RHAPSODY OF REALITIES 

MONDAY 16TH MARCH



ANYONE CAN BE SAVED


But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

Our theme scripture is quite instructive; it reveals the reason certain people find it difficult to give their hearts to Jesus Christ; Satan is behind it. Once, I ministered to someone who was willing to give his life to Christ, but he was reluctant to confess the Lordship of Jesus. I knew what the problem was. So, I said, “In the Name of Jesus, you lying devil, come out of him!” Instantly, he opened his mouth and made the confession of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and he was born again. Glory to God!


There’re people who won’t give their lives to Jesus Christ because demon spirits wouldn’t let them. That’s why it’s important to intercede for the lost, rebuking the devil and the darkness in their hearts, so they’d receive the glorious light of the Gospel of Christ. Think about the fact that a fellow left his house, willing to go to church, but as soon as he approached the entrance of the church, he wouldn’t go in. 

The brethren tried every way to persuade him to enter the church, but he wouldn’t budge. An evil spirit that had followed him all his life would let him go anywhere else, but church.


However, while he was at the door, the Word of God was being taught inside the church. And suddenly, he became calm, and entered for the service. As those who had tried to persuade him began to wonder at the sudden change of mind, he said to them, “A spirit walked out of me.”


Imagine how many people want to come to church or give their lives to Christ, but are being hindered by the devil. But that’s where we come in. Jesus gave us authority to cast out devils (Mark 16:17); it’s one of the signs of our divinity. So, in preaching the Gospel, when you find people who seem to be resisting the message, intercede for them, that the devil would lose his grip on them. Don’t give up on anyone, for anyone can accept the Gospel of Christ and be saved.

PRAYER


I thank you blessed Father, for the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ that floods the earth, resulting in the massive salvation of souls around the world! The power and influence of Satan is broken and the hearts and minds of many are open to receive the message of the Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the life of splendour, grace, prosperity, and greatness You've brought me into. I am established in Your righteousness, planted in the house of the Lord; therefore, I flourish like the palm tree, with grace and glory! 

I bring forth fruit in season, and out of season, because I am like a tree planted by the waters, ever in blossom. I walk day after day by the light of God’s Word. 

I am not moved by the natural circumstances that exist in the world. God’s Word is the light by which I operate in my job, finances, family and everything that concerns me. 

I am aware of God’s bountiful provisions for me, and I am enjoying them, because I see by the greater light of His Word.

 I am excelling and making progress on every side, and my faith is prevailing over circumstances, as I walk in the fullness of Your blessings. I am an offspring of the Word; a joint heir with Christ, therefore, the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, for I have a goodly heritage. 

I am conscious of my glorious heritage in Christ, and through meditation on the Word, and fellowship with the Spirit, I get to know more and enjoy my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen!

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THEME: THE WIND I.

MEMORISE:

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8

READ:  Acts 2:1-4

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

MESSAGE 

The first sign of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost was that there was a sound of a mighty rushing wind that filled the upper room (Acts 2:2). Before the apostle saw the fire, they heard the sound of the wind. In Genesis 2:7, the Bible tells us that when God formed man, He breathed into him. From the innermost being of the Almighty God came a little bit of wind that went into lump of clay to make it into a living soul. Ecclesiastes 12:7 says:

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”

What God breathed into the dust that turned it into a living soul was the spirit. We can see therefore that there is a link between the Holy Spirit and the wind.

The Spirit can blow gently like a breeze. In Judges 13:24-25, the Bible talks about how the Spirit began to move Samson at times. Samson was growing up and Spirit, in form of a breeze was moving him, shaking him a little. Occasionally, when someone is experiencing the Holy Spirit for the first time, he may find himself shaking just a little; not violently or convulsing as in when manifesting demonic possession, but just shaking a little bit. That is the Holy Spirit moving like a breeze. Sometimes, when worshipping God- alone or even in a congregation, when the Holy Spirit takes over, a little shaking may be experienced, that is the Holy Spirit moving as a breeze. You need to be sensitive at times like that so the Holy Spirit can do His complete work in your life.

On the day of Pentecost, the wind came into the room and filled the whole place. In Genesis 1:1-2, when God made the Heaven and the earth, and the earth was void and without form, the Spirit moved over the whole earth. This tells you that when the Holy Spirit is moving during the service, it is not the time to begin to look around; but to be in and be moved by the Spirit.

Key into the manifestation of the Holy Spirt during private or corporate worship and trust Him to work wonders in your life.

TOPIC: *YOU NEED GOD'S ASSISTANCE*

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1Corinthians 15:57.

*MESSAGE*
 All of humankind is possessed with a tormenting disease called sin. On a daily basis we indulge in certain behaviours that can ultimately destroy us (e.g., drugs, adultery, fornication, drunkenness,   pornography, pride, lust, selfishness, etc). As Isaiah 64:6 declares, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." 

It is within our human nature to live and work for ourselves. But within the confines of scripture, we can find the guiding power freedom from the bondage of our sinful nature.1John 1:7-9   
for example offers us some guidance: "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

The more focused we are in the world, the less likely we are to do things that are holy. But the more focused we are on the cross, the less likely we are to do things that are sinful. Hebrews 12:2 offers us one more point of guidance: "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

#TOPIC : GROWING YOUR FAITH

#SCRIPTURE : "We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;" 2 Thessalonians 1:3

#THOUGHT FOR THE DAY : The Holy Spirit is the water that waters faith to grow.

It is clear from our anchor Scripture that faith is a living seed that grows. Faith has life and has the ability to grow (Matthew 17:20). Now, every seed requires the right environment for growth. If the environment is too cold, the seed will not grow; if it is too hot, the seed will be cooked.

Now, one requirement needed for the growth of faith is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the water that waters faith to grow (John 7:38, 39).

The Holy Spirit is the moisture of faith.
Now, for the Holy Spirit to water your faith, what must you do? These four things are necessary:
a. You need a regular fellowship with the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 10:1). Fellowship regularly with the Holy Spirit and appreciate God on a consistent basis for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

b. Invite the Holy Spirit to show you light from the Scriptures (John 14:26).:No one knows a subject like its author. The Holy Spirit has breathed into every passage of the Scripture, so when the Holy Spirit guides you in understanding, He will water your faith by giving you access to revelations.

c. Make demands consistently on the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17).
Always ask God for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so the Bible can become an opened Book for you. And before long, you will burst into the realm of visions and revelations.

d. Pray abundantly in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20).Every successful man in ministry must be a person of the supernatural; he prays abundantly in the spirit.

Beloved, when you walk consistently with the Holy Spirit, your faith will grow in God and you will experience the supernatural, in Jesus Name.

1. Study the Word of God and pray diligently to receive the impartation of the Holy Spirit.
2. Engage in praying in the Spirit (in tongues) as regularly as possible.

One of the secrets of walking with the wise is to listen to them! Job 12:12 says: “Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?” Share with me today, some Nuggets from the wise concerning 2020:

1. Jog or Brisk walk for 10-30 minutes each day.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
3. Stay hydrated (drink at least 2 litres of water per day).
4. Sleep for 8 hours a day.
5. Live with the three E’s (Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy).
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you read last month.
8. Make time to practice meditation, yoga and prayer.
9. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under than the age 6.
10. Dream more while you are awake.
11. Eat more fruits that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. 12. Try to make at least 3 people smile each day.
13. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
14. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner of mistakes of the past.
15. Don’t have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

TOPIC: WHILE ADVERSITIES LAST. . .
Read Job 1:13-22

MEMORISE: In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong (Job 1:22)

EXPOSITION

Adversities are no times of funfair or enjoyment. They are serious hard times. They are the darkest times in one's life. David was embattled with them, even while on the throne, as Israel's king (Psa. 3:3-5). This means adversities don't spare anyone. Not even being a Christian will shield you from having your own fair spare of the challenges of life (Jn. 16:33). Is that a bad news? No!

Adversities do two things. They either make you better, or bitter, depending on how you handle or manage them. When you are reacting, instead of responding to adversities, you become embittered.

 Things and people become extremely difficult to put up with, in the world, because you are negatively reacting. Nothing brings enthusiasm, ecstasy, faith and joy, again. Not even the Word of God does these again, because they have become bitter, due to the negative circumstances (cf. Prov. 24:10).

On the contrary, in the fierce face of adversities, when you remain calm and cool, unperturbed and unfazed, you are being made, rather than marred (Rom. 8:35). God is the potter working on you, clay (Jer. 19:1ff). He can decide that you pass through dew, fire and dust, before being finally made. While adversities in any form last, you should develop godly attitudes (character), be optimistic and have faith in Christ Jesus.

People like Job, Joseph, the three Hebrews, Daniel, etc. never allowed adversities to make them bitter; they became better with every fire of trial, or adversity. Dear reader, just toe the line, and share the message across, God helping you.

PRAYER POINTS

1. I receive the enabling grace to remain unshaken, in spite of the devil's buffeting, in Jesus' name.
2. O God, help saints who are being tried, everywhere, to be steadfast while their trials last.
3. O God, help our leaders, both in the Church and the nation, to take their stands in You, in the face of the toughest adversity.
