Daily Devotional for Wednesday 3rd April
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 3RD APRIL.

THREE WAYS TO TESTIFY.

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world (1 John 4:14).

There’re three ways you testify: one is by declaring before the Lord Himself what He did for you. You count your blessings and testify of His goodness in your personal life; you’re conscious of, and thankful for, all He’s done for you, in you, and with you, affirming that they happened by His grace, mercy, faithfulness, and love that endure forever.

Secondly, you testify with your offering. This is the part that not so many yet understand and practise: the power of the offering. It’s a testimony. When you give God your offering, it’s not a collection; it’s a hallowed oblation, with which you’re testifying that He’s God and not a man. With your offering, you’re testifying and giving glory to Him in your life.

The Patriarchs—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and his son Solomon—all gave offerings upon the altar in worship to God. Take Solomon, for example; 1 Kings 3:4 says, “…a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.” Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings where God would have accepted a much lesser figure; but it reflected His recognition and testimony of the greatness of God.

Apart from your offering being a celebration of the prosperity of God in your life, it’s also your affirmation or testimony of His greatness, and your recognition of His power and sovereignty.
The third way to testify is to tell others that which the Lord has done in, with, and for you. You tell of His goodness before men, living your life every day in faith, bearing fruits of righteousness. You’re joyful always, irrespective of circumstances.

It’s a testimony of your faith and confidence in the Lord when people see you and observe that you’re joyful and unruffled in the face of diverse tests. They observe that regardless of the pressures and adversities that you face, you’re steadfast, unmoved, always abounding in the work of the Lord; therefore, they’re inspired by your life of faith and trust in the Lord. That’s a testimony.
The aforementioned are basic ways that you testify to the glory of God in your life. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Blessed Father, you’re great, and greatly to be praised. Thank you for the blessings and miracles I experience in my life, which are acts of your love and kindness. The heavens and earth declare your mighty works, and testify of your infinite wisdom and grace, even as all creation sings “Hallelujah” to you, the eternal King of glory. Blessed are you forever. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Luke 17:17-19 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where [are] the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: WEDNESDAY 3RD APRIL 2019

THEME: BE QUITE!

MEMORISE:

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:26

READ: Isaiah 7:1-7

1And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.

3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field;

4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

MESSAGE

A calm, peaceful and restrained attitude to life, especially in the face of adverse circumstance, is God's desire for His people. He revealed His thoughts on this to us in Isaiah 32:17-18, saying:

“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;”

One proof that we have received the gift of righteousness from Jesus after we are saved is the presence of peace in our heart, and the effect of this peace is quietness even in the midst of adversity. As God’s own special people, He does not want us to panic or be troubled in our hearts like the people of the world are whenever the enemy blows the wind of adversity (John 14:1). In today's Bible reading, we see a king who's heart melted when he was told of his enemies’ conspiracy against him. In response to this, God send Prophet Isaiah to deliver his word to him saying in Isaiah 7:4a:

“………Take heed, and be quiet”

As kings and priests to our God, He says to us the same words He sent to King Ahaz - be quiet (Revelations 1:6). Are you surrounded by the dark clouds of life, with the winds of adversity blowing strongly against you? God is saying to you today “Be quiet”. You may ask why should I be quiet? It is because in your quiet submission to God, He will arise on your behalf, and your enemies shall be scattered. No Wonder Isaiah 30:15 says:

“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength:”

Jesus, Our perfect example, was presented as a man of quiet temperament (Matthew 12:14-20). He did not go around making noise or panicking over situations rather, He ruled over circumstances around Him by decree (Mark 4 35-39). In order to be like our Master, we are to be peaceful and quiet when in distress, when the enemy rises against us like a flood, and in the face of destructive criticism or rebellion. In these circumstances, one can only be quiet as a result of faith in God and to totally trust in his ability to work things out in our favor. In reality, whenever a child of God goes into quiet mode, God takes it as an invitation to step in on behalf of the fellow. You must realize that you are limited in all aspects of life, and stop fighting your battles all by yourself. Switch to quiet mode today and let Jesus take over your case He will give you the rest that you need, as He promised in Matthew 11:28.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, let Your righteousness continually manifest as quietness and confidence in my spirit in Jesus Name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Hebrews 1-4 and Jeremiah 10:1-16

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 5: LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU.

1.While passing thro' this world of sin,
and others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Refrain:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you.
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true;
Let others see Jesus in you.

2. Your life's a book before their eyes,
They're reading it thro' and thro'
Say, does it point them to the skis,
Do others see Jesus in you?

Refrain

3. Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave and true,
and lead the lost to life and Christ.
Let others see Jesus in you.

Refrain

*OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL*

_A DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR CHAMPIONS_

*DATE: WEDNESDAY 3RD APRIL, 2019*

*TOPIC: THE THREE OLD MEN! THE DOOR OPENER!*

*BASIC SCRIPTURE: 1CORINTHIANS 13:1-13*
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She noticed them and said: “I don’t know who you are, but you surely must be hungry. Come and eat.” “Is the man of the house home?” they asked. “No” she replied.

“Then we cannot come in.” When the husband returned, they both agreed that the men should come in for dinner. One of the old men then said, “We don’t go into any house together. Our names are, *Wealth, Success, and Love!* Go in and discuss with your husband, which one of us you want in your home, then the rest of us will look for other houses.” The husband exclaimed and said, “How nice! Since that is the case, *let’s hold unto wealth.”* The wife disagreed: *“Mu dear, let us invite success.”* Their daughter in-law was listening and she added: *“It will be better to invite Love.”* The husband then agreed and told them to invite Love first! The wife went out and asked that LOVE could come in for dinner. As LOVE got up and started walking towards the house, surprisingly, the other two also got up and followed him.

The surprised lady then ask: “I only invited LOVE. Why are you all coming in?” The old men replied together: *“If you had invited Wealth or Success, the two of us would’ve stayed out, but since you invited LOVE, wherever he goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!”*

Oh! What a lesson from the Holy Ghost! *Truly LOVE is the door opener* for other gifts from above because GOD IS LOVE! That’s why Satan will do all he can to store up hatred
bitterness in your heart towards others. Mahatma Ghandi said: *“Love is the strongest force the world possesses and yet it is the humblest imaginable.”* In this world of unjust/wicked men, false accusers, blackmailers, agreement (truce) breakers, inconsiderate and unfaithful men/women and in this second quarter of 2019, deliberately choose LOVE as your philosophy and then you will see other amazing, divine, STORY to GLORY blessings locate your life and ministry. Read the qualities of LOVE again in today’s scripture and pray seriously now!

Seed of Destiny

Wednesday 3rd April

TOPIC: THE SEVEN-WAY LIFESTYLE TEST

SCRIPTURE: And herein do I exercise myself,"to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. Acts 24":16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The state of our spirituality determines our audience with God; our spiritual health determines our material welfare.

Many times,"we wonder as children of God if God is pleased with our lifestyles and actions. Many times, we wonder whether we are doing well spiritually. This is because the state of our spirituality determines our audience with God; Our spiritual health determines our material welfare.

Now, how can we know if we are living our lives in accordance with the purpose of God? How can we know if our spiritual life is intact? Let me give you a seven-way test":

i. What is your motive?
What is the driving force in the things you do,"where you go, who you relate with, the way you dress, etc? Your motive determines whether you are pleasing God or you are being driven by consensus rather than by conviction. Is your life bringing glory to God?
ii. How does God feel about you?
Your life is either giving God pleasure or pain; excitement or embarrassment.
iii. What is the impact of your action on others?
Is your life impacting others positively or negatively? What is the implication of your existence on the lives of others around you?
iv. What identity does your life portray?
What is people’s overwhelming perception about you? What people perceive about you can affect your placement with God.
v. Can you boldly witness for Christ in your current situation?
Whatever lifestyle cannot make you represent Jesus either in the public or in private is not worth it. Your lifestyle can affect your confidence level in witnessing for Christ.
vi. Can you defend your actions on the judgment day when you appear before God?
Are your actions in this life defendable before God in eternity?
vi. Will anyone follow your example and be saved?
If anyone follows your example and ends up well in life, it confirms how well you are living your life.
Beloved, if you can assess yourself objectively and come up with positive conclusions from this seven-way test, then, you are on the right path with God.

REMEMBER THIS": The state of our lives determines our audience with God; our spirituality determines our material welfare.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Go through the study of today again
2. Endeavour to carry out periodic assessment of your life to see if you are on track with God.
PRAYER: O Lord,"I ask for Your grace not to lose sight of eternity. Let me live to give You joy all the days of my life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

*THE LIVING WATER*

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE*

*Wednesday, April 3, 2019*

*TOPIC: A CHECK ON YOU*
*Read: Luke 16:1-13*

*MEMORISE: _And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath’_ (Luke 16:2).*

*EXPOSITION*

With the unfortunate exception of the mentally sick, all patient would appreciate a get well soon visit from their family members and well-wishers. As a matter of fact, when a patient recovers and gets on his feet, he sends messages, write letters and makes calls, appreciating those who cared for him while his ailment lasted. However, no occupant of an office, be it political, secular or sacred wishes to be “checked”. Being “checked” here connotes many things-investigation, auditing, assessing, examination, and evaluation among others.

Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit expects you to do the needful at all times, because there comes one day when you will be checked. If man is going to check you, that is still somehow easy and, most times, can be manipulated. Why? He is corruptible and can compromise standards *(Psa. 14:1).* The books of accounts and other documents under your watch can be doctored in your favour, for one reason or the other, but the type of check being considered in this Living Water dose will not permit such because Christ, the Righteous Judge , is involved.

Before the coming check, you can do yourself pretty good by personally and sincerely looking into various things associated with you *(2 Cor. 13:5ff).*

Correction is still very much possible, but will be too late on the day of reckoning. Every man will give account of whatever he has done in the flesh *(Heb. 13:17).* Brother Paul admonishes that everyone should examine himself, whether we are still on the track of faith. There is no better pre-check than this, before the real check. Although, man naturally does not like to be checked in his excesses, for he knows not his limits, but an unavoidable and great check looms on the earth! Would you be able to do, if you have not been given a good account of yourself to God and man, now!

*PRAYER POINTS*

*1.* Lord, help me to always be conscious that Your eyes are everywhere watching the affairs of men, including mine.
*2.* Oh Lord, forgive all my past errors.
*3.* Holy Spirit, we rely upon You to always put us in order as a Church before we are judged for all our errors.
