How long are we going to use our blood to sustain Nigeria’s unity? – Afenifere Renewal Group

The Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) says they are wondering how the southern part of Nigeria will continue to use the blood of its people to keep Nigeria united in the face of relentless herdsmen attacks.

Quote:“How long are we going to continue to use our blood to sustain the unity of this country? At this stage in Nigeria, we must enforce law and order across the board, we cannot continue to sheathe any group from the law when it commits a crime,” the spokesperson for ARG, Yinka Odumakin, said on Sunday while appearing on a programme on Channels TV.
He was reacting to the recent killing of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti on Friday in Kajola near Ore, in Ondo State.
Quote:“It is unfortunate that we have reached a point where human lives are no longer safe in our country. As to what we said about Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, we stand by it that she was murdered and all eyewitnesses’ account so far, indicate to us that she was murdered by herdsmen.
“When you inspect the car in which Funke Olakunrin was killed, you will see that most of the bullets were fired at the side of the car, which suggested some targeting,” Odumakin added.
Also, he accused the Nigeria Police Force of not doing enough to find those behind the killing of Mrs. Olakunrin.  He explained:
Quote:“Until this moment, the way police are very cautious in anything that involves herdsmen. It has been so in this case. The car, in which she was killed, 48 hours ago, is in the compound of Pa Fasoranti.
“We expected that if the police were interested in any investigation, that car will be with them, they will be doing forensics and all.  “In her car, she had money, phones, jewellery and they were all intact. The only person that was abducted from the scene was the driver of her backup car, which as we speak, is still with the abductors.”

Africans think women should only aspire to be a wife' - Efia Odo

Efia Odo has lashed out at Africans who she said think women should only aspire to be wives and nothing else.

Stunned by thoughts of women dressing good or doing photoshoots meaning they are looking for husbands in this part of the world, the Ghanaian actress and media personality stated that a woman may want to look good for herself and not necessarily be looking for the attention of a man.

She tweeted;

Quote:Seems like in this part of the world, a women should only aspire to be a wife, that’s sad. If someone dresses good or does photoshoots it doesn’t mean she’s looking for her husband. Maybe she wanna look good for herself and not necessarily be looking for the attention of a man

Fasten Your Seat Belts – Fayose Tells Nigerians On Unabated Insecurity
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-15-2019, 06:15 PM - No Replies

Quote:Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State, has urged Nigerians to fasten their seat belts over the insecurity ravaging the country.

Mr Fayose gave the advise while reacting to the dead of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, leader of Afenifere, Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group.

Mrs Olakunrin was reportedly killed on Friday, while journeying back to Lagos State from Ondo State, where she went to see her dad.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen came out from the bush to attack the vehicle in which the victim was in, an attempt to escape by reversing the said Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep angered the attackers who opened fire on their target killing the lady.

The rise in insecurity across the country has largely been attributed to herdsmen as arrowheads of the criminal activities, although the pastoralists have been exonerated in the recent killing of Olakunrin.

While herders and farmers clashes is yet to end, kidnappings, killings and other crimes have continued unabated with security agencies failing to bring the culprits to book.

Consoling Mr Fasoranti over the loss of his daughter, the former governor said he had warned Nigerians re-electing President Muhammadu Buhari whose administration winds down in 2023.

“Nigerians, may God save us in this “Next Level” of Killings, Kidnappings, Joblessness, Poverty, Cluelessness and Recession…Fasten your Seat Belts. Remember I warned against Sai Buhari! Mo ke to o!” Mr Fayose said in a tweet on Monday.

“Baba Fasoranti, I sympathise with you and other Nigerians. God will console you,” the politician added.

A small aircraft has crashed in northern Sweden.

The aircraft, a small plane carrying parachutists, crashed in northern Sweden soon after takeoff on Sunday. All nine people aboard were killed.

The accident took place a little after 2 pm local time on Storsandskar island.

According to Swedish media, some of the parachutists were seen trying to jump off the plane just before the crash.

The crashed aircraft was a GippsAero GA8 Airvan, an Australian-made single-engine plane popular with parachutists. The flight took off from Umea airport.

The cause of the crash was not yet known.

The wreckage was found on Storsandskär island, just two kilometres from the airport, in the delta of the Umeå river on Sunday, and an official investigation has been launched by Swedish authorities.

The plane did not carry a black box. As a result, investigators will have to rely on witness statements, an examination of the wreck, and onboard phones and tablets that registered height and position.

The GippsAero GA8 Airvan is a single-engine plane measuring almost nine metres from nose to tail.

It was made in Australia, by a company part of the Mahindra Group.

Bbnaija: Jackye’s Boyfriend, Lami, Slams Ebuka For Putting Her On The Spot
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 07-15-2019, 06:12 PM - No Replies

Big Brother Naija 2019 housemate, Jackye’s boyfriend, Lami has called out BBN host Ebuka for putting his girlfriend on the spot over a conversation she had with a fellow housemate, Khafi, accusing Tacha of ‘witchcraft’ .

Lami who is also Jackye’s social media handler revealed that ‘he woke up to a lot of death threats in Jacky’s inbox all because of how she was put on the spot by Ebuka’.

He wrote:
“Woke up to a lot of death threat in Jacky’s inbox all because of how she was put on the spot by Ebuka For all who watched the show, you’d know that it was Khafi who said she had a dream and Jackye never mentioned Tacha’s name until she was put on the spot by Ebuka to mention names and I am wondering why Kaffy wasn’t also put on the spot. Kaffy and Jackye bonded like sisters and I expected Kaffy to have taken a stand for Jackye on how the conversation started but it’s a game therefore there would be all sorts of betrayal and inner plans. I am sure people who know Jackye personally know what she truly stand for, integrity and truth.
Come to think of it why didn’t WEuka call out Efe when he called Tboss a witch and why didn’t he caution Cee’c when she thrash talked at Tobi? I may not be politically correct with this but in my opinion it was a wrong move from Ebuka who is suppose to be a professional, abi am you dey add the #pepperdem now not the housemates themselves.
Out of all the beautiful convos she has had in the house, he never asked her why her mood was dull and all rather chose to spotlight a conversation that will sharpen narrative towards the person he may be rooting for.
To Ebuka, I don’t know you, I have never met you but please don’t use your own to pour sand sand inside Jackye’s garri and now that you’ve used yours to attract death threats for her while she’s in the house, I hope you’re happy right.

Let it be clear that Jackye never called Tacha a witch and we are very proud she never denied the conversation too rather she took the entire shame and chinned up like a sting lady should. Jackye may not have responded to the question rightly on the spot because she probably didn’t want to put blames on anyone when things go wrong and her name is mentioned but I am sure she’d learn from this event and make proper adjustment hopefully.
I pray for all those sending the death threats to find peace and be happy.

To those that truly love Jackye, May God continue to bless you.
The rest is history. With #teamjakye we stand #bbnaija
I love you Jackye even when the world call you names you’re not and I will be here for you till the end

Airtel Africa loses N148.4b in first week

Airtel Africa Plc lost N148.44 billion in its first week of listing at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

Airtel Africa’s share price dropped by 10.9 per cent to close weekend at N323.50 per share, N39.50 below its IPO price of N363 per share. With a loss of N39.50 per share, Airtel Africa’s market capitalisation depreciated by N148.44 billion.

The NSE last Tuesday listed 3.758 billion ordinary shares of Airtel Africa on its main board at N363 per share, the offer price for the telco’s initial public offering (IPO). It had two weeks ago listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), its primary listing exchange, at 80 pence.

Airtel Africa started trading last Tuesday with a seeming strong enthusiasm, rallying N136.4 billion gain in the five-minute auction period of the trading session. Airtel Africa had risen by the maximum daily allowable percentage change of 10 per cent to close Tuesday at N399.30 per share.

But as trading widened on the telco’s shares, Airtel Africa came under intense sell pressure dropping from N399.30 to close at weekend at N323.50 The telco had a weak start on its first trading day at LSE, dropping by as much as 16 per cent.

Market analysts attributed the reversal to selloff witnessed by Airtel Africa. Analysts said the wide distribution of Airtel Africa through the IPO makes the stock more susceptible to market dynamics, compared with the situation in the immediate week of the listing by introduction of its closest rival, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc.

MTN Nigeria was listed in May 2019 with a market capitalisation of N1.83 trillion, making it the second largest quoted company after Dangote Cement Plc. The listing of MTN Nigeria by way of introduction had triggered a massive rally that market capitalisation of Nigerian equities to a gain of N2.726 trillion in May 2019, one of the two positive months for the Nigerian stock market so far this year. Under listing by introduction, no new shares are allotted and the liquidity and price discovery of the stock depend on the willingness of existing shareholders to sell their shares.

Market analysts had expected wider distribution of Airtel Africa’s shares due to the IPO to moderate the pricing trend compared with MTN Nigeria’s pricing upsurge. MTN Nigeria had sustained a day-on-day maximum allowable gain for many days, setting off a major debate about the propriety of the pricing mechanism. However, the NSE affirmed that the pricing mechanism was in line with established market forces.

The Nation had reported that Nigerian retail investors had used special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to aggregate funds and buy into the Airtel Africa’s IPO. Airtel Africa’s IPO had been restricted to qualified institutional investors and high net worth investors (HNIs) in Nigeria.

Under the rules in Nigeria, a high net worth investor is defined as an individual with net worth of at least N300 million excluding automobiles, homes and furniture. This implied that only individuals and institutions with a minimum assessable investment of N300 million could have participated directly in the IPO.

To bypass the restriction, many investment houses created SPVs which were designed to aggregate subscriptions from retail investors. While the arrangements differed slightly, the investment firms used almost similar template for the SPVs, suggesting a sort of industry consensus on the approach to bypass the high net worth restriction.

Under the arrangements, the SPV aggregated demand from retail investors and used its net worth to subscribe to the shares on behalf of the retail investors. Once successful and its account credited with the IPO shares, the investment firm then crossed the shares into the CSCS accounts of the retail investors at the commencement of trading on the NSE.

Nigerian market has substantial retail investors. Latest data from the NSE indicated that domestic retail investors accounted for 42 per cent of total domestic transactions at the Nigerian equities market. The five-month report ended May 31, 2019 showed retail investors led the market in two months.

Airtel Africa, a leading provider of telecoms and mobile money services, is the holding company of Airtel Networks Limited (Airtel Nigeria) and 13 other subsidiaries in Africa – Airtel Congo S.A., Airtel Gabon S.A., Celtel Niger S.A., Airtel Congo RDC S.A. (DRC). Airtel Tanzania Plc, Airtel Networks Zambia Plc, Airtel Networks Kenya Limited, Airtel Tchad S.A., Airtel Madagascar S.A, Airtel Malawi Limited, Airtel Rwanda Limited, Airtel Uganda Limited and Airtel (Seychelles) Limited. Airtel Networks Limited, second largest telecommunication company in Nigeria, accounts for more than one-thirds of the group’s turnover.

Access Bank Plc has given its customers N5.5 billion as rewards under its DiamondXtra reward scheme, a special savings campaign.

Onyekachi John, a businessman and nine others, emerged winners at the May monthly draw of the DiamondXtra Season 11 reward scheme.

DiamondXtra is an interest-yielding hybrid account which allows deposit of both cash and third party cheques. Hybrid means a combination of both savings and current account features. The DiamondXtra reward scheme was launched in 2008.

Head, Consumer Liability Products, Access Bank Plc, Osita Ede explained that the DiamondXtra reward scheme is open to new and existing customers and all a customer needs to do is to visit the nearest Access Bank branch, open a DiamondXtra account and fund it with N5,000.

According to him, the more multiples of N5,000 a customer saves, the higher the chances of winning.

He said the monthly draws, which are scheduled to hold across the six geopolitical zones this season, reaffirms Access Bank’s commitment to financially empower more Nigerians.

Product Manager, DiamondXtra, Access Bank Plc, Chukwuma Agu, noted that the inspiration behind the reward scheme was to encourage customers and Nigerians to save and also get rewarded for saving.

“This is the 11th year of the DiamondXtra reward scheme and we have rewarded over 4,950 customers with N5.5 billion. DiamondXtra is bigger and better now which is why this edition is tagged “Bigger and Better” so we hope to have bigger wins and better the lives of our customers,” Agu said.

Speaking after receiving his prize, John told reporters that he had been a customer of Access Bank for years and had never knew he would emerge winner one day.

“I feel so happy and so excited; I did not even believe I would become a winner in the first place. All I had to do was to top my DiamondXtra savings account which I started with N5000. I want to say a big thank you to Access Bank. As they are stronger and bigger now, I will also encourage other Nigerians to partake in this initiative because whatever they say they will do, they end up making their customers happy,” John said.

Meanwhile, Access Bank has launched a training programme to train female entrepreneurs across Nigeria. The bank, in partnership with She Leads Africa, has concluded the first phase of #SheMeansBusiness, a Facebook programme aimed at empowering female small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on how to leverage digital platforms to drive growth in their businesses.

The training, aimed at scaling up the skills of small business owners to take advantage of the captive market on social media platforms in Nigeria and beyond, kicked off in June and has held in Abuja, Lagos, Enugu and Ibadan with over 500 women business owners in attendance.

Addressing reporters in Abuja during the start of the training series, Executive Director, Retail Banking, Access Bank Plc, Victor Etuokwu, noted that as one of the fastest growing retail banks in Nigeria, Access Bank is always at the forefront of leveraging technology to drive emerging businesses.

According to him, the idea behind the partnership and empowerment programme is to give SME customers an opportunity to expand their access to market and increase their visibility to potential customers.

“There are over two billion people on Facebook globally and over 65 billion WhatsApp messages exchanged globally on a daily basis. With the right knowledge, our customers can showcase their products to large audiences as well as get leads that will take their businesses forward,” Etuokwu said.

He added that the bank intends to actualise its promise as the largest retail bank in Africa to provide not just financial services but also non-financial services knowing that when its customers succeed it will trickle down to it.

Regional and Sales Director, Lagos Mainland, Access Bank Plc, Chigozie Onyeocha, pointed out that the bank has strong interest in SMEs as it believes that if SMEs are well supported, the country’s economy will benefit in return.

“We have millions of SME businesses in Nigeria in this category, employing over 60 million Nigerians; for us, we believe if we support the SME sector right, we will have a better economy.  We actually have a division in the bank that caters to women, and we have opportunities that we expose our female customers to. We have loan facilities for women at a low-interest rate, encouraging them to do their businesses right. Our goal is to have more empowered women which we believe will deliver a better economy, “ Onyeocha said.

Digital Marketing Trainer, She Leads Africa, Adeyemi Adedayo said the programme was specifically designed for women to upscale and boost their businesses with focus on how to use Facebook’s family apps, including Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram.

“We have since recorded remarkable growth in engaging these women and the results derived from these engagements have been very remarkable. The women have responded well so far, and it is encouraging for the trainers. Access Bank has been great in this collective responsibility with She Leads Africa and Facebook to empower in order to have a robust economy,” Adedayo said.

One of the participants and Chief Oxecutive Officer, Easy Flight Travels, Bolanle Alabi, said she learnt how to market products online by locating her audience and giving them direct information.

“Sometimes when you go on Facebook, you do not give the specific details to be able to attract the required audience, I have learnt how to restructure and how to create the right profile,” Alabi said.

The second phase of the Access Bank, Facebook and She Leads Africa training will continue in Abeokuta on July 17; Jos, July 23, and Benin, July 26.

Lekki Pastor anointed and blessed with #3 million by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin

Just as the scriptures says in Galatians 6:1-2 “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”; Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin came to Lekki, Lagos to show love, encouragement and anoint Apostle Chris Omatsola popularly called Lekki pastor whose sex video went viral on social media last year.

The destiny repairer/builder, a grace God has given to Owomowomo 1 has saved thousands of lives, restored many collapsed ministries, and established a strong force of love among his sons and daughter across the globe. The founder of Mercy Television after anointing Omatsola, also blessed him the word of God, the Holy Bible and the sum of #3,000,000 (three million naira) cash, all expenses as regards his marriage to be taken care of by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, support and guardians for his ministry and more.

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin use the opportunity to appeal to other ministers of God to show more love and affection to members as Christ did for all mankind so as the Christ like lifestyle will reflect in us and we will be able to gain more convert for Christ. Psalms 133:1 says “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” as against the hatred, bitterness, apathy and criticism that characterized pastors/ ministers in the house hold of faith!

According to the Jeremiah of our generation, “Alters of satanic powers help each other to grow same with witches and wizards and a cultic but we Christians don’t help one another. If a Christian brother makes a mistake, help him and don’t criticize him. Help carry his cross with him as Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary” he said.

The General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta State, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, along with his evangelical team storm Lagos, Nigeria recently for a 4-day crusade theme: Higher Grace which records unprecedented healings, miracles, salvation and undiluted word of God. The event has come and gone but the memories are for a life time especially for Apostle Chris Omatsola of Zion Wealth Church Lekki, Lagos and other ministers of God facing similar issues.

Igbos can’t be president, Nigeria will be fully Islamized in few years – Former Senate President Adolphus Wabara

Adolphus Wabara, a former Senate President has expressed fear of Nigeria not surviving the next 20 to 30 years, a disintegration he said may not happen unless the country is fully Islamized.

The Abia-born politician and member of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, also claimed that signs of making Nigeria a full Muslim state is already manifesting and President Buhari will not hand over to anyone who is not part of the Fulanization agenda.

Quote:Senator Adolphus Wabara reportedly said “I believe what is happening is an agenda, it’s just that some of us, we are media friendly, but we don’t have easy access to the media to cry out every of your thought or whatever you say and we say things like that, sometimes the journalist will not take them seriously except if it comes from one with the stature of Obasanjo that you just mentioned,” Sun reported.
“I have always been of that opinion anytime I had the opportunity of talking to the press on that particular topic. I have read how Turkey became a Muslim state, 100 per cent, so to speak Muslim state and those signs are manifesting in my great and blessed country called Nigeria.
“I foresee this country as it is today if it survives another 20, 30 years Nigeria will be a mono-religious state, a Muslim state, then Nigeria would have been Islamized and not only being Islamized because if you talk of Islam, you don’t even know where you belong and I will rather say Nigeria would have been Fulanised because even within among the Muslims they are also confused.
“You see many Muslims who will not support what the Fulani’s are doing to us today, so if you talk of Islamization they will disagree with you, so what we are getting is Fulanisation of Nigeria because those who want to Fulanize Nigeria are indeed not true Muslims, they are nomadic Muslims who do not even believe in Islamic teachings neither do they believe in Western education, no wonder President Goodluck Jonathan attempted to bring education, nomadic education to them and what happened, it failed and it has failed till today because they are not interested in any form of education except their cattle, that is what they believe in.
“But the true Muslims of the North believe in Islam and they believe in peaceful co-existence between other religions in the country, but these Fulani people, they are basically not even Nigerians, they are mainly from Mali, Mauritania, etc, so they are territorial, no wonder they are talking of moving their cattle from one end to another and in the process they will Fulanize whatever territory they are.
“So, I foresee and I want to be quoted that the way we are going, if we don’t find a solution to our problems, particularly security-wise Nigeria will become Fulanized in the next couple of years and that is why I deeply regret and I hope anyway that my party, the PDP and specifically Atiku Abubakar will thrive in the tribunal. This is because Nigerians are looking forward to his doctrine of restructuring the country that is the only way we can save Nigeria from Fulanisation.
He also shut down the prospects of having an Igbo President in 2023;
Quote:“The answer is no, if you want a sincere answer from me. You cannot be talking of the Fulanisation of Nigeria and you are thinking of an Igbo president coming in between 2023 for eight years, no. It is a project, Fulanisation of Nigeria is a project and it cannot be interrupted, I hear somebody from the Southwest is hoping to take over in 2023, it doesn’t matter whether he is a Muslim, but the truth of the matter is that he is not a nomadic Fulani, so there is no way power can shift to the South in 2023 and we the Igbo do not have what it takes to fight for it.
“As at today’s Nigeria, we don’t have what it takes to fight for it, where are we? Is it in the security apparatus of the nation? Where is the Igbo man, anything we have achieved or have been achieving is all personal efforts and in some cases community efforts.
“You hear of people stealing billions of naira, how many Igbo people have been mentioned? This is because you have to be where the money is before you can steal it.
“And this money they are using to Fulanize us, it is this money that you use to conduct an election and you know what happens with the election. So, we are not there unless you want to deceive yourself, we will not be there in 2023, mark my word.”

Conjoined twin sisters, 18, who can never be separated because they share a vital art

Conjoined twin sisters, 18, who can never be separated because they share a vital artery defy doctors who 'said they would die by the age of 10'
Twins conjoined at the head who will never be separated are surviving years beyond what doctors predicted.
Neev and Nelly Kolestein, from Amsterdam, have been attached by the backs of their heads for their 18 years of life, but have their own brains and bodies.
Their mother, who does not want to be identified, was told during labour that her babies would be joined at the head.
Medics were convinced the girls would die shortly after birth, and if they survived, it was expected their life would be a struggle before dying around the age of 10.
They are unable to be separated because they share a main artery in the head which keeps them alive, the family said.
But the twins are thriving and admit they would never want to be separated anyway - despite cruel torments throughout their lives.
They've never known any different than what they are used to - such as using a mirror to see each other and watch TV at the same time.
As Craniopagus twins, the girls are a medical phenomenon, representing just two to six percent of conjoined twins worldwide.

Despite only ever seeing each other through a reflection in a mirror (pictured), Neev and Nelly have formed an unbreakable bond and don't know any differentiable
The twins have started their own YouTube channel and Instagram page to raise awareness of their condition and show people how they are much more than just 'the girls with a disability'.
Despite only ever seeing each other through a reflection in a mirror, Neev and Nelly have formed an unbreakable bond.
Nelly said: 'When we were newborns, everyone thought we were going to die.
'But we're here now. We're 18 years old and we're standing firm on our four feet.'
Neev added: 'Our bodies are separate, but we're conjoined by the head.
'Everyone thinks we can reach other's minds. But we can't.
'We have our own thoughts. It means we can both do our own thing, with you know, walking and talking.'
Due to the lack of medical resources where they were born in Suriname, South America, the girls had to move to the Netherlands for more urgent and specialised care.
But despite their parents' wishes, they could not be separated.
The blood supply to their brains is so entangled that attempting to separate them would be deadly.
The twins' sister, Rosianne Kolestein, 24, who works as a care provider and entrepreneur said: 'We moved my sisters to the Netherlands as there was a slight chance to separate them at first.
'That's what our parents wanted, they wanted a better life for them, obviously.
'It wasn't a great time when living in Suriname. People started distancing themselves from our family, they thought it could have been some kind of voodoo.
'But the doctors did more examining and realised it wasn't possible for separation. Their brains are conjoined and they share important blood vessels and veins.
'They have an artery that keeps them alive. If you wanted to separate them, you'd have to cut that. If you do that, you might as well bury them.'
Craniopagus twins can be separated in a series of complicated operations, and there have been a number of cases reported in the media.
However, the risks of separation are so high, and unfortunately it could cause death during or shortly after surgery, as well as brain damage.
Lori and George Schappell, born in 1961, are believed to be the longest-surviving craniopagus twins. They are still joined at the age of 57.

The twins, pictured with their sister Marione (right) and brother Timothy, led a sheltered life because they received a negative reaction from the public
Rosianne said: 'They weren't expected to make it till 10 – now they're 18 and you have to just think "wow".'
When growing up, the girls had to lead a sheltered life due to the public's reaction and having to be careful with their coordination when in uncontrolled environments.
Nelly said: 'We had to be very careful growing up. It was annoying. You want to get out and do your own thing.
'And with our condition, you don't have time to live for tomorrow.'
Rosianne continued: 'We didn't really want to take them outside, because people can be really mean.
'In one instance, we were walking outside and people were asking us questions like "Why didn't your parents terminate the pregnancy?"
'It was really bad. My mother would have people saying "you're just keeping them alive for the money". It's really disrespectful.'
But since the girls turned 16, the family, including other siblings Timothy and Marione, have tried to push them to become more confident.
Rosianne said: 'How I see them, they're just my little sisters and that's how it's always been.
[Image: 15862180-7232163-image-a-9_1562755288501.jpg]
The twins have not been given a life expectancy. Nelly (left) said: 'With our condition, you don't have time to live for tomorrow'
'They have their own personalities for sure. They're very stubborn and you can tell they really want to make their own mark on the world.'
They have started vlogging online to connect with more people around the world and spread awareness about their condition.
Nelly said: 'We have our own YouTube channel so people can get to know us.
'People can hopefully stop staring and find out we are sweet girls. Not just "the girls with a disability".
'It's fun and you can get to meet new people on there. It's nice to know that people don't just respond negatively.'
With their future and life expectancy still uncertain, the conjoined sisters are continuing to study at school, taking one day of their life at a time.
'I'm really proud of them. Really proud,' Rosianne said. 'They've accomplished so much and have grown as people. I think the future can be positive.
'At the moment, they're still in a phase where they have to discover who they are. We'll all let them do that at their own pace.'
Nelly said: 'This is what we're used to now. We wouldn't want to get separated. Even if it was possible, we wouldn't do it.
'As long as we're healthy, that's the most important thing.'

Obasanjo Writes Buhari Again, Warns Him To End Violent Attacks Across Nigeria
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-15-2019, 11:01 AM - No Replies

Quote:Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has written yet another letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, warning that Nigeria is tipping towards a dangerous cliff and only the president could forestall such a looming disaster.
The former Nigerian leader, between 1999 and 2007, said Nigeria has been consumed by violence and ethnic divisions since Mr Buhari assumed office four years ago, in a manner not seen for decades.

In the July 15, 2019 letter, Mr Obasanjo said the world, especially Western countries, has been warning Nigeria against descending into a state of violence because any outbreak would be difficult to contain.

He warned that for Mr Buhari to be able to stop the “smouldering ethnic agitations”, he would have to stop fanning “the embers of hatred, disaffection and violence.”

Herdsmen Stab 49-Year-Old Farmer To Death In Ogun - Vanguard
User Avatar Forum: News

ABEOKUTA—RESIDENTS of Adao community in Alabata area of Odeda Local Government Area in Ogun State were thrown into confusion, yesterday, when two suspected herdsmen reportedly stabbed a 49-year-old farmer, Rafiu Showemimo, to death.

It was gathered that the suspected herdsmen accosted the farmer and stabbed him in the neck on his way back home from the farm at 12noon. It was gathered that a 76- year-old man had, two weeks ago, escaped death after suspected herdsmen cut him in the head with a machete. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, could not be reached as at press time.

However, the Olu of Alabata, Chief Sanusi Waheed, who oversees the affected Adao community, among others, stressed the need for government’s intervention to abort the plans of the youths to foment trouble, adding that the herders had crossed their boundaries. Waheed said: “The herdsmen have crossed their boundaries and we can’t condone them anymore. There is need for urgent intervention of government in the herdsmen problems in this community and country. “We would do all within our powers in communicating our plight to the government.” When Vanguard visited the community, the youths were sighted standing at strategic points in their numbers. They were armed with locally-made guns, cutlasses, charms and other weapons.

Buhari’s Government Has Failed – Wole Soyinka
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-15-2019, 10:57 AM - No Replies

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, says the Federal Government has failed, adding that the government is not capable of solving Nigeria’s problems.

Soyinka lamented the violence caused by herdsmen, the indiscriminate grazing of cattle and the destruction of farmlands

He, therefore, recommended that a National Conference be convened, adding that the Muhammadu Buhari-led government can only make an impact by thinking beyond partisan politics.

Soyinka said this while playing host to some students on his 85th birthday celebration, Channels Television reports.

The playwright said, “The problems of this nation are beyond the solution that can be offered by this government, that’s the first admission; they have to stop thinking in partisan government.

“There has always been a major problem with successive governments. It’s easier on the state level to say that a particular state is definitely doing better than another state. But the central government has failed, that’s my view in the main.

“There is a minimal level which any government which has been elected to power must achieve to be considered a true representative of the people.”

He called for a national summit to address some of the socio-economic and political challenges facing the country, saying that the current challenges are beyond the capacity of the government in power.

Soyinka said more was expected from the government in tackling issues that affect the populace.

He also called for a national conference where all these challenges could be addressed for the good of all, making reference to security threats posed by cattle herders.

The Nobel Laureate added, “Look at what’s happening today with the cattle all over the place, that’s a security issue which should never have reached this level.

“That singular act has resulted in hundreds of people being killed, farms were taken over; it has wiped away a lot of the positive achievements of the government.”

“They need to confront this nation as a habitation of human beings where very serious issues like economy, security, health, even threats of secession come up every day and convoke at the same time, a national conference, what I call an Indaba across all section which we will all meet and debate everything, including the economy of this nation.”

Tinubu's slurred speech and utter nonsense at Pa Fasoranti's home was inconsiderate and insensitive - FFK and Reno Omokri react

Bola Tinubu on Sunday, berated those profiling Fulani herdsmen, over the murder of Funke, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti. He lashed out at those stigmatizing the Fulani herdsmen, after he paid a condolence visit to the family of Fasoranti in Akure, Ondo state capital.

Reacting to allegation that Fulani herdsmen are behind the attack, he said kidnapping is not peculiar to any ethnic group or a particular set of people and also questioned if Evans is also a herdsman.

In seperate reactions, Femi Fani-Kayode and Reno Omokri called out Tinubu. FFK said, 'I listened to Tinubu's slurred speech and utter nonsense at Pa Fasoranti's home. He was inconsiderate and insensitive. He was not there to mourn or commiserate with Pa, he was there to mock him, to pour salt in his wounds, to play politics and to speak for his Fulani masters'.

Reno Omokri on his part said, 'I commend Bola Tinubu for paying a condolence visit to Afenifere leader, Pa Fasoranti, over the killing of his daughter by suspected herdsmen. Sadly, during the visit, Tinubu was more focused on defending herdsmen than on consoling the bereaved'.

Nigeria's cup is full' - Pastor Tunde Bakare blows hot on murder of Afenifere leader's daughter

Pastor Tunde Bakare on Sunday, reacted to the murder of Mrs Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

Alleging that political and security leaders in the country have been playing politics with the lives of the citizens through deliberate inaction, the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly in Lagos recounted how prompt action was taken after the wife of the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor was kidnapped.

Quote:“A few weeks ago here, I called the attention of the nation to the impostors who visited Aso Rock in the name of Afenifere leaders. Now you have killed the daughter of the real Afenifere leader, a 95-year-old man.
“And you think God will overlook these things. Someone who had gone to see her father and returning to her station! I tell you, now, the cup is full,” he said.
He added, “The other day, the wife of the Governor of Central Bank (of Nigeria) was kidnapped; and within a few hours, they did not just rescue the woman, they also arrested those who perpetrated the crime.
“Now, the daughter of Pa Fasoranti has been killed, and we have been hearing only stories, nothing tangible has been achieved.
“If someone desires a thing so seriously and does not know the purpose for such a thing, when he gets it, he won’t achieve anything with it.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY, 15TH JULY.

HE DOESN’T TAKE AWAY BY DEATH

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (1 Corinthians 15:26).

In most religious circles, when funerals are being conducted, it’s common to hear the officiating minister say, “The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the Name of the Lord.” But the Lord doesn’t “take away” by death. He’s the giver or author of life, and death isn’t from Him.

The Bible lets us know that death is an enemy, and refers to it as the last enemy that shall be destroyed. However, it’s already been defeated as the scriptures show us.

God never takes anybody away by death. The only people He took away from this world, He took them alive. Enoch, the Bible says, walked with God and suddenly, he was taken away from the earth by the Spirit of God—alive into heaven (Genesis 5:24). Elijah was also taken away alive (read 2 Kings 2:11).

What about Jesus? He too was taken away alive! And for those who believe in Him, they’re going to be taken away alive. Hallelujah! 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says, “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” This is how God “takes away”; it’s not by death. It’s called a translation.

Moreover, those whom God took away knew ahead of time. Enoch, the Bible says, before his translation, had the testimony that he pleased God. Elijah knew he was to be taken away and he discussed it with Elisha (2 Kings 2:9-11). The Lord Jesus was in a meeting with His disciples, after discussing with them, He levitated (Acts 1:9). He had told them He was going to leave that way.

For the rest of us, we’ll have the same witness in our spirits that our departure is very close, so much so, we’ll be talking about it. There’ll be an urgency in the spirit and we’ll preach the Gospel with greater fervency, compelling men to believe in Jesus Christ. While we’re at it, suddenly, the trumpet will sound, and we’ll all be taken out of this world. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Thank you, precious Father, for you have abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Thank you for granting me eternal life in Christ, by which I live eternally in your presence, and for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Bionatrol CBD Oil

Bionatrol CBD Oil in the event that you choose to attempt Bionatrol CBD Oil, converse with your primary care physician — if for no other explanation than to ensure it won't influence different prescriptions you are taking.Would it be a good idea for one to wholeheartedly believe the equivalencies among Bionatrol CBD Oil and Grapefruit juice? Eg, if grapefruit juice influences the digestion of Omeprazole and I am taking Omeprazole, would it be advisable for me to abstain from adding Bionatrol CBD Oil to the blend?

'Gani Adams Is A Mad Thug Elevated To The Rank Of Nobles' - Maiwada Dan Mallam
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-15-2019, 07:36 AM - No Replies

In an open letter which the hausa journalist Aptly titled GANI ADAMS THREATS SHOULDN’T BE TAKEN LIGHTLY BY THE GOVERNMENT, he blasted Opc Leader who is now also the current Aare Ona Kakanfo, of the entire yoruba land Gani Adams who of recent made some scathing remarks on the north, he also blasted Fani Kayode he is quoted by Viralmula.Com Below

Quote:When I read Gani Adams, leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) threatening that Yoruba race will retaliate the dead of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, leader of Afenifere, I was wondering why the Nigerian Government is always lenient with such reckless responses to issues that are ordinarily resolvable through well established methods.

Translate it into any language, Adams threats were death sentences passed on innocent Nigerians from a particular ethnic group who may face gruesome deaths on the basis of watery assumptions of a mad thug elevated to the rank of nobles for no reason other his ability to co-ordinate and execute mass murders.

Going by the frequency elevated fools like Adams, FFK and Reno Omokri dishes out threats to Nigerians, especially Northerners, one begins to think if the Yorubas are Nigeria’s chosen tribe with legitimate claim to the title for the land christened Nigeria. The tolerance being lavished on the Yoruba is enough to clear any doubt about their “above the law” status. In saner climes thugs like Gani Adams would have been long forgotten, buried six feet under for their atrocities that sent many innocent Nigerians to their early graves. In Nigeria, he’s not only alive and a free man, he’s a celebrity with overblown sense of entitlement.

Google the name of Femi Fani Kayode and all you will get are provocative responses that each on its own could set Nigeria ablaze but for the attitude of his victim-region to turn the other cheek. And this is a fool that when not trying to burn Nigeria, he’s always in court for one charge of corruption or another. And the most annoying thing, I can’t think of a name in Northern Nigeria that could propagate half the venomous lies of Adams or FFK without having a day in his local DSS office. Are these fools above the law? If the Government could keep Col. Sambo Dasuki and Sheikh El-Zakzaky under protective custody for national security, I see no reason why these idiots would not only to be free men but to be free men with penchant for insulting public sensibility.

Adams claimed late Funke Olakonrin was killed by Fulani herdsmen for which he threatened to retaliate. Her driver and maid confessed on video they were attacked by hooded gunmen whose identity they could not verify. Where did Adams sourced his “Fulani herdsmen” version of event? This is worrisome. Even more worrisome were the threats of Adams, a deadly thug with a history of unprecedented violence.

Truly it’s time for those responsible to stop this recklessness. Adams is not only putting the lives of Northerners living in the Southwest at risk. He’s also putting the lives of citizens of the Southwest living in the North at risk. If his brain is so slow to calculate the backlash of any attack on Northerners by his thugs, those responsible to prevent such backlash have the capacity to calculate the bloodshed he’s planning to unleash hence, they shouldn’t wait for this oaf to unleash his deadly agenda before they act.

The Nigeria Customs Service has revealed that six containers of poisonous tomato paste have arrived at the country's seaport from Iran for onward clearance into local markets.

The agency revealed that the tomato paste is branded as Shirin Asal my tomato paste, Sunday Tribune reports.

However, in a move to stop the tomato paste from entering into Nigerian markets, the NCS, in a memo signed by the Deputy Comptroller General Tarrif & Trade to all customs commands, warned that all efforts must be put in place.

According to the internal memo entitled:

“It has been reported that six containers of expired and low quality Iranian tomato paste, Shirin Asal my tomato with brix 20-22 instead of the recommended brix 27-29 have been imported into the country by M.T.V Investment Limited.

“Consumption of the paste is said to be harmful to human health.

‘is Evans A Herdsman?’ — Tinubu Speaks On Murder Of Fasoranti’s Daughter
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-14-2019, 06:44 PM - No Replies

Bola Tinubu, a national of leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says those blaming herdsmen for the death of Funke Olakurin, daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, do not have evidence.

Speaking when he paid a condolence visit to the family of Fasoranti in Akure, Ondo state capital, the APC leader said kidnapping is not peculiar to any ethnic group or a particular set of people.

Asked to react to the allegation that herdsmen were behind the attack, he said: “I am extremely concerned about security but I don’t want stigma. I can go through history of kidnapping and we know how it started, where it all started, there are lot of copycats, how many years ago have we faced insecurity in this country and cases of kidnapping? Is Evans a herdsman?”

Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, suspected kidnapper better known as Evans, was arrested by the police in 2017. He is still under trial.

Nigerian soldiers escorting VIP steal ‘billions’, desert the Nigerian army

The Nigerian army has declared 5 soldiers wanted, after they stole a large amount of cash owned by a ‘VIP’ and deserted the Nigerian army after that.

The incident occurred on July 11, and Premium Times reported that the VIP they were escorting was Hakeem Otiki, the general officer commanding, 8 Division of the Army, based in Sokoto. The soldiers had refused loading the money into a military jet that was supposed to airlift it to Abuja, after they escorted the cash from Sokoto to the Nigerian Army airstrip in Jaji, Kaduna State.  The money was conveyed in a Buffalo gun truck and a white Toyota Hilux truck which Otiki was in.

The five uniformed men that absconded with the money have been identified as Gabriel Oluwaniyi, a corporal; Mohammed Aminu, a corporal; Commander Haruna, a lance corporal; Oluji Joshua, a lance corporal; and Hayatudeen Abubakar, a lance corporal. Before being moved to Sokoto after Otiki was transferred to head the 8 Division in March, the soldiers were detailed from the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji, where the robbery victim was once a commander.

Quote:“They also removed all their uniforms and abandoned their rifles in the vehicles at the air strip in Jaji,” a top military source said.
“But after spending a long time handling transactions for them (senior officers) while they (soldiers) remained in penury, they decided to take their destiny into their own hands with the latest opportunity,” another officer confirmed.
Quote:“The soldiers acted in a breach of trust. However, this is the outcome of soldiers seeing huge financial transactions being carried out by their principal but were not taken care of financially themselves. The soldiers have decided to abandon military work in order to settle down with the money.”

The bank accounts of the suspects who allegedly stole billions in cash have been frozen, and their last known locations have been identified with a geolocation equipment following an aggressive manhunt that was launched.

Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria begins investigation into rape allegations against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has commenced investigation into rape allegations against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo

In a letter sent to singer Timi Dakolo last week, the Christian umbrella body said it has constituted a committee to look into circumstances surrounding the allegations levelled against Fatoyinbo by his wife, Busola Dakolo.

According to the letter, the  committee which has Rev. Wilson Badejo as Chairman, with Bishop Vincent Iyawe and Rev. Collins Ilechukwu as members, is tasked with the responsibility to establish the veracity of the claims and recommend appropriate sanctions where necessary.

Reacting to this development, the advocacy group, Not In My Church, which has helped to share the viral stories of survivors and kickstarted a national conversation, has appealed to all those who might have suffered the same fate in the hands of the COZA minister, to come forward and share their stories . The group has promised to provide any victim willing to come forward access to professional counseling.

The advocacy group says it is expected that beyond this committee, the PFN and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) will have a publicly accessible Code of Conduct and a standing committee to review issues of abuse of power leading to different types of abuse in the church. The organization has further made a formal petition the PFN to implement certain strong measures that send a clear signal to the church and to society about the seriousness of sexual violence, and the actions the church will not tolerate under any condition.

Amongst the demands of the group include the following:

Quote:i. The accused steps down from the pulpit for 6 months - 5 years, depending on the gravity of the offense, during which he cannot preach on any other pulpit, or until a conclusion of a legal process.
ii. The accused and their spouse take a leave of absence from the Board of Trustees of the church for as long as they are off the pulpit.
iii. The accused apologizes publicly – specifically to those whose allegations are in the public domain and generally to others that have been sexually abused or otherwise by virtue of their position as a pastor.
iv. The accused enrols in a sexual abuse programme at a globally reputed centre.
v. Sufficient monetary compensation for psychological, medical, legal and economic losses accrued to survivors.

COZA: ‘Stand by your pastor’ – Prophet Abiara advises Church members, tells Biodun Fatoyinbo what to do

 July 14, 2019

Founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Agbala Itura Lagos, Prophet Samuel Abiara, has advised embattled Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) to seek the face of God for restoration.
Abiara said with the help of God, he can overcome the rape accusation against him by celebrity photographer Busola Dakolo.

The Cleric in a statement advised COZA members to however stand by their pastor in this trying times, adding that God is the only judge.
He also warned the accusers to be wary of their utterances, adding that the rape accusation is a dent on the body of Christ.
Abiara said: “Fatoyinbo will overcome if he goes before God and iron things out. I believe God will talk to him and restore him.

“My advice to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo is to go to the presence of God and believe this time will pass, you will overcome.
“To his accusers, I want everybody to be very careful because God is the all- knowing.
“He is the true witness of what actually happened between them. The word of God says we must not judge anybody.

“This issue is not good news at all for the body of Christ. As human being, some people will be rejoicing because of this allegation.
“It is nothing to rejoice about. Indeed it is very sad news for all true ministers of the Gospel.”
“All accusers against the body of Christ and the man of God must be careful not to be judgmental. Let God himself intervene.

“All accusers and those that carry fake news on social media, you must be very careful not to cause havoc in the body of Christ and the ministry of men of God.
“This is not the time to leave the church or abandon the man of God because of the entire allegations against your pastor.
“It is time to bring to memory how his life and ministry has been a blessing to many lives.

“Though it is very cloudy and stormy, I promise that the storm will soon be over. It is good to stand by your Pastor.”

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has reacted to the killing of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
Tinubu, in his condolence letter to the nonagenarian, made revelation involving him and the deceased he described as an amiable and good soul who did and meant no harm to anyone.
He said like her father, “she exemplified the best traits of our people.”
The letter added: “Funke and I shared a happy and close relationship. We regularly exchanged ideas and advice to each other. We could speak to each other freely and honestly because of mutual respect that described our relationship. These talks enriched me. I shall miss them.

“When she experienced an ailment last year, she informed me. I was able to help. Funke’s condition improved.

“Showing her fine personal character and gratitude, Funke wrote the following words to me which I wish to share with you now to illustrate the goodness of her spirit:

“Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate your help. You helped me to get another opportunity to live. Mo dupe. Best regards and with all respect.”
“Not long after, she sent another message: “Just to appreciate you once more. I am here Sir. The treatment is progressing. I am trusting GOD. Thank u for making it possible. Mo dupe Sir. May you continue to grow in His Grace. Amen.”

“I shall always treasure the relationship we had and will hold these messages in remembrance for I see myself as your son who respects and admires you deeply. It is from this wellspring of affection and emotion that I write this letter.

“Unfortunately, some people are eagerly trying to use this tragedy to advance their political agendas. I sincerely regret such behaviour for it is wrong and out of place. It does not well fit the moment. This is a time for consolation and genuine condolence.
“Everyone loves and supports you. I am sure that no effort will be spared in identifying the assailants and bringing them to full justice. I have been assured by government and law enforcement authorities that the perpetrators of this terrible act will be apprehended and face the brunt of the law for what they have committed.

“We have faith that justice will indeed be done. But we must seek more than this. All of us who love you must also work together to honour Funke’s life by taking concrete steps to make sure such attacks do not continue to occur against the innocent and the peaceful.
“I too have lost a precious child. I have a sense of what you are going through. Words are insufficient to express my innermost sentiments at this moment. All I can say is that my fervent prayer is for God to extend His divine hand in order to lend the comfort to you and the Fasoranti and Olakunrin families that only He can provide.

“May the loving and beautiful soul of Funke now and forever more rest gently in the bosom of the Lord. May God give you the strength and solace to carry on.”

Girls are scum" - Ese Walter narrates how her friend called her ex husband to tell him things she told her in confidence

Ese Walter has narrated how a friend called her ex-husband when they were still married to tell him something she told her in confidence and how her husband reacted.

The author shared the story is reaction to Funke Akindele's statement that her friends aren't allowed to call her husband except on his birthday.

Ese Walter, who used to be married to OAP Benny Ark, said she understands where Funke is coming from then went on to share her own story, ending it with, "girls are scum."

She wrote:

Quote:Watched a video of Funke (Jenifa) saying her friend shouldn’t call her husband and it reminded me of that time my friend called my then husband.
Said friend and I had a misunderstanding and her way of getting back to me was to call him and tell him things I had told her when we (me and him) had a fight.
His phone rings (we were watching GOT that day)
He pick up then paused the dvd.
“Hello.”
“Hello, I am *******, Ese’s friend.”
“Ok? Do you want to speak with her?”
“No. I want to talk to you. I need to tell you some of the things she said about you to me.”
“Wait, you want to tell me some of the things my wife said to you, her friend, about me?”
“Yes. And...”
“First of all, how did you get my number? Second, if she said them to you, why do you think you can just call me to tell me? If she wanted to tell me, she is right here and will tell me herself.”
Silence.
“Please don’t call this line again.”
He hung up then told me about the conversation, adding
“When I tell you those internet girls are not your friends, you will say they are nice and they like you. Just see this clown calling my phone to tell me what?”
Now it’s me who was silent.
He kuku press play on the GOT we were watching.
Me to myself - Girls are scum ?

These photos show Abdul Isa, a fourteen year old boy, resident in gangare metropolis of Jos North LGA of Plateau State who was brutally beaten  by his uncle for stealing a neighbor's money summed to be ?3,000.

According to Amama Benedict who shared the story on Instagram, 'the said money was retrieved from him and given back to the owner'.

Quote:In my(@jossybliss) chat with him on his hospital bed where he's receiving treatment, he narrated the incident to me in hausa language.

As a result of his condition, he was not accepted at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital, he was taken to a private hospital where he's being treated.
He has stitches on his face, and swellings as a result of the assault on him.

My question is, why treat this young lad like a hard core criminal when you're meant to be a father to him, seeing he lost his father at a tender age and also without a mother ?

What do you expect of a young boy as Abdul who has not been to school all his life but the street as his favorite spot? I want to call on all relevant authorities to ensure Abdul Isa gets justice for this inhuman act perpetrated on him.
The perpetrator is in custody of the Nigeria Police Force C Division in Jos North LGA of Plateau State. I really commend the effort of the inspector who insists on the boy's healthy recovery and justice for him too.
And to the Doctors and Nurses who are up and about to see Abdul regain himself fully, I say kudos to you all. I feel the pain of this young lad,who was all teary as I conversed with him.

I don't think he deserved this ill treatment meted on him by his uncle, let this serve as deterrence to everyone manhandling children in this manner. If you can't love them and treat them right ,or correct them as ought to, please leave them alone... Do unto them as you would want others to do yo you!

Journalist slumps and dies while dancing at a school's party in Edo

Tragedy struck at the St Maria Goretti Reunion Party in Edo State last Friday July 12th when journalist, Osarugue Eunice, who was at the school's 60th anniversary party, slumped and died while dancing.

Eunice was said to be life of the party as she was proudly showing off her dance moves. She suddenly slumped on a chair and was thought to be taking a rest. However after some minutes, people around her noticed she was not moving nor responding to her name when she was called upon.
A doctor was called and she was rushed to the hospital where she was certified dead on arrival. Facebook user, Uwuma Vincentmba, gave an account of what happened. Read below

Quote:She was said to have been dancing in the school hall then slumped on a chair. Was presumed to be tired but when she did not respond, Doctors were alerted and checked her. No peripheral pulses were palpated. Mis information about her being an asthmatic made the doctors administer pufffs of salbutamol to her via inhaler. When alerted, (smagoga doctors) we met her lying on the ground outside the hall. We stopped the inhaler, could only palpate the left temporal pulse and continued anti shock management and CPR. Then rushed her to the nearest private medical centre opposite the school but they had no oxygen.
Moved her to Central hospital in the hope of getting full complement of resuscitation facilities viz oxygen, defribillator. Upon arrival at central hospital, she was pronounced BID ( brought in dead). No defribillator.
We continued administering CPR on the way to UBTH, in expectation of getting a defribillator. Although a team was at reception to receive her, they confirmed no cardiac activity and also confirmed as bid.
Her corpse was then transferred to Stella Obasanjo Hospital and Morgue.
*Additional history from relative*
She was a known hypertensive, was ill 3months ago, collapsed after an injection administration and was in a coma for one week. Also had severe headaches two weeks ago and lapsed into unconsciousness for 24hours. Her attending Doctor had advised her to do some comprehensive check up and investigations which she postponed. She had severe headache prior to the opening ceremony of the 60th school anniversary.
Diagnosis: *Tentative cause of death is Cardiorespiratory arrest secondary to hemorrhagic stroke/ ruptured aneurysm*.
[7/12, 5:33 PM] Dr Uyi Usoro: *Lessons learnt*
*Regular medical check ups.
*Don't ignore warning signs, subsequent attacks of strokes almost always fatal.
*Proper ventilation while decorating the hall.
*Ambulance for every AGM ceremony.
*CPR training.
*Medical outreach should not be combined with other activities.
*Also food and drinks should be available to avoid hypoglycemic attacks.

Watch videos of her dancing at the party below

Justice Karatu:serap Seeks Probe Of Unfair Treatment
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 07-14-2019, 12:59 PM - No Replies

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has condemned “the harassment, intimidation and unfair treatment of the former acting Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Elizabeth Karatu and called for a probe.

She was reportedly barred from gaining access to her courtroom to deliver certain judgment by an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), who claimed he was acting based on the directive given to him by the management.

SERAP urged the Chairman of the National Judicial Council (NJC) and Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad to: “publicly condemn the unfair treatment of Justice Karatu.

It also urged the acting CJN to urgently refer the matter to appropriate authorities for a prompt, thorough and effective investigation in order to ensure that those responsible for this unlawful act are named and shamed and brought to justice.”

In a video clip, Justice Karatu is heard saying: “I am the most senior judge in this court and I am here to deliver my judgement. Can you imagine? Which management gave you the order? Today is my last day to be here and it is my right to be here. I have come to deliver my judgement. As far as I am concerned, everybody in this court is my junior and I need a courtroom to deliver my judgment.”

SERAP in a statement today by its deputy director Kolawole Oluwadare, said: “Barring Justice Karatu from delivering judgment is an intolerable act of intimidation against the highest judicial authority in Kebbi State at the material time. Regardless of any allegations that may have been levelled against her, it is clear that Justice Karatu has been unfairly treated by the apparently unlawful actions of the Kebbi State governor, Mr Atiku Bagudu and the NSCDC barring her from gaining access to her courtroom to rule on cases.”

According to SERAP, “Barring Justice Karatu from gaining access to her courtroom is entirely incompatible with the sacred principle of judicial independence, and the failure by the authorities to observe important procedural guarantees here is a textbook case of executive rascality. SERAP will vigorously pursue justice in this case, to ensure that this shameful act does not affect the work of other judges or undermine their ability to freely and effectively perform their judicial duties.”

“The NJC should immediately set up a panel to thoroughly and effectively investigate the alleged role played by the new acting Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Suleiman Mohammed Ambursa in the unfair treatment, harassment and intimidation of Justice Karatu, and if there is sufficient and relevant admissible evidence, to ensure appropriate disciplinary measures and sanctions against him.”

“The apparently arbitrary actions by governor Bagudu and the NSCDC also amount to an unlawful interference with Justice Karatu’s private and professional life, contrary to the Nigerian Constitution of 1999 (as amended) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights to which Nigeria is a state party.”

“The Nigerian constitution and these human rights treaties afford legal protection against arbitrary interference by the authorities, including in Kebbi State. The unfair treatment and intimidation of Justice Karatu, apart from being incompatible with the rule of law, has had tangible consequences for her material well-being and her family.”

“Such arbitrary and illegal actions expose judges at both the federal and state levels to political and executive pressure, endangering their independence and impartiality.”

“Under our laws, judges can be removed only in accordance with an objective, independent procedure prescribed by law. Any sanctions or disciplinary procedures for judges must ensure sufficient separation of the judiciary from other branches of State power and provide appropriate guarantees against abuse and misuse of disciplinary measures and sanctions to the detriment of judicial independence.”

“Judges must be free to carry out their professional duties without political interference and must be protected, in law and in practice, from attack, harassment or persecution as they carry out their professional activities.”

“Courts play a major role in the fight against corruption, and ensuring that victims or potential victims of human rights violations obtain effective remedies and protection, that perpetrators of human rights violations are brought to justice.”

“But when judges are unfairly treated, the role of the judicial system to act as check and balance on the other branches of government, ensure that laws of the legislative and the acts of the executive comply with the rule of law, is seriously eroded.”

Last week, a trending video clip showed an official of the NSCDC barring Justice Karatu, from gaining access to a courtroom. The judge, who was billed to retire on July 5, was supposed to rule on cases on July 4, her last day in office. Mrs Karatu, until her retirement, was the most senior judge in Kebbi State judiciary. The civil defence official barricaded the road as he prevented the senior judge and her police orderly from gaining access to the court premises.

Justice Karatu, a Christian, was appointed acting chief judge of Kebbi State in October 2018, following the retirement of the former chief judge, Bala Mairiga, who left the bench the same month. The Kebbi State House of Assembly refused to confirm Mrs Karatu as the substantive CJ after the state governor, Atiku Bagudu, sent her name to the House, for confirmation.

How Leaked Memo Unravel The Mystery Behind INEC’s mysterious Server’
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 07-14-2019, 12:21 PM - No Replies

After several weeks of accusation, counter accusation, as well as denial, a recently leaked memo of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that the commission transmitted voter accreditation data during the 2019 presidential elections from Smart Card Readers (SCR) to a central server, as claimed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The leaked memo, dated March 25, 2019, was signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, and posted on Twitter on Wednesday by a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri.

The electoral body had on February 27, 2019 declared President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the presidential election.

Despite the claim by the commission that Buhari mustered a total of 15,191,847 votes to defeat the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who scored 11,262,978 votes, the opposition party and his candidate headed to court to challenge his victory.

The former vice president and the PDP told the Presidential Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja that he rejected the results citing irregularities, while also claiming that data from the server of INEC revealed that his votes were reduced in 31 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Atiku also claimed that he defeated Buhari with 1,615,302 votes. He said data from INEC server showed that he actually polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari, who had 16,741,430 votes.

To give more credence to his claim, the former vice president also gave the “unique MAC address and Microsoft product ID of the INEC server,” from where he claimed the results were obtained.

According to him, “The servers from which the said figures were derived belongs to the first respondent (INEC). The figures and votes were transmitted to the first respondent’s Presidential Result’s Server 1 and thereafter aggregated in INEC_PRES_RSLT_SRV2019, whose Physical Address or unique Mac Address is 94-57-A5-DC-64-B9 with Microsoft Product ID 00252-7000000000-AA535. The above descriptions are unique to the 1st respondent’s server.”
However, the electoral body argued at the tribunal that it did not transmit results through electronic channels, but used manual collation as stipulated by law.

INEC according to it excerpts filings before the tribunal said, “It does not share information with such an unclassified entity and any information purportedly derived therefrom which does not accord with the result as declared by INEC is not authentic but rather was invented for the purpose. INEC specifically denies the existence of electronic transmission of results and it is unknown to the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).”

But the INEC manual used for the training of ad-hoc staff prior to the elections proved otherwise, because it states in ‘Step 6’ under closing of polls that the Presiding Officer shall “send the number of voters verified from Smart Card Reader to INEC back end server.”

Meanwhile, the recently leaked memo, Oriaran-Anthony directed INEC resident electoral commissioners to provide feedback on challenges experiences during the elections, including failure to transmit voter accreditation data to a server.

She also instructed the Residents Electoral Commission (RECs) to direct their respective heads of department (ICT) to download the list of the polling units without accreditation data for their states from a provided web link.

Oriaran-Anthony stated: “The commission has observed, with deep concerns, the number of smart card readers that do not have data of accredited voters in the just concluded presidential/NASS elections nationwide.

“The total number of SCRs without accreditation data is 4,786 nationwide, which stands at about 4 per cent of the total SCRs deployed for that election. Attached is the chart, showing the PUs not uploaded to the SCR accreditation backend, for each of the states.” “You are please requested to liaise with your Head of Department (HOD) election operations and the electoral officers to provide comments beside each PU, stating why there are no accreditation data.

“The comments should reflect what happened to the SCR or the results of the PU: covering cases where election did not hold, cancellation of PU result, stolen or destroyed SCRs, etc. This should be submitted in both soft and hard copies, latest by Thursday, 28th May, 2019.”

For instance, the chart showed that in Abia state, the total number of Poll Units (Pus) is 2,675; the number of PUs with SCR data is 2,590, number of PU without SCR data is 85, while compliance with SCR usage was 96.8 per cent.
In Ekiti, total number of Poll units is 2,195, the number of PUs with SCR data is 2,194, number of PU without SCR data is 1, while compliance with SCR usage was 100 per cent

In plateau, the total number of PUs is 2,631, the number of PUs with SCR data is 2,506, the number of PUs without SCR data is 125, while compliance with SCR usage was 95.2 per cent
Also, in Kano, the total number of PUs is 8,074, Number of PUs with SCR data is 7,765 number of PU without SCR data is 309, while compliance with SCR usage was 96.2 per cent

In Rivers State, the total number of PUs is 4,442, the number of PUs with SCR data is 3,344, number of PU without SCR data is 1,098, while compliance with SCR usage was 76.3 per cent, making it the least state to have complied to the SCR usage

Besides, a corps member who served in Ibadan, Oyo state and simply identified herself as Adenike told THISDAY that all the results of the 2019 elections were transmitted to the central server. She added that as Assistant Presiding Officer (APO) during the election, her job was to transmit the result electronically.
According to her, “All the results were transmitted. It is the work of APO to transmit results.”

To further prove his case before the tribunal, Atiku had through his counsel said he would present 400 witnesses before the tribunal, with the parties agreeing to workable modalities in the management of time to ensure the petition was dispensed within the 180 days allowed by the Electoral Act.

Based on the agreement, ten days was allotted to the petitioners to open and close their argument, which commenced on July 4 and would expire on July 17.

The witnesses presented by Atiku so far, told the tribunal how thugs of the APC in connivance with security agents chased agents of the petitioners away for INEC to carry out the alleged manipulation of the results. They said in some instances where results submitted from the polling units and wards did not tally, the returning officer had to ask them to go back and correct it, leading to a lot of mutilation and cancellation in most of the results sheets.

Some of the witnesses said that while the security officials had ignored the complaints about the anomalies surrounding the conduct of the election, INEC officials told them to take their complaints and whatever grievances they have to the election tribunal.
Based on the above, a witness from Kaduna State, Major Yahaya Sikko, earlier in his evidence, had told the tribunal that wrong figures were accredited to Buhari and APC making him to refuse to sign the result sheet as required by law.

He told the tribunal that the abnormalities affected the results released by the electoral umpire. The witness said in his presence results were doctored by APC agents with the full backing of security personnel.
Another witness from Kaduna, AbdulRaman Usman, who corroborated the claims of over voting and allocation of results to parties in Kaduna State, said he could not sign Form EC8A because the form was not made available to the agents of the petitioners as required by law.

In his evidence, the Borno State Collation Officer, Nicholas Msheila, said he rejected most results in the 27 local government areas in the state because they were fraudulent.

Though the witness said the results declared by INEC exceeded the number of accredited voters, he could not give the figure of the accredited voters.
Msheila told the five-member tribunal that in all the results tendered in the state, there was evidence of mistake.

“The state collation officer would ask them to go back and reconcile results before returning,” he added.
Also testifying, Adams Ali Sanni admitted that he did not sign results sheets as agents of the petitioners because results were altered in his presence while votes cast for Atiku and PDP were reduced also in his presence.

He alleged that apart from unlawful cancellation of results, PDP agents were chased away by thugs of the APC to allow free falsification of results in favour of Buhari.

A witness from Bauchi State, Yau Yusuf, in attesting to claim of rigging, harassment and intimidation of voters, said election results were torn by a particular agent of the APC in the presence of INEC officials at INEC headquarters in Dass Local Government Area, yet nothing was done.

He added that the results announced by INEC were a reproduced copy while the police took the torn copy with a promise to prosecute the perpetrator.
All the witnesses from Borno stated that the results declared by INEC in Borno State could not have been true because of the issue of insurgency and bomb blast that prevented many people from casting their votes.

Attacking Fatoyinbo because of an unproven allegation made by Busola Dakolo is not proper - FFK

Femi Fani-Kayode has weighed in on the rape allegation levelled against Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Church COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo by wife of the singer Timi Dakolo, Busola.

In an article released this morning titled ''Accuser of the Brethren'', the former Aviation Minister argued that Fatoyinbo should not be thrown under the bus because of a yet to be substantiated allegation levelled against him by Mrs Dakolo. According to FFK, he does not support rape but he would also not support the crucifixion of a man who has not been found guilty of any crime.

The former Minister who says himself and his family worship at COZA sometimes, added that it is an insult for anyone to say members of the church who have chosen to stand by Fatoyinbo until he is proven guilty are under a spell.

Quote:None of us are under any spell. And neither would it be right and proper for us to turn our backs on Fatoyinbo without any solid proof of his wrongdoing other than the blanket allegations of his many accusers'' he stated.

According to FFK, he has been a victim of unsubstantiated, vicious, scurrilious, pernicious and sallacious allegations on numerous occassions over the last 30 years and he knows what it is like to be falsely accused. He went on to say ask Nigerians if they would be quick to assume guilt if it had been their father, husband, son or Pastor that was accused of such a terrible thing?
Quote:Would they not demand to see proof? Would they not at least wait for that proof to be adduced or provided before condemning the accused?

Quote:ACCUSER OF THE BRETHEREN
Permit me to begin by saying that my heart goes out to Mr. Timi Dakolo, a very pleasant and respectful young man who I first met at President Goodluck Jonathan's house two years ago.
We interacted again two weeks ago when we spoke briefly on the phone after the news about the horrendous travails that his beautiful wife Busola was allegedly subjected to by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) 19 years earlier first broke.
I commend his enormous courage and for standing by his wife at this difficult time.
Last week Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) said the following.
"Once a woman accuses you of something, no matter how irrational it is, nobody will listen to you".
Pastor Adeboye may well be right but the question is whether this is a satisfactory state of affairs and whether it is just, fair and proper? Should this be the case in any civilised society? Should it be the case in the Church?
Does this "lynch-mob mentality" not demean and destroy the very fabric of our society and the very foundation of our existence?
Does it not undermine the utility, credibility and power of the Church? Should we not outrightly condemn it and seek to change it rather than espouse and accept it as a given?
Must a man, or indeed a Pastor, live in perpetual fear of the damning and implicative words of an 'accuser of the bretheren' and grave allegations that may well have no basis in rationality or truth?
Does veracity no longer have a place in the land of the living or in the Church? Is the essence and central message of our Christian faith not to show love and to be just and fair to all?
Are we, as Christians, not meant to love even the unlovable? Are we not meant to NEVER judge a matter or condemn a man or a woman without first perusing, exploring, establishing and ascertaining all the relevant facts?
As the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa once said,
"Why is the Body of Christ the only army that shoots it's wounded? Our job is to restore and heal one another".
I go a step further by asking, why are believers always so ready to assume the worst about other believers and crucify them at the drop of a hat?
Why are we always so eager to join hands with unbelievers to defame and destroy our own?
Sometime last year a strange woman falsely accused Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries of illicit and sallacious sexual liasons ahd encounters and many Nigerians assumed that she spoke the truth until the man of God fought back and proved that she was a fraud.
The Jezebel that accused him was eventually put to shame. She even came back to the Church a few months later with her mother and confessed that she had lied on the man of God and that she had been paid to set him up and implicate him.
Just two weeks ago in the wake of the Dakolo/Fatoyinbo storm, another strange woman suddenly crawled out of the sewer and falsely accused Prophet T.B. Joshua of SCOAN of raping her as a child and abducting and kidnapping her for 14 years.
Thankfully in a matter of days SCOAN rose to the occassion, killed the lie, exposed the liar and proved that she was a mentally unstable and worthless creature from the pit of hell.
If the Lord had not been with these two men their respective ministries, reputations and Churches would have been utterly decimated.
The moral of the tale is as follows: never be too quick to judge simply because the accuser is a woman. She could be a legitimate victim of wrongdoing and an angel that has spoken nothing but the truth but on the other hand she could be a lying demon in human flesh and a daughter of the devil that is out to destroy: only God knows the truth.
I do not under any circumstances support or condone rape and I think that it is a beastly, barbaric, cruel and savage act. Every victim of rape deserves nothing but love, sympathy, support and encouragement and every rapist ought to be brought to justice.
There is nothing worse than a Pastor that rapes because he is in a position of immense trust and he has abused the power and influence that he has been given over others.
However before we pass judgement and hang the "offender" we must establish the truth and the facts. As far as I am concerned this has not been done in the case of Dakolo and Fatoyinbo and it may only ever be done if and when the matter goes to court.
Sadly with all that has been said in the media about Fatoyinbo over the last three weeks by some notable leaders and elders of the Body of Christ I am convinced that many in the Nigerian Church would have joined the leaders of Ancient Egypt to condemn and jail the biblical Joseph after he was falsely accused of raping Potipher's wife.
.
Must our reactions to grave, complex, sallacious and unproven allegations always be emotional? Is there not a presumption of innocence under every decent and civilised moral code and indeed under our constitution?
Are we not all entitled to a fair hearing before being condemned in the court of public opinion? Must we always believe the worst about our own even when there is no tangible evidence to prove the allegation other than the uncorroborated evidence of the so-called victim?
I was particularly disturbed by two interventions that were made by two great writers who I have immense respect for. Both of them fired hard shots and delivered powerful body blows to both Biodun and the Body of Christ last week.
The first salvo came from Dr. Reuben Abati, the former Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Guardian Newspaper and the former spokesman to President Goodluck Jonathan. In his tuesday column in Thisday newspaper he went as far as to assert that there was no such thing as "the annointing" anymore and openly denigrated the Pentecostal Church and Pentecostal Pastors.
All that simply because of the unproven and uncorroborated allegations made by Dakolo against Fatoyinbo.
The second salvo came from Mr. Yemi Adebowale, the editor of Saturday Thisday Newspaper who, in his column, said that members of COZA Church must be under some sort of spell for defending and standing by their Pastor.
I am a great admirer of both Abati and Adebowale and most of the time I agree with them on all that they write.
However on this matter I do not share their views. I am a proud member of the Evangelical movement and the Pentecostal Church and I do not think it is right and proper to attempt to undermine the credibility of either simply because of an unproven allegation that has been made by Dakolo.
Even if proven, the criminal actions of a single rogue Pastor surely cannot be enough to legitimately indict or raise questions about the credibility, efficacy, legitimacy and power of the entire Pentecostal Church and Evangelical movement.
It is Fatoyinbo that is, so to speak, on trial here and not the Pentecostal Church. Secondly the assertion that there is no such thing as the annointing in the Pentecostal Church anymore is not only offensive but it is also simply not true.
Not only is the annointing alive and well in the Church of Christ but it also still doing wonders, still breaking yokes, still setting the captives free and still bringing joy, peace, blessings, hope, strength, victories and deliverance to millions.
Again the assertion that COZA members are under a spell is insulting. I worship at COZA from time to time, my dear wife Precious is a full-time member and my son Aragorn was dedicated to the Lord in that Church three years ago.
None of us are under any spell. And neither would it be right and proper for us to turn our backs on Fatoyinbo without any solid proof of his wrongdoing other than the blanket allegations of his many accusers.
I have been the victim of unsubstantiated, vicious, scurrilious, pernicious and sallacious allegations on numerous occassions over the last 30 years and I know what it is like to be falsely accused.
If my loved ones had turned their backs on me and not given me the benefit of the doubt on each of those occassions I would have been lost.
The point is that there must be a certain degree of loyalty displayed by members of the congregation to their Church and Pastors.
If that were not the case the easiest thing in the world to do would be to destroy Churches and scatter the sheep simply by making baseless allegations against the Pastor and the shepherd.
It is Fatoyinbo today but it could be ANYONE else tomorrow.
No-one is too big to be accused and no-one is too big to fall. We must be ready to stand by our own unless and until hard evidence of wrongdoing is provided.
If and when the Pastor's guilt is proved, admitted or established then it becomes a different matter entirely but up until then it is only right and proper for members of his family, congregation and Church to stand by him, show him love and continue to pray for him.
Even when we suspect that a man of God has erred we must always remember that our Lord Jesus Christ saved Peter from drowning in the Sea of Galilee BEFORE publicly rebuking him.
We must save him from drowning first and then we are free to rebuke him publicly. A real father does not first publicly rebuke and then save his son: he must first save his son and then publicly rebuke him.
Sensible and timely was the intervention made by CAN. In a statement signed by the Acting General Secretary of CAN Joseph Bade Daramola, on 7th July 2019, they said, inter alia, that they frowned on the media attacks on the Body of Christ by columnists and commentators alike that have come as a consequence of this whole saga, that they would not impute guilt on any party until they have heard all the facts and seen the evidence, that they would intervene in the matter in an attempt to settle it amicably and that up until then all parties to the conflict should sheath their swords and stop indulging in a media war.
CAN has put the devil to shame. They have also displayed immense wisdom, decency and restraint. They have refused to convict a man based on allegations that are yet to be proved and facts that are yet to be established or corroborated and they have treated this grave matter with the seriousness and gravitas that it deserves.
They have refused to be flippant, petty, partial and judgemental and they have not allowed themselves to be moved by emotion or driven by the lynch-mob mentality that appears to have afflicted most of those that have made public contributions on this matter. Kudos to them!
That, and not the public crucifixtion of Fatoyinbo or the wholesale denigration of the Pentescostal Church and Evangelical movement is surely the way forward.
To the millions of women that have stood by Mrs. Busola Dakolo and expressed outrage about what she claims to have been subjected to, including the First Lady Mrs. Aisha Buhari and other prominent figures, I say that I appreciate your concern and pain.
No-one will hear such a horrendous story and not be torn apart, including yours truly. However I also implore them to pause and think. Would they be so quick to assume guilt if it had been their father, husband, son or Pastor that was accused of such a terrible thing?
Would they not demand to see proof? Would they not at least wait for that proof to be adduced or provided before condemning the accused?
Apart from that I would urge then to channel the same amount of energy as they are putting into this matter to the case of Miss Leah Sharibu who was abducted by Boko Haram over one and a half years ago and who, as Reno Omokri rightly said "is being raped every day".
They can also consider the case of Justice Esther Asabe Karatu, the former Acting Chief Judge of Kebbi state who the Governor of Kebbi refused to confirm as Chief Judge simply because she is a Christian and who was physically barred, humiliated and prevented from entering her own court to deliver a judgement just a few days ago.
They can also take up the terrible case of a young 9 year old girl that was raped by her Imam in a mosque a few weeks ago and for which plenty of evidence and corroboration was adduced.
They can also look into the case of Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo's step-mother who was abducted from her home on the 13th of July even as she was nursing her 11-day old baby! Finally they should consider the case of Mrs. Funke Fasoranti-Olakunrin, the 58 year old daughter of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti and a mother and a grandmother in her own right, who was murdered in cold blood by Fulani herdsmen in the streets of Ore, Ondo state on 12th July 2019.
These helpless female victims of dark and evil men are also worthy of the mass celebrity support, media attention, solidarity marches, protests and demonstrations that are being organised on behalf of Dakolo.
In a these five cases the evidence of evil and wrongdoing abounds and proof of the sheer horror and wickedness that the victims have been subjected to is there for all to see.
In Mrs. Dakolo's case, other than her own verbal account of events, we are yet to see such evidence. May God guide us.

#BBNaija2019: Frodd cries as Esther rejects his relationship proposal (video)

A mild drama played out in the Big Brother Naija House last night, after Esther turned down Frodd’s relationship proposal.

Frodd had in his appeal to Esther, claimed that she has so much control over him and he's got nothing but respect for her which is why he wants an intimate relationship with her. He was heard saying;

Quote:“Hold me down when I want to lose it. Those times I want to throw tantrums tell me to shut up and I'll listen. If anyone says it I won’t listen. You are the only one that can do that. I talk a lot; I need someone to counsel me.”
Responding to his plea, Esther said;

Quote:“I don’t understand what you mean by when you want to lose it. You can find someone else to counsel you; it doesn’t necessarily have to be me.”

However after Frood started crying, Esther added “I will go and bring tissue, please don’t cry before I come back.” She walked out and returned with a tissue for him to wipe his tears, which he took.

The founder of an African-American history museum in Louisiana was found dead in the trunk of a car on Friday night.

According to Baton Rouge Police Department, the body of Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, was found in the trunk of a car parked in the 2300 block of North 20th St, just three miles from where she lived at roughly 3:45 p.m. on Friday, July 12.

The Authorities didn't reveal how she was discovered, and the cause of the 75-year-old’s death is still unknown.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office reportedly will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Roberts-Joseph’s death.

In a Facebook post, police mourned the loss of Roberts-Joseph who they called a “treasure to our community.”
Ms. Sadie was a tireless advocate of peace in the community. We had opportunities to work with her on so many levels … Ms. Sadie is a treasure to our community, she will be missed by BRPD and her loss will be felt in the community she served.”

Roberts-Joseph was a renowned advocate in the Baton Rouge area. She founded the Odell S. Williams Now and Then African American Museum in 2001, where she had been hosting the city's Juneteenth celebration for years. She also founded Community Against Drugs and Violence, a non-profit organization focused in creating a safer environment for children in North Baton Rouge.
