RESTORATION TODAY
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2020.
TOPIC: *CHRISTIANITY: A WAY OF LIFE(1)*
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23.
*MESSAGE*
Even though some have argued that Christianity is a religion, it is worthy of note that it's not merely a belief in God or desire of God but a full living and practice of the life of Christ and his laws. It involves experimental encounter with the person of Christ. Christianity must be viewed as a way of life in the existence of a believer.
The ultimate goal of God is reconciling man back to Himself Is to restore the fellowship that was lost between the two parties in the Garden of Eden. Being a Christian therefore demands that we live daily to please Him. Our ultimate goal must also be to walk before him and please him until the time of our glorification. (Colossisans 1-9-10). Our greatest objective as Christians, therefore, should be to walk worthy of Him, exhibiting the mind of Christ and constantly striving hard to please our Father.
*ACTION POINT*
? When last did someone, without compulsion called you, a Christian?
*SCRIPTURES*
Acts 11:19-26; Ephesians 2:8-13; Luke 15:24; 13:23-25.
*PRAYER POINTS*
1. My Father, I have decided to follow you, give me the grace to follow you daily;
2. Father, give me the grace to overcome every worldly attraction that is competing with my focus on You in the name of Jesus;
3. Father, disconnect me from any worldly entanglements that will hinder the shinning of Your light through my life in the name of Jesus.
*THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR*
Genesis 36; Psalm 9-10; Matthew 20:17-34.
