Hospitals - Nigerian Govt Moves to Decrease Waiting Time for Patients
User Avatar Forum: Health Wise
Posted by: trustangel - 09-16-2017, 01:26 AM - No Replies

The Federal Government has been urged to provide adequate medical staff, infrastructure and staff training as part of the strategy to reduce the waiting time a patient spends in the hospital before seeing a doctor.

This advice was given by the Bureau of Public Service Reform, BPSR, on Thursday in Abuja during the handing over of the preliminary report on the findings of the agency on causes of service delay at the hospitals and solutions to resolving such incidents.

The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, while collecting the report commended the team saying the project is timely because the government's major concerns have been how to improve quality care in the health sector.

"We have concerns over the level of trust demonstrated by the public over the health sector and it is worrisome when people leave the country abroad because they believe those ailments cannot be treated in the country," said Mr. Adewole.

The minister said the study is part of a way to build quality healthcare services, trust, and win the hearts and minds of Nigerians.

He added that the collapse of the system over the years has been responsible for the state of health facilities adding that the government is keen on revamping the primary health care services.

Mr. Adewole, however, expressed optimism that there can be a change in all health facilities across the country especially in terms of personnel, referral systems and infrastructural development.

The head of the investigation team and former Director-General of BPSR, Joe Abah, while handing over the findings to the minister said there was a lot to be done in the hospitals to make them functional.

He said the BPSR had rolled out the project to see how to make it easier for patients to see doctors in government hospitals.

According to Mr. Abah, twelve public facilities were used in four states - Enugu, Kano, Lagos and Abuja - for the pilot study to track patients' experiences in the hospitals with a view to enhancing service delivery.

The facilities selected in each state were - one teaching hospital, one general hospital and a specialist hospital.

He said the project was necessary so as to understand the experiences of patients and know how to effect changes that would change the public perception of government hospitals.

Mr. Abah said he noted that an average waiting time it takes a patient to see a doctor in any of the hospitals is three hours, though some patients spend as much as six hours.

He blamed the documentation process, waiting for nurses and waiting to see the doctor as reasons for the delay.

Mr. Abah said there is a need to overhaul activities at the hospitals especially in terms of non-medical staff strength to ease the stress for the patients to see the doctors as this is the key goal of going to the hospitals and any obstacle on the way is considered a delay.

"We need to fix the referral system and most of the infrastructure in the hospitals, the toilets which mostly are non-functional, power outages, comfortable waiting areas, signages to assist patients to know where to go for services and new electronic data capturing equipment to ease documentation processes among others".

The minister also agreed with Mr. Abah's observation saying a good referral system would ease the undue pressure on the secondary and tertiary health system only if the primary is fixed.

Another member of the research team, Ayoola Arowolo, who presented the results from the findings made some recommendations to the government, among which are: setting up a benchmark for appropriate waiting time, guideline plus built-in regular reviews of the balance between the benchmark and outcome. He said this will help monitor the process to know if there has been an improvement.

Lagos Goes Tough On Open Urination
User Avatar Forum: Health Wise
Posted by: trustangel - 09-16-2017, 01:17 AM - No Replies

In its efforts to rid the environment of all infractions, the Lagos State government has arrested five individuals for urinating openly on the streets of Lagos.

The five persons, Bokovou Ettiene, Ajetunmobi James, Adeuga Adetola, Emmanuel Adekola and Ishola Akanbi, were arrested by the Special Adviser to the Governor on the Environment, Mr. Babatunde Hunpe, during his sanitation inspection tour of some local government areas in the state yesterday.

The Special Adviser, who was on tour of Yaba, Mushin, Ojuwoye, Ojuelegba and Ojota areas of the state to ascertain the performance of the sanitation intervention initiative inaugurated to cart away refuse, reiterated the commitment of government to rid the state of all infractions, among which were open urination and defection.

Hunpe, while addressing the people, warned them to desist from such act, stressing that it was mandatory for all petrol stations and eateries in the state to make their toilets available to members of the public whom he urged to always avail such facilities for their convenience, in addition to the public toilets in the state.

"There is no excuse for open urination and defecation as we have public toilets all over the state, while eateries and filling stations are compelled by law to keep their toilets neat and make them available to members of the public," he said.

Upon obtaining the commitment of the apprehended persons, who pledged to henceforth champion the 'no open urination" cause of the state government, Hunpe warned them against such acts in the future, stressing that government would not hesitate to bring the law to bear on anyone who is caught in the act henceforth.

Popstar, Mr. Eazi jetted out of the country, Wednesday, to the East African country of Uganda for #dettyworldtour.

Mr. Eazi announced his trip to Uganda on his Instagram page. He wrote, "It's not a lie! I'm on my way to #Uganda later today!!!! #lifeiseazi #dettyworldtour." His announcement came few hours after he revealed in an interview with Beat FM why he had to dump his lucrative job which paid him about six thousand dollars per month in order to find fulfilment in music.

According to him, his family hated him for leaving his job but love him now since his breakthrough after two first shows in London. "After I came back from Ghana, I got a job in oil and gas in Port Harcourt that paid about six thousand dollars per month but I quit because I was not finding fulfilment in it. I mean it was the same thing every day, the same routine over and over again. The decision to quit the job finally hit me when my boss' wife left him even with all the money he had. After I left my job, I got my Masters degree and with all that qualification, I started selling phones in Computer Village and everyone thought something was wrong with me."

The screen goddess, who recently thrilled movie lovers in her come-back movie, 'Alter Ego' and whose exceptional performance in her just released movie, 'Tribunal', has embarked on yet another movie journey titled 'Shadow Parties', a movie directed by the respected filmmaker, Yemi Amodu.

Omotola Jalade recently met with the brilliant Yemi Amodu to sign the contract of the new movie in Ikeja. There's no doubt that the duo, who are respectively one of the very best in their fields, are cooking something worth seeing.

Dotted with love and inter-communal marriages, "Shadow Parties" encapsulates the endless political intrigues that would later transform into blood business of arms and ammunitions and of course the killings of innocent residents. The movie is an adaptation of the untold stories of communal wars in Nigeria.

From the stables of De Saint Vision Limited production, "Shadow Parties" is written by Yemi Amodu, an astute dramatist, producer and a director. Popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor, a.k.a Mr. Ibu, has said that he is planning to shoot a movie highlighting the evils of xenophobia.

Mr Ibu, told newsmen in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday that majority of the actors would be South Africans while others would be drawn from Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya, Ghana and Botswana.

He said the script of the movie was being written by some gifted writers while planning and pre-production had commenced.

" I have plans to shoot a film on xenophobia. I will use mainly South African actors who will work with others from Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Kenya and Botswana.

" What I want to achieve in the movie is to turn the table around and help in promoting peace on the long run," he said.

Okafor also said that the film would be shot on locations in South Africa, Kenya and Botswana.

" The pre-production is on now. The scripting is also on. When I return to Nigeria, we will meet with the directors and technical crew to discuss the effects of the plot.

" When the plot impacts on our thinking, then we would have achieved something, " he said.

The actor said the next phase would be to visit the concerned countries for auditions to determine those eligible to act in the film.

Okafor said that Nollywood movie industry was still growing and would achieve set targets.

He also said he had done more than 300 movies since his debut in December, 1978.

Nnamdi Kanu goes missing after python dance
User Avatar Forum: Conflicts
Posted by: trustangel - 09-15-2017, 09:38 AM - No Replies

The lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu has alleged that men of the Nigerian Army invaded the home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra on Thursday afternoon.

In a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES, the lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, accused the Nigerian Army of declaring war on Mr. Kanu and "innocent, unarmed and defenceless" supporters of IPOB.

"The Military has declared war on the innocent, unarmed and defenceless civilians. Sporadic shooting is going on in the premises of Nnamdi Kanu now.

"The situation is serious. My client's whereabouts has remained unknown. His entire house has been shattered with bullets and missiles.

"The soldiers had just forcefully gained entrance into his house after shooting for about 40 minutes. His entrance gate was broken and forced open. Their mission is still unknown as every person seen in his house has surrendered, including his aged parents.

"We will avail the world with the pictures of these dastardly acts," Mr. Ejiofor said. The lawyer called on supporters of Biafra to remain calm in the face of what he described as "unprovoked killings."

"In the face of this unprovoked killings, torture, abduction and malicious destruction of property, I still appeal for calm from IPOB members. Just be assured that the entire world is watching. Do not take up arms, continue to conduct yourselves in the most civilized manner you are well known for," Mr. Ejiofor said.

Mr. Ejiofor has repeatedly accused the Nigerian army of plotting to forcefully take down his client, alleging that several members of the IPOB have already been killed by the soldiers.

On Sunday, the lawyer accused the army of attacking IPOB members, 'without provocation' killing several people.

"They had continued to shot sporadically into the air through which assault, about five of his family members were brutally wounded and some unfortunately killed.

"There is no doubt that the present deployment of troops to the South East is to haunt for my client and possibly eliminate him," the statement said.

There has, however, not been any evidence of deaths, although there have been reported injuries to civilians as well as security personnel.

A video footage forwarded to PREMIUM TIMES by Mr. Ejiofor regarding the said killings, indicated that soldiers driving past the neighbourhood of Mr. Kanu's residence in Abia State were being pelted with stones by the IPOB members, who appeared to also be armed with sticks, as seen in the footage, shortly before one of the IPOB members was shot in the leg.

Reacting to the allegations, the Nigerian army denied attacking the agitators without provocation, adding that the presence of soldiers in the area was a continuation of a military exercise in the south-eastern region of the country, tagged: Operation Python Dance 2.

In a similar development, the Nigerian army has vowed to investigate another video footage where some members of IPOB were seen tortured by men alleged to have been military operatives. In a third video seen Thursday evening by PREMIUM TIMES, unclear sounds are heard while a cameraman goes round Mr. Kanu's house, describing what he (the camera man) called 'shootings by soldiers' at the gate of Mr. Kanu's residence.

The army is yet to speak on the current development.

However, the police on Thursday confirmed that suspected IPOB members burnt down a police station and assaulted an officer in Aba, the state's commercial centre.

A dusk to dawn curfew on Aba was extended by the state governor to Friday.

THE LIFE OF VICTORY - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Friday, September 15th .

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

When God raised Jesus from the dead, you were raised together with Him. Now, you’re seated with Him, “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians 1:21).

It makes no difference what happens in this world, you’re more than a conqueror; you’re a success. God has given you a life greater than sickness, disease, failure and death; a life of peace, strength, health and prosperity; the victorious life.

The knowledge of these realities should evidently change the way you talk, walk or act. Don’t ask God to give you peace, strength, health, prosperity or make you a success. These and more are all encapsulated in the glorious life you have in Christ. I’ll give you examples.

First, the Lord Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you....” That means He has become your peace. Secondly, Psalm 27:1 says, “…the LORD is the strength of my life….” Thirdly, He’s made you healthy and strong. Isaiah 33:24 says, “And the inhabitant (of Zion) shall not say, I am sick….”

In addition, He’s given you prosperity. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says, “Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours.” Then Philippians 4:19 tells us, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” That means there’s no lack in your life, for the Lord supplies all your needs. Psalm 1:3 describes you as a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in and out of season; and whatsoever you do shall prosper. What a blessing!

Now that you’re born again, you’re a bundle of success. You belong in God’s Kingdom, His realm of life where you reign victoriously with Christ.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the glorious life in Christ! I walk in righteousness and exercise dominion over devils, sickness, and the negativities of life today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: || Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) ||

|| 2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. ||

# AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 15TH SEPTEMBER.
I affirm that this is the springtime of my life! The Lord has made every favour and earthly blessing come to me in abundance, therefore I always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, am self-sufficient, possessing enough to require no aid or support, and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation. All the forces of life and nature are at my disposal, they work together for my good because I am the King’s kid. I walk in prosperity, victory, and health because I live in God’s Word. I am daily metamorphosed into the image that I see in the Word, as I meditate and yield my mind to the tutelage of the Word. Nothing is impossible with me because I hail from above. I am conscious of my heavenly heritage and walk in the light of who I am; an associate of the God-kind. Glory to God!

  EFCC to Extradite Diezani Alison-Madueke
User Avatar Forum: Crime
Posted by: trustangel - 09-15-2017, 12:57 AM - No Replies

The anti-graft agency, EFCC, on Wednesday confirmed that plans were in place to extradite a former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Several Nigerians have called for her extradition from the UK, after different corruption allegations were levelled against her.

Properties worth billions of Naira linked to her have since been forfeited to the federal government, many permanently.

Speaking on Wednesday while addressing journalists, civic groups and others, the EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, confirmed the moves to extradite Mrs. Alison-Madueke.

"I want you to know that nobody will go unpunished. We are even seeking to extradite Diezani, but investigations are still ongoing," Mr. Magu said.

"We have reached a level where nobody can stop us in the fight against corruption, but we all must realise that we are all stakeholders, and this fight is for the future generation."

He added that all Nigerians must play their roles, "because EFCC can only do its best; but we must support the agency, and the law should take its course, policies should be strengthened, and punishment must be meted out in good time."

Mr. Magu also blamed recent separatist agitations in Nigeria on corruption.

"Every evil that is happening now is caused by corruption: agitations, strikes, whatever. Corruption has chased our good human resources out of the country. It is the duty of this generation to correct the evils caused by corruption."

The anti-graft chief also spoke on corruption among members of his organisation.

"I want you to tell us if there is corruption in the EFCC," he said. "It makes no sense if people are fighting corruption and they are corrupt. So, tell us, don't keep quiet.

  Boko Haram Surrender To Police

According to the statement, the surrender was negotiated on Sunday evening by the intelligence arm of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the police command with the repentant Boko Haram commanders along with their families.Borno State Police Command said on Wednesday that as a result of "Operation Safe Corridor," the counter-terrorism effort of the Nigerian military, two high profile commanders of the Boko Haram militant group have surrendered, along with their families.

In a statement to newsmen in Maiduguri by its public relations officer, DSP Victor Isuku, the command said that 13 civilians were also rescued from suspected kidnappers, with two of the hoodlums dying of injuries received in a gun battle with the police. Two AK-47 rifles were also recovered.

“The 13 rescued victims were formally handed over to the His Excellency, Alhaji Mamman Durkwa, Deputy Governor of Borno state, today at the Government House,” the spokesman said.

He noted that with the unconditional surrender to the police of the terrorists, the efforts of the military had recorded another victory.

According to the statement, the surrender was negotiated on Sunday evening by the intelligence arm of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the police command with the repentant Boko Haram commanders along with their families.

“One Ibrahim Dala (alias Abu Ali), formerly of Kawar Mela ward, Maiduguri, an Amir (commander) of the Mamman Nur faction, along with Audu Mustapha Bukar, 'm' 20yrs and Laminu Mustapha Modu, 'm' 25yrs, all residing at Talala insurgents camp in Sambisa forest, surrendered themselves unconditionally to Borno State police command,” he said.

“Audu Mustapha Bukar and Laminu Mustapha Modu, both of whom are from Ngallamari village, claimed to have been held hostage by the sect sometime ago and [had been] conscripted."

The spokesman named the others as:

(a) Alhaji Ali 'm', 25yrs of Alagarno village

(b) Abubakar Mele 'm', 30yrs of Yasko village

© Modu Umar 'm', 20yrs of Bursum village

(d) Modu Maina 'm', 15yrs of Bursum village

(e) Ali Kolo 'm', 20yrs of Alagarno village

(f) Bintu Abukar 'f', 14yrs of Yasko village

(g) Falmata Abukar 'f', 15yrs of Yasko village

(h) Hauwa Ali 'f' 15yrs of Alagarno village

(i) Husam Ali 'f' 14yrs of Alagarno village.

(j) Mallam Modu 'f' 16yrs of Bursum village.

The group included five children, he added, between the ages of between one and eight years of age.  He said they made useful statements that will assist in the counter-insurgency campaign of the military, and are undergoing preliminary profiling preparatory to transfer to the military.

Of the rescue of the 13, DSP Isuku in another statement attributed that achievement to the efforts of local hunters, recalling that on August 19, the Area Commander in Biu had reported/received (?) a case of abduction of four male and two female children.

“The Command striking unit (SARS) and a team of investigators were promptly dispatched to the area,” he said.  “The said deployment and the use of undercover operatives led to the arrest of 5 persons who made confessional statements and revealed the location where the abducted children were kept.”

He added that on September 8, through community policing partnership and networking, the Command, acting with local hunters and vigilante members dominated the hostage scene near Kumaya village in Buni Yadi area of Yobe state.  Following a gun battle with the hoodlums in the forest lasting about one hour, several rescues and recoveries were made.

In addition to the six children, seven other abducted persons were rescued.

DSP Isuku also said that two members of the search party were injured during the exchange of fire, but are being treated and are in stable condition.

smart move:_edostate government grants 50% cut from traders tax
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: trustangel - 09-14-2017, 10:39 AM - No Replies

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has granted Oredo traders a 50 per cent reduction in the yearly levy as tax waiver after their protest against an increase in the charges.
Mr. Obaseki, who was represented by his deputy, Philip Shaibu, disclosed this on Wednesday in Benin during a meeting to resolve the issue at Government House, Benin.
He assured that the newly Harmonized Local Government Tax and Levies Law would soon be amended to meet international best practices and further address the issues.
Mr. Obaseki said that the state government noted during inspection of the market that the local governments gave an equal tax levy to the traders on the size of the shops.
He said that investigations revealed that most of the original shops had been partitioned into two.
The governor further explained that though the local government acted in accordance with the law, the law also gave powers to the governor to grant tax waiver to last 25 days.
He said that those in half shops were to pay N25,000 while those in full shops would pay N40,000; those in warehouses remained in accordance with the already existing law.
He explained that with the realities on ground, the state government would urgently come up with a review draft bill of the harmonised local government taxes and levies to meet up with international best practices.
Mr. Obaseki, however, called on the traders to go back and prepare their inputs for the review bill and present same to government before sending the bill to the state assembly.
He appealed to the leaders of the traders to explain the situation to their members on the need to take advantage of the tax waiver window with the assurance that the law would be amended to resolve all the issues raised.
The leader of the Coalition of Traders and Artisans, Collins Oheziua, promised to take the message back to their people, but appealed to the government to consider more tax reduction to enable more traders to meet up with the payment.

Labour to go on strike urges Nigerians to stockpile basic necessities
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: trustangel - 09-14-2017, 10:33 AM - No Replies

AHEAD of its planned nationwide strike expected to commence tomorrow, United Labour Congress of Nigeria, ULC, yesterday, in Lagos, urged Nigerians to stockpile foodstuff and other basic necessities that could last them during the duration of the strike as critical sectors of the economy would be affected by the  action.Briefing after a joint meeting of ULC’s National Administrative Committee, NAC, and strike committee, leaders of ULC noted that among critical sectors that would be affected included transportation, petroleum products supplies, power supply and banking and other financial operations.

Addressing journalists on the outcome of meeting, ULC’s President, Mr Joe Ajaero, however, regretted the consequences the planned strike would have on Nigerians, especially the masses, saying it was the belief of the body that these measures would help to “create a nation that is better governed for the benefits of Nigerian workers and Nigerian masses. This course of action, though very painful to us at this time, is the only alternative available to us as we have exhausted all known peaceful processes towards an amicable resolution of the dispute.

“We, therefore, call on all genuine patriots to join hands in solidarity with us to urge the Federal Government and state governors to be kind enough to meet the demands of Nigerian workers and masses.”

It will recalled that the body had earlier issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government as a result of the decision of the Central Working Committee, CWC, meeting of the congress on August 22, which expired September 8, 2017.

He lamented that the Federal Government having responded through the Federal ministry of Labour through a letter with contents that largely failed to adequately address the critical issues raised in ULC’s demands, the appropriate organ of the congress, having deliberated on the letter considered it grossly inadequate in assuaging the fears which drove the decision of the CWC to issue the ultimatum.

He explained that in lieu of this rejection, “CWC ordered an immediate issuance of a 7 – day final strike notice to the federal Government which has already been done and which will expire on Friday, the 15th Day of September. We hope that the federal Government understands the goodwill contained in this 7 days final notice and seizes the opportunity to meet the demands as made on them. In the event of federal Government’s refusal to accommodate these demands we shall be compelled to embark on the proposed strike without further warnings

“ULC urges all Nigerians to therefore take precaution and stock up on basic necessities as the strike will be very effective as we hope to cripple all modes of transportation within the nation; total black out nation-wide; cut-off petroleum products supplies; disrupt banking operations which will make life a bit more difficult for Nigerians. We regret these consequences on all of us but we hope that these measures will help us create a nation that is better governed for the benefits of Nigerian workers and Nigerian masses.”

It will be recalled that the group had earlier demanded “the Federal Government bans the stationing of the Army and Police in our workplaces and factory premises. This will stop employers who are now colluding with the Army and other security agencies from setting up garrisons in our factories for the purposes of intimidating and harassing workers in order to deny them their rights and privileges. The Army and the Police should immediately withdraw their garrisons in the different workplaces where they are currently stationed;

The Government should demand that the Federal Ministry of Labour sets up a task force immediately to carry out factory inspections as most of our factories are death traps;  An immediate review of the Privatisation of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to save Nigerians the agony of suffering under the suffocating darkness which the GENCOs and DISCOs have foisted on the nation.;

The federal government should immediately prevail on AMCON and Barrister Nwaobike (SAN); the receiver manager of Delta Steel Company OvwianAladja who short-paid workers by 75% to quickly rectify it and repay the deficit; The immediate payment of all the arrears of salaries owed Nigerian workers at all levels of Government without exception; The federal Government honours its 2009 agreement with University Lecturers under the umbrella of ASUU quickly and commence negotiations with them on new issues so that our universities will re-open.

The roads leading to all the Petroleum refineries and Depots nation-wide be repaired by the Government to avoid the present carnage of lives, wastage of products and properties on these roads; That the proposed Bill at the National Assembly seeking to control free speech couched under the guise of the Bill against hate speech but has the real intention of protecting the ruling elite from being held accountable by the citizenry. We therefore demand the discontinuance of that obnoxious Bill by whoever sponsored it;

“The withholding of registration certificate of the ULC be stopped and the certificate released forthwith so that the nation’s Industrial Relations clime will be made more inclusive and robust; The immediate inclusion of all representatives of labour in the various committees, Agencies and Directorates of Government and not singling out just one centre for these purposes negating the tenets of the nation’s Laws. Any of such appointments that have been done contrary to this, we demand an immediate reversal; The immediate inauguration of the national minimum wage negotiating committee in line with the above so that it can commence sitting instantly.”

*A LIFE OF EXCELLENCE .*

Thursday, September 14th .
Pastor Chris

_*According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).*_

God has called you to a life of glory and excellence. He’s not trying to do it, He’s already done it. It’s not a promise. “Virtue” in the scripture above means excellence. God didn’t call us to shame; He didn’t call us to pain; He didn’t call us to sickness, reproach, destruction or judgment; He called us to glory and excellence. Your response, therefore, should be, “Thank you, blessed Father, I’m excellent and full of glory! I do excellent things.”

Perhaps you were headed in the direction of shame, there’s a reprogramming taking place in your spirit right now. The Word will propel you from shame, into glory and excellence. Walk in the knowledge of who you are. Inside you is the power of God, His divine ability to rise, increase and prosper; to do excellent things. He has appointed and positioned you to exude excellence. You no longer have to strive for excellence.

You have the responsibility to transform your life from glory to glory; you have the responsibility to manage your mind to produce excellence. That’s what the renewing of your mind is about (Romans 12:2). God expects this of you, because He has put the ability within you. He wants to be glorified through your progress and success; through the excellence of your personality.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, I thank you, for you’ve made my life beautiful, and made me excellent all the way. You’re glorified in and through me today, by my progress and success as a result of your Word at work in me. Thank you for making me the epitome of your righteousness, and vent for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

I affirm that this is the springtime of my life! My cloud is full, and I am experiencing an outpouring of the Spirit everywhere I go! The rain of God's blessings is on me now. This is my set time; I am swimming in the glory of God's abundance. Hallelujah! Irrespective of what I see, hear or feel, I’m convinced that I am a victor and a success in Christ Jesus! I am what God says I am; I have what He says I have, and I can do what He says I can do. I experience the reality of the Word of God as I meditate on, and live in, the Word! I am making progress, and circumstances are subdued to conform to the reality of God’s Word for my good. Hallelujah. My life is a manifestation of the beauty, radiance, and excellence of God because Christ is in me. Therefore, sickness, disease, and infirmities have no place in my body.   10 Marketing Strategies to Fuel Your Business Growth You need more than one strategy
User Avatar Forum: Startups
Posted by: e-guru - 09-13-2017, 11:44 AM - No Replies

[Image: 20170911164248-GettyImages-578161059.jpe...&crop=16:9]
Growing a business isn't easy. First, you need a viable idea. From there, you need to discover a profitable niche, define a target demographic and have something of value to sell them. Whether you're peddling products, services or information, getting the word out has become increasingly burdensome. And without the right marketing strategies to fuel your growth, churning a profit and staying afloat is virtually impossible.
However, identifying the right strategies to market your business is often likened to rocket science. How do you get your message to the right audience and do it effectively? How do you boost visibility and increase sales while sustaining a profit with a converting offer? Today, with so much vying for our attention from social media, to search engine optimization, blogging and pay-per-click advertising, it's easy to see why most are ready to pull their hair out.
The truth is that what got you to this point in business is likely not going to get you to the next level. If you're feeling stuck, join the fray. Most entrepreneurs are so busy working "in" their businesses that they fail to work "on" their businesses. As a result of dealing with the day-to-day operations of a company that includes customer hand-holding, supply-chain demands and more, we often neglect to wield the right marketing strategies that will help fuel our business's growth.
What does it take to do that? Simply put, you have to take a step back for a moment. You have to analyze and understand the basic mechanics of your message and how to effectively reach a larger audience without losing your shirt. The secret to all of this? No matter what marketing strategy you use, if you don't have an effective sales funnel and optimize your conversions, you'll just be throwing money away.
What are the best marketing strategies to use?
Most businesses are faced with a conundrum. It's a Catch-22. There's a clear need for increased visibility to drastically improve sales. But in order to get more visibility, businesses have to spend more money. When that well runs dry, what are you supposed to do?
There is no obvious and clear answer to that question that covers all situations. But there are things that can be done today, right now, even on a shoestring budget, to reach more customers without breaking the bank. However, it all boils down to time. If you lack the money, you sure better have the time to put in the sweat equity.
Either way you slice it, as long as the fundamentals of a sound business are there and you're working tirelessly to build an authentic relationship with the consumer by sincerely trying to add value, then there are 10 go-to strategies you can use to market any business online
1. Use social media.
You can't ignore social media. That's where all the so-called magic is happening. Some businesses have been built solely on the backs of social media. It can be intimidating at first. Sure. But as you build momentum, you'll find posting on social media to get easier and easier over time.
Of course, you could also hire a social media manager if you have money to burn. But if you don't, just be yourself. Be authentic. Post your thoughts. Post your products. Post anything that you find relevant and useful that would help your audience either learn more about you and your business, or about the industry that you're in.
Use direct messages on platforms like Instagram and even Snapchat or Twitter to reach out to other successful businesses or even to communicate with potential customers who might be looking for your products and services. This is very powerful marketing.

2. Create video tutorials.
One of the most effective ways to get the word out on your business is to create video tutorials. Teach people something useful. Walk them through it. Hold their hands. Step-by-step tutorials are all the rage. The better you are at this, and the more value you provide, the quicker you can boost your visibility, and ultimately, your sales.
Today, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world behind Google. Whenever someone wants to learn something visually, they head there. You've likely done it yourself countless times. So just ask yourself what you could teach in your business that would help consumers solve some pain point? What got you into business in the first place?
The hardest part? Hearing your own voice playing back and even seeing yourself. Now, you don't have to appear visually on camera, but you'll likely need to be heard. You get used to it over time. But you can't ignore the visibility and reach of YouTube so get out there and start making authentic and useful videos today, right now.

3. Start blogging now.
Sure, you could start a blog. If you don't have a blog for your business, then you need to start one immediately. But you don't just have to blog on your own blog. Most people find blogging mundane because they lack the visibility. The truth is that your blog is going to be like a barren desert unless you know what you're doing.
But this isn't just about posting your ideas on your own blog. You should start authority blogging. Use platforms like Medium to post content. Answer questions on Quora and Reddit. Or get out there onto LinkedIn's publishing platform. These are all authority domains that anyone can post on, which have massive audiences, giving you instant and immediate reach right now.
When you do blog, ensure that you blog effectively. Don't post thin content. Think about adding value. Worried about revealing all your business secrets? Don't be. Give away the farm. Give people so much value that you instantly become an authority in their eyes. This is one of the most powerful strategies you can use to market any business.

4. Understand search engine optimization.
This is an area of marketing that I'm incredibly passionate about. But it's also an area that many people are deathly frightened by. Yes, SEO can be frightening. But it can also be powerful. And when you learn to leverage it and you learn SEO the right way, the sky truly is the limit.
There are companies out there who teach you how to use shady PBNs and other link schemes to "trick" Google. It might get short-term results, but in the long term, you'll land in hot water. You can't take shortcuts with SEO. Just like in business, you have to put in the work and the time if you want to see the results.
Some tips for doing this the right way? Don't spam keywords. Hands down. This is one of the biggest mistakes most people make. Create your content for humans while also paying homage to search engines. But more importantly, ensure that whatever it is that you're conveying is insightful, engaging, unique and adds a tremendous amount of value.

5. Leverage influencers.
Want to get the word out there and boost your visibility on social media without taking years to build the audience? Then you should certainly leverage influencers. But the key is to find the right influencer. You don't have to go with influencers with millions of followers. You could opt for micro-influencers with tens of thousands or even a hundred thousand followers.
The trick? Find the right influencer in your niche so that you're targeting the right audience. It's not just about spreading your message. It's about spreading your message to the right consumer base. If you can do that properly, then you can likely reach a sizable audience for not much money invested when you think about the potential profit it can return.
If your sales systems and products are in place, then this makes sense. If you have an offer that's clearly converting, and it's simply about more visibility, then this is likely the right marketing strategy for you right now. Assess the situation and reach out to influencers and gauge their pricing. Do small tests and see what works, then scale.

6. Build a great lead magnet.
So much effectiveness in marketing really does boil down to creating a great lead magnet. I've found that the right lead magnet presented to the right audience can have explosive results. The best way to do this is if you can identify the right pain points and present a solution in your lead magnet, then you're well on your way.
What problem are consumers facing in your niche? What made you get into business in the first place? Ask yourself these questions before building out your lead magnet. The better you identify the problem or pain points at the outset, the better you'll be at actually addressing that with a solution in your lead magnet.
What type of lead magnet should you build? That could either be an ebook, a cheat sheet, a checklist, a video and others. Of course, it's not just about the lead magnet. You have to have a squeeze page with sizzling sales copy to get people to drop into your funnel. But it all starts with a great lead magnet. The better it is, the more effective you'll be at reaching your audience.

7. Use Facebook ads with re-targeting.
One of the most powerful methods you can use to market just about anything these days are Facebook ads. With Facebook, you can reach a very specific audience and you can do it very easily. You can target by interest, age, relationships status, geographic location, and so much much more.
But the trick here to getting great results isn't just about click-traffic. You have to focus on conversions and re-targeting through pixels. If you don't know how to install the Facebook Pixel on your site, then you absolutely must learn how to do this right now. Even if you're not running Facebook ads, you can build your audience with a pixel.
Pixels track everyone who comes to your site, and you can build custom audiences around them. For example, if you post content about how to learn to drive a semi-truck, and you track visitors with pixels, you can then market truck driving certification to people who have already shown an interest in that already because they visited that specific page. And your conversions will skyrocket.

8. Use LinkedIn the right way.
Do you have a video on your LinkedIn profile? Did you know that you can easily add one? Why not take the time to introduce yourself and your business. Link that to your profile description. This is an easy way to passively market your business, and when it's done right, it can lead to shocking results.
If you have lots of connections on LinkedIn and you're not really posting on there, start immediately. You can reach a large audience, especially when your posts go viral. This is a great place to convey the entrepreneurial journey. Talk about your challenges and tell stories. The more effective your stories, the larger your potential reach when you go viral.
You can also reach out to other businesses and collaborate with like-minded entrepreneurs on LinkedIn. It's a great go-to resource for all things business and too many people overlook this.

9. Create an affiliate program.
Most people don't understand the power of affiliate marketing. Affiliates can provide massive fuel for growth. But approaching the right partners isn't always that easy. You have to have good conversion if you want the bigger affiliate to take you seriously.
I've found that navigating the affiliate minefield can be tricky. It takes persistence and it takes true grit to make it through. Most of us get discouraged after a few setbacks, but you can't allow emotions to get in the way when it comes to affiliate. Build an affiliate program and start reaching out to potential affiliate who can assist you.
There are loads of websites you can use as well such as E. Brian Ross's JVZoo, or Tim and Eileen Barber's ClickBank and Commission Junction to get the word out.
Related: The Affiliate Marketing Model: A Blueprint for Success in the Gig Economy
10. Use Email Marketing Sequences
Part of any good sales funnel is going to be an email marketing sequence. These are the automated messages that go out to users once they subscribe to your list. Use your email sequence to build a relationship with the subscriber. Be authentic and transparent. And convey your journey.
Use the email responses and clicks to segment your list. For example, if someone clicks on a specific link, they've clearly shown an interest in something. Tag that subscriber to market to them later. If someone buys, tag them as a buyer. Identifying your buyers and the interests of your subscribers is huge for segmenting.
When you do send broadcasts, split test. Split test everything, in fact, You never really do know what's going to be the most effective until you pull the trigger and really test it out. This will help you understand what your audience responds to better, making you a better communicator, and better able to sell to your customers.

Seek alternatives to oil now, Osinbajo warns Nigeria

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed worries over the country’s over dependence on crude oil as the main stay of the nation’s economy, saying the profitability of Nigeria’s oil is gradually declining.
Osinbajo spoke during the second national council on Niger Delta meeting held in Akure, stating that some countries have even discovered “alternatives for oil” and as such, they would no longer need to patronise Nigeria’s major source of revenue.
The Vice President, spoke against the backdrop of plans by many developed countries to phase out cars that run on petrol and diesel in a no-distant future and the huge threat it poses to Nigeria’s oil dependent economy.

“Many countries are getting alternatives to oil, the development which would make the resource unprofitable in a few years,” he said.
“The future of oil is declining, which is why it is the duty of all stakeholders to explore all the opportunities now and to ensure we are not constantly battling with the security of the pipelines we should have used the resources to develop other potentials of the region.
“It is the duty of this council to ensure we provide the road map for the future that will not necessarily depend on oil. It is obvious that oil is not going to last forever. As a matter of fact everything that we see showed that oil is declining very quietly.

“There is no reason why we should not develop other potentials apart from oil in the region. If we can do this the full potential of the region will be fulfilled and our collective vision will be realised.”

Rihanna bike stunt is a show stopper
User Avatar Forum: Music

Rihanna — her hired crew, rather — had plopped what appeared to be mounds of Millennial pink sand inside the Park Avenue Armory on Sunday night for her Spring-Summer 2018 show. Guests wandered in and out of the dunes before the show's start, but what the piles of sand meant remained vague. It wasn't until dirt bikers, revving up backstage, flew across it, spiraling in the air and landing on a black platform that the theme became clear: motocross. Rihanna never ceases to surprise, does she?

“I'm looking forward to seeing some really cool fashion,” continued Graham. “I'm also curious as to how much diversity inclusion Rihanna has. I'm really happy to have been invited to the show. Even if there aren't curves on the runway, this is just yet another step.” She spoke to Rihanna at the Met Gala in May, and the singing star told her she looked “hot AF.” “She made me blush,” said Graham.

Whoopi Goldberg, Yo Gotti and hip-hop couple of the moment Cardi B and Offset walked by the setup, seemingly unfazed. Their reactions were contrasted with Ty Dolla Sign's; he appeared utterly stupefied. “It's like, woah,” he said. “I can't wait to see what's gonna happen. You know when Rihanna does anything, it's always the best of the best.”

Model and Rihanna music video star Sita Abellan seemed one more show away from being done with fashion week entirely. “I don't like to be in the car all day,” she said. After observing the sand for a moment, she decided that it “reminds me a little bit of [Rihanna's] new makeup collection [Fenty Beauty].” The beauty line launched just three days ago, but Abellan already has a favorite: “a highlighter, which is like blush, a pink blush with highlighter.” Perhaps she has a few favorites, after all.Puma 's been taking chances with artists like Rihanna, The Weeknd and myself,” offered Big Sean. His girlfriend, singer Jhené Aiko, was more excited about the “88” branding, representative of the year Rihanna was born.

“[Big Sean and I] were both born in '88, so it's like, 'yes,'” she said. “I think it's the coolest looking year to be born, too.” She and Sean have a joint album titled “Twenty88.”

Stylist and Rihanna collaborator Fucci shared that he had declined all invitations at New York Fashion Week except Rihanna's. “Her swag speaks to me, so I'm looking forward to some inspiration for some shoots that I'm probably going to feature,” he said. “I would describe [her style] as constant evolution and reinvention. One day she'll be sexy. Tomorrow, she'll look like a tomboy. The next day she'll look like somebody's mom. She does whatever she wants. Ruthless.”check it out https://www.instagram.com/p/BY6KovMjp2u/

*THE SUPERNATURAL LIFE IN YOU .*

Wednesday, September 13th .
Pastor Chris

_*The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).*_

Certainly, our theme verse couldn’t be referring to biological life since those to whom Jesus spoke those inspiring words were already alive biologically. Rather, He was referring to the divine life—the God-life. The phrase, “more abundantly,” used in the King James is a little cloudy; the actual Greek rendering is, “to the full.” He actually said, “...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it TO THE FULL.”

Jesus didn’t need life from God when He walked the earth; He was the totality of life! John 1:4 says, _*“In him was life….”*_ In 1 John 1:2, the Apostle John describes Him as the manifestation and embodiment of life itself: _*“(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us).”*_ In John 5:26, Jesus Himself affirmed, _*“For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.”*_

Now you can understand why He’s able to give that life to the full to anyone who comes to Him. The Bible says he that has the Son, has this life (1 John 5:12). If you’re born again, you aren’t born after the first Adam, but after the second and last Adam—Jesus Christ. Eternal life, the divine life, is in your spirit. You can’t have this life and be infected with HIV or have your body ravaged by cancer! This life can’t coexist with diabetes or stroke; it destroys sickness and disease, and repels darkness.

The trouble with many is that they aren’t conscious of the supernatural life of God that they have. It’s for this reason that the Spirit, writing through John, admonished that you be conscious of your divinity; conscious that you have eternal life, the God-life in you: _*“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…”*_ (1 John 5:13).

You’re not ordinary. The life in you is incorruptible and superior to sickness, disease or the negative forces of life. Live every day with this consciousness.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, I thank you for the transcendent life of glory, righteousness, victory, success, prosperity, and health that I have in Christ; a life of mastery and dominion. I walk in the consciousness of my divine origin and life in Christ, soaring above the limitations of this world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *1 John 5:11-12* And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. *||*

*||* *Romans 8:11* But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. *||*

*||* *1 John 4:4* Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. *||*

*THE WORD: A SURE FOUNDATION .*

Tuesday, September 12th .
Pastor Chris

_*For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).*_

The Bible tells us how Peter healed the lame man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful. Even though the man had been in that condition from birth, Peter knew that the Word could transform him. And as he made a demand in the Name of Jesus, the man was completely healed (Acts 3:1-8). If the Word could change the life of an adult man who was crippled from birth, it can change anybody.

The Word of God has the ability to make a sick man well, turn a sinner into a saint, and a failure into success. Trust the Word. Put it to work in your life. When you live according to the Word, you’re building your life on a sure foundation.

The Lord Jesus alluded to this in Matthew chapter seven. First, He talked about a certain man who heard the Word, believed, and acted accordingly. He likened that man to someone who built his house on a solid rock—a firm foundation. When the crises of life struck, when the adversities and pressures of life beat vehemently against that house, it remained standing.

Secondly, He likened those who hear the Word but don’t put it to work to a man who built his house upon the sand, and when the winds and storms billowed against it, it came to shambles (Matthew 7:26-27).

A lot of people struggle with their faith because they don’t operate by the principles of the Word. Many have founded their lives on the assumptions and theories of men, rather than on the Word of God. Your foundation should be God’s Word. Jesus said, _*“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away”*_ (Mark 13:31).

Unlike this world and everything in it, you can rely on the Word; it’s infallible, immutable; the Word is eternal. Build your life on the Word, and not on human philosophies that change with the times.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, thank you for the Word, which is my sure and firm foundation; upon it I rest secured and immovable, strengthened, rooted and grounded. Your Word is the rock that holds me, for it’s absolutely trustworthy, reliable, and true. Thank you Lord, for my triumphant life in, and through the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Acts 20:32* And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. *||*

*||* *Matthew 7:24-27* Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. *||*

[11/09 6:39 AM] Innocent: ***RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL***

WORSHIP HIM EVERY DAY .

Monday, September 11th .
Pastor Chris

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me (Hebrews 10:4-5).

When you study the twenty-ninth to the thirtieth chapter of the Book of Exodus, you’d find how that the Lord gave the children of Israel certain instructions, and asked that they rendered sin offering, burnt offerings and incense. These were to be done every day.

However, God wasn’t pleased with the sacrifice and offerings of these animals; He wanted the perfect sacrifice: Christ Jesus.

Over in the New Testament, Jesus became our sin offering. He was offered for us as one sacrifice, forever. We never need to offer animals to God anymore. Hebrews 10:14 says, “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” He wasn’t just the perfect sacrifice; His sacrifice perfected us.

The Psalmist, David, gives us a light into this and tells us something striking in Psalm 141:2. He said, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.” Being a prophet, he had a revelation of the future and the new dispensation that should come into effect after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The sanctuary of the old covenant was going to be removed and replaced. What then would take the place of the incense that was offered to God regularly, and the sacrifices that He commanded the priests to offer morning and evening?

It’s our prayers of worship and the lifting up of our hands! God says this should be perpetual; it should never cease. It’s the reason we worship Him always, with our hands lifted. Every time you worship the Lord, especially when you do it in the spirit, that is, in other tongues, your prayers go to Him as incense. The Bible says, “And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand” (Revelation 8:4).

As you lift your hands to Him, eulogizing and making confessions to His Name, it’s like the evening sacrifice, a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God. And we’re to do this every day.

PRAYER

Dear heavenly Father, I bless and extol your majesty, for you alone are God. You’re worthy of all praise, glory, adoration, majesty, splendour and grace; blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honour, power, and might, be unto you, forever and ever. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: || Psalm 134:1-2 Behold, bless ye the LORD, all [ye] servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. 2 Lift up your hands [in] the sanctuary, and bless the LORD. ||

|| Revelation 7:11-12 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and [about] the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, [be] unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. ||

|| Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name. ||

*ADORNED WITH THE FULL ARMOUR OF GOD .*

Sunday, September 10th .
Pastor Chris

_*For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).*_

Our opening verse clearly shows that we’re not in contention with human enemies, but with spiritual forces. Human beings aren’t your enemies. Whatever wickedness you might observe in human beings is actually perpetrated by the spirit-forces of darkness listed in our opening verse: principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places. They’re the ones responsible for the varying degrees of evil and devilry that we see and experience around us.

Man in himself isn’t as wicked as you see, for God made man in His image and in His likeness. He made man to look like Him, and to function like Him (Genesis 1:26); but there’s something that remotely controls the unregenerate man and causes him to think, talk, and act wickedly (Ephesians 2:2).

But thanks be to God; we aren’t left hamstrung. When pressures from these wicked spirits come charging at you, be unruffled! As long as you’re fully girt with the full armour of God, you’ll be able to resist and extinguish the cruel and fiendish onslaught and oppositions from the evil one, and remain standing in the evil day.

Satan and his demons are no threat for the Christian. You have the dominion and authority over principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. God has given you the spiritual weapons with which to keep them at bay (Read Ephesians 6:13-19).

Act on the Word. Get on the offensive against the enemy by keeping the whole armour of God on you all of the time, not some of the time: Stand firm and be unshakable, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And pray in the Spirit on all occasion with all kinds of prayers and requests. Hallelujah!

*CONFESSION*

*I’m fully equipped and fortified with the whole armour of God, strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. My faith is a weapon of defence against the fiery darts of the wicked, and an instrument of victory over and against the adversities. adversary I’m and eternally triumphant in Christ. Blessed be God!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Ephesians 6:13-17* Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: *||*

Some suspects in the Anti-Kidnapping Section (D7) of State CIID Umuahia Cell escaped from the detention facility on Saturday 02/09/2017. The suspects made away with two AK 47 Rifles kept outside the Armoury for quick response to emergencies, to facilitate their escape. The inmates conceived the escape and nurtured it into fruition due to the negligence/absence from duty of the policemen scheduled for duty on that fateful day.
However, three of the escapees, viz Kingsley Anyim, Chijioke Chukwu and Emeka Ukaegbu have been rearrested and one of the rifles recovered while all the officers involved in the act of negligence/absence from duty have all been taken through the Force approved disciplinary action process and dismissed from the Force, and will be prosecuted. Efforts to rearrest the remaining escapees is being intensified.
Meanwhile, it need be mentioned that Emeka Ukaegbu who was just picked up has confessed to where he kept the remaining AK47 rifle.
On 05/09/2017, a distress call was received that one young man later identified as Nnadozie Ezinwa Onyema aged 36yrs was shot dead by suspected cultists along ‘Early Learning’ road by Umueze Aba. Consequent on the call, SP Gabriel Alobo, the Divisional Crime Officer Abayi Division led a team of patrol men and detectives attached to the Division to the scene of incident where the victim was found in a pool of his own blood.
One locally made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered around the scene. Combing of the street and surrounding environment, resulted in the arrest of one Godswill Joel Okeke and Godwin Dada both males aged 26yrs and 31yrs respectively.
Photograph of the deceased was taken and corpse taken to the morgue for preservation. Investigation is in progress.

*FILLED WITH THE FRUITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS .*

Saturday, September 9th .
Pastor Chris

_*May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [that His glory may be both manifested and recognized] (Philippians 1:11 AMPC).*_

Romans 5:1 AMPC says, _*“THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”*_ To be justified means to be declared not guilty. That’s who the Christian is: one who’s been declared righteous and has right standing with God. He’s not merely a “sinner saved by grace.”

Yes, we were saved by grace, as a means to an end: to become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It’s the reason our lives ought to be filled with the fruits of righteousness—the works of righteousness. Jesus said, _*“I am the vine, ye are the branches…”*_ (John 15:5). We’re the fruit-bearing part of the vine, and we bear fruits of righteousness. We hold forth the fruits of God’s righteousness everywhere we go; righteousness is working in us.

Now, whatever you’re filled with is what will manifest under pressure. In other words, it’s what you have inside you that you can give. We manifest righteousness; we walk in righteousness and do works of righteousness, because we’re filled with the fruits of righteousness.

When Jesus restored sight to the blind, unstopped deaf ears, gave new legs to the maimed, raised the dead, fed the hungry, comforted the afflicted, spoke divine words to encourage and bless people, He was manifesting fruits of righteousness. And as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

You’re a tree of righteousness, ordained to be fruitful and productive in every good work; ordained to manifest the glory of God. You’re His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for works of righteousness (Ephesians 2:10).

*PRAYER*

*Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the revelation of your Word to me, and for the working of your Word in my spirit. I’m filled with the fruits of righteousness; therefore, I manifest the righteousness of God to my world just as Jesus did, because as He is, so am I in this world. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *2 Corinthians 5:21* For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. *||*

*||* *Philippians 2:13* For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure. *||*

legendary country music singer DON WILLIAMS dies at 78
User Avatar Forum: Music
Posted by: trustangel - 09-09-2017, 02:34 AM - Replies (1)

The Country Music world mourns the loss of one of its’ most distinctive song stylists with the passing of Don Williams after a short illness. He was 78.

A native of Floydada, Texas, Williams was born May 27, 1939. He grew up in Portland, TX, graduating there in 1958. Music had always been a part of his upbringing, entering – and winning - a talent contest when he was just three years old. For his efforts, Williams received an alarm clock. He began playing guitar during his teen-age years, learning the songs that he heard on the radio during that period. He and his friends played in local bands around the area, and he wed wife Joy Bucher on April 10, 1960.

To support his family – which would grow to include two sons, Gary and Timmy – Williams worked at a number of odd jobs, including oil field work, and also as a bill collector. While living in Corpus Christi in 1964, he formed the folk-styled trio The Pozo Seco Singers with Lofton Cline and Susan Taylor. They stayed together for seven years, with their biggest hit being “Time.”

After the group disbanded in 1969, Williams soon found his way to Nashville. By 1971, he had a songwriting contract with the publishing company owned by Jack Clement. The next year would see Williams ink a recording deal with Clement’s JMI Records. He made his chart debut with “The Shelter of Your Eyes” in 1973, and was soon hitting the charts time and again with a much more laid-back sound than a lot of the music coming out of Nashville at the time. 1974 would see Williams top the charts for the first time with “I Wouldn’t Want To Live If You Didn’t Love Me.” From that point all the way through 1991, each Williams single would hit the Top-40 on the Billboard Country charts. His 1970s hits included such chart toppers as “Tulsa Time,” “She Never Knew Me,” and “It Must Be Love.” His career grew steadily through label shifts to ABC / Dot, MCA, Capitol, and finally RCA. Williams also gained a devoted following overseas in such unlikely spots as England, Ireland, and New Zealand , and even South Africa and Kenya – where he reached superstar status. He was named the Male Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association in 1978. Though known for being very low-key and soft spoken, Williams did make two movie appearances – 1974’s W.W. and The Dixie Dancekings, and 1980’s Smokey and the Bandit II.

The 1980s saw no slow down in Williams’ recorded output, with the singer notching his biggest hit with 1981’s “I Believe In You,” which not only topped the Country charts, but crossed over to No. 24 on the Hot 100. By this time, he had earned the nickname “The Gentle Giant” for his trademark mellow sound, and the hits continued to pile up throughout the rest of the decade - “Stay Young,” “If Hollywood Don’t Need You,” and “One Good Well” being three of his biggest of the 1980s. His final top ten came in 1991, with “Lord Have Mercy On A Country Boy,” a song that Josh Turner – a Williams fan – would record in 2006.

Though the changing of the guard at radio slowed down Williams’ chart success, he continued to perform for sold-out crowds in America and abroad, playing a final tour in 2006. However, retirement was not in the cards for the singer, who returned to the road in 2010 – the same year that he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Williams’ return to the spotlight also included a pair of albums on Sugar Hill, 2012’s And So It Goes, and 2014’s Reflections, which included contributions from Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, and Keith Urban. It was a sign of his enduring appeal that both albums hit the Top-20 on the Billboard Country Albums charts – his biggest rank there in three decades.

In 2016, Williams decided that the time was right for his final performance, calling it a career after one of the most successful careers in the history of the Country Music business. "It's time to hang my hat up and enjoy some quiet time at home. I'm so thankful for my fans, my friends and my family for their everlasting love and support," the 76-year-old Williams said in a statement at the time. Last year also saw the final release of Williams’ career, a live CD and DVD recorded in Ireland. In 2017, the singer was the subject of a tribute album, Gentle Giants: The Songs of Don Williams, that included performances of his hits by artists such as Lady Antebellum and Garth Brooks.

Resident doctors to announce decision on strike action to taday

NEWSResident doctors meet today, to announce decision on strikePublished on September 8, 2017 By Wale Odunsi

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) will meet today to review the renegotiated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached with the Nigerian government.

The body is expected to announce whether to halt or continue its industrial action.

The doctors, at the meeting government, insisted that their salaries must be paid before they will call off the strike.

But no payment had been made as at Thursday evening.

A communique after Thursday’s meeting, signed by all stakeholders, agreed that another parley will hold on November 2, 2017 to examine the process expected to have been followed through by the two disputing parties.

The Memorandum of Terms of Settlement reads in parts: “The issues of concern to NARD were therefore re-addressed as follows:

“1) Failure To Pay Our Salary Shortfall Of 2016 And January To May 2017

”Acknowledging the need for the Resident Doctors to receive their full salaries, the meeting deliberated extensively on the accounting difficulties encountered in the disbursement of salaries to non – regular payrolls labeled ‘Non Regular Allowances’ as against regular payrolls covered by the IPPIS platform.

“The meeting further noted that the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) did receive one Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE) of the sum of N13.2Billion to address the shortfalls in Public Sector including payment of the salaries of affected doctors in Federal Tertiary Health Institutions (FTHI). After due considerations by the meeting especially of the document submitted by NARD on “Salary Shortfall”, it was agreed –

“i. That the OAGF has to employ checks and balances in disbursing Government funds. Accordingly, though verifications had been done by the Presidential Initiative on Continuous Audit (PICA), there was still need to carry out authentications. Payment would therefore be made directly to the affected FTHI for Doctors and Staff that have been authenticated, and additionally, a soft copy would be forwarded to the Parent Ministry (FMoH), Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, CMDs, NARD and NMA;

”ii. That the FTHIs on list A of the document submitted by NARD that have been authenticated by OAGF were expected to receive payments on or before Friday, September 8, 2017 as OAGF tendered a mandate containing 8 FTHI and pledged to forward an additional list of the remaining FTHI to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for necessary action between September 7 – 8, 2017;

”iii. That the 2nd batch (list B) Mandate will be treated as soon as their AIE is sent to OAGF since NARD claimed that PICA had verified the shortfalls.

“2) Failure To Rectify The Salary Shortfall From August 2017

”The meeting noted and agreed with NARD demand for a 100% payment of salaries to its members. However it was observed that the shortfalls were basically experienced by those not on the IPPIS platform termed “Non Regular Allowances/Payments”.

Atiku speaks on UK’s £2000m support to Nigeria
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: trustangel - 09-08-2017, 10:47 AM - No Replies

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom for its interest in rebuilding Nigeria.

Atiku was reacting to the UK’s pledge to support Nigeria’s north-east with £200 million to fight insurgency in the region.

In a statement titled ‘Celebrating and Appreciating Nigeria’s Oldest Friend’, Atiku described the UK as ”Nigeria’s oldest friend”, adding that both countries had much in common.

“I thank the United Kingdom, Nigeria’s oldest friend and ally, for pledging £200 million to rebuild Nigeria, especially the north-east geo political zone from which I hail,” the statement read.

“To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw, the UK and Nigeria are two countries separated by a common language. Our two nations have too much in common not to have common ground.

“As I said to the UK’s Prime Minister, Theresa May, when I met her earlier this summer, Nigeria is not asking for what we have not given.

“The gallant men and women of our armed forces have given their lives and limbs to bring peace and prosperity to nations all over the world and in time past we made generous contributions to the development of other nations.

  Trump could be impeached
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: trustangel - 09-08-2017, 10:07 AM - No Replies

The Congressional Black Caucus will hold a meeting next week to discuss whether to call for the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Following Trump’s response to deadly violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last month, the CBC chairman, Representative Cedric Richmond of Louisiana, said the 49-member caucus would have a discussion on Trump’s possible impeachment when Congress reconvened after the August recess. Those talks will take place next Wednesday, a CBC staffer confirmed to Newsweek on Thursday. While it was initially anticipated that the discussions would happen at this week’s meeting, relief efforts following Hurricane Harvey and in anticipation of Hurricane Irma took priority. Still, members were given background information on the impeachment process and the details on all the federal officials who have previously been subject to impeachment.Despite three members going on record urging Trump’s removal, a CBC staffer said “we have not made a decision yet” over whether the group would take the step of formally calling for the president’s impeachment. No preliminary discussions have yet taken place.
If there is a sense that the members are moving in the direction of impeachment, a vote could be called for. General policy is that a majority vote is required for a motion to pass, although because of the seriousness of this issue more than a simple majority may be deemed necessary.

*THE ADVERSITIES DON’T COUNT .*

Friday, September 8th .
Pastor Chris

_*And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God (Philippians 1:28 AMPC).*_

As a Christian, you’re a victor forever; therefore, never be concerned about who’s against you or the challenges that you face. For example, anyone who sets himself up as your adversary will of necessity stumble and fall. You don’t have to pray about it; the Word says so: _*“...When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell”*_ (Psalm 27:1-2). So you see, the adversaries and adversities that you face are not a factor.

The Bible says, “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). You’re unconquerable. James 1:2 says, _*“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”*_ You may be faced with challenges in your academics; count it all joy, because no matter what happens, you’re coming through with a testimony. Refuse to faint or lose heart in the day of crisis; God believes in you! He believes that He’s trained you enough to face challenges and win.

Even when you’ve prayed and the trouble seemed not to have gone away, refuse to give up. We never buckle under trouble! We never cry when we face challenges. Eyeball the devil and say, “Devil, no matter what you do, I’m more than a conqueror, because greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world.”

We have the comfort of the Scriptures; we have the assurance of the Holy Ghost in our lives that we can never be defeated. Refuse to be terrified by anything. There’re no adversaries or adversities on earth or in the heavenlies that can overpower you as long as you function in God’s Word. Glory to God!

*PRAYER*

*Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. I refuse to worry or fret over anything, because the Lord is in me and with me always. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I dwell in the secret place of the most High God, and function with the ability of the Spirit always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Psalm 91:3-7* Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day; 6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee. *||*

*||* *Isaiah 54:17* No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD. *||*

None of my seeds shall die because the rain of God's blessing is on them. I can never be barren nor unfruitful in my walk of faith. I am rightly planted in a fertile soil and all that I do prospers. I am connected to an unending stream of prosperity and everything around me responds to growth, expansion, and abundance. Death and dryness are forbidden in my world; for the rain of God's blessing is falling now. Hallelujah!   Southern leaders insist on new constitution
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Saybaba - 09-07-2017, 09:05 AM - No Replies

Say National Assembly has role to play in it
The Southern Leaders of Thought have insisted that Nigeria requires a new constitution to be adopted by the people in a referendum. A statement yesterday by the Chairman of the group, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, said restructuring would not meaningfully be done by amendment to the existing 1999 Constitution, and therefore proposed a new constitution to be adopted by the people through a referendum.

The leaders posited that it was disquieting that the National Assembly was still regaling Nigerians with talks about constitution amendment, and making itself part of the problem standing in the way of re-structuring.

The leaders explained that the 1999 Constitution must be replaced, because it was never a democratic constitution in the first instance.

Their words: “Indeed, it is a constitution only in a loose sense of the word, but not in the strict, generally accepted sense of ‘an original act of the people’ by which a state and its government are constituted. The 1999 Constitution was not made by the people either through a referendum or through a constituent assembly specially elected for the purpose and specifically mandated in that behalf or both but was made instead by the Federal Military Government (FMG) by way of a schedule to a Decree, Decree 24 of 1999.”

To them, the fact that the constitution was not made by the people constitutes a flaw that cannot be cured. “Therefore nothing can change its character as a constitution made, not by the people, but by the military and simply imposed on the people by that government and that it has become largely, if not thoroughly, discredited: "The 1999 Constitution as it were currently, commands or enjoys little respect and obedience among Nigerians. It has been deprived of much authority by manifold acts of abuse, perversion, desecration and even subversion perpetrated with impunity among others.”

On the role of the new constitution, the Southern Leaders said it would among other things, establish new territorial structures of government in the six or eight zones or regions, each with its own separate zonal or regional constitution; redistribute powers between the Federal Government and the federating units and establish other structures as may be required, such as other apparatuses of government, like regional or state police force and independent electoral body for each zone or region.

They posited that the misconception surrounding the issue of restructuring was the view by the National Assembly that the 1999 Constitution could only be altered or amended (sections 8 and 9) but could not be completely abolished and replaced by a new constitution.

“This view is erroneous, because it fails to take account of the fact that the 1999 Constitution can be abolished simply by the repeal of Decree 24 of 1999 to which it is annexed as a schedule,” they said.

They, however, said the approval of a new constitution at a referendum and the abolition of the 1999 Constitution must be synchronised. In other words, the two must be made to take effect at one and the same time, i.e. contemporaneously or simultaneously, to avoid a vacuum, adding that the National Assembly could not be sidelined completely in the process of making a new constitution “except of course where the process is by means of a revolution. That was the error of the 2014 National Conference which was not established or authorised by law and which, therefore lacked power to take legally binding decisions or to implement or enforce them.”

Other leaders who endorsed the statement include: Chief Emeka Anyaoku; Chief Ayo Adebanjo; Professor Kimse Okoko; General Alani Akinrinade (rtd); Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd); General Ike Nwachukwu; Chief Donald Duke, Obong Victor Attah, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Solomon Asemota (SAN).

*DO YOUR PART .*

Thursday, September 7th .
Pastor Chris

_*Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27).*_

As a Christian, one of the ways you make spiritual advancement is by striving for the faith of the Gospel of Christ. Make up your mind that you’re going to stand firm, and work with other believers in the Church to advance the cause of the Gospel; to spread the righteousness of God in your world and in the regions beyond. Be committed to it, and refuse to be an observer on the sidelines. Jesus said, _*“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations…”*_ (Matthew 24:14).

Don’t be merely content to be a member of a local church. Be actively involved as a partner, a co-labourer with God for the expansion of His Kingdom on earth. Jesus said, _*“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building”*_ (1 Corinthians 3:9). We’re His partners in soul winning. There’s a difference between a member and a partner; a member is someone that’s in the boat with you, while a partner is someone who’s paddling together with you. A partner is involved in the work.

The Bible says the Church grows and develops through that which every joint supplies (Ephesians 4:16). Your role in Kingdom expansion, in world evangelism, is vital. Spread the Gospel as though you’re the only person charged with the responsibility. Do it to the best of your ability.

In 2 Corinthians 12:15, Paul said he would very gladly spend and be spent for the sake of the Gospel. In 1 Corinthians 9:16, he affirmed with such profundity, _*“…necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”*_

The same message that Paul and the other apostles preached, which Jesus Himself began both to do and teach, is what we have the privilege to take to our world today. What an honour to be bearers of the glorious Gospel of the blessed Lord Jesus Christ in our generation! There’s no better reason for living than to be a soul winner.

*PRAYER*

*Dear father, thank you for making me an effective soul winner, a partner with the Holy Spirit in winning, building and raising others in righteousness. I expand the Kingdom of God in the earth, and bring many out of darkness into the liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *1 Corinthians 15:58* Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. *||*

*||* *1 Corinthians 3:6-9* I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building. *||*

I affirm that my life is beautified by the Spirit of God. I am a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, and He is glorified in me. I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in season and out of season. I am living in the springtime of my life; therefore, my leaves do not wither; and whatsoever I do prospers. I can never be disadvantaged, irrespective of where I go. I am a Spirit led man; the land is blessed for my sake and I am eating of the good of the land. Hallelujah! The same way a fish produced money for Jesus through the spoken Word, my word is causing circumstances to align themselves with God's plan and purpose for my life. My gates are continually open; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto me the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. God has made me an eternal excellency, a joy to many generations. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

Real reason my marriage with Ooni of Ife crashed —Olori Wuraola

[Image: Ooni-of-Ife-Oba-Adeyeye-Enitan-Ogunwusi-...C580&ssl=1]Following recent rumours concerning her crashed marriage with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the former wife of the monarch, Olori Wuraola, has released an official statement on her Instagram page.

Queen Wuraola, who has now changed her name to Zainab on her social media accounts, confirmed in a post she shared on her Instagram handle that her 17 months marriage to the monarch is officially over but failed to give reasons for the breakup.
She had remained silent since the rumours broke the social media but addressed it saying in her statement that her crashed marriage was not as a result of her infidelity.
“We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity and nefarious behaviour. The spreading of false information (through “sources” afraid to be identified), is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility- on my end.
According to the queen, “What I can confirm is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love and exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence and abuse with the United Nations. No matter how much time you’ve invested, no matter the use of media to silence and manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!

Akure Monarch To Buhari: We Can't Continue To Pretend All Is Well

Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, the paramount ruler of Akure Kingdom, told President Muhammadu Buhari that the people of Nigeria cannot continue to pretend that all is well in Nigeria, as the economy of the country has forced out investors. He added that there are powerful forces holding the nation aback.

Oba Aladelusi, who spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital, urged the president to raise a team of economic experts that could help proffer solutions to the depleting economic status of the country.
The traditional ruler said the country might be in dire need of a genuine restructuring that would help surmount the numerous challenges that are bedeviling the nation.

The Akure monarch made his remarks while felicitating with Muslims to mark this year’s Eid El-Kabir celebration. Oba Aladelusi stated that the Nigerian federal government being led by President Buhari should wake up and look inward to find the best solutions to the staggering economy of the country which has impeded the country’s progress.

"I wish to implore the federal government to raise an economic team that could help proffer solutions on the ways to surmount these amalgams of challenges that tend to bring the economy to its knees.
"We cannot shy away from the need for a meaningful restructuring as a nation. The current imbalance in our fiscal federalism which has crippled some of the viable states should be addressed as a matter of urgency.

"We cannot pretend to assume that all is well when there are critical issues to be addressed.
"The government must, however, be strategic, proactive and timely in addressing some national issues at stake which could make or mar our continued existence as a strong and united Nigeria," the monarch said.

Oba Aladelusi also noted that the incessant attacks of Fulani herdsmen on farmlands and the people of Ondo State have become worrisome. The Akure monarch said the government is not doing enough to curb the activities of the herders who attack, rape and subject innocent people to untold hardship.
He pleaded that it is high time the federal government take a closer look into the nefarious activities of the herders who are using grazing to cover up their atrocities.

R&B singer Keke Wyatt was drowning in her tears as she revealed her husband's plans to drop her while 8 months pregnant ... after he allegedly cheated.

Keke, who once starred on "R&B Divas: Atlanta," posted her meltdown Tuesday. She and Michael Ford have been married since 2010. She says Michael decided he wanted out because of trust issues, but she's calling BS.

She says she's dealing with a lot -- besides being pregnant, she and Ford have another kid that's been in and out of the hospital fighting cancer. Now the divorce. They have 8 kids already, including one from Ford's previous relationship, plus the one they're expecting.

Keke regained her composure and fired off a message to Mike's alleged side chicks. If her version of the story is accurate ... sounds like she's better off without him.

Nigerian Government is lying, We are not out of recession – Onovo
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Saybaba - 09-06-2017, 09:27 AM - No Replies

Former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Martin Onovo, has said the Federal Government lied to Nigerians by saying the country has exited economic recession.

According to him, Nigeria cannot be out of recession and still face increased unemployment rate.

Onovo stated this on Tuesday when he appeared Channels TV ‘Politics Today’ hosted by Seun Okinbaloye. He accused the government of being corrupt, noting that it must invite ethical people and encourage merit to tackle the challenges facing the nation’s economy.

The former presidential candidate said the country had only gone out of a “technical recession”, insisting that Nigeria’s economic crisis was beyond the recession. He said: “Obviously, the ruling party is playing with words. Now, when you have a recession that is complicated by rising unemployment and rising inflation, that is stagflation. So it is deceitful in the first instance to claim that we exited the recession.

“When you have a GDP decline in two consecutive quarters, that is a recession. What has happened in Nigeria is that we have had the decline consistent for five quarters, that in the minimum is not a recession but a depression. “Technically, we just exited a ‘technical recession’ and the actual situation has gone beyond a recession, economic depression is a sustained recession. The government has driven the economy to a bottom. “What are the things that help you grow your domestic productivity? Power, agriculture, manufacturing, just do the right things and, of course, man is the ultimate resource and your people have to be ethical.

“The deceitful government does not encourage ethical people, a corrupt government does not encourage ethical people, a discriminating government does not encourage merit and that cannot encourage productivity,” Onovo claimed.

On the Economy and Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP) launched by President Muhammadu Buhari in April, he said, “You cannot accept mediocrity and expect excellence.”

Onovo also criticised the government for importing petroleum products into the country.
“It is very clear the government does not have any clear plan because if you look at the one you want to refer me to, [you are going to say the Economy and Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP)] if you look at that document, that document is worthless.

“What we proposed was that you do not export crude and import petroleum products, grow refining; is that too difficult to understand? We said we will double power in the first term, this government has lost power,” he said.

*HE BRINGS YOU OUT OF TROUBLE .*

Wednesday, September 6th .
Pastor Chris

_*In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).*_

Just as in Colossians 1:14, the word “redemption” above is used as a synonym to the word “riddance.” It’s translated from the Greek word “Apolutrosis,” which means “to be brought out of trouble.” So, when you say, “Christ is my redemption,” it means He’s your deliverance and your deliverer; your rescuer; the One who plucks you out of trouble.

It parallels what the Psalmist said in Psalm 50:15: _*“…call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”*_ It doesn’t matter what trouble you get into, Christ is your riddance; He’ll get you out of that trouble. It makes no difference if the trouble was self-inflicted; He’ll get you out. It’s part of the result of His vicarious death, ridding you of or out of trouble.

The Bible says the righteous shall come out of trouble (Proverbs 12:13); that means the righteous may get into trouble, but one thing is certain: he’s coming out of it. It doesn’t matter the proclamation that got you into the trouble; Christ is your riddance. He rids you of trouble, and rids you of anything that’s inconsistent with the provisions of the Gospel. He’s obligated to rescuing you and helping you out of any quagmire.

No wonder the psalmist testified, _*“He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God…”*_ (Psalm 40:2-3 AMPC). Hallelujah!

Besides the joy and comfort that this brings, it should give you a certain kind of consciousness and confidence to face life every day and win.

*PRAYER*

*I thank you gracious heavenly Father for the excellent life that I have in Christ! I’m planted on the rock that’s higher than I am, Christ Jesus! Therefore, I’m not moved by circumstances. I’m a victor forever, because Christ is my riddance. He rids me of any trouble and leads me triumphantly from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Psalm 27:1-2 & 5* The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, [even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. *||*

*||* *Proverbs 12:13* The wicked is snared by the transgression of [his] lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. *||*

A Nigerian teenager is among 3 foreigners to be extradited for gang raping a polish tourist on a beach in Italy.
The 16-year-old Nigerian, 20-year-old Congolese asylum-seeker and two Moroccan brothers, aged 15 and 17, are accused of beating the Polish woman’s companion to an unconscious state, robbing and also raping a Peruvian woman.

According to the Sun News, Poland’s Deputy Justice Minister, Patryk Jaki, said the country will seek the extradition from Italy of the four suspects in the gang rape of a Polish tourist on a beach in the Italian resort of Rimini.
The minister on Monday said the four should face a very severe punishment to discourage others from committing such crimes.
Although the Polish authorities opened investigations into the attacks, it is not immediately clear if the country would agree to extradition.

Corruption affecting the Efficiency of the Nigerian Judiciary – Obono-Obla
User Avatar Forum: Judiciary
Posted by: Saybaba - 09-05-2017, 11:42 AM - No Replies

Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, has revealed that the nation’s Judiciary system appears to be retrogressing due to a high level of corruption amongst top judges.

Obono-Obla was making a reference to the decision of the Kenya Judiciary service which annulled the Presidential Election in the country without comprising their job for money.

He also disclosed how a case he filed at the Supreme Court 10 years ago is yet to be assigned a date for hearing due to corruption and inefficiency.

“Why is the judicial system in Nigeria adverse to change? Look at Kenya and how it has reformed its own system!

See how effective and efficient the judiciary is in Kenya. See how audacious, bold, courageous and
fearless judges in Kenya are.

See how an election petition was heard within dispatch just three weeks after it was filed. See how lawyers work together with the bench to deliver a landmark judgment. In Nigeria, lawyers would devise all manners of legal maneuverings steeped in crass legal technicalities to frustrate justice. The judgment would be leaked several weeks before delivery,” he said.

*THE NEW CREATION WAS NOT “REDEEMED” .*

Tuesday, September 5th .
Pastor Chris

_*Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people (Luke 1:68).*_

It’s clear those to whom the verse above refers: the Jews; they were the ones that needed to be redeemed, because they were under the curse of the law. Galatians 3:13 says, _*“Christ hath redeemed US from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.”*_ Some Christians quote this scripture, assuming it to be applicable to everyone, whereas it applies only to the Jews. Paul was speaking generically as a Jew.

The Gentiles weren’t redeemed from the curse of the Law; they were redeemed from the condemnation of the Law. The very presence of the Law was the condemnation of the Gentiles. When God chose the Jews to be His people, and gave them righteous laws to live by, that immediately condemned the Gentiles. That’s why in Ephesians 2:12, the Gentiles are described as _*“...aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.”*_

However, in Christ Jesus, both the Jews and the Gentiles have been brought together to make one new man that’s neither a Jew nor a Gentile; that’s the new creation: _*“For he is our peace, who hath made both one*_ (the Jews and the Gentiles) _*and hath broken down the middle wall of partition…”*_ (Ephesians 2:14).

This new creation wasn’t redeemed from the curse of the Law, because he was never under the curse of the Law; he’s a brand new man that never existed before: _*“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”*_ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Your life transcends this earthly realm; it’s the life of Christ. You don’t have a past to be “redeemed” or delivered from, for your old nature was crucified with Christ, and now, you’ve been raised to a newness of life. Walk in this consciousness.

*CONFESSION*

*I’m a new creation in Christ Jesus, born with the life and nature of God! I’m a brand new man that never existed before, living the supernatural life naturally, and flying high on the wings of the Spirit. I’m prosperous, healthy, and strong, making impact with the Gospel, by the Holy Spirit. Glory to God!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *2 Corinthians 5:17-21* Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. *||*

*||* *Colossians 3:8-10* But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: *||*

*||* *Romans 6:4* Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. *||*

Daily, I go out with joy and I am led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills are breaking forth before me in singing, and all the trees of the field are clapping their hands as I go in God's direction for my life. Glory to God!

Chief Cletus Ibeto finds true love
User Avatar Forum: Romance
Posted by: Saybaba - 09-05-2017, 08:48 AM - No Replies

The great leveler nowadays is divorce; almost everybody thinks about it, whether because we expect to be happy all the time, daily, weekly or because we want the smell of brimstone in lives made too affluent and easy. Hence, Chief Cletus Ibeto’s second marriage to Ifeyinwa Okpara shouldn’t cause anyone to furrow their brow in deep worry.

The Chairman of Ibeto Group has found love. Perhaps hearkening to the voice of wisdom that he who finds a good wife finds a good thing, Ibeto remarried not too long ago, having learnt the basic tenets of sustaining a marriage. He is at present living his dream and having the time of his life with his new wife, Ifeanyi. Having outgrown his fear of remarriage, he decided to pitch his tent with his lover of many years after his first wife dumped him like a bad habit.

The story had been told sometimes ago that Ibeto’s first marriage was passing through some trials that would have led a moneybag into domestic violence.
Close friends to the family alleged that the unfortunate incidents that plagued the union could only be resolved by separation, as both husband and wife had grown intolerant of each other despite interventions by friends and family members to save their marriage. Today, Ibeto has found true love or so it seems.

Michael Ugwu, Sony Music West Africa’s General Manager has reacted to claims by Tinny Music act, Ycee who revealed in a series of posts on his Twitter page that the Sony Music executive has ripped him and other acts signed onto the platform off their hard work.

Ugwu in his reply said that this is not the first time he has been called out and it will not be the last. He also noted that the act of making false and defamatory statements in the media about another which harms his reputation is libelous. he Sony Music West Africa brand representative in his reply also informed YCEE that a contract is a “voluntary” arrangement between two or more parties that is enforceable by law as a binding legal document.

He also put it to YCEE that if he is aggrieved in anyway, there are appropriate methods of contract dispute resolutions which include; negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation. Well my advice to young and upcoming artists is always go through your contract with your lawyer and get him to explain everything for you word for word if need be don't just get carried away by figures

Baring any last minute change of mind, President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Nigeria on Monday, September 4, 2017 for a trip to Washington, DC.

Buhari’s trip to the US is at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

SaharaReporters quoted a Nigerian Presidency source as saying that Trump had extended the invitation last February, shortly after his inauguration.

The president is scheduled to leave his hometown, Daura, by helicopter at 9:15 am on Monday for Katsina airport. From the airport, he will fly out at 10 am aboard a presidential jet to Washington, DC.

The source said the earlier plan was for the president to combine the official visit to the US with his participation at the UN General Assembly in New York from September 21 to 25, 2017.

A Nigerian startup develops bomb sniffing computer
User Avatar Forum: Startups

Oshiorenoya Agabi, a Nigerian inventor based in Silicon Valley, has developed a computer that can identify the smell of explosives and aid in bomb detection. The Nigerian inventor unveiled his modem-sized technology which uses mice neurons at the TEDGlobal conference in Tanzania, according to a report by the BBC.

The device, which has been dubbed “Koniku Kore” is made from a mixture of living neurons and silicon, with sensors that can detect and recognise smells. Agabi believes that his technology could be used to replace traditional airport security and could provide the brain for future robots.

“You can give the neurons instructions about what to do – in our case we tell it to provide a receptor that can detect explosives”, he told BBC.

According to a report by the Nigerian Communications Week, the device could also be used to detect illness by sensing markers of a disease in the air molecules that a patient gives off.

“This device can live on a desk and we can keep them alive for a couple of months. We think that the processing power that is going to run the robots of the future will be synthetic biology-based and we are laying the foundations for that today.”

Agabi believes his startup company, which was launched over a year ago and has raised $1m (£800,000) in funding, could lead us into a future where devices such as Koniku Kore could be discreetly used at various points in airports, eliminating the need for queues to get through airport security. He says the company is already making profits of $10m upwards and has customers in the aviation and pharmaceuticals industries.

10 qualities every startup CEO should have
User Avatar Forum: Startups
Posted by: e-guru - 09-02-2017, 08:03 AM - No Replies

[Image: female-founder.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&ssl=1]Being a startup CEO is often times not a natural ability. In the age-old debate on whether leaders are born or made, a school of thought suggests that leaders are made and it takes conscious effort to cultivate certain traits associated with leadership.

Here are major pointers to look out for in leading a startup successfully

Make the best use of your time

[Image: time-hourglass.jpeg?resize=768%2C579&ssl=1]
There are several things out to distract and hamper your productivity each day. It is, therefore, important that a startup CEO pays more attention to productive rather than busy tasks.

Being focused is so important because it is essential to your thinking, perception, memory, learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Be passionate about your startup

The entrepreneurial journey is not as easy it seems. To lead a startup, one must imbibe a high level of passion to keep you going. The road is no smooth one but your passion for what you believe in would get you up each morning, ready for a new challenge.  If you don’t have the passion for your startup, how do you intend to cope during dark times?

Be accountable

[Image: ceo-executive.jpg?resize=768%2C512&ssl=1]
In any organisation, the single person accountable for results is the CEO. Most CEOs think they are above the law and above being accountable for their expenses and actions.
They have forgotten that whatever habits and expenses they incur would eventually affect the success of the company. They make trips on company funds, buy unnecessary luxury items with the mindset that they have suffered a lot in the past and need to show the world how much they have succeeded. It doesn’t work that way if you want to lead a startup successfully.
Being accountable helps in the long run because you don’t want to send the wrong signals. Doubt and trust issues begin to set in when the leader is unaccountable.

Learn to inspire others

Inspiring others isn’t easy, but it’s necessary if you want your employees to grow and stay satisfied with their job. It is the driving factor that leads people to work harder — meaning more productivity for your organisation — and the most important contributing factor to overall satisfaction, which leads to higher employee retention.

A leader who can’t inspire others would have problems eventually especially when things are not working well. You need to learn the skill of inspiring those around you. You can start with yourself, inspire yourself to always do more.

Always be transparent

In the past, businesses kept secrets from employees and decisions were made behind closed doors.  Transparent leadership is not just an option but is critical to the success of your company.

If your employees don’t already know the truth about your organisation, it is only a matter of time before they will. No matter how hard you try to hide the truth or cover up awkward situations, the truth will always surface eventually. Given this reality, the best approach is to be transparent at all times; act ethically and talk openly at all times.

Confidence is important

Confidence is everything for a leader. People invest in confident leaders –whether they are VCs, business partners, employees, or customers. Confidence leads to success, but success also leads to confidence. So when things are rocky, your confidence level drops. But what makes you a great startup CEO is having confidence not just in your startup but yourself during these rocky times.

We’ve all been there. It is possible to have conviction in your startup without being 100% confident in yourself as a CEO yet. It’s OK. It’s natural, work on it.

Be accessible to everyone

Leading a startup is different from running a corporate brand, although you can outgrow the ‘startup” phase.  You need to be personable and accessible to everyone.

Listen to people’s opinions, relate with people outside your comfort zone, and have some fun with your employees. All this would only increase the love for your brand and culture. Most people do transactions based on emotions and if you are not relatable, you might pass on some good graces meant for you. Egotism and self-centeredness won’t get you far.

Learn to be decisive
[Image: healthychoices.jpg?w=360&ssl=1]
If you intend to lead a startup successfully, decisions are what you would make on a daily basis. These decisions are what would determine if you would succeed. If you are not decisive, there will be enough room for a slippery slope.

Especially if key players in your company are involved, you have no right to go back on your word without any concrete reason. You won’t make the right decisions as often as you think you can, wrong ones would be made and you have to deal with it as a team.

Communication is key

[Image: Nigerian-minister-of-communication-24-of...C512&ssl=1]
The CEO is the leader of the business and, as such, is expected to be an excellent communicator. This is not just about being eloquent; he or she must know how to communicate their thoughts. This means delivering meaningful content as well.

The effective use of language and writing is a challenging skill which many of us poorly developed during childhood. Whether a company succeeds or fails in navigating a crisis, or executing everyday operations depends heavily on skillful communication. CEOs who have bad communication skills commonly blame their childhood for the deficiency. It is a turn-off if a CEO can’t communicate properly.

Remember, you should be a problem solver

Problems are not peculiar to those leading startups; what is required is to be a spontaneous problem solver. There should never be a time where your startup is out of options and paths to follow. You have to constantly challenge yourself to create solutions to problems as they emanate.
This is a major trait to decipher a true leader, he never runs out of options. This singular reason is what makes the entrepreneurial journey interesting, unlike the corporate world where there are schemes to follow.
The entrepreneurial journey is not smooth and you can’t know it all. However, there are habits you have to disregard if you want to start and lead a startup.
