MONDAY, 26TH AUGUST

SOWING THE WORD

A sower went out to sow his seed… (Luke 8:5).
The Lord Jesus gave a parable of the sower in Luke 8, saying, “A sower went out to sow his seed…” (Luke 8:5). Then in the eleventh verse, He explained that the seed the sower sowed was the Word of God. However, something striking to observe is the fact that He didn’t say, “The sower went in to sow his seed.” Rather, He tells us “He went OUT to sow the Word!”

This lets us know that we have a ministry of the Word to those outside; we must go out to sow the Word. It reminds of the “great Go,” the great commission, in Mark 16:15. The Lord said, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Then in the 20th verse, it says, “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” They went out to sow the Word, to preach the Gospel.

Out in the world is where the sinners are; that’s our mission field: the hedges, the busy crossroads of life—where you have the rendezvous of broken humanity. Our job is to take the Gospel to them, for that’s the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

Therefore, no matter what you do, sow the Word; preach the Word. Win souls now, more than ever, because the time is short. Be dauntless and resolute in your soul-winning efforts. Let nothing dissipate your passion for lost souls.

You might say, “What if they don’t listen to me?” Don’t worry about that. Jesus already told us about the different responses we might get when He narrated the parable of the sower (Read Mark 4:4-8). There’re those who’d certainly listen to you, and the Word will produce fruits of righteousness in them. This should be your joy and focus.

It’s our responsibility, irrespective of the responses we get, to sow, and keep sowing the Word. The Lord has given you a bag of seeds—His words in your spirit; don’t keep it to yourself. Go out and persuade the lost; tell them about the great love the Father has bestowed on them through the Gospel.

2 Corinthians 5:11 says, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men....” You’re God’s agent of salvation—specially enlisted in His workforce—ordained to turn sinners from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for enlisting me as an end time soul winner, armed with the glorious Gospel of Christ. I’m committed to the urgent spread of the Gospel around the world, turning many unto righteousness, by your grace and power at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MESSAGE

Bodyguards are security personnel specially trained to protect wealthy and powerful individuals. They are usually found around very important personalities and their family members. As a matter of fact, some people are not seen in public without bodyguards because they don’t feel safe without them. Nevertheless, human bodyguards are limited in power, and the cost of having them is beyond the reach of the average person. However, the good news for Christians in that we have bodyguards in this world, of the spiritual kind, who are automatically appointed to every appointed to every child of God the moment we become born again. Unlimited in power, they are invincible and operate at a speed much faster than the speed of light. The most amazing thing about our bodyguards is that their services have been fully paid for with the Blood of Jesus. That is why Hebrews 1:14 says:

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”

When a child is born, what happens to the child depends on the available support system. The stronger the support system. The more fortified that child is for success in life. Princes and princesses benefit from the services of royal servants. As children of God, our Father has provided angels as part of our support system. Psalm 91:10-13 says it is the duty of our Father’s angels to ensure that no harm befalls us. Angels are therefore our personal bodyguards, who go with us wherever we go. When the children of kings go out, they are taken in chauffeur-driven cars, whereas the children of ordinary people trek even through the woods or bush paths without any form of protection. From this day onward, be conscious of and utilize the angelic protection you have around you.

A brother shared a testimony about a flight he was on. He said while airborne, the first two engines of their plan suddenly failed. In panic, their pilot told them that the plane would crash if the third engine also failed, and pandemonium broke out in the plane. All the while, this brother was sitting by the window, He turned to his left to look out, and he saw a huge angel who smiled at him and whispered to him that he was carrying the plane. To the surprise of everyone else, the plane safely landed an hour later at the nearest airport. Nobody could explain how they managed to land except this brother. He said if he had told them what happened, they would not have believed him. In the Bible, when Daniel was thrown into the den of lions, an angel went ahead of him to shut the lion’s mouth (Daniel 6:22). This season, you also shall receive the full complement of your heavenly Father’s support system, in Jesus’ Name.

ACTION POINT:

Commit your family members into God’s hands, asking that His angels will stand guard over them.

The limit of your faith determines the limit of your purchasing power in the spiritual.

SCRIPTURE: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Hebrews 11:1-2
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot purchase higher than the faith at your disposal.

Faith is a spiritual currency with which supernatural transactions are made. In the spiritual, faith is like what money is in the physical. All the purchases you can make in the realm of the spirit are made by the currency of faith. Favour, greatness, divine supplies, divine health, miracles, etc. are accessible by faith. So, the limit of your faith determines the limit of your purchasing power in the spiritual.

Beloved, the kind of things you can access in the realm of the spirit are limited by the extent of your faith. You cannot purchase higher than the faith at your disposal. That was why the rugged healing evangelist, A. A. Allen said �When you run out of faith, then you run out of miracles.�

If a person enters a supermarket to buy some items and suddenly realises that his money has been exhausted, no matter how interested or desperate he is, he cannot purchase more items.

The same is applicable to spiritual purchases; you may be interested in seeing the move of God or more of the move of God but no matter how interested you are, until you have more faith at your disposal, you cannot see it or experience more. And this applies to every other aspect of life � be it finance, health, marriage, etc.

Beloved, if you need more unction, financial breakthrough, divine health, etc., then build your faith.
Remember this: You cannot purchase higher than the faith at your disposal.

1. Study the scripture daily and pull out revelations for consumption in order to maintain a steady growth of your faith.
2. Believe what God says and act according to His Words.

*TOPIC: THE CHEAPEST CAR! I AM NOT CHEAP!*
*BASIC SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 5:6-14*

The Tata Nano was a compact _city car_ manufactured and marketed by Indian automaker _Tata Motors_ as an inexpensive rear-engined car intended to appeal to current riders of motorcycles and scooters – with a launch price of one _lakh_ rupee or US$2500 in the year 2008. However, the car once considered to be the world’s cheapest, Tata Nano, ran into a dead end as sales and production went down to a trickle. 

The poor demand had resulted in Tata Motors shutting down. Numerous factors led to the decline of sales volume, including delays during the factory relocation from _Singur_ to _Sanand,_ early instances of the Nano catching fire, the perception of the car being unsafe and lacking quality due to cost cutting!

But the MISTAKE was the IMAGE of the NANO car which was portrayed to the public – the car was marketed as *‘the cheapest car’ and this ‘the cheapest car’* became the arrow of demotion for that car! The manufacturers forgot that buying a car in India was associated with social status and prestige; if a person owns a car, he is assumed to be successful and settled. But the word ‘cheap’ in its marketing campaigns spoiled everything.

The CAR was considered CHEAP in value and what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that you must never allow events or circumstances to DEVALUE you! Never allow FAILURE or MISTAKES of your past to DEVALUE or CHEAPEN you! Never allow your AGE to DEVALUE or cheapen you! Take back your SELF-
CONFIDENCE and great SELF-IMAGE which you lost! You are the BEST! Revelation 5:9 says, “And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Thou art worthy to take the book… for Thou wast slain, and hast *redeemed* us to God by Thy Blood out of every kindred…” The word “REDEEMED” means ‘TO BUY or PURCHASE!” *Jehovah would not have sent His only Son to die for you if you were CHEAP! 

CHEAPENING yourself is an INSULT TO YOUR God!*
You are very expensive and important and you must love yourself! A wise man said: “I don’t know a perfect person! I only know of FLAWED persons who are still worth living!” Never allow anybody to CHEAPEN or DEVALUE YOU, through their gossip, rumours, etc, against you! Rejoice and celebrate your GREAT VALUE now!

TOPIC: YOUR TIME WILL SURELY COME
Read Acts 3:2-5

2. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3. Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

MEMORISE: For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:3)

EXPOSITION

The lame man at the beautiful gate was 40 years old, and 40 years in affliction. What a terrible situation! Yet, delay is never denial. When Jesus was leaving the face of this earth, He told His disciples, including those of us today, that challenges are inevitable, but our victory is also non-negotiable. So, that you are born again does not exclude you from the challenges facing humanity. At least, we all hail from Adam.

Many times, our challenges may be due to our faith in Jesus Christ, our family background, or may have been occasioned by God Himself, obviously for some specific purposes.

Why would Abraham, who was a friend of God, have been delayed for 25 years, before getting the promised child? Job had double trouble, in spite of his rightful living, but God did not abandon him. Joseph, who we all want to quickly remember as a man whom God lifted, suffered greatly for 13 good years, both in the hands of his family and outsiders.

At times, God is waiting for a suitable time to lift the man of oppression, honour him, and glorify His Own name.

God might want to use you to reach others in similar situation, and spread the gospel abroad. Habakkuk says, "For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Experience, they say, is the best teacher. We all want to be the best, but without the pre-requisite training and development. We must know that the time of learning is not always palatable; but rest is sweet after labour. Note that whatever the cause of your predicament, God's mercy and power are sufficient to deliver you. Stop crying, but do not stop praying, until your joy is full. Your set time is NOW!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Oh Lord, do not allow me to be discouraged in time of challenges as to turn away from You.
2. Father, give me the spirit of longsuffering and patience as I await the time of Your visitation.
3. Lord, help Your church in Nigeria, and in the world, to overcome the threat of Islamic fundamentalists.
