100 hectares of cannabis farm in Ndokwa west area of the state.

Atiku has taken over Adamawa PDP, member writes Makarfi
punchng.com
A former Special Assistant to Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Umar Ardo, has called for the cancellation of the results of last Saturday ward congresses in Adamawa State. He accused Atiku of hijacking the party in the state.
Atiku, a former member of the PDP, defected to the All Progressives Congress before the 2015 general elections.
Ardo spoke with journalists on Tuesday after submitting a petition to the Adamawa State PDP Congress Appeal Panel at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
He said, “No election took place in Toungo, Ganye Mayo Belwa, Demsa, Numan, Shelleng, Yola North, Yola South, Mubi South, Michika and Madagali local government areas. “The Caretaker Committee members representing these LGAs simply sat in their rooms and drew up their list and submitted their names as elected executive members and they were admitted.
“It’s an open secret that the members of the committee connived and simply sat down and distributed the party offices among themselves.”
On the specific roles played by Atiku in the congresses, Ardo said the former Vice-President “was involved directly. He called me to say that I should make sure certain persons get these positions. I disagreed. He has hijacked the PDP in the state.”
He observed that Atiku’s return to the PDP had its disadvantages, saying, “There are also three disadvantages. We learnt that Atiku is coming back to the party with an ambition; an ambition to contest for the Presidency.
“Now that will be a source of conflict because there are others in the party who are also interested and they are nursing this ambition. There will be conflict among party members.
“Secondly, the deep pocket that Atiku has will not only serve that ambition; it will also deepen the conflict. The third disadvantage is that those foot soldiers will also serve the ambition and in the process deepen the conflict.”
But in his reaction, Atiku insisted that he had no hands in the problems of the PDP in his state, adding that he had left the PDP.
The former vice-president spoke through his media aide, Mr. Paul Ibe.
“It is ludicrous to accuse a man who is not a member of a party of having hijacked the party structure. Whoever is making this allegation has to look elsewhere for their failings,” Ibe said.

Ethiopian Airline Lands Latest Boeing 787-9 In Abuja With 177 Passengers

Ethiopian Airlines, on Tuesday, landed its newest acquired airline, Boeing 787-9 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja with about 177 passengers on board from Adis Ababa, Ethiopia to celebrate the arrival of the new aircraft
The plane, which is tagged the Big Brother to Abuja, landed around 11:45am with 27 passengers on board the business class while over 150 passengers were in the economic class.
The new aircraft was welcomed by the officers of the Airport Fire Service with the usual flight shower to mark the arrival of new aircraft to the airport.
The 787 Dreamliner is the most innovative and efficient airplane family flying today. Since 2011, more than 600 Dreamliners have entered commercial services, flying almost 200 million people on more than 560 unique routes around the world, saving an estimated 19 billion pounds of fuel.
Speaking about the newly acquired B787-9, the Traffic and Sales Manager of Ethiopia Airline, Firiehiwot Mekonnen said purchasing “the plane is part of the company’s commitment to deliver exceptional level of service to the African market by operating the latest technologically advanced aircraft in the market.
“Passengers have enjoyed the unique onboard features of this latest technology aircraft such as on-board comfort thanks to their unique features such as the biggest windows in the sky, high ceiling, less noise, distinctive lighting, and higher air humidity.”
Also, the Pilot of the plane, Michael Yilma said the aircraft was the most economical in terms of fuel consumption and noise and noted that the passengers had enjoyed the unique onboard features of the latest technology aircraft such as on-board comfort.
Yilma said that he was one of the first pilots to be trained on the aircraft, explaining that Ethiopian airline was the second to acquire the B787-9 after Japan.
According to him, “I am one the first pilots of this aircraft in the world because Ethiopia is the second to acquire it after Japan. And because I have been flying Boeing for five years now, I can say that this aircraft is the best so far. What makes it different from other aircraft is its noise level and it is very economical and the quality of the air in the cabin is superb.
“It is also more comfortable for passengers because the noise level is minimal and the quality of air they breathe in the cabin is also perfect.”
Recall that Ethiopian Airlines has always services Abuja with its newest Aircraft. It brought the Dreamliner B787 to Abuja in 2012 and Reopened the Abuja Airport this year with the A350 when the Airport was reopened after 6 weeks closure.
Ethiopian Airlines has been operating into Nigeria since 1960 and currently flies to 5 cities in Nigeria. It was the only international Airline that flew to Kaduna Airport when Abuja Airport was shut down for repairs. Ethiopian becomes the first carrier in Africa to operate the 787-9 and extends a tradition of setting aviation milestones. Ethiopian became Africa’s first carrier to fly the 787-8 in 2012, and similarly introduced the 777-200LR (Longer Range), 777-300ER (Extended Range) and 777 Freighter.

Remember how it felt when Babangida detained you and be humane by releasing El-Zakzaky, Falana urges Buhari

BUDGET INSERTIONS: Falana supports Osinbajo, wants NASS dragged to Supreme Court
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari in a letter, urging him to “be humane by ordering the release” of Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, also known as Shiites, and the cleric’s wife, Zainab, from custody.
The detainees have been in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS) since December 2015 following a clash between El-Zakzaky’s followers and Nigerian soldiers in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Falana’s November 7 letter is his second such letter to the Presidency demanding the release of the detainees following an earlier one dated June 2, 2017 addressed to then Acting President Yemi Osinbajo during Buhari’s medical vacation in London.
Falana reminded Buhari that the continued detention of the couple was in violation of the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered on December 2, 2016.
He pleaded with the president to consider the detainees’ deteriorating health and immediately order their release.
Falana noted that Buhari, having been illegally detained in the past by former Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.), and also recently battled a serious illness, was in a position to appreciate the couple’s “agony” in custody.
He called on the Federal Government to be humane and refrain from subjecting citizens to inhuman treatment.
Meanwhile, Falana who is counsel to El-Zakzaky Wednesday withdrew the petition against the Nigerian Army at the Presidential Investigation Panel on Human Right Violations.
The rights lawyer said stated that although it was painful, he had to withdraw the petition in view of the fact that there was already a judicial commission of inquiry currently handling the case.
He however noted that the panel could on its own decide to listen to any witness in the case, while urging it to keep the petition in view.
Falana also urged the panel to order the federal government to comply with the ruling of the Federal High Court that ordered the release of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky from detention.
He criticized the federal government for not obeying the ruling of the Federal High Court, adding that since Nigeria’s independence, he had never seen a couple detained together, adding that the couple should be released based on the rule of law.
He lamented his inability to get the petition to a place of final resolution.
“We are already taking other steps to ensure that El-Zakzaky is released, because this is the first time in the history of this country that a couple will be detained,” he said.
Akinseye George, counsel to the Nigerian Army, said that the matter should be removed from the panel’s list, adding that the panel was magnanimous enough to accommodate the petition by shifting dates and time for the petitioner.
He said that the panel should disregard the petitioner’s plea that the petition be kept in view, stressing that the petition ended with the withdrawal.
Justice Biobele George, chairman of the panel, struck out the petition based on voluntary withdrawal by the petitioner.
The Presidential Investigation Panel to Review Compliance of the Armed Forces with Human Rights Obligations and Rules of Engagement sittings ended on November 8.
The panel had travelled round the six geo-political zones to receive petitions and listen to petitioners’ allegations of human rights violation by the military.

- Massive Hunt down Ongoing
- Enforcement beyond Lagos traffic law - motorist
The Lagos State Government have began a massive hunt down of Okada riders across the state. The crackdown which began on monday was directed by the state governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode. The State Governor, had directed that the Police and other security agencies concerned redouble efforts to ensure the Law is complied with, assuring that the clampdown will be sustained vigorously on a daily basis.
However, motorist has complained that the crackdown is way beyond what was stipulated in the Lagos Traffic law that banned Okada. They claimed the law only barred okada services on major state road and not inner road and streets as it is been currently enforced.
They claimed Okada riders that ply inner streets and lanes that are inaccessible to commercial vehicles are also being arrested, thereby forcing untold hardship on Lagosians whose house are far from the major roads.

Obiano Declares November 17 Public Holiday Over Anambra Election

In what has been described as a campaign gimmick, the Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, has declared November 17, 2017, as public holiday.
This, according to him, is to enable civil servants in the state to relocate to their electoral wards to be able to participate in the governorship election coming up on November 18.
Governor Obiano made the announcement during his address to civil servants at the 2017 African Public Service Day.
The event took place at the state capital, Awka.
Obiano also announced the payment of their leave allowance on the 15th of November.
Speaking about the contributory pension, he dismisses the insinuation that his administration has mandated all workers under the state to enroll.
He stated that his government has set up a committee to examine the programme and make recommendations.
He, however, appealed to them to make sure they not only cast their votes but also to protect their votes as his victory will determine the sustenance of the incentives they enjoy.
Reacting to this, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Anambra State Chapter described his action as the desperation of a drowning man.
Speaking through the State Publicity Secretary, Okelo Madukaife, APC said:“Our party, resting on its foundation of liberty and free enterprise undiluted democracy calls on the out-going governor o Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano to tender an unreserved apology to the concerned traders.”
Madukaife further stated: “It is our suggestion that the financial commitment involved should be borne by APGA to serve as a deterrent to those who may dream off taking Anambra State now and in future.”

'Lop-sided Appointments Responsible For Disunity In Nigeria' - Sultan Of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto has blamed injustice in appointments and allocation of resources as the causes of crisis and disunity in the nation, PoliticsNGR has learned.
Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar, who is also the President General of the supreme council for Islamic affairs made this statement on Wednesday at a collaborative interfaith peace and security capacity building workshop organized by the Nigerian army resource centre, NARC in Abuja.
The sultan who was represented by the Executive secretary of the Abuja National mosque said that an all-inclusive government remains the solution to the myriads of problems facing the country.
"When it comes to issue of dispensation of justice and equitable distribution of resources, that should be done without fear or favour, affection or ill will.
You are not there yourself as a leader and because you have some encounters with a group of people, either a person or a group of persons in a particular area, you should not hold on to it so as not to extend justice to them.
Allah says “do not allow your hatred of a particular group of people to make you decide not to extend justice to them. Whatever happens, you must extend the spirit of justice to them all without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.
“This issue of justice goes down to whatever decision you are going to take, whether it’s against you or against your parents or against your own children or against your other relations, let alone saying you will not extend justice because you know somebody or because he is from your town. Justice must be based on fair and equitable distribution of assets to all."

Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has reacted to a premium times report that President Muhammadu Buhari is still avoiding his Aso-rock office 81 days after returning from a medical vacation abroad.
It was widely reported on Thursday that President Muhammadu Buhari was still working in his home office almost 3 months after his main office in Aso-rock was shut down from 'Renovations'.
The report alleged that the reason for the president's avoidance of the office was due to spiritual issues. However, Ahmad via a post on Facebook this afternoon debunked the report. He wrote;
"For Your Information: President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over an Armed Forces Council Meeting in this particular office you’re talking about."

As FG, Labour Begin Negotiations On New Minimum Wage
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-09-2017, 02:26 PM - No Replies

Stories By micheal oche, Abuja
After several months of delay and foot dragging, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige last Thursday disclosed that he had cleared nominations into the committee that would come up with a new minimum wage for workers with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The news is coming at a time, workers are increasing becoming agitated with what they feel is government deliberate ploy to delay the passage of a new minimum wage.
It would be recalled that following the decision of the federal government to remove fuel subsidy last year and increase pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N87 to N145, the organised labour under the NLC and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), negotiated among other palliatives, N56,000 as the new national minimum wage.
Ngige after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting said, “I have cleared the appointments with the President today (Thursday) and as soon as the labour people come back from the Labour Governing Board meeting in Geneva, we will take a consensus date with the governors because it is a tripartite committee involving federal, states and the private sector: NECA, MAN, NACCIMA, SMEs.
“The NLC, TUC and their affiliates have done their nominations. What we are now trying to fine-tune is the date for inauguration.”
President Muhammadu Buhari early this year was reported to have given a go-ahead order for a 29-man committee of the government and organised labour to negotiate a new national minimum wage for workers. Ngige was quoted to have assured in March this year that the government and labour unions met to finalise the report of an earlier constituted technical committee.
According to him, the next stage was to constitute the minimum wage review committee which will work with the report of the technical committee.
However after several months of delay, the federal government t and organized labour are now ready to commence negotiation on the much debated minimum wage following the approval given by President Buhari on nomination from government side. It is now a matter of when.
The workers had in various fora expressed frustration that despite the mouthed plans by the Federal Government to ease their suffering occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal, nothing seems to be moving and no concrete action has been taken to address the dire situation.
Prior to the 2009 minimum wage increment demand, in February 2009, leaders of Congress recalled that the demand for upward review of workers’ wage in modern day started in 1945, noting that between 1945 when workers staged the famous 45 days general strike for a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) and 2007, when the demand won by workers for a 25% general wage through the Ernest Shonekan Wage Consolidation Committee was arbitrarily cut down to 15% by Obasanjo, workers had struggled at 15 times to have wages improved and a national minimum wage legislated upon.
In March 2011, a couple of days to the April 2011 general elections, President Goodluck Jonathan signed the new Minimum Wage Act into law. The law saw an increase of the national minimum wage from N7, 500 to N18, 000.
That was perhaps one of the most memorable moments for workers under that jonathan administration, which was also bedeviled with various strike action and the famous anti-subsidy protest in 2012.
However, the road to that signing was not easy. The workers’ long journey to the N18,000 minimum wage, which the Senate passed into law on Tuesday, February 22, started long before the late President Musa Yar’Adua, on July 14, 2009, through the then Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, inaugurated a tripartite Presidential Committee on National Minimum Wage, headed by Chief Justice Alfa Modibbo Belgore.
Interestingly, six years after that last Minimum wage Act was signed into law, labour and government are back to a familiar turf.
It would be recalled that before government and labor arrived at the N18, 000 in 2011, the NLC had in December 2008, after a report of an internal committee it set up look to work out appropriate minimum wage, publicly demanded for N52,200 minimum wage for workers.
However, the question now is, how much labour and government will agree on as a new wage. It would be recalled that since the last agreed minimum wage in 2011, state governors have been kicking against it and have on several occasions threatened to retrench workers if government will not review the revenue sharing formula to enable state and local government to earn more.
In November 2015, chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State while addressing the press after their meeting said that the N18,000 national minimum wage promulgated into law in 2011 was no longer sustainable because of the fall in the price of crude oil. The governor also claimed that the nation-al minimum wage was ‘imposed’
The NLC, TUC are demanding N56,000 as the new national minimum wage at a time most state governors are struggling to pay their workers the current N18, 000 are owe a backlog of salaries and pension arrears.

Fayemi to Seek Buhari’s Permission to Contest Ekiti Guber Election
thisdaylive.com
Minister of Mines and Steel Developments, Dr Kayode Fayemi plans to seek President Muhammadu Buhari’s permission to contest the Ekiti State governorship election billed for July 14, 2018.
An associate of the minister who confided in our correspondent said that the minister planned to take another shot at the Ekiti State Government House which he lost to Ayo Fayose in 2014.
Going by the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, campaign for the Ekiti governorship election will open on April 15, 2018.
To join the race, Fayemi will have to resign from his ministerial job.
The All Progressives Congress under which Fayemi will run already has a long list of aspirants hoping to emerge as the party’s flag-bearer for the election.
Among them are former governor of the state, Chief Segun Oni, Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Mr Babafemi Ojudu, a former commissioner for information in Lagos, Opeyemi Bamidele, a former member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Faparusi, a retired permanent secretary, Chief Sesan Fatoba, and an Australian based medical doctor, Dr Wole Oluyede.
Others are: Mr kola Alabi, Bimbo Daramola, Mr Ranti Debo Ajayi, Funminiyi Afuye, Mr Muyiwa Coker, Senator Gbenga Aluko, Kayode Ojo, Dr Bayo Orire, Dr Folorunso Akinyele, Prince Kayode Olofinniyi, Mr Diran Adesua, Sunday Adebomi, Dr Makanjuola Owolabi, Mr Folorunso Akinyele and Dr Olu Oluleye.
The incumbent governor, Fayose is also working hard to make sure that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party retains the state.
To the consternation of other aspirants in his party, however, Fayose is positioning his deputy, Kolapo Olusola, to succeed him.
Many observers see the Ekiti State governorship election as an acid test for both the APC and the PDP and expect both parties to do their best to win the state.

President Buhari Still Avoiding Aso Rock Office: 81 Days After
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-09-2017, 02:22 PM - No Replies

About 81 days since his return from medical vacation in the UK, President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to use his office in the Aso Rock Villa, multiple sources have told PREMIUM TIMES.
Mr. Buhari left Nigeria for another around of medical care in the United Kingdom on May 7 and returned on August 19.
The president, however, did not resume at his desk on Monday, August 21 as he commenced official assignments from an auxiliary office attached to his residence.
His failure to resume at the office generated curiosity among Nigerians, with some expressing the fear that Mr. Buhari had not recuperated enough to resume work.
The presidency later issued a statement explaining that Mr. Buhari was staying away from the office due to ongoing repair works.
“The regular office needs some renovation because the 103 days of absence” caused “some deterioration” presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, explained at the time.
Another of Mr. Buhari’s media aides, Garba Shehu, later blamed the damages on rodents, an excuse Nigerians largely found amusing.
“Following the three months period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units,” Mr. Shehu had said.
STILL AWAY
However, 81 days after the president resumed work, Villa staff and visitors to the seat of power said he was still operating from outside of his official seat.
This is despite him taking full control of the day to day running of government, including hosting visitors and holding meetings at the Villa.
Mr. Buhari, Aso Rock insiders say, is now using annex offices at other locations within the expansive premises, including one attached to his house.
Another office used by the president is the one adjoining the Banquet Hall in the State House.
On October 30, the president received Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Banquet Hall office.
SPIRITUAL REASONS
Mr. Buhari’s absence from his office is said to be connected to his tortuous health challenges.
Insiders say spiritualists who worked on the president’s condition advised against his use of the office.
“You know the man was actually bewitched. All these rumours about this or that illness are just guess works. No one was sure, not even the doctors,” said a close aide of Mr. Buhari who preferred anonymity.
“The trip to London in May was unscheduled and all the checks done, including in Germany, revealed nothing. We had to resort to prayers,” he said.
The source said Mr. Buhari’s office and other parts of the villa are “undergoing spiritual cleansing to avert any recurrence in the future”.
PRESIDENCY REACTS
When contacted, Mr. Shehu said the president is at liberty to work from any office or location within the villa.
Asked about the state of repairs of the president’s office as announced by the presidency in August, Mr. Shehu declined further comments.
While the presidential aide is right that Mr. Buhari can choose to work from any office within the villa, Nigerians may continue to wonder when their president will return to his main office.

Senate Summons Fashola, Probes $650m Fraud In Ministry Of Power
User Avatar Forum: Politics

summons Fashola
The Senate, yesterday, mandated its Committees on Power and Public Accounts to investigate the whereabouts of the $650 million balance of the Eurobond that was meant to be with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
It also mandated the committee to invite the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, to render a detailed account in terms of public funds spent on the Afam Fast Power Project.
The apex legislative chamber urged the committee to investigate and consider summoning the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and the Nigerian Electricity Bulk Trading Company (NBET) so as to be able to establish the status of the funds.
These resolutions were made by the Red Chamber sequel to a motion brought to the floor of the Chamber by Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi), entitled “Monumental Fraud in the Power Sector”.
While presenting his motion, Melaye noted that sometime in July 2013, the Federal Government raised a total sum of $1 billion through a Eurobond issue.
He said: “The sum of $350 million was taken by the Federal Government out of the proceeds of the July 2013 Eurobond issue and released to Nigeria Electricity Bulk Trading Company (NBET) Plc. as shareholder contribution to shore up its capitalization.”
He said that the sum of $350 million released to NBET was to demonstrate NBET’s preparedness to assume its role as a government backed electricity bulk trader to provide market confidence in the privatised electricity market.
“As confidence building measure, the $350 million was domiciled with the NSIA for reinvestment in low risk investment and structured in a manner that NBET can call for funds at short notice when required,” Melaye said.
He said the fund had been with NSlA since 2014 and had helped build market confidence, especially among new investors in the electricity market who saw NBET’s positive balance sheet as a form of security that their investments were safe.
He said there was now a desperate attempt by the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing to retrieve the fund and divert same to fund the so-called Afam Fast Power Projects.
“The ministry has already spent $35 million of public funds not appropriated by the National Assembly,” Melaye alleged.
In his remarks, the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, mandated the joint Committee of the Public Accounts and Power to carry out the investigation, asking the former to lead the probe.Senate probes alleged $650m fraud in Power Minister.

Magu: EFCC Recovers N738b In Two Years
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 11-09-2017, 02:18 PM - No Replies

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, yesterday said the agency recovered over N738.9 billion (equivalent to over $2.9 billion) in two years.
He said the cash included $43 million recovered from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke.
The figures are in a 10-page paper Magu delivered at the ongoing 7th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption holding in Vienna, Austria.
The paper, titled “International Cooperation in Relation to Tecnical Assistance: The Nigerian Experience”, gave a detailed account of efforts by the Commission at tracing and recovering all stolen treasures from the country’s coffers.
The statement said: “Magu who was a panelist at the Implementation Review Group attended by over 100 delegates, detailed the Nigerian efforts in asset recovery, including the progress made in the specific cases related to Abacha loot, Malabu Oil, Diezani & Associates and the arms procurement scandal. These efforts, he said cut across Switzerland, USA, UK, UAE, Jersey Island and Panama.
“The EFCC monetary recovery from May 2015 to October 20, 2017 was in excess of N738.9 billion, which is equivalent to over $2.9 billion. This does not include recovery in other currencies like Durham, CRA and British Pound.
“The EFCC has also made a lot of recovery locally. Within this year alone, the Commission recovered stolen assets running into several millions of US dollars and billions in naira. This includes the $43 million recovered from Deziani Allison-Madueke, Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources and the N2 billion spread in seven accounts within three Nigerian banks laundered from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command Salary Accounts.”
According to the records of recovery as published by The Nation within the two-year period; the list includes the recovery of $9.2 million owned by a former Group Managing Director of the NNPC Andrew Yakubu.
N3 billion recovered from INEC officials as part of the 2015 election bribery probe.
The N328,988,296,990.62 from oil firms.
The whistle-blower policy, has led to the recovery of N521,815,000, $53,272,747, £122,890, and €547,730 by the EFCC.
Also, N1.420billion was recovered from some firms and a consultant who benefited from the N19billion illegally deducted from London-Paris club loan refunds by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
About N500million from a Northern governor through a mortgage firm.
Also, a company, which assisted another governor to launder $3million London-Paris Club refunds, returned $500,000 to the EFCC.
EFCC recovered N220million from two companies which were involved in the London-Paris Club consultancy scandal.
Forfeiture of $43.4million recovered from the Osborne Towers in Ikoyi.
Following whistle-blowing, the EFCC recovered about of $136,676,600.51 from a fictitious account of a person suspected to be a public officer.
Also, two other persons voluntarily refunded $15million, N7billion and N1billion after some whistle-blowers exposed the huge deposits in their accounts.
Magu said the recovery was possible for EFCC because it employed “ the mechanism of the non-conviction based forfeiture provided under Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act”.
He made some recommendations on how to recover stolen public funds.
He sought for improved coordination and cooperation among State parties through the consideration and adoption of measures that will remove traditional ‘barriers, such as bank secrecy consistent with Article 46( and dual criminality Article 46(9) as well as simplified legal technicalities in the recovery and repatriation of stolen funds.
The EFCC boss in his paper also asked for measures to “reduce cost of recovery of assets for developing countries and ensure speedy return of all stolen assets to victim states in line with the current resolution sponsored by Nigeria.
He also called for sanctions and prosecution of any financial institution that violates AML/CFT measures and the maintenance of a public register on beneficial ownership.

Magaji urges Presudent Buhari to jettison 2019 ambition.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state, Mauzu Magaji, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore those encouraging him to re-contest in 2019 election.
Magaji, a former Special Adviser on Projects to ex-governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, said this while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, recalling that even the president had complained of his age when he assumed power in 2015.
He noted that the president has achieved a lot for the nation and needed to step down for the young and vibrant politicians as he (the president) can not handle some political dynamics of the country.
“Honestly, if you ask me l will say that the President has given so much to this country and he has done so much within his coming into the democratic space that the limitations that we have highlighted now have the potential to ruin his integrity and reputations if he continues this way.
“Unless he addresses them and we have analyzed here that addressing them might be difficult for him. I think there is a milestone in democracy that you might say even if l am giving 10 years there is much l can do but if l set the foundation and l am happy l have restored confidence and l have brought hope back and l could get younger people,” Magaji said.
“Even the President himself complained about his age when he came and complained about the dirty process within the polity which is not in tandem with what he is used to.
“So, there are political dynamics that he is not capable of assimilating, therefore we need some politicians that are vibrant, younger and capable of managing the dynamics of diabolical plans of some politicians against the state and check-mating them.
“Also they must be persons that have demonstrated the pedigree and capabilities to build a nation either from the responsibility they held before or from things they have manifested in their lives and they have the integrity to manage the resources and the moral balance to treat Nigerians equitably and fairly.
“Those are the people l think the President should look out for and hand over this nation to them as a legacy,” he added.
