Atiku Reacts To Buhari's "Nigerian Youths Are Not Ready To Work" Comment

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said many Nigerian youths are uneducated, not ready to work and dependent on revenue from oil to survive.

He said the youths, who make up 60 per cent of the population, were waiting to get social amenities free without doing anything.

The President spoke during a panel discussion at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster, London.

Former president Atiku Abubakar has now reacted via his Twitter account.

"I will never refer to Nigeria's youth as people who sit and do nothing. They are hardworking. I should know, I have thousands of youths working for me all over the country who have been the backbone to our success. he tweeted."

He continued;

I’ve always said oil is not Nigeria’s greatest asset. Our greatest asset is our youth who created Nollywood out of nothing and an entertainment industry that is second to none in Africa.

Our youth are charting new frontiers; creating a huge tech industry on their own! Their entrepreneurial spirit, work ethic, and creative abilities are things of pride and should be applauded, encouraged and nurtured.

Reno Omokri Reacts To President Buhari's Comment On Nigerian Youths

@POLITICSNGR

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari's recent comments that Nigerian youths are 'not ready to work' and are 'uneducated'.

Omokri, in a post on Social media, attacked the president stating that his own Education was 'dubious'. In his words;

"How can you in one breath say that your country's youth are lazy and don't want to work and in the next, you appeal to foreign investors to come and invest in Nigeria?

Someone, please explain to Buhari that a father who calls his daughter a prostitute should not expect suitors! Imagine Buhari saying Nigeria's youth are not educated! Between Buhari and Nigeria's youth who hired 13 SANs to prevent from showing his WAEC certificate? It‘s Buhari's education that is dubious and not that of Nigeria's youth who love education enough to seek it home and abroad!"

@APROKOGIRL

The President of Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Mohammed Yahaya has described as ‘big embarrassment’ the alleged disappearance of its head coach in the Gold Coast, Australia, venue of the just concluded 2018 Commonwealth Games. .
.
According to Guardian, the coach (names withheld) was said to have followed the way of some Africans, especially athletes from Cameroun, who chose to escape in Australia even before the end of the Games. .
.
It was also learnt, yesterday, that two other Nigerians, a coach in the special sports and a 200m runner also disappeared in Australia. .
.
A furious Yahaya told Guardian in a telephone chat yesterday that he didn’t expect the head coach of a national team to ‘escape’ at a competition venue. .
.
“This is very embarrassing to us because as a head coach, I expected him to act like father to the athletes. But our head coach disappeared into the thin air even before the Games were concluded.”

SUV Crushes 23-Year-Old EBSU Graduate Preparing For NYSC In Lagos

A 23-year-old graduate of the Ebonyi State University, Adeyinka Adelekan, will not be able to commence her National Youth Service Corps this month as planned after a sport utility vehicle knocked her down around Skiddo bus stop, Ajah, Lagos State.

Adelekan, who studied Geology at the university, reportedly suffered fractures in his legs and brain injuries as a result of the crash.

She was said to have been admitted to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, and had yet to come out of a coma since December 19, 2017, when the accident happened.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Adelekan was going to buy drinks for herself and her elder sister around 4pm on that day.

She was reportedly standing on the median, waiting to cross to the other side of the road, when the SUV – a Toyota RAV 4 – driven by one Saviour Henry, 26, allegedly veered towards the median and knocked her down.

It was gathered that Henry lost control of the vehicle while trying to prevent a Toyota Highlander, driven by one Oluwatobiloba Olorunosebi, 19, from hitting his SUV from behind. The drivers were arrested by the police from the Langbasa division, while Adelekan was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

She was subsequently referred to St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Island, where she underwent a brain surgery and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit for over two months. The victim was taken to LUTH when there was no improvement in her condition despite the family spending millions of naira.

The suspects, according to the police, drove without valid driving licences and were arraigned on three counts bordering on reckless driving before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court.

Saadu Alanamu Remanded In Prison For N182m Fraud Allegation
User Avatar Forum: Retired Forums. Please Make Your Post Within The 3 Forums In General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 04-19-2018, 10:21 AM - No Replies

Quote:Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin has remanded Dr. Saadu Alanamu in prison custody for alleged fraud to the tune of N182m and abuse of bail condition.

Incidentally, Alanamu’s name was forwarded to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari last week for confirmation as a commissioner of the National Population Commission.

The PUNCH had reported last year that Alanamu was nominated into the board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission by the then acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, despite being probed by the same agency.

However, following public outcry, Osinbajo withdrew his nomination after which the ICPC arrested and arraigned him for fraud.

Alanamu, who is a former Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kwara State Polytechnic, was charged alongside the Chief Executive Director of Namylas Nigeria Limited, Salman Sulaiman, for allegedly collecting a bribe from a contractor.

He was initially granted bail by Justice Mahmud Gafar but was remanded in prison on Monday following allegations by the judge that some persons had offered him a bribe to dismiss the case.

The spokesperson for the ICPC, Mrs. Rasheedat Okoduwa, said in a statement that in the course of trial, the defence counsel alleged that Alanamu was “forced, harassed, intimidated and coerced” into making his statement to the ICPC investigators and therefore, the statement should not be admitted in evidence.

Consequently, Justice Gafar ordered a trial-within-trial, which commenced the same day.
This, he said, was for the court to determine whether the statement was made voluntarily or not.

While delivering his ruling on the trial-within-trial, Justice Gafar overruled the objection of the defence and admitted Alanamu’s confessional statement into evidence.

The trial judge also went on to revoke Alanamu’s bail for abuse of bail conditions.

The case was adjourned till Thursday (today) for hearing.

The commission, in the charges accused Alanamu, who was also the Chairman of the Kwara State Polytechnic Tenders Board, of collecting N5m bribe from a contractor, Salman Sulaiman, as a kickback for the award of a contract.

The counsel for the ICPC, Sunny Ezeana, told the court that Alanamu received the bribe through his First Bank account on February 11, 2015 from Namylas Nigeria Limited, a company owned by Sulaiman, who is also his friend.

The court heard that Alanamu ensured that the contract for the construction and furnishing of an auditorium in Kwara State Polytechnic, at the cost of N182,369, 625.00, was awarded to Namylas Nigeria Limited even when it was found that the company was not qualified to execute the contract.

The ICPC said its investigation into the petition had revealed strong evidence of collusion, bid rigging and corrupt practices against Namylas Nigeria Limited in the bid process; and that the company used falsified, forged and doctored PENCOM Compliance Certificate, Tax Clearance Certificate and ITF Certificate of Compliance to submit its bid during the bidding process.

Kaduna State government has dismissed 4,562 newly-recruited teachers a few weeks after they were issued with employment letters to replace those sacked for failing a competency test.

The state Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Ja’afaru Sani, who stated this at a briefing yesterday, explained that the newly-recruited teachers were sacked because they found their ways into the service of state government through dubious means.

The state government had sacked 22,000 teachers that failed competency test based on questions meant for primary four pupils and announced that it will replace them with competent teachers, based on a competitive recruitment exercise.

Sacked, again

However, at the end of the exercise, some of the teachers could not correctly write acceptance letters, forcing the state government, according to the Commissioner, to organise another screening for all the newly-recruited teachers.

The 11,335 newly-recruited teachers, predominantly degree holders, including a few with Master’s degrees, have already been deployed to over 4,000 primary schools.

“This was after they had undergone vigorous induction training, along with the remaining old teachers, to equip them with modern teaching techniques and effective classroom management.

“We are hoping that between now and next month ending, we will be concluding the recruitment process of the balance of 13,665 teachers.”

Smart teaching tools

The commissioner added that “we want to equip our students with the information and communication technology skills to enable them compete favourably in the current technology-driven world.”

The commissioner said to achieve technology-based teaching, the state was distributing tablet computers to teachers and students, as well as installing smart boards in schools.

Sani noted that the state Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, had concluded the recruitment of 11,335 teachers out of the 25,000 vacancy it earlier advertised; about 40,000 applicants sat for the recruitment examination, out of which 27,639 were invited for oral interview.

He added that 15,897 of the applicants were successful, but subjected to further screening to fish out those allegedly smuggled into the list.

Sani added that the applications for the remaining balance of 13,665 are already being received, adding that the process will commence once approval is granted by Governor Nasir el-Rufai.

Gtbank Announces N45 Billion PAT In Q1
User Avatar Forum: Business/Investment
Posted by: Edoman - 04-19-2018, 09:21 AM - No Replies

Guaranty Trust Bank on Wednesday announced N44.670 billion profit after tax (PAT) for the first quarter of 2018. This was higher than the N41.471 billion filed in the corresponding quarter of 2017.

The report released through the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) showed the lender ended the quarter with net interest income of N59.689 billion, lower than the N66.129 billion from 2017. Loans impairment charges declined from N3.412 billion in 2017 to N1.639 billion.

Incomes from fees and commission grew from N13.68 billion to N15.22 billion in the quarter, while profit before tax improved to N52.624 billion in 2018 from N50.392 billion in 2017. The report also showed deposits from customers increased from N2.062 trillion to N2.214 trillion. While, loans and advances moderated from N1.449 trillion to N1.354 trillion.

Speaking on the report, experts at FBN Quest said the single-digit in profit before tax growth was driven by the 52 percent year-on-year decline in loan loss provisions and a 41 percent growth in non-interest income.

“The growth in non-interest income was largely underpinned by foreign exchange (FX) revaluation gains of N5.5 billion (vsN306.4 million Q1 2017). In contrast, funding income declined by 10 percent. Further down the PAT grew by eight per cent to N44.4 billion, thanks to a lower effective tax rate of 15.1 percent vs. 17.7 percent Q1 2017. Sequentially, PBT grew five percent quarter on quarter (q/q), again, the reduction in loan impairment charges was the major driver. However, PAT fell by 13 percent q/q because of a 50 percent q/q spike in taxation. Compared with our forecasts, PBT and PAT beat by six percent and eight percent respectively, because non-interest income surprised positively."

GTBank is the first bank to release its financial performance this year.

*THE GREAT “GO” .*

Thursday, April 19th .
Pastor Chris

_*Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).*_

The words in our theme scripture are the words of the Master. Notice the very first word, “Go!” It reminds of what He said in John 15:16: _*“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should GO and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain….”*_ When the Master says, “Go,” it means there’s no stopping you; no inhibitions; no limitations! Nothing could dare stand in your way, because He says, _*“...lo, I am with you always…”*_ (Matthew 28:20).

In Mark 16:15, He said, _*“...GO ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”*_ When He says, “Go,” we don’t stop! If anything tries to stand in your way, get rid of it! If it’s a wall, scale over it. If it’s too high, push it down. If it wouldn’t fall, walk through it. The one that asked you to ‘go’ walked through walls, and we’re like Him. We have His dominion and power.

He said in John 20:21, _*“…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”*_ He sent us with the fullness of the Spirit (John 3:34). The Bible says as He is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). John 1:16 says, _*“…of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.”*_ The same Holy Spirit that lived in Jesus lives in you today. Therefore, like Him, you’re unlimited. You’re unstoppable, and can do anything! That’s the reason He gave us the great “Go!” He’s saying, “Go and do exploits; establish my Kingdom and my righteousness in the earth, and in the hearts of men. Make pupils of the nations of the earth!”

You might be asking, “How can I go, when I’m not so gifted? I don’t have the right qualifications.” Remember His words that we read in John 15:16: He chose you, and ordained you to GO, and bring forth fruits. That means no room for failure; it’s success all the way as you go in His Name. He’s qualified you and given you every gift and ability you require. Yours is to heed His command and “Go!”

*CONFESSION*

*I walk in the glory of God. I live in the dominion and authority of Christ! Therefore, nothing, and no one, can successfully stand against me, as I go forth proclaiming liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, bringing men out of darkness into the glorious liberty of the sons of God! Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Matthew 10:5-8* These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into [any] city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. *||*

*||* *Luke 4:18-19* The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. *||*

I affirm that I will never walk in darkness; for the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day. The Lord has perfected all that concerns me, and I am confident of a greater tomorrow, and a day-to-day life of ever-increasing glory because the Lord is the one taking me by the hand, and leading me to fulfil His perfect will for me. Christ is made unto me wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption; therefore, it doesn’t matter what trouble I get into one thing is certain, I am coming out of it. It doesn’t matter what proclamation is made against me, they’re to no effect because Christ is my riddance. He rids me of trouble and plucks my feet out of the miry clay. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against me in judgment is condemned. There’s no shame in my path! I go out with joy and I am led forth with peace; the mountains and hills burst into song before me, and all the trees of the field clap their hands as the Father manifest His glory in and through me today and always. Shocking: Man Strangles Wife To Death Over Addiction To Social Media
A man who apparently got fed up with his own wife over her obnoxious acts, has committed an unbelievable crime afterwards.
According to The Sun UK, a woman was strangled to death in her sleep by her husband because of her addiction to social media.

Cops in India arrested Hariom, 35, on Friday after he was found lying next to her body and he told them he had become fed up with his wife Luxmi, 32, spending hours on social networking sites.

He claimed he had become upset that she would ignore him and their children and instead spend hours on her mobile.

Hariom is believed to have killed Luxmi while she was sleeping at their flat in Gurgaon, near Delhi, late on Thursday night.

Balwant Singh, Luxmi’s father, visited their home the following morning and found her her lying on a bed with Hariom sitting near the body, according to the Times of India.

Her father then called the police and he was arrested.

Hariom said: “We got married in 2006 and had two children. All was fine for the first few years and then I got her a Smartphone.

“In the past two years, the phone gradually changed her, and she started ignoring me and the children.

“It seemed that the children and I had ceased to exist for her.

“She would not cook meals or do any household chores; she would not take the kids to school or help them do homework. She spent days and nights on Facebook and WhatsApp.

“I initially ignored all, thinking she would soon get bored with all these but things only got worse. We were fighting every day and the children were also under stress."

Hariom also claimed it was because of Luxmi’s addiction to her phone and negligence towards the family that he was forced to send his kids - an eight-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son - to a boarding school in Kurukshetra.

But, he says Luxmi remained unaffected by the kids’ absence and started spending more time on her phone instead.

Hariom told cops: “She would never let me see her social media accounts. I suspected she was having an affair online.

"We again had a big fight on Thursday night and when we went to sleep, I knew I could not take it anymore.”

Investigating officer Dinkar Yadav said: “The accused claims that his wife was ignoring him and spending too much time on Facebook and WhatsApp, and thus he killed her.”

Ageless Mum: Meet The Pretty Woman Who Looks So Young That People Think She's Her Son's Girlfriend
A mother who looks way younger than her true age, has been often mistaken to be the girlfriend of her own son.
Shimmi Munshi and her son
A single mum has revealed she is often mistaken for her 20-year-old son’s girlfriend or sister because she looks so young.
Shimmi Munshi, 41, is the envy of all her friends and family, who believe she has discovered the secret of eternal youth.
She said she's been accused of having cosmetic surgery and splashing out on fancy skin creams and beauty treatments - but it couldn't be further from the truth.
Shimmi, from Bolton, said: "As an adult, I’ve always looked young. As my friends began ageing, I seemed to go in the opposite direction, but I’ve no idea why.
"As a teenager, I was one of the taller ones, so if anything, I looked a little older than my friends. But at 5ft 5in, I stopped growing, and I have a very slim, petite frame.
“I feel like the female version of Peter Pan – the girl who never grew up."
At 20, Shimmi gave birth to Ameen, her only son.
“I was a single mum, juggling work and motherhood, and anyone would think the stress might have started to show," she admitted.
"Instead, I seemed to stop ageing. I didn’t notice it particularly, but all my friends did.
“They were all moaning that I’d discovered the secret of eternal youth and they wanted me to share it.
"At the school gates, the other mums would ask if I’d had plastic surgery, or if I had spent a fortune on skin creams and beauty treatments.
“And they were gutted to learn I had no secrets. There was no mystery at all to the way I looked.
“I’ve certainly never had cosmetic surgery. And my beauty routine consists of baby wipes and whatever moisturiser is on special offer in the supermarket!"
Shimmi Munshi
Despite not buying expensive beauty products, Shimmi said she does take care of herself.
"I drink green tea and I don’t smoke or drink booze," she explained.
"I’m a member of the local gym and I drink lots of water. But I am no fitness fanatic or beauty queen.
"In fact, I rarely look in the mirror. I don’t actually think about my looks much at all.”
Shimmi’s parents, Siraj and Nooie, are pensioners, yet both look great for their age, so she suspects her youthful looks might be down to lucky genetics.
"if anyone deserves credit, it must be them," she laughed.
But her looks have at times been a nuisance.
"I’ve been asked for ID buying alcohol so many times and sometimes they just refuse to serve me outright," she said.
"It’s worth it though to see the look on the shop assistant’s face when I hand over my ID.
“When my son was younger, people we didn’t know presumed we were either brother and sister or a couple.
“We were so close, because I had brought him up on my own, and so there was a special bond between us.
“Anyone who met us would just naturally treat him like he was my boyfriend.
“We went on holiday to Poland, and I had booked an excursion, and the tour guide wouldn’t believe that we were mum and son, he kept insisting we were a couple and Ameen was so embarrassed.
“Another time, in Turkey, the locals thought we were brother and sister.
“At Ameen’s prom night, people thought we were a couple, too. It’s very flattering and it made me giggle but it drove him mad.
“Even at parents’ evening at high school, his teacher said to me, 'We really would rather see Ameen’s mum.’ She thought I was his sister!
“As a teenager, he didn’t like all the attention."
Shimmi still gets mistaken for Ameen’s girlfriend. He is now 20 and has got used to the constant comments about his mum’s looks.
“I think he’s finally accepted all the fuss," she said.
"He still lives at home and we are as close as ever, so it hasn’t affected our relationship at all. He’s training in IT and I’m very proud of him.”
Shimmi’s appearance is made all the more surprising because she suffers from a debilitating disease known as gastroparesis, which makes her vomit up to 60 times a day.
She has spent the last 10 years in and out of hospital – and yet still manages to look the picture of health.
“I might be feeling absolutely rubbish but somehow I still manage to look young," she said.
"I wish I had some special secret I could share – but the truth is, I’ve no idea how I do it.
“Hopefully my good luck will last into old age and I will be still be looking 30 when I’m 80!”

Snatching Of Mace: PDP Reacts, Indicts Security Agents, APC Govt
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 10:51 PM - No Replies

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday condemned the invasion of the National Assembly and the the seizure of the Senate mace.

DAILY POST reports that thugs suspected to be loyal to the suspended Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege had invaded the red chambers and forcefully took away the mace.

Reacting to the situation, spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan described the seizure of the mace as a “direct assault on the legislature and bold attempt to truncate Nigeria’s democracy.”

In a statement, Ologbondiyan said, “We note that this offensive has been emboldened by series of interferences and direct attacks by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Buhari Presidency on the institution of the National Assembly, particularly the Senate.

“The APC has foisted on our nation an irredeemable autocracy, which has in three years of governance, gone beyond limits to force Nigerians to accept a government that has no respect for freedom and the ideals of democracy, particularly the constitutional separation of powers.

“Is it not strange that a legislative day appointed to further deliberate on the re-ordering of sequence of election will be the day that strange elements would invade the National Assembly, particularly, the hallowed chambers of the Senate, to disrupt legislative proceeding and seize the mace?

“Equally strange is the compromising of security in the National Assembly paving the way for the invasion.

“The parliament, all over the world, is the bastion of democracy, without which government becomes autocratic and totalitarian.

“We urge Nigerians to pause and reflect on the series of assaults on our legislature under the current dispensation; the persecution and harassment of the leaders and members of the Senate on trumped-up charges, including declaring a serving senator wanted by the Police.

“We therefore charge the National Assembly to bring forth every legislative instrument to protect itself from external aggressions as well as unravelling every persons, offices and institutions that played any form of roles in this wild attempt to scuttle our hard earned democracy.

“Our nation has accepted democracy as the best form of governance. Those whose adrenaline cannot accommodate democracy and its constitutionally guaranteed tenets should either shape in or be forced to conform with the best ideals of democracy.”

Visiting Ghanaian Lawmakers Watch As Thugs Invade Senate, Steal Mace

Quote:ohn Ameh, Abuja

Lawmakers from Ghana were on a visit to the National Assembly on Wednesday when the hoodlums invaded the Senate chamber and stole the mace.

The Ghanaians, who were also as confused as the Nigerians scampering to safety, watched in amazement.

They entered the House and sat at the gallery to observe proceedings as members debated the invasion.

Gbajabiamila, feeling embarrassed that the visitors saw what played out, apologised to them on behalf of the National Assembly.

“It is unfortunate that we have visitors from Ghana, who are on a parliamentary visit to Nigeria.

“We apologise because this is not usually how our legislature operates,” he added.

A member from Anambra State, Mr. Gabriel Onyenwife, supported the motion, calling the invaders terrorists.

He spoke more, “The National Assembly is under a terrorist attack; that is the appropriate description.

“If the legislature is no more, what is the fate of democracy? Today, it is the mace, it could have been a senator or a member that the terrorists came to attack.

“The security personnel in the National Assembly must explain the role they played in this saga.”

A lawmaker from Osun State, Prof. Mojeed Alabi, captured the invasion as a “failed coup”, that should be meted with the appropriate penalty for coups.

“There is punishment for a coup, a failed coup.

“The punishment for this invasion should be the same punishment for coup plotters”, Alabi said.

More members spoke in support of the motion, condemning the attack.

Allow homosexuality in your country – Theresa May tells Buhari, others
[Image: buhari-and-may-1.jpg]
British Prime Minister, Theresa May, has called for same-sex marriages in Nigeria and all other Commonwealth Nations.
The Prime Minister said this on Tuesday while speaking at the first joint forum at Commonwealth Head of Government Meetings in Westminster.
According to her, there should be no laws criminalising same-sex relationships across the Commonwealth.
May said that she understands that most of the laws against same-sex marriages in the Commonwealth were made by the United Kingdom, adding that those laws were wrong then, and are wrong now.
She said, “Across the world, discriminatory laws made many years ago, continue to affect the lives of many people tens of millions of young people.
“Criminalising same-sex relations and failing to protect women and girls.”
“I am all too aware that these laws were put in place by my own country; they were wrong then and they are wrong now.
“As the UK’s prime minister, I deeply regret that those laws were introduce…as a family, we must respect one another’s cultures and traditions, but we must do so in a manner consistent with equality, as it is clearly stated in the Commonwealth charter.
“Nobody should face discrimination or persecution because of who they are or who they love and the UK stands ready to help any Commonwealth member wanting to reform outdated legislation that makes such discrimination possible.”

A final year female Unilag student was arrested today for stealing her boyfriend’s ATM card and using it to buy an iPhone 8 and X on Jumia.

According to reports, the lady bought other items on Jumia too. However, her boyfriend, in collaboration with Jumia, traced the buyer to Unilag’s Moremi Hall where the delivery was made.

That was how the suspect was arrested and handed over to the school’s DSA. An eyewitness said: “It appears, she's been scamming guys with her friends for a long time.

When the Jumia officials came to the hostel, she hid the phones in a bag and threw them in the dustbin. The girl is actually using an iPhone 7 Plus. However, upon realizing what was happening, the boyfriend demanded that the case be dropped.”

OAU Suspends Professor Richard Akindele Indefinitely Over Sex For Mark
User Avatar Forum: Universities
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 10:46 PM - No Replies

Quote:Femi Makinde, Osogbo

The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has suspended Prof. Richard Akindele, whose telephone conversation in which he demanded for sex from a female student was recorded and released on social media.

A member of the committee who pleaded anonymity confided this to our correspondent in Osogbo on Wednesday.

He said the committee recommended the suspension of the professor in a report of the committee set up by the university to probe the matter and to authenticate the veracity of the telephone conversation, where the lecturer demanded to have sex with the student five times before he would upgrade her mark from 33 to a pass mark.

In the leaked telephone conversation, the female student, who our correspondent gathered was a postgraduate student doing her Masters in Business Administration, initiated a call and asked the professor about their earlier discussion on the matter.

The member of the committee said, “The committee recommended the indefinite suspension of the professor pending the time the final report will be ready.

The committee established a prima facie case against the professor. But note that this is the interim report of the committee.

“The committee invited the professor and the female student. We identified the student and invited her, but she did not appear. Only the professor honoured our invitation. I don’t want to tell you what he said on the telephone.”

The committee member said the lady was an MBA regular student and added that the final report would be submitted after the lady might have appeared before the panel.

However, the Public Relations Officer of the OAU, Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju, when contacted on the telephone, told our correspondent that he would find out to know if the report was ready and get back. But he had yet to do that as of the time of filing this report.

The Vice Chancellor of the OAU, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, had, on Sunday, told our correspondent that the report of the committee would be ready on Wednesday and that it would be released to the public.

It will be recalled that the the lady had released a telephone conversation she allegedly had with the professor; and the lecturer was heard demanding sex with the lady.

The lady eventually rejected the condition given during the conversation.

Sorrow has filled the home of Mrs. Rita Emesim, the Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP) in charge of Administration in the Anambra command of the Nigeria Police Force as she lost her husband, CSP Oscar Emesim in a ghastly motor accident.

Recounting the story of her husband's demise, who was himself a police officer, amid tears; ACP Rita Emesim revealed that her husband was on the Enugu axis of the Awka-Enugu express way, when suddenly a herd of cattle walked into the expressway.

The late police officer's driver while trying to avoid the herd, rammed into a heavy duty truck, with the officer sustaining various degrees of injuries and died on the way to the hospital as a result of over bleeding.

Shortly after signing the condolence register, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Sir Norbert Obi, urged the widow to remain strong in this trying time as it was the will of God, pledging to stand by the family in this period.

He called on the various state governments and the federal government to be more decisive in checking the activities of these herdsmen, noting that CSP Oscar Emesim's death was avoidable.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

@POLITICSNGR

Below are snapshots of the Hoodlum that snatched the Senate's mace in today's shocking attack on the Nigerian senate.

PoliticsNGR gathered that the thugs suspected to be loyalists of a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-agege stormed the Senate and stole the mace in a bid to put a halt to proceedings.

it will be recalled that Omo-agege was suspended for 90 days for accusing his colleagues of working against president Muhammadu Buhari.

Sports 'abayas' now the craze for Saudi women

Sports 'abayas' now the craze for Saudi women
[Image: IMG_6162-e1524030145962.jpg]
Saudi women in sports abaya gowns
Colourful and oozing defiance, a sports-friendly version of the abaya gown was once considered a symbol of cultural rebellion in conservative Saudi Arabia, but it is fast becoming the new normal.
Pictures of female athletes running in the garb in the Red Sea city of Jeddah went viral last month, setting off a new debate on sartorial freedoms for women in a country where the typically all-black, body-shrouding garment is obligatory in public.
Some cultural purists vented fury online, calling it a breach of tradition, but opposition has been largely muted following recent comments from powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that the abaya — any abaya — is not mandatory in Islam.
Until a formal edict comes however, designers such as Eman Joharjy are cashing in on the growing popularity of the so-called sports abayas, as many women push back against traditional attitudes of equating chastity with dress code.
“There is a big demand,” Joharjy told AFP at her fashion studio in Jeddah.
“Having them in different colours is empowering.”
Saudi women jog in sports abaya
Akin to a zippered jumpsuit, sports abayas envelop a woman’s body but offer greater mobility for sporting activities, in contrast to the classic baggy version where tripping on the hem of the flowing garment is a common risk.
The 43-year-old’s designs come in colours like pistachio green, beige and white — more tolerable in the kingdom’s scorching heat — and she uses natural fabrics, including French poplin, that do not cling to a sweating body.
One of the early pioneers of the trend, Joharjy said she was branded a social outlier and jeered by some as “batman” when she began designing — and donning — sports abayas publicly in 2007.
“There was a little bit of rebellion but I designed it for myself, because it’s practical,” she said.
“You zip up and are ready to go.”
– ‘Soccer-themed abayas’ –
Joharjy has defied a popular maxim in Saudi Arabia: “If it’s not black, it’s not an abaya.”
Abayas have evolved over the years, with new patterns, fabrics and embellishments, and they are sometimes worn in the kingdom with baseball-style caps over headscarves.
The latest fad is an eye-catching ensemble of “soccer-themed abayas” — in the colours of the local teams, a new way for female sporting fans to cheer for their favourite players.
Such fashion trends are gaining momentum amid the kingdom’s liberalisation drive, including a historic royal decree allowing women to drive from June and enter sports stadiums for the first time.
The government is also seeking to jump-start women’s sports and is moving toward compulsory physical education classes for girls, after a ban was lifted in 2014.
Saudi officials recently announced that women would be able to participate next year in the Riyadh international marathon, previously a male-only event.
Women exercising in public were long a target for the kingdom’s austere religious police, which has largely been neutered in recent years.
And the once-unthinkable idea of doing away with the abaya appears to now be gaining traction.
“The laws are very clear and stipulated in the laws of Sharia: that women wear decent, respectful clothing, like men,” Prince Mohammed told CBS Television last month.
“This, however, does not particularly specify a black abaya. (It) is entirely left for women to decide what type of decent and respectful attire to wear.”
– ‘Modest look’ –
Muslim cleric Sheikh Ahmed bin Qassim al-Ghamdi added a new wrinkle to the debate when he dismissed the long-held view that black was the only colour for abayas permissible in Islam.
“The cloak is meant for maintaining a modest look and it does not have to be black,” the former chief of the religious police in the holy city of Mecca, told Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya television last month.
But the risk of a social backlash is real in a society steeped in conservatism.
“They look like cleaners!” a tweet said, in response to viral images of athletes dressed in sports abayas.
“Their purpose is not sports. We have all been running in full body veil,” tweeted another.
Back at Joharjy’s studio, a longtime client Marwa al-Hadi walked in wearing one of her designs with magenta sneakers.
“Abaya is like the Indian saree, it is part of our identity,” Joharjy told her, as they weighed in on the future evolution of the garment.
“But at the same time, if God did not want women to do sports, we would not have muscles or a body.”
Hadi nodded.
“It is no one’s business to stop and question what I’m wearing,” she said.

So called 'Men of God' in South Africa have succeeded in making a lot of us wish we were not Christians.

South African pastor turns pieces of cloth to food  (facebook)
Many years ago, Jesus Christ came on earth. During his time, he turned water to wine, cured a leper, removed demons and so many incredible miracles.
In his absence, Christianity was born and with it, came Men of God who have also performed some miracles in His name.
Some have succeeded in converting many souls with their divine acts, while others have only managed to mock the Christian religion.
I think it is safe to say that South African pastors fall into these second category with their 'miracles.'
With miracles like turning snakes to chocolate, turning petrol to wine, this 'Men of God' make a mockery of our religion.
Here are 10 times South African pastors embarrassed Christianity and make me want to change my religion.
1. Pastor Lesego Daniel walks on his members: In 2014, controversial South African pastor held a ‘deliverance session’, where he walked all over some of his church members, while the rest of the congregation looked on.

2. Pastor Aphiwe Ngevu preaches from a coffin: This South African pastor succeeded in scaring children with this method in 2015.

4. Pastor Penuel Mnguni orders female members to strip, walks over them during deliverance: End Times Disciples Ministries South African pastor held a strange deliverance session. There, he ordered some female members to strip, while he removed 'evil spirits' by sitting or walking over their naked bodies.

5. Pastor Mpho Moletsane sleeps with married women to remove sinful lust and thoughts: South African pastor made the news for sleeping with married women in order to cast out demons. This insane method eventually got him expelled from his church.
6. Prophet Paseka Motsoeneng blesses people’s underwear: In April, 2016, South African pastor of the Incredible Happenings ministries revealed that he blesses people's underwear. According to him, he does it to transfer anointing. “So instead of laying my hands, I speak the underwear. We call it tranferation of anointing, I speak the word of God into the underwear and the power of God gets in, “ he said in an interview with Jacaranda FM. 24-Yr-Old Lady, Axelle Reveals How She Was Forced To Make Love With Dogs & Horses
[size=undefined][Image: pity_girl.jpg]
A story about how a young woman, Axelle, was sold into prostitution in a foreign land, has been trending online for a while now. A 24-year-old Axelle was said to have met a young man, Jean Claude Fayard, who’s alleged to be a French businessman,  via the internet in October 2011. When this happened, little did the Cameroonian graduate of Aesthetics and Beauty know that her life was about crumbling down.
They had a normal chat like every other person would have when chatting with a stranger. Jean Claude told her he was a businessman based in Marseille (France) and was into import and export.
Feeling lost and alone
Their friendship became platonic and Axelle thought she had found the love of her life. On March 2012, Oga Claude came to visit her in Cameroon. Axelle’s people were joyous and there was a massive celebration at her aunt’s residence in Santa Barbara, Yaounde.
Two days in Cameroon, Jean Claude proposed to Axelle and got married to her in both traditional and legal ceremonies. Both marriages took place on March 18 and 20, 2012, respectively.
Jean Claude made all travelling arrangements and the both of them flew to France on March 21 that same year. He even gave Axelle’s family the sum of 600.000 FCFA for their upkeep. Not knowing that they were selling their daughter into sex slavery, the family happily bid the couple goodbye as they left for France.
Jean Claude is a pimp who comes to Africa, picks up girls to come and work as sex slaves for him in France. Since Axelle did not know about this, she would wish she never used the internet in her life. As the couple arrived France, they lived in a town called Clermont Ferrand for about 9 months after which they moved to a new place called Lourdes. It is in this place that Axelle had the worst experience of her life.
A few days after their arrival to Lourdes, a man came knocking on their door saying he wants to see Jean Claude. Little did Axelle know that he would be her first client who had already paid into her husband’s bank account. When Axelle called her husband’s attention to the guest, she was shocked when her husband told her to do whatever the guest tells her to do.
A few days later after coming home from work, Jean Claude sits Axelle and laid down the rules and regulations of the job. He told her she has to pay back all the money he spent on her in Cameroon. He calculated the amount to be more than 3,000 Euros and she will also be working for him for the next two years.
Axelle who became speechless thought she was dreaming. Jean Claude collected her personal belongings and all her documents. She was also not allowed to make any calls to the outside world. That was how she started entertaining male customers who would come for her service with any form of protection. But one day, Jean Claude came home with a customer accompanied by a dog.
The man whose name is Loiseau had deposited some money into Jean Claude’s account. Axelle who didn’t see this coming was pushed into the room and forced to have sex with the dog which she did. It is said that Jean Claude made more money when Axelle sleeps with an animal, a horse, for instance, so these deals became the order of the day.
After her encounter with the dog, Jean Claude left with Mr Loiseau leaving Axelle alone in the house. After numerous trials, she broke down the door and ran into the street where she met a Cameroonian couple living in the town. They helped her to get to the Embassy where she narrated her ordeal. The police searched his house and found evidence linking him to kidnapping and other serious allegations. Jean Claude was immediately arrested and is waiting for judgement. Meanwhile, Axelle flew back to Cameroon and was immediately taken to the hospital for further examinations and treatments.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned Wednesday morning’s invasion of the Senate chambers by some hoodlums who took away the mace.

In a statement issued by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi, the ruling party whose member, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, was alleged to have sponsored the attack, described it as an attack against democracy.

“The attention of the APC has been drawn to the invasion of the Nigerian Senate by suspected thugs who disrupted Wednesday’s plenary and made away with the mace.

“The APC hereby condemns this action and views it as an attack on our democracy and a desecration of the hallowed institution of the National Assembly.

“We therefore call on security agencies to take all necessary actions to recover the stolen mace and ensure that the perpetrators and their sponsors are brought to justice,” it said.

Several individuals suspected to be thugs had entered the Senate chamber during plenary around 11:30 am, snatched and went away with the mace.

Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, said in a statement that the Federal Government was shocked by the incident and has ordered a probe.

The security agencies are “to immediately unravel the circumstances surrounding the breach of security that led to the invasion”, the statement signed by a Special Adviser to the minister, Mr Segun Adeyemi, read in part.

In addition to that, the statement said security would also be reinforced to prevent a recurrence.

Man Has Been Locked In An Obsolete Machine For 60 Years

[Image: Lung_web-685x468.jpg]Polio sounds like some sort of medieval disease of the past, however there are some people who are currently relying on unwieldy machines called iron lungs to keep them alive.
Paul Alexander, a 70-year-old Texan man, has been living inside an iron lung machine for 60 years after contracting polio at the age of six.

In 2015, Nick Isenberg posted a video of Paul in his iron lung in an attempt to get help to maintain it because companies have stopped making the parts for his seemingly outdated machine.
Speaking to Gizmodo, Paul said:

There are only two or three of us left. I’ve tried all the ventilators available and this one is the best. It feels like a more natural way of breathing.
When I transferred to University of Texas, they were horrified to think that I was going to bring my iron lung down, but I did, and I put it in the dorm, and I lived in the dorm with my iron lung
I had a thousand friends before it was over with, who all wanted to find out what’s that guy downstairs with a head sticking out of a machine doing here.
Iron lungs, or a negative pressure ventilator, is a nearly-obsolete machine which helps a person to breath on their own in a normal manner when muscle control is lost.
It was invented in 1832 and the first of these devices was said to be widely used in 1928. Originally, it was powered by an electric motor with air pumps from two vacuum cleaners.
The air pumps changed the pressure inside a rectangular, airtight metal box, pulling air in and out of the lungs.
Paul, who spends nearly every moment in his iron lung in the centre of his living room, continued:

Once you live in an iron lung forever, it seems like, it becomes such a part of your mentality. Like if somebody touches the iron lung—touches it—I can feel that. I can feel the vibration go through the iron lung.
If there’s a slight bit of a vibration that occurs as the result of the mechanics—worn out the fan belt or it needs grease or anything like that—it tends to change the breath slightly. Yep, the iron lung’s a part of me, I’m afraid.
[Image: Lung2-685x468.jpg]Nick Isenberg/YouTube
Paul contracted polio in 1952 and is almost entirely paralysed below the neck, but it didn’t stop him going to law school and becoming a trial lawyer.
Sadly it’s close to impossible for Paul to make it to a trial, as he can’t leave the iron lung for a few hours and represent clients in a wheel chair like he used to.
These days, a polio vaccination is offered as part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme in the UK and is given via injection in five separate doses.
[Image: Lung3.jpg]NickIsenberg/YouTube
Alexander said if he had children, he’d make sure they were vaccinated, explaining:

Now, my worst thought is that polio’s come back. If there’s so many people who’ve not been—children, especially—have not been vaccinated… I don’t even want to think about it.
Thanks to the anti-polio vaccine, polio has been widely wiped out in Western society, with the disease now only regularly found in three countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria. Even then, only 37 cases in total were reported last year.
Paul is set to release his memoirs in the future.

Senate Demands Return Of Mace In 24 Hours After Thugs Invade National Assembly

National Assembly has ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to ensure the return of the Senate's mace within twenty-four hours.

The protesters which on Wednesday, April 18, stormed the Senate chamber and stole the mace. The alleged thugs were supporters of a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-Agege. The thugs left the National Assembly with the mace in a black SUV. The mace is the symbol of authority in the parliament.

A security personnel at the entrance of the National Assembly, said he was told by the protesters they were officers with the senator. “We tired to stop them but they told us they were with him (Omo-Agege),” he said. The Senate spokesman, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, in a statement issued after the incident, said that the Senate resumed plenary about 15 minutes after coming out of an executive (closed door) session where the earlier incident of forceful removal of the mace was deliberated upon.

He said: "The Senate has resumed plenary about 15 minutes ago after coming out of an executive (closed door) session where the earlier incident of forceful removal of the mace was deliberated upon. "The session is holding with the mace, the official symbol of authority firmly in place, and deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, presiding.

"The Senate also decided that it will get to the roots of this sad assault on democracy and an obvious act of treason which the seizure of the mace by some armed hoodlums represents. "The Senate has mandated the Inspector General of Police, Idris Kpotum Ibrahim and Director General of the State Security Services (SSS), Mallam Lawan Daura, to retrieve the mace stolen by the hoodlums within 24 hours. "At the moment, some House of Representatives members led by deputy Speaker, Yusuf Lasun, are in the Senate chambers in solidarity visits. The session is presently live on NTA Channel 10.

"We are determined to conclude all matters slated on the Order Paper for today, even if it means us sitting until 6pm."

Atiku Abubakar Reacts To Attack On Senate & Snatched Mace
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 09:43 PM - No Replies

Quote:Lagos – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the invasion of the Senate chamber by hoodlums and the carting away of the Mace – the symbol of authority of the upper chamber.
Reacting to the incident in Abuja on Wednesday, Atiku described the attack as a dangerous precedent and an assault on Nigeria’s democracy by anti-democratic elements.

“I am utterly embarrassed, shocked and outraged by this ugly development because it is not only a threat to a major democratic institution, but also represents a grave danger to the survival of our democracy.”

He said that given the tension in the country, the timing of the attack could not have come at a worse time for Nigeria, and that using illegal and unconstitutional methods to threaten the authority of a key democratic institution is unacceptable, evil, and condemnable.

The former Vice President noted that it is inconceivable that hoodlums could force their way into the Senate chamber and take away the Mace.

“If criminals could commit such security breach with impunity, it means that our entire democracy is in danger”, Atiku added.

He reminded Nigerians that so many people have died in order to bring this democracy about and therefore called for immediate investigation into the incident and the prompt prosecution of those involved.

“It is unacceptable and reprehensible to subject the National Assembly to this intimidation and humiliation. This attack by thugs should not go unpunished no matter who is involved”, he added.

Atiku while likening democratic institutions to the human body said “if one organ is harmed, it affects others.”

He urged those pushing the country’s political temperature to dangerous levels to desist from it as they are playing a Russian roulette with Nigeria’s hard-earned democracy.

He however called for unity, calm and an end to the culture of political disunity that is tearing our dear country apart.

BBNaija: CeeC "Tobi Bakre Is 29 Years Old, He Told Me That"

There is a possibility that Big Brother Naija housemate, Tobi was strangely born 'two times' as he claims to be 23 years old as well as being 29 years old according to scanty details revealed by his former strategic and romance partner Cee-C.

The toxic relationship between Cee-C and Tobi has continued today with the latter going on full attack on the University of Lagos graduate.

Cee-C vehemently criticized Tobi for serially gossiping about her with other housemates. She claims that Tobi isn't man enough and has been hovering around Alex, Anto as well as her in a bid to date one of them.

The controversial Cee-C accused Tobi of conspiring against her, gossiping about her, defaming her within the house, putting her up for eviction as well as making other frantic but futile effort to eject her from the reality show which promises a N45 million prize money.

During the dramatic session which lasted for about 40 minutes during which Tobi hardly uttered a sentence, Cee-C alleged that Tobi told her that he is 29 years old.

It would be recalled that Tobi's official age is 23 and this has raised the eyebrows of viewers considering the physical appearance and behavioural tendencies of the former employee of Heritage Bank Plc.

Tobi once revealed that he graduated from school at 18 and joined the bank in 2014 as a 19-year old.

Few hours after Cee-C and Tobi's altercation, biggie has issued Cee-C a strike.

He showed the Housemates a video of Cee-C insulting Tobi during their fallout.

Due to the provocative nature of the slurs thrown by Cee-C, Biggie awarded her a Strike and stern warning.

Biggie commended Tobi for staying calm throughout the issue and also told him that he should have not gone close to her during the period, however, Tobi was not issued a strike.

Biggie told him he will have a word with him later.

Actress Juliana Olayode and Funke Akindele set to reconcile???
[size=undefined][Image: 2-70-tile.jpg?resize=581%2C288&ssl=1]
It seems Rebirth Author and former Jenifa’s Diary star Juliana Olayode a.k.a Toyosi made moves to reconcile with her former friend and Boss, Funke Akindele and we are all getting this from her tweet
Juliana’s tweet which ended with #ThanksForPicking, made many believe Funke Akindele might be the one she might be reconciling with. The tweet reads in full;
I finally made the call It was so good hearing your voice again I love you and I miss you I hope we laugh together again soon #thankyouforpicking#youknowiloveyou#imissyou
See screenshot below…
[Image: Screen-Shot-2018-04-18-at-06.35.18.jpg?zoom=2&ssl=1]
Recall that in a cryptic message in the last days of March, Funke Akindele shared on Instagram, the Jenifa’s Diary star said she would not stop making stars out of individuals even if those she helped do not appreciate it.
According to the CEO of Scene one productions, “only God repays kindness, so expect less from people you have helped.” Although Funke Akindele mentioned no names and didn’t even personalize the message, many pointed fingers at former Jenifa star, Juliana Olayode a.k.a Toyo baby to be the object of Funke’s rants. The actresses have not been able to go back to being friends, since Juliana’s unceremonious departure from the series.
Sources close to the two colleagues, claim that money was the root of their problem. Apparently, Funke Akindele removed Toyo baby from the series because she demanded for more pay a source revealed to TNS. Akindele via her production manager and younger sister Abimbola, pays actors between N3,000 and N150,000 (per episode/season of the show) depending on their role.
Toyo baby’s request did not go down well with Funke, because she felt Toyo was being an ingrate since she rose to fame via her appearance on the popular show. Also, actors Lota Chukwu, Omotunde Lolo 1, Falz D Bahd Guy (who has since exited the show) and Olayode are the highest paid actors who take home N150,000 per season. The rest take home much less.
More popular stars like Tiwa Savage, Toke Makinwa and others who have had brief cameo appearances on the show reportedly got between N100,000 and N300,000 for ‘showing face’. As a result of their fallout, both Funke and Juliana Olayode unfollowed each other on social media.
Olayode Juliana aka Toyo baby gave a detailed explanation on why she left Funke Akindele’s Jenifa Diaries.
Read in full below
It hurts when people spread lies about you and you cannot do anything to defend yourself. But thank God for a platform like this.
I would be saying a lot of things; it would be a long read but I promise you would enjoy reading. I would be stating in clear terms the relationship I had with Aunty Funke.
I used ‘had’ and would be talking in past tense because like you know, I am presently not on the Jenifa’s Diary series. And guess what? The newsjust broke lately, but I have been off the series since May 2016 (last year); it’s been over a year already.
My post would be in two parts; who Aunty Funke was to me (Juliana), and then, who I was to her. These are things only few people know but I am ready to let the world know.
Yes! I will start with her. Why? She’s an amazing person and I can’t wait for you to know how lovely she is on a one-on-one basis. We all have our flaws but we choose rather to celebrate our strengths. Here goes!
Aunty Funke to Juliana!
COACH
Aunty Funke met me for the first time at the auditions of Jenifa’s Diary (she did not know me prior to that day). She saw my talent and believed in me. I worked with her for years; she trained me and helped me in becoming a better actress. She would not take anything short of excellence from her cast. I honestly have not seen anyone in Nollywood more hard working than Aunty Funke. And she made it a duty to correct me and coach me on being better.
BENEFACTOR
Aunty Funke helped pay my mum’s hospital bill for a fibroid surgery, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000), because I had no money at that time. She also gave to the ministry dear to my heart, MINE Teenage Ministry when we were preparing for an event, one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) and my pastor called to appreciate her. So apart from my pay as an actress on the series (which I won’t mention), that’s all I received from her money-wise, asides from change she gave me for transport when leaving set because as at then, I used to jump bus, ‘keke’ and bike to and fro set up until I left the series…lol. But in all, God used her to meet that major need in my life at that time.
BIG SISTER AND ADVISER
I fondly remember the times Aunty Funke would call me to her room while I was staying in her house (during set), and talk to me. She would take her time to advise me and encourage me as regards life in general. One particular day I treasure was the day she came to the room I stayed and told me, in a mother’s tone that I was beautiful and she warned me sternly never to bleach. I smile whenever I remember that. God bless her kind heart!
CHEERLEADER AND ENCOURAGER
Aunty Funke never ceased to celebrate me. Knowing how excellent she is at what she does (acting), I was shocked, elated and excited all at once the day she told me I was a good actress. She told me I would be great and celebrated. She saw years ago what is happening today. I am thankful for her words. Juliana to Aunty Funke!
UNOFFICIAL PA
I was privileged to be the one holding Aunty Funke’s bag while on set. I ‘kept’ the money we spent on day-to-day running and was required to balance account afterwards. I don’t like Mathematics, so that was a lot of work…lol. Money was never unaccounted for in my keep. I ran errands for Aunty Funke and made sure all that was needed was supplied.
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT MAKE-UP ARTIST
On set, on some occasions, when I was not acting, I was fanning and dabbing the faces of other actresses (including extras). So, this is for those that have accused me of being proud. Please ask those I fanned and dabbed while preparing to go on set later. On some occasions, I also did my own makeup and that of some other cast. All I wanted to do was SERVE; I wanted every set to be a success.
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT CATERER
On set, there were different occasions I served cast and crew (plus extras) food and water. At some points, I joined in washing plates when the plates were not enough to go round. And times I was not acting, and I saw the ‘Mamas’ needed help, I joined them in washing plates. They are alive to bear witness.
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT COSTUMIER
I hardly forget things I memorised, so I knew the continuity of major characters on the set. Aunty Funke used to ask Costumiers to confirm costumes with me. On some occasions.I had to go to set earlier than others and leave later than others to sort out costumes, including wigs and other accessories. I looked forward to doing it and never once complained
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT DRIVER
I could not drive while on Jenifa’s Diary set, and I still cannot…lol but I woke up early on different occasions to wash Aunty Funke’s car. The times I didn’t wash, I dusted the car. She is a neat person, so I made sure the inside of the car and the boot were tidy and clean. For me, it was pleasure serving Aunty Funke.
UNOFFICIAL CLEANER
I lived with Aunty Funke while set was on, so I counted it my duty to clean the house. She lived in a duplex at Chevron at that time, so I cleaned the entire house. Sweeping and moping from room to room. Scrubbing bathroom after bathroom. I arranged wardrobe after wardrobe, laid one bed after another. You would not know any of these if I am not saying this. I did all this with joy. She was special to me and you serve those you love.
UNOFFICIAL WASHER WOMAN
Aunty Funke is neat and very tidy and she does professional drycleaning. But there were times she needed a dress washed urgently and I helped her wash. Please don’t accuse me of being proud or rude to Aunty Funke again. I SERVED her WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
UNOFFICIAL COOK
Some of my fond memories with Aunty Funke are the times I cooked for Aunty Funke. I enjoyed cooking for her. I followed someone who lived with her then (name withheld) to market on different occasions to buy things we used to cook. Please note, I had a home of my own. I stayed with Aunty Funke only when we were shooting except times she specifically asked me to come over.
UNOFFICIAL MASSUER
I learnt how to massage with Aunty Funke; I learnt on the job…lol. I knew she was usually tired when we got back so it was my pleasure to relieve her; she sometimes slept off while I massaged her. There was a day we were on location and we did not take the oil. Someone offered oil but as I held it, my spirit was not at peace. So, I bowed my head and prayed over the oil. I did not know Aunty Funke was watching me. When I opened my eyes, she asked what I did and I told her. Her response was “O se oko mi”, translated, “thank you my dear”.
PRAYER PARTNER
There were different times Aunty Funke called me to pray on location, and sometimes at home. There was a time I gave her a Word of Knowledge. I had a dream once, I told her, and it happened the next day. I fasted and prayed with Aunty Funke and her sister. She called me to pray with her at midnight at some points. She knew from the onset that I was a Christian and that I was committed to prayer. There were different times we both prayed and asked God to give us sponsors. So, for those that have accused me of being “holier-than-thou”, that is the real me o! Everybody on every set I have gone, including Jenifa’s Diary, know I am unapologetically sold out to Jesus. I am not ‘deceiving’ anybody. That is my ‘real face’…lol
SCRIPT ADVISER
I had the pleasure of sitting and gisting with Aunty Funke at different points, whether at home or in the car. We would talk about the script. She sometimes had inspirations in the car and she would ask me to write it down so she doesn’t forget, and she would ask my opinion. I treasure those moments. Interestingly, there was a day we were talking at the house and her husband was there. I talked about loving High School movies and Musicals. I said I wondered why we didn’t have such in Nigeria. Then, we all started talking. JJC Skills even ‘drafted’ me into it already but we were just talking lightly. It is my joy that “INDUSTREET” is a reality today!
Let me stop here! So, with these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that you shouldn’t believe everything you read until you hear from the source.
Your question now is, what happened? Hmmm! We had a misunderstanding and I cannot disclose what happened without Aunty Funke’s permission. But if you read all I said in the post, you would gather that we were quite close. And when two people get that close, misunderstandings are bound to occur.
All I have said, you can confirm. 100% truth and UNCENSORED!!!
So, it is God, who saw my faithfulness and commitment, Who is rewarding me and announcing me to the world. Dear aspiring celeb, please SERVE and not seek to be served.
Please do well to share this post on your social media platforms via the buttons beneath this post so we can spread the TRUTH of what went down. My name has been tarnished by liars and bloggers seeking traffic. God have mercy on them!
Whew!!! This was long! Thank you for reading and allowing me pour out my mind in love. I am just a human being who does not want to be maligned falsely!

The reproductive system of a 12-year-old girl, Faith Nwanja, who was allegedly tortured and mutilated by her mistress, Mrs Nkechi Bartholomew for being too stubborn has been seriously damaged.

The revelation was made, yesterday, by the Ebonyi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, while briefing journalists on the development. Nwanja, was tortured, mutilated and abandoned by Bartholomew.

Bartholomew, a childless woman and seamstress adopted Nwanja and took her to Onitsha, Anambra State, when she was eight years and allegedly disfigured her.

The woman allegedly inserted sticks inside the girl’s private parts which have caused her serious damage to the reproductive system. Nwanja has shocking scars and injuries all over her body, including eyes, mouth, head.

She also has bloodied mouth and has lost one of her hands to torture. Briefing journalists yesterday, Head of Department, Child Development of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Godwin Igwe said the health condition of Faith has worsened.

“The child has been undergoing medical examination by team of expert gynaecologists, a team of orthopaedic doctors, a team of expert opmologists because of serious harm inflicted on her reproductive system, her hand, her ear, her teeth all over.

Last week, her medical examination was concluded and the hospital management said the report will be released to the police as soon as it is demanded”, he said. Igwe accused the state Police command of refusing to arraign the suspect.

IDPs In Nasarawa Throw Stones At Convoy Of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura

Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 05:17 PM - No Replies

Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in Nasarawa state today threw stones at the convoy of the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura , during his assessment visit to some of the IDP camp in Obi local government area of the state.
The aggrieved IDPs were protesting the killing of their relations by suspected Fulani herdsmen. They alleged that the state government was doing little or nothing to protect them and stop the incessant killings. 32 persons were reportedly killed in a recent attack by armed bandits in the state.
Reacting to the incident, governor Al-Makura said the action of the protesting IDPs is “understandable in view of the psychological trauma they are passing through,”.. He vowed to ensure that peace returns to all the communities that have so far been attacked.
The riot policemen on the governor’s convoy were able to disperse the aggrieved IDPs through the use of tear gas, paving the way for his escape.
Speaking on the incident, the state commissioner of Police, Bello Ahmed, said the attack was politically motivated. Ahmed added that a number of arrests have been made.
The governor could not proceed to Keana IDP camp as arranged after the attack. https://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2018/04/i...w.html?m=0

Shehu Sani’s Belt Replaces Stolen Maze as Senate Continues Proceeding

The senators have refused to adjourn sitting, as Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central removed his belt from his waist and laid on the table to serve as mace.

Completely shocked by the invasion of the Senate during sitting and the theft of the mace, senators deliberated on whether to adjourn sitting or not but Senator Sani and others insisted that deliberations must continue

In an official tweet minutes after the madness, Senator Sani stated:

Quote:”The Senate invaded. Mace taken away. Deliberations on whether to adjoined or not. I and others insisted that the senate must not adjoin. I removed my waist Belt and lay to serve as a mace for us to continue, My colleagues seconded. Then a spare mace brought in and the session continued. Good Drivers are not known when the road is smooth.”

Killer Herdsmen: Sultan Gives Miyetti Allah 2 Month-ultimatum
User Avatar Forum: Politics
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 04:47 PM - No Replies

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has given Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) two months to identify and apprehend herdsmen behind killings in Nigeria.

He gave the order during the formal swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executives of MACBAN in Sokoto, on Tuesday.

The monarch also charged the leadership of MACBAN to find out whether Fulani herdsmen are actually responsible for the killings across the country or not.
The Sultan lamented the labelling of Fulanis as the killer herdsmen.

According to Abubakar, “To you the newly elected leadership of MACBAN, I want to remind you that your task is a very challenging one. Don’t forget that Fulanis are also being killed in Nigeria and no media attention is given to it.

“However, we are giving you two months to go round the entire country and find out why Fulanis are accused of being behind the killings. Go and find out who are those Fulanis doing the killings. Also find out if it is other people that are doing the killings and are accusing the Fulanis. Please, we want to get the truth from you within two months.

“We are not ashamed to be called Fulanis because Fulanis are not trouble makers. Despite the fact that any wrong doing in Nigeria now is erroneously said to be caused by Fulanis.

“We however want people to know that though there might be bad ones amongst the Fulanis, just like there are in every race, that is not enough justification to generalise that all Fulanis are bad.”

Quote:Leke Baiyewu, Abuja

The Senate has stepped down the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill which seeks to reshuffle the sequence of polls in a general election.

The bill, which was considered for second reading, suffered a setback when several lawmakers across party lines who spoke in the debate on it, raised various issues against the amendment.

The lawmakers resolved that the bill be stepped down and referred to the Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission, with a mandate to remove the clauses faulted by President Muhammadu Buhari, for which he withdrew his assent.

The parts not faulted by the President would be sent back to him for assent.

Ngozi Olejeme In $2.8m, Multiple Passports, 50 Accounts With Many Banks Scandal
User Avatar Forum: Politics

•EFCC begins probe

Quote:Posted By: Yusuf Alli

UNDER what circumstance did former Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSTIF) Chairperson Dr. Ngozi Olojeme obtain $2.8 million and N240 million from a businessman, Prince Arthur Eze?
This is the puzzle the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is trying to unravel as it probes Olojeme over the matter.

She was said to have collected the N240million from an account with no Bank Verification Number (BVN).

She is also in fresh trouble for operating 50 accounts with different names in different banks and links with five companies.

The companies are Able -Jes Nigeria Ltd; Juliand Nig. Ltd; Majesty Mining and Construction Company Ltd; and Fresh Energy Limited.

But the most startling revelation was the recovery of multiple passports from Olojeme’s house by EFCC detectives.

She has a Ghana International Passport No. H2619481 in the name of Amartey Doris and one Ghana International Driving Licence permit with number IDP 0008462 in the name of Amartey Doris with all carrying her pictures.

Following these findings, the EFCC re-arrested and released Olojeme on bail on Monday.

There were indications that apart from the fraud case, she might be arraigned for using fake names to secure a Ghanaian passport.

A fact-sheet obtained from the EFCC indicated that Olojeme, who was the Deputy Chairman, Finance Committee of 2015 PDP/ Jonathan Campaign Committee, borrowed the $2.8million and N240million to contest for the party’s governorship ticket in 2014.

But shortly after getting the cash from Eze, she stopped picking his calls.

A petition from Eze, who is the Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Oranto Petroleum Limited accounted for the ongoing investigations.

“When they (detectives) initially arrested her, they confiscated her Nigerian passport. They later searched her house at 25, Kainji Crescent in Maitama and in the course of the search found a Ghanaian driver’s licence and multiple passports, including those of ECOWAS, Ghana and diplomatic passport under different names.

“EFCC is investigating her for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence which was reported to the commission by Prince Arthur Eze, MD/CEO of Oranto Petroleum Limited. The case was referred to the Advance Fee Fraud Unit.”

The document gave the details of the case against Olojeme.

It added: “In April 2014, Mrs. Olojeme approached Prince Eze that she intended to contest for the governorship election in Delta State and she had put up her properties for sale to raise money. She sought for assistance from the complainant.

“He further stated that he demanded to see the properties she intended to sell but she refused to show him. She however pleaded with him to trust her claiming she will never disappoint him.

“He added that at the initial stage he refused but after persistent pressure from her, he decided (Based on Trust) and paid the total sum of $2.8million into her Fidelity Bank domiciliary account and also the total sum of N240million into her Fidelity Bank account on the condition that she will return the money before the end of 2015.

“That between 2nd April, 2014 and 25th March, 2015 the total sum of USD $2.8million was paid to Ngozi Olojeme from the account of Oranto Petroleum Ltd by the complainant.

“ That between 25 July, 2014 and 6th November, 2014, the total sum of 240million Naira was also transferred from the account of Oranto Petroleum Ltd by the complainant.

“ That the said Olojeme’s Fidelity Bank account number 4021090292 where this money was paid into was not registered or linked to the BVN.

“That immediately she collected the money from him, she stopped picking his calls.”

EFCC also released insights into some fresh findings on Olojeme which necessitated her re-arrest.

The fact-sheet said: “That the BVN search conducted on Olojeme’s account shows that she operates over 50 bank accounts using different names with different banks.

“That Ngozi Olojeme is the director and sole signatory of the account of Able -Jes Nigeria Ltd and Juliand Nig. Ltd.

“That in the course of the search carried out in her house, one Ghana international passport Number: H2619481 in the name of Amartey Doris and one Ghana International Driving Licence permit with number IDP 0008462 in the name of Amartey Doris all carrying the pictures of Ngozi Olojeme were recovered.

“That one ECOWAS Travel Certificate with No. 232/270052 in the name of Osakwe Justina Otito carrying the picture of Olojeme was recovered.

“That one Nigerian diplomatic passport with No. F50000049 in the name of Olojeme Juliet Ngozi was also recovered.

“Further recoveries made during the search include:
A list titled “ Properties and their locations” with a total of 37 properties at different locations in Delta, Bayelsa and Abuja;

One ECOWAS Certificate with No. 232/254586; A document titled “ Report and Action Plan as at 21st March, 2018” with names of companies and some properties in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt;

A single pay statement of account from Stanbic IBTC South Africa addressed to. Mrs. J.N Olojeme;

A copy of Certificate of incorporation for Majesty Mining and Construction Company Ltd;
Company seal of Fresh Energy Limited;
One plain letterhead of Office of the President of Nigeria Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce.

“Investigation is still ongoing, further development will be communicated in due course,” the document added.

This is the second time the ex-NSITF boss will be in EFCC net.

The EFCC is probing about N62.3billion fraud in NSITF with $48,485,127 credited to Olojeme.

Olojeme, who was grilled by the EFCC in January, is still on administrative bail with a responsibility to report fortnightly for interaction.

She insists that she is innocent of the allegations against her, but her Account Officer, Chuka Eze, has spilled the bean.

The anti-graft agency has arraigned former NSITF Managing Director, Umar Munir Abubakar and four others for alleged diversion of N18billion.

Kenyan Woman Returns After Being Raped And Jailed In Saudi Arabia

Kenyan Woman Returns After Being Raped And Jailed In Saudi Arabia
[Image: ngolo.jpg]
[b]A 27-year-old Kenyan woman has returned home after a one-year ordeal in a Saudi Arabian prison.

Levina Mapenzi Ngolo, who was jailed for allegedly engaging in illicit sex, returned home from Riyadh last Thursday night aboard an Ethiopian airliner.
In her arms was a two-year-old boy she says she conceived as a result of the rape.
Ngolo, who worked as a house help, said she was raped by an Indian migrant.
They were employed by the same person and stayed in the same flat. She said the man threatened her with a knife.
However, Ms Ngolo was charged, under Saudi Arabia’s law, with engaging in sex outside marriage and jailed. Her attacker is still serving his three-year jail term.
Ngolo said her legs were chained all the time she was in prison. She gave birth to her son in prison after a seven-month court battle.
She said she was handed back her passport at the airport, shortly before boarding the plane back to Kenya.
Ngolo, who spoke at her parents’ home in Frere Town in Mombasa, claimed her Indian attacker, a driver, raped her overnight in 2016.
“The driver took advantage of the absence of our employer to attack me. Our employer had gone to visit her children. He accosted me as I came out of the house,” said Ngolo.
While in prison, Ngolo said, inmates were often beaten but she was spared because of her pregnancy.
Ngolo’s sister, Esther Kaidza, said a Kenyan woman called in September 2016 to inform her that her sibling had been arrested.
“A woman who was speaking Arabic was the first one to call me but we were unable to communicate because of language barrier. Later, the Kenyan called me. She said Lavina was in custody for sleeping with a driver and becoming pregnant, contrary to the laws of that land,” Kaidza said.
Ngolo said she could not immediately report the incident to her employer for fear of the consequences.
But after some time, she started feeling sick. That is when her employer took her to hospital. She tested positive for pregnancy.
“It was my employer’s son who first expressed suspicions that I could be pregnant. After the truth came out, his mother suggested that I be quietly returned to Kenya. However, her son took me to a police station, where I was immediately arrested,” said Ngolo.
Her attacker was beaten up and taken to the police station. They were both charged with engaging in illicit sex.
Ngolo was sentenced to one year in jail because she did not consent to sex while the driver was jailed for three years. She said she was not allowed to attend clinic until she gave birth.
Her father, Ngolo Baya, 75, said he was happy to welcome his daughter and her baby back home.
"The entire family was shocked when we learnt of her arrest in a foreign country,” Baya said.

China's Property Investment Fastest In Three Years But Sales Slow

China's Property Investment Fastest In Three Years But Sales Slow
[Image: china-property_prices_pek303.jpg]
China’s real estate investment posted its fastest year-to-date growth in three years and new construction accelerated in the first quarter, however, property sales slowed as borrowing costs rose and demand appeared to soften.

Property investment grew 10.4 percent in January-March from the same period a year earlier, compared with a 9.9 percent rise in the first two months, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on Tuesday. This matched the year-to-date growth seen in the January-February 2015 period.

Real estate directly affects 40 other business sectors in China and is a major driver for the economy. But a boom since 2016 has raised bubble concerns and prompted a flurry of government measures to tame soaring home prices.

Chinese policymakers are seeking to engineer a soft landing without roiling the economy as a sharp decline in prices and investment would weigh on industrial activity and dampen consumer confidence.

The investment number mainly focuses on residential real estate but also includes commercial and office space.

For March alone, property investment grew a robust 10.8 percent from same period last year, according to Reuters calculations based on official data.

The solid property activity appeared to support broader growth in the first quarter. China’s economy grew 6.8 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier, slightly above expectations in a Reuters poll and unchanged from the previous quarter.

New construction starts measured by floor area, a gauge of developers’ confidence, were up 9.7 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, after slowing to 2.9 percent in January-February, NBS data showed.

Property investment is estimated to grow 5 percent in the full year of 2018 as tight supply and government policies that promote real estate in smaller cities are seen keeping the market relatively buoyant despite other cooling measures, a Reuters poll showed.

Investment growth is also likely to be further cushioned by a rush to build rental apartments as major Chinese developers respond to President Xi Jinping’s call for more rental supply to address people’s housing demand as affordability fades.

However, tightening measures are expected to be gradually extended to smaller cities seen at risk of overheating.

Property sales by floor area rose by 3.6 percent in January-March from a year ago, easing from a 4.1 percent gain in the first two months of the year, NBS data showed.

In March alone, property sales rose 3.2 percent, according to Reuters calculations based on NBS data.

How To Identify A Scam Interview Invitation
User Avatar Forum: Jobs/Vacancies
Posted by: Edoman - 04-18-2018, 01:08 PM - No Replies

I have seen so many CONTRIPEOPLE complaining and lamenting their ordeal in the hands of fake scam companies who invite people for interview only to introduce them to fake drug marketing business.
I'm doing this not only because these companies waste people's time, energy and T-fair going to such interviews, but also because most of these scammers extort money from hapless job seekers thereby making their suffering times two.
Imagine a scammer extorting #10,500 from a graduate who have been unemployed for years, not to talk of the transport fare wasted going to such fruitless interviews or job chat as they usually call it.
Some people even borrow money to pay these sheep in wolves clothing, who promise them heaven on earth. Some will tell you that you will make half a million within 1 month and all that. If you're not careful, you will take a loan that you will not be able to repay thus causing embarrassment and lack of rest of mind. An unemployed person should have only himself to worry about, not having debts also.

So I believe that if we are properly guided, we will not fall into the hands of these scammers.
Having said that, there are ways by which one can identify a fake or scam interview invitation and there fore avoid such waste of time and money. The good thing is that most of their messages come in the same format, so you will know its fake!

1. The message does not bear a company name: most of these scammers won't include their names on the message you will receive. All you will see are the address, the time and date and a phone number. A genuine company will not hide its identity from a potential employee.

2. The message will say "interview/job briefing": whatever job briefing means I don't know!
3. You will see a code or reference: something like "HR=0056" or "REF=002". This is an indication of the code number of the person who invited you to the "job briefing".
4. It will contain a phone number: this is the number of your referer. Most genuine companies don't give phone numbers.
5. You will see HR Admin in the message instead of company name
6. If you call their number, they will be reluctant to give info on the company.

And pls, ignore those people sharing job flyers on the streets, and those ones they paste on walls. Those are scammers and some ritualists too. And also most of these so called agencies are avenues for duping unsuspecting job seekers. Pls shine your eyes well well.
I will post the names of some of these fake companies/ agencies later.

Pls if you have any experiences inthe hands of these scammers kindly share it here so that others can learn and avoid them too. Thank you
