THURSDAY 27TH FEBRUARY.


MAINTAIN YOUR COMPOSURE AND CONFESSION

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

God loves you and cares about you. He always wants to see you win and live happy every day. Jesus said, “...In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Never allow circumstances frustrate you; train your faith. Regardless of what you face, tell yourself, “All things are working together for my good” (Romans 8:28).

2 Timothy 3:12 says, “Doubtless, all that’ll live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution”; it’s part of the deal. But the beautiful part is that you’ll always win, because you’ve been called into the triumphant life. Things might not exactly be going as you’ve expected, but maintain your composure and confession of the Word. 

Don’t accept defeat. Don’t give in to sickness or anything that hurts. Don’t say, “I’ve been infected,” just because you noticed some symptoms in your body. You belong to the “new creation” breed.

Symptoms or the doctor’s diagnosis shouldn’t change your confession. Keep the Word in your mouth. How you feel or the figures in your bank statement don’t change who you are. The things you see with your physical eyes are temporary; that means they’re subject to change. Therefore, set your faith on course. Your faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).

Every adversity you face is your opportunity to experience and manifest the glory of God: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17). No matter what you go through in life, it’ll turn out for your good, as long as you turn your eyes away from the conditions or circumstances, to the Word. Hebrews 12:2 says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith….”


CONFESSION

Blessed be God, who gives me the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, and has made me more than a conqueror. I live triumphantly today and always, fulfilling God’s dream and bringing glory to His Name. Hallelujah!

Dear Heavenly Father, I’ve received Your Word into my spirit today, and I am cleansed and vitalized through and through, from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. Every fibre of my being is inundated with divine life. 

Thank You precious Father, for blessing me in all things, and making me a blessing to my world. I declare that I am mightily blessed today as I seek opportunities to give, for You’ve said in Your Word, it’s more blessed to give than to receive. Hallelujah. 

I am a package of blessings. I’ve received the invocation of the ability, favour, and the direction to prosper. 

My steps are ordered of the Lord; I am at the right place at the right time, meeting the right people, and doing the right things. 

I am always at the centre of God’s perfect will. Doors of opportunities are opened unto me by the Spirit of God; for I am the seed of Abraham, and his blessings rest on me! 

I am like a tree by the stream, well-watered and ever-flourishing, bearing fruits of righteousness and experiencing luxuriant growth in every area of my life. 

Truly, the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places and I live in prosperity and victory every day, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

10. He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase; this is also vanity. 

11. When goods increase, they are increased that eat them; and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? 

12. The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. 

13. There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. 

14. But those riches perish by evil travail; and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

 15. As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.

MESSAGE
 ''And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.'' 
Luke 12:15 

Having ‘life abundantly’ does not refer to material things.

 Ecclesiastes 5:10-12 says he who loves silver and gold will never be satisfied and the abundance of the rich will not let him sleep. 

A Christian is not identified by how prosperous he/she is.

 Although God wants us to prosper financially, it is even as we prosper spiritually (3 John 1:2). 

He is more concerned with the prosperity of the soul than material blessing which is an addition. 

Matthew 6:33 says

“but seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be ADDED…”

 True Christians are known by their fruits of righteousness and holy lifestyle. 

A young man came to Jesus and said he wanted to follow Him. The Lord asked him to sell all he had before he could, and he went away sorrowful (Matthew 19:16-24). Many have lost their place in Christ due to the love of wealth. 

Today, some rich people are depressed because they cannot give up their wealth for Him. 

One day, a professor who had just given his life to Christ said to me 

“Pastor, ever since I became born again, I have just been full of joy, I hope it is not dangerous to be too happy.”

 I said 

“That is the joy of the Lord, enjoy it”. 

He was a successful man, but all the while, he had not experienced joy until he met Christ. He got abundant life.

 Abundant life in Him means you can fulfill your destiny.

 Peter wanted to be a millionaire fisherman, but Jesus told him that he would become a fisher of men. 

In Psalm 23:5, David did not say that the table was filled with assorted food, instead anointing that ran over. Abundant life is overflowing anointing. 

In God’s presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).This is the promised abundant life – joy like a river. Stay content in Christ so you can have abundant life. Remember, godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). 

 KEY POINT:
 Anything that takes you away from Christ has taken life away from you.

*TODAY’S WORD?*
Whether you realize it or not, all through the day the power of “I am” is at work in your life, for whatever follows those two simple words will always come looking for you. When you say, “I am so unlucky,” you’re inviting disappointments. “I am so overweight.” Calories come looking for you. It’s as though you’re giving it permission to be in your life. That’s why you have to be careful what follows the “I am” and not wield its power against you.

The good news is, you get to choose what follows the “I am.” Get up in the morning and invite good things into your life. “I am blessed. I am strong. I am talented. I am wise. I am disciplined. I am focused. I am prosperous.” When you talk like that, talent gets summoned by Almighty GOD: “Go find that person.” Health, strength, abundance, and discipline start heading your way, and it costs you nothing!

TOPIC: MORE THERAPIES FOR FEAR

SCRIPTURE: This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble…. Deuteronomy 2:25

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you hear determines what you fear.

Life is said to be warfare, not funfair; a battlefield and not a playground. And if we must live a victorious life on earth, fearlessness is a non-negotiable requirement. This is because to fear is to be prone to danger, defeat and death. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Previously, we saw some of the therapies for fear, and today, we shall be looking at more therapies for fear:

1. The Presence of God
The Presence of God is the killer of fear (Psalm 91:1-7). To live in absolute fearlessness, ensure that you live with a feelable, palpable, tangible Presence of God. Ensure that nothing disconnects you from God’s presence; ensure that the way you feel in church, you feel like that at home. The devil that can waste you before your time has not been born.

2. The right input

Beware of what you hear; avoid fear-provoking sights and sounds (Deuteronomy 2:25). What people hear can cause them anguish and trembling, especially if it borders on negative events and news (Deuteronomy 13:11). What you hear determines what you fear.

3. Upright living

The Bible says that the righteous are as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). If your heart is clear, your fear must die. Where there is nothing to hide, there is nothing to fear. These are dangerous times to compromise, live with a man you are not married to or live anyhow you want. You cannot afford a guilty conscience in a time of war; it weakens a person, and if the person dies in a state of compromise, he goes straight to hell.

Beloved, you cannot escape fear until your conscience is clear.

REMEMBER THIS: What you hear determines what you fear.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Refuse to give your ears to sources of news that transmit fear.
2. Live uprightly; run away from sin.
3. Spend time with God to assimilate His Nature and be surrounded by His Presence.

*TOPIC: LORD, RAISE A REUBEN FOR ME!*

*BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 37:19-27*

Verses 20-22 of today’s word says: “Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, ‘Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.’ And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, ‘Let us not kill him.’ And Reuben said unto them, ‘Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him;’ that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.” Wow! I want you to know that before Joseph was cast into the pit, the first plan of his brothers was to kill him. The pit was not their plan. 

Their first plan was *“LET’S KILL HIM,”* but at the point they wanted to kill him, Reuben rose and said, *“LET’S NOT KILL HIM.* Let’s not shed blood, let’s put him into the pit.”

The Bible said, Reuben’s plan was to go away secretly and come back to rescue Joseph. Reuben was the voice that God used to deliver Joseph from destiny wasters. And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that in this year 2020, God will raise a Reuben for your destiny.

 Note the words: *“LET’S KILL HIM”* and *“LET’S NOT KILL HIM.”* These were the two voices speaking over Joseph’s destiny. *The first* voice that was speaking against him. It was the voice of wickedness and destruction. It was the voice of Joseph’s haters, mockers and enemies of his elevation party. 

The second voice was speaking for Joseph. It was the voice of hope and deliverance. It was the voice of justice and ELEVATION. God raised that voice to give him an opportunity to live again and FULFIL HIS DESTINY.

*Reuben never loved Joseph! He was an UNWILLING DESTINY HELPER to Joseph and in this year 2020, God will also raise men and women who may not like you but they will be used to plan your ELEVATION, UPGRADE AND HIGHER GROUND! Was it not HAMAN who announced Mordecai on HORSEBACK by force?* 

That shall be your story this year! Reuben is the voice that was saying, “Whether your enemies like it or not Joseph, your dream must happen.” Jehovah God is instructing me to tell you that HE will raise a Divine voice for you this year! A “REUBEN” shall show up for you every month and at every juncture of your need for a voice this year! Hold on! Hold out and LOOK UP! Don’t miss the anointing service of this weekend: *ANOINTING TO CONNECT INFLUENCERS and DESTINY HELPERS!*

THE HARLOTRY OF GOD'S CHILDREN
Read: Hosea 1:1-9

Hosea 1:1-9 The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.

So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.
And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.
And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

MEMORISE: For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns broken cisterns that can hold no water (Jeremiah 2:13)

EXPOSITION

The Northern Israel was greatly loved by YAHWEH, like the south. They were prospered by Him. But they abused this privilege, abandoning Him for corruption and idolatry. Had they forgotten that He is jealous (Exo. 20:5)? They were just not bothered by 'whose ox is gored'. God's justice proved to them that they were sinners and had abandoned Him for a terrible rival. And so, God declared to them and to as many who engage in spiritual harlotry today, these three things:

i. I WILL DISPERSE YOU. Only those who dwell in the secret place of God shall abide under His shadow (Psa. 91:1). Many who still pray and minister on God's altar today, are already dispersed and handed over to the devil.

ii. I WILL NO LONGER HAVE MERCY. This may be hard to believe; yet God can never lie (Num. 23:19). How long are we going to hide under God's mercy to defraud Him and rubbish His name among the heathen? What do we say of prophets who go to herbalist and Imams for charms to 'grow their ministry'? God's judgment looms on such (Eph. 5:6; Col. 3:6).

iii. YOU ARE NOT MY PEOPLE. This is the final blow from God as He separates the sheep from the goats. Though, God created all humans, not all will return to Him, because the Lord knows those who are His (2 Tim. 2:19).

Have you already gone astray, having your heart roaming about during church services, and eating on the altar of the devil? Come back today, as God is waiting for you to be reconciled and restored. Delay is dangerous.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, please cast me not away from Your presence and take not the Holy Spirit from me.
2. O Lord, deliver me from the slavery of sin.
3. Father, don't allow our services and that of our leaders to be in vain; lead us to everlasting life, in Jesus' name.
