RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 7TH JUNE.


WE’RE LUMINARIES

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever (Daniel 12:3).

The word translated, “Shine” in the scripture above is “zahar” in Hebrew, and it means, “to admonish, teach, inspire, or send out light.” These all connote leadership, and light gives leadership; it gives guidance. It parallels what Jesus implied when He said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19). “Go and teach all nations” means go and shine to all nations; inspire all nations.

This is our calling as God’s people: we make students or pupils of the nations. We show the world the true life. We show them true happiness and joy. We show them what the love of God is as we unveil the Gospel to them. We’re the light in a dark world, to lead men into Christ and His priceless inheritance.

When you arrive, illumination comes; there’s direction; darkness is dispelled and the light and righteousness of God are established. You’re like Paul, whom the Lord commissioned to open the eyes of the unsaved, and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18).

Proverbs 11:30 says, “…he that winneth souls is wise” ; put that together with our opening verse and see that, indeed, we’re luminaries. We take the light of the Gospel everywhere we go. We give direction and show the way; we bring fulfilment and joy. These are qualities of light, and we’re the light of the world.
In John 8:12, Jesus said, “…I am the light of the world. If anybody follows me, he shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” 1 John 4:17 declares, “…as he is, so are we in this world.” We have the light of life, and dispense the same to our world.

Sickness, poverty, discouragement, death and all other works of darkness and evil can’t, and should never find a place in your life. You’re a shining light; walk in this reality.

PRAYER

Thank you, holy Father, for enlisting me in your army of soul winners; and now, I illuminate my world, and the hearts of sinners are open to receive the message of your saving grace today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Gracious Father, thank You for the privilege of being seated with You in the realms of power and glory, far above all principality, power, might and every domain of darkness! I reign with You today over the circumstances of life and over every negative force of nature, declaring that Your perfect and eternal
will is fulfilled in my life – in my job, family, finances and in the lives of those around me. I thank You for the ministry of Your Word in my life.

The Word is like a burning fire shut up in my bones. I can’t hold it back; I’ll promote and publish it everywhere with fervency until it engulfs my world. I am a burning and a shining light and many are coming to bask in the brightness of my light, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

THEME: COVER THAT NAKEDNESS PLEASE!

MEMORISE:

Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward. Lamentations 1:8

2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

MESSAGE

Nakedness refers to the absence of clothing and it also refers to the wearing of only underwear. It simply means being inadequately or inappropriately dressed. To be naked is to be bare, lightly dressed or to wear skimpy, revealing or insufficient clothing. These days, people are obsessed with showing of their wealth through fashion. As heros and mentors to many, the rich and famous tend to influence a lot of people to follow their footsteps. Unfortunate, this platform is being used to promote nudity in fashion. If you look at the world today, a greater percentage of fashion style reflects nakedness, particularly in western countries. If the lady’s cleavage is not exposed, the dress is viewed as old-fashioned. If the skirt is not short, such that the lady can’t sit down comfortably without having to cross her legs or continually draw down her skirt to cover her laps, it is not fashionable. If the man’s trousers are not super tight, it is not fashionable. It is however said that instead of world to look to the church for healthy and sensible fashion inspiration, the church is copying the world, which is why indecent and provocative dressing is commonplace in the church of God today. You will go to some churches and wonder whether you are in a brothel. Christ has called us to walk in love, so if you know that you dress seductively and this could cause someone to stumble in lust, you better have a rethink. What is your motive when you say you want to dress to kill? If you want to make heaven, you must judge your motives and actions by the word of God and make necessary adjustments.

The essence of clothing, first and foremost is to cover human nakedness. God is the first one who designed and provided clothes, and His primary purpose was to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve after they attempted to sew fig leaves together as aprons to cover their nakedness (Genesis 3:21, Genesis 3:7). So many people today are wearing fig leaves and calling them clothes. For any clothing to be appropriate for a child of God, whether male or female, it must meet the standard that God set I the beginning by adequately covering human nakedness. Moreover, we are Christ’s ambassadors; an ambassador does not do anything that will tarnish the image of the country he or she represents. As a matter of fact, an ambassador positively projects the cultural heritage of his or her country always. The culture of the kingdom we belong to is holiness, righteousness and the fear of God, and we must project it in this world of sin and godlessness. Furthermore, we have the responsibility of making our body suitable foe the Holy Spirit to dwell in (1 Corinthians 3:16). As the temple of God, defiling your body through nudity has consequences (1 Corinthians 3:17). Henceforth, dress as a worthy ambassador of God’s kingdom.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please expel nudity and destroy immorality in Your Church, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC:
THE KEY OF FAITH.

The Word of God enhances faith; where God’s Word abounds, faith is exercised.

SCRIPTURE: But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; Romans 10:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Light from the Word of God is the raw material for the operation of faith.

In our previous studies, we saw different dimensions of the profitability of faith.

Now, it is very essential to look at the key to exercising faith, that is, the key that opens the door to the world of faith.

Now, what is the key of faith? It is light from Scripture, that is, light from the Word of God. In the Book of Romans chapter Ten and in Verse Seventeen, the Scripture says, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. This means, the Word of God enhances faith; where God’s Word abounds, faith is exercised. Other Scriptures that corroborates this truth are:

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak anything.1 Thessalonians 1:8

So, there is an intricate relationship between faith and the Word of God.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3.

Beloved, the Word of God is the raw material for faith. Light from the Word of God is the raw material for the operation of faith. Lighted people are faith-filled people; worded people are faith-filled people. You cannot walk in faith if you neglect the Word of God.

My counsel is, study the Word of God consciously and consistently in order to live the lifestyle of faith.

Remember this: Light from the Word of God is the raw material for the operation of faith.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Trust God for a fresh baptism of hunger for the Word.

2. Trust God to see light as you study.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace to study Your Word continually in order to access the light that would build my faith in You, in Jesus’ Name.

8. The lawyer – misleads all seven.

The above was written in 43 B.C., but valid even today! It shows a world of SELFISHNESS and I call it the VANITY SCHOOL OF CICERO! At every stage of life, the truth is: *Only A Few Love You On This Earth! Most People Are After What They Can Take Out Of You!* From the rich to the poor! From the soldier to the politician, from the banker to the lawyer, etc, the name of the game is “ME FIRST.” 

Oh, today’s scripture says in Vs. 20: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in *the Son of God who loved me* and gave Himself for me.”

*You can only be sure of the love of the ONE who loved you and GAVE HIMSELF!* David Seabury opined: “People put their interests above all others! No man will work for your interests unless they are his.” Did you get that? It’s a SELFISH WORLD! *In fact, someone defined TEAMWORK as: “All for one, especially if that one is me.”* Yes! That is why you must NEVER look up to any man or woman for your supply or joy! If all the people in this world in which we live, were as selfish as a few of the people in this world in which we live, there would be no world in which to live. Did you catch that?

*Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).*

*EXPOSITION*

There is much outcry everyday by people concerning “the work of the devil”. Everything that goes bad is credited to the devil. The devil is so portrayed and magnified, as if he is omnipresent, omniscience or omnipotent, whereas he is not; he only succeeds on lives that render assistance to, and cooperation with him. If Satan fails to gain control over your heart, then he cannot triumph over you.

By assisting the devil, you give him chance in your life, home, business or ministry. You open up your cracks and loop-holes to the devil when you sin against God (I Pet. 5:8). The Bible has expressly informed us to resist him in all ways and in all what he represents. The resultant effect of resisting the devil and his agents is that, he will flee from you. Jesus Christ Himself resisted him during temptation (Mt. 4:1-8).

Stop indulging and involving in shoddy, questionable, controversial and unbiblical ‘deals’! Many have brought trouble on themselves and they say “it is the devil” No doubt, the devil remains the mastermind of all forms of evils on earth, but evildoers need to be asked whether they were forced, or manipulated to perpetrate such evils! As you set out on today’s activities, resolve within you to resist the devil and not to assist him, and he shall flee from you.

*PRAYER POINTS*

1. O Lord, assist me never to assist the devil to do anything against me and others.
2. Lord, assist our youths to overcome youthful lust that make them fall prey to the devil.
3. Father, punitively expose, and restore ministers who are dining and wining with the devil in Jesus’ name.
