Daily Devotional for Saturday 1st June
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SATURDAY, 1ST JUNE.

HE’S ACTIVE IN AND THROUGH YOU

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word (Acts 10:44).

Consider what we just read in Acts 10:44; while Peter was yet speaking, the Holy Ghost was “working”; He “fell” on them to whom Peter was speaking. He didn’t wait for Peter to finish, showing that we’re never alone and we can always trust Him to do His part, as we do ours.

In Mark 16:20, after the ascension of the Master, the Bible says the disciples “…went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

Observe that He was with them, not as a passive observer, but was actively working, confirming their words with signs, wonders and miracles.

Each time you go out to preach the Gospel, be conscious of the Lord’s presence and His power that’s manifested through the preaching of the Word. It makes no difference whether you’re on street-evangelism, or you’re preaching in a bus, in an office, or in a mall, be assured that the Holy Spirit is working with you and through you.

Therefore, be bold to preach the Gospel. Preach Jesus Christ. Preach that He came into the world to save sinners and make them sons of God. Let the unsaved around you know that God isn’t counting their sins against them; rather, He’s made provision for the remission of their sins.

The ministry of the Gospel He’s committed to your trust is a divine one, which you can only fulfil by the power of the Spirit. It doesn’t matter what your efforts are, they’re in vain without Him. That means you can’t do anything of eternal significance without the help of the Holy Spirit. In John 15:5, Jesus emphasized this, saying, “…for without me ye can do nothing.”

Don’t go through life or ministry struggling on your own; work with the Spirit. Discuss your work with Him; if there’re challenges, talk to Him about them and He’ll grant you the wisdom you need to put you over. Trust Him, and there’ll be nothing you can’t do; His power will work through you in a tremendous way.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the fulfilment of the glorious ministry of your Spirit in my life. I’m completely yielded to Him, for He’s the One who works actively in and through me, to fulfil your divine plans and purposes in the earth. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I’m effective and fruitful in every good work, bearing fruits of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

Acts 1:8 AMPC But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: SATURDAY 1ST JUNE 2019

THEME: THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

MEMORISE:

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1

READ: Hebrews 11:32-40

32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.

34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

38 (Of whom the world was not worthySmile they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

MESSAGE

Soon after I became born again, God showed me that Christianity is an eternal journey with Him which gets progressively better by the day for those who live in obedience to His commandments. As soon as I understood this, I made up my mind on two things: to live the rest of my life in total obedience to God, and to live with the mindset that the best is yet to come, irrespective of my current status, achievements or breakthroughs. This decision yielded a habit of appreciating God for every success and achievement in life and ministry, without the slightest feeling of accomplishment or the notion that we have “arrived”. Those who have witness the different levels of growth, development and miracles that God has made possible in The Redeemed Christian Church of God have always wondered how we are able to make these great leaps without resting on our oars. The answer lies in Philippians 3:13-14, which says:

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Paul was able to pen these words because he had a revelation of an ever-increasing glory in his spirit. He therefore lived every day of His life with the attitude that irrespective of the present glory, with God on his side, the best was yet to come. No wonder he lived a life that went from glory to greater glory, so much so that God performed special miracles through him (Acts 19:11-12). In spite of it all, he never allowed himself to dwell on his achievements as though he had arrived or attained greatness.

We should therefore learn from Paul’s example that doing great things on an incremental basis is central to the purpose and agenda God has for us. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says:

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

In essence, the greatest philosophers, investors and scientists cannot comprehend what God has in store for His children. God is so great, and Hid ways are far higher than our ways. Therefore, we can continually expect great and mighty things from Him. The events in 2 Kings 11:18-19 teach that when anyone is on an assignment for God, the fellow must diligently and aggressively carry out such duties according to God’s high calling, and not according to personal preferences. Go ahead and prophesy to yourself today that your best is yet to come!

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to always look forward to a greater future in You, in Jesus’ Name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 17-18
Jeremiah 48:1-20

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 1: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

• There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
• Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

• There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

• There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

• There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

• There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR. PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE.

Saturday 01 June, 2019.

Topic:
THE DOORWAY TO SPIRITUAL REWARDS.

SCRIPTURE: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word of God is profitable when it is mixed with faith.

There are rewards for believing and trusting in God. This belief or trust in God is what is summed up as faith; that is faith in God. Faith is, therefore, the doorway to spiritual rewards and profits. It is important to know that we do not believe God or seek Him in vain (Isaiah 45:19). It is not a waste of effort to believe or put our faith in God. As a dedicated Christian, when people tell you that you are wasting your time by going to church, tell them that there are rewards for putting one’s trust in God (Isaiah 45:19).

Now, I would like you to take note of the following key thoughts on the profitability of faith in the life of a Christian:

1. Faith Attracts Substantial Evidence of the Reality of God into the Life of the Believer

The Bible said in Hebrews 11:1-3 ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen’.

Faith is substance; it is evidence; it attracts substantial evidence of the reality of God into the life of a Believer. In case there is anybody who says God does not exist, when he sees the life of a man of faith or a woman of faith, they will see the evidence of the reality of God.

2. You cannot be in Faith and be Without Proofs; you cannot be in Faith and be Without Evidence

Since faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1), it means that the lifestyle of faith must attract proofs or testimonies to the life of a Christian.

3. Faith is What Makes the Word of God Profitable

The Word of God is profitable when it is mixed with faith (Hebrews 4:2). It is possible to have religion without reality but you cannot have faith without reality.

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to live a lifestyle of faith in order to attract the practical proofs of God’s reality and faithfulness in your life.

Remember this: The Word of God is profitable when it is mixed with faith.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to make the study of God’s Word a consistent habit.

2. Believe every revealed or spoken Word of God by taking relevant actions of faith to see the proofs of God’s faithfulness in your life.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace to study Your Word continually in order to access light for faith in You. Make my life an evidence of Your faithfulness as I put my total trust in You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE PROFITABILITY OF FAITH.

DAILY READING: 2 Samuel 18:1-19:10, John 20:1-31, Psalm 119:153–176, Proverbs 16:14–15

AMAZING FACT: Christianity was the main religion in Egypt between the fourth and sixth centuries.

QUOTE: When your faith is weak, your destiny is not secured. Culled from 15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL by Dr Paul Enenche.

DON’T FORGET TO ATTEND: The Destiny Recovery service tomorrow   by 9:00am at the Glory Dome, the Lord’s garden, Airport Road, Abuja. Come with your friends and loved ones.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The Lord shall usher you into the realm of evidential proofs in this season, in Jesus’ Name.

*CAC LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*Saturday, June 1, 2019*

*THE MAN WITH A DIFFERENT SPIRIT*
*Read Numbers 14:20-24*

*MEMORISE*

*Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony (Hebrews 11:1,2).*

*EXPOSITION*

The man with different spirit, in the context of our Living Water dose for today, is the one who positively stands out among many. He is different and peculiar in relation to others, seeing possibility in the impossible. God spoke after the incidence of the rebellion of the people of Israel, who had lost hope in the ability of their God to deliver them from the people of Canaan, occasioned by their faithlessness and the consequent bad report of the ten spies. Caleb, though, saw the reality of the stature of the Canaanites, believed more in his God and previous testimonies (Exod. 14:21, 22; 16:14) than the obvious realities of failure around them. While God was going to destroy all the ten and others who did not trust in His strength to deliver, Caleb would be rewarded for his unflinching faith in Yahweh (Num. 14:24). That is relationship per excellence.

The man with a different spirit is peculiar, and of a living faith, who sees and hears beyond others, and attempts to do great things for God (Matt. 17:20; Jn. 1:12). He is a man of courage, who is never deterred by mountains on his way. Christians must trust in God’s ability to do the impossible, and our past experiences of Him should be an impetus to continually rely on Him.

God will not promise what He will not fulfil. If Abraham got his own son after twenty five years of waiting on the God, who never fails in fulfilling His promises, then your own miracle is on the way. Stand with, and for God today!

*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Oh Lord, give me a positive heart.
2. Father, help believers to trust in You, even in the most difficult situation of their lives.
3. Oh Lord, help restore Christian marriages that are heading, towards separation, or have separated due to lack of trust in one another.
*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: 2 Kings 5:16 – 7:18; John 9:27 – 10:7*

OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR THE CHAMPIONS

DATE: SATURDAY JUNE 1, 2019

TOPIC: THE SMALL LOAF, THE LITTLE GIRL AND CONTENTMENT

BASIC SCRIPTURES: (1 TIMOTHY 6:1-6; HEBREWS 13:5-6).

Once when there was a famine, a kind, rich baker sent for twenty of the poorest children in the town and said to them: “In this basket there is a loaf for each of you. Take it and come back to me every day at this hour till God sends us better times.”

The hungry children always quarrelled over the bread, because each wished to have the largest loaf.
At last, they went away without even thanking the Good Samaritan. But Gretchen, a poorly dressed little girl, did not quarrel or struggle with the rest, but remained standing quietly to the side.

When the ill-behaved children had left, she took the SMALLEST LOAF, which alone was left in the basket, kissed the gentleman hand and went home. The next day, the children were as ill-behaved as before and again, poor timid Gretchen received a loaf scarcely half the size of the one she got the first day.

When she went home and her mother cut the loaf open, new shining pieces of Silver fell out Of it! Her mother was very much alarmed and said, “Take the money back to the good gentleman at once, for it must have ‘ gotten into the bread by accident.
Be quick, Gretchen, be quick.” But when the little girl gave the rich man her mother’s message, he said, “No, no my child, it was no mistake, I had the silver pieces put into the SMALLEST LOAF to reward you. Always be as contented, kind and thankful as you are now.

Go home now, and tell your mother that the money is yours.” What a life-long lesson! I put it this way: inside the small loaf is wealth! Inside the small loaf is great favour/
fortune! Inside the small loaf is long life!
No wonder Charles Lamb said: “My motto is: Be contented with little, yet wishing for more.” A Spanish proverb says. “Since we cannot get what we like, let us like what we get.”

Heaven through today’s two scriptures is speaking to you again about the need to be thankful for where you are, while believing God to get to where you should be. In this 2nd quarter of 2019, never forget: Inside the small loaf is wealth! Inside the small loaf is great favor/fortune and long life. Yes! Inside contentment is Peace, Good Health and Long Life! Will you be contented?

This month is ODM ANNUAL MONTH OF MERCY! A month dedicated to do Charity work and show Practical Love. This should be done throughout JUNE 2019 wherever you are. It should involve visiting Orphanages, Hospitals, elderly people’s homes, etc. Sow a SEED OF MERCY into UBA, ACCT. NO. 1021784230 NAME: ODM MERCY OUTREACH or any account on page 29 of this booklet to help our visitation to Orphanages, Hospitals, Elderly Homes, etc. MERCY WILL NEVER ELUDE YOUR HOUSEHOLD!
PRAYER POINTS: Take Song 2: Count your blessings…

1. No matter where you are in life, be thankful. Give thanks now!
2. Repent from murmuring and complaining in the past.
3. Pray over any matter affecting your peace now.
BY: BISHOP (DR) CHRIS E. KWAKPOVWE (CEK)
PUBLISHER/AUTHOR & EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

2: COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

1. When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

REFRAIN

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;

Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4. So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
