RHAPSODY OF REALITIES 


TUESDAY 14TH JULY.



INVIGORATED BY THE HOLY GHOST


For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:14-16).


In our theme Scripture, the Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, prayed for the Christians in Ephesus to be strengthened with might in their inner man. 


If Paul prayed thus for them, it must mean that he knew what it meant to be strengthened and must have been strengthened himself. Therefore, he wasn’t trying to get God to fulfil a promise or do something that we don’t already have as Christians.


Why then did Paul pray for the saints in Ephesus that way? It was because the people hadn’t come to the full knowledge of the divine might at work in them by reason of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. 


It was more of getting them to be conscious of the divine energy, the supernatural might of the Spirit inherent in them. This “strengthening” wasn’t coming from Heaven; it’s by the Spirit of God that’s already inside them. He wanted them to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit inside them and walk in His might.


There’s a Spirit inside you that invigorates you. That Spirit gives you supernatural power, the ability to perform. Hallelujah! This is why you must never confess or accept that you’re weak. 


There’s no weakness in your life, for the Holy Spirit, the embodiment of all glory, dominion and strength, lives in you in His fullness. No part of your body is available for sickness, disease, infirmity, or to the devil. The Holy Spirit in you keeps your spirit, soul and body invigorated and ever alive.


Romans 8:11 declares, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” This is no longer a promise but a present-hour reality. Glory to God!



CONFESSION

Every fibre of my being is energised and infused with miracle-working ability. I’m strengthened and invigorated by the Holy Spirit in my inner man, thereby competent for any task. I’m conscious of, and function with His divine power that works in me mightily. Hallelujah!

I am a free-flowing conduit of God’s wealth and blessings to others, and I am plugged to an unending supply. 


I rule and reign in this life, independent of the financial systems of this world. I am fulfilling God’s purpose and plan for my life, walking in paths that He’s arranged for me. 


He’s made all things I require for life and godliness available to me, and I celebrate the grace of prosperity and abundance that I enjoy as the seed of Abraham. Hallelujah!


 The works of my hands are blessed and I am set on the path of permanent success and prosperity. 


I do not know when the heat comes, for I am fashioned to flourish like the cedar in Lebanon. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

MESSAGE:

“And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew 8:11-12
The words above were spoken by Jesus when He saw how great the faith of the Centurion was. He attested to the fact that He had never seen such great faith in Israel. This man was considered an unbeliever, yet he had faith that was greater than that of everyone Jesus had met. 

A chronic unbeliever who has an encounter with Christ would likely hold on to Him fervently. On the other hand, the one who has been a Christian for a long while, especially since childhood, has a great tendency to begin to take Jesus for granted. In our Bible reading for today, Jesus dined at a Pharisee’s house, but the man did not even offer to wash His feet, he took such an august visitor for granted because he had known Him for long. Many Christians are fervent in the first few months or years after they encounter Christ, and then begin to relent, this could be because the memory of their salvation experience is beginning to wane or they may have seen other Christians slipping and still looking holy. Beloved, it is very dangerous to forget your salvation encounter with Christ, very dangerous to take examples from people who are not as fervent as you; rather, take examples from those who have gone higher than you in the faith.

Hold on to Jesus for dear life! When He gives you an instruction, obey immediately. Always go early for Church services; if you are a worker in the Church, serve to the best of your ability. Make Him a priority in your life; increase your commitment to His Kingdom rather than reducing it. I pray that you will not be replaced in the kingdom of God in the mighty name of Jesus.

*TOPIC: DEVELOPING HUMILITY (1)* 

 _“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:6._ 

*MESSAGE* 

After the dedication of the temple, God appeared to Solomon at night and tells him that if the people *_“shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)._* We know we need to humble ourselves before God. But what does that mean, and what does it require?

*Let's Look At Some Of The Ways We Can Develop Humility:* 

*1. OVERCOME PRIDE AND DOUBT* 
Humility allows us to see ourselves in proper relation to God and our neighbour, leading us to an accurate self-assessment. We fail to humble ourselves when we develop an inaccurate view of ourselves because of either pride or doubt—both of which are enemies of humility that we must battle. Pride believes that we know better than God does, and doubt believes that God isn't good or powerful enough to change us. Neither of these attitudes glorifies God.

*2. LEARN GOD'S TRUTH ABOUT HUMANITY* 
The primary means we humble ourselves is by learning what God has to say about us. When you search the Scriptures, make note of all the positive and negative things God has to say about mankind. Only by learning God's truth can we acquire the knowledge necessary to develop humility.

*ACTION POINT* 
?️ Are you prideful or doubtful? Take those attitudes to God in prayer and ask Him to help you overcome them.

TOPIC: A LIFTING UP THROUGH UPRIGHTNESS
SCRIPTURE: Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34.


THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Uprightness of character is both a lifter of people and a sustainer of the lifted.


It has been confirmed that uprightness is a lifter of life; righteousness is an exalter of destiny.


One of the greatest help God can give anybody in life and in ministry is the help to maintain uprightness of character. The highest thing God can do for you is not necessarily to give you power or money; it is the grace to maintain uprightness of character. This is because any possession or qualification without character is a setup for disaster.


Please understand that to be made visible without character is visibility unto ignominy. It is a kind of visibility that ends with reproach. This is why one of the best help God can give a person is the help to maintain uprightness of life and character. If you have character and you don’t have money, anointing, or possessions, there is nothing to worry about because with time, you will have all of them. 


However, the tragedy is to have all the other things and lack character because it is a setup for disaster.
So, uprightness of character is both a lifter of people and a sustainer of the lifted. Uprightness of character lifts and then sustains the lifted. It does not matter where people rise to in life, if their character is intact, don’t be afraid for them because they can never crash. 


On the other hand, it does not matter the level people rise to in life, if their character is defective, their crash is inevitable. And the overall outcome is eternal damnation.


So, the uprightness of character is both a lifter of people and a sustainer of the lifted. You are lifted by character and your lifting is also sustained by character. This is why one of the greatest help God can give to you is to assist you to maintain upright character.


Beloved, receive the grace from God to maintain upright character in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: Uprightness of character is both a lifter of people and a sustainer of the lifted.


ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God for the grace to maintain upright character.
2. Refuse the lifestyle of sin and compromise.
3. Make up your mind to live uprightly at all times.
PRAYER: O Lord, thank You for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to maintain upright character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

*TRUE WISDOM?*


*Read Jeremiah 8:8-9.*


8. How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.
9. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?


*MEMORISE: Wisdom is too lofty for a fool; he does not open his mouth in the gate (Proverbs 24:7)*


*EXPOSITION*

In Jeremiah 8:8-9, the Lord questioned the scribes for their claims that they are wise. The Lord challenged that this is not the kind of "wisdom" He is looking for; since they had together with the whole of Israel, "rejected the word of the LORD". 


The scribes were treated as "wise men" and hence, religious leaders of the day. They were often looked upon to interpret and answer any questions the people might have on the Torah. 

If these wise men among them had even rejected the Word of the LORD, just imagine how deep was Israel's sin was? We often thought of wisdom as something we gained in our minds; even if it is so with the Word of God. 


However, it seemed to God that wisdom is not merely a form of head knowledge, or the superb ability to interpret the Word; but it is both the conviction and active response to God's Word in our lives. That is the kind of wisdom cherished by God.


It is expected that as we grow deeper in the Lord, we should discover that the Lord has in His grace, given us the ability to gain meaningful insights from the Bible. Such a "grace gift" from God can help us in many situations, especially, when it comes to the ministry of preaching and Bible studies. 

However, there are times when we discover that such a gift can also turn us away from gaining true wisdom; all because of our human tendency to sin. Because of such a gift, we can be tempted to think that we know a lot and yet the truth is that, we know very little.

 We can also be tempted to be lazy and hence neglect putting in hard work to study the Word. Our text today is a good reminder for us to be constantly grateful, diligent and put into practice, what we have been able to gain through the Word. This would be the kind of wisdom that God is looking for. This is the kind of life that we ought to live in Him.



*PRAYER POINTS:*

1. The kind of wisdom that God is looking for is that we live acceptably before Him; pray therefore, that the Lord would help us to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
2. Pray for God to fill our children with the spirit of divine wisdom and revelation.
3. Lord, fill our leaders with wisdom to acknowledge your supremacy in their lives.
