Everton coach, Carlo Ancelotti indicted in Spain on suspicion of avoiding €1M in taxes during his time as Real Madrid manager
Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti has been indicted in Spain on suspicion of avoiding €1million (£903,000) in taxes.
The charge relates to tax due for image rights earnings during his time as Real Madrid boss in 2014-15.
In a statement, the Madrid Community Prosecutor's office said the 61-year-old Italian manager concealed revenues "intending to avoid his tax duties towards the public treasury with no justification".
The Toffees boss is not the first big name in football to be indicted for similar charges, Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa, and Jose Mourinho have all recently been sued in tax cases.
They all avoided jail time by agreeing to pay fines. This could also be the faith of Ancelotti if found guilty.

Outrage As 'white Lives Matter' Plane Flies Over Man City Vs Burnley Match
A plane carrying a "White Lives Matter" banner was seen above the Etihad during Burnley's clash with Manchester City, sparking outrage amid ongoing protests and demonstrations against racial inequality.
All Premier League players have worn "Black Lives Matter" across the back of their shirts since the return to play, with the tribute following protests that began in the U.S. following the death of George Floyd.
Those protests have sparked demonstrations all over the world, with Weston McKennie, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Thuram among those to make displays in the Bundesliga, with Marcelo headlining those in La Liga.
Shortly following the start of Tuesday's match between second-place Manchester City and 11th-place Burnley, a plane was spotted overhead carrying a banner that read "White Lives Matter Burnley".
The display came just a few minutes into the match, moments after the players on the pitch finished kneeling, and circled overhead for the first moments of the match.
There has been no confirmation who paid for the banner to be displayed, but reaction on social media saw the message immediately condemned;
Indeed, Burnley released an official statement at half-time, which reads:
"Burnley Football Club strongly condemns the actions of those responsible for the aircraft and offensive banner that flew over The Etihad Stadium on Monday evening.
"We wish to make it clear that those responsible are not welcome at Turf Moor.
"This, in no way, represents what Burnley Football Club stands for and we will work fully with the authorities to identify those responsible and issue lifetime bans.
"The club has a proud record of working with all genders, religions and faiths through its award-winning Community scheme, and stands against racism of any kind.
"We are fully behind the Premier League’s Black Lives Matter initiative and, in line with all other Premier League games undertaken since Project Restart, our players and football staff willingly took the knee at kick-off at Manchester City.
"We apologise unreservedly to the Premier League, to Manchester City and to all those helping to promote Black Lives Matter."

Quote:David Luis, Pablo Mari And Cedric Soares Sign New Arsenal Deals
David Luiz agrees shock new contract to remain at Arsenal for another YEAR - as team-mate Cedric Soares pens FOUR-year deal and Pablo Mari joins in a £14m permanent transfer.
Arsenal have activated option of a further 12 months on David Luiz's contract
The Brazilian defender's existing deal was due to expire on June 30
Clubs had until midnight on Tuesday to finalise short-term extensions
Cedric Soares has made his Southampton deal permanent with four-year deal
Injured defender has also joined on a permanent deal from Flamengo.
David Luiz has agreed a shock new one-year contract with Arsenal.
Team-mate Cedric Soares has also agreed a four year contract after making his loan from Southampton permanent.
Brazilian centre-back Luiz drew heavy criticism for his error strewn cameo performance against Manchester City last week which saw him sent off after 26 minutes and left his side careering to a 3-0 defeat.
Luiz apologised but many critics believed the display would signal the end of his Arsenal career with his deal, worth around £120,000 a week, due to expire on June 30.
Clubs had until Tuesday night to finalise short-term extensions to run to the end of this season. However, Arsenal decided to finalise a longer deal for Luiz to keep him until 2021.
Mikel Arteta has stood by the erratic 33-year-old and right-back Soares, who joined on loan in January but has yet to make an appearance. 28-year old Cedric Soares has been hindered by knee ligament and facial injuries but Arteta has been impressed by the attitude of both players in training and believes they can make more telling contributions to his first team plans going forward.
Defender Pablo Mari, who is out for up to four months with ankle ligament damage, has also joined on a permanent deal from Flamengo.
As Sportsmail reported at the weekend, the fee for the 26-year old Spaniard is around £14m.
Meanwhile, Arteta is open to offloading Matteo Guendouzi as his frustration mounts over the midfielder’s antics. The manager caught his French midfielder on camera acting up during training.
Guendouzi clashed with Neal Maupay after Arsenal’s defeat at Brighton on Saturday when the Albion striker accused his countryman of lacking humility for things he said during the game.
Sportsmail revealed that Guendouzi taunted Maupay about how much he and Arsenal’s players earned compared to Brighton’s.
The incident is the latest that has led to questions about Guendouzi’s attitude, a situation that Arteta, who is trying to change the culture at Arsenal, has been left unimpressed by.
Sportsmail understands Arteta had the Frenchman’s card marked from early in his reign when he saw Guendouzi acting up while re-watching training footage. While Arteta’s back was turned, a distracted Guendouzi could be seen messing about, sometimes doing ‘silly dances’ at a time when the manager wanted full focus from his players.
Guendouzi started just two of Arteta’s first 10 league games. Some team-mates have also taken a dim view of some of his antics.
Meanwhile, striker Gabriel Martinelli is facing ‘months’ out after suffering a knee cartilage injury in training on Sunday.
In a more positive injury update, goalkeeper Bernd Leno escaped serious cruciate ligament damage when he clashed with Maupay, suffering a sprain in his right knee which will keep him out for four to six weeks.

Tottenham vs West Ham: Mourinho speaks on qualifying for Champions League after 2-0 win
June 24, 2020
Tottenham Hotspurs manager, Jose Mourinho, has said his side’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League has been boosted by a 2-0 win over West Ham on Tuesday.
The Hammers held their hosts for over an hour, before Tomas Soucek’s own goal broke the deadlock.
Harry Kane then netted his first of 2020 to seal Spurs’ first win in eight matches in all competitions.
Mourinho’s men have now moved into seventh position with 45 points, one behind Manchester United in fifth spot.
“First of all three points were not important, they were crucial,” Mourinho told reporters.
“I said to the players ‘don’t think if we don’t win this match we can still think about chances’, it was three points or nothing.
“We were too slow and predictable in the first half but we were stronger and more intense in the second half.”

Chelsea vs Man City: How Liverpool could be crowned champions Thursday
June 25, 2020
Liverpool’s 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, leaves them on the verge of winning their first Premier League title in 30 years.
Jurgen Klopp’s men once again showed they are the best side this season, sweeping away Roy Hodgson’s men in emphatic style.
Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring at an empty Anfield with a classy free-kick, before fit-again Mohammed Salah doubled the lead before half time.
Fabinho and Sadio Mane added two more goals after the break, as Liverpool took their points total to 86 points from 31 fixtures.
Second-placed Manchester City have 63 points from 30 games played.
This means the Reds are just two points away from clinching the title.
That could actually happen at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening, when Chelsea host City.
If Pep Guardiola’s men win, then the champagne stays on ice a little longer.
However, if the champions draw or lose, then the points gap will be too big and Liverpool will champions.
Jurgen Klopp might prefer to win it on City’s ground, as they travel to The Etihad in their next game.

Man United’s Martial nets hattrick
June 24, 2020

Anthony Martial hattrick

Anthony Martial has become the latest Manchester United player to score a hattrick.
His goals gave Manchester United a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on Wednesday.
Robin Van Persie was the last man to net three times in a league game for the Red Devils.
Dutchman’s stunning treble against Aston Villa on April 22 in 2013 sealed 13th and final Premier League title of Sir Alex Ferguson era.
It was in final stages of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at Old Trafford when they beat Aston Villa 3-0 at home.
Martial broke the deadlock when he collected a pass from Rashford and chipped it over Sheffield United goalkeeper to extend the lead and keep man united in the race of champions league qualification.
Rashford assisted in the first and third goal while Wan-Bissaka assisted with the second goal.
This is an inspiration that United as long urge for to lit up Old Trafford.
Odion Ighalo was also denied by Sheffield goalkeeper.

Moses eyes permanent stay at Inter
June 25, 2020

Victor Moses has made it clear that he wants to stay at Inter for the long haul, ‘to win with Antonio Conte, this fantastic club and these incredible fans’.
Speaking to Inter’s Matchday Programme for their Serie A game against Sassuolo last night, Moses revealed how football was his ‘reason for living’.
“I love football, it’s been my passion since I was a child,” he explained. “It’s in my blood and what I love doing. The turning point of my career came when I made my debut with Crystal Palace when I was 16. I entered the pitch and the atmosphere was incredible. It made me think that football was my reason for living, something where I could give everything with 100 percent commitment.”
The wingback’s loan move to the Nerazzurri in January saw him link up with Antonio Conte, his coach at Chelsea.
“He’s a great man and coach, I know his methods well. He wants the best from his players and that’s the main reason I’m here because I’ve worked with him and I know what he wants: he just wants us to go out there, work hard and have fun while putting our idea of football into practice.”

EPL: Guardiola reveals why Man City lost title to Liverpool
June 26, 2020
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted his side failed to match Liverpool’s desperation to win the Premier League title this season.
City’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Thursday, confirmed Liverpool as champions for the 2019/2020 season.
It effectively ended Guardiola’s quest to win the league for a third consecutive year.
Although, Kevin De Bruyne cancelled out Christian Pulisic’s solo effort, Fernandinho handled in the area and Willian dispatched a cool free-kick to win the match for Chelsea.
“Maybe we didn’t arrive with the same passion; Liverpool played every single game like it was the last chance they have.
“And maybe we didn’t get that moment, especially the key moments in the first part of the season.
“That is the reality, that we are so far behind. Liverpool were fantastic in consistency throughout the whole season.
“We dropped points at the beginning of the season, and Liverpool didn’t drop points.
“We’ll have to recover for next season, to be more consistent, and recover the points we missed this season,” Guardiola told reporters after the game.
City are away to Newcastle in the FA Cup on Sunday, before hosting champions Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, July 2.

'I felt so empty inside' - Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp finally reacts to EPL title win
Liverpool head coach, Jurgen Klopp, has finally reacted to the club's English Premier league win, stating he has had a mix of emotions since he led the club to achieve it's first premier league title in 30 years.
Liverpool became the premier league champions after Chelsea beat Manchester city 2-1 on Thursday night.
Manchester city needed to win Chelsea to have a chance of defending their title against Liverpool next week but faltered after Chelsea's two goals.
It took Liverpool 28 wins and 86 points after an incredible season where they have lost only once to win the title .
Klopp has now spoken about the nostalgic effect the success has had on him, one year after winning the UEFA Champions League.
"I am completely overwhelmed; I don’t know, it’s a mix of everything – I am relieved, I am happy, I am proud, I couldn’t be more proud of the boys," Klopp told Liverpool's official website.
"How we watched the game together, we knew it could happen, it couldn’t not happen, we didn’t know. We want to play football and we are really happy that we are allowed to play again – then when it happened in that moment, it was a pure explosion.
"When we counted down the last five seconds of the game, the ref counted down a little bit longer than us so we had to look at two or three more passes!
"Then it was pure...I cannot describe it. It was a really, really nice moment. Directly after it, I felt so empty inside – I cannot believe it, I am really not happy with myself in the moment that I feel like I feel, but it’s just a little bit too much in the moment. I will be fine, nobody has to worry.
"I actually couldn’t be happier; I couldn’t have dreamed of something like that and I never did before last year, honestly. We were not close enough three years ago, a year ago we were really close…what the boys have done in the last two-and-a-half years, the consistency they show is absolutely incredible and second to none.
"Honestly, I have no idea how we do that all the time. Last night, a very good example – we played a game like the stadium is fully packed and everybody is shouting ‘Liverpool’ or whatever constantly.
"It is a wonderful moment, that’s what I can say.

Quote:Thousands Of Liverpool Fans Defy Social Distancing To Celebrate Their Victory
Merseyside Police sealed off roads near Anfield stadium last night as they tried to disperse thousands of Liverpool fans who gathered outside the ground to celebrate their team ending its 30-year wait to win the Premier League title.
The Reds, who had to endure a three-month wait for glory amid the coronavirus pandemic, were crowned champions on Thursday after Manchester City failed to beat Chelsea.
However, within an hour of the result, thousands of fans flocked to Anfield to let off flares, chant and celebrate the title win, while ignoring social distancing measures.
Some 5,000 fans managed to surround the stadium before police sealed off roads leading to it, though they made no move to break up the party.
A handful of police vans and uniformed officers waited near the ground - though the celebrations were peaceful despite a lack of social distancing. A police helicopter was also seen circling the ground.
Manchester City's defeat gave Liverpool a first title win since 1990, ending 30 years of hurt and near-misses after multiple second place finishes.
Despite social distancing measures being in place across the city, fans still flocked to Anfield by foot and car to mark their side's moment of glory.
The roads were clogged outside the ground and some fans even climbed up the steps of the main stand. Reds supporters honked their horns and fireworks were set off as Chelsea's victory over Manchester City was confirmed, with hundreds of fans partying outside the main stand.
Despite some wearing masks, the majority ignored social distancing rules as they waved flags and scarves and embraced while marking their Premier League triumph.
One fan was cheered as he walked with a can of beer and a Jurgen Klopp mask, some were in tears and others carried children as young as four on their shoulders.

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun signs permanent deal with Wigan
Nigerian defender, Leon Balogun, has completed a move to Wigan Athletic following his successful loan spell at the club.
Balogun, 31, has impressed at Wigan since his loan move in January, helping the Latics achieve four clean sheets in six Championship matches and move away from the relegation zone.
Balogun joined Albion in the summer of 2018, making 12 appearances in total. He scored one goal for the club, a volley with his first touch in a 3-1 win against Crystal Palace.
Balogun who found it hard making first-team opportunities at Brighton and Hove Albion this season, making just one appearance in the EFL Cup victory at Bristol Rovers, has now agreed a permanent deal with Wigan.
Albion boss Graham Potter said, “Leon has always been extremely professional and good to work with during my time at the club, but he was finding it hard to get the game time he would have liked.
“So the loan move to Wigan seemed to be a good move for everyone involved, and he has made a really positive impact there.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution over the last couple of years and we wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
