RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 16TH AUGUST.

THE REAL YOU.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Just as God is a Spirit, man is also a spirit, and was made in the image and in the likeness of God. Thus, your body isn’t you; it’s your house, the home of your spirit. Your physical eyes can’t see by themselves; they’re windows through which your spirit sees the world around you.

Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” If your body were the real you, how then would you be able to present it to God? Who would do the “presenting,” seeing that your body is what YOU are to present? This lets you know there’s more to you than your physical body; you’re a spirit being.

The real you is who Peter calls the “...hidden man of the heart” (1 Peter 3:4). He’s the same one the Apostle Paul calls the “inward man” (2 Corinthians 4:16). The inward man is the human spirit; the one who can’t be seen with the physical eyes. The “outward man” is the body with its five senses. The real “you” is the inward man, not the outward man. When you speak, it’s the inward man that talks through your mouth.

Too many are only concerned about what’s going on in their bodies, not giving the required attention to developing and educating their spirits. The man inside, your spirit, is the one that God deals with and relates to, not the physical body. The Lord relates with your spirit in leading and guiding you; He contacts you through your spirit. Walk in this consciousness, and live beyond physical circumstances.

Your spirit is where the life of God resides. When you received the Holy Spirit, He mingled with your spirit and became one with your spirit, in an inseparable union (1 Corinthians 6:17). Now you can better understand why your spirit is what really matters to God. It’s important to learn how to function from your spirit, and the way to do this is to keep your focus on the Word of God, and live from inside out, refusing to be moved by the dictates of your physical senses.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your light in my spirit; I live from inside out, fully conscious of your life and glory in me. I refuse to be moved by the dictates of my physical senses, but keep my focus on your eternal Word by which I’m transformed from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

16TH AUGUST.

I affirm that I am full of the wisdom of God, for Christ is made unto me wisdom! That Wisdom is in my heart and in my mouth today! I function in it; I am guided by it, and I am growing in it daily as I continually meditate on the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

The knowledge of God’s Word in my spirit puts me over and gives me the victory today! Fear, sickness, poverty, and death have no place in me because I live by faith in the Word of God, which is my recipe for total success, victory, prosperity and divine health.

The Word of God, which is the source of my life, is living and active in me today! I experience the transforming power of the Word in my finances, health, family, and in everything that concerns me; my life is upgraded today by the power of God’s Word. Hallelujah! I am inspired by today’s possibilities and tomorrow’s potentials.

Through the Word of God, my mind is renewed and my spirit is enlightened to see my future and see the greatness, success, victory, and prosperity which God has ordained to be my day-to-day experience in Christ! Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

THEME: PAINS WITHOUT GAIN

Memorise:
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10

Read: Nehemiah 5:14-19 (KJV)
14 Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.
15 But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants’ bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
16 Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.
17 Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us.
18 Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.
19 Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.

Message:-
God desires that we boldly come before His throne of grace to express ourselves with sincerity of heart and purpose Hebrews 4:16, Job 38:1-3
Apostle Peter is one child of God who was sincere. He did not pretend as though he did not know what he wanted from God. After Jesus discussed the price of being His disciple, Peter boldly and sincerely asked Him what would be the gain of those who paid this high price. Here is Jesus’ response in Matthew 19:28-29:

“…Verily I say unto you, that ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”

The Holy Spirit also corroborates this truth in today’s memory verse. The essence of these promises of reward is to encourage you not to be weary in well doing.

In today’s Bible reading, there is another classic example of someone who would not settle for pains without gain. Nehemiah knew that the God he served was not unrighteous as to not reward him handsomely for his labour and sacrifice in His vineyard. For this reason, he consistently prayed to God to remember him for good. He was not like the older brother of the prodigal son, who served his father without asking for his reward as a faithful son Luke 15:11-31. Let’s take a closer look at Nehemiah’s prayer in Nehemiah’s 5:18-19:

“Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people. Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.”

This prayer reveals this sacrifice Nehemiah consciously made to get the project of rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls done. He boldly stated his case to the One who alone could reward him richly. This is a great lesson for children of God who are labouring day and night in God’s vineyard and have nothing to show for it because they do not ask Him for a reward. James 4:2 says

“You have not, because you ask not.”

I pray that the Almighty God will reward your labour of love as you begin to ask of Him today in Jesus’ Name.

Father, as I labour in Your vineyard, please remember me for good in Jesus’ Name.
