Looting of NEMA by Sani Sidi, 7 others
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 12:31 PM - No Replies

Mohammed Sani Sidi, the director-general of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and seven of the agency’s directors allegedly stole over a billion naira, $284,000 and £95,000, the Nigerian presidency has revealed. All the officials have been suspended from office. Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi A Presidency official said Sani Sidi, maintained 20 different accounts in various banks despite his public servant status. The official alleged that the suspended staff had hurriedly and illegally taken the matter to the House of Representatives in a pre-emptive move to stonewall the ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) hoping for a cover-up. He said an authoritative report submitted to the Presidency by agencies involved in the investigations and activities of the suspended directors, revealed clear cases of abuse of office, graft and collusion on the part of the NEMA directors. He stated: “This is in direct contradiction to the impressions of innocence created last week regarding the seven suspended staff of the agency by the House of Representatives Committee on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness. “The indicted officials indeed have genuine cases to answer; actually some of the officers have made confessional statements, while others could simply not explain the money and properties already traced to them.” “Based on the facts contained in the report, their claim of innocence cannot be substantiated and the presumed understanding they are getting from the House of Representatives is indeed a true reflection of the current state of affairs in Nigeria, where the most corrupt often seek to cover their misdeed by pointing accusing fingers at others.” The House of Representatives Committee on Emergency and Disaster Management had recently called for the immediate reinstatement of the directors, saying they were suspended without due process by the NEMA governing council chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. But the Presidency official said Monday that details of the report “revealed that the affected persons, in league with the former Director General of NEMA may have formed an alliance with certain already identified House Committee members and illegally procured and stole various papers from NEMA files in their bid to exonerate themselves and challenge their suspension, claiming they were innocent whistleblowers being victimized by the board. “While the impression at the House last week presents the indicted officials as victims of circumstance, “the reality is rather different and there is evidence now accruing to government that the action of the some in the House may be an attempt to protect the suspended directors in an unwholesome deal, which is already causing ripples even in the National Assembly.” He said a query being raised in the Presidency was about the need for some in the House of Representatives to be involved “in what is certainly an illegal removal of official documents through the staff and their acceptance by some in the House, when the House had the constitutional powers to access the document but resort otherwise. “The report submitted to the Presidency shows the enormity of the crimes committed by the officials which comprised misappropriation of public funds, frivolous claims of personal emoluments and conspiracy with the other officials to short-change the Federal Government of due revenues, among others. “Regarding the former NEMA DG, Mr. Sani Sidi, for instance, it was indicated that he maintained 20 different accounts in various banks, despite his public servant status. “EFCC found suspicious deposits amounting to 164,000 US Dollars in his domiciliary account at Standard Chartered Bank alone, all within 18 months, i.e., between January 2014 and June 2015. ‘This almost averages out at $10,000 per month. At the same time, he had up to £58,000 in his Pound Sterling Account. He faces allegations of misappropriation of public funds, frivolous claims of personal emoluments and conspiracy with the other officials to short-change the Federal Government of due revenues.” He said the suspended Director of Finance and Accounts, Akinbola Hakeem Gbolahan, was also indicted for maintaining many bank accounts with questionable transactionsz adding that “EFCC, the report indicated, has noted in particular his account in GTBank where suspicious deposits were found, totaling N27, 650,000 which is, in addition, the over £37,000 and $120,000 found in his domiciliary accounts, and his Naira account which has several suspicious deposits in excess of N50 million, much of which flowed directly from NEMA. “For the Ag. Director of Special Duties, Mr Umesi Emenike, findings from the report revealed that funds meant for programmes and maintenance of the South-South Zone operations of NEMA under his supervision were paid directly into his personal accounts (14 of them have been discovered by EFCC in various banks), instead of the Zonal Office Account. And he was found to have withdrawn freely in cash, by electronic transfers or through ATM Machines, without any evidence of the money being used for NEMA activities. “Also according to the report, his subordinate, the Zonal Accountant, also made several cash lodgements into the personal account of Mr. Emenike. About N238, 000,000 has so far been traced from NEMA directly to Mr. Emenike’s personal accounts which were placed in fixed deposits and used freely by the Ag. Director. “The report also revealed that the Director of Risk Reduction, Mr Alhassan Nuhu, also maintained five bank accounts which were apparently used as conduits to receive and distribute money from NEMA coffers. “According to the report, so far, Mr. Nuhu has not been able to give satisfactory account of the transactions, including NEMA Funds moving through him to a company called Dambo Farms Limited. “The case of the pilot in charge of NEMA’s Air Ambulance is especially interesting. His name is Mamman Ali Ibrahim. On his own, he commercialized both the NEMA Air Ambulance and Helicopter. The report further indicates that EFCC traced at least N285 million to him, of which only N63 million was paid to the Accountant General’s Office and another N11 million was paid to NEMA, but the rest cannot be accounted for. “According to the report, some of the money was however channeled to his family members through his company, Aerocare West Africa Limited, while others in foreign exchange were directly traced to the former DG’s accounts. “The report also indicted the Chief Maintenance Officer; Mr. Ganiyu Yunusa Deji who was in charge of fuel supplies to NEMA Generators and was found to have been receiving regular returns into his personal account from the supplier, Rekimat Global Resource Limited. It was also noted in the report that since Mr. Ganiyu Yunusa was suspended; the fuel that used to last for one week now lasts for more than a month. “There is also the case of M. Kanar Mohammed, the Director of Welfare. His six bank accounts were found to be replete with NEMA funds, including a N214 million meant for displaced traditional rulers in the North East, N184 million paid by him to one Crystal Chambers and N29.5 million paid by him to a former Minister, Abdul Bulama. “The report, however, indicated that all the indicted officers are still under investigation mainly by EFCC and their suspension was obviously to ensure they don’t remain in office to tamper with evidence in the process of due investigation.” The presidency official said it was therefore expected that the final report of investigation would soon be ready after which the seven NEMA suspended directors would face “for sure criminal prosecution

Welder Killed At Grema Terab's Residence In Maiduguri

20-year-old welder killed at politician’s residence in Maiduguri

The Police Command in Borno on Tuesday confirmed that one person was killed in Maiduguri during a gathering at the resident of a politician, Mr Grema Terab.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Damian Chukwu, told newsmen in Maiduguri that the command had arrested 24 persons in connection with the killing which occurred on April 15.

Chukwu disclosed that men of the command had recovered the corpse of a 20-year-old welder, Maina Mustapha, at the residence of the politician.

He said the command had earlier declined request by Terab to hold a political meeting at his residence in GRA area of Maiduguri.

“Terab sent a request in a letter with a PDP logo, seeking permission to hold a meeting at his residence in the GRA area.

“The letter was signed by Terab and not by the PDP Chairman or any other official of the party.

“And considering the appearance of a party logo on the letter, we notified him that the command would not permit political gathering within residential areas and advised him to hold the meeting at public places or hotels to enable us to provide security.

“Terab acted against the command’s position, held the meeting at his residence and in the process one persons was stabbed to death,” he said.

The commissioner added that Terab, who was the convener of the meeting, went into hiding and ordered him to report to the nearest police station.

He said that investigation into the case had begun.

Offa Banks Robbery: Son Of NADECO Chieftain, Ayo Opadokun Among Arrested Suspect

By Adebayo Olodan, Mumini Abdulkareem, Ahmed Ajikobi and Kayode Adeoti

Released from prison three months ago after serving only eight months of his jail term for armed robbery, he was however arrested few days ago in connection with Offa Banks robbery and a barrette pistol and six (6) rounds of live ammunition recovered from him.
He was described by the police as a notorious 35-year-old armed robber who has opened up on the roles he played in the bloodletting incident, which led to the reported death of over 30 policemen and civilians in penultimate Thursday’s robbery attack in Offa. The suspect is Kayode Opadokun, an indigene of Offa and the first and only son of former Secretary of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), Chief Ayo Opadokun.
In a telephone interview with this medium last night, a member of the family who does not want his name in print disclosed that Kayode for years has remained a pain in the neck for his activist father.

According to the family source, Kayode’s father almost disowned him for being the ‘black sheep’ in the family but for the intervention of relatives.

“Being an activist, Chief Opadokun left his three children and only wife, who retired as headmistress in Offa, while he was based in Lagos.

“I think part of the problem was that he had little time to check on them, especially during the Gen Sani Abacha’s regime when members of NADECO were often arrested.
“Kayode is the second child and the first and only son of his father. Suddenly, he started smoking Indian hemp and taking alcohol among other things, a development that got his parents worried especially his father who at a time almost disowned the boy but for the intervention of relatives,” he disclosed.

Speaking further, the source said Kayode’s parents secured admission for him at a private university in the country but he dropped out of school.

Herdsmen attacks force 300,000 Benue pupils out of school

John Charles Makurdi
The Executive Secretary, Benue State Teaching Service Board, Prof. Wilfred Uji, on Tuesday stated that the persistent herdsmen attacks on Benue communities, had disrupted the school calendar and forced 300,000 children out of school.
He said, “200,000 of the figure are secondary school students and 100,000 are primary school pupils, which cut across three local government areas.”

Uji, who disclosed this at a press conference in Makurdi, lamented that the crisis had adversely affected the educational system, especially the primary and secondary school system.
He said Government Secondary School, Gbajimba; Government Secondary School, Agasha; Government Science Secondary School, Logo; and Government Secondary School, Ukum, among others, had been burnt or closed down completely by herdsmen.
Uji added that secondary school students and primary school pupils in public schools in Apa, Agatu, Makurdi, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo had also been forced to leave their schools.
“I pray this should stop; otherwise, it is going to be a nightmare. The situation in the IDP camps is so overwhelming that even the mobile schools we established in the camps, it is difficult to control the teaching and learning process as a result of overcrowding. Students, who are displaced and now taking WAEC, even though we moved them to safer centres, are not finding it easy. It’s painful watching students from the IDP camps coming to sit for exams,” Uji said.
The Executive Secretary noted that the situation had been worsened by threats to teachers.
He said, “I was in my office when some of them (teachers) walked in and showed me threat letters and once this kind of letter is written to you, you better take it seriously or the next day, you find yourself in a different form.
“The future of our children is under attack and education in Benue State is under attack and has been compromised completely due to the situation we find ourselves in. In the herdsmen and farmers’ crisis, the isolated targets are usually the schoolchildren.
“If this crisis is between herdsmen and farmers, why the attacks on educational facilities, much the same way like the fight you find in the North-East. There is a connect between the Boko Haram attacks in the North-East and the attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the North-Central in terms of killings and destruction of properties. It is my firm belief that somebody somewhere is trying to destroy the educational standards of Benue.”

Uji appealed to the federal and state governments to address the crisis, “else we might find ourselves not being able to compare with the people of other parts of the country.”
He added, “We are working hard within our lean resources to see how these children can return to their schools and also equip the teachers with necessary intellectual capacity to help in the rehabilitation of the students.
“Take it that a whole school year has been destroyed and when you come back, you are thinking of recovering the whole year lost and it will take more than five to 10 years to recover. The long-term consequences are there. In 100 years to come, our zone will be educationally backward when compared to other zones.”

2019: Amaechi Confirmed As DG Of Buhari Campaign Organisation
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 10:37 AM - No Replies

Earliest confirmation that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has indeed been appointed as the Director-General of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation for the 2019 presidential election has surfaced.
This confirmation came to the fore in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary of the campaign organisation, Mohammed Dattijo, which announced the appointment of Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN as the official spokesman of the Buhari Campaign Organisation.
Recall that there were reports as at January 2018 that Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers state, has been issued letter of appointment as the Director-General of Buhari’s 2019 election campaign.

Shortly after the news broke, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina dismissed the report as mere rumour, stating as at then that his principal has not decided on running for the election. But the President as at last week Monday before proceeding to London announced his decision to seek a second term in office.

While the appointment of Amaechi, who had served in the same capacity for the 2015 election, seems to have been done quietly, MC EBISCO can now authoritatively report that the serving minister is to head Buhari’s Campaign Organisation for the 2019 election.
This is on the strength of the letter announcing Keyamo’s new role which was signed by Amaechi as “The Director General” of the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation.

Insecurity: Senators Demand Sack Of Service Chiefs, Security Agencies Heads
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 10:36 AM - No Replies

Quote:Abuja – Federal lawmakers in the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, demanded for the immediate dismissal and replacement of the nation’s service chiefs and heads of other security agencies over lingering insecurity in the land.

The Senators, who called on President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of necessity, accept an offer of assistance made to him by the British Prime Minister, Theresa May on Monday, lamented what they called, “a lack of decisive action on the part of the executive to tackle the issue of herdsmen killings in parts of the country”.

Debating a motion under matters of urgent public importance, sponsored by Senator Suleiman Adokwe (PDP, Nasarawa State) on the renewed killings by herdsmen and criminal militia groups, the lawmakers noted that government’s inability to tackle unending killings in the land has endangered the nation’s democracy, as Nigerians have become increasingly disappointed and frustrated over failure of government to protect them.

The lawmakers, in venting their frustration and anger, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to, as a matter of urgency, seek international help in curbing growing insecurity in Nigeria.

Making a particular appeal to the President was the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who asked the President to accept British Prime Minister, Theresa May’s offer of assistance in curbing incessant killings in Nigeria.

He said: “We should not be ashamed to ask for help. The President met with the UK Prime Minister and she was of the opinion that Britain would help us security wise”.

Contributing to debate on the matter, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (APC, Lagos), argued that there was need to inject fresh ideas into how the security problems in the country can be remedied.

He stressed that there is nowhere that is safe in Nigeria with the daily killings that the nation is regaled with.

“The security situation has not improved and what the president need at this time is fresh ideas on how to tackle numerous security challenges confronting the nation,” Adeola said.

Adeola further pointed out that for the President to address the security challenges, he must remove the incumbent service chiefs to give room for those with fresh ideas, adding that “the nation should do away with unproductive tenure elongation in areas where fresh ideas are needed”.

“We know the way the military organisations operates. Those with fresh ideas dare not come out against their superiors or else they risk premature retirement from service. So the current service chiefs should go to allow officers with fresh ideas address our alarming security issues,” he added.

Providing what seemed like a professional angle to the debate, Senator Jeremiah Useni (PDP, Plateau State), identified the constant clashes among security agencies as part of the security problems.

Useni, a retired Lieutenant General of the Nigerian Army, was of the opinion that heads of such agencies be removed to pave way for more harmonious relationship among security agencies.

However, Adokwe had while presenting his motion earlier said: “Throughout the weekend and up to the moment that I am speaking, herdsmen have unleashed terror and mayhem on the people of my senatorial district, leaving many dead bodies, numerous wounded persons and hundreds of thousands of internally displaced persons. The victims are largely the Tiv speaking ethnic nationalities with a reported dead toll of 32 persons and we are still counting.

“The real tragedy is not in the well coordinated and simultaneous carnage across Awe, Obi, Keana and Doma local government areas of Southern senatorial district but the tragedy lies from the fact that for four days running, this mayhem continued unhindered, unchecked, unstopped by any arm of the law and security enforcement agencies”, he told bewildered colleagues.

The visibly shaken lawmaker lamented that “right under the noses of the armed forces and the police, this killing is sustained unabated by sheer negligence or refusal to act by the security agencies.

“It is very sad that in Nigeria, with all the security forces a whole senatorial district will go on being punished by militia and no action coming from government. This is a sad commentary.”

He wondered that despite the existence of an army base close to where this carnage is taking place there is no single shot fired by the army.

“It baffles me and beats my imagination that a whole enforcement agency of the Nigerian state will stand by and witness Nigerians being killed endlessly. Nobody can explain this.

“It is no wonder that very eminent Nigerian citizens have urged Nigerians to defend themselves because their life is in their own hands and no longer in the hands of the Nigerian security forces.

“I am very emotional on this matter and I am not one given to emotion very easily. But what I have gone through this weekend is very horrifying; it is very distressing and sad.

“It is as if we are in a lawless society where life is brutish, where there is absence of state powers. We call on the federal government to stop this carnage,” Adokwe submitted.

Senator Barnabas Gemade (APC, Benue), in his opinion said Nigeria is becoming a “state without control, a state that is experiencing anarchy and a state in which we have seen ethnic cleansing”.

According to him, “it is a shame that a sitting government could watch criminality go to the level that we have seen it today and rather than rise up and take very decisive steps against it, we embark on deniability and simply shield this evil by just explaining with flimsy excuses that these are communal clashes in those communities.

“I don’t understand why responsible people elected to control the governments of Nigeria will simply turn away from the reality of facing this matter squarely. And the Inspector-General will fly by helicopter to a town, land in the market square and be asking people whether there is militia in this town or not. And nobody whatsoever seems to call anybody to order. This is very sad. We have done enough of a minute silence for innocent Nigerians being killed.”

Aggregating the views, Ekweremadu who presided over the session noted that there’s no sense in making preparations for elections when the people don’t feel secured, adding that there can only be elections when there is a country.‎

“‎Deliberately, we have given this thing the attention and priority it deserves. As we have pointed out, the primary purpose of government anywhere in the world is the preservation of the lives of citizens. If citizens are being killed, we owe the responsibility as a Parliament to give it the desired attention. And we will never stop talking about these killings. Unless it stops, we will never be tired of speaking about it.

“I have to thank you, distinguished colleagues, for your patriotic contributions. We have listened to senators from different parts of the country – from the East to the West, North to the South – and we are united in condemning the killings. It is indeed very regrettable.

“I ask myself: assuming this is happening in America, in the United Kingdom or France, will it take all this time to be resolved? As we know not even in South Africa. But it appears that we are taking too many things for granted. The time has come for us to seek help from other countries as some of us have suggested here,” he said.

“America is also offering to help. We should not be reluctant to come out openly as say we need help, because what we have now is a global village.

“We cannot be asking people to come to Nigeria and invest their monies here. They will not! Rather, let us ask them to come and help us to solve our security problem.

“If we solve our security problem, they will come here, with nobody asking them to come. I think the first thing to do is to resolve the issue, and it is something we all need to do, and do it fast.

“We are representatives of the people. If they kill everybody, we will nobody to represent; we will have no job. We are not on appointments, we are representatives. If we have nobody to represent, nobody will have a job here. So, security is more important than any other thing that we do here”, he added.

He stressed that “if it gets to a level where we have to shut down this National Assembly and sit down with the executive for as long as it lasts to resolve the problem, we may have to do that”.

“I am happy that we have spoken today and everybody is concerned. I just want to appeal that we do not allow any situation to divide us as a Senate. Let us continue to speak with one voice until this matter is resolved.

“It is critical and people are very worried. We must have a country before we can talk about elections,” he added.

Buhari Has Had To Spend Inordinate Time Cleaning Pdp’s Rot —tinubu
User Avatar Forum: Politics

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu , says the ruling party , which took over power about three years ago , has done for the citizens what the ousted Peoples Democratic Party did not even try in the entire 16 years that it was in power.
Tinubu expressed disgust that President Muhammadu Buhari has had to spend “ inordinate time ” cleaning the rot left by the PDP .

According to him , APC is the direct opposite of the PDP which “has perfected the malign craft of giving selfish ambition primacy over the public good . ”
Tinubu expressed regrets that the APC administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari has had to spend “inordinate time cleaning the rot and plugging the holes in the corrupt system the others had institutionalised as their strategic policy and national direction . ”
He said that, in addition to what the APC had already done, he envisioned a time when the party would take even bolder steps by modernising national infrastructure, reviving the textile industry , carrying out agriculture reforms by giving credit to farmers , and embarking on a mortgage reform that will provide affordable housing for millions of families.
Tinubu said this in his remarks at the 35th annual Aminu Kano Memorial Symposium, where he was a special guest of honour .
The speech , which was read on his behalf at the event by the Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi .

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESSDAY, 18TH APRIL.

Pastor Chris

TOPIC ✨ Go Forth And Win ✨

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

When you confessed the Lordship of Jesus over your life, you were immediately catapulted into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son; into a life of triumph. Christianity is a call to the triumphant life. Our opening verse reveals God’s purpose for His children to live triumphantly in Christ Jesus. That means in Him, and through Him, we’ve been called to live a life of persistent productivity, good success, peace, joy, health, and permanent prosperity. This is the heritage of every Christian. We win every day.

There’re many who are yet to accept this glorious truth, and as a result, live below their calling. They’re up today, and down tomorrow. To them, the journey of life is smothered in uncertainties, full of ups and downs; you may win today, and lose tomorrow. But that’s not consistent with the life we have in Christ; we win all the time. Observe our opening verse again; it says, “…thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ…”; not sometimes, but always.

Have this consciousness, and you’ll never be beaten down in life. Be more conscious of your victorious life in Christ; your divinity! You have the very nature of God in your spirit, and His pulsating life in every fibre of your being. Think about that!

You were born a champion. Live each day of your life in victory. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Yours is a daily life of blessings, miracles, signs and wonders. Go forth today and win.

CONFESSION

I’m a victor in Christ Jesus. I’m more than a conqueror. I function by the wisdom of God today, and in the dominion of the Spirit over every situation! I live the triumphant life in Christ, and I recognize and put to work, my authority in Christ! Glory to God!

Further Study:

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

Romans 8:31-37 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? [It is] God that justifieth. 34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Court Delivers Judgement On Buhari’s UK Medical Trip June 5
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 11:36 PM - No Replies

Quote:Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court Abuja on Tuesday fixed June 5 to deliver judgment in the suit seeking information on the amount spent on President Muhammadu Buhari’s treatment in London.

Mr Tsoho fixed the date for judgment after listening to arguments of counsel and adopted processes.

The suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1142/2017, was instituted by the Incorporated Trustees of Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative (ASRADI), led by its Executive Director, Adeolu Oyinlola.

In the suit, Godwin Emefiele, the governor of Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) was requested to disclose how much it cost tax payers money to pay for Buhari’s London medical bills.

The suit also sought to know how much it cost the country to keep the presidential and crew for 103 days at the Stansted Airport in the UK while President Buhari’s treatment lasted.

On the last adjourned date of February 16, the CBN and its governor had opposed the suit, arguing that it was not within their immediate responsibilities to disclose such information.

ASRADI had said in the suit that the CBN and its governor refused to honour its Freedom of Information request contained in its letter of October 19, 2017.

But, in their counter affidavit filed on Feb. 13, the CBN and its governor urged the court to reject the applicant’s prayers and dismiss the suit.

They also urged the court to vacate an earlier ex parte order granting leave to the applicant to apply for “a prerogative order of mandamus” compelling them to provide the information requested.

However, they had admitted receiving the October 19, 2017 letter from ASRADI, but forwarded it to the President’s Chief of Staff.

Among other things, ASRAD is seeking an order compelling the respondent to furnish it with information sought in the letter of October 19, 2017.

It also seeks a further order, mandating the CBN and its Governor to pay the plaintiff N10 million in damages for refusal to release information in respect of the letter dated October 19, 2017.

Senator Shehu Sani Defects To SDP - Independent.ng

There are strong indications that Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly might have dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
This is as sources within the APC said he has refused to pledge allegiance to the ruling party in recent times.
It will be recalled that there have been lingering crises between the Senator and Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Attempt to reach the senator proved abortive but recent posts on his twitter handle indicated that he is fustrated with the activities in the APC.

Top 5 Strategies Millionaire Entrepreneur Use To Make Money Online
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 08:05 PM - Replies (1)

Are you one of these people who want to make money online from home but never has actually got started. Or are you among those who are reluctant to start because you don't really know where to begin or you think you don’t have the right skills to get started? But anybody can become an online entrepreneur, regardless of your education, background or age.

Over the years, several people who have made money from the internet uses any of the methods I am about to list to make money from the internet. Let’s check it out using popular online millionaires.

- Jeff Bezos = Amazon = Online Retail Store
- John Chow = Dotcom lifestyle = Affiliate Marketer
- Seun Osewa = Nairaland = Membership site
- Abass Toriola = Webincomeplus = Blogging
- Ahmed Bello (Myself) = Affiliate Jagaban = Affiliate Marketing, Fiverr Freelancing

The lists of online millionaires are endless. Now if you look critically at these people mentioned, you would notice that they started with lots of failures, but it never deterred them from making progress.

The most reason they failed was that they never had anyone to put them through the rigorous process of starting out an internet business. I am going show you the several strategies we all use to make money on the internet.

One thing you have to know is that we all use the same strategies but we create different business models around our strategies. While the owner of Badoo dating site decided to create a membership site and request for payments to match couples, Seun Osewa of Nairaland decided to make money via Ads from his own membership site. Straight to business; what are the 5 common ways to make money online from home?

Here are the top 5 ways that entrepreneurs make money online from home.

Sell Other Peoples' Products

Affiliate marketing is the process of marketing and selling other people's products or services online and when you make a sale, you get paid a commission. As an affiliate you don't create a product, sort out payment systems or organize product delivery. There are products readily available in just about every market you can think of, all ready for you to make money online from home. Affiliate websites that can help you to start selling other people's products online include Amazon, CJ affiliate, ClickBank and JVZoo.

Produce Your Own Information Product

Another way to make money online from home is to develop and sell your own digital product. A digital product is anything that a person buys and is able to immediately download to their computer. Digital products can be produced as eBooks, videos, webinars or online training. It can be about something that you're very knowledgeable or it can be something that you have researched and then created. You can even hire out somebody to create it for you and then put your name on it.

Create Your Own Membership Website

A membership website provides the ultimate way to make money online from home because it delivers recurring income as long as you continually offer value to keep your members happy. This is where you get paid to pass your knowledge onto others on a regular basis. It's the same as being a consultant in the offline world, where you help and advise clients on your business knowledge.

Blogging

If you have a passion for a particular subject, it is highly likely that there are other people online who share your enthusiasm for it. By creating your own blog, you can reach out to others who want to see, hear and read tips, advice, thoughts and updates on the subject matter. Bloggers are making money on the net using Google AdSense, banner advertising, affiliate marketing and product review strategies.

When setting up an online business there can seem to be a mountain of obstacles to climb - from getting your website online to finding the right products to sell and the best customers to buy them.

Freelancing

The online world provides the widest possible customer market for you to make money online from home. Everyone from students to experienced professionals can find projects where they can earn money at home online. Freelance websites like Fiverr and Upwork have thousands of customers looking for just about every skill there is, including writers, graphic designers, translators, web designers, marketing and sales staff, legal and financial professionals and more.

Some of these businesses can fetch you money if you can work for just 2hrs everyday. If you are ready, you can check the link below for more.

Man Gets Stuck Inside Sex Doll And Calls Police, Watch What Happens Next (video)

Man gets stuck inside sex doll and calls police, what happens next will leave you in tears (video)

A man had a really embarrassing moment when he got stuck inside a sex doll and had to make a distress call to 911. When police arrived, they filmed the process of trying to get the man unstuck and it's extremely hilarious to watch.

The man, identified as Andrew, is seen on his motel bed, begging the uniformed officers who responded to his call, not to call for more help, obviously out of embarrassment. But the officers informed him they needed to as they couldn't extricate him from the intimacy gadget on their own.

"I'm in pain," he kept screaming in agony.

"Don't judge me,"
 he also added.

"If you don't want to be judged, don't call the sheriff's department," a male officer replied in exasperation.

The officers had to ask him some uncomfortable questions in order to figure out a way to help him.

"Are you stuck inside or under," a female officer asked.

Andrew replied: "A little bit of all that."

The male officer then said in a cheeky manner: "Can I ask you a question, man to man? And I don't know her very well (referring to the sex doll). Are you going in the front or back cos I honestly can't tell."

Andrew replied: "Right now, I'm doing the front 'cause I already, I sort of messed up the back a little."

It's hard not to laugh at this point as the male officer inhales audibly, then exhales and asks him, "sort of messed up the back?"

To which Andrew replied: "I'm getting judged so completely."

The male officer then faced the camera and said: "Kids at home, in case you're watching, there's a whole lot of predicaments in the world you can get out of with a simple understanding of some physics and some chemistry. So what're you gonna do?"

The officers then warmed up their hands then tried to force the sex doll up. Andrew screamed out in pain at this but it didn't work immediately. After so much effort, they finally succeeded in freeing the man.

UK Announces New Scholarships for Nigeria, 51 Other Countries
User Avatar Forum: Education
Posted by: trustangel - 04-17-2018, 07:02 PM - No Replies

The United Kingdom has announced a new scholarship scheme for Nigerian students and other young people from The Commonwealth to study in low and middle-income countries.

This was revealed by Prince Henry of Wales, popularly known as Prince Harry, while speaking at the opening session of the Commonwealth Youth Forum at the Queen Elizabeth II centre in London.[Image: 00470311:e33c5100db46ccadad40132e0ec8a71...85:us1.png]

The Prince, who is fifth in line to the Royal throne, said "60 per cent of the Commonwealth is under the age of 30 and at 1.4 billion strong," adding that they have the capacity to change the world.

Speaking in his new role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, the Prince said the scholarships were named after Queen Elizabeth II, and would be funded with the additional £5 million (N2.58 billion) provided by the UK government for the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan, CSFP.

He said: "In my new role, I will work to support The Queen, my father, The Prince of Wales, and my brother, William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today."

"I am also incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in.

"Before I close, my first act in this role, I am delighted to announce that the Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme will be expanded until 2019, thanks to the generosity of the United Kingdom and other countries.

"(New) 150 scholarships for study in low or middle-income countries will be made available by 2025. This scheme, which is run by Association of Commonwealth Universities, will enable more of our talented young people to access life-changing opportunities to study across the Commonwealth for generations to come.

"In recognition of her Majesty, the Queen, these scholarships will be known as Queen Elizabeth Scholarships."

The Prince also spoke about the Queen being a great source of inspiration for him, praising her lifelong commitment to the Commonwealth.

"When I was reflecting on how to make the biggest impact with this new role, I turned to the ultimate source of guidance on all things Commonwealth: the words of The Queen herself.

"On the day of her 21st birthday, the then Princess Elizabeth gave an extraordinary radio address from Cape Town. With an eye on the future, and an already unflinching sense of duty, she made a commitment.

"She said that whether her life be long or short, it would be dedicated to the service of the people of The Commonwealth. All of us here today can be grateful that it is a long life The Queen is still enjoying.

"Her Majesty's commitment has meant that The Commonwealth is a thriving family of nations, a common link between nearly two and a half billion people, and a defender of democracy, justice, and peace," he added.

The UK currently funds the Chevening Scholarship, which has been on since 1983; the Commonwealth scholarships, since 1959, and have produced over 80,000 graduates through these years.

Nigerian Health Workers Declare Indefinite Strike
User Avatar Forum: Politics

The Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, has announced an indefinite strike.

The union said the latest industrial action would paralyse activities in all health institutions across the country.

“All federal government health institutions in Nigeria including federal medical centres, specialists’ hospitals, orthopedic hospitals, psychiatric hospitals among others will be the first to shut down.

If the government allows the strike to continue after two weeks, all the states and local government health institutions will now join,” the National Vice Chairman of JOHESU, Ogbonna Chimela, told newsmen on Monday.

The members of JOHESU are hospital workers, including nurses and pharmacists, but excluding medical doctors and dentists.

Chimela said the strike will commence from midnight on Tuesday.

“Before now we gave the government 21 working days as an ultimatum. Last month, we so threatened to go on strike after 30 working days, whixh expires today (Tuesday) and government have not really done anything tangible.

“They only invited us on April 5 and told us that our issues are being looked into as usual without any concrete effort on how they are planning to meet our demand.

“So our National Executive Council (NEC) met in Abuja and appraised the situation and we resolved to continue with the strike, no going back”, the union leader said.

The FCT Police Command on Monday confirmed that normalcy has returned to parts of Maitama following a violent clash between members of the El-Zakzaky-led Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) and security operatives.

DAILY POST reports that a melee broke out following the refusal of security operatives to allow members of the sect to stage their daily sit-out in demand for the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, from detention.

However, in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja by its spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, the FCT Police Command denied police culpability in the clash.

He further said that sequel to the restoration of normalcy in the nation’s capital, 115 members of the state were arrested and would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The statement said: “The FCT Police Command restored normalcy at parts of Maitama following a violent protest by members of the El-Zakzaky Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN)who went on rampage on Monday, 16th April, 2018 and were attacking innocent citizens, disrupting business activities, obstructing traffic movement and smashing windscreen of innocent citizens’ vehicles in the affected areas.

“Following the unfortunate incident which also resulted in the destruction of some government and Police operational vehicles, the members of the Shiite group also injured twenty-two (22) police personnel during the protest.“Exhibits recovered: catapults, iron bars, stones, ball bearings and pink head bands.

“One hundred and fifteen (115) members of the sect were arrested at the scene by Police operatives. Joint Team of detectives from the Command in conjunction with operatives from the IGP Monitoring Unit have commenced investigation into the incident. The arrested suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.

“The FCT Police Command hereby warn members of Shiites movement from further disrupting the peace, harmony and free flow of traffic in FCT.

“This is to also to urge the members of the public particularly parents not to allow their children or wards to be used as instrument of violence in any demonstration by any group that could jeopardise public peace and harmony. It is therefore imperative to state that anyone caught in the act of violent demonstration or any act capable of causing the breach of public peace will be made to face the wrath of the law.

“Meanwhile, the Command wishes to state that contrary to speculations from some sections of the media, no life was lost in the violent protest as the Police operatives deployed to quell the protest were professional in handling the situation.”

Achuku Joseph, a resident of Sabo Pegi area of Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, has been brutally murdered after winning N11 million on the football betting platform, “Naija Bet”.

The lifeless body of the young man was discovered at the early morning of Saturday abandoned by the roadside at the Federal University, Lafia, with several deep machete wounds.

The Nation gathered from a member of the victim’s family, who pleaded anonymity, that the late Achuku was being monitored right from the time he won the game by some of his friends who earlier threatened his life in order to have a share of the money.

“Achuku had to relocate to another place to hide, but they traced him and used diabolical charms on him which made him sick and started behaving abnormally.

“We then decided to employ the services of a pastor who prayed for him and later took him to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist hospital in Lafia. It was in that process, that certain diabolic portion was discovered in his pocket. The portions were removed and discarded before reviving him,” he explained.

The source added that the deceased went out as early as 6am on Saturday without the knowledge of his family members only to be told that his body was found lifeless shortly after.

The report, however, stated that the case is with the State CID in Lafia, as investigation is ongoing to bring the perpetrators to book, while the corpse is still in police custody.

The Governor of Ekiti State, AyodeIe Fayose has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for enjoying in London while Fulani herdsmen were killing innocent Nigerians in Benue State.

DAILY POST reported that the president left Nigeria last Monday for the UK where he had held discussions on Nigeria – British relations with Prime Minister, Mrs Theresa May.

While in London, Buhari had pledged that the killings in some parts of Nigeria would soon come to an end.

He said his administration was finding lasting solutions to the menace.

The President said this while receiving the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, in London.

Buhari also met with British Prime Minister, Theresa May in London on Monday where they discussed security issues affecting Nigeria.

But in a series of tweets on Monday, Fayose frowned at the London visit, saying “I have never seen a President anywhere in the world staying abroad when 67 of his people were killed in just one State (Benue).

“President Buhari is in London, wasting resources belonging to Nigerians while the same Nigerians are being killed in Benue by herdsmen? This is sad!”

Nigeria’s Brent Crude Crosses $72 Mark, Production Hits 1.81mbpd
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment

Nigeria’s Bonny Light crude oil price touched it’s highest since 2014 at the weekend, supported by Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) led production cuts, and likelihood of the United States taking military action in Syria increases.

Besides, Nigeria’s crude oil production increased from 1.792mbpd in February to 1.810 mbpd in March.OPEC and allies including Russia are keeping crude oil supply limits in place in 2018, to reduce a price-denting glut of oil held in inventories.

Also, the United State pledged recently that missiles would be fired at Syria and this is said to have threatened crude oil supply level thereby leading to higher oil prices.Nigeria’s Bonny Light attained its highest level at $72.73 a barrel, a little lower than Brent crude oil, which sold for $72.58 per barrels during the trading hours on Friday.

Bonny Light oil is a high grade of Nigerian crude oil produced in the Niger Delta basin and named after the prolific region around the city of Bonny. The very low sulfur content of Bonny Light crude makes it a highly desired grade for its low corrosiveness to refinery infrastructure and the lower environmental impact of its byproducts in refinery effluent.

The United States West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil also hits $67.39 per barrel at the weekend. In March, the OPEC Reference Basket (ORB) increased by less than 0.5 per cent to $63.76 per barrel. Oil futures ended about one per cent higher in a relatively volatile month, following US equity market movements and supported by robust oil demand growth forecasts, tightening US crude stocks and geopolitical tensions.

For the month, the Dubai structure flipped back into contango, while Brent and WTI structure remained in backwardation, albeit at a reduced level before the latest price surge.

OPEC crude oil production dropped by over 201,000 barrels per day in March over the previous months, while production mainly decreased in Angola, Venezuela, Algeria and Saudi Arabia.

This OPEC said has been partially offset by higher production in the United Arab Emirates, according to the organisation’s latest crude oil report.OPEC expects the demand for its crude oil to be at 32.6 million barrels per day (bpd), 0.3 mbpd lower than in 2017.

Speaking recently on the efforts of OPEC toward price stability, OPEC Secretary General, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo said that the global energy system is undergoing significant and speedy changes and becoming progressively complex.

He stated: “Our economies are increasingly interwoven. We must build on our common ground to face upcoming challenges together, strive for sustainable market stability and safeguard future energy security through our ongoing effective cooperation. The irreversible forces of globalization will continue to shape this energy transition.

“We have, through the Declaration of Cooperation, which has become a permanent feature on the global energy scene, established a new framework for producing countries, taking into account the strategic interests of consumer countries as well as the world economy.”

Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu urged OPEC countries to work hard and become least-cost oil producer, saying that if shale oil can produce and sell at $65 per barrel, there was absolutely no reason why Nigeria and other OPEC members’ country should be struggling. He said: “Shale is going to active. We know that whenever we are in excess of $65 per barrel, shale gets very active because the fundamentals become much more supportive to more investments and more production lines.”

Okonjo-Iweala Reveals Why Her Mother Was Kidnapped During Jonathan’s Administration

[Image: Ngozi-Okonjo-Iweala-February-2014-BellaN...00x284.jpg]

A former Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has recounted details of her mother’s abduction while she served under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to her book titled, ‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous: The Story Behind the Headlines’, it was one of the personal acts of intimidation she was subjected to, because of her insistence on implementing reforms and insisting that the right things should be done.

In December 2012, 83-year-old Prof. Kamene Okonjo was kidnapped in broad daylight from her country home in Ogwashi-Ukwu.

“They asked my brother to tell me to announce on national television and radio that I was resigning from my job as finance minister and leaving the country,” Okonjo-Iweala revealed when the kidnappers eventually made contact.

Okonjo-Iweala’s mother was released two days after.

According to her, the reason behind the kidnap was that, with the support of Jonathan, she had convened a taskforce that audited fiscal accounts and detected fraudulent claims for oil subsidy payments which she refused to pay.

The former Minister believed that as risky as it was to serve and fight corruption, in spite of the dangers and difficulties, “it was worth it because institutions, systems, and processes that can endure were built for Nigeria, and substantial monies saved”.

Aisha Reveals Why Buhari Is Allegedly Part Of Wicked People

Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group, on Monday insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari was part of those “wicked people” that kept Nigerians in poverty.

The activist made the remark while reacting to Buhari’s claim that “wicked people kept Nigerians poor.”

Buhari had said this while receiving a delegation of the Buhari Diaspora Support Organisation led by Mr Charles Sylvester in London, on Sunday.

The President, had, however, noted that looking at the condition in which his administration met the country, without savings and the economy badly vandalised, “we have not done too badly.”

However, Yesufu, who frowned at the president’s remark, wondered why he never lend his voice to the issues of education, immunization, almajiri and girl brides.

In a tweet, the co-convener of BBOG group maintained that Buhari focused more on himself.

“President Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari Is one of those wicked people that kept HIS people poor. Never for once did I hear his voice on issues of education, immunisation, almajiri, girl brides.

“He focused coldly on himself. These might not readily give him votes if addressed,” she tweeted.

"Nigerians Now Enjoy Better Electricity Than In The Past" - Babatunde Fashola
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 03:16 PM - No Replies

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, says when compared to the past, Nigerians currently enjoy better electricity supply. According to the Minister, this is the feedback he has gotten in recent times from right thinking Nigerians.

The Minister said the right thinking Nigerians have revealed to him that they now spend less amount of money to power their alternative source of electricity and enjoy a good quantity from the National grid. Fashola disclosed this at the April 2018 edition of the monthly power sector operators meeting in Umuahia, Abia State.

''We are on a journey to a destination of promise and eventual prosperity and I use this occasion to salute the efforts and contributions of all those who have brought us this far. Even if those who were most vocal in condemnation when the situation appeared very dire are now uttering some muted acknowledgment that it has improved, we must continue to draw inspiration from well-meaning and right thinking Nigerians who were gracious enough to publicly acknowledge that they are saving some money from diesel  and the money they used to spend for generators; they are running their generators for fewer hours; and they are getting comparably more power than before. It is because of those gracious and well-meaning and right thinking Nigerians that we must dig deeper, work harder and be more determined to improve service delivery” he said.

Senate summons Emefiele, Adeosun, other over $462m helicopter purchase
User Avatar Forum: Politics

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun
Leke Baiyewu, Abuja
The Senate has invited the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; Minister of Defence, Brig.-Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali (retd.); and Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Emefiele, over alleged illegal withdrawal of $462m from the Consolidated Revenue Account.
The money was said to have been withdrawn and paid to an American firm for the purchase of helicopters. It was, however, alleged that it was done with the approval of the National Assembly.

At the plenary on Tuesday, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP, Imo-East) raised a point of order, alleging that Section 80(2) and (3) of the 1999 Constitution had been breached.
Anyanwu said, “I have it on good authority that in March 2018, from the Federation Account, a whopping sum of $462m was withdrawn and paid for (the purchase of) helicopters to an American firm. And this is without the approval of the National Assembly or the Senate.
“I know that there was no time when there was any request (for approval) from this Senate before any withdrawal from the Consolidated Federation Account.
“I, therefore, as a senator, want us to find out if that thing (withdrawal) was done.
“I will request and suggest we invite the CBN governor, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Defence to tell us how this money was withdrawn and paid to an American company — a whopping $462m — without the approval of this Senate.”
Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the plenary, put the request to voice vote and it was unanimously granted.
Ekweremadu referred the matter to the Committee on Appropriations, asking it to invite the ministers and the CBN governor.
“The Appropriations Committee should invite the three: the Minister of Finance, the CBN governor and the Minister of Defence to shed light on the release,” he said

Bakare On Presidency: Sowore Will Do His Turn, I Will Do Mine
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 02:48 PM - No Replies

Quote:by Jamilah Nasir

Tunde Bakare, serving overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly church, says he and Omoyele Sowore, a presidential aspirant, will lead Nigeria.

Bakare said this when Sowore paid a visit to his church.

Introducing him to the congregation, Bakare described the Sahara Reporters publisher as an “uncompromising non-conformist rebel with a cause”.

He said though they both have their eyes on the seat of the president, they would, in turns, lead the country.

“The problem that I have is that Sowore wants to be president and I want to be president. One of us will have to knock each other,” Bakare said while laughing.

“Well, everybody say, ‘turn by turn’. I will fulfill my own turn and he will do his own turn.

“It is not his first time here by the way.

Many people don’t know this guy had fought lions and bears and battles just to ensure there is good governance in our country and I am so happy that people like him are thinking of contributing their meaningful quota while it is yet day.

“If people will not gather together to shake the system, the system will remain unshaken. But now they are afraid because we are coming from the east, from the west, from the north, from the south, from outside invading this country to say enough is enough.”

During a service in his church on April 8, Bakare had said a tender plant from the north will replace President Muhammadu Buhari, whom he has repeatedly criticised.

“The reason things are going haywire in Nigeria today is because God is preparing a tender plant from the side of the north,” he had said.

“Once this president is out, another tender plant is entering. It will be clear to us that God preserved us for 30 years, preparing us for what he has prepared for us.”

Bakare was Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election. The ran on the platform of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

Detectives from the Edo State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), at the weekend raided a hostel, Igbinedion male hostel, which some undergraduate students used as a gay club in Ekpoma.

It was gathered that five suspected members of the club were arrested during the raid which was conducted at the wee hours of Friday.

Those arrested were identified as Osareinti Omo, 23, Odigie Matthew, 20, Sunday George, 20, Festus Akinbayo, 25 and Ibrahim Duru.

It was learnt that the suspects were arrested based on a tip-off from members of the public on the activities of the group.

It was also gathered that the group was allegedly performing initiation ceremony for some teenage boys who were recently introduced into the club.

A police source said the gang collected the sum of N10,000 from new intakes with the promise that they were going to be given protection throughout their stay in Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.

In his confessional statement to the police, Ibrahim Duru said he was initiated into the club by one Osanyade Michael in 2015 while he was in year one.

He said Michael, who is the leader of the club, is presently on the run, and that he was wanted by the police.

He said: “I see nothing wrong in my being gay. It is my life. Our meeting place is in Igbinedion male hostel, Ekpoma. We meet there mainly at weekends but it was later extended to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Other members of the gang are Osazuwa Samuel, Williams Aghedo, Agala Christian, Atamamin Uyi Festus and Omolegie Samuel.

“I was arrested in 2015 along with Osanyade Michael when police raided Igbinedion male hostel. We were detained but Osanyade jumped bail and since them we have not seen him. Others were later allowed to go on bail with the promise that we were going to put an end to gay activities in the area. Some of us went back recruiting members secretly. Presently we are about 20 in number. People pay us.”

The Edo State police spokesman, DSP Moses Nkombe, could not be reached on phone as calls and text messages were neither answered nor returned.

Nobody Gives Me Credit For Conducting Nigeria’s Freest Election – IBB
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 01:04 PM - No Replies

Nigeria’s former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd), cares to know the real reason why the presidential election conducted in 1993 was annulled, or give him credit for how fair the poll was.

General Babangida said this during an exclusive interview on Roadmap 2019, a Channels Television programme that aired on Monday.

The late Moshood Abiola, a philanthropist and successful businessman, had won the election which was later cancelled by the then military junta headed by General Babangida.

The poll, which was adjudged as one of the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s democratic history, was the first presidential election held in Nigeria since 1983 when the military took power in a coup.

The late MKO Abiola of the then Social Democratic Party (SDP) had defeated Bashir Tofa of the defunct National Republican Convention (NCP).

Twenty-five years later, General Babangida was displeased that despite explaining why the June 12 election was cancelled, nobody cared to listen to him.

He said he had a good relationship with the presumed winner of the election whom he said they had communicated at different occasions.

“Nobody has ever sat down to say the two persons are friends, what went wrong? We tried to rationalise why we had to do what we did but nobody is prepared to listen to us,” the elder statesman said.

“I have never seen anybody write anything on this to try to give people a different version altogether. He (Abiola) knew my feeling; I knew his feeling about the country generally because I do talk about Nigeria with the presumed winner of the truly democratically freest election. We even talked about it during the crisis itself.”

Babangida stressed further that the election was widely accepted to be the freest in the history of Nigeria, but he has yet to get a credit for conducting the poll.

He decried that Nigerians were instead interested in ‘he cancelled the freest election, noting that he loved being criticised.

On whether is he is planning to write an autobiography, the former military president said, “People may not read it because it’s coming from a dictator. Yea, he cancelled June 12 and that will kill the thing about the book, but I will try.

“I hope one day if God spares my life I will discuss about it (June 12 elections) because I still believe people don’t get what we were trying to put across.”

Sex For Marks: OAU VC Gives Update On Prof. Akindele

The Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, has said the institution may involve the police to verify a telephone conversation involving Prof. Richard Akindele and the student of the institution.

Professor Akindele was said to have asked a female student for sex in order to help her pass her exams.

The VC speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday said the university might involve the police to get to the root of the matter if the investigation committee runs into a hitch.

He said, “We have a committee that is investigating the matter now and we gave them one week to submit their report. If we run into any hitch, we can use all the resources available to get to where we are going. But once things are running smoothly, we may not need to involve the police.

“But we must first identify those involved and where they are; if we have any problem doing that, then that is when the university will invite the police.

“The committee’s one week will elapse by Wednesday. We will brief you about it. I need to state that we have excellent relationship with the police, the DSS and others.”

2019 Buhari's Friends Are Not Telling Him The Truth — Okogie
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 01:00 PM - No Replies

The general opinion of Nigerians, going by what I have been reading in newspapers, is that he (President Buhari) has not done well.

ARCHBISHOP Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, has cautioned politicians he says are manipulating President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election next year to take time to gauge the mood of the nation or risk plunging Nigeria into an “unnecessary revolution”.

Okogie, however, affirmed the prerogative of any human being to aspire to be anything in life, saying, “Every citizen of Nigeria has the freewill to do whatever he or she desires to do. So, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he can hearken to the voices of people to aspire to any height.

“But I know that the voice of the people is the voice of God. And I can tell that the general opinion of Nigerians, going by what I have been reading in newspapers, is that he (President Buhari) has not done well. And for him to come from such background and wants to re-contest for another four-year mandate is absolutely left to him”.

Cardinal Okogie
He went on, “But just as he (President Buhari) has the freewill, the people of this country also have the freewill to elect according to their conscience. Like I said, the popular assessment of his performance in the last three years is dismal and the generality of the people will prefer that he retires and allow other Nigerians to make their contribution to the nation’s development. “They don’t want to see him in the saddle again because he has performed poorly, but if he wants to force himself there, I don’t know how he will do it….but I can only say good luck.

“You can even see it from the opposition party’s standpoint. For example, the APC has been releasing lists of alleged looters of the nation’s treasury and the opposition party, the PDP, has consistently raised objections, claiming that some members of the ruling party have been, at different occasions, indicted of corruption, but, up till now, the APC is yet to respond. PDP had asked very salient questions bordering on the so-called list of alleged looters but what has been the response from the APC? The PDP has made very weighty allegations but they not responded. If they are convinced of their anti-corruption war, they should openly respond to the questions raised on the alleged looters lists. But so far, there has been no reply from the APC.

“I hope they are assuming that Nigerians are sleeping. For example, there are various opinion articles in newspapers, I have sent out a couple to the media which have been published but what has been the response to them? Nothing! Nobody has said a word about all that I have written about in the last couple of months. I want them to react; but thus far, there is no reaction.

“I am not a politician, but I can say to you now, that politics in this country has changed drastically. It’s no longer what it used to be. No! Those days are gone for ever. For example, when the former Defence Minister, Gen, Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, threw the gauntlet and urged Nigerians to defend themselves when they come under attack by these mindless insurgents, majority of Nigerians supported that call because it reflected the mind-set of the vast majority of the people.

“These people, on a daily basis and here and there, are suffering and being killed and our President is not saying anything. The holy book urges us to love our neighbours….are the people being killed on a daily basis not our neighbours? Check the newspapers on a daily basis, there are reports of killing of innocent Nigerians in different parts of the country and the President will not say a word.

“Let me tell here and now, if he gets there (re-election) by hook or crook, people will revolt. Mark my word! Even if he wins, people will revolt and Nigeria will not be comfortable with him anymore. Nigeria has changed. It’s no longer a country of yes, yes. No! Not anymore. There will be revolution. Even if he puts somebody they don’t like, they will not accept”.

The conversation continued:

But there are Nigerians who believe there is no alternative to President Buhari. Do you agree?

How can I agree? That is not true. They are flatterers. If we put any other Nigerian in power, he will perform. Why did President Buhari not back the calls from different parts of the country for restructuring? Why? They know what they are doing, but I tell you Nigeria is not for one person or for one region. Nigeria is for us all. I am not a politician but every Nigerian can read me. Like I said, Nigeria has changed. Did Olusegun Obasanjo not desire to have a third term in office? Did he not fail?

What is your advice to Nigerians at this point?

I don’t know. But like everybody is advising, people should go out and register and make sure they vote when the opportunity comes to elect the next President, but the problem is that you know the kind of Nigerians we have. I have said it, even if he wins tomorrow, he will not be comfortable in the seat, because, number one, most Nigerians will query how he got there. From what I am seeing now, a time will come when people will be killing themselves like chicken. And I think the time is here with us already. Look at what is happening in Borno, Benue, Taraba among other places in the country….and Buhari has not said a word!

My last letter or if you like call it opinion, entitled, We Are Watching And Waiting!, that statement is a powerful statement. We warned them in our last write ups, that Nigerians are no fools. We are no fools. Nigerians are no longer fools. He should be careful because Nigerians are no longer fools. Can you hear Gov. Nasir El-Rufai shouting again? What of all members of the cabal?

Quote:KANO —Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has busted the activities of an online company, Swiss Golden Company Limited, which defrauded over 7,000 Nigerians to the tune of over N3 billion.

EFCC operatives Spokesman, EFCC zonal office, Kano, Idris Isyaku, who disclosed this in a statement, yesterday, said:

‘’The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered N216,402,565.05 from Swiss Golden Company Limited, an online investment that purportedly deals with buying and selling of gold bars.

‘’The recovery was sequel to a petition the commission received from thousands of complainants who alleged that they invested in Swiss Golden Company Limited, which was advertised as an online investment that deals in buying and selling of gold bars.

‘’The petitioners further alleged that after investing over a billion Naira into the business, Swiss Golden refused to pay them any dividend or pay them back their capital.
‘’Upon receipt of the petition, the commission swung into action by first inviting the petitioners where they volunteered statements. Through intelligence, the commission picked up one Maxim Lobaty, a Russian and two Nigerians, Austin Emenike and Dickson Nonso Onuchukwu, in Lagos.

‘’The trio were, subsequently, conveyed to the Kano operational zone of the EFCC for further investigation.
‘’Swiss Golden, which is headquartered in Hong Kong, was discovered through investigation to be a Ponzi Scheme designed to defraud innocent victims of their hard earned money.

“After being drilled at the commission’s Kano zonal office, Maxim and his co-suspects consented to the refund of the investment. It is through that, a total of N216,402,565.05 have now been recovered.

“Investigation into the alleged fraud is still on going and all efforts are being made to recover the money involved and the alleged suspects brought to justice.”

Why Nia, Dss, Efcc Will Continue To Clash – NSA
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 12:08 PM - No Replies

Quote:By Ismail Mudashir

The National Security Adviser (NSA) Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd) said the country’s intelligence agencies would continue to clash unless the National Security Agencies Decree 1986 is amended.

Monguno was quoted in a report of the Senate ad-hoc committee that probed the clash between officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Department of State Service (DSS) and Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) last year.

The agencies clashed last year when EFCC operatives attempted to arrest Mr Ayodele Oke, a former DG of NIA and Mr Ita Ekpeyong, a former DG of the DSS.

The NSA while expressing concern over the lack of unity and cooperation among intelligence agencies in the country said the situation has led to, “The current state of disjointedness and disharmony amongst sister agencies. This resulted due to the National Security Agencies Decree 1986; Cap 278, Cap 278 LFN section 14 01-2 which has stripped the NSA of the power to check the other Security Agencies that have now become independent of his office due to their now ‘easy’ access to the President. Thus, there is a desperate need to streamline the Agencies and make them answerable to the NSA.”

Monguno told senators that the President was aware of the state of things and also presented evidences of instances where his duties were usurped due to lack of discipline exhibited by Security Agencies.

He disclosed that he was not aware of the EFCC chairman’s move to arrest any of the former intelligence chiefs until after the media reports and that the resistance made by the Security Agencies during the arrest cast some aspersions.

The Senate had while considering the report of the panel chaired by Senator Francis Alimikhena (APC, Edo) resolved to initiate the amendment of the act with a view to giving powers of control to the Coordinator on National Security over these agencies on behalf of the President.

Sisters Use Sex Video With Reverend Father To Blackmail Nun (pic)

Quote:By Stanley Ihedigbo and Balogun Alabi 

Two sisters, Ngozi Nnabude (46) and Uchenna Agagwaonye (40), have been arrested for threatening the head teacher of Handmaids International Catholic School, Aguda Surulere, Rev Sister Mary Okolo (45), for being harsh to teachers. According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, the case deals with a crime, conceived, planned and carefully executed by two women, who are blood relations.

Edgal said that investigation showed that Agagwaonye, a teacher in the school, was frustrated by what she termed the highhandedness of the nun.

Agagwaonye, who teaches primary four pupils in the school, said she didn’t realise that the text messages sent to Okolo were threatening. She said: “I have been teaching in that school for over 18 years. But Rev. Sister Okolo just joined us recently.

I run a part time programme with University of Lagos. Before I went for leave, I went through the normal process of applying for my annual leave. And when I resumed, N12,000 was deducted from my salary.

I went to plead with her concerning my salary, but said she would pay me when God touches her heart.” Agagwaonye explained that last year, there was also an incident, where the former headmistress asked all staff to revise the exam questions with the students before the examination, but the assistant head mistress reported to the new head mistress that Agagwaonye was engaging in examination malpractice.

Agagwaonye said it was a lie from the pit of hell against her. She added: “If I’m doing that kind of thing, how do I intend to teach the children morals? Six months later, we had an argument about the graduation. I was given a letter of suspension.

All these didn’t make me happy, so I was the one that told my sister to send the threatening text messages.” She further alleged that Okolo angrily sacked a security guard, after the latter caught her having sex with a Rev. Father. Okolo also allegedly sacked some other teachers.

“I don’t want to kidnap or kill her. I sent the messages to her so that she would calm down on her wickedness. I only told her I would make the video clip of her sex escapades public. I don’t even have any video, but the laptop repairer whom she gave her laptop to fix has video clips of her nudity.

I didn’t know it would be assumed that I was blackmailing her. I am not a Catholic,” Agagwaonye said. On her part, Nnabude said: “My sister took her annual leave to enable her write sit for her exams. When she resumed, Okolo deducted N12,000 from her salary.

The woman always uses harsh words on my sister and her colleagues. She even used to tell them that they didn’t have anybody to fight for them and that she would frustrate them all. My sister asked me to send a message to the nun.

I got involved in the case because it was my phone that was used to send her the messages. In the message, my sister talked about a sex tape. We didn’t threaten to kill her.”

Edgal noted that Agagwaonye decided to make life unbearable for Okolo by engaging her sister, Nnabude, a woman with an outstanding knowledge of computer and telephony.

The commissioner said that the sisters conspired to put the nun under constant fear and apprehension of imminent danger. When the threat to maim, kidnap, kill and expose her unfounded secret sex life was unbaiting, the Rev. Sister reported the matter to the command’s Anti-kidnapping Unit.

“The intelligence component of the command was directed to unmask those threatening her.

Investigations revealed that Agagwaonye’s role was to monitor Okolo and pass information gathered to her sister, Nnabude, who would then call Okolo on phone, describing her movement and clothes she wore. She would tell the petrified nun that, ‘you cannot hide from us! You’ll be killed soon’.

“Detectives investigating the case have been instructed to find out if the suspects have the capacity to carry out their threats, or if they are working with other criminals. The case will be charged to court as soon as the investigating is over.”

2015: Uche Secondus Received N250m From Dasuki For Special Duties - EFCC Reveals
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-17-2018, 10:50 AM - No Replies

Quote:The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, allegedly received N250m from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of the embattled former NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s report has said.

The report, which was sighted by one of our correspondents, stated that Secondus allegedly received the money during the build-up to the 2015 general elections.

Secondus, who was the Deputy Chairman (South) of the PDP at the time, allegedly collected the money for ‘special duties.’

The report partly read, “Uche Secondus received N200m in cash from the ONSA with voucher 0244. His Special Adviser, one Chukwurah, signed for the money on his behalf on February 2, 2015. Earlier, he had collected N50m which was personally received by him on November 7, 2014.

“The funds were approved by Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) for unknown reasons but were merely referred to as ‘special duties.’”

The report also accused Secondus and erstwhile Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, as well as the lawmaker representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Akpan, of receiving vehicles worth about N1.1bn from Babajide Omokore, an oil magnate standing trial before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

According to the report, the vehicles which ranged from Mercedes Benz luxury cars to campaign buses and trucks were bought with the proceeds of fraud.

The report added, “Adamu Mu’azu received vehicles worth N504, 500, 000 including a Benz G63 worth N45m between May and August 2014.

“Secondus received vehicles worth N310m. On June 28, 2013, he received a Benz G63 worth N36m; on April 8, 2014, he received two Toyota Hilux vehicles worth N14m. On July 8, 2014, he received 10 Hiace buses worth N90m while on November 13, 2014, he received 15 Hiace mid-roof buses worth N120m. He also received a N50m Range Rover Biography SUV.”

The report accused Senator Bassey Akpan of receiving vehicles worth N303m from Omokore while he was the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Finance as well as the Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee whose job was to ensure that government projects were completed using direct labour approach to save some money for the state.

Two of Omokore’s companies – Bay Atlantic Energy and Sahel Energy – were said to have received contracts from the committee headed by Akpan.

The report added, “Senator Bassey Akpan received a BMW X5 BP worth N50m; an Infinity QX56BP worth N45m; a Range Rover worth N40m; three Toyota Hiace buses worth N27m; two Toyota Hiace High-roof buses worth N16m, six Toyota Hilux D cabin vehicles worth N42m as well as other vehicles worth N83m.

“He received the vehicles from Omokore while heading a committee which was giving contracts to the same Omokore.

“He has been invited on several occasions but he has refused to show up. He was supposed to come to the EFCC office on Monday (yesterday) but he refused to come.”

But Secondus has described the claim by the anti-graft agency as a blackmail and a continuation of what he described as media trial.

He said there were plans to blackmail and discredit the main opposition party and its leadership.

He however said the plan would not work.

Secondus, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Ike Abonyi, asked the agency or anyone with proof of the allegations to come to court.

Abonyi said, “Secondus is already in court on this matter and that is all. It is a continuation of media trial and blackmail.

“He has said he did not collect any money and he had challenged anyone with contrary proof to meet him in court and testify against him.

“There’s no need to be talking about a case pending in court in the newspapers. If the government has anything to say, they should file it before the court as demanded.”

Also speaking, Secondus told one of our correspondents that he knew that the government would not stop at anything to tarnish his image.

But he said that the move would fail.

He challenged the government to come out with the vouchers with which he was said to have signed, adding that such signature would also be subjected to forensic analysis.

He said, “I never collected any money from anywhere. I didn’t ask anyone to collect money for me as well and I didn’t sign any voucher to collect any money.

“It is pure blackmail which will never work. I have gone to court and I expect them to challenge me in court and come and testify against me.

“If they are cooking up anything, with the aim of blackmailing me, it will fail. I know that the task of uprooting this non-performing government would be horrendous. But God is always on the side of the people.”

Attempts to speak with Akpan proved abortive as he could not be reached for his reaction to the allegation as his telephone line indicated that it was off when it was called on Monday night. He had yet to reply a text message sent to him as of the time this report was filed.

Quote:Fresh facts have emerged on how seven government officials looted public funds from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) running into billions of naira. The officials have already been suspended by the governing board of the agency and are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Com-mission (EFCC).

A top Presidency source yesterday confirmed to New Telegraph that a detailed report on how the officials misappropriated the funds has been submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration.

“The report submitted to the President shows the enormity of the crimes committed by the officials which comprised misappropriation of public funds, frivolous claims of personal emoluments and conspiracy with the other officials to short-change the Federal Government of due revenues, among others,” the Presidency stated.

On the former NEMA Director General, Mr. Sani Sidi, the report indicated that he maintained 20 different accounts in various banks. “EFCC found suspicious deposits amounting to $164,000 in his domiciliary account at Standard Chartered Bank alone, all within 18 months, i.e., between January 2014 and June 2015. “This almost averages out at $10,000 per month.

At the same time, he had up to £58,000 in his pound sterling account. He faces allegations of misappropriation of public funds, frivolous claims of personal emoluments and conspiracy with the other officials to shortchange the Federal Government of due revenues.”

On the suspended Director of Finance and Accounts, Akinbola Hakeem Gbolahan, the Presidency stated that he maintains many bank accounts with questionable transactions.

“EFCC, the report indicated, has noted in particular his account in GTBank where suspicious deposits were found, totalling N27,650,000 which is, in addition, the over £37,000 and $120,000 found in his domiciliary accounts, and his naira account which has several suspicious deposits in excess of N50 million, much of which flowed directly from NEMA,” the source stated.

For the Acting Director of Special Duties, Mr. Umesi Emenike, findings from the report revealed that funds meant for programmes and maintenance of the South- South zonal operations of NEMA under his supervision were paid directly into his personal accounts.

The government stated that 14 of the accounts have been discovered by EFCC in various banks, instead of the Zonal Office Account. “And he was found to have withdrawn freely in cash, by electronic transfers or through ATM machines, without any evidence of the money being used for NEMA activities,” the report said.

The report also shows that his subordinate, the Zonal Accountant, also made several cash lodgements into the personal account of Mr. Emenike. “About N238 million has so far been traced from NEMA directly to Mr. Emenike’s personal accounts which were placed in fixed deposits and used freely by the Ag. Director,” it said.

The report also revealed that the Director of Risk Reduction, Mr. Alhassan Nuhu, also maintained five bank accounts which were apparently used as conduits to receive and distribute money from NEMA’s coffers. According to the report, so far, Mr. Nuhu has not been able to give satisfactory account of the transactions, including NEMA’s funds moving through him to a company called Dambo Farms Limited.

“The case of the Pilot in charge of NEMA’s Air Ambulance is especially interesting. His name is Mamman Ali Ibrahim. On his own, he commercialized both the NEMA Air Ambulance and Helicopter.

“The report further indicates that EFCC traced at least N285 million to him, of which only N63 million was paid to the Accountant General’s Office and another N11 million was paid to NEMA, but the rest cannot be accounted for,” the Presidency said. According to the report, some of the money was, however, channelled to his family members through his company, Aerocare West Africa Limited, while others in foreign exchange were directly traced to the former’s accounts.

The report also indicted the Chief Maintenance Officer, Mr. Ganiyu Yunusa Deji, who was in charge of fuel supplies to NEMA Generators and was found to have been receiving regular returns into his personal account from the supplier, Rekimat Global Resource Limited. It was also noted in the report that since Mr. Ganiyu Yunusa was suspended, the fuel that used to last for one week now lasts for more than a month.

There is also the case of M. Kanar Mohammed, the Director of Welfare. His six bank accounts, according to the Presidency, were found to be replete with NEMA funds, including a N214 million meant for displaced traditional rulers in the North- East, N184 million paid by him to one Crystal Chambers and N29.5 million paid by him to a former minister, Abdul Bulama.

The report, however, indicated that all the indicted officers are still under investigation mainly by EFCC and their suspension was obviously to ensure they don’t remain in office to tamper with evidence in the process of due investigation.

“It is, therefore, expected that the final report of investigation will soon be ready, following which the seven NEMA suspended directors will face criminal prosecution,” the source said.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, said the seven officials that are aware of the report have been lobbying members of the House of Representatives to ensure that they are not found wanting by the EFCC which is investigating the matter. He stressed that all the seven officials are bent on covering up the matter

. Explaining further, the source said that details of the report revealed that the affected persons, in league with the former Director General of NEMA, illegally procured various papers from NEMA files in their bid to exonerate themselves. The source also noted that the officials, in doing so, intend to be in a better position to challenge their suspension, claiming they were innocent whistleblowers being victimized by the board.

Prophet George Fakolade: "Fashola Will Be President Of Nigeria In 2019"

Quote:Prophet Reveals Nigeria’s Next President

Fashola would take over from Buhari in 2019, says Prophet Fakolade

– An Abuja-based cleric, Prophet George Fakolade, the leader of Divine Intelligence Ministry, has prophesied that President Muhammadu Buhari would leave office as President in 2019, as Nigerians would elect the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, to replace him. Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola Fakolade, who made this prophecy known in a statement issued to journalists during the weekend, also said Mr. Fashola would make his cabinet ready before assumption of office, step-up the fight against corruption, spare no sacred cows, and heal the nation of the many maladies plaguing it.

He also noted that the incumbent Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Lawal Daura, would continue in office under Mr. Fashola for the sake of continuity and in the interest of the nation. He said: “Mr. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state is the person chosen by God as President and Commander-in-Chief in Nigeria come 2019.

“Under Fashola’s administration, the situation in which Presidents are booed or booted out of office in shame and ignominy in past times would no longer continue. “He would announce his cabinet on his first day in office and take-off without delay. Fashola’s government would take-off in grand style with all hands on deck. The present sick administration and government shall become history.

“Before Mr. Fashola assumes office in 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari shall beef-up security around him like an incumbent. Anti-bomb and explosives experts shall open all letters for him like in the case of ex-President of the United States, Barack Obama, before his historic election. “He would consider the entire nation his constituency, eschew parochialism in his appointments and make no excuse for failures.

“Fashola’s government would also step-up the fight against corruption and spare no sacred cows. Treasury looters can only run but cannot hide. God maintains that Nigeria still stinks with corruption and more arrests will be made.

“Having duly reflected on the incumbent Director-General of DSS, Lawal Daura, in my previous prophecies, I predict he will continue in office under Mr. Fashola for continuity and greater successes for all Nigerians.”

Sterling Bank Grows Profit After Tax By 65% To N8.521bn
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment

Sterling Bank Plc on Monday reported a growth of 65 per cent in profit after tax (PAT) for the year ended December 31, 2018. The audited results of the bank showed PAT of N8.521 billion, up from N5.163 billion posted in the 2016. The profit was recorded from gross earnings of N133.490 billion in 2017, compared with N111.440 billion in 2016.

The financial institution ended the year with net interest income of N50.180 billion, down from N55.990 billion, while impairment charges rose from N11.714 billion to N12.267 billion in 2017. Profit before tax grew from N6 billion to N8.606 billion, while PAT improved from N5.163 billion to N8.521 billion.

Based on the results, the board of directors of the bank has recommended a dividend of two kobo per share for the shareholders’ approval.

The former Managing Director/Chief Executive of Sterling Bank Plc, Mr. Yemi Adeola, had last year told shareholders that bank would aggressively grow its retail business through electronic channels over the next five years.

According to him, the bank would continue to boost innovative banking, driven by market insights that would enable it serve its customers satisfactorily, implement significant investment in technology-led growth initiatives and accelerate the growth of its non-interest banking segment.

Meanwhile, the JSE Securities Exchange has lifted the technical suspension on Oando Plc. According to the South African bourse, it acted based on information from the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), which is the primary listing of the Oando Plc.

The NSE had last Wednesday lifted the technical suspension on the shares of the energy and gas company before reinstating the suspension some hours later.

The Exchange said subsequent to the lifting of the technical suspension, on 11 April 2018, it received another communication from SEC to maintain the status quo prior to the Commission’s letter of 9 April 2018, (the technical suspension of trading in Oando’s shares.)

“In the overall interest of investors in Nigeria’s capital markets, and following consultation with the Commission please be advised that at the start of trading tomorrow (today), 12 April 2018, trading in Oando’s shares will resume without any impediment in price movement consistent with the NSE’s market structure.

In its own explanation, SEC said the technical suspension of Oando shares took longer than expected on account of the lawsuits from its shareholders and the company itself.

“However, the suspension of the shares of Oando Plc was prolonged due to several litigations by Oando and other shareholders contesting the propriety of the forensic audit and technical suspension. All litigations have now been withdrawn, the independent forensic audit by Deloitte is ongoing and the preliminary result is expected,” the capital market regulator said

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL (FREE APRIL PDF => http://bit.ly/2cuJG6M

*ANOINTED TO PREACH HIS LOVE .*

Tuesday, April 17th .
Pastor Chris

_*The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised (Luke 4:18).*_

The Lord Jesus read the verse above from the book of the Prophet Isaiah, to the hearing of those in the synagogue at the time. When He was through, He said, _*“...This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears”*_ (Luke 4:21). Let’s read and compare the words: _*“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound”*_ (Isaiah 61:1).

Today, Jesus is in heaven; we’re now the ones walking in His shoes; we’re His seed, prolonging His days (Isaiah 53:10). Today, the Spirit isn’t just upon us, but lives in us. Like Jesus, you can say with the same audacity of faith: “The Spirit of the Lord God is in me, and He has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” We’re right in Isaiah chapter 61 today, fulfilling that glorious scripture.

Therefore, your message to the world shouldn’t be one of condemnation and judgment, but of the love and compassion of Christ. You’re anointed to preach His love. He sent you to lift the downtrodden, to mend broken hearts, to bring succour to the hurting and to the dying in the world—those without hope, those alienated from the life of God. He sent you to be their light in a dark world; to bring them out of bondage into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.

Notice again what He anointed us to do: it’s to heal; it’s to save; it’s to give life! Jesus came into your life to lift you and give your life a meaning, and then made you His partner in lifting others and giving their lives meaning. You’re His ambassador, sent into the world with the message of His love.

*PRAYER*

*Blessed Father, thank you for your great love demonstrated in sending Jesus to die for the sins of the whole world. As your children proclaim the Gospel around the world today, many hear, see, and receive your love in the message, and are gloriously saved, healed, and delivered, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *John 10:10 AMPC* The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a] overflows). *||*

*||* *2 Corinthians 5:19-20* To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. *||*

[size=undefined][Image: ademola_adeleke_dancing_step.jpg]
Well known as the 'dancing senator', the lawmaker representing Osun west senatorial district has declared his interest to contest for governorship election in Osun state.
In a letter he addressed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the senator representing Osun west senatorial district, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared his interest to contest the September 22 governorship election in Osun State.
According to a report by TheCable, Adeleke, who has spent barely a year in the senate after replacing his elder brother, Isiaka, who died in April 2017, opened up the decision to contest the gubernatorial election.
Adeleke in his letter to the leadership of the PDP, said his decision is born out of a conviction that he possesses “all it takes to unite leaders and members of our party as well as galvanise the general electorate towards ensuring a resounding victory for the PDP in the forthcoming poll.”
“In accordance with the directive of the leadership of our great party, I wish to respectfully express my intent to vie for the ticket of the party as its candidate in the Osun state governorship election holding on the 22nd September, 2018,” Adeleke wrote.
 Here's the letter in full below;
“I am a member of the party in Sagba Abogunde ward 2 of the Ede north local government in the Osun west senatorial district.
“As a loyal man from the strongest political base of the PDP in Osun state, I am willing, able and prepared to offer myself for this great service if given the opportunity to fly our flag as the governorship candidate.
“I pledge my continuous commitment and support to the stability, growth and success of the PDP at all levels.
