How To Verify If Your Car Number Plate Is Authentic Or Fake
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-21-2018, 09:43 PM - No Replies

Some of the number plates you see on some cars are fake and not original.

The reason for this is because some were unlucky to register their cars in the wrong hands. This is very common with the Lagos and Abuja plate numbers.

A research carried out revealed that at least 4 out of every 10 cars you see on the road with Lagos and Abuja plate numbers are fake.

We are here to make sure you are using the authentic plate number.

To determine the authenticity of your vehicle plate number, you have to follow these few steps below. It is very simple and will not take time to do. All you need is a smart phone and access to the internet.

1. In your browser, go to www.nvisng.org/numberplateverification.aspx

2. Enter your plate number in the provided space (with no hyphen in between)

3. Click on the “verify” button.

After clicking on “verify”, the information about your car will appear.

For security reasons, only the name of your car will be displayed on the webpage. In other words, FRSC does not want the public to see the full details of the registration, you will only see the name of your car and the date of registration.

Note:

For anyone planning to visit the police to obtain a tinted glass permit – it is important you verify the authenticity of your car number plate first.

If the police finds out first, it might become a different story altogether.

Also, note that this verification is only applicable to the number plates with this formats ABC123AB (New plate number) not AB123 ABC (old plate number).

Please, help and share this post so it can get to the individual who might need it.

Tonto Dikeh: Olakunle Churchill Was Married To Another While We Were Married
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-21-2018, 09:42 PM - No Replies

Tonto Dikeh has revealed that her husband, Oladunni Churchill was married to someone else all through the time they were married.

The beautiful actress and mother of one made this known while granting an interview with the Saturday Sun where she also talked about her career.

When asked if she still interacts with her husband and allow him to play a major role in the life of their son, Tonto Dikeh revealed that they just ended a child custody case in court which she wouldn’t like to talk about.

“Recently, we just ended a court case which I did not publicise because I respect my son so much, anything that concerns my son I try as much as possible to keep it on the wraps. We just finished a custody battle case and a child support case.

“If you want to talk about me and my ex-husband that’s different but I will not even glorify that because he’s eating off my energy and my stardom and I don’t want that anymore. I don’t even think I was ever married because he was married to someone else while I was married to him,” she said.

Even though Tonto Dikeh and her ex-husband, Churchill Oladunni might no longer be in good terms the two set aside their differences last week when their son celebrated his birthday. Churchill Oladunni showed up at King’s school to celebrate his son’s birthday and he even took pictures with Tonto Dikeh. Among those present at the birthday party were close friends and classmates of the celebrant, King.

It would be recalled that Oladunni Churchill had filed a suit in January 2018 against Tonto Dikeh at the family court stopping his son, King from featuring in her reality show. In his application, Churchill Oladunni wants to protect his son’s image and which he feels is being exploited for financial gains

NASA Considering Demos to Push for Dialogue with President Uhuru
User Avatar Forum: Politics

NASA leaders said Kenya would go down the path of anarchy is there was no dialogue between them and the government
– Co-leader Kalonzo Musyoka was quoted saying they considered demos to let the government know that Kenyans are not happy – The government said they were ready to talk with NASA but not on electoral reforms as they wanted, only on Kenya’s development agenda

The National Super Alliance co-leaders threatened to return to the streets with their supporters to demonstrate in their fight for political space and freedom for Kenyans. TUKO.co.ke reliably learnt that co-leader Raila Odinga (ODM Party) said that if no dialogue was held between the government and the opposition, then the country will soon go down the path of anarchy.
According to a report by the Standard on Saturday, February 10, co-leader Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper Party) also said they were considering demonstrations to let the government know that Kenyans are not happy.

The Jubilee government has become rogue and their recent actions forced the opposition to consider street protests as a way of fighting for political space and freedom for Kenyans. Uhuru and Ruto are driving the country down the road of destruction, they only listen to themselves. This is why we are considering demos to let them know that Kenyans are not happy,” said Kalonzo.

These sentiments were uttered at the NASA leaders belief that their supporters were tired of sitting at the negotiating table alone.

Meet The Only Woman In Modern History To Have Married Two Presidents
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Gimbiya - 02-21-2018, 01:06 PM - Replies (1)

It’s not two leaders who fell in love with me, but two real people. I feel privileged that I have shared my life with two such exceptional men – Graça Machel
There are many things Africa has given the world which is why it’s such a wonderful place to live. Having two presidents in a country at a time is extraordinary, but the motherland has also had the only woman to have become the First Lady of two different countries – Mozambique and South Africa.

Meet Graça Simbine Machel, the only person in history of the universe to have been the first spouse to two different democratically elected African leaders.
Graça Simbine Machel was born on 17 October 1945, in Gaza, Mozambique, and she was the last child in a family of six. Her father died three weeks before her birth and left an instruction that she must be educated through high school. A will that was carried out by her older siblings.
After completing high school, the Methodist church granted her a scholarship to study at Lisbon University, Portugal. And she chose to major in languages.
Due to Surveillance from the Portuguese secret police, she was forced to abandon her education and fled to Switzerland.

In 1973, she returned to Tanzania and joined the FRELIMO where she met her first husband, Samora Machel – the first president of Mozambique.
On June 25, 1975, Mozambique gained independence and Samora Machel was made the first president of the new country.
At sworn in as a president of the new nation, Samora Machel was a widower as his wife, Josina, had died of leukaemia in 1971. In September of 1975, Graça married Samora Machel and became the First Lady of the country.
She combined this position with her cabinet portfolio as Education minister till 1986.
Samora Machel died in a plane crash on October 19, 1986, and this made her to resign her post as the country’s Minister of Education.
Graça’s marriage to Mandela was dramatic as it was announced at the 80th birthday of the late icon. This was in the presence of over 2,000 international guests in 1998.

Having tied the nuptial knots with Mandela, Graça assumed the position of the First Lady of South Africa at age 52.
Graça said about her marriage to Mandela: “We were grown up; we were settled; we knew the value of a companion, of a partner.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (FEBRUARY PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*TRUE CONFESSION .*

Wednesday, February 21st .
Pastor Chris

_*Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16).*_

When the Bible talks about confession, many only relate to it in terms of confession of sins, but confession is much more than that. Confession means to speak the same thing with God in consent; it derives from the Greek word “homologia”; it’s a principle in the Kingdom of God that begins with your salvation as a child of God.

You couldn’t have been saved without confession; not the confession of your sins, but the affirmation of the Lordship of Jesus over your life. Romans 10:9-10 says, _*“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”*_ This is the true confession that catapults you into salvation.

The only time you confess something you did wrong is after you’ve become a Christian and have received eternal life. When you do something wrong, you talk to the Lord about it and you’re cleansed. Even though you talk to God, you don’t really confess your sins, because He didn’t tell us to confess our sins to Him; He knows already. You only confess or acknowledge your faults to your brothers and/or sisters whom you’ve offended. That’s what we read in our opening verse.

Someone might ask, “How about 1 John 1:9 that says, _*“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness?”*_ For some people, they believe this means we’re always sinning; we’re in a perpetual state of sin and confession; but that’s not true; it means, if we acknowledge our sins, He blots them out. 1 John 2:1 says, _*“…if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”*_ Notice it doesn’t say, “When any man sin,” but “If any man sin,” letting you know that sin isn’t perpetual.

Moreover, the Bible says, _*“For sin shall not have dominion over you…”*_ (Romans 6:14). Hallelujah.

*PRAYER*

*Thank you blessed Father for my salvation in Christ, and for the remission and total blotting away of my sins. I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, living and manifesting the rightness of God in every place, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Romans 3:24-26* Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. *||*

*||* *1 John 4:14-15* And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. *||*

I affirm that I am in office now! Therefore, the influence of the devil and his demons are broken in my world. Like Jesus, I saw the devil fall like a lightning and he had no dwelling place in my world. I’ve been given authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me. Hallelujah! I am not under servitude to any attitude, habit, addiction or lifestyle that is inconsistent with God’s perfect will for me. I allow the Word to have full control over my spirit, soul, and body; I have the ability to make the right judgments and choices. I am a blessing to my world, ordained and chosen of God to manifest His glory, wisdom, and excellence to my world. I function today as a burning and shining light! I am making the Name of Lord known, and turning men and women from wickedness unto righteousness; this is my purpose, which I live daily to fulfill. I refuse to allow the inadequacies of others rub-off on me or change my disposition. I am who God says I am; a bright light, shining in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.   "I Never Believed I Would Marry An Illiterate" - Abuja Based Lady Reveals. Photo
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-20-2018, 10:48 PM - Replies (3)

An Abuja based woman has revealed how she felt about marrying an illiterate some years ago before meeting her lovely heartthrob. According to her, she fell in love with the man who had no form of degree, income or career prospects but now they are happily married and blessed with two beautiful children.

Read the post shared by Humans of Abuja on behalf of the lady.

If someone had told me 5 years ago that I was going to end up marrying an illiterate, I would have presumed they were mad. But that’s what happened. I was 23 years old, happily single, with a successful career as a banker when I fell in love with a man that didn't have any form of degree, a Man with no income or career prospects.

September that year, I was transferred to Abuja and one Sunday evening, I was sitting in a restaurant waiting for a friend, when a man sat down next to me. "Do you have the time?" he asked, he looked Smart, his clothes were nice, his hair and beard well cut and we started chatting and to my surprise he made me laugh several times with his bad English. I couldn’t help but notice that despite his bad English, he was handsome and tall. After a few minutes my friend arrive and he stood up and before I could say anything further he pointed to my table and said, "tomorrow 7pm, same table" then he walked away.

My friend and I stared at each other, unable to believe what had happened. Had a man who appeared to be an illiterate order me to come back the next day? How could he be so confident? I found myself thinking about him through out that day, there was something about him that was so intriguing that I wanted to meet him again.

Finally, the next day arrived and I was so excited, I could barely think straight at work, it was 7pm and I left to wait for him at the restaurant, I waited and waited, after 20 minutes I was about to give up when he turned up. " I didn’t think you would come, I came to check just in case" he said with a smile. I smiled back and my anger melted away.

During our time together, I realised that he was simply the funniest, happiest and most optimistic person I had ever met. He had a lust for life that was both mesmerising and contagious. I had never met anyone like him before. I encouraged him to go back to school but he refused.

I helped him with his English and helped correct him whenever he spoke an incorrect one. He's currently very good in both spoken and written English and doing very well business wise. We got married 3 years ago and God has blessed us with 2 beautiful kids so far.

N10k Sex: Partners Expose Themselves On Social Media After Payment Disagreement
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-20-2018, 10:46 PM - No Replies

The argument has gone viral and has already earned much attention on facebook the lady named "olori toyiba olowe" made her first post lamenting the guy "its deewill" didn't pay her off after the sex stuff that occurred between them, he apparently paid 1k instead of 10k, promising to forward the balance into her account, the lady couldn't hold the disappointment and pains, hence expressing her feelings on media.
In response to this allegation, the guy then shared a screenshot conversation between the both as they argued, meanwhile the guy refused to pay according to what is understood by their conversation. However, his point is that the girl is actually an "olosho" and doesn't worth the agreement price tag.

The poor lady swore to the fact that the guy would regret it after banging her "blue black" overnight. Lol

Victor Moses wins NFF Player of the Year

The AITEO/Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) awards held in Lagos on Monday with Victor Moses emerging the 2018 Player of Year.

Moses edged out Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Lobi Stars’ Anthony Okpotu.

DAILY POST reports that in attendance were FIFA President, Gianni Infantino and his CAF counterpart Ahmad Ahmad, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and Francis Peters, the Deputy Managing Director, Aiteo Group.

Others were ex-internationals, Samson Siasia, Christian Chukwu, Wilson Oruma, Femi Opabunmi, Mutiu Adepoju, Segun Odegbami, Daniel Amokachi, Mutiu Adepoju, Uche Okechukwu, Garba Lawal, Austin Okocha, Austine Eguaveon, among others.

Moses enjoyed a remarkable transformation during the 2016-17 season, winning over the doubters and earning his place at Chelsea despite appearing destined for the exit door.

He was introduced into the starting lineup in late 2016 in an unfamiliar wing-back role after Antonio Conte saw in the former Crystal Palace attacker a key solution to a problem position.

Throughout early 2017, Moses was a key figure for the Pensioners as they won the Premier League title, with the wideman only losing twice – against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United – before the FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal.

After being dismissed in that match, Moses bounced back with the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Community Shield final at Wembley, before the Gunners went on to clinch the trophy on penalties.

At international level, Moses, who also made the 11-man shortlist for Caf’s African Footballer of the Year award, played an influential role in Nigeria’s successful qualification for the 2018 World Cup.

Quote:Olusola Fabiyi , Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party has set up a reconciliation committee headed by a former President of the Senate , David Mark, to settle the rifts among its members in Ekiti State.

Mark, it was learnt, would be assisted by the Deputy Vice Chairman of the party in the South - West , Dr . Eddy Olafeso , and others whose identities were not known as of the time of filing this report .

The National Publicity Secretary of the party , Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, confirmed the setting up of the committee in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja on Monday .

He said , “ Yes , it is true we have set up a committee headed by Senator David Mark on Ekiti State . The committee is credible and its members were carefully chosen with a mandate to settle the rift.

“ The state is important to us and we don’ t want to play with it because after winning there , we will then move to Osun State to liberate them . ”

The crisis in Ekiti deepened when Governor Ayodele Fayose allegedly picked his deputy , Prof. Kolapo Olusola, singlehandedly as his successor and the candidate of the party in the coming governorship election .

Aggrieved leaders of the party led by a former National Publicity Secretary of the party , Prince Dayo Adeyeye , vowed that the adoption would not stand and called on the national leadership of the party to intervene to avoid its defeat in the election .

Apart from Adeyeye , other prominent aggrieved party members are the Senator representing Ekiti- South in the Senate , Mrs. Abiodun Olujimi and Nigeria’ s former Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Dare Bejide .

The trio , who have indicated interest in running for the office of the governor on the platform of the party in the July 14 election alongside a former aide and Commissioner for Justice to Fayose , Mr. Owoseeni Ajayi , jointly issued a statement describing the governor’ s action as “ pedestrian and undemocratic . ”

But when our correspondent contacted Adeyeye on the peace initiative , he said he had yet to be informed about the committee.

“Well , I have not been contacted ; but if contacted , I will take part. We are all desirous of winning the election and I can also tell you that I will win the primary . ”

TSA: Buhari Government Saves N24.7bn Monthly

The All Progressives Congress (APC)- led federal government has received high performance ratings in the management of the nation’s economy, even as the government has continued to save up to N24.7 billion monthly as a result of Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy.

A professor of Economics from the Nassarawa State University Uche Uwaleke who gave an in-depth assessment of the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari within the last two and half years in office, also revealed that about N108 billion has been saved from removal of maintenance fees payable to banks before TSA.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja at the week-long leadership training programme organised under the auspices of the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) for its coordinators nationwide, prof. Uwaleke said the sudden and unexpected drop in crude oil price from a peak of US$114.6-O/bbl in June 2014 to under US$30] bbl by February 2016 created financial crises for the government.

“Effective implementation of the Treasury Single Account, entrenching transparency and accountability. N108 billion has been saved from removal of maintenance fees payable to banks before TSA.

The nation is being saved N24.7 billion monthly with the full implementation of the TSA and implementation of the Bank Verification Number (BVN), thus tackling corruption by plugging loopholes for siphoning of public fund and tracking of illicit funds through multiple accounts.

According to him, Buhari led administration has expended over N1.2 trillion on capital/infrastructure projects nationwide last year was a milestone in the nation’s history.

“Improvement in transport infrastructure (rail and road); construction work ongoing on the Lagos-lbadan Expressway, renovation of Abuja international Airport runway, completion of Abuja Kaduna Railway among others.

“Support to states: Bailout of cash crunch states; about N689 billion to 27 states of the federation to pay salaries in 2015. Complete refund of Paris loan deductions to states (unprecedented) played a part.”

Obasanjo Is A Pathological Liar, Betrayer – MASSOB

Quote:EX-PRESIDENT OBASANJO IS A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR, BETRAYER – MASSOB

Movement for Actualization of Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) Monday berated former President Olusegun Obasanjo for his alleged hatred of Igbos and for claiming to be what he is not.

Obasanjo, who visited former President Goodluck Jonathan last week, had claimed that he believed in truth, noting that only the truth shall set a person free.
Eyes Of Lagos gathered that, But MASSOB in a statement issued in Abakaliki by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, described Obasanjo as a pathological liar, betrayer and deceiver who has continued to cover his hatred of Igbos.

The pro-Biafra group also attacked Obasanjo for not attending the burials of the two Igbo elder statesmen – Late Odumegwu Ojukwu and Dr. Alex Ekwueme or sending condolence messages over their demise, which it said, confirmed his hatred of Igbos.

The statement reads: “Obasanjo knows the truth that General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was right in all his activities that involved Biafra, he knows the truth that Ndigbo were schemed out of political reality in Nigeria, Obasanjo knows this truth that he hates Biafra and her people, he also knows the truth that all his dealings with Ndigbo are all camouflaged and hypocritical.

“Olusegun Obasanjo openly without shame proved his pathological hatred and sadisms on Ndigbo when Eze Igbo Gburugburu died, Obasanjo did not attend the burial of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and he did not send condolence. He always sees Ojukwu as his enemy even in death and whosoever that hates Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu hates Ndigbo; such a person can never be a friend to the people of Biafra, Ndigbo can never enter into alliance with such a hater.
“Again, Olusegun Obasanjo did not attend the burial of Dr Alex Ekwueme, former vice president of Nigeria, his absence during the week-long national burial of most distinguished national leader again proved his pathological hatred of Ndigbo. Obasanjo hates everything concerning Ndigbo.

“Today, Nigeria is unworkable and unfixed because devilish minded people like Obasanjo and his fellow cabals hold the country down for their selfish purposes and interests. Obasanjo knows the truth about Nigeria’s faulty foundation, which was schemed to subject Igboman to political, economical, academic, religious, cultural and social slavery, a scheme that will forever subject Ndigbo to second class citizens in Nigeria.”

How Obasanjo Gave National Assembly N50M For His 3rd Term Ambition - APC Senator

Why Buhari’s Anti-Corruption War Is Selective – APC Senator

Quote:FOR failing to probe scandals involving former president Olusegun Obasanjo, an All Progressive Congress (APC) senator, Abdullahi Adamu, has said the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari is selective.

Adamu stated this on Monday (19/02/2018), while addressing a press conference titled: “The Antics of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.”

The lawmaker was reacting to Mr. Obasanjo's open letter to Mr. Buhari urging the latter to shelve thoughts of a second term in office.

He said the Buhari's administration war on corruption is selective because the president failed to probe the third term ambition of Mr. Obasanjo; his alleged role in Halliburton scandal for which some Americans are cooling their heels in jail and the Siemens affairs in which the Obasanjo administration was indicted.

Adamu said, “Chief Obasanjo said that President Buhari is selective in his anti-corruption war. I agree with him because if the president were not selective, Chief Obasanjo himself would be in the dock today on trial on charges of corruption arising from the corrupt practices in the pursuit of his third term gambit in the national assembly in 2006.

“Today he denies that he ever nursed such ambition. And being a man much favoured by God, he has repeatedly said that if he had wanted it and asked the almighty for it, he would have given him the third term.

“He knows as well as I and other leading members of the PDP that he badly wanted it and initiated the process of constitutional amendment. He bribed each member of the National Assembly who signed to support the amendment, with the whopping sum of N50 million to make the constitutional amendment scale through.

“The fresh, mint money was taken in its original boxes presumably from the vaults of the Central Bank of Nigeria and distributed among the legislators. The money was not his and it was not appropriated by the National Assembly as required by law. I, therefore, agree that in failing to make former president account for that money, President Buhari is waging his anti-corruption war selectively.

“Nor should we forget that President Buhari has also not bothered to interrogate Obasanjo’s role in the Halliburton scandal for which some Americans are cooling their heels in jail. Perhaps, President Buhari might need to look into the Siemens affairs in which the Obasanjo administration was indicted and for which some are on trial. What became of the trial?”

According to Adamu, the former President had unhindered access to Buhari, wondering why he chose to ridicule the Presidency by writing an open letter the way he did to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.

“In a civilised political culture, it is taboo for former presidents to openly take a sitting president to the cleaners. Our former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, has faithfully kept to this time-honoured culture of a former ruler not washing the dirty linens of a current ruler rather gleefully in the public. So have former President Shehu Shagari and former head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

“The question is, if Chief Obasanjo meant well for Buhari, his administration and Nigeria, why did he not choose the option of quietly offering his advice to the president? In taking his case to the rowdy market place of sensationalism, he clearly intended to score cheap political points at the expense of the president.

“He intended to undermine the Buhari administration, subject the president to public ridicule and impugn his moral strength and integrity to lead the nation. As he must have obviously expected, his statement was intended to heat and is heating up the polity and causing confusion at this critical time when the myriads of our national challenges commend themselves to our statesmen and women for sober reflections rather than indulgence in crass sensationalism. It is a disservice to the country.

“No administration is a total success and none is a total failure. Chief Obasanjo cannot honestly claim that he ran a perfect and totally successful administration. Because he did not. Every administration grapples with problems thrown at it by circumstances beyond its control.

“President Buhari inherited an economy that was unsteady on its feet. He also inherited the security problems such as Boko Haram, armed robberies and kidnappings. Yes, I agree, that under his watch these problems should grow less, not more. But the solution to problems such as these is a slow and agonising process. He has no powers to simply make them disappear over night.

“Since he left office on October 1, 1979, to local and international applause Chief Obasanjo has systematically sought to undermine every federal administration after him. He has today set up himself as the moral conscience of the nation. He believes he has acquired the wisdom of King Solomon and has consequently imposed on himself the right to decide who rules us and how we should be ruled.

“I am aware of criticisms that the president appointed only northerners as heads of his security agencies. There may be some merit in a national spread but a president reserves the right to fill such positions with those who command his implicit trust and confidence. That is neither unconstitutional nor a moral crime.

“Coalition for Nigeria is a red herring across the path of our constitutional government. He is free to form a political party and pursue his ambition of being the power behind the throne but such a national movement would achieve no discernible purpose in the economic management and the social administration of the country.

“I believe that the Nigerian people and the Nigerian state have been most kind to him. Chief Obasanjo has a moral obligation to make the country succeed in solving its myriads of problems. That, i believe, is one way he can give back to the country that has given him so much

“As a friend, I wish to advise the former president to pull back from the dangerous path of rubbishing all presidents that came into office after him. Bringing everyone down is not a patriotic duty.”

Quote:The Senate has condemned the demolition of the building used by a faction of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State by the state government.

The chamber asked Governor Nasir el-Rufai to either provide a replacement for the secretariat or compensate Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna-North) who was said to own the building.

The Senate made the resolution following a point of order raised at the plenary on Tuesday by Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna-Central), who described el-Rufai as “an affliction on the people of Kaduna State.”

A herd of cattle strayed onto the runway of Akure Airport this morning, preventing an Air Peace flight from Lagos from landing.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has apologised to Air Peace Airlines and its passengers for the incident. FAAN issued the apology in a statement signed by its General Manager, Corporate Affairs , Mrs Henrietta Yakubu in Lagos on Saturday.
Yakubu said the Air Peace flight, which left Lagos for Akure could not land immediately as some cows strayed onto the runway of the airport.

She said :”However, normalcy was restored quickly, as officers of the aviation security department quickly dispersed the cows from the runway and the aircraft was cleared for landing. “The authority will like to assure travellers and the general public that efforts are already ongoing to close the gap that aided this incident.

The Corporate Communications Manager of Air Peace, Mr Chris Iwarah , also confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Saturday. Iwarah said: “Flight P4 7002 from Lagos had to delay landing into Akure Airport on Saturday when the pilot-in-command sighted cows on the runway at about 12.15pm.

“On being alerted by control tower, aviation security personnel of the FAAN (FAAN AVSEC) quickly intervened and cleared the runway. “The flight was eventually cleared to land after about seven minutes. Our guests on board were all calm while the delay lasted.” He said the aircraft departed for Lagos at about 1.06pm with full escort from FAAN security personnel. (NAN)

11 Reverend Fathers Defrauded Of N42 Million In Edo By 2 Men Via Wonder Bank

Quote:Wonder bank: 2 men allegedly defraud 11 Catholic priests of N42m

BENIN—TWO persons, Greg Okojie and Monday Ahunwa, were yesterday arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Benin, the Edo State capital, for allegedly defrauding 11 reverend fathers of N42 million through their ‘wonder bank’ scheme.

The reverend fathers were said to have been attracted to the scheme because of the high interest rate that was payable on deposits.

They were said to have been introduced to the wonder bank by a branch manager of a new generation bank, Mr. Okojie.

It was gathered that Father Fidelis Arhedo was first introduced to the wonder bank supposedly owned by Monday Ahunwan and deposited N13 million.

Father Arhedo later introduced 10 other priests after he received ‘good interest.’

Other persons that fell to the scam besides the reverend fathers are Onomen Oriakhi and Theresa Oriakhi.

It was gathered that trouble started when the wonder bank could not pay accumulated interest on the entire N42 million collected from the reverend fathers, which forced the victims to report the matter to the Police.

Greg and Monday were arraigned before an Oredo Magistrate’s Court for conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretext and stealing. But they pleaded not guilty.

In the charge sheet, the accused persons were alleged to have collected N42 million with the pretext of using it to do business and payback interest of five percent monthly.

The accused persons were earlier arraigned on a three-count charge, but the prosecutor, Inspector Agbonifo Patrick, amended the charges to 13.

Presiding Magistrate, F. E. Akhere, granted the accused persons N200,000 bail each and a surety in like sum; and adjourned the case till April 4 for hearing.

Man Impregnates And Weds His Sister In Anambra Church. Youths Burn Church
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-20-2018, 04:34 PM - No Replies

By Okegwo Kenechukwu

Just like a fairy tale, a 25-year-old man, Mr. Chiadi Ezeibekwe, said he impregnated his 17-year-old younger sister. As if that was not enough, he wedded her at a church at their Agba village in Ekwulobia, Anambra State. Agba youths, who saw the marriage as “an abomination,” burnt down the church where the wedding was consummated.

It was learnt that the wedding was conducted by Chiadi’s elder brother, Mr. Chijioke Ezeibekwe, a Shepherd of Dwelling Fullness of God Church, Agba. Chiadi quoted Deuteronomy 36: 6, which, according to him, permits marriage between brothers and sisters of the same parents.

However, a member of the church, who spoke on condition of anonymity, countered that. He referred the brothers to Leviticus 18:9, which clearly speaks against marriage between brother and sister.

A source noted that immediately their eldest brother, Mr. Emeka Ezeibekwe, heard of the “incestuous marriage,” he alerted the clan head, who summoned the family to an emergency meeting. When their father, popularly, known as “Luisco,” was contacted for comments, he said that his concern was a way out of the situation, since according to him, “what has happened, has happened’’.

Addressing the crowd which gathered on their premises, their mother claimed that his son’s action was biblical, saying Chiadi paid her the bride price. Further enquiries showed that Chiadi and some members of the family were baptised into the Adventist Church after leaving their former church in August 2016.

“Since they were baptised into the church, they have been engaged in weird and rebellious behaviour as well as false teachings,’’ said Mr. Onyeka, a member of the Adventist Church in Ekwulobia.

“Because of their rebellious attitude and false teachings, the Seventh Day Adventist Church expelled them since May 2017.

Not long after that, Mr. Chijioke Ezeibekwe started his own church,” Onyeka added. It was also learnt that their grandmother passed away a few days after she found out about the marriage. The Igwe-in-Cabinet had since summoned the family for interrogation.
Buhari’s SGF Spends N65 Million On OSGF WEBSITE
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-20-2018, 04:32 PM - No Replies

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF, in 2017 appropriated and claimed to have spent N65 million on its website.

PREMIUM TIMES review of the 2017 budget performance of the OSGF revealed that N65 million was budgeted for the already existing website while the office claimed that N64, 855, 875, the amount released, had been fully utilised.

Quoted as ‘OSGF WEBSITE,’ the budget performance record remarked that the ‘procurement process is ongoing.’

The office of the SGF is currently occupied by Boss Mustapha who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in October 2017. The office was formerly occupied by Babachir Lawal who was sacked after President Buhari adopted recommendations of a report of a panel headed by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, which investigated allegations against Mr. Lawal who was suspended for months.

PREMIUM TIMES could not ascertain which of the two government officials executed the project.

Appearing before the Senate committee in January 2018 to defend the 2017 budget performance, Mr. Mustapha said the office received 50 per cent of its appropriation for capital projects.

“Performance for capital is N1.2 billion released as at end of December, 2017. It represents 50 per cent. We are hoping that the National Assembly will extend the lifespan of the budget so that we can handle other procurement processes.

Apparently, the fund release for the website is one of those captured in Mr. Mustapha’s 50 per cent but the cost and execution of the project left more to desire.

Spokesperson to Mr. Mustapha, Mohammed Nakorji, when contacted, declined to answer PREMIUM TIMES’ questions on how the fund was disbursed.

“I’m not an accountant please,” he snapped.

Meanwhile, technology experts say the claim was suspicious and impossible.

After a review of the website, communications officer of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria, PIN, Sodiq Alabi said the claim that N65 million was spent on the website looked ‘very impossible.’

“We have reviewed the website, it is simply shocking that N65 million was spent on the website. It’s implausible,” he said. “OSGF must provide more details on what they did with the money. The website has no special features to justify more than a million naira budget.

“It doesn’t look like they are even updating the website. The copyright is 2013. It looks very impossible and suspicious. At least the SGF office should tell us what they did with the money. They should tell us what they did with the money so that Nigerian tax payers’ mind can be at rest.”

Cheta Nwanze, Head of Research, SBM Intelligence, after a review of the website, said the N65 million could never be justified.

He said, “The website was built using the Joomla CMS, which is a free content management system. All of the media is hosted on YouTube, which is an external server. It uses Google Hosted Libraries for its content distribution. No way can it cost ₦65 million, unless I heard you wrong.”

He said the maximum cost for such a website would be $105 per month.

“Depending on the hosting package, $100 per month can get you a very good hosting plan. If you insist on using Google apps to host your emails and documents, that’s $5 per user per month. So you can do the maths.”

@VIVIANGIST

I never condemned Buhari's government totally. Lagos-Ibadan road for instance has been there in bad shape from my time, Yar'adua and Jonathan period, a road that even passes through my state Ogun, but it is obvious that Buhari has done it...

Nigerian Court Releases 475 Boko Haram Suspects

Quote:Nigerian court releases 475 Boko Haram suspects

*Justice ministry says no evidence of their involvement with the armed group, after some detainees were held for years.

Nearly 500 Boko Haram suspects have been released by a Nigerian court citing a lack of evidence, with some detainees held for years without charge.

The 475 suspects will be returned to their home states for "proper rehabilitation" before being sent back to their families, a justice ministry statement said on Sunday.

Those detained were arrested on suspicion they belonged to Boko Haram or had concealed information about the group's plans or fighters' whereabouts.

"However, the Prosecution Counsel could not charge them with any offence due to lack of sufficient evidence against them. Therefore, the suspects were released," the statement said.

The court proceedings in the town of Kainji, in central Niger state, was part of the second phase of an unprecedented mass trial of more than 1,600 suspects.

Some of the cases heard last week involved suspects held without trial since 2010.

Among those released was a young girl with a three-month-old baby from Borno State who was taken to a Boko Haram enclave by her brother and married off to his friend when she was 11. She was arrested in 2014 while trying to escape.

The Kainji court sentenced 20 Boko Haram members to between two and 15 years in jail last week.

It also imposed a second 15-year sentence on Haruna Yahaya, 35, who was involved in the 2014 kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls from the Chibok region.

Earlier in the week, he had been jailed for 15 years but the court handed him an additional 15-year term on Friday, with the judge saying the two sentences would run consecutively.

In total, some 1,669 people have been processed in a string of mass hearings that began in October.

Most were men, but some women and children were also jailed. Nigeria was criticised by human rights groups for holding them for years without trial, or even contact with a lawyer.

After the first phase of the trial in October, 45 Boko Haram fighters were sentenced to between three to 31 years in jail, while about 500 people were discharged.

More than 20,000 people have been killed and two million forced to flee their homes in northeastern Nigeria since Boko Haram launched a rebellion in 2009 aimed at creating an Islamic state.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari recently said the era of Boko Haram violence "is gradually drawing to end". However, the group continues to launch attacks in the country's northeast and its leader remains at large.

According to confirmed reports, the head office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) faction which suspended Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, has been demolished. It was gathered that the demolition was carried out under the supervision of armed security personnel and some suspected thugs.

The team which pulled down the building located at Sambo road, GRA Kaduna, was said to have arrived at the place around 4am on Tuesday.

The faction known as Kaduna Restoration Group is led by Suleiman Hukunyi, senator representing Kaduna north central.

On Thursday, it issued a query to el-Rufai and suspended three of the governor’s aides.

The faction later announced that the governor had been suspended for six months.

Middle Belt Groups, Afenifere, Others Kick As ACF Rejects State Police
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 02-20-2018, 04:18 PM - No Replies

Quote:The Arewa Consultative Forum has rejected the proposal for the creation of state police, saying the privilege will be abused.

The ACF’s position has, however, drawn heated reactions from organisations, including Middle Belt groups, pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere; and Civil Liberties Organisation.

The All Progressives Congress’ restructuring committee, led by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, had recommended state police, among other suggestions.

Also the Nigeria Governors’ Forum last week supported Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who called for the creation of state police at a security summit organised by the Senate.

But the ACF, faulting the call for state police, noted that the creation of state police would lead to chaos.

The ACF’s Secretary General, Mr. Anthony Sani, in an interview with one of our correspondents in Kaduna, said if created, the various state governors would abuse state police the way the state electoral commissions were being abused.

According to the ACF, governors will use state police to torment the opposition.

“Given the experiences where state governments use the state electoral commissions to kill democracy at the local government level – where no opposition party wins a seat in the local government council – there is the high possibility of state governments abusing state police with dire consequences, especially in states with many ethnic groups and religions,” the ACF’s secretary said.

The ACF, he added, was opposed to state police because it believed that the problems of the police were lack of training and lack of equipment, as well as insufficient personnel.

He also said given the paucity of resources, it would not be a good judgment to saddle states with additional responsibilities of state police.

He said the northern body believed that the problems that led to the calls for state police could not be solved by the multiplication of security agencies.

Sani said that the northern group was of the view that the Nigeria Police Force would perform better if given adequate training, equipment and manpower.

The ACF secretary said, “We prefer that police personnel be properly trained and adequately equipped, while their number should be increased rather that the introduction of state police.”

However, the Middle Belt Youth Council President, Emma Zopmal, faulted the ACF position, saying the position of the northern group was borne out of fear.

He said, “They are not experts in security and defence. State policing is the only way of guaranteeing safety of lives and property of citizens. Regional police effectively worked in the First Republic; there’s no doubt that it will work at the state level today.

“With the incessant infiltration of Nigeria’s territorial space by Fulani herdsmen, the federal police can no longer protect some states and citizens from the marauding killer herdsmen. We are aware that Nigerian government says that the Fulani herdsmen are foreigners.

“I do not believe that state governors will abuse state police. Even if they do so, they would have copied it from the present Federal Government, which also abuses police power.”

According to him, with laws governing state police system, there will be no abuse.

“Strong institutions will also ensure that the state police system is not abused.

“Our restructuring demands in the Middle Belt are state creation, creation of Middle Belt Region with its autonomy, state or regional police and solid mineral resource control.

“Functional laws in the state will prevent any abuse of state police.’’

Also, The President of the National Council of Tiv Youths, Chief John Akperashi, rejected ACF’s position and supported the creation of state police.

He said, “The truth basically is that state police remain the best to ensure an effective check of external aggression.”

According to him, the recent attacks by herdsmen had made the call for state police necessary.

He said, “Governors, although proclaimed chief security officers of their states, still appear helpless in the deployment of the security agencies, especially the police.”

He said the problem had strengthened the need for state police.

Akperashi said, “Certainly if the police are in the control of the governors at the affected states, this destruction and unfortunate killings wouldn’t have gone up to alarming proportions.”

“The governor of Zamfara just came out to decry the inefficiency of the security formations in his state which he alleged failed him as he did everything humanly possible in mitigating that carnage.

“The governor of Benue State also stated the complicity roles of the security in his state and particularly the ineffectiveness of the police. If Ortom had had the police under his direct command, he would have achieved much more and saved more lives against what was witnessed in Benue.”

On its part, Afenifere dismissed as baseless the fear by the ACF that governors would abuse state police.

The group argued that the ACF’s anxiety was not strong enough to stop the establishment of state police, noting that necessary institutions to check abuse by the governors would simply be put in place.

Afenifere National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, in an interview with The PUNCH, said, “The handling of the killings by herdsmen across the country has shown that the Federal Government is misusing the Nigeria Police Force.”

Executive Director, Civil Liberties Organization, Steve Aluko, said efficient mechanism for checks and balances to guide against abuses could be put in place instead of the ACF’s rejection.

He stated, “There is the need for supervisory channels to curb the excesses of the governors.”

According to him, the state police will enhance intelligence gathering needed for preventive actions rather than over centralised structures that delay, leading to wastage of lives and property.

“The justification for the state police is the success story of the joint civilian and military operations in countering insurgency and extreme radicalism in the North-East. State police system is an idea whose time has come to tame the increasing criminality of the new age,” he added

The President, Conference of Ethnic Nationalities of Niger Delta, Prof. Kimse Okoko, dismissed the position of the ACF, adding that a new constitution would not allow state governors to go beyond their powers in controlling state police.

He said, “State police is part of the total restructuring that Nigerians demand; it (state police) has to be part of the production of a new constitution. This is because state police is related to the security issues being talked about in the country today.’’

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (FEBRUARY PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*YOU’RE A BLESSING .*

Tuesday, February 20th .
Pastor Chris

_*Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).*_

The mentality the Lord expects us to have isn’t that of those in need of blessings but that of a people blessed beyond measure, to be a blessing. Our opening verse says He’s blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3), not just so we can enjoy and keep the blessings to ourselves, but so we’ll be a blessing to our world.

In Genesis 12:3, God said, _*“And I will bless them that bless thee....”*_ Part of your heritage as the seed of Abraham is that through you, the nations of the earth shall be blessed.

Take Joseph for an example: The Lord blessed him so much that he became the envy of all his brothers. When his brothers sold him as a slave, he became the manager of his master’s (Potiphar’s) estate.

The Bible specifically records that from the time Potiphar made Joseph the overseer of his house, and of all that he had, the Lord blessed him and his entire household for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was upon all that Potiphar had in his house and in the field (Genesis 39:5). Such an amazing reality!

When Joseph was unjustly sent to prison, due to false accusations from his master’s wife, he soon became the head of the prisoners because he was always quick to help others. Furthermore, through his wisdom, the whole Egyptian empire was preserved from severe famine.

As a blessed person, it doesn’t matter what job you do: your prosperity is assured. Even your work is an avenue to bless others. Ephesians 4:28 shows us the reason for work. It says, _*“Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”*_ He wants you to work, get a job, not so you can make a living or make ends meet, but so you can be a blessing to others as well.

Your job is your opportunity to express the excellence God has deposited within you. There’s so much within you that the world can benefit from. That’s why you must be the best of you, and bless the world with the investment of your personality. Find a need, and reach out to meet it.

*PRAYER*

*My life is for the glory of God. His blessings are evident and working in and through me, and I’m a dispenser of the same. Thank you Father, for the increased ability to positively impact my world as I live gloriously for you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Genesis 12:2* And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: *||*

*||* *1 Peter 3:9* Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. *||*

Buhari: All Recovered Assets Will Be Sold Off

Quote:By Isiaka Wakili

President Muhammadu Buhari says all mismanaged and misappropriated national assets recovered will be sold off and proceeds paid to the treasury for the country's benefit.

He vowed that he would not allow a repeat of what happened in the 1980s when buildings and other ill-gotten property seized by his military administration were returned to corrupt officials following his ouster as Head of State.

Buhari, according to his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Malam Garba Shehu, said this on Monday in his Daura country home in Katsina State while receiving representatives of social groups in Daura Emirate.

The president said his administration would continue to pursue a robust, effective and legitimate anti-corruption campaign that safeguards the treasury and commonwealth of all Nigerians.

He assured that the All Progressives Congress-led government would consolidate on the gains and monumental achievements in the development of infrastructure across the country.

“For most ordinary Nigerians, if you give them good roads, railway and stable electric power they will be happy to carry on with their lives.

‘‘We are doing so much for our country and we will continue to do more out of the fear of God,” President Buhari said.

On agriculture development, he promised that the Federal Government would sustain the provision of funds, improved seedlings and fertilizer to farmers to ensure that the sector remains the largest employer of labour to Nigerians.

President Buhari said the records of achievements on security, war against corruption and the revival of the economy had remained very impressive.

He expressed delight that more young people were venturing into agribusiness; while security, especially in the northeast, had remarkably changed from what he met in 2015.

Alhaji Mohammed Saleh, the spokesman of the delegations, commended President Buhari for implementing policies and programmes that have created gainful employment to thousands of young Nigerians under the Social Investment Programme.

Saleh said improved electricity supply in their communities and growing foreign reserves are clear indications of good management of the economy under the present administration.

The delegations also congratulated the President on his appointment as the continental Champion against corruption by the African Union, noting that it underscored the global appreciation of the good work he is doing in fighting corruption.

They also commiserated with the President on the recent loss of his close family members.

The groups represented at the meeting were the Daura Emirate Coalition of Associations; the Amalgamation of Daura Emirate Political Associations; the Buhari Group; the Daura Emirate Development Forum; Women in Politics in Daura Emirate and the Daura Emirate Consultative Forum.

Boko Haram Attacks University Of Maiduguri

Quote:Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect have launched yet another attack on the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).

A source told TheCable that a suicide bomber struck close to one of the hostels in the university around 7:50pm on Monday.
Details of the attack are still sketchy.

The insurgents have carried out a series of attacks on UNIMAID. In January 2017, the sect struck in the university killing four people, including an infant and a professor.

Between then and now, the institution has recorded at least five attacks from Boko Haram.
Last year, Dani Mamman, chairman Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) UNIMAID chapter said at least 70 lecturers have resigned from the university since 2009 owing to the Boko Haram insurgency.

Fresh N10bn NHIS Scam: Buhari Presidency Stinks, Has No Honour Left- PDP
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 02-19-2018, 10:13 PM - No Replies

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the attempts at concealing a N10billion fraud perpetrated by the officials of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) have shown that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari stinks and has lost all honour.

The PDP made the declaration in a statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan. The opposition party was referring to an exclusive report on the theft, which showed how the recently reinstated Executive Secretary of the NHIS, Professor Yusuf Usman, and other officials made unauthorized withdrawals from enrollees’ funds in two installments of N5 billion each from the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account (TSA) in the Central Bank of Nigeria, which is under the direct purview of the Presidency.

According to the PDP, the country is being pushed daily to the precipice by the Presidency's incompetence. It added that it is the height of hypocrisy for a government that is superintending over illegal withdrawals and theft stealing of funds to parade itself as fighting corruption.

The PDP stated further that the only logical explanation for the concealment is because the Presidency was complicit, while the stolen fund is being used to service members of the cabal around the President.

“Nigerians can now see the level of debauchery associated with this administration. It is appalling that a government can be so depraved that it superintended over the stealing of money meant to provide healthcare for the citizens. We challenge the Presidency to speak out on this report as well as similar reported sleazes that has occurred under its watch,” said the PDP.

It wondered who in the Presidency authorized the withdrawal of the money from the TSA and who the beneficiaries are. It equally wondered what the Presidency will say about the revelation that it ordered the reinstatement of the indicted Professor Usman to help conceal the illegal withdrawals and shield members of the cabal around the President, who were involved in the deal.

“Until and unless the Presidency clears its name by investigating, exposing and prosecuting those involved, it must directly be held responsible for this wicked act against Nigerians, who daily suffer hunger, depravation and death owing to the corruption in the All Progressives Congress (APC) government,” stated the PDP.

It called on Nigerians and the international community to note that the Presidency failed to act on the leaked memo showing the fraudulent award of $25 billion oil contracts at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), an agency under President Buhari’s direct supervision as Minister of Petroleum.

It also added that the Presidency has refused to explain the alleged involvement of its officials in various shady oil subsidy deals as well as reported diversion of N1.1trillion worth of crude in 2017 to service the interests of the APC.

“Nigerians are aware that the Presidency has continued to shield fraudulent cabinet ministers, including those known for extorting funds from agencies under them, in addition to those indicted for corrupt enrichment. Indeed, this government stinks and has irredeemably lost all honour,” said the PDP.

Couple Found Dead In A Car In Germany During Sex After They Turned Engine On

A Unclad couple was found dead in a car and it is believed they suffocated after turning on the engine to keep warm while having sex.

The bodies of a 39-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were discovered by police in a locked garage in the city of Bottrop in western Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state.

The names of the couple have not been released but investigators say it appears they turned on the car engine to get warm, leading to their suffocation.

The man had been reported missing by his family after he had not been seen for days. This led to a search. Meanwhile, officers in the city had also started an investigation into the woman’s sudden disappearance. Police later opened the garage door to find the couple dead. Nobody had noticed the car engine had been left running for hours behind the metal gate of the garage which is located behind a commercial building.

Police said there appeared to be no evidence of a crime but forensic scientists were working hard to establish exactly what happened. Tests are being carried out to ascertain CO levels in the blood of the couple.

A police spokesman said: “At the moment all evidence points to an accident. To put all doubts to rest, the public prosecutor ordered an autopsy be performed on the bodies.”

'People should jettison the illusion that President Muhammadu Buhari can’t be beaten in 2019, he sure can be beaten and beaten silly to put a permanent end to the delusion and despicable arrogance of members of his cabal!'

Jehovah's Witness Refused Blood Transfusion For His Pregnant Wife Till She Died
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 02-19-2018, 01:49 PM - No Replies

A Nigerian man has narrated how a Jehovah's Witness refused blood transfusion for his pregnant wife and watched her die in the hospital.

According to Ajayi Afolabi, he gave the man a slap for the act. Read the story below...

"So, I was at a General Hospital in Lagos while an heavily pregnant woman was rushed in on child labour. She was immediately taken to the theater and after some mins, one ofthe lead doctors came out to request for the husband ofthe pregnant lady.
DOC: Your wife is short of blood. She needs an immediate blood transfusion.

Husband: Same thing they said from the hospital she has been in the last 3 days of labour. We are Jehovah witness, we don't accept unknown blood.

DOC: This is highly important to save your wife's life and the unborn baby.

Husband: We have worked for the lord with all our strength, he can't fail us, she can't die.

DOC: I may need to proceed forcefully if you don't accept.
Husband: Then be ready to face the law in court.

So the doctor went back to the theater, asked the woman if she has another relative close by who can sign to receive blood while she was wheeled out of the theater. The woman cried with her pale eyes and begged the husband to allow the doctors transfuse but he refused bluntly. I was so angry and I walked up to him. Tried convincing but he was so adamant and stubborn.

Some mins later, the doctors asked him to take his wife to LUTH, for better health care facilities that could condole non blood transfusion. He was requested to get an ambulance for transportation. To my surprise, this nigga got a Volvo stretcher ambulance meant for dead people. Gosh, so angry at this point.
Called a couple of people around and I aided a quick release of a proper life saving ambulance. While wheeling this woman to the ambulance after wasting about 4hours, she gave up in tears and was later confirmed that the unborn baby also died.

Wow! What a wicked world in the name of a borrowed religion. Then the husband bursted into tears. I didn't do much, I moved close, looked straight into his eyes, slapped and gave him a couple kicks which later threw the whole general hospital into chaos.

I later reminisced over it the following day and asked myself this questions; why would I allow my loved one die in the name of a religion? Should the religion save lives or kill?

CBN Bars Banks With Huge Bad Loans From Paying Dividends
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 02-19-2018, 01:47 PM - No Replies

Quote:Oyetunji Abioye

The Central Bank of Nigeria has stopped the payment of dividends to shareholders by Deposit Money Banks and discount houses with huge bad loans and low capital base.

This is due to the rising non -performing loans and the need to stop further erosion of the capital base of the banks and discount houses .
The directive is coming barely a week to the release of the 2017 financial year ’ s annual reports by commercial banks and discount houses in the country.

The development has dashed the hope of many shareholders as a number of the banks will be affected by the directive and consequently unable to pay dividends .

The CBN said the move was aimed at stemming the tide of rising non - performing loans and the consequent weakening and erosion of the banks ’ capital base .

The directive was handed down in a letter dated January 31, 2018 .

In the letter to the banks and discount houses , which was signed by the Director , Banking Supervision Department , CBN, Ahmad Abdullahi , the regulator said it had observed that rather than grow their capital with retaining earnings , some banks were paying out a greater proportion of their profits, irrespective of their risk profile and the need to build resilience through adequate capital buffers .

As a result, the apex bank barred the DMBs and discount houses with the NPLs above 10 per cent from paying dividends to their shareholders.

The CBN ’ s minimum NPL threshold for banks is five per cent , meaning lenders ’ bad loans should not exceed five per cent of their loan books.
As of September 2017, the banking industry ’ s NPLs had hit 15. 18 per cent .

The level of the NPLs in banks rose by 50 per cent to N 2 . 4 tn from N 1 . 6 tn in December 2016 , according to the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation ’ s data .

The CBN, in the latest circular , also directed that banks and discount houses, which did not meet the regulator ’ s minimum Capital Adequacy Ratio , not to pay dividends to their shareholders.

The CBN sets different minimum CARs for banks in the country: 16 per cent for those it considers to be systemically important ; 15 per cent for those with international banking licences; and 10 per cent for the rest.

The circular , which was made public on Sunday, read in part, “ Globally, retained earnings have been identified as an important source of growing an institution ’ s capital . Advantages of retained earnings include being a source of long - term finance ; being easier and cheaper to raise than external finance ; curtailment of financial risks ; and improving liquidity and profitability .

“ However , it has been observed that rather than take advantage of this beneficial means of capital generation , some institutions pay out a greater proportion of their profits, irrespective of their risk profile and the need to build resilience through adequate capital buffers . ”

It added , “In order to facilitate sufficient and adequate capital build up for banks in tandem with their risk appetite , the following directives will now apply :
“ Any Deposit Money Bank or discount house that does not meet the minimum capital adequacy ratio shall not be allowed to pay dividend .

“ The DMBs and DHs that have a Composite Risk Rating of ‘ High’ or a non - performing loan ratio of above 10 per cent shall not be allowed to pay dividend .

“ The DMBs and DHs that meet the minimum capital adequacy ratio but have a CRR of ‘ Above Average ’ or an NPL ratio of more than five per cent but less than 10 per cent shall have dividend pay- out ratio of not more than 30 per cent .

“ The DMBs and the DHs that have capital adequacy ratios of at least three per cent above the minimum requirement , the CRR of ‘ Low ’ and the NPL ratio of more than five per cent but less than 10 per cent , shall have dividend pay- out ratio of not more than 75 per cent of profit after tax . ”

“ There shall be no regulatory restriction on dividend pay - out for the DMBs and the DHs that meet the minimum capital adequacy ratio , have a CRR of ‘ Low’ or ‘ Moderate ’ and an NPL ratio of not more than five per cent. However , it is expected that the boards of such institutions will recommend pay - outs based on effective risk assessment and economic realities .

“ No DMB or DH shall be allowed to pay dividend out of reserves .

“ Banks shall submit their board - approved dividend pay-out policy to the CBN before the payment of dividend shall be permitted . All ratios shall be based on financial year averages. This circular takes immediate effect . ”

Nigeria’s External Reserves Rise By 1.1% In 6 Days
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 02-19-2018, 01:45 PM - No Replies

The 30-day moving average of Nigeria’s foreign external reserves last week accrued by $442.8 million or 1.07 per cent rising to $41.54 billion as at February 14, 2018 according to latest data on the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The reserves had reached a five year high mark last week as it crossed $41 billion on February 8, 2018, a level it last achieved in December 2013. Analysts project that the reserves will continue to accrue this year, rising to almost $50 billion. The rising exports in the country as well as the increased confidence and inflow of foreign exchange through the Nigeria Autonomous Foreign Exchange (NAFEX) window were also factors contributing to the accretion of the external reserves. The reserves has this year increased by $2.62 billion or 6.7 per cent from $38.91 billion which it was as at January 2, 2018. Last week, inflow of foreign exchange at the Nigeria Autonomous Foreign Exchange window, also known as the Investors and Exporters window stood at $789.9 million CBN director, Banking Supervision, Ahmed Abdullahi, while noting the increasing optimism in the Nigerian economy, said it is being fueled by “the fact that we have a very low risk rating in the economy and we have one of the lowest risk premium as per the debt market. “There is a very high confidence in the economy occasioned by the fact that the reserves is at the highest level and we are talking of reserves of about $42 billion at the moment. We closed the year at about $40 billion in 2017 and it has risen to about $42 billion,” he stated. The CBN has introduced several polices to increase the flow of foreign exchange into the country and stem the volatility at the foreign exchange market. Its most successful policy according to analysts is the NAFEX also known as the Investors and Exporters window which has seen an inflow of over $32.9 billion since its launch in April last year. According to analysts at FBNQuest, based on the balance of payments for the 12 months through to September 2017, the reserves at the end of January 2018 covered 15.1 months’ merchandise imports, and 10.2 months when services are added. FBNQuest analysts noted that the rapid accumulation of $12.69 billion over 12 months “is due to two sizeable Eurobond launches, a small diaspora bond issue and the recovery in oil export revenues (through the NNPC’s share of production). We have to add the CBN’s foreign exchange reforms in H1 2017 because the substantial autonomous inflows have reduced its need to supply forex to the various windows. We should stress that the data are gross and mask the swap transactions the CBN has entered into with local banks.”

Obasanjo Thanks Buhari For Awarding 22 Modular Refinery Operational Licences
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-19-2018, 01:44 PM - No Replies

n what appears to be a volte-face, former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the weekend turned around and praised President Muhammad Buhari for achieving huge success in an area where previous administrations, including his, could not make headway.

Obasanjo had last month passed a damning verdict of the Buhari administration, saying he felt disappointed by Buhari, whom he supported during the 2015 presidential poll.

In a 13-page statement he issued on January 23, the former president categorically asked Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019, adding that instead, he should honourably “dismount from the horse” to join the league of the country’s former leaders whose “experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country.”

But speaking at the weekend while performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Azikel Refinery, the first private modular refinery in the oil and gas-rich Niger Delta region, Obasanjo described as “commendable” the Buhari administration’s decision to award operational licences to 22 firms for the construction of modular refineries in the country.

He noted that 18 of such licences were approved under his administration but that none of them was able to actualise it, unlike the present administration.

Obasanjo praised President Buhari for awarding modular refinery operational licences to 22 firms, including Azikel Petroleum.

He noted that, out of the 22 licensed operators, Azikel Petroleum is the only company that had actualised its dream of establishing a modular refinery.

The former president stated that he was delighted at the commitment of Azikel Petroleum, adding that none of the 18 licenses earlier awarded by his administration came to fruition.

Obasanjo said, “I have been told that President Buhari and his government gave 22 licences and that Azikel Petroleum is the only license out of the 22 that is really actualised.

“Before then, we gave 18 and not one was actialised. They gave all manner of excuses, including insecurity and oil prices. But those excuses they gave are still there. But they were not genuine entrepreneurs. They were after collecting licences to get crude oil. And that is why in an occasion like this, we should pay special tribute to people like Eruani.

“I join you all in thanking President Buhari for giving four licences more than we gave. And he (Buhari) is lucky that he has a man like Eruani to be the only one to actualise.”

He also commended the Bayelsa State government under Governor Seriake Dickson for creating the enabling environment for the take-off of the modular refinery project.

Ortom: President Buhari Ignored My Invitation To Benue Over Herdsmen Killings
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-19-2018, 01:41 PM - No Replies

@POLITICSNGR

Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom has revealed that he extended an invitation to President Buhari to come to Benue and console with victims of Fulani herdsmen attacks, but it wasn't honored.

Speaking on a television programme last weekend, Ortom said that as president, it was Buhari's duty to provide citizens of the country with security but failed to take action to curb the killings. In his words;

"We invited the president when we visited him in Abuja; that he should come to Benue state and extend his condolences to his people. Because we are members of the party, he is our president. If these people are attacking us, we expect him to give us security.

He has done a number of things. He directed NEMA to provide relief materials, he also asked for security to be beefed up but I am not satisfied with what the presidency is doing on this matter. There is no doubt about that.

I ask for justice for Benue people because we have not been treated fairly… These herdsmen militia even killed policemen. The herdmen have gone beyond grazing. It’s about taking over our lands. For now, my primary concern is to stop these killings; to ensure that the Internally Displaced Persons go back to their homes and live peacefully. Once that is done, we can talk about other things.

I don’t care about what happens tomorrow. Even if I am not governor, I can stay back and fight for the right of my people.

Ortom further stated that the attacks by herdsmen in the state are acts of vengeance for losing the 1804 Jihad. because Benue people stopped them from entering the state through Sokoto.

"They are convening international conferences, issuing press releases and writing on social media and they have come out to say ‘look, in 1804 Jihad, it was Benue people who stopped them from penetrating from Sokoto to the sea. And this time around, they are not going to stop.’

They will make sure that the mobilise all Fulani men across the globe, especially from the West African sub-region to ensure that they acquire arms and come and invade and take over the land because they also said that Nigeria is the only land that God has given them, so no other person will supervene on this land except them. That it is their own land, they got this land by conquest and we have no business staying on this land. It is unbelievable. The statement is coming from Miyetti Allah."

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 19TH FEBRUARY.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT✨

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9).

God always has a purpose for what He does; He doesn’t just do things. For example, He didn’t just bring you out of darkness, He also transferred you into His marvellous light. Always, He brings you out, to bring you in. Colossians 1:13 says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”

Did you notice He didn’t just deliver you from the power of darkness? That alone would have been wonderful, but He went a step further to catapult you to the Kingdom of His love-son. Thus, our opening scripture above reveals your present location: God’s marvellous light; His awe-inspiring light! That’s your domicile; therefore, no darkness in your life.

It brings to mind the words of Jesus in John 8:12. He said, “…he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” We’re the children of Light, dwelling in the Light, and the Lord is the father of lights (James 1:17).

Darkness represents sin, death, evil and all the negativities associated with Satan. You’ve been brought out of all that, including sickness, disease, depression, poverty, frustrations, etc., into the gracious and glorious life in Christ; the liberty of the sons of God. 2 Corinthians 4:6 says, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts….”

We see by Him; He’s our light. Speaking prophetically, the psalmist, in Psalm 36:9 says, “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” You dwell in God’s light, in His Kingdom of light, where you reign over darkness, manifesting the virtues and excellence of Almighty God.

PRAYER
My life is for the glory of God. I’ve been divinely commissioned to display the virtues and perfections of divinity. I manifest the power and excellence of Christ to everyone in my world. Thank you blessed Lord, for bringing me out of darkness into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, where I reign and rule in life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: Colossians 1:12-13 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

El-Rufai Suspended For 6 Months By APC Faction

Quote:The crisis in the All Progressive Congress in Kaduna state got messier Sunday as the Restoration faction of the party led by Senator Hunkuyi announced the suspension of the state governor, Nasir El Rufai for six months for his failure to respond to a query issued to him last week Thursday.

El Rufai’s suspension is coming two days after the main faction of the party announced the suspension of Senator Hunkuyi for six months and expelled 28 others.

But addressing a press conference in Kaduna Sunday, the factional chairman of the party, Alhaji Danladi Wada said the failure of El Rufai to respond to the query issued him necessitated the latest action.

“This briefing is sequel to 48 hours ultimatum/query and warning issued to the state governor to explain and defence himself against the allegations leveled against him which he failed to respond.

“The State Working Committee on Saturday 17, February 2018, convened and resolved to consider and to rectify the findings and recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee and the Fact Finding Committee put before it in accordance with the provision of article 21(B) section 3 of the APC constitution and accordingly, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai stands suspended for 6 months from the APC, commencing from 17, February, 2018.”

The group noted that the Presidential Reconciliation Committee led by National leader of the party, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, may hit the rock if El-Rufai refused to admit his faults.

A member of the Restoration faction, Mataimaki Tom-Maiyashi noted the Governor’s body language and action didn’t suggest the willingness to submit to genuine reconciliation.

He said other parties may benefit from the crisis in the party if the APC fails to put its house in order.

:”The Stakeholders welcome the initiatives to settle major issues which a are dividing and weakening the party.

“The real reconciliation will only be achieve if justice and the willingness to take difficult decisions are upheld.

“Stakeholders observed that in Kaduna State at least, the postures and actions if the governor, Nasir el-Rufai, and his associates do not suggest the willingness to submit to genuine reconciliation.

“All suspensions by persons other than those led by the acting chairman of the party, Alhaji Danladi Wada are exercises in futility, null and void.

“The acting chairman should exercise his full powers and conclude disciplinary actions against all members, no matter their positions in the party.”

APC Crisis Deepens: Gang-up Against Oyegun Thickens, As Members Petition EFCC

Quote:By Taiwo Amodu - Abuja

The crisis in the All Progressives Congress, (APC) deepened on Friday with a bloc that wants the embattled national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun out of the office taking his case to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Coming under a group which tagged itself, the “Buhari/APC Anti-Corruption Support Group”, Oyegun’s opponents stormed the EFCC on Friday with a petition accusing the national chairman of corruption.

Saturday Tribune checks revealed that the protest at the EFCC secretariat was part of a well coordinated plot ahead of the meetings of the national caucus and the National Executive Committee fixed for the 26 and 27 February 2018.

A party source further confided in Saturday Tribune that the petition taken to the EFCC was a follow up to a recent protest memo addressed to the national chairman of the party by its six zonal chairmen.

Carrying several placards with the inscriptions, “EFCC Must Prope Oyegun Now!” “Audit APC’s Account Now’’, and “Oyegun is Killing the Anti-Corruption Policy of Buhari,” members of the group asked the anti-graft agency to probe the accounts of the ruling party.

Leader of the group, Ishola Adeshina further alleged that Oyegun had been running the accounts of the party without a recourse to majority of national officers of the party.

Reacting to Friday’s development, the national publicity secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi told Saturday Tribune on the telephone that the national working committee was “not miffed” as he noted that it was within the right of the petitioners to demand for accountability on the finances of the party. He, however, submitted that they were wrong to have engaged in street protests in Abuja.

He said: “I haven’t seen the petition. But if they are asking for a probe of the national working committee, I don’t have any objection. But there is a laid down procedure in the party for demanding for accountability, not street shows.

‘’Whoever has grievances should bring it to the National Executive Committee; don’t forget that the national working committee is subordinate to NEC. There is a NEC meeting slated for 27th of this month, let them bring it (the petition) to NEC and it will be discussed, accordingly—not by precipitating violence.’’

The anti-Oyegun camp had lost out last October as members of the NEC passed a vote of confidence in his leadership at the meeting.
In the memo, they accused Chief Oyegun of usurping their functions and of alleged financial misdeeds.

In the petition dated January 17, 2018 the zonal chairmen alleged that the income and expenditure of the party had never been brought to the consideration and approval of the NWC. The chairmen further argued that ‘’issues about the finances of the party, have been shrouded in secrecy, saying “Article 14b (iii) of the party’s constitution on finances has been grossly abused since the inception of this body. The state of the financial affairs of the party is shrouded in secrecy and lacking in transparency such that it makes it virtually impossible for members of the National Working Committee to authoritatively defend the various expenditure and incomes.”

Those who signed the petition were Chief Pius Akinyelure (South-west), Comrade Mustapha Salihu (North-east), Alhaji Zakari Idde (North Central), Inuwa Abdulkadir (North-west), Hon. Emma Eneukwu (South-east) and Ntufam Hilliard Eta (South-south).

Yusuf Usman In N10 Billion Unauthorized Withdrawal Scandal
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-18-2018, 07:27 PM - No Replies

Professor Yusuf Usman, recently reinstated as Executive Secretary (ES) of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), is suspected to have been involved in the unauthorized withdrawal of N10billion from the funds contributed by enrollees in the scheme. According to documents obtained by SaharaReporters, the funds, kept in the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account (TSA), were withdrawn in two installments. The funds are made up of the 10 percent medical allowance due to federal civil servants.

The deductions were stopped in 2006, with the funds handed over to the NHIS to use in providing health insurance coverage to federal civil servants.

Documents obtained by SaharaReporters showed that the first withdrawal of N5billion was made on December 28 2016, a few months after Professor Usman assumed office as Executive Secretary. Sources in the NHIS said he made out as though he was ready to get the withdrawal reversed, but ended up not doing so.

The second withdrawal, also of N5 billion, was made on January 28 2018. Sources alleged that the second withdrawal had the imprimatur of cabal around President Muhammadu Buhari, abetted by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Finance and Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

Last December, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the reinstatement to office of Professor Usman despite his indictment by a ministerial investigative panel for a welter of corruption allegations and subsequent suspension from as approved by Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President, who was acting President when President Buhari was hospitalized in the UK.

Sources reckoned that Professor Usman was reinstated purposely because he is needed to conceal the illegal withdrawals and shield members of the cabal around the President. According to the sources, Mr. Attahiru, who functioned as ES, NHIS, when Professor Usman was suspended, questioned the propriety of the withdrawals and requested to know who authorized them. This, they said, was the reason for which Professor Usman was brought back in controversial circumstances on February 7th 2017 to cover up the unprecedented withdrawal.

"Why APC Cannot Govern Nigeria Well" – Jonathan
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-18-2018, 07:25 PM - No Replies

Quote:FORMER President, Goodluck Jonathan, has revealed why the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) cannot govern the country well.

Mr. Jonathan said the ruling party was founded on propaganda hence it could not govern well even after winning the election.

The former president said this on Friday during a meeting with the the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, and members of the party’s National Working Committee at the Jonathan Foundation in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

“Propaganda may help you win election, but it can’t help you govern and that is what the APC has seen in the last 32 months,” a statement from the spokesman of Secondus, Ike Abonyi, quoted the former President as saying.

Jonathan while declaring support for the amended electoral sequence by the National Assembly, advised APC to abide by the decision of the legislative chambers.

He also advised the ruling party to see the proposed order of elections “from national and patriotic interests since laws are not meant for persons in power at a particular time.”

“Holding presidential election first will affect the quality of persons that will emerge in other polls because of the bandwagon effect,” Jonathan said, adding that the decision of the Assembly will help in the election of quality persons into various positions.

He said he is even looking forward to a time when presidential elections in Nigeria will be conducted differently from the others just as he was equally optimistic that the PDP will return to power in 2019.

“I believe that the PDP will return to power in 2019, if we continue to build confidence, especially as the ruling party has failed to meet up their promises and give hope to the people.

Secondus had earlier briefed the former President on the activities of the NWC since December when they were elected into office.

He said the new leadership is currently engaged in a number of activities aimed at rebranding and repositioning the party with a view to regaining power in 2019.

He pleaded for Jonathan’s support and that of other leaders of the party.

He said the focus of the party is on youths and women, pointing out that the leadership will soon come up with a new programme on Generational Next.

Why Fulani Herdsmen Kill - Ango Abdullahi Says
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 02-18-2018, 07:16 PM - No Replies

Quote:A former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, and spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Prof. Ango Abdullahi has vehemently defended the incessant killings by Fulani herdsmen across the country.

Abdullahi also said that the herdsmen menace is politically motivated by the South to disrupt the politically united North ahead of the 2019 general elections, adding that this was how Boko Haram was introduced during Goodluck Jonathan’s government which led to his failure in the 2015 polls.

Justifying the killings, the Professor said that the herdsmen are killing members of their host communities in order to defend themselves, adding that the herders were free to take the cattle to any part of the country the same way an Igbo man does his business.

In a strong worded interview with Vanguard, Abdullahi said, “I have been involved in debates against some respected people from the southern part of this country who believe that this country is not balanced because the North is too big; because the North is too politically united, so there must be a way of disrupting this unity, and this is what we are seeing on ground today, and the elements that are being used are the Fulani herdsmen.

“This matter would be looked at properly; political alliances and so on are welcome. You don’t need to lose blood, or property to engage in political alliance or whatever you want, or still, you don’t need to introduce excuses that will lead to loss of lives. We saw this when the Boko Haram was on ground; they said northerners created the sect to disrupt former President Goodluck Jonathan’s government, which led to his failure in the last election, and so on.

“Now that Boko Haram is out of the way, the new excuse is the Fulani herdsmen. This is what is happening in other places except in areas that you are talking.

“We have seen what they called a new handshake across the Niger; it is political, and we have seen the mourning that has taken place in Benue and other places to show that the monolithic North is not in tandem with the Middle Belt; it is all politics. Our Middle Belters don’t need to take the agenda that appears to be a thing of distrust. We are not going to force anybody into a relationship politically or otherwise. We see this as a political agenda.

Asked if herdsmen are not the ones committing the murders, he added, “The truth is, if you want to kill me and I have a chance first, I will kill you, or you do want people to be killed and not defend themselves? By your reporting, you have denied them justice and government also has denied them justice by not going to arrest those that are killing them. So, they defend themselves.

On the herdsmen that kidnapped, raided and Chief Olu Falae’s farm ablaze, he said, “My uncle was kidnapped last week in Kaduna, my cousin’s children were also kidnapped and they had to go and find N2.5 million to pay. Why is Olu Falae case different?

“Because he was Secretary to the Federal Government? He is a Nigerian just like my uncle and my cousin whose children were kidnapped. The right of every citizen is important under the law. Why is he so special?

“What about the impunity of the people killing herdsmen? The herdsmen in Nigeria are reacting to the injustice meted out daily to them?

“You people, you Nigerians, including you who are biased, who are not prepared to protect the rights and interests of herdsmen. They are killed but not reported, that is not acceptable.

“Herdsmen operate in these places you mentioned because the country has denied them the traditional routes which the British created for them IN 1914 when they occupied this country because they realised that, like cars require tracks, herdsmen also require tracks they can use to graze and drink water.

“The British provided it for them and gazetted it but people have denied them these routes. So, where do you expect the animals to follow? They have to follow somewhere and the easy road is the one other people are using. We are all living in Nigeria.

Asked if he was trying to justify the menace of herdsmen, he maintained, “I am justifying it very strongly because herdsmen are being unjustly treated in this country.

“They are businessmen just like the farmers whose crops are being destroyed. They should invest in their business; buy ranches like the farmers bought their parcels of land.

They are businessmen. If an Igbo man could go to my state and set up a shop, why shouldn’t herdsmen operate elsewhere? Or are you the one who planted the grass the animals are feeding on? Are you the one who created the water they drink?

“The land belongs to Nigerians and herdsmen are Nigerians. If an Igbo man can go to the North and set up a business, why won’t herdsmen go to the South, including your village, to graze their cattle?

“Where we come from, you don’t pay for land, you only ask for permission to use it. That is why I said you people are biased against other people and that is why the peace of this country will be very difficult.”

  Herdsmen Attacks Sweep Through South-West
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion

…Herdsmen attacks sweep through South-West By Dayo Johnson – Regional Editor, South-West, Gbenga Olarinoye – Oshogbo, Ola Ajayi – lbadan, Daud Olatunji – Abeokuta, Rotimi Ojomoyela – Ado-Ekiti

THE rapacious activities of herdsmen in the South-West have left tales of woes and many persons, including aged farmers, hacked to death on their farms while their wives and female children are not only raped but also butchered and vital body parts carted away. Annoyingly, the families of those murdered on their farms were left to bury their dismembered bodies and made to live with such a bad memory. Also destroyed in the geo-political zone are hundreds of hectares of farmlands and in many cases cash and food crops burnt. Herdsmen are also accused of rampant kidnapping of residents.

Florence attacked by suspected herdsman on her farm in Ondo Farmers are abandoning their farms in droves because of the unending activities of herdsmen who lead their cattle to graze on the farmlands. Notable personalities such as a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Chief Olu Falae, had suffered untold hardship in the hands of suspected herdsmen. His massive farm, located at Ilado in Akure North, Ondo State, has been set ablaze by the assailants many times. He was equally kidnapped in broad daylight while on his farm and spent days in captivity only to be released 96 hours after a ransom of N5million was paid. Whereas seven of his abductors were caught, prosecuted and sentenced to life imprisonment, most of those who attacked other victims were never apprehended not to talk of being brought to justice.

On the recent attack of his farm, Falae had said, “They burn my farm every year so that fresh grass can grow for their cattle to eat. This is the third time they’ll be setting my farm ablaze”. In another act of impunity linked to herdsman in Ondo State, a 28-year-old mother of two, Florence Godday, was attacked by machete wielding herdsman who she claimed nearly raped her on her farm in Igbo Abo, near Osi community in Akure North. Speaking on her ordeal, the woman explained that she was working alone on her farm on the fateful day when the herdsman attacked, gagged her and tore her clothes preparatory to raping her. She narrated that the gag miraculously slipped from her mouth following which she raised the alarm to attract nearby villagers.

The attacker fled but not before dealing her machete blows. “I can’t really explain the motive behind the attack by the herdsman, maybe to kill me or to rape me, but he had removed my wrapper and blouse before I could raise the alarm and he dealt machete blows on me”, Florence said. The husband, a member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Thomas Godday, mobilised and got the suspect arrested but he was later set free by the state Police Command which described him as a scavenger who attempted to sexually abuse the woman and injured her in the process. The police denied that he was a herdsman but a northerner.

A suspected herdsman, who allegedly stabbed a driver, Victor Ajisafe, at Road Block area of Ibadan Garage in Akure South, has not been apprehended almost a month after the incident. Ajisafe was said to have met his untimely death after a minor disagreement between him and the herdsman. The wife of the deceased, Oluwatoyin, said, “We appeal to government and the police to arrest the Fulani herdsman who killed my husband in his prime. He must face the consequences of his action.” Last December, some farmers in Arodoye community in Akure South took time off their farming activities to celebrate Christmas and New Year with their families only to return to discover that their over 200 hectares of farmlands had been attacked by herdsmen whose cattle fed freely on the crops. A 65-year-old woman, Patience Salami, who was met on one of the farmlands by the rampaging herdsmen, was murdered; her body dismembered and parts like the tongue, breasts and private part carted away.

The victims petitioned the state government, security agencies, the state House of Assembly and the state Ministry of Agriculture on the development. They listed some of the farm produce destroyed by the herdsmen to include cassava, cocoa, cocoyam, yam, vegetables while some part of the cocoa farms were set on fire. Speaking on behalf of the farmers, a victim, who is also a judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Michael Owoyemi, traced the genesis of the invasion to December 2016 when some herdsmen harvested most of the farm produce in the community while they were away for Christmas /New Year. He noted that the 2016 attack was small compared to the latest assault. Owoyemi explained that the herdsmen returned last December destroying over 5,000 heaps of cassava in his farm. “They took the advantage of the break and brought their cattle and uprooted all the cassava in my farm to feed their cows”, he said. “The herdsmen are determined to send us farmers out of business in the South-West and unless steps are taken by the authorities, the situation may degenerate to ethnic clashes.

What they have destroyed in a twinkle of an eye is worth millions of Naira” Another victim, Gabriel Ikoja, 68, who claimed to have started farming in the area in 1985, said he never experienced the kind of the latest destruction. “We want to call on the state government to emulate Ekiti by enacting a law to control grazing activities because there is no question about the fact that this is becoming a monster, it is getting dangerous while the audacity is very disturbing.” Debtors “They have turned us to perpetual debtors because some of the tools we use in the farms were procured with bank loans. The herdsmen will just get there and destroy our farmlands. The state government should rise up to help us.” The community head, the Olu of Arodoye, Chief Idowu Ajetumobi Fasuyi, said apart from the destruction of farms, most people had fled the community while those that remained had been living in fear. The Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Agriculture, Mr. Akin Olotu, at a meeting with stakeholders, said there should be a form of identification for cattle rearers and their cattle to distinguish the erring ones in the state.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu also disclosed the determination of the state government to end clashes between herdsmen and farmers in Ondo, saying plans were underway to resuscitate the ranch established by the Chief Obafemi Awolowo administration in Akunnu-Akoko area of the state. 8-year-old attacker Last week however, some herdsman, said to have been led by an 8-year-old herder, sacked Akure South LGA secretariat. The lad had reportedly led his cattle to feed on a vegetable farm at the back of the council secretariat and, when challenged, he drew out a dagger and stabbed the farm manager.

A fight reportedly ensued and the boy wounded but, moments later, several herdsmen emerged with dangerous weapons, invaded the council secretariat, forcing workers to flee in different directions. Some brides and their grooms, who had come to the council’s registry for the solemnisation of the holy matrimony, also fled on seeing the herdsmen, said to be numbering over 30 and brandishing dangerous weapons. The council boss, Margaret Atere, it was learnt, was ferried out of the council premises by her aides during the incident. For three days thereafter, the workers, out of fear of a reprisal attack, stayed away from work. The state Commissioner of Police, Gbenga Adeyemi, who led his men and the governor’s Special Adviser on Security to the LGA secretariat to assess the situation, tried to play down the incident which he described as a minor disagreement.

Ogun: Death on farmland The situation in Ogun State is not entirely different from Ondo’s. In January, some suspected herdsmen invaded a farm and destroyed N6.8 million worth of produce. The farm is located in Likosi-Alabata village in Papalanto area of Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state and belonging to one Roseline Ogege. Same month, another group of suspected herdsmen reportedly attacked two female primary school teachers in Onigbedu area of Ewekoro LGA while a farmer was killed on his farmland at Afon in Imeko-Afon LGA in an incident blamed on herdsmen. Both incidents occurred after the state government took measures to prevent clashes between herdsmen and farmers and to ensure safety of lives and property and the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, convened a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the clashes.

The government said the herdsmen attacks affected Yewa North,Obafemi-Owode,Odeda and Ijebu-Ode LGA among others. The Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, who spoke on behalf of the state government, said Yewa North was hardest hit. He, however, vowed that government will invoke the recently passed anti-land grabbing law in Ogun to curtail herdsmen/farmers clashes. Oyo: One killed, hunters deployed Since the latest killing of a farmer in Iseyin by suspected herdsmen, the Yoruba farmers group, Agbekoya, has deployed hunters to areas that appear to be flashpoints. The strained relationship between herders in the state and farmers dates back to many years ago. According to a chieftain of Agbekoya, the influx of herders into Yorubaland was not considered a threat due to the hospitable nature of the people. But as the number of herders grew, trouble started as their cattle increased in number and needed more grazing fields. This informed their movement away from their grazing routes to destroy farmlands.

The people of Oke Ogun area of Oyo State are worst-hit. There is hardly a week that there is no issue between Saki residents and herders. It was gathered that the population of herdsmen has now surpassed that of natives. One of battered victims In a meeting convened by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude, he appealed to both parties to live together in peace. Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s representative at the meeting, Mr Segun Abolarinwa, said the peace enjoyed in the state was as a result of the collective efforts of government and security agencies. He said, “We don’t want a repeat of attacks that engulfed states like Taraba, Benue, Enugu and Yobe here in Oyo. We have been living together in peace for several years.

Robbery attacks and violent activities of members of NURTW have stopped and we don’t want anything to rupture the peace. If there is trouble in Nigeria, with the population of about 170 million, where do we run to? EKITI: Despite law, pregnant woman, one other killed In Ekiti State, the anti- open grazing law enacted by the Governor Ayodele Fayose-led government, which initially curtailed the nefarious activities of herdsmen in the state, now appears dormant, especially in the face of current killings allegedly perpetrated by herdsmen. The law, titled, “Prohibition of Cattle and Other Ruminants Grazing in Ekiti, 2016,” criminalises grazing in some places within the state and outside certain period in the day. It also prohibited carriage of any kind of weapon by herdsmen. Aside the legal measures against killer herdsmen, local hunters of border communities across the state have been mobilised and empowered with vehicles and funds by Governor Fayose to tackle them. However, in the last two months, several killings and destruction of farmlands have been recorded across Ekiti. In January, a pregnant Tiv woman was hacked to death in a farm settlement located in Orin-Ekiti in Ido/Osi LGA by people referred to as “Bororo herdsmen”. A former Chairman of the LGA, Prince Sanmi Olubummo, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that another victim of the attack was receiving treatment in hospital.

It was gathered that the incident was a reprisal attack. A particular herdsman was said to have been attacked by a group of Tiv natives who were enraged at the damaged done to their farmlands by the cattle of some herdsmen and immediately launched an attack on the cattle. Some weeks ago, another group of suspected herdsmen struck again, hacking to death a father of two, Olayemi Tunde, in Ipao area of Ikole LGA. Olayemi, a motorcyclist, was reportedly killed while returning from his farm. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the deceased had gone to his farm to harvest cassava when he met his untimely death. Following the killings, a security meeting was called by Fayose who proposed that the Ekiti anti-grazing law should be amended in such a way to earn the confidence of herdsmen. The governor said the amendment would provide one year jail term for anyone who kills herdsmen’s cattle, as well as provision of compensation for affected herdsmen. He promised to set up a panel to investigate the root cause of the Ipao attack.

OSUN: 100 acres of farmlands, crops worth hundreds of millions lost In Osun State, there are claims that herdsmen recently attacked two villages and destroyed farmlands worth hundreds of millions of naira. The villages were identified as Oki and Uro in Obokun East LGA. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the attacks occurred on January 20. One of the affected farmers, Prince Patrick Olaniyan, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration of The Polytechnic, Imesi- Ile, confirmed that he lost over three hundred thousand worth of crops to the attack. Another victim, Prince Samuel Ajiboye, said his plantain farm was destroyed.

The farm, sited on five acres of land, was, according to him, cleared of the plantain by the cows of the herders before day break. He claimed to have spent over one million naira on the enterprise before the incident. In the case of Pa Joseph Osundare, another staff of the polytechnic, the cassava planted on his two acres of land in Uro and estimated at about five hundred thousand naira was eaten up by the herdsmen’s cattle About 100 acres of mangoes, pineapple, plantain plantations and cassava farms were also reportedly set ablaze in Esa Oke area of Obokun East LCDA) by suspected herdsmen. Some of the farmers, who spoke to our correspondent, put the cost of their economic crops at hundreds of millions of Naira.

They called on the state government, which leased the farmlands to them at Esa Oke Farm Settlement, to come to their rescue. One of the victims, Mr Sola Obembe, said, “On January 26, our farms were set ablaze by herdsmen and over 100 acres of farmland were burnt with economic trees valued at hundreds of millions of Naira. “Also in Ikoyi town, we had a trial farm of tomato and cucumber of about 200 acres which was also set ablaze. The fire started around 5.30 pm and spread quickly as we have plastic mulch and drop lines all over. Fortunately, some of our workers who live close were still around and they tackled the blaze”.

Osun State Commissioner for Special Duties, who doubles as the Chairman of the Peaceful Co-Existence between herders and farmers in the state, Mr Oguntola Mudsiru Toogun, confirmed the attacks but said about 29 farmers affected at Esa Oke had been paid compensation by the erring herders. He said government was taking proactive measure to foster peace and harmony in the state, assuring that efforts were on-going to sustain peace and avert any clash between farmers and herders.

Mr Oni who boarded the flight with a supposed identity card of HB Company is a resident of Green Valley GRA.
Speaking while Mr Oni was being interviewed, another passenger who identified himself as the chairman of the Green Valley Estate GRA,where the suspect lives, promised to make sure that the suspect is brought to book.

APC Reconciliation: Tinubu Meets Saraki and Kwankwaso
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 02-18-2018, 02:28 PM - No Replies

The ruling All Progressives Congress’ efforts at facilitating reconciliation among feuding members began earnestly at the weekend with consultative visits to key members by the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, heads a consultation, reconciliation, and confidence-building committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari on February 6 in an attempt to foster unity in APC.
Tinubu was said to have promised to use the next 10 days to consult with party leaders over his assignment and, then, constitute a full reconciliation team at the end of the consultations. Last Thursday in Abuja, he held separate meetings with Senate President Bukola Saraki and former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, who is now senator for Kano Central.
THISDAY gathered from a reliable source, who was privy to the meetings, that Tinubu first visited Kwankwaso and they held discussions for about two hours, before he left for Saraki’s official residence, where they met till late hours of Thursday. The source said the main subject of the two meetings was how to settle the differences between the party leaders and reunify political forces ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Although the outcome of the meetings was not publicised, it was learnt that Tinubu, Kwankwaso and Saraki agreed in principle to pursue peace and dialogue as a means of strengthening the party.
Kwankwaso had come second, after Buhari, at the APC presidential primary ahead of the 2015 general election, and it was widely believed that Tinubu’s support for Buhari was what cost the former Kano State governor the presidential ticket.
It was also learnt that the former Lagos State governor had prioritised efforts to mend relations with his own political enemies in the party as a first step towards the badly needed reconciliation among APC members.
During a recent meeting with the National Working Committee, one of the members was alleged to have suggested that in order to engender trust and confidence, it was better for Tinubu to first reconcile with those he had issues with.
“Tinubu requested to be provided with a dossier of all areas of cracks within the party, including what the problems were and the level of reconciliation so far achieved,” the source added.
Tinubu, the source said, agreed with the suggestion of the NWC member and explained that he had already embarked on fence-mending measures with his kinsmen in the South-west, where a stakeholders’ meeting was held, with most of the leaders in attendance. Though the stakeholders’ meeting was held a year ago, it was attended by Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Solid Minerals Kayode Fayemi, governors elected on the APC platform in the zone, and other party chieftains. Tinubu had come out to seek settlement with those he had difference with.
THISDAY gathered that the APC South-west stakeholders’ meeting held in Ibadan was a full and frank discussion, where members vented their grouses and sought reconciliation.
Last Thursday’s meeting with Saraki was seen as an attempt to not only resolve longstanding supremacy battles between some members of the National Assembly and their governors, but to also restore good relations between the former governor and the senate president. Tinubu had fiercely opposed Saraki’s emergence as senate president in 2015 and the frosty relationship between them had subsequently manifested in a serial rejection of principal officer nominees favoured by the APC national leader.

Why Most Northern Elites Cannot Speak Against Killings – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central has revealed why Northern elders are quiet on the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians in the North.
The lawmaker who has continued to voice out on the killings of Nigerians in different parts of the country said most political elites from the North were quiet just to avoid being tagged or labelled, ”anti Buhari or anti federal government.”
Sani said with their continuous silence, the elites have succeeded in saving their neck while the neck of the masses are massacred.
He wrote on Facebook, ”Most political elites from northern Nigeria are not loudly speaking out against the mass murder going on in northern Nigeria, perpetrated by Bandits, armed Herdsmen or organised Criminal gangs out of fear that they may be tagged or labelled as anti Federal Government or Anti President.
”The elites save their necks by their silence and the necks of the masses are continuously slaughtered.”

HOW TO CURE HIGH URIC ACID
User Avatar Forum: Health Wise

How to Cure High Uric Acid

Uric acid is waste produced when the body breaks down substances, such as purine, from foods. MayoClinic.com indicates that uric acid is normally carried in the blood, passed through the kidneys and excreted in urine. Hyperuricemia, or high levels of uric acid, occurs when excess uric acid concentrates in the blood. Several factors contribute to the development of high uric acid such as high levels of nitrogen-containing compounds, or purines, which accumulate faster than they can be eliminated, poorly functioning kidneys and pre-existing medical conditions. Symptoms of hyperuricemia include fatigue, joint inflammation such as gout, or the formation of kidney stones. Dietary changes can aid in curing high uric acid. However, in the event of disturbing symptoms, consult your physician to test uric acid levels and determine the best treatment for the underlying cause of hyperuricemia.

STEP 1
Drink more water and less caffeine or alcohol. MayoClinic.com notes that high uric acid concentrations can result from excessive use of alcohol and caffeine. Alcohol and caffeine promote purine production, which contributes to increased uric acid in the blood. Drinking citrus drinks, such as lemonade or orange juice, can reduce uric acid levels in the event of kidney stones from these sources; however, consult with a physician to determine the type of stone formed. The National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse suggests drinking plenty of water to flush uric acid and prevent uric acid stone formation.
STEP 2
Stop eating purine loaded animal proteins. Purines are natural substances found in most foods, which break down in the body to form uric acid. A small amount of foods contain high concentrations of purines such as organ meats, herring and sardines. The George Mateljan Foundation notes that high purines levels are also found in anchovies, bacon and asparagus.
STEP 3
Eat a diet low in sodium and processed foods. Salt is made of sodium and excess consumption of sodium carries the risk of causing a rise in uric acid and oxalate, leading to kidney stone formation, notes the Cleveland Clinic. MedlinePlus indicates that following a healthy diet plan such as Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, or DASH diet, has the added benefit of reducing or preventing high uric acid levels. The DASH diet emphasizes healthier eating, low sodium and consumption of fresh foods to prevent purine accumulation.
STEP 4
Take medications as directed. In the event that you require medications for high levels of uric acid, follow the physician prescribed directions. Uricosuric drugs with sodium bicarbonate, block the reabsorption of urate to prevent increased uric acid levels, notes Chemocare.
TIPS
Foods low in purine include milk, lettuce and green vegetables.
WARNINGS
Supplements containing vitamin C or D can increase the risk of kidney stone formation and raise uric acid levels, according to the National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse.

Husband Catches His Wife & Lover Having Sex In Zimbabwe
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories

Quote:Gibson Mhaka

THERE was a dramatic spectacle in Hwange’s Mpumalanga suburb when a husband caught his wife allegedly romping with a lover after he reportedly ambushed them following a tip-off from neighbours.

It is reported that Thabani Mudimba working in Mhondoro got the shock of his life when he walked in on his wife Yabani Mudimba (Nee Nyoni) in a midnight sex romp with her long time lover George Nyakabawo.

The visibly angry Thabani was reportedly in the company of police officers when he found the pair-Nyoni and Nyakabawo – busy like rabbits having sex in the latter’s bedroom.

Speaking to B-Metro, a source close to the couple said Thabani who works in Mhondoro was informed by neighbours that his wife was madly in love with Nyakabawo and that during his absence she was always going to his place for sleep-overs.

Following that tip-off and on the day Thabani caught the two lovebirds Unclad in bed he reportedly lied to his wife that he was going back to Mhondoro before he proceeded to a friend’s place which is close to Nyakabawo’s.

Believing that that her husband had truly gone back to Mhondoro, it is alleged that at around midnight Yabani decided to go to her lover’s place for a sleep–over not knowing that her husband lay in ambush her.

“When she left her house going to Nyakabawo’s place, Yabani didn’t know that her husband was ambushing her at his friend’s place which is also close to that of her lover. When she arrived at Nyakabawo’s house, some neighbours who were also monitoring her quickly alerted Thabani.

“Thabani in a bid to have solid witnesses to the two lovebirds’ shenanigans, he quickly went and collected two police officers who accompanied him to Nyakabawo’s house where upon storming it they found the pair Unclad in bed,” said the source.

After being busted, the red-faced lovebirds who were nervously shaking reportedly asked for forgiveness confessing that they had been doing it for a long time and that they had also on several occasions gone to Victoria-Falls for picnics.

The source said following the disturbing incident, Thabani who seems not to have it to forgive is reportedly in the process of filing for divorce. He had also sued Nyakabawo for adultery damages destroying his marriage.

When contacted for comment, a seemingly distraught Thabani could neither confirm nor deny the incident.

“I cannot comment on the issue now. I can only do that when we have resolved it,” he said.

Yabani could not, however, be reached for comment as her mobile phone was unreachable.

Plane Forced To Make Emergency Landing After Passenger Refused To Stop Farting (
User Avatar Forum: Travel/Aviation
Posted by: Edoman - 02-18-2018, 01:29 PM - No Replies

A Dutch pilot was reportedly forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger's refusal to stop farting sparked a mid-air fight.

Transavia Airlines flight HV6902 was headed to Amsterdam from Dubai when the pilot brought the plane down in Vienna, telling authorities the passengers were on a rampage, Mirror.co.uk reports.

The source of the anger was an elderly man who was noisily passing wind and refused to stop when disturbed passengers asked him to.

Even the pilot became involved and asked the man to restrain himself but he refused.

A fight then broke out, forcing the pilot to land the plane and have the assailants removed from the plane.

Four people who were seated near the man were escorted from the plane in Austria.

One of the removed passengers, 25-year-old Nora Lachhab told De Telegraaf the crew didn't do much to ease the situation.

"It was crazy that we were included, we had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn't do anything," she said.
"All I will say is that the crew were really provocative and stirred things up."
