EPL: Bayer Leverkusen take decision on Kai Havertz joining Chelsea

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director, Rudi Voller, has ruled out any possibility of midfielder, Kai Havertz leaving the club amid interest from Premier League giant, Chelsea.
DAILY POST recalls that Havertz had drawn the interest of Chelsea.
Chelsea is reported to have started negotiations with Leverkusen about a potential transfer of the Germany international this summer’s transfer window.
The Blues owner, Roman Abramovich, is willing to give manager, Frank Lampard, significant backing in the transfer market this summer.
Reacting to the development, Voller insisted that Leverkusen is doing everything possible to keep the 20-year-old beyond this summer.
“We have not given up hope that he will stay with us,” Voller told ARD.

Former Chelsea and Nigeria player, John Mikel Obi, has admitted his surprise at seeing his one time teammate succeed as much as he has.
Salah signed for Chelsea from Basel in 2013 for around £11m, joining Mikel at the club but he made just 19 appearances for the club in all competitions under Jose Mourinho and was then loaned to Fiorentina and Roma.

In June 2017, Liverpool brought Salah back to the Premier League as they bought him for around £33m . He has gone on to score 91 goals in 144 games for the Reds, and has been nominated for the Ballon D'or the last two seasons, becoming a global icon of the sport.
Mikel now a free agent, says he did not see that success coming.

‘When Salah came to Chelsea, he was a young boy, but he had a nice personality and everyone loved him,’ Mikel told OnTime Sports.
‘He was very disciplined, we were close friends, talking a lot and joking a lot, he was a good friend.
‘I believed in his development, but frankly I did not imagine that he would reach the quality that he has now.’
Mikel was recently released from his two year contract with Trabzonspor and he now says he would be open to playing for a team in Egypt.
“Playing in the Egyptian Premier League? Why not? I am a professional footballer and everything is possible. I never ruled anything out.”

Nigerian youngster, Tino Anjorin signs five-year contract with Chelsea

Tino Anjorin has committed his long-term future to Chelsea by signing a new five-year contract with the Premier League club.
The 18-year-old midfielder, born to a Nigerian father and English mother in Poole will now be tied to the Blues until June 2025.
‘It’s a brilliant feeling,’ the England Under-19 international told the official Chelsea website after putting pen to paper on the new deal. ‘I’ve been at the club since I was six years old so to get to this stage and then be offered another five-year contract on top of that is amazing.
‘I had no hesitation but to take it straight away because to play for the club I always dreamed of playing for is really special for me.’
‘It’s been a really crucial season for young players here,’ Anjorin went on. ‘Frank, Jody Morris and Joe Edwards have taken us on board and really committed themselves to bringing young players through.
‘It’s been really important to have those familiar faces around,’ he said of the former Academy coaches who are now working alongside Lampard. ‘It’s easy to talk to people and be around the first team building more because you’re welcomed in.
'Hopefully, I can try to carry on being a part of that as long as I keep working hard and impressing the coaches.’
Tino Anjorin made his debut for the club in the 7-1 win over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup back in September. He also featured as a substitute in Chelsea's 4-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge in March.

EPL: Van Dijk’s new deal to make him highest-paid Liverpool player ever

Liverpool defender, Virgil van Dijk, will sign a £220,000-per-week deal to become the highest-paid player in the club’s history, the UK Sun reports.
The Reds are keen to tie the Dutchman down, with recent rumours linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, an agreement is not expected to be reached quickly, with Jurgen Klopp’s men looking to wrap up their first title win in over 30 years.
Liverpool travel to Everton for a Merseyside Derby on June 21.
They could win their 19th league title at the home of their rivals, if Manchester City lose to Arsenal at the Etihad on June 17.
Once the title is secured, Van Dijk will pen a five-year contract worth a whopping £57million.

The Premier League has confirmed that Anthony Taylor will be the man in charge of the Manchester City vs Arsenal game next Wednesday.
The match is one of the two fixtures that will be played that day, to kick off the restart of top flight football in England.
Aston Villa vs Sheffield United gets us underway at 6 pm and Michael Oliver will take charge of the fixture.
Two hours later, City will host Arsenal, with Manchester-born Taylor the referee.
The Gunners could move up as high as sixth with a win at the Etihad.
It would leave them just five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, in the battle to clinch slots for European football next season.

Chelsea is ready to sell at least four players this summer, as it looks to oversee a huge squad overhaul ahead of next season.
According to The Times, Chelsea wants to raise funds by offloading some of its defenders, Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen this summer.
Frank Lampard’s side is keen to sign Leicester City left-back, Ben Chilwell this summer’s transfer window.
Chilwell has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea defender, Ashley Cole, has since advised the club to prioritise a move for Chilwell this summer.
“I would love to see Chilwell here,” Cole told talkSPORT. I think he’s a quality player.
“I have heard he’s a Chelsea fan so yes I would like to see him here. It is a big decision for the club, but quality-wise for sure he is good enough.”

A U.S. Olympic boxer has escaped a four-year ban after she failed a drug test and blamed it on having sex with her boyfriend.
Flyweight Virginia Fuchs, 32, escaped the ban after being cleared by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA)
She had recorded positive tests for the banned etrozole metabolite and GW1516 metabolites in an out-of competition urine sample on February 13, USADA said in a statement.

The low amounts of letrozole metabolite and GW1516 metabolites detected in her sample were consistent with recent exposure to the substances via sexual transmission,' the USADA said.
The anti-doping body said Fuchs's partner had been using therapeutic doses of the two substances and that Fuchs bore no fault or negligence for the adverse finding and would therefore not be banned.
'We strongly believe this case and others like it, including meat contamination and prescription medication contamination cases should be considered no violation,' USADA chief Travis Tygart said.
Fuchs missed out on qualifying for the Rio Olympics in 2016 but is now setting her sights on next year’s delayed Tokyo Games.
'I’m relieved that once USADA completed an extensive investigation, they found that my case was unique and therefore gave me a No Fault ruling, allowing me to return to competition. This has been a huge lesson for me and now that is over, I’m fully focused on preparing for Tokyo,' she wrote on Twitter.

Chukwueze replaced Gerard Moreno in the 58th minute during the encounter.
The 21-year-old almost scored a superlative goal late on when he navigated through the entire defense of Celta Vigo.

PSG confirm Cavani, Silva will leave club this summer

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director, Leonardo Araújo, has confirmed that striker, Edison Cavani and defender, Thiago Silva will both leave the club this summer.
Both Cavani and Silva are out of contract with PSG in June.
But the duo will remain with the club until the season is fully completed as PSG are in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after being crowned Ligue 1 champions last month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Cavani and Thiago Silva? Yes, we are coming to an end,” Leonardo told the Journal de Dimanche.
“The idea is to continue playing with them until the end of August.

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi on Saturday night set a new record following his side’s La Liga 4-0 win against Mallorca.
Barcelona went in front as early as the second minute of play, after Arturo Vidal headed home Jordi Alba’s cross.
Martin Braithwaite doubled their advantage with eight minutes left to half time.
Alba made it three late in the second half before Messi rounded off scoring on an impressive night for Barcelona at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.
However, Messi’s Goal against Mallorca means the 32-year-old is now the only player to score 20 or more goals in the La Liga in twelve consecutive seasons, Goal reports.
The Argentine captain also saw his league assist tally this season rise to 14, making him both the top scorer and top assist provider in Spain’s top-flight league so far this term.
Messi will now hope to lead Quique Setien’s men to victory when they host Leganes on Tuesday in their next fixture.
The victory against Mallorca means Barcelona are now five points clear of Real Madrid.
Real Madrid will be looking to close the gap when they host Eibar on Sunday.

Former Bayern Munich and Liverpool midfielder, Dietmar Hamann has predicted that Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho will join Manchester United ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool.
DAILY POST had reported that Sancho had drawn the interest of Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the past.
But Hamann says he expects Sancho to return to England at the end of the season to sign for the Red Devils.
According to him, the 20-year-old England youngster is just too good to wait for another year before making a switch to the Premier League.
“There will continue to be a market for the top players, like Jadon Sancho,” Hamann told Bild.
“He is just too good to wait another year. I see him going to the Premier League.
“The most likely option there is Manchester United.”
