A 13-year-old girl, Treasure Ofuya, who was declared missing in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, has been found.

Acting spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Bright Odafe, who confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, May 6, said the teen is in the custody of the police at Oghara, Ethiope West.

"Missing Treasure Ofuya has been found in Oghara, she is currently with the police and will be reunited with her family soon,” he stated.

It was gathered that the girl left her school, New Era Model School Jakpa Road Effurun, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, but did not return home following a misunderstanding she had with her mother the previous day. All efforts made to her whereabouts proved abortive.

Speaking with journalists in Warri on Monday, her mother, Faith, said they both had a misunderstanding the previous evening over the misuse of her phone.

"Treasure went to school on Wednesday although we had a little issue on Tuesday evening. I seized her phone because she was not supposed to take it to school and she was not supposed to have a SIM card. But we noticed that she had a SIM card. I was angry with her and I seized the phone," Mrs Ofuya said.

"On Wednesday, she bathed and went to school at New Era, Jakpa Road. After school, she used to attend a lesson close by, just across the Jakpa Road. But she did not get to the lesson that day. From school, she just disappeared" she added.

Arewa, Afenifere, PANDEF, Ohanaeze, others angry as presidency alleged there’s plot to “overthrow Buhari”

The Presidency has come under fire over its Tuesday allegation that it has evidence that some ‘disruptive elements’ are planning to recruit ethnic groups and politicians to pass a vote of no confidence on the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The allegation by the Presidency, though came short of directly accusing the ‘disruptive elements’, which it described as religious leaders and former political leaders, of planning to overthrow the Buhari administration, its use of words, including earlier statements by the Military and the Department of State Services (DSS), were read by Nigerians, including prominent members of the Nigerian society and groups, to mean that the Presidency was alluding to an overthrow of the government.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Robert Clark obviously stirred the hornet’s nest when, during a television interview, suggested that the military should take over government temporarily in order to restructure the country.
Clark’s, suggestion, though unpopular with Nigerians, came on the heels of growing discontent in the country over worsening insecurity that has led to unprecedented fear in the country, and calls for President Buhari to rein in the criminal elements terrorising Nigerians.

Mr. Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in a statement on Tuesday, said the motive behind the plan by the ‘disruptive elements’ was to throw the country into further turmoil.

The statement read: “The Department of State Services on Sunday alerted on sinister moves by misguided elements to wreak havoc on the government, sovereignty and corporate existence of the country.

“Championed by some disgruntled religious and past political leaders, the intention is to eventually throw the country into a tailspin, which would compel a forceful and undemocratic change of leadership.

“Further unimpeachable evidence shows that these disruptive elements are now recruiting the leadership of some ethnic groups and politicians round the country, with the intention of convening some sort of conference, where a vote of no confidence would be passed in the President, thus throwing the land into further turmoil.

“The caterwauling, in recent times, by these elements, is to prepare the grounds adequately for their ignoble intentions, which are designed to cause further grief for the country.

“The agent provocateurs hope to achieve through artifice and sleight of hands, what they failed to do through the ballot box in the 2019 elections.”
Peeved by the allegation by the presidency, several Nigerians and groups, including the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Afenifere, the Yoruba sociocultural group, the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Middle Belt Forum (MBF) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), among others, have come hard on the presidency, accusing it of heating up the polity and reading meanings to every sincere comment and advice by Nigerians.

For the ACF, it was uncharitable for the Presidency to see and call every dissenting voice or perceived critics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government as disgruntled elements.
The group, which spoke through its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, said the Presidency has a penchant for viewing every critic with dark motives, which it said was wrong.
“The Presidency must be broad-minded enough to accommodate all shades of opinions. The criticism is done in good faith and if acted upon will help improve the situation in the country. It is wrong to see all critics as disgruntled, religious and past political leaders with dark motives. Some of them mean well for the government and the country”, the ACF spokesman said.

PANDEF on its part, accused the Presidency of chasing shadows instead of looking for how to surmount the myriad of problems facing the country.
According to PANDEF’s spokesman, Ken Robinson, tagging religious leaders and past political leaders as disgruntled elements under the current security situation in the country was shocking and least expected.
“PANDEF cautions that the Presidency should stop chasing shadows. Citizens are anxious and troubled, many are becoming hopeless, with even the security agencies seemingly helpless and vulnerable”, Robinson said.

For the PDP, the statement from the Presidency only shows that President Buhari and the ruling APC were being haunted by their shadows, insisting that they are afraid of experiencing what they did to others in the past.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP added that the allegation by the Presidency was only a desperate attempt by the Buhari administration to blackmail Nigerians to cover up for its failures.

“Rather than live up to the responsibilities of office by taking charge and securing our nation, the Presidency is busy engaging in frivolous allegations against Nigerians.
“It is, however, imperative to state that the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress are being haunted by their own shadows as Nigerians know the persons as well as the political party with the history and penchant to scuttle democratically elected governments.

“Perhaps, the Presidency has forgotten that in 1983, Brigadier Muhammadu Buhari, as he was then known, led a military coup to truncate a democratically elected government thereby causing our nation a huge drawback on democratic governance.

“Also, in 2015, the APC, which was hurriedly formulated, made itself available as a vehicle of brigandage to disrupt our political process by beguiling Nigerians and taking power through violence, propaganda and falsehood”, the party said.

For elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai, the Buhari administration was only embarking on scaremongering by issuing statements on such a serious issue, adding that he does not support any change of government other than through the ballot box.

Yakasai said: “It is not enough to embark on scaremongering by issuing statements on such a serious issue. We have yet to recover from the violent overthrow of the Tafawa Balewa-led first Republic by young military officers. I do not support any change of government other than that which comes through the ballot box.”

The apex Igbo sociocultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, also distanced itself from the allegation by the Presidency, saying it is not interested in anything coup.

The group’s spokesman, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, however, said that even the President himself knows that all was not well with the country.

“Ohanaeze is not interested in anything coup. Ohanaeze is interested that the President should listen to us and address the nation. The President should reorder his steps. He should root his governance in justice because everything has become injustice especially to the Igbo,” he said.
The Middle Belt Forum (MBF), on its part, viewed the allegation by the Presidency as an insult to the sensibilities of Nigerians, reminding the President that Nigeria was operating a democratic system of government.

The group’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Isuwa Dogo said: “We view the statement as an expression of guilt by the Presidency for the deteriorating situation of things in the country including insecurity and its inability to stop it.”

For the Afenifere, the allegation was a non issue, as its leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo insisted that Afenifere and other sociocultural groups in the South are only interested in the peaceful restructuring of the country.

“Who is interested in passing a vote of no confidence in Buhari? Who has confidence in Buhari before let alone pass any vote of no confidence in him”, Adebanjo asked.

Expectedly, Nigerians took to the social media, especially the micro blogging site, Twitter to express their anger and views on the allegation from the Presidency, with most declaring that it was a mere propaganda to divert attention from the real issues begging for attention.

For many, the allegation was also in line with the known blame game of the Buhari administration.
For Twitter user @IdorenyinEtuk5, an amendment of the Nigerian constitution to allow for citizens to call for early elections if not happy with government’s performance would have exposed the Buhari administration.

He wrote: “Let presidency call for amendment to the constitution to allow for citizens to call for early elections if they are dissatisfied with their govt and let’s see how Buhari will fair since they are worried about calls for Buhari’s removal as if it were illegal. DSS are so worthless to have said that it was a threat to national security. Same DSS that has nothing to offer where real threats to citizens are concerned. DSS must be scrapped, all its point men and women sacked.”

For @Abdultiggi, if removing the President will bring solution to the problems in the country, so be it. He wrote: “If by removing him will bring solution to the country then why not? Insecurity is killing our nation”, while @cthereality, concurred with him, declaring the statement from the Presidency was a cheap propaganda.
“My brother, this is the cheapest propaganda I’ve ever heard. Instead of facing the reality on ground, they’re busy raising false alarm. All we need is security. If they can’t secure us, what options do we have?”, he said.

For @sticksnsnares, removing the President to have a secure Nigeria is a welcome idea. He wrote: “Whatever they can do to remove him is on course. killings and kidnappings everyday and the President has refused to do anything but raising force alarm.

A President that cannot come out openly to address his people, all we see are pictures. Prices of goods increase everyday”, while @udehNudeh prayed for the success of the plot, if there is any, insisting that Buhari did same thing before.. He wrote: “May the plot succeed. Why is @MBuhari afriad of being overthrown? But he had overthrown someone and made someone’s Government ungovernable…. He who lives in a glass shouldn’t throw stones….”

For @DopplerFilmz, removing President Buhari would not be any big deal because he was once removed. “He was removed the first time, removing him again, at this time, will be a blessing to this nation”, he wrote while @creality wants government to concentrate on the real issues. “Please stop diverting our attention and fix what’s facing us. What a cheap propaganda”, he said.

@ucheclive believes the allegation by the presidency was part of the blame game of the Buhari administration, while @tobiduddleycoker wondered why the President and his handlers are afraid. “@MBuhari @GarShehu @FemAdesina you all are afraid; nobody is removing Buhari forcefully. Your ghost is chasing you. It is better @MBuhari resigns honorably for being a failure”, he wrote, while @abelcifezie declared that the government was merely chasing shadows.

He wrote: “Being chased by their shadows. No more, no less. Alleged #EndSars sponsors were “unmasked” in less than two weeks and their accounts frozen! Why can’t these people, who are more dangerous, be unmasked and picked up? Smells like a hoax, or a kite being flown!”

Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume has alleged that things are so bad within the Nigerian Army.

Ndume said the Nigerian Army now rations ammunition for soldiers.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, the lawmaker said military personnel were lamenting over the lack of funds.
Ndume lamented that soldiers no longer carry new AK-47 rifles.

He noted that the situation of insecurity had gotten to a stage where citizens negotiate with criminals elements to ensure peace.

According to Ndume: “Never in the history of this country has Nigeria been challenged from various angles like this time. It has gotten so bad that in this country of ours, citizens now negotiate with criminals to live in peace.

“When we confront the Nigerian army, ‘why are you not performing?’, they will tell us ‘we don’t have money; we only manage with what we have.’
“I interact with the armed forces very regularly. It is so bad that the Nigerian Army is rationing ammunition. Rationing is common.

They ration ammunition. I have gone round the formations; I have not seen a Nigerian soldier holding a brand new AK-47 yet.”
Boko Haram and bandits have been on the prowl in the Northern part of the country.

Several students have been abducted and killed by these terrorist groups.

How Obasanjo, Gumi & Father Of A Bandit Facilitated Release Of Afaka Students

Quote:After nearly two months in captivity, students abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, regained freedom.

Daily Trust reported how 27 students of the 37 abducted from their school dormitories were freed on Wednesday.

Their captors had earlier released 10 of them, in two batches.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Sheik Ahmad Gumi played key roles in the negotiation.

But Daily Trust gathered that aside these prominent men, one other person who made the innocent students regain freedom is the father of one of the bandits.

According to reliable sources, the negotiation process suffered setbacks after a leader of the abductors, known as Buderu, reneged on his promise even after a N15 million ransom had been paid.

Daily Trust learnt that father of one Buhari, alias General, who is also a fierce bandit, had to be brought in.

Sources said the bandit’s father used his son to force Baderu to agree on the deal but Buderu insisted that even if no more money would be given to him, a relative of his arrested at Falgore Forest in Kano State, must be released.

The students were freed after the government agreed to release the arrested cattle rustler simply identified as Laulu.

Before the meeting was declared close-doors, Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan assured the guests to the Senate Chambers of their readiness to look into their challenges.

In his address, he said: “You recall our resolution to invite them for briefing on security situation in our dear country.
“On behalf of all of us Senators, I want to welcome this team and let me quickly assure all of you that indeed this Senate or the entire National Assembly is and will remain a partner in progress with you.

“Once again, I welcome you and trust us with what you think will help us as a parliament to help the cause of Armed forces and other security agencies to perform better because you haven’t achieved the optimum and I can attribute that to inadequate resources.

81 year old woman testifies how she was raped by her grand nephew

An elderly Brooklyn woman has recounted the vile moment her great-nephew raped her.

Speaking in gruesome detail at the man’s trial in Brooklyn Supreme Court Wednesday, May 5, the 81-year-old woman, tearfully recounted how her great-nephew Jewell Powell, 36, attacked her while she let him stay in her home, New York Daily News reports.

A great nephew or Grand nephew is the grandson of one's brother or sister.

She allowed Powell to live on her couch for about a month in 2019 but on June 13, 2019, everything changed.

“He was my favorite,” she testified. “I hate him.”

“I was in my bedroom watching TV. I got up to go to the kitchen. He was there naked. He grabbed me,” she recalled.

Powell then dragged her to her bedroom and raped her, she testified.

According to her, she fought back, which annoyed Powell the more.

“When I kicked him, he put me back on the bed, put his hands on my throat and said, ‘Next time you do that I’ll smother you,’” she said.

Afterward, Powell gave his great-aunt a knife and told her to kill him, the woman told the court.

When she refused to, he threatened to kill himself, she said.
She later revealed the incident to her grandson and daughter who reported him to police.

Powell was arrested two days later and has been held at Rikers Island on $70,000 bail since.

Government has always paid ransom, not only this government even during Jonathan's administration - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has disclosed that the Buhari and Jonathan administrations paid ransom to kidnappers.

Obasanjo made the disclosure while hosting members of Tiv professionals Group (TPG) at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Wednesday May 5.

The former President who noted that those in power have always denied doing so, urged them to develop a means to deal with kidnappers and bandits as against ransom payment.

He said;

Quote:“Government has always paid ransom. Not only this government, even during Jonathan (administration). They paid ransom, but they deny it."

He also maintained that fighting insecurity to a standstill requires a “carrot and stick” approach.

Obasanjo added;

Quote:“Some people are still reaching out, and hoping that lives can still be saved. But a situation whereby anybody thinks paying ransom is the way out, that person is folly. He is a folly. This is because when you pay ransom, you encourage. But if you are not going to pay ransom, you must have the means to deal heavily with it. You must have the stick to deal with it."

Truck crushes two DELSU final year students to death

Two final year students of the Delta State University (DELSU) Abraka, Emmanuel Maduka and Timeyin Okoromadu, have been crushed to death by a cement-laden truck.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 4, when the truck tried to avoid a motorcyclist and another vehicle plying the ever-busy Police station road in Abraka.

The truck skidded off the road and fell on the side where it crushed the victims.

The two students of the Economic department were said to be best friends and were supposed to graduate in few months time. Late Emmanuel was reportedly a First Class student.

Videos of the scene shows Maduka’s body partly trapped under the trailer, and Timeyin lying on a side of the road while sympathisers made frantic efforts to rescue any other victim by unloading the cement truck.

It was further learnt that the truck driver ran away from the scene while the conductor was said to have been mobbed by angry residents before Police rescued him.

Spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident to The Nation on Wednesday May 5,

"I have two casualties for now. I don’t know if they have discovered another one. I know the conductor was rescued from being mobbed and is currently in our custody,” Bright stated.

Kenyan man slashes ex-girlfriend's face with sword

A Kenyan man identified as Stanley Owino, has been arrested for slashing the face of his ex-girlfriend with a sword.

Usikimye, a women-led community organization fighting to end gender-based violence, shared Jacqueline Karima's story on Wednesday, May 5.

It was gathered that Owini had repeatedly attacked and threatened Jacqueline since their eight years relationship ended in 2020 due to his numerous affairs.

According to the NGO, Jacqueline had gone to buy soda at a nearby shop when Owini allegedly broke into her fifth floor apartment and hid in her bedroom.

When she returned, he ambushed her with a Masai sword which he used to slash her face as well as other parts of her body.

Taking to Facebook to report the story, Usikimye wrote;

Quote:
This is Jacqueline Karimi (pictures used with permission).

Jacky was living with her boyfriend of eight years Stanley Owino until sometime last year when they parted ways , he had been having numerous affairs , and had even moved in with a lady who they got a baby with.

She moved out and her ordeal started there, Stanley threatening her that her would never let her go. The first time her followed her and stabbed her was in November. She reported and went to hospital, he disappeared and wasn't arrested.

On January 05th this year , Stanley attacked her again and stabbed her in the back amongst other places , his claim was if he couldn't have her no one would. Jacky was admitted to Hospital fighting for her life. Upon release she opted to move out of the estate, change her number and start afresh in a completely new environment. This matter was still reported, and he fled once again.

Yesterday Jacky who lives on fifth floor went to buy soda at the shop, she didn't lock her door, however in returning, she was filled with trepidation, and as she used to she checked everywhere, the last place was her bedroom, where Stanley was waiting to ambush her with a Masai sword which he used to slash her face as well as her body.

We found out that Stanley had been tracking Jacky and had moved to the flat where she was staying and had been monitoring her movements. The police are currently in the house.

Stanley had finally been arrested and will be taking plea in court tomorrow and I don't have enough thanks for Cynthia Njoroge for agreeing immediately to hold brief for this matter.

Boko Haram Attack Plot On National Assembly, VIP Locations Causes Scare
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-06-2021, 07:51 AM - No Replies

Quote:Reps committee chair notifies legislators of police warning indicating terror attack
• Lawmakers adjust movement, to enter, exit complex through Presidential Villa

Lawmakers have been notified of a possible attack by Boko Haram insurgents on the National Assembly complex and other public buildings in Abuja, The PUNCH has learnt.

Several members of the House of Representatives, on Wednesday confirmed to our correspondent that they had been notified of the imminent attack by the terrorist group.

One of them, who is from a state in the South-West, said his presence would henceforth be limited on the premises.

“That is the security alert I saw today. I’m already moving out of here. I’ll only be around when there is a major reason to do so. Nowhere is safe in the country anymore,” he said.

Already the notice on the impending attack has been made available to the lawmakers.

The notice, a copy of which our correspondent obtained, was sent to the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, other principal officers and all members of the House.

The ‘security alert’, dated May 4, 2021, was issued by Chairman of the House Committee on Internal Security, National Assembly, Mr Usman Shiddi.

It was titled ‘Re: planned insurgent attacks on VIP locations, government facilities and assets in Abuja.’

The alert read, “I refer to the above subject of which a copy of the intelligence report from the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigeria Police Force in the National Assembly Complex has been made available to my office.

“The report indicates planned insurgent attacks by some elements of Boko Haram on some VIP locations, government facilities and assets in Abuja, including the National Assembly complex.

“In view of the above intelligence, I have considered it paramount to advise that all members should, henceforth, use the presidential gate for ingress and egress.

“This is to avoid the unforeseen congestions that are sometimes encountered at the main gates, since such congestions could easily be the targets for these insurgent elements.

“Security agencies are, however, actively on top of the issue to unravel and to contain the intended menace. Accept the assurances of my highest regards, please.”

Security has been beefed up in and around the complex since Thursday last week.

For the first time, security operatives on that day checked vehicles entering the premises, causing traffic congestion especially at the third (and last) gate, a process that has continued till date.

Before now, the security operatives were only after the identities of drivers and passengers to confirm that they were staff members, legislative aides, journalists or persons working in private businesses in the complex.

Our correspondent observed that soldiers joined the regular sergeants-at-arms and men of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Federal Road Safety Corps that manned the gates.

The Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Business, House of Representatives, Abubakar Fulata, confirmed the development in plenary.

The Speaker called on Chairman of the House Committee on Treaties, Protocols and Agreements, Nicholas Ossia, to lay the report on the ‘Bill for an Act to Repeal Treaties (Making Procedure, Etc.) Act, Cap. T20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, and Enact Treaties (Making Procedure) Bill.’

Fulata, however, notified the Speaker that Ossai was not in the chamber, saying several lawmakers were still stuck in the traffic because of the security checks.

“It is very difficult today to get in, so a lot of members are stranded at the gate because of the very serious check-in process that the security men are conducting. A lot of members are there stranded at the gate,” Fulata said.

Gbajabiamila had asked, “For what reason? Stranded for what?”

Fulata had said, “This morning, it is very difficult to come in. It has been very difficult to come in today. They are doing security checks.”

Recall that the Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, had e on April 26, 2021, raised the alarm over Boko Haram terrorists taking over a part of the state, hoisting their flag in Kaure village from where they had made incursions into more than 50 villages.

Bello said Abuja was not safe, with Boko Haram’s presence in Kaure – a two- hour journey from the Federal Capital Territory.

He said, “I am confirming that there are Boko Haram elements here in Niger State. Here in Kaure, I am confirming that they have hoisted their flags here.”

Same day, Gbajabiamila, had met with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the Presidential Villa, in company with the Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa.

The House the next day held a long executive (closed-door) session to discuss the rising spate of insecurity across Nigeria, calling on Buhari to declare a state of emergency on security.

At the secret session that lasted over three hours, the lawmakers unanimously adopted a series of resolutions, one of which was that “the Federal Government should ensure the protection of national infrastructure and assets, particularly the Shiroro and Kainji Dams in Niger State.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES,

THURSDAY 6TH MAY 2021.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: MINISTERING THE WORD

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts (Haggai 2:9).

In Acts 4, we read that the saints of the early Church, in a time of intense persecution, prayed to the Lord. They said, “…grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus” (Acts 4:29-30).

Few chapters after that, Peter went into the house of Cornelius the Roman centurion and the Bible says, “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word”*_ (Acts 10:44). Remarkable indeed!

The word “fell” is translated from the Greek “epipipto,” which means to embrace with affection, to fall like rain or fall upon someone in an embrace. As Peter spoke those gracious words of salvation, the Holy Ghost embraced everyone in Cornelius’ household, and they were all recreated and filled with the Spirit. Hallelujah!

Such experiences ought to be commonplace through the Church of Jesus Christ. In these last days, the Spirit of God is moving on His children to preach and teach His Word with power, with miracles, signs and wonders. God’s people around the world are going to be amazed at the move of the Spirit in their lives at a degree they’d never seen before.

Become conscious of this as you go preaching the Word everywhere. While you’re yet speaking and preaching in the offices, in the shops, in the streets, schools and shopping malls, the Holy Ghost will fall on your hearers and they’ll be filled with the Spirit.

Get yourself immersed in Him every day. Before you go out, get filled with the Spirit. Soak your spirit more in the Holy Spirit through fellowship. Pray and fast often. God’s power to save, heal, deliver and bless is in the Gospel, which has been committed to your trust to share with others by the power of God’s Spirit. And this is the time!

PRAYER

Oh Lord God, there’s none like you; you’re greater than all, and all the nations belong to you. The heavens shout your praise and your Name is exalted forevermore. As your children go about preaching the Gospel everywhere, you confirm their words with signs following, resulting in massive harvests of souls into the Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

John 7:38-39
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Acts 4:31 & 33
Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Mark 16:20
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Also recovered from them were two deep freezers and a TVS motorcycle.

On the same date, at about 1:30pm, a raid carried out at Rate Hotel, Care Street, in Akure South LGA led to the arrest of 25-year-old Tessy Mathew from whom 33kilogrammes of skuchies were recovered. Following her preliminary interrogation, a follow up operation was immediately carried out, leading to the arrest of 25-year-old Blessing Adesida in Oshinle area of Akure South LGA.
Recovered from her include: skuchies-3kg and cannabis-7grammes. According to the states acting Commander of the Agency, Callys Alumona, other members of the two drug cartels have been watch listed and efforts to arrest them ongoing.'' Babafemi's statement reads

According to the state Commander of NDLEA, Idris Bello, the suspects were arrested on Monday 3rd May, 202 at about 6am in Mayo Belwa town, Mayo Belwa LGA, Adamawa State.

Quote:“They took off from Auchi in Edo State. Also recovered from them was a fake Police Warrant Card bearing the name of Chinedu Anwanya with the rank of a DSP'' the Commander of Narcotics stated

Reacting to the development, the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended officers and men of the Ondo and Adamawa state Commands of the Agency for their vigilance and commitment to work. He charged them and their counterparts in other Commands to continue the nationwide offensive action against the illicit trade.

Quote:''I recognise and commend the great work our officers and men in Ondo and Adamawa states have done in these operations. However, I still want to encourage them and their counterparts across the country that we must raise the ante in fighting drug criminalities in Nigeria.

We must now go beyond seizures and arrests, and dismantle the cartels because there are cartels behind each of the drugs, be it cocaine, heroin, tramadol or cannabis, there are cartels behind each of these drugs and we must identify them and rein them in, that is the next phase of this war as we continue with our maxim of offensive action'' Marwa said

If anything is to happen to me . I would also like to add I am being stalked and or harassed via text messages .

This is not the first incident . She has beaten me before on April 13/14. She has a pattern of violence & has done this to several previous partners. She lived in my house & I took care of her since I met her. Done writing about this.''she wrote accompanied by photos of her bruised body

Doctor suspended for 'squeezing patient's nipple' during intimate medical examination

Doctor suspended for 'squeezing patient's nipple' during intimate medical examination

An NHS doctor has been suspended after a patient accused him of squeezing her nipple and asking for her phone number during an intimate medical examination.

A misconduct panel was reportedly told that Dr. Abul Murshid, 50, fondled the woman's left breast without explanation after she attended Guy's Urgent Care Centre in Central London complaining of chest pains.

Murshid also exchanged numbers with the woman before sending her a WhatsApp message after the examination saying: 'Hi. One small reminder please Keep a record of all symps.'

He was later reported to the General Medical Council after the woman spoke to her mother about the encounter.

She said she had felt 'uncomfortable' during the examination and claimed the doctor had 'insisted' on swapping phone numbers with her and informed her of the days when he would be working.

At the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, Murshid, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, was found guilty of various misconduct charges but was cleared of sexually motivated behaviour.

He was suspended from practise for eight months.

The Manchester hearing was told the incident occurred in 2019 after Dr. Murshid who had worked as a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a number of London hospitals between 2008 and 2012 began working at Guys in the Urgent Care Centre.

In a statement, the female patient said: 'Dr. Murshid asked me to expose my chest area so that he could carry out an examination.

'I remember quite clearly that he did not offer me a chaperone which I would have expected considering this was an examination of a private part of the body.

'I was wearing a sports top at the time so I pulled this above my breasts to expose them so that Dr. Murshid could examine my chest.'

She added: 'He was poking around my chest and asking me to cough to try and localise the pain which seemed perfectly normal until out of nowhere he squeezed my nipple which was so uncomfortable.'

'As I was complaining of chest pain I was expecting a regular chest or cardio examination... but instead, Dr. Murshid carried out a breast examination and it was more of a feeling up than an examination.

'When he was asking me to cough he was poking all around and pressing down on my breasts with his hand then at the end Dr. Murshid squeezed my left nipple.

'He did not make any comments whilst he did this and did not explain before or after squeezing my nipple why this was being done or why it was necessary.'

Murshid initially claimed Patient A's complaint was 'a pure reaction to take revenge to punish' but has since apologized and attended courses of maintaining professional boundaries.

In a statement, he said: 'I recall asking her to cough, whilst I palpated along the left side of her chest. In palpating her chest wall, I inevitably touched her breast tissue due to the anatomy of the area.

'I was palpating the area where she told me she had pain, but I did not perform a breast examination as such and I did not squeeze her nipple.

'I do recall asking whether she would like a chaperone for the examination. There were, from memory, a couple of male nurses on duty that night and the only female member of staff was one of the other doctors, who was busy seeing another patient.

'I gave her the option of waiting, but she declined as she had already been waiting for a long time and had had no sleep.'

In a report on the incident, a colleague of Murshid said: 'Exposure of the chest is necessary to perform a comprehensive examination but a chaperone should have been offered by Dr. Murshid.

'A breast examination was also not clinically indicated by the presenting history and the manner in which it is described as being carried out is not appropriate.'

The doctor's lawyer Oliver Williamson said the tribunal proceedings had been a 'continued learning experience' and described the event as 'a single isolated incident'.

She added: 'He is remorseful and full of regret for his actions, as well as the impact that they have had.'

Finding the doctor's fitness to practise impaired MPTS chairman Nicholas Flanagan told the hearing: 'The tribunal was concerned Dr. Murshid did not consider the need to respect Patient A's dignity and privacy throughout the examination, as her breasts were exposed and it considered that Dr Murshid failed to act appropriately.

'Dr. Murshid seems unaware that an intimate examination is defined by the patient and not the doctor or the examination to be undertaken.

'The Tribunal, therefore, remains troubled with Dr. Murshid's understanding regarding intimate examinations, as well as the preparation and sensitivity required.

'But it is more likely that Dr. Murshid had performed the examination through a failure to fully appreciate Patient A's history and symptoms, rather than to obtain sexual gratification or in pursuit of a sexual relationship.

'The tribunal is satisfied the doctor has insight and does not pose a significant risk of repeating behaviour.'

Enugu residents jubilate as Fr. Mbaka reappears following fears he was "missing"

Supporters of Catholic priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, took to the streets of Enugu to celebrate after the clergyman resurfaced following reports he had gone "missing".

Recall that Enugu residents took to the Enugu Bishop's lodge earlier today, May 5, to protest and ask for the whereabouts of the priest who was last seen on Tuesday evening, May 4.

Ohanaeze Youth Congress gave the federal government 48 hours to ''produce'' the Enugu-based Catholic priest who called for the President’s impeachment or resignation days ago over insecurity (read here).

In response, the DSS denied having Fr Mbaka in their custody (read here).

Well, Mbaka has now resurfaced. Mbaka, who is the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), was seen waving to protesters through the open roof of a moving car.

In the video shared by BBC Pidgin, supporters of Mbaka and operatives of the Nigeria Police Force are seen surrounding the clergyman as he waved at those who had gathered to protest his alleged disappearance.

15 Out Of 17 Governors Present In Southern Governors Forum Meeting

Quote:Governors in the Southern part of the country under the Southern Nigeria Governors Forum on Tuesday met to discuss the state of the nation.

The meeting which was held virtually was at the instance of the chairman of the South West governors forum, Rotimi Akeredolu and the chairmen of both South-South and South-East Governors’ Forums Ifeanyi Okowa and David Umahi of Ondo, Delta and Ebonyi respectively.

Vanguard was informed that fifteen of the 17 Governors from the Southern part attended the meeting.

They include; Ekiti State Governor who doubles as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Nyesom Wike(Rivers), Ifeanyi Okowa(Delta), David Umahi(Ebonyi), Godwin Obaseki,(Edo), and Lolo Cecilia Ezeilo(deputy governor of Enugu representing the governor).

Others are Douye Diri(Bayelsa), Emmanuel Udom(Akwa Ibom), Okezie Victor Ikpeazu(Abia), Hope Uzodimma(Imo), Dapo Abiodun(Ogun), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Seyi Makinde(Oyo) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu(Lagos).

The Governors who called for commitment and unity in addressing issues that affect the country, particularly Southern Nigeria, stressed the need to put the country first in the face of the trying times.
The full details of the outcome of the meeting were still sketchy as of press time.

Vanguard was however informed that part of the governor’s resolution was to meet in Asaba, the Delta State Capital, next week to harmonize positions aimed at dousing the tension in the country.
But a source close to one of the governors said although the meeting was long overdue, the move by the three governors was commendable.

The source said “The three governors, especially the chairman of the Southwest Governors Forum have provided good leadership and direction to the extent that a proper path to confidence-building has been laid.

“It is coming a bit late but it has largely shown that there are still leaders who think of the nation’s unity first before any other.
“The kernel of the meeting was that Nigeria is too important to let into a conflagration. It’s a good move, no doubt”, he said.

Uzodinma Launches Operation Search And Flush Team In Imo, Presents Cars, Gadgets

Quote:REMARKS BY GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA ON THE OCCASION OF THE PRESENTATION OF SECURITY VEHICLES AND GADGETS TO OPERATION SEARCH AND FLUSH TEAM, ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 5TH, 2021.

Today's event heralds the presentation of more vehicles and security gadgets to our Operation Search and Flush team. It is a bold statement on our iron-clad resolve to flush out criminals from our dear state. It is a signal to bandits, hoodlums and trigger-happy criminals that their time is up in Imo State.

Again this event further underscores the fact that our government can never be intimidated by criminals and their sponsors. It also reaffirms our commitment to the protection of lives and property of all citizens of the state including those on transit.

You will recall that just a few days after I assumed office as the governor of Imo State, I inaugurated the security outfit known as Operation Search and Flush,(OSF), which brought together all the different security agencies to work as a team to fight every form of criminality. The objective then and now is to rout and root out every aspect of crime in our state. I empowered the outfit then with a record of 100 patrol vehicles and sophisticated communication equipments to help them achieve the objective. There is no doubt that that intervention yielded positive results, the recent pockets of crime here and there notwithstanding.

Let me; therefore, commend the heads of security agencies in Imo State and their men for their supportive roles in keeping Imo State and her citizenry safe. No matter what might have happened recently, the gallantry and sacrifices of these patriotic officers have never been in doubt. May I use this opportunity to commiserate with families of the officers who paid the supreme price in the course of executing their lawful duties. My administration will always do the needful to cushion the pains of these losses.

In like manner, we shall do all that we can to ameliorate the pains of families who lost their loved ones in the course of accidental engagements with security agencies. Our sincere condolences go to the affected families.

My beloved people of Imo State, in a way we can say that today's event is part of our response to the evolving security challenges in the state. We are reinforcing what we started last year. We are reenergising the security architecture in the state to make it more proactive and result-oriented. These vehicles and equipment being donated by my administration are eloquent testimony to our resolve to confront and combat criminality headlong.

Furthermore, in the coming weeks, I shall be integrating the Imo State Vigilante outfit, otherwise known as Ebubeagu to complement the efforts of Operation Search and Flush, in fighting crime in the state.

Let me, therefore, use the auspicious occasion of this memorable event to declare a total war against crime, criminality and their sponsors in the state. In this regard, I am today declaring a zero-tolerance for crime in Imo State. From now onwards Imo State shall be a no go area for criminals. We shall take the war to the doorway of all criminals; their kindred, their hamlets and their hideout. We shall smoke them out and flush them out of Imo State.

Consequently, I hereby charge our security agencies to chase the criminals to their hideouts. All smoking joints where marijuana and other dangerous drugs are sold and used should be searched and flushed out. Henceforth, any landlord who avails his property to criminals, even smokers of weeds would be answerable to the law. In like manner, any traditional ruler in whose domain criminals abides and who fails to report same to relevant authorities will be held accountable.

We can no longer tolerate a situation whereby our state is used as a breeding haven for criminals.

To the good people of Imo State and residents, I say to you, you are Safe; go about your lawful engagements without any fear of molestation. No shaking. Your safety is guaranteed.

On that note, it is my pleasure to present these vehicles and equipments to the Operation Search and Flush outfit to further reinforce their operational capacity in the onerous task of protecting lives and property in Imo State.

Thank you. God bless Imo State

Sen. Hope Uzodimma
Governor, Imo State

Stop the rhetorics, deal with Nigeria’s problems - Northern Elders Forum tells Buhari

The Presidency has been accused by the Northern Elders Forum of scaring Nigerians with the rhetoric of subversion with its continous claim of an alleged attempt to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari.

Director of Publicity and Advocacy of the Forum, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed in a statement he released, asked the Presidency what it wants Nigerians to do with such information.

Challenging the Presidency to mention the plotters it claimed were recruiting some leaders of ethnic groups and the alleged ethnic groups, Ahmed further told the current administration to deal with the problems facing the country as it is already showing it can't use the mechanism available to it to deal with the situation.

He said;

Quote:“Subversion is a crime, sedition is a crime and treason is a crime. Why is the Presidency or DSS telling us that there are people who are involved in these activities? What do they want the public to do with the information? They are failing twice; first of all, they are failing to eliminate the ground which gives these kinds of elements if they do exist, the reason to do what they are doing and then they are failing in enforcing the law.

“I can say we talk with other groups, we discuss national issues. That is our right; there is nothing illegal in that and I am sure other groups do the same thing. But when you throw this kind of blanket accusations that somebody that you haven’t told us, someone, that you are in opposition today with, you haven’t dealt with is engaging and recruiting sociocultural groups, you have to wonder are you just using words to scare citizens?”

Lagos begins installation of 2,000 CCTV cameras

Lagos State Government says it has commenced the installation of 2,000 Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across the state.

The state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hakeem Popoola Fahm, disclosed this at a ministerial press briefing on Tuesday, May 4, to commemorate the second year in office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration.

Fahm said the number of CCTV cameras installed is increasing day by day, but, already, 100 CCTV cameras had been installed in Ikeja metropolis.  The Commissioner added that upon completion, the project would advance Lagos state economy by becoming a 24-hour driven commercial centre, which would allow companies to operate in a safe, secure and smart environment that would create more jobs and increase Gross Domestic Product of the state.

Apart from the installation of the CCTV cameras across the state, Fahm said that Sanwo-Olu’s administration had implemented a 3,000 km of Fibre Metro Network connection in year 2020, and additional 3,000km in year 2021, across the state, as part of the comprehensive Smart City Programme that seeks to provide a 24-hour driven economy.

Speaking further Fahm said that the implementation of Lagos State Smart City Project is to enable governance, connectivity and environmental security, adding that the use of technology would make reporting of security incidents easy to reach, and promote access to major stakeholders in the government.

Derek Chauvin wants new trial after he was convicted for the murder of George Floyd

Derek Chauvin's attorney says the former Minneapolis police officer convicted for murdering George Floyd deserves a new trial.

Chauvin's attorney, Eric Nelson, filed legal documents on Tuesday, May 4, asking for the jury verdict in his murder trial to be thrown out, claiming there were numerous errors pertaining to the jury and prosecution.

In the documents, obtained by TMZ, Chauvin's defense claims he didn't get a fair trial, alleging the court abused its discretion by disagreeing with defense requests to sequester the jury and change venue.

Earlier, the judge presiding over Chauvin's murder trial said Rep. Maxine Waters may have given Chauvin additional arguments to make on appeal. Remember, the congresswoman from California had said protesters were banking on a guilty verdict. She encouraged people to take to the streets and get more confrontational if that didn't happen.

Some took that as an incitement of violence. Chauvin's attorney brought up Waters' remarks after closing arguments and said her comments could have possibly influenced the jury.

Nelson had asked for a mistrial but Judge Cahill didn't budge. However,  the judge said Waters opened the door for Chauvin to appeal the verdict. The judge told Nelson he had faith jurors followed his directive to avoid the news and talk of the case.

Chauvin's defense claims the jury should have been sequestered or at least warned to avoid all media related to the case. Nelson claims jurors could have felt intimidated.

Chauvin, who pressed his knee on George Floyd's neck for more than 9 minutes on May 25, 2020, was found guilty on all 3 counts, including 2nd-degree murder.

Teenager kills several children and teachers after bursting into Brazil day care centre

At least three children, a teacher and a school assistant have been killed after a teenager burst into a daycare centre and attacked the people inside with a machete.

A woman has claimed that she escaped death when gunmen suspected to be Fulani militias allegedly attacked miners at Ntill in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The woman was found by students of the Plateau State University Bokkos in the early hours of Monday, May 4.

The students initially thought she was mentally unstable, however, upon interrogation, the woman said she and other miners were working when gunmen stormed the site and opened fire on them. She managed to escape but does not know the fate of other workers.

A student shared photos of the woman as well as her story on Facebook. Longpan Elkanah wrote;

Quote:"This old woman is from Vom in Plateau state. She went to a place called Ntill part of Bokkos LGA of plateau state for local mining of tin. While they were working, according to what she said, the nearby Fulani herdsmen began to shoot guns toward them they run but the Fulani men kept pursuing them she could not tell where went her coworkers because it was struggling for survival as she said,"
"How valid or sound is this information hence am not a journalist. At 5:am we usually pray at the students center everyday. So this woman appeared from no one can tell exactly where she is coming from among us. We thought she was a mad woman but we are as well skeptical best on the happening in this country daily, one can as well disguise him/herself. So as we interrogated the woman thoroughly, then she told us the above episode. We then helped her tracing her way home,"

Sheikh Gumi asks FG to collect N100m from CBN to pay ransom for abducted Greenfield University students

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Gumi, has asked the Federal government to collect N100m from CBN to pay ransom for abducted Greenfield University students.

The students were abducted by the bandits on Sunday, April 18.

Five of the 22 abducted students have been killed. One of them was released on Tuesday, May 4 while 16 of them are still in captivity. The bandits have threatened to kill the students if the ransom isn't paid.

In a fresh interview with Punch, Gumi called on the Federal government to collect N100 million from the Central Bank to pay the bandits.

Quote:''The money they are asking for is too much; if I give you that money, you cannot run away with it. Nobody can run. So, why not give them the money, they release the boys and then we pursue them and get our money back and do what is necessary; it is simple logic.  So, bring the money from the central bank. How can they move that money? We should not be stupid.

These people are getting infiltrated; Boko Haram is getting close and they don’t respect the clergy. I need support to get them inoculated against the infiltration of these ideologies, whether Boko Haram or Ansaru, whatever it is. We need to shield them because they are naïve. If there is too much pressure on them, and they see help from Boko Haram, who are richer and have more weapons, it is going to consume everybody.”he said

Nonuplets: Halima Cisse, Malian Woman Gives Birth To Nine Babies In Morocco

Quote:A Malian woman gave birth to nine babies on Tuesday - two more than doctors had detected inside her crowded womb - joining a small pantheon of mothers of nonuplets.

The pregnancy of Halima Cisse, 25, has fascinated the West African nation and attracted the attention of its leaders. When doctors in March said Cisse needed specialist care, authorities flew her to Morocco, where she gave birth.

"The newborns (five girls and four boys) and the mother are all doing well," Mali's health minister, Fanta Siby, said in a statement.

Cisse was expected to give birth to seven babies, according to ultrasounds conducted in Morocco and Mali that missed two of the siblings. All were delivered by caesarean section.

Nonuplets are extremely rare. Medical complications in multiple births of this kind often mean that some of the babies do not reach full term.

President Buhari condemns killings in Anambra, Benue

Quote:President Muhammadu Buhari strongly condemns the killing of 11 people in Gwer West Local Government of Benue State and the reprisals on innocent people by mobs that blocked roads to unleash terror and violence.

“I totally condemn this latest unprovoked violence and counter-attacks on innocent people that had nothing to do with the cause of the violence,” the President says.

President Buhari also deplores the killing of innocent people in Anambra State by mobs, saying that “in both cases innocent people were killed through no fault of theirs.”

“Violence on innocent people by anybody and any group is unacceptable and indefensible.

“Hate and bigotry have eaten so deeply and violates the sanctity of life. If we allow this culture of violence to go unchecked, such mobs would destroy law and order,” he says.

The President urges leaders of ethnic and religious groups “to play their own roles constructively in controlling their followers or members, in order to support the government’s efforts for sustainable peace.”

President Buhari cautions Nigerians against the “temptations of taking the law into their hands in the name of revenge because there are no winners in the cycle of violence, only losers.”

The President sends his commiserations to the families of the bereaved and the governments and people of Benue and Anambra States.

He also commends the police and other law enforcement agencies for their prompt response in averting the escalation of the violence, urging them to put in every effort to apprehend perpetrators of the heinous attacks.

United Nations Children Fund Commend Ogun State's Efforts Towards Child Survival
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:The United Nations’ Children Fund (UNICEF) has given the thumbs up to the Ogun State Government, for its efforts towards ensuring child survival in the State, particularly in the area of dissemination of key messages on essential family practices.

Penpushing reports that, the organisation’s Field Office, in Akure, Nigeria, Dr. Tushar Rane, gave this commendation, during a meeting with Commissioner for Information, Permanent Secretaries of Ministries of Information, and media stakeholders from Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun and Ondo States on ‘Facts for Life’ (FFL) programme, saying the meeting is an effort to take stock of strides made so far and chart a new course for sustainability.

The Fund office said the collaboration between Ogun State Ministry of Information and the organisation is yielding positive impact on the lives of residents, noting that more people are gaining access to key messages that promote issues like handwashing, exclusive breastfeeding, proper personal hygiene and sanitation.

Penpushing further reports that, he expressed delight that numerous radio stations have bought into the free broadcast of the United Nations Children Fund(UNICEF) ‘Facts for Life’ radio programme, adding that it was created to disseminate vital information meant to increase every child’s chances of survival.

“Although UNICEF has provided the necessary technical support to facilitate the production of FFL radio programmes, the Ministries of Information in the States under our zone and FM radio stations have taken up this initiative and ensured that the episodes of the programmes are being aired free of charge’.

‘I want to say here that many global experts have described this initiative as excellent for Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC). I appreciate all our partners for this success story”, he said.

The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Chief, who emphasised that the fight against infant and maternal mortality in Nigeria could only be won through collaborative efforts, said the organisation would continue to build on the good relationship with the Ministries of Information under the Akure Field Office.

Penpushing also reports that, Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile in his response advised United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) to expand its scope to accommodate mental health for women at the grassroot, adding that the overall health of mothers is crucial to the survival and growth of families.

“Let me also align with the need for capacity building of stakeholders in the media. UNICEF can think of a way to contribute to the training of staff of their media partners, in order to ensure the right messages are disseminated. This will engender a better disposition of media practitioners to your programmes”, he said.

The Commissioner lamented that the traditional media may no longer be effective for reaching out to teenagers, particularly female ones, who have shown a preference for online and social media, adding that they would turn out to be mothers in the future.

SON Confiscates Stuffed Substandard Tyres Worth About ₦600 Million
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-05-2021, 10:44 AM - No Replies

Quote:Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has restated its resolve to safeguard lives and properties in the country by seizing a large cache of stuffed substandard tyres worth over N600M at a remote location in Asese Area, off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Obafemi Owode Local Government of Ogun State.

The Director-General, Mallam Farouk Salim stated at the scene of the seizure that unscrupulous importers were taking advantage of the vastness of the country to warehouse substandard products at different hideouts, assuring that they would not escape the enforcement activities of his organisation.

Salim revealed that the tyres which were discovered after a tip-off were stuffed four into one, loaded in about one hundred (100) containers undetected through the entry ports without SON’s knowledge and shipped to the warehouse. This according to him further underscores the need for SON to be present at the nation’s ports of entry.

The SON helmsman explained that before declaring a tyre substandard, it would have been tested in the laboratory and found short of the requirements of the relevant Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS 252 :2017). “If the tyres are used or stuffed they are deemed substandard,” he said.

Mallam Salim also explained that the tactics deployed by the importers of stuffing tyres is for the purpose of evading duties and shipping costs to make additional profit, but in doing so, they overlook the quality implication of the tyres being deformed and compromised.

He lamented that tyres like these have no economic value as their integrity has been degraded, maintaining that SON would stop at nothing at ensuring that such substandard tyres do not find their way into the hands of unsuspecting consumers in the country.

The DG warned all unscrupulous importers to desist from their dastardly acts, stressing that SON would not compromise nor gamble with the lives of Nigerians. SON according to him would diligently prosecute anyone or group caught committing standards infractions.

On the seized tyres he said “there is no way we can salvage these tyres, so we are going to destroy them”.

Mallam Salim stated that during questioning, the apprehended Manager of the warehouse, Emmanuel Ogbagu, disclosed that they usually employed manual labour to un-stuff the tyres and straighten them before wrapping with various brand wrappers at the warehouse before distributing to markets across the country. He said further that the owner of the products, a foreigner was out of the country.

The SON helmsman gave assurance that the culprit would be invited for questioning on return, failing which the manager or anyone involved in the property would be prosecuted.

The DG enjoined members of the public to always insist on physical inspection of their tyres to confirm the quality markings, avoid buying compromised products as a way to ensure safety and value for their hard earned money.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY 5TH MAY.

PERFECTED FOREVER IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified (Hebrews 10:12-14).

Blessed be God! The Lord Jesus offered the one supreme sacrifice for sin for all time. And by His one sacrifice, He perfected us forever! He made us perfect, holy and complete for all time. How glorious this is!

This isn’t something we qualified for or achieved by ourselves; Jesus did it for us. He perfected us in righteousness and holiness of truth. That’s what Paul refers to when He said in Ephesians 4:24 that you should put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Never see yourself as unrighteous and imperfect. Christ is your perfection. You’re perfect, because the One who gave birth to you is perfect. Hebrews 2:11 declares, “For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one….” You’re like Him. 1 John 4:17 says, “…as he is, so are we in this world….”

Colossians 2:10 says, “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” The word “complete” also means perfected; you’re perfected in Him. Some have asked, “Doesn’t Ephesians 4:12 talk about “the perfecting of the saints”, meaning that we’re not yet perfect? No; that verse refers to the maturing or maturity of the saints; it means equipping or training the saints for the work of the ministry.

It’s like when a child is born; that child is perfectly as human as the parents are. But the child needs to be trained and equipped with information, education and strength to live a fully functional human life. That’s what the Apostle Paul meant by “perfecting of the saints.”

Already, you are, and have, the righteousness of God. But as you receive the Word of God into your spirit, you’re being trained in the life of righteousness; you become more skilled in the doctrine, understanding and application of your righteousness in Christ.

CONFESSION

I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and in union with Him; I’m reigning in life. What blessedness to be the expression of His righteousness and bear fruits of righteousness, to the glory of His Name! Blessed be God!

I affirm that I am a child of the day and not of the night. I shine forth effusively, illuminating my world with glory and virtue. Through me, the unsaved hear and receive the light of the glorious Gospel and are transferred from darkness into God’s marvelous light, and from the power of Satan unto God.

I Know, and walk in my inheritance in Christ Jesus because I live and see from God’s perspective. His Word is my light, and that’s the light in which I live.

I’m walking in the path of God’s destiny for my life, because I walk in the light, as He is in the light. I’m the seed of Abraham, and therefore, a distributor of divine blessings. Salvation, righteousness, prosperity, healing, God’s goodness, mercies, and grace flow through me to bless my world!

I bring succour, hope, deliverance, and joy to many. I am a king and a priest unto God; therefore, the words of my mouth are spirit and they’re life! I give life to everything around me!

Everything in my world, whether living or non-living, is constantly charged with life and vitality! Christ is alive in me—in every fibre of my being, every bone of my body, and every cell of my blood. I’m living the supernatural life, naturally, because Christ is in me.

I have no sense of lack or want, because the One who created all things, and in whom all things consist, is in me, and I reign in, with, and through Him. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

Pastor Folayemi Richard Beat Pregnant Wife To Coma 3 Months After Wedding
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 05-04-2021, 11:53 PM - No Replies

Quote:The pastor and founder of Victor's Church, Ilorin, Kwara State, Folayemi Richard, has reportedly beaten his pregnant wife, Odunola, to coma over a rift between them.
The cleric committed the assault in their residence located at Ita Olodan, Upper Gaa-Akanbi in Ilorin town.

The wife, while speaking with an online medium, The Informant, said the incident occurred in January 2021 when their wedding was three months old and her pregnancy was a month old.

The woman lamented that even when she collapsed, her husband kept torturing her, brutalising her with a cable wire.

She said a neighbour, who is an older woman, came to mediate for her but was overpowered and pushed aside.

Odunola said she had been experiencing marital turbulence since their marriage in late September 2020, adding that the man had once beaten her till she became unconscious.

"Last year, September 26, we got married, and we've been living together as husband and wife. When our wedding was one month old, that was when a terrible crisis occurred. We had a disagreement. Suddenly, he ordered me to stand up and that he would take me to a hospital, where he would dump me.

"He started insulting my parents; I cautioned him. He slapped me and began to beat me. He got a cable wire which we use for speakers in the church and beat me.

"I started shouting for help. I became so weak. I dashed out of the house; he followed me and started dragging me on the ground, saying he did not want the marriage again.

"At this time, people had already gathered and were begging him. He locked me out and went to my parents. When he came back again, he ordered me to leave his home," she narrated.

One of the eyewitnesses, Victoria Oluwaseun, confirmed the pastor dragged his wife out, beating her without considering the pregnancy.

As of the time of this report, the pastor's mobile lines could not be reached as they were switched off.

Odunola has complained to the National Human Right Commission to seek justice over the matter.

She also alleged that her husband had denied her access to move her belongings from the house.

She added that her certificates and other valuables are still in the house.

89 Lagos Men Beaten, Violated By Their Wives In 15 Months – Commissioner
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-04-2021, 11:45 PM - No Replies

The commissioner said, in 2020, a total of 46 men reported at the ministry that their wives violated them.

Quote:The Lagos State Government has said 89 men reported that they were battered by their wives in cases of domestic violence between 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Cecilia Bolaji Dada, stated this on Tuesday at a ministerial news conference to mark the second year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in office, held in Ikeja, Lagos.

The commissioner said, in 2020, a total of 46 men reported at the ministry that their wives violated them.

She added that in the first quarter of 2021, a total of 43 men reported battering by their wives, making it a total of 89 in less than two years.

She said the figure captured only cases reported to WAPA and that some cases had been reported directly to the Ministry of Justice and police station which the ministry might not be aware of.

Dada, however, disclosed that a total of 664 women were battered by their husbands in Lagos in the past year, according to cases reported at WAPA.

Giving a breakdown, the commissioner said 378 women were violated by their husbands in 2020, while 286 women were battered by their husbands in the first quarter of 2021.

Dada disclosed that empowerment initiatives and Poverty Alleviation Programmes of the ministry has impacted the lives of over 48,000 residents of the state in the last two years.

She said WAPA would also start exposing its trainees to the use of technology and also enlighten women on newer practices in vocational training, considering the effects of COVID-19 and the need to adapt to the new normal within the digital space.

She said: “In view of this, there will be a training of 500 women on entrepreneurial and digital marketing techniques come June 2021, as part of plans to mark this year’s International Widows Day.”

“In addition, WAPA is equally expanding the scope of activities with a view to creating more avenues for our women to leverage on a professional platform. That is why 5,780 participants were incorporated into our Mega Empowerment initiative so that through their productivity, they can also contribute to the increase in GDP of Lagos State."

Buhari Appoints Dikko Head Of Small Arms, Weapons Control Agency
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-04-2021, 11:44 PM - No Replies

Quote:Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Rtd Major General A.M. Dikko as the pioneer coordinator of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).

The presidency in a statement said Buhari approved the establishment of NCCSALW on Monday.

The agency will be domiciled in the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The NCCSALW replaces the defunct Presidential Committee on Small Arms and Light Weapons and will serve as the institutional mechanism for policy guidance, research and monitoring of all aspects of small arms and light weapons (SALW) in Nigeria.

This decision, the Presidency said, is part of the ongoing restructuring of Nigeria’s security architecture to address emerging threats and strengthen the regional mechanism for the control, prevention and regulation of SALW.

“The impact of the proliferation of SALW across national borders in Africa and the Sahel region has resulted in terrorism, human trafficking, organized crime, and insurrections in West Africa and Nigeria,” the Presidency said.

“Therefore, as one of the measures in tackling this threat, the new Centre will be fulfilling the requirements of the ECOWAS Moratorium on Import, Export, and Manufacture of Light Weapons as well as the UN Plan of Action to prevent, combat, and eradicate the illicit trade in SALW.

“The NCCSALW will serve as the National Focal Point on SALW in Nigeria and lead a multi-stakeholder process involving Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies and the Civil Society in implementing all national, UN and ECOWAS Plans of Action on the control of SALW.

“The Centre will maintain international cooperation and also operate zonal offices in the Six Geopolitical Zones to ensure quick response and effective mobilization of resources.”

The Presidency said Dikko has served in various capacities in and outside Nigeria. He was a Course Director at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre and Chief Instructor of the Nigerian Army Peacekeeping Centre.

He was also a Military Adviser, United Nation Office for West Africa, Director Peacekeeping Operations Defence Headquarters, Commander Operations LAST HOLD as well as Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, to mention a few.

The pioneer Coordinator has vast experience working with the ECOWAS and the UN system and is expected to operationalize the objectives of the NCCSALW.

White foreign Boko Haram fighters killed in gun battle with Nigerian troops

Quote:Nigerian troops on Monday apprehended and killed foreign nationals aiding the activities of Boko Haram in the West African region.

The troops ambushed the foreign Boko Haram insurgents after receiving intelligence reports of their presence in Sambisa Forest, a military source told Peoples Gazette.

The foreign terrorist fighters were killed in a shootout with Nigerian soldiers.

While the origin of the killed insurgents remains unclear, the development, however, coincided with longstanding claims that foreigners, especially individuals from the Middle East, are fighting alongside the jihadists around the war-torn Lake Chad region.

The activity of Boko Haram in the West African region has continued to adversely affect the socio-economic growth of countries in the region, with investors relocating from terror torn states.

In Nigeria, the jihadist group has continued to heighten the security problems of the northern region, claiming responsibility for series of abductions and killings.

In April, The Gazette reported how Boko Haram insurgents took over Shiroro, displacing over 3,000 people.

Apart from occupying Shiroro, the insurgents also imposed VAT and income taxes on residents.

Also, in April, about 65 communities in Niger reportedly signed a N20 million peace deal with Boko Haram terrorists to avoid attacks on their communities.

This followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to guarantee the safety of lives and property in the state that had witnessed several violent attacks and kidnaps by Boko Haram.

Mr Buhari’s pledge to tackle the country’s security challenges has been severely questioned after he took sides with terror-linked communications minister Isa Pantami.

Mr Pantami faces an avalanche of criticisms amid calls for his resignation following The Gazette’s reports of his avowed support for terrorist groups like Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and Boko Haram.

However, Mr Buhari, who acknowledged that Mr Pantami supported terrorist organisations and incited the Muslim communities against Christians in the North through a declaration of jihad and fatwa, insisted that the “apology” of the minister was enough to heal the wounds and console the victims of his divisive past.

Tinubu Is Physically And Mentally Weaker Than Buhari, Nigeria Should Breakup Before 2023 Election – Do You Agree?

on
 May 4, 2021

As the buildup for 2023 election comes, so are we getting more insightful comments from Nigerians everyday

Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has said that nobody can fix Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari.

He insisted that the disintegration of the country before 2023 is the only solution to the security and economic crises Nigeria is being faced with.

The cleric was reacting to the recent threat by the Department of State Services, DSS, to clamp down on elements agitating for disintegration and causing disunity in the country.

According to Giwa, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is understood to be warming up to replace Buhari in 2023, is not capable of turning things around.

In a statement to NAIJALOADED on Tuesday, Giwa noted that apart from the fact Tinubu has failed to speak for his people, Buhari is physically and mentally, stronger than the former Governor of Lagos State.

Quote:
“Let me urge Nigerians to relax, because God is currently fighting for the oppressed. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in Nigeria,”

He added.

Quote:
“However, Nigerians should be smarter than these selfish politicians who are now doing everything possible to distract them. The only option left to solve the nation’s challenges, is disintegration. Anything aside that is deceit.

“They are now running helter-skelter, trying to use the officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) to intimidate Nigerians. Please, tell the DSS to go find a better job to do if they cannot hunt down criminals.

“Nobody can intimidate the Nigerian people who speak for the oppressed. The DSS should start building more prisons in Abuja to put millions of Nigerians who have decided to part ways.

“They are not at peace with themselves anymore; DSS should face insecurity and bring Boko Haram and Fulani terrorists to justice, not to try to harass the citizens. How many Fulani herdsmen or Boko Haram members are in their custody?

“They cannot restructure Nigeria because they know it won’t favour them. All they want is to allow Nigerians to continue to suffer. They know what to do to make the citizens happy, but choose not to.

“They become very adamant about the direction they believe their interests will take them without considering others. Since they don’t want to do it, God will disintegrate Nigeria for her citizens and things will go back to normal.

“Nobody can fix Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari unless the country divides before 2023. Is it Tinubu who has failed to speak for his people? Is it PDP? Apart from this, physically and mentally, Buhari is stronger than Tinubu.

“God will do what He will do to disintegrate Nigeria and set the people free from destiny killers. The failing state of Nigeria’s education system is worrisome.

“Should we also talk about unemployment, insecurity and bad economy? The Lord is currently working in Nigeria, and He will finish the project very shortly,”

He said.

Update: Woman who murdered her housemate after she refused to have sex with her is sentenced to 23 years to life

Gareeca Gordon (Left),  murdered Phoenix Netts.
A woman who murdered her friend and dismembered her body after she refused to have sex with her, has been jailed for life with a minimum of 23 and a half years.

Gareeca Gordon, 28, murdered Phoenix Netts, also 28, at the property where they both lived in Birmingham on April 16 last year.

Gordon, a Jamaican national stabbed Miss Netts four times, causing fatal injuries, before cutting her body into six parts with a circular saw she bought on Gumtree for £45.

Gordon admitted to killing Ms. Netts after being accused of stabbing the former student to death at the HMO property the pair shared in Lozells, West Birmingham, on 16 April.

The killer pleaded guilty to the murder a few days before she was due to stand trial.

Prosecutor Andrew Smith QC said the victim had told a friend in February that Gordon had "demanded sex with her" and became "aggressive" when she refused.

On 7 April, she texted a friend: "There's a girl here who keeps asking me to be sexual. I think I'm going to move back to London. It's scaring me lol."

Bristol Crown Court heard that Gordon called the Samaritans on 11 April and appeared "tipsy".

"The clear focus of the call was Ms Gordon describing that she liked another woman and wanting to have sex with her," Mr Smith said.

"At one stage Ms Gordon said either that her loins were warming up or were hot."

Ms Netts' last-known contact was a phone call with a friend in the early hours of 16 April.

Internet searches including "how to fix punctured lung", "internal bleeding" and "can someone recover from getting stabbed" were made on her phone between 1.04pm and 3.07pm, the court heard.

The victim had been stabbed four times in the front of her torso but according to a post-mortem she would have lived if she had got swift medical help.

Another woman living in the shared accommodation heard drilling and banging noises, as well as shouts of "help me, help me", Mr Smith told the court.

She said Gordon had gone to 'considerable efforts' to dispose of the remains of Ms. Netts and to pretend she was still alive in 'cold and calculated' messages to her friends and family.

'You impersonated Ms Netts in a substantial number of WhatsApp messages to her mother, including requests for money,' the judge told Gordon.

'You impersonated her in messages. You noted expressions that Ms. Netts used by listening to audio files Ms Netts had on her phone.'

Gordon had no previous convictions, apart from two offences of shoplifting. She had been diagnosed with a personality disorder as well as post-traumatic stress disorder.

Sentencing Gordon to life with a minimum term of 23 years and six months at Bristol Crown Court, judge Mrs. Justice Cutts described Miss Netts as a 'deeply loved' person.

'Her future was looking bright, shining and promising. A fresh start was ahead of her,' the judge told Gordon

'You robbed her of that fresh start. You took her from the supportive parents who loved and cherished her.'

Justice Cutts told Gordon that her personality disorder may explain 'in part' why she killed Ms Netts but it had not "distorted" reality for her at the time.

Mrs Justice Cutts said: 'Gareeca Gordon for the murder of Phoenix Netts I sentence you to life imprisonment.

'You will serve a minimum term of 23 years and six months. Thereafter, it will be for the parole board to decide when, if ever, you should be released.

'If you are ever released, you will remain on licence for the rest of your life.'

Kogi Secretary of MACBAN, Mr Adamu Abubakar told newsmen on Tuesday May 4 that Damina was abducted on April 30 by armed men  numbering about eight and dressed in army camouflage.

He said the armed men came in a white bus at about 12 noon to “forcefully” take away the Chairman from his house at Chikara village, Kogi Local Government.  Abubakar further revealed that he was informed of the incident about an hour later by the younger brother of Miyetti Allah Chairman who claimed to have witnessed the incident.

Dog bites 18-month-old baby in the face, missing her eye by fraction of an inch in unprovoked attack

An 18 month old baby has been left traumatised after being bitten on the face by a dog in an unprovoked attack.

Toddler, Kelsie Male, was thrown back onto the pavement after an Alsatian dog lunged and sunk its teeth into her face missing her eye by just millimetres.

Her mother Sophie Garth, 28, who was a few steps behind, desperately ran to help her out and then rushed the bloodied and bruised girl to hospital.

Sophie and her partner Stuart Male, 33, went strolling with their three older children when the attack took place last week Saturday.

According to Sophie, they were walking down the pavement near to their home when the dog appeared from nowhere and immediately lunged for Kelsie's face.

The baby was thrown backwards by the force of the animal and sustained minor injuries but her parents say the incident has left the baby deeply traumatized.

The family, from Portland, Dorset, say the attack has left their youngest daughter waking up crying in the night, unhappy to be left alone and 'jumpy' around both people and other dogs.

Mother Sophie said: 'Watching that dog go for my daughter is a sight that will sadly never leave me and I can still hear her crying when I close my eyes.

'I was about four steps behind her on the pavement but the dog just came out of nowhere, completely unprovoked - it was bigger than her and sent her flying off the curb onto the floor.

'It was awful seeing her in so much pain as she is such a lovely little girl with a big heart.

'Thankfully her injuries are mainly recovered now, but the situation could have been so much different if the dog had bitten just millimetres higher on her face and got her in the eye.

'She's still traumatised - she wakes up in the night crying, she gets jumpy around everyone and she doesn't want to be left alone.'

Police attended the scene but no arrests were made. The dog was believed to be owned by a visiting friend of one of the street's residents.

As Sophie and Stuart rushed their daughter to Weymouth hospital, they said Kelsie's face and mouth were bleeding and she had bruises all over her back from the fall.

Sophie added: 'She had blood over one side of her face but I was so scared to touch her in case I hurt her or caused it to get infected.

'She cried for hours without stopping - I will never be able to forget the sound of those cries.'

Sophie said: 'What happened that day will never leave my memory - my beautiful little girl was bitten for no reason.

'You never expect this kind of thing will ever happen to your child, she is such a lovely girl, she has a big heart, and she was a huge animal lover before this.

'She's incredibly lucky that the dog missed her eye or this could have been so much worse, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

'We're just praying that she will get over the trauma and go back to how she was before.

'I just want this to be a warning to other parents to be wary letting their children near dogs you don't know - you can never be sure what might happen and it's not worth the risk.'

Military Rejects Call To Take Over Power, Declares Loyalty To Buhari
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 05-04-2021, 04:15 PM - No Replies

Quote:The military authorities yesterday rejected a call by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Robert Clarke for it to take over power and declared loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Constitution.

It also restated its commitment to democratic rule.

The military authorities further issued a stern warning to military personnel contemplating any treasonable act to desist from doing so, saying the full wrath of the law would be brought upon them.

The declaration of loyalty to the president followed a comment attributed to Clarke, calling on government to hand over to the military for the purpose of restructuring Nigeria.

A statement issued by the Director, Defence Information (DDI), Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu, said the loyalty of the military establishment was irrevocable

“The attention of the military high command has been drawn to a statement purported to have been made by one Robert Clark (SAN), suggesting that the current political leadership should hand over power to the military for the purpose of restructuring.

“The Nigerian Military wishes to dissociate itself from such anti-democratic utterance and position. Let it be stated categorically that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remains fully committed to the present administration and all associated democratic institutions”, it said.

The Defence Headquarters maintained that: “We shall continue to remain apolitical, subordinate to the civil authority, firmly loyal to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and the 1999 Constitution as amended.

“We shall continue to discharge our constitutional responsibilities professionally, especially in protecting the country’s democracy, defence of the territorial integrity of the country as well as protection of lives and properties of citizens”.

“The military high command wishes to use this opportunity to warn misguided politicians who nurse the inordinate ambition to rule this country outside the ballot box to banish such thoughts as the military under the current leadership remain resolute in the defence of Nigeria’s Democracy and its growth”, it said.

The DHQ further stated that it amounted to treason for any military personnel to contemplate such act.

“We also wish to remind all military personnel that it is treasonable to even contemplate this illegality. The full wrath of the law will be brought to bear on any personnel found to collude with people having such agenda.

“The current security challenges are not insurmountable. The Armed Forces of Nigeria in partnership with other security agencies are working assiduously to ameliorate the challenge. Nigeria will know peace again. Please be warned!”, it said

Amaechi: I Never Said Government Has Been Printing Money Since 2015

Quote:Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has described as ‘false’ reports that he said the government has been printing money since 2015.

He urged Nigerians to disregard the publication circulating on the social media on the issue.

A social media report claimed the Minister made the disclosure in an interview with journalists prior to the 2019 general elections.

The report also claimed Amaechi also disclosed the cabinet members swore an oath never to publicly admit to Nigerians that the government was on a printing spree of the national currency.

Reacting to the report, the Minister, in a statement by his Media Assistant, Taiye Elebiyo-Edeni, said he does not qualify to talk on such issues.

He said: “I have never head any financial institution in the country and therefore did not qualify as an authority in the issues that concerns printing of money into the economy.

“I advise Nigerians who wants information on printing of money to find out from the appropriate agency and not circulate false statement to gain cheap publicity.”

One of the suspects who kidnapped and killed 6-year-old Kaduna boy pictured spending quality time with his own children

Sani Adamu a.k.a Galadima, one of the suspects who kidnapped and killed 6-year-old Mohammed Kabir in Kaduna State, is pictured having fatherly moment with his own children.

      Late Kabir

Galadima, a dismmissed military personnel while being paraded alongside three other accomplices at the Kaduna Police headquarters on Monday May 3, explained how he and another suspect suffocated the boy after collecting a ransom of N1m from his parents.

The suspect said he held the boy’s legs while Umar Mainasara, a water vendor covered his nose to suffocation.

Speaking to journalists, Galadima who lives in Badarawa, near the boy’s family home, claimed that Nazifi, a next-door neighbour of Mohammed’s parents was the mastermind of the kidnapping and had cajoled the boy to go on an errand where Galadima abducted him.

He said the boy was then taken to Zaria and later Kano where they kept him in the custody of the fourth suspect, Amina who happened to be his girlfriend.

He said Nazifi was not happy that they collected only a million naira from the victim’s father because he believed Mohammed’s father could afford more than that.

"Nazifi later called to tell me that there was a problem and that we should make sure the boy does not return home because he may have recognised him as the person who sent him on an errand. So, I went back to Kano, took Mohammed to a drain system where we killed him,” he said.

According to him, Amina knew nothing about the kidnapping because he had lied to her that the boy was his late brother’s son whose mother couldn’t keep him.

However, the alleged mastermind of the kidnapping, Nazifi denied all the allegations saying he was being framed. He said he had not sighted the victim for a long time despite being his father’s neighbour because he always travels to Abuja where he sells cloth.

On his part, Umar Mainasara also denied taking part in the killing but confessed his role as the negotiator adding that he had also picked the ransom on behalf of the group.

“I don’t know who killed the boy amongst them, all I knew was that Galadima took the boy to Kano. My role was to negotiate with the victim’s father, which I did and I was given N150,000 as my share,” he said.

Woman stripped naked by her 'dad and brothers', flogged mercilessly, gagged, and filmed after she was allegedly caught with a sex toy (video)

A horrific video shows a woman begging as she was subjected to extreme torture by her "dad and brothers", allegedly because she was caught with a sex toy.

The woman was stripped naked, held down by at least for grown men said to be her family members, and flogged mercilessly while she pleaded.

"Daddy please... brother please... mummy..." The woman is heard begging in Igbo as the men held her down and flogged her.

One of her male family members gagged her with a cloth when her screaming got too loud.

She was warned that the flogging will start from the beginning if she doesn't stop screaming.

She tried to turn from the cane but her brothers were too strong for her.

"Pour water on her," a male voice is heard saying and someone pours water on her then continues flogging her naked body.

At some point, she's seen looking too weak to struggle.

Her skin had already turned purple with cane marks all over her butt and back. Blood can also be seen running down her face.

A voice then orders that water be poured all over her body and someone pours more water on her.

The men leave her at this moment and she turns around and tries to curl up on the floor with her legs closed.

But she was told to open her thighs so they can see the lady parts she's using to misbehave.

She hesitated and they warned her that the beating will start again. So, she opens her legs and they begin flogging her on her private part.

The horrific video is going viral online as people ask for help in finding the family members who subjected the woman to such torture.

Some have claimed the men are not her family members and she was using the term "daddy" and "brother" to appeal to their conscience.

Photos of the alleged mastermind of the attack has been circulated online but it cannot be confirmed if the man had a hand in the horrific abuse.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY 4TH MAY.

THE FULLNESS OF HIM

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all (Ephesians 1:22-23).

Have you ever thought about the fact that the Church is the fullness of Christ? We’re the completion of Christ; He’s the head, and we’re the body. We’re the fullness of Him that fills everything.
John 1:16 says, “And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” We’ve received of His fullness. When you received the Holy Spirit, you received ALL of Him. Your humanity was supplanted by the life and nature of God. Today, you’re God’s living tabernacle; you’re immersed in Him and He in you. Hallelujah!

You’ve received in all fullness everything that’s of deity in Christ Jesus. All of His power, glory, dominion, strength and wisdom; everything He is, owns and represents—you have received! Imagine if you’ve lived all your life with this consciousness?
Remember the words of Jesus in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life, and have it to the full.” You didn’t need more life from God when you were born again; all that He’s got, you have received. You’ve received of His ability, wisdom, knowledge, glory and dominion.

No wonder John tells us in 1 John 4:17, “...As He is, so are we in this world….” If we had less life than He does, we wouldn’t be described as “the fullness of Him” (Ephesians 1:23). Each one of us is filled in Him, and with Him. You’re replete with God. This was God’s plan from the foundation of the world: for us to be and have His fullness; and He accomplished it in Christ Jesus, and by sending the Holy Spirit to live in us.

CONFESSION

I’m full of God; His glory is in me and expressed through me. I’m the reflection of the grace, wisdom, and righteousness of God. I’ve received of His fullness; therefore, my life is a continuous manifestation of Christ and the supernatural! Hallelujah!

#TALKINGSESSION

Precious Father, I thank You for Your superabundant grace in my life, and Your glory that I bear. Thank You for the grace of Jesus Christ that has made me rich in all things. You’ve granted me all things that pertain to life and godliness, and for this, I praise Your holy Name.

I’ve received increased grace and ability to fulfil the ministry of reconciliation to those in my world and in the regions beyond.

I’m fervent in soul-winning and intercession; through me, the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ shines brightly in the hearts of men, destroying the shackles of bondage and darkness, and lighting up in them passion for Christ and His righteousness.

I thank You for You’ve strengthened me from within; therefore, every form of weakness and fear is gone from me.

I’m strengthened with the strength of God, and with joy, I draw water from the wells of salvation, because the joy of the Lord is my strength.

Thank You for the blessing of Your Word, which indeed is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Thank You for the enlightenment it has given me.

I’m thus better equipped to be all You created me to be, and fulfil my divine destiny in You, for Your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you[Image: 20210130_1115072.png]
