Morning Devotional For Thursday 30th August
#1
Heart
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 30TH AUGUST.

PURCHASED BY BLOOD.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 9:12).

The word “redemption” as used in our opening scripture is from the Greek, “lutrosis,” which means to ransom, deliver, save, or bring out of trouble. The Lord Jesus redeemed man from sin at the cross, and His blood became the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. Then He was buried, and on the third day, God raised Him from the dead with a new life, the resurrection life.

This same resurrection life is what everyone who believes in Him has received.
Thus, being born again, you’re not the “redeemed”; you’re the fruit of Christ’s redemptive work; you have the resurrection life. Some people get confused when they study portions of the Scriptures where the new creation is described as “redeemed.”

For instance, in Revelation 5:9, the Bible says, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.” The word “redeemed” here is wrongly translated; it’s from the Greek, “agorazo,” which means to make a purchase; to buy something as a gift to give to someone. It’s not a buyback, as is the case with “lutrosis”; it’s a fresh purchase. Christ purchased us with His blood, and gave us as gifts to God.

Several translations actually give a proper rendering of that verse. The New International Version says, “with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.” The Living Bible says, “…for you were slain, and your blood has bought people from every nation as gifts for God.” You’re a gift, purchased for God by Jesus; He bought you with a price—His blood!

Now, you belong to God. You’re not the person that was “delivered” from the devil when Jesus died on the cross; you’re a new creation, born superior to Satan, the world and its failing systems, and elements. You’re an associate of the God-kind: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:4).

PRAYER
Gracious Father, I thank you for the precious blood of Jesus by which I’ve been cleansed from all unrighteousness. I’m a new creation; an associate of the God-kind, grateful for the life of righteousness which I have in Christ. I rejoice over your power and glory working in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Hebrews 4:14 - 16 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

30TH AUGUST.

I affirm that I am attuned to the voice of the Spirit; His voice guides and directs me in all affairs of life. I am conditioned rightly to know His perfect will and walk therein! My steps are ordered of the Lord because His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

I am a thousand times ahead! I am far ahead of any competitor or distractor. The Word of God has infused into me the consciousness of victory, success, and glory. I am a success, I operate from the standpoint of advantage. I am so rich; vibrant, strong and energetic.

The life of Christ in me has made me more than a man; I’m a superman! God is the One at work in me, both to will and to do of His good pleasure. His power in me is activated to bring forth blessings and miracles today. My life is as a well-watered garden, and I bring forth fruits, in and out of season, because I live by the Word.

There’s no uncertainty, confusion, or darkness in my life; for the true light shines in my heart. Hallelujah! I am the planting of the Lord, I am planted on the rock that’s higher than I am, Christ Jesus! Therefore, I am not moved by circumstances. I am a victor forever because Christ is my riddance. He rids me of any trouble and leads me triumphantly from glory to glory. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: THURSDAY 30TH AUGUST 2018

THEME: RAISE THAT WEAK PERSON.

MEMORISE:

Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Isaiah 35:3

READ: Matthew 25:34-46

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

MESSAGE

Weakness can be such a terrible thing. A person who is weak is helpless and even sometimes hopeless. People can be weak in several ways; some are weak financially, emotionally, spiritually, academically and so on. People who are weak are not in a state where they can protect or defend themselves. This is why anyone who oppresses the weak is a coward and a bully. As a disciple of Jesus Christ ho himself was a help to the helpless, if a person is financially weak, you should not use that opportunity to cheat him or her. It is disheartening that some employers look for desperate people to employ so that they can pay them far less than the regular applicable wages. Some other people constantly search for people in financial crises so that they can buy off their properties very cheaply. Are you playing with the emotions of the opposite sex because they are emotionally weak? Do you condemn people because they are not as strong as you are spiritually? You need to have a change of heart today.

Believe me honestly, there is no seed sown that will not be reaped. There was a man who was very good at treating people who had broken bones. Whenever someone with a broken bone was rushed to him, because of their desperation, he would charge their family members an extremely high price that would be very difficult to pay. If they complained about the cost, he would get a cutlass and suggest that if they couldn’t afford his charges, he could amputate the victim’s broken limb at a cheaper price. Not desiring the amputation of a member of their family, they would agree to his exorbitant price and pay. Through these means, this man eventually became very rich and had many houses. Down the line, he fell sick and had to spend so much money diagnosing the cause of his ailment. Before long, he started selling his houses in order to afford his medical bills, but the doctors could still not tell what was wrong with him. After he sold his last house, it was discovered that he had cancer, but by this time, it was already too late for him. He died a poor man. Beloved, don’t be deceived into thinking that you can get away with wicked acts. Whatever a man sows, he shall reap (Galatians 6:7).

No real Christian should ever turn his back on someone who needs help. That is not the nature of our Father. Our Lord Jesus Christ went about doing good, and He was always full of compassion (Acts 10:38). When He met a widow on her way to bury her son, without being asked, he wiped away her tears (Luke 7:12-15). If you claim to be Christ-like, you must also be full of compassion for the weak around you. As seen in our Bible text, helping the weak is synonymous with helping God, because He feels their pains. So ask yourself: are you helping to reduce Jesus’ pain, or are you ignoring Him?

ACTION POINT:

Make a list of weak people around you and reach out to them today.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 88-91

Matthew 27:15-44

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 15: NEARER MY GOD TO THEE.

Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness comes over me, my rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

There let me see the sight, an open Heaven;
All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;
Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;
So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR. PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE

THURSDAY 30TH AUGUST, 2018

TOPIC: DEALING WITH THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE AND ARROGANCE

SCRIPTURE: Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Pride makes a man’s life to revolve around himself and to revolve around yourself is to be caged in a shelf.

Previously, we saw that pride makes a person to become a god to himself. Pride also makes a man’s life to revolve around himself and to revolve around yourself is to be caged in a shelf.

Therefore, a proud fellow cannot become anything remarkable in God’s Hands.

Now, how do you deal with pride?
i) Resist Pride vehemently
Pride is a spirit called a haughty spirit (Proverbs 16:18). Resist the lifestyle of pride. Command and curse the haughty spirit by saying, ‘You foul spirit of pride, you have no place in my life; you have no place in my lineage, get out haughty spirit!’ (Luke 10:19).

ii) Present yourself continuously before God
Present yourself to God permanently at the altar of consecration. Tell God, ‘I am nothing; there is nothing I am that You are not the reason. I recognise You, Lord, as the reason for my success in life.’ Present yourself to God continuously in submission and worship (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 4:7).

iii) Always remember where you are coming from
Remembering where you are coming from is building a memorial altar of appreciation before God. The memorial altar is where you remember where you used to be and where you are currently. Always remember that you are nothing if not for God. You did not do anything differently or better than the people who are not yet at your level (1 Corinthians 15:9-10).

Beloved, decide to deal with the lifestyle of pride in order to fulfil destiny.

Remember this: Pride makes a man’s life to revolve around himself and to revolve around yourself is to be caged in a shelf.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1) Resist Pride vehemently
2) Present yourself continuously before God
3) Always remember where you are coming from

PRAYER: O Lord, I receive Your grace to resist the lifestyle of pride and arrogance. I receive Your Help to present myself continuously on the altars of consecration and memorial, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: DEADLY ENEMIES OF DESTINY (PART 5).

DAILY BIBLE READING: Job 34:1 to 36:33, 2 Corinthians 4:1 to 12, Psalm 44:1 to 8, Proverbs 22:10 to 12

AMAZING FACT: Twelve honey bees have to spend their whole lives to make only a teaspoon of honey.

TODAY IN HISTORY: 30/08/1806 - New York City's second daily newspaper, the "Daily Advertiser," was published for the last time.

QUOTE: Pride is satan manifested and there is nothing God hates like satan manifested. God had cast him from heaven as a result of pride. Culled from WHO ARE YOU? by Dr Paul Enenche.
