Daily Devotional for Sunday 26th May
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

SUNDAY, 26TH MAY.

WE LIVE IN THE VICTORY OF CHRIST

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

In Christianity, we pose a solid front! We don’t chicken out; we don’t live in fear; we’re bold and strong, irrespective of the troubles or adversities we face. We maintain our faith-filled confessions. We’re confident about life; confident that come what may, we’re more than conquerors.

There’re those who say, “Well, you don’t know what life will bring forth; you never can tell what’s going to happen tomorrow.” That’s not us; we don’t talk like that! We know what will happen tomorrow:
tomorrow, we’ll win; we’ll still be shouting, dancing, and rejoicing in victory. Why? It’s because the script has been written: all things work together for good, to them that love God (Romans 8:28). Our light afflictions produce for us a far more exceeding, and eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17). We triumph always in all things and in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14). Hallelujah!

The “Script,” the Word by which we live, says we’re victors forever, come rain, come shine, and we’re simply acting it out. Part of that script says in Romans 8:35, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” After considering all these things, the Spirit’s conclusion, who is the “Scriptwriter,” is that we’re more than conquerors.

In Isaiah 54:16-17, again, the “Scriptwriter” wrote, “Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” What a word! If this doesn’t give anyone the confidence to face life and win, then nothing will.

You’re invincible. Your life is for the glory of God. Nothing in this world can defeat you or put you under as long as you live in the victory of Christ. There’s nothing to struggle with or try to overcome, because you have triumphed already with, and in Christ. Don’t allow the circumstances of life try to make you think otherwise.

CONFESSION

I walk in the reality of all that’s written about me in the Scriptures. The Lord is my Rock and my Strength, He’s the glory of my life. In Him, I’ve overcome the world. I’m walking in the victory of Christ. I win every day, reigning in life through Christ Jesus. I make progress. I walk in peace with prosperity. I’m healthy, vibrant and strong. Glory to God!

FURTHER STUDY

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

2 Corinthians 4:15-18 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

#TALKINGSESSION

26TH MAY.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD.

Dear Father, I rejoice in the knowledge of Your Word today. My love for You is lavishly expressed in my complete obedience to Your Word by following You, with wholehearted devotion. Thank You for manifesting Yourself to me, and revealing Your glory in my life.

I thank You for the Lordship of Your Word over my life. In my dealings with people today, I am humble and tender-hearted, fully yielded to Your Word. Wrath, anger, and clamour with all bitterness are not a part of me, for I am rooted and grounded in love, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: SUNDAY 26TH MAY 2019

THEME: THE WORKS OF THE FLESH.

MEMORISE:

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Romans 6:12

READ: Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

MESSAGE

The flesh is Adamic nature that everyone is born with. This nature is subject to sin and is under its bondage. However, when a person becomes born again, he or she dies to this nature as it is nailed to the cross of Jesus and so sin no longer has dominion over such a person (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24). To live in this dominion, we must continually stand our ground in faith against the works of the flesh whenever suggestions to do them arise in our mind. Allowing the works of the flesh to manifest in your life after becoming born again implies choosing to be dominated by the flesh again (Romans 6:16). The Holy Spirit lists some works of the flesh in today’s Bible reading, and He makes it clear that those who engage in them cannot inherit the kingdom of God. It’s true that after becoming born again, we are still susceptible to the works of the flesh because of the mortal body we live in (Romans 6:12). However, when Jesus returns to transform us, this mortal body will be done away with and we will have a new body that is no longer susceptible to sin (1 Corinthians 15:35-54). For this reason, the Holy Spirit admonishes us to subdue the need and desires of our present body through self-denial and discipline so that the works of the flesh do not find expression through any of its parts. He says in Colossians 3:5:

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:”

He also says in Romans 8:13:

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”

Please take note of the terms the Holy Spirit uses in these verses. As Christians, we are to mortify our bodies and not the flesh because our flesh, which is the old Adamic nature, is crucified already. The mortification of our body must be done consciously and deliberately. Sharing his personal experience on this, Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:27:

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

Beloved, no matter the spiritual height you have attained, you have to keep subduing your body through self-denial and discipline so that it does not mess you up. This is the reason why I always say that one cannot be too careful when it comes to the issue of sin. May the Lord help us to finish well and strong in Jesus’ Name.

ACTION POINT:

Abstain from anything that triggers sinful desires in your body such as going to night clubs, unnecessary body contact with the opposite sex, pornography and ungodly jokes.

HYMN 12: DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS

• Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.
• Refrain:
Oh, deeper yet, I pray,
And higher every day,
And wiser, blessed Lord,
In Thy precious, holy Word.

• Deeper, deeper, blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus,
And His perfect will.

• Deeper, deeper! though it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.

• Deeper, higher, every day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqu’ror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.

• Deeper, deeper in the faith of Jesus,
Holy faith and true;
In His pow’r and soul exulting wisdom
Let me peace pursue.

SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR. PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE

SUNDAY 26 MAY, 2019

TOPIC: BOOSTERS OF WISDOM

SCRIPTURE: Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom and in all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Wisdom is supernatural mentality and scriptural prescription for human frustration.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, wisdom can be defined as the ability to make sensible decisions and give good advice because of the experience and knowledge that you have. Wisdom is synonymous with sagacity, intelligence, understanding, insight, perception, rationality, discernment, shrewdness, astuteness, smartness, judiciousness, good judgement, foresight, clear-sightedness, prudence, etc. Wisdom is not just common sense; it is supernatural mentality and Scriptural prescription for human frustration.

A booster on the other hand is something that improves, enhances or increases the quality or quantity of something. Boosters of wisdom, therefore, refer to those things that enhance wisdom in the life of a person.

Now, what are some of the factors that boost wisdom in the life of a person?

1. Maintaining the Attitude of Joy or Excitement (Isaiah 30:29-31.

Celebration is the trigger for revelation and inspiration. It is evident in Scriptures that when people praise and celebrate, God speaks (2 Kings 3:15-16). Celebration brings revelation and revelation terminates affliction. Depressed people lack discretion; people who are weighed down cannot think deep.

2. Existing with Vision (Matthew 6:22)

People of vision are people of wisdom. If you can see tomorrow, what you need to reach tomorrow will be handed to you. If you can see there, how to leave here to get there will be shown to you.

3. The Practice of Love (1 John 4:8)

When you love, you pull out the nature of God in man, and the nature of God is the nature of wisdom. If we avoid the temptation to walk in bitterness, unforgiveness and love-lessness, we will come to the point where the love-walk becomes a practice and after a while, wisdom will begin to flow.

Beloved, I decree the release of the wisdom of God upon your life today, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Wisdom is supernatural mentality and scriptural prescription for human frustration.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Seek God at the place of prayer for wisdom.

2. Practice the life of love.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the impartation of Divine wisdom today. I refuse the spirit of depression. Help me to live above sin and iniquity, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: BOOSTERS OF WISDOM (3).

QUOTE: Living right is key to living well; and living right is the secret of living long. Culled from 22 LAWS OF LIFE by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 2 Samuel 9:1 to 11:27, John 15:1 to 27, Psalm 119:49 to 64, Proverbs 16:1 to 3.

AMAZING FACT: There are 195 countries in the entire world and Billy Graham’s Preaching has been heard in more than 185 countries and territories on six continents. That amounts to at least 215 million people who heard him preach.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: I decree your access to fresh dimensions of Divine wisdom in this season in Jesus’ Name.

*CAC LIVING WATER*

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE*

*Sunday, May 26, 2019*

*TOPIC:**COUNTING THE COST OF FOLLOWING JESUS*
*Read: Luke 9:57-62*

*MEMORISE: _For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it_ (Luke 14:28).*

*EXPOSITION*

Following Jesus daily is one of the conditions one needs to fulfil, to become a true disciple of Jesus *(Matt. 10:28).* Following Jesus is the most important thing in our lives. Our emphasis in this study is that following Jesus totally must cost us certain things. Commitment to Christ must not be casual. It is a must for you to count the cost before embark on this eternal journey.

Jesus met with certain three men in different occasion, during His earthly ministry. The discussions He had with them help us a lot to know that one cannot just follow Jesus without counting the cost. All these three men thought that following Jesus was a good thing to do, but they did not see it as the most important thing.

The first man came to Jesus himself, but he did not think carefully what following Jesus would entail. So, Jesus spelt out the fact that following Him would means giving up many of the personal comforts that he enjoyed *(Luke 9:57-58).*

Commitment to Jesus cannot be based on an emotional or idealistic decision. Jesus called the second man Himself and the man thought that following Him was important, but not more important than family obligations (vv. 59-60). If your commitment to family is greater than your commitment to Jesus, you have got it wrong. Your primary allegiance must be to Jesus rather than to family *(Matt. 10:37).*

Finally, the third man volunteered himself to follow Jesus, but with the stipulated that he first be allowed to go home and say goodbye to everyone (vv.61:62). Jesus was important, but not important enough to let go of the old relationship and ways. He wanted to keep the door open, so that if things didn’t work out, he could quickly go back. Jesus replied that His followers cannot keep one foot in the world just in case things don’t work out in the Kingdom. Following Jesus totally is once and for all decision, not an ongoing process. You need to count the cost.

*PRAYER POINTS*

*1.* Lord Jesus, help me to give my primary allegiance to you alone.
*2.* I ask for enough commitment through the help of the Holy Spirit to follow Jesus totally, more than ever before.
*3.* Pray for large percentages of Africa Christians to move from their level of spiritual dullness to becoming committed Christians.
*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: 1 King 15:31 – 18:2; John 7:7 – 7:28*
*HAVE A REFRESHING TIME IN HIS PRESENCE...........SHALOM*
