MONDAY 25TH MAY.



USE WHAT HE GAVE YOU


That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philippians 2:10).

I Learnt very early, as a young Christian, how to put the Word of God to work. I wanted to deal with issues and situations right away, using the Word.
For example, back then, if I mistakenly dashed my foot against something, I’d immediately place my hand on it and say, “Heal, in Jesus’ Name!” I was learning to use authority.

 I might still experience some pain, but I found out I had no swelling, and I knew it was supposed to swell. Instead of getting worse, it quickly got back to normal! If it was a cut and it was bleeding, I’d say, “Seal up, in Jesus’ Name! No bleeding!” and I continued with whatever I was doing.


As I practised the Word like that, and I saw the result, I testified to those around me, sharing my experience of the efficacy of the Word of God. I practised the Word on my body, using the allconquering Name of Jesus and authority that He gave us.

I remember one night, as a teenager, after an encounter with Juju priests and their shrines, while sleeping, I felt some weight on me, pressing on me; it was a spiritual attack; the only time I ever experienced such. I found myself struggling to call the Name of Jesus, but I couldn’t even open my mouth. I finally got that figure off me, as I called out, “Jesus!” Then I went straight on my knees and said, “You devil, in the Name of Jesus, you’d never repeat this; and wherever you are, I bind you, in the Name of Jesus! Never again!” From that day till now, it never happened again, and never will.


Use what you have. Use the Name of Jesus. Otherwise, the devil will prey on you. Use that name to change the atmosphere in your home; use it to change the state of your business. Reign and rule over circumstances in His Name. Hallelujah!


CONFESSION

The Lord has given me power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the ability of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt me. With the all-conquering Name of Jesus, I rule and reign over the devil and circumstances of life. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for making me a partaker of Your indestructible, indomitable, and imperishable life. 

Your glory and Your righteousness are revealed in me today, as I speak and apply the Word in all I do. Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light that lightens my path. 

As I meditate on Your Word today, I am transformed; my life gravitates upwards and forwards, with Your wisdom, glory, and excellence radiating through me.

 I deal wisely in the affairs of life, because of the consciousness of Your Word in my spirit. Christ is my life; in Him I live, and move and have my being! 

As He is, so am I; His glory is resplendent in me. I am fruitful, productive and excellent, because I am one with the Lord, being a member of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. Hallelujah. 


I am filled with the fullness of God; thus, out of my innermost being, I bring forth good things. I declare that my life is for glory and beauty; and in my path, there’s life, success, victory, and wealth. 


I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, holy and sanctified unto God! I flourish like the palm tree;


 I am long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful, and I grow like a cedar in Lebanon; I am majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

THEME: ENEMIES OF CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS.

MEMORISE:

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1

READ: 1 John 3:4-10

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

MESSAGE 

God warns His children to be aware of the several roadblocks on their journey to the promised land. Chief among these is the devil. He puts obstacles in our path so we can reject the ways of the Lord (1 Peter 5:7-9). He uses sin as a weapon of destruction knowing fully well that no unclean thing shall enter into the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21:27).

Seeing these obvious threats to the success of our pilgrimage, God always provides an escape route for us (1 Corinthians 10:13).

In today’s Bible reading, John describes sin as a transgression of the law. It is definitely not a Christian virtue. As a matter of fact, sinner belong to the devil because he has been sinning from the beginning (1 John 3:8).

The whole duty of Satan is to lure people into disobedience against God, thus truncating their journey to eternal life. He told Adam and Eve that eating the forbidden fruit would not affect their relationship with God. Eventually, they were sent from the blissful garden of Eden (Genesis 3). Today, he has introduced the concept of ‘non-essentials’ to the Christian faith. For instance, the devil convinces people that a sip of alcohol once in a while does not matter, and that premarital sex is not bad as long as the couple would eventually marry each other, without regard for Hebrews 13:4! What about lies? Many ‘Christians’ now lie with impunity and it is termed ‘white’ lies. These are very little foxes that destroy the vine of faith. This is a timely warning for Christian pilgrim to guard against seemingly insignificant habits that can exclude one from the hope of eternal life.

ACTION POINT:

Examine your life for socially acceptable behaviors that are not Christ-like. They could deny you of eternal life ultimately. Do away with them all immediately.

RESTORATION TODAY

TOPIC: *A RECORD OF SERVICE*

"On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.  And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus."   Esther  6:1-2.

*MESSAGE*
A record of service literally means a documentation written regarding an individual based on the person's service at an organization. It is an individual's file or record that contains all the details about him, both good and bad. In any establishment, there is a record of service that is kept for all the people working there so that at the end  of the stipulated period, it can be checked to ascertain whether the worker merit promotion or not.

Similarly, there is a record of service kept for us in heaven. In the scripture quoted above, Mordecai saved the life of King Ahasuerus and he was not rewarded immediately but because the deed was recorded down, it was later visited and Mordecai was rewarded accordingly.

We should all bear it in mind that what we do is being recorded and would be used as a determinant factor as to the kind of reward we shall receive when Christ comes back for us. Let us be mindful of our service. May God help us.

?️    Live a lifestyle that would be worthy of a good reward at the judgement seat of Christ

TOPIC: LEARN TO TRUST GOD (PART 2)

TEXT  : Psalms 125:1-3 “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people

from henceforth even for ever. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall upon Israel.”


Redemption is the pathway to a struggle-free life but does not guarantee our experience. What we do with the word of God is what determines our daily experience.

The essence of salvation is for us to exchange our struggles, troubles, sickness, disease, affliction, oppression, business/career breakdowns, academic failure, poverty, lack, wants, barrenness, marital delays and crises with the ‘REST OF CHRIST’ that guarantees fulfillment and satisfaction in all areas of life – Matthew 11:28-30 (Message) - "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

The word trust in our context means absolute dependency on God without any alternative.
Alternative to God is the reason why many are suffering and struggling in the body of Christ today.

If our God did not spare His only begotten son but gave him up as a sacrificial lamb for sin then there is nothing He can not freely give to us, if we can sincerely and genuinely trust Him – Romans 8:32-33, 2Cor 4:15

Redemption is a mystery that needs to be well understood by the saints of God so as to fully tap into the full benefits it offers.

At redemption, God gave all of His (Jesus Christ, the only begotten of the father) to redeem us from the power of darkness and we are expected to respond by totally entrusting our lives to  Jesus as we fully accept Him as our Lord and Personal Saviour – 1John 4:9-15, John 3:16, Romans 1:3, 10:9-13

The greatest challenge of most redeemed is that, they accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour but only very accepted Him as their Lord. He is trusted to be their saviour but not trusted enough to be their Lord.

He did not just save us but He equally bought us with a price hence we are His property for life and has the right to direct the course of our lives through His word and voice.

Can you imagine a tenant in daily hot argument with his landlord, he will be sent packing out of the house.

Therefore, to enjoy the best of our lives we must be ready to surrender everything about us to Him on trust. Any area of life that you are struggling is the area that you have not totally surrendered to Him.

The only proof of your trust in Him is your unreserved and prompt obedience to His words of instruction. Your financial, business/career, marriage, academics, fruitfulness, health etc can be a lot more better if you can trust Him with everything excluding nothing. Absolute trust in God and His word makes immovable in times of crises and a guaranteed impenetrable covering round about us – Psalms 125:1-3

Our father Abraham trusted God so much in every department of his life hence, he became the symbol of faith and generational blessing. He was told to leave his country and family to another land, he responded immediately, the circumscision instruction came and he promptly obeyed, in his marriage he obeyed God by sending Hagar and Ishmael away, above all, he obeyed God on the choice of Isaac as a sacrificial lamb – Isaiah 51:1-4, Genesis 12:1-4, 17:10-13, 23-27, 21:9-14, 22:1-3, 9-12, 16-18, Hebrews 6:12-15


God’s word is the final authority over every issue of concern in our lives. All you you need is to search the scriptures in that area of challenge and then willfully surrender to the word of God and you will come back with testimony of praise.


REMEMBER THAT, OUR GOD IS EVER DEPENDABLE,  EVER RELIABLE AND THERE IS NO IRREVERSIBLE SITUATION WITH HIM, HE IS MORE THAN ABLE TO FIX ANYTHING WHATSOEVER COMMITTED TO HIS TRUST WITH OUR OBEDIENCE – Psalms 62:5-8, Isaiah 1:19, Job 36:11, Ezekiel 21:27

PRAYER POINT: FATHER, IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS AND BY YOUR OUTSTRETCHED HAND, DELIVER ME AND MY FAMILY FROM THE ACTIVITIES OF HOUSEHOLD ENEMIES AND AS I TRUST YOU WITH MY OBEDIENCE, GRANT ME UNHINDERED ACCESS TO GOOD OF THE LAND DAILY. Deut 6:18, 26:7-9, Isaiah 1:19, Psalms 68:19

TOPIC: DISTINCTION BY WISDOM AND PURPOSE

SCRIPTURE: Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. Ecclesiastes 8:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

It is clear from Scriptures that the way of wisdom is the way of stardom. To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine. The wisdom of God is behind the making of kingdom stars. Joseph was a man of wisdom who was established in stardom in the land of Egypt. This same wisdom made Daniel a star in the land of Babylon.

Now, one way of reaching the place of stardom is KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE for living.
The knowledge of purpose is pathway to distinction. God began to tell Jeremiah his purpose on the earth in Jeremiah 1:5. The purpose was made clear to Jeremiah and the knowledge of that purpose made him to stand out in his world.

Please, take note of the following points:

a) The way of purpose is the way of destiny distinction.

Anyone who knows his purpose and follows that purpose can never end as a destitute in life (Daniel 1:8).
b) To follow the way of purpose is to end in the place of prominence (Proverbs 22:29). A man who is diligent in his business and life’s assignment shall stand before great men. He shall not stand before ordinary people.
c) Life’s assignment is key to life’s enhancement and uplifting.
The assignment of your life is what will produce the enhancement and uplifting for your life. This was seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 41:36-44.
My counsel is, ask God to clearly reveal to you the purpose of your life (Habakkuk 2:1). And pursue your life’s purpose with everything you have got (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

REMEMBER THIS: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God at the place of prayer to reveal your purpose for living to you.
2. If you have discovered your purpose, go ahead and fulfil it on time.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the wisdom to know my purpose for living and to carry it out without delay, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

When it comes to God, He makes no mistakes. Every human being has the propensity to make mistakes, but not Your God! He is perfect and His works are perfect. 

You are His work! In fact, you are His workmanship, a masterpiece of His creation! When God made you, He did not make a mistake! He did a thorough and complete job. You are not just an afterthought. 

You are unique and there is no other person like you. when people look at you, there is always a limit to what they can see.

*NO ONE KNOWS YOU THE WAY GOD KNOWS YOU!* Yes! God created you and hid your identity from your enemies so that He will use you as His ELEVATION SHOWROOM this year. 

He created you and He equipped you with all that you’ll ever need to live a life of victory and success. Wow! This amazing! God did not create you to fail or to SUFFER DEMOTION! Kenneth/Copeland puts it thus: 

“There are no God-made failures.” In other words, GOD IS NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF MAKING FAILURES. Vs 14 of today’s scripture says: “I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” David is saying emphatically that God makes no mistakes well and in creating him, He made no mistake. 

He created him second to none! Joel Osteen said: *You are not what people call you! You are what you answer to.”*


It doesn’t matter what people may call you or what Iife throws at you; if you refuse to answer to it, it will never become your name.

 *The LORD IS your ELDER BROTHER and you are to look like Him in power, purity and prosperity. Will God waste HIS time to create a FAMILY OF FAILURES AND SHAMEFUL CHILDREN?* NO! NO! NO! Your life must see results and you are moving forward BY FORCE this year! 

God is not a man and cannot lie. He says what He means and He means what He says! Hold on to Him and look up to Him!

*TOPIC:**EXILED, BUT NOT IN BONDAGE*
*Read: Job 32:1-5*

Job 32:1-5 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.

When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

*MEMORISE: Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him (Job 13:15)*

*EXPOSITION*

Many believers who go the wrong way today, have attributed their waywardness and inconsistencies to the environment they found themselves. While this may be a factor to misbehave, we have an inbuilt (God-deposited) capacity to resist all efforts to yield to temptations.

 The three Hebrew friends were part of the exiles taken from Jerusalem to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar. 

Though they found themselves in a strange land with strange gods and ways of life, they refused to behave strangely, from the point of view of God's Word (instructions) that they had obviously learnt from childhood.

They refused to jettison the ancient landmark set by their parents, back at home. They were not in bondage under the guise of any vain religion, and so refused to bow to any image, regardless of the grave consequences that were read to them. The king's threat and the fiery fire meant nothing to them.

 They knew whatever they did or said in the course of their duties were not to man but to God. Remember Joseph, when he was faced with sin, did not refuse to dance to the seducer's tune, just because of his master, alone, but majorly, that God may not be angry with him (Gen. 39:9). He was a slave but not ENSLAVED!

There is an eye watching you that you cannot see. Without being rude, believers must do their jobs everywhere with all diligence, without compromise, fear or intimidation of any sort. Children of God must be courageous, and trust God, even in hardest situations. 

Do you know you are God's representative where you work, school, or catch fun? The God and His Word you fail to defend today, will fail to defend you, when you fall. Act for God where necessary and talk where necessary; the King of kings is watching you. But do this with, and in God's wisdom and provisions readily available in His Word.

*PRAYER POINTS*

1. Lord, help me never to yield to temptations, again.
2. Father, please help our youths in higher institutions not to be driven away by the tides of ungodliness in their environments.
3. O Lord, help us and our leaders to know always that Your eyes are watching us, even in the darkest of places, so that we would not compromise Your standard in any areas of our lives.
