*CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST IN YOU*

Tuesday, December 25th .


_*To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).*_

Today, the whole world is celebrating Christmas—the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. However, many don’t fully understand the spiritual significance of His birth. He was born into this world so He would live in us and through us.

If He doesn’t live in you, then you don’t understand Christmas, even though you join others to celebrate it. You’ve only heard a story, but you’ve got to believe, and come into the vital experience of that story by receiving Jesus Christ into your heart. Christ in you is the reason for Christmas. Everything Jesus came to accomplish was so it would be possible for man to become God’s living tabernacle. This was God’s plan all along, and He achieved it in the birth, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Now, through Jesus Christ, we’re in fellowship with God; we’re in union with Him. Refuse to see yourself as a nobody, because you’re a God-carrying vessel. Now that Christ lives in you, you’re sanctified and glorified.

Colossians 2:9 says concerning Jesus, _*“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”*_ As Jesus walked the earth, all of divinity was at home in Him. He was God alive in a man’s body; but guess what? We’re exactly like Him! 1 John 4:17 says, “As He is, so are we in this world.” Colossians 2:10 says,

_*“And ye are complete in him*_ (Christ)….” The Amplified Classic version makes it even clearer; it says, _*“And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].”*_

Therefore, like Jesus, the Godhead is at home in you; the fullness of the Godhead tabernacles in you. Blessed be God! This is the reason Jesus came—to make you one with God—to make you more than a conqueror! Have this consciousness as you celebrate Christmas, and live the victorious life that’s yours in Him.

*PRAYER*

*I’m full of God, because Christ is in me; He walks in me, He talks in me, and lives through me! The world is under my feet and I walk in glory and dominion, now and evermore, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

Thank you for making my life glorious and making me the effulgence of your righteousness, beauty,

wisdom, and grace. My life is excellent and full of glory because I am continually filled with the Spirit. I function from a vantage position of boldness, audacity, and victory in Christ Jesus, where I do not struggle but enjoy a blissful life of success, and an unending stream of the miraculous, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

THEME: WISE MEN INDEED.

MEMORISE:

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. Proverb 9:9


READ: Matthew 2:9-15

9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

MESSAGE

One proof that a man is wise is that he listens to instruction and takes to correction. In this regard, Proverbs 10:8 says:

“The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.”

Wisdom is considered to be the correct application of knowledge; it is therefore a wise thing to seek knowledge. The wise men from the east demonstrated their wisdom by applying their knowledge of stars to seek after the new-born King Jesus. Wisdom is not determined by the number of academic qualifications gathered but by the products of the quest for knowledge. These wise men saw a unique star, and they sought after, its meaning until it led them to the Bright and Morning Star. For two years, they were resolute in finding the new-born King. The learned rabbis in Israel did not see what the wise men saw, even though it was happening in their own backyard. How amazing! Of course, this is why these men from the east were considered to be wise. Although only God knows what these wise men did with their discovery of the Kings of the Jews, also born to be the King of the world, their wisdom would have been in doubt if they had not heeded the Lord’s instruction that they should not return to King Herod. Their efforts would have been wasted and they would have gone back to their country frustrated and in sorrow, because the wicked King Herod would have slaughtered the Holy Child right before them. Thank God they were not just philosopher and theologians, but also men who heard from God. They were not carried away by the allure of gifts they would have received from the king for their great discovery; rather, they heeded the voice of the Lord. This world would have been a better place if our philosophers and theologians were also prophets.

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

The wisdom of God in the above scripture recommends that we deploy everything we have in the quest for understanding the surest way of getting understanding is through the scriptures. Unfortunately, some foolish people who think they are wise are always undermining the Bible, which is the true source of knowledge and understanding (Psalm 119:104). Beloved, ensure that your knowledge is based on the word of God, and that your understanding of things is influenced by the mind of God as revealed in his word. Merry Christmas!

KEY POINT:

Always seeking after the interest of God’s Kingdom, which Jesus Christ came to establish in this world, makes you wise indeed.

SCRIPTURE": For unto us a child is born,"unto us a son is given": and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,"Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9":6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Jesus is the Maker,"the Changer and Re-writer of history.

The most powerful and mysterious event in the history of mankind was the birth of Jesus Christ. The Christmas season is a time set aside by Christians to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is, therefore, important to know that there is a power surrounding the birth of Christ.
Now, what is the power of Christmas?

1. The Power of Unnatural Conception
The conception of Jesus took place without the biological process of conception. It was the demonstration of the supremacy of Divinity.
This implies that every time you are at a junction of your life and a natural law is trying to clash with a spiritual law, the natural must give way for the spiritual. The physical must give way for the Divine.

2. The Power that Changed History
The birth of Christ became the demarcation point of history. Every event before the birth of Christ is termed, “BC”, that is, before Christ. And every subsequent event, that is, event after the birth of Christ is termed": “AD”,"that is, Anno Domini, Latin for, In the Year of our Lord. Thus Jesus Christ became the central part of history. If Jesus Christ is removed from history, the arrangement of history will scatter. Jesus is the Maker, the Changer and the Re-writer of history.
Beloved, if Jesus is the Lord of your life, He has the capacity to re-write the history of your life and give you a desired future.

REMEMBER THIS": Jesus is the Maker,"the Changer and the Re-writer of history.
ASSIGNMENTS":

1. Appreciate God for the benefits of redemption and the power of Christmas.

2. Ask God on this day to change and re-write the history of your life if you do not like the direction your life is headed.

TOPIC: CONQUEROR OR VICTIM MENTALITY?

BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 26:16-33

When it comes to handing hurt and offenses and bouncing back, there are two groups of people in the world: people who treat the hurt with a victim mentality, and people who treat it with a conqueror’s mentality. A man with a victim mentality will do his best to get even and pay the other person back in his own coin. He doesn’t believe in forgiving and forgetting. On the other hand, the man who has a conqueror’s mentality has conquered all hurt and offenses. He is bigger than every hurt and offense that may come his way. The hurtful things that people do will never have a negative effect on you IF YOU REFUSE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THOSE THINGS! Refuse to be a victim!

JOSEPH refused to marry the baggage of hurt, resentment and bitterness that his brothers were trying to impose on him. ISAAC refused to carry the baggage of resentment, jealousy and injustice that the Philistines were trying to pass on to him. Every time he dug a well, they would come and steal the well from him. Instead of fighting back, he would give them the well and dig another one. DAVID refused to carry the baggage of hurt, failure, bitterness and jealousy that Saul was trying to pour on him. HE REFUSED TO BE A VICTIM! He refused to be hurt! On this Christmas day and as 2018 ends, you must be the next DAVID! Hear the words of C.R. Strahan,

“Forgiveness has nothing to do with absolving a criminal of his crime! It has everything to do with relieving oneself of the burden of being a victim letting go of the pain and transforming oneself from victim to survivor.” When you choose to live in forgiveness, you set yourself above every evil arrow of hurt, bitterness and resentment that the enemy shoots in your direction, you become unstoppable and you become a SURVIVOR! I just heard that you are entering a new phase as 2019 begins AND YOU ARE MOVING FROM STORY TO GLORY! Amen and amen! Merry Christmas from and and the ODM crew!

THE YOKE OF DISCIPLESHIP
Read: Matthew 11:25-30

MEMORISE: Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:29-30).

EXPOSITION

Jesus invites all burdened individuals to come to Him for rest, yet so often we misunderstand what He is offering. When stress and problems weigh us down, the most natural response is to ask God for relief: “Lord, I cannot carry this anymore. I am going to leave it here with You.” Having dumped the burden like bag of garbage, we walk away but remain unchanged inside.

God does not operate that way. Christ’s invitation is to join Him in the yoke so you can walk and work together. He does not want just your burden; He wants you. The yoke of Christ is a symbol of discipleship, characterised by submission and obedience to Him. God’s goal is not simply to give relief by removing a weighty trial or affliction; He longs to draw you to Himself in close and trusting relationship. Those who take His offer, will turn from their old ways and be transformed.

The process of lightening the load begins with learning to know and understand the Lord, and accept His will alone. The burden is not necessarily removed, but our thoughts and responses are changed as we begin to love Him, trust Him, believe His promises, and rely on His power. Then, as the weight of affliction shifts from our shoulders to His, we will discover relief, although the situation may remain unchanged.
Dear reader, remember that being yoked with Christ results in rest for your soul. Life’s pressures may not lessen, but if you are intimately linked with Jesus, your soul is free from anxiety, and His peace is ruling in your heart. You have nothing to lose except your weariness, but much to gain-everlasting peace.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Let Your peace rule my heart always, O Lord.

2. O Lord, let all Your children who are being afflicted by the devil be totally and permanently delivered, in Jesus’ name.

3. Lord, help me to remain under Your canopy all days of my life.
