RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SUNDAY 3RD MAY.

LIFE IS A RACE

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain (1 Corinthians 9:24).

The Amplified Classic Version of the scripture above says, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.” Life is a race, a competition.

Thus, in the race of life, you’re to run in such a way as to win the prize. Don’t “run” (live) like it doesn’t matter In the 25th verse of 1 Corinthians 9, Paul said, “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things.

Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.” To be temperate in all things means to exercise selfcontrol; to play by the rules. In the race of life, you must be careful what you do and how you live, because you’re in the race to win.

If those who compete in Athletics for “a corruptible crown” buffet themselves and run with purpose and definitiveness, how about us whose race is spiritual, and our crown, incorruptible? Always live with the consciousness to obtain the prize from Jesus Christ.

Our walk of faith and in the faith isn’t for nothing. There’s a prize to be won, but there’s a discipline to go through, if you must win.

To have a great life, there’s a discipline required; the discipline to do the Word and be yielded to the leading of the Spirit. That’s what guarantees your victory.

CONFESSION

I count not myself to have apprehended; but this is the one thing that I do: I forget those things which are behind, and reach forth to those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I’m a spiritual sportsman, equipped for the life of victory with the Word. Praise God!

#TALKINGSESSION

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful privilege of being Your child and the inheritance that’s mine in Christ.

You’ve granted me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You; the eyes of my understanding are flooded with light to know and walk in Your perfect will.

I have skill, discernment, rare understanding, and function with the spirit of excellence. I am so glad that in Christ I am divinely positioned and enabled to influence my world with Your grace and impart hope to the hopeless.

I walk in the prearranged paths which You made ready for me before the foundations of the world.

I am guided by Your Spirit to walk in wisdom and understanding, filled with the thoughts of righteousness.

I am guided and regulated by the Word, today, and always. Hallelujah! Thank You, for lifting me as a source of hope to the world.

Thank You for loving me, and depositing Your love in my heart by Your Holy Spirit.

I make a deliberate choice to let that love radiate through me to others today.

I refuse to walk in bitterness, hatred, or malice, but choose to walk in love because I am the love-child of a love-God!

I manifest the love of the Father in all things and every situation, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: SUNDAY 3RD MAY 2020.

THEME: A TIME TO FIGHT!

MEMORISE:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  2 Timothy 4:7

READ: 1 Timothy 6:11-21

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

MESSAGE

Fighting involves violent struggles against a real or perceived enemy, either offensively or defensively. Most people have one things or the other that they would fight for. It could be their fundamental human rights, source of livelihood, prestige, possession etc. However, the question is: Should a true Christian have any justifiable reason to fight? The answer is YES! Ecclesiastes 3:8 says there is:
“A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Indeed, Christians are not called to take up arms and launch offensive attacks on their neighbors, but we have a right to self-defense. The kingdom of God is now under immense attack; His creative order, commandments and principles are being maliciously attacked by heretics. Surprisingly, some of these enemies of the gospel have managed to rise to positions of authority both in the Church and the society at large. Their celebrity status in the world today has aided their evil attacks on the Christians faith. Do we stand aloof or fight whenever these attacks occur around us? 1 Timothy 6:12 says “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

Christians are called to fight. Everyone is fully aware of the ongoing conflicts around us: physically, mentally, and spiritually. We are daily confronted with contrary doctrines and diverse kinds of temptation.

The survival of a child of God therefore depends on his or her preparedness for battle and the ability to fight. Your weapons of warfare are however not carnal. Study Ephesians 6 and evaluate the completeness and readiness of your weaponry. It is time to fight against ungodliness. We must fight for holiness, peace and love. We are soldiers and must always be alert in the spirit at all times. The devil will not succeed over you and your loved ones in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

Raise the banner of JESUS!

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to be victorious in the battle of life, in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 5:11-6:23
1 Chronicles13-16

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 23:  ONWARD, CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS.

1. Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!
o Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

2. At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

3. Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

4. Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
But the church of Jesus constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never ’gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.

5. Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages men and angels sing.

RESTORATION TODAY

SUNDAY, MAY 3, 2020.

TOPIC: *ULTIMATE SAFETY*

"The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul." Psalm 121:7.

*MESSAGE*
When a society experiences a sudden strange sound, everyone panics, looking for a place for safety. However, in such a scenario, not everyone finds true safety where they run to.

The word of God has informed us that the watchers watch in vain if God does not watch the city. The promise for believers is that a the mountains surrounds Jerusalem, so shall the Lord surround His people. The Lord is the only One who can ganrantee true safety to anyone. This is the Lord who sees the beginning and the end of all things.

Our text today says: "The Lord shall preserve (protect, to keep and maintain the condition) from all evil." This means that no evil will be left to harm your life for you shall be delivered from all of it. If the Lord preserves (protect), He protects you, your family and business--even including the entire property you have.

As you go out today, know that He has sent His angels, His angels, His rod and staff to protect you. (Psalm 23:4)

*ACTION POINT*
?   Commit everything you have to God (Psalm 37:5)

?  Man cannot protect you, only God can.

?  Never depend on your strength.

*SCRIPTURES*
Psalm 37:5; Psalm 23:4; Psalm 91:7; Psalm 119:105.

*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Ask God to direct your path this morning;

2. Pray for the Church and the society for God's mercy;

3. Hand over all you have to God that He should keep them safe.

*THE BIBLE OF THE YEAR*
Num. 14 , Prov. 11 , 1 Pet. 5 .

SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

BY DR. PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE

SUNDAY 3RD MAY, 2020

TOPIC: THE IMPLICATIONS OF DEDICATION TO GOD

SCRIPTURE: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be dedicated to God is to make Him the reason for your existence.

Previously, we saw that dedication to God is a non-negotiable duty of man. We saw reasons why we must be dedicated to God.

We noted that the best of man comes out in the Presence of God.

And of course beloved, you don’t know the potential you carry until you hang around God. For example, in my life, I have seen multiplicity of graces by hanging and remaining with God. So, man’s greatest potential comes out of his unity with and commitment to God.

This is a major reason we must be dedicated to God. Now, having looked at the reasons for dedication, the question is, what does dedication imply?

I will give you three implications of dedication:
1. Dedication implies going all the way with God.
In Genesis 12:1, God told Abraham to come out of his father’s house and go to a land he would show him.

Abraham departed as the Lord commanded him (Gen. 12:5). He went all the way with God. Before this time, in Genesis 11:26-32, Terah, Abraham’s father, started the journey to Canaan, but he could not go all the way with God. He stopped in the land of Haran and died there. But Abraham took the journey forward and went all the way with God to the land of Canaan.

Beloved, determine to go all the way with God in your journey with Him.

2. Dedication to God implies making God the Centre of one’s life.

To be dedicated to God is to make Him the reason for your existence. Being dedicated to God is coming to a point where you have decided that your life is absolutely meaningless without God.

That is what Apostle Paul means in Philippians 1:21 when he says: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” When a person is dedicated to God, if it is not Christ, life has no meaning. Other people may have other reasons to live but a dedicated person lives only for Christ.

3. Dedication to God implies the absolute ownership of one’s life by God
In Genesis 14:19, Melchizedek addressed Abraham as “Abraham of the Most High God.” Dedication is coming to a point where you have given God the license to own your life and all that make up your life. You allow God to own your life, your time, your resources, your talents and all.

Beloved, always remember that you have only one life to live. Make up your mind to live that one life only in the way that will glorify God.

Remember this: To be dedicated to God is to make him the reason for your existence.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to go all the way with God.
2. Allow God to take the centre stage of your life.
3. Allow God to own you completely and all that you have.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your insightful Word to me today. I ask for the grace to go all the way with You. Take the centre stage of my life and own me completely, Lord, in Jesus Name.

OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR CHAMPIONS

DATE: SUNDAY 3RD MAY, 2020

TOPIC: FROM THE FLOOR TO THE KING’S TABLE!
BASIC SCRIPTURES: (2 SAMUEL 9:1-7; ISAIAH 49:22:23)

It is John Mason who wrote: “Most people fail because they cannot join the beginning and the end.” Be reminded and as stated in the last edition, that the life of Mephibosheth moved from the FLOOR and ended up in the king’s palace!

It is almost impossible to join the two extremes together with your brain due to the SUDDEN RISE.
But thank God that though he was on the floor, he didn’t die on the floor; he was alive to witness his elevation to the king’s table.

And that shall be your life’s story this year. You will be alive to experience your own palace this year in Jesus name. Just like Joseph, Mephibosheth was in the pit because apart from being lame on his feet, he was in Lo Debar. Lo Debar was a pastureless land, a dry, hopeless and abandoned place just like the pit of Joseph.

And just as Mephibosheth came out of Lo Debar, the Holy Ghost wants you to know that no matter the pit you are in, you will come out in Jesus name. Vs. 1 of today’s 1st scripture says:

“And David said, ‘Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” David remembered the house of Saul because of the goodness of Jonathan to him.

May your good works speak for you and your children! That is why you should be careful about what you do so that your negatives will not hinder your children.

So, the first lesson here is that you must learn to sow good seeds of kindness, love and care to others this year, it will trigger your elevation testimony.

What will people, your generation and indeed heaven remember you for when you die at God’s appointed time?

It was the good works of Jonathan, Mephibosheth’s father that triggered his elevation party in spite of his disability. Ah! I Prophesy: You disability in life and ministry and a million enemies cannot stop your Divine Elevation hour this year. Mephibosheth was lame on his feet! Being lame means he was helpless just like Joseph, but he became a STAR.

You can be lame in your job, career, business, marriage, finances etc, and you can’t help yourself, but the God who moved Mephibosheth from the floor of shame, rejection, demotion and disgrace etc shall move you out too.

There was a ROYAL KNOCK on the door of Mephibosheth right there at Lo Debar. That knock turned everything around in the life and destiny of Mephibosheth.

Ah! I decree as I am commanded now: YOU SHALL HEAR A DIVINE ROYAL KNOCK! A knock of remembrance! A knock of favour!

A knock of promotion and a knock of elevation in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Oh! You shall dine with kings this year. Yes, yes, yes! Kings shall be your nursing fathers and Queens shall be your nursing mothers! Did you know that King David, his Queens and the entire royalty later nursed and served Mephibosheth? Thank You Jesus! That’s why you must never give up on God and yourself.

Hear Jack Ma: “Never give up. Today is hard, tomorrow may be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine.” Yes! I see sunshine ahead! You shall move from the floor! Hold on always!

PRAYER POINTS: Take any song of adoration as led.

1. Thank God for today’s word and pray as led now.
2. LORD, take me out of Lo Debar! Lo Debar must reject my destiny this year in Jesus name.
3. My Father, my Father, I curse every lameness in my life, career, finances and ministry etc now; I shall rise again in Jesus name.
4. Pray about any other issue(s) affecting your peace now.

*CAC LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE*

*Sunday, May 3, 2020 - World Press Freedom Day*

*TOPIC:**TALK IS CHEAP, BUT ALSO COSTLY*
*Read: Ecclesiastes 5:1-7*

Ecclesiastes 5:1-7 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.
*MEMORISE: And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words (Matthew 6:7)*

*EXPOSITION*

All over the world, there is the agitation for freedom of speech, and activists from the different countries are rising against their governments wherever they feel that rights of the citizens are being violated in respect of speech. That sounds right. Isn't it? This is part of what is being advocated on the World Press Freedom Day, being marked today.

It is however worthy of note that many have gone to jail or been dragged to court for talking more than necessary.

God also expects that His children enter into His house with all reverence and decorum. Many churches are experiencing chaos due to members' inability to bridle their tongues.

Who are you in your group, or department in the church? We must know that multitudes of words lead to vanity. Do you have time for sermons and the Sunday School lessons in your assembly?

If that is the time you take yourself two by two for discussions, then, sorry, you are missing it. God desires your total attention.

So, boasters and talkative, beware! Do you make a vow without fulfilling it? While you may not be penalized for not making a vow, penalties await you when you vow or pledge but fail to redeem it.

God is more interested in what He wants to give, and make of you, than what you want to give to Him. Remember that the tongue though, a little member, can set the whole city ablaze. Avoid rash promises like Jephthah (Jdg. 11:30-34). Samson also broke his Nazarite vow many times (Jdg. 14:19; 16:17-20), which led to his downfall.

The law of vow is that it must be fulfilled at all cost (Matt. 5:33-37). Are you a man/woman of integrity? Do you place any worth on yourself? Beware, how you apply your tongue (Jam. 3:1ff).

*PRAYER POINTS*

1. Lord, control my passions and emotions not to be hurting.
2. O Lord, bring our youths back to the Church, who though are in churches, but not in Christ.
3. Father, rebuke and reduce anger and vendetta among our church leaders, so it doesn't tear the church apart, any further.

*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: 1 Samuel 24 - 25 & Romans 8*

*God we pray in this month of May, cause us to laugh again and give testimony of our deliverance in Jesus name. Amen............Shalom*

BETTER LIFE MESSAGE

DATE : SUNDAY MAY 3, 2020

TOPIC: VICTORY ALL THE TIME

TEXT  : “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” 2Cor 2:14

Ups and downs is natural and normal those in the world but to the blood- washed saints, life in Christ is ordained for an unending progress, upward, forward ever and victory all the time because our God is the one who causes us to triumph always in Christ – Proverbs 4:18, 1John 4:4, 5:4

You are not a failure because you fell, your refusal to rise from where you fell is what makes you a failure according to the scriptures – Proverbs 24:16

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Micah 7:8 “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy:
when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”

If you succeed to secure God’s backing, the battles and challenges of life will be a walk-over.

FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST –

1.    You are not of this world – John 15:19, 18:36, 8:23, 1John 4:4
Refuse the mentality of the world. Romans 12:2
2.    You are now seated in heavenly places in Christ far above all that the devil, his demonic and human agents has to offer – Ephesians 2:6, 1:18-23
3.    Greater one (Trinity) now lives in you – 1John 4:4, 2Cor 6:16
4.    You are now a carrier of God’s presence – John 14:23, Matthew 28:20
5.    You are now a god to all contrary situations and winds – John 10:34-35, Psalms 82:5:7, Acts 14:11

HOW TO ENFORCE YOUR VICTORY ALL THE TIME
Life’s challenges are winnable all the time, the kind and the size notwithstanding (Financial, marital, health related issues, unfruitfulness, business, career, academics, curses etc) if you are not going to give up halfway.

1.    See all battles from the spiritual angle address it from there to the physical – 2Cor 10:3-4, Ephesians 6:12
2.    Size every challenge up with your God after the order of David – 1Samuel 16:37, 45-47
3.     Be strong in the Lord to confront the battles – Ephesians 6:10
4.    Armed yourself with the whole armour of God and  scriptural truth as it relates to your situation (I.e. your rights as a redeemed child of God, His provisions and bible characters that overcome similar challenges) – John 8:32, Ephesians 6:13-15
5.    Faith-rooted reaction with holy anger against the situation on the altar of prayer – Mark 11:23, 1Samuel 17:45-47
You must rise up with holy anger and confront the situation with the right words. Job 6:25
6.    Speak what you desire to see always with faith in line with the word of God and not what you are going through – Genesis 1:1-31, Hebrews 11:1-3, Psalms 37:30-31, 34:11-13, Proverbs 18:20-21, Ecclesiastes 5:6,
What you say continuously is what you are bound to see and experience.
7.    Celebrate God’s faithfulness in thanksgiving and praise irrespective of the happenings – Romans 4:20, Psalms 67:5-7
8.    Begin to act in line with your expectations – Proverbs 23:18, 24:13-14

Please understand that the battles of life are allowed by God to advance your life and destiny though the devil meant otherwise but before the battle came, a way of escape is already available in God through His words – 1Cor 10:13
You will surely win this your current battle with testimony to show.

CHEER UP, THE WORD WORKS, YOU ARE A WINNING WINNER ALL THE TIMES.

Today in the mighty name of Jesus, I command all satanic gang-ups with their human agents that are out to bring you down to scatter beyond regrouping and the good hand of God to come upon you for victory, divine speed, favour and unimaginable divine provision this week and beyond. Isaiah 54:14-17, Ezekiel 34:25-29

SEE YOU AT THE TOPMOST TOP.

REMAIN EVER BLESSED.

JESUS IS LORD.
