Iran puts $80m bounty on Donald Trump’s head and threatens to attack the White House






Iran has reportedly placed an $80million bounty on Donald Trump's head in response to the president's warning that if they try to attack an American Base or any American, the U.S. will hit them hard without hesitation.
 
It was made known during the funeral procession for General Qassem Soleimani in Mashad on Sunday, January 5, 2020. The Iranian general was killed in a United States airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump over last Friday. 
 
At the funeral procession, an organizer called on all Iranians to donate $1 each 'in order to gather an $80million bounty on President Trump's head'. 
 
State TV announced the bounty, saying: “Iran has 80 million inhabitants. Based on the Iranian population, we want to raise $80million (£61million) which is a reward for those who get close to the head of President Trump.”
It comes as the two country’s teeter on the brink of war after Iran threatened to attack the White House while branding Donald Trump a “terrorist in a suit” after he vowed to target 52 sites in the Islamic Republic.
 
The menacing message was delivered by Iranian politician Abolfazl Abutorabi, who labelled the US’s deadly strike on General Soleimani “a declaration of war”.
 
He said: “’We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time.
“When someone declares war do you want to respond to the bullets with flowers? They will shoot you in the head.”
 
The Iranian government has also announced it will no longer abide by any of the limits of its 2015 nuclear deal.
 
This comes after President Trump disclosed that the United States has spent two trillion dollars on Military equipment should in case Iran attempts to attack an American Base or any American.

 Iran Will Never Have A Nuclear Weapon, Trump Tweets 

President Donald Trump on Monday repeated his insistence that Iran will not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, amid mounting tension over the US killing of a top Iranian commander.

Writing in all-caps, the US leader tweeted: “IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”
The tweet came a day after Tehran announced it was further winding down observance of parts of an international deal struck to ensure that the country does not secretly develop a nuclear weapon under cover of its civilian nuclear industry.

Trump withdrew the United States from the 2015 deal negotiated under his predecessor Barack Obama. Last year, Iran resumed uranium enrichment, reporting a tenfold increase in production.

Tensions between the two countries spiked last week when a US drone strike in Baghdad killed Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force.

While Iran has threatened retaliation for the killing, Trump has warned that the US will strike “very hard and very fast” at as many as 52 Iranian targets if the Islamic republic does attack US personnel or assets.

Huge crowds turned out on Monday in Iran for the 62-year-old commander’s funeral, while in neighbouring Iraq, parliament has voted to expel some 5,200 US troops stationed in the country.

Trump’s tweet did not add any details about the steps he was considering to prevent Iran from reviving its nuclear program. Iran has always denied any military dimension to its nuclear project.

British Islamic charity is being investigated for praising assassinated Iranian general Qassem Soleimani as a martyr












A British charity is being investigated for prasing assassinated Iranian general Qassem Soleimani as a martyr.
 
The Islamic Centre of England, a charity with assets of more than £4 million reportedly organized a vigil at the Islamic Centre in Maida Vale, London, on Saturday (Jan.4) to commemorate the warlord.
 
The event was attended by more than 2,000 people, including Iran’s ambassador to London, The Times reported. 
 
Seyed Moosavi, 51, the charity’s director and the UK representative of Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei praised Soleimani as a ‘dedicated soldier of Islam’ who had died at the hands of ‘the most wicked members of the human race’.
 
The Islamic Centre's director also referred to Soleimani as an 'honourable Islamic commander' in a message of condolence.  Qasem Soleimani, who was the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force unit killed last week alongside his deputy  Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in a United States airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump.
 
The memorial service was held 25 minutes after a man was arrested outside the centre to prevent the breach of peace and for obstructing officers.

Confirming the investigation,the Charity Commission said: ‘We are aware of a vigil... and publications on its website. We will be contacting the charity to seek further information.’

U.S. reportedly denies Iran Foreign Minister visa to attend U.N. meeting amid rising tensions



                


The United States has reportedly denied a visa to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who wanted to attend an upcoming United Nations Security Council meeting, violating the terms of a 1947 headquarters agreement requiring Washington to allow foreign officials into the country for UN affairs.
 
Citing a diplomatic source familiar with the matter, Foreign Policy reported on Monday that Zarif had requested a visa a “few weeks ago” to enter the United States to attend a Security Council meeting on January 9 on the importance of upholding the UN Charter.
 
However, a US government official phoned UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to inform him that Washington would not allow Zarif into the country, according to the Washington-based diplomatic source.
 
The US State Department and the US mission to the United Nations did not respond to a request for comment, or a request to explain what the US legal basis is for barring Zarif from entering the country. A spokesperson for the UN secretary-general also declined comment.
 
               
 
Reacting to the news, Iran's mission to the United Nations said, "We have seen the media reports but we have not received any official communication from either the US or the UN regarding Foreign Minister Zarif's visa."
 
Under the 1947 UN "headquarters agreement", the United States is required to allow access to the UN for foreign diplomats but Washington says it can deny visas for "security, terrorism and foreign policy" reasons.
 
The UN forum to be held on Thursday would have given Zarif a global spotlight to criticise the US for killing Soleimani. Zarif has previously been placed under tight travel and economics restrictions by the US, permitting him to travel within a very small area of New York City.

Iran's Supreme leader Khamenei orders direct military retaliation on US interests, says there will be no proxy attacks



               


Following outrage in Iran over the US killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, and his subsequent three day state funeral which ends Tuesday, Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for a direct retaliation against the United States rather than relying on proxy attacks.
        
Khamenei, the Commander in chief of Iran's Armed Forces, who was also a close friend of the killed Soleimani, swore to revenge the killing of Soleimani using the Iranian military, a startling departure for the Iranian leadership which had almost always cloaked its attacks behind the actions of proxies it had cultivated around the region since 1979.
 
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, after shedding tears at Soleimani's coffin, made a rare appearance at a meeting of the government’s National Security Council and said their revenge must be a 'direct and proportional attack on American interests', openly carried out by Iranian forces themselves.
 
On Tuesday, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said the country had lined up 13 'revenge scenarios' in retaliation for Soleimani's death.
''The Americans should know that until now 13 revenge scenarios have been discussed in the council and even if there is consensus on the weakest scenario, carrying it out can be a historic nightmare for the Americans,'' Ali Shamkhani said. 
 
Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in Iraq in a U.S. drone strike on Friday was the leader of the Quds Forces of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps.

Stampede At Qassem Soleimani's Burial Kills 40 People, Injures 213 Persons


Dozens of people have been killed in a stampede that erupted in the Iranian city of Kerman at the funeral procession for a top commander killed in an air strike by the United States, according to officials.

"So far 40 people were killed and 213 others were wounded in the incident," the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Tuesday, citing an emergency services official.

Earlier, the head of the country's emergency services, Pirhossein Koolivand, told state television that "32 of our citizens lost their lives in the procession ... and 190 were injured" due to "overcrowding".

The injured were immediately transferred to hospital, he added.

Initial videos posted online showed people lying lifeless on a road, others shouting and trying to help them.

Hundreds of thousands of people had gathered in the small city of Kerman for the burial of Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite Quds Force, who was assassinated on Friday near the international airport of Iraq's capital, Baghdad.

The burial was postponed, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported, without providing more details.

Tuesday's funeral comes after days of processions that attracted huge crowds in the streets of Ahvaz in southwestern Iran, followed by Mashhad in the northwest, the capital Tehran and the holy city of Qom.

Al Jazeera's Assed Beig, reporting from Tehran, said many who were unable to attend the previous gatherings had made their way to the final procession in Kerman.

"People are travelling in narrow spaces, going in one direction to that specific graveyard - and that could be one of the reasons as to why a stampede has happened," Beig said.

The assassination of Soleimani triggered a dramatic escalation of tensions in the region and marked the most significant confrontation between the United States and Iran in recent years.

US Airbase In Iraq Hit By Rockets

An airbase housing US and coalition troops in Iraq has been hit by rockets, according to US security sources. The Al-Asad base was reportedly hit by multiple rockets. It is unclear if there have been any casualties.

It come after top Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani was killed in a drone strike in Baghdad on Friday, on the orders of US President Donald Trump.
Iran has threatened "severe revenge" for Soleimani's death.
