WEDNESDAY, 28TH NOVEMBER.

CONTINUE IN HIS LOVE.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love (John 15:9).

Before His ascension, Jesus said to His disciples, “…continue ye in my love,” as seen in our opening verse. The love of Christ is real; it’s beyond anything in this world. Ephesians 3:17-19 TLB says, “And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.”

Therefore, for us, carrying out the work of the ministry, doing the work of the Lord, is as a result of the compelling force of His love. That way, our service to Him in the ministry of the Gospel isn’t really a job, even though in a sense it’s a job; rather, in reality, it is walking in fellowship with Him, and living in His love. In addition, because you’re living in His love, you’re ever renewed and ever refreshed; your vision is ever expanding, and your life forever moves forward.

In Him, you’re on a journey of ever-increasing glory; you never have to think about staying strong, finishing strong, or hoping that you’ll fulfil your divine destiny; no. Rather, you’re just so fulfilled and thrilled that you’re in Him, and He’s in you; He’s your glory, your success, and your vitality! And all you care about is to know Him more, please Him, and love Him more! Every day becomes another beautiful opportunity to relish His love, enjoy His blessedness, and bask in His glory, with more love in your heart for Him. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Loving Father, I’m forever grateful for your love in my spirit that causes my work in the Gospel to be seamless, fulfilling, fruitful and exciting. I’m compelled and motivated by your love to reach out to sinners and turn them from sin unto righteousness, translating them from the kingdom of darkness into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I affirm that I am filled with the knowledge of God’s Word in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Nothing is a mystery to me, because as I meditate on the Word, the Holy Spirit unveils spiritual realities to me, enlightening the eyes of my understanding to know and apprehend my inheritance in Christ! I live triumphantly because I live by the knowledge of God’s Word.

I’ve been granted all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called me unto glory and virtue. I am filled with the fullness of the Father; therefore, I bring forth from the fullness in my spirit, I bring forth divine verities to bless my world and the regions beyond. I am highly connected; therefore, I can never run dry! Christ is my source, I am sufficient in His sufficiency; there’s no shortage in my life, but completeness.

All things are working together for my good because I love the Lord. Hallelujah! Irrespective of how bad things get, I am a victor in Christ Jesus, because I am in league—in partnership—with the Monarch of the universe. Anywhere I go in the world, the Father knows, He cares, He is concerned, and He is mindful of me to do me good. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

THEME: WHEN YOU NEED HELP

Memorize:
And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD hard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labor, and our oppression: Deuteronomy 26:7

6 And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:
7 And when we cried unto the Lord God of our fathers, the Lord heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:
8 And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:
9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.

Message:-
Without question, every man or woman born into this world needs help at one point or the other. Knowing what to do when the need for help arises is a factor that differentiates victors from defeated people.

A fellow ends up being defeated and frustrated simply because he or she could not access the help needed to overcome the challenges of life at the appropriate time. I pray that help will come to you speedily this season in Jesus’ Name.

Another factor that causes defeat is that some people don’t even know when they need help. This is a serious situation. They move in circles on the same spot, thinking that they are making progress. You need to continually examine whether you need help so that you don’t end up wasting precious time struggling alone.

The great work the Lord committed into my hands as the General Overseer, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has taught me this vital lesson. When I became the General Overseer, I suddenly realized that I could not do the work by my strength and resources alone.

So, the first thing I did was to make the original Owner of the work, the Holy Trinity, my Senior Partner and Ally. The next thing I did was to raise ministry helpers so that the work could be done as quickly as possible. If God is ministering to you to be a ministry helper, don’t hesitate to obey Him.

Another thing you need to do when you suddenly realize that you need help is to know where the help will come from. In today’s Bible reading, while under affliction and oppression, the Israelite's correctly identified the LORD God of their fathers as the sure source of their help.

After you have identified the unfailing source of help, the next thing you must do to secure your needed help is to connect yourself to that source and abide by the principles of that source. For example, if you have identified God as your surest Source of help,
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 should be your guiding principle.

You should not allow anything to derail you - not even the world with its technological advancements and ‘modern’ way of doing things, because many civilizations have come and gone, but God and His principles remain unchanged Hebrews 13:8. In John 15:4, Jesus Christ told His disciples:

”Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”

Moreover, you must look up to God in prayer for the fulfillment of promises, like Daniel did in Daniel 9:1-3. When you do this, you can be sure that the testimony in Psalm 34:5 will become a reality in your life. It says:

“They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed”

Action Point:
Go to God in prayer, asking for His help in whatever area you need help. Do not hesitate to reach out to those God ministers to your heart as channels of help to meet your needs.

SCRIPTURE": And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,"to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8":28

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your prosperity is tied to your functioning according to purpose.

From our anchor Scripture,"it is confirmed that everyone born into this world was born for a purpose.

God has a definite intention for every creation. For instance, the pig is a specialist in eating rotten food. It has been discovered that the pig was created for that purpose; it was created as a scavenger animal to clean up the surface of the earth of decaying substances. For this purpose, there is a unique enzyme in the body of pigs, cadaverine coined from cadaver (dead body). This enzyme assists pigs in destroying dead tissues thus facilitating the cleaning of the earth surface.

If a pig has an assignment on earth, no one should doubt the fact that he/she has a purpose ordained by God on the earth.

Now, Romans 8:28 says,"all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. That is, if you function according to God’s purpose for your life, things must work. So, it is important to note that your prosperity is tied to your functioning according to purpose. Anyone on Divine assignment must have fulfilment in life. When you function contrary to the reason you were created, things will be difficult.

Beloved, discovering and fulfilling your purpose is crucial for your fulfilment in life.

Remember this: Your prosperity is tied to your functioning according to purpose.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Ask God to reveal the purpose of your existence to you.
2. Determine to walk on the path of purpose; refuse to be distracted.

TOPIC: JUST LET IT GO!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: LUKE 17:1-10

On July 1st, 2013, a man walked up to the front of the house of Kai Leigh Harriott, and fired three rounds of shots into the house. One of those bullets hit her as she was seated on the floor in the house with her older sister.

The bullet shattered her spine and permanently paralysed her from the chest down. SHE WAS JUST TWO YEARS OLD! Three years later in a courtroom, she was asked if she had anything to say to the man that had shot her and paralysed her for life. The girl look straight at the man who fired the bullet and told him, “What you did to me was wrong, but I still forgive you.” Those words were heavy and no one expected it! Everyone in the courtroom fought hard to hold back tears. She refused to be a victim! She refused to sell her future to the hurt of the past.

Hurt and bitterness are terrible baggages you cannot afford to carry into your future. They will weigh you down and derail you. Let them go! If someone has offended you, let it go! If someone spoke something terrible or nasty to you or about you, LET IT GO! If a trusted friend disappointed you, when you least expected it, LET IT GO! Today’s scripture, Vs 3 is loaded: “Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.” Did you get that? As 2018 ends, you need to understand this: Your future and greatness in life is not tied to how people treat you today. IT IS TIED TO HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE! Don’t seek REVENGE because THERE IS ALREADY a “WOE” (a curse) on those who deliberately fight you (See Verse 1 of today’s scripture NOW)!

Wow! So, regardless of how people treat you or don’t treat you, carry yourself like an overcomer! BE QUICK TO FORGIVE AND LET THE HURT GO EVEN WHEN IT DOES NOT LOOK THAT QUICK AND EASY! Oh, the Holy Ghost has been emphasizing FORGIVENESS in this last quarter of this devotional – there must be a reason why; the LORD wants your testimony to be UNSTOPPABLE! Let the hurt of the past go and move forward into the glorious future that God has for you! Amen!

TOPIC: JUST A FEW

Read: Judges 7:1-7

MEMORISE:
And the LORD said to Gideon, "The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me'’’ (Judges 7:2).

EXPOSITION

There is no general formula for solution to life’s problems, just as mathematical problems have varying approaches to solving them. God, who put this in man to invent, is a dynamic God. He foresees the future at the tip of His fingers. He knows and searches man’s heart to know his intents. The Israelites’ army led by Gideon were to go in a battle with the Midianites. About 33,000 volunteers were enlisted. “That’s quite encouraging,” you would say.

Surprisingly, God instructed Gideon to announce early departures of those who wished to retreat, and 10,000 men pulled out for fear of the unknown. This shows that these were unready. They did not count the cost! They joined the multitude, without having the battles spirit! Even with 22,000, God was uncomfortable. God’s battles are already won. However, He has graciously chosen that men would represent Him in executing the victory provisionally settled. God needs men and women for the actualization of the end-time revival, yet He scrutinizes them to determine vessels suitable for the final team.

Even when His first choice team fumbles and fails, God possesses, in His arsenal, reliable and better substitutes. With just 300 unarmed men. God put thousands of Midianites in disarray and a very heavy defeat! Were they (the chosen 300) the ones who orchestrated the victory? No! God did. The 300 should be grateful that God used them in His programme. Imagine the divine specification for SELECTION!

Dear devout, will you willingly make yourself, material, wealth and others available to God at these end times? Remember, He needs many, yet He selects just a few, but be sure you are numbered among the few, Holy Spirit helping you.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, count me worthy among the few chosen.

2. Lord, help me to represent (stand for) Your purpose and programme even when they don’t seem popular.

3. Pray that God should help our children to stop following the multitude to sin.
