Gremio winger, Everton Soares has admitted that he has an offer on the table to leave this summer.
The [url=https://dailypost.ng/2019/07/14/transfer-edu-set-make-brazil-winger-first-signing-arsenal/]Brazilian has been linked strongly with Arsenal, with the Premier League side opening talks over the transfer during the Copa America.
Unai Emery is weighing up whether to make an official offer and Everton has now broken his silence on the transfer speculation.
“Right now I have an offer on the plate, but I can’t say the name of the club in question.
“Just as I cannot promise that I will be here again on Thursday to play against Bahia. We’ll see,” Soares said, according to UOL.
It is believed that Gremio want a minimum of £36million for Everton and have indicated they will not open discussions with any club who is unwilling to meet that asking price.

Philippe Coutinho has given his approval to an offer from Liverpool, to take him on loan from Barcelona, Calciomercato reports.
Coutinho has been linked with a move way, after struggling to nail down a place last season.
With the arrival of Antoine Griezmann’s arrival last week, his chances now appear to be slimmer.
Coutinho has been touted as a makeweight in a deal to lure Neymar back to Barcelona from Paris-Saint Germain, but it appears he is now heading back to Anfield.
It is understood that Liverpool want to take him on a two-year loan, with the option to buy at £88million.
Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has already hinted that the Brazilian would find it difficult to play for any other Premier League club than Liverpool, who he left to join Barcelona for £142million in January 2018

Real Madrid attacking midfielder, James Rodriquez is set to join La Liga rivals, Atletico Madrid, this week.
According to Esto Es Atleti, the Los Blancos have agreed on an initial deal of around €50million with the Los Rojiblancos for the Colombia international.
The Spanish newspaper is reporting that the fee for Rodriquez could rise with various add-ons.
The report also claimed that Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, wants the club to announce the deal for the 27-year-old before their pre-season friendly against Numancia on July 20.

Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr has admitted that his team lost to a better side in the semifinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt on Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a Riyad Mahrez’s goal from a free-kick at the edge of the box, with seconds left to play, condemned Nigeria to a 2-1 defeat and steered Algeria to their first AFCON Final match in 29 years.
Rohr told newsmen during a post-match interview that it was a game of two halves, adding however that Algeria were the better side at the end of the day.
“Until the last minute, Algeria had a better first half than us, but we came back a much better team in the second half.
“Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the last minute. I think the players wanted to go to extra-time believing that perhaps Algeria will get tired and we could win the match in extra time
“It was a wonderful game. We lost it, so we are not happy. Congrats to the winners. They were the better team in the first half.
“We scored an own goal. We were unlucky but we came back like we have always done all the time in this tournament.
“When we found ourselves in a difficult situation, we always reacted and we did that also today coming back through a penalty and playing a better second half.
“But a wonderful free-kick from a football genius made the difference.
“In our last game, we won in the last minute against South Africa and today we lost. That’s football, ” he said.

AFCON: 282 Held Over Unrest In France After Algeria Beat Nigeria
A total of 282 people were arrested in France after unrest following the Algerian football team’s qualification for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, the interior ministry said Monday.
Riotous celebrations erupted across the country after Algeria beat Nigeria 2-1 in the semi-final. The arrests were made nationwide on Sunday evening, the ministry said.
Out of those arrested, 249 people were placed in custody, it added.
When Algeria defeated Ivory Coast to reach the semi-finals on Thursday, fans went on the rampage in central Paris, looting shops.
On the same day in the southern city of Montpellier, an Algerian football supporter celebrating his team’s win lost control of his car while travelling at high speed and ran over a family, killing a woman and seriously injuring her baby.
Paris and Marseille are home to large minority communities of Algerian origin. Football celebrations, with supporters brandishing large national flags, have on occasion been a source of tensions.

Barcelona have admitted they had to take a loan, to pay for the signing of Antoine Griezmann.
Last week, the club deposited €120m at the offices of the Spanish League, to release Griezmann from his contract.
On Sunday when he was presented, the club’s president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, explained how they raised the money to pay the sum up front, as was necessary to activate the buy-out clause.
“The club has taken out a six-month unsecured loan for €35m and the remaining €85m [is covered by] anticipating payments yet to be received,” Bartomeu said.
Barcelona are due money for players such as Andre Gomes from Everton.
The need for the loan, highlights the fact that the club have no money to spend on transfers this summer, having already bought Frenkie de Jong.
This also cast doubts over the LaLiga champions’ ability to bring Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain.
Barca sold Neymar to PSG for €222m and the Ligue 1 giants will no doubt be asking for a fee in that range to do a deal.

N’golo Kante not ready to play – Lampard

N’golo Kante is not ready to play for new Chelsea Boss Frank Lampard, as the French international continues to recover from the “effects of injury from last season”.
Kante has missed the first set of pre-season games under the new Chelsea Manager, but is expected to get minutes when the Blues head out to Japan this week.
Chelsea secured a comfortable 4-0 over St. Patrick’s Athletic on Saturday in Dublin to hand Lampard his first win in the dug-out for the Blues.
In his post match remarks, he gave an update on Kante’s fitness.
‘He’s been training on his own with the physios this week because he’s still feeling the effects of his injury from the end of last season and we just want to be careful with him,’ he explained.
‘It’s not a big problem. We know he’s a fit boy and he has a great attitude so the last thing we want to do is push him too early. Hopefully next week in Japan we’ll start to integrate him into the group.’

5 die in Algeria celebrating team’s victory over Nigeria

At least five persons were killed and 13 others injured in a traffic accident in eastern Algeria during celebrations of the country’s qualification to the final of African Cup of Nations (AFCON) being held in Egypt.
Algeria beat Nigeria 2-1, getting the winning goal in the last seconds of the game from Riyad Mahrez.
The national radio channel 1 specified that the accident occurred on Sunday overnight in the eastern province of Jijel when a semi trailer collided with a mini van carrying a group of supporters celebrating Algeria’s victory in the semi-final.
Two supporters were killed immediately while three others succumbed to injures in hospital.
The source added that 13 other supporters are in critical condition as they are receiving treatment.
In France, nearly 300 people were arrested in clashes amid the celebrations by fans of Algeria’s national team.
Fans crowded in the streets for mass celebrations, throwing firecrackers, including at police, and climbed cars.
The traffic was paralyzed all the way to the Arc de Triomphe.
The arrests were made nationwide on Sunday evening, the interior ministry said.
Paris is home to large minority communities of Algerian origin.

Nigerian basketball player Calistus Anyichie drowns in US

Calistus Anyichie, a Nigerian-born basketball player died on Sunday after he got drowned at Buttermilk Falls State Park near Ithaca, New York.
The sophomore student at Binghamton University, was a member of the University's basketball team and was majoring in political science before his death.
The body of the deceased was found at the base of a 15-foot bank, after the Crews responded to the drowning at the 300 block of West King Road at upper Buttermilk Falls State Park at around 5 p.m on Sunday.
He had attended St. Mary-Assumption High School, where he played basketball for three years, was the team captain and was also selected all-conference as a senior.

Paul Put, the head coach of Guinea has been sacked alongside his entire staff by the country’s Football Federation after their disappointing performance at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Syli Nationale were eliminated from the competition after a 3-0 loss to Algeria in the Round of 16. During the group stage, Guinea managed a win, a draw and a loss in Group B.
The 63-year-old Belgian football coach was sacked after a Monday meeting.

Put was appointed as Guinea coach in March replacing Kanfory Sylla who was sacked following the failure of Guinea's home-based team at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco in January.

Wales and former Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey has been unveiled as a Juventus player.
The 28-year-old Welshman was officially unveiled by the Italian champions in Turin and was handed the No 8 shirt worn by Claudio Marchisio, Antonio Conte and Didier Deschamps.
'I wanted the No 8, I wore it at Arsenal and when it was free here I had to take it with both hands,' Ramsey said.
'I know Marchisio was an unbelievable player, grew up here and had a fantastic career. I spoke to him a couple of times in J Medical.
'If I can emulate what he did for Juventus I would be pretty proud of that. I know it comes with responsibilities but I am ready for that.'

Premier League Introduce 'head-to-head' Rule For 2019/20 Season
The Premier League will use the head-to-head record between two sides level on points to determine their league positions in a bid to avoid the need for an end-of-season play-off.
The new rule has been introduced ahead of the 2019/20 season, and will come into effect if teams are level on points, goal difference and goals scored.
Under the previous rules, teams level on those three criteria would be forced to take part in a play-off to determine which one took the higher position.
But their head-to-head record will now come into effect in that scenario, with the team with the most points taking the higher place.
If the sides are level on points in their head-to-head record, the team with the most away goals in the matches between them finish higher.
If the teams still cannot be separated a play-off will take place at a neutral venue, with the format, timing and venue to be determined by the Premier League
The rule will apply to teams fighting for the title and European qualification, as well as sides battling against relegation.

Clarence Seedorf has been sacked by the Cameroon Football Federation, barely a week after the Indomitable Lions exited the 2019 African Cup of Nations competition following a defeat by Nigeria's Super Eagles.
Coach Clarence Seedorf who was sacked alongside his assistant Patrick Kluivert, had taken over the role in August 2018.

Nigerian footballer Ademola Lookman set for a move to RB Leipzig from Everton in a £22.5million deal

German club, RB Leipzig have reportedly agreed for a deal with Everton to sign Nigerian footballer Ademola Lookman.
The news of his imminent move comes after the 21-year-old winger enjoyed a successful loan spell at the German club just last year.
According to Sky Sports News, Lookman who was born in the UK to Nigerian parents is expected to make the switch to Germany in few days after Leipzig made an improved offer of £22.5million for him.
During his short loan spell at the German side, Lookman scored five goals and provided four assists in 11 matches during his short period at the Bundesliga side.

Three time Nations cup winners Nigeria lead the list of top football nations seeded ahead of the draw for the 2021 Nations cup to be hosted by Cameroon.
Apart from Nigeria other seeded countries in Pot 1 are Cameroon, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, DR Congo, Ghana, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ivory coast, and Algeria.
The draw for the qualifying round of the 2021 African cup of Nations, will take place on Thursday, 18 July 2019, at Aida Ballroom Cairo Marriott Hotel, Zamalek. According to Confederation of African Football, the teams have been seeded into five levels, according to the FIFA official ranking issued on the 14th of June 2019
Pot 2 consist of medium rank teams like Guinea, South Africa, Cape Vert, Uganda, Zambia, Benin, Gabon, Congo, Mauritania, Niger, Kenya and Libya, who are seeded teams of level 2.
In pot 3, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, central Africa, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Angola, Malawi, Togo, Sudan and Tanzania, constitute the block of teams seeded in level 3.
Pot 4 is made up of Burundi, Rwanda, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana, Comoros and Ethiopia as seeded teams of level 4.
The 5th and the last pot, has Liberia, Mauritius, Gambia, South Sudan, Chad, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles and Djibouti, as level 5 seeded Teams.
The draw will give 12 groups of four teams each (Group A to L). The first two teams in each group at the end of the qualifying round, will qualify for the 2021 Nations cup which will be the second time AFCON will be featuring 24 teams.
Cameroon who were stripped of the right to host the 2019 Nations cup have a chance of hosting the continental fiesta in 2021, 49 years the last hosted in 1972. The Super Eagles of Nigeria have won the bronze medal of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, after beating Tunisia 1-0 at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
