RHAPSODY OF REALITIES


WEDNESDAY, 8TH AUGUST.

BE SUPPLY AND ABUNDANCE CONSCIOUS.

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation] (2 Corinthians 9:8 AMPC).

As a Christian, never utter statements like, “Things are tight. I have to manage. If I give or spend so much, I won’t have anything left.” To have such a mindset is to put yourself in a position of disadvantage and financial jeopardy. Never talk lack, because you’re the seed of Abraham and all things are yours in Christ: “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29).

God wants you to live at that higher level of spiritual consciousness, where your spiritual eyes are open to see that the whole world belongs to you. As you consciously develop yourself in God’s Word, you’ll realise He’s already given you everything that pertain to life and godliness. Lay claim to your possessions by walking in the light of His Word.

Walk in the practical consciousness of what the Word says about your Kingdom rights, privileges, and possessions in Christ Jesus. Declare, “The Lord is my shepherd; therefore, I refuse to lack. Doors of opportunities are open unto me. I’m blessed, and all my needs are abundantly supplied according to God’s riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

The will of God and the certainty of the life of abundance He’s called you into is clearly revealed in our opening verse. He wants all grace—every favour and earthly blessing—to come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, be self-sufficient, possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation.

Believe, affirm, and be conscious that your life in Christ is one of endless supply and abundance. Learn what the Word says about God’s financial plan for His children: about tithes and offerings, sowing and reaping, giving and receiving. Practise them and see God’s blessings multiply in your life.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, you’re my Shepherd; therefore, I can never lack! I’m walking in the light of my prosperity; I have access to wealth untold! Lack and want aren’t part of my life, because all things are mine in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

I affirm that the Word of God is for my progress, blessings, and promotion! My heart is opened to receive God’s Word and live by it today. I walk day after day by the light of God’s Word.

I am not moved by the natural circumstances that exist in the world. God’s Word is the light by which I operate in my job, finances, family, and everything that concerns me. I am aware of God’s bountiful provisions for me, and I am enjoying them because I see by the greater light of His Word. I refuse to be swayed by the many contrary voices in the world; rather, I make a deliberate choice to look away from everything else and focus my gaze on the Word. By this, I continuously function in the realities of the Kingdom. Hallelujah!

I am rooted and grounded in the Word; therefore, grace and peace are multiplied in my life. I have the grace to face challenging situations and still come out victorious! I am powered by the Spirit, and the strength of the Spirit wells up within me each time I am faced with adverse circumstances that challenge my faith! God’s indwelling and abiding presence is my guarantee that, come what may, I will always be a winner. Blessed be God.

TOPIC: THE MAINTENANCE OF QUALITY SPIRITUALITY - ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE

SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until your spiritual life is in order, your natural life is out of order.

Today, we want to look at yet another very important thing in life which is, the maintenance of quality spirituality.

It has been confirmed that the quality of your spirituality determines the quality of your destiny. Until your spiritual life is in order, your natural life is out of order. The real needs of man are spiritual needs, and until spiritual needs are met, physical needs are not met.

Beloved, you have not succeeded in life until you have succeeded with God. For instance, as a medical student, if you have distinction in an elective course like General Studies (GS) but fail your core courses like Human Anatomy and Biochemistry; you have not excelled at all in what will make you a doctor. This is how life is, when your spirituality is neglected, even if you have money, fame, political influence, or have travelled round the world, you have not succeeded; you have only succeeded in putting the first thing last and the last things first. You have not excelled at all if you have not excelled in maintaining quality spirituality. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Majoring in the minor and minoring in the major; that is how most people live their lives. Some people are physically good looking and robust on the outside but ugly and thin in the spirit. This is not correct.

Beloved, my counsel is, develop a quality relationship with God because if your spiritual life is not working, you are in a state of emergency. Life is all about developing quality relationship with your Creator.

Remember this: Until your spiritual life is in order, your natural life is out of order.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Decide to give priority attention to your spirituality
2. Endeavour to succeed with God before you succeed with men and in the things of life.
3. Develop the discipline of consistent prayer life and study of the Word.

PRAYER: O Lord, give me the grace to maintain a quality relationship with You. Help me not to succeed in other things in life at the expense of my quality relationship with You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

THEME: THE GOVERNMENT OF SELF

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons :
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me . And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land ; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country ; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

Message:-
The story of the prodigal son can aptly be summarized as what happens under the government of self. Although man was created to have dominion, he was not created to be governed by self. This truth accounts for the instructions God gave to man in Genesis 2:15-17:

“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

One can safely assume that the purpose of these instructions was to let man know that he is under divine governance. It is unfortunate that the devil sold the idea of self-government to man. This same idea was what led to the devil’s fall from grace, and as a matter of fact, has continued to be the problem of man even today Isaiah 14:12-15.

The Lord is asking you today: are you living under the government of self or planning to detach yourself from the governance of heaven? Please don’t trend this path. None of those who did it before you have ever had a good story to tell.
Psalm 2:1-5 tells us that God is sorely displeased by attempts to rebel against His Lordship.

People tend to see obeying God’s instructions as slavery, just as the prodigal son saw the control of his father as slavery. The prodigal son wanted his “freedom”, and so he decided to break away from his father’s control, not because his father was wicked or because he was suffering or lacked anything. All he wanted was self-rule, and he suffered for it. Every story of self-rule initiated against God’s governance ends in chaos, regret and unbearable suffering. The unfortunate thing is that the government of self is finding its way into the Church.

Today, any church leadership that tends to be built around the governance of God’s Spirit is often maligned, ridicule and condemned.
From the onset, the Church of God was designed to be ruled by the Holy Spirit. He is the Vicar that Jesus Christ sent to us after His ascension into heaven. Whatever we do outside the Holy Spirit is invalid. I have said this several times, and because it is the truth and the truth is constant, I cannot retract this statement.

Years ago, when certain brothers demanded more freedom from the leadership of our church, I told them that any freedom more than what they had already under God would amount to bondage. Those who did not believe me then, who found a way of getting the freedom they desired, understand this truth better now. Beloved, voluntarily put yourself under the governance of God; it pays now and it will also be worth it in the hereafter.

Prayer Point
Father, please forgive me in any way I have sought self rule, and take control of my life from now onward in Jesus’ Name.
